"Love love this step app. I've tried a couple others and read the reviews for STEPZ......decided to try "just 1 more". It's the best one I've tried! Love the calorie counting on this one too. Even the health one that comes with the iPhone doesn't compare to this one. Thank you!" (Nov 2017)

Absolutely Hate New Design. This app used to be great. It was easily 4-5 stars. Then they changed the interface a few months ago and now it’s horrible. 1) Before, you could see your goal AND number of EXACT steps achieved for the day on one screen. Now you have to look at 2 screens for the same info. 2) You use to get the EXACT steps achieved above the graphics so you could tell at a glance what you did different days of the week. Now you have to tap on each bar to see that # at the top for a single day. You have to tap each bar to get the steps for that day. 3) There is a pop-ad EVERY TIME you touch the screen for whatever reason. I get you need to make money, but REALLY??? 4) You used to see the entire last 7 days by default. Now you have to scroll in order to see that ... along with another ad pop-up. 5) The washed out colors are horrible. The vibrant ones were much more pleasing to the eye. I’m so disgusted, it’s getting deleted after happily using it several years.

Poor quality control, unaddressed flaws. This app has a good basic design but its primary flaws haven't been addressed after years of weekly app updates. There's no dark mode long after most apps have added one. There are no options for modern control center or lock screen widgets. The number of steps is always higher than the amount displayed by Apple's own Health app or most other step counter apps. The app doesn't reset for the current day and shows inaccurate totals for every category, requiring me to force quit the app and relaunch it almost every morning. As I write this I can't actually use the app after the latest update because it shows "Please wait while we finish importing your history" and a progress bar that never ends. This happens at least once a week. Waiting five minutes and force quitting the app doesn't help. Deleting and reinstalling it hasn't helped either.

Annoying and inaccurate. I used this app for quite some time, and liked it. Then suddenly I started getting ads that popped up so fast I couldn’t push the H first even if I was poised and ready. I usually have to press the x on the as 3-5 times to get it to close. Yesterday I got a new phone and when the ads open they start playing a video with loud audio, even if my phone volume was set low. I can’t stop them without exiting and clearing the app. I’ve been climbing stairs a lot, and it doesn’t show. Last week one day I went up and down a staircase 15 times. A half hour later when I looked at the app, it said I had climbed 2 that day. I know I had more than that in my house. Needless to say, I will delete this app. I wrote a complaint not too long ago, but never heard a solution and as of yesterday it is worse than before. Bye-bye!

Favorite so far. I wanted a simple app that tracked my steps, that was really all I wanted. I found that most of the apps are way more complicated than they needed to be and I found myself saying “I don’t have time for all of this.....” Stepz is exactly what I was looking for. It tracks my Stepz and it’s a very simple layout , I don’t find myself searching on the screen for “steps” or “tracker”..... the information is there and and there isn’t unnecessary complications involved that get me more frustrated than anything ...... so with no issues and the fact that I am satisfied with the content , I have no reason to go looking any further .... it’s perfect for me

Was a nice app.. I’ve used Stepz for about three years and found it useful and it became part of my daily routine. Then it was “upgraded” - and RUINED. I don’t know what to believe. I’m on an extended vacation so I can’t compare to my usual routes but in my limited testing the upgrade is broken. Using this mornings walk if the number of steps recorded is correct (6590) my normal 27” step shows as 6.6K and 2.3 miles. If converted, via simple math, 6.6K would be 4.1 miles. Conversely the 2.3 miles would be 3.7K. Those comparisons just plain don’t agree. On or both are wrong. Further, assuming the number of steps is correct, that would have been 2.8 miles with my length of step. What is a user to believe. Come on, this only requires simple math. I am being generous giving this one star. I must now go look for an app that works better than this.

I’m hooked!. I’m an old timer who didn’t get my first smart phone until 2017. I downloaded this app soon after because I walk everywhere I go and didn’t know Apple health tracked my steps. I’m glad I was ignorant because I really like this app. Although health has some useful info, this is my go to. A favorite feature is the color bars on each hour, which brings me to my suggestion for an improvement. It took me awhile to figure out that I’d get the green after I did 1/24th of my goal total. It seems it would make more sense if it was 1/16th instead of 1/24th, since we can’t earn steps while we’re sleeping. It would be great if that were an option. Thanks

Great job!. Since I started using your app I’ve lost the weight I was trying too lose. I was at almost 200 pounds and I set my mind too get down too my BMI of 165. I accomplished that goal in April when my doctor saw I was at 160. I told him I wanted too get now too 145 and he said no. He told me I was at my ideal weight. I still watch how many steps I walk every day with your app and at least I know I can keep track as too maintain a somewhat consistent schedule even though I still want too lose more weight. I like too challenge myself too walk those extra steps. I look at the app everyday and try too set goals too beat my previous steps from the day before. Now that I’m at my ideal weight at least I know I can stay persistent by keeping track of how many miles I’ve walked in one days time by looking at the app. Each day, marks a new beginning, a new challenge of trying too always do better too stay healthy. Don’t ever give up having this app. I don’t want too be buying a pedometer too wear on my belt.

Time zone issues. The most current update has been a disappointment (I gave 5 stars to the previous version). Inaccuracy is a major concern - for example: traveling to the east coast, where it is 2 hours later than where I live, the app will duplicate the steps I had in the original time zone (thereby doubling my steps)but parking them 2 hours later. Example, if I had walked 3450 steps at 1:00 pm in Colorado, and then flew to New Hampshire where it’s two hours later - the app would then duplicate my 3450 steps at 3:00. This happens consistently wherever I travel. Local issues abound as well. Unexplained increases in my daily steps will happen in clusters - where I have walked 7k on Tuesday, 6k on Wednesday, and 8k on Thursday - but two days later all three of those totals suddenly are well above 10k each.

Not worth $155/year!!. My sister told me about this app last year-she was over the moon about it so I got it also. I went with this one over “Pedometer” because the display/interface was better. I’ve loved this app/5 stars...until this”update”! Now...2 or 3 stars! $155/year? You have GOT to be kidding me?! It’s now like Pedometer only EXPENSIVE! The interface is less user friendly & more cumbersome than before, the badge icon is only available if I “purchase” the app and I’ve lost my data from before May 15, 2018! Somehow I’ve also lost my data in the Apple Health app from before that same date!! I’ve had this phone/an iPhone for at least 7+ years & all my Health data uploaded to the Stepz app when I got it last year. I’ll probably be going to a different app! A real shame. Developer: yes, I know this feedback is “precious” to you. If your customers were precious you wouldn’t have gone in this direction. I do not understand some perceptions of “progress”! I say “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” Bring back the “old” version, please?! I think many Stepz users are feeling the same. My sister is furious and very disappointed!

Works without thinking about it. Four stars! (Five is reserved for the app which predicts the winning lottery number.) Following a recent heart attack I now monitor a number of health-related metrics routinely: weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, percent oxygen saturation, heart rate, EKG, … in addition to nutrition information. I wear my Apple Watch pretty much non-stop, except when charging. I don’t consciously keep track of my activity. I like that the watch app detects and asks whether I want to record activity as an outdoor walk, which often it is. Later, the data collected syncs with my phone and is aggregated with the other health data that I consciously track, for subsequent analysis.

App Performance. Overall the app is great; however, from time to time it will lose a day of data. Powering the iPhone off devv and on normally works - not this time h. I cannot get the 20k+ steps walked last Friday. 12/27. How can I get that fixed in order to have accurate data? Thanks. Today is Jan 9th and have noticed that once again have lost the previous 5 days of data. Power f in and off did not work. Very frustrating. Have deleted the app whichi was I means all of my past 4 years kicks by by TVof data is gone. I used to love this app. Can you fix the bugs or what ever is causing the data to disappear? Lost 4 more days of dada in May. Powering the phone off and on does not always work. Still am missing about 5 days worth of steps. Very aggregating.

Deleting this app. Why are you forcing me to pay weekly for something I’ve already paid for once? This app used to be amazing and now I’m going to have to delete it. I refuse to pay $3 a WEEK for something my phone, and countless other apps would do for free! On top of that, I emailed you guys three times about not being able to recover my initial account and you NEVER RESPONDED. Thank goodness for my password book because i never would’ve recovered my account. And now that I’ve recovered my account, you don’t even offer the option to DELETE IT!!! so my information will just be sitting out in space for God knows how long. I wish i never downloaded this thing. Im definitely deleting it and removing it from my phone today. You should at least offer a basic option and then move up to premium for those who can afford it, but instead you want to FORCE all of us to pay for it. That’s greed.

Inconvenient at its Best!!. I used to love this Stepz app until I was unable to check my mileage and other factors because of annoying ads that were impossible to X out and rendered this app useless in real time! I understand the necessity of advertising to support your business model however allowing this intentional ridiculous design to impede the purpose of this app in order to encourage paid subscriptions is extremely upsetting and I would never respond to any of those ads on general principle alone. If your purpose is to annoy your users by posting ridiculous ads that aren’t even appealing or relevant you’ve accomplished your goal. I think that you personally would feel the same way if you were out walking and couldn’t utilize this app which used to be much more user friendly. Something to consider.

