I installed the app and I was told that I got 10 matches and I have to upgrade to see who liked me. I never got them to swipe organically. DILMIL WONT LET YOU GET MATCHES WITH FREE SUBSCRIPTION. I upgraded my account only to realize that 7 out of those 10 matches have disabled their accounts and the active ones are either living on the other coast of USA or in India. I have my friend who used dilmil long back and later uninstalled after finding it not working for her. HER ACCOUNT STILL SHOWS UP THOUGH SHE DEACTIVATED. And most of the matches or people you are swiping have deactivated. Crazy. And here is the topping on the cake, I get the same people to swipe every day as dilmil is completely out of new users. 😂 Basically, they are out of people. I recommend other dating apps than this as they constantly bombard with disabled and deactivated accounts.

Almost all desi women are social climbers. The app feels very similar to Tinder. I wouldn’t mind that, had the concept worked. The thing that trips up the app from becoming really effective is the social-climbing mentality of desi women. Desi women look to marry someone who earns more, and overwhelmingly prefer the East Coast and West Coast (California in particular). I’m speaking from my 5 years experience on Shaadi, BharatMatrimony and now DilMil. The whole tendency of Indian families to seek not just compatibility between bride and groom, but also families, has spilled over into the groom-searching habits of Dil Mil. Caste is often listed, which is very racist in the 21st century. Elite Picks is a feature very similar to Tinder which again trips up because of the social climbing tendencies of Desi Women (even those born in the US, not just Fresh Off the Boat people). These Elite Picks are the most upwardly aspirational of the social climbers, and therefore are a waste of time for most men (who are largely decent people in good paying jobs and shouldn’t have to compete for an “Elite Pick”). I refuse to play the game of competing for “Elite Picks”. One profile even said that the lady intended to marry to triple her bank balance. The app needs to add features which make the playing field more level and take away some of the power from these social-climber Desi women.

It wasn’t just covid in the air but our love too ❤️. I always thought these dating apps are a mimic until it changed my life upside down and I met my soul partner through this app. I believe there has to be a certain place that you are meant to meet the right one and in this modern age it’s all about the RIGHT SWIPE AT THE RIGHT TIME WITH A RIGHT PERSON. So continue to hunt for your love and I am going to recommend DilMil because of my personal experience of targeted men where you are able to see pictures, know more than basic details and a fun interactive chat. I met Manish (now my fiancé) here on DilMil in February and oh my god who knew that 2020 will be THE YEAR for us and it all came true when it was least expected. In this year specially for me Manish happened through Dil Mil then covid came and then Manish happened to be mine for life ❤️. We got engaged just in 6 months. Not even a decent app, this one.. Okay! Opinions may differ here, but for me this app is a genuine waste of energy (and also money). Remember those times when you could spend $35 a month and use whatever features it gave. Those days are of ancient past, just like the days when the world was normal. I’m not sure if it’s because of the pandemic they decided to make more money off of people or simple greed (I guess both point to the same thing). Because for some reason, now you don’t have the one month option. And you have to pay for at least three months. Such great confidence the developers have in the users getting a match! They’re basically saying- you need at least three months before you can find a match! Secondly, do these guys even hire decent coders!? Without a premium plan, you can have a limited number of swipes in a 24 hour period. That’s fair! Except it’s not- even after 40 hours, the number of swipes don’t reset. So you’re saying no one can use this app unless they cough up money for those 3 months. C’mmon dude! It’s a simple flag you need to reset here!! No wonder bumble is doing much better and the daily usage for dil mil is dropping. I expect better from an Asian app. We’re not even trying to deliver upto standards here! Boooooo

Lot of Issues and don’t think they will keep this comment alive. I paid for a premium account on dilmil once and was really happy with the services provided. They cost model was sick and expensive $39 a month. The people are not being verified properly. They have a single letter names like “M” “Ash” not to point out names but should be clear at least to the person who would like to know about them. They comes the settings the filter for premium are okish, but to select the age it is hard because they have a slider instead of numbers so we could be either specific or between 2 3 years gap. As of date the filter has 5 year gap at a min. The community filter is really really small. Boost costs $6 as of date which we don’t know what is doing no stats are available except a circle turning round on the left side of the screen. This is what I feel about DilMil after the update. Nothing has changed except now the cost changed to $70 for 3 months. I bought that as well to check how things go now. And now I cancelled that as well. And if want to close our account permanently there is clause or settings to permanently delete. We don’t even know if the users present are still active users.

So so. pros: they are adding more features. I really like that they added users astrology signs. The other day the asked for my license to verify my identity. I’m hoping they do that with others too. It would crack down on fake profiles and people lying about their age etc. because there are a lot of male profiles that state one age, but in the description they write 38 not 32. So I would just advise girls to be careful. Seems like since Dil Mil is for a younger group, older men are lying about their age to match with you ( something is kinda messed up with that, but just wanted to get that out there to help people in their early 20s, so that they don’t get exploited). I know it happens in all apps Cons: it costs 35/month to be a member. Which is kinda better bc it gives more options and allows you to pick through people. But it’s very expensive compared to other apps like coffee meets bagel ( try that one and filter to south Asian ☺️ to meet more ppl in your area ) and it does not allow a radius selection. The smallest radius you can put is 500 miles. That makes me think that the creators are more about caste than about safety. It’s unrealistic to apply caste system in the west because someone raised on the west coast will be very different that someone from east coast of the US. So it’s more important to be closer and get to know someone than it is to pick someone who is your exact same background after meeting only a few times due to long distance.

Filters don’t work !!. After having some issues with my account I created a new account even though two months of subscription money went down the drain. This was premium membership. I normally use a filter for my community and i was shocked when after couple of swipes it showed there are no more people of that community (due to my previous account I knew this was not true). After couple of days I tried the filter and now it showed me some of the profiles that I had seen before, so clearly they were not created new. This went on happening every two days. The algorithm is designed to hook you to this app for as long as possible by not showing you all the profiles but showing few at a time. They clearly are not interested in you finding a partner but making as much money as possible from you. Really disappointed by such shady business tactics!!

Crashes unbearable. Stop adding new functions and features when the entire app crashes after like 5-10 swipes for the basic left right function . Its 4x the price of other similar apps and yet is beyond buggy. entire screen goes black. And it is deceptive because it shows you people who you swiped left on months ago(that liked you) as new likes and just refreshes back to the same number. Highly misleading and wastes your time. The entire deck resets and acts like you never swiped on them at all and shows you the same profiles a dozen times. “Likes you” page is showing me people from a year ago still and I've already complained to support about this twice and their team is just collecting the checks without doing the work. Core product should be satisfactory. I’ve updated and no changes are made to the biggest bug

It genuinely works!. I have all the good things to say about the app as I met my fiancé here. Within a week of joining I got matched with some really genuine guys. The interface is pretty easy to use and they have a quick sign up process as well. Some basic filters are available to narrow down your results. If you have very specific requirements that you are looking for in a partner advanced filters should do the trick. The proximity radius is something people debate on. Location can be added as part of profile details. Personally I like the option of talking to people all over the US but others prefer talking to someone they can meet locally. Their algorithm works and I can vouch for that. The VIP elite prices could be a little cheaper to attract more people to sign up for that option. Overall had a good experience. Keep spreading the love!

Developers think end-users are stupid.. Imagine not allowing users whom you charge a minimum of $60 (for 3 months) to set the search radius to what they like, but instead only having 2 options- search within your country or within 500 miles of you. Imagine not adding a simple filter that allows users to search for people who have been active in the last 3 (or any number of) days so that they don’t have to waste time scrolling through all the profiles just to realize that 80% of them were last active more than 30 days ago. Imagine not understanding the most fundamental aspect of texting- replying to a message; and the nonexistent reply feature introducing awkwardness in a conversation between two strangers as they are unable to reply to each other’s messages and are forced to think of an alternative solution, but they’re not yet ready or sure if they want to exchange phone numbers or social media handles with someone they’ve only known for a few days. Well, you don’t have to imagine anymore because Dil Mil is packed with everything listed above, and a LOT more! Well, just these three flaws are enough to confidently say that this app is good, but only if you don’t care about your money. P.S. I’m not some ulgy looking dude who’s angry coz he’s not getting any matches. This app undoubtedly has too much scope to be better.

App collects personal information and sells it. I just read every single detail this app collects. When you are making decisions about buying something or securing your business this app will use your data for someone else’s benefit and your loss. They have information about your bank accounts to what ads you have seen to even what music you listen to, app is tracking your behavior and your location. Why do you need all this information? So you can sell it to someone? I own a business online and someone hacked in to it and I just have took a big hit in my financials due to this app and their what so call collecting personal info. So, those who are looking for real person to date just go out there and find on your own. Do not rely on some app because you will end up in a bad situation.

Bad experience with the app. App keeps crashing after 20-30 profiles are liked. When the app is restarted, the profiles are reset. Contacted customer support and they asked me to reinstall the app but that didn’t fix the issue. Coming to improving visibility using super likes, I super liked a profile and 20 minutes later, the profile and the super like disappeared. Similarly, I super liked another profile and closed the app. The super like has reset itself. With the paid subscription, the app provides a set of best matches everyday. I get the notification that a new set is available but when I look in the app, nothing. It says that the list isn’t ready. This whole experience is really frustrating and a rip off for charging $120 for 6 months. You don’t know if your likes are registered or if you’re just wasting your time. It’s like taking 1 step forward and 10 steps back. There’s no other dating service with such a large user base among South Asians and seems like the app developers are just using the position of monopoly to rip off the customers.

