Used to be my absolute favorite training app. Aaptiv played a huge role in me getting in shape last year. Particularly Meg’s cross train to 5K program. Now that Meg and Kenta aren’t with Aaptiv, and that the majority of their workouts were deleted, I find this app to be lacking. They also deleted the boxing and rowing workouts from the app entirely. The trainers who are currently with Aaptiv are, I’m sure, great, but it’s a huge bummer when you develop a “relationship” to a trainer’s particular motivational style and workout type and then they’re gone, with little-to-no advance notice or communication from the app. Not only are there fewer individual workouts, they have less than half the programs (workout collections to train for a particular thing) as before, and the programs they do have are generally just cobbled-together collections from existing workouts. This results in disjointed programs that don’t really build on each other; essentially it’s just a list of various workouts (of annoyingly various fitness levels) that don’t have much cohesion. Unfortunately, after being a subscriber for years, I’m cancelling now that I can’t get what I want from this app anymore. Thanks for the good times Aaptiv.

The best fitness app out there!. I am a long time runner (over 40 yrs) and Ironman Triathlete. I train a LOT at swimming, biking and running. And I get bored when I have to train so much. I also work full time and then some and I live in the Northwest where it snows, rains and ices up a lot, so a lot of my workouts are indoors before I go to work. This app has breathed new life and motivation in to me. The trainers are amazing, the sound tracks are amazing and the convenience is amazing. Not to mention I am working harder than if I had to do these workouts on my own. The treadmill and strength combined workouts allow me to be more efficient as I not only get is speed work, but some serious muscle work. I have used several other apps to include Peloton (video based) and love this one so much more. The variety for different types of workouts is fantastic. And now that I can get it on my Apple Watch too, possibilities are endless. Many thanks to all the trainers for keeping me strong and motivated and for sounding so dedicated to the audience. Love the encouragement and the pushing to the next level. I actually want to even get up earlier so I can have Ben in my ear while I pound the pedals on my Triathlon bike on the trainer. Keep up the great work!

Deleted Rowing Workouts & Changes w/o Notice. I took the plunge and joined Aaptiv probably close to a year ago. It took me a while to use it consistently because they were trying to fix advertised functions that didn’t work—like the ability to download workouts on your Apple Watch. (Still no idea if that works. I finally gave up on that.) Recently, however, they removed all of their rowing workouts. There was no notice about this. I went into the gym one day and tried to pull up a rowing workout. At first I thought there must be a problem with my phone, but after wasting 5 minutes of my gym time trying to figure out what was going on it was clear that they’d just deleted them. They deleted them without adequate notice or even feedback. Weeks later there is just one rowing workout on the entire app. ONE. That’s crazy. Variety and choice is one of the things you expect from a fitness app. You also expect a high degree of consideration for customers for an app that’s $100.

Snappy app and great workouts, some improvements. Love how this app is audio based because I find videos to be distracting. I like the instructors. Some places for improvement: can you fade the music out when the workout ends? Would be a nice touch. Also add quick filters for time when you tap within each workout category. These need to be smarter. Can you recommend me workouts I like based on what I’ve done before? Or give me filters based on time, type of workout? For example for yoga I want to see short and longer workouts because I’m trying to fit them in at different times. Or quick sort by intensity instead of having to navigate to different screens. I also want to be able to change my music category when the workout is active so I don’t have to quit my workout. Overall I find the search to be a dumb sort - can’t you power this engine with all my workout data by now?

best fitness app. I’ve been using aaptiv for a little under a year now, and as the renewal date for the annual membership approaches, I thought I’d put in my two cents on the app. I’m not a huge fitness person, but I always found gyms intimidating with the various equipment and typically prefer at home workouts. Something to keep in mind if you’ll be using headphones, they definitely need to be cordless or I’d imagine they’d get in the way. I use the app maybe 1-2x/week in addition to going to my yoga studio. It’s great for quick (or long if you want), customized workouts and the music selection is pretty good (definitely better than any other fitness app out there). The “Body and Mind” yoga & meditation program with Kenta was one of my favorites. There’s so much room to play around on the app, as they have hundreds of workouts no matter the activity you’re on looking for & your fitness level. I’ll be renewing my subscription with aaptiv for the coming year, best fitness app I’ve been able to find!

I’m in love. So first off, I’m the person that balks at dropping $1.99 on an app, so I put a LOT of thought into spending the money for this. I took advantage of the free month trial and decided that I wanted to continue. I really love using this. I am not huge in classes, and most definitely can not afford a trainer. I love going to the gym as opposed to working out at home, so being able to just put on headphones and listen to someone talk you through everything is so great. I love the variety of exercises, levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) and the different amounts of time for each one. It’s highly customizable to fit your schedule and life. It pushes me much better than I can push myself. And it keeps you going. When I would do things on my own, I’d take longer pauses, take time to determine what to do next, or have to look up a plan. Here, it’s all audio, so you just do what they tell you. There’s even a fairly broad range of music. I’ve only been using it for about a month following the trial period, but I’m very glad I made the investment.

Love the app but room for improvement. I'm in love with this app. It's really great for someone who needs that extra push. It's also made interval training (something I've always wanted to do but sucked at) much easier to stick with. However, even though the app is awesome, there's a few ways it could improve. A more thorough explanation of the workout in the description is really helpful. It's not so bad with cardio, but the stretches can become really frustrating if you have to pause again and again to look up the proper form if a move is new to you. A video link within the app would also be fantastic. Also, I like that you can favor workouts but it would be great if you could add some sort of note or reminder for yourself. For example, I love certain workouts for different reasons and it's hard to keep it all straight in my head. Overall though, the app is pretty awesome and worth the subscription price. Keep it up!

The #1 audio fitness app has lost its value. Perfect app when you have no time to plan, pick a workout and go.....until they remove a ton of good content and replace it with all entry level workouts, remove challenging race training programs, remove rowing and boxing programs, and seem to be moving away from where their initial value was established. I recently changed my subscription from monthly to annual due to my excitement and high satisfaction with Aaptiv. Shortly after doing this, the app started to crash when I was searching for workouts and after starting a running program in addition to establishing my own schedule with boxing, rowing, indoor cycle, and strength / core- most of the great workouts disappeared. I was told an email was sent to me, which I have not been able to locate. When I followed the link in response to my inquiry, I received a very vague response commenting on how they were striving for high quality and had to remove content in order to meet their customer feedback. All of the feedback I sent to until this occurred had been great. When reading most recent reviews, it appears what occurred to me occurred to several users. As a loyal user who is strongly considering ending my membership and switching over to a competitor, I would consider alternatives and read additional reviews before proceeding.

Better than peloton, great for audio only. Update to my review: I hate what they’ve done. While in theory it sounds nice to be able to pick our own music, my favorite workouts were the ones the trainers timed to the music—particularly Jon’s runs. He timed the sprints and other challenges to the drops and to the beat. Now the songs don’t line up at all, and it is much less enjoyable. Disappointed. Original review: I have been using Aaptiv for almost a year now. I tried a month of one peloton also, and I decided to stick with Aaptiv because of the variety and number of workouts and the trainers (my favorites are Jon, Kenta, Aakim, and Casey). I use outdoor running, treadmill, and strength workouts. Also, Peloton had a lot more explicit music, which I didn’t want and had no way of turning off (if I remember correctly). Aaptiv has some video workouts, but I rarely use them and find that the audio cues are very well done. I rarely look at the video moves during an audio workout, but if I did it WOULD be nice if the video moves would cycle through during the workout to match the audio. REQUEST for developers: I’d like to be able to sort and filter through my saved, categorized workouts. For instance, I have 30+ workouts saved in my personal Running category, and I’d like to be able to sort by length of workout, intensity, trainer—but especially by length of workout. Thanks!

Makes it so easy to spin at home!. I bought an indoor bike a few months ago. I tried to do two "classes" on my own based on what I knew from taking indoor cycling classes for years in NYC. It just didn't work... SO when I discovered Aaptiv (by seeing billboards all over NYC) I decided it would be the perfect time to try it. I still have to get up or get home to do my workouts, but Aaptiv makes it so easy! I love that I can pick a workout based on time. When I wake up and only have 25 mins until I need to be in the shower the 20-22 min workouts make feel great! I really do love Aaptiv. I have also tried the yoga class which was great! Try it out. I highly recommend! Also, their design and whole experience is great. I started an 18 min class and then realized I'd only be getting about 15 mins of actual workout so I ended the class and it immediately popped up options that were the same level just in the 20 min range - it was perfect! And allowed me not to have to search further in an early morning fog!

4.5 Stars. Love this app. and alternate between/combine this and beach body on demand. I love this because it really allows you to still get a workout in even if you don't have a ton of time. Waiting for water to boil or the oven to preheat for dinner? That's a solid 10 minutes and there are tons of workouts you can choose to fit that time. Having trouble winding down for bed? Turn on a 5 minute bedtime yoga series or meditation. Want to start jogging, but need some structure or motivation? There are workouts for that (from walking a mile all the way up to marathon training). My only complaint is that I wish there were more filtering options. For example, today I would like to do a lower body or glut workout that's about 20 minutes long. I can sort all of the strength training workouts that are about that long, but from there have to search through the dozens available to find the ones that focus on lower body. Not a big deal, but would love to be able to dial it in and make it even easier!

Helps motivate. I never wrote reviews but I will say that the app has really helped me focus my exercise. I am a 52 year old female who had major abdominal and pelvic surgery last summer along w instant menopause so it’s been a struggle to maintain fitness and I found myself with excess abdominal fat and overall feeling “ blah”. With the app I have been able to get outside and start running again with the focused run- walk programs ( started w walk only now up to the intervals of walk- jog- run) also I really enjoy the meditations. My plan is to do some workouts at the gym with treadmill- elliptical-stairs and strength but have been focused more outdoors due to great weather! I have used personal trainers in the past and this is equally motivating if not more so because of the variety. I now have more energy and stamina and am much less bloated. I recommend this app to anyone needed a little push !

Motivates me to workout more. I’m usually skeptical of instagram ads, but after trying Aaptiv out I’m seriously hooked. I’m a runner and used to be an avid, amateur weight lifter but I’d been going to the barbell less and less due to the knee and back injuries it gave me. Since I’m trying to gain back strength, I appreciate the simplicity and emphasis on proper form in Aaptiv workouts, sans-equipment. I started out with a sub-10 min workout to test waters but after crushing that, what I thought would be 10-minutes quickly became a 40-minute workout because the workouts are so addicting. Switching instructors, music-tastes, and exercises made the long workout exciting, and crushing them one by one felt rewarding. It is also easier for me to remember which moves worked and which didn’t so if I ever don’t have Aaptiv, I can still pull together a tough workout for myself. I like how it’s audio and not video so I can focus on what I’m feeling— rather than a screen to copy the moves of (and a distracting attractive teacher). Plus, it’s way way way cheaper than a gym membership + gas money.

Disappointed. I had Aaptiv for 3-4 years then last year they stopped having curated playlists that sync with the workouts, which was literally the thing I loved the most. I cancelled my subscription then missed it so signed up again a few months after it expired but now I wish I didn’t. They brought back curated playlists but it seems like the song selection for them is very limited; I feel like I just keep hearing the same songs over and over and they’re not exactly popular songs or ones that I enjoy. I want the music to be synced with the workout instructions and I want it to be what it used to be. All the curated playlists are basically electronic but you used to have 90s themed or Hamilton themed or songs from a specific artist for the whole workout… things like that. But that doesn’t exist anymore so the workouts are not as engaging or fun. I feel like they just wanted to save $ on the music but I would’ve gladly paid a bit more for the subscription to keep the music the way it was.

Great but can always get better. I have recently starting using this app and I think it is great!! My only problem is the scheduling part of it. I kind of wish it wasn’t there at all because it really annoys me how useless it is. On my app I can only make one schedule. So I either schedule every day for the same time or schedule a random amount of days for the same time. The scheduler is assuming that I have a traditional 9-5 and am prepared to work out every day at the same time. I wish I could create multiple scheduled notifications to work out. TO PUSH THE SCHEDULING PART EVEN FURTHER... it would be amazing if I could actually go into work out and schedule them for different days or at least at a specific workout to my phones calendar or something so I could kind of create my own training schedule. I’m really hoping that I am to dumb to figure out how to work the scheduling and someone will comment or email telling me that I can actually do all these things in the app.

So far very impressed. Hello Aaptiv family, I just added Aaptiv into my workout routine 2 weeks ago and so far I’ve been very impressed. I’ve done strength training, spin, stretching, and yoga classes with the app so far. I’ve had trouble in the past staying with a workout routine and being motivated during workouts when I’m left to my own devices and this has helped a lot with that. I would like to make a couple of suggestions for future updates: the ability to search for workouts depending on what equipment you have available and more details for the workouts in the summary, like exactly what exercises are being used so I can look them up before the workout if needed. I don’t really care what kind of music is being played or who the trainer is. I just want to select a workout that I’ll be able to do with the equipment I have available. All in all, I’m loving the app so far. Thanks for the motivation!

