Comixology - Comics & Manga Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Does not compute. Don’t get me wrong, I like this app. A lot. I love my old comics, but I do enjoy the ability to expand the art, and to see it in rgb, the way the colorists intended, over cmyk. And it’s great on vacations not stuffing a bag with comics over clothes. That said, we all now have to live the scene in “40 Year Old Virgin”, where Jonah Hill’s character is in the Ebay Store, asking to buy some silver boots, to which he’s told he must go onto eBay to bid on them, even though he’s standing there with money to pay for them. Now when we use this app, we have to then go online to the comiXology site to buy books we come across while in this app instead of the convenient way we had it before? It’s not the end of the world, it’s just extra unnecessary steps when the previous way worked so well. I hope they decide to bring back in-app purchasing.

Terrible update. PLEASE return to the old version. The new one is poorer picture quality, no archive system, terrible organization options for library (why lose smart lists??), and enraging difficult in series navigation for purchases ie in order to get “series details” it starts you back to issue 1 instead of the old OBVIOUSLY superior method of jumping to your current issue number WITHIN the larger series and allowing you to scroll backwards or forwards from there. If I want to buy the single issues preceding and following the current issue I’m reading why oh WHY would I have to scroll all the way from issue 1 again? Also no Event or connected issues groupings like in the old app at least that I can find. You have made this app far more difficult to use AND far less profitable for you as I’m not going to spend 20 minutes searching for a single issue that comes next in whatever I’m reading or searching for all the event tie ins one at a time by hand. SO fewer purchases and more annoyance for me. It really worked well before. Why remove the most basic user friendly and LOGICAL aspects of the app??

What a Disappointing Update. I typically look forward to “major” app updates, but everything about this was so unfortunate. The app constantly crashes and doesn’t show search results. The whole search process is complicated and exhausting. Just one big, long list makes it very difficult and numbing when trying to find something new to read. On top of all of this, the worst part is the integration with Kindle. It feels clunky and not comic-oriented to use the kindle reader and getting rid of the ability to view a preview directly in the description (without having to download it) is extremely disappointing. I’m not usually this guy, but bring back the old version. You cornered the market and then burned it to the ground with this update.

Destroyed a functional app. Cannot find words to express how this remake has made this app unreadable for me. This was created to meet a few individual’s likes, while removing the ability to read a comic like a book. It is the most basic function expected in an app. Why??? I guess I will just delete it, because when I attempt to use it, I just get angry that I am not able to direct my attention to the comic, because of the strange contortions of the displays. I should not have to choose between read one enlarged box of a page segment, a shrunken whole page, or a number of shrunken segments. Those who created this, and those who approved it lack any common sense. I see from other reviews, my opinion is shared by many others. Perhaps the intent was to kill the app. I has for me.

Love it!. This has been my favorite and most used app for years now. After updating recently I saw the crazy amounts of negative reviews and had to post my own opinion. As a kid and young adult I collected comics for years and had to deal with the clutter of a physical collection. Now, with this app, I can stay up to date on the few series I still follow and also fill in the blank spaces of series and runs I missed over the years. As far as the reader, its great. It feels like watching a wide screen movie but I can do it on my lunch break in my car or sneak a few pages at work. Some advice: check the sales weekly! I've gotten so many comics for so cheap (sometimes up to 75% off!). This let me experience the costly task of collecting Morrison’s legendary Batman run, as well as huge series like Mignola’s Hellboy and BPRD comics or the Dark Horse Conan for a fraction of the sales price. I still find myself occasionally buying physical books, but they’re purely for collecting purposes. Overall, while there are occasional and rare bugs, they have always been fixable by restarting and are always addressed quickly via updates.

"Update" A Total Dumpster Fire. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I hate the new app. First update attempt failed, and the second sat so long at about 90% I was just praying I would be able to remove it for a retry—but it finally completed. I open the app and of course everything looks completely different. It takes me five minutes of fiddling with the settings to get things back to "normal," but scrolling through your comics collection is choppy enough to cause an epileptic seizure. Finally I click to open a comic—and it has to download first! ALL OF MY PREVIOUS PURCHASES WILL NEED TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED! From what I’ve already read online, the new file sizes for the same identical comics are now MUCH larger. Swiping pages in the comic feels different now, absolutely not as smooth as before but feels choppy. What a total mess this "upgrade" is.

Feels like a downgrade and has a very confusing interface. This update is more of a downgrade. The user interface is confusing and makes me wonder if the app was even tested before the update was released. The 2 page view on landscape mode is non existent, which is essential when reading manga. The previous version was almost perfect for this option when using an iPad Pro. All you would have to do is turn your device landscape and you would get a two page view with almost no space between the artwork and it would look like a single page, as intended by the artist. I won’t be able to finish reading a series due to this interface. The smart list option is also gone, which was a great feature when trying to start reading where you left off and it even listed the books left in a series that you hadn’t finished. Please fix the 2 page view mode and have a option to fill view the entire screen. Smart lists was also a great feature and now not included in the interface.

A Ruined Experience. Amazon’s merging of the Comixology site with their Kindle store was asinine and poorly thought out. It is much harder to find comics to buy, my library has been ravaged, my smart list is unorganized, and frankly even the reader is inferior. I liked buying digital comics for space reasons, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to go back and read my of stories, and that’s much harder since my library organization and browsing are now a mess. Honestly this forced update may have ruined the medium version until the industry figures a way to offer current releases digitally.

Used to be better. It’s a pain to search for anything new in the discover section. You can’t easily search by developer or genre or anything. You can’t search by series so every search is flooded with individual volumes and issues making it hard to find anything else. It is so hard to look for anything in general on the app since there is only a limited amount of categories and a limited amount of choices for those categories. Meaning you have to go elsewhere to search for something new to read and then come back to buy it. Which can’t really be done if you are looking for books that are kindle/comiXology unlimited especially if you want a specific genre and a specific format (like manga).

Manual Organization. I was extremely disappointed with this app. Its completely pointless since its just a copy of the kindle app. Why would anyone bother with two? I was hoping that an app specializing in comics would understand the needs of comic readers better. I’m talking about filing and categorizing. I have a large collection of DC comics, following Batman and his Bat family across different titles. Any comic reader would know how difficult it is to keep track of stories with crossovers and Rebirth and the 52 etc. The option to organize comics according to publishing date doesn’t work because you have new editions and collections etc. The current options are hopeless and i get frustrated following any story line. I was hoping this app would provide better filing options. I would have liked to be able to manually organize my comics into files, and order them within the file also manually, so that every big story has all the crossover comics in one neat pile. Another great thing would be to have the files then appear in a horizontal list, and be able to add my own notes next to it.

New Update is Trash. The latest update here from the last couple days is the worst downgrade for an app/company that I’ve ever experienced. The in-app interface and digital comic reader have been overhauled and made infinitely worse. The guided view when reading comics makes the images look borderline grainy, you have to download a whole sample to preview a book rather than just reading it on the book’s page. The comic archive where all the books you’ve purchased is now organized in such a bizarre way and for some reason they’ve added a “permanently delete” option when you select a comic so if you choose that option, you have to purchase the comic a second time…? Not to mention the site where you go to buy the comics to download on to the app has now been fully merged with Amazon’s site so searching for any one issue of a comic is a nightmare bc it’ll pull up results for non-comic items before the comic issues, plus there’s no way to filter it to only search Comixology’s database. The whole update across the board is god-awful and the worst I’ve ever seen, I only continue to use it bc I have no other option…

A great app and experience ruined for no viable reason. As a 10 year user of Comixology. I can say that the new 4.0 update has ignored anything I enjoyed about the app and my shopping experience. It has made it profoundly unpleasant in every aspect, from purchasing my comics through viewing current or previous purchases. I feel that this decision was done without the end users in mind. I moved over from hard copy to digital for space saving purposes. This new shopping update and reader have been a throughly negative experience. It has changed my comic purchasing and reading patterns. I purchase less, read less and as my story lines end, discontinuing the purchases. Maybe down the line it’ll improve but currently it’s a hard pass.

Terrible Regression. This new version of Comixology is, as reflected in the reviews of so many others, an unmitigated disaster. I do not recall any other app. ever going so far in reverse from one version to an "upgraded" version. The new version has become a reader only; virtually every convenient feature that made the earlier versions of Comixolgy an excellent app. has been eliminated. The new inability to order comics as in-app purchases is the worst defect. Forget this: I am going back to paper. JUST AWFUL: no more archiving of books, no more progress lines showing how far one has progressed reading a particular book, no more list of books recently read, etc., etc. (there is, however, an irksome icon at the bottom of the screen of the last book one has read that one cannot get rid of). Bring back the old Comixology, please!!!…otherwise, I may go back to paper.

Huge step back. The previous version was quite good and did everything I wanted from a comics reader app. The smart lists put things where I wanted them, and made browsing my library very easy. This new version has really cut that back, making browsing more difficult, and not being clear about what's actually downloaded and what's not. The actual reader view is mostly unchanged, which is good, but for something intended to manage weekly periodicals, this is really not great. Amazon's integration of Comixology has been largely botched and would have been better simply leaving it as it was.

Sadly I have to give this one star for now... I truly have no idea what’s happened to this app. The interface has started to tear and glitch, but right now the biggest sin is the download times I'm getting for these comics. I’ve downloaded a single issue book, not a collection, for over 45 minutes and it has absolutely nothing to do with my internet its the app. The bigger collection downloads are way, way worse. If you’re lucky and had a few already downloaded before things started going south then you’re in luck but if you’re excited to pick something new up, either find a different way to view it or be prepared to wait for at least an hour or more to read it. Hopefully if/when they repair that issue I’ll be happy to go up a couple stars but for now it’s borderline unusable.

