Best Audio Tour Guide EVER!!. I used this app for my Death Valley trip last year and Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon last month. I was so happy I stumbled upon it before taking these great adventures! This app is the best audio tour guide ever! It truly is like having a very experienced personal tour guide with you every step of the way through the parks. It helps you take advantage of what you want to do and interesting side trips you may otherwise overlook or just not know about. Even gives you an estimate on the amount of time you spend at each given location. I would highly recommend downloading it. The price is unbeatable and works via GPS so cell service isn't required! Make sure your battery is charged while you're out venturing around so you don't miss something spectacular! It's also very affordable. I LOVE the Just Ahead app!

Our first time with this app. Got it for our 5 day trip in Yellowstone. We had done a lot of reading in the course of planning the trip and we were quite happy the the information that was above an beyond what we had read. Nice coverage of history of areas, history and impact of fires. Geology of the region and specific points of interest. The GPS function was quite accurate. It pinpointed our location well while pointing out little known ares and side roads. Just ahead was a great addition to our trip. I would enthusiastically recommend this , especially if this is a first trip I will purchase an other if we travel to another covered area

Excellent app but needs updated. This is a fantastic app with lots of really great information, including history and descriptions of attractions based on location. Some of the info is outdated, such as camp grounds described as first come, first serve that are now reservation only. If you’re going to multiple parks, download the guides before you need them. While we were leaving Yellowstone, it advised me to switch to the Tetons plan but I had no cell coverage, so we traveled several miles into the park with no info available. Still highly recommend!

Awesome app for national parks. How many time do people visit a place and unless you have a tour guide, you have no clue about the history of the region. A friend told me about JustAhead when visiting Big Bend. We downloaded the app but I really didn’t expect much. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Using the GPS in my phone the app knew exactly where we were and talked about all the history of structures, the region and so much more than I could have imagined. I will never visit another national park without downloading the map again. It was better than a personal tour guide!

Best. APP. EVER.. Why are you even bothering to read these reviews?! Download the app and get started exploring and/or just enjoying a drive. There aren’t enough superlatives or words to describe how much this app increases your enjoyment and sense of adventure on a road trip. If you aren’t adventurous you will enjoy hearing and learning about the places you pass. History, Fun facts, etc. If you are adventurous - the app invites you to stop, hike, drive, explore stops along the way - and gives you great instructions about how to access the stop. Again, I ask - why are you hesitating?!?!? Download the app and get started.

Great tool and relevant information!. We have used Just Ahead in three parks and don’t know how we would have done without it. Great and timely information, very useful, presented in a good way with the right level of information. Only thing I would add is information if you can drive with RV or similar on some roads as that is now always clear and when road signs is not showing either you might end up in a tricky situation.. Highly recommend - looking forward to having more parks added!

We love this app. Have used several guides. We started by downloading the app and buying the Bryce Canyon tour. We loved it so much that we paid for a subscription and have used Bryce, Zion's and Cedar Breaks. Tomorrow we are visiting Yellowstone and the Tetons and have downloaded both of those tours in preparation for our trip. Make sure you download the tour you want to use when you have a good connection. :-). I am shocked they don't have a tour for the Redwoods but I'm sure that's coming If you travel to the parks listed, it's really worth the subscription price to get access to all of the guides.

Wish I knew about this sooner!. I have absolutely loved exploring our national parks no matter how haphazardly my plans have been put together, but the best trips are always the ones where I've done my homework ahead of time. Unfortunately I don't always get to the parks during visitor center operating hours, so I miss out on some great opportunities simply because I didn't know about them. But now I have Just Ahead! I was so, so excited when the audio first cued on and started telling me about what I was driving through in Death Valley. I was able to go confidently exploring, even in the middle of the night, and I ended up doing way more than I planned to because Just Ahead did such a great job describing things and getting me excited. I absolutely love this app and can't wait to hit another park ASAP.

Best road trip app ever. What I great app, used four of the guides. Give us all the best places to stop at. Was awesome that it know when we back tracked and didn’t reply the same information over and over again. Didn’t have time to see everything the app had to show so I’ll be back in the parks again. Sometime I wish it had more information to talk about but I know it’s a fine line between being enjoyable and bugging the hell out of you. I think they nailed that line well, give us time to talk about the things it had to say in between. Another thing I had trouble with and this is more of an iPhone issue. If you play music in the back round with lyrics it makes it hard to hear the voice. Would be nice if the music could be muted but we just switched to Jazz and enjoyed the rest of the road trip. At the end I could be any happier with it.

The BEST Travel Companion. If you are traveling the Parks this App is a must. It works regardless of cell service. I love it. Tells you so many wonderful bits of information, trivia, history, geography, geology, all about the animals and wildlife and the natives that used to live in different locations. It tells you to turn off at places you would’ve never thought to turn off. We have seen things I can’t even begin to tell you because of this out. But what I love most is, I am normally the one with my head buried in a book reading directions and looking at where we should turn. All the while missing so much that is going by. This app allows you just to keep looking around and listening as it goes. It’s wonderful. You never miss a thing. We first used it in Yellowstone, and I kept thinking about how much I would’ve missed if I had not had this out. I was able to look up the whole time. Just a head is the best. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star, was there some things that you have to pull over and stop for it to play. I would love to go back and re-listened to those pieces of information at a later time. But you can’t do it unless you’re in the park at those locations and stopped. I wish they had a way for us to re-listen to those also. It’s definitely worth buying the annual subscription. Would love to see them add more locations.

