Overpriced and credits run out FAST. I live overseas and needed an app for free (or at least cheap calling) I was given 300 credits for signing up and used those within 15 minutes of making calls. When I was on an important call the call completely cut out because I only had 1.60 credits left saying that would last a 5 minute phone call. Well it did not, I could not get the call to continue because it just cut out. When I tried to buy more credits it was 300 credits for $5!!!!!! I would rather just download another cheaper app. Sound quality was also not very good. Find another app

App revealed real Number. I honestly have never written a review for an app. But this app just really really upset me it revealed my real phone number which makes no sense knowing that the app was designed specifically to keep that from ever happening . Truly I failure by the developers and those responsible for the functionality of this app. I would not recommend this app for anyone hoping to conceal the phone number for important business purposes. Get the burner app. Update: The developer claims “you are able to change the caller ID. Some users want to reveal their real phone number, some users do not wish to.”...This is complete nonsense why would someone waste the minutes you force them to buy to make a call from their natural number? Clearly you can do that by just using your regular dial out method provided by your carrier!

Traveling internationally and this app saved my ..... My carrier went out on my phone while in the hills of the Black Forest with no GPS. I had to locate a free WiFi in a town, still not able to call my carrier from my phone I use the This app to get ahold of them to turn on my International Service. It saved me big time ! I also could not make a call for a car rental and the app saved me again . Very low cost of a big life saver .

Fraud/Scam App! Do not download!!. This app seemed pretty decent due to reviews so I decided to give it a try. When you first open the app, it asks you to create new number. I selected it and it gave me two options for subscription plan. First was 3 day trial(recommended) and the second option was a full months subscription. I selected the 3 day trial and used my scan to finalize... it ended up charging me for 3 full months!! Who does that? I would understand if I myself had selected the trial and time ran out... but I literally just downloaded the app and selected the recommended 3 day trial.. which by the way didn’t even register as a trial. Horrible app and trying to get a hold of someone is frustrating. You have to report feedback and wait for an email response. Edit: I’ve gotten a response and they keep telling me if I had cancelled my membership on time I wouldn’t have been charged. LOL I explained that I selected the trial and gotc charged for an actual membership instead. I also informed them that I had just downloaded the app minutes ago and was still told it was my fault. What a joke of both app/customer service. Worst I’ve ever seen.

Great app!. I use this app daily. It never lets me then and my probation officer can get in touch with me whenever she wants.. makes me feel secure and less anxious praying I don’t miss a cal. Thanks Talku! Yayu are one awesome team of developers and u just so happened to be lucky and die load this app over the others that day over a year ago… and still king strong without the first glitch. ❤️❤️

Unreliable Service. I'm finally throwing in the towel with this app. Like another reviewer, I wish I could give this app a zero, but alas I have to justify this forced star by saying the idea was good, but the execution is a major fail. I have had issues constantly. I have contacted customer support via email in the past and after they told me they could not find the problem (mind you I sent many screen shots of the error messages and my available coins as proof of what I see) they told me to buy more credits. UGH!!! Half the time I could not get calls through because the server was down and the other half when the call did go through the person on the other end didn't hear me at all. I wish I could have saved myself over a hundred dollars and read these reviews. Lesson learned and deleting this app.

Worked well-At first. Things started out great. Used it as a business number without having to get another phone. Then I slowly started not receiving messages from people. Eventually my messages stopped sending. Tried playing around with settings and making sure I had connection. I pay for the monthly service after using credits for about a month. Now it’s completely unusable despite me paying for it. Every time I try to report or give feedback through the app I just get a pop up saying “This device cannot send email”. A problem I’ve never ran into when reporting bugs on other apps. I will be switching to another phone number app. I’ve missed many opportunities now because my messages aren’t being sent despite having a monthly subscription and credits on my account

I’m giving up on this app, so sad.. I got this app 2 years ago while overseas, half of the time worked ok and half just didn’t. I kept buying credits because it was my only choice. I have a lot of apps and accounts register with one of my three numbers from talk you. Now that I am in the states and I need to get access codes by sms in order to change my account settings.... I GET MY SMS’s WITH ONE HOUR DELAY!! apps and websites codes will only work for ten min. This is causing a big issue and after writing to talk U many times so far I haven’t received a reply or any help!