Good, Could Be Better. I've been using this app for several years and have hundreds of books on it. It's very convenient and easy to download and read comics with. HOWEVER the app is somewhat buggy; marking as read sometimes doesn't work, there's rare crashes and such. Also the organization of titles in the library is kind of rubbish. Don't the makers read comics themselves? There should be a way to organize by story arc when a story is scattered across a dozen thinly related titles with different authors. Yeah that's partly a fault of the comics industry, but I'd like a custom organizing feature or something. Also the ability to write or download suggested reading orders. Awesome, prompt support - I always got my tech support problems heard and resolved by the team.

Great app but should be more customizable. I have enjoyed using the Comixology app for about two years now. Although a lot of reviews appear to be about the Comixology digital comics service itself or the Comixology Unlimited subscription service, which are both great, I think the user experience accessing and interacting with Comixology content through the app could be improved. The core function of simply reading comics is slick. I’ve never had any issues and the “Guided View” option to view each panel sequentially as a separate page really improves the experience for some books. But the inability to organize your books drives me crazy. You can only view your titles alphabetically or you can view individual books in one of a few “Smart Lists” that the app automatically generates (the same lists are also available in your online account). These show books you’re in the middle of reading, most recent purchases, most recent downloads, and unread books. Those are helpful, but once you build a large digital collection and start to take advantage of sales to purchase books you may not read for a long time, they have very little utility and it becomes very difficult to keep track of th books you want to read. Please, Comixology, add a setting for “Custom Smart Lists.” Even if the user has to login to the main app through a desktop to setup a custom list, it would be a major improvement. That would definitely make this a five star app.

So far, the unified app is a step backwards. The Kindke-based app is a disappointing step backwards. It is harder to use, doesn’t handle series or subscriptions as well, and a number of other short-comings. The worst is that it handles two-page spreads VERY badly. Comic books are NOT books. They don’t work the same way and trying to shoehorn the one into the other is bound, if not to fail, to at least be much much harder to get right. I’ve been a comic book reader for more than 60 years, a publisher for going on 3, and a UI researcher and developer for nearly 30. I’ve been using Comixology and other Comic Book Reader apps for nearly a decade. ComiXology USED to be arguably the best. It is now lacking substantially. PLEASE try to understand way the earlier team did so right, and FIX this once-great app.

Needlessly Complicated. First, I want to say, this is a great and easy app to use for reading comics. That being said, I have two major problems with it. 1. What’s the point in paying a subscription service if you ALSO have to pay for the digital comics you’re getting? There are some free ones, but they’re all individual parts of bigger stories, or they’re just not worth reading. The stuff worth reading is always extra. 2. If you’re going to make people buy the comics they want to read as well, you should allow them to do it USING YOUR OWN APP. The fact that I ALSO have to go to the safari window to open Comixology just to buy something, then go to the app to actually read it, is ridiculous. It’s 2021 and you don’t have a “buy now” option in your app? Are you just trying to turn people away or do you just want to make everything needlessly complicated? I’m trying this app on a trial run right now, but so far, none of this is worth it. The only reason I’m even giving a second star is because the reading is actually fluid and nice when you actually get to finally read a comic.

Why? Just… why?. TL;DR: If you are new to Comixology and are considering using it, DON’T BOTHER UNTIL THEY FIX IT. The shortest way that I can put this, is that the revamp of this app took every single screen, button and feature and made it WORSE. Comixology used to be intuitive, fast and extremely user friendly. With the recent changes that have rolled out, the app is now easily the most frustrating program on my device. 1. Downloading takes forever, when it decides to work. (This used to be faster, and you could have a queue of downloads going. Now, it can barely handle downloading one series at a time.) 2. There’s a, “Permanently Delete,“ selection right next to a commonly used button. (Which is just unacceptable) 3. The wishlist and purchase process is extremely convoluted. (That’s always been the case, but it keeps getting worse) 4. You can no longer have subscriptions; you need to individually go purchase each title separately. This app went from being extremely well designed, to hot garbage in very short order. The best thing that could be done is to roll back the changes and publicly apologize for this leap backwards.

Newest update is biggest downgrade. I’ve been a user of Comixology since 2014 and enjoyed the fact that if something was misprinted then it wouldn’t be long before a book got an update to fix a page. In fact, sometimes whole graphic novels would be updated with better image quality or updated colors. With 4.0 all those updates to all of the Comixology library has been stripped. Lists of what I had downloaded most recently, bought most recently, and was in the middle of reading were all handy feature that were stripped away in the latest update. Since 2014 I downloaded a plethroa of free titles that were usually #1s to see if I liked a book. To clear things up, I would often archive the #1s I didn’t care for or archive a book that I knew I wouldn’t read again. That cleared up my library and allowed me to focus on the unread books. The newest update got rid of the archive and now only lets you permanently delete a book. Those archives books now flood my library with confusion as every book in my collection is marked unread. This update has crushed the app I once loved and had poured $1000+ into over the years. Now the app is just a dumpster fire.

Close to a great reader but missing some key features. I was looking forward to reading vintage X-men comics, I started with the dark Phoenix story. While the resolution is is great (better than what I experienced from the local library) the color was distractingly over bright and saturated. Researching this a bit, I learned that colorist of that era, most anything before the 90s, selected colors intended to be printed on warm gray newsprint. It’s a bit of a disservice to the original art work to not see the colors accurately. It would be a great simple feature if there was a way to adjust colors to make them more muted so they can be more accurate. The guided view feature works great. ‘Unlimited’ subscription felt deceptive as many have noted about misleading people to think an entire series would be unlimited when you see it decorated with that label, huge strike there in trust. Offline feature didn’t work for me when I tried, that was a bummer on my camping trip. The UI is not bad so if these things get addressed this would be a solid reader.

Update Is Not An Improvements. I loved the previous Comixology app version better. The change in reading format does not bother me but the other details are not improvements but they digressed the features that used to make Comixology great for e-reading consumers. A few major Examples: 1) No way to see what the sales are on the app 2) When looking at individual issues, it no longer shows what volumes, graphic, novels, or omnibuses they can also be found in. Reading comics is still great in this app so, Comixology is recommended for comic readers but I rated it low because if you update an app, then make sure it is a move forward and not a down grade. Whoever designed this “update” needs to be demoted and retrained in their marketing skills

Do NOT subscribe to their “Unlimited” service.. I never read comics digitally but it’s easier than buying the physical copies of them. I prefer not to buy digital because if I’m going to spend the money on a book, I would much rather have it physical. Thought I would try this out while on vacation because I really wanted to read invincible. I signed up for their “Unlimited” service. Which by the name you would assume actually let you read more than just a chunk of a series. This is a terrible business model. If you only want to buy the digital issues it’s a good reader, however this subscription service is an outright lie. Most series with the “Unlimited” tag are misleading. That conveys that the SERIES is available to read in its entirety. I decided to read Invincible, downloaded what I could (up to vol 10 of the collected editions) only to learn after blowing through those 10 volumes that I’ve only read less than half of the series and if I wanted to read the other 15 volumes I would have to shill out even more cash than I am paying. If you want comics to survive in the modern age you need to adapt to modern consumer standards. Especially for big name series that draw massive attention such as Invincible.

Great app. This is an amazing app for people who are beginning to read comic books, and if I was going to recommend a series for beginners I would recommend the marvel masterworks, most of the first ones are with unlimited, speaking of unlimited I would totally recommend it, it gives you so much comics and graphic novels to choose from. The only thing I don’t like about the app which isn’t there fault is that all the DC Comics are only available if you purchase them. But anyways this is an awesome app and I 100% recommend it

New layout is garbage. The new layout is garbage and hard to navigate. They made it too similar to kindle’s app format which is pretty awful. You can no longer see previews for comic pages, it’s hard to view full series of comics, and you’re forced to see people’s reviews. I wish I could turn off other people’s reviews, I don’t want to see them. I want previews back. The old version of the app was much better organized and easier to navigate. I don’t understand why they had to turn it into a kindle clone. I used comixology for years and it was fine. Now I don’t want to use it anymore. It is a confusing mess. Change it back!

Best Features Gone. The old app was much better than the “improved” version. I wonder, Did they ask comic readers to test it? It is very difficult to find what is read and unread. Like many other reviews, I used and loved the Smart List feature. Another feature that was awesome was the Next In Series feature. When you finished a comic, it would tell you the next in the series or story arc. If you owned it, you clicked to read, if not, you could wish-list it right there. In all seriousness, and this is not an over exaggeration, the new app has me on comic life support. It has already killed much of the fun of collecting and reading them. I have many unread comics, but will I buy more? Doubtful. It’s just too much work and no fun.

Frustrated. I have read digital comics for awhile going on 5-6 years and never have I been so lost and confused. But what makes this the most frustrating thing is I cannot figure out how to continue buying the newly released issues of my series all it says is ‘wish list’ and when I click the link that says ‘how do I read this’ and all it says is ‘ books you’ve purchased from comiXology are available here’ which tells me nothing. Not to add but I have to transfer over to this app because the DC app I was buying my comics from for many years is closing its app on the 28th and I’m stuck here. With just a big old wish list of books and no way to buy them without jumping though hoops.

I have a very specific problem. This app used to work great. Then the update happened. Now I get a constant “this item is not compatible with this device” message but have no way to get rid of it or find out what is causing it. It happens every time I open the app. Oh and if I was reading a book then closed the app without backing out to my library first then open the app again, I get the message and then the whole thing freezes while stuck on the title page of the last book I read and I can’t do a thing. I have to uninstall and reinstall just to get it to open properly. If this one very specific problem gets fixed then I’ll be happy with it again.