Been using this app for years. My husband and I began using this app in 2017 and have stuck with it for 4 years now. I love that you can enroll in challenges, it really pushes you to keep up with your workouts. There is a huge variety of workout classes which has appealed to us throughout the years. I’ve tried just about every type. I absolutely LOVE the new update where you can pick your workout music and adjust the volume. After I had my son I realized that there was a maternity section which I wish I found before! A postpartum section would be great. The only reason I give only 4/5 stars is due to that and sometimes the videos of the exercise moves don’t exactly match what the coach is calling for but that’s okay because you can use the video as a base understanding and adjust yourself based on the coach’s description of the move. Thanks to everyone who is involved with creating this and maintaining this app!

This App is very motivational and keeps me going. I love this App, I love the idea of a trainer in my ear pushing me because that’s what I need when I work out so this app is great in that respect and with all the intensity levels etc. I never get bored or tired or feel like I am doing the same old thing every time I work out. What would make this App a 5 star is on some of the workouts, especially the core workouts even though they explain the exercise in as much detail as possible, sometimes I still don’t feel like I am doing it correctly so I have to pause the workout look it up online or go back 30 seconds to really listen to how to perform the exercise. If there was a way to have a slide showing how to do the exercise where the trainers picture is at, that would be helpful for us visual learners. SWORKIT shows you how to do the exercise but lacks what this App brings to the table in terms of different types and number of workouts coupled with a personal trainer pushing you and giving motivation. If that was added to this I don’t even think it could be any better. I hope that is something that is added in the future so that way at the end of each workout you can feel like you did it right and got the most out of it! All in all I really like this and feel it is worth the purchase!💪🏽

Less means more. I’ve been an Aaptiv member for a number of years and have witnessed it grow and improve. I usually use their treadmill, strength, and meditation routines. And tend to use the same trainers and workouts. About a year ago a friend got into the Peloton and although I don’t have the space for a peloton I was persuaded to try their app. I tried to like the Peloton app but for me, I prefer not needing to be looking at the screen while working out. It may not be a big deal for some but for me especially for the strength training exercises it’s enough for me to look at a video on how the moves go and I no longer need to look at it after I get the hang of it nor do I need to have the trainer do the exercises with me. I like to move through the exercises relatively quickly but with the peloton app you’re waiting for the trainer to get into position, get their weights in the video. I prefer to have the trainer talk through the moves (like in Aaptiv) and view the moves if needed so I don’t waste my time waiting for the trainer do the exercises with me. So I went back to Aaptiv because I prefer their approach and interface that’s straight forward and uncomplicated. I don’t know about all the Aaptiv trainers but Kenta, Ackeem, Meg, and Amanda B are very good at voice instruction. They’re my favorites. This is a long overdue review that is given out of my gratefulness to Aaptiv and I want to thank them for all of these years of helping me stay consistent and motivated.

Recent changes disappointing. When I initially tried the app, I was pleasantly surprised. Having just audio to rely on for your training...I was skeptical since I wasn’t sure how you could vocalize transitions during training but found it was easy to follow. They had great trainers as well. HOWEVER, 3 days ago, the app suddenly deleted a whole slew of content without any notice (AAPTIV says they sent out a member wide email weeks ago, but I never received this) In addition, I was in the midst of a training program - so I open the app this week to find that my progression is also gone. AAPTIV should have found a workaround for existing subscribers currently doing a training program. In addition, member communication should have been done within the app prior to deletion. AAPTIV definitely messed up with this content “update”. I wrote in to explain the situation and the only response after saying how they botched this was “We are sorry to see you go but wish you luck”. They are missing the entire point of this exercise. AAPTIV has an active member base; I saw that quite a few members were complaining about the same thing - AAPTIV should learn how to better communicate and FIX this type of situation where CONTENT is paramount. I’m disappointed they don’t seem to care about soliciting feedback. I will be cancelling my subscription and trying out the GO audio fitness app instead from now on. I see their ratings are good...I wish AAPTIV “well”

Compuslory survey with your personal info required to use the app. I purchased this app and had a sort of honeymoon period with it and told everyone about it. Then, one random day, it began to require that I complete a survey with my weight, age, height, fitness goAls, days I plan to work out...etc. i wrote to support they said to sign out and uninstall- which worked once. But now its back and I can’t use the app unless I agree to complete the questionnaire first. I don't know why I am taking such a hard stand on this, but I refuse to do the questionnaire. I am very annoyed because I paid a lot of money for the app and I dont really feel like this information should be required to use it. I am spending way too much time annoyed by this, I should probably just put my info in and be done with it so I can get back to using it. But the principle is bothering me and I wont do it. I wrote to support team. If this is resolved I will update my review.

Best fitness app. By far the best fitness app I've ever encountered and with each update it just gets better and better. I literally can't shut up about this app and at least 5 friends and family members have downloaded it because of my fervent endorsement! Trust me when I say that I cannot be bothered to leave reviews (this is actually the first ever review I've ever left for an app) but Aaptiv definitely deserves it. I also never stick to a fitness app for longer than a month and I have been using this for 2 years now. Great workouts with great music and amazing trainers! I work out at a gym and a personal trainer has literally been chasing me to be his client for months but little does he know I have 10+ personal trainers telling me what to do through my headphones as I'm telling him I'm not interested! I absolutely loved the last update where you can search for a workout and I'm also loving the filters, it has greatly improved the usability of the app. Whoever is in charge of app development there should be given a raise and Christmas bonus because he/she is nailing it! Shout out to my favourite trainers: Kelly, Meghan and Rochelle your workouts rock!

they deleted vast majority of content: DONT JOIN. Update: it looks like aaptiv is working to replace some content. But the best trainers are gone, there is little variety now and i have so much negative emotion towards this company that I get angry using the app. This was my go to on a daily basis. I told everyone about it. Now i am using some other apps and realizing they are better, more about actually improving my workout quality rather than being “all levels” and with terrible music. Even more upsetting is NO updates from the company and when i tried to sign up for FB page, NOTHING, no response. I have used this app for three years! Nice way to treat a loyal customer. My earlier post (before finding ClassPass GO, with awesome rowing and cycling workouts): I went to gym today and just rowed on my own, missing the rowing workouts like mad. I looked for a kelly ride and saw you deleted ALL but 1 of her bike rides. What is going on??? We paid for a year in advance to have you just delete content. The best trainers, the best workouts. Why??? There is so much competition that will get my money when subscription comes back around. We members were your best advertisers and you screwed us

Great app, but .... I have been a paid subscriber for a couple of years. In short, I love Aaptiv, but there could be improvements. Overall, this is an effective app with an eclectic offering of workouts. However, I want to add my voice to those who were disappointed when AAPTIV pulled many of the workouts. I was, and am, particularly chagrined about the loss of rowing machine workouts. Please bring some back or incorporate new ones! Also, the videos don’t always match the audio. As a predominantly audio app, I figure that is a cost of doing business and a work in progress. But some of the exercises in the stretching, yoga and Pilates workouts are difficult to follow (at least for neophytes). Don’t get me wrong the quality and enthusiasm of the instructors, the multi-level programs and challenges and the growing variety of workouts still make this my go to fitness app. But when it’s time to renew my annual subscription, I will compare to other apps and see...

Terrible support!. I signed up got the trial and have tried many, many times over several days to simply log in either through Facebook or using email and password. I’ve successfully reset my password many times and still can’t log in. I have emailed customer support and got no response. I finally found a phone number for customer support and called and of course no one answered. I had to call and leave many messages before I finally got an email telling me to update the Aaptiv app. I had already deleted and reinstalled the app many times in an effort to successfully log in so the app was already updated. The aaptiv site indicates the schedule for chat availability, but it is false as there is no chat available during these times. I can’t stress the frustration of simply trying to log in after giving my credit card info and setting up an account. I’ll bet they will be very efficient about charging my credit card though even though I have never once been able to successfully log-in. I can’t even log in in order to cancel my subscription. Save yourself the frustration and find another fitness app.

Great support for lifestyle change. I love Aaptiv. I started using it in January 2019 and was admittedly pretty...lazy but wanted to have a healthy, physical lifestyle but working from home and the demands of life were challenges. My first Aaptiv workout was just a stretch because I was so intimidated by getting back into a workout routine. I felt so good after and gradually worked my way up using some of their programs. The game changer for me was the coach feature though. It turned me from an occasional exerciser to making working out part of my daily routine. I lost weight, gained strength, and for the first time ever felt really happy with my body and my abilities. I’m on a 60+ week workout streak because of the coach feature and so proud of it. I love the trainers and their personalities - I look forward to ‘connecting’ with them during my workouts. The workouts are a mood boost as much as a physical boost. Can’t imagine my days without my Aaptiv routine.

Motivational. I have always loathed cardio, and now all of a sudden I’m two months into running outside all the time—even waking up at 5:30 to get it in, yoga mornings, doing HIITs....constantly thinking about when I can fit in an Aaptiv class in my day.... Like who even am I? Haha. Turns out I just needed that pusher, that teacher, that motivation and inspiration in my ear. And the trainers at Aaptiv are that for me and I’m so grateful they share their awesomeness with me! And it takes the hard work out of working out....I used to stress all the time about what workout I should do, which moves, how long, interval timing, then also the playlist....and AAPTIV takes care of all that. I pick a session based on what I want, and I don’t have to pick moves, I don’t have to set a interval timer, don’t have to watch the clock, don’t have to pick out a play list that matches my tempo or mood, etc etc...I just put my headphones in, chose a program, and go! Aaptiv literally takes care of the rest, so I can focus on giving my best to the workout. This app has seriously been life changing for me. And I never write reviews unless smitten with something!! AAPTIV I LOVE YOU!

The best !. For that extra push this app is perfect ! It’s feels like the trainer is right there with you, leading you through each workout series. I also like how you can pick your own level from beginner to advanced and not to mention Category music title background. I appreciate before you begin the workout session they provide brief explanation about selected workout of the whats and how this trainer will help you with etc. That way there is no surprises during the workout... before you begin the trainer even allows you to warm up for few minutes. What I really like about this app on whether it’s Elliptical or treadmill I can burn almost up to 400cals in 30mins. As far time is concern this app prevents you from spending large amount at the gym reaching your target goal in much less time. Look forward trying the strength training. Love it ! Highly recommend.

Love it, have some suggestions. I've been using aaptiv every day for the last 7 weeks (!!!) so obviously I love it. The core and treadmill runs are especially great, I went from running a slow mile as a warm up to now doing different sprint interval workouts each day. Really keeps my workouts interesting, and I love having someone tell me what exercises to do and for how long when I'm doing core. As someone who lifts everyday I think there could be some improvements - I focus on different muscle groups each day and a lot of the workouts are just full upper-body. Would love to see more just chest or just triceps etc. Also would be great to be able to edit my daily coach so that I could get suggestions for just back and shoulder workouts on Mondays etc. Finally I really like the scheduling classes feature, but I'd like an option to have it only show in the app, not on my apple calendar. All in all awesome app- is pushing me to be in the best shape of my life so THANK YOU!!

Audio led workouts leave you wondering.... This app was recommended to me so I tried it and paid for it. The trial period is only 7 days so I’m surprised they get new users at all. I would not have tried it post trial except my workout buddy uses it. The exercises are audio only with short videos to teach you the moves. HOWEVER the videos don’t match the workouts. I did side lunges to match the video instructions but then heard a cue to start the next move: side lunges! I discovered the next round that it was side squats but as a beginner didn’t know exactly how that should work. Some videos are missing and some don’t match. Example: video instructions were for standard sit-up but the audio prompted lay flat, sit up, fold to touch toes. THE MUSIC does not match the reps. This bothers me immensely and the beat is the reason to work out to music. I expect a paid app to have the music synced to the workout and transitions between songs to only happen between moves. I liked these last two workouts by “Kenta“ but wouldn’t actually recommend this app. I’m not motivated to continue especially with the music issue and guessing how to do each exercise.

Great motivator!. I've struggled to find my "zone" or my reason to stay motivated during a gym session. I know I want to go and get fit but I always get bored or distracted halfway through my workout, or I simply go in with no plan and end up just screwing around not accomplishing much. I tried the 30 day free trial of this app and y'all just scored another $50 year long membership subscriber here because I love this app! I actually compete the classes and do all of the workouts and stay focused! I love how the trainers help fine tune you, they're experts and they just know what you're probably doing incorrectly and they teach you how to fix it! I wish they showed a few pictures of what the exercises and poses should look like because sometimes it's hard to envision it but you can always google it while listening to the app! I've recommended this to so many of my friends already.

Amazing!. I never write reviews, let me start there. I’m lazy. I felt I needed to tell YOU how amazing this app is. I was a member of Orange theory for years. I paid about as much a month for that as I do for a year of aaptiv and I didn’t see the results that I have in the 5 weeks I’ve been using this app, then again I didn’t go to orange theory consistently because their class schedules didn’t always fit into my life. I love the trainers and the Facebook community and just every aspect of this app. I have shaved several minutes off my mile already and run the longest distance I have run I years and I was near tears finishing that run. You need this app. Seriously, you do. I have never worked out consistently for 5 weeks (about to go into 6 tomorrow) since high school, but this app has got me there. Do it, buy it, love it and live it. Also listen to trainer JJ thornhill and “live your truth and eat your vegetables!”