DO NOT PURCHASE. I wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase this. 1 month is all they are getting from me!! Here are the Issues I’ve faced: 1. $50 / month with limited times that you can send a note (5 per day). Boost only 1 time in that month. (Did you know that some sites and apps charge Men MORE than women)? Not saying that this app does bit at $50 per month, it’s no discount. 2. Please be aware of the difference between “delete account” and “delete profile”. This app keeps profiles active even if you are not. I can tell by seeing if someone viewed my note (1 check no 2 checks yes). I’ve sent over 40 notes and of that 3 were viewed. 3. Made for South Asian Indians but includes ALL Indians even non Indians. 4. Limited actual/active users makes it VERY difficult to find people that you set your filters for. 5. You cannot adjust your images and this app zooms in to make your images enormous. ***Purchase at your own risk. Do not be fooled by the profiles bc you’ll see that they are NOT active.*** If you are really curious, Use the 7 day free trial to figure this out. Advice, delete all pictures and profile content and send an email to the company to delete your entire profile AND your account or hold them accountable and liable for manipulating their service and for unauthorized use of your images.

My personal experience - not super concrete feedback. I downloaded this app 7-8 months ago and was only on it for a few months. While I did receive some likes and matches, I felt that there was an issue with a lack of verified profiles on the app. There were also instances where trying to contact a match would end up glitching and the whole app just black out. I know this isn’t a lot of concrete feedback, but I just thought I’d share my experience. I’m giving the app four stars because I was fortunate with how my profile worked for me. It’s not a 5 just because of the slight technical glitches here and there.

Why do we have to have a spyware software application to use dil mil. Facebook. If you are worried about fake accounts, facebook verification is the dumbest way to ensure users are real. Facebook has millions of fake users, they sell data, and they are negligent in their security protocols. Does dil mil sell user data to facebook and receive back door benefits?! I have a feeling that facebook analytics has access to our matches and messages on dil mil. If not than why not create a simple phone or email verification instead of making facebook the only way to create account. It is poor business practice, and you are unknowingly promoting their spyware. Is dil mil not worried about the 150 million users affected by the data breach which would include information such as this app. It’s sad people have to download spyware to meet people. Terrible actually...Make it accessible for people who don’t use facebook please. Bring back the phone and text verification.

Too many problems. The app has its positives but has too many problems, I got a lot matches the first few days after that barely anything, and if I did it would be with people I know I didn’t swipe right on so it’s a bit random, it’s like you are shown when you first make the app but then after maybe a week you don’t show up at all. Logged into my account one day and everything was deleted and lost all my matches and the people I was wanting to talk to. Emailed support twice and no response. Also wanting to match with people close to me so I chanced setting to the only local setting ( within 500miles) and there was nobody, when I would change back to all of USA it would show me people within a few 100 miles, so there is something definitely glitchy about the app.

I thought he was a catfish. Wow wow wow is all I have to say! This app is honestly the nest dating app thus far! Very genuine and the guys are all sweet, funny, and kind! First tome downloading the app and less than 2 days met an amazing guy who I honestly thought was a catfish! He messaged me first and I was hesitant to replay back! Started a conversation then he soon gave me his number shortly after! He sent more photos but I still was unsure until he said the magic work “FaceTime date later?”...... it’s still unbelievable so someone so fine could exist! I thought it was only in Bollywood movies. We’re planning to see each other “via reality” in the next two weeks so I will keep you all posted on how that goes! Good luck!! And happy DilMil!

Fueled by Money -Terrible App. UPDATE: Now you have to pay to set filters. Absolutely ridiculous. It’s obvious that DM’s whole purpose is to now make money. Clearly, they don’t care about how the users feel because no positive changes have been made based on user reviews. The generic response to reviews is also evidence. This app exists to make money and has no other purpose. Y’all I feel like the more upgrades the app makes the more it goes downhill. First off, it is now giving me Tinder vibes with the whole swipe left/right business. Then swipe up/down to see this or that. OH and not allowing pictures cause the resolution is low. Are you serious?! You’re asking people to use more filtered/edited pictures. Also. I ‘x’ somebody, why do they keep showing up. But in turn, when I like someone my number of likes stay the same... Did it not go through... They never reappear, like the ones I ‘x’-ed... What’s the story there? And upgrade to VIP to see the reveal the people that liked you? The rocket ship for some kind of boost? Why must we complicate this. The free version is no bueno so why upgrade? Please just take it back to the simple version -bring back the glimpse tab! The only reason I’m still here is because there customer service is super responsive.

Not sure why so many people use this. Some of the rules for the pics you upload go overboard .. also the upload process is a pain .. not sure if it’s a bug or not but I tried replacing a pic for something better and it just refused to do it and kept the old pic .. it wouldn’t even let me rearrange the order of the pics .. also I don’t like how it enlarges the pic automatically, the user has very little control over what they can showcase on their own profile Also the distance options are ludicrous.. the chances of you actually matching with someone you can meet in person is pretty slim , you’d have to pay a solid dime on just a plane ticket to go on the first date

Does DIl Mil even read these reviews?. Does DIl Mil even read these reviews? Either they do and just don’t care or they don’t and do not care enough what their users thinks. They are obviously pushing out updates for the app, but I doesn’t seem the be answering any of the questions or issues users have with this app. It’s very unfortunate that the person doing the decision making for this app is attempting to look for the most financial gain in the wrong areas. This could have had have possibility to be a scalable app, but the way the business model is set up/ux, it’s destined to fail. Why not generate income based on add revenue inseam of trying to nickel and dime your users every possible way you can? There are some very shady business practices going on here that leads the user to perceive that this app has more user activity than it actually is, and what is the justification for giving free users only 10 swipes a day?? That’s the stupidest business model I’ve seen on a dating app. Whoever came up with that should be fired.

Really surprised! Worked out great for me. I am in LOVE with this app. Ive never tried a dating app before but this one has just changed my perspective on them. I lived in Texas for most of my life and have had traditional parents who have always wanted me to marry someone who had similar cultural backgrounds. The pressure of finding someone with specific needs in mind is incredibly difficult and I think a lot of brown people could agree with that. But this app literally helps you do exactly that. The filters on the app allow you to be upfront about what you are looking for and I think that is important with finding looking for a significant other. So being someone who has lived in an area with a small population of brown people this app was a gold mine for me. I noticed that some people are kind of far away which bothered me at first until I actually matched with someone who I decided to meet up in person with. After talking back and forth her for 2 months we decided to meet up and when we did it felt like we knew each other our whole lives. That person is now my fiancé and we are going to be getting married next year. I can’t stress enough how much this app changed my life. This app is a brilliant idea and salute to who ever thought of making it.

Don’t waste your money.. Great model, terrible execution. I changed my profile image once and the app had me under review for over a week, which means that’s a week worth of my subscription gone down the drain. The free version is essentially useless so paying is what makes sense. Only to find out that it’s useless even once you pay nearly $100 for a 3 month subscription. if you don’t pay for more features, you get paired with people who seem to be completely incompatible with you and even from other countries. Their excuse is that their algorithm pairs you with who it thinks suits you best. Which seems to be a flaw in their app because it does a terrible job at it. The only way for you to really be matched and get likes is to pay for additional boosting and higher level packages. Even after paying $100 you get very little interaction for how much they promise. Their support team offers no help and had very basic and useless answers. Lastly, you receive tons of notifications and when you open the app, there’s zero activity. This app seems to have a business model that focuses only on those who spend the most. If you’re not willing to pay hundreds of dollars on additional features, you’re likely to have a terrible experience as you are not on their priority of clients. Try Aisle or other better rated apps instead. Let’s see what useless basic response Dil Mil comes up with in 3... 2...

Saddening at best, disgraceful at worse. Pros: the app is nicely set up, user friendly. I am in the US and so you get more choices compared to European countries for instance Cons: where to start.. 1-marketing issues: after using their 1 week free subscription, I received another similar mail 2 months later, only mentioning that it will still be free. Nowhere else was mentioned that it’s a 1x feature. So ended up paying for something the mail suggested as free. Pretty disgraceful will say 2-misleading: I apologize for being harsh in advance... so before paying you are being suggested matches who will scale at least 8 from a scale from 1 to 10 (physically only). Once you pay you are now suggested a completely different pool, more in line with what you can call (in my case) « girls next door ». Not to say it’s worse, but cunning and misleading. I checked with some of my friends if they have the same feeling and all whom I asked experienced the same issue with Dilmil. 3- something which is common in many apps: fake profiles .. a profile of a girl was there thrice (some same photos) with completely different ages, job description etc. Not shocking as much but the admins are not doing their job filtering and checking if multiple profiles are used. Outcome: I will advise not to invest a dime on this app. You have better options (for instance CMB) which are at least not misleading (check my 2nd point) at the cost of being slightly more expensive per match.

