Love it. I love this app. Of all budget apps I can find, this is the simplest one and that's what makes it my favorite. It's pretty much like having physical envelopes with cash. My only complaint is that I wish it could be shared between two devices so that me and my husband both can see the updated balances as soon they happen.

Love this app’s simplicity!!. Please don’t ever change with future updates! This was exactly what I was looking for. Very uncomplicated and easy to use. Easy setup. Easy to use! Only thing that would be nice is the ability to sync between devices.

Great App for keeping track of event costs. My Wife is planning Our Daughters communion this year. So I needed an app to keep track of total cost & deposits for the venue , DJ , Flowers , favors etc. This app handles My needs perfectly.

Awesome concept, could be executed better.. To start, is this app worth the $6/7 I paid for it? Absolutely not—MAYBE $3, but that’s a strong maybe. The concept itself is just way too simple to justify spending almost $10 on, but since it’s really only one of two of its kind, I bit the bullet and I will say that I’m still happy with the purchase. Now, the concept is perfect. It’s such a simpler way to track my spending since I do use actual cash envelopes, instead of using an expense tracker. I’m absolutely happy that they’ve made this into an app and that they don’t make you link an account to use it like a bank or however that would work (although, that’s a good idea for a separate app). The colors are weird, and I wish there were way more. Also, the app looks a little outdated. If you have people spending $6 on an app, at least make the software look modern. GoodNotes 5, Procreate, Notability, etc. were all about the same amount of money and this app doesn’t do even a FRACTION of what they do... Which brings me back to my first point, the price. Overall, it’s a great concept. I just hope the developers will listen to the reviewers, as we’ve all pretty much said the same things. When the changes happen, I will change my rating.

Easy to use. I’ve been using this app for several years. The one thing that did not carry over from the legacy version is the “stickie pad” for each envelope. That was where I kept track of items I’m saving up for and was a big help in curbing impulse spending. I could find another app to do that, but it was handy having it in the same app.

Great simple app. The only thing I wish the developers would add is some sort of balance feature where I could reconcile against a bank statement to see where I am off.

Clean Simplicity. Most other wallet or budget apps have layers upon layers of complication. That’s great if you need it I suppose. This app is so simple. Exactly what I need to manage envelopes and nothing more. Thank you developers! P.s. I like the new look and color options!

Get back in the lab.. I love this app but I miss the old apps ability to attach notes/descriptions to the individual envelopes. Also it would be nice to be able to search transactions across envelopes.

Virtual envelope budgeting system. I’ve used this app for years without one issue! Kind of like Dave Ramsey suggested envelope system without cash. Anyone in my family writes a check or used debit card, they send me a text and I put it in the app. I always know where our money goes and how much we have left.

Old School Method for Modern Times. If most people are like me they probably have their paychecks direct deposited and seldom ever have cash on hand. This app allows you to use the old school method of putting cash into envelopes for budgeting, by allowing you to put your digital money into digital envelopes for budgeting. It’s a simple yet effective method when you’re diligent enough to keep up with recording your transactions. There are some possible improvements that could be made. As other reviewers have mentioned it would be nice to be able to sync to the phone of a spouse so both can be on the same page and know where the family budget stands. Would be nice if you could have multiple “accounts”, if you have a joint account and a personal account. Or perhaps an account for cash or for credit card could be created. Even without these features though it’s still a very useful app to use when budgeting.

Really love this. This is one of the most helpful apps I have. I write the title and the amount that I want to eventually have in each envelope. I then go in and use the minus and plus sign as money goes into my own physical envelopes that I have. This is just one way to use this. I love that I can customize for my use.

Best Budget App Ever. I could not live without this app! It is the only way I’m able to manage my money easily and effectively. I can pull up the app at any time and know exactly how much I have to spend in any given category. It makes budgeting so easy. I could not recommend it more. I usually don’t ever buy apps—if they aren’t free, I’m not interested. But this? Worth every single penny.