New update has removed many key features.. First, the idea of Comixology and digital comics is amazing and I would recommend any one who is curious to try it. My review is coming from a decade long user who is frustrated with the major overhaul of the app. Without ranting for paragraphs, the most important missing feature for me is sorting by purchase date. I also miss the smart lists section. When you have thousands of books the smart lists help you stay organized on one screen with out having to go back and forth between different sorting options. I’m sure the way this all works is fine for books, were you spend a lot of time with one book. But for comics, where you may buy a dozen or two a week and they take 15 minutes to read, and you don’t always get to read them all that week, and often you are reading multiple books that are part of a big crossover where the order matters … so, yeah, organization is vital. When you are finished with a book there isn’t any easy way to go back to the Home Screen without clicking backwards out of the book, or the path it took to get there either. And the entire mechanism for how the app sorts books you open but don’t read …. Uggg. This turned into rant.

New Update removed useful features. The removal of the smart list is a big drawback for me. I have become an infrequent reader the last few years and the organization of such rows as “current reading” and “recently purchased” helped to remind me of things to pick back up after long periods of time away. I will occasionally buy something to read later and grouping by recently purchased as opposed to the release date helps for finding older comics I currently bought to read easier . The fact that these synced to the cloud was very convenient when switching devices, as it helped to maintain reading list continuity. The “Library” ( which seem to be what was previously “My Library” ) is not of much use to me, as I have a accumulated a large collection over many years and having everything in one place, for me, can make finding something I was reading but cannot remember the tile of difficult. Making that and “Explore” the only options seems like a huge drawback to me from the previous version. While I still go to my local comic shop monthly to check my pull box for a few series, I mostly read digital for it’s convenience. I hope that at least some of the innovative features like the smart list and others removed can find there way back into was a great comic reader.

4.0 update ruins it. Comixology used to have a darn good app. The library was easy to use, the store did a good job of highlighting comics and the reading interface was really good. Since version 4.0 the library is more like Kindles, which isn’t as well suited to comics. The store doesn’t seem to have near as much. But far and away the worst is the new reading view. Zoom doesn’t work. Guided view only partially works. In a lot of comics the panel view only zooms very slightly making it barely better than nothing. Landscape mode is horrible. The page is fit to the screen vertically making it tiny. And guided view doesn’t expand to fill the screen. Several of my comics show up sideways. I’ve got to lock the screen rotation in the OS and the turn the screen to read those. Even then I’ve got to remember to swipe up and down instead of left and right. I can’t believe they ever even tested this,it’s just awful. Prior to the update this was a 5 star app

Best comic reader; moderately good app. The is the best comic reader on the market by far in terms of assortment, reading technology, and support. However, when you have a large collection of books, the app becomes subpar. The main issue is how the app checks against all your owned books before displaying your locally stored comics. So, if you’re on the subway and you’re losing data and want to read, you open the app and then the app will check against your library of books. Problem is you have bad data so you can’t do that check. So you’re stuck looking at a loading wheel unable to access your books. Seems like this could be solved with either a small check against recently purchased OR if data is below a certain threshold AND a user has a certain number of books owned just abort the check and show local books. There may be a concern around privacy and DRM but if someone has a lot of books then they’ve given you a lot of money and I think it’s alright to lose a bit on privacy here to give good UX.

Worse new interface. The previous app was not perfect, not being able to purchase comics on the app is obviously absurd and so navigating to sales was not as intuitive. Now, the lists are organized in a worse way. There are no smart lists and there is no way to separate between on device and cloud books. The sorting options are fine, but it feels like there are some obvious options missing. Switching to landscape mode does not automatically fit to the correct aspect ratio and also turns it into vertical scrolling for some reason. It is a categorical failure of an update and I sincerely hope they make sweeping changes or, perhaps more simply, return the app to its previous state.

A second chance. I was almost forced to give up my hobby of collecting comics which I have loved to read for over 60 years due to the incredible amount of space the books took up. Thanks to Comixology I can keep up with my favorite stories without taking up any more space. I also like that I can read some of my treasured older books without digging out my hard copies and thus saving them from deterioration. The borrow library give me a chance to check out some titles I may not have tried yet to see if I would like to follow and add to my reading list.

Pathetic, Amateurish, Broken, Hacky Excuse For an App. You know when an actor gets older, decides to get cosmetic surgery, and ends up looking like a grotesque and inhuman mockery of their former self? This app is worse. UPDATE: Still a dumpster fire of terrible decisions and uninformed design. What an amazing leap backwards past mediocrity into incompetence. Steaming fecal garbage that continues to somehow get worse. On the plus side, I haven’t been tempted to actually spend a single penny since they released this embarrassment. What a pathetic step backward. Harder to use, poorly designed, and lacking basically every user friendly feature of the previous version. Did you lose a bet or just lose interest in your customers? This is literally the worst update I’ve ever seen. It’s like malware for your soul. Lacks a single redeemable feature and makes me never want to read a comic again. This is clown shoes, hacky, and amateurish. And those are its good points. One must assume no one on the dev team has actually ever (a) read a comic or (b) created an app, as this abortion is a crime against humanity.

List prices and add bundles to the app and add the violator mini series. They don’t say how much it is when you’re looking at the comics and add bundles please it would be 5 stars if it was part of it. They should make Watchmen free because they have a lot of random free comics like Thanos wins, Spawn#1 and ComiXology originals but they should make Watchmen free it would be awesome and also they should add the violator comic mini series a spin-off from spawn without it he just gets his powers back for no reason. But the good things are how cheap the comics are and I do like the panel by panel option a lot. So overall this is a great app just needs to fix some things.

Great app!. Easy to use. Plus, I can read and purchase as many comics as I want, and I can now walk through my reading room without running into another full white comic box. It took me a while to go strictly digital, but here I am. I still buy prints of my favorites though. All the sales this app has doesn’t make buying a book twice that expensive either. If you have some patience. You can always get what you want on sale. The Unlimited membership is pretty sweet too. It’s only $5.99, and you get a pretty extensive selection of comics.

Why?. Listen, I get that you want to update the UI even though there was nothing wrong with it. I can even understand how you’re pushing consolidation with kindle and prioritizing getting more unlimited subscriptions over users that have bought books in the past. What I can’t understand is why you’d ever have a release that would totally wipe someone’s downloaded library. I found this out while on a plane ride, which was horrible, but even now at home I have to remember what I had downloaded and why. I use the app all the time - why was there no notification. Really poor execution and navigating tradeoffs. I expect better. UPDATE: all of the unread flagging is off, so I can’t even tell where I was in various series. This is totally unusable and unacceptable for all users that aren’t using unlimited - like me, someone who has thousands of books they’ve paid thousands of dollars for. This might legit turn me off digital comics altogether.

Was Great, Now the Worst. I I have had the comiXology app for years and years, never had any issues or problems. Viewer was great, grouped comics by titles/years , no lag, easy to search comics, easy to buy comics, downloads were easy, resolution was great…..Now with new update, everything has gotten worse. Now it’s hard to do anything, can’t buy comics on app, comics don’t group right, lag when viewing,……..You think with update, things would get better if they could, but everything has gone down hill and gotten worse. BAD, BAD, BAD, please change back all features to old version. I understand the whole in app purchases, you don’t want to pay APPLE fees per sale. But at least revert back to old features.

New 4.0 is now Kindle Reader for Comics…and not good.. I definitely understand bugs in a new version that can only come to light when the new version sees the light, but I feel like 4.0’s shortcomings go well beyond that. The fact that less than half of my titles showed up in my library is a big part of my frustration. To add to that same frustration, when I go to borrow a title back into my library it tells me I already have it. I also cannot borrow the title through Kindle Reader due to the same reason, which was supposed to be a big highlight in the update. Also in the description of the new update it promised something akin to “faster/more reliable downloads” which isn’t the case. Let me be clear, some of these books are big files so a longer download time should be expected. However, when your titles keep getting stuck in “download limbo” and you opening them renders a blurry image that doesn’t go away after loading then I think the problem may be bigger than file size. I do not envy the developers in their task (whatever the goal may have been), but I have PAID for this service for a long time and the disruption in that isn’t sitting well with my extraneous income (or lack their of). I recommend don’t spend your money simply because of this new update, I may not be any longer.

Netflix of Comics and Graphic Novels. True, Comixology Unlimited is in fact not unlimited. However, it provides a good selection of comics and graphic novels. It is particularly interesting to learn about new series without committing to a $10 or so graphic novel and then learning that you do not like it. The price is right. My major complain is the limited selection of languages besides English. There is for instance hardly any German content. I saw a good amount of Belgium content in French, though. Reading a comic in its original language is a particular delight.

Poorly executed in several ways. There are some really neat features and content in this app. Sadly, many things about this app are poorly designed, poorly engineered, and poorly executed, with the result being a subpar experience for the user. * Attempting to borrow / read new books with Unlimited constantly gets the book stuck in “Borrowing...” state, requiring restarting the app * Confusing UI makes it difficult to navigate in some ways. The guided view can be really nice, but the touch system is sometimes frustrating to use. I hope the devs get rid of the double tap gesture recognizers which would make single taps feel more responsive *The Unlimited service feels like a bait and switch. They make it look like your favorite content is available to read, but only the first few episodes are. After that the unlimited service is not really providing anything and you’re expected to buy each individual book, BUT.... *there is no way to actually BUY books to read. You must buy them from the website etc A lot of potential here and I really hope they continue to work and improve things in the app

HORRIFIC Update!. This is the first time I have ever said this: I DESPISE the latest version of the app! The previous layout had a ton of links to work through, yes, but it was arranged in a workable layout that made each section easily navigable and I could check the latest releases of single issues by a particular publisher with ease. All I wanted was a way to see an Unread status of titles from the browsing window without having to attempt a download for every single issue in a series, but Comixology made that impossible! I cannot even see the Completed status of titles I wish to return when Borrowing. Finding the latest issues of Archie titles, for example, was an additional challenge, when it would have been a matter of ease before. In short, this update was not wanted, and makes usability VASTLY more difficult.

