Helped me pass college. I’ve always been bad with time management, especially during studying or staying on schedule. I watched a video where Jordan Peterson said if you want to succeed, split your goal into measurable units. I chose time as my unit to get stuff done. Purchasing the extra features were worth it so I can customize my study time and how many sessions before I get a break. So worth it!! Next thing you know, I was getting assignments done, I was aware of the time and able to catch the bus, and slip in some study time if I was in between classes. I did amazing my last semester of college and graduated. I wonder why I didn’t use it before. I highly recommend to anyone!!

Effective for studying but underhanded in selling pro version. I’ve never written a review for an app before but I felt like I had to warn other people. First of all, credit where it is due, this app is effective. It is set to the traditional pomodoro technique as a default: four rounds of 25/5 minute study/break sessions followed by a longer break. I found it worked very well when I was studying. When I was poking around in the settings I noticed there were some settings that I couldn’t change without buying the “Pro” version. That’s normal. HOWEVER hidden at the bottom of the settings menu is a button labeled “Restore Pro” which when I clicked it, bought the Pro version of the app without giving me a chance to authenticate it. I didn’t intend to buy the Pro version. Because of the underhanded tactics I can’t give it 5 stars.

Not too rigid, but you still need self control!. I love this app because you can also customize The timer based on your own needs. It’s not rigid. So if you’re in a good work flow and don’t really want to stop when it tells you to stop, you just skip the break time to go into the next round. Only thing is that it only starts and stops if you tell it too, so it’s not as disciplinary. Also, it does not lock you from going on snapchat or wherever, so it really is just mind power and self control to not do anything other than work during those 25/whatever minutes. What would be cool is if they had a note/to do setting where if you think of something that you want to be worried about later, you can write it down there and then the break time shows and reminds you the things you quick typed down before. Amazing regardless.

So helpful with my Adult ADHD!!!. After being diagnosed with ADHD in my late adulthood, meeting in my late 20s… LOL, I had to find ways to figure out how to manage my focus. Even with medication, I still find myself focusing on the wrong things. But this app has been extremely helpful in reminding me to take breaks, and then use my super power of hyperfocus to get things done. I definitely recommend this to a lot of people who are struggling with distractions, and one thing that I would change, is being able to set a title during each focus session so that I know exactly what I should be focusing on. I use stickies at the moment and then crumble them when I’m done (which is so rewarding). Definitely will be using this... without I think I would be homeless because I wouldn’t get any work done. I rarely leave reviews, but this is the GOAT of focus apps. Good job!! (And this comes from a UX Designer btw 🤓)

Best Pomodoro app available!. I’ve been using this app for years and finally I am getting around to reviewing it. I think I’ve probably been using this app on and off for work since circa 2016. I originally tried a number of different Pomodoro focus apps, but ultimately I came back to this one because of its simplicity, customization options and the selection of sounds and alerts. Personally, I like to listen to the noises of the coffee shop while I’m working and then the waves when I’m on my break. A couple years ago I finally broke down and paid for the premium version and I’m glad I did. To pay a small one time fee to be able to use this app whenever and however I want is obviously worth the cost! Keep it up developers of Focus Keeper!

Great app. It is very very useful for studying. This technique is great but what’s even better is that this app is so simple and provides such a wonderful experience even without paying. There are absolutely no ads and everything functions the way it should. I did end up buying it because it was very cheap to do so and because I used it so much, it was worth the payment of $0.99. With the paid version you just get to tweak things and change things to suit you better but even without the paid version, it’s still so amazing. I decided to change the time intervals to suit me and after a while I just reverted back to the suggested time because it just worked the best for me. I highly recommend this app for its usefulness and because I am thankful to the creators for not bombarding me with ads and making the nonpaid experience perfect!

Almost perfect—almost.. You can’t ask much from these apps. It does everything it needs to. I love the UI and the way you set the time. There’s only one thing that frustrates me about this app. Why can’t you mute it? I would be watching a video on my iPad and have to switch to a different device due to the incessant ticking. I’m not saying remove the sound(I like it at certain times), but the sound makes it unusable whenever I need to have a video open alongside the app. I love everything else about this, but until that changes I have to use a different pomodoro timer. Looking forward to that being addressed!

GET IT. My therapist recommended a Pomodoro Timer to help my ADD. I had to use a few apps before I found one that fit well. I love this app! It helps me stay focused on the task I need to complete. I’ve completed chores I’ve put off for months. Hearing the timer helps my brain stay on track. It’s also given me a realistic idea of how much time it really takes to complete something which has eliminated the feeling of overwhelm before I start something. I also look forward to the breaks! The only issue I have is I wish you could Label the task you’re working on to look back on what you’ve completed. This may be possible with the paid version however I use the free.

The only way I get things done these days. I don’t have ADHD (as far as I know), but I do have focus issues that can make it difficult to be productive for long periods, and I have a lot of stuff to do (including school prep) on which I fall behind if I’m not consistent in my working habits. This app helps me get a LOT more done on a consistent basis and track how well I’m doing over a two-week to one-month period. I paid for the pro upgrade pretty much on the first day because I knew I’d be using the app to death and having the ability to customize everything is a huge help. One weird bug I’ve come across is that when I pick a time for the round and goals to reset, it always picks the time one hour before that. I’ve learned to work around this — it’s just a little odd and can be annoying if you don’t catch it when picking a new reset time. Otherwise, I have no major complaints — the app works beautifully. It would be nice to be able to use it in split view on iPad, but that’s more of a request than a complaint.

My favorite Pomodoro timer. Of the many Pomodoro technique timers I’ve downloaded on my phone and desktop to help me stay focused during my work sprints, this has by far been my favorite. I’m a stickler for good, intuitive UX, especially when it comes to productivity apps. The last thing I need when trying to get work done is an app that takes too long to customize or setup! I love that I can readjust my focus segments right there on the timer page with a simple slider, rather than being forced into the options to make a universal change. That way, my focus segments can fit any sort of scheduling fluctuations or preferences that day. Signals and alarms when the segments are up are loud enough over any background focus music I’m using, but aren’t jarring. Overall, I highly recommend this app for anyone needing help to focus and get work done with a simple setup!

Amazing for anyone!. As someone who gets distracted very easily and procrastinates so much, this was amazing for me. I am actually writing this review during my short break. I love how the ticking noise is available to go on in the background. As much as I thought it would bother me, it really doesn’t. It helps me keep in line and focused. I like the reminds that it gives you after a break or session is over too! I have not gone pro yet but possibly in the future I would. And it’s so cheap for so much! I can’t forget how I like how you can adjust the time if you feel that you are on a streak and don’t want to stop yet. It’s amazing! I better get back to writing my English paper now haha. Great app! I recommend it for anyone of all ages!

Making Pomodoro flexible and personal. First of all, I started using Pomodoro as an older person to help with my arthritis by forcing myself to take short breaks from working on the computer. After success with this I began personalizing by varying work session and break sessions according to what I am doing : meditating, cooking, cleaning. It basically reminds me to keep an alternating standing and moving around vs. sitting time schedule. When I have a particularly difficult task, I use it as a reward system — I extend the long break and take a walk or read a book. I keep a 12 session schedule, and then give myself the evening off — or, alternately take the morning off and begin at noon. I am much more productive, in less pain, and suffer a lot less guilt since I began using Pomodoro.

Nuther ADHD/ND approved. I knew this technique existed, but this app made it so easy to implement. There are three different phases to this timer, and five “rounds”: two 25-min work rounds, two 5-min break rounds, and one 25-min break round. Each different phase has a different sound to it, so it’s easy to know which round is happening without having to pick up your phone and reset. This is a HUGE bonus for me, since picking up my phone is focus suicide. You can leave this open, even with your phone on silent, and still hear the time ticking away, which is enough auditory stimulation for me to focus on what I’m doing. It will go through the phases without you having to touch anything. This is all for free, by the way. Additional customization options are available for a one-time purchase, but the app can stand on its own without these. Perfect! I use this on my iPhone 7 for refs sake

Very simple clean UI with good product focus. I bought the pro Version of this app, and I really appreciate the focus of “focus” app (pun intended). Not a ton of bloated features, just the focus intervals (and plenty of customizations to look and feel / interval timings). I use this app while coding to get focused tasks done. In a world of slack messages, iMessages, emails, social media and noisy app notifications, it’s amazing we are able to get anything done at all. Additionally, these constant distractions, without breaks, cause stress response in the body. This app helps me be more sustainable as a developer, and take better care of my mental and emotional well being. UPDATE: edited to four stars, because a Apple Watch app for this would be epic. Using some haptic taps to signify breaks versus work.…😍

Easy to use and definitely more focused. I like how user friendly this app is!! It’s easily customizable with a simple interfacing allowing minimal distractions. It keeps me accountable for myself. I like getting the notifications letting me know I haven’t used it in a while/“time to get focused”. There is a big difference in my work efficiency when I use this app and when I don’t. (The former being more effective.) I recommended this app to multiple ppl and it has helped them too. I also tried tomato timer using just a regular timer when I didn’t feel like using the app. I think the app is better because of the interface and automatic breaks and focus timers disallowing any pause in between!! Another positive: the small bell announcing the end or start of break is definitely better than the alarm sounds.

Got me through crunch-time studying. We’ve all had the heart-dropping-through-stomach, holy-guacamole-I-haven’t-even-STARTED-my-10-page-Literature-paper-due-tomorrow feeling, and it’s a feeling that leaves us hopelessly overwhelmed! I didn’t know what else to do other than, like my fellow Gen Z’ers, to consult my mobile phone (this here iPhone) and seek the counsel of the App Store gods. Profs have recommended to me the Pomodoro technique (4 rounds of 25 minutes working, 5 minute breaking followed by a longer break—I thought it sounded silly but silly is perhaps the best option once you’ve hit rock bottom!) and I knew I couldn’t trust myself to keep myself accountable for the time intervals, so why not use the app? Super simple, no frills, honestly not very fun either but I guess that’s the point, lol. 12/10 would recommend to a friend (or even an enemy). Paper still isn’t done, but here’s to 25-on, 5-off for the rest of this fine evening! Cheers

Solid, but with a couple key flaws. While this version of the app has more features than the previous, I have two main complaints. The first is that the app icon’s badge no longer reflects how much time you have left in a session. I relied on this to quickly command-tab while writing and see how much time I had left without overly interrupting my work flow. Now I must go all the way into the app to find this information, which is more disruptive. Second, and more fatally, this is now a subscription app. While I understand that developers would like to have a steady income, not every little app (such as a timer) warrants constant payments. I appreciate that the developers may feel that the added functionality warrants this, but for what I want, which is a simple pomodor-style timer, the cost is just too much. Think I’ll stick with the one-time $2 payment “pro” version and hope that keeps working.

