Use It Nightly - There Is A New-ish Bug. I love the app and I use it nightly it definitely helps. Lately I would say maybe since the last iOS upgrade maybe I've had an issue of Setting my time and everything being fine with the app and pressing play and it acts like it's playing but there's actually no sound. And I've checked to make sure my phone wasn't muted and all that good stuff and it's not. Once this happens basically the only way I can get the app to play properly is to restart my phone. So that's a glitch I'd like to see fixed. In reference to the Developer's response: I said in my review that I did all that. The review still stands it's a glitch that needs to be looked into. The app hasn't been updated in a while, maybe just update it.

Very wide variety of high quality sounds. I love the extensive library of very high quality sounds to choose from... I would have given the app 5 stars except the backlight on my IPhone 7 Plus stays on as long as the app is in use. Which is annoying because I need the sounds and total darkness with my insomnia to sleep. The other sleep sound app I have, the backlight on the phone automatically goes off after a few minutes. The light not going out, will prevent me from using the app. I wish I could get a refund for my purchase

Awesome!. This is the best sounds app I have purchased. Awesome selection of different types of sounds with many choices within each category. I like the easy preview of each sound so you can download just the ones you like and access them in "my sounds". Also like the option to create your own mixes. Excellent edition for anyone using sound therapy as a means of dealing with tinnitus or for anyone who just doesn't feel comfortable with quiet.

Great. One thing missing.. I wish there were a way to adjust the volume of the sounds separate from the iPhone volume overall. Maybe iPhone doesn't work that way, but the sounds are too loud for me. But if I turn the iPhone volume down then I can't here alerts and messages.

Helps me fall asleep. Update: still love this app! I also appreciate that they are responsive to feedback. The timer now goes up to 12 hours! This means I can set my favorite custom sound mix and listen to it as I read for an hour and then all night while I’m sleeping. Thank you, Sleep Sounds HQ!! I got the free rain sounds app first, and after using that and loving it for about a month I decided to go for the paid version. Very glad I did! Many more sound choices and of course nice not to have the advertising

It’s worth paying for.. Positive: The sounds are high quality, don’t loop every few seconds, and there’s a broad variety. Negative: When you’re looking at sounds to download, there’s no indication as to which ones you already have, and there’s no way to build a playlist without first downloading the exact items you like. It makes that part of the process fairly clunky. Positive: It does everything it promises, and with the right headphones, it makes for a good night’s sleep.

Almost perfect, a couple of requests. Really wonderful app, I highly recommend it. However, I would like to see a way to add my own personal ratings for each sound or otherwise mark favorites. Also, I would like a way in browsing the library to see which I have already downloaded, please. Still 5 stars, though. Excellent work!

Sleepless in Oklahoma. I'm raising my fifteen year old artistic grandson. Every night I would lay awake to review the day and see if I could do something the next day to change or better our lives together. Now with the sleep ( rain ) sounds I can take my mind off of everything and fall asleep and stay asleep all night and get up to care for my boy without starting out tired.

The very best sounds.. I have tried just about all the sound apps for sleeping and relaxing and this is by far the very best one. You don’t hear loop recordings and you can pick and mix your perfect sounds. Don’t even waste you time with any other app. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy❣️

Nice variety of quality sounds. If you’re looking for a nice distant train whistle, you’ll find one on the Pacific Chorus Frogs and Train track . The whistle is not present on the preview. It would have been nice to have a description of each track that would help in finding specific things of interest such as this, rather than downloading and listening to complete tracks. There is a good variety of sounds in the app, but it took me a while to get the hang of the user interface, and I still get confused occasionally. Overall a worthwhile purchase. Edit: I tried the search function as suggested by the developer, and found that it does in fact work well. Thank you.

Hands down the best sleeping aid!. I use this everyday to relax and sleep. It helps clear your thoughts, and sleep very very quickly. Even when your feeling frustrated, picking one of your favorite mixes helps solves that problem. This app is for sure the best relaxing and sleeping aid out there, the quality is mind blowing!

Love - but could use more animal sounds. I use this app every night since I have tinnitus which keeps me awake if it’s too quiet. This app probably has more sound options than any other sound app! I do wish there were more animal sounds (wolves howling, horses grazing/whinnying, elephants, etc.), and I also wish there was an option to record and upload our own sounds. Those are the only things that could make it even better!