Do yourself a favor and get this app!!. We used this app for our five week tour of National parks this past fall and are SO GRATEFUL that we had it with us!!!! It totally transformed what could have been a disorganized and uneventful trip into the trip of a lifetime! Because we visited over 20 national parks/sites in such a short span of time, we had limited hours to see the best of each location and really enjoy the atmosphere and splendor of them all. This app made our trip amazing and full of adventure at each place we went. We absolutely LOVED the historical backgrounds and other tidbits as we drove in and out of each location and was amazed at how thoroughly each place was covered. We found additional sites to visit just by listening and they were some of the highlights of our whole trip!! Thank you so much for making this app and we can’t wait to use more tours as they become available!!!

This app is a MUST. We just completed a 35 day road trip and used Just Ahead for 8 different National Parks. This app is a gem! It provided us with a wealth of information that we would have never gotten. Instead of reading in a book and missing the scenery, we focused all of our attention on our adventure. There were numerous times where we would have missed essential places because there wasn’t a compelling sign or way of knowing how special something would be. I highly recommend you pay the low fee for a year as this app gives back hand over fist. You won’t be disappointed!! The road Just Ahead is spectacular! Get out there and experience it for yourself!

Well done for touring!. We are an RV family and have loved using these guides along our travels. Very easy and with our vehicle, the audio switching between whatever else we’re listening to and the guides is seamless. The only drawback is that on our iPhones, there doesn’t appear to be a way to manually select and play any spots. The Help guide talks about a blue “play” icon appearing next to the spot name when you select a blue location icon, but all we get is a white hover over with the name: there is no “play” button appearing anywhere. 5 stars once this is fixed!

Absolutely worth it!. If you visit National Parks in the west, YOU NEED THIS APP! We've been to Yellowstone close to a dozen times. We saw something about Just Ahead on Facebook and decided to try it out on our last trip in August. IT WAS AWESOME!!! We learned SO MUCH!! We named our guide Bob and listened to him all through the park. They even have a route for I15 for your next drive to California (we drive from Utah to CA quite a bit) And we'll be using the Long Beach tour on our next trip! It's a more expensive app, but totally worth it. Even the kids loved it!

Best travel app ever.. We found out about this app in our Big Bend National Park packet that we got from the Texas visitor center. We thought sure we will try it and wow so glad we did. We felt like we k we everything and saw everything while at big bend with the voice of just ahead. We started downloading as we went along so we could be sure and catch everything important without having to follow maps and booklets etc. We were lost when we came to a park that didn’t have a guide yet so you can bet we will be working to hit all the parks with the just ahead tour guide. And look forward to more being added. We joined for a year and expect to continue doing so. Super great app Just retired travelers enjoying it all with the help of just ahead.

So great! Worth every penny.. I bought the one year subscription which gives me access to all the National Parks on the list because I love to travel. I used it in Yellowstone today. I’ve been to this park 8 or 9 times. Don’t need a map anymore. But this app educated me with all the history, told me specific details about each trail to help with decision making, showed me some “secret” little detours that offered beautiful vistas. It was like having a private tour guide who’s an expert on the park. Tomorrow I’ll use it for Grand Teton. I’ll never visit another park on the list without using the app.

Amazing App for National Parks. Just returned from traveling the Great Plains/Rocky Mountains. Spent 2 weeks & visited 5 National Parks (Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Badlands, Mount Rushmore, & Rocky Mountains NP). This app was amazing! It was like having a tour guide in the vehicle. Worked great thru Bluetooth connection. Starts talking before entering the park & no matter which way or what direction you come in, it knows. Ran route in reverse the following day & did not miss a beat. Need to know where to get gas, visitors center, hotels in park, picnic areas, trails, & even bathrooms, it is here. Let’s you play music when not talking so not constant conversation. Suggests some “must see spots”. You sometimes are able to see things others miss. Would love to see every NP on this app. Every bit worth the annual fee. Told many along the way of the features & benefits of this app as they had nothing like this.

Fantastic!. This is the first review I have ever written for an app. My family was heading to Yellowstone for two and half days a few weeks after the park reopened from the COVID shutdown. I wasn’t sure what would be opened so ai decided to do some research and saw this app recommended on some website. Decided to get it and use it for our trip. SO glad I did. This thing is fantastic! The entire family enjoyed it. We had it connected to our audio system and knew when we heard the pause in our music that good info would be coming. It provided excellent details about the popular and famous areas but also great stuff about the lesser known areas as well. More than simple information, often there was also humor injected which kept it interesting. I recommended it to several people in the park as well as other friends I knew that we’re planning to visit national parks this summer. I will NEVER do another National park without this. One word of warning, internet and cell coverage in the park is sparse. Download the data for the park you are visiting while still at home.

Wonderful - made our trip to Big Bend even better. I saw mention of this app a week or two back, and remembered it for our Big Bend trip. It made our long drives through the park and county a lot more fun. The app plays recorded bits for each location of interest. It was like having a tour guide with you. This included options for the various intersections on the road. Big Bend was free, the other parks are in-app purchases. We will definitely pick up the other parks as we visit them.

