Great for clinical support. During med school and residency I always had the pocket Sanford in my lab coat, was able to impress my mentors with a solid understanding of antimicrobial therapy supported by evidence, still use this today 19 years later, tell all my students to get it.

Great app. I love this app! I am an internal medicine intern and this app is essential for being on call. At night I can just look up any drug/disease process and it tells me dosing. Highly recommend

Fantastic. I’ve used Stanford’s for 20 years. The app is much easier to read and updates more frequently than the ring binders. I appreciate the links to referenced studies.

Paternalistic. I downloaded the app but find that was not actually a purchase. I am glad the purchase was not final as I see I missed an important point. With further evaluation I discovered the content will disappear after one year. When I have purchased materials, what I do with the resource is my business. It appears such intense control of the resource may be for greed. When others have addressed this concern, I read the responses which state the purpose of the disappearance of materials was to discourage use of outdated material. What does my use of materials have to do with you? You are not my father. I don't buy that excuse, so I am not buying the resource. I am disappointed in the name and will find another resource to invest my trust and my money in. Sad day.

Great app. I love the app. It is so much easier than the book!

The Chinese book. I a pulmonary and critical care physician. This is a great resource I have been using for over 20 years. After one gets used to navigating through it proficiently, it an invaluable asset.

Essential resource. The antibiotic information is complete, up to date, easy to find, and evidence based. Not only is information on susceptible bacteria and clinical uses provided, along with dosing and treatment duration, but also potential drug-drug interactions, adverse effects, and dosing adjustments for patients with renal or hepatic disease.

Excellent app. I am just finishing DNP school and have used this app for the last year. It makes things simple and easy to find, especially when you lack time to access your computer.

Great resource. Regular updates to help with antibiotic selection, and information on pathogens and resistance patterns is helpful. Will continue to subscribe for the foreseeable future.

Great app! Better than the book because it is always up to date!. Easy!

Recent update has affected Activity Spectra. Now the Activity Spectra doesn’t work, Specifically it is very difficult to scroll down through the pathogen’s you have to wait five seconds for it to scroll two lines. I don’t know what they’ve changed recently but it used to be very smooth. Edit: app developers fixed issue quickly and responded to my query! Updated to 5 stars!

Essential. Up-to-date, comprehensive, clear, succinct. Have used it for years, wouldn’t practice without it.

So easy and informative. This is so much easier to use than the actual hard copy, which was pretty easy! Would recommend this to any pharmacist or practitioner.

A must have clinical app. 100% worth paying the subscription, no question.. Hands down, this is a must have clinical app! Makes point of care decision making fast, easy, and efficient. Best of all, it’s evidence based!

Just get the book. The app is poorly designed and glitchy. Even when it worked initially, it was difficult to locate info quickly. In a setting where I need to quick answers, I end up using another source. I’ll be cancelling and getting the book instead.

Checking subscription. I would like to start off by saying that it is a wonderful app and a great resource for my first year of residency. My only gripe with it, is that since yesterday I have not been able to access the app because it keeps saying that it is “checking subscription”. I paid for the app two months ago. Once the issue is desocupes I will happily este this 5 stars

PGY3 Internal Med Resident. This and UpToDate. Best work related apps on my iphone. All the ID fellows use this one at my institution. It's much better than the Hopkins app in that it gives you direct evidence based recommendations based on indication and then, conversely, breaks down each antibiotic and what their primary "recommendation" is as well as what indications they are "approved" for. On top of it all, this is the best most accessible antibiotic biogram I've seen.

Wonderful resource. The Guide is an indispensable resource for inpatient care. It is up to date and easy to use for everything from obscure parasitic infections to intraperitoneal dosing of common antibiotics.

Super helpful!. I am a novice in the field and was carrying around the Sanford book, then my preceptor introduced me to this app. It has been a life saver! I love the organization. Very simple, clear, and to the point. I love the citations linked within the text.

Sanford Guide made easy!!. This app is so much easier to use than the actual book, and I consult it almost everyday at work!

Lack of help. I’ve had the Sanford Guide book for several years, the last two years I decided to purchase through the App Store and everything was fine until a message appear while I was doing some research that says “Your subscription has expired” and I checked in my subscriptions and the invoice and it clearly says I have full access until December 2020, so this clearly a way to make you pay twice and I haven’t received any kind of help. The advices they give doesn’t work. I need you to fix this issue or give me my money back.

Update: fixed!! (App now freezes when searching). I have been using the app for several years now, and have been loving the app. I have recommended to numerous colleagues and residents I teach. However, the app now seems to hang when using the search function. I believe this has been happening since the most recent update, perhaps last couple of weeks. The search function is honestly the most important function as you don’t have to look through the book like I would have to with a physical copy. So I stopped the subscription before it was time to renew. I’m considering buying the web edition even though it’s more expensive. Hopefully search function doesn’t freeze the app on the web edition. And I hope I can use the web edition as a PWA on my phone. 🤞🏼Hopefully the developers will fix the bug soon! Update: soon after the above review, the issue was fixed. The search function works as well as before. Thank you to the developers for listening!