App suggestion. I use the purchased Sleep Sounds app and have an app upgrade for you. Link the thunder sound to the screen flashing. This would work great in darkened room and more realistic if you could delay light flash with the thunder sound. Many Thsnks, if you like maybe a free upgrade for me. . Lol, Bob

SO many bugs!!. App freezes so you can’t turn the sound off except by deleting the app! The volume slider disappears together with the back arrow so you can’t navigate out or choose another sound. I’ve twice had to delete and reinstall the app and each time lost the premium version I’d paid for. The version I have now won’t allow me to add new sounds, I have to start over each time scrolling through all the categories to find the sound I was using last. Imagine going through all that in the middle of the night because your husband started snoring! I like the sounds offered in this app but I’m using another white noise app, because it…just…works! What a concept!

Other Than Being BUGGED. I LOVE the app, but TRULY DISLIKE being bugged to death to write a review, ESPECIALLY even AFTER you have written one already. However, I still think it is worth five stars due to the sheer enormity of its catalog of sounds and how you can create mixes to suite your every need. One of the really PLUS features is you pay ONCE for all the sounds, and download only what you need for, the moment, and if you run out of room on the device, just remove some of the downloaded sounds. You can ALWAYS re-download. Easy-peazy! Okay, here's the friggin' review. Now stop buggin' me... ;-). lol

Sleep Sounds is awesome!. I have Stage 4 Cancer and getting to sleep is so difficult. Sleep meds have not worked for me so I don’t take them. Meletonin or Benedryl don’t either! This app has so many sound choices and ways to customize your sound choices, you will be able to find that sound that helps you sleep! I paid the few dollars to get the full app with no in app advertisements and tons of sounds to choose from. I turn it on to my sounds, darken the room and in a fairly short time, I’m asleep. That just never happened before. Thanks sleep sounds.

Big fan but.... I’m really loving this app. Was using the free version before but there are so many more options when you buy. I’ve always been a pretty good sleeper but age creeps up on you and I needed a little help. I keep one of my mixes on all night and I quickly fall back asleep if I wake up. Great way to avoid drugs if you can. I’m giving it 5 stars even though I do have a small complaint. I wish there were more undersea sounds. There are some underwater sounds but I like a sea theme. I also really want non-space whale sounds.

So many possible sound combinations!. I've downloaded several sleep apps over the past several years, but this one works so well, I've removed the others from my phone. My favorite mix, and the one that puts me to sleep the fastest, is equal parts window air-conditioner & Pacific chorus frogs and train. It's like magic!

Awesome!. This is absolutely the best app for sounds to help you sleep. The variety of sounds is beyond what I would have expected. Not to mention you can combine some of them together to make your very own personal mix. I have purchased many machines which cannot even compare to this app. And those machines cost way more than the $3.99 I paid for the app. I now have this on my iPad and iPhone. Now matter where I go, my sleep aid with be with me. A big plus to me is that it will play continuously until you tap Pause. There’s also a timer you can set if you prefer. The sounds are of the highest quality which makes all the difference in the world to me. Don’t hesitate to download this app. You’ll be happy you did!

If I could I would give this app a ten.. This app is like a dream come true for me! I've got so many different apps with sounds that I enjoy but it's a pain to try to remember which sounds are in whitch app. With this one you have over 600 sounds in one place! If you can't find several you love among all of these I would be very surprised. The timer works well. Some don't work at all in other apps. If you are having one of those nights where you just can't sleep then you can just listen to all of these sounds and relax while you snack on ear candy. As you listen you may even remember some long forgotten memories from long ago. Come on! Give it a try! You won't be sorry. Listen with or without headphones! Just have FUN!

High quality. Have had trouble sleeping in the past. The white noise this app provides has helped a lot. Also love the shut off timer! Wide variety of sounds from rain to appliances like fans and such. Each sound has a nice long segment before repeat. Would highly recommend this app!

Sleep Sounds. I put on the Oregon Rain Forest sound and I sleep right away, thru anything. When my wife and I get sleepy on a drive-trip, we pull over somewhere, tilt the seat back, put the headphones on and slip off to sleep sitting in the car seat with traffic noise all around.

