Great, but. I love the simplicity of this app, I love the layout and ease of use, and I love its features. I haven’t been overdrawn once since I started keeping track of my finances with this app. However, there is one annoying bug that keeps popping up where the app will duplicate my recent transactions and it throws everything off. I had to delete 180+ items yesterday that the app made copies of, which is time-consuming and potentially could still mess up my budget if I don’t catch them all. Edit: This bug just happened again and I had to manually delete 270+ duplicates 🙃

What I was looking for.. I use a reward credit card like a debit card so that I can get airline tickets. So I want to keep track of both my checking account & credit card charges. I also want to see a running total in real time so I know how much money I actually have. I thought this app did not do that. I emailed the developer and within less than 24 hrs, I was told how to see that running total. In the home page, you simply pull the accounts down. Originally, I gave the app 3 stars because I thought it did not have this feature. I am revising it to 5 stars, for now. This is a new app for me so time will tell. The last app I used lost all my data when I upgraded to a new phone. I pray that is not the case with this app!

Simple and Clean. I have this installed on an iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro. I wanted a simple and clean personal finance app that allowed me to keep track of debits and credits for various accounts and sync the info between devices. I’d gone through so many apps and could never quite find what I was looking for. The interfaces were either too cluttered/sloppy or they lacked some of the customization options I wanted. This app is quick, has a very nice design, backs up to iCloud, and offers lots of good features that are not pushed on you, but are there if you want them.

Keeps getting better. I just read the release notes and realized that you can now rearrange the payee, category, and description fields. That is awesome as I’ve always felt they were in the wrong order. I’ve always entered them in reverse order. This is my #1 favorite app. Edit: Well this is strange. Went to edit my previous review, which is usually the only option if you’ve previously left a review, but it opened a blank review page. I figured Apple must have removed my prior review. Once posted, I see that it replaced my prior review but left the developer response of the old review. So now it looks as if the developer responded before I left the review, and responded to issues not in my review. With Apple it just works, except when it fails.

The best way to budget if you don’t trust robots. I love being in control of my budget, and Debit & Credit gives me complete control and lots of tools to organize all my information. When checking bank or credit card apps can be confusing with available balance vs statement balance vs current balance, I always prefer checking my official log in Debit & Credit where I know what everything means and how much money is where. My only issue is the latest update that added folders has caused some weird bugs in the color scheme that make it hard to parse some information, but the addition of folders is a godsend so I’m not complaining.

Best app I have.. I’ve been using it for over 2 years. It’s the best app I have. The customer service is great!!!! I had a little problem after about 2 1/2 years after updating my Mac desktop (which in all likelihood caused the problem) and had the help I needed very quickly and it was fixed in a couple of minutes. It would be great if they all worked so well and the customer service was this good. THANKS!

Love it. I unexpectedly had to switch finance apps. On short notice after YEARS of use.I needed something easy to set up, that was cost effective and easily and seemless when it came to syncing between devices without having to pay for multiple versions or platforms. My income is VERY limited . This fits perfectly. I love the simplicity compared to my previous app. My only 2 suggestions would be. Different color fonts for debits, credits, and balances. And 2. The possibility of a lifetime subscription option. Although the yearly option works wonderfully I’m sure. I’ll find out in a few days

Exactly what I needed. I had a lot of requirements of a budget/money management app. Needed to sync with multiple devices. Needed to handle multiple currencies. Needed to both track money use as well as budgeting. Needed to be easy enough for my wife to use, but complex enough to work with our complex budgeting. Needed to be a one-time payment (not a fan of subscriptions). Ultimately, after trying at least a dozen apps, this was recommended to me, and I couldn't have been happier. Hope the dev keeps up the hard work, because he/she has come up with a great product.

Easy to use and just works. Love this app and I upgraded to the premium version. I was just looking for something simple and easy to use to track expenses and a budget. Tried a bunch of other apps and they were too clunky and packed with features that are not needed. This app is fast and very easy to use. It does exactly what I needed and then some. Very intuitive to use.

This App was made for me.. I have used and tried several finance tracking apps over the past couple years and never very satisfied with any of them. Most are too complicated that I end up not using them or bloated with features that clutter the interface or too simple to get much value out of. This app is amazingly intuitive and simple yet packed with nearly all the features I need to track successfully my finances and spending. It is very easy to add transactions and the reporting is useful. There is so much thought behind every function that I can tell a lot of time was spent perfecting the experience. I'm actually using the budget feature because it is so simple and because the tagging feature is perfect to track what me or my wife spend individually and I can also tag transactions that I'll need to reference when it comes time to do my Income Tax. The missing feature I could use the most is to have the budget reflect pending transactions. I really like the ability to change the color of the background along with the color of the app icon. I make it a different color than the other apps on my home screen so it stands out and I can quickly find it. I have too many red and blue apps and I sometimes open wrong one. I would love other developers to do the same.

The OSX version is good, the iOS version is mediocre. The OSX version is powerful and easy to use, no major issues. The iOS version wastes screen space by assigning about 1/3 of the screen to listing of account names and balances (in one line) and bookkeeping settings. The display of the important data is cramped into the remaining 2/3 of the screen. Running balances are listed in fine print and descriptions, categories, and payees are fused together, obscuring their meaning. The time when a transaction is entered is displayed also, a useless information, since it is unrelated to the time when the transaction is executed. The sharing of data between computers running OSX and iOS is a plus. I give the OSX Version five stars, the iOS version two stars.

Synchronizes itself. It writes its data in your User Library of your Mac, and synchronizes automatically to iCloud and from there to your iPad, iPhone and iWatch. So if you’re into the Apple ecosystem, you’re all set. You can enter transactions on the go anywhere, and all your devices will have the same data. Whenever you can just fire up your mac and it will sync in a flash.