Can’t log in anymore. My subscription is currently paid up through February 2021, but the app is nonfunctional. I can’t log in, nor will the app allow me to send a password reset email. There is no email support displayed on the app. I’ve tried deleting the app, but now it won’t reinstall. I am writing this as I noticed others having the same issue. Really don’t know what to do. Have used this guide for 20 years. Now I am thinking I need to cancel my subscription and look for another guide before my auto-renewal in February. I’d appreciate any help from the developer- if someone sees this. Thanks ..

Sanford Guide. I’ve been using the Sanford Guide since 1980. I was overjoyed when it became available digitally and have been a faithful subscriber of that format. Excellent!

Must Have this. Sanford has been a "gold standard" for 40 years. I use it exclusively

Love it. I’m a med student and I got this app after a preceptor recommended it to me. I absolutely love it. Very comprehensive and easy to use. I’m now in my third year of med school and I use this app all the time. Highly recommended

Best App!. I use this app every single day I work. I absolutely love it! It has helped me make important recommendations that has helped save lives. Something I would love to see the app do would be to compare susceptibilities side by side with “selected” antibiotics.

Physician. Very reliable, easy to read format

Previously Useful - Updates now make app. Previously used this app every single day in practice since white app was first released. Recent updates have made finding needed information burdensome and not practical in an extremely busy clinical setting. Recent updates also now not recognizing active subscriptions on IPhone app. Will not renew in the future.

Last update destroyed program. This was a great app until the last update. Despite paying the yearly fee, the program will not update. I cannot login with email and password. Even trying to reset password gives me an invalid email message. Company denies the issue and blames it on Apple and the user. Rather then help, they just suggested cancelling my subscription if I am not happy (after keeping the payment). This is very disappointing from a company that used to be highly regarded in the medical field, and one that I used as a physician for years. Addendum: deleting the app and redownloading allows updating content, but any updates require this to be done, unlike every other Apple app. There is also a bug in the app that you cannot create an account despite a button to create account. It also will not link to an account you set up via the internet either. The company's response is that it must be my fault.

Always a favorite. This app is easy to use. I like the different search methods. I have used the book... then the app... since I was a new pharmacist (over 20 years).

Much more than the paper version. Excellent resource for all ID issues.

App closes on its own. Was working great for me. Never had issues with it. Been using this guide for almost 4 years now. Every time I open the app it just closes on its own within a few seconds when I try to navigate through it. Aside from that 5 stars. Please fix. Thanks

Old Friend in an Ap. Everything I have always come to expect from the Sanford Guide in a much more user-friendly format. Also has some wonderful tables.

A lifeline in my ID practice.. I’m a new(ish) ID NP. I use my Sanford app every day, multiple times per day. My favorite feature is the bug/drug table.

Sanford Guide (Antibiotics). Great! Works better for me than the books. And, it is always up to date - several updates per year. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Great Resource. I use SG every single day. And I constantly reference it when going over patients and choosing therapies with my interns and residents. It is a resource that’s much needed with ID & even just FamMed or Internal Medicine.

Excellent. For Antibiotics it is quite good. I think it is comprehensive and easy enough to use.

Annoying/long subscription check on opening. Everytime the app is launched, it automatically verifies the validity of the subscription. Sometimes it keeps spinning for minutes before you access the content wich is not usefull in hospital setting. I would recommend to buy the book. Probably faster and you don’t have to pay again every year.

After your year subscription you lose access to the entire app.. Why would I recommend an app that costs the same as the written book version but after a year you can’t access it? What a rip off.

Great app for clinical ID management. I use this app almost every day I am seeing either outpatients or inpatients. Sanford’s guide deserves its reputation; although early iterations in app form were sometimes difficult to use, its recent versions have been consistently useful and efficient.

Great app. I’ve been using this app since 2015. It’s my go to reference for ID. The main advantages to using this mobile app over the traditional paper format is ease and speed of access to up to date content. The font in the paperback version is tiny and looking up specific information can be time consuming. Problem solved with the mobile version. In addition, the references to the primary articles supporting the information provided can be accessed directly if needed. The interactive antimicrobial spectra is also very useful for rapid comparison of agents for a specific bacterium. Tech support is also great - very responsive and helpful.

Content great; accessibility poor. Love the content but the app is so slow it prohibits use most times. I can’t imagine renewing my subscription unless lag-time gets fixed.

Tularemia. Very useful bibliography but was unable to find information on geographic range of US disease.

Can’t use the app. I pay for this app through the App Store and now it expects me to create a user name and password to log in? I don’t have time for this! I’m trying to discharge patients!!

Other apps are much better. Waste of money. Other apps are much better. Glitches, not user friendly... try something else if you are a nurse or np student.

Sanford Guide. The go to app for most all infectious diseases except COVID.

Sanford Antimicrobial Guide. The best anti microbial guide ever but only in the APP version. The paperback is too hard to figure out.