High motivation tool. I ‘m a 71 year old woman who has two bad knees and who finds it difficult to walk. I was also fearful of walking outside and roaming too far from my home. I recently started using the step tracker and have found it to be a wonderful motivational tool. I started by walking around the inside of my house before I ventured outside, but to my surprise, I’m almost up to walking 3 miles theses days. Now instead of obsessing about eating junk food in the evening, I obsess about making or exceeding my steps each day. I love the app and check it numerous times during the day. I highly recommend it to everyone but especially to older adults who need motivation to move more.

Starting to use this again. Hey, Even though I stopped counting my steps, my app didn’t! So when I cracked 2500 steps today, I was able to look back and see that the last time I did that was Feb 23rd. The app is also able to encourage me by showing me my long term achievements. I’ve had it about 5 years (and MyStep before then) so it shows me that I’ve walked over 1m steps in total, had the rare 10,000 step day, and walked the entire coastline of Ireland. It also tells me I’d better remember my phone the next time I go on a walk (not always a given!) There are just a few drawbacks with this app. My biggest (okay, only) critique is that the navigation doesn’t make sense to me and it’s not easy to change my goal. Even though I’ve had it for so long, I still have to click several times to get to a place where it will change. Although that could be a connection issue? In which case I wish it would change right away and then update when there is connection. Either way, I can’t figure out how to change my goal today. But overall, great app.

Questioning the workability of this app. I just got a new Apple Watch 6 and I had Stepz on my phone. So I was excited to try walking with my watch on. I walked about 1000 steps— my results are zero on my watch. I walked a little more, it still says zero. I go back to my apartment where my phone is, and I open the app. It now says that I walked so many steps. I look at my watch and all of a sudden all the steps show up. Do I have to carry my phone with me and use the app on the phone in order to look at the steps I have walked? It kind of ruins the use of the watch as a pedometer and phone if you have to carry the phone everywhere with you while wearing the watch. Can you not get an immediate reading on the watch?

More help than I thought it would be.. I really really love your app it helps me to know how many steps I’ve taken and the doctor likes to make sure I get at least 10,000 steps a day. Now for weight loss I am right now going for 15,000 steps a day. This app tells me how close I am getting or if I’m getting there or not, but I’m not gonna reset my goal for 15,000 steps a day, I’ll leave it at 10,000 steps a day, because that’s what the doctor requires. I am 67 years old with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Over the past (3) years since I started walking my lungs have gotten about 9% improvement overall. Better than the Dr. and myself thought it would be, and I can breathe much easier. For this I thank you very much for your app.

Annoying ad machine that sorta counts your steps. “If it’s not broken - break it!” is the motto of one of the developers who is part of the team now in charge of Stepz, and it’s exactly what they have done with what used to be a favorite app. You are constantly bombarded with loud and intrusive ads that make using Stepz a nightmare. You get those more or less every time you switch to the app. It’s very careless to have that on an app that people use when they are physically active. It’s not just annoying and frustrating, it’s also distracting and can be a safety hazard, showing a high degree of disregard for the users from the developers. Apparently the permanent ad bar on the Stepz screen was not enough for them. What you get for all this is a very questionable aesthetics update and lots of distinction which the pre-2019 version didn’t have - your monthly, yearly, etc, totals are always miscounted after midnight. To fix it you must 1) open the app 2) force close the app 3) reopen the app (yay, ads); if you ever travel to a different time zone all your data gets totally corrupted and you have to download it from....the free in-built step counter that comes with your phone! Each and every time! And one wonders why they demand those outrageous prices for “the full experience”. All of this has been the same for quite some time now, so obviously the developer does not care for us, users of Stepz.

Good app. Ads are a hindrance. I’ve used the app for years and does what it is supposed to do. 5 stars for that. I used to be annoyed by complaints from users about advertisements in an app when they were getting an app for free, but you’ve taken annoying ads up a notch. They pop up on every screen or touch and actually stop what you are doing. Annoying is one thing, but hindrance reduces functionality. Some ads have a large no thanks button at the bottom to clear the screen and get back to what you were looking at, but most have a tiny x tucked in the upper left corner of the screen which takes multiple attempts to properly detect I am pressing it (yes, most likely my phone case in the way and fat thumbs). Reduced rating simply for this reason

New phone. I have been using stepz for a while now. I recently upgraded my phone. I reinstalled the stepz app to find no sign in option. Or maybe I overlooked it. Idk. Went threw the steps to get to a part that says I have to pay. What!!! I just want to sign in get my progress from my old phone and be done. Using this app was helpful in tracking my progress daily. But I guess that instead of using this app I’m gonna move on to another. Sometimes things are better left unchanged. Why can’t things be easy. 😩 The only reason I’m giving you 4⭐️ is because of how useful this app use to be. Now it’s a 1 ⭐️ nobody wants to pay for something they’ve been getting for free. Plus the issues stated above. So bye bye stepz.

Great little app. I’ve been using this step counter app for a year and a half. I got it to help build my stamina and motivation during a campaign to improve my health (and my dog’s). It helped me go from a slow, reluctant drag around the block to multiple avid daily walks, from one block to five miles. I even hit several seven mile days! I lost twenty pounds , and the dog lost a few too. One month ago I received a total knee replacement. The strength and muscles I gained using this app allowed me to face rehabilitation with determination and quick recovery. If you couple this app with a good dog and an audio book you will be on track to develop a fitness routine that will improve your life.

Pretty Good. It keeps track of my steps. The new updates is nice. I like it when companies update and freshen up the UI. This app has bugs though. Sometimes the colors are wrong. If I reach my daily goal, sometimes the goal bar will still be orange or even red. I have to shutdown the app and restart it to get it correct. Another even worse bug is when traveling across time zones, such as in a flight from one end of the country to another. On these days of travel, I will get doubled entries on the time graph, and my daily step count is doubled - so strange. On a recent trip, it doubled my step going out, and on the day of my trip back, the steps were doubled again. And now those bogus days with the doubled steps are forever in the history.

Stepz keeps me moving!. I love how Stepz keeps me moving. I can see how far I need to go to reach my daily goal of 10,000 steps. It keeps a record of weekly, monthly and yearly steps too so I can see my track record and compare activity levels. The only drawbacks are the ads, which can be hard to click out of, and that you always have to keep your phone with you so that it adds up your steps accurately. These are minor issues that don’t bother me since I always have my phone on me anyway. As a senior citizen, I love that it’s free and is a helpful tool in my quest to stay active and healthy in my golden years. I used to have a Fitbit until it died. I don’t need it anymore. This app does the job!

Latest update ruined it. I’ve used the paid version for years. It just did what it was supposed to do. The latest version made the usability worse, but most significantly it also now sometimes shows zero steps for some days. I haven’t figured out the pattern for it. But I disliked the interface changes enough that I installed a couple more pedometer apps, and they don’t have this issue. The worst part is that I don’t like these other apps as much as the old version of Stepz. I don’t need confetti animations, or my step progress visualized as liquid sloshing in a round tank. (Is liquid height still linear with progress?) So now I’m left with the health app. Which is functional, but isn’t as simple and focused as a dedicated pedometer. The step count as the round notification badge was a great feature. Update: deleted stepz. And no, I don’t want to email you at bendingspoons so you can personally respond with boilerplate explanation of why I should pay $150/year for a step counter, which the health app provides for free. I’m a software developer, and I always buy the paid version of an app. But I’ll never pay a recurring rental fee. Not for photoshop, and certainly not for stepz. And stepz wants to charge MORE than adobe does for photoshop + Lightroom. Madness!

No longer counts steps. This used to be my go-to step counter app but a recent update (as others have pointed out) has made the app unwieldy, more difficult to use (more scrolling instead of all on one screen) and today 1.2 miles in to my walk - the app told me I had take 250 steps. Fortunately I had another exercise app installed that gave me an accurate count of 1.2 miles not .01 miles. A very big difference. In closing, this app no longer counts steps. The developers updated this into irrelevance & missed major bugs that defeat the very purpose of this app. Very poor & very inconsiderate to users. One can only guess how poor the update testing was. Turning to other apps. I suggest those reading this do the same. I see the developers to their credit are answering the many new negative reviews. To them I can only say do not forget the whole point of your app which is to count steps.

Love this app!!. I absolutely love this app!! I was given an Apple Watch series 3 for Christmas 2017, and I use the Stepz app everyday. It is extremely accurate & I enjoy the reminders & encouragement this app gives throughout the day to help me meet my daily fitness goals. This app is very easy to use and I love the graphs & different colors that make it easy to see my weekly & monthly progress. The integration with the Apple Health app is also a nice touch and makes it easy for me to share my progress with my friends & family who are keeping me accountable for my fitness goals. And you can’t beat the price...FREE!!...and there are no annoying advertisements either. I highly recommend this app as a necessity for anyone who wants an accurate record of their daily “Stepz” and fitness goals😀

Good app. This app challenged me to walk more. It is a simple yet powerful app. The best feature is the automatic goal setting. If you don't take 10,000 steps a day, this setting will ease you into that goal and encourage to to go beyond. However, I have a complaint. I encouraged my husband to get this app. Instead of being able to buy the app there is now a subscription! And what a rate! Really? So many apps developers have become greedy. This app is great but I’m not sure it’s worth such a rate and with the black cloud of a recession or worse looming over our country there will be many that won’t be able to afford it. In addition to that, the ads are so in your face the app is not worth having without the subscription. The app itself is worth 5+ stars but because of the high subscription rate and the in-your-face ads, I have dropped the rating down to 2 stars.