I’ve Spent 100s of $$s Over Time. This app used to be worth having, back when the app could just be used as a second number/private #. Now, not only does a person have to pay for blocking annoying adverts every time they open the app or use it, but messages and voice mails from every blocked number comes through—taking credits !! If one attempts to get free credits by watching the cringe-y, smutty, p3do ads, the free credits never are given, regardless how many minutes one has been “locked” into sitting through the gross ads. The makers/owners of the app are crooks, in my experience w/ their product.

Rip Off on Text Messages. This app is a total rip off. They lead you to believe it’s unlimited text and talk when you pay for the number and compare themselves to other apps. You only get 30 free text messages a day and those are with limited characters. I sent what I felt was a relatively short text and the system divides it into 8 text messages and it counts against the 30 free texts per day. Then they have the audacity to charge $.50 per text for any text over the 30 with the very limited text character limit. This product is an absolute ripoff. Don’t waste your money like I did. Google Voice has true unlimited text and voice and does not charge for the number.

Again?. I lost another star today for not checking in for two or more days, yet your calendar says I checked in last night. I didn’t miss it the app was glitching again. I check in every night and this the the second time I either didn’t receive my credits or told I didn’t check in when your very app says I did please fix this. When I try to sent feedback or report and hit submit it tells me it cannot receive emails? What? I am unable to contact support. I’m feel as if it’s because I’m not spending money on your app even though I watch videos, check in everyday, and download games.

Account missing!. I have been using this app for almost 2 years now been very happy with it or what I was using it for the past six months I’ve been just collecting my points just in case I do need it again I had over 1600 points in my account two days ago today I open the app and it’s asking me to sign up or click on the link below that if I dohave an account. Which I did enter the telephone number TalkU gave me almost 2 years ago and there is no account matching my telephone number. So I tried the email login method and unfortunately I do not have access to that email it was almost 2 years ago so where did my account go one star because man that’s a bummer and I’m really I’m really bummed out I spent a lot of days checking in and doing all these things and purchasing stuff to get all these points and you guys don’t even know it existed

Doesn’t work well at all. I can’t believe the ratings are so high because this app is awful. Whether I’m on wifi or not, it never wants to connect. I’ve missed multiple calls in 24 hours because of “network connection errors”! It also uses a very arbitrary measure of how long a text is allowed to be and multiple texts means using “credits”. No two sentences in this review could be sent using just one text because it’s “too long” yet there isn’t a character count. A few letters takes me from two texts to three, there is no real measurement in place for how long a text is allowed to be. Bare minimum is that it’s easy enough to earn credits, but that’s only if the app wants to connect. I used this app to get a number for my business in order to keep my personal number private, but it has caused nothing but headaches. I don’t recommend for ANY use, it is a huge waste of time

RIPPED OFF OF MY CREDITS!!. Well this is the fourth time I've tried to contact talku i'm cheating me out of credits on a free Internet phone call today! Two times I tried to send a ticket through the app and it told me it wouldn't go through, today I try to send a trouble ticket through the website and it wouldn't go through! Apparently they don't want people telling them that they're ripping people off! I've been a long time talku customer, and I really keep credits on my phone, today I use it for a phone call using the free Internet option, and yes I did check to make sure it was a free Internet option! it ran through my talkie credits like it was water! and what's really upsetting, is I've had to jump through hoops to even send a trouble ticket in for it and I still haven't got to so I have this right this bad review!!!

This app is a scam. This app is a cash cow! Wanting you to pay to monthly access to the app and THEN buy credits to use the service! It’s very deceptive practice will eventually prompt you to delete it! I spent $40 before I understood the concept. I went to bed with 500 credits and woke up with ZERO credits! It is a pyramid scheme to attempt your to get your friends to download it, go through the same process, pay the same user fees and talk “free” to each other between users! User beware and stay away! Just use WhatsApp, TextMe, or any free service! STAY AWAY!

My personal TalkU APP Preview THE Review;. I find this Call & Text Free App - “TalkU-APP’s”, that is satisfying to the usages of an application for being capable of sending and receiving Via-text messages as well as making In-coming & out-going phone call with-out having any failed messages to the receiver and/or have if phone calls losing signals and/or having the potentials for calls not being able to get through to the out-goings callers party. Talku the best. I have been have using talku since 2016, this is the best phone app out there with clear crisp talking and hearing, easy to work with and user friendly. One thing i noticed when switching phones again was the feed the kitty feature, you feed kitty for points, I dont see that on here could you possibly add that feature back, or was it a limited feature? I love you talku.... you the best out there.