Must have for university students.. I love this app. I use it every day for school work. I’ll keep it open on my phone so anytime I start to get distracted and pick up my phone, the bright red screen and timer pops up to remind me I’m on the clock. It makes dreadful tasks less dreadful because there is always an end in sight. It makes me feel productive because I can visibly see how much I’ve gotten done. I really like to spend the work period working, and the break period cleaning or doing chores. It’s a good way to be active in between long periods of sitting, keeps me awake, and is a nice way to get chores done in short periods that would have otherwise been spent scrolling on my phone. The pomodoro timer is an excellent way to put some much needed routine into my study sessions.

Great app, but.... So I’ve only been using this for a few days to help keep my focus on work at home instead of all the background activity that I don’t usually have when I was working in the office. Generally speaking, I really do like this and find it easier to keep my focus on my tasks knowing I’ve got a short break coming up. I like the functionality of the app - I appreciate the simplicity and ease in using it. My only complaint is that, if I have to switch apps, it will stop the clock. I know the point is to focus, but my employer is using a VOIP app to let us answer our calls via our mobile phones while at home, meaning I don’t really have a choice about switching between this and the phone app. But, when I switch back, the timer has often stopped. And, if I forget to switch back and check it, then I’m often sitting there thinking to myself that it seems like a really long 25 minutes! If this bug was fixed, I would absolutely give this app 5 stars.

Amazingly Helpful. It's extremely helpful in keeping you focused on any task. There's something about it where you feel satisfied and also like you owe it to the app and yourself to continue. 25 minutes doesn't seem long, and if you do face a passage of your work that isn't capturing your interest, you know that you only need to try until the break, and you'll be able to step away for a few minutes and relax. I'll never study or write papers without this app again. Nothing captures my attention and keeps it more than this app. I could have all the time in the world, but be unable to stick to a schedule, but with this, I can keep myself absolutely focus and undistracted for hours. I only feel accomplishment and pride in what I've done. I cannot recommend this app enough!

Gets the Job Done. I really enjoy this application, as someone with ADD having such a tool is really helpful to keep me organized and staying on task with a sustained amount of energy. However, I do wish that the long break time could be tweaked without having the PRO version and also it’d be nice if there could be a checklist where there’s a task I’m working on for 4 rounds. There’s a similar application (that has the qualities I stated aboveI prefer over this one, that I use on my laptop. (I forget the name, and my laptops broken, but it’s in the App Store). I will be trying other pomodoro timers to see if there’s a better fit- but this definitely does the job with a clean not-distracting look! I hope my thoughts don’t seem too jumbled in this review, lol.

NEW UPDATE RUINED IT. I use to love the previous version of Focus Keeper. It was simple and effective, I was able to pause the time and exit the app and still have my study time saved for the day so I could pick up where I had left off. I would’ve given this a 5/5 if it weren’t for the new version. The new version seems more complicated and just unnecessary, the features are the same but there are many times when I have to pause my timer, for example at the time 12/25 minutes, and exit the app. Then, I suddenly lose my study hours and it goes back to beginning with 25 minutes. This used to not happen with the previous version at all! This is extremely frustrating for me because there are times when I really have to pause the timer and go to another app, but when I come back to the app I’d expect to pick up to where I left off. Really hope they improve this version or set it back to the previous version, because the previous version was very simple and effective, with no lags at all.

Almost perfect, the best I've used so far. I really enjoy this app - it has a clean interface (with NO ads in the free version - much appreciated) and the option to tweak the length of each type of work or break session. It also includes long sessions & breaks, which many of the apps I've tried that rival this one to me, do not include - very big plus, and truer to the pomodoro technique. The only thing so far I can complain about is that the sound alert for new sessions does not take priority over things like music or videos playing in the background - pretty much every other app that has a sound alert will slightly lower the volume of whatever you have playing to allow the chime to be heard, but this one gets drowned out. I either have to not have music playing, or have the app idle and visible so I can notice the sessions changing. I'm not really satisfied with being able to up the volume of the alert - I'd really appreciate if this were updated.

Great Tool for Those with ADHD. I've been diagnosed with ADHD for about 10 years now, and as such, I've been through quite a few apps when trying to figure out a method of studying. I know this isn't the only place to access a pomodoro timer but it is definitely my favorite. The app is super intuitive to use (just hit a button to start and you're good to go). Even the price for pro is something I'd consider paying if you find it worth it. Normally, I scoff when I see the price of the "premium" version of an app, when in reality it's just a paywall to ensure I have to pay money to get the true functionality of the app, but Focus Keeper is super affordable and actually doesn't limit much by having pro features. All you really need the app for is the timer, and it's got that covered. The only thing you miss out on by not going pro is having a breakdown of your stats and editing the length of timers.

Awesome app, but most features require subscription. This is an absolutely fantastic app for structuring your time trying to be productive. I use it almost every day for work. I believe I paid less than $10 to unlock all the features back when this was a one-time purchase. Now it is a $6/year subscription. Yes, it’s very cheap, but I wish they had just kept it as a one-time purchase for newcomers. Thankfully I’m grandfathered into the Pro version with my initial purchase. I just had to go to the app settings and select “restore pro” to get all my features back. I can’t comment on the “tasks” part of the app since it seems pretty basic and unnecessary. Personally, I already use Todoist (another excellent productivity app) for task management.

Deserving of 5 stars but missing 2 features. So for starters, I love this app. It’s relatively simple, the interface is great. I love that it gives you data about your studying and where the time went. I pay for the premium version. Here’s my complaints, or suggestions. 1) Dev’s can you please make it so that I can manually add time?! I hate when I study for 10 minutes and then realize I forgot my timer. My total hours studied is never accurate because of this. 2) Allow multiple graphs which you can assign task to specific graphs. For example I would love to use this as a study timer for school as well as guitar. It shows me the time, and allows me to see where it was all spent. It’s perfect for both my hobby and school. It’d be wonderful if I could have two seperate graphs one for guitar and one for school. 3) *not really bothered by this but still… I’d love it if you guys allowed tags for sessions and sorting by them. For example if I look back on Wednesday I can see the red tag meaning that was a day I was sleep deprived, and I studied x on that day. Now it makes a little more sense why for some reason I just don’t remember that content as well. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this if you see it dev’s.

Very Simple & Intuitive. It's been forever since I've rated an app, but this simple tool helped me perform my best on my recent exam, as well focusing and studying smarter as well. Normally i just try to use my own pomodoro techniques and take mini breaks, but even i get sidetracked and want to linger on my social media a little longer. So having this app is handy, not only for reminders, but also keep track of my study sessions and mini breaks/progress as well. Because of this and because it's aided me to study 'smarter' and to study more efficiently, I've upgraded to the pro and I found it to be worth it (: You just have to believe and push yourself to the best of your ability whether it's in school or for work purposes, just do it. And before using this app, i was overwhelmed with information and which resources to utilize, but having something handy like this, really helped me A LOT. 5/5 😌

I use it everyday. This time is so simple and elegant. The timer just works and the interface is clutter free. I appreciate that there is a calculator that shows how much time you would be spending in Focus when setting up the rounds, which I find helps me stay realistic with my focus goals. I do about 8 rounds in a work day, which is about 4.5 hours of focus, and usually takes a whole work day. With this feature I can let myself off the hook for not working enough because I am not working “16 hours a day” as so many people in my field like to trumpet. When I can complete my work ahead of schedule with a regular rhythm of focus, all the workaholic unrealistic expectations start to dissolve One feature that’s keeping this from being a five star review is that there is no option to have a sustained alarm to alert the end of a long break. When it’s the end of a long break usually I am away from my phone far enough that the one time ding doesn’t register to me until it’s too late and I need to reset the focus timer.

ADHD??? This is your GOD SEND!!!. ADHD?? This is your GOD Send!! I have only been using this APP since this morning and I have already managed to complete several tasks with minimal interference! I’m beyond amazed! Nothing has ever worked for me. Squirrel Moments as my husband fondly calls them would overtake my days to the point that at the end of the day I hadn’t actually accomplished anything but had managed to begin at least 4 or 5 more projects!!! All of my “Projects” would remain unfinished until I HAD to complete one! Even then a 1 hour task, could and usually did, take upwards of 4 or 5 hours and even then maybe still not be completed but always another 3 or 4 would be in the works!! I’m not kidding you! Since this morning I have started and completed one project and finished 3 that were in the works!!! Hallelujah!!! And it’s only 2:15pm!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this App, I’m deleting all the rest except for AnyList!! I use that one daily and now I can actually get everything at the grocery that’s “On the List “. Before AnyList, I always lost the list! 😂 Anyway get this! You will Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙌👍😀

ADHD life saver. Are your projects ever so big you don’t know where to start? Or do you struggle to see the trees from the forest when you get too interested in something? I admit this is the first app of time cycling I have tried so I don’t have experience with competitors but this app has been a lifesaver. Making sure I have planned breaks helps me stop going even if I really want to continue. This avoids me wasting time when I get lost in the trees and not seeing the forest. The 5 min breaks are also nice. They save me from taking a break to do something and never getting back on task because one thing leads to another. Thanks for developing a tool that is so simple but at the same time so valuable. This gives me structure in a sea of unending curiosity and saves me from just jumping from one thing to the next. I agree with others that in a further iteration of the app it would be wonderful to label focus sessions. Linking to a calendar or even a graph to get visual representation of time spent would also be an awesome features.

Very helpful. I downloaded this app because I couldn’t get myself to study, I kept either overworking myself studying for hours without a break and could hardly remember anything or just took hour long breaks and couldn’t get myself to focus on studying. With the help of this app I was able to quickly and easily go through my studying without wasting time looking at the paper with no motivation. I find it best to have a 5 minute break every 25-30 mins (which is how long the average person can focus) and with the help of this app I am usually done within 3 hours (usually it took me a whole day, now I have more time) Another thing that I absolutely appreciate about this app is that the free version doesn’t have any ads and that you can use the most important function without paying. I also love the little ring that rings whenever I have a break (you can turn it off!)