Good for the soul.. At the present I’m fare from my goal. Using STEPZ I’m sure without a doubt I will get back to my walking three miles a day. I had pneumonia and I’m recovering and that takes a lot out of you. But! I am not going to let that stop me from getting back to my 3 mile day walk. I am so happy to discover STEPZ. By the way, I’m 80 yrs. young. People always think I’m in my 50,s...60’s...I have been weight 🏋️‍♀️lifting Most of my life. After having pneumonia I have been able to do very little but now I am getting back into it and like I said, using STEPZ on my iPhone is a real encouragement to help me get this body back in shape. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

Now WORST. APP. EVER!!!. I would give this ZERO - 0 - stars if possible. This was once one of my favorite apps for counting steps and monitoring physical activity. Recent ‘updates’ and so-called ‘improvements’ have now made it one of my most hated. Deleting as soon as this review completed. We all understand App development and maintenance is a business and needs to be profitable. BUT... the number of ads, games, videos and pictures (some of which are offensive in both content and noise level) is utterly ridiculous. And your supposed subscription ‘fee’ is absurd. Even though I could afford it, I would never purchase it as you have completely violated my confidence in the quality aspects of your product. You will soon (if not already) be amongst the many failed companies who have taken a great program and trashed it. Another one bites the dust. :-(

Thumbs Down. Not happy with the new app. Do not like the fact you can no longer set the step length. I spent time fine tuning the old step length such that in a 4 mile walk I had my number of steps within 50-75 steps of the actual total. In addition in a four day span the number of steps recorded are bogus. One day showed Zero steps although I walked over 5 miles. The other days on either side only recorded 3200 and 3300 steps when again I walked over 5 miles each day. My step count should be 2000 steps per mile. With this new App I just walked the same 4 miles I have been walking for 3 years, the previous App recorded 8000 +/- steps and 4 miles. The new app recorded 8960 steps and 3.5 miles. Not even close! Not accurate at all.

Not good graphics. I have been using Stepz for four years and enjoy it very much. However lately it is not been able to show the steps that I’ve taken in grout form. The newer versions do not seem to work on my iPhone 6s. Updates in the program should still allow it to function the way it did originally, but that is not the case. I guess the updated versions do not work on older iPhone software. However I like the graphics that they use. The software says I need to enable the health app and I have enabled it but it does not seem to recognize the command so I’m going to have to look to buying another car application rather than Stepz. Sorry.

Good Tech . . .. The ability of this step app to record steps, distance, and calories burned is impressive. Daily accrual of distance soon paints a picture of walking/hiking habits and can work as incentive to increase frequency and intensity of efforts. The UI is frustrating occasionally when you go to check status or progress on an effort and somehow you’ve changed to some accrued miles—over days, months, or year—mode. I still dont know how to change back to daily mode, which is frustrating. Default mode Return should be the most prominent button/toggle.

Something is very wrong.. I have just downloaded the new Stepz app and the interface is much easier to use and more intuitive. There is a significant problem in how it imports your old steps data, though. All of my previous numbers are vastly inflated. For example, yesterday, with the old interface, the data showed that I walked 3.7 million steps last year. Now it shows that I walked 5.9 million steps. Every single day shows a massive increase in the number of steps over what I actually walked. Before you upgrade to this app, be sure to save your old Stepz data. I am not sure how it can be re-integrated into the current app, but people need to be aware of this problem.

Not happy with the new app. I liked the other way much better cause when it opens you see the steps, miles and calories then see the other when you want but this new one doesn’t always open on the first touch if it does it blinks off again. I have over 13 million steps and many times have went over 30,000 steps in a day also new colors and no explanation as to what they mean. I will continue using the app but change isn’t always good for everyone more for the few. Thanks. Also I absolutely hate the pop up adds that come on now also don’t think anyone actually reads this but what the hell at least I am venting and it releases my stress

Stepz you can count on. Love my Fitbit surge but too many bracelets on my arms. I have a Apple Watch and want to move away from the Surge. I have been looking for apps that provide me with the info I need. Stepz provide me with the info I want. Uses Health Apple app for syncing steps to the app. It has various info you can display about your stepz, how many more steps to meet your goal, calories burned, average steps over time. Long story short get this application if you want to count your steps then this is the one. One option is to see your steps without opening the app, shows steps much like unopened mail on the top right of the application icon. You can also use the watch dock so you can have your steps easily seen. Update: nice if Apple Watch could show your Stepz progress on the face of the watch.

I liked it until the last update. I downloaded this app during the summer and checked it every day through fall and winter. Overall, i find it really encouraging to know that i walked 4 or 5 miles on days when i haven’t taken time to “work out” but I’ve been busy/on my feet throughout the day. Having the data also gives me an incentive to walk at least as much as I did on other days within the last week. But I just deleted the app last night because the last update screwed up my data. On Friday I had more than 10K steps, and on Saturday I barely had any because my phone battery was dead most of the day. after the update it showed Wednesday as having more than 12K steps but barely any for Thursday Friday or Saturday, like the one really low day was stretched out to three. I’m also skeptical about the accuracy because there have been times that i was sitting on the bus or subway for a while, and the step counter went up before I stood up. I’m not sure if I’ll download the same app to see if that fixes it or just try a different app.

Now with a $2.99 per WEEK subscription!. Wow, at $12 per month for a step counter this new version’s premium features should be life changing. Nope, unless you consider that many people will be switching to another step counter. I originally used this app for its simplicity and clean design, and a local only step counter without all of the extra social and awards crap, but that has changed. I can’t imagine anyone paying $2.99 a week to add an icon badge and remove Advertisements for any App that is mostly a UI for the builtin step counter. “We currently offer the following auto-renewing subscription option: 1 week of free trial followed by $2.99 per week. By subscribing, you get unlimited access to all our premium features (historical data, advanced stats, widget, achievements, icon badge) and you will have a fully ad-free experience.”

Useful if You are not too particular about data. Stepz Is quite helpful as a motivational tool to move more. I particularly like that not only does it count steps but it counts how much of your day you are active. It’s not great that it overestimates one’s mileage by 20 to 25%, but it still useful as a relative comparison to what one has done before. My main problem with it is that it cannot distinguish between my physical movement and when I am driving my bobcat on my farm or using mass transit systems like the Paris metro, New York subway, or London underground. This problem really skews the validity of the data and ones over all records.u

Ver Good But It Could Be Great. Use this every day to track my steps, I think it’s basically accurate and the display is nice 2 frustrations. One, traveling across time zones completely screws it up, for some reason it ends up significantly inflating the steps on every day I’m gone. This problem did not exist until the last update. Two, this could be so much better with better fun features, ie if it rewarded streaks of hitting your goal or tracked the date and number of times you hit a particular big day line 25,000 or enabled you to compete with other anonymous users in your area.

One of my all time favorites. I love this app. It keeps me on track to achieve my daily walking goals. If I get to the end of the day and I’m short of my goal, I’m highly motivated to get in the remainder of my steps. I find it to be accurate and the color coding makes it easy to tell where I am in reaching my goal even if I’m not wearing my reading glasses. And I appreciate the fact that I can look at daily, monthly and yearly cumulative steps. I like setting new and higher goals and sharing my progress with other walkers in my family. I have a fit bit but I find that I don’t like it as much as this app. And don’t use the fit bit nearly as much as I use thus app. I never leave to go walking without it. Thanks so much for designing this app.

My tracking. Actually I didn’t realize that my wife had put Stepz on my phone until one day I was strolling through it and saw the icon. I clicked on it and saw that it had been keeping up a log on me. Every since that moment I have been motivated to challenge myself to do more. I truly love this app. Dr. M Michael B McGuire a loyal user of Stepz Since I’m using Stepz now I’m more motivated to do more walking. I’m an 100% Disabled Vetnam Veteran and a few years ago I couldn’t even walk. Now I’m able too walk I’ve been loosing weight. I was 376 pounds now I am 298. Stepz is motivation for me to reach my goal of 200 pounds. Everyone needs the Stepz App . Dr. M Michael B McGuire a loyal user of Stepz

Simple, accurate. What more could you want? *** Update to the Update: I decided the benefits outweigh the downsides. I now have a premium (no ad) account and am back to loving it. The cost isn’t bad, but the need for it is irritating. *Update: I’ve had to lower my rating. Ever since the ads started, they completely take over and make it almost impossible to actually get to the actual app. The ads even have fake closing X that take you to the apps website so you have to go through the whole process again. It’s too bad, because this was a nice, simple, app to keep track of steps.