This app is a total scam. I did not realize I signed up for an elite member free trial that only lasted for 2 days. I was charged $175 for an entire year once my “free trial” was over. I reached out to Apple for a refund and they said that it didn’t meet the requirements for a refund. There are many issues with what happened. First, I have never heard of a free trial only lasting for two days. How does that give you enough time to understand if you like the app/membership? Second, the added benefits of being an elite member are non-existent. I honestly no idea what I am paying for. Third, there are no options to downgrade your subscription from 1 year to anything else. And finally, it seems like Dil Mil has to rely on predatory practices to scam people into paying for a membership. This is unbelievable. You should offer a great product and UX so that people want to pay for your product. I would highly recommend you stay away from this app if you don’t want to get scammed for money.

Customer support doesn’t fix issue. I was a member this app couple of months ago and it was working well. Then i was delete my account and i did open just 2 weeks ago again. I don’t know what happen this app but there is glutches, bugs and app doesn’t work at all. When i sweep , it does kick me out from app and its says doing sync and doesn’t let me like anyone. I said my issue on app , customer service did respond after 5 days and said delete and download, i did and my issue still was going on and i told customer service again and they didn’t respond me for 6 days and said give us screen shot and record. I gave it to them. And i didn’t get respond. I was trying to reaching them from email, instagram and app. I paid 6 months premium and i had high expectation but this app lost quality of service, whoever manage this app , he doesn’t care customer service and support at all. They just do advertasing and charge money, no improvement or help there. I just wanna aware people before download this app

Waste of Time and Doesn’t Work. A friend recommended this app to me because she got a match. I was excited because I might actually find someone here. But it went downhill from there. There is genuine thought behind this app but if you decide to use it for free and not get VIP, it will not work for you. I’ve been using this app for free for the past month and have swiped right on countless people but haven’t heard back from anyone! I thought that I would have to wait but now I know that it just doesn’t like free users. It also frustrates me that I got matched with someone who’s profile I have never seen and swiped. And adding on to that, I had unmatched that user that I got randomly matched with but I keep getting matched with them the day after. This has happened more than 5 times. At first I thought it was a bug, but even after updating, it keeps happening. So in all honesty, this app is a complete waste of time if you don’t pay for it.

App creates fake users to convince people to buy premium membership. This app should be sued. I haven’t paid for membership yet but it looks like the development team made a lot of fake users and using those fake users to give likes to guys. Of course, those likes are hidden and they want you to buy the premium membership so you can view them. In the past month, I received maybe 30 super likes. Every day I get notifications that someone super liked me. Of course, when I eventually swipe on that profile, it’s a fake profile. A lot of those profiles don’t have locations and you can’t see how far they are. And not one of those profiles has messaged me first or replied to my messages. You’d think if someone super likes you, they’d at least respond. Of course these are fake profiles. I’m going to make a dating app for desi people that doesn’t rip people off.

Decent app!. I knew about this app before but now downloaded the app. I have been using it on and off for a while. This is one of the best desi dating app. It’s amazing to see amount of people to choose from and you can also narrow it down via filters. I enjoy the way it lets you match with people. Well made app - hats off to the whole team for creating dil mil. Love the name of app too! It’s nice! So far loving the app! Thank you for creating desi dating app! Thank you! Met the One. Used Dil Mil for a little bit at first and then deleted/reinstalled it a few times because I thought it wasn’t for me. Then I decided, why not? I used it for a while and just kept it as a confidence booster knowing that people match with me and like my pictures but then I stumbled across the most amazing profile I’ve seen and sent her a message. 2 months of messaging, snap chatting, and zoom dates later we went on our first date and since then I cannot imagine life without her. Don’t knock it until you try it! You don’t have to message every person if you don’t want to, believe me, I rarely messaged anyone but when I took that leap of faith - I found my forever girl.

Single? South Asian? Take a look!. This app is a great concept and the UI is very clean and easy to use. I had some issues with my age being incorrect because I signed up through facebook but the support team was able to help me solve this issue within a day which was super convenient!!! since there are hardly any south asians where I live, I’m grateful an app like this exists so that I can meet and connect with other south asians. One thing I wish would be improved was how long it takes for your picture to be approved. I had to wait at least 2 days before I was able to use the app properly. Besides that the app is great.

Not bad, could be better.. There is a good amount of members on this app but the limit this app gives when swiping is terrible. I only get to swipe left or right only 5 or 6 times a day, then I have to wait another day to start swiping again. If you want to have unlimited swiping and likes, you gotta pay a lot of money which is like $35. It’s terrible that I have to pay to swipe more. It should be free. Additionally, I think this app should have the option to choose long term, not sure yet or casual relationship option when swiping left or right on the dating app. Lots of people are swiping right on my profile for no reason when I simply stated that I want completely different from what they want, which is a waste of time… also DilMil should give the option to have a filter to just find guys who want long-term, not sure yet, or dating. It seems like I’m wasting my time accidentally swiping those who don’t even want a relationship yet. As stated, I don’t know why people who are not ready for a relationship is on this app in the first place.

Meh. I like the idea of this app and after using it for a few years, I think it’s improved quite a bit. That having been said, there are quite a few things that I wish they’d change. I wish you could narrow location more (currently the options are in the same country or within 500 miles…). Also, the photo approval is bogus. Men have profiles with fuzzy, highly pixelated, and/or sunglasses/hair in their faces in so many profiles but women are often told their photos are not ‘clear enough’ when they are high quality and clearly meet the guidelines. Is there even an approval process for male profiles?? Many men even lie about their age in the profile and state their real age in the descriptions. Seems like there is much more regulation of women’s profiles.

Unsafe for Women Users. Multiple times I have reported the same user, along with multiple other women, that have matched with this man that has been verbally and physically abusive, threatened blackmail with revenge porn if the women stop seeing him, and conned women out of tens of thousands of dollars. On several occasions I have reported this user to Dil Mil with little to no response. When I finally did get a response by contacting through their Twitter account, I was promised the user had been banned, only to find him to have another account shortly thereafter. After reporting the second account, I was assured the user was removed from the app. AGAIN, his profile is up on the app and I have received no response to my reporting him again - despite offering the contact information of everyone that has been affected by this person. Dil Mil is continuing to risk the wellbeing of its female users although it has already been notified multiple times of the same user that has been targeting women specifically on its app.

A failed attempt. It’s a good idea but needs lot of tweaks. The developers are focusing on the wrong things in my opinion. First of all, the resolution of the images and the image requirements are completely stupid. They are too focused on not letting you upload pictures with sunglasses but not able to recognize the 100’s of fake accounts of horny teenagers. I matched with 5 accounts and they all were from 16-18 years of age even though their profile said 22-26 I had like 30+ matches that were hidden. I never got a chance to swipe on them and this is just a trick to make you pay more money. IMO just bring in some ads and help the small communities to meet each other without paying. Even with my 30+ matches my female friends who started some new account told me that my profile only showed up to them after months of swiping. I feel like they my profile was ranked low because I swiped left a lot. Anyway I got out. Hope the developers make the necessary changes and optimize this app.

Take the leap of faith!. There is a lot of pressure from family in the South Asian community when you get certain age and haven't found that special someone. To take away that stress we have Dil Mil to the rescue! Dil Mil has created the perfect platform to meet South Asians near you. There are many filters options, to ensure you meet your Perfect Match. I was very skeptical when I first signed up for Dil Mil but little did I know this is where I would meet my now Fiancé and soon to be Husband. Like any relationship it does require work we did long distance for 3+ plus years till today we don't how we did but with the right person it doesn't matter even if it's long distance or not. Take the leap of faith and try Dil Mil you won't regret!

Frustrating experience. I had the most frustrating experience using this app, and they won’t refund me my money. I downloaded the app about five days ago, and created a profile, it immediately takes you to a screen where you choose and pay for your plan. I chose the one month plan and it charged my card, but then immediately kicked me out to the homepage. It does not give me the option to log back in using the information I just provided, and when I go back thru the prompts, it just tries to charge me again. When I reached out to customer service, they did not provide me any sort of resolution and now haven’t responded in days. I don’t mean to sound angry, but for someone who was genuinely excited to try a new dating app and meet someone, the fact that it charged me money and then booted me out left me incredibly disappointed, and then to receive silence from customer service made the whole experience even more frustrating 😩.

It went downhill.... I never write reviews, but this app needed serious feedback. 1) So MANY glitches....you keep seeing the same profiles over and over and over again. You see your Notes one day and then you don’t see them for the next couple months. 2) For many people the most important filter is community...but now we have to pay for it...seriously...basically all we can control is age, height, and religion, and religion is essentially useless without community. 3) The distance algorithm is terrible...so many people are so annoyed when they find out your aren’t even close to them...fix it!! What I realized after using this is they want/need money...and no offense many people aren’t going to pay those prices for VIP/elite membership. You guys should have left it how it was a year ago (all free filters)...it worked fine. But now you completely ruined it!!!

Had to write a review. I know I gave it a 1 star but it’s not all doom and gloom. I do like certain features like the “mil and chill” game and all the different stats that come along with the users profile(ethnicity, love language, popularity, last active) is helpful but the app itself is terrible. Slow, clunky, often times will crash and undo all your likes (I have and iPhone 13) Ontop of that the big issue I think everyone has noticed is the locations. For starters your only 3 options are within 500 miles, in your country or anywhere in the world. Now let’s say you choose “anywhere in the world”, the people it shows you should also have that options selected but instead it’ll show you people who have their filter to “only in my country” so then it’ll only show them your profile if they change their filter. Long story short, just wasting likes. I know they’re a smaller company but the user interface is just filled with glitches and I often times find myself frustrated with the app and just log off

They are trying to scam their users. A lot of people have been receiving numerous super likes from inactive accounts. The app said I got 6 super likes within a span of 2 hours, and one of those girls graduated in 2018 and the app said she was 21 years old. I looked her up and dm’d her on instagram and she says she’s currently 24 years old, has a boyfriend, and hasn’t used the app in over 2 years. They are using old inactive accounts as bots to try and trick people into thinking they’re getting lots of likes so that they would buy their premium subscriptions. This is extremely unethical!!! Also, they are planting fake reviews too. If you look at the names of some of the people who have them 5 star reviews, they’re names are French or American. This is an Indian dating all LMAOO, since when we’re there French people using it? This is so pathetic, I really liked this app up until I figured these couple things out.