ADHD / ADD APPROVED!!! Yes!!!. Wow! Never in a million years would I have thought that I would gain effective productivity with an app, such as this one! I suffer from anxiety and uncontrollable ADD and my medication to control this challenge, lately, has been effective for my energy (caffeine boost), but I needed something to support me, in addition, to my focus concerns. I have been extremely behind on my work assignments which increases the negative behaviors through my anxiety. I find that I do well, with my medications, combined with a simple tool or self-challenge to hold myself more accountable toward my efforts (or ability) to complete my massive load!!! This app is beyond simple and user friendly and that’s all you need to get your task DONE!!!! I love the fact that I have the ability to change the countdown times, however I see fit for myself in the moment of. I have literally been more productive in my very first time of using this app, that I have in MONTHS! This is my new life saver and I would totally recommend this to ANYONE with ADD/ ADHD. I feel more accomplished and at ease because I am getting my work caught up in long sittings!!! The routine breaks are perfect!!! Prior to the app, I had my life coach advise this on and off rotation for my condition, but it’s not as beneficial or effective as an app that can track your progress! I’m grateful! I think this app saved my job as a director!!! Wow.

New version is terrible. There is no option for silence during a focus session, and then seamlessly switching to ticking or rain or whatever during breaks. I used to enjoy hearing the difference between break and work. Now, if I have it muted, because I don’t want sound while I’m working, I will miss the sound that alerts me to break time. I’ve never been able to use the music feature, but even now, I can’t even switch to “music” and let it be silent. The task list makes no sense and doesn’t help. Instead of seeing how many minutes are left in a session from the Home Screen on my iPad (it used to show minutes left in the corner of the icon just like any app with alerts), it shows how many tasks I have left, or just nothing if I don’t have tasks and am only using the timer. Moving to a task-based system for a timer is just weird. Focus keeper app is now absolutely useless. I cannot use it like this. Please revert back. This is one of the few apps I’ve ever paid for the full version of because I really liked it and used it all the time. Now I can’t use it at all. The new changes have totally eliminated every useful feature the app had. I don’t know how to further stress the point that the new changes have made the app unusable, as in, any feature a person would want from a pomodoro timer app is no longer included in the app.

Excellent Timer with Minor Suggestions. Overall excellent Pomodoro timer that has helped me focus, particularly when working on long, concentration intensive projects. I’ve recommended this to many friends due to the straightforward interface. There is something important to note regarding the paid version. While you can set up multiple tasks with the paid version, you can’t switch between tasks and keep your Pomodoro session going. For example, if you completed two sessions for a responding to email task , if you switch to another task for you lose all progress towards the longer break. I’d like to support the devs for all the help this app has been with completing work, but this choice related to multiple tasks defeats the purpose of even setting up multiple tasks.

This app is game changing. I am so glad that I gave this app a try today. Ever since I was young, I struggled with my ability to focus and read material for long period of time. I foolishly thought that buckling down and trying to get through long readings/tasks in one setting was the key to efficiency, and boy was I wrong. This app is so incredibly helpful in increasing my productivity. Normally I struggle with reading upwards of 30+ pages of homework/other material in one day. Only using this app for one day, I have been able to read over 100 pages without feeling any sort of burnt out. The Pomodoro method that this app is meant to emulate is ingenious, and is a game changer in the realm of productivity and self improvement.

Effective yet imperfect. The app has a great idea and is really simple to use. I like the ticking as a background noise, personally, but it can be shut off for when you aren't studying alone or when it gives you a touch of anxiety about the work. The only thing I didn't particularly find helpful was the pause button on the timer. It allowed me to take breaks during the supposed "work time," so I found myself getting distracted with friends and texts and food... you name it. I guess the good thing about that is when you have the ability to pause for little things like shooting a text to a friend or getting a snack, it keeps you working for the entire work period (default 25 mins). Overall highly recommend the app, as I would have taken much longer to do these assignments without it!

Just about perfect - one minor adjustment. This app is exactly as simple as it needs to be. Easy to maneuver, easy to set and allows you to customise colours/tones for personal preference. HOWEVER, one slight adjustment that I would make is that you can currently only set a different tone to denote the end of a long break, however it would be more useful to have a different tone to denote the beginning of a long break. I try to avoid any interaction with my phone when I am working (and therefore using this app) and naturally I use my breaks differently when I have a long break compared to a short break. At the moment, I have to check the timer to see if I have a short or long break but it would be much more preferable to avoid having the pull my phone out as that reintroduces the distractor.

Extreme privacy data collection. I downloaded this and ditched it after going to their link and reading their privacy policies. They are quite extreme, and be skeptical if the developer replies and makes it sound like you can opt out of them. Their own site says in clear terms that opting out makes the app basically nonfunctional. I’ve used many apps, including having tried several Pomodoro apps, and this is one of the worst as far as your privacy rights. Your personal data should not be for sale or shared with entities like Facebook, Google, and others for advertising or ANY purposes. You’re already paying a subscription fee. There are other issues like their statement that they can retain your data as long as needed, but they don’t tell you what that period is after you delete your app. Flimsy wording like this is a sign of a developer who only has his own interests in mind, and I refuse to patronize developers who gather and share my personal data to this extent. Privacy matters. Regardless of any possible future response by the developer to downplay these issues I’ve mentioned, I encourage you to click the link and read their privacy policy for yourself.

Great all-around. I like this app because unlike other apps similar to it, you can leave your phone on do not disturb and still get the notifications from this app. That way, this app helps you stay on track without getting distracted by other phone notifications. It also allows you to skip, shorten, and extend breaks and work sessions. This app also automatically resets the timer for each new day as you sleep (you can change the time for it to reset in settings if you're typically up past midnight). One slightly annoying thing is that if you get a phone call while the timer is going, it will automatically pause itself when the call ends.

Good but ignores the whole point. App is good and subscribed upfront as soon as I saw there were individual settings for tasks - perfect! and watch app… BUT you’re ignoring the very essential point of having a focus app: no distractions! And ONLY having an iOS app takes us to the source of all distractions in the universe: our phones!!! Watch app is crap, just a timer basically with no complications, very disappointing… ok if your task is a workout (there’re better apps for that!) but useless overall. For anyone that uses for work, the ideal would be having a MacOS app or that the website synced the tasks when logged in… but the app doesn’t create an account for you and, even subscribing, the website seems to be a different thing because you may create an account with the same email used for subscribing the app that nothing happens! App and website are not synced or seem to be related at all. Anyway, what looked perfect doesn’t seem so good when put to work in real life. I’m not sure I’ll keep using the app. Hope you address these soon.

Completely Changes the WFH Balance. After switching from 5-6 days a week in the office, to COVID and working from home, I really struggled to balance everything. Somehow the load of laundry or the dishes in the sink were very hard to ignore while trying to focus on work. I found myself constantly distracted, only able to focus on work when household tasks were done (which of course they never are!) This app changed my life. The structure of working for 25 minutes with a 5 minute break allows for focus time, and then I can take 5 minutes to switch the laundry or empty the dishwasher, which really helps to keep the work-life balance actually balanced. Four repeats of a “block” equals 8 hours of focus, which also makes a very tangible way to work 8 hours during your day. And this is broken up by 30 minute breaks between each two hour block, which I find helps me produce higher quality work throughout the day, while also giving me time to keep up with housework. I highly recommend focus keeper to anyone struggling to work from home and keep their work life balance.

Changed My Life!. I absolutely cannot believe how much more productive I am in my work, professionally and personally, when I use Focus Keeper. I am an editor/writer working from home, and both my work assignments and my housekeeping tasks were all slow, unfocused, and disorganized before I found this app. Now, with Focus Keeper, I work faster in my job, and during my 5-minute breaks, I always get up and move around. Since I’m not sitting as long at one time, I don’t get as stiff and uncomfortable as I used to, and—bonus—I get so many little household chores accomplished during those brief breaks of five minutes throughout the day (things that I have successfully put off for days, weeks, months...years). I love this app! Thank you, Focus Keeper!

Best Pomodoro Timer You Can Get!!. Trust me I’ve scoped them all, even written a couple myself (via Shortcuts), but this is the best app on the AppStore if you’re often distracted, unmotivated, or suffer from adult ADHD. I definitely upgraded to pro, worth it to customize my chimes (Pavlov conditioning myself haha), and set the background colors to something I enjoy glancing at all day. The main benefit of this app in my opinion is the tracking/data analytic aspect they perfectly built in. The only thing I wish this app had was a text box you could enter your current task into so that it was present on-screen while the work-session timer is counting down. All in all this is my favorite and most used app whenever I have big tasks to work on or if I ever feel my productivity isn’t at the level where I know it can be. Highly recommend my friends! Edit: One other note, seems the chime settings are a bit backwards. I guess I expect to set the chime sound that would start the session. For example when setting the Focus Alarm to News Is expect that sound to play when I’m going into a new Focus session however I have to set this sound to the other two breaks to get this to play how I intend since the sound for Focus Alarm actually plays when that session is over.

Work Smarter and Get More Accomplished. Focus Keeper enables me intense focus for my studies. By breaking up study sessions into 25 minute blocks it is never too daunting to get started. The 5 minute breaks are a fantastic respite and keep me from getting off task while I study (when I get tempted by a distraction I think, “No, I’ll do that when the bell rings.”) And the 25 minutes FLY and I get super absorbed in the content. Five minute break is plenty and then I easily dive back in. I like this system so much that I even use it to motivate myself to complete chores that I am prone to put off. 25 minutes cleaning out a closet, 5 minute break, 25 minutes more cleaning closet, etc. I tutor students and I introduce this app to each of them. Most LOVE it.

Pretty Decent. A simple but effective app to prevent burnout while working or studying (I use it for studying Japanese). The Pomodoro method helps not only with keeping you at your peak of attention span, but also helps with the much more subtle fear that feeds wandering attention and procrastination: the fear that the workload will never end. It's perfect and very comforting for overwhelming tasks that you dread sitting down to tackle. The app itself is so visually simple, it doesn't distract, but reassures you in an easy to read timer. Personally, I customized it, turning off the tick tick sounds on the work sessions and the long break- on work sessions I found it to be stressful, and who wants a timer ticking loudly on their long break away from work? The ticking works well though for the short breaks, to keep you mindful that they're brief. There's also a reminder that rings every Monday at 2pm, suggesting that you plug in for a session, which I rather found adorable. It's kept me from dropping the app and forgetting it, and as a result, put in more regular study time.