Making it harder to enjoy comics.. It might be overkill to give the app 1 star, but it cannot be stressed just how much worse the new version of this app is over the previous one. Everything that was simple and easy is now cumbersome and complicated. Features that just worked before (syncing between devices, remembering what you’ve read/what you haven’t read yet, etc) just don’t anymore. Organization is a nightmare. The old version wasn’t perfect, but it was at least specifically designed for comic book reading, and most importantly of all it just worked. This was the equivalent of seeing a perfectly functional car, and deciding that the best way to improve it was to break all the windows

Won’t let me download ultimate Spider-Man. Was working really well until I tried to download ultimate Spider-Man vol 1. It keeps acting like it’s been downloaded and when I open the book it just showed me the loading screen until I close it and then it’s like it never downloaded and I have to try and download it again. I’ve closed the app, restarted my phone, checked my connection, returning a few books I had already read and it still won’t download. I was able to download other books in the series just fine after trying to download the first. And it’s just this book too. No other books I’ve downloaded in the past few hours have had this issue. Really annoying.

Updated comic format. The reason, the ONLY reason, that I didn't give this a 5-star review is a small glitch between the comixology website and the comixology app. If I purchase a title on the website, it may not immediately show up in my SmartList on the app, even if I hit "download to app." I can use the app to search for the title and download that way easily, it's just an extra step. But I've adapted 😊 This is a great place to find those missing issues in your otherwise "complete run", read titles you normally wouldn't, and even explore self-published or independent writers. COMIXOLOGY UNLIMITED is amazing (and super CHEAP) so utilize it before feeling like you have to make mass purchases. This is the future of comics, people!

ComiXology Is Dead. ComiXology saved my love of comics. Physical comics were becoming such a storage burden that I started loathing the new comics that came out each week. I was on the verge of quitting comics completely until I discovered Comixology. It had reinvigorated my love of comics… Until the most recent update. The application is now completely unusable and has me on the verge of stepping away from comics entirely. The web store for making purchases is such a mess that I haven’t made a purchase since the “upgrade.” And with the current application I wouldn’t make a purchase even if I could. The application that I had once given 5 stars is gone. Now I’m giving it a single star and that is being extremely generous. The worst part is support is now nonexistent. What used to be a great support department with rapid replies has turned into a black hole for support emails. Support responded to one of my emails shortly after the upgrade and have not responded to a single email in the weeks since then. Unfortunately I’ve purchased over 52,000 comics on Comixology which have now turned into nothing. My advice? Save yourself grief and do not download this app

Why Can't We Organize Our Books???!!!!!!!. I am deeply invested in Comixology having bought thousands of books from them. The app is great (the website not as much). BUT...and it's a big one...the inability to organize our own books by creating personalized folders is outrageous. It makes it impossible to keep track of our books by story arc or any other categorization we should choose. Every time I contact them they say they will try to add this -- it's frequently requested -- but given what they've got now, it shouldn't be such a challenge to do this. IT IS SERIOUSLY FRUSTRATING FOR THE SERIOUS USER AND MAKES THE EXPERIENCE FAR LESS ENJOYABLE THAN IT SHOULD BE. Comixology: PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS!!!!

The app has become unusable. I’ve purchased over 800 comics and graphic novels over the years using comixology, and while the app wasn’t great, it was usable, and I enjoyed the service provided. The updates to the app and store have made the experience extremely frustrating and difficult. It’s pretty amazing that the app and website have actually become LESS user friendly than before. I hope that the developers fix the issues and make it less difficult to navigate my own library or find the digital comics that I want to purchase. Until then, I will not be spending any more money on the app or website. Will probably cancel my Unlimited subscription that I have had for the last 5 years or so

Worst update ever. This update is pathetic, all the good things that made ComiXology great have been tossed aside for a copy of the kindle app. Please read all reviews since the latest update - not one user has said anything positive those reviews say it all - I’m with the guys who would have scored no stars if it were possible

Good app. Very good app but it needs some stability fixes and it needs to be faster to access your library, it takes too long on startup.

Impossible to find checkout on Phone App. If I’m not on a desktop computer and purchasing directly from the site, the comiXology app has now made it impossible to purchase comics - instead cramming them Into a wishlist without a checkout. That ONE enormous flaw is now pushing me and other users to either seek out torrents or buy hard copies. Sort it out!! Additionally, the hipster “Funko style” videos sent in emails? Don’t do that. We know how comics work, and aren’t interested hearing from Yoko, Mitch or Sully how best to read them..

So Disappointing. This new version of the app is absolutely horrible. It’s slow, so far from user friendly that it’s not funny and just downright frustrating at times. I quite enjoyed the old version of the app. That was a brilliant app. I love reading comics digitally. It’s so convenient. But if this is what the experience is going to be like from now on, I’ll find someplace else to get comics.

I used to this app. This and kindle unlimited is not available in Australia however there has been so much advertisements about it. It’s really disappointing. It’s also disappointing that I have to have up to three different apps to make purchases. I’ve recently returned to purchasing paperbacks and Omnibuses from my local bookshops and comic stores. There was so much potential however after many years nothing has changed. I feel like it never will. I give two stars for all of the hope I did have when I first got this app.

MAJOR downgrade. The new update is frankly horrible. You can’t access smart lists AND YOU CANT BROWSE COMICS. You can literally only read comics you already have. Frankly that’s unacceptable when in the old update you could. Please revert back to the old interface

The new version blows.. Bring the original version back.

What???. This latest update is terrible. They have taken an excellent app and made it overly simplistic and unmanageable for Australian users.

Why did you do this?. You took away the panel-by-panel reading, you took away DRM-free downloads, you made it so Australians can’t browse new comics in the app or subscribe to series anymore… why? You had the best comic reader in existence and you just royally screwed it up for no reason. Well done ensuring that I will never buy another comic from you.

Ruined an otherwise great app. Amazons’ decisions to completely destroy ComiXology’s useful functionality and replace with their kindle reader should be enough to discourage anyone from downloading

Update awful. Bring back OG features. The loss of sorting by titles is absolutely terrible. Smart lists with unread, recently purchased are essential for long time comic collectors who have thousands of comics. Time to incorporate those features again.

Update has ruined the app. This app used to be amazing, it was so easy to find new series to read but after the update the app is practically useless. I would give no stars if that was an option

You can’t browse by series anymore. What, the actual expletive. How do you remove the ‘browse by series’ option. How on earth did the devs think that was a good idea.

Worst update ever. The new Comixology interface is not as good as the previous one it’s harder to the comics im after in my library

Fantastic app. Missing a purchase function, which is currently only available on the website (mobile or desktop). That function would make this a 5 star app for me. Reading experience is top notch.

Update as bad as everybody says…and worse. Unbelievable decision to completely gut the app. Unanimous disappointment from fans loyal to the app for years speaks volumes.

Horrid app. I have been using this app for years and recently downloaded it on a new device. The UI is horrid - my comics were recategorised and it is messy to find what I am after. My biggest frustration is downloading comics. I set multiple comics to download over Wi-Fi and days later nothing is downloaded (despite having a stable Wi-Fi connection). It shouldn’t this difficult to download and read comics.

Lawsuit waiting to happen. Reverse every change made ASAP, this is not delivering the products we have paid for. You have removed functionality, and decreased quality. Not to mention: it doesn’t even work.

Lack of Landscape Support. While the app itself works decently, the lack of landscape support is a buzz kill for users of iPads with a keyboard attached. It is awkward to use with the Brydge 12.9.

Awful. So this latest change tells me to update but it then sends me into an endless loop where I can't update nor can I access any of the thousands of comics that I have purchased. Simply dreadful. Did no one even test this before releasing it?

Great on iPhone and iPad!. There’s no purchase option in the app but that’s the same as the rest of Amazon’s reader/player apps (eg Kindle, Audible). You purchase comics on the website then you can find them in the app. Don’t fret all, it’s not that hard! Although maybe they need to make it a bit more obvious given it’s bamboozled so many users. Excellent reading experience on both iPhone and iPad - really impressed. The guided view also gives you a deeper appreciation of all the detail in a single frame. Wish we could get Unlimited in Australia but I assume it’s an international rights issue. There’s a fantastic range to purchase from, a new sale almost every day, and lots of first issues are free. I’m enjoying reading comics again for the first time in over 15 years! Keep up the great work!

Removed ability to purchase comics. The inconvenience is pretty massive. I loved being able to browse and buy on the app.

Latest update is a disaster. Would give zero if I could If you live outside the US (probably in as well) don’t bother they have literally removed most of the functionality from the app with the latest update. Find a company that appreciates and respects their customers.

Update ruined it. I’ve been using this app for a few months now and it was great. It had a few annoying features like needing not being able to purchase books through the app and having to use the website instead, but other then that I really liked it. However since this latest update though the app is practically unusable.

Landscape mode doesn’t work. If I try to turn to landscape mode the app freaks out and it doesn’t work

Unclearness. The way the app lets you download/purchase comics is really unclear I wish that the developers would make it easier

Needs in app purchasing. I would give 5 stars if there was in app purchasing and the ability to organise my issues in my own ordered reading lists

Great site, great app. Huge range of comics, quick easy payment system and an app that doesn't glich. Smooth flowing and accurate panel view. Top marks -almost. I'll give Comixology 5 stars when your subscription service goes international, USA only!? p..lease.

