Love it! But please add tools. I absolutely love this app! It’s by far the best free drawing app out there... it has so many tools and features, and preset colors are really handy. It’s also really easy to edit with, surprisingly. So it does more than just draw with a little help of copy and pasting of layers. My phone has a pretty small screen, (iPhone 5s) but with a stylus, it’s actually pretty easy to draw real art. And it has so many brushes. And the app runs super smoothly on my phone. And a bonus, no annoying ads. No in-app purchases. I absolutely love that, and is yet another reason why I love this app. I also really love the design of the app, once you get the hang of what it can do it’s so easy. And the clean minimalist appearance is really nice. My recommendation for future updates, there isn’t really a way to just blend colors. Sure there are brushes with that affect, but it would be so helpful if there was a blender that just blurred the colors together instead of smearing them; a brush that isn’t supposed to resemble any real-life brush. If you could add that it would be so helpful! Also when I save a drawing to my camera roll, the quality is reduced from what it was in the app, So normally I just screenshot my art instead. But if you could fix this issue I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for this amazing app. I definitely recommend.

Amazing app!😊. This is a amazing app best drawing app I’ve ever gotten this is great it gives you a little tour of everything when you go to draw. It has so many options of paint brushes and designs to choose from it also has an amazing layout! Lots of colors to chose from and it has a great gallery after you have pictures in your gallery you can do a slide show to show all of your amazing artwork. So far I have had zero glitches you can even write on your artwork if you want to all you have to do is tap on the T and you put in what you want it to say and there you go. If your not happy with it’s font you can the font so many choices to chose from and you can adjust it if you want. You can do sideways or you can even change the color of your word so instead of your writing on your pic be black you can chose it to be pink, white ,yellow, orange, blue & much more! it is definitely great and it does not cost any money or in app purchases💰I most definitely will have this app for a very long time! 😁😍

Please read if you are thinking about this app. So I have been using this app since 2018 and everything really awesome! The tools are easy to use and customize and the effects are really cool. But I then experienced something very bad and really sad on this app. So, you can have folders and you can put different art pieces in different folders, so I had spread my art from the past 4 years on like 9 different folders. I closed the app while being in a folder cause I just finished an art piece and I close the app, after a few days I reopen the app and all my folders and art have been deleted except for the folder I was in, I had over 200 art pieces and now I have 17. I don’t know what happened with the app but now all my art has been permanently deleted and it sucked. For this reason I have stoped using this app and moved to ibis paint. In short very good app for drawing and illustrations but be very cautious about using other folders. Thank you

Non artist review. I am not an artist. I sketch to capture mechanical ideas and concepts. I use drawings to visualize ideas before committing them to physical materials. This app has many features that I will probably not use, it is like to much horsepower, nice to know it’s there just in case. As I do more drawings I will gradual use more of the tools. With a dozen sketches completed I am comfortable finding the basic drawing tools and can get myself out of trouble with few surprises. I also like that when I wake up at 2:00 am with a new idea I can pick up the iPad and draw my idea without turning on the lights and waking my partner. I bought the iPad to draw and store ideas and drawings. With half a room full of three ring binders and notebooks of drawings I need to conserve space. I plan to photograph my notebook sketches for organized storage in the iPad and recycle a lot of paper. Capturing new ideas using Autodesk Sketchbook will save a bunch of space while making researching and finding previous ideas much easier. Thanks for a useful app. J. Heil

Awesome. I’d just like to say I’ve been a tattooist for 20 years. This app is something I’ve utilized from the start. I’ve tried a lot of other apps like procreate and I am still using this program because it is stripped down like a sketch book, but I can and do often use it to complete designs quickly without the mess a bunch or art supplies. This also tremendously cut down on cost. If you read this sketchbook I’d just like to say than you,I loved the recent update. I’d like to say is congratulations on getting complete control over your product, and I am looking forward to using it a long as it’s around. One last thing that I think would help you tremendously is that you should seriously ok into creating brushes that are aimed towards the tattoo industry. It’s a flourishing industry and I think you could make some awesome brushes to help us streamline what we do while making the brand more profitable. You’re welcome. Kisses and hugs, Ira Singleton

Small bug I’ve been facing. So the app is really great, honestly if I could rate half stars it would be 4 1/2 and not four stars, the issue mainly comes with this one bug I’ve been in countering, I just finished one of my pieces I made on it and instead of saving the final product it saved it at a point when it was still being worked on (specifically at the point just before I begin working on making an iridescent part of the picture). And when I tried to save it from in the thing itself, it gave me what it showed in the gallery which was the incomplete version. This is been happening for like about a month for me now and I feel like you might not know about this bug. It’s not the biggest thing but it is annoying to have to take a screenshot in the sketch and then crop it down so it’s not showing everything else because you don’t want to accidentally cut off a part of it. It’s not the biggest problem but it is annoying. I was hoping you guys could do something about that. I’m not gonna lie I haven’t been using you from the very beginning, I only found out about you guys in 2021 at school because that was the art application on the iPads we had, but I do feel like this is an oddity. for whoever has to read this review, I apologize for it being so long.

Got a glitch here! But great app. Sketchbook is a really good app but I’ve been introduced to some glitches. While I was trying to get everything set up I always put the main layer all the way on top of coloring and stuff like that from a scanned sketch. While I was doing that I wanted to change the background layer to a color, and once I inserted the color it didn’t show up it was just an original color (white), I didn’t mind it but then I started putting color into the sketch (from a different layer below the main sketch)but then the colors weren’t showing up and when I looked at the layers they were there(I wanted to see the layers). At first I thought I did something that made it glitch so I restarted the app but the same things happened but then I did some experimenting and went to main layer and colored it, even thought I don’t do it I wanted to see what was wrong or try to fix it to see if anything was wrong, the weird is that the colors didn’t go on top of the sketch but instead the were below the main sketch I was so confused so I wanted to write these glitches. (SHORT NOTICE: I checked everything in the layers but there nothing that proved that it was my fault)

My favorite art app :>. I have used lots of art apps but this one is my ultimate favorite :>. I really like this app and I use it a lot for my art. I’m not really sure the reason I like this app so much, it might be because it has a nice loose/free feel like the way I draw. All I know is that different artists have different styles and like different art apps (if they use art apps), so look around and find an app that works for you! Just keep trying and you’ll find what works best for you :>. Just some suggestions for things to add to this app are an option to have a grid on the canvas to help you line things up (if this is already a feature and I just can’t find it then sorry, I'm being dumb). I don’t know why, but when I draw on paper with grids or lines my art looks better than on paper without a grid. I think it helps me line up my art and see where I should put parts of my art :>. Another thing that would be a great addition to this wonderful app is the “fill” option filling in lines that are on a separate layer. I like to keep my layers really separate (like, REALLY really) so it would be great if this was a feature :>. It doesn’t need to be, though, just a suggestion. Thank you to the fantastic developers and the company who made this app, I really enjoy it and hope you keep up the good work!! :D

Best painting app but, please restore use of custom fonts in iPadOS 14. I’ve used SketchBook for mobile since the very first day the iPad was released on the market in 2010, back when most pundits dismissed the iPad as only good for entertainment but not for productivity. I proved that wrong using SketchBook for mobile, and had my first gallery exhibition of art made with SketchBook on the iPad that very same year, and still do. I’ve tried several other apps over the years including ProCreate, but always returned to this app. Once custom fonts could be installed on iPads, I also found this app very versatile for graphics work once I installed additional fonts with iFont. However, since Apple made security changes in iOS/iPadOS 14, custom fonts installed as profiles no longer show up in SketchBook for mobile because updates to the app have yet to address the problem. Please, restore access to custom fonts installed as profiles, and I’ll come back and move the stars to 5. If it worked in iPadOS 13, it should be possible in iPadOS 14 with your help. It’s important for many of us. Thank you.

Amazing app. I love it. I’ve had this app for, like, three or four years now and I absolutely LOVE it. In all the time I’ve had this app, it has not crashed or glitched, or lagged. Never. It works great with my IPad and doesn’t seem to take up much storage space which is great considering my IPad’s low storage space. I love how you can change your pen styles and how big your line is. It’s just an amazing app all the way through. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who loves to draw but doesn’t have enough paper to do so. Also I love how you can make different albums and name your work. Most of my art is Wings of Fire fanart and the ability to create new albums help me stay organized and keep my non-Wings of Fire art sticking out like a sore thumb from my Wings of Fire art. It’s also really easy to learn how to use the app which is great for people (like me) who get frustrated when they don’t know how to do something. Amazing app.

AMAZING APP, but…. This app is an absolutely amazing drawing app. It competes against Procreate in capabilities, but Procreate has a lot more brushes and better customization for the brushes built into the app. I glad to see the addition to premium, since it means this app will continue to receive updates. If any developers of this app are reading this, PLEASE. ADD. ANIMATION! I have been dying for animation capabilities in this app, but since it lacks it I use Procreate for animating. Procreate is annoying when it comes to animation, because you have to make groupings of layers if you want multiple layers per frame. If Sketchbook could add animation features similar to timeline styles (Where theres layers that store lines of frames) that are in Adobe Animate or in an animation app called RoughAnimator, Sketchbook would be the best app for animation. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel or take the lazy way out like Procreate. If you add a proper animation feature to this app I will definitely fall in love with this app again. IOS could really use an all in one app for drawing and animating!

I love the app! Would definitely recommend.. I love this app! I know I haven't used it for long, but I haven't had any problems with it so far. I don't have much experience with drawing, especially with digital art, but I'm still really happy with the results that came out of this app. I first downloaded this app to test a stylus pen. It didn't work, but I honestly don't care. I'm still glad I downloaded this app. I first tried the app and thought, "Eh. It's not that special." Later on I tried again with a different tool and realized, "Oh hey, this is pretty cool." I began drawing sunsets with only the basic tool set. I thought the only tools were.. the basic tool set. And then I discovered the whole world of brushes and art tools the app had. I immediately thought, "This is gonna be fun." I would definitely recommend this app to beginners like me. It's perfect to practice your digital art skills, and really easy to use. And of course, it won't always turn out the way you want it to. But with this app, you can make drawing extremely fun and easy!

It’s great!. So I keep on seeing negative reviews, but for one, there’s a line stabilizer AND a shape making tool, so you’re be able to draw cleanly. Also, even though it took me a while to get a hang of this app, but you can edit and personalize each brush(tool) and get your strokes to go from thick to thin, along with other things that other expensive softwares have. Those other things include being adding patterns, being making your own tool sets, being able to use the lasso to move parts of the art piece that you’re making, and having a lot of specific tools such as say Japanese brushes. You can find those. And pattern tools, to prevent recoloring of your art. And If you didn’t know, there used to be an Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, but the creators decided to improve the user experience and added all of those ‘pro’ features to the free version. I’ve seen art that I would’ve definitely thought was done in another software, and popular artists that use this app to this day. Even the App Store app has a tutorial that uses Autodesk professionally. The type of software doesn’t make the art, it’s the artist that makes the art. So I definitely recommend it, to all artists. Really, this can even be sort of used as a graphic software.

Wonderfully Refreshing, Thank You. You know, I haven’t used this Sketchbook application in ages. But, I was scrolling through my apps that needed updating and I noticed that you added an in-app purchase for additional features. I just could not believe it, I was overjoyed and equally stunned. It’s so very rare to find moral and ethical developers today that non-greedily charge a fair, one-time purchase, for new features. Again, I was just stunned. So, I updated this app that I have not updated in a seriously long time just so that I can show my support to you guys being so awesome and thoughtful. And, actually, any one-time IAPs that you release from now on, I will buy every single one of them right away, that’s a promise. I just cannot tell you how much I respect this ethical decision and you as a developer/company right now. Many thanks on being one of the few amazing and moral iOS app developers left out there. Thank you for not being predictably greedy like so many of your iOS counterparts. I hope you’re all doing well, thank you again for being rad and God bless. iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS 15.5

Erases My Work. I’ve had this app for over a year now, but only recently started using it again after maybe 7 months. As I’ve been drawing for a school assignment, all has been well and I was truly able to create an amazing drawing. Until the entire app froze. And in order to unfreeze it, I had to exit the app. The heartbreak I felt after 4 hours of working was surreal. When I came back to restart my drawing today however, I figured I ought to save every few minutes as I go along with my drawing in case of emergency. And so, I restarted my drawing and after 30 minutes, I decided to save the drawing. However, as it started to process, it turned to a black screen and exited the app all by its self, leaving my drawing unsaved and deleted. I’m really frustrated because the tools available with this app are so great, but I may need to find a new app to start over (for the third time) with in order to accomplish my assignment. As I think back to when I first started using the app, I remember that I previously had this issue, but I was able to resolve it by saving frequently. But as I test it now, it won’t save any amount of work I do.

Great App, with one Autodesk Flaw. Due to being a former CAD tech, I can tell anyone that the only features this needs, are a sizable grid, ortho type lock (straight lines), and the ability to use a basic coordinate center 0,0.. with built in scale reference object that can be turned on like the ruler, but, possibly two of them, meaning updating the ruler so a straight 90° degree angle for example can easily be made, with a basic scaling ability... and this app fills the gap for CAD techs like myself who worked on planning stage as well as the actual engineering plans (land desktop with civil), for your architect type drawings, to compliment or replace Illustrator/Photoshop.. But, yes, for architect type drawings, the lines producing a shadow if you cut and paste a layer makes the app not easily usable for production drawings unless you dont mind taking a lot longer and redrawing everything when you need to adjust/move something. Asides from these basic additions, and adjustment to how shadows/shading/blending is done automatically on line work, this app is wonderful. I need a razor sharp line, and spend a lot of eraser time if I use the tools built in to say draw a square because zoom in, you will see two/three colors of blended shading. So, now, the paint bucket does not work correctly in those areas.

Apple Pencil Glitch. Ii really like it, but it is rather hard to operate. I enjoy using it nonetheless. Thanks. Overall great app. Very compatible with Apple Pencil, although, and this may just be my iPad, it does glitch out from time to time and stops working. From there I exit the app and swipe around, the pencil working completely fine. It could be that I’m overwhelming the app, because without the pencil the quality is amazing, but it is rather frustrating to have to exit and re-enter. I like the functions very much, although the amount of buttons and layers is confusing but the videos, I found, were hard to access. Overall, great app, 8/10 would use for free sketching and drawing, realistic tools and wonderful performance other than one minor glitch! Please respond on how to fix, I know you are busy, but sometimes it doesn’t save what I did when it glitches out because of the pencil. I would like to know how to fix or at least what I need to do to make it happen less. Thank you, Autodesk Team!