If you have ADHD, get this. This app is an essential tool for those with ADHD or with any kind of trouble focusing. You turn on the timer, turn off your screen, and then just work until you hear the ding. Then you can rest easy knowing you have a pre-timed break. When you hear another ding, you get back to work. Repeat a few times and you get a longer break. The app does all the timing for you. No need to set ten thousand reminders, you automatically get notified when work time and break time are over. Also, if the default settings for the app (25 min of work, 5 min break) aren't effective for you, you can easily set the times to be different. Maybe you do better with 30 min of work and five minute breaks. An hour of work and 10 minute breaks? You can play around until it fits you. You can also turn off the ticking if it distracts you. This app will not solve everything. You still have to have the willpower to commit to your work. You still have to summon up the strength to start. It won't give you magic concentration powers. It will give you a nice structure with which it is much easier to do your work. Seriously, make use of this great tool.

Helping me through my roughest day. If I have a day of intense productivity (aka hyperfocus), I suffer from brain fog for the next few days, sometimes even a whole week. Today is one those days. I was struggling through the most basic tasks. I couldn’t even focus for a 5 minute stretch in order to answer my work emails. This app is a lifesaver for my ADHD brain. I turned on the White Noise app and set the timer for 10 minutes. So far I’ve been able to complete 3 cycles of 10 minutes each. I’ve now bumped it up to 15 minutes. Hopefully the apps will carry me through the day. Update 10/6 - I have one complaint about the way the app functions. I have it installed on my iPhone. It seems to stop randomly and it doesn’t restart itself or even alert me to let me know that I need to restart it. I don’t know if it stops when I get a text message or a phone call or if a calendar alert pops up. I’m so focused on my work (or trying to be focused re:ADHD). I only realize that the timer has stopped when I switch to it to see how much time is left until my next break. It’s very frustrating.

Great for Procrastinators. This app is a great resource to use to successfully space out your time. One thing I learned about me and other procrastinators is that we often over calculate how much time we need for breaks from productivity. Constant excuses keep people from staying on task, and that’s how time loss happens. This app has really helped me to stay focused because you always know there will be a break after a certain period of work, while also not overdoing it. I like to go with the 25:5 ratio, but you can adjust your times according to your needs. This has helped me keep it a habit to be productive with my time, and it’s really easy to use. Definitely suggest you try it out for a few days and see how it goes! (Because it’s really helpful!)

Best and most simple app ever!!. I love this app. It was recommended to me by a friend and I can’t stop using it. It’s really hard for me to stay focused and productive throughout my day. I find myself side tracked easily and always wanting to socially browse. When I got this app to try out I wasn’t sure it was going to work because I’ve used self timers before. But for some reason the presentation of the timer, the ticking sound of the clock showing time passing by, makes me more motivated to stay focused and get my stuff done. I only have the free version but I am looking at getting the pro so I can set my own goals and times. 100% recommend this app!! And I also never rate things but thought this app was worth it!!

LOL! So many other ADHD reviews! Yes!. This is a game changer for me. It’s an external structure for organizing your time. Because if you have ADHD, you DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL ONE. The cue in between breaks and focus time is the most pleasant little ding. Working from home has been awful for me because brain wants to putter and clean house, but I HAVE to get work done. This easily helps me tick tock between 25 minutes of HAVE TO and 5 minutes of putter/ping around. I can stop myself from wandering off to do the thing I want to do because I’m anticipating my break. I can stick it out because I can see that it’s just another 14 minutes until I can do all the little “oh! I ought to…” tasks. ♥️♥️♥️

It works right away. So simple and effective. I love the ticking old clock sound. I'm seeing exactly where I've been losing time, thinking things took less time than they truly do and this app shows me how long I'm taking to get stuff done. Ideal for me. Get me out of perfection mode.

Great app. I really like this app. Allows for a lot of personalisation on how you use it. You can change the time for each session and breaks. There’s lots of functionality for the free version and it’s so simple to use. Works great for a year 12 student wanting to stick to time and maintain better focus. Makes my studying easier and more efficient. Thanks

Great App!. I have found this app incredibly useful for exam study. It's very simply laid out with enough features to be functional but not so many that it becomes cluttered and confusing. The idea behind it is great. And for me who doesn't usually belief in taking breaks, I can go for hours and hours on end studying now because I take 5-10 minute breaks inbetween. Really changed my mind about study breaks. Love it :)

Only one issue - it keeps stopping.. The app works very well as long as it’s on an ipad that is only running it and does not lock - if it is put to the background I will often - intermittently so I can’t work out why - find that when I return to it, the timer has stopped - especially on my phone which I would prefer to use it on because I can take it with me during rest breaks. . (I have the “prevent lock” function on, it simply does not work.)

This app helped me to get work done. The pomodoro sounds silly. Using a timer for 25 minutes work, 5 minutes break? I shouldn’t need that. But for me it helps *enormously * to actually get work done. And this app is *excellent* I recommended it

Handy little app. Would be even better if it kept your study records for longer than a month - or if you could select to have your hours emailed to you for your records. My hours studied are tax deductible so I have to remember to record them before the month is over so I don't lose them.

Somewhat impractical. This app would be a lot more practical if it was able to automatically pause the timer once the iPad/phone screen went to sleep. It would also be useful to be able to change the hours in the “amount of hours studied” chart section. Often I forgot to pause the timer and the chart section becomes very inaccurate.

The best productivity app. I'm the queen of procrastination! This app is perfect for my university studies, especially at home doing assignments. The work intervals fly by and the short breaks allow you the time to do the things that would usually distract you. What I'm finding is that I am using the breaks to stretch and mobilise instead of aimlessly scrolling through social media.

Amazing. I am horrible at keeping focus while studying. The 25:5 ratio works a charm and my productivity is MUCH better! Makes your work less daunting when working with those small goals. I’m quite sensitive to noise but the constant ticking of the little ‘egg-timer’ noise really keeps me focused as well.

Used for YEARS - Never disappoints. I can’t use any other focus app! I’ve used this one for many years, and I want to use it for many more. It stuck with me through high school and through my university studies so far. I love how the timer is automatic so I don’t have to stress myself having to manually start it myself. My only problem is that the total focus time stats seem to glitch and return to zero sometimes, which makes it hard to track how productive I am each day. Still, I love this app!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Just quietly, I love FocusKeeper. Imagine a concept so simple it makes you instantly more productive. I’m easily distracted, but FocusKeeper gives me 25mins to work on something, without interruption. It means I stay on task no matter what. At the end of the day, I feel like I’ve achieved heaps. Thoroughly recommended. Five stars!

Background pauses and dev apathy are unacceptable. I’ve been using this app for a number of months. So long as it remains in the foreground, it behaves nicely. But once it goes into the background, the timer may keep running, or not. You may get push notifications of the timer finishing, or not. Irritatingly, the push notifications and the app can go out of sync. I bought an annual subscription and contacted the developer about this months ago. I have received no response. I’m happy to pay for good software and support, but I can’t accept paying for buggy software without any developer responsiveness.

Pomodoro dream!. Pomodoro is such a great way to study or work to stay focused. Features I like: -free version still has great functionality -simple timer interface -modifiable times for “focus” and “break” -prevents screen lock and is easy to see from a distance (red=focus blue=short break grey=long break) -transition “ding” between phases isn’t obnoxious -you can see your progress down the bottom Features I’d like to see: -a place in focus timer to note “distractions” to be done during short/long breaks

Love. Very simple and effective. Keeps me motivated and on task. I’d love it even more if I could save a couple of presets so I can set different focus times for exercise (interval training) and for different days of the week. As the nature of my work changes on different days, I’d love to be able to select from a couple of different focus times and sessions to suit my schedule without having to reset it all the time.

Awesome for Productivity. I'm a huge procrastinator, but with this app I've been able to stay focussed on my study. You get 5 X 25 min study sessions with 5 minute breaks in between and a long 25 mins break after the completion of the study sessions. It makes breaking down your study really easy. Highly recommend.

Fantastic! Was a life saver in year 12. This year I completed year 12, and whilst I was pretty good with no procrastination and sticking to the task, this app worked like a charm to keep me focussed and help me keep track of how long id studied for that day. It works as a tool for people to just begin working and keep working, or for those who like to organise their time more efficiently. Very easy to navigate and customise (I brought the full version which is really cheap). I especially love the colours and sounds for focus time( for example the cafe sounds take you far away to a place that you can be in a mind set to work)

Studying. App help keeps focus in managable sessions that feel rewarding whilst still letting you get work done. My only problem is that there is no "restore purchase" button meaning I can only use the pro version on one device 😢

Highly recommend!. Top procrastinator who’s easily distracted and burns out often. This app is fantastic way to avoid and manage all of that. It is easy to use and with options to suit each persons needs for sound and time. I recommend this app for anyone who wants to get $*** done.

Great App, A few tweaks needed. Great functionality, great to be able to change timer/interval duration. Would be good if reminders could be set to a particular time rather than on the hour. Would also be handy to optionally have the timer show on lock screen.

Amazing thank you. I have never been able to sit still and focus, well without lots of chocolate and caffeine. I am currently studying my masters while working and don’t have tome to waste. This app has been a god send. If my mind wanders or I want to get up and procrastinate I look at the countdown and realise I only have so many minutes before I can take a break. Thank you so much, this app has got me through many assignments now

Really helpful. I have lots of problems being focused and concentrating while sitting at my desk at work. Focuskeeper keeps me on track and I feel guilty if I start drifting off and doing something non-productive. A fantastic app and I highly recommend it. It is changed my life.

Handy work efficiency app. Highly customizable and easy to use. A good way to help those who have poor concentration focused on work. Of course it is still up to the individual in the end. It's working well for me so far.

A winner - beats the other apps - no contest. I have tried many many focus apps and this one has the right level of flexibility and simplicity for me. A simple interface with easy setup and intuitive functionality that means you can get to your work instead of playing with the app. Well worth buying the full version. Best features: easy of use, works in the background; does not drain the battery. It's a winner for me.