Amazing app, just one thing. This is the perfect app for a comic fan, old or Only thing that really bums me out is that the unlimited comics option is not available in my country, but the entire app is flooded with ads for what you get with the unlimited comics which really bums me out that I can’t read. Other than that perfect app and really hope the unlimited option is available in Australia soon

The worst. The original app was so easy to use but after this latest update it’s a joke. I can no longer tell which comics have been downloaded and which are still in the cloud. The whole interface is so confusing to use. When I saw the email the other day about updates coming I was worried what it would look like and worst fears are now confirmed. If your mission was to make it harder for people to use then job successful.

Just needs to have in app purchases. This app has always been great but it just needs in app-purchasing, it’s making it a hassle to purchase and read comics when it could be so simple. And if the discover worked in other countries besides I’m guessing America

Terrible. Trash.. Can no longer filter by series. Had my subscriptions and the ability to subscribe taken away. Have to download EVERYTHING again. This is An insult to paying customers. Not giving any incentive to continue being a customer. Only reason for one star is that the system doesn’t let me give zero. Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve seen in a long time.

*cries*. I didn’t see the review saying the app had changed to a kindle like format before I hit update. GEE I wonder why I loved the comiXology app vs kindle. The hours logged on my ipad battery attest to this fact. Think I will read my shelved comics for a while at least until I can bring myself back. Truly disappointed in this new setup. Much love for previous.

Do not install latest update. The latest update is a huge regression of features. I lost my 100GB of downloaded comics and lost all of my read/unread flags. Everything is unread! I cannot group by series as I did before. This is just the same as the kindle app interface, which I hated. Comixology was better before this update. I now may have to look into alternatives like I did when I transitioned from Kindle to the superior at the time Comixology.

Bring back the old app. The new app is ridiculously bad. Hard to navigate, books don’t download and series are almost impossible to find. Absolute downgrade, would not recommend

A betrayal.. Today’s update is a slap in the face to fans and creators alike. It undoes a decade of goodwill and innovation, and completely screws anyone outside of the U.S. It’s almost like a parody, a comically inept bootleg of the original business. Time for a new service!

Comics K.I.A. In merge.. It would be nice if I could have my comics or at least the small fortune I spent on them back, since they’ve never come back since the merge.

New version is bad. The new version of this app is dreadful. Don’t bother using it if you’re outside of the US or the UK. None of the functionality works. There’s also no good way to sort comics by series and group them together. The “read next in series” has also been removed. Really bad experience.

Extemely irritating. This would have to be the most aggravating way to buy comics. Paid around $25, wont let me download or even READ it!

Used to be great, not anymore. I used to use Comixology religiously and spent considerably on comics via their website. This app is now almost completely unrecognisable since it merged with the kindle design. I have completely stopped buying comics online now and rarely read them as a result. A huge shame but the experience is just too much of a headache

Disappointing update. Hi, I’ve been an avid user of Comixology for the last 5 years. I’ve been happy to spend a lot of money in that time building a great collection. I’ve even given up buying print comics. The latest update to the app and particularly the website has been extremely disappointing. It’s all a lot more impractical and not at all user friendly. It’s been so hard to use that I’ve now been actively avoiding buying new items. I hope that one day you’re able to once again create a user friendly experience.

So disappointing. Please at least tell us that every feature that we’ve grown to love over the years will be back eventually.

Well done. It’s great however I do wish that I could see the archived/deleted comics in the All section in my books considering that it’s for all comic books I’d have hoped to see them there. Ok so I can’t find the archived section on the my books section on the website.

After update can’t use. After a recent update it says I own no comics or manga and can’t use the discover tab in Australia . Pretty poor experience that I now can’t use the books I have paid for and have been able to read for years

What have you done?. Comics do not read or collect the same way as books because they are serialised. Merging Comixology with the Kindle app breaks collections and the reading experiencing. I’ve poured tens of thousands of dollars into comics on the platform over the last 15 years, but today I’m done.

Not as good as the previous version but works. Not as good as the previous version but works. A lot of quality of life features are still missing. If the pre Kindle version was a 4 to 5 star app, then this one is a 2 to 3 star app. I’m actually left wondering why it was the Comixology app that was changed and not the Kindle app

Missing stuff. The new app is bare bones. Not being able to group by series is a serious problem. The “smart “ stuff of the old app I can live without, but actually being aware what the app is for , serial publications would be nice. Also if this is badly formatted, it’s not my fault the edit screen in the app is black text on a dark grey background, I cannot see what I am typing.

Why USA only. How about going world wide with the app and the website so we can see Australian price and also be able to use “Unlimited”

Ui redesign is a massive downgrade. The older user interface was perfect as it was, allowing you to easily keep track of what you were reading and how far in you were, the new one is an unclear mess. If that were fixed, it’d be a fine app

Please have my comic. I REALLY hope this has the left4dead comic I have always wanted to read

Everything you’ve read is true. The redesign is awful.. The Feb 2022 update to comiXology has completely destroyed the user experience. Even worse than the app update is the online store for purchasing. There is no store front for Canada, so you have to painfully search for individual issues in the regular Amazon store. All of these changes feel so haphazard and without any regard to customers who have spent thousands of dollars over the years on digital comics.

Sick and tired of Amazons business model.. You can’t download the app on windows products. They have integrated the app into the Amazon site so you have to go through the Amazon selling pages to get into your products you have bought. Fix this or I’m switching platforms Amazon.

Not usable. So poorly designed. No access to book information or other books of the series. The search in amazon website finds nothing, all mixed with amazon CRAP. Byebye amazon, you lost a customer to kobo!

I’m heartbroken. I have over 400 titles on Comixology and the app was once my go-to platform to buy and read comics. Since the fusion with Kindle, I can no longer buy eComics through Amazon in Canada and the updated app, which wasn’t great tro begin with, is even worse. I’m heartbroken that Amazon has gutted Comixology and made it impossible to purchase comics for tablet.

Bad advertising. If you’re not going to let us access unlimited in Canada, stop telling us how good it is in app, we can’t use it.

Horrible app. Not much more to say, as a Canadian the apps full options were never fully open to me but after this new update it’s horrible.

CANADA SCAM. I saw comixology was included in a prime membership so I PAID, just to find out comixology gives the big middle finger to Canadians, on Reddit many people have emailed them and they just don’t seem to care whatsoever. Terrible. Shame on you guys, this is why people use piracy.

Absolutely terrible.. I cannot access my purchased books in my library

Disaster. So many important features chucked out the window. Comics and prose books are fundamentally different experiences, so turning Comixology into essentially a buggy clone of the Kindle app makes zero sense. Want to search for a title but only want to see series’s or trades? Tough luck — get ready to be bombarded with individual issues. Want to see who coloured or lettered a comic? Too bad — they’re all “authors’ now. That’s on top of how unbearably sluggish the navigation and reading experiences are (on an iPad Pro no less). Comixology 4.0 is a huge misstep — which is sad, because it will inevitably lead to more piracy, which means your favourite creators won’t be compensated.

Don’t believe the bad hype. Okay, maybe the app doesn’t deserve 5 stars but I know it really doesn’t deserve all the 1 star reviews from all the entitled idiots who are offended at the idea of actually paying for the content they want to see. How dare creators have the gall to want to be paid for their work?! 🙄 Spoiler alert: Stuff costs money. Grow up and deal with it. Anyway the only legitimate complaint I have have about the app is the fact that Unlimited is not available in my country but they won’t stop telling me about it even though they have to know from my billing address that it is not available to me. Not being able to purchase through the app is annoying but not unique to this app. (Kindle works the same way.) Once you purchase something the site, it will automatically appear in your library in the app. (It’s really not that hard to figure out, people.) Guided view is awesome if you’re reading on a phone as opposed to a tablet. So if you’re not morally opposed to paying to legally obtain content, give it a try.

Just saw it off an ad on YouTube and immediately downloaded. just what the title says....

No longer viable. This used to be my favourite app. However about 6 months ago they abandoned their existing UI to make themselves compliant with the Kindle UI and functionality and in doing so they abandoned almost all of the features that made the app useful. And even worse - several more features were deprecated for anyone accessing the app outside of the US. They have made noises about making changes to resolve some of the issues but I haven’t seen any meaningful progress to-date and realistically don’t expect it will happen: The cost to try and provide the same functionality as before under the Amazon/Kindle framework probably isn’t viable and their overall profitability likely hasn’t dropped enough to justify any significant investment. I recommend looking at some of the apps provided by individual publishers (Dark Horse, Marvel, etc.) until a viable alternative to Comixology moves in to fill the gap.

What's with the latest version???. A massive step back on the app. If you are not going to let us read what we bought. At least refund us our money back

Canada exists, guys.. Hey, customer from Canada here. Give us a break. Absolutely ridiculous. 1 star is too much. Fix this. Enough of this crap.

Unfriendly. This app is unfriendly

Most idiotic app ever. Why in the world is this waste of space app in the App Store. It’s absolutely useless. I wish I could rate it 0 stars. Can buy or read books on the terrible app.

Used to be a great app. This was such a great app and the Comixology website was perfect. After the updates, it is really bad. The website is unusable. I used to purchase so many comics and now I’m frustrated by the website and I have not perched a single book in over a year. It’s quite sad. I would give this zero stars if I could.

Always asking me to redownload comic. I bought the Saga: Compendium. It’s always asking me to delete and redownload the comic. This is SUPER annoying as it’s a HUGE comic. Don’t recommend it because of that.