Pretty good don’t take this seriously this is just my thoughts!😁. Okay so this game is amazing there’s great quality there’s great tools but the problem is you have to be a truly good artist like you have to know what you’re doing you have to be prepared and stuff so I suggest that if you aren’t due to drawing and you’re not the best at this then don’t download this app because it’s more for like people who are more better at art this is just a saying for people who are here who think there are is horrible which everybody’s heart is exactly the same and it’s very pretty but if you’re like kind of new to art or you’re not the best at it then I suggest not downloading this app because this is more for like I don’t really know how to explain it but it’s more like people who know what they’re doing they know what tools you need to use for which and when I first unloaded this game it was because I was so confused and I wasn’t into art so a year later when I knew how to draw pretty much anything I waited and I promised myself I would wait a year until I downloaded this app again because I had other things to do so I downloaded this app again today and I am pretty good at it we just have to know what tools they are and what you need to use them for byeeee 🤘

Good, but could be better. I like Sketchbook a lot, it has a good variety of brushes and is smooth on certain devices, but a problem has been occurring a lot lately. Whenever I begin to open a sketch it takes a really, really long time and so I close the app and open it again only for half or all of my drawing to be corrupted and disappear. Like today I made something and tried to open it again to make sure there were no mistakes only for it to take a long time to load and so I closed the app and opened it, and once doing that, half of the layers with some of the sketch on it were gone, and I spent a long time on that drawing too. It made me angry and sad, and did it all over again. Do I think this is a good app? Yes, I wish this didn’t happen though. Another thing I think should be added is accounts, so if I draw something on one device, I can make another account and put it on that other device so I can post it or whatever. But my main problem is the disappearing problem. Anyway, I like Sketchbook a lot, but I wish it could be better.

Great but forgets to save. I’ve been using this app for my digital art for over 6 years, maybe even 7. From only just that, you can tell that I’ve really enjoyed this app. It has a large variety of brushes even if you don’t have the pro version, amazing tools, and can put great quality in your work. It even has a screen recording tool if you want to do speed paints. I honestly think it’s one of the best mobile art apps out there but I have one major problem with it, and that is that it sometimes has a hard time saving progress, and unfortunately I’m not the only one who gets frustrated when they find out that hours into your work hasn’t been saved or restored. It also deletes layers for some reason as well as crashing multiple times when making something that has more layers. I could get away with this by constantly saving a drawing but it’s still stressful to say the least. Sometimes it eventually saves your progress thankfully and sometimes it doesn’t, permanently leaving stuff you’ve already done. It’s weird, but besides that, it’s a very cool app.

Very intuitive BUT.... I recently purchased and iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to use for sketching ideas for painting and to display reference photos while painting. I purchased the top 5 sketchbook apps and have given them a try, Autodesk is my favorite so far and here's why: The interface when you are sketching is very intuitive, especially if you've ever used a Wacom tablet before. It's easy and simple to adjust your brush settings mid-sketch. I was happy with my first sketch experience before purchasing the Pro version but I will say after purchasing it, you do get quite a lot of neat tools. Overall, creating in this app is a breeze and so much fun, I love it! The BUT: The "Gallery" interface where the sketches are stored needs to be improved, the menus and navigations don't make sense and I find myself getting frustrated. My only other gripe is that you cannot use the multiple app feature while in this program. In most of the other sketchbook apps you can pull up a reference picture in Safari or your a Photos and draw while viewing it, but not in this one. If they could allow fully functioning multiple app use I wouldn't have a need or want for any of the other sketchbook apps.

Excellent App, a Couple Suggestions. This is a fantastic drawing app, and I am continually astounded by the things it can do. It doesn’t lag even when I have an admittedly absurd number of layers hanging about, and the line correction tool is extremely well-done. However, there are a couple of things I think this app would benefit from. As a webcomic artist, I would personally really like the ability to import new fonts- until then, I’m stuck doing my formatting in photoshop, which works, but using two different applications (On two different systems, notably) is not ideal. Additionally, I would love to be able to ‘favorite’ tools from various classes and have a personalized toolbar where they are- this would save me a lot of time scrolling through the options and remembering which brush I really liked that one time. I would also really like an easy way to copy/paste selected areas on the mobile version (I do all my work on an iPad Pro and it works fantastically), and maybe an easier way to make straight lines symmetrical to the edges of the frame- the only way I’ve found to work consistently is the rectangle tool, which isn’t always the best option. In any case, I adore this app, and I’m really happy that the full version is now completely free. I can’t wait to see the new features you implement in the future.

Almost Perfect. I love love LOVE this app!!! It is far much easier to use than most other drawing apps and you get some very impressive tools for free. It’s the nearly perfect, especially for people new to drawing digital. Free and easy to use; basically perfect - but there’s just one issue... I like to utilize the Time Lapse feature quite a bit, as it’s fun to both watch my process and upload it for others to see. However, I’ve been experiencing an issue where the app doesn’t save my time lapse video, sometimes with a screen blatantly confirming the save has been uploaded to my photo library but not leaving a single trace anywhere on my iPad. This has been happening for quite a while now and is quite frustrating, to say the least. I’ve lost hours upon hours worth of recordings and I have no idea why. Is there any explanation? Are there any ways to recover the lost videos? Help is very needed, please and thank you. It’s quite depressing to spend over three hours on a piece, excitedly expecting to watch the process video only to have it disappear entirely.

A Very Good App For Beginners. I am not very good at drawing anything currently. I bought a pen/stylus for my iPad about 4 days ago to dabble in drawing. I had been doodling on this app for 1-2 hours a day, for 4 days and already I’m seeing improvement on my work. I don’t know if this app is good for more advanced art, since I’m as green as they come. But since I saw improvement in only a few hours, I would strongly recommend this app for other people looking to try out drawing. I liked the selection of brushes and the easy-to-follow interface. I was able to learn where all the important buttons were very quickly. It surprisingly wasn’t too overwhelming for me when I was going through the brush/pen/eraser options. They are categorized well and have brief descriptions to make it easy to pick an appropriate brush. And the fact this is free is an incredible bonus, this app feels like a paid-for app, probably because there’s no ads that pop up while you draw. It’s seems well polished for me so far. It has earned a five stars from me.

Incredible. I cannot believe how much is packed into this free app! With a full color spectrum (or copic marker colors) and the insanely large library of brushes, there is no limit to the types of 2D art one can create in this app..the marks left by each tool are so realistic/detailed, it will feel like youre working in your favorite medium IRL and not on your phone/tablet. My only complaint (and why i am giving only 4 stars) is with the interface itself. It is awkward and slow to change brushes or colors, and the “undo” button requires two steps to get to. There is a one step undo in the bottom left but it almost never works, seemingly only undoing a stroke when accidentally touched. All types of transformation (select, copy, cut, paste, transform, duplicate, etc) are found buried; worse, theyre not all even together, with some in layers and others in page layout (also where you’ll find Fill, which makes more sense with brushes no?) I do wish the UX were considered more, model off of an existing structure/format that has proven the test of time. Sure, alter it to fit the sketchbook aesthetic but no need to reinvent the wheel!

Underrated app. Just some suggestions.. Cool app! I have been using this since 2016. I had a wonderful time working with this drawing app since my childhood. There are no ads to distract me and it’s simple to use. I have been using it from iPad to mobile. And tried it with PC. It’s very good I would use this out of all the drawing apps I ever used because it is simply just perfect. Although, I have a problem and some suggestions. The problem is the fact that I have been using this app on mobile and there is no way to undo. I tried everything to undo on mobile but I couldn’t. A couple of other drawing apps that I’ve used have the undo feature for mobile. So I suggest you add the undo feature for mobile. And not just for iPad and PC. It really bothers me because when I make a mistake on my drawing or an unwanted feature, I would have to spend the entire time trying to fix it. So please add undo for mobile. If you did I would be very pleased.

Love it. Okay, if your more experienced at drawing digitally, then this isn’t for you. But if your like me and your new to it,I really suggest this app. It lets you import photos and you can outline your photos, you can make speed paints, and it lets you use copics for free. If you don’t know what copics are they are alcohol based markers, great for mixing and blending. Their usually used for graphic art and other very intense art (and I mean like more than a sketch.) I’ve been using it for a few days and I just broke my cheek bone. It lets you zoom in so if your like me and you just broke your cheekbone and your half blind (which is very unlikely) then you can still make art and it doesn’t look sloppy. It never really messes up and glitches like ibis paint. You don’t need a apple pen to use this, although you could use one if you like to. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because it is a little glitchy when your sizing the photo to the size you want when you import it. I’d also like a little more copic colors, but other than that this is the best app for digital art starters. (AFTER NOTE) I’m not changing my mind on this app that’s it’s not great, but I’d love a few more presets for pages. Thank you for reading, I may make more notes so don’t think this is the last (Unless if I forget)!

Could use some improvements. As a hobby artist, this app is great for my doodling and sketching needs. It’s fairly intuitive and I love the variety of brushes with the option of customization for endless types of brushes. I also really appreciate the Copic brushes and colors because I’ve always loved the color selection of copies but have never been able to afford them. I do have some suggestions and bugs though. I seem to be unable to rotate my phone and get the canvas to rotate, which is rather annoying. I checked that my rotation lock was off, but it wouldn’t flip. Another issue I have is with the brush library. I tried multiple times to move my favorite brushes from different sets into “basics”, which is quickest to access, but sometimes, it randomly deletes brushes and I don’t know why. It’s really quite frustrating because I have to go into preferences and reset my brush library every time it happens. I’d like to be able to create my own custom library sections to store my favorite brushes, or simply add a “favorite” button and copy any brushes that I tag as my favorite to a section that resides at the top of the library. All in all, it’s a good app and I’ll definitely keep using it, but I could be made more intuitive and easy to use. Also, huge thanks and kudos for making this app free, I really appreciate it when good tech is available for free.

I’m not sooo sure about this app. So this app is really cool but the tools are not so great i really enjoy the app but i really like adding in other pictures onto the paper so I can trace over them or add more details but unfortunately it is not allowed that which I am kind of upset about but overall this game is really cool with all. It’s great tools, but I wouldn’t really recommend the game because it’s a really cool drawing app but it’s not that good. I am very upset about the fact that they do not have where I can draw or trace anything else because I have very shaky hands and it’s very hard to me to draw and I don’t really like drawing my own things I rather draw on top of some thing and I’m not trying to say anything hurtful or downfall about this game but it’s very good but does have a lot of downsides they’re gonna I try to do the blending and I try to do the blending when hundred percent it wouldn’t come out or when I even turned up the size up a bit but it’s the wind blend. I had to turn the blending really low in order for it till you know do it thing I love this game don’t give me wrong but some changes.

Very powerful (+ some ideas for stuff). I absolutely love this app. In my opinion, it's the most organized and powerful drawing app on the App Store currently. There's so many possibilities added as of now that exceed what any other app has in the best way possible, and I appreciate that. However, I do feel that it's missing a small handful of things that some other iOS apps actually do have. People might actually need these for certain sketches, but that could be prejudiced or biased, as this is what I've personally needed for some sketches. Here's the things I'd thought of: • Importing custom fonts for use in the text tool, presumably .ttf and .otf files. • Adding effects to images, text, and other pre-existing layers. (i.e., glow, stroke, blur, drop shadow, etc.) • More available locations to import photos as a layer, like iCloud Drive. • The ability to snap-align photos and text to the center of both axes, for accuracy purposes. That's what I think should be added, but they're all just my thoughts. It would be nice if you took at least some of them into consideration. I also noticed that the option to import photos from the sharing module stopped appearing. I assume that it must've been removed. If you could re-add that, that'd be nice, as I found it quite efficient and never had any problems with it. Overall though, Sketchbook is truly a wonderful app. I thank you so much for doing a great job with this, and I hope to continue seeing this app prosper.

Please add keyboard shortcuts for iPad Pro!!!. I love using Sketchbook on my new iPad Pro (late 2018 version) - There’s a decent amount of brushes available and I haven’t had a drawing yet where I’ve reached my limit in layers. Some of the tools available are incredible helpful for some graphic design elements. I do wish there were a few more effects brushes added so I could try more new things with my artwork, but I can’t really complain considering all you get in one free package. One thing I can’t stress enough, though: this app needs keyboard shortcuts support for any keyboards compatible with the iPad. I have the most recent iPad and the Apple brand soft folio keyboard to go with it, but I am unable to use familiar keyboard shortcuts like Command+C to copy or Command+V to paste. Adding these shortcuts would save me and any other artists with a keyboard loads of time, which can be important when you’re on a deadline or just trying to get into the flow of a new drawing. Other than those two minors tweaks, I love this app and everything I’ve done with it so far. I can’t wait to see what else I’m able to create with it!

Love it, but a bug :(. So I’ve been using this app for like 5 months, I just draw mindless doodles and add stuff onto pictures of my pets. I loves this app so much, but today there is a bug and I’m sad. For some reason the color making thingy isn’t working (sorry if I don’t use correct words as I am only a child and do not know what it’s called), I can’t create colors for some reason. I don’t know why, I may just accidentally have turned something off. I don’t know, I can’t use half the features in this thing! I’m actually very sad because I wanted to create a little cute animated picture, but just can’t seem to be able to create colors. I’ve tried EVERYTHING that I know! I’ve closed out the app, I’ve created a new sketch, I’ve clicked about every button! I don’t know if I’m being stupid or if there is a bug, but I think I may just be being stupid. If you are the developer reading this (you probably aren’t), then please reply if you know a way to fix this, or if I’m being stupid! -EDIT Never mind I found out, I was just being stupid.🤣🤣🤣

Love it! But there’s a glitch.. I enjoy the app a lot, honestly. It’s free, simple, and helpful. But there’s a bug that really irritates me, mainly because you can only get rid of it by downloading and redownloading the app, and the process of doing so can be extremely annoying and tiring. The glitch? Basically at random points in time, even after it’s been only 2 days since redownloading again, I’ll be coloring or doing linework, and the same color will look like it’s on another layer, despite it all being on one layer. It can seem minor, but it can be super distracting when it comes to the final product of the art, and makes the whole thing look messy. I have friends I asked about this, and they say they’ve had the same problem, and the only solution I’ve discovered is redownloading over and over again, frequently. I’d really hate to let this go, since I’ve tried other art platforms like MediBang, which proved to be super laggy and a generally useless and unintuitive platform. Other than that, I enjoy the app and would recommend to anyone.

Amazing, few things. This app is amazing and it is so nice, not much bugs or anything! Surprisingly this was the first drawing app I had, and I’m really pleased with how simple yet easy it is. But I have a few suggestions. It would be super easy if you could be on another layer, but fill in the shape on a separate layer, without filling I the background. Let me explain it more, if you could like select a shape to color in without being on that layer it would be very useful. Of course I realize that I could take the time and do it right along my line art, but that takes forever, then I have to erase some of the things that went outside the line, and then end up lining up my color again! Then I might want some tabby markings on a cat, and I have to rinse and repeat the process! Even though this is a minor detail that I bumped into, this doesn’t take away the fact that this app is awesome. I hope you see my point in the whole “ color” thing, and I thank you for reading this long thing. Once again this app is truly amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone no matter the skill! And I would like to say thanks to the developers!

Best Art app out there!. I have been looking for a good artistic app for a very long time, one that has a great selection of brushes and tools, and one that will let you use more than one layer, because most of the art apps I’ve gotten have only let you use up to three layers, and that gets pretty annoying. This app is exactly what I have been looking for. The detail is really good for being digital, and finally being able to have more than one section of tools really excites me. It is also a lot easier to use than most other art apps I’ve gotten. One thing I don’t understand is why you have to sign up. I’ve signed up to this app before because it gave me a free trial for a couple of days, and I loved it. Now I have been using this app for over a year and it is wanting me to sign up again. I’m a little wary of this, because I don’t know if it will randomly make me sign in to access my drawings, or just to use the app. So far I’ve been good. Thank you for making this wonderful app free!!

