Dont do it to youself. Been using this app for almost a year, transferring almost $5k - $10k in the mean time. No problem so far until 2 days ago they just canceled my transfer & delete my account. Only gotten an email saying I’ll get refund in 10 days but no reason why it got canceled. Contact a representative, they said it was reviewed “internally” and due to my receiver’s activities, they canceled my account. Giving no further reason, they closed the chat really fast without letting me ask more question. Just really frustrating because if you use this app for business purposes it will delay and cause extreme issues for your business. Customer service: 2/10 . App function: 7/10 ( fees are really expensive too) .

Unbelievable. This money transfer I recently try to send money to my dad in Tonga. The amount was not much, after two weeks I try to send again they REJECT my transaction, I called customer service and would not believe what they told me, THEY REFUSE PROVIDING SERVICE FOR ME. Wth did I do to deserve such respond. I try to figure out what crime did I commit with a simple transaction. My ID was valid and everything but I don’t understand why money gram decide to refuse doing business with me. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. If my stepmom did not work for the bank that connects with MoneyGram I will never ever step foot in a MoneyGram ever again. Your service is horrible, customer service was rude, not recommend!

Disappointed. Well I create an account like a 6 years ago if no more than 6 and everything was great it was so easy to send money to parents aboard but one day I send money to my little brother and the app was messing up the next thing that I know they locked my account I call costumer service for this matter and they couldn’t help me my account got locked forever 😱crazy but true after so many attempts to get my account back I give up … now I’m looking into the competition let’s give it a chance maybe they have better services

SCAM - Horrible App!!. Both my husband and I created an account to transfer money and we’re both scammed. Once we made it through all steps and received confirmation that the money order had gone through, we received a second notification a few minutes later stating that the transaction was cancelled. Never giving any explanation. Then we immediately tried to get back into the account and both accounts were blocked/locked. Customer support was horrible and gave no information. The one time we did reach someone, they said we would have a full refund within 10 days and never ever received it back. Called our credit card company and they confirmed that this happens with this app ALL OF THE TIME. DO NOT USE THIS APP!

Good Exchange rate. If you are not in hurry to get money credited i.e day or two, then this is best for exchange rate and take min 4-5 days for money credit. I have done couple of transactions no issues so far except the 1st one which they cancel without any reason hold my money for more than a week, customer support doesn’t know exact reason and they say fraud prevention and canceled my transaction. When I asked what trigger for fraud transactions they have no answer and requesting me to do transfer again which took another 5-6 additional days. Additional I need to authorize same bank multiple times, it doesn’t have details like initiated date and completed date. Facial recognization doesn’t automatically recognize I need to manually do when ever I open the app which is annoying 😤

Great for reloadable debit cards!. I donate plasma and receive credit on a reloadable card. However, the card isn’t tied to a bank, so there’s no account or routing number, which means it can’t be transferred to a bank. I also can’t have it withdrawn at a bank as mine is purely internet-based. Moneygram saved my bacon, as I only paid $1.99 in fees to get the rest of my money in the card sent over and credited to my debit card in minutes. If you’re a blood/plasma donor like me and are tired of the point-of-sale fees eating at your money, I’d highly recommend this app to get your money off the card and into the bank of your choice quickly!

DO NOT USE MONEY GRAM. USE western union. Money gram does not care about actually helping you. They collect their fees and make it impossible to change names, address, or any details in the transaction. The only option they give you is a refund. A REFUND TAKE 2 days to process + 10 DAYS TO BE CREDITED. They dont care about urgency or needs of the recipient. They have NO CLUE of any other nations RESTRICTIONS for pick up. And they have no clue how to resolve this. My family couldn’t pick up their money for food and living expenses because of this. They would not allow them to pick up due to their nationality— there was absolutely no mention on pick up restrictions, on top of that the MoneyGram store representative suggested I call and change the name — i called and they DONT CANT CHANGE THE NAME. Seriously? Ive done this before with WU and no problems at all. MONEYGRAM SUCKSSSSSSS BIG TIME

Account locked for no reason. I tried to do two transfers back to back. Started getting a cryptic error message on my second transfer, “something went wrong, please retry at your end”. Retried several times but no result. Finally called customer care who told me they’re seeing insufficient funds because of which transfer was being rejected. I don’t believe this was the case but they asked me to speak to my bank. The next day, I was unable to login with a message “we could not complete your request”, another utterly unhelpful error message. Turns out that my account was locked and they can’t do anything about it. Are you serious? Making two transfers back to back warrants a permanent lock on your account? Your error messages are not helpful at all, they just ask us to keep retrying. When you retry, they lock your account. I wish the experience of using moneygram was not as frustrating.

App works but service dont. Please be aware that if you need to send money for a fast pickup this is not the service you are looking for. I sent money 6 days ago from which 4 were business days and they keep telling me they were not, thay count 24 hours from one day to another, so Thursday to friday is 1 day and not 2 😳, ridiculous, right? Well anyways i made the mistake to send 300 dollars(thank god did not send more) and now i checked their reviews just to find out they have the worst rating ever. Do your self a favor and use some other method of sending money, in my case i have used xoom before and timming is perfect and super fast, i decidef to try this because they were offering a better exchange rate, but now i regret it deeply.

Poor Customer Service and False Info. Do not risk using MoneyGram and if you had to use it, DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES, or they will hold your money for weeks no matter what. So, others might have different experiences with MoneyGram, I don’t know. I just take time and right down my experience to at least help someone. I usually use Wester Union and never had issues even if I happened to make typing mistakes. WU App was down and I had to use MoneyGram to send money to my family as they needed it immediately. I was in hurry and mistyped one word of the receiver. Since MoneyGram says they amend the name if there was mistakes, it’s a false statement. It took me two hours to talk and explain the situation to MoneyGram agents, but they barely speak English and finally asked me to cancel the transaction as they really don’t have the amendment option despite they claim they have. I had to cancel the transaction and it’s been 11 days that I still haven’t received my money plus they didn’t refund all charges and fees. They send money to any part of the world in minutes but they hold your own money for weeks, isn’t it weird and vague?

AVOID at all cost, they’ll keep your funds for days. If you really want to live thru a nightmare, use MoneyGram. These people are the closest thing to a scam. Used them before, and they were good. Now, they will literally remove funds from your account right away after a transfer, then they’ll cancel the transfer 3-5 minutes after without providing a reason, then they’ll tell you that you’ll receive a refund up to 10 days, for me it was an emergency transfer with limited funds I had in my account. I was screwed big time. Called them, they said nothing they can do. Never mind that this happened four times so far. Run away. Services like cash apps, Zelle, Venmo, or world remit are honest business that won’t hold your funds for days.