An app just as important as the selfie camera 😉!. AN ABSOLUTE MUST THROUGHOUT STUDYING! I have literally only been using this app for the past 3hrs and is the best thing ever. I am currently in Yr 12 and know that this is going to help me immensely, as I struggle a lot with over working and spending too long on the one task. This app reminds me when to have breaks and avoids me being burnt out and overthinking on the nitty gritty.

Great way to track your work. I use this app every time I have to write something. I used to think that I invest a lot of time into writing. Then, I used this app and noticed that I was spending much less time on writing than I had thought. Valuable time went to waste for lunch break, coffee break, snack break etc. With this app I recorded the net time I actually do writing and was a bit surprised. So, now I use it to measure the actual time I spend on a task. This keeps me focused and motivated!

Very intuitive. Of the pro version: Wonderful app to use with its colours and simplicity. Just a simple timer with customisable ticking sounds out other sounds you want while you’re focusing on your task. You can change the 25:5 work: break ratio to whatever you like. 4/5 stars because I’d like to see more types of sounds to keep me focused, and when I lock my screen I’d like to see how much time I have left on the timer without having to unlock my phone. I’m quite the phone addict so that would be a major plus!!

Help u achieve ur goals. This app helped me become laser focus working towards attending to goals that had sat on my “to do” list for over a year. Breaking the work segments into 25mins helped me chip away at achieving the goals. The break time of 5mins enabled me to take a wander or run some scales up & down the keys, so when I started the next 25mins, my mind was fresh.

Use this all the time!. I upgraded to pro, but the free version is awesome. Great for people who procrastinate, or who are busy but not feeling like they're getting much done! The power of focus is amazing. I only upgraded so I could adjust the lengths of my sessions, I love that this app is so simple and clutter free.

LOVE IT!👌🏽👌🏽😉😉😉🔥🔥🔥😁. ADHD and procrastination — I enjoy racing with myself like I’m in a race or something so it makes it a little bit more fun for me. So when it starts I’m like “alright let’s GOOO... LEGOOO!!!! 1,2,3 you got this... Then while it’s going and then close to finished I’ve done all these things and then realised wow!!! So much time in a day and we don’t realise how much we can actually utilise our time wisely!!! Let’s all smash this and achieve our goals or whatever they may be! This app gets a 5/5 from me!!!

Perfect. Here’s the deal. Get it, move all your other apps to the next few pages so your primary one is BLANK. Then place this as your only app on the hotbar at the bottom. When using it lean it against something to you can see it while you work and when it’s break time take it with you in your pocket so the timer can be heard. Now go be creative. Or productive. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mega procrastinator. Some how made it through Med school without this app. Now in surgical training and could not have survived without it , so simple yet so powerful. Stop reading reviews and download it and get to work, it will change your life.

Great app. This app is helpful in productivity for both myself at work and my kids at home. It would be helpful if it had an option where you could click to proceed to next session/break. This would allow me to complete current task then proceed to break.

Worth paying for Pro. User friendly and clean simple design makes this app my best friend for conquering long study sessions. There's very limited functions in the free version which is a shame, but for just a few bucks more the pro function gives me all the options for sounds and colours I want.

The OG. Immaculate format and layout of the app. Easy to navigate and simple, making it more appealing to open the app and study with a “clean” system. Good selection of buzzer tones (although I would appreciate that selection being expanded). I am a first year uni student and would have loved if I had know about this app let alone this system of studying when I was completing year 12!

Awesome. I use it on my everyday life, it helps soo much with my workflow that it’s amazing. I would like however to have different configs for different activities . Like study 25x 5 min and work 45x5 min , would that be possible?

Indispensable. For an easily-distracted writer with ADHD like me, this app prompts intense bursts of focused work which stay manageable because I always know there’s a planned break ahead. ADHD rebels against routine, but really needs it too. I can churn out 4000+ words in four 25 minute bursts for a first draft manuscript using this app, productivity that was unimaginable before using Focus Keeper. I pay for the extra options; the right ticking sound for focus, the relaxing ocean audio for the breaks, the screen colours which feel appropriate to me. All this makes the app easy and fun to use every day. Thank you, developers – it’s a career-saver.

Great for simple tracking. I’ve used this app for several years. Every now and then, I drift away from the pomodoro technique but each time I come back I find this little app so useful. It’s not bloated. It’s simple, just as the original text advised. I really like it and have recommended it for others many times.

Almost perfect. Beautiful, gives me a sense of the physical kitchen pomodoro with beautiful real and pleasant sounds, it is a real pleasure having it in my desk. The reason why it is a 4 is because it lacks web connection and task stats which still makes me go back to my other apps, integration is key for me, other than that, I am keeping it because of its appeal and solid basic functionality.

Made me want to study. This app took me from wanting to cry about exams to actually studying for them. I’ve been able to get at least an hour of study done a day using this, but most days it’s 3+ hours. Th breaks are perfectly timed as I have back problems so can use them to regularly rest my back. The ticking is also quite soothing.

Free version perfect for my needs. I'm a huge procrastinator so this app is excellent at keeping me focussed for short blocks of time. Can turn sounds off so my phone lights up when it's time to take a break and time to get back to work when I'm studying in the library

keeps pausing the timer 😑. I don’t know what causes it but something pauses the timer every now and again so I’ll be working away feeling like it’s been ages since I had a break and when I go check how much time is remaining I see that it’s not even counting down. It’s driving me crazy! I emailed the developer about it and have had zero response. Annoying because I’ve paid for the full version.

Worth the download for time management. An app that helps with managing time and keeping focused. Really good to use instead of just managing to your own time. It helps to keep you on track and avoid getting deeply distracted and procrastinating. It has potential but need to buy app for more features which is a shame as having those available in the free version would really add to its value. Overall a good free app.

Really helpful app. Focus keeper is a really great app for those who get easily distracted while doing work for long periods of time (like myself). It allows me to study in 25 minute chunks then take short breaks which boost productivity. Really handy as a student, use it all the time!

Timer keeps pausing. I love the simple design of the app and personalised sounds and alarms. I would like to rank this as 5 but my big issue is the timer pauses frequently - this appears to occur when I navigate between other apps. It would be great to have this issue looked into, or have a feature added to specify that I would like to disable timer pausing unless performed manually.

Been using this for two years. I’ve been using this app on and off for two years for both work and study. It does exactly what it says in the description. You can customise it in regards to time length for focus and changing the colour scheme, but there are no over complicated features. Five stars, two thumbs, 100%.

A God Send for Exams. Used it on and off all semester, but I truely put it through its paces for exams. Really helps rationalise and pace a full days study and stops it from feeling overwhelming. Plenty of options and features available so you can customise the app to your liking and a very simple layout that avoids looking cluttered with very intuitive controls.

Better than physical timers. So versatile and extensive options. Have used this app for a few years now and it ALWAYS improves my productivity. I have tried physical pomodoro times but they never do as good a job. Being able to pause, skip and alter a segment has been so useful. Also being able to make your own modified version of the work and break times is next level in my opinion. Could not be happier with this ap

Adjustable and functional. A useful study tool that allows you to adjust your pomodoro focus and rest times as well as keep track of the number of sessions had through the day. I would recommend this app to anybody who has a lot of work/study and needs to structure themselves better.

Indispensable. I tried a few pomodoro-style timers and this one is the clear winner. It has some great features and is well designed. The only thing I wish was different is that you can’t choose an Apple Music playlist to shuffle while the timer is on, only a single song. Apart from that it’s perfect!

Great app. This app is great for people like me that are really very good at procrastinating absolutely everything in their life. This app is easy to use, and all you have to do is follow the suggested study times and suddenly you are productive who would have thought. 10/10

Lovely application.. This app make you managed your time well. It is amazing application if you want to focus on your work effectively. However, there is a missing feature that would make it more popular. If developer adds a leader board that user can see who is a winner of the time, it might be more fun to use this app. Please add the feature!

Great but. Great app, does exactly what it’s supposed to buuuut can you guys fix the bug where if you have a timer that’s started before midnight and you let it run well past midnight into the morning none of your study time gets tracked until you make a new timer

Great app. Best app for pomodoro

Simple enough. Add option to rearrange the timers and I will bump up the rating. Thanks

great. everything a pomodoro track time we need, completed with a calendar and possibility of programming recurrent task. great: it respect our private life 😌 overall a great app! thanks

Love it!. This is the best work timer app I've found. Can't wait for an Apple Watch version!!! (Hint hint)

Good but can be better. The app is simple and very efficient. I think you can improve the app by providing more data about our performance, maybe add some more charts. Also a section for notes would be cool after every session. Anyway good app.

Simple, Effective, User-friendly. I recently discovered I have ADHD and this app is a blessing! it has helped me stay on task with my studies and housework. I like how unobtrusive yet motivating it is. I agree that having different volumes for the alarm and clock sounds would be useful but other than that it’s just right!

App says free but…. Literally any option i wanna use requires me to pay for the app…

Get rid of premium. Amazing app. Just wish I could schedule my studying.

AMAZING. Completely flipped my study habits!

Great app. Obviously, I love this application very much hence the 5 stars. The only thing that I want is the ability to get the total number of hours spent on an activity/task and not just total number of hours per week.

Lost premium. I paid for the premium but since the update It shows me reversed my status and doesn’t allow me to control premium features. Help!

Error with new update. When i turn my phone lengthwise sometimes it wont change until I swipe through and try again. Only happened after the new update.

Good, but not great. I’ve enjoyed this app, but sometimes the timer doesn’t make a sound. I’ve been using it for the past two hours and it doesn’t make a sound about half the time. Nothing has been changed, so it doesn’t make sense that it will work, then won’t.

very helpful to track creative work time. great for tracking time committed to tasks, and noticing when it’s time to take a break to fresh

Love it!. Simple. Has a nice click sound to the clock if you want it.

Update fail. Ever since the update it’s literally the worst product. The timer doesn’t auto reset, I get random long breaks when they should be short, sometimes the timer doesn’t count my completed round. The app is now virtually unusable.

Does not sync purchase on Macbook. I had the subscription but on macbook dosent show up

Horrible experience after the recent update. 2 days ago the app stopped working. I’ve been using it for over 3 years and paid for the subscription. Since the recent update the app just crashes without even opening. After reinstalling the app I’ve got a new ‘get started’ screen and the app now crashes after you click 4 times next. You would think that such a simple app should be more stable.