Lovin' the Freedom and Control. I've been using Aaptiv for a year or so now, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some workout motivation. It's awesome to have a trainer in your ears, talking you through the workouts. Some notes: -There are tons of class options in different categories ranging from yoga to strength training to runs. -There's a whole team of Aaptiv coaches that each have different specializations. Switching it up keeps things fresh every day. New classes are added all the time. -This app is especially great, in my opinion, for people who are familiar with some exercise movements. If you aren't sure, a quick pause and google search usually does the trick. -The freedom is another plus -- you can mix, match, and stack workouts to create your own schedule that works for your goals. -I typically prefer body weight exercises and runs, without the use of equipment, and Aaptiv is super accommodating. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend buying a running belt to put your phone in and either some workout headphones or scotch tape to keep everything in place while you're moving around. Don't hold back! All in all, in my opinion, it's absolutely worth the monthly rate. Just remember that it's probably easier for people with a baseline knowledge of exercise and nutrition. Now get after it, y'all!

Bugs need eradication. I used this app several years ago with great success. It was a great app to have the curated runs with appropriate music, all synced up perfectly. The encouragement from the coaches was spot on. I’ve just come back to the app after several years of not using it and I find that many of the program outdoor running workouts do not download to the Apple Watch Ultra. This is a huge disappointment as I refuse to take my iPhone brick on runs with me. I called customer service after getting their phone number from the email response and I actually got a call back! I talked to Kris and he said that they were going to be working on fixing this bug so that all the workouts work on the Apple Watch Ultra. I am extremely skeptical that they will fix this, but I’ll give them a chance. I see that this problem has existed for a long time as per the reviews. If this doesn’t get fixed I’m going to delete the app and suspend my subscription as the app does no good for me if I can’t use it on my Apple Watch. More to follow. I’ll give them a nominal one month to get it fixed and then I’m out of here if it’s not. I doubt if I’ll get a response to this review, as most of the less than positive reviews, don’t receive any response. We’ll see, and if they claim they don’t have my email, that’s false as I gave it to Kris on the phone call and they’ve gotten it several times via my customer service emails. Get to work Aaptiv!

Aaptiv Changed Everything!. I can’t say enough good things about Aaptiv. I used to just search for workouts online or simply make it up as I went at the gym. Once I got Aaptiv, my workouts were so much more focused and effective. I love the diversity of types of workouts (treadmill, outdoor running, elliptical, strength, stretching, and so much more!!) so I can have plenty of options for my mood or my training plan. My FAVORITE thing about Aaptiv is the style of having a coach/trainer that fully planned and recorded a workout guide for you. Having someone in my ear giving my advice and motivation feels awesome. Some workout apps I’ve used in the past just have an exercise and a timer and maybe halfway through would say “keep going!” But having a real human coaching you through the whole thing is so helpful. It’s like the experience of a group fitness class or personal trainer but on your own time and having it to yourself. Aaptiv has made me a much better runner and helped me increase my fitness goals over time. I’ve been using it for years and love it just as much now as I did at the start. Thank you Aaptiv!!

Good but not yet great. As a beginner in yoga, Pilates, and stretching, I’m not as familiar with the poses, moves, or stretches just yet. That makes it really hard to follow the instructors if you have no idea what the coach is asking you to do. So instead of a workout taking ~20 minutes it actually takes a lot longer for me since I have to stop the workout, figure out what the coach wants me to do, then continue. It would be much easier if the workouts had video or at least the motion graphic that shows how to do the move for every workout. It would also be great if these moved as the coach progressed so the user doesn’t have to manually stop the workout, find the position, and then continue. Also, it’s great to have a reminder to eat something fresh everyday but offering some recipes would be even better! Hopefully some of this feedback is already being worked into the app. I’m not sure I’ll continue on if it stays as it is for years to come as he there are much more comprehensive workout/training apps to choose from.

LOVE it.. I decided to start working out when my youngest was 1 1/2. Then I decided to try running. I hated running, but I wanted to conquer it. But here’s the thing: I had NO clue what I was doing. Enter Aaptiv. I told it I was a beginner, I wanted to try running and get stronger, and boom, a list of recommendations. Audio workouts with knowledgeable, motivating trainers who at the beginner level walk you through the workouts, AND help you make sure you’re building proper form. You can do individual workouts, or they have longer programs with training schedules (like 4-12 weeks) for those who like to have everything laid out. They have everything from treadmill to boxing to yoga (and so much more!). And so many lengths, styles of music, and trainers. There’s really something for just about anyone who’s interested in fitness. Bonus: once you download the app, you have access to the Facebook community, with an amazing supportive community, and the trainers are pretty much all there, and you can ask them questions (or curse them out after a really hard workout 😆).

The Best Gym Companion!. I’ve had an Aaptiv subscription for about month now and I absolutely love it. I can’t afford a personal trainer and all the app subscriptions I was looking at were videos. I don’t know about anyone else, but trying to watch videos on my phone in a Planet Fitness just wasn’t practical for me. This was definitely the best solution. I took a leap of faith and paid for the whole year, planning on asking for a refund if I needed too, but I have no regrets! I’ve lost a few pounds and can feel myself getting stronger with every workout. And I feel like it’s helping me utilize the equipment to it’s full potential and I’m learning so much!! Two thumbs way up. A few minor things I wish could be added to the app: - I have problems doing the stretches because sometimes I don’t understand the trainer descriptions. I’m pretty sure I do a lot of the stretches wrong and it would be nice if they had the little demos that the strength training does. - I REALLY wish all my favorite workouts could be easily accessible somehow so I don’t have to search for them every time. Which brings me to... - it would be nice if there was a way to search through the workouts with key words. The filters are awesome, but sometimes I’m looking for a specific workout and searching for it specifically would be nice. Other than that I have no complaints! I’ve been telling all my friends about this and recommend it to everyone!

Amazing. I've been a gym rat for many years and a fitness instructor on and off during this time as well, and I never thought I'd get a great workout from an app. This app helped me regain my fitness and lose weight after I had fallen off the fitness and health wagon for a while. It was the perfect thing to allow me to start slow but still get a challenge. I'm now back to exercising at least 4-5 days per week, am 15 pounds lighter (with improved eating also of course), and look forward to my workout for the day. I have an extremely busy work schedule and have a crappy commute, so I love the flexibility this app affords me. If I feel like my body needs a break but I still want 30 minutes of something to get me sweating, 30 minutes of yoga with Amanda Murdock delivers. I love the challenge of the outpost running and high intensity interval training from Amanda, Mike, and Sultan. The playlists are awesome as well. Can't believe the value you get for the monthly fee. BEST APP EVER.

Awesome!. I’ve been using Aaptiv for about 6 months now and I love it! I mostly use it for running (both on be road and treadmill), and the stretching sessions. Both of those I use up to 6 days a week. I do try other Aaptiv workouts on occasion. The trainers are great, I love that I can pick a run and make a plan for the morning, then don’t have to worry about actually planning the details of the run or the music, all I have to do is run and listen to the trainers, I don’t even have to look at the time for for when to speed up or change incline, or even turn around! It’s awesome! Then it recommends a stretching session so that I can go right into one without getting distracted! I recommend it to everyone I know who works out! The only thing that could make Aaptiv better for me would be if I could download workouts onto my Fitbit Ionic so that I don’t have to run with my phone. According to Fitbit, this has to come from the app side of the house. PLEASE AAPTIV!!!!

For an audio only work out it’s good but.... I would have kept using this app/would come back to use this app if they change two things. First, the instructors of the work out need to more accurately describe the motion or movement you’re doing. There were a few times with different instructors that I had no clue what I was supposed to do. During multiple workouts I had to stop and Google what they were trying to describe and I still didn’t get a clear answer. With audio only, descriptions need to be crystal clear and a reminder of proper, safe technique should be repeated. Secondly, the music choices are good but don’t always sync up with what the instructor wants you to do. Playing a song with a slow tempo when you’re quickly running in place is very awkward. I would like to be able to turn off the suggested music paired with the workout and play my own underneath what the instructor is saying. If this I already a feature in the app, I did not know it existed.

In LOVE... thanks for the rec, Jess Lively!. I absolutely love this app. I heard about it from the Podcast “The Lively Show” by Jess Lively, and I downloaded it a few months ago. And for some reason, I never used it. Now, fast forward a few months later when I saw the Black Friday sale, I felt this push to go ahead and try it again. So I bought a year’s subscription, and have done several classes. I love the amount of variety there is, plus how you can pick your trainers, and level of difficulty! What I love even more is that the trainers I’ve had so far are really pleasant to listen to. They’re not yelling in your ear all hyped up on steroids. They’re calm, supportive, and strong. And polite! Which may seem weird to say, but even down to the little things like after a cool down stretch, saying things like, “I really hope you enjoyed your workout today, and that you keep going for it! Come back and see us! Have a great rest of your day!” Thank you, Aaptiv!!!

Good but workout programs/series changed in the middle of it.... BEWARE: Before purchasing this app make sure you read the user agreement and know what you are signing up for. Having seen so many ads for a free trial period I was under the impression this was automatic. IT IS NOT. If you want a free trial period make sure you explicitly pick a free trial period membership. As for the app itself, the workouts and concepts are really good, engaging, and motivating. That being said I recently started one of the progression series but part of the way through the series reset and completely changed what workouts were a part of it. After reading some other reviews this appears to have happened to several other people when AAPTIV went through a major change, however this just happened to me and I’ve only had the app for about a week (after these changed supposedly occurred). I’m now concerned this will be a reoccurring theme and cancel out one of the main reasons I decided to try it out. With the progressions, I also wish there was an option to add the whole thing to your calendar/coach rather than individual workouts. It would make it much easier to follow and stay on top of. Overall though, the concept is great and the workouts individually are great.

Great app, spotty watchOS. Been using the app for over a year and thought it would be lame since there’s no video and it’s only audio motivation, but I was dead wrong. Great experienced trainers who know how the human form in motion should feel. My gripe is I try to go outdoor running with my Apple Watch, I want to leave my iphone behind, but lately, the watch app has been buggy. I download the workouts from my favorites list onto my watch since I can’t stream, and when I click to start workout, it disappears and gives me the option to download the workout, essentially deleting the workout that I just downloaded. Also, when it was working using only my watch, it wouldn’t sync with the app to signal that I completed the workout, which would be helpful as I track my progress through your fitness tracts. I enjoy using the app when solely on my phone and I do an indoor workout, but the Apple Watch component needs some work. Keep up the excellent work, looking forward to future releases.

Used to love this app, but it went downhill. I had Aaptiv for over a year and thought I had finally found the perfect fitness app. It was amazing to have workouts with great music and talented instructors, and I could get into the workout without having to think about anything other than the movements. It really made my time at the gym so much easier. I loved all of the options (running, strength, boxing, stretching, etcetera) and the saved workouts section. However, when they “updated” the app, they deleted hundreds of workouts (some of my favorites included) and failed to replace them with new ones. Essentially, I was paying the same amount for less. One my favorite parts of the app was having such a wide range of workouts, but suddenly, I began running out of new ones with the limited options. So, I quit the app (sadly) and I am now using SWEAT which I highly recommend (although it’s very different). I would consider redownloading in the future if the app returns to its classic structure.

Poor Customer Communication. I loved this app. You can sort exercises by trainer, type, length, and difficulty level. Super user friendly. I would look at a whole week in advance and plan my workouts. Recently, they pulled ALL my favorite classes and my two favorite trainers. They did not give notice. I finally found out by going out to their FB page. I made sure every workout I left a review about the class and what I thought about the trainer. If they were truly meeting the needs of their clientele, then they would have seen that some of us primarily only used what they pulled. The sad thing is they have no other similar classes or the type of trainers I learned to love. Also, their customer service is lacking. They say you can email for help. I emailed due to technical issues. That was yesterday and I am still waiting to hear back and it was “during hours”. When you are working out, most people have only so much time. If you can’t use the app due to technical issues and have to wait days to resolve, that pretty much squelches that workout plan. I would hope Aaptiv would be more responsive to their users technical issues as well as notify them regarding changes to the program. I signed up for the old Aaptiv. I feel I should be able to get my money back as this is not the program I signed up for.

Worth it and inspiring! Feedback on Music changes. I like the app a lot and have been using it for years, and it is well worth the money. Trainers are great, Jamie, Akeem, Cesar and Jon are my favorites. My only feedback is this: I understand due to licensing some of the music older workouts were designed with is no longer available. I recently did Passion Project walk, and I wish there was a “suggestion” listed based on what type of music was originally in the workout even if certain songs aren’t available. Usually you can choose the old playlist which I always prefer, but I’d like to know the genre from before so I can choose accordingly if not. If the pacing won’t match i want to at least have the right vibe. Sometimes you can tell from the title but sometimes you can’t. Please list suggestions!