What an amazing app, NP visitors....you will love this. Like everyone else we buy all kinds of apps that ‘sound’ useful in the promotional information. On a trip towards RMNP we came across Just Ahead and said let’s try it, thinking it would be another app relegated to the scrap pile after a disappointing trial - wow! We were wrong. We research NP visits and this app is an invaluable addition if you are driving to, and through one of the parks included in the list. Excellent historical and scientific information about our NPs, works without cell service, THIS APP TELLS YOU WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND WHEN TO STOP FOR THE BEST VIEWS!!!! finally an app that is worth it - we’ve since used it in Smoky Mountains NP - just great for explaining the geology, forest and bird species, waterfalls and streams and more. My only complaint - why hasn’t Greg included more NPs? GET GOING GREG!!!!!

Yellowstone tour perfect (2018). We used the Yellowstone tour in 2018 and it was amazing. We were able to learn so much about the park while we were driving. It pointed out many spots that we would’ve missed, either because we didn’t realize the turn was there or it pointed out things we hadn’t discovered in our reading. Of course, you need to download the Maps ahead of time, which are traveling companions in another car did not. The missed out on so much! That it works with the satellite GPS is perfect of course because cell reception is very spotty in Yellowstone. I can’t say enough about how this app enhanced our trip. Thank you!

Must-have App. A must have traveling app for our national parks. We spent two weeks in national parks with Just Ahead giving us wonderful information all along our path of travel. Can honestly say we learned a lot. The whole concept is genius. It knew where we were and gave us the corresponding information. Easy to use. We bought the entire subscription Which was one heckuva bargain for the four parks we visited. You can't make a better investment in your vacation then just ahead.

Don’t leave home without this app!. How incredible and amazing it is to have your own tour guide with you! Even an hour before arriving, as as you approach the National Park (for example), you’re listening to educational historical and geological overviews! One inside the NP, the guide prompts you on what to expect “Just Ahead”! These developers did an amazing job here! So well worth the minimal cost! Thank you Just Ahead for making our Grand Canyon-Arches-Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Bryce and Zion National Park visit (“The Great Circle Route”) memorable and fantastic!!

Trip enhancer is what this app should be called!. My wife and I have a travel trailer and we travel a lot to National Parks - we learned about Just Ahead years ago and have downloaded several guides. - we love it. It is gps activated so we turn them on before we get to a park to hear park history, geology, climate and Interesting information about various topics. We play the app through our truck Bluetooth system and wherever Greg has developed a Just Ahead guide we ALWAYS get it - it makes our trip better. Love the way in RMNP the app literally previews the various views and their characteristics but also tells you to wait for the best viewing turnout rather than stopping at the first one when a view is visible. Smokey Mtns guide is just the best - we are headed to UT in May and already loaded up Arches, Bryce and Canyonlands - we can hardly wait to listen!!! Many thanks Greg!!!!

Lots of great ideas for future trips. We tried this app on our drive from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas. We loved all the suggestions for side trips and will be planning some for the future! We especially enjoyed the stories about the history and landscape of the areas we were driving through. It made our drive so much more enjoyable and gave us interesting things to talk about. Looking forward to our next trip using the Just Ahead app😬

BEST APP EVER. I can't say enough good things about Just Ahead. My friend group found this app a few years ago when we started taking week-long National Parks trips. As you drive through the parks, the app GPS tracks where you are going and tells you about all the sights and views that are coming up. It gives you so many facts, stories, and information that has truly enhanced all of our trips. I'm not joking, we love this app so much that I reached out to Just Ahead and asked if the narrator could record a toast for my Maid of Honor speech in my best friend's wedding. And it was AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and download this app!!

Great app for Yellowstone. We were provided information about this app from the campground we stayed at in Gardiner MT while visiting Yellowstone. Just Ahead is a fabulous app - the narrator is very well-timed in providing useful info and interesting anecdotes, providing sufficient time to decide to take a side trip or stop at a look out. We also appreciated the heads up for restrooms and other services. We used it through our blue tooth on the car and everyone could hear the guide easily and clearly. We used the app for Yellowstone and Grand Teton and plan to use it for all the parks. I feel like I've read and studied a guidebook - we know so much more about these wonderful parks that we would have known on our own! And it's especially helpful right now when the ranger staffing is low. The developer has also been incredibly accommodating in helping us fix an error on our part in our download. We feel like we have a friend riding with us and we talk back to Gregory as we go through the park!

I never write reviews for apps - You need this. This is the most useful app I’ve ever paid for. $30 for the year is so worth it!! We have enjoyed our national park adventures so much more knowing the history and areas of interest around. It is literally like having a personal guide. We have made several AWESOME side trips because we heard about them on this guide. If you travel to national parks do yourself a favor and BUY THIS. You won’t be sorry!

Awesome. I don’t use many apps so I was a little worried about using this app. It was awesome. Hearing about the park as I drove along was so useful. Letting me know what was ahead. How far a hike to the attractions. How difficult the hike would be. Also what dirt roads were okay for cars and which weren’t let me go places I might have been to scared that the road wasn’t good enough for a normal car. It also helped me keep my direction correct by telling me right goes here and left goes there. I was surprised that it also covered some area outside the parks. I have already recommended to a few people and will continue to recommend this to everyone.

Personal Tour Guide. This app is amazing. We went on a trip that included the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons last fall. I did some research before our trip to see if I could find something like this app. When we started using it I was so thrilled at the information we learned and the things we saw. There was so much we would have missed if we had not had it with us. It’s like having a tour guide in your back seat. The app works great and is so easy to use. In several parks there is no telephone signal but the app worked perfectly without it just as advertised. We are going on another trip and have just updated our subscription for another year. Thank you JustAhead. Please keep the guides coming.