Ok but could be better.. When I first got it, it seemed ok. It gave me a real phone number and everything. Then it started sending me messages saying if I didn’t use my number within five days my number would expire. So I texted my sister to get it over with. But it didn’t work. Nothing happened. Then it was making me pay 0.5 credits to send more than 30 text messages. Really? What if something important is going on and I really need to talk but have no credits? You seriously need to let us have unlimited. Please fix this.

Mr.. I m using talku from last three years till dated I did not get any problem. It's an excellent void service for receiving calls & texts from my USA phones. If u get any problem related to credit issue inform them through help & support. They will help u immediately. I recommend to our all friends & people who wants to receive text or calls from any international country.

My subscription isn’t available after payment. I have been using TalkU for a business number and I lost my phone making payments from another phone I paid for a year subscription sadly after payment the money was taken from my current balance the payment went through but can’t access the number is not available. All I see is the app asking me to buy a new number which I don’t understand. As far as the money has been taken I deserve the have access to what I have paid for. It’s sad and very Bad, I feel bad in a way that I can’t even recommend it to a business partner who will need it.

Talk u app. The app its self works well for me, however my stars for checking in has a problem. Every so often I would lose a star for not checking in. After the last time I actually set an alarm so I would not forget and sometimes even check in twice to make sure it takes. Today I got another star taken, this is on your end. Tried to report the problem but the areas for type of device and description of problem does not work, that’s why this is under reviews.

Poor customer service and not informative. I had no problems with this app until recently when my points in the rewards section suddenly expired with out any notice of the upcoming event. As long as I have been a customer I’ve never knew or known of those points expiring which is why it was a shock. It expired at the end of the year. I reached out to support and apparently it fell on deaf ears. I yearned those points and when you earn something you should be able to keep them and use them at your discretion. I use to promote this app to others but until they make it right with me that’s going to stop plus I am going to launch a negative campaign against them. Make it right!

THIS APP SHOWS YOUR PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER. I purchased this app specifically due to working from home during quarantine. When you call out a pop up comes up where you click on your personal number, or the TalkU number you chose. I always pick the TalkU number and when people call back it is obvious they are calling the TalkU number. I have received several calls this weekend from clients I have called during the week to my personal number. I’m really irritated and will be deleting this app. I do not want clients having my personal phone number and information. Edit: This app definitely reveals your personal phone number without your permission. I have received several more calls over the weekend and now have to pay to change a phone number I have had for 10 years.

Latest update made it even better. This is by far the best calling app available in the App Store. Its features in terms of call blocking are far better than most GSM carriers. I love the call blocking function which allows me to block calls from all contacts but some of my choice while still being able to be notified by sms of attempts calls. I just suggest one more improvement: Make it possible for messages to be arranged based on date/time received (the latest received message always on top). As of now, if you forget to select “stick on top” on a contact, the messages received from that contact get go to the bottom or get lost in the middle. Make it better next time.

Great. The app works great for me over the years I have been using it, by now I have a problem with credit purchase. Over the day I am trying to top up my credit but not successful. I contacted Apple support regarding the issue and advise that they have nothing to do with in-app purchase that I have to contact your support team to find out what is wrong. I will be very glad if you can solve this issue for me Asap

Do not recommend. This app is one of the worst apps I believe I’ve ever encountered with. When making phone calls everything seems clear. But after making my first phone call just to test out the new app something weird happens lol. I could here my mom saying hello and my phone still ringing as if she never answered my phone call. The app is cool. It allows you to create and describe who you are and if you complete this process it gives you credit for completing it all. I thought that was great. But in all reality I’m not worried about my (bio) being created. I’m worried about being able to place a call when I need to and actually having a normal conversation without having to hear my phone continuously ring and play that ringtone music even after someone has answered. That’s just bogus! If they could fix that problem this app would be great. And if not I’d be more then happy to unsubscribe.