Best. Honestly I really love this app because it is just the best. I mean like you can record it too it’s like the best thing ever and I just want to thank the makers of this app so very much for making it because it is amazing I love it so much I can Make Recording‘s of it to that is just the best thing ever and I just really love the app I mean it’s not like everything I want let me just get my words together like normally speed draw things are on computers but this is so easy to use and the things are so clear and it’s really easy to use like I mean I love it and I just really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really love it and I don’t know if I’ve said this yet but I love it and thank you so much for making this app anyways I think I should end this book novels saying I’m making of a review here because I mean honestly I don’t want to make you waste your time on reading my review even though there’s other reviews but this is get a five star because it is amazing the end this was written by a YouTuber named koalations

I love this but one problem.... Everything works perfectly and I love how easy it is to control and the smooth drawing but there's only two things wrong, every time I double tap in the corner to undo it it draws on my drawing and I have to zoom out to make sure I don't mess it up. One more thing, once I create my picture and when I go to color it in, can you add a fill bucket? Because I have spent over 4 hours trying to color that SMALL picture without messing anything up, in corners I've gotta lower the size of the brush then when there's a big open space Instead of spending another 30 mins or so I have to turn it up and again and then back down, I mess up I have to do the redo button and then it messes it up more. So what I'm suggesting, can you please add the undo and redo button to the top with the other buttons and then add a fill bucket? It would be greatly appreciated, it's not much to ask but I can deal the undo and redo button but I can not be spending 3-5 hours trying to color in my whole painting when I can paint it in just a tap of a button. Thank you.

Great sketching app!. Great app! I’ve had this app maybe for a month but I already love it. The features are a lovely mix of creative and technical that I can really appreciate. I also love that you can purchase the extra tools without having to commit to some yearly payment plan. I’ve only found one bug so far that keeps this review from being five stars. When I first started using the app, I noticed that using the hold-touch-eyedropper function, even by accident, would cause the app to effectively crash. I could still access all of my projects, but none of the tools would make any mark whatsoever until I went out of the app, closed it out, and restarted it. After I turned the long-hold-touch shortcut off, the bug didn’t pop up as often, but every once in a while, it still does act like I’ve activated the eyedropper and the app will ‘crash’ again. The bug never happens when I manually go into the color wheel and click the eye dropper button, so I think the bug is linked to the gesture shortcut that I can’t seem to turn off. The bug isn’t a super big deal, but it is a little annoying, especially if you do like to use that shortcut and keep it switched on, and it is irritating to have my work interrupted because I have to restart the app. It would be great if the developers could fix it in the next update. Otherwise, the app is great for drawing and sketching and I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing app, but…. I love Sketchbook! From the wide variety of colors to the amazing set of brushes, sketchbook is one of the best free drawing apps for mobile. However, I do have some concerns. For starters, I find that the app freezes unexpectedly whenever I’m drawing. Usually, when this happens, I leave the app and go back in. Unfortunately, whenever this happens I lose all of my progress. This bug is getting extremely annoying. The second problem I find is the fact that you can’t (or at least I can’t) select specific parts of my drawing and move them, stretch them or delete them. This gets really annoying when I have a piece of line work that I love, but is at the wrong angle and since I can’t select it and move it, I have to start over on the line. My final beef with this app is coloring. I find that the fill took is super annoying and freezes on me or ignore me when I touch it 😂. I wish there was a way that you could be able to freely color your drawing by hand, without it going out of the lines. Shading is quite difficult, since there’s no real tool for it, but I’ve learned to live without a shading tool. Thanks for reading! Happy drawing

Great app except for two things. Hi! This app is my go to art app and I use it all the time. There is just one problem. Whenever I draw, the app crashes randomly. Sometimes while in the middle of me drawing, sometimes while I’m deciding what color I’m choosing. It either crashes and exits the app or freezes, and whenever it does either of those things not only do I have to quit the app, I lose a little bit of progress in my drawing. I don’t know if I’m the only one with this problem, but if I’m not, please try to your best to fix it. There is one more thing, though it isn’t much of a problem, more of a request. I cant seem to find the drag-and-drop feature, where you drag a dot of color to a spot you’d like to fill in and it fills it in for you. Sketchbook may not have this feature, or I just may not be able to find it. If the feature is not available in this app, I’d recommend adding it, because I know many people use it and I would like to as well. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, have a great day!

Best iPhone Drawing App Ever!. I want to start out saying that this app is one of the best things that has happened to me. I got the premium version after a year of using it because of the layer grouping and the fact that it was super cheap (only a $1.99 one time purchase!). Overall, great. The tools are diverse and all work beautifully, and also allow for almost infinite customization. (And works just as great offline as it does online.) The interface it’s self can be a bit confusing at first, but it’s easy to understand once you get the hang of it. I would say that the only draw backs are the selection tool, which requires a lot of back and forth between the transform tool, as well as the brushes being a bit pixelated, and the fact that the background is just a solid color. A small but appreciated feature, (that I saw on a different review) would be more options for the background, such as a crumpled paper, lined paper, graph paper, etc. This app also exists on the computer for anyone interested, but it cost much more. Really though, this was a well thought out and useful app, as well as the only app that I draw on (at least for my phone.) Just make sure to save you’re pictures elsewhere if you don’t want to lose them!

Fun for sketching, but.... I’ve used sketchbook on and off for years- it has my favorite sketch brushes and it’s really easy to doodle things in, the drawing itself feels really organic, I can draw like I’m drawing it on actual paper when I’m actually on a screen. That feeling is difficult for any other app I use to capture, and what keeps me coming back to sketchbook again and again. But the thing that drives me off of sketchbook and onto other apps in the first place is that coloring is a bit difficult without clipping masks on mobile. I’ve read that there are clipping masks available on the desktop version of the app, and I would really love for it to be added on the mobile version as well!! That’s pretty much all it would take for me to move to drawing on autodesk full time. The locking feature is an okay stand in, but I prefer separating my colors over multiple layers rather than keeping it all on one, because it’s easier to fix if I mess up. It’s frustrating that an app this nice is missing something a lot of other drawing apps have, especially when it makes the drawing process much smoother. Please add clipping masks to the mobile app!

I have a problem, PLEASE HELP!. Dear Autodesk Sketchbook developers, I used this app a few months ago, and I had a few nice sketches and drawings that were in my gallery. I really enjoyed it and all the features were easily accessible, making drawing a great experience. The thing is, I never saved the drawings, exported them, shared, etc. They were all on my phone and vulnerable. So, I hadn’t touched the app until recently, when I realized there was a new update. But I had a problem with my Apple ID ( I have an iPhone), and I could not access the app without updating ( which was something I couldn’t do!). In the end, my only choice was to delete and reinstall using a different ID, but all my drawings were gone, sadly. I never had the chance to save them. So is there anything you can do to help me retrieve my sketches, like a backup software or something else. I honestly thought that my drawings would be linked to my account and saved, but it was not. Is this a lost cause, or is there anyway you can help me? Thank you for reading, and I really hope you can help me find a solution to my problem. Sincerely, Concerned user

beautiful ❤️. this is so great ! I work on it everyday and night ! I drew a person some clothes and even the logo you can do anything . To be honest I’m really obsessed it’s great for beginners too ! My friend Used this app and she drew a lot of things , Even me ! I just have a few suggestions maybe you could but like emoji painting like you can just draw along with it and when you erase some stuff their is like an undo that you can erase one this but not the entire thing , like if I’m drawing a person and when I zoom out I accidentally draw something on the body if I erase it I’m going to have to do the body part again. But other than that it’s really good! I hope the person reading this will download it , if you don’t it’ll be the worst mistake Of your life , I showed it to all my art class friends and they loved it! Again , it’s really good I just have suggestions ! It’s a really good game don’t forget to download it !

GET THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. I love this game. It’s probably the best on the app store- definitely one of my top 3 favorite apps on my tablet. This game has NO ads (airplane mode or not) and I don’t think you need WiFi for it either! This game is my favorite. I love it way too much LOL. Get this game! Also, it has NO monthly subscription for special tools (all are FREE! 😱) and it has maybe ten different main tools (50 if you count the extras) and even the erasers can be used in a picture! (Edit) Dangit. I had to delete the game because of some stupid glitch. I was hopping games, then went to the sketchbook. My art was there, but half of it was glitched white. I tried saving it to gallery atleast three times and got kicked. I’m redownloading now. I’m really disappointed though. (Edit) it’s been about three hours and it still only shows the downloading screen. I was heartbroken when the glitch happened and I’m wanting to cry. I want this game back but this stupid dumb glitch took it from me. I’m looking for something to replace it but nothing can. Give me this freaking game back. (Edit) it’s been four hours now. Still not working. 🤬 (Edit) It’s been two hours now. Still won’t download. Please reply. (Edit) I’m redownloading again. Probably gonna have to wait another six hours.

Awesome app for anyone who wants to draw!. It’s a great app for all kinds of art, it’s very user friendly and is simple enough on a surface level for those without art experience to be able to understand it, but it’s deep enough for people to master is and make some stunning artwork. It has many features that can help you make the best art you can, for example, you can lock transparency, which makes it so that only parts that have already been drawn on in that layer can be drawn on again, so you don’t draw outside the line. Best of all, it’s free! It has no adds, no subscriptions, and has no limits to how much you can draw. Highly recommend this app. Side note, there are some downsides (though I can overlook them.) When using the eye drop function, the color wheel won’t always disappear and I need to close the color wheel, open it up again, and re select the eyedropper, also, the lines get blurry when moving them. This last bug was the worst one I found. One of my drawing got corrupted or something, and I couldn’t access it anymore. When I view it through the slideshow, the bottom half of the drawing was al bugged. This needs fixing because that could ruin a drawing that someone might have spent a lot of time on. Otherwise, it is excellent.

Amazing app! Suggestions. This art app is so great!! I’ve been using it for about a year now and I love just about everything about it. I’ve used other digital drawing apps in the past (like Medibang), but this is the app I found the highest liking to. This app is so, so good, and I’m definitely going to be using it for a long while. There are some things that could be added to this. One thing is a pen tool. Not the actual brush, but the tool were you can tap, make points that you can shape to lines curves. This is a great tool for line art and could be VERY useful to users on here. Another thing that could be added is for users to be able to create their own selection of brushes. We can only have one already created pin at a time, but a lot of us mix different brushes from other pins. Like I almost always use the Inking Pen, Fountain Pen, Colorless Round Brush, Hard Eraser, Hair Brush, Airbrush, Pencil Pal, and the Synthetic Round Bristle Brush in each of my works, and they almost all come from different pins. It would be helpful if we didn’t have to go searching for certain brushes each time we want them. This really, really is a great drawing app, and I definitely recommend it to people who may or even may not try it out. I hope my two small suggestions help, as they could be helpful to other users and myself. I love this app so much! Can’t wait to see what other great things come out of it.

Best I have found!. Most of the other drawing apps have a “ premium” option, this one doesn’t, if it does I don’t know about it. A love the options to change the ink flow with pressure. There are SO MANY kind of tools and all of them help you create professional looking and feel work. Other really great features include the complimentary color rectangle at the top( love that one) and the different tools like multiple symmetry tools and the fact you can change the line. I don’t like that they save to the cloud on apple… but I generally don’t save my work ( just don’t like it enough). And the colors are very nice and I appreciate the color and texture effects that the different brushes give. I know I am long winded so I let you find the rest out for your self. Developers Note : I think the option to save to the cloud or gallery would be beneficial. Also a community tab where you can share your work and receive feedback! Thanks for your time and effort in this app I love it so much!!!

PLEASE FIX THIS. when u make a wallpaper on sketchbook then u save it for some reason it’s slightly off it don’t fit the iPhone X screen correctly.....the reason I know this l...is because I like to take a screenshot of my home screen with apps on it and then move all my app off the first page and it looks like you have apps there but it’s really just the screensaver but I can’t do that now....because wen I use sketchbook save because I do like to add stuff to the screenshot....I save it and wen i apply as home screen....the apps don’t line up and on the top right corner u can see a thin white line seeing that it’s not flush with the screen of the iPhone X.....and yes I know about the motion turning that off or on that’s not the reason it’s not lined up did it both ways this is the only app that does it.....but this is the only app I use to add to my screenshot I take to make my home screen wallpapers....please fix this....can make a wallpaper without it because don’t....willing to send proof of what I’m talking bout if necessary....I just need this little fix

Can’t access custom palettes AT ALL on iPad. When I primarily used this app on my iPhone, I remember a huge update that allowed for saving multiple custom palettes. Being able to save and use multiple custom palettes was an AMAZING addition. When I got a new iPad to continue my work on a bigger screen, I was disappointed to find out that I can’t access color swatches AT ALL. No matter how many times I hit the “::::” button and the rainbow grid button, instead of pulling up the custom palettes they just do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The app worked perfectly on my iPhone so it makes no sense for such an essential feature to not work on my iPad. I’ve even tried deleting and reinstalling the app but that didn’t fix the issue. If this is a common issue among iPad users, PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! Autodesk Sketchbook has been my FAVORITE drawing app for years because of its easy-to-understand features and interface. I don’t want to be forced to switch to a competitor because of a MAJOR issue that could probably be fixed with an update. I would’ve given a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for this problem because not being able to access custom palettes is a HUGE deal breaker.

Great Drawing App But Could Use A Small Amount Of Changes. I love sketchbook, it has many brush and pencil styles, a unlimited amount of layer possible and an intuitive menu making finding everything incredibly easy without getting in the way of you drawing. The app is great for people who are drawing for the first time or if experienced people just want to draw anywhere without bringing a computer with them. There is a few features that I would like Autodesk to add. It would be nice if the fill tool was like a smart fill tool. What I mean by this is that the fill tool will only fill until a gap get to a certain thickness. I find it a bit annoying when I am trying to fill in a drawing and it floods everywhere, luckily there is the undo button. Another thing to change could be a way so that the gradient tool had a mode where the middle colour was just the two colours perfectly merged and so the gradient would be seamless. A final addition which would be my favourite is the addition to share a drawing document with someone else. I would love it if I could just invite my friend and he would help out in a drawing project. All in all, with the 3 changes/additions I made, this app gets a 5 star rating but without those changes it get a good 4 stars. I recommend getting the app if you just feel like drawing or if you are getting into drawing.