Excellent app. For steps counted. I find Stepz to be excellent for counting the number of steps I walk each 24 hours. I love being able to see several days at a glance and a complete history whenever you want can be looked at. There are other functions that I don't use as much but I got this app to primarily count my daily steps. I wish I could say that it is accurate in converting steps to miles or Kilometers but I am not sure it is any more or less accurate than any of the apps for that. I love the interface and this is my app of choice.

Flakey app, intrusive ads. Update (after 1 year’s use): The ads are intrusive—full-screen with blaring sound and no way to set default to silent. The ad screen stays open after timed animation and is difficult to close w/o inadvertently being pushed to websites or app store. —Therefore I no longer look at app during my walks—I ask my walking buddy for her step count instead. Too bad. I’ve also noticed flakey app behavior—periodic disappearance of my step goal or failure to register a day’s steps; sometimes counting one day’s steps as 2 days. Disappointing. I like the app’s features (see first review below), but I now avoid looking at app except once at end of day. I used to look at small ads on app dashboard; now they disrupt app use so much that I use the app much less. ———- Earlier review: I’ve used the free app for 4 months as a pedometer. I like the easy-to-read display of current & recent days’ activity, esp the weekly average. I am a light user and can’t justify spending $50+ a year for a subscription (that price is just under a low-end fitbit with accompanying app). After a recent update, full-screen ads regularly pop up during app use—one had sound that I couldn’t lower, which was really aggravating. I didn’t mind in-screen ads, which I sometimes find relevant, but the new full-screen ones are so disruptive.

Once the best… now not so much. I have used this app for about 6 years. It was the absolute best. I refreshed it lately and discovered the ads…. I get it, you want to get paid for a great app, but full page ads??!!? The app also takes longer to load and the location of the onscreen ads is not ideal. I looked at the premium price, and thats where you really lose your stars. $3.99 / week??? I would happily pay a one time charge of $10 for this app. Had I been subscribed for the 6 years I used it, I would have paid over $1,200 for this app. Thank you for 6 years of the best step counter ever, but now I need to go look for another one…. If you ever switch to a 1 time fee model without add I’ll come back.

New features and excessive ads ruined this Stepz. Stepz has more ads than any other app I have ever used. The cost to stop the ads is ridiculous especially for an app that took a giant step backwards with its “improvements.” Color scheme and readability due to the washed-out colors is terrible. Over-all display of data including every facet of miles/steps data displays are now awful. Ads pop up at almost every touch of the screen and are very difficult to close. Video ads, that are way too loud and are just plain obnoxious constantly pop up as well. I realize there will be a, “we’re sorry you’re not enjoying our app and here are the reasons why you should be” response to my critique but it just doesn’t cut it. I’ve read all the reviews which are dead-on and the responses which are weak. If you don’t have this app, don’t waste your time getting it. The frustration level it creates just isn’t worth it. I gave it try after try with all the downgrading it’s gone through and now I’m done. There is no redeeming value for using Stepz at this point and without a major overhaul it will end up in the pile of once good apps turned bad that no one uses anymore!

Ruined App - Don’t Download. This is actually an updated review from one I gave a few weeks ago. I was complaining about the bugs in the app with incorrect data and a few other items. After leaving the review I noticed a follow up from one of the developers saying they had had an update that fixed a lot of the bugs so I thought I’d try updating it and see if it fixed any of them. So I deleted the app and reinstalled it (why it didn’t automatically update like the rest of my apps, and yes it’s on auto update, is a good question but one I’ll leave for later). So, after running the new app the developer was correct, those bugs are fixed. BUT, now there are so many ads that pop up it’s basically unusable! I just left it the app when an ad came up where there was no way to get out of it! Seriously! They had a really nice little app that they have screwed up so bad it’s unusable. Sad. So DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS APP. GO FIND A BETTER ONE. -Rob

“upgrade” ruined an enjoyable app. I used Stepz every day for about three years and enjoyed it. The upgrade ruined my experience and has made me seek a different app for counting steps. I understand that I may need to look at ads if I want to use the free version, but I am not willing to tolerate gambling ads that play with no way to exit them. Banner ads OK. Video ads or gameplay ads that play over and over again and can’t be exited without exiting the app? Nope. Plus the app stopped counting my steps accurately. Whole days were missed. This is not acceptable and so I’m going to move onto a different app. unfortunately there is no way to export my data from Stepz so that is three years of walking 10,000 steps a day that is lost from my step counting history. If the subscription fee had been more reasonable, I would have subscribed and paid for the app. But the subscription fee is far too high for me to consider.

Why I deleted your app. For a number of years now I have been using this app I absolutely loved it I kept track of my miles daily, weekly and yearly. Since March 2015 I have walked over 6015 miles keeping track using your app. With the new update it lost almost 1000 miles of my walking, your screens became very confusing as to what I was looking for and displaying information properly. The fact that the only way to get this app to properly run is to sign up for a temporary free trial and then it goes to $2.99 per week. It is now been deleted from my phone and I’ll just have to find something that works as well if not better than stepz. Very disappointed in the changes that were made to the application. I wish you all well, thank you very much for a good product in the past.

I PAY for this app, yet I still get ads when I open the app! Canceling!. Isn’t the whole point of paying for an application so that you don’t have to deal with annoying and unwanted ads every time you open the application? I never had ads on this app before, yet all the sudden I’m getting bombarded with them every time I open the app now! I will be canceling! My subscription is still in tact so I’m not getting ads due to non payment. I refuse to pay to use an app only to have ads & commercials shoved down my throat…no thank you! I just want to open the app and see how many steps I have really quick, instead of having to patiently wait for these stupid commercials to play out! I can use a free app if I want ads, and save my money! Do not pay for this app unless you love paying money only to see the same repetitive ads. Smh

Works as promised. June 2019. Used to be good, latest upgrade seems to have ruined it. Takes FOREVER to load, keeps wanting to import data so instead of getting an instant result I have to stand around for a minute or more to see how far I’ve been walking. I’ve also realised I can no longer set my stride, so the steps total doesn’t reflect the actual distance I’ve walked. Why can’t developers just LEAVE THINGS ALONE when the app is working fine. If they don’t fix things next upgrade, I’m deleting Stepz.

Colin MacGraw. Excellent. Love using it. Find it much more reliable and stable compared to other devices on the market. I continue to use it with great success . Its currently helping me lose weight .

Easy and friendly. Never a problem. Virtually set and forget and it is always there when desired.

Amazing. A must have app. No more driving when I can walk. Always striving to reach my next goal. This is a fun and useful app. I would not be without it. It is keeping me fit and saving me on fuel costs. Highly recommend this app but it would be good if you remove the weekly average out of the top right hand corner it is annoying and could be hidden somewhere It detracts from the beauty of the app

Great app. Love this app as it helps me to know how I’m doing with exercise. I have a disability and can’t walk far so this apps makes me Walk a little further during the day than I usually do.

I. Love. This. App!!. Fantastic tool that helps you think about activity level. Please, please, please add a note option on days so we can note what the circumstances were that influenced the outcome.

No Longer Usable. Used this apps happily for years . Unfortunately it has become a chore to use , the continual bombardment of game advertisements that you can’t switch off is hopeless & insulting to the user . Be warned if thinking of downloading this app they have taken this to a whole new level , making it unpleasant to try to use . In a marketplace full of competitors I am hopeful of finding a usable alternative .

Lowkey a scam. There was absolutely no way for me to use the app without signing up for a free trial, which would automatically charge me $2.99 weekly if I didn’t cancel it before the week was up. Checked my bank account and I was charged $1.49 for a “free trial + 1 week”. Sorry, no, I signed up for a free trial, not a free trial plus a week. Nothing on the app said that I would be getting charged today. Nothing on the app said I would be getting charged before my free trial had ended. What a bunch of dodgy tuesdays.

No Longer Worth Using. My walking group of 20 people had used the Stepz App for over 3 years but it’s simply not worth using anymore because the latest update bombards the dashboard with continual advertisements making it a complete waste of time. It’s just another case of corporate greed trying to force people towards paid versions of their Apps. The developers of Stepz once had a good product but have shot themselves in the foot - they just lost 20 users in our group and I expect there will be many more to follow us.

Very encouraging and .. I love it. Thanks I am 83years old. I’ve been doing it for years, maybe a bit slower, It encourages me to reach my goal not that I always do but thanks to your people. It keeps me going. 👍👍

Definitely would recommend. Awesome app and really useful. Would really recommend for anyone wanting to know about their daily record.

Slouch, couch grouch!. With L4/L5,L5/S1,S1/S2 & S2/S3 wasted; my back is pretty much history. However, lounging around in bed or the couch all day, has lead to some severe muscle atrophication. I need to build it up, with regular exercise/walking. This app is the duck’s guts, PROVIDED your phone is switched on. Otherwise it won’t record Jack. Also it won’t allow targets less than 3,000steps to be set. I’m lucky to get that distance in three days. Great app, minor quirks. Fix ‘em and it’ll be FANTASTIC!

Good but get rid of audio adds. The app is really good and appreciate the work you put into it we can put up with the visual adds but as soon audio adds come on we switch it off and start using the Apple app

Love it. Accurate.... and I know this because I checked it with Google maps. Excellent amount of data to check my progress as well.