Great content!. We were fortunate to learn about this app in the very beginning of our holidays in the hotel we stayed in Moab and now after 2 weeks of constantly using it I can't imagine our trip without it. We used the following guides throughout our trip: Arches and Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Zion, Interstate 15 and Death Valley, and learned a lot! Very easy to navigate the app, really appreciate the offline mode as in most of the parks there's no good connection, and of course the best part of it is an amazing content. Worth every penny!

After 800 Miles a rare 5 star review. Well, I'm sad that Gregory and his team beat me to market with this as I currently have an "ATG" (audio tour guide) project in my XCode Developer folder. OTOH, they did a great job. I'm a docent at a state park and I appreciate the mix of natural and human history, as well as the practical tips that are included. My only minor quibble is that I would add more natual history, but that's just my preference. YMMV I listened to it from Capitol Reef, down UT-12, to Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, and home to LA via the 15. Sadly, the I-15 drive needs updating now that the Blue Cut fire destroyed the Summit Inn on old route 66. (Just wish I found it 2 days earlier before going through Rocky Mountain NP.)

This app is very informative, you don't need a guide!. We purchased the season pass as we were visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. We went to Zion first and on the way there from Saint George it pointed out all the points of interest. We took the Zion shuttle in Zion and then drove on out to Bryce thru Zion. We wished we hadn't taken the shuttle as we learned more using the app. In Bryce we used the app the entire tour and it was very informative. We used the recommendation of driving the entire park and getting out at each stop on the way back as they were all on the right side when driving back. Each point of interest it told you where to turn off and all about that particular spot. Give this app 100 out of 100! Highly recommend!

Never Stop Using Just Ahead. My husband and I used Just Ahead our first time in 2017 to Big Bend National Park. It is a huge park and we were fascinated with the history of the park and its people, the geologic explanations of the mountains and volcanoes, as well as the animals and plants we had never seen before. We used Just Ahead in Rocky Mountain NP which gave us something to talk about after each “bubble” of info. At one point we were told that around the next curve would be a place that elk like to hang out and the elk were there! Last weekend my friend and I went to hike Big Bend and listened to Just Ahead. We heard the same highlights, but this time our goals were different than with the spouse. We found a great place to hike(The Chimneys) with pictographs and petroglyphs! I absolutely Love this app!! You should try it!!

Sad when it ended. At the last minute while entering Yellowstone, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase the Just Ahead app. It was the best money we spent all trip. We saw so much more of the park because of this app. Short little side trips that you would drive by are pointed out while our “tour guide” let us know what was ahead. Our day in the car did not start until Just Ahead was streaming through the speakers. After leaving the park and while driving the thousand miles home, we often found ourselves wondering aloud what a certain landmark was that we were looking at and thinking, “Just Ahead needs to get busy and add more content.” Awesome app. Thanks to everybody that worked on it.

Excellent way to explore!. I discovered this app while preparing for our trip to Death Valley. It seemed interesting so I did the yearly subscription option. During what could have been a very boring drive through the park, we were actually quite entertained by all of the history, geology, geography, and other interesting tidbits that the app plays as you drive. It was nice that the app gives you plenty of advance notice of turns coming up ahead and what those turns lead to. My wife and I kept telling each other that this trip wouldn’t have been the same without the commentary from Just Ahead. We can’t wait to use it at the other national parks!

Made our Vacation so Special!. I would give this 100 stars if I could. We are traveling across the country & have learned so much about the different places we visited. It is much more than just telling you what you are looking at. There are interesting historical stories as well as information about nature & the landscape. The voice is very pleasant & not at all intrusive. After you download the places you purchase it works perfectly with or without cell service. Very highly recommended!

GREAT app!!. We have LOVED using Just Ahead for our travels around the country. It has added a whole new layer of excitement to visiting the national parks. We have learned so much and have discovered previously unknown gems! So much of national parks is driving - and you never know which pull offs are worthwhile, etc. but Just Ahead makes the whole experience educational and makes sure you don’t miss a great spot or waste time on dead ends. We recommend it to all of our friends and can’t wait for more guides to come out. Thank you for such a useful, educational app!

Great travel partner. We have used Just Ahead visiting National Parks for several years and have always been pleased with the performance of the app. The information content is very useful and informative. The technology is even better, the app cues up location specific narratives as you drive through a National Park. While a suggested route and your position is displayed on your device, you don’t need to follow a specific route, the narratives are played based on the GPS location where you are. The best way to stay informed while driving through a National Park.

Excellent travel guides. I have used some other travel guides before I discovered Just Ahead, but they are now my Preferred provider because of 1) high quality information 2) can be used in combination with music (guide silences the music when he has something to say) 3) does not require you to visit the points in any particular order (another guide got confused when we did not direction). I have used their guide for Big Bend, Grand Teton and Yellowstone. All have been top notch. I will use their Rocky Mountain guide next month.

Wonderful App and Great Customer Service. We purchased the Just Ahead app annual subscription. We used it the last few days and visited three parks in Utah. It is absolutely amazing, and gave so much additional information about the geological formation of the park, wildlife, various trails to enjoy, and gave us point by point directions as to where to drive and stops to make along the way. Can’t say enough good things about this app. The customer service is incredible as well. I had a little difficulty downloading the app to begin with and got immediate customer service help when I requested it. Way to go Just Ahead!! Five stars for sure!!