Aaptiv where ya at?. So I’ve been a loyal Aaptiv member for 4 years now and experienced what many other years stated in their reviews three years ago with the massive data wipe. I was in the midst of their half marathon training program and one morning I woke up to do another workout and everything was gone. To say I was furious was an understatement. Since then they’ve revamped the app and brought back the half marathon training program among many others. The music choices for workouts feature is nice but I find that the songs don’t align with the workouts anymore and sometimes either the music is too loud or the trainer is too loud making me pause the workout and play with the finicky volume adjustments for both only to then have to pause again to re-adjust it with the next song. Further, not every workout is compatible with the Apple Watch due to licensing agreements…..somewhat of another let down. The trainers are phenomenal but the app quality seems to be decreasing the longer I’m a subscriber. I would opt to pay more for better/more refined features and to have the ability of every workout available on my Apple Watch. Can’t say I enjoy taking my phone on 8+ mile runs….

Breast Cancer Corporate America Wife and Mother if 2 says. I am still getting my strength back from my double mastectomy. I am a rising leader in corporate America dedicated to my two very busy kids and husband. I am balancing this while fighting to keep my Christian faith front and center. I am too busy for everything but also too busy not to take care of my health in order to survive what is now and what is still unknown to come. This is a cost effective way to keep me challenged and engaged no matter the weather, day of the week , crazy hour of the morning or strange corner of the world in which I find myself! Thank you! I love the diversity that you bring with this app on every level. One teeny tiny suggestion. I love to work out with all of my family but some of the lyrics are only appropriate for a workout between me and my husband😊😉. Would love it if that could be adjusted❤️✌🏽

No more boring workouts. I love that I can find any workout to fit my schedule/mood/routine on Aaptiv. I used to find myself in ruts when I was bored and tired and didn’t know what workout I wanted to do. Usually the workouts I would do on these days wasn’t very beneficial. Now I can find something that fits my needs on Aaptiv and know I’m getting something out of it. I also save time since the trainer guided workouts include music and I can download them so my workout isn’t interrupted by lack of signal or I spend more time putting together a playlist than working out. Being able to create a saved list of workouts also helps me to save tons of time. My only complaint is that I can’t access anything from a desktop. I can’t have my phone at work but sit at a computer and would love to use some of the meditation and stretching workouts as well as to plan my upcoming workouts from my desk.

Great! But quick math required for non-Americans. This app is excellent. I kept seeing it pop up on Facebook and thought I’d give it a try. I am a relatively unfit person and have never been able to run any distance without feeling puffed out. But this app really gets you motivated and the songs are awesome. It feels like the trainers are really there with you and want you to achieve as much as you do. The only downside is for people that don’t use miles. If on a treadmill, they want you to change your mph quite a lot and you require some quick math to get the mph to kmph fast enough to keep up. I downloaded a conversion chart and it’s best that others do as well!

Sort the watch compatibility. I love this app but I keep starting a workout, my watch registers that I’m doing an Aaptiv workout and tracks it (it would seem) but once it’s over I look on me watch workouts and health app and it’s recorded a 3 second indoor run with no cals burnt? Seems stupid but it’s so frustrating doing 40 mins hard graft and your app doesn’t register the workout on my Apple Watch? Sort it out.

Bad experience. I tried to cancel my subscription through the app before the 30 day trial was up (I didn’t even use the app for 1 workout during that time) and got a message that there was no subscription. Thinking I was organised and happy to move forward with life, I forgot all about it. That is until they took the money from credit card anyway. And not ones for a month by month type subscription- we’ll take a whole year from you straight up. Customer service advises that I needed to cancel my subscription prior to the trial finishing via ‘any means’. Any means other than their actual app. Apparently could’ve emailed or told them on Facebook. Seems to me like a money grubbing way to do business, but apparently that’s how they work. Be aware...

Great App for overall fitness. Love this app, great variety of workouts. Would be handy if you didn’t have to use miles however that’s not the end of the world. This app provides great motivation. Highly recommend !!

Not what it used to be. I first purchased aaptiv in around Jan 18. I used it to get me back into running and through my first ever half marathon. They took fitness and athleticism seriously, as well as catering to a more beginner market. Less than 18 months later it’s a shell of its former self. No more running training programs of any length or substance, no technical trainers and hundreds of workouts removed over the last few weeks. Anyone who was mid way through a marathon or 10k program, tough luck. Speculation is that they are preparing to sell or go public or something. Speculation because communication from aaptiv has been woeful. Either way it’s lost it’s magic for me and I won’t be renewing.

Challenges you to work harder. I've been using this app for about a week and have already run further and run faster than I though was possible for me. Keeps you challenged and moving forward. Recommended!

Downloaded workouts being erased. I’ve been using aaptiv for amost 5 yrs now and at first i was happy with it but now im frustrated with the app. It keeps on removing my downloaded workouts even though i just downloaded it. It makes me want to stop my subscription and look for a different similar workout app. Aaptiv please do something about this!

Great coaches, not enough runs, buggy app. Love Ackeem and Michelle. Addicted to the running programs but need more. So disappointed when the app stats don’t register workouts or gets distance wrong. I just did a 6 mile run and the app has registered 1.9. Please fix.

Overrated. The app delivers what it says it does basically. But the trainers are hard to hear over the music, it’s unclear when you are supposed to start exercises because the trainers just babble on, and a lot of the exercises are really bad for your back and shoulders and really should be done by beginners without supervision. I wouldn’t recommend this app. It’s an injury waiting to happen.

Best thing I've ever paid for!. Such a great app! Completely seeing my body change and this is coming from someone that was in the gym at least 5 days a week prior to this app with little results. Ray W always delivers! So motivational and pushes to that next bevel!

Major issues with buffering. The concept of this app is great. However, I have a major frustration with how every workout buffers about every minute and then replays the last 30 seconds of what you've heard. Spin classes would be great if they would buffer and there is no point in doing the yoga unless you are experienced.. there is no explanation on how to do the moves nor any diagrams.

The best of the best!!. I’ve been using Aaptiv daily for almost two years now. This app is so good that I have cancelled my membership!! The spin classes, running coaching, strength training are fantastic - the coaches are inspiring, knowledgeable and make you push hard! Can’t rate them or the app highly enough.

Awesome app for Cardio!. Awesome app for motivation on the cardio machines and for your general body weight movements however I have given the app 3 stars as it would be really great if they could include demonstrations of some of the weight exercises! I find myself having to listen to the weight workouts first and then having to Google some of the movements they are referring to so I can complete the workout correctly. Worth the money though, my very own pocket personal trainer!

Need a Marathon Race Day session. I’m currently training for a Marathon and I’m using Meg’s program after using Rochelle’s Half Marathon training program. Can you pleeeeeease make a Marathon race day session? The Half Marathon race day session was sooo helpful and the Marathon training program feels incomplete without a session to finish it.

Great trainers and keeps me motivated. After many years (and two babies), I was struggling to get into exercising - it was not helped that I didn’t have access to a gym or much equipment. But then I stumbled across Aaptiv! Couldn’t recommend it more - I love it. Variety of programs, sessions - great trainers, who really push me and keep me motivated. I’m now about 4 months in and exercise at least 5 times a week (not to mention around 15kg lighter)! Also just started a meditation program in Aaptiv and liking that too. My only wish is for more of the programs to be ‘equipment free’, many include treadmill work outs which is not possible for me!

Life changing!. We live in the middle of no where in Australia and Aaptive has allow us to continue training in such a variety of ways that’s interesting and challenging. Aaptive helped me to achieve my first marathon last year too!!!! Could not have done this without Aaptive! Thank you! We always recommended it to all our friends

Love it but.... I love this app and it has really helped me get into running. My only criticism is that I wish the app also had a metric system. I find it a little bit inconvenient having to covert from mph to kph during my runs. Other than that, it’s great and I’d highly recommend this to anyone wanting to start running :)

Love fading fast. I’ve loved Aaptiv for almost two years excellent coaches excellent choice challenges and support I’ve lost 30kgs and you guys have been by my side all the way. I’m really sad with the music changes and it makes me not want to turn to you each morning. Instead of real songs by real artists I can sing along to we now have lift or Seattle to store music which doesn’t match the coaches discussion points at all it feels disconnected and cheap. Honestly I’d pay more for the real music if that was an option not sure why you have gone down this route. I know for some I can choose the Aaptiv curated music which still matches but for more and more it is bland unmatched musak and I’m hating it please tell me this isn’t permanent?

Would give it 5 stars but. Honestly this app is amazing. The selection of workout is amazing and how you can pick a work out the target a certain area. The trainers are amazing and the music is well suited. I downloaded this app and instantly feel in love and I was definitely going to take out a subscription if it was around $10 a month. I can not fault the app. Now this is where you lose the 1 star. I already go to a gym so paying an additional $20 a month is out of my budget and to get the the discount you have to cough up a large some. It’s just a pity because I wouldn’t hesitate paying $10 a month for 12 months.

Great. Love the concept although the Imperial measurements don’t work outside of North America. It also seems a bit dumb that you subscribe to the app and you can’t immediately choose your workout you have to do starter classes that you can’t bypass. It’s only a small thing but considering I have paid for full access would expect full access immediately. Apart from those two things, I think it’s awesome and a great addition to the market

Use it almost everyday!. I love this app! All the trainers are so great and have awesome variety of classes! The one thing that got me with this app and why I only rated 4 is because when I did the free trail it cost money to do the trail, then it was too hard to cancel the subscription that I missed out on canceling it and the money got taken out. So I ended up with the year subscription without really wanting it but I am happy with that now. I definitely recommend using this app to anyone who needs a little help or gets nervous doing it on their own, but not sure if I will resubscribe. It needs to be easier to cancel the subscription.

Very motivating fitness app. I have tried a few paid fitness apps and Aaptiv is by far the best. Even if I am not in the mood of doing a workout, I just start one, and the trainers push me and I end up having a great sweat session each time. I find the new instructional videos for strength training are quite helpful. I live in the metric world, so I have to convert all the treadmill speeds to km/hr. Without doubt the best app I have!

So good!. Definitely worth it. The music's great, the coaches are awesome (Ray is my fave!) and the classes have great variety. I've been using the app for about a month, 3-4 times a week and I look forward to every session. Really great tool if you're like me and need a little push to get going :)

Good but could be great. Good choice for all fitness levels but pictures or gifs for exercises would be helpful, especially for beginners. For cardio classes an option to have the class recorded with speeds in km instead of miles would be helpful as I ended my subscription due to this as it took away from my training when I was converting the speeds all the time. Love how you can pre download!

WAS Brilliant - recent music changes awful. This was my favourite app for exercise and motivation. Coaches brilliant and used music to motivate and push, which you could download when out of wifi service. But not so now, any of the workout you can download but not the music. If you are in service the music does not match the coaching. So when they say” sprint when the beat drops” there is no drop. I loved this app and recommend but so dissatisfied with the update. Come on Aaptiv pleaee hear your customers

Not for me but may be for you. I need music to run, I find with music I can zone out and enjoy my surrounds. I thought having a personal trainer along would be good and if you are motivated by this then this app would be perfect for you but alas not for me. Also I expected less talking and more music but obviously that reflects my personal preference.

Absolutely brilliant app, but one accessibility issue. As a person with a vision impairment, I was so excited to find this app. I only downloaded it the other day and subscribed, so haven’t had a chance to use it to its full potential yet. The app is 99% accessible. The only issue is that VoiceOver does not provide any feedback when you are doing your weekly plan and selecting which days you want to perform workouts. The programs and browser tabs are accessible, but can be a little bit fiddly and somebody with minimal screen reader experience May struggle a little bit.

Don’t know what I’d do without it!. This is the perfect app if you need flexibility in your exercise routine and so much variety. Great trainers, great classes, very responsive personnel on their Facebook page. You won't regret getting this app!

Best gym buddy. I love using this app - it is such a great app to get started and gain motivation and momentum! Love all the instructors - its been a month (free trial) but I am definitely going to purchase it. The workouts are fantastic and really helps you stay motivated. The music and the workouts make it fun! Thanks Team Aaptiv!

Best Training app I have come across!. This is literally the best app one can design. There are personal trainers that would talk to you while training, you can pick your personal trainer and it really helps you push to your extreme and work out the best you can! I love this so much! It also recommends to you what you should do next like streches and all! It’s superb. It’s like a personal trainer in your pocket wherever you go and whatever you decide to do, you can also choose the intensity and style of music you like! Epic!!!

It’s decent.. Exercise aspect is great, maybe having an option to turn off the Aaptiv music so you can use your own would be good, because I hate the music Aaptiv use. Have equipment filters. Not everyone owns a fit ball. Have body party filters too. Thanks

What trial?. I signed up for a 30 day trial that my friend sent me however I was immediately billed for 1 year at full retail. I went through the website and found that all billing disputes are to be directed to the App Store. After going through the dispute process via the App Store, this item is non refundable. Be warned if you are to sign up for a 30 day trial on iPhone that there is no confirmation of purchase screen that shows you how much or when you will pay, only a field to enter credit card details. Cheers

Folders for saved workouts?. I love Aaptiv! I’m active but find my job can sometimes make it difficult to maintain a routine as I prefer doing instructed group training at the gym. The app makes it easy to bring a trainer along to the hotel gym with me when I’m travelling for work or holidays! I first used Aaptiv for the Spin classes last year but have moved into rowing and I’m loving the strength classes at the moment! The yoga is great too. As the gym in my apartment doesn’t get mobile reception, I need to download the workouts before I head in there. This has meant that all my Spin, Row, Strength and Yoga workouts are all mixed up in my downloads. It would be great if there was a feature to file by type of workout or by trainer or workout time into a folder to find easily rather than scrolling down a list of all of my downloaded workouts? Thanks for such a great workout app!