I love this app. Have been using the app for 5 years and get great satisfaction and motivation from it. Being a guy my phone stays in my pocket so I get full advantage. Only negative is when we go overseas the app gets a little crazy but simply fixed by reimporting from the I phone health data.

Improve speed with last update generally a great App. A good App can recommend it, however the cost of the new version is ridiculous, I would not get it now. My wife would like to update to the nw version but monthly fees is ridiculously tooo expensive. A once a lifetime cost is much more reasonable there are other apps that do the same and are as good and are free.

Great app for anyone walking. This app is really good for giving you stats without you having to think about it. Good for motivation as well

❤️ it. Great app works well You can import your stats from your phone as the newer phones have this health app that I didn't know that I had was a nice surprise to have these stats highly recommended If you carry your phone in your hand or bag it still works. Great app.

Stepz. Great for keeping track of your activity through each week

Accuracy and easy Stepzez. Excellent Ap I check several times to see how far from my goal during day. Very accurate as well as I check how much distance walked versus record. Have got it loaded both on Phone and watch

An upgrade not necessary. Since the new version, this app has become more troublesome. They have removed app icon which could tell your steps without opening it but now only in paid version. Several crashes. Previous version was better.

Listened to your users. Congratulations on stopping those loud ads when you first open the app. You have gone from no stars to 5 stars.

This app is great. 🤙🚶‍♀️. Does exactly what it proclaims. Allows for me to keep an eye on the family steps, as well as myself. Only thing I would also like is for the automatic step target to be able to calculate over 10,000, as many of my friends, including myself walk double this a day. Would be great if it could keep pushing the limits. Maybe next update, please. 👏🙏

Michelle. Great backup to track progress. Also history facility is informative and motivational. Thanks for your expertise and talents made available to help us all live a little better and longer. God bless Have a beautiful day Jesus loves you ❤️

New Updated Stepz. The original version was solid and appeared accurate and enjoyed the simple clear presentation of info. The new version is unreliable in its recording some days simply not recording anything others approx half the actual activity. If it was still reliable which it no longer is the info presentation has now been developed to be a bit too tricky for what it is- also now plagued with ads which is very unappealing for an app which is so personal....so in short a great idea that has fallen prey to overdevelopment and commercialisation - a pity as will now be looking at alternatives!

A definite advantage. I love this app. I use it all the time and think it’s terrific because you don’t need to turn it on - it’s always running in the background.

One of the best app step counter. Best app using from last 3 years and amazing dashboard. It has Nice dashboard, graphs lots of other stuff. Best display. Best app till now on iphone.

Good app ruined. This was a very good free app with the occasional ads to keep it free then it changed the you hit bombarded with loud game ads with very slow faded x that make it hard to clear. I understand the need to sell’s ads but it is no good if your customer base decreases which looking at many similar reviews no doubt would have seen customers reduce, have your ads to keep it free but be sensible and sensitive to customers

User friendly. Love this app. It is so easy to set up your information and choose a goal. Easy to see progress and seems accurate.

A nice little app. Gives you a good idea of where your targets should be step wise, and useful for those with a specific target for fitness.

App is great again. I gave the app a low rating some time back when they took away the option to set your own stride length. I’m glad to see that problem has been fixed and the app is at easy five stars. Thank you!

Main Stepz Problem. Useless app! Shortly after installing Stepz, it shows unlimited ads & will not allow you to see your steps. The only way to get out of ad after ad after ad..is to shut the app down. Sometimes it has taken me over 30 attempts before it even ‘ALLOWS’ you to close the ad & see your steps! 😫

Stepzf. I use Stepz almost every day to check my progress with my walking goals. I find it very useful and now I could not do with out it. I y

Happy enough!. Does exactly what I need it to do! Have enjoyed being able to track just how many steps I take in a day, such a small thing is taken for granted!

Too many ADs. Too many ads make this app painful… you click to get out of the AD and another AD pops up and you have to wait 30secs but when you click out of it another one pops up… and you have to wait another 30secs … and repeat…once you get into the app it is ok … just painful getting past the AD loops

App OK but Ads annoying. The app itself works fine, and I realise ads are necessary for the app to remain free. However, to force users to watch and listen to a gambling ad for some time before allowing a user to shut it down is very annoying. Thinking seriously if looking for another more friendly app.

Great user interface but the ads are awful. Too many ads, each time you try to open the app an add pops up, you cant close them straight away, the close button is timed to appear a few seconds later, the ads interrupt your song/podcast and you want to check your progress during your walk but I dread opening it because of the annoying ads. I’m not against ads, you need to make money, just don’t make them so intrusive like you do—a banner without sound would have been ok.

It’s pretty good.. Totally synced with my iPhone and Apple ID account to retrieve all old health/steps stats that were recorded from multiple previous iPhones. Very happy with the free version, the ads aren’t overly annoying.

Why?. Why does this app tell me I’ve reached my daily step goal first thing in the morning when my feet have hardly touched the floor? Also when I’ve been sitting on the couch for a length of time? Weird.

Easy to Use. Easy to use and understand. Good historical view for monitoring trends with lifestyle changes Needs kJ option for energy and not just Calories. A display that averages hour the same hour of the day across walking history to see time of day trends. Something similar for days of the week would be cool too.

New update is the worst. I wrote a review about a week ago which never got published. I wonder why? The new update is rubbish. Firstly it stopped showing my steps on the widget without having to open the app, whereas now you have to pay for this convenience. After writing my last review stating how terrible the new update is the app won’t even open. As I’m hoping it is still recording everything I’m waiting for an even newer update to fix said problem so I don’t have to delete it and reload it. If they don’t listen to all of the bad reviews about the widget not showing the steps without paying for it I will delete the app altogether and find a new one. Not impressed!

Issue. Hi, I’m been using this app for many years - I find it the best and easiest to use - I would have nearly 5 yrs of data I have recommended the app to many friends However on 22nd March 2020 just as the pandemic was taking hold around the world a glitch occurred - today date after many many attempts to reinstall - restore my purchase & data No success I’ve lost all my badges awards and daily records & data Is there anything to restore my history Regards Gary

Take that first step. This app is really very useful and easy to use. As the title implies it counts your steps and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that others do which makes it so easy to use. You can read how many steps you’ve taken on a day, week, month and even year. It also has cute goals that you can aim for such as distances to cities that your steps will have covered. Highly recommended.

Why is the health step count different to the Stepz step count?. The Apple Watch activity app step count, the Health app step count and the Stepz step count are all different. Should I really do 500 more steps to reach my goal on Stepz or be satisfied by exceeding it on the Apple Watch activity app?

App was great, but now sometimes loses data. I have used this app and found it great for years until early this May/ 2-3 weeks ago when it started losing step data from a day or 2 days ago, showing zero steps, even though on that day it showed the data correctly. Then a day or days later it will show that day back at its non-zero total. In short, unreliable!

Last update ruined my favourite app. I loved this app and used it every day but last update it’s absolutely rubbish and it crashes constantly. It is nearly impossible to open it. I would really love to use it like I used to during at least three or four years but it is simply impossible. Please make this wonderful application useable again or send me information how to download old version of it. Hopefully it will work smoothly again shortly.

Great App. Love the app, gives me plenty of motivation to stay fit. One improvement that would great is under Achievements section on Steps per Day is to display the number of times you have achieved say 20K steps.

4 1/2 years. My steps data on this app is over four years. That's how long I've been using it. Over 4 million steps in a year. It’s either I’m stuck with the app or it’s really good. I’m happy with its development for that period of time. 4 1/2 years. Still going. 👍

I guess it’s fun but it could be better. First of all, Stepz is certainly not a bad app. I love how to is so useful when I want to manage my calories and steps without a watch on me. But the only thing I would love to change is that I don’t have to be a pro to use the widget on my home screen. That would be wayyyy more helpful. Anyways great app and I recommend it!

New update now app not working. App has been frozen and not working since update. Not tracking steps. Unable to click on anything. After watching short ad on opening the screen is just frozen. Before update this app worked great. Used daily.

Love it.. Great and accurate

App review. I like the app it ver accurate and helpful with a lot analyses and data

Inspirational walk. Keep it up and walk for life 👍

Disney -3 parks. I loved Using this App, to tell us how Many steps, I did on a day, at the Disney Parks. Three parks -10 miles

Good until it freezes. Can’t get a reading it’s searching for I don’t know what I guess I will have to delete the program and reinstall

Boon. Vintage

Excellents. Merci

Excellent for tracking progress. Data is kept so that one can keep track of the progress being made

Stepz. I am watchful to a point because I don’t carry my phone at all times. When I do my morning walk Stepz tells me how far I have gone. It also lets me know when I am able to get my walk. Those days I have more steps.

Love it. I have totally enjoyed using this app. It appears to be quite accurate as far as the steps on the distances it measures.

Brilliant. It’s actually brilliant!

Stepz. Awesome app. Keeps me on track. Loves it!❤️

My daily companion. I use daily to track steps. Goal is 10K per day. Check it every evening.

Thanks. Love it use it every day

Stepz/ a good app. La meilleure en son genre.