Amazing Support. I was using the free version of this app until I wanted to share with my husband. The additional functionality that the premium version provides is 100% worth the investment. I did have an issue initially with my husband’s app in his phone. It ended up being due to the fact that we didn’t have family sharing enabled, but I sent an email through the “contact support” section and Ivan was so responsive and helpful. He walked me through the sharing issue I was having and never got frustrated with my lack of understanding. Amazing customer support in addition to an incredible app. 100% recommend!

Best I have found so far. I am the treasurer for our local Girl Scouts and we have to do financial reports at the end of each program year. This app makes this process simpler. I used categories that correspond to the GS paper work and run a report for income and one for expenses and done! I would like to see the option to save multiple reports all with their own defaults. Not all of my accounts have the same income/expense categories so to run a report I have to change categories, etc each time. Also would like to be able to assign a custom color to each account to make it visually easier to differentiate between accounts.

Love it, but could improve. This is a fantastic app. I love the unlimited accounts. The extras, like budgeting, planning, and reports are awesome. Things I would change: Transactions: Adding the ability to split transactions to multiple categories and divide the funds. If I spend $100 at one store with $90 in groceries and $10 in pets, I currently have to create 2 transactions. Balances: I’d like to have the option of having the running balance show the uncleared balance, with the cleared balance on top. I’d also like to be able to change those options per account, so I can have one account with an uncleared balance and another with a cleared balance. Credit Accounts: I wish there was a way to input the interest rates on credit accounts and have it calculate any monthly fees. It would also be nice to change the option of viewing the available balance vs outstanding balance. It seems that one the account is created, this cannot be changed. Loan Accounts: An option for loan accounts would be beneficial. Again, with the option of adding the interest rate, so that I could see how much is going to principle and how much is going to interest. Overall, I like this app WAY more than Mint or Truebill.

Okay app. I like that it will project my balance into the future based on my repeating and future transactions. But it has been making duplicates of my transactions recently and that should be fixed. Why there are the options to “clear” transactions and/or “reconcile” them, I’m not sure. But I do know if I don’t “clear” the transactions they won’t compute the right balance. So I feel like I am doing double the work when I only want to reconcile them to my statements every month only once. Also, there is no option to “roll up” transactions to save space. If I want to remove old transactions I have to delete them one by one, and if these transactions are transfers to other accounts within the app, the transfer is deleted in the other account, even if you don’t want to delete that transfer within the second account. It’s a decent app, the only one I found that has the features I need (like a report of transactions) but it is quirky and takes some getting used to.

Just downloaded and it’s perfect!. I’ve been using MoneyWiz 2 since 2012 and the developers have retired it, moving on to a new paid subscription MoneyWiz3 app. I don’t want a monthly/yrly paid subscription app that directly links to my bank. I prefer manually adding my receipts, bills and income. Thankfully I found this app very similar to what I was using so it’s goodbye MoneyWiz2 for me. Debit&Credit is exactly what I was looking for, simplicity and functionality, it’s perfect. Purchased this for iPad, iPhone and my MacBook Pro!

Great app even after years of using it. I bought this app to replace another that was not longer being updated. My husband and I sync our transactions with each other and need the ability to see all transactions on all devices. I have been using this app now for a couple years and have been very happy with the interface, options and especially the customer service and tech support. I have had a couple of questions over the years and each time I have reached out for help Ivan has responded very quickly, almost always within an hour. He had always been able to help me immediately. I would recommend this app for its usability and the fact that the developer is engaged and providing a quality product.

So far, so good!. I was using a different checkbook app and syncing broke on it so I had to find a new one. Syncing is a must for me, between my iPhone and iPad, and this app works flawlessly so far. And it syncs to iCloud rather than the developer’s servers so privacy is secure. One suggestion for the developer: maybe add an option to make pending items in the register a different color, either the text or the background, so they are easier to find? Thanks!

It just keeps getting better!. I’ve been using this app for years to keep up with my checking account. Looking to see how much money I have in the bank before I shop doesn’t work for me because I inevitably forget to allow enough for my bills. This app lets me go ahead and deduct all my bills, even if I haven’t officially paid them yet, so that I always know how much money I really have. Over the years I’ve tinkered with the categories and really streamlined it and I can enter a purchase in seconds. Love the new clean look with iOS 14! Especially the color coding that turns income green and expenses red.

Best of breed. Import feature is what makes this app worth 5 stars. Would like the ability to create a duplicate entry: swipe left and tap duplicate icon. Would also suggest balancing the font sizes from the account listing to the charge list. Might suggest using the font from the settings pages. Finally, please make the fonts on the lighter themes black. White on beige, for example, is hard to read. Otherwise, I love it. Wouldn’t bother making these suggestions if I didn’t think it was a great product.

Just Go Ahead and Buy Full Version. The free version is great but you only get two Accounts. Paid version is unlimited accounts and I use those for banks, credit cards, loans to and also from me, kids allowance balances, etc. I even track what I put in the coin jar with an Account that I named... wait for it... Coin Jar. Love the Plus and Minus and Transfer (between accounts) features but please fix it so when a Plus or Minus is edited, it can also be converted to a transfer. That functionality disappears for some reason and could save people a lot of steps when they convert from Free to Paid versions. (So just go ahead and buy the Paid version, People - you won't regret it.)

great app functionally, but buggy. Been a fan of this app for 2 years now. Glad that it remained consistently useful, minimalistic and did not overcomplicate things with too much useless functionality. On the flip side, i get little annoying bugs now and then. Particularly in the Apple Watch app (which was my primary reason to subscribe): Debit & Credit watch faces are out of sync with the main app most of the time, and I just can’t figure it out, what’s the logic behind this bug 🤷🏻‍♂️ I use Budgets complication and it almost never matches what the the budget is in the iOS version. Sometimes (not always) the account balances and transactions are outdated (old) in the watch os, and up-to-date in iOS! In the Watch OS app it shows my 2-days old transactions and marks them “Today” and “yesterday”, as if date didn’t update in the app

The perfect app for me and my finances. I was using an another app before but their privacy policy was no longer for me (using my financial info) This app is very powerful but have a clean and simply look. Two things that i miss on this app and it will be wonderful if it can be implemented its to be able to get some icons for the categories and payee because for example when we got a lot of categories it can be really difficult to found the one directly. And last thing that i will live to see it’s in the reports an option to see a pie chart with the categories spending and income with the icons that i was mentioned before.