So close to perfect!!. I have used this app off and on for a while! It works for me! The only issue is that my husband had to tell me what he has spent and I have to update him on what is left. If we could share it, that would be 5 stars.

Pretty good app. The app works better then most I’ve tried but it would be nice if u could add a accounts that the envelopes pulled out off so you could have multiple accounts that it would give the total for instead of just a total off all the envelopes

Very easy to upgrade from previous App. I love this app. I have used the previous app for years now. Just one complaint, I loved being able to mark my deposits as weekly, monthly, annually or just being able to make my own titles. Very minor, but I can get use to the newer version.

Great App. I really like this app and use it all the time. Living an envelope lifestyle has helped us stick to our budget. I wish there was a way to see activity reports. It would make it so much easier to find an error.

Easy and simple. I am really enjoying using this app to keep track of my sinking funds. It’s simple and not overly complicated. It does what I need it to, which is to keep track of funds in a virtual envelope. Very pleased.

Good and Want More. This is what I’d been looking for in terms of straight forward balance and seeing where things go as they’re spent and not at the top of the month. It allows for the manual check in as money is spent cause you input info on your own. I wish there was a feature to have an amount separate from the balance where you can track an amount being paid off. I’d like to deduct from the balance for debt payments while keeping a true balance of available funds and not a figure construed based on the debt amount. Also, simple additives like more envelop colors and an updated user face would make it more appealing. I’m about simplicity and aesthetics. I wish it were more inviting and appealing to the eye. I’ve only set my envelopes up so far but will get paid tomorrow and can start using it and see how I like the functionality as I begin spending.

Simple. It’s not fancy but it is easy to use! I needed something uncomplicated to keep track of my “envelopes”. I like being able to set them up and watch them grow. A couple items I think would make this perfect: the ability to sync across devices. And the ability to set a goal with a target date (if applicable) so each envelope shows my progress. It’s a little spendy for something devoid of features but it’s worth it for ease of use and functionality.

Solid 3/5. I bought this app because Envelopes 2 finally died. Without warning. I didn’t even know this version existed until I went to the App Store to find an easy, similar envelope budgeter (so uh... thanks for the A+ customer service, guys.) It’s definitely not worth $7, but for it is it’s great. EXCEPT that it’s missing two QUITE IMPORTANT facets that were in Old Faithful: Notes, and Auto-Budget. Yeah yeah, if you put the same amount in, don’t set a budget for it, blah blah blah. But if you don’t know how much you’re getting each pay, it’s SO MUCH EASIER to Auto-Budget and see what’s leftover for saving or spending! Notes alone would be useful, but without both it’s just crippling. For $7 I would expect full functionality and - as a whim- more than 10 envelope colors (two of which are nearly identical??)

👌🏼Less is more. Great app. Simple, to the point. Beautiful new dark mode. If you need to keep track of what you spend and what you have, but don’t want to waste hours entering data in overly convoluted apps, then this app is for you. Yes it’s $7. I don’t have a problem with that since it does exactly what it promises to do. I REALLY appreciate that I didn’t have to create an account, and that it’s a one time fee as opposed to a monthly subscription.

10 minutes in and I’m already disappointed. I just bought this app 10 minutes ago and I’m already disappointed. I was under the impression that I would be able to connect it to my financial institution. I can’t. A budgeting app does no good if you can’t connect it to your bank. I also can’t find any customer service on the app?

Awesome little app.. This is a great app I use with my family. I have an envelope for each which I use to keep track of money owed to each other. Deposits are money they owe me. Withdrawals are money they either paid back or I owe them. All I need but I desperately wish I could print out the transactions in each envelope.