Review. Good App but sometimes goals etc aren’t updated in real time. Can’t add activities to the app that occurred without your phone such as lane swim

Love Stepz, so motivating!!. I have been using Stepz for a couple weeks and I absolutely love it. It keeps me motivated to reach my step goals when I see I have reached them for several days. I just want to keep going and move the goal post further away. It has rekindled my love of walking. Thank you so much. This app has really added so much value to my life.

Stepz. I find this app very helpful. It keeps me motivated to walk and then walk some more

Review. This app is great. I’m very happy to have it and it helps me keep my activity up on a daily basis.

review. great app

Not friendly to low-vision users. Low vision users depend on iPhone's VoiceOver capability to speak an app's important info (because our phone screen is just a blur to us). Many apps integrate well this way, but Stepz fails except in triggering its ad's. Very hard to access the one statistic it's named after. Developers, please test this app's ability to announce daily step progress via VoiceOver for ADA compliance!

Appréciation. J’aime bien cette application!

Latest update broke the app. When opened after update, app tried to reimport history but never completes.

I’m i. I a

Too many ads. I like the app but there are way too many ads Almost 2 minutes before the app actually comes up

Excellent!. This app has encouraged me to walk more. It is very easy and fun to use. I like all the milestones it tracks and the weekly averages help keep me focused. Wish the app is able to calculate cycling distance

Got you up walking and kept you going daily. Simple App yet it keeps you up to walk more and you will wanted to. Great App.

Completely inaccurate. It records very random and inaccurate numbers of steps and distances. Last week it recorded that I walked 69,000 steps, or 55 km in one day. I do walk or run a lot but not THAT much. The native Health app on the iOS seems much more accurate (it recorded 38,000 steps for the same day. I wouldn’t bother with app.

Love ❤️. LOVE ❤️ IT❤️

Not working. App not recording my steps this last week so it’s not working properly

Stepz. Easy to use. Does what I need

Just what I wanted. I love the app. I use it constantly to track workouts

🏃🏻‍♀️🧍‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🧍‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🧍‍♀️. Remains one of my MOST USED APP ON MY IPHONE —…🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Tellement utile. Cette application m’aide avec ce suivi chaque journée qui passe

Not sure the accuracy!. Treadmill says 2kms this app says 4kms

Publicité. Je suis très mécontente d’avoir toujours des publicités , quand j’ouvre mon Stepz. Veillez me soustraire de ces publicités . Car je vais me plaindre à qui de droit. Merci Jacinthe Moreau

Startup Ad has RUINED This App. I have been using this app for about 5 years and have loved it but recently updated it and what a mistake that was. There’s now a full screen ad you can’t click out of for like 5 seconds as soon as you start the app, every time you start it. I don’t mind ads but this is too intrusive and wastes my time. If the next version doesn’t correct this the app is getting deleted. :(

Super!!. App efficace pour suivre mes pas par jour!!

Review on free week love it and use it daily. Love this App, keeps me motivated to walk and to try to out do the previous weeks and days

Excellent accompagnateur. Merci

Expensive. After a month i received an email that my weekly subscription fee is going to change. This app has increased my fee doubled than the regular payment.intially it gives a different number to insist customer to install the app then, the started charging more. It’s fraud. Don’t install it.

Too many too long commercials. Good app but number of commercials, their length and a fact that a lot of them freezes make this app almost unusable.

Too Many Ads. It used to be good but now it’s all ads and when you open it it just shows you ads and you’re forced to watch them until you can exit out totally sucks!!

Review. I love this app thank you so much

Much better than Fitbit. If all you need is to count steps and calories, this serves the purpose quite well. My Fitbit is gathering dust in the drawer.

Bertrand. Très bien

Easy breezy. It’s a no frills app that…well…counts your steps. I do like how it tells you that you’ve walked the equivalent of Manhattan for example.

Steps. Very good Very good 😌 !!!

Keeps me motivated. Easy to use. Just seeing the numbers as I walk or run I am motivated to keep going. We compare our achievements with others in my circle and my family is often a conversation breaker.

Great app. I love this app. Weekly, monthly and yearly views are great, interface is well made. Do you plan to release a dark mode option? It would be perfect!

Nice App update. I’ve been using Stepz for a few years. It is a great app but recently the steps are disappearing from my history. First it was on Wednesday, steps recorded than showed 0 on Friday, the Friday’s steps disappeared, and today, Sunday’s steps disappeared. Not sure what the problem is. I am hoping that the update that I did today solves the problem. If not, I’ll be looking for a new app to record my steps. Update: the rating is 5 stars again! The problem that I mentioned above is resolved. My steps are back. I clicked in settings and rest my steps are back.

Retired Pastor. 4.3 years ago I had a heart attack in the “widow maker” artery. By God’s good grace, I survived and my cardiologist wanted me to start walking 40 minutes a day, five days a week. It was boring and mundane. Then a friend told me about the Stepz app and I have been using it since August 2015. What a wonderfully simple but encouraging and helpful app! As of this day, I have walked over 3 million steps and feel better than I have felt in decades. The app keeps track of my time, steps, distance, and encourages me with my achievements. THANK YOU STEPZ and keep improving the app. I love it!

How to turn a 5-star app into a 1-star app..... Stepz WAS one of my favorite apps - for more than 12 million steps & over 5400 miles. Unfortunately the new version wanted to link to the Heath app. After doing that it would hang on startup with the download from Health screen. I had to turn off access to health to get it to load. Strike 1. Then I could no longer see steps & miles on the same screen without swiping back & forth. Strike 2. And the full screen pop-up adds are OBNOXIOUS. Strike 3. And today I found my miles did not match my stride. Why? You can no longer set your stride length so you can calibrate miles with you GPS hiking app. The app uses your height to estimate stride! Well I have long legs for my height. Strike 4. Unless they fix these issues, I’ll have to find another steps app....

Love the Stepz app.. I’ve used since 2015. I absolutely love it. It’s great with a lot of interesting and different types of results/features. It’s use of colors to make my results stand out is a great feature and motivator. I will always use the Stepz app. Please keep improving it. Questions: 1. What improvements or changes are you working on? 2. Why do the numbers change as time goes on. Already Jan. and Feb. of 2020 have increased dramatically, as has 2019 and prior. Do I have it set incorrectly? Please advise. Thank you. I’d love a reply from you.

Terrible upgrade & insane new subscription plan. Last round of updates wiped out accumulated data. But it gets worse, they introduced a confusing and ridiculous subscription plan to access our data. Deleting. Update: a recent upgrade reinstalled the wiped out data. Kudos to the developers for listening to the uproar a misguided upgrade caused. I reinstalled and will keep watching future upgrades. That said, before the debacle, it was an excellent step app. Now that the upgrade drama subsided and developers did the right thing, it’s back to 5 stars.

Extremely accurate. I have a watch that has a pedometer built in it. Sadly, it really doesn’t count my steps as this app does. I’m seriously thinking of just donating the watch as it’s almost useless. I also like that you get badges for completing challenges. I work in the security department and I do a lot of walking around for my job so many of the badges came very easily and pretty much all at once. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how many more I can complete in the future. Very easy to use as well.

Advertising too intrusive. Overall I enjoy using this program, but some of the ads just won’t go away, and some of them don’t have a an X box so that I can get rid of them right away. And getting the Stepz home display to come on (after the green man) seems to involve a lengthy delay on occasion. It says something about updating my information but I think it’s really just loading the next ad. And the X box on some ads is too small, plus seems to be insensitive—I have to punch and punch and punch to get the ad to close. Very aggravating.

Get to stepping. Great app. Still has a glitch or two. I have my daily goal set at 8,000 steps, whereupon the vertical bar of the Progress Bar Chart 📊 is supposed to turn green,.. and most times it does. Occasionally, for reasons unknown to me, after gaining my goal or even 12,000 steps, the current daily bar remains orange. I can then go into setting and lower my goals steps and that causes the app to then turn the daily bar green,.. which is a reward for getting out of bed and getting my walk on.

Pure MOTIVATION!!!!. Every time I open up this app and see the progress I’ve made or what little progress I’ve made, it motivates me to get up and move around! My daily goal is to achieve at least 10 thousand steps per day! So far I’ve successfully done so, with only a few days missed! I’m super proud of myself considering I was kinda a couch potato. This is one of the best apps I’ve downloaded thus far! Two thumbs up! With all great things there’s a negative, (the Ads)! They’re short ads, but none the less they’re kinda annoying! Hope you enjoy this app as much as have!😊

Advertising. I repeatedly receive a pistachio advertisement that cycles from one page to another and back. The only way to stop it and return to the Stepz app is to reboot my phone. Other advertisements do similar things, like hiding the “X” in similar colors to camouflage it. I walk around 1000 miles a year and use your app to track my progress, I walk fast and stop at intervals to check my time and distance. I wouldn’t and do not fault anyone for making a profit but if this gets worse or you can not fix it I will look for another application. Using since 2017.