Awful!!. I have used the app for years for international calling. They totally lie about the free credits! Do not waste your valuable time completing the quizzes/surveys or anything else because after over an hour of your time completing several each and everyone will say you do not qualify! Prompts you to continue and complete one more thing to actually receive them only to be told the very same thing upon completion! It’s sad and pathetic to use loyal customers the way they do! I have never received any of MY “free credits” I rightfully earned! Shared the app with 20 plus friends and never received a single credit! Downloaded and completed many task.....you don’t qualify after completing! Took many surveys...after completion....do not qualify. How can you not qualify for giving your opinion which they ask for? Took many quizzes....do not qualify!! Seriously!!! Pathetic!! Doing task that should have earned me a total of over 3000 credits.....BIG 0 of those received. The only thing they honor are the .05 credits for watching a video! That part of the app is nothing but a lying, scamming, use you to get what they need but don’t honor what they are suppose to give, very sad and pathetic APP!! I’d highly advise anyone to use a different one such as TALK U who gives actual credits worth your while for watching videos etc!!

Disappointment. Not free!!. This is the 3rd Text/ Call app im trying and so far it’s the worst. You can’t send videos. My friends don’t receive a group text if I’m the one that starts it. And the first 30 messages are supposed to be free each day yet it takes away credits from me all the time. I’ve also done two different offers where I didn’t get the credits and followed the instructions and I replied to the email and they ended up replying to me with the same instructions🙄.Unless you don’t mind watching 2 short videos each time you want to reply to a text message then I really don’t recommend this app.

Whatatrashapp. I normally don’t do app reviews cause I either glorify or shame things too much. Well here goes! 1. You receive texts super late and the message you’ll receive is blocky so have trying to read a simple text thread. 2. Incoming calls don’t ring and when they do it’s last second, basically either you miss calls or get voicemails with no alert of someone trying to contact you. 3. There’s ads after EVERY call, this is absurd why the hell do I still have a billion ads popping up when I put dollars into this app for credit use? No grace for a loyal user? 4. All the “TalkU” trademarks on the app have 2016 next to them which leads me to believe that no one has continued development for the interface and operating system in almost 2 years. 5. The updates do virtually nothing. The application is clearly in stagnant stages of development, this app feels like it’s wasting space and emptying my pocket at the same time. You’re better off buying a starter flip phone from Boost or Metro versus using WiFi to make calls.

Fraud and scams protected by Apple. This company has been committing fraud on my account since September. I created a BRAND NEW AppleID with no connecting info to my previous account. Even changed my number. Somehow this company REDOWNLOADED THEIR APP ONTO MY DEVICE and is STILL attempting to make fraudulent charges on my account and after countless emails to the developer and a HOARD of support calls to apple im being told the only way to stop the scam is to PAY THEM and MAYBE i'll be refunded?!?! So not only will apple not take action against fraud being committed on its platform, it is ASSISTING THEM by selling your private information even AFTER you change it.

Help. TalkU is great I love it and enjoy using it but I have a little problem I opened an account sometimes between March 1st 2021 and made an annual subscription which was suppose to expire March 1st 2022 but the problem is i changed my phone and I can’t get back into my account cos I don’t remember any details is used in creating the account but in my App Store it still shows that my TalkU subscription is still active till 2022 please I need help getting back my account

Rusty. I like this app. I am in overseas right now and having us phone number helps a lot. And I don’t mine to pay $3.99 for 200 credits either. But when the app tells you that if you invite your friend to use this app via link to download and you will be rewarded 20 credits you never receive them. I refer this app to 3 of my friends and none of them got me any credits. I reported an issue and after few days received 20 credits from one of my friends that I invited. Later I received an email from TalkU saying that ID number that I provided them regarding receiving credits is not in my friends list and I can not get credits for them. Anyway I saw other reviews with the same issue. So Please TALKU either fix this problem or just get rid of this offer in the app. Overall app is great

Cool Phone and Text App. This text app works great considering people to actually get your text messages when you send one. The app uses credits to provide calls. The only thing I do not like is that 1-800 numbers still use credits to call. Sometimes calls do not connect but after quitting out of the app and reopening calls work well. Even at times with poor signal (or wifi) calls still work very well. It takes a bad or weak signal for calls to drop.