Awesome. After losing weight using a similar system years ago...on cassette tape I might add I’ve been waiting for this type of system for ages!! So happy I have the guidance of speed and tempo in my ear, along with encouragement and great tunes. Thank you Aaptiv

Trainers are excellent, but that’s testament to them, not the app. UX for the app is atrocious, it often fails to sync with my Apple Watch and the search functionality is probably 10 years behind where apps should be with their search capabilities. I can’t see workouts that I had planned for previous days if they’re a part of my calendar and often there will be an issue with the sound starting meaning I need to restart the workout a few times to get things going. The only thing keeping me from cancelling my subscription is that Apple Fitness+ doesn’t have audio workouts. Once they have them, I’m out.

Expensive but worth it. I can now pay the cheapest 24/7 fitness membership and enjoy any class I want any time of the day or night. At $15 Australian it’s probably $5 a month too expensive but I persevere because you get real music, great trainers and what feels like unlimited options.

Cannot see exercises while doing them. Sorry guys but the Nike training club app which is FOC is far advanced to this bought app as you can follow the exercises on screen while doing them and don’t have to choose between watching a timer or doing the exercise. If you can combine it like they have I won’t regret paying for yours!

Greatest Fitness App HANDS DOWN!. I started using Aaptiv when I was starting to plateau with my weight loss and struggling to come up with fitness goals. I downloaded the app without high expectations with only the thought that at least I wouldn’t have to do my own workout “planning”. How happily surprised was I that the trainers were enjoyable to listen to, had great music, & were strangely motivating (seeing as they were simply voices coming out of my phone). There’s so much variation and you’ll find yourself quickly finding your favourite trainers. This app has helped me lose weight, become faster, stronger and built my endurance. Thanks Aaptiv!

App keeps crashing!. I have sent Aaptiv numerous emails asking for help! My app has constantly been crashing, they continue taking money out but I get no help for the issues with the app! This is been happening for two weeks and still no response! People please be aware of this app

Best fitness app I've used!. This app has it all- there's something for everyone. I've used many fitness apps, and this is by far the best one! Good for beginners, or anyone looking to kick things up a notch in their fitness life.

Awesome **highly recommend **. I've used this app since it began and LOVE LOVE it, can't go without it and it just keeps getting better!! Honestly ditch the gym fees and get this for a fraction of that cost!! A personal trainer at your beck and call 😉 thanks aaptiv you guys rock ( especially candice)

Shocking operations proceed with caution. Aaptiv will continue to attempt to take funds from a credit card you’ve removed from your account, resulting in dishonour fees. Lengthy attempts to get this resolved via support team. They’ll throw courtesy periods at you but won’t lift the block from your account. They can’t provide evidence they removed my credit card detail from their Payment systems after I cancelled my membership. When asked they disconnect my support chat. Finally getting through, they don’t delete your info including credit card, you have to request this and it can take 30 days...

Perfect friends for cardio. Perfect app that gives me too much more motivation. Was really tired when doing cardio for long time, now I have friends to talk to me on my path. Highly raated.

App doesn’t work on iPhone. I purchase this app and joined a program however the close button on the top left hand corner is in a position that is overlaid by the phone time and you can’t close the program page and return to the main app functionality It’s really annoying that I have to remove the app and re-download it every time I want to use it

Fantastic. Just finished my free trial and will definitely be paying to continue! The trainers are super fun and motivating, the soundtracks are great and I can always find the perfect workout to suit what I want to do that day. 5 stars, highly recommended. One thing that could be added is pictures or videos demonstrating the exercises, some could be hard to follow if you're unfamiliar with the equipment

stole my money. I originally thought this was a great app, I loved the features and the variety of workouts. But last night after my 30 day trial finished, $140 for a yearly subscription was taken out of my account without permission, and I am appalled with the dishonesty of this app. I can confirm I will no longer be using this app because I do not want to support an organisation that steals money from its customers.

Great. I really like this app. Very helpful for someone that has never been to the gym before. I just think that some videos would be helpful especially when trying to get the correct form

Great, but a couple of small drawbacks.. I’ve found this app great so far, I really like the variety of classes available and find the trainers really encouraging. The only drawbacks I’ve found is it’s sometimes hard to hear the trainer’s instructions over the music, and if you miss it you have to interrupt you workout and rewind a bit to listen again. It’d be great if there were volume controls for voice and music separately. Also, twice now I’ve started a workout that is tagged as a ‘beginner’ workout, but during the class the trainer mentions it’s an ‘intermediate’ class. There should be a way to provide specific feedback at the end of a class rather than just a star rating so these issues can be identified. Both times I didn’t want to stop the workout, so I ended up modifying some of the harder exercises because I am actually a beginner, and while I absolutely want to challenge myself, if I’ve chosen a beginner workout, I expect it to be for beginners and to actually be able to complete it properly.

The perfect app. This app allows me to be anywhere I want in the world and do all kinds of workouts from calming yoga, to a session of meditation, to a high calorie-burning quick workout. Each workout I’ve completed seems structured and planned so that you don’t get bored or frustrated which I really appreciate. Thanks!

LOVE IT and it totally gets you to the gym!. I love this app! I usually hate exercise and have no idea what to do. But Aaptiv has really helped me. I wasn’t going to pay to subscribe, but after using my trial everyday, I’m hooked! I now love going, I have my favourite trainers and saved workouts! It’s easy to use and offers lots of different types of workouts for different kinds of people’s needs. Do yourself a favour and download it!

Super Disappointed. This new update has garbage music. None of the workouts match tempos anymore. Not motivating at all. Going to be messaging to see if I can get a refund on my remaining months.

Nope. I bet I would’ve loved this app but they’re sponsored by a racist, homophobic, transphobic and sexist boy on TikTok I could never support an app that supports people like that

It just not the same anymore.. AAPTIV was an outstanding app for running training. A while ago there was an update. It has not been the same since. The third party music and some training sessions not compatible with a watch is very disappointing. It just not the same.

Made for a busy life. I have no time in my life and this app is the only thing that makes me to stay active and healthy

More sport related classes. Workouts are generally good. Wish there were more sport-specific training workouts like boxing circuits, and more with gym equipment other than dumbbells

Liking it but.... During stretches and cool downs it would be good to have at least a photo of the moves being described. Some don't know what child pose or cobra is.

Work out good, but apple watch problems. I really like the workouts in Apptiv, but the only problem I recently encountered is that, the app on my apply watch one run properly. Sometimes the app won’t open, and if it does it just stays at the screen about downloading your favourite workout.

Feeling it. I'm new to exercising and this is a great way to keep me going honestly. I've tried before tons of times and just given up after 5-10 minutes. Playlists were good and really enjoying the pep!

Very overrated. 1 - as far as a training app goes, it’s pretty bad. Trainers vary from OK to awful. Routines are blah. I prefer my own playlists as well. 2- the 7 day refund is a scam if you buy it through iTunes. I cancelled after 1 day (all I need to know it was pretty bad) but iTunes says it not eligible for a refund. Incredibly misleading by Aaptiv not to clearly disclose that.

Terrible app. I hate this app my dance teacher makes us use it everyday and I’m done with it.

Good Variety. For someone who gets bored doing the same exercises at the gym, this app is great! I use it in my weekly routines as well as fitness classes and trainer assigned weight exercises.

Wish there was kickboxing!. I love this app because it’s versatile and I can use it anywhere. Saves time figuring out what to do - just hit play! Only thing missing for me is kickboxing classes. I think they had shadow boxing briefly and I was psyched about it. Hope you bring it back! Then this would be a 5 star for me as I’d be able to use it for everything.

A trustworthy fitness companion!. I’ve been using Aapiv for more than five years. Starting from a fitness newbie to a seasoned marathoner, I always incorporate Aapiv workouts in my training programs. The tread workouts are my favorites. They are challenging enough if you are shooting for Boston Marathon qualification. I also use them during off seasons to stay in shape. The variety in lengths and types are superb. The strength workouts and programs improved over the years too. Perfect to use to train at home or at the gym if you enjoy working out alone. Can’t recommend more. Love the app and the community it builds ❤️

Worth every penny. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in years. The audio prompts are clearer than any class I’ve attended so my postures have improved dramatically and my ability to scale up without injury has increased as well. This is the first time I’ve paid for an app and this isn’t cheap but it’s worth a dozen gym memberships.

Great Tool For Weight Loss. Updating this review. Aaptive has gone down over the years. Old favorite trainers have left and new ones have arrived. Levels have been replaced with “All Level” programs that force you to figure out the training on your own. And length of programs have dropped. Very disappointing in the direction they’ve gone with the programs in the app. Was a 5 star app, now more like 3 at most. ——- I went from 300 lbs to 180 lbs and a big part of that was the classes and motivation from Aaptiv. Lots of classes that vary in intensity, time, distance, speed, and focus. The coaching and music selection are top notch. For those who want something different in their workout routine to help keep them motivated, I can’t recommend Aaptiv enough.

This App is a Scam!!. I downloaded the app months ago and received an email from Self Magazine that they were doing a 1 month fitness challenge. The challenge let you sign up for 1 month free. I just got a charge on my visa as I was somehow subscribed to the app without knowing. Contacted customer service and they would not give me a refund because "their payment processor and accounting system doesn't support it" which is total BS. Any app that signs you up for subscriptions without knowing is a scam! There's no place on the app either that says your subscribed. It was also charged in US funds on my credit card which increased the price! Total scam, stay far away!! Shame on you people!!!!!

Update Killed the app. Complete Garbage.. I loved this app. Then they went and updated it. Removed amazing workouts like Hamilton . And now you Have to pick a music track to go over the trainers voice, which is so stupid!!! You can do a Missy Elliott workout, except you can’t listen to Missy Elliott. I am deleting this app after my subscription runs out. The updates killed this app.

iOS issues. Beware! This app will not show up in your subscriptions on your iOS device. They direct bill you (not Apple). When you try to go to their customer support they give you the support line for Apple. Because Apple doesn’t charge you they can not manage it.

**terrible service** May never go back to the gym. **wow! - I have been using this app but circumstances have changed. I was automatically recharged without an e mail that my membership automatically renews. When I asked for a refund and to cancel they refused to refund me but will happily cancel my app? What gives!? This is a pandemic and times are tough! This is terrible customer service and I hope others are aware of this scam to auto renew without notice! ** Since the pandemic started, and I was 3 months postpartum I’ve been using Aaptiv. I can get in a workout 5 days a week and love the programs mixed with different workouts to whatever I’m feeling. The workouts seem endless! Love that it’s audio so I can take my mini speaker and work out anywhere— a requirement with a toddler on the move! The trainers are great and it feels like they are right there with you! They know when to put the push on when you feel like quitting.

Latest Update. App not working on Apple Watch since latest update.

The app is Lgbt supportive. They took action against a transphobic creator that they unintentionally sponsored. Good job

Used to be great. I used to love this app but the latest update to music ruined it, the curated playlists that matches the tempo are gone. I think they cheaper out and moved from mainstream music to a cheap source

Doesn’t work with Apple Watch. They took alway the Apple Watch feature, don’t waist your time and money. They really don’t care... really expensive subscription with poor features and experience. Update an app making better taking a great feature like that , what a joke.

App erasing downloaded files. I like to use this App for jogging and meditation. However this App is a real painful experience! At least once a month it erases all my download on my watch! Everytime i have to hit download, often runing my workout because i was counting that the workout was downloaded and ready for use! I will cancel and never renew, too frustrating!

Aaptiv. Lovvveeeee it! So motivating, so helpful! Love having someone there encouraging you the whole time.

Changed my life. My favourite app for workouts, meditation and yoga. I really love the walking meditations because you can do them as you're going about your day. This app has seriously changed my life. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a new best version of you, give yourself the gift of Aaptiv.

Don’t Download it. Worst kind of app you have. Even charge you even you cancel it within 7 days. It’s 3rd month, have cancelled my credit card and apple account to stop them. Exercises are same as any other free app - Nike training, Bodyweight, Fitness buddy all are way superior free apps. Don’t waste your money. At the end good diet, regular gym and staying focus gonna get you where ever you want, Get Free apps or even follow instagram bodyweight something page that’s all you need.

Worth the money. I have been using this app for five years now and it has truly never let me down. I love working out but always found planning workouts to time consuming and annoying. With Aaptiv there’s always a new workout for me to try with the exact style/time/equipment/coach/intensity I need on any given day. Honestly don’t know what I would do without it. Only downside is the new update which changed the way music is formatted; best to use the “Aaptiv curated filter” so that the audio matches the music.

Can’t get past survey. Would like to experience this app but there is a glitch where I am unable to add my birthday…1 star until fixed as can’t use this app at all. Useless

Include Nonaptiv workout in Log. Non apptiv Workouts don’t log into the totals. Would be nice to use the app to keep track of entire workout.