Love it, Customize your sleep sound!. I've had trouble sleeping most of my life and would just leave the fan on my window AC going all year round to drown out random sounds. I tried several apps before finding this one and they all had something that irritated me enough that they actually kept me up. This is way different. My personal sleep sound is a creek, rain and a little campfire on top. It never loops so you'll notice and you can choose from dozens of different types of sounds and layer them together however you'd like. Great great app!!!

Thank you for creating this app!. My husband uses a cpap machine and often doesn’t adjust his mask when he tosses and turns. I get the joys of listening to the seal leaks and can’t stand the sound of a tornado next to my head. Rather than banish myself to the couch, I can listen to a bubbling river or ocean sounds. I can’t sleep without it now! As soon as I turn it on I’m out cold!

Get the App. I Great!. I’m glad I did. I have created two sleep mixes, just because it’s fun. But once you pick out your favorite sound it can put you to sleep quickly! Traveling, and in a place with no fan is what caused me to find this app to start with. But now I even use it at home. It works!

Zzzzzzz. I have chosen several rain sounds from this app to put me to sleep. My husband says my head doesn’t even hit the pillow and I’m fast asleep…so…I highly recommend this app to get you to listen to the sound you chose and eliminate all the other stuff your thinking about trying to get to sleep.

Love the sounds for work & sleep. I have a hard time concentrating with complex music in the background & detest Muzak type music, so I love to listen to the wind chimes during the night or day. I had to the same problem with the app light not turning off, but found another review that had the developer suggested to lock the screen & it worked in the background. I had written 2 feedbacks & got almost immediate responses. Just wish they had whale sounds.

Helps me sleep everyday!. I work nights and this app blocks all those terrible daytime sounds that keep me awake. I use the Australian thunderstorm and the glowing fireplace in a mix and it is wonderful. When I turn that on, my brain knows it's time for sleep and I am out. I imagine I'm in a cabin and it's pouring the rain. I'm laying by the fireplace...and then it's time to wake up. Love this app.

Beautiful. It usually takes me hours to fall asleep. I just can’t turn my brain off! With this app I just listen to the sounds and I drift off. I have over a dozen of my own personal mixes; so much fun to put together my favorites. IMPORTANT SUGGESTION: pick up one of those Blue Tooth audio speaker units. I have the JBL Charge 4 - one of the best things I’ve ever purchased. The sound is as good as my super high-end stereo system. This app played through my JBL Charge 4.... Heaven.

No lie- best app on my phone!. I've never written a review before, but this app totally deserves one. By far the best sleep sounds app that I've ever come across. Has an amazing selection. Awesome!. I have had this app for over 2 years now. I have sleep apnea so this rain app helps me sooooo much! I can't sleep without it. I have a JBL Bluetooth speaker that I sit next to my bed and use this app to go to sleep. It's so loud I feel like it's raining outside which is what I enjoy. Thank you for this app. Without you I wouldn't be able to sleep!

It Works!. I was having trouble going back to sleep at 1:45 am so looked for an app that might help. I found and downloaded this app, found a rain on the roof option, set it for 20 minutes and was back to sleep before it ended. There are many different water sounds and others which I am only now exploring. I anticipate that I will use this app often and not just to help me sleep.

Great Selection, No Doves. This app has an impressive selection of high quality, diverse sounds. I bought this after sampling the free version and have been very happy with the purchase. The next part is going to sound like a very specific complaint but based on the large selection of bird sounds in this version, I was certain the curators would have included a dove call in the app. To my disappointment, they did not. Not to sound like a total diva but if they had included a dove call, this would be a 5 star review.

Can’t sleep without it!. I’ve been using this app to get to sleep for YEARS. I love the option to make my own mixes, and do that a lot. I even change it sometimes to reflect the book I’m currently reading, and find I concentrate a lot better with some of this ambience going. Best value in an app I can think of for me!

Amazing sounds!!. This app has every sound you could dream of. It does have over 600 different sounds from different themes. They have A LOT of rain sounds, which is why I got the app. But all the other sounds make it awesome as we'll. we'll worth the price. They have a lot of interesting sounds, like rain on a tent or rain on a roof, which is really cool because I never new how awesome those sounds are. We'll worth it!