(~^-^)~ Absolute Perfection ~(^-^~). This is, by far, the best free drawing app I’ve ever used. It has no ads, no in app purchases, and doesn’t collect any of your data. It’s also really easy to work out what to do. I accidentally skipped the tutorial, but after a while of messing around with it, I have a pretty good idea of how everything works. There are heaps of brushes, blenders, and erasers, and each one of those has advanced settings (which are also really easy to use) so you can make them exactly how you like. I feel that I discover something new about the app every other day, like how you can easily turn the brush you’re using into an eraser version of it, or create colour palettes, or change the tolerance of the fill feature so you can fill a specific colour even if the colours next to it are really similar. Many apps only work well if you use an Apple Pencil. This app is not included in those. I draw with my finger, and I can still create art that looks good. I highly recommend downloading Sketchbook, as it is completely free, has no ads, super easy to use, and has so many features. Some reviews talk about it lagging, but that has never happened to me so it has probably been fixed. Thanks for reading and have a nice day :)

Great app but a BIG bug found😕. Hi! I have played this game for a few months, and so far it has been a 5 star game, until now. I just found a bug that prevents me from colouring my pictures. I pressed the ‘randomizer’ button, wanting to know what it does, but it won’t let me change the colour at all! I can now only use black, the random colours and the ones I have previously used(not many). I cannot change the shade or colour, and it is a very annoying bug. Until this gets fixed, I have to draw only sketches. Please fix this! Btw, this bug is on mobile. Thankyou for reading this 💜

Awesome app!. I really recommend this app because, this app has amazing tools, is good for professional and beginner artists and has great graphics too!I am a beginner digital artist and using this has helped me improve so much! I’ve been trying to look for so many apps that have good graphics, are free, and have understandable tools! When I found this, I instantly knew this was the one! I hope that whoever is reading my review gets a positive message and like I said before totally recommend it. Maybe some of you guys enjoy using this app while some might find it difficult , but this app is just the one ! I gave it four stars though as I think that the app could make more kind of tools( brushes) like procreate as it could really help people with different styles . But , other than that... this app is amazing! UwU

I love this app but it’s driving me insane.. I only have one complaint, besides from this one complaint I’m quite satisfied with the app. I have never written a review before as I have never felt the need, however, the pure rage I have felt in the last few hours has driven me to write this. The freezing and lagging. It’s been doing this for a while, I can’t pinpoint just when but for most of the time I’ve had this app. Before today I have always just been able to close the app and restart it and it’s fixed itself, and it’s been nothing more than a slight inconvenience. However, today I would start drawing and then after five minutes it would begin to lag and then freeze where I would have to wait a number of minutes for it to fix itself. The amount of times I had to close it and restart it in order to actually finish a segment of the drawing, is maddening, so much so that I’ve had to export it to Procreate in order to actually finish it with out having an aneurism. I hope someone reads this and fixes the problem as I much prefer this app over Procreate.

The best drawing app ever!. This drawing platform is the best platform for things ranging from practicing your drawing skills to advanced sketches. I personally love the fact that the app is free and that there is no possible limit to how much things you can do! Surprisingly, I usually do better using my finger to draw than using a stylus, so don’t worry if you feel like you need to buy more stuff, because you would just be wasting money! I have tried dozens of different drawing apps and by far, this is the one you need. I use this app for lots of reasons and mostly to illustrate books of my own. My conclusion is that I love this app and I would recommend this app to you, even if you’re not that great at art.

Letting Me Down.. I have been on this app for a while now, and I enjoy every last minute of using it. Although, something has been happening that hinders me from even STARTING UP the app. It drives me absolutely nuts. I would tap on the app, it would direct me to my last drawing, but then, it would then show the “log in” screen (which is fine I guess, aside from the fact I had ALREADY MADE AN ACCOUNT). Then I would try to tap the “sign in” button, and literally nothing would happen. I would wait 20 minutes and still nothing. I would refresh, still nothing. I would even tap the “create account” button, and guess what, still nothing. I cannot even use the app anymore. If you can find a way to help me out, it would be appreciated.

Awesome app down load this app right now. I have had this app for a few months now it’s it is so good . It’s had improved my drawing and helped me discover new ways to draw .It is so easy to draw and when you go to the setting section you can do gestures to make drawing EASIER I hope you download this app . (ps. I just wish you could rate more than just five cuz if you could I would rate it a million out of a million .) DOWNLOAD THIS APP 😀

Good but could be better. Hi! This app is really good and great for all artists. It has everything you need in to draw and some extra bits. I’d say this is more for sketching but I don’t question this because of its name. There are a few little tweaks and problems with it but my main one is that I would like shortcuts. As a left hander, the redo and undo button are placed in a rather odd and uncomfortable place that makes it feel weird having to press it and I want that double tap to undo and triple tap to redo shortcut. It slows down the drawing process too. My suggestion is to be able to have those shortcuts or make different buttons in different places (as in being customisable so the right handed people have their way too). Overall the app is really great and I enjoy using it! Please take my suggestion into consideration. Thank you!

Fix the save to gallery issue. Love the app and the variety of tools and colours that we get for using the free app — just the exporting part via mobile is very difficult. I have many sketches and tried to export using the zoom out + selecting multiple but it stops the ‘share’ option once I get to three pieces. Further, when I do it piece by piece, it takes me back to the main sketching page and I have to go through the ‘gallery’ tab again but the page freezes and I have to restart the app. Otherwise it’s great, but the exporting part to have the images saved on my phone gallery is very difficult and time consuming.

Brilliant. I have only just started drawing digitally and I have to say this is way better than any program I have come across, it’s simple, easy to use, and while photoshop may have more shapes and options, this has far more brushes and textures, I would choose this any day, not to mention you can link this app to your devientart account and upload directly from the app!!, the only thing I am a little disappointed over is the fact that you can transfer work from one device to another, that’s the only thing missing to make this app perfect.

Great app!. I was looking for any free drawing app for a long time. I got so bored and tired that i was willing to try anything. I just wanted a free drawing app with a simple layer system. I thought this app would just be another one constantly begging you to pay but it exceeded my expectations by far! It’s completely free, with no brushes to buy or features to unlock for money! It has a massive variety of brushes and erasers and blending tools! The preface is pretty simple and easy to use. It has everything a full paying professional program has. As I said before, there are SO MANY BRUSHES! You can easily play around with different styles and backgrounds. The touch and drag system is nice, and it even has a stabiliser! I draw on my iPhone with my finger, and I can say that it’s very easy to use and produces very lovely drawings! I love drawing and now I can do it wherever I go. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone looking for an effective phone/tablet drawing app.

Good!. Autodesk sketchbook is probably the best free drawing app out there! There are so many tools to use and different brushes. It was confusing at the start because there were so many options, but now it’s better. The one thing I’m most confused about is the blending tool. It’s really hard for me to understand, but maybe that’s just me. Anyway, I love Autodesk sketchbook! Everything is free and I think that’s really important, because I’ve had other apps where you just click on something you think is available and a big paywall pops up!

AMAZING APP. This is the most peaceful app I’ve ever came across no ads at all but maybe add like drawing lessons or even just a colouring page area so you can get use to colouring in because I’m a designer of me and my friends of our art group and I try to use this app to get ideas and most.y have fun I’ve been drawing since I was 2 witch was ages ago and I’ve been getting my skill level up with this app also is just making my heart warm

Really great!. Sketchbook is an amazing app for drawing, even if you have no idea what any of the buttons/brushes do. There’s thousands of brushes and so many things that can be personalised. However, there is one issue that I’ve encountered… basically the fact that it doesn’t save to icloud. I had done almost 200 sketches when I needed to replace my iPad and when I redownloaded the app all of them had disappeared. Now I don’t know if that was something to do with the app or simply how my device was set up, but it’s something to look out for. Apart from that, I have had no problems and think that altogether, it it the perfect free drawing app :)

iPad vs iPhone. I had this app for a couple years on my iPad and I then downloaded on my phone so that I could easily draw on the bus. I downloaded and it was almost identical, except for the single most important feature... the undo button. Why is this not on the iPhone version it just honestly makes no sense and doesn’t help anyone. Using the smaller screen is hard enough, so why not help the users by giving an undo button on the iPhone. Thank you. :)

Best editing app! There’s just one problem…. I love this app so MUCH! It’s so helpful for editing and enhancing photos. It’s got so many different options for different types of pens, pencils, paintbrushes, etc. The only thing I wish they would add is a rubber/eraser so that if you’re working on something and you accidentally make a mistake without realising it and you start working on something else, you don’t have to erase all of the hard work you put in just so you can get rid of the mistake. This would make this app a 5 star rated app!! Please consider!

Very good app though add a thing. I have just started drawing with this app and I already like it, there are some good brushes though I haven’t tried all of them yet but I predict they will be amazing! Though if you could just add one more thing (not that you have to but it will be helpful) and that is the undo redo shortcut, two fingers to undo and three to redo, I have gotten used to that technique with some other art apps and it’s a bit hard without the shortcut. You do not have to add it if you don’t want to but I think it would be helpful for most people, other then that the app is amazing, glad I’m using it ❤️😀

Brilliant!!! But.... I love this app so much. It’s completely free and there are so many brushes and layer options. I only a have two requests. I really want an alpha lock option so I can colour and shade without all the hassle of rubbing out anything outside the lines. I would also love a blur option. Smudge doesn’t do much. I could use the air brush but it’s not as simple and affective as a blur option would be. Anyways, I love this app and I will continue to use it!

Amazing app! Time saving suggestion. As the title says this is one of the best drawing apps I’ve seen so far, there are a couple things I’d live to suggest though, just to make it easier. The first thing is by customising you own group of your favourite brushes in the library! I feel like this would be tons of help as sometimes I want a brush from one section but I like to use a eraser from a different section, if you do add this in I’d just like to say thanks as it would save me and heaps of other artists that use this app heaps of time to work on our sketches and artworks!

Love this app!♡☆. My opinion: This app has so many features and is so easy to use! You’ll never get bored with it! I’m not joking! It has no adds as far as I’ve seen and I’ve used it for about 3 weeks so far. It has layers so it’s easy to draw and I can’t stop drawing! The app is amazing. You can add photos and even time lapse your drawing. You can name drawings and make folders. You can share your drawing from the app and save to your camera roll. There are so many features and there is nothing to dislike about the app. Important: Unlike some reviews it won’t just delete your drawings as a “glitch”. It would only do that if you leave the app and swipe it up without saving. Some of the 1 star reviews are stupid!!! As well as this some people over react and say there are so many adds caus there really is none. Overall, this is just like a free photoshop pretty much and is epic. I don’t have words for how pleased with this app. Thank you creators so much for making this awesome app!!! ☆☆☆ ♥︎♡♥︎♡ ☆☆☆

Is it really that difficult to add a clipping mask feature?. There’s only one thing missing from this app. Ever since I started digital painting in 2018 I have always stopped myself from fully embracing Sketchbook because of the lack of clipping masks. They offer an extra dimension of brush control that’s integral to the whole experience of digital painting which is why it’s baffling that the developers have not bothered to add it. Virtually every other drawing app has that feature except Sketchbook. And it’s a shame because given it doesn’t have layer limits, it could have been a better alternative on the iPad compared to Procreate.

FLIPPING LOVE THIS APP. This app is so amazing. It’s simple but good to practice. As a kid who first got this app I was a bit confused, it was really hard to use but that was when I never understood art. Until I got the hang of art in 2022 and the app, it was so easy to use and made my artistic skills better each and every day throughout the years (4). Sadly I could never afford procreate even though I really wanted it to improve my art since it has better features, but when I drew more on Sketchbook that’s when i noticed that I don’t need Procreate since it’s easier to use for Art. Luckily I got this app and I am really great full for this app in The App Store to get. So thank you for the most amazing app ever created

Used to be my go to app for art, but new update has made me rethink. The new update which adds a lot of new brushes and changes the interface is alright. The new brushes are interesting and fantastic, but performance issues are major. Every brushstroke takes about a second to load. I think it’d be better if all the new interface was dropped and instead built into the old one. It’s really shaking off a lot of my old habits, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but this new overhaul seems unnecessary. What happened to quickly being able to rotate the canvas and going to the gallery with a pinch of a finger? And what happened to autosaving? I personally think it’s all taken a bit of a nosedive. Please bring back the old features that made this app so great, but definitely keep the new brushes and textures. Let me know if there’s anything being done to fix this.

I can’t believe it’s free!. After trying out a bunch of drawing apps, I have now settled on Sketchbook as my regular drawing and sketching app. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks so I am far from being an expert in its use, but so far there has been nothing I can’t do with it. Like other users I would like to see the app automatically save drawings in progress, and a rotate button would be great too. However these are small issues that don’t impact on your ability to create truly stunning artwork if you are capable of it. Best of all there are no annoying popup ads, or nag screens which far too many free apps plague their users with. Highly recommended.

I like this app but it can improve. I like the app but it can improve and get some shapes to help the person draw a strait shape that they want like a circle and other shapes, also can you guys please add a instruction list so new people who use this can understand way faster, other then that this app has been good to me so far, and I highly recommend this app,I am sorry if I am being rude but the people who hate it can calmly tell what’s bothering them instead of raging. Susie ( my child ), Best regards, Stay safe, Thank you.

My favourite drawing app BUT.... I love this app and have few criticisms about it. I do have one suggestion that I really hope the developers will see and take into consideration - please, please, please enable the ability to edit canvas size. While I’m reviewing, I will say that what makes this app stand out from the others is the ease of use, the extent to which you can adjust and personalise brushes to suit your needs, as well as the “smoothing” function that makes your hand seem much steadier than it is.

MY MAIN DRAWING APP. People in the past sometimes say, “oh ibis paint is better” and I don’ t judge that, but this app is just by far the most awesome app ever, I don’t know if anyone actually sees the full potential of this app, but as used this app a lot, I discovered things that make this app OVER THE TOP. They have a variety of brushes, import pictures, TRANSPARENT BACKGROUNDS (I know, amazing) and more! Tots recommend! They even have 3 ways to select colours, and import colours using their numbers. OMG I’M OBSESSED the fact you can move layers AND symmetry it and save colours make this app so amazing! YOU DON’T EVEN NEED TO STICK TO THE DEFAULT, you can pin others!! AND THERE ARE GLOW BRUSHES never have I ever seen something like that, and it’s SO effective! ALSO, THERE ARE DIFFERENT FORMS OF SYMMETRY AND MORE! EVEN SHAPE TOOLS! Thank you sooo much for making this! I really appreciate it!

Amazingly intuitive. It is amazing using Sketchbook Pro on iPad for digital art. The whole experience is natural, intuitive, fast and rewarding. I have been using the Sketchbook Pro desktop version as part of my toolkit for the last few years. Sketchbook Pro provides all the features I require. The drafting/guide tools being an extremely useful feature. It might not have everything but it has everything I need and use for painting and illustrating. Perfect app for me.

Awesome. I’m an avid drawer but I find it a bit of a pain to constantly have to carry paper on me wherever I go. Recently I saved up enough to buy myself a 6th generation iPad and also received an Apple Pencil as a gift. I was struggling to find an unpaid app that would support the pencil until I had a look at this app. It’s absolutely amazing with all the tools and options I need, I love the layering as well. I’ve not had any problems with the app and the fact that’s it’s completely and utterly free is so great. I hope this was useful to anyone else thinking of getting it.

One problem.... I love it! It’s really useful with all the different styles of brushes, textures but the only thing is, I just 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 save my drawing to my Pictures! It’s really annoying and before I found a solution by sending them to myself then saving the drawings into my photos, but now it says ’Enable MMS’ which I had no idea what it meant, but when I found it settings it was already on! So I tried switching it off but the same thing happened, I have no idea what it means please find a way to fix this or make it so that we can save it to the Photos app 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚.

An issue and some suggestions. There’s a problem that I’ve been experiencing when drawing and that’s if you free transform any shape, the edges gets a bit blurry, especially noticeable with thin pen sketches that when you move it the lines become transparent and not full. That’s the only real issue I’ve ran into when using the app, other than that, it’s a flawless program. But some things that could complete it would be the blur and sharpen tool the desktop version of this app has, another useful feature would be to be able to transform multiple layers at once. With these features, this app could probably compete with adobe photoshop in utility! Such a sound app that’s both user friendly and professional.