Frustrated / proceed with caution. I’ve used Dil Mil off and on for a few years. There’s legitimate thought behind the way it works and it’s user experience, but it’s also really buggy. This is particularly frustrating because I personally do know friends and acquaintances who have met meaningful people on here. So it can work, and the optimist in me wants to believe in it. My recent experience has been that I get notifications via email that I am getting “Notes” from users, but when I go to the Matches/Notes tab in the app, I see nothing. In the space where I presumably should see these notes/messages, I see a promotional space for VIP and VIP Elite. THIS despite the fact that I am subscribed as VIP Elite already. So, that makes no sense and also doesn’t seem to work as intended. And, I can’t see my supposed Notes either. I did use the app’s help/support feature in hopes of resolving the issue, and received in timely fashion (3-4 days, as promised) the suggestion to delete the app, restart my device, reinstall the most recent version, and hopefully that will fix it. But it hasn’t. I’ve tried it a number of times, and the issue clearly isn’t that I have an old buggier version of the same app. Further inquiries to help/support have led to responsive messages back, but no further meaningful suggestions. I’m at a loss as to what to do. I’d love to have more faith in the product, but I feel like I’m locked out of a better and meaningful experience.

Pyaar = Dosti. I can’t thank Dil Mil enough for helping me find my soulmate and annoying buddy. I used this app in 2015 and so exceeds my expectations it was so much fun getting to know everyone and made some great friends. The interface back then was use friendly I'm sure it’s even better now!! I’d say dil mil is different in the sense and diverse cuz of its user base to meet so many guys with different backgrounds, culture, and states! The database was off but I couldn’t be more happier find my match across the country! I match with my soon to be 3xs so we knew it was a sign from GOD! I highly recommend this app to anyone looking or not looking for love cuz you just never know the meaningful connections you will make!

Very Glitchy App. This app has lots of problems and it’s most likely built by inexperienced developers. I should know because I’m a mobile app dev myself. There are way too many issues to list here in the comments but I’ll mention a few here. - Glitchy Software: This app has fundamental issues. Super frustrating to use. Have to constantly restart the app for things to sync. Pictures don’t load sometimes and have to restart the app. Also in dark mode the keyboard hides what you are tying to type and then you can’t send the message. - Ambiguous Location: There is no way to know the current city someone is located based on their profile. Just has countries listed which is way too board to be helpful. - BOTS!! I am also getting the vibe they use lots of bots to keep you interested in the app and spending money. People that you match with don’t usually respond and if they do then it’s very generic comments then they stop responding after Hello. - The app charges you more after you get a premium membership. The membership is just to use the app without any features. You have to pay for read receipts and to send messages. They offer something called boost which I’ve seen on other dating apps but I think it’s snake oil. No proof that it actually works.

From great, to ok, to pay for play.. When this app first came out it was a little buggy but it was still a great niche app to find a partner and a good communication platform for matches that were far away. Over the years I’ve seen this app fall into the money making trap and has basically become a pay for matches platform. I’m honestly looking at this app from a professional stand point and am a little disappointed and more over disgusted. As a UX/UI Designer I’m a pretty critical of apps in general but usually just mind my own projects. This app though, had me fuming enough to the point of actually analyzing it like I would an app I’m helping improve. So to whom ever that is in-charge of the User Experience I just want to say as a professional in the same industry my advice is you go to the finance sector. This app has become impersonal as well as a money grab. Have 8 matches that already liked you? We’re not gonna show them in your swipes till you pay our monthly fee. Pay the monthly fee and get those matches but then 3 weeks later we’ll stop showing the ones that have. Subscription ran out? Oh here’s the other ten you can’t access but already had in your likes you section. This app should be called PaiseDo MatchesLo not DilMil. Because yep app meh Dil hai he nahi.

Paid version is a scam. I bought the 6month paid membership of dil mil and the app couldnt see any profiles all pics went blank and i kept revisiting the app for months to see if the glitch had been fixed but it would only show 2-3 profiles after launching the app and then would go blank,i made a screen recording of this and sent it to support that i cant see any profiles and they said they have been having issues like this and can offer me a free month,i refused and said to check my profile i couldnt use the app for 6months due to their glitch and how is a month fair but they refused and gave me a month free and it still didn work and as soon as my paid plan got over all profiles became visible again and after few swipes i started getting pop up to upgrade to pro to see profiles,so 7months of membership and couldnt use the app. This company should be reported to better business bureau i have all the screen recordings of the app not working for 6months untill the paid plan got over. Its a scam,stay away.

TRASH TRASH TRASH. BOTTOM LINE ON TOP: PPL DO NOT USE THIS APP UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND BE DUPED INTO PAYING A LOT FOR TRASH. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS APP TO ANYONE. CAN’T EVEN GIVE IT A ZERO. I downloaded the app in hopes to find someone like many people. Needless to say after seeing that being a free member was useless, I went ahead to try the 7 day trial. Now about the app as a premium elite member for the one week trial. You get one boost of popularity (per month) which I see as useless. Didn’t do anything for me. The app glitches so many time and most of the profiles continued to be fake. Has one like per day. Got matched with people I didn’t even swipe right at. I wanted to be off of it as soon as possible and wanted to cancel before the trial ended. Now when it Came to cancel. People be warned that basically THIS IS A 6 DAY TRIAL because they literally charge you if you don’t cancel within 24 hour of when the membership ends. NOT ONLY THAT. They also charge you the highest plan of an annual subscription. Most free trials send off an email to you a day before warning that your free trial is ending but nothing like that happened here. I reached out to the support team for dil mil to explain that I didn’t want to use their subscription and wanted to be off the app entirely . They did not try to see my situation whatsoever and I tried to tell them I didn’t want to be charged the 200 and wanted to get off as soon as possible.

App issues but decent. So this app is way better than some of the other dating apps. I have to say that I’ve had a couple of decent matches but I am experiencing some app issues. I keep getting emails and use to get notifications saying so and so matched with me. I go to the app and that so and so isn’t even a match. I did their troubleshooting suggestions and still nothing. It is pretty frustrating because at no point do I want someone to think I wasn’t interested especially if I also swiped right. After several messages back and forth with contact support they have “escalated” my issue. It’s not fair that some people pay $50 and they have these issues.

Not thrilled. This app is solid in theory and clearly someone put the thought into the unique needs of dating in the South Asian community. I wanted to try since a close friend met his now fiancé on the app. This is where the trouble starts. Let me start by saying the picture upload process is a joke. Why the hell would pictures be in that resolution, size and shape. This make no sense and makes finding suitable pictures a nightmare, if at all possible. Then there is the geographic drill down. The options are 500 miles, my country (the US) or Any. There is a checked box to show “more” results in my home city. Once you start swiping you quickly realize, every single match is at least a couple 100 miles away. I live in NYC. I can’t imagine there is a shortage of Indians. Which only leads me to assume there is a deep shortage in user base. Totally useless. Finally, the entire app is fully designed to get you to pay for their multiple tiers of paid service. The cost is particular high when compared to the other apps out there and other reviews on here seem to imply that is a bit of a scam too. Ona free level the app never seems to show results. I’m not sure if it is the forced unflattering pictures I’ve had to upload, the fact that seemingly the only people using it are in Guam and on the moon if I have to pay to play. Either way, a pretty poor experience. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer for a quality South Asian dating app.

Unhappy paid member - VERY slow to fix bugs. For over a year, I’ve been trying to get the support team to fix a bug that causes some “Personality Traits” to show up on my profile in a way where they can’t be unselected. Even though my profile now says things like “extrovert” and “debater,” when I try to edit them, those terms don’t show up in the list of options, so I cannot unselect them. I’ve submitted screenshots and videos, tried the troubleshooting steps they’ve recommended, and all to be told they don’t have an answer and will try to get their developers to fix it. Lately, I don’t even get notifications when I have new matches or messages - the only notifications it manages to send are for an “elite matches” feature and their “concierge” feature, along with customer support messages. I’m pretty unhappy that I paid for this app. It does some things pretty well and others really poorly. As soon as Mirchi or another app becomes more popular, I’m switching unless Dil Mil hires better developers to fix bugs. Their customer support is really responsive, which is nice, but you can tell that even their customer support is frustrated at this point with all the problems that the developers are causing. Also - it would be great if you all added a “dietary preference” filter. This is a huge factor for so many South Asians.

Positive experience & Positive results. I had a great experience with using Dil Mil! I NEVER thought I would meet a significant other, my now fiancé, on a dating app since I met all my previous partners in person. I loved that the settings allow you and others to know exactly what you’re looking for, so as to not waste time . I honestly felt like my fiancé and I met because we were at the right place at the right time. We both relocated to different cities within the same state around the same time. So I was lucky enough to have only had the app for a week when I matched with my now fiancé. Thank you Dil Mil for bringing us together! We both had great experiences with using the app and can’t recommend it enough to others as well!