Fun, informative, AWESOME!. This app is amazing! Our first time using the app was on a trip that began going north on I-15, we were headed to St George Utah then on to Page Arizona. We loaded up the app just before Rancho Cucamonga, it began playing as expected on the points on the map. If you've ever driven to Las Vegas, you know the drive consists of traffic, boredom, and interesting looking places, but you probably don't know much about those places, until you load this app! It will refresh and illuminate the I-15, pointing out places you didn't know about and narrating your drive! We enjoyed the I-15 Guide so much that we downloaded the Zion Guide and the Grand Canyon Guide, both of which had points along the path to our destination. Things we might have driven by without even noticing were pointed out at just the right time by Just Ahead. If you are planning a trip to one of the national parks, or another place where Just Ahead has a guide, even if you've been there before, you'll want this app to show you the way, things you don't want to miss and points of interest that make the trip more enjoyable! Can't wait to go on the next trip with this app!

The best way to enjoy road trips through national parks!!!. I can’t say enough great things about this APP and shared it everywhere we stopped to enjoy scenery, hikes etc. It’s like having a tour guide sitting right next to you, telling you all about what you’re about to see, it’s history and/or to help you choose a route you’re about to take. If you’re approaching a tourist attraction, it tells you how far you’ll need to drive or walk to it and time you should allow yourself to explore it. It is beyond amazing and I get excited every time I share it. My radio does tune down so all I hear is the guide and in such a pleasant voice! Honestly, if I could give it 10 STARS, I would. I downloaded all the parks and look forward to going back to some of these places I visited without this APP to see what I missed! Do yourself a BIG favor when traveling to these parks and download this APP “first!” You will be glad you did! I truly hope more locations are added to this APP.

Highly recommended. We used this app during a trip to Yosemite in the summer of 2022 and it was fantastic! Not only did it provide us with excellent and interesting information but the best photo I took the entire week was due solely to the information provided in the app (when you hear that one of Ansel Adams favorite spots to photograph Yosemite is “just ahead”…it’s worth a stop). I wish I could give it 10 stars as it’s like taking a private tour with a park ranger but even better because it has practical information too (for example, it told us where the gas stations are which is super helpful when you have no bars). My only advice to users is to download it before you go and get the tour you want loaded. We were surprised how little internet access we had even outside of the park. Heading to Joshua Tree next and I know this app will significantly add to the experience. To the awesome app creators….please consider adding Glacier or a “coming soon” list to the app. Thank you for helping us make memories my family will cherish for years to come.

Your Personal Tour Guide. Used this in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons last summer. The entire family agrees that this app was one of the highlights of the trip. Seriously, we talked about this app along with the other sites after our trips was over. It enhances the value of your trip. Just open it up and drive. It will point out what you need to see and give you a slice of the history. You will have to buy the appropriate guide for where you are visiting but it is worth it! Enjoy. BTW, I read in another review about the issue of the music playing in the background. I deleted the music app during our stay, and then reinstalled after the trip. That solved the problem.

A personal travel guide in the car with you. A friend told me about Just Ahead shortly before we were to leave for Yellowstone. I quickly tried the trial, and was very impressed. With that, I bought a subscription as we were going to the Grand Tetons as well. I started the app as we were leaving to go to the park, where it did a great job of pointing out things that we would have otherwise missed, as well as some points that were not worth the time. All 4 (two couples) were really impressed with the quality and quantity of information provided. It really was like having a personal tour guide in the car with us, for a fraction of the price. We used it the entire week we were there. The only downside is the limited areas that it covers, it those are documented very well in the free trial. I will definitely buy another subscription if we visit another covered park next year.

Awesome App!!. This app made our trip! We knew what was around the next curve and could plan the pullouts and listen to history about what we were viewing. We would give a 110% rating! We’re over the top happy about our annual purchase. Some of the extras like stops of interest after leaving the park, history of the area/region/peoples all the things roadside signs don’t always tell. Still enjoy listening to the narrative at home as I look at the pictures taken. We will be traveling again soon and look forward to using our app again. There’s a great selection of guides not only of National Parks but other places of interest. Park maps didn’t always show pullouts & picnic/service areas but this app kept us informed of things “Just Ahead”.

Couldn’t have done it as well without Just Ahead App. We just completed a two-week 3600 mile road trip to six National Parks. Our success at hitting the important sites and learning about the history and science of each Park could not have been possible without the Just Ahead Audio Travel Guide. The Annual Pass is a great deal — many Parks for one low price. We affectionately called our guide “Stan,” who became a member of our traveling family. Goodbye to tour books and maps. Just listen to Stan as you go.

Absolutely the best travel app!. We tried the free version while on a trip to Big Bend in March and quickly purchased the full subscription for all parks. The information is so well presented and was exactly in sync with our locations. It was so much easier to just sit back, drive, and listen to what we were seeing instead of trying to read it in a guide book or other written source. We learned many interesting facts about the geology, history, flora and fauna and many other details of the parks. In addition the app worked outside the parks and made us aware of interesting sites we would have missed as we travelled between parks. We are amazed at how well it works in areas where there is no cellular data. We enjoyed it in Bryce, Zion and Petrified Forest on that same trip. In between areas we would listen to the previews (general info that is not GPS sinced)of the other parks on the app and got excited to plan trips to those parks in the future. We wish it covered the whole United States. Kudos to the creators for making this app!