Horrible service if you encounter issues. This app has a horrible customer service if you encounter any issue. My account was deleted out of the blue because of a banking dispute, which I never did or initiated. I sent three transfers, one succeeded and two are in limbo because my account was randomly deleted. It has been a whole week and I am still trying to regain the transfer amount because the money is in MoneyGram’s hands and are not being sent out. HORRIBLE and avoid a low company like this. I’ve tried all the other ones and I believe Wise or Xoom have better services and support than this company. Any issue you have with MoneyWise would have to be resolved through a chat online, and I promise you the person will only tell you that the mistake is on your end and they cannot do anything about it.

Very worst app- worst customer service. There is no benefit in using app. It looks like this app has been designed by someone who has zero experience with remittance. You would expect to be able to whitelist receivers especially friends/family so that you can send money without being flagged. But no, it does not matter if you are sending money to a receiver you already have sent. They will go ahead and cancel the transaction. The worst part is they will notify you after 16 hours through email, but the app still shows “Ready to Pickup” in the full details. If you send money to same receiver, there is a very high chance that the transaction will get canceled next time because of fraud issue, even though the first transaction was smooth. Also, the refund takes 8-10 days. It is absurd that they do not flag the transaction or keep it on hold for security reasons, but they will directly cancel it because they think it has security issue after 16 hours of when it was actually sent and ready to pick up. There is no point in using app.

Sending money to myself!. I’m in Philipphines now trying to WITHDRAW FROM my US bank but it won’t let me send to myself HERE??? Why is it prohibiting me from getting my money? Im not getting the codes you are supposedly sending to my Email. I’ve been using this App for a long time and am now having trouble. I’m living in s foreign country ()Philippines) and my very existence depends on the continuance of my Social Security Money which I transfer here to myself or my live in mate ( Lailanie Suazo) I’m 77 years old and retired. PLEASE don’t cause this pressure and worry on a very loyal customer for years. Are you eliminating your elderly clients who live abroad and are depending on you? Had there been management change. If this is how you choose to treat us, you should be shut down or boycotted. You should be ashamed.

This company is a joke. After getting 2 transactions blocked ,account automatically closed ,uploading my driver’s license to verify my identity ,spending over an hour on chat with 2 different reps ,they told me to take my business elsewhere. This is the reply i get from the rep, “Thank you for that information. I have reviewed the details in your profile and I do apologize, but MoneyGram Security has closed your profile and it is not permitting the access. MoneyGram security system is not comfortable with your activity. To protect you and MoneyGram against any loss, our security system has closed your account and I am afraid you will not be able to use our service. However, if you still want to send money, you can try using a different service.”

Took too long!. This is my first time using this app. I had to wait 4 business days for them to provide a reference number. Once I was finally receive a reference number the receiver informs me that the receiver name has changed( 2 day expiration ). I sent my request Tuesday. It wasn’t until late Friday that I receive an email with the 8 digit confirmation. Why did I have to wait so long I have no clue. Usually when a payment is made I should have been provided a reference number immediately. At least that’s the case with other money services. At the end, I had to cancel transaction and request a refund because it took too long for Money Gram to provide me a reference number. They were impossible to call. All I got was automated message. This is bad business. So now I am waiting for a refund.

Terrible service. I sent fund overseas through app back on July to my friend which not much only $25 but my friend never received that money. I called MoneyGram to solve problem, 1st representative told me it’d take 90 for investigation so I asked to talk to higher authorities to speed process, 2nd representative whom claimed himself “supervisor” gave me same speech and came down to he’d take care of it within 3-5 days. 5 days later my friend still didn’t see that money in her account so, I waited patiently until today Dec. 2nd, 2021, I called again the representative said fund cleared since Aug. 2nd 2021, which really impossible cuz I talked to them about the issue after Aug. 2nd the first time I had problem. He repeated himself over and over about money had been cleared, I asked for support documentation, they don’t have it for you just the confirmation number. And after I hung up I have my friend checked with her bank right away and the bank showed her past 3 months account transactions and no show of $25 I sent through MoneyGram app. Terrible service, terrible customer service, terrible representative.

Account locked. I switched to money Gram after a friend told me that the $value to Philippines is higher than the one I am using. I was happy at first because they have the G cash option which is the most convenient form of pay out in the Philippines. I successfully made 3 consecutive transactions on Christmas Eve for my god children. After that, I was surprised that money gram had locked me out of my account. I saw an e mail that stated the reason. It was mentioned that my account is vulnerable to fraudulent activities. I understand that they were trying to protect my account but disappointed because they have not verified or attempted to contact me thru e mail or a phone call if I have made those transactions or not. I have filled up the form to contest this action. I also have sent an e mail to customer service hoping to get a resolution.

Account block. Tried to open an account and send money with application, after going through the steps and everything, clicked the send button and Moneygram send me an email saying that Moneygram is unable to proceed with my transfer and after careful review they declined my transaction and closed my profile. I reached out to chat support they texted to me saying that they cannot tell me the reason why my profile is closed with them and they cannot tell the reason why this happened because of their security. It is very pointless if you cannot know the reason why its blocked!! Which means they really do not CARE about your issue. I texted back to chat support that I will leave review about it his reply was OK “go on nothing is going to change anyway.” I went through some of the reviews which customers left and there no reply back from the Moneygram representative, which again double assures that they really do not care about customer problems (your problem you deal with it). Please be careful when using this app!! Or avoid using their service as long as you do not want to have headaches.

Had a terrible experience with this app and with direct contact. I was told to download the app because my store no longer had the kiosk. I downloaded the app and the app return “whoops!” Once I input my information. I called in and spoke with an agent and was then elevated to a supervisor because my app wasn’t working. The worst thing about this is that they have you repeat every single bit of your information to each agent, which takes copious amount of time, finally finished up and they got my DL number incorrect so I had to call back. I was already irritated because I had been trying to pick up my money for an hour. It was near 8pm. I called back and the new guy working my transaction gets locked out of the system because it was 8pm. After an hour and a half of calling and mess ups, I then couldn’t pick up my money until the next day. Problem is I was using that money to pay for groceries. I hope Venmo dominate this industry and it becomes a blockbuster of our time. Worst experience ever!

Bad customer service. I registered then send a $400 to my dad in the Philippines. A message showed will take about 30 minutes for the transaction to be approved. Almost an hour no email whatsoever. I tried to login back to check the status and won't let me access my account and want me to call their customer service number. I talked to one CS rep and asked me the information I entered. I gave all the information but she can't find the email address. No information in their system. I told her not possible because I submitted my drivers license before the moneygram website let me submit the $. And she keep asking me over and over to give her the right information. I even asked her if she want the address and authorization number because I took a screenshot of it. She insisted the same thing email add, name and birthday which I did repeatedly. It's been 9 hrs and still waiting for approval and can't access my account. I asked her at least cancel the transaction since I have the authorization number but she refused to do that also. Good thing before I even logout I deleted my card information.