Pointless app. Can’t actually purchase any books through the app, can only add them to a wish list. Offers no process on how to actually read these books. What’s the point.

Do not recommend. Use any other comic/ e-reader than this. Please. Don’t waste your time and money.

canada. cant use in canada

Not for stupid people. Lotta negative reviews, which seem mostly to be not understanding the app, laziness, or just being cheap. Yes you cannot read comics for free, they take a lot of work to make, and the creators need to make money. The app was better before Amazon bought it yes. Unlimited sucks, yes. But I can buy the comics I want for much cheaper than the paper versions. And read them on my iPad. That is all I want, and comixology gives me that. If you want free comics go find some webcomics or something. Don’t leave 1 star reviews cause your too dumb to read what the app is before you get it.

This app is worse than ever. It’s as if the don’t want you to buy comix They don’t care about Canadian customers They made it so difficult to find out anything about the series your interested in. For Canadians …it’s a horrible experience. Soooooo much worse than it ever was. I literally can’t figure out how to buy comics anymore. It sends me to the USA store, then tells me to go the Canadian store. Then sends me to the Canadian app, then tells me that the app doesn’t support purchases. I’m just running around in circles. I bought a lot of comics from you guys. Now you lost a paying customer Moral of the story is. If you don’t support us, we will not support you. I’m never buying another comic from you, until you make it simple and easy. You should have never touched this app. It was much better before A new saying “ if it ain’t broken, make it worse”

Terrible app, bad update. Since the kindle/Comixology app merger it's been horrid. Can't find anything to purchase easily, the app is utter garbage, false advertising. Highly recommend people to avoid this. It use to be an excellent app and purchasing platform and now it's effectively useless.

Great app. It is very easy to pay. You buy from the website and the comic is in your library. What’s so hard to understand. I usually wait for a good deal to get comics that are too expensive from my comic book store. The reading is great. I don’t understand the poor reviews.

Wish you could shop on this app It would make things so much easier. Also please make it available on pc too

Poor UX all around. While I share the frustration of others about not being able to purchase, I understand the rationale for not wanting to fork 30% to Apple. That is not excuse for lack of integration between the app and site (for instance a “buy” button that takes you to the purchase page for that comic) or poor guidance (what’s the use of telling me members enjoy free comics, and making me dig through the internet to understand the membership and how it relates to Prime?) The app was much much better before Amazon purchased it.

Canada doesn’t exist apparently. Can’t even use the app if you’re Canadian. Absolutely pointless app

You can’t do anything!!! 😡😣. Right when you come in you have to sign in I thought you could do this all for free no paying , or signing in ! This is pointless! Immediately after I got the add I downloaded- But nooo . You can’t do anything in Canada ! It’s completely pointless ! And time wasting ! 😠

Buggy & Freezes. It freezes up and is buggy when turning the iPad on/off/on again. You have restart the app. Otherwise continuous reading is fine.

🤬 this app. This is the worst app ever! So hard to access payment. Very disappointed. Not accessible in Canada which is totally stupid. Waste of my time

Needs bug fixes. Crazy high battery usage. This app uses more battery than Netflix does streaming Dolby Vision video. Makes no sense. Please fix the battery drain bug.

Buying books. To all the downvotes please complain to apple. You can’t buy through the app because of their terms of service

why. why cant i even create an account

So sad. This used to be a GREAT platform…. Until it was bought by Amazon. Since then it’s only gotten worse. Browsing the store is a horrible experience. Wishlists aren’t easy to find (or keep in the right place if you’re not American) All in all, this used to be a great platform. Now it flat out sucks.

You have to buy. I thought that you could read for free but you have to buy every comics in order to read them. Not what I thought it was.

Bring the old platform back!. While reading the comic books themselves is pretty much the same, the lack of actual comic book store on the app is disappointing and frustrating. The old app was in many ways preferable.

No longer works, don’t waste your time. If you live in Canada, or anywhere that isn’t the US or UK, you will not be able to buy comics anymore, I used to spend a lot of money on comics through the app, but it’s impossible now, no sales anymore or anything. Can’t wait for someone to create a new app that you can buy comics at a good price from all of the studios.

This app is horrible. I live in Canada and I would expect it to work but it’s saying I have to pay to use the app false advertising

Do not buy. Straight up lie do not buy

Amazon killed Comixology. This was great, and then Amazon bought it… and then Amazon killed it. Stabbed it and now I cant access any of my comic in a good way. They just stole every time I ever paid Comixology and ruined it… you just killed An amazing platform. Congrats

👍🏻. Finally got it right. Sorry to see the marvel version go(as the crappy new unlimited app can’t even get my library synced properly). Seriously after a lot of ups and downs over the years comiXology has it right… alphabetically accessed comics with guided view or full page for guys like me with iPad Pro 12.9”, and the actually sync my entire library, just tested it out a few weeks ago, bought a “kindle” version of a SM comic and boom there it is along with all my marvel comics, unlike the doofies at the unlimited app. Thank you!!

Darn good app. I love the app, much like buying ebooks, being able to store all my comics in one place is so much more convenient than having to carry a bunch of issues with me. Sure, there are problems with it but they really aren’t a deal breaker. Yes, you need an amazon or comiXology account before you get anything but it’s not much different than getting a library card really. Yes, you have to BUY most of the comics but you’d have to do that at your FLCBS anyway. Yes, you can’t do in app purchases and have to go to the comiXology web page to actually buy the comics. It’s annoying for sure but I can understand why if Apple is demanding an apparently 30% cut of the profits for doing nothing. Yes, ComiXology Unlimited is only available in the U.S. and U.K. while Canada gets screwed. I don’t know why this is the case and I really wish they’d change it. That’s pretty much the only complaint I have with the app. I’ve never had the sign in issues some people are mentioning and I use this for all my comic purchases lately. However the ability to actually download my books to my phone is kind of a pain. Load times take forever for the bigger graphic novels, even by Canadian internet standards. Even STEAM doesn’t take this long to download stuff.

WHY?!???!???!?!?!?!!!?!?!. So stupid, why can't u sign up not log in!?!?!!?😡😡😡😤😡😤😡☹️☹️

App is hot garbage now.. Apart from the UI regressions, I also have to keep deleting and reinstalling it because it doesn’t actually release the storage space when you delete a download.

Epic Fail. This is an updated review… and I’m so angry and done with this app. Amazon just totally destroyed this and have done zero in the last year to even make slight improvements. Searching for comics online is such a hassle, I can’t be bothered anymore. I’m looking to drop money on a bunch of new comics, but it won’t be via Comixology or Amazon. I actually wish Amazon would just put this lame duck to death, so another developer can run with a new app that results in a decent user experience. This is just all around awful. 😡😡😡

Barely useful in Canada. Start the service in Canada please

Can’t read manga I purchased. What the hell is the point of this app if I can only read comics and not manga? This is advertised as being able to read BOTH. Also stop advertising unlimited in Canada when you know it’s not available.

Amazon ruined a great interface.. They bought the only game in town and ripped it to shreds. Functionality reduced tenfold. No ability to browse the store (maybe in the US but not elsewhere. Huge disappointment. And I must ask: why? I can't imagine this niche-within-a-niche market was profitable enough for a behemoth of this magnitude. It is both enraging and befuddling. And it sucks. Wish zero stars was an option.

Useless app in Canada. Useles app

Version 4 is a step backwards. 1. The filtering options are much more simplistic and misinterpret in progress volumes as unread. It also does not make it obvious when you want to see recently purchased items. 2. Previous versions had a smart list view which allowed you to see multiple filters at the same time such as your unread, in progress, recently downloaded, etc. all in one place. The new version only allows one such view at a time. 3. The downloading indicator is much less helpful. 4. Version three performed quite well on my iPad Mini 2. Version four is much slower despite having less functionality. Moreover, there is one download that now crashes the app whenever it is opened and not even cycling the iPad will fix it. 5. I already have a Kindle app. I don’t need a Comixology app that is a pale shadow of it.

Could be 5 stars easy. Reads and looks great. Can now purchase in the app. There is almost no ability to filter your searches. It’s honestly kind of insane how basic it is for an app from a major company. I search a title and get 500 responses and I can’t cut that down in any meaningful way. So, you start scrolling —only you have to push “show more” every 10 options. They have a gigantic catalog but you can’t look through it at all. It’s very frustrating

New version is horrible, approaching unusable. As with just about everyone, this new version is a giant so backwards. Everything is harder to find -- the old version had a "read next in series" option right after finishing an issue, but what's a good customer experience between peons. The new version even trashed the web experience. No more new releases by date, unless you want to do a ton of searching on Amazon's site. Same for deals and offers. Since that was the primary way I found new material, I guess I'll just stop spending money and go to the alternative.

Bring back personalized recommendations. I have LOVED this app since I first got it and I think the new update is promising but I HATE that personalized recommendations were removed from the discover section. There’s certainly enough data being gathered to offer it still. The more I use it the less I like it. Used to use daily now I maybe do twice a week I will cancel if something doesn’t change

Navigation. After this recent update I was trouble trying navigate through the app. I think the UI was better before the update. As far as the content goes it’s still great, they’re always up to date on the new stuff coming out. I still wish there was in-app-purchases so that way we could just buy the issue or volume right there and then read them. I’ll give this a 4/5 stars

Horrible downgrade. The old Comixology app wasn’t perfect, but was a pretty good experience - enough that I dropped physical comics to read exclusively on the app. This new “upgrade” might be enough to make me stop reading them entirely. My wish list is gone. I’m unable to filter comics by “in progress” like they promised, so it’s extremely difficult to navigate my collection. The option to group by series is very inconsistent, and since there’s no way to view by series or by book like there used to be, you’re stuck with series (the ones for which grouping does work) and individual books all mashed together. The Discover section is complete garbage - you can search for exactly what you want, but there’s no way to browse or sort by publisher unless you have a specific item in mind. This dumpster fire of an app should be removed from the store and reverted to its old version until they give it the same functionality as the old one we’ve had for years.