Helps me stay on track. I rememberMy mother used actual envelopes for her budgeting. It was very effective and efficient. When I first saw this app I knew it was just what I needed. Although it is more complicated when you use a bank. I deposit all my money into the bank but a lot of it is earmarked for future expenses. I list in each envelope the amount being deposited and held for future expense. When it is time to pay that item I in my envelope w"withdraw” that amount out. The money is really in the checking account but show it written out and held in suspense. It sounds complicated but it is very simple

Great app missing only one thing. This app is much better than the last envelope app I used. The only downside it's not being able to have multiple users use the same instance. My husband has to text me each transaction so I'll know to enter it. Otherwise I think the app is perfect.

So easy!. I love this app because it’s just basic deposit and withdrawal if you’re not interested in typing a bunch of info each time you need to put in a transaction. I just wanted a digital version of the envelope system that was easy and FAST and this is it.

Easy way to track spending. I've used this app for a little over a month now and it has helped keep me from over spending. It has a clean appearance and is easy to use. When I make a purchase with my debit card or checking account I add the expense in the app right then in a couple seconds. Much easier than having real cash envelopes and dealing with that mess. First set up a budget and at the beginning of each month fill your envelopes with the categories you determine then record each transaction. I made it 26 days before running out of money, without the help of this app it would have been a lot less.

It leaves me with no worries.. Love the app. Its simplicity is beautiful, its ease-of-use wonderful, and its help file outstanding. A high school student could easily use it to start budgeting as soon as obtaining a job. Anytime I have to spend money I pull out my phone first; the information is at my fingertips in an instant and it keeps me on my toes. The memo feature is huge to me, and I don’t ever want to see it go. Only things left to be desired is the ability to share my budget with others and perhaps pick from a wider variety of colors (or even customize own?).

Simple design. This app may look too basic but really it is power. I tried a more complicated one but ran into issues with it not linking to the bank and it taking so long to enter your information. This on is really easy, but you have to know how to make it really work. This app wont teach you how to maximize, but if you have this knowledge already this is perfect. Even easy for teens to learn how to envelope budget.

Best Manuel Budget App. I’ve tried out dozens of budget apps and this is by far the simplest and easiest to use. Truly is just like budgeting with physical envelopes. Be warned, this doesn’t sync to your bank or automate anything, which to me is a GOOD thing. Manually entering expenses seriously helps so much to stay on budget and it’s far more dependable. It’s easier to train the habit than you’d think. Only flaw: no syncing between devices. My wife would like to see the budget on her phone, but it’s not possible as of yet. I still love it and strongly recommend it!

Best!. I couldn’t live without this app. I know down to the penny what I have and where it’s going. I also love how I can write notes about what I spent it on. Fantastic!

Missing most important features. This app is missing some vital features: SYNCING The most vital ability is for more than one device to have access to view the envelopes. Your data is landlocked to just your phone. I was sitting here trying to make a case for using this between my wife and I, but it is just not there. AUTO-RESET For repeating envelopes per month, it would be nice to be able to reset with a single button or process. This is definitely a high ranking feature that is missing in this version. NOTES Another missing feature that other reviewers have mentioned is the Notes ability. I used this some on the old version of the app, but I can see this is an important one. IMPORT I lost several years of data when I switched over due to the “Developer needs to update” messages. I bought the app hoping this might import the old data since I could not even open the old app to view it. Gone, baby ... gone. Without these and some other improvements, this app does not hold up to its seven (7) dollar price.

Did not import data after iOS 11 update. I had balances in my envelopes when I updated to iOS 11 the old envelopes won’t open. Says “developer needs to update” I paid for the new envelopes because they said it would import data. When I clicked to merge I got the message “developer needs to update” and it did not transfer my data.

Has the basic needs.. The reason I give this two stars is because if it’s very basic capabilities and the fact you’re paying so much money for something you can get for free with other apps. Another huge driver for the low rating is the fact that you can’t press one button and automatically fill your envelopes. You have to individually enter each amount into each envelope. So a person who has a lot of envelopes like say 20 envelopes this task becomes cumbersome. An auto fill or fill all envelopes feature would be nice.