Customer service and money transfer services are crazy insane, ridiculous and stupid !. I created MoneyGram account for the first time ever and I wanted to send money abroad to my sister . The minute after I’m trying to send the money moneygram decides for no reason whatsoever to lock my account . I decide to go their representative so they unlock it and they tell me they can’t do that . I ask them the reasons and they tell me they can’t give me any it’s just locked permanently. After I lose my mind and tell them there’s no way you go to a bank or any financial service and they lock your account and won’t you give a reason . That’s the least they can do . But these crazy people tell me they can’t give me a single reason why they are locking my account ???? For sending money to my family ? You guys are out of your mind ! I will NEVER recommend moneygram to anyone and as I was sitting in the office at lunch had my coworkers sign off it and they will tell this same story to other possible customers that you just now lost over nonsense !

You’re loosing a valued customer. I have been sending money via MoneyGram since 2007. A lot of transactions... I am what they call a loyal customer. I really thought MG was the best till they proved me wrong. My wife was having difficulty sending money with her account so I tried to use my account to send the money on her behalf. Then MG blocked me. I can no longer send money online EVER!!! I have to find a physical location. I’ve called numerous times to try and fix the issue but I always get the same unprofessional answer from mostly rude customer reps: “You have to go to a store. You can’t send money online anymore, and we can’t tell you why”. Well, it’s freaking annoying and I am now tired of it. There are other competitors I can research and start using. I usually don’t write reviews but I just have to write this one because I am super frustrated. Be careful people!!

Scammer. So I have have been using this app for a while and once I cancelled a transaction. I was told I would get my back my money in 10 business days and 10 business days pass by and I still did not get back my money. I called and every time I was given a different information so I know something was wrong. So I called my bank and report the issue and made a dispute and I was able to get back my money. Now I tried to use the app and it seems as though they blocked me because I reported them. The app keep saying their is no account registered with my email. So I tried to create a new account and it says unable to create account. How petty can they be????!!!!!! So they made themselves look guilty because they obviously knew what their motive was in the beginning. You people are full of crap. So quick to take people money and want to take years to return.

No limit. Why is there a limit on ordinary mistakes that people can make on purchases or whatever, through this system? If I want to use this particular service to send money ANYTIME I WANT TO THE SAME PERSON..., why is there a limit on how much and many times I can send to that particular person? Why? ARE WE SLAVES, WE CANT BE SENDING MONEY TO OTHER SLAVES NOW DAYS! Why is there a restriction on how many time anyone can use this type of services? Why? There is a fee that you are charging just to send the few BUCKS that poor slaves need regardless of the service fees! Maybe this service is the only services available because the person’s circumstances or whatever. Why the limit? Why the amount and time plus energy to go somewhere only to be told, “theres an limit SLAVE!” Why??

HORRIBLE COMPANY. I honestly feel I was discriminated against for having a interracial marriage. So I created a money gram account under my name to send money online to my in-laws. My wife had a issue sending money and called customer support for assistance. Money gram(the call center in the Philippines) told her she violated MG’s policy by trying to send money under my account; EVEN THOUGH WE SHARE THE SAME CARD THAT WAS PAYMENT TO MONEY GRAM!!! Long story short money gram made us out to be criminals or a fraud then permanently blocked my name for future online use. The Filipino woman she spoke to over the phone instigated this whole issue even though it was completely innocent. There is money wired for drugs, prostitution, weapons trafficking, and just plan money laundering but my wife can’t send money to her 70sum year old mothers birthday. Ridiculous!! Now after all said in done my name is red lined due to pure hate. Western union may cost alittle more but they have my business from here on out.

WORST APP AND COMPANY!!!. It’s rare for me to leave reviews, but my experience with this app and Money Gram was so bad that I felt like I needed to warn others. I tried to transfer a few thousand dollars to a relative in Mexico. My identity was verified and I got a confirmation number saying my transaction was done and ready for pick up in Mexico. A couple minutes later I was signed out of the app and couldn’t log back in. Then I got an email saying that my transaction was cancelled and I couldn’t get my money back for up to 10 business days. I tried calling customer service, but of course they outsource to another country and no one could actually help me with this. They just kept transferring me to other people who gave me the same information as the one before. It’s ridiculous that they would even accept my money in the first place and then tell me that my identity couldn’t be verified and now I’m stuck waiting for that money to be returned to me. They just lost a customer and I hope others will read this and be warned. If you need to send money, do it in person. I learned my lesson and will never use money gram again!

Schedule Send is a joke!. I send money to a disabled person on the first of every month, money they need for their daily needs. I saw the option for Schedule Send and thought that will make my life easier so I’ll never forget to send the money on the first of the month. After trying this for several months, MoneyGram is incapable of delivering the money. Each time I get an email saying the money will be sent the following day. Then nothing happens. There’s no record of the trans action anywhere. So then, I contact the company and they say they have some kind of a internal error with their systems, sorry all we can do is cancel. This happened twice in a row, same exact issue. What a joke; I am now back to the manual send process because I’ve been late in making my payment for two months in a row.

Account Locked and they won’t tell me why. Been using the app for 3+ years sending money to my family. Recently when I was trying to send a transaction and it got declined. Called customer service rep told me to try again in a few days. Still didn’t work, turns out they just banned my account and can’t tell me why. I would understand if I need to go through additional verification or send them some additional documents but no, they straight up ban you and won’t tell you the reason after being a customer for such a long time that’s is the treatment you will get. Good thing there are a lot of emerging companies that will take the market and have them eventually out of business. Hope that comes for them sooner than later.

Intentionally Misleading. I went online and opened the website. A large notification popped up that said that I was a first time user and I didn’t have a transaction fee. In very tiny print at the bottom of the notice was written only if you use a bank account or debit card. I started with the transfer and it said using cash is the fastest for the recipients to receive money and the fee was around $5. I chose it only to find out at the store I went to to send the money, there was a $28 plus fee. I had spoken to two reps prior to find out why I the click to pay and send wasn’t working. One couldn’t help me but he verified that first transfer is 0 fees. The second rep I spoke with said I didn’t need to do that because I had my reference number and that’s all I needed and he said that 0 fee is just for international transfers. They refused to refund me the fee. This was the first and LAST time I will use their services. Elaine Delvecchio

Terrible App. This app was probably created by someone who’s never sent money abroad, or only sends money to one or two recipients. Shocking it is rated a Five, probably by users who only send money to one or two recipients. If you send money to multiple recipients regularly, you have no option to simply click the recipient’s name and click resend. You have to click “add recipient”, as though you never sent money to that person before. They give you just a couple of old recipients to resend to, but of course that doesn’t work for heavy users. You could go to the transaction history page and view the old recipients, but don’t have a resend button there either. Further, several parts of this app are completely illogical. For example, there’s a page to search for closest MoneyGram locations. You can either click search now, or click “Maybe Later”. Which again demonstrates lazy thinking. If you click “Maybe Later”, the app takes you to the next page which is a search screen for the closest MoneyGran location. In other words, the “Maybe Later” button doesn’t mean a thing. Go figure!! Several other options on this App are plain stupid. Whoever designed this app wasn’t thinking. Real lousy work. Demonstrates a truckload of incompetence and lazy thinking.