AMAZING. I found a pamphlet for a free two days with this app. My boyfriend and I were visiting Yellowstone and didn't have any tours scheduled so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to download it, if it wasn’t all it was choked up to be we could just turn it off. After getting my free trial I got an email from the creator/owner (Greg which we called the tour guide from then on) we LOVED having this app. It was informative (fun stories behind lakes names etc), helpful (‘if you like mosquitoes and anticlimactic views turn here’), and funny (some great stories about bears trash and dynamite LOL!) We loved the app so much we’ve decided to use it for our next national park trips. We don’t think we visit parks enough to purchase the annual pass but we will definitely be using this again! Fantastic App that brought so much to our National Park Visits. We really enjoyed this App and were lucky enough to find it and download all of the parks we were traveling to before we started our trip. This app is way ahead of its time and I'm very excited about how it develops into the future. We visited Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Death Valley, Zion, Arches, Canyonland and The Rocky Mountain National Parks with the easy to listen to guide we nicknamed Ranger Bob. The app is incredible. Once you've downloaded the parks you turn it on and hook it up to your car Bluetooth then just drive. It follows the phone GPS and when you hit a point of interest it starts its story or advice we did not have phone or mobile data for most of our trip and it worked perfectly and accurately. It uses the phone GPS which must still work on your phone even when you have no mobile service. It covers loads and loads of interesting facts and history on the way to the park and out of the park that you'd just drive by and miss without the app. Inside the park it is soooo useful not only providing stories and information but advice about turnoffs and heads up before you reach road crossings or destinations. I can't speak highly enough about this app! The parks are amazing on their own but this app and our audio guide made it an indispensable tool for our trip. Try the free download - you'll see its worth every cent. A previous review said it was buggy. We did not find it buggy at all - but depending upon your Bluetooth and how it logs on and off your car may make it slightly more challenging for less tech savvy users. Even if you don't hook it to your car Bluetooth you can listen from your phone speakers. Great app - looking forward to our next park trip!

Brilliant but buggy. The content is fantastic and the app was a great feature of our usa trip! We had 4 friends on a Yellowstone drive and they loved the guide. Well worth the $ That being said the app has bugs and would start and crash and wouldn't work unless I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Hard to do in Yosemite with no 3G! I would recommend that it be installed on 2 devices with the paid content downloaded as bug insurance

Good Guides. Nice app. I downloaded for a trip through Joshua Tree National Park and the app works just as described. As we passed each point the narrative would come over the car stereo describing the things we were seeing. It included info about the history of the the park, camping and hiking and current uses. Interesting facts about the area are also included. While $30 for the guide might be a bit high we are glad we spent the money. It was great to have the guide for our drive through the park otherwise we would probably have missed a lot of interesting things.

Just awesome!. I was skeptical at first when I was given a 2 day free trial of this audio tour.... you know something free but it’s nit really the full thing but they want to get you hooked! Well, it was not a sample but the full thing and boy was it ever great as we drove through Yellowstone park. It gave out so much information that there are many things we would have missed without this data and we bypassed the ones that sounded not our cup of tea. Next we were going to the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore so we bought the season pass and are not regretting it! You should try this out.... it’s really good.

I SUPER hope the catalog expands rapidly and am looking forward to Olympic NP!

Awesome app!. We used this app for our visit to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and it was wonderful! It was like having your own personal tour guide. It’s much more economical than one of the guided bus tours, and also gives you the flexibility to stop and explore at your own pace. We got so much more out of our visit using this app than if we had just driven around ourselves with a guidebook. We will certainly use this again when we visit parks in the future!

Fantastic app!. We loved “Just Ahead” App. It would work seamlessly. Just download the guide to your phone and play on your car speakers. We felt like we had our own personal tour guide of the park. Make sure to turn it on well before getting into the park because sometimes there is great narration about surrounding areas.

Fun fun and more fun. Just used this app. It worked amazing. Kids enjoyed all the information. Just used it for Yellowstone and the Tetons. Trip would not have been as fun or as informational without this app! Worth every penny!! some friends of ours rented a box for their car and paid over 200$. Great App for the Self Guided Tour thru Big Bend!. This was our first time using this app and it was great! We are newbies to exploring the National Parks and this guided us expertly through the park with lots of interesting historical tidbits and suggestions for which routes to take including difficulty levels for the hikes and other valuable info. Highly highly recommended!!!

Just for back install on a second device, it is that good. We were RV camping two summers ago out west, someone at the AAA office told me about this app. We went to Grand Canyon/North Rim, Arches, Canyonland, Bryce, Grand Teton and a week in Yellowstone. This’s the best travel app out there, worth every penny. The best thing is the fact that you don’t need internet and cell connection. One time while we were in Yellowstone the app crashed, we were lost. We drove to Cody Wyoming which was 4 hours from our campsite. No problem, on our way back we learned a lot by listening to the app. Next, I am planning to use it in Smoky Mountains. If traveling as a group it may be best to install the app in two devices. Great app. Love this app during our most recent trip to Yellowstone highly recommend. Minor things that were annoying. Some of the ones you stop for don’t play when you stop. Try and press on it for playback still does not work. Pause button is so small hard to push it when driving. Maybe a simplified driver mode with a fat pause button? Lastly drive in from west Yellowstone phenomenal honestly the gold standard but where is that attention to detail for mammoth? Totally blow past a lot of facts from the north gate to facts about the spring to even just talking more about fort Yellowstone there is so much rich history. Overall app is great just wish there was more focus on attention to detail in other parts of the park. Great app though.