Don’t waste your money!!!. Even if it’s free in the app store, you still have to pay for the workouts with a monthly subscription. If you truly think people are gonna lose weight, especially students who are broke to use this app you are wrong. Students don’t have that kind of money to spend on an app that will tell them to run or do some stretches. I am saying this because at least make some things free, but nah, you have to get the monthly or yearly subscription. Don’t get this app, there are so many out there that are better than this scam. Oh ya plus false advertisement that’s low even for an app that is the “app of the day.” The 1 year + money back guarantee is fake, many reviews have been saying the same thing. Do not waste your money, there are many other apps that are better and are free!!! you shouldn’t pay that much money for your own health.

Does NOT give you a free month. Don’t be fooled. It asks for your credit card info, assures you that I won’t charge for the first 30 days, and then 2 seconds later you have an $18 charge on your card for some ridiculous app you don’t even know if you’ll use. Deeply annoyed.

Sponsors a racist homophobe. This company needs to pay better attention to who their sponsoring and having promote their app.

Good but missing the original playlists.. I preferred when the workout programs had music built in. I thought that having music chosen by the trainers was such a cool feature and often trainers reference the music they originally chose. I dont take the classes where you aren't given the option to select the aaptiv curation anymore...the other playlists feel completely random, redundant and unassociated with the workout. Its fine to offer them, but keep the original playlists available PLEASE. The originals are SO much better. Otherwise the app is great. With the original playlists back for all programs, I would give 5 stars.

Big Fan Long Time User. I’ve been using this App for about 6 1/2 years. When I first began it was great! Great workouts, new ones added regularly and the programs were amazing. Steadily over the last 2 years it has gone down hill. The workouts won’t complete once you’ve done them, it’s once in a blue moon that new stuff is added and the glitches are becoming too much for the money you pay. Also, customer service/ tech support is not overly helpful, which just adds to the frustration.

Music change ruined this app. I get the idea behind giving users the option to pick what music they want to listen to but when most trainers on the workouts base their coaching off the beats of music that you CANT choose it’s ruined! Missy Elliot workout but can’t choose missy Elliot playlist? Fire whoever decided this update was a good idea. Give the option to use the aaptiv curated playlist, the one the trainer is speaking about and basing cues off of. This was the main thing that set this app apart.

Scam. The “free preview” cost money stay away

Keeps crashing after recent update!. Love the app but after the recent update it keeps crashing on my phone! I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app and turning my phone on and off, but nothing works.

Love it!. Great app. Tons of variety in workouts and programs. Wish they would add a cardio section for the rowing machine.

Won't stop charging me even after I cancelled. Support is non-existant and can't actually speak to anyone to get them to refund me as I cancelled the app before my "free trial" ended. The app is not worth it.

Terrific app. I don’t normally write reviews (really) but I live this app everything from running to meditation Music and encouragement is great. Literally can workout anywhere from 10 minutes to over 2 hours if you want. Fantastic treadmill and spin classes and great stretching too. Even sleep meditation can not recommend it enough worth every penny my third year to subscribe

The best. Hands down the best fitness app out there and I’ve tried them all. Quality instruction, great variety of workouts and diverse goal focused selections. I’ve been a daily user for 2 years and despite the cost, won’t give this up.

Helps keep me motivate. This app has helped to keep me motivated with my running and core workouts! I've found it really useful and while I don't normally pay for apps, I find this app worth the monthly fee. I only wish that the playlists for each workout were posted as well as sometimes the music sucks. I also wish a written description of the specifics of the workouts were posted within each description so I could see ahead of time exactly what was involved for reps and sets or pace and intervals before starting on a class.

Charged my credit card after I cancelled. I cancelled over 6 months ago and they just charged my credit card for another year! Total scam.

Was 4 Stars. Then they added choose your own music... sounds great right? Wrong. The beats don’t line up with the trainers now. Throws the whole workout off. The trainers used to pick the perfect music. Now it just sucks. Seriously thinking about dropping my subscription which sucks.

No Good Music. I used to love this app, I’ve been using it for years (since 2016/2017) and it has helped me stay on track and really kill my fitness goals. But they recently made changes to the music and it doesn’t let you listen to the original playlist curated by the trainers for your workout - it used to give you the option to pick the original music or another genre which was great, had something for everyone. Now the original playlist option is gone and every workout I’ve tried (with every possible genre options) doesn’t match the tempo of the workout or most of the workout cues. It’s turned something I loved into the most frustrating task and on top of that it only allows you to skips 6 songs per hour (even though you’re already paying a subscription fee for the app??). Honestly such a major disappointment music is a major motivator for a lot of people - going to have to find a new workout app with all the gyms closed or try and figure it out on my own.

Removed a lot of workouts without notice. Cancelled my subscription but was suddenly billed again. Do not download this app.

Great motivation. I use mostly the spin and yoga workouts but also find the running and elliptical good. For those I sometimes need to increase the resistance or speed to make it challenging but otherwise great. Perfect way to push yourself since all you have to go is choose a workout and you're committed.

Not a fan of the music update. I wish they would let us choose the app curated playlist for every workout !! Trainers base their music off the music and wish we could choose it! Besides that I love the workouts, as the variety keeps my interested and on my toes; just wish the music would sync :)

I am in love. This app has taken my fitness to a whole new level and I am seeing results I have been looking for well worth it!

Just needs a couple extra features. I love Aaptiv. I NEVER pay for apps, but after the free trial I decided to keep the monthly membership. The talk vs music ratio is perfect for al the workouts I’ve done. I am leaving this review for the sake of giving suggestions for the next update. I have a couple things that would make usage easier, but overall I love the concept. 1- a search feature (for example, if I want to search “lower body” when browsing the stretch category) 2- the ability to bookmark a category to the top (for example, I am following the half marathon plan and have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list each time I open the app) 3- is it possible to have a louder audio option? My iPhone on full blast is still only so-so with the background noise of a treadmill and a busy gym.

Will Scam You. I downloaded this app to try over Christmas break on a free trial, and found that I really didn't care to hear someone talking at me while I was working out, so I cancelled my subscription (before the trial ended) and deleted the app. Imagine my surprise when, upon returning to school in January, I found $100 missing from my account for a cancelled subscription! I emailed customer support, since there is no phone number to call, and waited two days for a response. They basically said they weren't giving me any money back because the transaction had already gone through, but hey they won't charge me next year! I responded and again explained that there must have been a system error because I had cancelled my subscription. I requested a phone number to speak to a customer service representative. I never received a response. I understand that some people have wonderful results on this app, and if I had the money for it or enjoyed using it I wouldn't really mind. However, this horrible service

Love App. I think this app is very good overall and I have enjoyed using it. The coaches discuss proper technique, tips, motivation and encouragement. My main gripe is that you can’t filter by sub category, for example when looking in the outdoor running category, you can’t filter to recovery or endurance runs versus walking or tempo runs. So if your looking for a specific sub category you have to look through all the options (and there are many). You can filter by time, level and coach but I find more often than not I care more about finding a specific type of run as opposed to a length or specific coach. Also, they tend to cycle through content fairly quickly. I love that they add new content so frequently but don’t like that programs are removed. I will find a favourite that I love using and then it’s gone (I wouldn’t mind the occasional removal but it happens a bit too often). Overall these are very minor issues and I would still highly recommend this app to anyone who likes having more structure to their workouts without needing to be part of a class. I’ve been using it multiple times a week for over a year now and am still very happy with it and the improvements they have been making.

This app is a game-changer.. I’m someone who struggles with self-starting. I was a competitive athlete through all of my childhood, teenagehood, and college career. I’m someone who thrives off of coaching mentorship, positive reinforcement, guided and supervised workouts. I loved running track in college, but took a major hiatus after graduating and had trouble getting back into the running shape I was in. This app absolutely brings me back to the track with a coach in my ear pushing and encouraging me. This has truly brought the motivation and excitement back into running. I’m so thankful for this app and the trainers it features. I haven’t come across a workout I didn’t enjoy. The trainers are so motivating and inspiring. The content is not only fitness-based, but also life-based. They endorse self-reflection and ask thought-provoking questions. They’re also just lighthearted and funny. The user experience of the app is excellent as well. Easy to navigate, clean, user-friendly. Being able to add a workout to my phone calendar has allowed me to plan weeks of workouts in advance. I don’t have to scroll through each workout I want before my session — it’s already chosen for me. Just a generally awesome app and really awesome trainers!

Horrible customer service. While the actual app is pretty good, the customer service is horrible. I got a month free, and liked the different styles and music. I sustained a back injury at work and haven’t been able to work out for quite some time, I just let my month trial end and thought that was it. Until I looked at my bank statement that said I was charged 9.99 THREE MONTHS AFTER my free trial ended. I contacted customer service, which they then just sent an automated response saying it was resolved because it was on an Apple phone. I had to screenshot that my account wasn’t active to make them respond again, saying they would take care of it. 2 weeks later, no refund. I contact them again and get a response saying they escalated my request for special attention and someone would be in touch shortly....24 hours ago. The app is convenient, but not worth the hassle. (I know it’s only $10, but to charge me 3 months AFTER I stopped using the app is ridiculous)

Could be more perfect, but already pretty close to perfect. I honestly look forward to working out now. The app is fun, and all the trainers are different, so you can always choose the type of trainer you work best with. I wish you were able to write notes for yourself when you save a workout. I keep forgetting which of my saved workouts is which. And while you’re able to run searches with different criteria in the main sections, I wish you were able to do the same within your own folders. Ultimately, though, I love this app. It’s less expensive than the gym membership I wasn’t going to use anyway, I can use it anytime I want, and doing the workouts in my own home makes me less nervous to try new things because no one’s there to see me look dumb. Seriously, it’s great.

Glitchy!. I have been a five star reviewer of Aaptive in the past. About seven or so years ago it was my favorite app. Quality has gone downhill. The music change is great in theory, but bad for workouts where the creator use the playlist to map out the work. The new AI is driving me absolutely insane. I was so excited to kind of have it. I’m not a huge AI fan honestly, but the personalization was a big seller for me. However, there’s been once where it just refused to track that I did the work out I ended up quitting the program and restarting because it messed up my streak. And now I’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes trying to get my workout to work. It counts down to the first exercise and then it’s nothing but music. I’m so frustrated. I even tried skipping the first exercise and it’s just not working. Even at half price this app is now a rip off.. I’m actually really sad because again it was my favorite workout app and I don’t even know where to go from this one. I probably will not be re-subscribing.

Hate The New Music Options. After years of referring friends, family and coworkers to this app, I’m very disappointed and will be unsubscribing very soon if this is not fixed. I use the Elliptical workouts several times per week and what I liked better than any other tv/phone workouts is the detailed choreography by some very talented trainers (JT is the best!) I’m all for giving people a choice, but that choice should extend to the original play list that the trainers built the workouts on. I have tried to workout to two different music “choices” and they were both ridiculous. The songs would end and change in the middle of a “push” and there would be “drops” when you should take a few seconds to rest. And heads up, the trainers mention the artists by name and it is clear that isn’t the artist playing. Give us the “choice” to choose the original music or I (and others by looking at the reviews) will pass on this app to something different.

Was loving it, now a little disappointed.. A month or so ago I would have given Aaptiv 5 stars and a gushing review. I’ve told so many people about it and strongly encouraged them to check it out. But now I’m kind of bummed because some of the features I loved the most (rowing workouts, longer cardio and yoga workouts) are being removed. I am not a beginner - I want long, difficult, high intensity cardio and long, comprehensive yoga for active recovery. The good: all the trainers are great, the verbal descriptions are perfect, the addition of the form visuals are a great enhancement, variety is (was) fantastic, music selection is great, app is easy to use. Th me bad: I wouldn’t have had anything to put here a month ago but I’m really bummed about the longer workouts being removed, and rowing removed entirely. I’m pretty angry considering I paid a year’s subscription specifically because of those features and now they aren’t available anymore.

Eh.... A friend of mine and these reviews convinced me to buy a membership. Unfortunately most of these workouts are for people with access to a gym. I workout from home with a couple weights but I don’t have access to big equipment like treadmills or exercise bikes so half of this app is useless for me. I’ve tried to focus on the strength training programs and some are good. I have a couple I keep going back to. But I’ve also been in a situation a few times where the instructor explains and exercise, I try to do it, I feel weird and think “something’s not right”, stop the program and have to look up the move. Sure enough I’m doing it all wrong. Also I HATE the music on most of these workouts. I would honestly rather no music (or at least have that option) and put on my own stuff. They have an outdoor running option but just thinking about running 30mins listening to Pitbull has me turned off....

I now like cardio!. This app is definitely a good asset for those who dislike cardio, in my opinion. I would run intervals on the treadmill on my own, but I felt like I would slack and I wasn't really sure if I was doing HIIT in a beneficial way. This app is filled with HIIT exercises for treadmill, elliptical and stairs. My only dislike with some of the classes that aren't treadmill related is that it does take time to understand what the instructors are trying to tell you to do. For instance it took me some time to understand what the pigeon pose is for and it wasn't explained that great until I heard a better description in another class. I think that it's also pretty great that you can find which instructors will work best for you, but it will take time to find what works for you. Other than that, I love using it for treadmill and stretching :)

Great training on a budget. Granted I purchased during the New Years sale, but still way cheaper than any of the gyms I have used in the past. I love that I don’t have to drive to the gym anymore. I select an outdoor running session and can just jog right out my front door. And if I don’t want to leave the house there is plenty I can do inside without any equipment. The trainers are very positive and high energy and I found that they were actually helping my push myself. Mostly I love that I can work out free of judgment. As I am new to fitness, I hated being at gym feeling like people were judging my inability to run on the treadmill longer than 5 mins, but with aaptive, I can workout literally anywhere I want and actually feel like I know what I’m doing with a trainer right in my ear.