Priceless!!. It's nearly impossible to get money when you find yourself in a pinch. Once you do get a family member or friend that can help, usually they have cash. Without bank accounts it's hard to send and or receive the funds. Being located in an area that requires a vehicle doesn't help matters. MoneyGram is my answer. It's fast and easy to send or receive the money. There is a small fee, but totally worth paying that fee as opposed to cancellation, reconnect, etc. Plus the money is available right away. Great service and the app is easy to use. I've had no issues sending or recurving funds. Thanks to moneygram I've got 99 problems but sending $ ain't 1 😊

What’s with the pop up screen?. When I log in the app by pressing on the icon on the phone screen, it would go directly to Send window that has the name of the person I send money the last time, it says “send again” ...yes but not this person but to someone else..!! I look and look and look around how to get to the list of all the recipients I sent money before..! And I couldn’t find it!...is it just me? I made the transaction in my desktop computer instead of on my phone... I will update this rating to 5 stars when I get either a reply or fix it...or I find out that’s it’s my mistake. Thanks

Horrible customer service. I’ve been a long time customer and have made many transactions with Money Gram but this time I am done. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. They take the money from your account send emails to confirm the transaction was deposited and ready for receiver to pick up. Receiver goes to their bank and the record doesn’t even exist. Send an email to customer service with no response after 5 days. Call customer service and they cancel my transaction and process a refund without my permission which now I have to wait up to 10 business days to receive. I received no notification from MoneyGram there was even a problem or to contact them and my receiver made about 7 unnecessary trips to the bank to be told the transaction doesn’t even exist.

Ridiculous. This is one of the worst apps to transfer money. I made my first transaction on this app a few days ago found the following. 1. Until the transaction is not completed, there will be no information in your transaction history. The transaction history won’t even tell that the transaction is in progress- Never heard that before. So to get the status of the transaction you need to call customer care. The link to check transaction status doesn’t work. 2. Customer Care takes real long time even to track your transaction and for a moment you think they can’t even find your money, 3. There is an option for 24/7 express etc, but it will take longer for the money to get credited to the account of the receiver. 4. Never understand in the digital world the amount dedicated from my savings account quickly and it takes days for the amount to reach the recipient.

SHOCKED. I had the app for years, sending money to my mom in Morocco, and I send money almost every month with no issues until out of the blue my last transaction to my mother was canceled and I tried to log in and I couldn’t, I clicked forgot password and put my email it said this email is not associated with any account, of course there is no number to call for such a big company which is ridiculous, I waited for somebody in their chat service which seemed to me like a bit because it was responding with long sentences very quick, and it told me that my account was deleted for safety reasons and I can’t send money with them anymore, I will definitely use a different company and Shane on you for your poor customers service

What a horrible service. I guess this is one of those things you learn when you use the app. Maybe it works great in the states, but don’t try to use this for overseas! They freeze the transfer, then you have to figure out who the customer service is( they don’t have it on their app or website) then you talk to a bunch Indian tech who you can barely understand, trying to confirm your identity and your receivers. And the transfer was still pending. After 4 days of back and forth with these Indian techs, I just cancelled the transfer. Bottom line: Terrible customer service, ridiculous processing time. Sometimes it’s worth paying a bit more and use better apps and banks services. Lesson learned, not using this app again!!

Way better than Remitly. I am used Remitly for last 3 years to send money to India. I thought they are the giving competitive exchange rate rate unless I found Money Gram. In actual Money Gram is giving more exchange rates to INDIA. And you will get a higher transaction limit per day with basic ID requirements. I do spoke with customer service few times regarding ID submission, they were responding really nice. And I sent money couple times by now and there is no problem till now in sending money. The only drawback is they are taking 4 to 7 days to credit the amount in destination country.

Hard to navigate. The app is hard to navégate , instead of having a Home Screen with a tab for you need action or has a scroll down feature that makes it confusing, also does not have the capability of setting up a transaction a leave pending until you are good a ready to send , the apps removes everything you did and have to start all over again from scratch, the fees are higher than similars apps but it offers an array of options how to send the money and how the recipient will receive the funds , and that is excellent overall is a good app a has respectable backing as well all sort of warning caution the Sender of potential fraudulent transactions

Responding to Toahala. Don’t feel alone. I had the exact same thing happened to me on PayPal. They are supposed to be so highly rated and they advertise sending and receiving money. I am 60 years old on a limited income and had a couple money transfers to my account to help me with a bill for $60 and when I tried to send some money back to the same friend that help me they refused me because my transaction looks suspicious. That is so ridiculous and why advertise something if you’re not going to come through. They also have held $70 I had in my account and $20 in bitcoin that I was just experimenting with so I could see what the big deal was worth it. They are keeping it for six months and then giving it back. If I could sue them I would. That damages my reputation and how do you just take someone’s money and hold it for six months and on top of it I am kicked off of PayPal, which I wouldn’t do business with them if you gave me $1 million dollars!I know how you feel.

Cancelled xfer and blocked my account- no reason!. I opened an account and sent a Christmas gift to my step-son. Now I do admit I mis-typed a letter in his last name. The xfer was sent to him and my bank debited. However my step-son did received an email noting the xfer cancelled and showed him the mis-spelling. Me, I got an email which said, account closed -AND- no reason given. When I tried to log into my account, it said no account. So I a chat with customer support and they said I could only do a cash transfers at a store, as well as the account is close. I again asked for specific reason. Their answer- sorry “none” and can never be opened. They did give me a link for a complaint. However - No review available. I’m not a criminal. My step son is not a criminal. Yet I’m treated as a criminal. Ho, Ho Ho. Merry Christmas 😯😳 MoneyGram -> BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Horrible

Worse app to send money with. I sent money on this app and called the customer service to verify when my transaction was going to be received and was told it will take 3-4 business days, so I told the agent I want to cancel it since it will take that long and the funny part is the transaction has not been taken from my account. But after I canceled the transaction, 24 hours later the money was taken from my account and I was think they transaction went through. I later verified from the receiver and that was not the case. Called back to the customer service who was rude and funny part was he told me since the money has been taken from my account it will take 10 business days to get my money back. He also told me he will end the call if I have no further questions.