Wonderful app! Worth every penny.. We used the guides for Badlands, Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone. This is an awesome audio tour guide. So informative with interesting information, great suggestions and directions. We loved it! When we arrived in Glacier and there was no guide for it out yet, we really missed having the guide. An invaluable addition to our trip and so easy to use and play through the car speakers.

Amazing!. My husbands mother came to visit and we took her to the Grand Canyon. My husband said “I wish there was an app that did a self-guided tour.” So I researched it, and although this all was not listed on the websites I viewed it popped up as a suggestion. This app does not disappoint and what a wonderful time we live in to have this kind of access to education while you drive!!

Very detailed, get the season pass. I’ve used both Just Ahead and Gypsy. As someone who loves audio tours and loves extra information, I think Just Ahead is the best in terms of providing plenty of information about the parks, as well as pointing out all of the pullouts and trailheads available. Some of the Just Ahead tours a little pricey, but definitely worth it with the one year pass you can buy through the app.

Love this app. I first purchased a guide years ago, for Joshua Tree. I use the app every time I go, bringing visitors. It’s incredibly accurate and like having a tour guide with you. Amazing. I did contact customer service once for assistance with my account (user error) and they were prompt and fixed the issue within minutes so that I could use the app immediately. Very happy!

Great navigation and info. We used Just Ahead in the Big Bend area. It was wonderful to have history and info about the area we were driving through even when we didn’t have phone service. It also provided great navigation through Big Bend National Park. I would highly recommend this app! The only downside I noticed was that it wouldn’t stay auto centered on my location as I moved.

Best customer service an app features. Love the option for offline use as some areas of travel had less than suitable phone connectivity. Map within the context of the audio was very nice feature. Initial purchase posted on the app store, but was not reflected within the app, so I could not download my guides. Contacted customer service (on a weekend), and I received very timely and superior response and resolution for my issue.

Fantastic app!. I rarely review apps but this one deserves my time. We used this the first time in Big Bend, TX during the government shutdown. It was like having a personal tour guide who pointed out several things we would have otherwise overlooked. Additionally it provides a lot of historical information. Greatest Travel App I have Ever Found. This app is great! We downloaded one travel guide, Big Bend National Park. After we used it for this one park we loved it so much we immediately subscribed to the annual, full access and enjoyed the guides for four more parks on our trip! This one app for all of the parks that we visited cost us less than one guided tour… highly recommended!

Great way to enhance the parks app. We tried out the app on a recent visit to Death Valley National Park... very happy we did. The drive is beautiful but having audio to fill in details about the park made the visit so much more enjoyable. We decided to go ahead and order an annual pass to visit more parks this summer. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Best Money I Have Spent. This app is awesome! We used it in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and learned so many things we would have never known. It made navigating so much easier and we discovered places to stop that we would have passed by. The narrator is also funny! I have already recommended it to several friends. I wish I had known about it when we visited other National Parks in the past. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Makes our road-trips voyages of discovery. We love Just Ahead! We found out about it at Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park when someone in the parking lot was listening to it, and have used it on all our road trips since. The National Parks tours are great, but we also love some of the more creative guides like the I-15 tour we are enjoying right now. It’s a sad moment when we go someplace that doesn’t have a Just Ahead guide yet.

Informative, works great!. I enjoy learning about park history and sites more than my family, but every time we got in the car my wife and kids made sure we turned on this app. It strikes a good balance of providing information and silence to enjoy the drive. Even without cell signal in Smoky Mountains National Park, GPS activated the app at the right times so you could anticipate intersections, pullouts, and landmarks.

Beyond amazing!. We have enjoyed Just Ahead narrations for years - they really bring to life what you are seeing with stories of the history, places to pull over and venture out of the car and lots of details you would never know. Highly recommend!!!

Buggy App!. Let me begin by saying the content is great! Thoroughly enjoyed it. The app itself is low quality and buggy! A couple major things: 1. The design is with low quality images. Everything looks like 1990s design. Hard to imagine the image quality is low even on a small phone screen. 2. The title of the places of interest are cut off! So here we are in a new national park, trying to guess if we are going to Skull Rock or Cactus Garden based on the description. Once you click on a point on the map the top is sliced off. Very annoying and bad for planning. 3. The auto play feature worked for the first time then stopped working altogether. It won’t speak to us when the phone screen is locked and we missed a couple destinations because of it. I had to set my phone to never lock to keep the app working. It worked at the end with the hack but was nonetheless extremely annoying and a battery killer!

Great app with minor technical issues. This app completely changed my Yellowstone trip. We saw so much stuff that we would have never stopped to see on our own. We learned so much more about the park and had an amazing time. The price is reasonable for the amount of content you get. The only thing is there were a couple times we had to restart the app or my phone to make it work. Nothing that was a deal breaker but enough to dock a star.

Great app !!. I love this app - not only does it provide helpful & interesting information a points along the drive but it also is an excellent planning tool. You can listen to the audio before your trip .... or travel to all these places in your arm chair !! They have excellent, prompt, personal customer service as well. 5 Stars!

It’s better than nothing. I used this guide at Joshua Tree, Grand and Bryce Canyon. I found it to be glitchy. It would cut off the last word and it was too late in announcing upcoming sites. I was going the posted speed limit or under. Also, there wasn’t much added that you couldn’t find by reading the street signs. Also, you can’t go back and re-listen if you want to hear it again. It wasn’t really that great in my opinion.

You Won’t Regret This!. What a great guide app!! Used this in Arches & Canyonlands National Parks and it was SO helpful and works great. Way better than trying to do a bunch of research in the forums to try to figure out what to see and how long it’ll take etc. Super helpful info and just pops up as you drive along! Love it and will be using it on all future travels for sure.