Good Account Balancer but missing easy features. I like the clean look of this app but It would be easier on the user if we could see balanced and unbalanced amount at the top at the same time on accounts. I would also like to have the option for checkboxes to check off a cleared transaction instead of tapping on the pending transaction or swiping right to clear it. Those are my only two complaints but the app works flawlessly with iCloud sync between my iPad and iPhone. Keep up the great work and thank you.

Customer for Years. Over the years, I have come to absolutely love Debit & Credit for its simplicity and uncompromising power. Ivan is genuine and lightning fast with responses to questions. Hands down, this is one of the most amazing apps I have seen - and he has THE best customer support I’ve ever seen - anywhere. It is absolutely astonishing what Ivan has packed in to this tool. I have tried so many apps - from indie developers to off the shelf big-name products, but Ivan’s continued development and increased feature set seems to unleash a power that is unparalleled. I will gladly be a premium subscriber for years to come as this is an app that delights and delivers. Best Customer Service from a Developer Ever!!. Ivan (the developer) also makes the Parcel tracking app which I love. I bought Debit & Credit to change from another program (MoneyWell). There were initially some challenges trying to match features from the old program I was using. I emailed support and Ivan responded immediately. More recently I had an issue with iCloud sync trying to share the app with my wife. It turns out the problem is related to iCloud and I was exceeding the maximum number of entries that iCloud allows to be synced between 2 different iCloud accounts. Regardless, Ivan exchanged 15 emails (including on weekends) with me trying to come up with work-arounds. He even created different “test” versions of the App for me to try in order to see if I could sync all my transactions successfully. Best customer service from any App Developer that I have ever experienced!!

Very impressed!. What a great app and what a savior solution to the dilema I had after the other app I had been using stopped working with iOS 10. I had about 9 years of my checking account register in that app, and was luckily able to export into a CSV file and import everything into Debit & Credit. I just finished reconciling two years of bank statements with the Mac app, and I use the iPhone version every day as I make purchases. Absolutely love the simplicity, design and “it just works” aspect of this app and the mobile version. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well and fast iCloud sync is between my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Well worth the price! Over the last year, I reached out to the developer with a few feature requests. Because I use this app daily, I thought I’d ask, knowing I probably would never hear anything back. However, I am pleased to say I received replies from the developer very quickly, and my requests are now part of the app I use every day on my Mac and devices, THANKS! Thanks for creating such a great app, and keep up the great work!!!

Thrilled!. I discovered this app after slogging through app after app that wouldn’t allow both myself and my husband to access and add transactions from our various devices. The fact that we can do that with this app, and have it on our Mac as well is incredible! We were terrible about letting our receipts pile up, then have a mountain of work to get our checking account ledger up to date. This app is very well executed. I thought there were a couple of features that we had on our previous desktop app that were missing, but upon looking at the settings, we are able to do everything we had been able to with that one. Transactions populate our various devices, including watch, incredibly quickly. So freaking happy! We can finally enter our info on the fly and skip the misery of entering everything for a month at one time. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Keep up the fantastic work!!

Love that I can Share the info. I love the fact I can instantly sync and share all our household info with my husband. I used to use an app that I would have to screenshot the balances in order to share them. I also love that I can print off all my transactions. It’s straight forward and easy to use. I bought the premium version and it’s the easiest $20 I’ve ever spent….especially on an app.

Like app, would love if haven’t had issues.. I did love this app cause it’s only app that I can find that ICloud sync between watch, iPad and iPhone work! It freaking works, but the main reason I didn’t give it 5, is because I’ve had days when app’s addition and subtraction doesn’t work correctly. I was racking my brain to reconcile my bank account ( which I’m OCD about doing everyday) and I entered every thing correctly, and balance was off (not by much) I had to go in and clear everything from days entry and start over, it corrected itself somehow. My question is this, how does a computer glitch cause math to NOT work? Has anyone else had this problem?

Must Have Financial Tracking App. Debit and Credit is the best financial tracking app out there! I’ve tried numerous apps in the past, but this is the first one that has satisfied my needs without requiring me to wade through tons of unnecessary complicating features. The beauty of this app (in my opinion) lies in its simplicity. Everything is manual, so I keep it on my phone’s home screen and quickly enter in transactions right after I make them in real life. Ever since downloading the app, I have become much better about actually keeping track of where I’m spending my money in addition to sticking to budgets that I set. I also love that it has a desktop app, so I can easily see all of my purchases on my laptop as needed. PS: You can customize the app color and background too, which makes it easy to find amidst all your other apps!

This is the financial app I’ve been looking for. I am old school and wanted to find an app that I could track my household spending as well as reconcile my checking, savings and credit cards with. I also wanted to generate a monthly income/expense report. All the other budgeting apps in the App Store were useless to me; I tried 5-6 of them including big names like Mint and Quicken. This is the first app that does just what I am looking for. The interface is simple and understandable. I purchased the Premium level so I could load more than two accounts (I use four). Ivan has been very helpful since I began using his app. He responded to questions within 24 hours and often sooner. Like every financial app, there is a learning curve but I found this one to be very short. I have been using his app for about six months now and really appreciate it. I use it on iphone and ipad; the iCloud interface is simple and reliable.

Awesome App but missing one thing. Don’t get me wrong, this is the best personal financing app I’ve ever used. The budget section is its star feature but I have one suggestion for it, say you wanted to budget how much you spend but also factor in income made from the same categories. (ie. buying/selling books or collectible figures). Basically have a setting to auto track income made as well as spending into budgets. Could this be a feature we see soon?