Cash pick-up 😔. I've use this app for awhile now and its done so well, but today as i was about to send money overseas, I didn’t get the option to select the cash pick-up. In the few months that i used it, it was working perfectly fine. Today however, it change and very difficult for my friends and family overseas to get the money i sent them since they don’t have a bank also to wire money to them. I’m at a lost with this app. If they can possibly fix the option to send money for them to cash pick-up i would be super delighted.

Unwarranted account termination. I was making a money transfer for someone back home and needed to confirm their info. So, whilst waiting, the app was open in the background. After a while, when I got their info confirmed, I came back to the app and had to log in again. My logging in efforts failed, included Face ID log in. It kept telling me that my log in information is incorrect 😒 when it was not. I reached out to the live chat, and come to find out, their security system had closed my account. The agent couldn’t tell me why and he also said they could not reopen my account. He then asked me if he could provide me with a nearby location, blah blah blah. Like what, the reason I got the app, was so that I can send money to my loved ones in the comfort of my home, or if my busy schedules on some days do not permit me to do it in person. This entire experience was frustrating and disappointing.

Another commercial app written by a third grader. From the moment you install/ start the app , it will hang at least three times . Passport scan is hilariously dysfunctional( put it on the dark background , move closer , move away, reduce glare ... until it just hangs ) , at the end, I bet , you will be forced to do it manually . Interface is cluttered and poorly designed . That is on top of the mysterious “transaction declined “ with no other explanation. These people not only cannot program , the don’t bother to test , overall it seems like they are moving small time business online . One star is well deserved though , after straggling with this app for a while I finally made 2 transactions ( after that problems started again) , Lol mandatory upgrades when you need to send money in harry - just for this assholness I would give it minus 5 stars

Sending through debit card is free again. It’s awesome that once again I can send money via debit card for free. I also like that most of the information of the person is remembered each time so it’s simple to send. I wish they would bring back that it saves ALL of it, including the mobile number of the person to which I’m sending; I always have to relook it up again. Update: the reason I set it to 4 now is because they keep going back and forth with easy resending. There are times I have to enter the entire address of the only receipient I have here, which is a hassle. Other times it goes through quickly without having yo don this.

Blacklisted me?!?!. I sent money but used the wrong delivery way, so I canceled the transfer and sent it again using the right delivery method, since they were taking too long to give me my refund, I panicked and disputed the charges with my bank. Now the banned me from the app, plus the banned me from “Walmart to Walmart” money transfer as well. They’re treating me like a scammer, I don’t think it’s fair, I called them and they said you’re welcome to go to a location and send money that way. I also emailed them and they replied by telling me, “we already told you, you can’t use the app, cause of highly suspicions of fraud, go to a location, where they take cash” That does not fix my problem or my reputation, I was only trying to get the $804 I canceled in the first transfer

Only works on my iPad. This app works fine on my iPad, but strangely not on my iPhone, which is weird. On my iPhone upon clicking the app I get a blank white screen and the money gram motion welcome graphic doesn’t even come across for me to continue into the app, almost like it’s frozen! I’ve done everything, closed all apps, restarted the phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, and it still doesn’t work on my iPhone! Went over to iPad and it’s flawless, problem with that is I don’t bring my iPad everywhere, developers you guys need to fix this some how. Gave this 3 stars, because I can still use it, and it’s fine when I get in, but it only works on my iPad which is still inconvenient.

USELESS, WASTE OF TINE. This the most useless app I have seen. Created an account with a different number years back. I have a different number now. when on the app to edit the account with my new number - now I can’t see my transactions with the old number nor the new number. With the old number I could see all my transactions. Actually contacted CS, explained to em, and all they did was referred me back to the edit feature in the app. I usually send money through Shopper Supermarket but for us immigrants that want to petition for our relatives back home having access to transactions history is very important. Because at some point during the process you will need it. Quite frankly that the only reason I have the app. It is cheaper to send money at my local grocery store (2miles away)than the app.

Worst service ever! False accusations. I am a law abiding citizen that’s working hard to take care of my mother in law & also my dad. During the pandemic, the worst trying time in history of my existence. This company decided to refund my money (still pending) and their representatives lied to me; telling me that it had nothing to do with my acct but rather the person receiving the money. After 3 attempts to verify transactions, I was unsuccessful, even my Bank assured me that they authorized the transactions. Moneygram deleted my account before 3-10 business days. After I was told that’s how long it will take them to reimburse me. How ironic, a hard working Nurse that can verify income gets block without any notification or reasonable excuse. If anything happens to my dad during these 10 days that you’re sitting on my $. You can rest assure that I’m suing this company for not making my funds available in my account so I can resend the money for his medication, using a different medium.

Poorcustomer service. I been sending money for years but when I bought my new phone, I downloaded this app on it. When I decided to send money on my new phone, money gram customer service stated I can no longer send money through money gram again. When I asked why, she said because I deactivated my account, which I never did. I only downloaded the app on the new phone with my information and send money in it with my same info. I am so disappointed in money gram. I asked if I could talk to a manager , she said no. My thing here is even if I deleted my account I don’t have the right to? So that means I have to be punished. That’s ridiculous. Is like you being punish for canceling a credit card. No one do that, but only money gram. That sad.

MoneyGram app appears neat and friendly but beware your transaction can be canceled for no reason with no warnings or an email explaining any reason why and your funds held by MoneyGram. Its awful to have your hard earned money held and your friends or loved ones waiting for the money transfer. I put in a ticket for the problem and I did not receive a respond assuring me that my money will be replaced back into my account immediately but to wait 3-10 days for it. Really? my own money and I have to wait for it, for no reason. Worst experience ever and I will never use this app or MoneyGram services again.

Absolutely terrible customer service. At first this app was great, processed transactions with no trouble . Then upon my fifth transaction, it was cancelled almost immediately despite my insistence that I approved the transaction. The company claimed that it had too many markers for fraud but didn’t tell me which markers were used; furthermore, they tried to quell my concern by assuring me repeatedly that due some internal and external regulations the transaction had to be cancelled but wouldn’t tell me what the regulations were that were violated or triggered the cancellation, nor would they send me a link to the regulations that were violated. I can appreciate good security, but good communication with your customers is just as important.