My family used the Yosemite guide for our trip and it was so much more fun to know the back story about place names and the geological info concerning the formation of the areas we visited. Prairie Schooner Away. We live full time in our motorhome. Just Ahead is our go to app for travel in the parks. Far better than anything else we have found, with insights and scenic drives we would have missed - even the occasional snarky comment thrown in for fun! We recommend Just Ahead to all our friends. Annual subscription is worth every penny. Hoping for more parks to be added.

Just Okay. There are a lot of directional things in here - like “turn ahead”. I bought it more for the narration and information. Also, the app says you can listen manually if you want, without driving down the road, but that’s not true. Support told me they did a map update and took that feature away. So overall, it was just okay for me. Support only gets 1 star, too. They were quite slow and didn’t respond to my last email.

Used at Big Bend National Park and Loved It. My family recently visited Big Bend National Park and used this app. We got so much more out of the experience thanks to this app. It is filled with interesting facts and relevant information to your experience. Awesome that it works when there is no cell service-dice coverage in National Parks is al and spotty. Highly recommend!! Now you just need to include a selection for the National Mall in Washington, DC!

Fantastic APP. This is a fantastic APP. It gave us so much pleasure to listen to while traveling through Utah! I never write reviews but this one is so good that I really want to say something. The app tells you about nature, plants, animals, human history… who did what and much more - better than having a tour guide! Love the APP!

Tour app as awesome as the parks!. Absolutely brilliant idea and essentially flawlessly executed. This app has been our in-car guide in Yellowstone for 3 days & we look forward to using it in 5 more parks. Save your money buying tour books, this app has the guidance (extremely well-timed) , history, fun facts and key restroom, parking info you need. (We even named our guide “Geyser” since the voice is now part of our vacation family).

Death Valley Tour is No Good. I had used Just Ahead in Grand Teton and Yellowstone and had a good experience, but the Death Valley tour was really not good. I was disappointed by the fact that this guide doesn’t allow manual playing of any of the notes. It made it a total waste of my money and made me lose trust in Just Ahead. Also, the audio notes leave a lot to be desired. They tell you what’s coming up and give no explanation of why that might be an interesting place to stop. I’ve had much better experiences with Gypsy Tours.

Awesome!. We are so grateful we came across this app while in Yellowstone. It is like having our personal guide in our car everywhere we go. Love the voice and the type of information that is presented. We purchased the year option and turn it on everywhere there is a tour. I only wish there were more. I hope they keep adding and not just at national parks. Very worth the cost.

Great app!. We have loved listening to Just Ahead through our travels in Utah. It’s been so Interesting to get more information in areas of the park AND outside the parks. An Essential Companion!. We live near Yellowstone and have used Just Ahead multiple times- and loved it. However, that still didn’t prepare me for what a wonderful companion Just Ahead was for us during our epic trip that included Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks - with Interstate 15 in between! Everyone in the car raved about how Just Ahead “made the trip”. 5 stars just isn’t enough. Thanks, Just Ahead!

Just Ahead...greatest travel app!. We discovered Just Ahead on a recommendation of a fellow RVer when we were in Big Bend. We loved it!! It made our travels through that area so much better by learning about the area as we were going by. Love how you can listen to your own music, and then it will just come on as your driving by a specific sight! Since then, we have downloaded many more of the trips for our summer RV trip. A definite must!!

Just Ahead. We happened into this app while traveling in the Big Bend area of Texas and couldn’t believe our great fortune. Right on cue the app brought up site after site and discussed each. It even gave us warnings about rough dirt roads, etc that might give us trouble. It operates by a very accurate GPS. We love it! We look forward to using it in Arizona in a couple of weeks.

Awesome addition to our road trip!. What a great find! We are in a sprinter van with 9 (3 adults and kids ages 10-19)of us on a road trip from the Midwest to Montana. While the kids complained at first about a guided tour, they loved it and it added to much to our trip. So much better than just driving through for hours! Worth every penny and wish you would make city guides as well!!

Alive in death Valley. I downloaded the app last night while sitting at the death Valley Inn, we had a fantastic tour going Northwest to many of the famous stops along the main highway including the wonderful place where the 20 Mule team Borax was born, this was an incredible gift and I strongly recommend this application and I plan to use it at each of the major national parks that I go to, we hope they expand to smaller venues and continue to guide us through our wonderful world.

Even my 13 yr old loved this app. My family recently did a national park road trip of 7 parks in California. 5 of them were covered by Just Ahead, so we gave it a shot. It. Was. Great. We all enjoyed the stories and insights in each park. We even found a great place to eat in Joshua Tree NP that we’d never have found on our own. I highly recommend this app and can’t wait for our next National Park with Just Ahead.

Fantastic App. I LOVE this app!! Have used it on many National Park tours!! Very helpful tips! It is as if you have your very own tour guide sitting in the car with you!! One suggestion on the Kings Canyon is to add Grizzly Falls! I also like how you can now rent them for a year as opposed to purchasing! Once you are through with the American National Parks, perhaps you could add Canadian Parks--Banff, Jasper, etc!!!!!!!!

Joshua Tree pal. This guide was great ! In the way to Joshua Tree it gave history and recommendations and we loved the insight it provided as we drove through the park. They mentioned that you needed fuel, food and water multiple times so you could make sure you were prepared for the park with enough resources.