“Improved”. I appreciate that you wanted to bring C’s design more in line with Amazon/Kindle, but the “improvements” make nearly every single step of the process more difficult and frustrating. I don’t shop for or read comics the same way that I do with books. Frankly, I’m stunned with how much more unintuitive the redesign has made things—at the very least, you might have spent time testing usability with folks who actually employ the app, rather than whatever “one size fits none” philosophy seems to be operative here. I have spent years on this app (and thousands of dollars), and this abysmal triumph of unusabilty and inconvenience has prompted me to think about quitting it altogether. Congratulations?

The latest update ruined this app. The huge tiles take up too much space. The default sorting options are the exact opposite of what they should be with no option to change them globally or permanently. If I didn’t have a large investment in books I would delete this in a heartbeat. Of course they know they have many of us held captive and don’t care about our needs.

Incredibly misleading concept “comixology unlimited”. If I made something called movies unlimited and slapped a subscription on it people would assume it lets you watch movies on it for free for that price. This app under that comixology unlimited concept just tricks people into thinking it is more than it is. Sorting also felt lacking so if I wanted to look up say manga I get a massive alphabetical list of tons of things that I can presumably purchase and some may be free others probably not, but who knows the UI has no real indicator and scrolling through hundreds to thousands of listings just to pay anyway isn’t worth it. Just use kindle to read or read elsewhere because this app isn’t worth it.

App “update?”. This is more like the assassination of my favorite app ever. This so-called “upgrade” has taken away everything that made ComiXology easy and fun to use. The downloads are much slower, freeze often, and drain my iPad’s batter way faster than the old app. My autistic child who loved reading Spider-Man on his own iPad can even use it now because it freezes up so often that he became frustrated, gave up, and won’t touch it again until it’s “back to normal” as he said. Seriously, this thing is like ComiXology giving the finger to everyone who has been using them for the past decade. It’s the biggest downgrade in app history.

4.0 is an embarrassment. The 4.0 update is the worst update to a piece of software I’ve ever encountered. My entire library was deleted with the update. The easy to access to comics and recently downloaded lists are gone. There’s no easy way to organize comics by series. The reader is worse. Downloads are slower. Literally everything this app did has been made worse, less user friendly, and more awkward by the 4.0 update. It’s not clear what benefits or improvements were even intended, because the UI is so bad. I’ve bought over 2600 comics on Comixology over the years, and these changes are so bad it makes me want to leave the hobby entirely.

Tough to navigate, frustrating to use. This app has taken a step (several steps) backwards. First, the Kindle integration is just a bad idea. The sheer number of comics I have dumped into my Kindle just makes navigation a frustration. Second, there is no easy way to filter out in the Comixology app all the comic books. Third, why can’t I use the app to buy new releases rather than navigating through the Kindle/Amazon nonsense? Please make things simpler! I have read comics for 50 years, but I’ve drastically slashed my comic buying/reading because the app is so frustrating.

Horrible redesign. This has got to be one of the worst redesigns of an app ever. They have taken away our wishlist and our ability to put comics in a cart. The transition from landscape to portrait is so choppy. I do not believe that whoever designed this app has ever used the previous or has ever picked up a comic. I wish I could revert to the previous version cause it was SO much better. Whoever redesigned this app to justify their job should be fired. Another feature that they took away is the shopping cart which now you need to purchase each comic individually, and they took away the wishlist feature.

Help please?!. Ok great great GREAT app—before it was updated, that is… ever since the newest update, my comiXology won’t work. I will press the ‘Discover’ section, but it won’t work! It just loads and loads and eventually says “Sorry, there was a problem loading Discover” and there’s the little button below that that says “TRY AGAIN” but that never works either!! I’m so so sick of reading the same old comics over and over again!!!! Please, please help me this is the worst update yet you have made a mistake honestly, ComiXology workers… please help me I wanna read….

Is sorting by Date Published truly that difficult?. I don't really like to complain overmuch in reviews, but not being able to easily sort the books in my library by the date they were published is extremely frustrating and downright perplexing to me. By now, this feature missing has almost driven me to start buying comics in hard copy again. At least then I'd be able to simply look at the pub date on the cover of comic and put it in the box (and therefore easily read) in the right order. Why is this so difficult to do in an app?

Still the tops. Yes, this new version of the app is not as good in some locations. In the US, I have no problems finding my books, downloads are as fast or faster than ever, and I like the library view. I don’t use the web reader, so I’m not having problems people are on that reader. And folks that complain there’s no Guided View are just wrong! It works just like it used to.

Worst user interface of all comic book apps. Had trouble with other 2 big boy (DC/Marvel) apps about where my digital content went and the response came from Comicology. They claimed they always created snd ran their apps. If so, then whey can’t they make this app as user friendly as those. Now that DC has no direct market for digital that carries their name you can’t find a list of all their stuff. You have to go to each title. Used to be the most accurate list of what was new each week was their own site/app, now that’s gone. Thankfully Mostly everybody else has not abandoned that approach yet. And then there is the difficulty just trying to read a comic. And the support can be defensive and rude.

New but not necessarily better. The old app allowed me to see my purchases on the cloud and download them to my device. The new app also does this but first you need to find them in their series and then download them and then view the downloads via filter. Many steps just so Comixology could be incorporated into Amazons existing structure.I’m sure I’ll get used to it but I don’t currently like the extra work to read my comics.

4.0 ruined a great app. No more smart lists, no more archiving, you have to redownload everything and the app can’t seem to remember where you left off in a series. The worst part by a long shot, however, is that the previously high resolution, crisp scans have been downgraded to the point that text looks blurry and jagged if you zoom in. I bought all these comics with the understanding that they would be high resolution, and they took that away. This whole ordeal makes me want to give up on reading comics altogether because I’ve sunk so many dollars into my collection that I just can’t bear the idea of spending that money again somewhere else. What a disaster.

Great if you have an I-pad. If you own an iPad and would like to read absolute edition quality comics look no further than this app. If you tilt your device (as if watching a movie) you can scroll and swipe down to continue and the image size is huge. While the picture is bigger the image is not lost. If you want to read comics at a lower cost, and not take up physical space, this app is for you!

The new layout is a huge downgrade.. The updated app and browsing experience is a massive downgrade from a previously very well executed comic browsing and reading experience. There are too many places where tapping doesn’t do what you intend while reading, things like zooming/progressing are not intuitive and the app thinks you need the most read comic displayed at the bottom at all times. This is a really poor decision and will honestly make me stop reading digital comics as much, since it’s too frustrating to deal with.

Why no in-app purchases?!. I spent an hour trying to figure out why I can’t; download, purchase, fill out my billing info, sign up for the monthly subscription, and look at my wishlist. It turns out that you have to go to your iPhone Safari App to go to the website and do all that stuff..... Just why? That makes no sense. This made no sense. Non of my other apps do this to me. I never had to do a loopty-loop like this for books before. I feel like I worked too hard for a facepalm that isn’t even my fault.

A great experience has been ruined.. I’ve recently started reading comics again, Comixology, while not perfect, has been a near excellent app for organizing and reading comic titles. Now that it is a glorified Kindle reader, an app that I felt was flawed even for its intention as book a book reader. I find the shopping extremely confusing now and the pagination terrible. I’m not dramatically hating. It’s really poor. I’m cancelling my subscriptions, turning to the Marvel and DC apps (the former is better now, the latter is so so) and going to the local shops for Indy titles, which is probably what I should’ve been doing anyway.

If no purchases, what’s the point?. As far as I can tell, the mobile phone version doesn’t let you buy comics or even see what sales are going on. So you have to make all your choices on some other device and then download what you already bought later. ComiXology is generally a great digital platform readability-wise, but even a large phone is hard to read a comic on, so in effect I hardly ever use the app and rely on my kindle version or laptop browser site instead.

Do Not Download Until They Fix 4.0. They took away all of the features I liked about the previous comixology app, won’t allow me to arrange my library as just the books downloaded to my device anymore, AND force deleted everything on my tablet and wouldn’t let me even use the app until I updated. They held my comics hostage and now I have to redownload the hundreds of books I had. New app is jittery and slow. It feels terrible and disorganized. This is the greatest example of “if it isn’t broken don’t fix it” I’ve ever seen in my life. Why anybody thought this was necessary I’ll never understand, and I hope they lose many customers over this.

New update is terrible. The complete retooling of the app has been a disaster. The search function is not even remotely as powerful or useful as it was in the old version. Not as intuitive to search or browse by publisher. Looking through the New to Unlimited feature is horrific, as it loads everything issue by issue and the new scrolling only shows a few issues at a time and then slows down as you click show more. What good is having 930 New to Unlimited items if you can really only look through at most 100? Unless something starts to improve I will be getting rid of my unlimited subscription because I can’t get the most out of it with the new app.

Average App, Spectacular Service. Used to be able to buy comics on the app which I realize is Apple’s fault as they likely took a percentage of purchases and I understand from a business perspective not wanting to lose potential revenue, it was simply a massive convenience. Wish that custom reading lists was a thing. Otherwise, I love ComiXology, been using it for years. The fact that you can sync your Marvel account with them is incredible not to mention the premium Unlimited subscription absolutely pays for itself if you read as little as 2-3 comics a month.