I’ll never switch. I am someone who has tried almost every budget app there is. I even created my own spreadsheet on numbers/excel in the past because I couldn’t find an app I liked. Then a few years ago I found Debit & Credit. I have loved it from the beginning and I don’t even try to look for new budget apps to use anymore. Every time I email support, they are very responsive and helpful. This app is perfect and easy to use. Highly recommend this one. Thanks Debit & Credit!!

Fantastic App. I use this app more than any other app on my phone. It immediately updates between my phone and my wife’s phone so we have an up to date view of our finances. Very versatile and intuitive. I also use it for my business accounts. You can export in many ways and print your ledgers. You will want to upgrade to the premium version. It’s a one time charge of around $5.00. That’s money well spent. The service and support have been second to none. Anyone that has a bank account should use this app.

An intelligent alternative. This is a beautifully conceived app. It is well thought out and smartly laid out. I initially experienced some frustration owing to my own preconceptions derived from other apps I have used. Once you can clear your mind and accept the app for what it is things quickly begin to fall into place. One of the keys for me was accepting the fact that paying off a credit card balance is actually a transfer of money from a cash account to a debit account rather than one of paying a bill. It’s simplicity veils the careful thought and design that makes it so useful. Well done and worthwhile!

Made my life easier!. I have a habit of keeping track of my spending, but I really don't like apps like Mint which directly reads data from my credit card companies. From this perspective, Debit & Credit is made for me! It not only supports features like balance tracking, transactions scheduling, multiple accounts filing, spending summary, etc., but also enables me to monitor my budget for each month. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to keep a clear picture of their financial status!

Does exactly what I want. I have been using this app for quite some time now. It does exactly what I was looking for. I used other apps in the past but this one has been much far superior as far as functionality and features. It's much easier to record each transaction instead of waiting for it to show up or clear in my bank app that way I know every penny I have at any given moment. Thanks for this app!

Best finance app. I’ve waited awhile to review Debit & Credit. I’m using the premium versions on my Mac and IOS devices. The developer really understands how to make a complicated task easy to do. The interface is remarkably uncluttered, so much so one thinks “this can’t be any good , it’s not complicated enough”. This is where the app really shines , making money management easy to do. The integration between Mac and IOS is seamless. Having bought and used many finance programs over the years Debit & Credit is the best. A special note on their support, had an issue at first when I had the trial version, emailed them , within 15 minutes had a reply that fixed the problem! So I say 5 stars ...Highly recommended !

Efficient, Intuitive, Practical, Easy to Use. I’ve been searching for a way to keep track of income, expenses and net worth using my iPad and have tried several applications but this one beats them all. I especially like the ability to attach receipts and add special notes to each transaction. It is clear that the Developer put a lot of time and energy into perfecting this application. Many thanks from a former quickbooks user!

Needs to be more upfront before purchase. I like everything about this app until I purchased the premium version to share my accounts with a family member. It turns out that the family member also needs a premium account to view more than two accounts even though they are MY accounts under MY premium subscription. Developer stated this is listed under the subscription terms but it is hidden everywhere else including in the section of the user manual “Shared Accounts Limitations.” Developer answered email promptly just wish we could share more than two spending accounts.

The easiest app to use!!!. I have been using this app for over a year now! It’s so intuitive and easy to use! For the last few months I tried several other apps (there were some great reviews for them) and still returned using this one! For a busy mom it’s the best and quickest app to use! I love that my husband and I can share it and send each other our spendings! I love it so much I even considering buying the premium version.

Tried them all... it's the best. After being a Quicken windows user for years and now using only an iPad, I was at a loss for a financial record keeping app. that would fit my needs. Tried them all and this is by far the best one out there. Simple to use, works great and syncs perfectly through the iCloud with my iPhone. My only complaint is with the report options... doesn't offer the flexibility I would like to see.

Great app. I’ve used Accounts 2 for years and loved it, however it has not been updated in over a year so no longer functions properly. I have been searching for a similar app and found this one. It does everything the other app did and more. The learning curve was minimal and I was up and running in no time plus I sent a question to the developer and received a response the same day! If you are looking for an easy to use but fully functional finance app I highly recommend this one.

The BEST!. This App is the best! And I did try many! To make it the absolutely best with no rivals at all (10 Stars!); I would like to se the future transactions—like the duplicates—gray out AND with the future balance also. That way if at the beginning of January I enter all my income and my bills, and maybe that predictable expenses, I will have an overview all the way down to the end of the year. It would be priceless! In fact, you could have only the “recurrent “ visible and gray out (right now they are not, only the “duplicate” are). Also, if when I open the App and select an account, it would be wonderful if the screen stops at today’s date. Right now it runs all to the last duplicate (December 2020 for me since I did manually duplicated income and expenses as I know of). I hope this make sense. I think the App will still maintain the beautiful clean look, yet it would offer something that no other App out there offers. I have both the iPhone and MAC apps. So I would really appreciate a little improvement, on a MAC there is a lot of room to introduce something like this. Thank you all anyway.

Great app. I’m an accountant of a small company. I was needing a way to track all of my spending for the Company and my Personal accounts. I have tried other software and recently have been using spreadsheets to keep control of the expenses. With the updates I have found how to do everything from the website. I like that the company doesn’t have control of my information. I see that I can share the app on different devices which is nice since I travel a lot and need to know what the balances are in each account.