Can I have help. Hello staff~ we’ve encountered some problems with the saving of artworks on mobile; whenever we save an artwork from the gallery it sends us to the last edited artwork then crashes, transparent backgrounds won’t save and just make a white background now and lastly preview save from the progress of 30m approximately and save as that to, the only way around this we’ve found is temporarily deleting the artwork then editing it a little to make it show the correct progress. If this is just space problem please inform us, if not and it’s a bug can you please fix it? I hope this is the write place to tell you. Thank you

Yaaaass! 👏👏👏💜💜. I love it! It’s super easy to use and fun too, I created so many wonderful pictures with this. All the tools are easy to find and they give an amazing performance. I also love the fact that you can do a speed paint (Timelapse) on this app with a button already there. I don’t have o purchase anything so that is less money spent! Overall this app is amazing and I would use it again. Even if it isn’t the best it’s still a good beginner app for someone first starting! 💜💜💜☺️☺️😊😊😁😁

🎨Download this app to practice your skills🎨. 🎨i recommend this app because it is free But don’t have really good style if you’re wanting to use like a medium paintbrush this app isn’t really what you’re hoping for because they’ve got like really big paintbrushes and pencils or really small ones there’s nothing really in the middle that’s perfect sometimes. I’ve been trying to paint this really good picture for ages but I just never had the paper is perfect like mixing emojis which was pretty fun with it remember this is like a kid making this 11-year-olds making this review If you do you want to make a perfect Picasso picture maybe spend like 3 to $10 on an app but if you’re looking just to practice your skills and learn to draw I would say this it’s really good for practising your skills🎨

Really good but….. I really recommend it, for newer versions, because if you are having those problems, (which I’ve never encountered.) I recommend iPad 6, or over, because it really works well for me. So I’m also having trouble getting the right colour, it’s hard, and when I’m trying to draw, sometimes it messes it up. But then again it is super good, and a relaxing app, so if you have an iPad mini, you won’t be getting your full performance on this app.

Best drawing app!!!!. I have been looking for an app like this for a long time. It has a variety of brushes and features. You can make many masterpieces with just one brush! I stay on my iPad drawing for ages. Another good thing is you can easily draw with your finger! Most apps are trash with the brushes and have lots of different issues. Those apps I deleted as soon as I got them but this app I’ve had for at least a year without any issues!

Awesome essential for casual artists. Okay, let’s just get this out of the way- the app is perfect for someone like me who likes editing animations and doing simple drawings. I am not techy so there is probably a lot more possibility with this app than I have revealed, but I do wish there was a feature to make the drawings transparent. The app is awesome though, being completely free and having nothing to buy, but for obvious reasons, if you are willing to spend the money you may be able to get a better app. The features are everything an artist like me needs but if you need something more professional, I would recommend something like procreate or similar. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Amazing drawing app. I love using this everyday, it has many features that come in handy and all its brushes are free, you can even customise them without any cost. You can switch between an open layout or a bit more of a crowded workspace, or you can use the symmetry tool to help get your faces symmetrical. There is so much, it may even be excessive, but there always comes a time some may be useful. You don’t need Internet to draw either you don’t need it to save your artwork as well. It is good for me at least, using both iPad and iPhone. It’s a very good app for starters too, so help yourselves to this wonderful app.

The best drawing app. I absolutely LOVE this app and I personally prefer it over procreate and I have no bad things to say about it except for the fact that it gets a bit laggy sometimes, but that’s nothing I can’t handle. My only real complaint has come up quite recently. I’m not sure when this happened, but the limit for the number of layers has changed from 60-70, to about 24. 24 isn’t really enough layers to do anything, at least in my case. Maybe this was changed because the number of layers made the lap glitchy, which I understand. If that’s the case, however, I’d really like it if we could set our own limit so we could choose if we’d compromise speed for layers. Another explanation is that it could be a weird glitch of some kind, or maybe I’ve missed something and you guys never changed it. I just thought I’d leave this just in case. Thank you! Y’all are the best 💕

Great but needs update!. I’ve given this 5 stars as I’ve used the computer version for years and know what it could be, but it needs an urgent update! There is currently limited iPad Pro support - Apple Pencil double tap doesn’t do anything and the tilt function is a bit too small to be useful (the full tilt shading is too thin of a line and a little dark). Also (although I may be mistaken) there doesn’t appear to be any option to zoom in or rotate and scale layers which I found to be very useful on the computer version, I could only find 90 degree rotation. It’s a fantastic app but I’d love it if these features were implemented ASAP :) thank you for years of drawing fun

Recent Color problem. I was just going to suggest to others on some chat sights for artists to use this app as an intro into pc painting and suddenly my colours keep changing. I will select a colour and the next time I touch the screen with my brush it changes. It then continually changes brush colour like a random select. Any idea what’s happening. I’ve been playing with this app for sometime and it’s been fantastic. This has only happened in last 24 hours. Will be great if you could suggest something. Thanks. Ev Kennedy

Excellent app. Sketchbook is my go to app when it comes to drawing. I am very comfortable with the layout and finding out new ways to use it every day. There’s just one problem... As of late, I do not know why, it has become very slow and extremely glitchy. I can no longer use it in the way that I desire and even one brush stroke is enough to make it freeze or crash entirely. I do not know if this has been experienced elsewhere but this has been my experience for the past few months.

The best app ever. Takes a bit of getting used to with the layers and tools. That is probably just because i was a complete beginner. But now i am making awesome digital art 😎 👏. It is FREE!!!!! 💕 I have the windows desktop and mobile version. They both work so smoothly. Not many apps are free nowadays, but this company clearly shows that they designed ig for the users and not for cash. I am a student and to have a free app that is as professional as this one. I am becoming a true artist and live this seamless program.

Amazing As! But a Glitch.... So I was casually drawing and editing my photos, when suddenly, it would only draw black! I tried so many different colours but it didn’t work! I don’t know..maybe I clicked something but I would like to know what’s going on! Also sometimes when I draw it’s grey and if I draw on top of it gets darker but it’s happens with every pen! No hate to the app it’s very good but..it’s a big struggle with these glitches or mistakes I made, please, respond to this review and tell if it’s a glitch and if I can fix it tell me how! Thank you.

Best free drawing app!. I’ve tried many apps and software for creating drawings - Medibang, Krita, Pages... even MS Paint. None of them compare to Sketchbook when it comes to ease of use and the variety of features on offer. The iOS app works seamlessly with my Apple Pencil and it feels like I’m drawing on paper instead of my iPad. The desktop version doesn’t disappoint either. I confidently recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have the money for Corel Painter, Procreate, etc. This app deserves ten stars, but the most I can give is five.

Great but will probably die soon. Hands-down the best app for sketches. Lives up to its name as a replacement sketchbook and set of standard tools. Doesn’t over-crowd you with features (the Photoshop lookalikes) or over-simplify (the Paint lookalikes). It’s perfect. iCloud sync stopped working, due to “spinning out lost us access to the Autodesk developer account.” It’s inconvenient to keep track of every file we have in the gallery and manually copy them to the cloud. Please make it work again. Presumably this means there’ll be a new sketchbook app and this one will die. I’d buy it though.

Things that I would love the app to have. Ok. The app is extremely well made and has great brushes for painting and others and would get at least a 4 and a half stars but few things - a clipping mask would be extremely helpful, having something that acts similar to alpha lock except on a different layer - can it automatically create a Speedpaint without needing to press the recording button? Because then you don’t need to edit the video thogether if you don’t do it in one sitting. And zooming in and such wouldn’t so much affect the video quality, possibly making the watcher dizzy Keep up the good work! I love it!

Great App, 1 Problem. So, this is a great app to draw with. I’d say, there is only one problem. It’s about the thing that gets rid of the things. It doesn’t get everything. Like the undo button in the corners, redo ad well, and the random page thing. I see no purpose in them. If we pressed the button, everything except the go back button should be gone. Stuff like the circle at the bottom and the pen thing flying around annoys me. In conclusion, when the button is pressed, it should remove everything except the go back button. Great game in general.

Great app! Really love it! Please read!. This app is a GREAT tool for when you’re doing digital art! One of the best things is no in app purchases! Besides that, you can paint almost anything! The only thing I think the app could improve by is having a tutorial, if they already have one (I think they do, I got the app a while ago), then make it a bit more detailed, or at least show the person how to use different textures like the wisp. I had had the app for a while and I only knew you could add different textures when my friend showed me. I only have one issue with the app: whenever. I save an drawing to my photos, the app freezes and I have to refresh it, that’s all though. This is my FAVOURITE drawing app and I’ve had a few! I would totally recommend this to my friends or anyone who needs a drawing app.

Hate the new update. Why is it now like this????

Decent. I haven’t used this app a lot but wanted to see what kind of free alternatives are available for people. I think it’s awesome that this is free and is a really good app if you are on a budget. One thing I would suggest is having a swatch instead of just a picture of the brushes. The pictures are not helpful at all and you have to go through every single one to see what they even look like. I found the hb pencil fun to sketch with. Over all not amazing but defiantly not bad. :)

Awesome tool. I like it a lot, just which it has some kind of tutorial!!! But over all awesome tool like and would most definitely recommend it!!

Huh?!?. I like the old one better. Plus it's all so confusing and I can't find the fill tool. Unless there isn't even one...

It is kind of hard to use.. Thank you

Awesome app!. Sketchbook is an awesome drawing app, as it first caught my eye when I saw that it was FREE. Yes, I know that many people have been using Procreate and IbisPaint X (which are also great drawing apps) but Sketchbook contains all of the features AND you don’t need to pay. It lags every once in a while but you easily fix this by going in and out of the app. Overall, I’d say there could be more features that are added into this but Sketchbook is still an amazing app.

Would be five stars but.... It’s a great app but there should be a thing where you can like select a certain part of it and then move it instead of having to continuously make more layers

New update. The UI is much worse, and less clean than before. Frankly this is a downgrade from the past sleek design

BEST APP EVER!. I would totally recommend this app for new artists or any kind of artist! I really love the features like how everything is nicely organized onto the side and all the brushes are for FREE!!!🤩 But there is one thing…that the lasso is a bit hard to use like I prefer just having a simple selection tool on the bar too because I have been using this app for a 1-2 years and I still struggle using the lasso tool…If you could make a change to that, that would be great!🥳 thank you so mich

Not good. This app is not good anymore because there is NO proper pen/marker. Please fix this. Also I would not recommend this app. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Review. Very good just sometimes a little glitchy

sauvegarde dans l’album photo une image noire. alors ce que je sauvegarde me donne que des images (noire) complètement inutilisable sur la visionneuse d’album photos.. setup: iPad Air 2022 (m1) avec Apple Pencil 2

Its pretty good!. If someone knows how to move layers on iPad. Tell me and I’ll write another one

DO NOT GET THIS APP. DO NOT GET THIS APP IF YOU ARE A STARTER ITS SO CONFUSING EVEN WITH THE TUTORIAL IT IS JUST HORRIBLE AND WHAT THE TOOL BAR SAYS IT IS IT ISN’T DO NOT GET IT

Glitch. I like this app but it’s not strong I doesn’t hold a lot of slides cause it’s going to glitch I’m using this app for my animation project and because I draw a lot of pictures now the app is not opening and I need it today please fix it.

Awesome. This is honestly the best art app I’ve ever used before. All the brushes are free too which is amazing. I do also have a small suggestion. That is to allow creators to select a part/your entire drawing on multiple layers so that you can resize or move it all together.

It Perfect 👌👌👌. well… almost if only there is a fill but it erase like that i wold make some perfect art. but still… it good because im not confused for on time and again it amazing and perfect 👌👌👌👍👍👍 (pls add a feature who it like erase but work like fill if ya understand [i hope ya do 🥲])

AMAZING!. I am an artist, and honestly, I think that auto desk sketchbook is the most useful drawing app ever! There are SO many tools that you can use and they are amazing! You can do so much with this app! AND IT’S FREE!!! EVERYTHING is free. Which is absolutely amazing especially for such an amazing app like this!

Amazing Art App. Wish I could upload art pieces I have done. Amazing art app and very user friendly. Hope this app matures in the future and more features, tools, brushes and other will be updated and added. I love it so much.

So fun. If you are just getting it to art perfect app to start your journey of!!😁😀

Better than some paid alternatives. I’m a beginner at sketching and drawing manga and I’ve got to say Sketchbook is better than some of the other apps I paid money to get. The interface is easy to use and intuitive and all the brushes I want are in the app. Everything is free, no ads, no in-app purchases. Thank you devs for this amazing app.

i don’t get why people are hating on this app. People are saying Stop this is Horrible This is Bad I hate this blah blah blah with no reason what Is the Problem no problem? then don’t Rate 1

Ong its so not glitchy. I have had it for 70 months and no 0 glitches

good stuff. even without premium this is really great, i got premium and it was even better. also what’s the need for exporting to psd and pdf?

I’m considering other apps. Please add the ability to add other people to draw with you, I wanna draw together with friends. Also please make it so time-lapses can be recorded without all the turning and make it so time-lapses are always pre-recorded and saved on the app so you can save them to your camera roll whenever without the pain and suffering that is forgetting to hit record. I love this app so much but it really bugs me that we don’t get the cool features other apps have like custom stamps, brushes, time-lapses that auto-record, time-lapses that don’t pick up on the zooming in and turning (It’s horrible on the eyes), the ability to make an animation with the app and the ability to draw on the same canvas with friends. The selection is also bad because every time you move a selected drawing, it gets blurrier, PLEASE fix this.

This app is amazing. Best drawing app ever. Tysm for making this!. This app is amazing! I love the set-up of it😍. It’s so simple to use and I can do so many things on it. One suggestion I have that would make this app even better is maybe you could add an option on the side or settings or something to have frames and be able to import ur own music and/or record audio. I’m sure this would help a lot of people. Ik it would sure help me because I’m trying to become an animator but I can’t find the right tools and I already love this app so much it would be amazing if u could add this. Overall amazing app!

Amazingggg. This is such a good app and there’s so many really good tools that are for free ! I love this app and I love drawing, shading, and adding details. I suggest you to get this app if you like drawing and sketching👌👍👍✅😀☺️

Disappointment For Longtime Users. When Autodesk announced they were spinning off Sketchbook into an independent company — this looked like promising opportunity for a great piece of software to beginning improving again after having long sat stagnant. Unfortunately that has not be the case. There has been no new development, with the exception of their most recent update which has taken a huge step backwards. All sketches saved in iCloud (allowing access to files across devices) are no longer accessible in the software. Now all my sketches are gone. If I hadn’t had them saved in iCloud would they have been wiped out completely? Apparently as a workaround you can import them back in, but the Sketchbook folder is not visible in app to import the sketches. The files are there, I can see them on my iPad in the files app and on my other devices — but this folder is not visible in Sketchbook. I have no way to bring these sketches back into the app so I am now stuck. This has been the final straw for me to move on from this app. It’s too bad, it’s one of the best digital sketching apps around (even with some key missing features users have been asking for in reviews for years). There are alternatives available now that are better supported and have more engaged communities. I normally don’t write reviews, but I had to share my frustration and maybe help someone to avoid this app and save themselves from experiencing lost work, or hopefully let Sketchbook know their actions are costing them users.