One of the best apps. Hello. I wanted to express my love and appreciation for your services. However, I do have a suggestion. It would be great if we could have access to more services, particularly ones that allow verification on platforms that do not accept VoIP numbers. There’s one app I won’t mention here that has made efforts in this regard, but it would be even better if all platforms could be verified seamlessly.

I don't usually write a review but this app deserves it, I have it two years , and for me it has been very helpful when for the x reason I have not had any service in my cell , i have been able to be in touch with my family thanks to this App ,,, Of course using with internet. calls are clear and the texts go well, everything’s depends on how strong your internet is if it is low of course your service will be slower & less quality, but the application meets the expectations.... i love it !! I recommend it 100%.

TalkU. It’s a nice backup to my other cell phone one is for friends the other for business or screening calls that maybe unwanted like SPAM calls or Telemarketing calls sometimes when your very busy a unwanted call doe come in and it’s interrupting valuable time when you are busy so having a second cell number on my phone has been a reall asset Thanks Patti

Wasted my money. I thought this would be a great way to have an Australian number for business, but every text used a lot of credit and phone calls did to. It’s also a monthly subscription. For a “free” app it cost more than some phone plans. I know that talking to other Talk U members is free, but no businesses or work colleagues/bosses aren’t downloading this to talk to me. If you have the option, just save your money and get a proper sim. Optus has $180 for 365 days: unlimited talk/text and 120GB of data (so 10GB/month). Not a bad deal: I only say this because $15/month for all this is cheaper than my $17/month for this app ($6/month just for the phone and $20 for 1000 credit). My main thing is that this and all the other “free” phone numbers aren’t free.

I love talk you because you can talk to anyone of your friends and call if you want to the down side of it is that who only get 30 free text messages then you have to spend credit with isnt money but you can get credit by spending money or watching a video you can also by a year of free text and call so worth it it's only 70$ but spend 70 a year or by a real plan and down 30$ a month but I love this app

I don’t know where they get this review but it’s not true. I never is wrote review for the telephone application and I download a lot . Some of them good some of them bad and scammers but this one is one of that I do not like much , It have hidden fee as no other phone number, so you pays for number and have free texts, it asking you to pay again after i received only 4 sms!! you pay already money for the number! So it’s hidden fee and it’s no problem for me to delete and download different application but since I’m apply this phone number so I need to stick with that, so I do not recommend this company who cannot create unlimited text messages with monthly plan as normal text free, text now, pinger have- this one have hidden fees. Two stars is only because I am able to choose good looking number.

Did I download the same App as yours?. • I get a second hand number, obviously, as the prior user utilized it to register some strange web sites, such as some dating websites, so some strangers sent me messages ask me if I’m ready to date, some random number call me when I pick up the phone, it’s silent the other side. Awesome. • I bought some credits, it consumed super fast for no reason, maybe there have some reason, cuz there are so many guys contact me, that makes me feel I’m so popular. Is it possible to rate 0 star? It’s the worst app I have ever downloaded.

Good. I guess with the recent update, you can only use WiFi. Was having trouble getting it to work, it keeps saying disconnected and network problem. Before the update, I was able to use both my data and WiFi.. but now I can’t use the app while out with my phone data, only when connected to a WiFi.. other than that, the app is great.

customer service?. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or not, I was doing completely fine until the friendly notification thing popped up, and now it won’t let me get back to the app. I purchased over 600 credits, I’ve been using the number connected to the credits for over a month. after not being able to bypass the friendly notification pop up I deleted it and installed it again thinking it would be fixed. Now I’m logged out of it and am no longer able to get the number back, is there a way I can get it back or be refunded asap?

Recently gone from bad to worse. The star are missing for the following reasons 1) not bluetooth friendly (this alone should make an app 1 star) 2) quality of sound (acceptable but not even average) 3) untrustworthy; all of the sudden the same plan and same phone number that had used for several times “so called low rate” is not covered by the plan, I would call this rip off if not anything worse. 4) I will leave soon unless see some significant changes including removing these stupid concept of free credits, so childish. 5) Customer service (only accept feedback) , well there isn’t really any direct service. I did request for fix anyway (totally ignored ) 6) too much access to private info in their terms 7) now uninstalled - if you see this app ::::> run! UPDATE no response from the company, totally ignore, terrible 😔 UPDATE; I recieved a message through apple service: reflecting developer request to fix this through app. The app is uninstalled I already did ask for fix and refund through app before uninstalling but - was ignored then, still no eefund yet.