Best sleep. I have always had trouble shutting my brain off to sleep. Five minutes in and I am out. I love the variety of sounds and use the mixes to create experiences. Camping on the beach, or deep in the woods. Curling up in front of the fire during a thunderstorm. Just amazing, and easy to use and navigate.

Sweet Dreams. Love this app! Can download sounds into App Library, and combine up to six different sounds to create personalized mixes. What’s even sweeter is that I can control the volumes of all sounds in the mix. That way I can, for example, have the wind louder and the crickets toned down, making for a more effective sleep inducer. Mixes have me drifting off in no time. In the past, I’ve woken up in early morning to use bathroom and found it difficult to fall back asleep, but with Sleep Sounds mixes I’ve created, I’m back to Dreamland. App also allows me to set duration of time that mix will play and then automatically stop. I usually set it for 30 minutes, but I’m lucky to conk out in minutes. Great app at a good price!

Rain Sounds. I used the free version of this app. for awhile and really liked it - so much so that I decided to buy the full version. With 600 sounds to choose from I know I will find more that I like. I am rating this right after my purchase as someone else mentioned being asked a lot for a rating - so I am doing it now and hoping for no requests to do so. Perfect app with amazing customer service. This app is amazing. I feel so relaxed when I listen to it. Everyone in my family enjoys using it. I play it for my 3 year old son when I'm getting him ready for bed. I love many of the categories. Their customer service is above and beyond any other app. I had sent feedback wanting certain sounds and was surprised to get a personal response giving the perfect suggestions for what I wanted. Roy knew exactly what I was looking for and help me create the perfect mix.

Just what I needed. After trying myriad apps like this, I have found this to be by far the best. I suffer from a condition in my back that leaves me in incredible pain 24/7 and sleep is hard to come by. I use this app to create a mix of ambient sounds that combined with a Bluetooth headphone/sleep mask has worked wonders in helping me sleep. I encourage anyone with difficulty sleeping to give this app a shot.

Great app. I love that you can blend the sounds together to make your own personalized mix. I personally would like more chime, chants, and bell choices. I was also hoping to see a bamboo water fountain. I love the tap sound they make as they tip over. Maybe in the future!

Soooo relaxing. I love this app and usually use it along with earbuds to drown out the noise in the office so I can focus and get things I need to do finished. It is perfect and I love that you can layer the sounds together!!! My favorite sounds are pebble beach and some of the thunder storm sounds. Camp fire is nice too. All Lovely!!! The pebble beach has audible rocks rolling around in the surf and it’s super relaxing. My hands down fave.

Wonderful sleep app!. I've tried plenty of sleeping aid apps, yet I keep coming back to sleep sounds. You can mix and match different sounds to make exactly what you want. There are hundreds of different sounds you can download. Add in the timer function, so that it doesn't interfere with your alarm in the morning. Just an all around, awesome app!

Light Sleeper. I have always been a light sleeper and now that I have turned 50 my ability to fall asleep has gotten worse. I really like this app so far because it chills me out and I fall asleep pretty quickly. I used the free version first but decided to pay to get more options. I love the ocean sounds. So far so good 😴

Best money I ever spent. I have purchased many apps over the last few years, since getting a smart phone, and almost every time I use them for a short period of time and then stop using them. This app couldn’t be better but.... I love this app! It will take you on a mental journey away from our stressful world. I just have one request. Can you add a low toned fog horn or two? You only have one nautical fog horn. I grew up on the shores of Jamaica Bay in The Rockaway peninsula in nyc. The low toned fog horns at night used to relax and make me sleepy! The only one fog horn you have is high pitched. Now with all that aside, this is one awesome app, and the upgrade is sooo worth it! No distracting adds and many more choices of places to mind travel unto! Best 5 dollars I’ve ever spent! Free is not always better! Good luck and enjoy! Well worth the money!. I love this app! they already have another app for free (which I tried) and loved!! So I bought this and now I have so many more sounds! It's such amazing quality. It's not like all the other sound apps that are just generic rain or beach noises. This app has specific places that are actually very realistic. And for such a low price! I have never slept better. Use it all the time. I have anxiety and tend to not be able to shut off a night without some sort of noise in the background. Most apps have poor quality audio but I found this app to have high quality audio which changes everything. I have found this app to be my go to when I'm anxious or exhausted. Read before you buy. I have been using one of their other apps “rain sounds HQ” but fell for the repeated ads to up grade to this version. If all you want is essentially rain sounds and the ability to mix the sounds, then learn from my mistake. The audio quality is the same and you get a great range of sounds. At AU$10.99 it’s one of the most expensive apps I have ever bought and I’ll probably delete it. 👎