Finally found the one. I was shown many guys by my parents but none of them were “the one.” My sisters convinced me to make a profile on this app to find my Mr. Right and I reluctantly agreed. Little did I know I would find my forever best friend and the love of my life on this app. I am beyond grateful to have had my sisters force me into making a profile for this app because I found someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. He is my everything and I am so incredibly happy. And to think all of this happened during Covid! Terrible app... Whenever I try to login it says authentication failed.. after certain tries, it blocks you out.. it seems common trouble if you at other ratings.. why it’s not fixed?

Too many annoying sms. The app is good for matching but When I delete the account they keep sending sms every 2-3 days. I have even emailed their support team but I keep getting sms. It seems the account was pseudo deleted and info was kept to harass you until the dawn of the earth. Don’t give them the details they don’t need.

Stuck down under. This app is not useful if you’re from Australia. Instead not got a handful of matches before being forced to only view profiles from overseas. Secondly, you need to provide more In depth personal profiles. No adheres to your requirements for profile pictures. And the short blurb people write is often users trying to be funny/creative. And lastly, the monthly fee is unnecessarily high. With the addition of VIP elite, I feel there’s even more reason to turn away from this app. There’s no real incentive to pay for an app that can’t even provide you with matches from your own country.

No notifications for Matches & their Msgs. No notifications in banners/notification centres/lock screens on iphones, when there are new matches and when someone sends a message. You’re acting like heart breakers instead of connectors. Not stupid enough to open the app frequently to check if someone sent a message or not.

Dodgy app, not recommended at all. This app is quite dodgy. They are quick to take your money but don’t want to respond to your problems! They show different amount in the ad but deduct more. Not recommended at all.

Dil mil support is hopeless. Dil Mil support is hopeless at responding to emails and even when you are trying to contact dil mil via the app there is no response from them. What is the point of having a contact us page of the app and a email address for support when no one from dil mil is willing to reply to it??? Please don’t tell me to email dil mil support cause I have send more than 5 emails to dil mil support and zero response. This is not how you treat customers who are actually paying for a service. Really disappointed with this app.

Message Notifications Disappeared. App is okay but recently stopped getting notifications even though push notifications are allowed and app has all the permissions needed to notify. That isn't going to help and you are now back to manually checking for message response from your match.

Works for meeting new people. My romantic future is so much brighter, I struggled for quite some time and wasn't completely sure I'd try online dating again, but Dil Mil became my favorite and I'll surely keep using it.

App won’t work. The app doesn’t let you log in. It freezes after entering OTP. Tried to resolve the issue by deleting and downloading again but it didn’t work. Probably tried around 7 times and it keeps saying error

Tried signing up to this app to find Indian girls to date, you type in your mobile number to verify yourself and then app freezes wait 5 minutes nothing happens then you close app and go back into it and it tells you to uninstall and then reinstall and it will fix the issue I have done this 4 times and nothing happens… pretty sad

Fake profiles. I doubt if there are any original profiles. You never match with person but you can always see them liking you, sometime there are 10 people but still no match and the numbers fluctuate I think it is to keep you in loop.

App Needs Some Upgrade. I tried to upload my clear face photo several time but keep getting message about unclear face. Which photos I used on other apps as my profile & prime photos same photos were rejected on this app.

Dodgy app. This app is very very dodgy. When you’re not subscribed to any of ther subscription model, you will keep receiving these random 30-40 likes so as to entice you to pay and subscribe and therefore be able to check who those likes are from and connect with them. As soon as you subscribe, suddenly you will notice the likes will stop completely. This clearly shows that the people managing these app deliberately send you fake likes to entice you to pay and subscribe!

False advertising. I would NOT recommend this app to anyone and for those who do use it beware of their advertised free 3-day trial. They will advertise a free trial on your profile page (even though you are not eligible for it). I personally feel this is very misleading which greatly shows the poor ethos of this brand. Overall I highly consider anyone reading this to stay away from this app and try other services.

The app gets you to sign and and build your profile, and give you a random number of how many potential matches in your area…. The best thing is that you don’t even get to use the app because you have to subscribe to its ridiculous price. Don’t even waste your time.

Full of bugs. Please fix the app, it is the only medium to meet people and if the medium isn’t working properly, what is even the point of the app then! Horrible Experience. This is horrible. Yet another bug in your app. I have updated it, deleted and reinstalled and been waiting for 30mins for the stupid match screen to load..... I have got a new matches and can’t view it... neither can I view my previous matches. It just keeps loading.... I’m 100% sure this is not my internet connection as you guys would always blame it. My internet connection is one of the best. Currently on 4G. Every other app and internet in general is running extremely smooth. Caste - discriminatory. I downloaded this app while I was in the U.K. and was shocked to see it offers caste under the "community" category alongside Punjabi, Gujarati, Sindhi etc. What's worse is it only offers “top” castes Jatt & Brahmin. I’d encourage KJ Dhaliwal (the founder) an educated entrepreneur to think about what type of society he wants to endorse. I expect a better response than "we're testing out a few things right now to see what users like best". There shouldn’t be be a place for dating apps that encourage this sort of prejudice and have in-built discrimination.

I got charged for a free trial. You need to pay to see who has liked you on this app. They had advertised a 3 day free trial which I subscribed to see if the app was worth it and I was charged instantly. I contacted support immediately and multiple times after a delayed response time I was advised no refund will be provided due to payment through apple although they had falsely advertised a free trial.

Applying filter. There is something wrong with this app, every time I open it, it says expand your filter there is no potential matches near by but when I change my filter setting couple of times and bring it back to where it was at the begging when I open this app, it starts showing me profile to swipe. Getting tired and sick of changing filter settings again and again (specially distance). And why do we have soo less dil to swipe?? Such less numbers of dil makes it hard to get a match which eventually force user to loose its interest. The number of swipes should be more like tinder.

Don’t get premium.!!. One you click the premium option and not make a smart choice not to proceed with buying premium. You can’t swipe any more profiles unless you pay for the premium version. Worst dating app. Worst app ever! Total scam. Charging people 90AUD with such a small user base. They allow you to set 500mile and nothing smaller than that. Hence I get profiles of people in cities which are so far away. I just wanna see people in my immediate surrounding. Worst yet it seems the profiles are mostly fake. Really lame.

Love found!. Great news! After years of using dating apps and many many dates, I have finally found the one via Di Mil. The app itself is a bit glitchy so that needs working on. It would repeat profiles that I had already said no to and when I turned off my discoverability it would still pop open with profiles and after a few seconds to disappear.

Not usable in free mode. You can't text someone without paying and buying a subscription. Subscribing to this software is much more expensive than many similar software. Its producers seem to be in a hurry to make money.

New phone. I bought a new iPhone with a new number and tried to download this app. The new number I now have is already banned on this app thanks to the previous owner of this phone number. I have tried to tell the contact support my issue but they refuse to do anything about it. Horrible app and service.

Useless bullies. I just downloaded this app. Setup my profile. Came back to check a few hours later and found out that my profile was banned!!! Submitted an appeal and they asked for a govt ID. Its a absolutely ridiculous way of verifying profiles. No other dating app does it. Usually there is an option to submit some ID for profile verification but DilMil just banned it!!! I didnt even get a chance to explore the app. Such a ridiculous way of functioning.

Messed up and sketchy. I’m not sure why my pictures keep disappearing there is nothing inappropriate about it…I’ve seen women with cleavage on their pictures being approved on this app through live chat and I’m not sure why my pictures are getting taken down…not to mention taking forever to get verified…it’s very weird and disappointing

DIL MIL IS CHARGING ME AFTER DEACTIVATION. I used this app several times before and I found it very much okay. But recently I again got signed up for it and used it for a day as a free trial. I deactivated it on the very first day of free trial. Today when I see a charge of $149.84 on my credit card. I was very much shocked and disappointed. I just want my money back.

Too many flaws could be improved. This app is good but there’s a few flaws which are really annoying. First would be not being able to choose distance of matches nearby. The only options are within 500 Miles, Canada or international. That’s really stupid, there should be an option to pick 30km, 40, 50 and so on. Second flaw would be be the amount of likes daily that you get. I am uncertain of the exact number but the daily likes that are allowed before you have to but premium are very very low. My guess would be close to 10. The overall interface of this app is kind of laggy and not very smooth, your developers should take hints from Tinder and Bumble. They have the smoothest interface. Next one would be the price monthly for premium membership. Make it reasonable and you will see more people going forward it.

No matches. At all. I downloaded this app and Tinder at the same time. I have 20 matches on Tinder so far (3 weeks) none here. And they expect me to pay $65 for premium, much more than Tinder Gold. I really wish there was a competing app for Indian dating cause this is a joke

So many issues. App crashes constantly. You get a small number of likes a day. It shows you people from really far away and there’s no way to control that. Way too expensive if you choose to make a purchase. Bumble is a better option.

I have spent $120 and these guys asking me pay for each like and message. It’s just trap at first they show you these people like you pay money to see once you paid nothing there. All are trap . Now they will reply me (dil mil) to email us to solve the secret problem I already emailed nobody replied.