Used to work pretty good. Leaving this review because for a while now, it won’t notify me when someone calls! No ringing, nothing until AFTER the caller hangs up. Some calls are important and there’s no way for me to call back and get ahold of someone. (ie unemployment) I’m sure lots of people know how difficult it is to get ahold of them. There’s no cell service where I live and this app was helpful for sure! But like I said, not helpful when I need to know someone’s calling. I’ve also been getting random texts from people I don’t know. Like somehow my number gets cross connected with others. It’s weird.

Kinda scammy. The app serves its purpose. You can text free for a couple days and pay if you wanna continue. You can use credits afterwards. Either I had a bad number or the app has a lot of fake text messages and “subscriptions” being sent to you to use up all your credits and force you to buy more. I don’t see any option to remove incoming texts from numbers you don’t know. In the 3 day trial, I’ve had about 6 different numbers texting me using up all my credits. I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Serious credit issues as possible fraudulent scam. Since I've started using the app months ago I have lost and not be given over 150+ credits. Time after Time I've won 5, 10, 1s, etc. that never added to my total. Over and over after winning, no change. Spending minutes and minutes watching ads/videos to complete the credit requirements etc. only to not receive anything after completion. Then if that wasn't enough, time and time again I'll make a single call that was busy, or answered and spoke for less than a minute and my credits dropped from 15 down to 5, or 10 down to 3. Or during one of the busy calls, it dropped twice at once. Or sending 4 text messages would deduct 5-10 credits. You've seriously stole my credits and promised winning credits and time from me over and over misreporting, misrepresenting, making fraudulent claims towards credit I've never received or lost.

Ripped off by Talku - Avoid at any cost!. Used the TalkU service for maybe 5 years, worked OK, sometimes sketchy, but usually worked okay. But then, after running out of credits, decided to purchase the one year unlimited talk and text deal for $69 through the Apple app store. This was back in mid March 2020. It is now over a month later, end of April 2020 and service still does not work due to lack of credits. I have sent countless emails to TalkU without any reasonable response, except for one... The email from TalkU admitted that on some networks they cannot actually provide the unlimited service - they didn't say which network - I have Verizon... So they gave me 25 credits to start the service again. Huh? Should be more like 3,500 credits! Those 25 credits got used up in an afternoon and I was back to no service. So I sent the company more emails requesting that they simply give me $70 worth of credits so I could at least use the service that I paid for - crickets - no response. Really? Is it so unreasonable to expect to receive what we pay for? If TalkU knows that the $69 deal sometimes doesn't work, why don't they admit that and then give a comensurate number of credits like 3,500, which is in line with other credits pricing on the TalkU system? Unless you enjoy futile customer service experiences and getting ripped off, I recommend you avoid TalkU. There are many other options out there! Thanks for reading, and good luck!

App refuses to use wi-fi. Devs really have big *****. The app is shutting the phone’s wi-fi as soon as I open it so I cannot take advantage of the crappy but very needed credit rewards that can be earned watching ads, which require wi-fi because of the data consumption. I got no active numbers, all expired, so what’s the silly issue about someone with no active numbers using the app via wi-fi? What’s the loss for you there? I am definitely on the wrong job career; I should be writing apps because I would be rich in a very short time thanks to all the abusive tricks I could do without being scolded.

It’s makes no sense that I had 200 credits which I bought for 4.99 and I made a call that lasted 21 second and almost half of my credits are gone. I’m down to 109 credits. You people are ridiculous, I didn’t even speak to the person it went straight to voice mail and you guys charged for the ringing. You guys should be ashamed of yourself me if you are allowing this to happen. I need my money back because this isn’t the first time the credits were taken from just the phone ringing. Maybe more people would use the app and tell their friends about it if it was fair.