Wonderful App!!!. I have spent countless hours trying to come up with my own version of this app. But then I found this app! It is absolutely amazing and is nearly exactly what I've been looking for. I have one idea that I think would be neat to add. I think it would be cool to have a separate page to log your deposits/income where you can divide your money into the envelopes so it's easier to see your deposits. As an extra bonus I think it would be cool to have another page of all your transactions to see your spending. These are just ideas I've had that I think would make this app more useful for at least me! Thanks again for making such a fantastic app!

Love everything except…. Would LOVE the ability to change the color of the envelopes using a color wheel instead of being limited to preselect colors!!

Simplified household/daily needs budget.. Very easy way to track my spending and stay on budget as I save for a substantial goal. Perfect to have on my mobile phone without a monthly subscription fee. It’s like having budget envelopes in my pocket. Thank-you to the creator for sharing this.

Game Changer. This app is so simple and yet exactly what I was looking for! It makes following the Dave Ramsey plan possible for me because cash just wasn’t working. Now I can follow the system, and have every penny accounted for. Only feed back is I wish you could move around your envelope order, and maybe a little easier to label you withdraws. Mint and EveryDollar have more features it are way more complicated and I couldn’t make them work for me. This is simple and is only a 1 time fee verses a monthly.

Excellent app. Had the free one which was just ok. This one has considerably vast improvements. Can put a memo in and transfer between envelopes. Can do a quick deposit on multiple accounts and manually select which accounts get the deposit. I still keep a paper budget but use this when checking figures and when out and about to see what I have left in each envelope. Didn’t mind paying the 7 dollars for it because I use it daily and like the improvement from the one that used to be free. Maybe in a future update can have separate envelopes grouped together. One for daily budget grouped together and another set of envelopes for weekly budget. Not necessary but I balance my budget weekly to make sure everything balances out and I am on track. Could call the groups of envelopes whatever fits the individuals needs. Separate files of envelopes so to say. Other than that works perfect for me. Keeps me in check on my spending.

This app makes it easy!. This app makes it easy to stay on budget! So simple to use, incredibly intuitive, and the support is outstanding!

Not as good as Envelopes 2. Had to go to this version with iOS 11. I don’t like that Notes are gone, and. I don’t like the color scheme of the app. Also couldn’t import data from prior version. This version just operates clunky and looks like crap. Bring back an iOS compatible version of the old version 2 please! Some apps are good enough from the get go. Do t know why developers always gotta tinker...

Love!!. I love this app! This app is much safer than carrying around large amounts of cash around. It helps me stay on track and it is VERY easy to use. I love the colored envelopes, the ease of depositing, withdrawing money, and the initial set up are all user friendly. Thanks ENVELOPES!!!

4/5. So far I think I’m going to be overall pleased with this app. The only thing is I would like to be able to change the deposit amount since it’s never the same for me. I may be missing it if that is an actual feature already.

One star short of perfect. All of the other envelope type apps out there are overly complicated for people who need help setting up a budget etc. This is the only app that is so simple and to the point… A digital way of putting money into envelopes so you can keep track of how much money you have left for each category. In my opinion the one and only drawback to this app is that it doesn’t sync cross devices. It would be absolutely perfect if my wife and I could login on the same ID and when one of us makes a withdrawal from an envelope it would automatically affect the other users envelope. If they would fix this one thing I would actually pay a monthly subscription for it.

Very handy. Loved it when it was free. Planned to drop it when it became a $7/ 1x purchase app BUT couldn’t live without it. I tried other apps however found this the easiest one to use to track money I was putting aside for specific expenses like savings, investing and tithing goals. Had to play around with it to get it to work for me but it does the trick now. For example, each pay check I use quick deposit to put money into my my main envelopes, including the main tithing envelope. I have other envelopes set up for the different charities I support with the name and amount I want to give in the envelope title. Eg: XYZ ($300). Then when that charity has a matching donation drive, I transfer money from the monthly tithing envelope to the XYZ ($300) envelope. Then I withdraw the money from the XYZ ($300) envelope and include a note (memo) saying something like 2020 donation, matching fund so 300x2=600 benefit. I can keep track of donations I’ve given and still plan to make easily. Similarly with investments, I transfer out of my main investment folder into envelopes set up for individual stocks and write a memo with the price detail. This allows me to see how much I have to invest and at a glance see how my portfolio is distributed without opening my brokerage account. Might be a pain if you had a ton of stocks. I don’t.