Full of fuctionalities. You can customize it easily. So much functionalities ! I feel like they listen to their users 😍🥰

Does not work on MacOS. Not verified on MacOS and crashes when trying to open

Haushsh. I keep trying to upgrade but it wont let me im annoyed

Good but can’t update existing timer. Bought the app. I change the ticking sound on an existing timer, save, update, and the old sound is still there no matter what I do! Also, I need to click TWICE on the sounds to preview them, as it always plays the old sound first. No support email on the site so posting here. Please look into these and I will update my review if fixed! Thank you!

Limited Use. There is a limited amount of time used before you have to pay for the app. It’s cheap and probably worth it, but annoying if you missed that part before downloading it.

Awesome. Love the interface! Wish there was a chrome webstore version for my laptop. All in all, this is the best there is!

Great Design. Needs Apple Watch support. The UI looks great and easy to use. Really want Apple Watch Version

I would give it 5 if…. The timer would not reset. I hate there there’s no way not to make the timer reset.

Confusing and useless without paying. Remember when apps were $1-3 and you got to keep them forever? Paying $1.29/mo for a glorified timer is ridiculous, though I’d consider it if the layout of the app was remotely intuitive.

APPLE WATCH. Apple Watch support pleaseeeeeee

Awesome!. I am using the app on my iPhone. It really helps me concentrate and be productive. I feel like in a flow state. Reading and writing is simpler with it. Great work guys!

Does not work sometimes. It sometimes doesn’t work. What is annoying is this “sometimes”. Because of the dysfunction, I lost my focus.

A glamorized timer that will absolutely destroy your battery life. The title says it all. Terrible coding means that this app will drain a ridiculous amount of battery power just running in the background. Pretty ridiculous.

Loss of paid features to force subscription. The latest update took away the ability to set the break and focus times without having a subscription. I already had a one time payment version of the app to get those features. :( Not cool!

Buggy. I bought the full version but the timer will randomly stop counting down and there is an annoying white noise that can’t be turned off. As another user indicated - this ruined my focus and defeated the purpose of the app

Ok. I liked the ticking sound and found it helpful. The app set up was overall easy to understand. Improvement potential in adding the ability to swipe left and right to move to other days. I liked the idea that I could set tasks to repeat so they would appear on future days. Unfortunately the repeated tasks that are scheduled continue to disappear on the current day… So “today” is always empty… Which defeats the purpose of repeating tasks, if they are never there when you go to perform them. Canceled my subscription and am looking for other options.

Notification Badge. After new update notification badge won’t go away

The best focus timer out there.. It really nails the pomodoro technique to a T. Great way to keep you focused on the tasks at hand in an efficient manner. 10/10

Great app!. It’s pretty good to keep you on track of time when you need it.

Great. Really great app but please fix all the ui bugs 🙏🙏🙏

Issues with Latest Update. I have been using this app for a long time and have been very happy with it. I even paid for the full version. However, after the latest update, it has suffered from significant issues, the main one being background running. Simply put, the break timer will no longer start running unless the app is open and your screen is unlocked. I used to be able to lock my screen and the break/focus timers would run automatically. Now, if I lock my screen, the break timer will not start, or will start late and throw off the whole focus/break cycle. Changing the settings has not helped, and support has not adresses the issue despite my many follow ups. Now, I have to leave the screen on and the app open if I want it to work, which affects my screen time and battery. It is unfortunate that such a useful app os suffering from such an unnecessary issue. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Tracking is subpar and often no existent. A couple times I thought it was logging my sessions and it wasn’t, only to find out I couldn’t manually enter the data. Really disappointed, and sort of angry considering this is the full paid for version I’m using will probably ask for a refund asap.

Good app but always seems to need improvement. The app keeps developing and getting new features and it’s very nice, that said it I often find little bugs here and there. For example I’ve done 3, 20 minute focus sessions. The daily overview says I have focused 1h 57m, which isn’t right and I’m sure alludes a feature where you are considered to continue working after a focus session assuming you checked out, but with no way to correct it’s mistake and the timeline saying I worked from 11:11am to 11:12am I have no way to really know what happened. I’m sure this is a small detail to most but I’m in a productivity group that asks for progress reports so exporting the reports is something I do often. I’m sure this feature will be improved, but I expect to see new features added with similar minor issues and wanted share the cycle you should expect.

Widgets please. Let’s get widgets going please!

Great app!. I have a hard time focusing for long periods of time but the focus app helps me breakdown my productive periods and give me a break in between. I have been able to be much more productive using the app and highly recommend it to others

Love that this is free. This is the best app- the fact that is free is so helpful

Tested 12 Apps… Focus Keep= #1⏱. This is by far the best Productivity/Time management app 🔥 It’s out of this 🌎 You can never buy more time! Focus Keepers premium features is worth the time is saves! Giving you more time to enjoy your life 😀 Don’t listen to the negative reviews about having to pay. It’s under $2/mo and $8 for the entire year. Spending $8 to save time is more than worth it 💸I’m surprised it’s not more tbh. I would undoubtedly pay $100 a month for this app 💰💰

Helps with ADHD. I have an ADHD since forever and this app helps so much for focusing! I normally can’t get any task done, but now it is sooo easy! As a student with a part time job, I am very busy with all my homework(cause I don’t concentrate in class lol), and this helps me to work smarter, not harder!

I wish it could play music. Great app it helps to stay focused I wish it could be connected to Spotify or we could play hour long music through the app.

Perfect. This app is perfect for helping me keep going when I want to, and not worry that I’m either taking too many breaks or taking too few breaks.Every work day I use this, I’m happy at the end!

Effective Features!. While using the Focus Keeper app (which uses a Pomodoro timer technique), I found that they give you short breaks every 25 minutes and after four sessions they give you a long break. Each day, your goal is to have 12 sessions. Overall, focus keeper is effective at keeping you focused on a task as you know that the timer is ticking and that you'll have a break at the end of the session. Here is a tip: put a checkmark on paper after each session and wrote down distractions so you can go over them later (after the session). Overall, this app is great for keeping you focused!

Very helpful. I like the simplicity of the App and honestly it makes the best difference with my productivity and workflow. One of the best things to have happen to my work day and focus. I’ve even taken advantage of the breaks to help me remember to drink water!! Would have given five stars but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to clear the little notifications from the Home Screen. It’s driving me bonkers that I can’t clear them and it’s been at 25, no more no less, for months. I’ll change it to 5 star review if anyone can help me figure this out!

Great way to manage time and track goals. I'm writing my dissertation and I've tried other similar apps. This one is far superior. The various settings are very helpful. I also really like that I can track my progress over time. It is easy enough to say, oops I guess I didn't make my goal today, when the evidence would disappear by morning. But if every day is logged on a graph it is easier to hold myself accountable. One suggestion would be to start averaging with the first day. As it is now each day of work is averaged against the previous 30 days which is demoralizing when you just start.

Fantastic. Just a great app. Gamifies it all just enough to make you come back. So simple in the GUI. The developers are extremely talented with keeping this whole thing concise and to the point of what it is trying to accomplish. I’m able to plot out a Deep Work focus that I use as a remote worker. I put my mindful habits like journaling in as well along with reading. You’d be surprised how great this app is at also managing your focus on self care as well. It’s everything you need it to be in terms of focus tracking and scalable to fit most people’s task management needs.

Organizational Life Saver. I have Executive Function Disorder and this timer really helps me stay focused and organized without getting overwhelmed. I know that I only have to work for a short amount of time and then I have a break to stand up, take a breath, reset my mind and body, and refocus myself on what’s important in my work. I paid for the added bonus of adjusting my work/break times and goals to my personal needs and I have no regrets. Of course I use other techniques to keep me focused and productive, but this app is really helpful to keep track of work time and to take necessary breaks.

Game changer. As a creative person who struggles to stay on task and adhere to self imposed deadlines this app/ pomodoro technique is a game changer. Work for 25 min, take a 5 min break, do this 4 times and take a longer 25 min break. Genius to keep you on task and chunks of 25 min are just right until your brain gets tired and needs a rest. I tried setting the time on my own on my phone but this works much better, it goes automatically to the next section and also gently reminds you to “get back to work” Never been more productive in my life and this is after just a few days of using the app. Thank you!

A must have brain hack.. I’m so very glad I purchased this based on a few reviews that said it was a game changer and helpful for ADD. I feel so much more productive. After using the free version for a few days I upgraded to the pro 2.99 well spent to say the least. Being able to customize the sounds color and timing intervals is so nice. The cat meow makes me smile 😂 I looked up the Pomodoro method that this app is based on and am grateful for it. I hope it enhances your energy and enjoyment with the things you want to truly focus on like it did for me.

Basic but great. Just starting to use this, I'm already feeling more productive! I keep wanting to go find another app even more complicated, but I realize that's just me getting distracted. This one is basic but does the job quite well. However I will say, that a notification in the app itself is the thing that made me go write this review... so it sort of forced me to be distracted. Come to think of it, the notification did come up during one of my breaks, but do I really want to spend my break writing an iTunes review? Oh well, here I've gone and done it.

Great App, Better Philosophy. This is the best Pomodoro app I have used. No frills, no useless features. I love the customizability this app provides. The $1.99 premium is definitely worth it if you have used and believe in the Pomodoro system. I just wish there was a Mac version of this App. As a university student I tend to do my work in the library and cafes with my Macbook, so I defer from using the audio notifications for this app on my phone. I believe there is utility in an audio stimulus of the Pomodoro technique. Having an auditory stimulus between breaks and the ticking while working externalizes the Pomodoro technique for the individual.

Used for 5 years, no longer reccomend. I’ve used this app regularly since 2017 and have told many, many people to download it. Through that time it has consistently improved and added more features until now- the addition of a subscription model. I even paid for the “pro version “ when it came out because I simply wanted to support the creators. However I don’t respect that people who have used the app for so long haven’t been grandfathered in- at least for the first year. I hate that everything is becoming subscription based and creators are all about the micro transactions. I’m happy to pay a one- off fee for a great product but the cost really adds up, and what are you really getting for it? Very disappointed.