I used to be able to call Australian numbers including my own, but for a few months this is no longer working. I can ring USA numbers without a glitch. But I know they have must have changed the settings. I haven’t changed anything including the mobile numbers and Country codes that used to work before, and this also goes for sms’s. It’s not a phone fault either as we have 5 mobiles and none work including iPhone 13. Please don’t try to make yourself look good by asking me to contact you directly. You know the situation exists, so how about telling us all on here why Australian numbers can’t be called from 2 USA numbers I paid for? Who knows, I am probably restricted to only calling USA numbers and not just Australian numbers.

borderline scam. this app ate $5.49 and provided no results. i needed to make an account for my grandpa on an app that required a phone number. it really wasn’t worth buying him a sim since he would only be using this app. when looking for a solution, i stumbled upon this app. i figured it would be okay to use this phone number to receive a verification code and once i made an account i could link an email instead of a phone number. that wasn’t the case. the 6 digit verification code was starred out, so in order to receive the code, i’d have to pay monthly to “lock in” my number. i decided to go for it, as it would be cheaper than buying a sim, but upon receiving the verification code, it turns out secondary phone numbers aren’t allowed. there was no warning before i purchased the phone number, so i basically just wasted $5.49. after digging around to see what i could do with the $5.49 i spent, i found out that you have to continuously spend more money on coins to actually call and text frequently. i’d also be paying $7.99/week to keep the number which is honestly more expensive than some phone plans i’ve seen. this was not as advertised. i immediately canceled the subscription as this app is completely garbage and wasted both my time and $5.49. i went to their website looking for customer support and was greeted with essentially a glorified google form telling me that someone would “be in contact”. in my experience, those forms almost never work. don’t download this app. i would rather pay for a sim next time so i know i won’t be disappointed. now i just need to figure out how to get the $5.49 back.

Satisfactory app. You can text your friends and parents for “free.” Excellent app. You use credits. By checking in each day you earn 1-3 credits. It takes 1 credit to text anyone and 0.5 credits to text TalkU users. One of my main troubles that keeps it from getting another star, is that sometimes TalkU seems to forget about the credits I have earned and I restart at zero (0). Other than that I recommend this app to people who need an extra phone number or can text only those with the same-brand phones as themselves.

App compromised with password logger!!!. The app is once again compromised! Someone has attached a fake Apple ID login pop-up designed to record and steal your log in information! The pop-up appears every time the app is opened. This has been going on for multiple months now. If you are using this app, it would be wise to change your Apple ID password ASAP. Until TalkU decides to wake up and fix this, when you see the pop-up, DO NOT enter your password! Just touch the cancel button and it will disappear.

The only thing I’ve been able to find thus far worth complaining over is the fact that this application requires “credits” for one to use their free number(s) to do anything other than send and receive text messages. . . Whereas most other text/call applications nowadays simply offer the user unlimited calling and texting to the user(s).

recommend. TalkU is definitely top 3 among those phone call apps I used before, a lot of cool calling features, free to make unlimited text messages and remain uncharged. If you want to call and text free and save money at the same time, this app might be helpful for you.

Messages not coming through. I have attempted to contact TalkU to fix this issue but there is no way to do so. When I try to report a problem, it says “this device cannot send email”. I’m using a brand new iPhone. Messages are not coming through properly at all, and it’s becoming a serious issue I did not pay for this number just to not be able to effectively use it.

Spam calls. Service was nice at first, used it as a second number and a set up for some throwaway subscriptions. But after a while I started getting bombarded with robo calls. I usually tell them not to call back. But today was the final straw after receiving 51 calls in ONE day. I just can’t take it anymore.

May be a useless gimmick used to lure consumers. In my experience I HAVE to either earn or buy credits to place calls contrary to what you’d imagine in the header IMO this is a waste of time download TextNow it’s waaaay better in terms of features, reliability, and the value you get. Ok for the price. Sometimes the calls or messages lag or take forever to come through. I like the fact that you can pay for your number and bot have to use it for awhile. I don’t like that you have to pay a $100 dollar fee to port out your number. That’s just unreasonably too much.

Not worth your time. Had the app for 3 days. Didn’t pay for premium or to get credits. Instead I watched the ads to get their “free credits” I was up to 40 credits this morning. I checked back about 2 hours later and now have 19.5 credits. I didn’t call, text, or use the service for anything. So they took 19.5 credits from my account and never returned them. I deleted the app and chose a better service TextMe. Don’t waste your time with this crap app.

Awesome. This app has revived my calling and texting. I was having issues with my provider and everything went south. After trying get right after two days I decided a change was definitely needed. This truly is the way to go!