Seems like fake app. My account received more than 65 super likes. So I thought to purchase VIP elite package so by spend $360 for 1 years. So now I can see who liked or swipe right on my profile. So I swiped right back to have Match and we can chat. So I send normal messages to all my 65 matches and now see the fun none of then able to see my messages or not even single reply. If someone who already liked your profile and when u giving them back right swipe still no communication between any of profile. It looks like they just give you hope and make you paid and once you paid you won’t get refund or anything. I already contacted support more than 5 times but what answer I get that uninstall and reinstall app. Haha I did that too but I am still on same page. It’s totally waste of money and time.

Not Good. App matches you with people hundreds of km away, when your filter is local only. So useless. Paying for vip does not help

Not a great experience. The app crashes constantly. After every few swipes, it crashes. Also, most of the profiles are fake. Many of them won't even respond after matching. The free group chat section is great but you will find only the young age group there. If they can provide multiple group chats by age group that would be great.

The buggiest dating app. First of all the number of fake reviews here is staggering. You can easily tell that most of the 5-star reviews are fake. Now to the actual problems. First problem is that the app just can’t recognize my location or country. I’ve tried reinstalling the app and making sure that location services are enabled but it just won’t recognize my location(US). Because of this the 500 miles and national options don’t show any matches to me and I have to expand to Any which shows me people around the world. This is just unacceptable. The second biggest problem is that it keeps on matching me with people I’ve literally never even seen on the app. I get matches from girls from random countries that I haven’t swiped on. I also think that most of the people you see on the app are inactive or their profiles have been deleted but dil mil doesn’t remove them from its system just so it seems like a lot of people use this app. There was a lot of promise but the app just fails to deliver in every way. Their prices are also ridiculous for what they have to offer. No one in their right mind should be paying for such an awful service.

Horrible. As a testosterone challenged person who identifies as male, I was asked to supply a government issued photo I’d because I don’t look my age. This was a month after opening the the account. Is it necessary to be a bearded tattooed Neanderthal at 35. The same validation could have been done via a live video call. Even apps like Bumble take a video screenshot to validate a person. Please be extra careful , tech supply seems to be based out of India and your personal information could be sold on the dark web

Worst dating app ever!. This is based on my opinion and my friends’. There is something very wrong with the fundamental functionality of this app. I have matches and dates from every other app I use. But I have found 0 matches through this app in my city. All matches are from California and I live in Arizona. Every dating app’s core business is to make money by tempting the users but dilmil is doing it in a wrong way. Even premium is no good. Also another worst thing is the character limitation. 140 characters to choose a person living in an unknown state in US AND expect to get mutual match?? Are you kidding me? Extreme character limitation makes you choose based on looks. So dilmil is nothing but modern time arranged marriage! It is very sad that this app has such a huge user base!

Need to get your moderation together. It’s complete chaos in the group chat you guys have on here and there’s almost CONSTANTLY men sexually harassing women and even violent threats and they just stay on there or every once in a while get a temporary ban and come back. Women barely use it because it’s such a problem. You guys need to crack down and IP ADDRESS PERMANENT BAN SEXUAL PREDATORS / PEOPLE WHO MAKE VIOLENT THREATS. I just got banned after a group of people publicly flooded in the group chat to ban me because I admitted reported I reported this one guy for harassing me and other women with gross and violent comments publicly in the chat. So they spam reported me and I got banned immediately. Meanwhile this guy is still there…. What a way to mod

Full of glitches. This app needs solid fixing to do. It is full of glitches. Not sure where do I begin. Pictures won't load, it takes long time to load. Sometimes there are matches which I'd not have swiped right (the whole idea of swiping is obsolete). Then there are times when old message would show up after weeks. I even reached out to support team about chats from some profiles disappear and re-appear after a while. I have not received any help with that so far. Some profiles keep repeating even after it has been swiped left. I would give a second thought to even use free version, the paid version is out of question for such service.

App issues but decent. So this app is way better than some of the other dating apps. I have to say that I’ve had a couple of decent matches but I am experiencing some app issues. I keep getting emails and use to get notifications saying so and so matched with me. I go to the app and that so and so isn’t even a match. I did their troubleshooting suggestions and still nothing. It is pretty frustrating because at no point do I want someone to think I wasn’t interested especially if I also swiped right. After several messages back and forth with contact support they have “escalated” my issue. It’s not fair that some people pay $50 and they have these issues.

Rarely write a review. If the app didn’t keep crashing and having bugs, I would have rated it higher. I usually don’t write reviews. I’m on the vip elite version and the elite picks never load every 24 hours, there are days at a time nothing populates. Then the biggest glitch is that as you swipe through profile the app literally just freezes (or the screen goes black) and then closes on you. When you reopen, you’re back to the first few profile you started out with. This tends to happen at least once a day.

Its alright. The app addresses a good issue however there are too many bugs and glitches for it to work properly. I have the premium and the likes I receive disappear. I feel like the likes I give out are never seen because they have yet to result in a match (Ive had this app for years and Im decent looking so at least one of the thousands of likes I have sent should result in a match but they never do). Sometimes Ill be swiping and a person that I have already matched with shows up. Many times the pictures on the profile do not load weather I'm using Wifi or LTE. All in all the premium is not worth the price. It needs a good amount of work from the developers.

Worst dating app I’ve ever used. I was very excited to join this app. Dating within the South Asian diaspora is challenging and this app sounded like a great way to connect with people. I’ve been on this app off and on for almost a year now, and it is essentially useless. Every action seems meant to push you to subscribe to a premium level out of frustration to do “something meaningful” on the app. With so many dating apps out there, this is the only one that doesn’t let you filter by any preferences. All matches are hundreds of miles away even if you live in an area with a larger Indian population. This app isn’t worth your time. Hopefully someone else tries to develop an actual dating app for the south Asian community rather then this money grab.

Bad algorithm - forcing users to buy premium. I have used this app for sometime, both free versions and premium versions. This is my second review and the app is not improved at all. Looks like the algorithm is only showing someone liked when you are not a premium member. But after you buy the premium membership and it doesn’t not let you look for your desired profiles as you wanted. And there are lot of glitches/bugs in the app, disliked or never seen profiles are coming as matches 🤦🏻‍♂️. There are other apps like Bumble are way better than this. It has way more userbase than this app and I never saw Bumble crashed or glitches. This company needs to reconsider so many things in so many areas which will lead to good updates

Terrible. App has an incredible amount of glitches for something that has been around for years. Seems like they would be able to figure out the basics but they’re too busy trying to figure out every way to you charge you. I somehow was charged for an annual membership (tried canceling 2 days later but apparently was too late and couldn’t even get a pro-rated refund). So after I already spent $250 I tried to make the best of it. But app continuously glitches, can’t even upload proper photos, the guidelines are asinine. I have matches who never receive my messages (matched via other apps and was confirmed), I see the same people over and over, and the location appears to not even matter. Overall, terrible app. 0/5.

Garbage/ Waste of Time. Stay away. This is the most BS app. App developers are only interested in making big bucks off of you. Their subscription comes at 3x/4x other apps. If you match with somebody, they’ll intentionally keep the match hidden and won’t throw it in your daily recommendations list because they want you to pay $50/month in order to get access to profiles that you may or may not even be interested in. Other apps are doing this but they’re not even half as aggressive as this one. You only get 10 odd profiles to swipe left or right. It’s not 10 LIKES, but 10 profiles. So if all 10 don’t appeal to you, tough luck! Other apps at least let’s you swipe enough, so chances are you’ll eventually match. The shortest range / distance that you can select is 500 Miles! I live in NYC and more than half my daily matches are not even from the US! 60-70% are Canadian. Which means that if god forbid I ever match with them, then I have to go cross border to another country to get this person out with me on a first date! Great plan, dil mil! Why don’t you just connect me with somebody from Japan, it’s only a 17 hour flight! No thanks Dil Mil - contrary to the name of the app, the developers genuinely have no heart.

Huge disappointment. I’m a humble person when it comes to my looks. I don’t think I’m better than anyone else but I know I’m easy on the eyes and guys off the street are always approaching me. I’m looking for a serious relationship with a man of this ethnical heritage because I’m attracted to the culture , and the appeal of their nature. Probably the worst dating app out there. Pros: The worst photo reviewing mechanism across the internet, not just dating apps. If you are someone like me who wears prescription lenses, you ll be pulling your hair out trying to get any decent photo to fit their guidelines. The app reads “First photo should fit our long list of rules”, buy you will be trolled by the Authenticator bot and the mods for a some blurred face on a 5th pic. This app doesnt know the meaning of the word “first”. Absolute waste of time. Would rate this app a 0 if I could!

Fake likes that disappear after you pay.. In the very beginning the app lures you in to their trap to make expensive payments. They will show you that you have received likes from people and in order to access them it prompts you to pay. Once you subscribe it, it will never show you those fake likes in your profile. There are other apps which are way cheaper and better user base. I’m in the west coast and still the app shows people from other side of the country. I have been using this app since long and really found no use of it other than once in a while it shows you the fake likes to remind you that it is on your phone. Very disappointed.

New Archive system is pretty bad, very expensive app. Used to be a good app but all of a sudden they add a new feature that is supposed to make people actually interact with each other. Or else it archives the match. However once archived it costs money to unarchive them? That is such a bad system. Hinge has a similar thing but they don’t ask money for it. Please fix this Dil Mil, otherwise you have a great app. Change this option to be that if you want to rematch with someone, you HAVE to send a message. Otherwise you’re just putting everything behind a paywall and no one will want to use the app. So people are busy with jobs and it takes longer than 4 days to see who they matched with.