I will keep asking until it’s implemented!!!. Changing size of pre-existing canvas Clipping mask layer Ability to see the size of the brush every time I draw because it’s hard to tell if my brush size is right or not(similar to how Medibang shows their brush size when you draw) Undo and redo with only one tap and make those buttons visible unless you click the square which makes all menus invisible (this can be an optional feature because personally I don’t want to double tap every time I have to redo it gets tiring one tap is enough!!!!)

Sign in forced on users. Hi, Long time user on multiple platforms here. It’s a great drawing software. I bought the standalone non-subscription version of the app on iPad last year so I wouldn’t be required to sign since this is a portable device and won’t always have access to wifi wherever I go. Well now that it’s free you blocked my paid version and forced me unto the subscription model (is that even legal?) and now I can’t use the software wherever I go. This is very irritating and not consumer-friendly. If wifi is not required you haven’t made that very clear but currently you have another frustrated customer.

Great app!!🤩. EVERYTHING is free! And there is no adds and no scams. There is a good variety of pens but the tool bar isn’t confusing. Also it’s easy to figure out for the beginners.

Good but maybe not for professionals. I love this app and have had it for a long time with no real problems yet. I would not recommend for professionals who want to use it for very detailed or realistic art though, I don't believe theres a way to import your own brushes so you'll have to work with what you got, there is a great variety of brushes and they are all free so that is a plus but if you work with a very specific brush then you're out of luck. Overall great app.

Back and sadder then ever. I lost five years worth of digital art that I backed up on the cloud option for this app. The cloud option no longer exists🤡 Don’t get this app I’m deleting it

Wow. Wow. Wow wow

Great app, however.... Amazing drawing app. My favourite to use. However, there is a glitch when I copy and paste small sections of the drawing. The pasted images repeatedly appear covered in colourful pixels.

Keeps freezing. It’s driving me nuts

App locks up iPad Pro M1. The app behaves strangely on the M1 iPad Pro. Irresponsive at times and strange long clicks in iPad OS. Deleting the app fixed the problem. Sad to see a good app break down.

Great app. A couple things are missing, like being able to mold faces and change the form of the images. Highly recommend y’all’s add that PLEASE!! But pretty good app overall. I’ve made dozens of amazing things!!

Amazing. This app was so usefull for doing so many things. It’s free, and has no ads. So many different tools, I can get LOST in them. I bought the VIP, which is only $3, and holy shoot it was worth it. VIP Benefits: - New colour pallet (even though you already have all colours for free) - One time payment! No monthly or yearly fee, buy it once and you’re good! - You can INVENT YOUR OWN BRUSHES - Rename brushes and colours Things for free: - All colours - Half of brushes (mainly the usefull ones) - Infinite exports and downloads!!! - NO ADS - No watermark - Guides (rulers, lines) This is literally the best drawing app out there. Name anything and they have it. If you use any other app, switch RIGHT NOW Im in love with this - This is coming from someone who hates art and sucks at it (Thats how good this is, even a person that hates art loved it)

AMAZING APP but…. I love this app because there are so many tools and it’s not a scam! However, whenever I clear the page and I continue sketching then it doesn’t work. I’m not sure if it’s my apple pen or the app but I love the app and tools! Thanks for making this app! <3

mental trauma. the glitches and problems with this app have pushed me to a mental break down, why am i able to first draw on a transparent background for the transparent layer just to not work anymore just because. i hate hate hate this app i lost hours of work.

No Login Function. There was an update that removed the login, this makes it extremely tedious to save your works and view/work on them from another device. I was using this app for 2 years and today I needed to reset my iPad to remove IOS storage, I discovered that in order to save my works I needed to save each individually. There is no bulk save or export option so I lost 75% of my work as I as not going to screenshot everything. I’m downloading procreate now to see if the subscription is worth not losing years of work. This needs to be fixed, iCloud storage is vastly unreliable. This app may be free, but as an artist it is imperative that I am able to save my work.

Please add two finger tap to undo!. I love this art program and i wish i could give it 4.5 stars. The reason i have problems with this app is that the undo and redo is a corner short cut not two finger/three finger tap to undo this has been a huge problem for multiple left hand people. Please add a way for you to do this.

Love it. Giving it five stars because the description. There should never be a price on creativity!

Pencil by 53. Just wanted to thank the team behind this app. Thank you so much for continuing to support other stylii styluses specifically the “Pencil by 53” which is not even supported in Paper by WeTransfer (formerly by 53) It’s really appreciated that I’m able to use hardware I invested in years ago despite being discontinued and unsupported by the company that took over the original manufacturer.

I CANT DO NEW ART SHEHSNJAIWUEHSNWKIW. I use this to make my thumbnails it’s hard to do the art like In the pictures

I cant find the eraser. Clear, good, but no eraser?

deleting drawings. at first the app was doing good, made me improve my digital art skills but a few months later into using it, when i finished my drawings to go back to gallery, the app crashed and deleted like half of my drawing that i worked very hard for and has made me cry several times every-time it happened, so maybe do better next time

Not the best. It has a lot of detailed brushes and stuff but it needs shortcuts. For example undo and stuff for mobile. This just makes it difficult to do anything on it

I love this app! But there is a little bit of annoying bugs.. This is my favorite app, but only recently I have been trying to go serious and watch tutorials online. The only two bugs I would like to talk about is sometimes I would be drawing and the drawing just won’t work, I would be trying everything I can to get it to work and nothing would do it, you can just fix this by swiping the app away but it still is annoying. The second one is I would copy and past something on the page and when I past it, it wouldn’t move. Both of these are barely a problem but still worth mentioning. Also I think it would be awesome if you add some ai replacement pen where you could give it a prompt and it would replace what you draw with it with the prompt, this isn’t a big thing but it would be awesome.

Absolutely THE Best. I have tried many different sketch and drawing apps, and each had its pros and cons. This one has all (almost all) the features I could ask for, and offers them in a VERY user friendly package, relatively speaking. If you want minute customization options, the ability to fine tune every brush, and you want to be able to stack many layers from all kinds of sources, you should not expect it to be as simple as the old school Windows Paint program! So be prepared to explore and try things in order to learn what is possible (this goes for any good technology by the way). I absolutely love the app and I have produced some artwork I never would have thought I am capable of, so THANK YOU to the creators, and thanks for continuing to make it better. The above being said, I have only one ask and hopefully this reaches the right set of eyes: Please integrate the “double tap” feature for the new Apple Pencil, and if you could make the assignment of that “button” customizable I would be 100% satisfied (similar to the double tap buttons for the corners of the screen). 5 Stars for the effort and the product so far ladies and gents. But I am 95% satisfied, this last 5% I am sure your will come thru on, sooner rather than later I hope! Thanks again, An Artist Re-imagined

😻😻😼. So this app is great! It has layers, utensils out the wazoo, and a lot of options! For me, a cartoon artist it’s great 👍 but I’m very comfortable using all of the tools and am already familiar with all of that from previous apps. I think new users would find it a bit challenging to navigate where everything is and how all the different tools work. Some of them I don’t even know how to use. So a more in depth tutorial that can be offered would do wonders I think! Another small issue is the format of the app. The double tapping in the corners is repetitive, and half the time if you’re trying to undo something it doesn’t work and you just mark the screen. And it’s nice that you can have the option to make the toolbar disappear, but it would be nicer for the bar to be larger. But overall, I like the app and the oh so many tools. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Nice update!. Edit: I bought the “Premium Bundle” for the extremely low price of $0.99 A. because I wanted it lol. And B. because I want to see where Sketchbook goes. I have heard that the price will be increased after a time so I’d totally recommend picking it up if your interested. When I was reading the patch notes I was immediately exited about the Import/Export of brushes and customisable gestures! But, that’s not where the party stops, because there’s been even more awesome features added! When I opened the app and dismissed the (One time perches) IAP popup it took my a minute to figure out where to buy it. (Turns out you need to tap the “Get More” I was looking for an “Upgrade” or expecting the popup to appear more then once). I absolutely love how customisable the gesture shortcuts are INCLUDING the two-finger undo gesture added in V6.0.1. My only complaint with gestures in Sketchbook are that there’s a noticeable delay from the time do the gesture to the time the gesture action it completed, but the fact that you guys added two-finger undo so quickly after the release of V6.0 is amazing! Thank you so much! My only other complaint would be that currently canvases are locked at 72-DPI Which is a vary low DPI number. With all this in mind I still think this is my favourite free drawing app. And I honestly don’t mind paying for the IAP it get even features.

AMAZING. This a amazing app! This is definitely a solid 5 stars! What the app I wanted was a app like procreate since it cost money and I didn’t want to spend 5 dollars on something that I knew I would forget about in a few weeks, but this app is the best even tho it’s not Exactly like procreate it almost is like it I ended up searching what apps are like procreate and this app was the first option and looked the best to me so I decided to give it a try and oh my gosh it is super fun I have been using ibis paint x for about a while now and I wasn’t that interested in it from the start but I still used it anyways because it was the most “decent” app I could find non the AppStore I wish I have downloaded this app sooner so it could cure my boredom of quarantine from the start. I really recommend you use this app! Although I wish there was a blender so you could blend stuff in but you won’t regret buying this app at all!

I got it but my little cousin. So about 1 day ago my little cousin was on my phone playing “Toca Life Stable” at least what he said but instead he was deleting all of my art apps but “IbisPaint I just found out today and I tried to get it back as well as my other ones but it said I needed to pay cash and I told my little cousins mom (he is 4 or something so I get why he deleted it all) and showed her the pictures of my drawing of my pets and stuff and she called him over and he said “Oh I not like those apps so I get rid of them” his mom started to show him the images and then took his iPad and deleted one of his games to give him a lesson witch she really did not have to do but now I d on by know if this is a bug or something but after all the app is amazing 10/10 even though it wants me to pay cash witch I am not doing so now I only can use IbisPaint I love everything else about it so much I might try on my iPad but won’t be able to restore my data.

Why this app is SO AMAZING. So when I got this I didn’t know what to do but it is so easy to use that you don’t even need directions. I figured it out in like 5 minutes! They also have a wide variety of brushes ( a lot of brushes ) you can even change the width of the brushes! And so you can reuse your recent colors! It is so easy to use and you can insert images to edit it is so cool and there are so many colors to choose from in the color wheel and For example if you are ending a picture and trying to find a person’s skin tone or hair all you have to do is hold your finger/Apple pen on the screen on the skin or whatever color you need and it changes the color to whatever you need! This is probably better than ibis paint because it is way easier to use. If you love to draw you should 100% get it!

I love this app but it deleted my entire design. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and I really love it. My only issue is, is that whenever I see it freeze or lag behind I have to hold my breath and make sure it doesn’t delete my work when it crashes. I haven’t had to many instances where this happens, but just 5 minutes ago I saw it freeze and crash, then my entire design was gone. I had just finished putting down my base colors and was picking out shades that I would use to shade. As soon as I moved my layer with my colors, everything froze. I had to exit out of the app and let it restart. I’ve never had the app delete everything, maybe a layer or 2 but not everything. It honestly makes me want to cry. I don’t know if I’m just using the app for too long or if it is a bug, but I’m really upset with it right now. I would love to hear any feedback on what I should do or if there is an answer. Thank you.

It is at least a 4 star but.... I've been using this app on my phone for years and it has always been working fine, but it is until this year that something weird has been going on. Every now and then an album would multiply and make from 1 to 5 copies. It would do this on its own and every time I would try to delete the copies (since it takes so much space and it is quite unnecessary to have so many) it would delete the original album as well, EVEN THOUGH I would start by choosing ONE of the copies to delete. Problem is, I go to trash to recover all those drawings and they don’t even appear there, then WORSE problem is, I go to my files and the drawings are not even there? I even check the ‘Recently Deleted’ section of the files and they are not there either... it’s as if they never existed. I like this app, I like its features and it’s always been one of my favorites, but it’s come to the point where I don’t feel safe drawing there anymore because a lot of my work is getting deleted.

I loved the app, but then it kept freezing.... In the middle of drawing a project that I was actually kinda proud of, it just started to freeze soo much and it wouldn’t let me do anything after that. So, I left the app to try and fix it, bc ofc the freezing messed up my drawing a bit when I was trying to get it to work again. I leave and go back on and it wouldn’t let me undo. So I had to fix the mistake that happened. I was in the middle of fixing it, and it froze again. So I did it again. I left, went back on, and fixed it. Right when I started to draw again, it froze. I left, went back on. I put my pencil on my ipad and it froze immediately, and did that about 2 more times before I finally gave up and left the app. The one drawing that I’m actually proud of, I do on this app and I can’t even finish it. I was really happy with how it was turning out and I just really wanna be able to finish it, and hopefully work more with it. Just, please try and fix it asap :(

Love... Unfortunately -. I seriously love this app. Over procreate, even!...I found this app is so much more accurate to what I'm looking for when it comes to how I expect something to work or a brush to stroke. To be honest with you I only downloaded sketchbook because I saw the awesome feature that you could scan from your RL sketchbook and easily turn them into something digital. Seriously something incredible. Please help with this one issue! It's the only reason I did not give five stars. When working with an illustration, when I go to tap on any menu item, when the options pop up they only pop up for a split second. This gives me no time to look through the brushes or even save my drawing or really do much of anything. It's made everything so incredibly irritating that I find that I can't even use it until I get this problem solved. I was toggled with the palm rejection settings, preferences when it came to touch gestures, everything. What do I need to do? Thank you so much for this amazing app!

Great App! But here's some suggestions.... I've been using this app (and its predecessor) practically my entire time doing digital art (nearly 10 years). It's always been downloaded and used at some point, and currently it's my main art app. It is a very good app and works amazing especially if you know what you're doing and know to utilize the tools given. I especially love the folder feature in the gallery, which makes for easy organization. I currently have about 900 drawings in all Just a few suggestions as a long time user. I am glad there is now a time-lapse feature, but I don't exactly enjoy how it records. I prefer it when time-lapse's show the whole canvas, but Autodesk records your movement, including the awkward zoom ins, which make it difficult to really tell what you're doing in a time-lapse. An update to that would be amazing. My next critique is probably the addition of more tools/brushes (maybe even custom stamp tools), or the export of the tools available. Creating a favorite tool system where you can favorite individual brushes and erasers rather than the group its in will make art efficient, as I often switch back and forth between groups. That's primarily it. I love this app a lot, and every time I try to change apps, I come back to this one because it suits me better than the others out there. Love it lots, hoping for more improvements.

Sooo awesome!. I always keep seeing these awesome computer-animated artwork which I could never do myself on paper (and if I tried it never looked as good as I imagined it to) so I basically gave up trying until I found this app. It’s so easy to use and I love it! Being able to use multiple types of brushes and blend things together has made my life so much easier when I want to draw things in a specific style I can’t do on actual paper. I would suggest this app to anyone... other apps just seem so complicated, glitchy, or even not complicated enough! With Autodesk Sketchbook I can do pretty much exactly what I need to do no problem. However, I do have a suggestion: Is it possible to adjust the dimensions of the canvas? I also like to design forum signatures and profile images, but I just can’t get the shape right because it’s always a rectangle (starts out with W 2000 and H 1500). And when I resize it, it always adjusts the size but not the overall shape. My signatures always require more width than is available, and my profile images a more square shape, otherwise they do not fit right (if at all). It’s just the shape I’d like to adjust... not the size. I can resize images separately. Could you guys add this? I’m sure it would help out with the drawing experience of more than a few users. Having the same shape of canvas just gets boring after a while lol. Thank you so much for the great app!