If I could give zero stars I would. It does not work. They try to get you to purchase, and it still doesn’t work. Company will not give a refund so beware! Great Phone Calling App. Great app for keeping burner numbers, especially keeping several all in one place but I wish they were a little more like Google Voice for some things. Can't have it all. So far no connection issues and only one dropped call. I've had them for almost one month.

It’s frustrating at times. For the most part I haven’t been able to find any other text/call free app that legitimately works. Although this app is frustrating at times.. sometimes I’m able to use ONLY a strong WiFi to answer calls and other times I’m only able to use cellular data. Very inconsistent and very frustrating being the calls that come in are VERY important that I answer.

I am very disturbed. I sat there working to translate 2 languages. I was told I'll be getting 20 credits for every 1000 words. I GOT ZERO. Not only that, I had approx. 60 credits. I didn't use it for 2 days (except doing the daily check-ins for free credits. I come back and I have 4 credits in my balance account! I got 6 messages. How did I lose approx. 55 credits. I didn't use any today, and I only have 2.7!!!! They're cheaters! One thing for sure, don't be part of the translation team. I'm going to erase this app. But be smart! I hate this. Don't download.. I was looking for an app so that I could text my mom and my father who I barely get to see. At first (for the first like five minutes) it was fine. Good app but not sustainable to use. I’m abroad at the moment and I try to communicate with aged people back home, I have to spend close to $20 every week or more to talk to them and text with this app. As someone who has been using the app for a long time, I suggest a monthly unlimited plan of like $10 for USA and Canada numbers. That’s how other apps like text now work. This is a scam and no way is it sustainable. No way!

Good app you can text and call people over Wi-Fi you can earn credits by viewing ad is it in different things and downloading games pretty easy you can get Exter add-ons with this app and it took me like two days to get three of the add-ons pretty good app for free give it a try

Some issues. This is a great app there is one thing that get annoying. They are continually threatening to take the phone number I chose away because I do t use it all of the time. But when I do use it they still want to take it away. Please just let people keep their numbers use it goes unused for months.

It gets the job done. The calls are clear but the speaker volume is super low and it doesn’t work well with cutting out other apps ie. Using the GPS while driving when I receive a call I cannot hear anything the other person is saying. I literally have to close out the app and then talk.

Not taking my existing phone number. This app is so old looking and certain things aren’t clear. I have used my existing cell phone number, they have deleted that from talku and now I am trying to re-use my regular cell phone number they say it’s been used but not allowing me to use it again. They want me to purchase another number from them with either weekly or monthly subscription which is super inconvenient and costly. I’d recommend you guys to upgrade the app asap.

Slow but cheap. It’s cheap but it tried to get you spend more. It’s pretty good, you can have multiple numbers at once if you and it has auto google translate with replace. The main problem is the app is kinda slow so not all msgs get through or gets transmitted. And it also save my daily contact list and calls and txts to a file app which defeats the purpose of privacy.

Best phone app I’ve used. My only complaint is a voice recording that loudly and rudely warns you & the other party during your conversation if you are low on minutes. US and belgium numbers. Super easy! I got 2 phone numbers from TalkU, one US number, one Belgium number. I use them to make free phone calls, send pictures, videos etc. it is not just about numbers, calls and texts, it is also a social networkling app like Facebook, Telgram.

Every time I try to open app it closes out.. I’ve had this app for a long time and usually never have problems. For some reason though today every time I try to open the app it closes out. This is REALLY inconvenient right now as the only way for my work to contact me is through that TalkU number. Great APP. My cell was disconnected, which wasn’t a problem, until I had to work from home. I’m on conference calls most of the week. This application was perfect in getting the job done. I was able to make and join conference calls. I am very pleased with this app.

Not bad. App works for redirect calls and a cheaper rate for others to call you if they have to pay for calling. Credits run out fast but offers help- not all offers work for points due to too many web redirects

Good option for second line. Been using this app for two years now and it comes in handy for second line. You can pay for more features if needed.

For me it works fine. I have had it for two months plus and it has worked fine all the time. Call clarity is perfect and great. Extra features give u free calling credit. Cons Occasionally a certain number calls but talks about something i know nothing of. All in all is a great app from end