Awesomeness. Brilliant App. Upped my productivity to near superhuman levels. Love the way you can modify your focus and break times. Only wish they could include a function where you can program times where your intervals can change either daily or weekly. I use this for engineering school so an example is maybe setting longer focus intervals and shorter long breaks for completing lab reports and then shorter focus intervals and longer breaks for hard studying. Also wish I could tie this to google calendar. Nonetheless, this is still a fantastic app and I hope to use it forever onward :)

TRACKS YOU—check its "Privacy" link if you disbelieve. These "privacy nutrition labels" do more harm than good, as Apple does not create or enforce meaningful penalties for deception, as the developer of this app practices. Or, is it really okay with Apple (and us consumers, who pay these Apple billionaires and their wealthy shareholders) if a developer checks a couple boxes, like "Does not gather [whatever] data" but omits the truth that using their app will allow you to be tracked by cookies so the developer can sell our info to third parties? The big privacy improvements Apple has sold us are merely illusory. We're still being tracked, regardless of the settings we choose or our attempts to purchase only apps that respect our privacy. I'm finished with Apple—& I've never been a Windows or Chrome person. I'm ready just to use a dumb-phone and solely a Linux distro on my machine. Screw it.

Best Pomodoro App: clean + customizable. This is the best Pomodoro app I’ve tried. It manages to strike a nice balance between staying simple and clean, but offering a lot of customization. I also really like that this app will allow you to receive notifications while Do Not Disturb is on. The other Pomodoro apps I tried do not have this feature, which I find to be quite important so I can hear the Pomodoro alarm without being distracted by other notifications. The only con I see is that this app does not offer an Apple Watch version. I don’t currently own an Apple Watch, but I may get one at some point, which would require me to start using a different app.

Tracking feature sets this app apart. Really useful app, with a nice interface! I have been using this app for remote study, using it nearly every day, and even paid for the service to be able to add more tasks and adjust the interval times. There were some frustrating bugs Nov 2021, which they fixed and I’m back to loving it. My only recommendation for improvement would be to add a setting feature that allows the option of tracking weekly task times from Monday-Sunday, rather than Sunday-Saturday. This would be very useful to those who don’t want to split up their work over a weekend as if it happened in two separate weeks. Thanks for the great app!

Ultimately not very useful. I used this off and on for 3 years. It just lacks a workflow or timer that effectively works for me. The alarm does not always go off. And the alarm sound choices a slim and cannot repeat. Unless you just run the timer for the full duration and use it in one specific way, the app just has no useful options that are available or that even work. Like pressing start on a task timer that briefly puts up the start time and then immediately goes to zero and counts up not down. Just weird timer options that dont include much of what i want it to do, and the timer options that are available either dont work well or are not how you want it to work. Officially deleting this app now its not getting any better.

Focus is that You?!. What can I say? When I study, I easily get distracted by my phone or my surroundings. With the focus app, it challenges me to sit still and be productive for a consistent amount of time. Now, if you find yourself having troubles focusing I strongly suggest this apps. It’s something about the clock ticking that makes me want to be consistent and finish the task. Please keep in mind that this app only helps with setting a consistent time table to study, it will not force you to study. You must do the conversations between self & self to motivate you to study. Regardless, download this app and start effective studying today! I promise you’ll love it!

Simple free version might be the trick. Something is better than nothing. I’m hoping it isn’t just the novelty. I’ve tried a lot of apps, and was highly skeptic of a simple timer. I even tried my own timer. But something about this ... idk And that might be exactly the success of this... It doesn’t try to push all sorts of new ‘clever’ useful hints, tips, ideas, nor even push the upgrade features. PLUS. I appreciate not being forced to decline an attempt to upsell every time I use this. I might buy them simply for that reason. Even if I don’t use them or this much longer, I know I’ve supported someone honestly providing a simple free app.

Disappointed. I loved the app and subscribed for more features. The features on their actual website are better then the app somehow, on the site you can adjust volume level and sounds but in the app you cannot unless it is a task you create. I also do not have an audio slider in the app like the site has. I like the timer a lot and I like the app a lot it’s just missing the features that I thought I was paying for but the site version has them for free. I have it on my Apple Watch too which is nice. Please update app to have the timer have customization settings like the website does, that options menu on the site is much easier to use and has more then the app itself.

The Best Work Timer, Full Stop. I've tried several Pomodoro-style and non-Pomodoro-style timer apps, and this is easily the best. Some apps wrap the concept in some funny features or other complications, but Focus Keeper has perfectly refined the task at hand here: to focus! The UI is super slick and minimal. Yet it has some very pleasant details, like the coloring of the break times versus the coloring of the work times, and the little audio cues for each time block. I'm loving the ocean waves in a long break right now. I tend to keep my headphones in just to hear the work time ticking away. Excellent job overall. Definitely try this.

The App is Gold. I’ve never written a review before, but this app deserves it. I tried 7 or 8 other Pomodoro style timers and while they work, they were either ugly, overly busy, or distracting or so simple that they weren’t much better than the Timer app. Life requires flexibility. This app lets you change everything, but is also structured. I love being able to increase or decrease session and/or break times on the fly. I like being able to change colors. I like that the timer itself is what is big on the screen. I did pay the $1.99 to be able to change the extra options. Worth the cost. This app developer talent is in knowing how to make it powerful and simple. The other apps frustrated the heck out of me. This app works more naturally and flexibly, while still giving you all the structure you may want. One or two others were close, but were too rigid or ugly. This is a great daily companion app! 5-Stars easily! Worth the price. No annoying nags or up sells. Complete control over sounds, etc. Perfection!

Few features short of greatness. I spent the money to upgrade to the Pro version. Sadly, the option for Music during a Pomodoro doesn’t work. (Which is why I upgraded) I couldn’t find a website for support. 😓 Also, stupid me I didn’t check if Apple Watch is supported - it isn’t. A gentle tap on the wrist 2 mins prior to the end of a Pomodoro and a minute prior to the end of a break would take this app from good to great. ⌚️ If the Music bug were fixed, I’d rate it 4 stars. If Apple Watch we’re supported, 5 stars, no question. Overall the user interface is beautiful and easy to use. I really hope the developer will consider addressing these items. If so, I’ll recommend it hardily! 🤓👍🏻

Great with a couple issues. Overall I like this app and got the paid version. Just a couple of minor annoyances: 1. The most recent update seems to not have been tested on smaller form factor phones (iPhone SE etc). The app displays black bars on the top and bottom and doesn’t fill the screen. 2. If headphones are removed the ticking sound continues playing on the speaker. This is annoying - especially when a boss will interrupt me and I have to pull out my AirPods - the ticking can be loudly heard on the phone speaker and I have to frantically turn it off. An option to only play the ticking on headphones or to stop/pause the ticker when headphones are pulled out would be very helpful.

Yes, I do want to adjust the timer. Quit asking.. I use this app daily for my work timers. It helps me remember to take standing breaks and limits my distractions while the timer is running. However, I really don’t like how every time I adjust the timer, it asks me if I want to change it. Like, if I’m wrapping something up and go one minute into my break session, I’ll adjust the break session back to 5 minutes. I’m aware you can set custom work and break times, but what I want is the flexibility to easily change my timers without having to go through the “are you sure?” process every time. Would love a “stop asking me” option so I can adjust timers as needed, as in previous versions.

Switched phones and Pro did not transfer. I was so happy with this app’s performance that I purchased the Pro version. However, I recently changed phones and the app opened as the basic version on my new phone though I’m using the same Apple ID. I can’t find a way to communicate with the developer to receive support for this issue. I’d really just like my Pro app back because I found it very useful. **Update: My Pro version was restored. I am now using the pp happily again! It’s excellent for helping me focus and I recommend it to everyone I can.

Stole my money??. So, I bought this app a while back and it immediately helped me focus more on my school work. Since the pro version was so cheap, I thought “Why not?”. This is when the problems started. I bought it, but the app said “Could not connect to App Store” after I paid for it, and never gave me the updated version. I contacted Apple 2 days later, and they also said that I had paid for it. I then contacted the app’s “support” email, and has now been over 5 days with no response. I’m not sure if I’ve been scammed or if my phone decided to have a bad day, but I felt like it was necessary to leave a review of my experience. If they actually email back and gets me what I paid for, I’ll update this review and give it 5 stars, but right now I’m feeling scammed and irritated.

Great app for focused work. This app is sooo good! I am doing a PhD, which means that I have to be very disciplined with doing focused work every day. Some texts that I have to read are very difficult and sometimes I lack the motivation. This app has helped me to create a study routine, keep track of amount of my focused work every day, and has boosted my motivation to work, especially on difficult readings. I just finished writing 2,500 words today just in a few hours, and it was with help of the app. I wouldn't had done so fast before. Also, the 5-min break is awesome to remind me to get up and move a little. This app changed my day to day work!!

The only timer to stay functional. Most other apps fail to keep running when in the background, but this one keeps up even when I switch around apps on an old iPhone... even when in the rare occasion it doesn't, it fails gracefully, remembering the time it stopped running (most apps just reset back to 25:00 as if you've done nothing). By that alone, it stands as the only iOS Pomodoro app worth trying out. A small bug: app will crash on start if the song you were using for the focus period is deleted (grrr iTunes!!!!). i had to reinstall the app.

Stay Away!. I typically don’t write reviews, but this app is deeply frustrating. As one can see from the recent reviews, not only did their recent update add a paywall for a pro version, despite being a long term user who earlier payed, the updates also effectively break the app. At the moment, it’s difficult to even get the clock started, despite pressing the start button. Finally, after seeing a review on here mentioning a Baby Story Pics Editor being installed on iCloud, I also checked my iCloud and found the app there too. Really creepy. It’s really sad that the new changes ruined the app. I loved this app and it helped me focus on, and definitely when the pandemic hit. I hope they change their approach sometime. Until then, I will be moving on.

Delivers what it promises beautifully, which is rare nowadays. This app is simple but powerful. I have been using it recently to study and it has helped me stay focused. In a day where ads rule the apps, this is the 2nd one where I am glad to pay for it (even if I don’t use the paid things) just to support the app developers. Great app all around! If I could criticize one thing it would be that on mobile, if you have a iPhone X and higher, you will accidentally stop/start the timer if you have the phone on it’s side and you switch apps or go to the home screen. Apparently it recognizes the gesture as a tap on the timer. Minor but this app still deserves the 5 stars

Great, but one feature missing!. I love this app and have purchase the full version. However, there is one glaring omission: "Volume of Break." Although I appreciate being able to make the alarm super loud, I don't particularly want the ticking to be more than barely audible. It has two different volume adjustments for "alarm" and "ticking," and that's great. What it does not have, is a volume for the only other mode which is "break." I would like to keep the alarm at 10, the ticking at 2, and maybe the ambient "break" soundtrack at a nice medium 5 or 6. It typically quieter and less grating than the ticking sound (although you can choose the sound yourself), and I'd like to be able to hear it a little better.