Update Great if subscribed and on unlimited. Make sure you reserve your comics by subscribing to a series. I have received my subs early on Monday nights. No more waiting for Dc Tuesday or Wednesdays for comics, and most of my subs are 15% off bc I’m also subscribed to unlimited. I get the new Scott Snyder books for free if I want, and a bunch of other great content. The new UI for browser reading takes some getting used but is good.

Why Permanent Delete Feature.. Why would the new app feature an option to permanently delete and if selected prompts that you will need to repurchase the item! If any item is purchased the it should be owned outright and the should be a way to retrieve in the event a book is accidental deleted. Initially going through the new interface and comparison to the old it is going to take some getting used to. Older interface a bit more user friendly. Peace

New update is a step backwards, down a pit. I have used this app for over a year. This new update has removed smart list, made all my comics come up as unread, and reorganized my comics into quite a mess. It is set up like kindle, which is not even that good at organizing my ebooks. Oh, and you can’t remove the comics after you have read them, or at least I can’t find an option at this time. Not sure if amazon/kindle is trying to kill comiXology, or just all comics. If you want to fix this, bring back smart list, give more options for sorting comics, and allow us to remove comics after we have read them to manage the space on our devices.

Let’s take something great and replace it with trash?. What happened? Let’s take a product that had no lag between panel transitions, that was neat and organized, that let you actually read what was on the screen and took into account the product it was created for, let’s take all of that which set it apart from the kindle app and turn it into garbage? Granted it’s been a day since the update, so let’s hope they actually intend to fix it and my review will jump back up, but I can’t think of another update that so obviously screaming ‘we’re dead! We’re dead! We’re dead!’ without coming clean about it.

Great app and price just wish you could organize collection. So this is like your Netflix of great comics the only thing that I don’t like or love is you can only have 50 borrowed comics at a time. The app is good and doesn’t crash or anything. And you can’t organize your own titles but the selection is huge wish they would switch it up every month have a few taken off and a few added to the unlimited comixology base (:

Anti-consumer UI. There’s literally no good reason why the user shouldn’t be able to purchase individual comics directly on the app like we used to. Simple and streamlined. This is a deliberate attempt to get users of the app to subscribe to the unlimited service which i have zero interest in doing. I came back to this after years of being absent because I wanted a one stop shop for my digital comic needs. A place to buy, store and read my comics. Clearly this app isn’t it. Encouraging people to sign up for unlimited by making the alternative more difficult and less convenient is a scummy way of doing business. Yet another good service ruined by Amazon’s influence. Thanks Bezos.

Can’t buy comics in-app. Looks great, great selection. Many reviews mention the clunky and unhelpful library management, that needs fixing. In addition, in order to buy books (anything not included in the “unlimited” subscription which is often literally “limited” to the first volume of a series) one needs to leave the app and shop in a browser window. It’s the most asinine feature-gap I could imagine given the potential for this platform to carry comics and graphic novels into the future. PLEASE ALLOW IN-APP PURCHASES AND LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SO YOU CAN TAKE MY MONEY FASTER.

Too much Kindle. Not enough comiXology.. I get that you want the integration of Kindle and comiXology to be seamless, but you seem to have missed the forest for the trees. Some of the best features of the comiXology app are gone in your attempt to make the app into a clone of the Kindle app. You gave users the option to read their comics in the Kindle app if they wanted the Kindle experience for comics. But you should’ve kept the beloved navigation and reading experience of the comiXology app alone which brought us here in the first place.

App changes. The changes that have been made to this app are absolutely horrible. It is now more difficult to navigate my existing books and more difficult to purchase new books. It seems as though these changes were made just to try to sell more Kindle which I will never do. I am considering utilizing a different app going forward or possibly even going back to the comic shop. This app now stinks.

Good App, Bad Subscription. As a comic book app, it works very well and how they zoom in on panels helps a lot on a phone. However the real flaw of Comixolgy in general is that even when you are on Unlimited, a paid service, too much of the material is still pay walled. I don’t want to pay $5 a month to get access to some series, most of which I can’t even finish because of pay walls. It would be like if Netflix let you watch some shows for subscribing to them, but keeping 50 shows still pay walled and you have to pay to see any episode of that series. As an app it works well, but as a subscription service, horrible

The New Update Is Terrible. Comixology used to be great. Simple and easy to use. However this new update decided to make things more complicated. It’s harder to find titles. They got rid of features that made it easier to tell which of your comics were recently purchased. The guided view is a lot messier now. Smart Lists are gone. I don’t understand the need for this update. I hear it’s even worse through the internet browser. I don’t get how someone could approve the new update:. It is terrible. They should have kept it as is. If it ain’t broke. Don’t fix it.

update was a downgrade. the update and restructuring of the app made it an absolute disaster to open. there’s an uncanny amount of glitches including having to click the search bar 3 times before it lets you actually type anything in. it’s insanely frustrating to use the app which is unfortunate because i used to love it and rely on it a lot. not to mention when the app updated and remodeled it got rid of all of my lists, which was SUPER obnoxious and felt unnecessary.

App suddenly barely works?!. I think the service itself is really neat, and the selection seems to have improved in the last year. But suddenly I can’t borrow books from the app. And when I try to refresh my collection it just won’t do it. It’s doing the same thing on my iPhone and iPad. Everything is updated on both devices. Now in order to borrow and return books I have to do it through the website, which defeats the purpose of the all. Once this huge issue is fixed, I’m happy to change my rating.

Latest update ruins nearly everything. I have used Comixology for years, and never has the app been as unstable or generally unusable as it is with this most recent update. It crashes constantly, freezes, refuses to download books, is difficult to navigate, and deleted all my previously downloaded books. I was able to redownload about 400 but then downloads just stopped. I do really appreciate being able to sort by release date, something I’ve been asking for for awhile, but it’s nearly impossible to read my books now and that’s the entire reason I shop with Comixology in the first place: ease of access and portability.

Bad Update. Went to competitors for comics. Update is so bad I have since deleted the app and the kindle app as well on three devices. I spent years purchasing books that did not show up on the app and their “customer service” just gave up on me. I have no plans to go back. Now I subscribe to DC universe and Marvel. I don’t own the comics but with a yearly subscription (it’s cheaper in the long run). So thanks comixology for pushing me to save money and go with a much better reading experience. I will now buy my ebooks from Apple Books instead of Kindle as well. Sad for the independent comics but that’s is comixology and Amazon’s fault.

Great for reading comics, but impossible to get new ones. To read a comic, you must first buy it. You can not buy comics in this app. But if you have the Unlimited membership you can read just about anything for free. You can not buy an Unlimited membership in this app. Much like Amazon’s Kindle app that has the exact same issues, you must buy them on the website, when it should be perfectly usable as a storefront directly in the app. I can not fathom how many lost sales Amazon/ComiXology have lost by making it impossible to get new content directly within the app.

You’ve ruined this app.. I’m hoping that you’re still working on this massive overhaul of an update, but you stripped away every useful feature I use except reading. The only nice thing added is bookmarks. Other than that, there’s no wish list, there’s no “This issue is also found in these collections” link, the UI is abysmal compared to before, and the reader is nowhere near as intuitive as before. Please just go back. I’m hoping you’re at least still working on it, but I’m putting this review in now before it’s too late. Please, the app used to be great, and now it is absolutely unusable.

Comixology. New update to the app is nice; runs very smooth and the colors look more vibrant. Very nice looking. There is something that should be improved upon that was active before the update. As you read in guided mode, the screen orientation used to flip by itself. This was an awesome feature that you MUST bring back! I’m sure everyone will give 5 star reviews once you bring this feature back. Other than that the app looks good.

The one stop shop for comics. This is your one stop place the be all end all for comic book lovers although I find it odd that you have to go through the website to purchase comics as I can't purchase any comics through the app itself it can also be a little hard to read some panels on smaller devices such as your phone even using the panel reader tool but I absolutely love this app and hu highly recommend any comic book fan to give it a shot it's so wonderful having a comic book shop in the palm of your hand

Great for new people also. I have loved this app sense day one. I'm fairly new to the comic book scene and didn't really know where to start, actually still don't lol. But the app has made it possible for me to step into the scene and experience all the different stories comics have to offer. I would highly recommend this app along with the subscription service comiXology offers to new people interested in starting a new hobby

I can’t even access any comics. I purchased the Unlimited subscription purely for a series I am very excited to read, but not only will the app not let me borrow them, but the browser version won’t either. I click the “borrow” button, it acts like it is going to download, and then it disappears. I can do it over and over and it won’t load or even stay in my library. Please fix this or I will have to cancel my subscription, as the one series was quite literally the only reason I purchased, and I would be happy to keep it if I actually had access to the comics. Thank you.

Horrible update. I never write reviews. In all honesty, this is my very first app review. But I feel so strongly about this that I had to write about it. The most recent update is a complete UI disaster. They basically took something that was working well and did everything they could to mess it up. I’ll echo the statements of other recent reviews. The tiles are too large, so you end up scrolling endlessly. The sorting by letter is gone. I really don’t know what they were thinking. If I could go back one version, I would do it in a heartbeat. ComiXology, please listen to your users and bring back the old interface! I love your content and your service, and I used to love your app. Make me love it again, please!

What happened?. I miss the old app where I could buy books within the app, and now I have to switch back and forth with the app and website. Also I signed up for ComiXology unlimited & that I had to google to find where to sign up. In the app there is a icon to click, but it doesn’t take me anywhere I can sign up, just another sign that says “sign up for comiXology unlimited.” Which is crazy, why doesn’t it take me directly there?