Honest review. Hi! I have had this app for years now. I never had an issue with it until earlier this year (2018) and reached out to support. I got a response quickly and was happy. The app is worth the money I believe. I see there are some negative reviews but doesn’t elaborate on why the low score. Makes me wonder why? It if does what it says it would. This is an app I use daily and not just for my checking but also for other accounts that I balance. I really like this app and I think you will too. :)

My go-to. I have used this app for years. It has assisted me with tracking my spending, scheduling payments, planning for future transactions, and has ,overall, just made life easier. I’ll admit, I don’t use all of the features available, but what I do use is very helpful. I’m the type to keep track of my balances down to the very penny. I haven’t touched a paper checkbook balancer since I’ve began utilizing this app. I refer this app to everybody, but some are just stuck in their ways with paper/pen and that’s understandable. But for me: this is PERFECT. So to the creator of this, THANK YOU! : )

Close to perfection. I was looking for a new personal finance app I could use on my iPhone and iPad. I downloaded and tried too many to count and became super frustrated at the amount of time I spent without finding something I was happy with. Then I tried Debit & Credit. It's a very easy accounting app that backs up to the iCloud. I downloaded the app onto my iMac and loaded up my data. When I downloaded the app onto my iPad and iPhone the data showed up immediately. I could not be happier. I wish QuickBooks Online was as easy through their app.

This is the personal finance app you have been looking for!. Recent update has made an already brilliant app even better. It is intuitive to use and displays all relevant data in a clear and precise manner. Any issues and I have found the developer to be extremely responsive in rendering assistance. Brilliant. I'd been looking for an app such as this for awhile and wasn't happy with the options I had found. This is very easy to use, provides great insights and really helps manage your finances. As yet I haven't found anything I don't like.

Great App for Tracking Accounts. I have been searching for an app to do what this one does so well. Fantastic to have the same information on my Mac, iPhone & iPad, all automatically synced. One minor improvement on the iOS version would be to show the Uncleared Account Balance as available on the OSX version. UPDATE: The developer immediately responded to this comment with the details of how to display the desired information which totally resolved the issue. Great support thanks - well done.

Worth every cent. Right from the start it was easy to use and I had no hesitation in purchasing the yearly subscription…..after just 1 day of using it. This app has everything you need to manage your money.

The best finance tracker on the App Store.. I have tried countless finance tracking apps, but Debit/Credit is easily the best one on the market. I was using Toshl for a year and when they "upgraded" to their second version everything I'd hoped for in the upgrade was instead filled with tackiness. So began my search for another platform to track my finances until I found this. It's easy to use, great UI, design is on point and they're constantly updating their application. After a week of using it, I wasn't at all hesitant upgrading to their premium service and I can see myself using this app for the long run.

I hate managing money.... ...but I love this app. If, like me, you're not a fan of tracking your spending and you loathe spending hours in front of a screen doing just that, then this app may just be for you. There is very comprehensive help included in the app, such that it teaches you how to use the features without having to be an accountant, worrying about what the app is doing. I began by importing some bank transactions to get me started, read the help for the features I needed then began tracking my spending as I went. I have also shared the app with my spouse, so that we can both see what joint spending we are doing and ensure that we stay on budget. Very cleverly this app lets you optionally associate one or more locations with a payee, and it also allows you to tell Siri to create transactions. These are the days of increased privacy - this app has you covered there too. No data collection. As if all this wasn't enough, the developer is extremely responsive to help enquires, which is really nice to see. If you need an app that does money management, at a fair price, and with excellent service from the developer, I encourage you to consider supporting Debit & Credit.

Simple, private, functional.. Great app if you want to keep track of personal finances without the invasiveness of linking your bank accounts.

Still an awesome App. I'm not the best with Math nor finances. I've tried many Apps on iOS that sync with macOS Apps and this one is the only one I've stuck with. I can create budgets, schedule future income and debits/bills. I can track all my spending in a no frills straightforward way. And there's no annoying monthly subscriptions with this App. So if you're like me I really recommend Credit & Debit.

Straight forward and I’m loving it!. I’ve tried a few budgeting apps that are buggy, bloated, and convoluted. This app is the best of the bunch! So simple and easy to use. It pretty much nails everything. I work in the analytics space and I love the developer’s logic reasoning in coding this app. In future release, is it possible to maybe have a web interface for users to work on a windows laptop/desktop? Keep up the good work and more power to you!

The best….. I’ve been using this App since 2014 and I absolutely love it. I still log every purchase and schedule every bill so I never mis anything. Ease of reconciliation and reporting are great and it’s surprising to see just how much you spend (and where you spend it) over the months & years. The free version is great but for the small fee, the enhanced version allowing multiple accounts, etc is absolutely worth it. The developer has provided excellent support and updates. Product enhancements have also been fantastic. Thanks Ivan. Honestly, you will kick yourself for not downloading this App a lot sooner.

Love it! Does just what I want.. Have only been using it for a few days but: Over the years I have used many financial apps. This seems to be one of the best. It doesn’t link with banks which I usually had before, but I am finding it just as useful! My last one was Pocketbook (now defunct) but although that brought in all my expenses from my bank, it often categorised them incorrectly, so I couldn’t trust that it was giving the right information. I am setting up scheduled payments and financial plans, and am thoroughly enjoying working with it as it anticipates what is needed, speeding up the input process. The reports are comprehensive and easy to read. Well done. For $20 a year, it’s a bargain.

Zero based budgeting would be nice. This app is fantastic as it is, but the only thing I want out of it is to have the option of zero based budgeting like with YNAB 🤞 Recently switched to that because that works better for me, but if it comes here, I would switch back in a heartbeat.

Best Accounting App there is. Tried several other apps that were virtually useless. At last I found this which has all the facilities I wanted plus more. Certainly worth the annual subscription fee don’t bother trying anything else.

Doesn’t try to do too many things. This app is the greatest. I’ve downloaded so many apps to keep track of my spending but they all get so complicated with budgets etc. This does the basics, makes it look pretty and I can see exactly where the money goes...But that's a different story!

Easy to use. Does what is says it will do, simple to use if you really only want to track expenditure. Free version has two accounts which is OK for me.

App keeps crashing. Awesome app that does everything I wanted, including keeping track of the available balance on my credit card, and when there was a slight issue with the app, the developer emailed to advise the situation and once again once the app had been corrected. Fantastic app and fantastic support.