What the heck?. I signed up to send my son money. With this Covid-19 stuff he’s unemployed like many of us! I sent him three transactions over a few days. I went to send a fourth,because the third one I sent wasn’t enough to cover his expenses for medicine and groceries. Well they locked my account an I still have been trying to get an answer for the days now! Since then my profile and account has been locked and deleted. After I sent the first transaction it asked me why I was sending and reason! To me that is not anything that I should have to disclose. I understand for fraud purposes but I had sent and verified myself before I sent the first one! This is. Very aggravating to me and there is no reason why the should have locked my profile!

Cheap and Secure. It’s one of the cheapest ways to send money if your using your debit card. It’s really safe and secure as well. I’ve been using it for a couple months and I haven’t had any issues other than the name of the receiver. The name of the receiver has to be exactly as the person’s ID otherwise the location it was sent to will not allow it to be withdrawn. That means even if the middle name is missing the money will need to be cancelled and need to be resent exactly by the receivers name, which shows you how secure MoneyGram is!

Excellent service. I have been using since 2021. I have sent many times to different people from around the world. Once in the system money can be sent within minutes . My only words of advice are that whatever name is put on your MoneyGram order is the exact same name that is on the receivers identification card. Otherwise, it is fantastic. Thank you MoneyGram and for the occasional discounts!!

Terrible. I’d recommend basically any other money transfer company. MoneyGram’s sending limits are extremely low (but apparently top secret, they refuse to tell you them). They even seem to get lower. If you’ve overspent your mystery limit with a transaction, you won’t find out until the very last second when you the receiver finally finishes giving the computer and cashier their information at the agent location. If you have this or any other problem you have to call customer service and speak to someone who probably knows less about the problem than you do and speaks little English. Horrible experience.

The worse 👎. I created an account before to send money to my mother and they told me my account was locked for my security. I was like, I haven’t even used the app as yet. The first time you did not allow my girlfriend's brother to withdraw money, who is in Ukraine, where there is a war and the money was help. Now you are blocking my girlfriend, who is now in the United States of America. Don't let her create an account so she can send money to her brother and her entire family. My girlfriend, Maria Kotlyarova, is legally in the United States, I called her. From the American documents, there is her work permit, which you block, thereby blocking you from helping people who live in a country in which there is a war.

Worst Mobile App!!. I’ve been using MoneyGram for a while to send money to family overseas, but was going to Walmart to do so, and everything was fine... But then I found out that I could save $3 by doing it online on the MoneyGram app. Well, after 3 transactions, it won’t work, tried deleting the app several times, and it keeps saying that ‘It’s on their side, to try again’ . Never worked since... Piece of junk software!!! I lost all interest with using the online service, will try other service....

Sender Pay at Agent Functionality Disappeared from App. MG iOS App no longer has functionality to pay at agent when trying to send money to Philippines. Pay at agent option has disappeared from the applications, available choices when getting ready to process transaction to send cash last. I deleted the app and reinstalled the app and the problem persists, there’s obviously a back office issue in the interface between the iOS Apple app, and the system interface, this needs to be investigated and remedied ASAP. The latest version of the app and the latest version of the iPhone 13 iOS.

Impossible to use app if .... If you’ve ever used the MoneyGram kiosk at a store to send money, you cannot setup a user profile in the mobile app. This is because the database already has your mobile phone number but didn’t capture your email as well. So when you want to use the app, it u don’t ERRORS because it thinks you already have a profile and directs you to login. You can’t login cuz it doesn’t have your email on file. And you can’t use ‘ forgot password’ cuz it doesn’t have your email in its database. So it’s a circular error. Forget about getting a human to resolve the issue cuz your request goes in to a black hole.... so you must continue to get to an agent to make transactions via the clunky kiosk. Yay for technology Thanks MoneyGram developers!

They take your money. Dec. 2021 got a $500. Money gram for my son the money arrived the next day . With identification that was a legal drivers license and the name of sender , phone # , also knowing what day and what store and time the money gram was sent he couldn’t get the money he hadn’t gotten the control number from me I had lost the receipt. And I have made a dozen calls to try and get my money back. Every time I speak to someone I m told a different name to Contact later . I am a bilateral amputees I have no hands or legs. and I had just had them amputated when this occurred.. Yet nobody will lend a finger to help me recoupe any of the money. So I warn you to not trust these people with your hard earned money .

Worse than worthless. The tracking function after entering the reference number will say money is available to be picked up. But it won’t be. So the recipient makes time wasting trips. After calling customer service and answering tons of personal questions, they will say the funds are released, but they won’t be. Then the transaction gets cancelled and be denoted for a refund. Of course no one tells you this until the recipient tries again. After calling customer service, they send you back to the original store for a refund. The original store doesn’t give refunds. So you’re stuck finding another location. Just an overall mess!

Fast service. I usually don’t write reviews but I like others to know the great experience and service Money Gram offers. I was using a different Chanel to send money internationally until I gave it a try. Money Gram fee is very low and even they disclose that transfers take time, Your money gets transferred with in minutes. It is so convenience that I do everything online on their app using my bank account to my family member account in El Salvador. I love Money Gram.

Stay away to send money to country where people don’t speak English. I sent money to my mom to Russia during COVID-19. She went to a bank and they said that she supposed to call somewhere to confirm her name. She called there for long time they didn’t pick up the phone. When they eventually picked up the phone they stirred to speak English to my mom. She is 79 y.o. She speaks only Russian. And no body could speak in the bank in English. They told her to come back in few hours when they will have somebody who speaks English. She is scared to go back and forth because of Coronavirus. And I’m scared too. I would kill that people who created this app and make all my family to stress out because of this situation. Stay away of this app. Don’t use it. It’s so annoying

The high ratings seem false, many of them are actually bad reviews if you read them.. This was not an easy way to send money to someone who desperately needed it. Nothing worked (not the app, not the web, not the kiosk in a store). It kept giving an error that could not be resolved regarding the amount which was under the limit. I had all of the necessary information and needed to quickly send money. I spent hours trying to figure it out. And the customer service (via claim, via chats, and via phone) was terrible and uncaring. Remitly was way easier and faster.

Better than Western Union. Although I’m only able to send $400 at a time, this is much better than Western Union so far. I’ve been trying for weeks to cancel a few W-U transfers with no luck, because I tried to adjust the receiver’s name. Not only won’t they cancel them, but now they won’t even let me do new transfers, and they sent everything to their fraud department. I’m trying to keep a family alive in Afghanistan and get them out of the country. W-U said they need 20-30 days to look at the case. Good grief!

Refferal program 50$ won’t work. So I have been using MoneyGram app/website for almost one year no issue . So last month in April 2022 they did run refferal program offers for 50$ to refer a friend program . So my friend complete the profile and made 500$ international transfer as well . So we both should be receiving 50$ for it . I have waited like 20 days and today reached customer support and explained the issue and all they have to say is refferal programs as ended and won’t be able to help me on the issue . I am not going to use the MoneyGram even again to doing false advertising on Referal a friend program. I do urg everyone don’t fall on their false advertisement on MG.