Great Study Method. I love the pomodoro method for focusing. It really makes daunting tasks easier and helps me avoid procrastinating. This app is so simple and easy to use. There is one thing that is bothering me though: I have a notification bubble on the app when I’m on my Home Screen, but there is no way to get the notification to go away; I checked everywhere within the app, I deleted it and redos loaded it, etc. It’s driving me mad. Other than that little bug, the app has been added to my regular study routine and I have no complaints.

Timer stopped counting down in background. I recently purchased the Pro version of this app because it was helping me organize my time so well. Within the last week, the app has stopped functioning correctly. When I leave the app, the timer stops counting down in the background. I did a test where I had my phone next to me with a stopwatch. The stopwatch recorded two minutes had past, while Focus Keeper had only gone down one minute. This makes no sense. It leaves me working way longer than the 25 minutes and confused with the amount of time I have spent working on an assignment. Please fix this!! I LOVED this app and began recommending it to all my college friends but now if it is not working, I cannot continue telling people to use it. If this problem were fixed I would be giving this app 5 stars but unfortunately this is my only way of reliably contacting support.

Great app!. I love this app to keep me focused and help me balance my need to take breaks with my need to focus. I wish it had a few more, slightly less obtrusive options for ticking sounds - right now, I just turn them off while I'm working and have them on during the break. Also in landscape mode, the current version sometimes gets stuck and won't go to portrait mode again, but this doesn't affect the timer. Interface is nice and clean with few distractions, and I like that you don't need to touch the phone to know when your time allotments change. Great app; I am ADHD and I highly recommend this as a way to balance impulse and the need to focus!

Fix the Music. I love the app overall, but the feature where you can use music doesn’t work right. While I am able to see all of my playlists in my Apple Music Library, it only allows me to play purchased ITunes songs, which may not be broken but is, nevertheless, quite annoying. What’s really broken, though, is that whenever I do try to play music automatically through the app, it immediately crashes. Plus the fact that you can choose only one song as opposed to a playlist or an album it stupid. If they could fix/update their music feature, it would easily be 5 stars, but at this point it is still lacking

Good start but it could use more.. This app is great for obtaining some serious focus. In my opinion it could use a few features. For instance, I don't like how the timer for a break starts up immediately after the bell for a focus session. When writing I need a second to rap up my thought and grab something fun before I can start a break. By the time I get to relax I'm 30 seconds to a minute into my break. I would prefer if they had an option to put a short countdown between sessions or have me I start the timer when I'm ready. Also I think it would be helpful if they asked you to record your productivity level per session so you can see trends in what works and what doesn't.

Love everything EXCEPT. I do love the ease, simplicity, and effectiveness of this app. However, I like to use this on my iPad so I would love to have an option to have the timer visible at all time on my screen while using other apps. I don’t usually like to even keep my phone around when I study, which I know most people seem to use these types of apps to stop themselves from using the phone, but I am just using the app for workflow. This option of multitasking or a picture-and-picture screen of the timer seems to be unavailable in any of the pomodor apps I’ve tried unfortunately. So I am hoping my favorite pomodoro app will pioneer the idea!

Effective. The free version is sufficient, no annoying pop ups or limitations. However, the paid version is awesome. No subscription, just one payment. You get added customization and the ability to view your past 30 days of activity. It has been really motivating to watch my work ethic improve. It is so easy to see the number of hours worked every day plotted out for the last month. I’ve come so far in only one week of seriously attacking my procrastination, and Focus Keeper has been instrumental.

Has helped me get all As in nursing pre-reqs. I have been using this timer for some months now and I love it. I have ADD and really struggle with staying on task while studying. The sublet background ticking gives my fidgety brain something to focus on while I study. When it's going, I don't even feel tempted to go on social media. It has made such an improvement for me that I got accommodation to use it during exams. I went from Cs to As in subjects like Anatomy and Physiology. I'm already using it to do independent study in Chemistry and Med Terminology to be ahead of the curve next semester. I also recommend the Brainscape app for doing your own custom flash cards.

Great app but needs a couple tweaks. This app has a simple interface and is easy to use. I also like the options to customize it. I only have two small complaints: 1. All the alarms are short beeps, so they are easy to miss and off track on your schedule. I wish there were longer or continuous tones that require the user to silence them. 2. Any time someone calls the timer stops, so if you don’t go back to the app and turn it back on you will get out of sync on your work rest rhythm. I think the timer should continue regardless of if you receive a call or not. Other than that a good and useful app!

Paid upgrade not worth it. PROS: Great timer to lead us ADHD-ers into getting at least a little bit of something (or anything at all) completed. Paid version: keep track of additional tasks and customize timer intervals. CONS: Paid version still limited to (I think) 8 tasks. Can't edit timers after accidentally running them. Bug at midnight sometimes loses the session time. DEVS: 1.) Fix the midnight bug; it seems that if I left my timer on past midnight, when the session finished that time disappeared completely from the task before midnight and the task after midnight remained zero. 2.) I want to be able to rearrange my stack of tasks, which can't be done without deleting the task and its history. Please add a "press-hold" action on task list to rearrange/edit my individual task timers. 3.) Add ability to edit timers that were accidentally left on, including applying timer to a different task that I started doing and forgot to switch task timers. 4.) Make timer accessible from Lock Screen.

Totally Worth the Small Investment. I love the pomodoro technique but doing it with an old school egg timer was...well...getting old. It’s got small little features that make a world of difference on productivity vs just using a timer on your phone. Some of my favorites are the “ticking” during your working time that gives you something to zone in on and the auto cycling from work, to rest, then back to work for however many rounds you set it for. Do yourself a favor and just pay for the added features. What I gained in productivity and time has been well worth it.

One of the Best. The app does its job and does it nicely! The ability to quickly change time periods is ideal, since every project has different needs and scheduling the sessions with flexibility is an added value. This is an ideal companion app to combine it with online teams like Caveday or Go Go Done, and reading so often that people with attention issues benefit from the app, I would strongly urge them to review those groups too, since the combo might be ideal to kill distractions and procrastination all in one shot If there is something to improve is just fixing the response of the timer when changing a established schedule, since it could respond faster to the newly adjusted time. Thanks guys!!

Helping me crush graduate school. I am a parent, spouse, higher education professional, chronic procrastinator, avid tv watcher, a smart phone (okay, social media and email on my smart phone) addict, and of late a graduate student. While I was never diagnosed, I have to imagine I’ve got a touch of the ADHD as well. Needless to say, I’ve got things going on in my life and my noggin. Focus Keeper is really helping me utilize the Pomodoro technique which has benefitted so many. The sound effects have become easy question related to writing and useful breaking (I’m listening to lapping water now...mmmm...soothing). I highly recommend this app. Okay, back to work.

Incredibly helpful, though not entirely perfect. This method and timer is incredibly helpful for someone like me that has mental health issues that can get in the way of being productive. I like that the sessions can easily be adjusted and customized for your needs. I do have an issue with the alarm going off, even if my phone is on silent. I’m not sure if it is due to my own phone settings or the app itself. My setting within the app is set to vibrate on silent, but it rings the alarm instead. Either way, I get around it by making sure it’s paused when I know I don’t want it going off. I’ll contact support about it.

Thank you thank you thank you!. I’m a slacker but, man, does this timer keep me on track! I’m not sure why a normal timer doesn’t work for me...? But this sure is a god send! I DREAD projects I don’t like doing but after reading about time-chunking, I followed up by finding and downloading this app. Thank you for creating it. It has definitely made my messy time-management more manageable. Last year, I had to file an extension for 2018 taxes...I didn’t even START my accounting process until June because I dreaded it so much. This year, my taxes are done ready to go! I honestly can’t believe why you guys don’t have a 5 out of 5 rating!

Great and simple app.. This app is fantastic. As a Chem major, studying the material can be a daunting task if you are not organized. I've heard about the pomodoro technique for a while and finally decided to try this app. It is an extremely simple interface that allows you to pause when you need to and adjust the time if you'd like (in case you get interrupted or have to take a bathroom break). My favorite part is that I don't have to deal with ads! So thank you for making this app, and I look forward to purchasing some in app products to support you and your work!

Beyond Pomodoro. This is the best timer app I’ve used. It’s simple and elegant without unnecessary bells and whistles. Set your phone sideways and you get a nice dark background countdown timer that doesn’t excessively tax your phone battery. You can customize the length of the timer and the breaks for whatever flow you’re in. There’s also an option to keep track of the amount of time you spend on specific tasks. Personally it helps me focus and keep from being distracted. At the end of the day I tally the number of focus periods I had for that day in my planner to track my progress.

GREAT for MCAT studying. Started using this app per the recommendation of several other people studying for the MCAT and have found it exceptionally helpful! I find I don’t get worn out even after reading an entire chapter form my textbook because you get structured 5 min breaks throughout. Huge breakthrough as I had difficulty staying motivated and focuses studying for long hours of the day. Highly recommend if you are seeking an app to help utilize the Pomodoro Technique. Alarm after 25 mins is a short chime so it is not alarming or disruptive if you’re trying to finish that last sentence. Simple and effective design. 5/5

Great for work/studying. As a perpetually busy grad student, this app has been a life saver. I can’t tell you how many times I lost hours by frustratingly throwing myself into the same assignments feeling like I couldn’t possible take a break without falling behind. Or even sometimes because I was ALREADY behind. Using this app to remind myself of the natural limits of the human attention span has really forced me to take better care of myself. And really 5 minutes is usually all I need to come back refreshed for another 25 minutes. I’m spending less time doing work, getting a lot more done, and winding up with far fewer headaches.

Perfect for Law School Finals!. Wow! I absolutely love this app! For some reason i accomplish more with the breaks than i do when i study for 8 hours straight. It keeps me from being distracted also because i only pick up my phone or get coffee or water or whatever during my allotted breaks. I love that! I also love the long break because it’s a mental reward! Its that amazing sense that you’ve actually accomplished something and stayed focus! Finally, i LOVE the ticking sounds... it makes me study ACTIVELY and not passively, which is how you have to be during law school finals... active and not passive. This is simple yet so awesome!!!!!