Very useful app. For my finance purposes I have found this a very useful app. I love the lay out and that I can include a photograph of my receipts & other items - making it easier to keep track of what I spent each thing on. I also was pleased to be able to export my transactions to my tax accountant as an Excel document - making it a good tool for checking against the receipts I gave her. Just one or two small suggestions for improvement though. It was good that we could set the document to cover the financial year, but it would also be useful to be able narrow the document prior to export to cover only the wanted transactions (eg Charity) & also to be able to include, if possible, the photos of the receipts, etc. On the whole this is a great app and one I often recommend, keep up the good work :)

Easy to use. My no.1 go to app - the app gets regularly updates - nice colour theme - simple to use - lots of customisation - I started as a free user and purchased premium version in a week - also check out the 'parcel' app from this developer, for tracking parcels

Simple, but powerful. I've spent quite a bit of time looking for the ideal cashbook. There are bazillions of apps out there, but this one seems to hit the sweet spot. I'm really impressed by the simple interface, and the amount of power it conceals. Budgets, split transactions, recurring transactions, categories and tags, reports, etc. iCloud sync works instantly and flawlessly, which is a major plus for me. Well done Ivan! One or two additional features, like income budgeting, and account grouping with summary balances, would make this app truly awesome.

None better. I’ve been using this app (and others) for years. It is a wonderful app to do your account entries. It is very easy to setup and use and it also has a Mac App that syncs lightning fast to iCloud. I always loved this app and then I got an external keyboard with a numeric keypad and now I love it even more. The keyboard works as you would expect (tabbing etc) but of the other apps I use, this is the only one that does. If the other apps that I’ve spent time with went away or did some type of major change that I didn’t like; I wouldn’t be sad beause I have this app. It’s my goto app anyway. You might wonder why I use more than one checkbook app. The answer is that I found D&C later in life so I just keep using them. A bit of OCD perhaps. Finally, if you ever need assistance from the developer (unlikely), I am very confident saying that you will get it and pretty quickly. I had an issue that was probably created by me and the developer set me straight.

The budgeting app for the apple ecosystem. If you’re in the apple ecosystem and are wondering what it would look like if apple made a budgeting app; look no further. The focus on privacy, the iCloud backups, private iCloud sharing and the thoughtfulness of the design embody everything that Apple wishes developers would do with their apps. Every time I’ve wondered if this app has a feature I need, I’ve found it exactly where I’d expect it to be. That’s a big deal; not only do the features work well but the app is so intuitive. I wrote a Siri shortcut using this app’s integrations to privately pull transactions from my bank, my wife and I look at those on my MacBook’s big screen once and month and set up plans there. During the month, we can glance at the Home Screen widget to see our budgets live on our phones. Occasionally we’ll pick up the iPad and it’s all right there too. As a developer and a privacy focused spreadsheet guru, thank you for building such a great app and keeping it up to date with new features and bug fixes. The app has crashed a few times but those bugs are fixed so quickly and the app performs like a champ. Keep up the good work!

Great Update. Great update it is impressive but a floating decimal point would put the app over the top.

Useful app. I was looking at alternatives to Quicken. In the end I stuck with Quicken, but this app works fairly well.

Repeat options. Semi monthly repeat option would be great in lieu of having to set up 2 separate items for the 15th and 30th :0)

Solid App. Decent app overall, but I find myself frustrated with the shared accounts. Really wish there was a way to share categories between accounts for family budgeting and tracking. Seems there is no way to use one set of categories for all accounts. For the price I wish this worked better.

Amazing support and function!. Love how simple this is to use, and how fabulous the support is! I have been using this for 5 plus years, and it is continually improving. Any minor issues, have been promptly addressed and remedied. Definitely worth paying for, and you won’t have to worry about not being able to update your computer or phone software. Very Useful & Simple. The brief explanation at the beginning was all I needed, plus a few taps, to begin using this app immediately. It's perfect when you have a set budget each month. Just create an account and enter that number, then deduct each time you spend something. Kudos for creating such a clean and tasteful app!

TLDR: recommend!. That’s a very good app, but I’d like to see different currencies supported and also sometimes the app automatically duplicates expenses.

Literally Perfect.. I have zero complaints about this software. Worth every penny, doesn’t sell of financial data (looking at you mint)…simple easy to use, fills in gaps other banking apps don’t have widget support and Apple Watch support with iCloud sync is pure magic.

Great app. This app is very close to what I'm looking for an beats everything else for the price. Entering transactions is easy and unlike moneydashboard or similar web apps it allows you to track cash and create your own categories. The phone app also works really well. The only things I'd like to see improved functioning on are: 1) I can't seem to add subcategories--only main ones 2) I'd like to be able to see budgets in a view other than as a side task bar. It would be nice to have the ability to better visualize budgets with graphs etc. 3) it would be nice to have categories work in net. For example If I pay 200 pounds for a hostel but recieve 150 back from my friends, it would be nice if that showed as a 50 dollar expense vs a 200 expense and a 150 income--which then somewhat skew my budgets. Other than hose minor things this app is excellent. Definitely recommend

Been Using For Years Now!. The latest updates are great though. The app looks so much more professional now. This app has helped me a lot over the years. Just enough features that you don’t feel overwhelmed. The MacOS companion is great too but having this as one of my four home icons on my phone makes it easy to track every penny as you spend out in the wild.

Underrated Gem!. Split categories, separate bank accounts, sleek UI! something I haven’t been able find in other personal finance apps. Ivan has been pushing consistent updates and has always been responsive to emails 📧 I’ve been using Debit & Credit for 4 years now, and cannot recommend it enough! 💙

Super quick customer service. Great app, too!. I bought this app to replace the paper check registers on several bank accounts and to track spending on credit cards. The app is a cinch to use. Takes just a second to enter a transaction then it is automatically synched to my iPad, my wife’s iPhone, and my MacBook Pro. The developer is extremely quick respond to questions.