THE GREATEST APP EVER!!. Sketchbook is my favorite app by far out of all apps, not only digital art apps! It has so many amazing brushes and tools, not only that but it is so easy to use and easy to catch on. Normally digital art apps are set up like photoshop or illustrator but this one is different but still super professional. I love this app so much! I also bought the extra tools for $0.99, I’m so glad I did, it’s so cheap and it’s not monthly or yearly payments, that 99 cents buys it all and it amazes me how much so little can provide! I recommend this app to anyone I can. I am a 16 year old girl who goes to an art school and focuses on visual arts so I am trying to start an art career and expand my skill set by moving to digital art, I’ve gone through so many apps and I even have Procreate but I like Sketchbook much better. Only thing I would recommend to add to an already perfect app would be even more brushes, perhaps hair brushes, splatter brushes, and industrial brushes for grunge or cracked looks.

Download at your own risk. So all I can say is I love sketch book auto but then you’re probably think why do I have such a bad rating the answer is simple I spent multiple hours drawing something and I was going to be my best work yet but then out of the blue sketch book auto just stops working it’s not a lag or anything then I get a pop up saying something went wrong and I have to save any unsaved work so I start saving and then sketch book just stops working agin closes the whole program and doesn’t work no matter what I do I can’t even close the app !!! So I teen my computer off and just wait for almost the whole next day when it still doesn’t work so I shut down my computer and do Force close the app and lose hours of hard work this went one to happen a few more times but I continued to use SketchBook simply because there was no better option in my opinion please sketchbook figure out how to fix this and have a better auto save or something I don’t like this review but I need people to know what there getting in to do for any one reading this download app at you’re I own risk

Used to be sooooooo good, now, glitching. 🙁. This app used to be my fav drawing app ever. I used it at school, my house, literally everywhere I could, but then the glitching started happening. I was in my room drawing something and I messed up. I hit the back button three times so it would erase it, but it only let me do one. My drawing wasn't important, so I didn't care and kept drawing. The next day the same thing happened. I needed wanted this one to be good, so I went to the App Store to see if it needed to be updated. It didn't. Now today. I'm drawing something very important and detailed, and when it wouldn't let me go back, or just fill in one square liking it usually did, I got irritated. This game used to be SOOOOOOOOO FUN, and I used it for everything, but now that it's glitching I can't. So, developers can you please fix this glitch so I, and anyone who had this problem, can play again?.

Cool, but Confusing. I haven’t really used it much, but so far, it’s really great for drawing and stuff. I drew a decent amount on it so when I got a new iPad, I got the app and started drawing a bit. I was out of town when I got it and I couldn’t remember what my password was so I decided to wait to get home to sign in, but after I signed in I didn’t see any of my drawings I had drawn on my old iPad. I found my old iPad that has my drawings and everything and I’ve tried to find a way to get the drawings onto my new iPad, but I still don’t know how. As I was looking for a solution, I found that my new iPad has both Local Storage and iCloud Storage, but my old iPad only has Local Storage so I checked if they were somehow different accounts and if they both have the most recent update, but everything seemed all right. It’s hard to tell if I’m missing something or not, but so far that’s the only flaw I’ve found. (Sorry, I don’t really know how to end something like this...)

Kills Battery Fast?. I like this app. It’s what I use on ipad to draw and do non heavily textured art when i dont feel like using my pc to draw. Customizing brushes is very limited because you can only use preset nibs and dont have as much options as some other programs to create new tools. So if I want to do textured art I stick to photoshop on my pc. However. This is called “sketchbook pro” not “Paint a finished piece Pro” so it’s not going to affect my rating. What I don’t like bout this program is the fact that my ipad does not have a lot of stuff saved on it and is like-new. But after having a good number of canvases saved on this program it seems like it kills my ipad battery faster. Not even 2 hours and i went from 70% to 20 something. Maybe it’s just me, maybe this program is unoptimized. My ipad is from 2018 or 2019 but its in perfect condition and only this app makes it freeze and makes my battery drain faster.

Bugs?. This app is great, beautiful, amazing tools, and I love it, but the problem is that I sometimes have my sketches deleted. This might just be my device, and that’s it’s most of the time on a lower percentage, but sometimes, I’ll go into the app and start sketching, sometimes be halfway through the drawing, and then I leave for less than a second, and I come back, and the page is blank. Or, sometimes it will kick me out, and back onto my home screen. When I open the app it’s back on a white canvas, and when I look through the gallery, or the trash, it’s still not there. Usually the only trace of the malfunction is the fact that’s it left on the same tool and color I was using before, unless the app itself kicked me out, then it just goes back to whatever I was on the day before or so. I hope if this is a bug someone will fix it quickly. Thank you for reading this, goodbye.

Really great, but important glitch. I really love this app because I’ve been working on it for over a year and it’s never failed me. I love the whole category of tools that you can choose from to customize. I also really appreciate that the layers are easy to access, unlike the app I was originally using. I haven’t run into a glitch since a few days ago, and I keeps messing me up. I have an over 40 layer detailed sketch I made to work on light, and it kept on crashing. I went back in (I only had about 7 layers at the time) and it had deleted parts of my line art. I went on for an hour or two and nothing happened, until it crashed again and it had deleted part of a different layer of line art (I was closer to 40 now). After that, even if I saved it, it would crash and delete part of a layer. Now it’s deleted a whole layer of coloring, a layer of line art, and part of a layer of my background. This may not be a glitch, just a problem with my storage, but I’m curious to why this is happening. Thanks!

Button-Overlap Slowing Progress. I never leave reviews but I’m hoping this might be seen and possibly reconciled if it’s a common complaint. This is my go-to art program for quick draws and even some more serious work. I know it’s free and not quite considered high-status like Procreate and co. but Sketchbook has a nice tool lineup and the UI is easy to work with. It’s been my favorite for years and I always recommend it to people. THIS BEING SAID: a recent update rearranged some features. I adapted completely fine to this, however the quick-toolbar (?) options were spread apart a touch and now the “last brush” button overlaps the “undo” button on mobile. Even having been working with this daily, I have not yet had a day where I didn’t press the wrong one and either had to redo a (sometimes lengthy) stroke/ action entirely or switch back to my previous brush. I like to work fast and this has slowed my process down an embarrassing amount. I love this app and what I’ve been able to do with it, but have been considering relearning a new program just so I don’t encounter this issue. If you take the time to look at what you’re pressing this won’t be an issue for you hopefully. I still strongly recommend this app to anyone reading reviews.

Love this app but it does have some glitches😕. I lovvve this app! However, I’ve been using this app for only less than a month, and I’ve already experienced some pretty irritating glitches. 1) Something happens with the eraser and the app just randomly decides what lines your allowed to erase and what your not erasing. Like if you left that line alone for a bit, when you go back to clean it up it won’t let me. In general too it just won’t let me erase certain lines... I’m flattered but no. I’ve had to change my tool and use white to do it which works but is more time consuming and pointless when it can just be fixed. Also if I want to save my drawing and come back to it later, I can no longer erase anything that I saved previously - annoying. 2) Now because of this eraser issue when I had to get off my iPad for a little, I left my app open while I shut the screen. When I came back my drawing was only partially done. All the work I had done between a time and the time I had to leave my iPad, was erased. ☹️ Good thing I took a screen shot before I left, but having to cut and paste it back into the app...annoying. 3) It’s been freezing up mid-draw... also annoying. It freezes for about ten seconds. Not that long but sometimes when you really into whatever your drawing it gets frustrating! Lol. Also the ruler is slow reacting. I don’t mind but figured I’d let the developers know. When it’s fixed I’ll come back and write a 5 star review🤩

I would give it a 4.5 if that existed..... Hi, Autodesk, I would like to say that this app was great, and I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars if App Store could make users do that. Here’s why I’m giving a 4 (technically 4.5) instead of a perfect 5: 1. Sometimes when I close the app only for a while, and then come back, the screen is just black. I do this a few times? Still a black screen, and once I even had to shut down my device and restart it. Thank God that Sketchbook autosaves... 2. This is on the drawings. Sometimes, dark black lines will appear more faded, or even not look as clean, smooth or straight. What’s up with that? (This has only happened to me twice, not on consecutive days or weeks) 3. This is just a recommendation. Can you give sketchbook users to set a background for a sketch (like what FlipaClip does), or even be able to make us export it as a transparent PNG file? I hope that you will hear me out, and I’m not forcing you, but it’s best to respond. Thank you!

BEST EVER. Mk so when I saw the video for this app I KNEW it wasn’t gonna be as good as it says, and since I had been using Drawing Desk at the time I thought you would have to pay for all the luxuries that "come" with the app like you have to in Drawing Desk (btw SO do not recommend that app). But I decided to still give SketchBook a try, and I am TELLING YOU this is the best free drawing app. I can’t say it’s the best in the world cuz there’s still REALLY GOOD ones like Procreate. ( My only problem with Procreate is that it costs money but if you’re looking for a non free, super LEGIT, everything you could ask for, fancy drawing app I would recommend that one) (oops I got off subject). ANYWAY I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app and would never delete it. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS!! You have every tool imaginable every color and it comes with an automatic camera thing that records the drawing being made!! SO MAKE SURE TO HIT THAT GET BUTTON! 😉 YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT 😄

This app is the best I have seen so far! 🖌. Hi! This review is coming from a beginner in the drawing community. I used to always draw on IbisPaintX. It was to only good app I could find that had somewhat decent brushes, smudge and blur, etc. Then, my friend who has been drawing for years show me this app. After a while, I ended up getting the app. This app has SO MANY more options! The controls are fairly easy to learn, that may be because I am good with tech though. My art has improved a bunch in the mere months I have had this app! Many of my successful drawings are on this app! I have not seen any glitches, it hasn’t froze, etc. The gallery, saving options and anything like that are easy to learn. I recommend this to all artists! And don’t worry about purchasing anything, absolutely everything in the app is free! That is the best part! Well, that is all I have to say! Have a nice day or night whoever is reading this!

Amazing overall! Suggestions!✨. It’s a great app, I’ve been using it for a few months now! It’s all free no payments at all. Has a wide variety of brushes with different textures to use. Perfect when it comes to layering you can even color label your layers! But there are a few setting requests I would like to see. A Gaussian blur effect would be extremely nice! Though the blending brush works fine it just doesn’t look the same. An alpha lock option, where you can lock a layer then make new layer and color only the locked layer. Let us make our own color palettes and save them for future drawings or a color history. While I’m at it a allowing us make our own brush sets. And instantly making a timely when we start drawing! These are a few things that would make it much easier and nice for artists on this app! Of course though I have had a few glitches here and there but it has never effected my art in the end!

Great but a couple little problems.. I feel like this app is great, and although I’m not a very great artist it still so easy to use and very noob friendly however I do still have a few problems. The first would be the lower back or forwards buttons; it’s just hard to hit those lower corners with those buttons there. I see the convenience in that position but I think the buttons are fine on the tool bar. My other problem is a little bigger than just a button position. On every different sketch I do there is always some place on the “paper” where it just doesn’t work. I can draw anything in that region and nothing will show up, I don’t even if it’s a software glitch or what but, I do know that it’s not on my end because I literally just got a new iPad. So a fix would be great! Overall the app is great, just those little tweaks and its a 5 star app. I hope that you read this comment and get to work on those tweaks, thx!

Is a great game. What I noticed is that the game is a lot like procreate and it has a nice pencil feeling to it. The only bad thing is that the fill in bucket I don’t think that it is on the game. You can put your own pics in the art which is very easy,it has multiple brushes, and it’s allowing you to pick your own color, the only thing tho is also that when you blend the color the blender has to be the same color as the color that you are trying to blend so that means that it is still putting white in the color but it is also putting the same color on so it would stay the same color. I also noticed that you can add layers which is very nice. So it is like procreate but it is totally free no adds and no payment to get any of the brushes. You just have to put in your email and create a password that you will remember 👏🏻👏🏻😍🥰

The lag killed it for me. I thought this program was great, however one reason why I am giving it three stars and not more is due to I have experience lag or the program not responding at all. I had this sketch app also on my Microsoft surface pro and it lagged , and even would just close on me at times .(and I had thought maybe it was just something with the program and that device ) . I recently got an iPad Air and I am at a wow with it because -the non responsive of the sketch program is even more on the iPad for me than on the Microsoft surface pro. … I just doodle, but it annoys me enough that I’m using other drawings application programs. Sorry for not giving an A+, there’s many things I love with this sketch book app but the functionality and lag really killed it for me, and with the same issues on two separate devices really help me decide to share my thoughts. Thanks ! And keep at it, there’s some really awesome features I felt with this application program; but I do think there’s some bugs to be worked out.

Bored in Quarantine. So the whole quarantine thing is going on and I was looking through apps that I downloaded awhile ago then I saw this app and I was like ohh I don’t remember using this so I went on it and I’m so glad I did. Everyday I go on there and I find something different to use that’s so cool to draw with. And I can make wallpapers and quotes and post them on Pinterest it’s super fun and I never wrote reviews this long so you know it’s worth it and I recommend using a stylus with it because it makes it easier to draw with but that’s just my opinion, and the thing is I’m not even good at drawing but I can do sooo many cool things that doesn’t require you to be really good at drawing and if you are good at drawing it’s really cool, or if you’re good at painting but you may not have the supplies at the time you can paint on here(me). So I definitely recommend this app for anyone.😁

not rly good. So i wanted to use a new drawing software for my tablet and i thought, *oh this app is good!* and it was at firrst.. the drawing and sketch part was good but when i wanted to color u cud only use 2 layers and i was like “thats kinda bs but whatever” and i always use more then 2 layers i use like 11 but 2 was good for a basic cartoony character. so i tried again to do more then 2 layers but then k realized u have to pay which os sorry, retarded. so when i was coloring the hair like always, i had tk be aft (away from tablet) real quick, then i came back and colored the hair and some of the hair i disnt get earlier and it made a darker color. it looked like when you had ur opacity to 80 and colored on top on the same thing. then i was like ”ok ill just erase it and color again, might be a glitch.” and it wasnt i did and it looked really badder so i erased it and i went back to the old dark brown in the middls of the hair look. and then i forgot you cant add more layers u have to pay for it which is stupid. i wanted to add a background but i couldnt CUZ U CANT ADD ANOTHER BACKGROUND. i wouldnt download this app its ok if u wanted to but ok.

Glitch. The app is very great! I’ve been using it for about three years though there’s been a glitch that has recently been happening, whenever I’m done doing a drawing, I exit out and see that the drawing I was making shows a previous look of my drawing, I thought it was just a bug that made it look something that was done already, I clicked shared and saved image but I checked the image and it showed the previous version of the drawing, I was confused why it wasn’t showing my drawing that was fully done. I know I may not be explaining this right, for example I was making this drawing and I never exited out until I was finished, once I was finished I saw that the drawing wasn’t the exact same finish, it showed part of the process of the drawing but not the finished, then I saved the image and the image didn’t save the finish, only the part of the process. Hopefully I explained that ok? Anyways you guys keep doing what you’re doing!