Add a distance filter!. This is probably one of the most requested feature from most of DILMILs customers! I am not against people who think they can make long distance relationships work….but it’s just next to impossible for most people these days. So meeting someone on the app and actually going out on a date with them becomes next to impossible when all my matches are on the other coast! And the app gets so buggy at times…crashing all of a sudden, or all my message requests disappearing into thin air, and they magically come back..and then they are gone again You make it next to impossible to like this app or spend time on it…please please please..Atleast address the basic issues the customers are complaining about.. The customer support is next to useless, when we report a bug, though they respond promptly, none of the suggestions they have provided me with didn’t help me resolve the issue once.. We we are paying for a premium subscription, we expect good service in return!

Don’t even bother. This app is straight garbage. Almost anything useful is locked behind a subscription. It crashes almost every time I open it. I can’t even change out photos seamlessly without the app slowing down considerably. But that’s not even the worst of it - the app is horribly designed as far as distance parameters. Even though my preference has been set to show profiles near to me, I have to swipe through what feels like hundreds of profiles that are 250+ miles away from me to find anything under 100 miles away. I understand that there may not be too many users near me, but at least show profiles within 100 miles to start.

Buggy & untrustworthy. THE SHORT VERSION: This app is buggy and cannot be trusted. I gave it numerous chances but not anymore. What’s the point of using an app when the basics - Likes and Notes in the case of Dil Mil - do not work? THE LONG VERSION: I’ve been a VIP Elite member on this app for months now - that’s $50 per month. I never got any Likes or Notes. I suspected the app to not be working correctly, since on another dating app and in the real world my luck had been far better. My suspicion was confirmed when, after months of no responses, I randomly received a Note from an individual (late November). I discovered that the Note was originally sent 3 months earlier (early September). The date stamp on the Note and the person who wrote it both confirmed it was written months back, but Dil Mil never showed me this Note. Similarly, I received 10 Likes or so in a single day after months of no responses. I don’t trust this app anymore, which is sad because I honestly rooted for it. Would we use a cell phone if it didn’t do its most basic job - make phone calls? No we wouldn’t. So why use Dil Mil when it wont send your Likes or Notes!

Your User Experience is terrible. Anywhere you touch on the screen you’re bombarding your users with your paid features...every single profile. it’s beyond obnoxious. I just want to read a person’s profile for gods sake-Not be overwhelmed with all your premium features in circus colors. All the whimsicality in the details is like you’re playing a cheap gaming app. It’s a dating app. understand what your users want and how they want information conveyed. Create a decent simple, clean design, and ppl will see value in your premium option. From Someone who’s tried your paid version & saw it as a wasted investment b/c the experience of the app was incredibly annoying especially after your concierge sales rep was like a used car salesman. Then I tried the free version to eventually delete it altogether.

Amazing Customer Support. I was initially having an issue with signing up for the Dil Mil App after hearing so much good stuff about it but for some reason my number wasn’t being verified. I reached out to the Support Team and they kept in constant contact with me through email to help me be able to sign up for Dil Mil. I give them my complete respect for helping me resolve this issue and made my experience with the Support Team amazing. They are truly and honestly extremely helpful with any questions I asked them. Due to their help and suggestions, I can now finally use Dil Mil.

Hamstrung by developers. There should really be a way to filter based on location within XX miles. Right now the app seems to filter 500 miles and below. I get why they do this, because in less populated areas there wouldn’t be many users within < 100 miles. But for people who live near populated metro areas, like NYC/NJ, this results in matching with people 500 miles away when there are plenty of potential matches within say 50 miles. So because of this purposeful lack of functionality users like myself will stick to the more mainstream dating apps and filter by ethnicity. This app would have more potential if the developers weren’t so short sighted

Messed up with the archive. This app was going really good and then they became too greedy. Archive feature is good but their greed messed it up. Usually archive just hides the profiles after say 2 weeks to a month but you'll be able to restore to active with a new message to the person. Works well with every other app but this one. Here you'll need to pay to restore. So much greed that they even need payment to view your past messages in the archive. And the archiving time? Just 4 days. Need to see that consultant who proposed this model. Pathetic way to monitize but sure shot way to lose the popularity to oblivion like POF did. Good luck with the deteriorating quality.

Another success story! :). I met my partner through this app. It’s all about finding the right person at the right time and it worked well for us. We both have been in different dating and matrimonial apps and none of those worked for the either of us. Dil mil gave us an opportunity to know a brief about each other just through our profile. To be honest, finding someone with the same spiritual and moral values is very difficult and we are happy we did it through this app.

frustrating !. I just made this app yesterday and my profile is still pending, because I updated my profile picture? I’m confused, no other dating app I’ve been on has glitched this much or been complicated. And when I went through all my likes, it tells me to reset my filters/go through my dislikes again - fine, I did that, but it still hasn’t refreshed since yesterday. And I even fell into the trap of upgrading to the premium account, I haven’t seen any difference/improvement. And the picture upload is a hot mess.. there’s rules about what kind of pic to upload (resolution, no sunglasses, no other ppl in the pic, etc) but I’ve already seen several profiles where the persons face is half cut off, super zoomed in, low quality pics. Get it together, dil mil!

Haven’t had a like or matches in weeks. I actually really liked this app when I first started using it. I received likes and matches right away which was nice. I then decided to do the premium free trial and ever since then I have received no likes. Since the free trial didn’t work I didn’t renew and cancelled and I haven’t received likes ever since. Also, the first time I verified my profile they denied my photo which is strange because I am who I say I am. Then when I tried to do the verification again, it hasn’t been approved for weeks so my profile still isn’t verified. I want to use the app but I cannot only because I have no one to talk to on there… I can’t receive matches and I can’t use the chat feature since my profile still isn’t verified. Ridiculous!

Glitches. Overall the app is pretty great, with plenty features the we don’t need but useful. The problem I’m having is that the messages & received matches, likes, requests & given requests (except given likes) are not showing after a few minutes I sent them or received them. I always get notifications of new matches, likes and requests but when I open the app to check them none of them appears and it’s blank. It would be helpful if you guys can solve this issue. Maybe some sort of bug or whatever. Thank you.

Found the best match!. Started using this app in 2017 - deleted & rejoined a couple times based on some relationships that came from it. Finally, in 2020 after rejoining, I found my S/O. Both of us were very close to deleting the app again until we matched & met. Now we’re engaged and I don’t know if we would have found each other if it wasn’t for this Dil Mil, as I was in the US & he was in Canada at the time. No other app gives you international access the way this one does and while it can be frustrating at times (as dating in general often is), it was worth the wait! Thanks Dil Mil!

Terrible app. This app is terrible. So many cons. Why can’t I JUST see people in my area? I don’t want to see people from Australia when I have “preferably near me”. There are WAY too many old/inactive accounts from YEARS AGO that they just keep on to make it look like there are more people on the app. And the most annoying of all, they send me notifications saying “New match!” with people I DIDN’T EVEN LIKE! I’m not even kidding, the second I made my new account, I got like 5 fake matches with people I didn’t even swipe on. The app is broken and WAY too expensive. If you made it less expensive, maybe people would actually WANT to purchase it, and maybe then you’d actually make some money to be able to fix this app. But until then, I would give this app 0 stars if I could.

Lots of technical issues and app doesn’t work properly. I tried out this app and customer service was pretty awful. First off, my account was awaiting moderation for the longest time after signing up and I was getting “matches” but not a single match would respond back. Then after I figured this app was not worth the subscription I cancelled before the one week free trial and was charged nonetheless and customer service kept trying to make me fun in circles and would not refund my money. Honestly, just sum up the courage the ask a cute girl out in person...I know it’s easier said than done but even if she says no you at least had a chance and get to learn from your mistake and only get better

App is good with minor bugs. Good things: can get a lot of suggestions according to the filters. Card patterns are really smooth. Images are reviewed and then uploaded. Chat app is good and has basic features. Bad things: When msg arrives if you are already in the app but not in that particular chat despite getting a notification it doesn’t get updated on that particular chat tile or unless you do manual refresh. Sometimes the app gets frozen and even after a couple of refreshes the message doesn’t get. I generally kill it and restart. Dark mode could be a really good thing in this app. Especially ppl chatting and swiping for long times. Something is broken in email verification because even after typing correct email followed by a token verification it gives error of ‘email wrongly setup..’ and logs me out of application directly and asks me to reinstall the app! These are all can be corrected. I am using iphone 10s ios 13.5.1

It works, give it time and open up!. Dilmil definitely works! I meat my fiancé on here 1.5 years ago and we’re getting married in July 2020. I was on and off the app for a few years. Downloading and deleting various times through and just when I was deleting for the millionth time. I matched with my fiancé and all that waiting and frustration vanished. Keep trying and open up. Don’t wait for someone to find you. Go out there and put yourself out there even if it makes you uncomfortable. Maybe from that uncomfortable situation will be a start of something amazing! Unfair amount of membership fee. Within a year they increased their membership fee from 35$ to 60$, come on guys don’t be such a money minded company, in the past this app use to be so good and did some justice to users, now this is utter waste of money. They do provide discounts but only for a 6 month or 1year membership, if you think about it max within a month you will run out of matches in your area, so you have to wait for new people to show up which may be couple of then a day if you are lucky, so basically you ended up wasting your money for rest of the membership period, and last but not least the app is buggy , hey dev team if your company had a decent QA team and tested this app at least for an hour it could have been a good user experience, totally not worth spending 60$ a month.