Simple and Sweet. Stepz is a great app. I have recommended it to several friends and family members. It’s just a simple step counter that tells you all the basic info you want to know like calories burned, and miles/kilometers walked. It’s about 95% accurate at tracking every step, while not tracking things that aren’t steps. So if you HAVE to have something that records your steps perfectly, well, I suppose this is not it, but honestly who does? All-in-all it’s a great app, and the premium upgrade is only 99 cents if you feel the need to dip into the kid’s college fund...

Have this app from day one. It is really great and precise and helped me a lot with my fitness tracking but since the last update it has been so much attacking me with pop ups and commercials that its so annoying while you run or exercise and you need to wait through an advertisement to be able to read status or anything. This app deserves 5 star....it has everything one need but until something doesnt get done with these adverts popping every second i might replace it with another one on the end. And we have been together for such long time.

Lost Data?. I’ve been using Stepz for years. I just started the new version and all my steps from yesterday are gone. How does it just suddenly lose a day’s worth of data? It’s not even showing my steps from the health app from yesterday. It shows zero steps. Not cool. Also, Stepz needs an Apple Watch complication. I track my activity rings on my watch and think I should be able to do the same with my steps. I’m not talking about a watch app, that’s already there (and the speed of that app has improved). I want to see how far along I am on my daily goal at a glance using a complication. Buy mostly I want my data from yesterday back without losing my historical data.

Thank you. I use this app to keep track of my steps during working hours. I have set a goal of 10,000 steps per night. At first it was difficult, but after a while, the goal was part of my routine. Sometimes during my work night, I find that I could come up short of my goal. I simply go back through my area and do a better job. This has earned me better raises for a job done better that my coworkers.

Your reviewyour system is not working correctly give me back old system. I liked the old system better no commercials lrepeat old system was better do not like commercials or adds u are not reading this review because commercials are still in user Why are you changing the steps app again now it does not show weekly steps still showing too many commercial I do not need nest items if did I would go get them some place

System Freaked Out!. I use this app “religiously” every day and walk an average of 8-12 miles EVERY day. I monitor my steps and occasionally take photo shots of my accomplishments. In March, 2022, my #’s somehow got skewed and my totals for just about every day were increased by almost 2X…and not only increased drastically each day, but have carried over to my annual (number) of steps as well. In April, the total steps for each day are accurate and realistic (and are correct for May) so far…but something happened in late March that screwed up the totals for the entire month. What happened?

You’ll lose days now. When I first downloaded this app in 2014(?) it worked great and was very reliable. It motivates me to reach my goals. However, in the last year (2019) it occasionally will completely drop a day or few. This messes up my counts for weekly, monthly totals and my rolling averages. Yes I have sent in a bug report. I was told to hook it up to Apple health to find those missing days. This is not a good solution to point me to a more reliable app instead of just fixing Stepz. I am now test walking other apps for a replacement. Sad to say. But I just lost 3 days in a row. So frustrating.

Too Many Ads. I’ve used this app for years to track my step goals. However, this will be the final one. In the past you would see an occasional ad. These days the ads are constant with many taking around 30 seconds to play. Then you’re given the smallest “x” imaginable to close the ad. I swear, even if you hit the “x” right on the nose, more often than not it will still act as if you clicked on the ad itself and takes you off to the App Store or to a web link. This then triggers, you guessed it, yet another ad when you go back into the app… I just want to view my step count for the day, seriously. In many other instances when opening the app you’re presented with a black screen for several seconds before being presented with an “x” to close it (I assume the ad failed to load properly). Unfortunately the “x” isn’t clickable in these instances, so you have to refresh the app and go through the experience all over again… As my iPhone now tracks steps with the Health app, Steps, and all of the hassle it has become, will be removed. I can no longer recommend this app.

Love This App!! 🥰. I’ve used quite a few steps/activity apps, but I love how simple this one is to use!! I just like to keep up with my activity, not necessarily diet/food intake, etc. since I can do that on my own, so this app is perfect for those who simply want to keep up with accurate activity! I also love the achievements / goals! Fun way to recognize not only the most activity in a day, but gives an idea of exactly what amount of activity is necessary to meet goals!! 😊🙏🏼 Thanks Stepz!

It worked well, then you KNOW what happened. This was an enjoyable app that worked extremely well. It counted and logged all your steps accurately day by day. It had mostly ads that floated in the background that weren’t annoying or obtrusive. Nothing that got in your face. Hey, I get it. It’s a free app and the developers get to make some $$$, I’m all for it. But then came the annoying videos when I opened the app. The videos started playing as quickly as I opened it. If you don’t mind watching a video you can’t skip, then you’ve found the right app. Thank goodness there are other free step counting apps without the aggravating videos.

Buggy behavior is frustrating and demotivating. I have used this app for years and mostly loved it. There has always been a bug when I traveled across time zones where I wound up with lots of extra steps. But since that doesn’t happen frequently, I could live with it. Recently, the app has started losing steps randomly. Going in to see how I am doing for the week and seeing a big fat 0 for a day ago is super frustrating. The only way I know to fix that is to re-import from health data. But I am tired of doing that. I may as well just use Apple’s Health app in that case. I have tried reporting these bugs and never saw fixes or got a reply. I’m done with the app.

Question. I have used Stepz for 6+ years and value the app a whole lot. In fact I would rate it a 5.0 except for the following observation. Why as days go by does the app. continue to add steps to previous days increasingly distorting the actual step counts for those previous days? You no longer have an accurate count other then the current day. Thank you. Also back last August the app. multiplied my step history by about 2.5x. just like that so I know longer have an accurate history. I would appreciate an answer. Thank you Steve Sedgwick

Used to be great. I had the version previous to these newer updates, I got a new iPhone and now it’s gotten super annoying. Every time I open it there is an ad, if I got to another app and right back to this one- there is an ad. It doesn’t matter how long or how short a time in between using it if I keep it open or not for sure there will be an add. Even if I just checked it a few seconds before. It’s really annoying. They must be making good money now that they’re spamming so continuously. It doesn’t feel like I am using a activity app anymore, it feels like I am using an app that is dedicated to constant ads. Pretty impressive- in the wrong direction.

Easy to use, but.... I used to love this app until they introduced obligatory 5 second full screen ads every time I access the data, that is before you can turn it off, which is a huge bother if you are on the move. I can handle ad banners but not this. As an alternative they offer a “subscription” at $2.99 per week, that’s right, per week, charged directly to your Apple account (where you are less likely to notice the charges). With that I am downgrading my review from 5 to 3 stars and deleting the app from my phone. I’ll use the Apple native app which is free and has all the info I need.

Works great ! Less Filling!. First - I like this better than my old fit bits - plural, as in the three I put in the washing machine and others I’ve lost - I like the phone connection and that whenever ( which is pretty much always during waking hours) I’m moving the app is moving w me. The counters and screen are useful and well done and the history is great to have for comparing to previous stepping . The commercials seemed to have increased dramatically after the last updates and that us annoying but what r you gonna do with a free (light ) lunch...

Great exercise app. I use this app everyday to keep track of my steps. It is very helpful at doing this accurately. The little badges add encouragement to improve my distance and I've made it past 25K steps on one day. I also like the way the app keeps track of calories burned. Since using the app, I've lost about 25 pounds and feel motivated to keep walking! Hard to believe how bad Stepz has become I one day. It no longer works and is full of stupid ads and repetitious requests for information about your height and weight. The stupidity of the revisions of the app is simply infathonable.

Game Changer. Hey guys! I really love this app and I have an idea that I feel needs to be an addition to the already outstanding application.... As a runner, I am constantly changing my approach to keep my body off guard. I use intervals to achieve fitness goals. Your application allows for the user to change how long the average stride distance is...That is fantastic! Once changing the stride length, the distance traveled accommodates (like it should!). If I am walking, my average stride length is 34". When I am running, my stride length is an average of 50". When changing the length, the app changes the entire steps for the day, week, month, year, and total steps. I'm asking to be able to simply change my stride length when I am running and to keep walking steps and running steps separate as well as totaled together. Example: There are 5,280 feet in a mile. Walking distance 1000 steps at 34" per step. 2833 feet Running distance 1000 steps at 50" per step. 4166 feet Total distance 2000 steps. 7000 feet.

Stepz; keep you honest. I’ve use Stepz everyday to track my steps for the past few years. Stepz helps to keep me honest as I try to keep active. As senior citizen, my doctor is very encouraged at how I’m trying to keep active. Stepz enables me to keep track of my steps plus I’m able to share this information with my doctor too. Stepz also allows others to join in and share activity. This program allows you to stay honest with yourself and others. It also permits me to adjust the number of steps I want to achieve.

Not happy. No communication.. A little hard to navigate. To get back to daily steps after going to history, for instance. Also when I want to find out how many steps ive walked at the end of a day and then find I need 25 seps to reach my goal, I then walk those 25 steps. And they don’t register ... I’ve waited some minutes to see if they will. No soap. My question, When and how are steps registered? I’m interested to see if you will actually answer this rather involuted message.l

Stepz is the best!. Since I always have my phone on me, I have found Stepz to be the most efficient way to ensure I’m getting my daily exercise without the added expense of another device. As an older person who isn’t all that tech savvy, I have found Stepz to be the easiest way to support my efforts to remain agile while maintaining my muscle strength. A very BIG ‘Thank You’ to those who created the app and to those who continually strive to keep it updated and current. Because of your efforts, as a 74-year old, I am living a healthier life.