Jacques. Money gram used to be a great service. However, they were treating people like they are the next agency after the FBI or CIA. They will cancel or revoke your account for no reason under the so called “suspicion” of I don’t know what. No matter how requests you make or reasons you ask, you will get an automated answer. Well guess, in Cameroon or in Africa, I bet you have lost a lot of customers because there are new and efficient methods of sending money, not to the moneygram locations, but directly into their accounts. You are such a shame and disgrace for the business of sending money. And I do hope you learn from this because no one keeps the monopole of the service forever.

Very unreliable and has too many bugs.. My wife has been unable to log into her account saying it doesn’t exist, but when she tries to create a new account with the same email it says her account already exists. I have also been trying to sign in and it only will tell me “unable to process your request at this” and when I do get to sign in and send money it doesn’t work saying “Sorry something has gone wrong on our end”. We are trying to send money for an international adoption, this money is incredibly important but we might have to find another money transfer company as MoneyGram can’t seem to function properly.

Worst experience ever. If I could I would give it 0 stars. Every transaction even to same account takes about more than 10 days, and when i called to ask them about my transaction, i was told that the agent cannot manage it. It was “higher ups” that manage transactions but I(sender) cannot speak to them. And although you have verified your recipient 10 times we still need more information, what information? The “higher ups” knows and they will reveal it any time from 1 to 10 days. Stupid people, I don't think they even deserve to do business.

I wish I knew. Just opened an account. The app has many glitches. I had to enter my billing address manually like more than 20 times because the app kept on changing it to an entire different address that I don’t even know where is that at. And when it finally accepted it it said “error in the address “ I know where the heck is my billing address. When I can finally got into the payment information it tells me it no longer accepts corporate cards ???? This is a personal card! I chose the app to avoid the inconvenience of going to a store in person. But this app it’s just a joke. I wish I knew.

Sent to haiti. Omg i just heard about that there’s actually an app for money gram so i tried it and took a risk cause I usually dont trust alot but my first time using it yesterday very very easy sent the money they picked it up with no problem and it notified me that the money was picked up i love this app so much lol it saves me a trip to the store and long lines 😞 i would recommend this to everyone that is always sending money to family or friends 😎

Terrible UI, UX. This app is terrible, what is the point disabling some submit button if we have the option to edit. I was trying to add a recipient to send money, after entering the name , the app ask if this is the the correct legal name, I click on yes but nothing happens, that mean the buttons is disabled thinking that the name I entered was incorrect. I think a better design would be informed user what is wrong. If you do errors checking, inform user what is the error instead of making the button irresponsive. I used Western union before and never had a problem with their app and UI. You guys need to update and fix this app.

Lost account. After using the service regularly to send my family money every month, my account just disappeared. When I tried to reclaim my account it said I was using the wrong email despite the fact that I only have one personal email. When I tried speaking to an agent I was told my information did not match up to any account and then when I tried to sign up for a new account it said I already had one and couldn’t sign up again. The agent then suggested I use a different money wiring services which, to be fair, I very obviously will be doing now.

Friends, please use Ria mobile transfer, or WesternUnion,don’t use trash of money gram, I have already lost 2500, I made two transactions for my family, my receiver never received the funds, but moneygram sent me the email saying that the fund was received, I requested all evidences that indicated that the was received, such as, store location, paper work, proof of payment, but you know what, money gram is unable to prove, and refuse to provide as the evidence requested. Ridiculous, dishonest, rude, and unprofessional, this is why we can not trust this trash of company, we are going to engage the lawsuit against Moneygram.

Horrible app and service. This is the worse money app I have ever used. Always Something wrong, every transfer I had issue and I have to call them and explain why I’m sending my money, for who , where I have money from, what I’m paying for etc… they holding money for days, after they cancelled transaction and again holding money for days- always giving you stupid explanation like for example: name’s doesn’t match or receiver bank didn’t accept transaction even week before exactly same transfer worked!!!! . they scamming people all the time… if you have other option to send money use different option. Just my recommendation!!!!!

Skip this app. Had a terrible experience with MoneyGram. I sent an urgent transfer to my father and MoneyGram put it on hold because my father and I have the same name (shocker right?). I sent him transfers twice before and no issues, they didn’t even look at the history. I was willing to provide any required information, but I wasn’t able to find where I can do it on the app, so the customer service representative yelled at me that my phone is old! Then she gave me a website, and after completing all of the steps it gave me a pop up window saying, “id is not required for this transfer.” They asked me to wait a day and then cancelled the transfer. Do yourself a favor and don’t use them.

App says ready for pick up even if money is on hold. Had to find out hard way.. Transferred money first time. In few days I get: transaction is approved and ready for pickup. My relative goes to pick up and MoneyGram refuses to give money without explanation. I call MoneyGram and rep says money is on hold and questions need to be asked. I check app and it says money ready for pickup. So, their app is misinforming. If it truly showed correct status, my relative would have not wasted trip. On the other hand it is the cheapest way to transfer money. I just wish they informed correctly about the hold.

The exchange rate is too low. I obviously over estimated this app thinking it will give me a better rate since there is no third party that will collect commissions, but I was disappointed to notice that even with the third party, you get more than with this app. Lately they just suspended my account and I couldn’t send money anymore because a Walmart employee were asking me why I was sending money to my parents in Africa, and I told her it’s not her business. This is seriously disappointing if they don’t even have a customer service that you can call and complain.I’m sorry but this is a scam.

Take your business somewhere else. Terrible company . I tried to send money overseas to a friend in need and they treated me like a criminal!!!! I can’t believe how a company like this can stay afloat with their trash customer service. They completely banned me from using their service for trying to send money to a friend with a disability. I just wanted her to have a good Christmas. ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for them to ban me like that. It was my first experience with moneygram. I contacted customer service and they REFUSED to do anything about it. I also wrote a complaint and they did not even bother to respond. STAY AWAY FROM MONEYGRAM. Please use a better service that actually cares about their customers.

Not as good as before. Not all the usual useful features are available now. For instance I used to be able to see the whole list of prior recipients so I could easily select a specific recipient again. Now I have to scroll through a series of screens. Also, there’s no way to see only the transactions for one recipient. I have to view all and manually search for the name and again manually list the number of transactions and transaction details for that recipient.

Trying to add another card!. I have been trying to add another debit card and it keep telling me my address to my bank card is not the new address that I added. Maybe it didn’t update my address either. Now the card I had on file is 0 balance and I am trying to add a new card to send money to my son but it won’t accept it. I can’t add a card or change my address. They are fibbers.