How to sleep in hospital intensive care ward. This app is fantastic and the first app I have ever bothered to review. Huge choice of sounds, and u can make your own mixes. Great for blocking out loud neighbours , helping the baby sleep longer, or just to relax. This app also helped me sleep during a long stay in hospital (including a week in intensive care-which is a very noisey place!).

Terrific app. Has changed my life. Live in a noisy spot and play this all night every night ..... and now I can sleep!

Amazing talent. I love your work. This app is the most elegant I've used, well made, intuitive, functional and beats hands down all other sleep apps I've tried in apple app store (paid and free). In fact, it's one of the best apps I've ever download from the app store for the reasons above and I'm including the great ones like whatsapp, viber and sleep cycle in this. What's more, it works! It has an extensive library of great quality sounds and an excellent sound mixing area. You can plainly see that the creator of this app is switched on, creative and really does know how to take the end-user's point of view when developing software. If you'd like to experience where software design and art blur, then have a look at this app.

Great for studying too!. This app is the best I've found. I have difficulty studying with a noisy environment, and this app makes it possible. My favourite are the rain sounds. Helps my study and getting to sleep afterwards. Best yet!!!🤓🤓

Great app for relaxing background sound. I use Sleep Sounds HQ to help my son fall asleep when he's anxious about high winds or storms outside. I also use my favourite rainforest or ocean sounds when my neighbour has his music pumped up while I'm trying to work from home. Its great to help me keep focused and blocks out the other music. Love this app!

Very relaxing & a good value. After searching through several versions I settled on this one after trying the trial. There are some good relaxing natural sounding sounds that are very realistic, some are a bit much but they might be appealing to others so its all good. The interface could use some improvement to simplify it, and mixing could use track optons such as occurance rate or a random function would help. One deciding factor is that a subscription is not required, I refuse to keep paying over and over for the same thing so KUDOS to the developer for not being greedy!

Lovely Sleep. I love this app. I no longer hear my husband moving about in the morning or snoring at night. It’s so enjoyable to just sleep. Only my third night so still exploring sounds. Great!. Like how the sounds are the real deal, natural which makes a huge difference when falling asleep. It feels like I'm there beside the sound. Could use a bit of improvement which doesn't affect performance, please add heartbeat and turn up volume a bit:)

Love it, Use every night. So many wonderful sounds. I like that I can mix them together and also the timer feature Is useful. I sleep like a baby with sounds that remind me of my childhood home. Feel cozy and safe with a blizzard outside and a cracking fire, or a warm summer night with gentle wind and frogs peeping. I use white noise or loud fan to block out background noise when doing shift work. So many sounds to choose from and new ones keep getting added too!

Amazing App. I love this app, had it for a few years and bought the full version a year or so ago, worth it. The wide selection of rain and fire sounds are exactly what I wanted. I do wish there were a few more sounds, like a greater variety of soundscapes and public places ones for example. I also wish that I could add more than 6 sounds to a single mix. I would absolutely love this app more than anything if I could add my own songs into a mix as well, so that I could play my music along with the rain and other sounds on a loop. If something like that could happen it would be a five star app, though I do think it’s wonderful now. Thank you so much for the app now and hopefully it just gets better. Great job.

The best sleep’s ever. This app is incredible. I have a hard time falling asleep, this app has such a wide range of sounds to help get you to sleep.

This app rules!. Hundreds of high quality sounds to choose from. Definitely cheaper than running a fan all night and a lot easier to travel with!

Finally upgraded to pro. I had the free version for years, there’s so many options on it that I just never bothered with the pro version. I’m glad I finally did, lots of great new sounds to go through. I only wish there was something with loon calls, like an Algonquin lake at dusk or dawn! And the ability to preview a sound before downloading would be great.