Toxic Experience!! Beware!!. This app is mainly a disappointment. I’ve gotten a lot of matches most people are either too far away or aren’t serious about a real relationship. It’s hard to feel confident about someone on this app when they can easily talk to someone else. Too many options can result to lack of trust and commitment. In my opinion if your young in your early 20s-mid. Just looking to talk too brown people then this app is for you. Me personally it’s a waste of time if your looking for something serious. It’s basically tinder but brown people version. I don’t recommend this app mainly due to the fact you can put yourself in vulnerable situations. Sharing yourself and your life with a stranger that has so many options can be dangerous. So be careful and be safe if your using this app.

Buggy with poor support. I have run into several bugs, and the support team is just plain bad. They refuse to acknowledge any bugs, or even answer my questions no matter how straightforwardly I rephrase them. (On my second attempt I even numbered my questions to make it super clear what I wanted answered, and they still gave a generic stock reply.) The app is very solid from a conceptual and UI standpoint. It feels warm and classy, not sleazy like Tinder. The quotes are a nice touch. And the userbase is to my liking. But given the bugs and poor support, the app just doesn't seem reliable. Why should I trust their algorithms or their messaging system to work as intended?

Decent app with desi touch. Love this app. The interface is cool, it makes swiping super easy, and allows you to apply filters such as height, religion, raised in, and location which is extremely important for south asians when looking for a partner. It's my favorite dating app that I've used thus far. And I've had the most successful connections/dates from it, too. Apps like Dil Mil are cool because they help you combine the modern dating world with the old school. I just wish the location filter allowed users to choose an exact amount of miles we want to see users in.

Confusing and inconsistent gestures. New version has introduced confusing gestures. It introduces left tap and right tap to go to prev or next photo. Why not just keep one tap to cycle through the photos! Then it would be difficult to go to previous photo, I guess. Ideally, then, left swipe and write swipe should allow you to browse the photo- a gesture which became natural to iOS users since iPhone 1. Photo app uses this gesture and so are other third party photo app. However, it seems like DM team wanted to jump on the same design practices other dating apps are using and gave up on their advantage. It is just so easy to inadvertently swipe left or swipe right when you just want to browse through the photographs. Looks like glimpse section is removed!

Terrible app. Bugs, no matches, nothing makes sense. Really just a trash app. Unable to get any matches at all with this app even with VIP, while I’m easily matching with other people on apps like tinder and okc. UI and concept is fine but also when you have a 500 mi limit that can also be annoying. I also got my account temporarily suspended because my photo didn’t meet their requirements. It made no sense because my photo was a normal picture of only me without sunglasses, nudity, other people, objects, or anything else they mention for their guidelines. Whenever I reach out to support, they respond fairly quickly which is nice. However, their responses are generic and not helpful at all.

Last update forcing you to buy. Before last update you could left swipe as many as you needed to, but you used to get only 10 “dils” to swipe right in the free version. After last update, the app gives you only 10 swipes that you could swipe right or left!! That’s LITERALLY GIVING YOU 10 profiles to look at daily. Are you kidding me? When I contacted support they talked as if they’re oblivious to this “change”, instead talked as if this was always the case. Oh well if you gonna force customers with such shi””y strategies then might as well just sell this app and not have it free at all anymore. I’m not against paying for services but I hate cheating tricksters or deceptive ways to sell services. I hope you guys lose more customers like you’ve lost me, yep not coming back ever.

Maybe it'll work better if you pay. The app has the basics - photo, and description. Swipe left or right. Super like for money. The unique spin is the 'Mil and chill' which is a gigantic chat/game room which isn't really my cup of tea. Imagine a whole bunch of strangers in one group chat... My biggest problem is that I live in Seattle and I have two filter options - country based which shows anyone in the US, or 'near me' which gets flooded by people from Vancouver, CA which is technically near me but not very useful. Maybe it'll work better if I pay them money. The chat isn't great. The notification on messages received is sporadic and if you're actively talking to someone, there is a delay between getting the notification (on the rare times that it works) and the actual text If you unmatch someone after starting a chat, the profile gets recycled and shows up in you feed again.

Really bad experience. Firstly, The app shows a button to try the VIP Elite feature for 7 days free trial but when I clicked on the button, I was charged $35. On contacting them, they said we have no return policy. Why do they show the free trial button if that is not valid for a user? Secondly, Now, If I have to make use of the Elite features, If I send a note to anyone, I get the email saying someone sent you a note. Due to this bug, my notes are send back to me. Also, there is no way to see the notes that you sent. On contacting the support, they asked me to uninstall the app, restart the device, download the latest version and then try. This didn’t help. After this, they told me to keep retrying and troubleshooting instead of fixing their bugs.

Worst Customer support and Buggy Application. They have added new feature called Dil Details where we can see who has already liked you and not. So I was using this application from last two months with VIP elite subscription, suddenly I noticed that I am not getting Matches even if both the person has liked each other (yeah What’s the point of using the app which is made for one and only purpose and not fulfilling it ). So I raised a concern with customer support they accepted that this is going and their engineers are fixing this.(I believe that they are doing this purposefully so user just spends time here more and buy their stupid subscriptions). When I asked what about the money I paid for subscription, they refused to refund or extend my subscription and instead asked me to cancel subscription from apple app store.

Lovely App. Thanks to Dil Mil I found my love and my best friend! I was on the app for many years and definitely would recommend staying patient and persistent! I definitely think Dil Mil has made huge progress on the app as far as allowing people to filter locations, religion, education which is difficult to do on some other similar dating apps! I liked that you can purchase the dil mil vip which allowed you have extra swipes per day as well! Highly recommend this app for south asians who are looking to find their partner!

Matched & now we’re 11 months strong!!. BEFORE I matched with my boyfriend, the men on this app are EDUCATED, PROFESSIONAL, POLITE, FAMILY ORIENTED & WORTH YOUR TIME unlike tinder, where it’s just for hook ups. been there, done that.. no thanks. I wanted to have REAL conversations with people I could potentially see myself with long term. Once I got on DilMil I really enjoyed the conversations I had with my matches. I felt that the men on this app were completely different from tinder and other dating app- they were serious! Although I did not feel a connection with of my matches UNTIL I found the one!! HANDSOME guy, with an amazing personality.

Racist people. Banned me because I’m Muslim. I had this app for really long time but never really made an account. Yesterday, I gave it a try and made an account for the first time. I verified my email and never got a chance to verify my picture. Literally 5 minutes later I get a notification that I’m banned for being inappropriate. I didn’t even get to swipe on anyone. Then I get a message from Dil Mil team that I need to show them my government ID (there are call centers in India for scammer, it’s just uncomfortable to share your ID to random ppl and it could be used for other things). And why would you need my ID when I can verify my pic by taking my real picture? This is just really unprofessional.

Worst first impression. I just downloaded this app even after reading all the negative reviews to give it a chance. It was a total turn off. The app hardly showed me four profiles and it is already begging me to subscribe for $33 a month. That is a ridiculous amount of subscription price for something which is brand new in the market without a large user base. Nobody knows about this app and yet it asks people to pay four times more than the most popular apps (Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, etc) that exist in the market. This app will become a total failure because of the developer’s impatience and greed to make as much money as possible in the shortest time. First start focusing on how to attract users for free and then think of making money when you become very famous. All successful people work that way. Only total failures think like these developers.

Success!. I had been on and off dating apps for years. However how can I not give Dil Mil 5 stars when I ended up meeting my husband in the app? Connected one day, talked via text and on the phone for 1-2 months and decided to meet up! The rest is history, we have now been married almost 1 year. It takes persistence and effort but would definitely recommend this app if you are South Asian & trying to meet other South Asians looking for love ❤️

Download DilMil. When you’re single and trying to find someone to talk to, people always say you should download a dating app. At first, you think it’s a good idea but then you think will I find someone? DilMil made it very easy to meet people that understood my culture and background. If you’re looking for your person or just someone to talk to to, DilMil is great place to start. If it wasn’t for DilMil my fiancé and I would have never cross paths.

Judgmental. Honestly, I downloaded this app for the hopes of meeting someone with my similar background. It didn’t happen, most people I have met at super judgmental. But the people on the app aside, the app it self is not very user friendly. I was flagged as a “fake profile” by one of your users and in order for me to unblock my profile I need to scan in my government issued ID which has all my private information. All I want is for Dil mil to delete all my data but they refuse to do it without my ID. I don’t feel comfortable sending that information over, I have had a back and forth with customer service fir weeks and I keep getting the same answer. They have made it difficult for me to come back to them(not like I had any success on this app anyway). I am sure others have had success with this app but honestly, this experience was pretty bad.

Met my husband on this app!!. DilMil is an amazing app that allowed my husband and I to meet each other 5 years ago. Back then, dating apps weren’t as commonly used and there weren’t any specific apps for meeting south Asian people. We owe our entire relationship to DilMil! The settings in DilMil also allow you to set your criteria to get you closer to what you’re looking for. Funny thing is, even my husband’s brother met his girlfriend on DilMil so we’re a full on DilMil family.