Don’t waste your time. I spent an hour on the phone giving all my information picture of my passport bank information address everything about me and who I was sending money to. After all that time then being denied saying they needed more information what a joke I don’t see how these companies stay in business. If you can’t verify someone with all there information how in the heck can you verify anyone! I think this maybe some kind of money laundering business something illegal that’s the only thing that makes any sense at all. Good luck if you try and use them I wasted a couple of hours of my life I can’t get back!

Used the app for the first time and got blocked. I was trying to send money to my friend in Kenya when all of the sudden they just rejected the transfer. I had horrible customer service with a woman named Jennifer. She did not represent the company well. After clearly answering all questions that my identity was true she had the nerve to say that my friendship with my friend in Kenya is not a true friendship and that’s why they turned me down and locked my account. I spent time with him and hung out with him during my trip in Kenya. I will never use this service again nor would I recommend it to my network.

Poor online costumer service. I did used this service one single time in 1,5 year and they did blocked me again, I can’t even open the app , if u trying to use this service be ready to (Who and why you sending money) , you have to send them picture of your ID, WU a lot better than this but little expensive (I used Internationaly only not local) 3 star for single transaction

Didn’t process transaction and lied about having refunded my money. I set up a transaction from the US to someone in the US. They took my money instantly and showed a status of “ready for pickup”. The receiver, an old woman, went to one location over the weekend and their machine wasn’t working. She went to another on Monday and they said that they refunded my money. When I called they said that they are subject to international regulations and could not do the transaction. They refused to tell me what the problem is. They only now cancelled the transaction and set up the refund even though they told her that they had already done it the day before. Now I have to wait up to ten business days to get my money back. Never again will I use this “service”.

Hard to navigate. It’s very hard to find bill pay within the app. Also I’m having trouble adding a card both on the website and on here. I thought it was an issue with one card having a Sr (senior) at the end of my name, so MoneyGram support changed my name for my account but it’s still saying my card can’t be authorized even with the correct info. It would be such an added bonus - if the developers could add ApplePay support so that way we can pay instantly with a card already entered and installed on my phone.

Dishonest and bad service. Every time I make a payment it gives me a white screen. They have issues on their end and don’t admit to it. I repeatedly told the customer service agent my card wasn’t accepted and I was having an issue with a cash payment at multiple locations and she still asked for it four times and had me give it to her promising it would work. Of course it didn’t work and I think she was just trying to steal my card number so now in addition to spending an hour off the clock with them I’m on the phone ordering and paying for a new card.

So easy to send money. Hello, So I went to the store to send money to my nephew this morning and was told the store opens at 8:00, I was there 7:38 am. I could not wait so long for the store to be open for me to use the money gram transfer they Ofer so I remember I have the app. In 2 minutes, no waiting no line my transfer was done. So easy to use. No more standing in line again to send money.

Delay processing. On Tuesday, July 21st, 2020, I sent money from an us bank account to two Thai different bank accounts. MoneyGram received my money on July 22nd. MoneyGram sent me the email that the transfers had been sent on July 24th. I checked on application that I should receive the money on July 25th. Then I called them on July 27th at 12pm, the person on the phone told me that I should receive the money by today. Then I called again the next day on July 28th, the different person told me that I should receive it in couple days. If not, I can called them back. My aunt received the money on July 29and I received my money to my thai bank account on July 30. It was very frustrating because it was a big amount of money. !!!PLEASE BE AWARE!!!

Good company to send your money. I’m enjoying moneygram because this morning I was gonna go to the store for my money transfer with another company that I used to send money with, as they charged me too much on their app. My cousin referred me to moneygram and I tried it, I was more than happy because the first transfer is free from fee. So, I will always use money for my transfers to help my family in my country.

We’re sorry! Some parameters are not valid in your request …. This is the message I keep getting after putting through the send money request several times over to pass three days, called and talk to reps twice..they says my account is in good standing and open nothing they can do, except advise me to go to the store and do transaction..which is impossible for me hence the reason I use the app to send money…this is one of the most annoying things that can happen. I have been using MG for many, many years NOW THIS!?!?!?

Transaction by Bank deposit to Burkina-Faso. This was my first time using Moneygram (Western Union was always famous, found everywhere and better, that’s why I never used moneygram in the past). I sent money as a BANK DEPOSIT and sent it to my account in BURKINA-FASO since the option was available and I only had to enter my bank IBAN number. Unfortunately, my transactions were declined twice with no valid reasons. Customer representative are useless since they can’t tell you WHY it did not go through since there was no mistakes in the names/bank. Anyway, this confirm how useless this app is. On top of that, you have to wait until 10 business days for the refund! No thank you. I will stick to SIKACASH and SHAREMONEY for bank deposit outside of the U.S!

Horrible Customer Service. MoneyGram is great when it works but awful when it doesn’t. My transaction was declined and when I called customer service to try and figure out why they said they did not know, I spoke with Edgar in the Nicaragua call center, when I asked to speak to his supervisor because he would probably know why my transaction was declined, Edgar refused to transfer my call, when I asked him when I would receive my refund he said there was an error in his system and he didn’t know, when I asked to speak to someone else he told me to fill out a complaint form online and that my complaint would be resolved in up to 90 days! The worst customer service I have ever received!

Rates ridiculously high. The rate is way too high than the other institutions along with the fees. MoneyGram was created way to long ago but they don’t even have the name of my country on the list where I should be able to send money directly into my bank account. They only have a few of them. I use other instructions that were created way after MoneyGram but they have better rates and acceptable fees and I am able to send money into my bank account in my home country.

Fast and easy. I have money gram over 10 years, frist in US bank then Winco, last one Walmart. I don’t know they have online service, Until I went to Walmart but no Custmer Service to send money for me so I have to find the way to send money to support my family. Thank you Walmart guy didn’t show off that day make me find the way easier to send money gram on line.

Constant changes; won’t include full names. The fees and processing times are constantly changing. I used to be able to just select my bank account with instant deposit. Now it redirects me to my bank page to enter my credentials and then takes 4 days for the transfer. Several times my recipients were unable to receive the transfer because their names were incomplete on the MoneyGram record even though I entered the full name in the transaction. So, ‘optional’ middle names do not appear in the transfer.

One of the worst services I’ve used. Send all the money you want but good luck picking any up from the many MoneyGram locations that either never have cash, or are closed for the day for no reason, or who’s computers aren’t working. I was told there was no money somewhere because it was too late, I returned the following morning and was told there’s no money there because it’s too early. And I wanted to cancel the transaction and they still charge for the fees… The ONLY good thing to come from this app was I got exercise walking all over town for a day and a half to find one place I could pick up from. Still haven’t found it. My time would’ve been better spent panhandling.