Good app but could be better. Good step counter the first day. If you keep a separate tally of the number of steps each day, you will see that they increase after the fact. How does the total for every day go up several days later? And keep going up. This small bug doesn’t keep me from using it, but is annoying for someone who wants accuracy. Eventually all days totals, average step, monthly steps total and yearly total are inaccurate. This would get a 5 star if it was accurate.

No longer works for me. After using this app for over 3 years, during which time I was happy with it, I have now changed my mind entirely. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded a fitness app on my phone which uses GPS to track how much distance I have ACTUALLY walked rather than merely counting steps to determine miles walked. I find that this Stepz app is way off the mark in comparison with the GPS fitness app. The Stepz app overestimates mileage, even when started first thing in the morning along with the GPS app. The difference is significant, and this app is actually not reliable enough to be useful or significant. 😿 👎

Love the app itself. April 2021. This is a great app and I love all the different things it tracks but I hate all the ads, 5-10 in a row before I can get to the actual app. Yes I know I can pay to do ad free buts it’s ridiculous to pay that monthly. I don’t mind the occasional ad but not every single time I want to use it and so many in a row. Unfortunately I will probably delete it because it’s to frustrating to deal with that. Like a lot of developers they got greedy over time and assume people will cave and pay their outrageous prices. Not me!

Love it!. This app is one of most used apps that I have on my IPhone. I track my steps every day. I walk my dog 3 times a day. Now I know how far we go daily and I can listen music and check in with my wife while walking. My wife also has this app on her IPhone and like me she has steps goals. We both like the ability to look at our history. Five stars for this app if I didn’t get all those ads. 😳 Also, I had cancer surgery and it’s going to take 4-5 months to get close to where was. Anyway, this app gets 4 stars.

Deleting the app. With next to the latest version, some of my data were inflated. Now the latest version, all my historical data were wiped out, I thought I needed to delete and reinstall the app, which I did. After that I saw a response from a developer to a reviewer that don't do that. Too late now, when tried to use to use the app, it forces me either subscribe to $2.99/week or the trial with no option to X out. With the subscription, it allows you to access the historical data. This explains why there was no historical data showing. After years of using this app, now it tries to hold historical data hostage like that? I'm sorry but this app will be deleted and I believe it'll be an exodus to delete it.

Stepz. Adds steps data much faster the the Health app does. But yesterday I flew across three time zones - LA to Atlanta. When I checked my daily steps record, going back weeks, all my daily amounts had doubled from what I remembered. When I checked the hourly data for several given days, I noticed that some hourly data repeated itself three hours apart, same as the time zone difference. Maybe this will correct itself when I return home. Needs to be fixed though. Other than that, great app. I would give 5 stars with this problem fixed.

Declining. I miss the old application, I purchased it outright back when it was a fledgling new piece of software. I was rewarded for my early adoption and support of the developers by having features removed rather than added to or expanded. I am no longer able to share my stats with my spouse, which was a huge piece of motivation for me. And the widget is broken, it just doesn’t appear whatsoever. I have widgets offered to me in my suggestions menu, when, adding a widget for applications that I have no business having a widget at all and yet this one, one that significantly improved and enhances your interaction with the application has failed to keep up with an essential part of the application.

Keeps me going but. Terrible back problems had me not walking without a walker for years. Thankfully my fourth surgery was a success and little by little I’ve recovered. Wonderful to see the monthly and yearly progress. This app spurs me on! However, sometimes the app doesn’t work! It’s frustrating to not have my steps counted properly. This year it’s happened more than last. Really hope it can be fixed soon. It looks like I’m walking less than I am! Thankfully another app is keeping better track but I love the ability to see weeks months and years, Don’t want to see wrong data though!

Amazing app. Omg I love this app so much that I recommended it to my friends. I definitely trust it more then the apple health app because it tracked all of your steps. I love all the new features and have had this app for almost 2 years now. 100% would recommend this app to everyone, and I’ve even put it onto my family’s phones and they love it. I live knowing how many hours I’ve been active, and how many calories I’ve burned off during that time. Thank you so much for making such a reliable and amazing app.

Easy to use, lots of info and history. Stepz is easy to use with a clear interface and provides lots of information. For example, total number of steps as you go, it has the hours between which you do your most walking or running, a graph set showing the week, how many flights of stairs and many other things. A really great feature is that I can look all the way back to June 2017, for example, and see that Walked 12.2 miles one day in Berlin. It also syncs perfectly with Apple Watch 2, 3 and 4.

Handy and clear app. Stepz is one of the most efficient walking exercise apps in the market. No need to turn on as long as I keep my iPhone in my pocket and carrying bag. I get to have an idea of how much I have walked everyday. ***The only downside is that there’re too many commercials before I could check the steps. Sometime they could not even be turned off even waited for over a minute or two! The bottom line: I used the Stepz on a daily basis! It’s very important for tracking my every day exercises they this app.

Reason I walked 2 million steps. I started using this is a whim but soon it was integrated in my daily life. It’s s amazing having your goal appearing in front of you how it can motivate someone. Every day it serves as a reminder me to get active and get going. Even thru cancer treatments I did my best to meet my daily goal. Several years later, I still use Steps every day and will do so in the future. The only exercise related app which I use and have done so through COVID, cancer, blizzards and every day life.

Inconsistent data. I’ve been having issues for weeks with inconsistent data. Randomly, a day will show as 0 steps even though I should be well over 10,000. The only way that I’ve found to fix this is to go to Settings and Reimport Historical Data. However, when I did that the first time, I suddenly lost about 200,000 steps from last year and another 150,000 from this year. Almost all of my days that were previously over 10,000 now show somewhere in the 7,000-8,000 range. I’ve done this a few times now to fix missing days, and the numbers for other days keep changing. I actually like the interface of this app more than a lot of others, but it is becoming unreliable and unusable due to the inconsistency of data.

Not happy. The latest version of Stepz is a huge step backward. The colors are more muted, the goal “line” is gone, and the ads are more intrusive. The screen only shows 3 days instead of 7. I’m also annoyed that two days ago the count suddenly showed 0 steps. Bring back the previous version! Update: Stepz did respond to this review by saying if I updated to version 3.1.2 all would be well. Nope! No improvement. Moreover, I was really annoyed to find that I’ve been charged for a week after my “free” week upgrade trial. Caveat folks: they don’t ask you after a free week if you wish to enter a subscription. They charge you, and it is your responsibility to cancel. I find this egregious business practice!

I Walked 6,200 miles since 2018.. I walked across the Sahara desert in Africa and My app said I walked across Russia but I did not walk across the United States of America. The devil was found in Georgia, I went to Jamaica. He ran, revenuer was after him. I was not allowed to take a toke of his stash. Mine was better. Michael the Archangel. Have a nice day, reality check. Everybody knows who I really am. Mike Spieler. You live in biblical times and life imitates fiction and you and I need each other to have global peace. A Godly country prospers and ungodly countries perish. My Spirit is very holy, and God makes the rules and not you or me.

A handy and useful tool. Stepz is a great way to track my approximate calories burned and distance. Being a professional dog walker I sometimes compete against myself to see if I can beat the previous days total. It’s interesting to see how many hours are actually used for walking. I really enjoy seeing how many calories are burned by the amount of mileage and steps taken. I Like the newest version of the Stepz app. Keep up the good work and I will too!

Stepz Review. Wonderful app. I developed type 2 diabetes in 2014. My spouse installed Stepz on my iPhone to help me be motivated to get more exercise. And motivate me it did. I walk an average of 15,000 to 17,000 steps every day. I lost 40 lbs. as a result. Both my glucose and A1C levels are under control and I've been able to reduce the dosage on blood pressure meds I've taken for years. It has been a key factor in maintaining a healthy life style. I show my primary care provider my "mileage" every time I see her and she is duly impressed. It truly has helped me change and maintain my lifestyle for the better.

Was great until I updated it. This app used to be great before I updated it. Now, it has an ad plastered over the info every single time I use it and it will cost $1.99 per month to remove the ads. I am not willing to pay for subscriptions to every app I use so I guess I will be searching for a new app. That’s a bummer because I really enjoyed the goals that this one had. That’s what lured me into updating...they mentioned new rewards. Not that I need rewards, but it was fun to know when I had walked further than the length of the Grand Canyon and other places. I would happily pay a one time fee to get my old version of the app back, but this trend of subscriptions for apps now seems like quite the money grab after getting attached to the free version.

Gender/sex. I just downloaded this app 2 minutes ago. Honestly I really like the formatting and I like the achievements. The one thing I noticed was in the basic details of the setup, the ‘gender’ portion. I am aware that the app needs my biological sex in order to create data and info for me, but as a non binary person it was upsetting I had to choose a ‘gender’ that wasn’t mine. An easy fix to this is literally just changing the word ‘gender’ to ‘sex.’ They mean different things and would help a lot of people out :). I’m hoping the developer sees this but wanted anyone else who isnt cis to know this in case it’s more triggering for others!!