Perfect for me. Finally an expense/budgeting app I can get on board with, its clean and gets straight to the point with no unesessary bells and whistles. This even has a button for transferring from one account to another, that alone is a win for me seeing that im constantly switching money between my savings and checking. Great job

I have used and tried different transaction book apps numerous times and they all had some kind of ads, but this one doesn’t have any and its so much easier to navigate once you get the hang of how to use the app. I would definitely recommend this app to use for your banking control of your spending or what comes in.

Very impressive!. I am so impressed with this app!! It offers way more than I expected. It makes managing my money SO EASY. I am highly impressed with it’s capabilities. The reports, plans, budgets, transactions, even color scheme customization all make tracking spending simple and efficient.

Almost perfect. Very good and reliable app. I like the ability to plan monthly scheduled payments without entering them each month. Just wish they could be added to balance a couple of weeks ahead to manage cash flow better. Also when reconciling with bank statement, would like to be able to adjust balance automatically to account for discrepancy. Otherwise, I like it.

Really good. Simple to use app with clean design. Just needs two tweaks to be 5 star for me 1) color transaction red for debit and green for deposit (desktop app does this) 2) auto decimal placement. Update: I'm still looking for a few tweaks to get to be a five star app but I'd gladly add another half star (if I could) for the developer's responsiveness. Ivan answers any questions I have very quickly and that kind of great communication is to be commended.

Love it only 1 complaint. Love this app. I got this app after my last one failed to update to the iOS 10 and love it. I like how I can have it on my phone and my spouses as well. My only complaint is that I don't like how it continues to show my purchases after they have cleared and on my last app It would hide after I cleared it but I still had the option to bring it back if needed, but that's my opinion.

Crisp but limited in free. I’m currently using checkbook. And while the two are similar, I do prefer this one. I wish it had a less limited version to try for a longer period.( who only has two accounts?) given I wasn’t able to truly try it out much I ended up removing but gotta day from what I *initially* saw it’s very crisp, if I was able to try it out further I probably would’ve bought it. I love the design but I’ll be returning to checkbook in the meanwhile.

Love this app! Replaced another checkbook app. Even bought it for Mac!. Love this thing! I previously used Accounts 2 but my needs changed and I needed the ability for multiple users and devices. This solved it! Love the added widgets for both Mac and iPhone. Good job. Still a bit confused by balancing but will get it. DONT LIKE THAT IT ASKS FOR KEYCHAIN ACCESS ON MAC

Kudos to developers who do so and make our financial lives better! I can’t say enough about this app other than excellent! I recently stopped using Quicken and started using Debit/Credit. New Layout. I love the new layout for iOS 14. App is frequently updated and it always gets better. I was incredibly distraught when my old balancing/budgeting app went into desolation after lack of updates. It was the best thing that could have happened since it forced me to find this app. And this app far outperforms all others!

Great app. Having an issue after recent updates.. Love app but now it has not been displaying payee in each saved transaction after the last app updates, unless you go to the edit screen of the saved transaction you want to see the payee of. Restarted app. Reinstalled app. Signed in and out.

Love it. I echo one of the other reviews on here, the simplicity is great. It has all of the features that I needed: categories, budgets, sync capabilities, etc. For me, manually putting in transactions has helped us really learn our spending habits and see where the money goes. It’s been much more helpful than other automatic budgeting apps.

Still on the trial version. Love this, simple yet powerful and easy to see what’s going to happen in the future with scheduled bills/deposits. Works very well. Will be going to the full version soon. One thing that would be nice is a calendar view.

Great App. This is a great app works as a wonderful finance manager. I’ve tried others in the past but nothing beats this one to date. It is easy to use and I can keep track of all of my business credit cards and business checking and savings accounts in one place. Best checkbook app. I’ve tried several other checkbook apps and this is the best. It works well with Apple Watch for adding expenses on the go. It also works with Siri, though hopefully in the future apple will allow more integration there. Syncing across devices is seamless and it’s simple to use, the interface isn’t confusing or clunky.

TL;DR Great app for maintaining finances. My wife and I have been using C&D for years and we love it. It is a crucial piece of software to our financial health, and it has helped us maintain a higher level of financial freedom. I also would like to take a moment to praise the developer. They are responsive to support emails, and have made great efforts to continually maintain the app over the years.

Please add this feature!. The app is just great. I love native apps! Though, there is one feature I would like to see. In the budgets page, it would be great how much total money you have left after budgeting into categories (kinda like YNAB does it). If you add it, 100% I'd be a customer. Thanks!

Fast fix to import problem!. The developer is on this app and fixed a problem once it was reported (import was failing after a recent update). I really like this simple app!! I don’t have to create spreadsheets or get an expensive app. Keep up the great work!!!

Great App. Overall a great app. Have been using it a few years. My only complaint (which doesn’t affect me too much but may in the near future) is the $20 for the premium version. That feels like a bit much but I’m open to giving it a try. My review may change after.

Robust & Improving!. Once I got an iPhone X, I had to say goodbye to Moni, which I had been using as my virtual checkbook. But now I’m glad, because not only does this app replace Moni’s function, but it’s also very well-designed and offers even more features that I find extremely useful. The premium upgrade was a no-brainer! You can even adjust the color of the app and icon – I love their attention to detail!

Give it a chance. I used to use YNAB until they raised their price beyond reasonable. This forced me to really look at debit & credit as my main money manager. I am really happy with this program and subscribed and now me and my wife share the experience.

This app does a great job of helping me keep my finances in order, and doesn’t intrude on my privacy. Additionally, the one time that I contacted the developer, he responded very quickly. YAGNI at its finest. Best Implementation if YAGNI (Yiu ain’t gonna need it) I have seen. Sync is incredibly fast (rare) and features / modules are only what is needed. I used many programs over the years and once this one got where it needed, imho, to be minimally, I haven’t gone back. Also replaced my bill pay app

Best App Ever!. Been looking for an app for a free finance tracking which could sync on both mac and ios. Finally found "Debit & Credit". Great the privacy policy. Loved account sharing feature. Lovely UI and very fast syncing with the other devices. Best app I have found so far.