Great app, but some obvious sounds missing. (Updates?). Lots of great, high quality, interesting sounds sounds on this app. But where’s the rooster crowing, dog barking, or air conditioner fan? This app gets the fifth star when I see regular updates with new sounds. Keep the price reasonable, and I’ll even pay for them.

The best. Needs bulk DL.. This is hands down the best noise app. It does need a bulk download (or whatever scheme makes sense.) I'm not a fan of downloading hundreds of items 1 at a time. And still, with this drawback, is say it was the best.

Great app with room to improve. Great sound quality. Excellent selection of sounds (though I'd love more :) It could really use a playlist feature and a faster way to go from one sound to another. The interface is beautiful, though. Hope to see more updates so I can give it 5 stars!

Melvin. YES!!! The trains alone are worth the $1.99 I have eight different relaxing/Sleep sounds apps and some of them are really good, but this one is the best, most realistic I've heard! You don't just hear the sounds. It seems to take you to the places in your mind! I highly recommend it!

Love these nature sounds. I'm a baby boomer and I have hot flashes that wake me up throughout the night. But now I plug into my nature sounds and get lulled back to sleep. I love listening to many different sounds and they are really peaceful, and good for meditating too. Enjoy

Sleep Sounds pretty good. Sleep Sounds does stop at odd times for no decerinable reason. But when it works properly it’s a really cool app, and it does help me sleep.

Beautiful Sound. I have a water feature in my backyard that runs from later part of March through November. This sound I get through the app is the exact sound I hear through my water feature. I LOVE IT!!!

Paid for the upgrade and generally love it BUT.... You CANNOT download the upgraded version! What’s up with that, developers?! So in order for me to play the mix I have w/ the upgrade, I HAVE to have internet so I can open the app in the app store! 🤬 NOT cool! Can combine with your music!. Very relaxing application. My favorite part is playing relaxing music, then launching this app and adding water sounds to the background of your music (waves, waterfalls, etc.). Outstanding!

Unintuitive design, great library of sounds. This app has a great catalog of sounds and once you figure out how to create a mix, is very customizable. The interface is very confusing and not intuitive. I would use it more if it were simpler to navigate, it feels like they needlessly chose a more unique design that sacrifices usability for aesthetics.

Ultimate Soundscape Machine. Brilliant app and very well programmed. Most of my other audio apps crash and don't mix well with others. This one is rock solid and the interface is intuitive, powerful, and fun.

Has become my go to ambient app. The quality of the sound samples is excellent. I regularly play my mixes through my silly expensive audiophile setup and am I mpressed by the soundstage and 'imaging'. I have a number of wind/surf/rain apps. This one is the reigning champ.

Sleeping Beauty. I absolutely love this app!! So many very realistic sounds to choose and/or layer together...great for relaxing background noise and wonderful to block out unwanted noises!! The ONLY thing that would make this perfect is if it had spoken meditations as well!!

Great but.... I really do like this app and use it on a weekly basis, but it would be nice if it had more options to choose from. The ‘music’ category is lacking and has choices that kind if creep me out. Soft melodies would be nice. The sounds of wolves or coyotes howling would also be a great addition.

Great choices. Love the app. I paid the small fee for all options and larger sound library. Love being able to set the timer and all the choices to choose from. I lean towards the thunder storms and have a large selection of styles of storms. Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVE this app!!! Well worth the money. Comes with 600 sounds and they are all very relaxing!!! The sound quality is very clear which makes the sounds very realistic. I love that it comes with a timer that I can set to turn off - when I'm deep in sleep.

Works great. My wife and I went on a retreat with a bunch of young people, and had trouble sleeping as they stayed up late talking. We masked the noise with this app and felt like we were sleeping at home with our window open.

I sleep like a baby. No kidding using this app nightly I'm sleep within 5-10 minutes. Even when I wake to go to the bathroom it put me back to sleep! It's very soothing! My dogs even fall to sleep listening.

Good Night. This is a great app! The sounds are calming and mellowing. It is a great way to wind down at night and fall asleep. I usually set a timer to turn off in one hour. I’ve never been awake to hear it turn off.

Great relaxing tool. We use this soothing sounds to sleep every night. We love it. I love the blend of sounds and ability to bring certain sounds to the forefront while others are background. Neat tool. I’d love to have bob white on the choice list and also slow down the chatter of birds. Otherwise nifty!