Best Workout App out there!. Before Aaptiv, I had a difficult staying consistent with workout programs. I like that I’m able to mix up my workouts with this app. I love that I get to decide how long of workout a I want, how intense I want it to be, and what I want to workout (legs, full body, core, flexibility, etc.). There are also plenty of options for whether or not you decide to go to the gym, stay at home, or go outdoors to workout. The instructors keep you motivated while coaching you at the same time. I will admit that there are moves that I don’t understand right away when just listening, but that’s been rare, and usually I’m able to figure it out the second time the instructor reiterates the move, and they usually explain it a couple of different ways. This is one workout app that I haven’t got bored with. I highly recommend it.

Best workout partner. I lost my motivation to work out from being lazy for so long. I tried getting an accountability partner but they kept being flaky. I tried this app for free with the trial, and it really helped. Especially with the cardio portion because I don’t mind lifting weights but I really hated cardio so much. I like a different instructor for each different workout. For example, Mike kills your abs. Meghan and Candice are great for outdoor runs. I like that they update the app with new workouts because I like working out to a new music mix instead of the same predictable music. I like that you can filter by length of workout and genre of music and type of workout. I wish they also had a workout for lifting weights. But other than that a really great workout if you need a workout buddy.

AHHHHHHH!. I love this app. Plain and simple. I fell off the fitness wagon about three years ago, and I’ve been using this app since December to get back into it. My favorite trainer is Jamie. But regardless of who you get with workouts, all of the workouts are great. The trainers and all really supportive and encouraging. They really go above and beyond the automated voice workouts I was using with another app. What I like is that whether you do an advanced workout for an hour or a beginner one for fifteen minutes, the trainer makes you feel like you accomplished something. As someone who is quick to give up on exercise because I feel like I’m not doing enough, I really appreciate it. This app makes me excited to workout and makes it easier to face my weight loss goals.

Would love to see Versaclimber classes added!. This is a fun and useful app with an excellent variety of classes for different kinds of equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and rowing (along with yoga, strength training, etc.). It’s comes in handy for when I am hitting the gym instead of the studio, but there seems to be enough variety (for home exercisers as well (I wouldn’t know personally, because I live in a shoebox that literally cannot accommodate a yoga mat). It’s easy to organize the classes, a complaint I’ve had about comparable apps. Some fun themed classes too (albeit perhaps not the extent to which their marketing collateral might have you believe), and themed collections that aid in new class discovery (90s classes, black history month classes, etc.). My only wish would be for versaclimber classes to get added to the mix!

Great workout app and SO MUCH FUN!. I first had this app back before it was even Aaptiv. I did my free trial and loved it but I was a broke college student and couldn't afford it. A year later I see it pop up on Facebook and when I went to download it to my phone it showed I already had it. So I downloaded it again to do the free trial and I loved all of the updates and everything was much more user friendly and all around better quality of an app. Still being a broke college student I had to buy because every time I turned it on, it brought a smile to my face. The coaches are so encouraging and positive I felt better about myself immediately. I thought about it and a 100 bucks a year really isn't that bad. I decided I would eat out less to be able to pay for it. Finally making better decisions in my life and Aaptiv helped me do that.

Best Audio Fitness App. Aaptiv has seriously changed my life, making it so that even after a long day of work, I can still motivate myself to exercise. Incredibly high quality audio workouts at a fraction of the cost of studio classes, featuring excellent trainers who make themselves readily available for advice and questions through social media. I also really love the supportive online Facebook community of enthusiastic users who I also turn to if I need workout advice. Aaptiv is also really responsive to suggestions provided by users through the Facebook group and many of our suggestions (ie. Rowing classes, ability to create and save workouts) have been incorporated since I started using it! I highly recommend the app, it’s worth every penny!

First Audio Workout App I Ever Found. If a person is blind, it is my experience that it can be difficult to exercise. This is not only because learning the exercises themselves can be tough, but some of the most popular apps systems aren’t meant to work for blind people because they use video. I happened to find this app when looking for an alternative to more well-known services. I am so glad I did because I had thought something like this didn’t exist. While I know it isn’t specifically meant for blind people, it works well for this population as well as the on the go person for whom I originally suspect it was meant to be used by. The set up and variety are both good and the idea to use popular I was of music is also a good one. I think this app is worth trying.

Exactly the push I needed!. The last few years my busy life has stopped me from exercising the way I need to. After gaining 20 pounds I knew something had to change. I have a gym membership but I travel for work, so I needed something that could help me get motivated to work out by myself in any given location. This app is PERFECT for this. I love having a trainer speaking straight into my ears, helping me push myself further than I would ever be able to push myself. Try this app if you want to improve outdoor running, if you want solid work outs to try at your gym (or if you're like me, in a sad-looking hotel fitness room 😉), or in your own living room. They even have meditation classes that I can do while I'm sitting in my tour van. Thank you Aaptiv for giving me my health back!!

Usually a casual runner, but I really find this app motivating. So if you’re on the fence about buying the year subscription, DO IT. I wish I could insert the Shia LaBeouf DO IT gif until you get it. I’m usually struggling to get out of the house and regretting my life because I have time to run, I just never have the motivation. The coaches on aaptiv are amazing. They give me just the right amount to push myself and now I feel better than ever training for my half in the next month and my farther runs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who feels like they need that push and I really always want to come back for more because the music is always different...I was getting real tired of my own running music and this app is great. DO ITTTTT

Best. Ever training app with your own coach throughout. Variety of workouts to specify and tailed what YOU want because only YOU know what YOU need at your fitness level. If not definitely consult a professional, personal trainer or your Family Medicine Physican. Everything from stretching to cardio to meditation to strength training. All here in one package for only $100 a YEAR. That’s not 100 a month but for a WHOLE YEAR. Worth every penny. Coming from a physician who enjoys sharing this app w family, friends and patients! No disclosures. Not employed by them. No kickbacks. Just the truth. In this day and age, if you need something to do at home whether you’re a full time working mother of 4 young kiddos (yours truly) find your balance in mind/body & soul. Aaptiv and their coaches have given me that balance.

Amazing app. I started using Aaptiv about 3 weeks ago. I love it because I can do it anywhere without needing a screen and they use actual music in the work outs. The work outs are fun but challenging and I can always fit one into my day because I can search for how many minutes I want to work out. I also absolutely love the feature that you can see what equipment you will need for the work out. So far I have done hiit, full body strength, stretching, and even walking. I’ve used body weight alone and I’ve used hand weights. I cannot say how much I love this app. Only 2 things I would love if were added. 1. The ability to sync calories burned with MyFitnessPal and 2. To be able to click on weekly progress and see what workouts I did and how many calories I burned.

So impressed!. Wow.. I never write app reviews but I feel compelled to write a review here. This app is such a game changer for my workout routine. I am a boutique fitness class lover, but got tired of paying $30+ per class or $200+ a month for unlimited memberships. I was skeptical of this app in its ability to create a similar high end feel, while providing a solid workout. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only are the teachers engaging and they actually use real music that I like instead of horrible nondescript edm like many fitness videos, but I actually get a tough workout in. You won’t have to worry about getting bored either.. there are so many videos to try. Can’t wait to keep us by Aaptiv, and I’m looking forward to my next class!

Beware. Like "hatethisapp99%" states you will continue to be billed. Was part of a health challenge that gave you a free month, a week into the FREE month I was billed 9.99, contacted them and they reversed the charge and fixed the issue. Made sure to turn off auto renew in iTunes before end of my month, they billed again. Contacted them and they responded with sending me instructions how to cancel via iTunes, sent them proof that the subscription was expired and not renewed. Contact Apple who stated it was cancelled on their end and asked what my bank info stated, I said Aaptiv, they let me know that if my apple acct charged me it would say Apple/iTunes not Aaptiv on my bank transactions and that the charge came directly from Aaptiv. Bottom line don't provide them your billing info and if you do sign up make sure to use a reloadable prepaid card that they can't charge again. TWO stars because the app seems like a good concept but their billing and customer service are horrible.

Inconsistent workout ratings & video cards. I was excited to try this. I’m a runner who’s been wanting to get into cross training. The idea of this sounded great, but after trying it out and doing more research online I’ve decided not to get a membership after the trial. 1. Don’t plan on using the movement cards to teach you the workouts. They seem like a great idea until you realize most of the time exercises don’t even have a card. To me this isn’t even a finished product. 2. After reading about the changes in the app, it sounds like it used to be A LOT better until they axed most of their talent and their videos. I’ve watched some videos from Meg Takacs and it’s crazy that they’d get rid of that kind of trainer. Bottom line, their loyalty to their members and employees is shaky. I’m not putting money into a company that might change their business model again in 3 months and be totally different than what I paid for.

False advertising. You still need to watch the screeen. I just did my first workout with the smart plan and I was very disappointed. Aaptiv was marketed as “just listen, no need to watch an app or video” but that’s exactly what I had to do: watch the screen and video. The instructions to setup for and do the exercise were nonexistent, insufficient or too late. I had to watch the video to know the pace and reps. I was expecting a lot more from the voice over. How do I turn it on so the voice will 1) tell me how to setup for the exercise (ie lie on mat for Superman) 2) give a full comprehensive description on how to do the exercise since the last thing I want to do is memorize exercises 3) say the number of reps and speak the reps so I know the pace ie squats “down 2 3 and up 2 3 and down 2 3, up 2, 3” etc I’m a noob and tgis was frustrating. I kept having to look at the screen and don’t want to memorize anything for next time. It should be easy the first time and it wasn’t

Have used it off and on for years- just okay. The pro’s: When I first started using it, I loved the trainers, the workouts, etc. This is a great app for people trying to get fit who want a guided workout. Ackeem, Kenta, Mary and John make the time fly by. Super motivating! The cons have unfortunately outweighed many of the pros over time. Here are some: super glitchy, the app is constantly buffering. If you use wireless headphones, you may *never* get to do the workout you want. I’ve had to abort many, many workouts because of constant buffering. The “filter” feature doesn’t actually do anything - if you click “upper body” it will spit out about 10 upper body workouts and the rest is a mish-mosh of upper, lower, core, whatever. Also, the strength workouts are pretty predictable: few are weights-only; most include WAY too much HIIT/cardio/plyo/bouncing-around crap for serious strength training. Anyone with injuring or vulnerabilities due to age will have a hard time with the focus on high-impact moves. Lastly: strength training follows a predictable pattern of using a particular set of weights, with no upward progress. These are HIIT workouts, NOT weight training- and they never will be. With Aaptiv you’re always counting seconds, not reps. So what of I did 7 on my right side and 6 on my left…? Asymmetry be damned. All in all: great app for beginners, possibly intermediates.

Works for me!!. I have tried many other workout apps, for in the gym and out of the gym and I find that Aaptiv is the whole package! If I want to go to the gym, I easily go through workouts from this app and can find so many that uses weights and equipment/machines. Or if I want to just stay home or go on a run, aaptiv still has so many options to mix it up and make each work out fun and challenging! No boring “just going through the moves” here! I also love the trainers! I definitely have my favorites, but I love that they all have different personalities and different ways of motivating you, because everyone is different when it comes to being motivated! Thank you so much for this app, and I find that the subscriptions are very affordable and VERY worth it!

This is it! This is “the one” for me!. I am a busy out of shape mom who loves technology and starting new things... so I’ve tried a LOT of fitness apps out there. :) I wasn’t sure about the audio coach thing (I’m a visual learner) but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’ve never felt so immersed in the experience before or had time on the treadmill go by so fast! What is this witchsorcery?! Even the strength workouts are better in audio. I have to look up the exercises ahead of time (I have the worst of memories) but it actually feels so *freeing* to do them on my own at the gym this way. I love Coach Ray! His energy is all kinds of contagious. I just finished a tough workout and it’s hard for me to admit that I am actually looking forward to trying another one tomorrow. Who am I and what have you done to me Aaptiv? 😉

First workout. I’m a 74-year-old man who looks and feels about 54. Until about 10 years ago I was a nationally ranked cyclist, specializing in criteriums. Then a bad knee ended my cycling career, and I eventually had to have a partial knee replacement. I’ve been working out intensively for almost a year now, and have lost over 45 pounds. I alternate between 45-minute intervals on a spin cycle, 45-60 minutes at a steady pace on a treadmill, and 45-minute intervals on an Octane elliptical, and I also lift weights for an hour or more at least twice a week. I’d like to think I’m in pretty good shape. For my first workout with this program I did the “divide and conquer” beginners elliptical program. Much to my surprise I found it to be pretty challenging, and it probably pushed me harder than anything I’ve been doing in the last year. But I really liked it. If that’s a beginner level, I can’t wait to see what the advanced level looks like.