Excellent app to track day to day purchases. This app is very good and is more private with your data than most competitors. One request would be to move the menu(bottom left) and +(bottom right) towards the center of the screen a bit. Those two buttons are in the very corner and are sometimes a struggle to select. Minor gripe

Options. I love it, just wish it would show the correct balance while the post is in pending for reconciliation. Also allow you to change dates of post when fixing errors

Amazing App For Self Reconciliation. Super easy to use. Very fluid. Helps me keep track of day to day expenses and work expense reports are a breeze. I have used several apps to accomplish these tasks and this one is by far the best. It’s simplistic interface always me to quickly add in new charges right at the purchase point so that I don’t have to go home and enter them after the fact making this app less a chore.

I’m not one for subscription services either, but this is COMPLETELY worth the money. The new interface is amazing and intuitive, it feels stable, the syncing is great, and I use on daily. Awesome!. I searched for such app all day long. It’s VERY useful, easy to understand, all functions are necessary. Interface is user-friendly and not overloaded as many of such apps. And it’s for free! I, as iOS developer, started to think, that I should make such app by myself, but when I got to know about this app and forgot this idea. Everything cool, thank you, developers!

Love it!. I love this app. It does need a small update so you can re-order the list by dragging accounts up and down in the list. It would also be nice if when clicking on a transaction in a report, to see the account from which it was drawn. Other than that it is the best app for money mgt.

Would love advanced shortcut support. I would love it if this app had shortcuts that could be utilized system-wide. (E.g.: new transaction- Amount:, Account:, deposit/withdrawal?, date?) Being able to have one of my shortcuts (workflow) that parses a receipt I take a picture of using a web applet I wrote that could automatically adds a transaction to a certain account would be the dream.

So simple yet powerful. I love the shortcuts integration for this app. It makes entering multiple transactions such a breeze. The developer is frequently updating this app also it always runs smoothly. Certainly worth your time and money.

Mostly Great. I have used this app for a while and really like it. I like the shared accounts option and the ability to have pending transactions. However, I have had to re-subscribe twice in this past year because my Mac and iOS devices refused to sync with each other and attempts to resolve the issue through customer service were unsuccessful. As much as I love this app, purchasing it multiple times is very frustrating and I would not do it again if the issue happened again.

Early stages of use. Just under a week and still trying to figure out a few things, mostly reconciliations. Hoping they work better after the first month or two after my transfer of data. I love having the app on all my devices and ability to enter transactions as I go.

Best Checkbook App!!!. I’ve tried most of the checkbook apps but this is by far the best! I use to use ireconcile before then I found this app through reading reviews and trying out most of them. I use this as a running account balance which I update in real time. In this way I’m always up to date on all my bank accounts and credit cards. I’m amazed at how it instantly updates on my laptop, iPad, and smartphone! DS

Great app!. I have been a loyal Splash Money app user since my first palm pilot. It isn’t updated for iOS 11 or cloud sync. I didn't want to switch, but I asked for a recommendation from a friend who told me to try this app. I have not been disappointed. It’s very user friendly and I love the cloud sync. I honestly wish I had made the switch a long time ago.

Outstanding app, support. This app has been invaluable to me in keeping my finances in order. It is easy to customize the way I want and iCloud sync between my iPhone and MacBook is seamless. Also, customer support is prompt and effective. Email answered within 24 hours and my issue was quickly resolved. Highly recommend this app!

Easy to Use. This app is a fantastic financial manager for basic accounts. It is very easy to use and not confusing. It has enough features and options to be useful without being overwhelming.

Top Notch Expenses Mgr. Really good for what it does. Love the iCloud backup. Does everything I need to track expenses for bank and credit cards. Was using WalletApp but switched to this one. Will make using this one much easier to switch iPhones in the future due to iCloud storage.

Excellent and must have app!. 2020: still enjoying the app and thanks to Ivan for implementing nee features especially with the display: more effective and easier to read for folders and accounts. Keep it up! 2019: I am celebrating this month three years of use of the app on daily basis and using both the mobile and desktop app. Never got disappointed, app very stable and on continuous improvement with solid support from the back office. It is simple yet powerful. I do recommend it to everyone really. I personally did not like the other app either too complex or requiring access to your bank account which is absolutely not an option for me! Well done with this great app!

Easiest checkbook tracking app. I don’t need a full-function financial app. I need something quick, easy, and dependable into which I can enter transactions. This is that app. It does what it says it does, and it does it well. If you’re looking for a well-designed app to keep track of spending, this is the one to try.

Simple to use. I have been using the App for years and from the beginning I have requested the ability to search scheduled transactions. I am still waiting. Right now I have to scroll to find them and it is not easy to to on the phone as all the transactions do not display consistently. It you have a long payee and/or description it will take up more space. It makes glancing at it dizzying.

Just a feature I’d like to have.. Love the app, I’ve been using it for years. No complaints. Just with the new IOS you guys added Lock Screen widgets, when I saw that I got excited. One widget I’d really love is a new transaction widget. So you tap and it launches the app but directly into the new transaction menu. I hope you consider my suggestion thank you.

Could be better. The app requires users to manually enter hundreds of transactions. This defeats the purpose of good software designs meant to save people time. After entering a a few dozen transactions I had to stop myself. I unfortunately couldn’t give the other features a try. If there’s a way to automate this (Plaid) it needs to be easily accessible and integrated into the app asap. I’m willing to give the app another try once this is updated.

Simple and powerful. Very intuitive to use, solves very efficiently something that more sophisticated tools can’t , that is multi currency accurate view. It works very well the consolidated multi currency setup and reporting. Strongly recommend.