Awesome drawing and painting app! Although.... This app is an absolute colossal of flexibility. The interface’s simplicity allows me to get around and use tools and other amenities quickly and efficiently. Not to mention the broad range of brushes and pencils and all, it is overall a very good app in maximizing the potential of artists with it’s selection of tools and sorts. Painting and drawing has never been any easier with this wonderful app! Although, despite the very good things that come with this app, there are a few drawbacks that I would like to list out as an agenda. -There is no tool for cutting and moving certain parts of the drawing, (and yes I’m aware that there IS this tool that does the described feature.) it isn’t emphasized and is hard to operate in the separate section from the sorts of tools and does not even move CERTAIN parts of the drawing. The ‘Lasso’ tool isn’t even any help, as all I could ever understand of using is it is merely nothing. -The ‘undo’ button when you hide the interface, at the corner of the screen fails to do it’s purpose. I make a bigger mess when trying to press it instead of undoing mishaps in the drawing. Okay this isn’t actually that big of a list for an agenda, but you get my point I’m trying to prove. This app is great though and I would totally recommend it to anyone who is on the outset of their art journey.

Better than most free apps. I’ve tried some other apps for drawing, but this honestly is my favorite. It’s great because it’s free, yet offers a good bunch of tools, and has features I haven’t really seen in others. From time to time I do have a small issue though, when using predictive stroke the app sometimes freezes, which makes me happy that auto save is a thing because it will just close if I wait, so closing the app completely on my own is my best option. This may just be me, but it doesn’t get in my way much, so I have no issue with it. The tools themselves don’t feel weird like other programs tend to, and there isn’t many ’hidden’ features so to say, so in my opinion it is really beginner friendly. And something I don’t remember seeing on any of the other free programs I have tried is being able to change an entire layers opacity, it helps when I use dark colors for my sketch and need to be able to go over it with clean lines.

Very frustrating. If I want to draw I can use procreate, since you only have limited brushes here, but I JUST WANT TO DRAW SOME RECTANGLES, the ruler doesn’t work because you’ll literally change the angle of your canvas every time you start a new line, sometimes it’s just 1°angle and you didn’t notice it and when you do you already messed up. You can’t touch the screen with your hand AT ALL(it’s not set to react to my hand because I can’t draw on there with hand.) And can you please explain why after I made sure your ruler and the side of paper is lined up, and I drew with rectangles tool according to YOUR ruler and they still don’t line up? Also why is the “export as psd” so small in the corner? CAN YOU JUST INCLUDE IT IN SHARE? I HAD TO TRY THREE TIMES TO EXPORT MY LAYERS OUT BECAUSE ITS ALWAYS JPEG YOU WONT SEE THE OPTION IF YOU DONT LOOK FOR IT HARD ENOUGH. Also the start page is confusing af, also the finish piece, feels like just some random buttons floating on a blank black page and you’ll have to guess the meaning. I’ve used ps illustrator in design procreate even ps for iPad and NONE OF THEM GAVE ME A MORE FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE THAN THIS. I LITERALLY TOOK 3 HOURS TO DRAW SOME STUPID LINES. I SHOULD’VE JUST GO TO FEDEX AND USE THE COMPUTERS THERE, FK ME BRO.

Wow ❤️. I’m speechless. This app has everything you need, and it’s pretty much all free. I’ve been using Ibis Paint X for about 3 years now, and it was hard for me to find an app to get just as comfortable with. Most apps either have few tools, or they are just super confusing. This app has a tutorial at the beginning, and many tools. I’ve only been using it for an hour and I pretty much know what everything does! This app is really amazing, but it isn’t perfect. I wish you could add a blurring brush or option, because that would be useful for shading, etc. Also, can we be allowed to bucket/select areas even if it’s not on the same layer? To me, that would be really useful! Overall, in my opinion this is one of the greatest drawing program/app ever!! Keep up the good work!! (Also...if you already have some of the suggestions I’ve written please tell me because I’m still new to this app so yeah...)

Why do I need internet. I am currently on a long road trip with my family, and since I am not driving, I was going to enjoy a bit of drawing using this app. The app itself is fantastic, the brushes are great, the layout is intuitive, etc., however I couldn’t access any of my stuff because there is not INTERNET. I do not understand why INTERNET is needed to draw. I’ve never had this problem before, and frankly it’s ridiculous. I know the app is now completely free, but i didn’t originally pay 5 DOLLARS for me not to be able to use it whilst traveling!! I can’t even look at my gallery! Why do I need INTERNET to use a DRAWING APP?? It’s NOT social media! I know that there are new “sketchbook subscriptions” but you don’t need to DISABLE THE WHOLE APP because I don’t have internet! Please allow us, the users, to be able to at least enjoy the app wherever we are! What if I want to visit a cafe and doodle a bit?? Then I can’t use this app and then it’s useless. I hope that wasnt a huge mouthful. Many thanks—

Not beginner friendly-Gallery could be more efficient.. This is written is a state of frustration, so the rating might go up later, but as a new user who is used to Corel, Inkscape, Photoshop etc, my short time with the app has been very frustrating. The gallery makes no sense at all. I wish the app would open to a sane gallery layout, first, and not the convoluted way you have to get to the gallery after opening the app. Also, sometimes the context menu doesn’t come up for certain layers. I cannot get layers to clear, delete or find out why this happens in any Help forums. I finally ended up uninstalling/reinstalling to try to get back to doing art. Again, this is from a frustrated new iPad Pro user, so I know some of it is a ‘’Me’’ issue. I want to like Sketchbook due to the oval utility which I use a lot, but the aforementioned issues are really putting a damper on the learning process. Hopefully that will change with time. Thank you for listening to my concerns.

Best drawing app (w/ some additions). This is the first review I’ve ever written. I’m doing it because it is the best free drawing app and with a few adds could be the best overall in my opinion. I’m an architect and current Autodesk subscriber, so I use the app for early design sketches of buildings, then bring those into FormIt, then into Revit... I do like keeping everything under the same ‘umbrella’. Here are a few simple suggestions that would keep me from using other apps: - A 2-d grid. This should be a slam dunk for you guys since there is already a perspective grid. I’m actually shocked that an AEC tech company did not think to put ‘graph paper’ in their sketching app. - “Infinite canvas”. It would be great to have something like Concepts’ feature and then be able to print to scale on a sheet...we could call it something like: paper space / model space. - Scale. The ability to draw and print at scale would be great and could facilitate some of my above suggestions. - Linetypes. This is another simple one that other apps have conquered. It would be great to have at least one type of dashed line. I’ve created a couple semi-successful hacks by modifying some brush settings but an actual tool would be great. These are all very archi-centric comments but again, things I sort of expect from Autodesk. All that said, this app has become indispensable and I love it. Keep up the good work.

It amazing!. I’m a big drawer and artist, and I’m trying to get better as much as I can. I’m improving, and I wanted to take my drawing up a notch rather than trying to make my comics, books, and drawings on paper and very petite canvases. Fortunately, I still to drawings on paper 😉! I decided to get a drawing app to do digital drawings, but I had a problem. #1, I had to find an app that wouldn’t not save my work, (like most apps do), not cost money in-app or not, and have good quality to where it meets my liking and I’m comfortable using it. #2, I have to draw with my fingers. I don’t have an Apple Pencil or anything like that, and it really challenging to find one and draw with only your pointer finger. Then, I found this app. It met all my likings and I’m just beginning to use and like it! I hope as I use and as well as progress on this app, I will get better at my drawings! Continue developing and working on this app to make it better for others and wish you the best of luck in the future 🙏🏻👍🏼☺️!

Watch out Procreate! There’s a new drawing app in town!. Okay where do I start?! This app is just perfect in every way possible! I can’t buy procreate from the App Store so I looked at some apps and after I got this app, I’ve never looked back! I am fairly new to digital art, I’ve basically been doing traditional art ever since but this app helps me get used to using different brushes/tools, the canvas size, how to improve my drawing knowledge, how to use different rulers + how to use symmetry and way more! I would totally recommend this app to others who are new to digital art too since it’ll teach you how to use different materials when drawing instead of pencil and pen. A small suggestion I have is to maybe add animating kinda like Ibis Paint X did or something similar to Flipaclip. It would open a new creativity as too what people could animate as well as drawing away. Of course, this is just a suggestion so you don’t have to consider it but i mean if you want too I would love to see it added! Overall, if you’re struggling with all the complications with digital art or have just started (like me) then I 100% suggest using this app as a first step! -Sincerely, Me

Amazing. Works well with my Logitech pen and Mouse! Works without internet and you can edit your photos or make them look prettier without paying. With the images you can erase, color over, fix mistakes, fix anything on school pictures before putting them on your portfolio. You can make the same colors with the dropper pen if you chose a different color or really liked a color and you cannot find the correct shade! I use this app like photoshop for instance, I had a cute picture of my dog but I had to edit the background because we took it in the street because we were on a walk and someone’s car was in the background which was a parked car NOT MOVING. I made the street look like a window! I also drew a Hamilton animatic and needed to animate it because I have another bad app that I use, and I found sketchbook motion witch really helped! Overall its an amazing app!!!

I love this app! A few things though.... So, to start off, this is an amazing app. I absolutely love it. I use it all the time. Unfourtunately, there are a few things I have been having problems with. So I have this app on my iPad mini 4 and iPhone 6s. I have noticed that on my iPad, sometimes when I'm drawing, the screen wont sense my touch or something and it makes tiny little lines instead of the one long line I was trying to do. It gets quite annoying. This may not be the app, or it might be something I'm doing, but it gets quite annoying. Another is that on my iPhone, sometimes when I'm using the fill tool set to sample all layers, and I hid the background color so the background is transparent, the thing doesn't color in the lines of even the layer I'm on. Other than that, this app is amazing in every way and I love it. Thank you! ^w^

Suggestions. This is my favorite drawing app ever. I purchased the full version a while ago and I use the app frequently. One suggestion I have is an easier way to find certain brushes, like an option for using different way to organize them, or a search bar to search for certain brushes. That would be really helpful because I have hundreds of brushes that I have to scroll through to find a specific brush. Edit: Another thing would be to add a search bar for the fonts. Edit:Another suggestion would be to make it to where you can create any size canvas(up to a certain limit) but right now you can’t create really small canvases and it would be awesome if you could and would allow you to make pixel art. Edit:Maybe add more shapes that you can make(instead of lines, squares, and circles). Maybe like triangles, stars, etc. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because of the few suggestions I have. Thanks for an awesome app

Great app!. I would 100% recommend this app to anybody from beginner artist to pro artist, it has many cool features that you can discover and use easily with a great understanding. I can’t think of a single complaint for this app, I think it should have a better reading even though it still has a quite high one. This app has everything from a gallery of your art, a large variety of brushes, many adjustable settings for your brushes, layers, the way that you can select then mold things, the ability to see the opposite color of what you’re using, and much, much, more! If you have read this review and I have haven’t persuaded you to buy this yet then you are probably a very picky person who thinks I’m lying about the true greatness of this quality app. Just get this app. Get it now. It’s awesome. Stop reading this review and just buy it. You don’t need to read any other reviews, just buy it.

Crashing issues. Hi autodesk team, I am a long time user of the sketchbook app! I had it on my note 5, iPhone 6, 7, and iPad Pro. Recently I have been dealing with consistent crashing issues, I'll set the scene for you. I paste a picture using the import from gallery icon, then I accept it after I have resized it, I then go to change my utensils color from red to black. I click on the floating pill shaped icon and bring up the color wheel. I select the color and then I tap outside the color selection pop up. The app takes a second and then force closes. I really enjoy being able to draw on my tablet and I further enjoy being able to use autodesk, I am also familiar with the cad program that is also offered from autodesk. So being able to continue to diversify myself with more and more autodesk programs is enjoyable. Since my crashing issue I have resorted to using other illustration apps. I have a paid sketchbook app and this issue is really turning me off from this app. So please help me resolve this issue!

Great app, sad upgrade. I love the app. So much that I bought the Pro version 2.x! However, when iOS updated to 11, Pro 2.x no longer worked and I read a lot of people completely lost their work. Thankfully, I always sent my saved files to iCloud and was able to reimport once I upgraded. Unfortunately, even though I paid for the Pro version, I had to pay again, despite the fact it was because iOS upgraded, not because I wanted to. But all software makes you pay for upgrades, so that’s how it is. The big issue is that so many people lost their work because of the upgrade. This is because of two reasons: There was no warning; and the new version didn’t access the previous version’s existing data. 1) There should have been warnings all over the place that you WILL lose ALL of your previous work if you upgrade. This is the developer’s fault. 2) The upgraded app should have automatically just used the same folder as the old version. Easy peasy. This is also the developer’s fault. Fortunately, if you sent your files to iCloud, you can copy them to Dropbox, rename the extension from .skb to .psd and import them from Dropbox. iCloud won’t let you rename the extension, but Dropbox will. It’s a bit of a hassle, but the above two issues are the reason I dropped my 5-star rating down to 3. It’s the best painting app out there, despite having bonehead devs.

Amazing 1 problem. So this app is amazing you can draw whatever you want you can make your lines look perfect you just have to tap certain button you can color up your pictures you can really draw anything and you can do really cool shading blending everything but one problem so I will draw something and then it’ll freeze and I had to close out the app and go back on it it’s just kind of annoying because I have to do it every single five minutes to get on there and sometimes when I’m trying to draw something it just resets and I can’t draw it and then I have to close out of the app and go back in it to be able to draw the thing I did and then I don’t save what I do so to draw it again or just don’t drive at all just please fix this problem and I will be fine because I really recommend this app because if you really like drawing I recommend this app

Amazing app! Just one request!. Hallloooo. Ok so this app is amazing! It helped me with many art pieces and it was very helpful for my anxiety, and short attention span. The only thing is I got a new phone and I wanted to transfer my projects from my old phone and transfer them here. But I wanted to transfer my projects onto my new phone but it would be easier with an account system! So I was thinking if you could develop some account system thing that is totally optional if you want an account or not. And if as long as your longed into the account you have all projects you made. On any device. Obviously there would probably be a security system just in case if hackers try to break in. And ALSO maybe you could make it so that we have a choice to make some of our projects public or not! Just a request! It would be very good to have! :]

The ONLY sketch app you need. This has truly been the greatest sketch/drawing/design app I’ve had. Downloaded a LOT of apps and slowly but surely I deleted Concepts, Paper, etc. because this app outperformed them and with a cleaner interface. I even use this as a photoshop/image editing (light of course) app and gets the job done insanely good and considering the latest photoshop release, this app currently beats it in its own game as well. I’ve sketched, designed, image edited on this and it’s so intuitive and so many features you find new ones even after using it for a long time. In conclusion this is a VERY well polished app, and it’s FREE. It’s mind blowing, I’m so thankful this has helped bring so many ideas to life, from product design, car design, sketching, etc.. Big thanks to the developers!! Hopeful features: In Text, would be great to have color picker to change letter color and also higher quality/resolution text.