Bring back the original workout playlists!!. I’ve been an Aaptiv member for years (so long that I was a member for years when it was Skyfit!), so it’s really painful to give them such a low rating, but I am SO disappointed with the music change. I heavily use the outdoor running workouts, and almost all of the workouts are tied to the music (pickups, length of time at a certain pace; etc). Initially after the change we were able to use the original playlist, but now I cannot find it on any of my favorite workouts! It is so disconcerting to lose that sync, especially in something like running. I can see how this change might be ok for other types of workouts (strength training, walking, etc) but it is a major bummer. Thinking of trying out Peloton or another app with synced with playlists, but it is so hard to think about leaving the trainers I love. Please bring back the original playlists as an option on all workouts!

Really great for treadmill running but I would like some improvements. I like to run for 20-50 minutes on a treadmill before a strength work out. I’ve been using Aaptiv for the past year for almost every treadmill run I’ve done- they really help to motivate me to go faster or longer than I would typically choose to do on a treadmill. I really wish there was some way I could easily see a log or diary of all the workouts I’ve done as well as having a way to make notations next to those workouts so I know when I’m making improvements. I’ve noticed that I prefer female trainers (maybe because I’m female?) and that I like having instructions for specific settings on the treadmill (instead of being asked to run at 80 percent capacity etc).

Personal improvement. I would not consider this a workout app so much as a life improvement app. This app grants its users access to not only workouts but meditation practices, stretching, yoga, sleep, running, and more. I find the caliber of trainers incredible and hope that the ones on here persist for a long time. I love the ability to join curated programs so that I don’t have to pick and choose each time I want to do something. I had an error with that app where some of the content that I use most was not showing up and Aaptiv’s support reached out to me within the hour even though it was a Friday night. They followed up to ensure that my needs were met. Great app with great customer service.

Purchases without verification. I started the 30 day trial yesterday and my phone accidentally slipped and “the renew subscription button” was hit when not intended to be push and within a second this transaction went through without any verification process. When I went to the contact page to look up a solution for this the contact page was set up in way that would not let me access answers or all the buttons were aligned just so...that I was not able to submit my inquiry. I found this extremely frustrating!!! There should be an email or support center to speak with that is easily accessible and more of a verification process (like enter a password or reverify purchase) before you are allowed to purchase anything in app, as you never know if kids might have the phone or something might accidentally fall! Apps should always have more protection!!! I will absolutely not recommend or use this app in the future.

Used to love. One of those cases where something that was good is now not. One of the reasons I loved Aaptiv is that it offered so many classes that I could do at my own pace when I felt like it. I did not want the constant offers of help that I get at the gym or to feel pushed in any way. I also loved that I could save the workouts I liked and do them again. Now, I was forced to do a fitness profile and the choices I made don’t really reflect the different activities I like to do; they remind me to do workouts they choose for me, I can’t find many of the workouts I liked and saved, I want to use the app as a supplement to things I do separately, not make them my one and only. I doubt I renew. Of course they’ll probably change it again since they seem to constantly.

Faster/more detailed search options. I wish I could search workouts more efficiently. Had options based off things like arms, legs, etc, for the specific days I want to train those muscle groups. The search now is not as detailed when I put those items in. Also wish you could search if possible calorie burn, sometimes I want the chance to maximize calorie burn for a workout. Sometimes I spend 30+minutes scrolling through finding a workout, even though I have them saved. Could be easier if more detailed. More stair master workouts!!! Although this is not a popular tool to use, those of us that do need more options. I also liked the beginner/intermediate/advanced....lately all I see is all levels 🙄. These are nice but I do like the more specific (maybe it’s mental, but I like to see the levels and choose based off my feeling for the day, I love it when I know I am keeping pace with an advanced, and I like knowing to pick a beginner to bring it down for a recovery day). Loving the tread and weight workouts more of those please! Over all it really is a great app especially when I first started using in March, but feel as though things are starting to soften or slack a bit as far as new material. And I do love the movements included now that has been nice to see what I will be doing to make sure I am varying my workouts.

It Changed...not in a good way. Update. I USED to love this app. I have had it for a couple years and it helped me get back into shape originally. I loved a couple trainers in particular and there were awesome yoga workouts and running workouts that i had saved to my favorites. But recently something happened and those trainers and all my workouts i loved are gone and the many favorites i saved are all missing! Where’d they go? If a trainer leaves Aaptiv apparently so does their content! and what you replaced them with aren’t as good!! Most of the music is annoying in many of the new yoga workouts. I don’t like hip hop music to go along w my yoga! I canceled my annual membership which I still have til January Bc I had annual which was a good deal originally. No refund for your crappy changes!! Since I have it til next January I may check in periodically to see if content has improved to its original status. For now, You ruined a good thing sadly :(. Old review Love this app. There’s so many options for workouts and music and trainers that I never get bored. For someone that has never been a runner, this has gotten me into running Bc I can do it with a trainer in my ears helping me along the way. I’m not jogging all alone ;). Also I really like the yoga workouts. They’re very well done and explain things well. Thanks for making such a quality workout option for us non gym rats :).

Great concept!! Personal trainer in your ear!. This app is a great idea for someone like me who needs the motivation and encouragement...and distraction. I say distraction because when you are in the gym and you do not have a gym body- it becomes an anxiety thing to overcome. So while gathering the courage- I did some research and stumbled on this app. It’s great but unfortunately not all of the trainers are coaching from a truly beginner place with the Beginners selections. One female trainer begins her yoga training with “Get into downward facing dog” and doesn’t describe it at all. As a beginner I have no idea which way to go so technically hers would be an intermediate selection. One male trainer was difficult to understand his instructions. Overall though- concept is good. I look forward to the updates with the $99 annual subscription price tag- they should be outstanding! :)

Cool, but too much. Get a timer app.. This is a cool app. Audio instruction is pretty practical while in the gym—no one wants to watch a video like with most of these apps. But the thing is there is TOO much here. Too much to look though, too much to choose from. I found myself doing the same workout, albeit great but still, over and over again because I didn’t want to scroll through what seems like hundreds of workouts to choose from. Plus, I need a certain kind of music to keep me going through a workout. If I’m not feeling the music, my mind wanders and I lose focus. So picking my own music works best for me. If you have the time, just get a timer app (like Seconds. Best timer app for a one time fee) and craft your own workouts so you can listen to your own music. It’ll take as much time or probably less, to craft your own timers than it will be to scroll through hundreds of workouts and find one you like with the music you like.

Love the app, but a few suggestions. I love this app and find it incredibly motivating. I feel like this is a workout app that I will actually stick with. However I definitely think that the workout should have descriptions of what they include before you start. I have started running exercises that I physically can't do because I don't know ahead of time and I don't get as good of a workout because of it. It would be nice if I could Google what some of the exercises are before hand so I don't stand there confused because I don't know what they want me to do or end up hurting myself. Same goes for the stretching I think they should have videos because this is something that you could really injure yourself if done wrong. This would be incredibly helpful for beginners and people just getting into working out.

Pause at your own risk. Don’t get me wrong, I love this app when it works. There’s a trainer for everyone, the variety is good, and it’s structured to suit the beginner to advanced athlete. But whatever you do, don’t pause the workout. There have been a couple times when I needed to pause—like to take a quick call or change the music when I’m using my own—and it seems like every time I do that I’ll finish my workout and it won’t log it, like I never resumed it and just quit. Momma didn’t raise no quitter, my friends, and a girl does not want to be called one once she’s gone through the whole 30 minute workout. The app has made some amazing advancements and improvements since I started using. You’d think they would have fixed this by now.

Neat idea inconsistently done. I really liked the concept, and quickly signed up for it. Unfortunately, the shine wore off just as quickly. My two biggest beefs are that music tempos and song changes don’t match exercise segments whatsoever and outdoor walking and running estimates for distance are often WAY off. My favorite example with of music mis-match was a “rock” running program where the music was between songs 5-10 seconds before the end of a few run intervals, right when the trainer was urging me to speed up. Then, the big exciting give-it-your-all push at the end the song was — wait for it — “Smoke on the Water”! For distance estimates, I once did a “Beginner” 45 min walk/run/strength workout that was billed at 4 miles (I’d like to see the beginner who can run 4 miles in 30 mins, half of which is supposed to be at a walking pace!). The 42-min outdoor walking workout I just did estimated I’d go 2.5 miles, which was only accurate if you count the fact that I had to walk over a mile home after it ended, making it a total workout time of an hour! Mind you, I’ve been turning around before the trainers announce the “halfway” point because I learned quickly that they seem to be calculated by time, not by distance... but I still have to schedule extra time in afterwards in case I end up far from home. So much for fitting these in over a lunch hour!

My Favorite Fitness App. I seriously love Aaptiv so much. I loved doing classes at my gym and when I switched gyms and their classes were lacking, I downloaded Aaptiv and have been hooked ever since. I use it every morning when I workout. It’s so helpful to have someone guiding you through a killer workout so I don’t have to worry about making any kind of plans or routine I’ll get tired of on my own. I’m able to set my preferences like arms on M/W and legs T/Th and it suggests new workouts for me at the length I choose. Love it! Not only got me through quarantine, but has kept my love for the gym for over a year now. Ackeem and Kenta feel like friends at this point, listening to them practically every morning. Highly recommend getting Aaptiv, you won’t regret it!

Fun Workout Use to be an Oxymoron 🙅🏻. I used to do the same running/elliptical work out (when I was motivated) I get bored then stop working out. I would get stressed out about making playlists then get bored with my playlists but also would spend more time changing songs than working out. Aaptiv has solved all of those struggles for me. It's a personal trainer who "comes prepared" with music and a different workout to meet your needs or time constraints. You are able to pick your type of workout/equipment (if you're at the gym), trainer and amount of time to workout. Also each workout gives a small description, helpful for me. They will also follow each workout up with stretching or strength training. No need to go look. Overall, it's amazing and these trainers are really cheering for you every step of the way.

Love it - only one gripe. Aaptiv is my favorite fitness app. I use it in the gym for weight training, elliptical & treadmill workouts. It’s nice to have a curated routine and I also do some yoga and an workouts at home. My favorite workouts are the Apple Watch curated ones and I like how the app accurately & consistently transfers data to Apple Health after you complete a workout. My only gripe with this app is that I wish there were an option to only hear and/or see instructions from the trainers (without the extra commentary). The trainers talk absolutely too much and sometimes constantly throughout the entire workout. It defeats the purpose of listening to music while working out if you cannot hear your music bc the trainer is talking the entire time. My only other wish is if it were possible to make Pandora an option for music. They have an excellent workout radio station.

Great app for workouts other than running. This is a great app if you would like someone to talk you through workouts, remind you of form, and if you don’t mind someone else being the dj while you exercise. Personally I love this app. A lot of people are complaining about Aaptiv removing workout plans and workouts they loved, but I think this is a positive. I don’t think this app should be the sole way someone should exercise. It’s good to do a variety of exercises and workouts, and I think aaptiv is right to switch things up so people don’t get too accustomed to one workout. I personally use this app mostly for when I am on a cardio machine at the gym or doing strength training or yoga at home. For running I use Nike run club. I also love how this app tracks all of your workouts for weekly streaks. It keeps me motivated!

Love this app!. I have had an iPhone for ten years (and multiple fitness apps as well) and this is the first app I have ever cared enough to rate. I LOVE this app. It has an incredibly large range of fitness classes across multiple fitness levels so that there is something for everyone. I really appreciate that they make classes for different lengths of time so that I can always fit a class in. For each class the instructors provide demos of any moves you will need to perform and let you know ahead of time any equipment you will need. I also really enjoy the fitness programs they offer that help you work towards specific fitness goals. The instructors are informative and motivating! Also, I appreciate that they are taking a holistic approach to fitness and offer meditation guidance as well. Definitely recommend!

Best investment of the new year!. I hesitated to purchase this app, but took time to read the reviews. I figured it was better than plunking down $100/month at a spin gym that I wasn't sure I could fit into my schedule. My logic? If I tried this and it didn't work, then I would shell out the $$$ for a gym. After just one workout, though, I was hooked! The instructors are motivating and the music is so diverse, you never get bored. Most of my workouts go by in a flash. After two weeks, I'm already up to 30-40 min sessions. The workouts are challenging enough that I get my day's workout in without needing more. On my recovery days, I just adjust the beginner level (be warned - beginner workouts will definitely make you sweat!) Loving this app - can't say enough about it and the quality of instructors; loving every one of them!

Normally refuse to pay for apps, but this is worth it. I travel a lot for work and have to stay at hotels with gyms of various qualities (sometimes no gym) and I also live in the North. The travel and winter weather make it difficult to find motivation to consistently workout, especially when I’m relegated to the boring treadmill and elliptical. Aaptiv makes working out so easy, interesting, and convenient. I can choose my own workout combos, the have long, medium, and short length workouts, and lots of workouts with varying levels of difficulty. I’ve only been using it for a month but I feel like I’ll be able to grow with the app and consistently feel challenged as my fitness level increases. Def worth it and it’s cheaper than a gym membership you never use.