Good. I love this app! I really like the feature to add into it on a future date, I just wish that you can view only the current date. So if I were to add to my kids college fund for sometime next month, it would be able to have a mode where I don’t see that money in that envelope until that day comes.

Helpful. I've only been using this app for one pay period, but I'm seeing an immediate effect on how I spend! I like that I can move money between envelopes, and change amounts any time I want- I freelance, so my budget is different every two weeks. It's very simple, which is good, but I wouldn't mind a more modern aesthetic; I think the $6.99 is a little steep for the app, but am still happy with my purchase. The one thing I would really like to see is a "reset" option. I don't like seeing my last transactions from previous pay periods, or having to fake a withdraw to get it down to zero. Hopefully this could become an option for those who like a fresh start each paycheck!

Get it!!. This app is hands down my FAVORITE budgeting tool. I never use cash, so this helps me keep up with all of my purchases and make sure there’s enough left for bills. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!!!

Fantastic, but one suggestion. This app is perfect. Everything I was looking for, nice and simple. I am recommending it to my family and friends. It has all the features I needed. The only thing I would like added to this app, is a way to make quick deposits come from a particular envelope. When I get paid, I add it to a folder, and distribute the money from that folder among my other bills. So it would be helpful to have a way to have quick deposit just come from that folder. But other than that, it couldn’t possibly be better! 5 stars.

Fantastic Budget App. I have never left a review before but this app is more than worth the time to review it. I have been using the older version of this app for at least two years, it is very easy to use and simple. Exactly what I was looking for when scrolling through to find an envelope budgeting app. I also upgraded today to the newer version and it also will be something I will use on a daily basis. Love the new security features. Don't change this app it's very functional and worth the money. Great for people wanting to stick to a budget. Very user friendly, quickly update spending while on the move. 10 out of 10!

Love the simplicity. I’ve just started budgeting and don’t have a mind for numbers. Other apps are toooo complicated and take too long to use. This one is quick, simple and easy. Finally!. It’s taken me so many years of using complicated budget apps with so many useless features! I mean, who needs graphs and reports and spending trackers! Then I found this one. It literally does EXACTLY what I wanted it to do, no more, no less. I have permanent envelopes for my salary each week, and I also create temporary savings envelopes labeled with its purpose... it’s actually fun shuffling funds into them and watching the balance rise! The quick deposit feature is the best. Instead of being forced to set up an automated deposit like in other apps, I can dump my salary at the push of a button as soon as I see my pay in my bank account, so they always stay in sync. Worth the cost.

Great APP!. This app makes staying with your budget simple. The top shows the dollars that should match with your account statement. If you overspend on a category you can transfer funds between envelopes.

Best Cash Envelope Tracker. I recently started my journey with cash envelopes and was finding it extremely hard to keep track of all my cash deposits. This app has made it so simple and easy to keep track off all my deposits. So glad i found this app! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well designed and simple budgeting. I have used Envelopes every day since the original. Envelopes 2 got a lot prettier and user friendly. I choose this app over alternatives due to its sheer simplicity. I don't want charts, graphs, or syncing with my bank account. This is perfect and simple.

Good app no ability to share. Excellent way of keeping track of your money but if you are in a relationship only one person can utilize this app. This app would def be a 5 star if you could share the info (not just the app in family sharing) between users...

Great app. This a great app would make it a five star app is if it had iCloud syncing and a way to email your envelope reports to yourself

Too manual to ever be useful. I thought it would give an option to connect to your bank account and track real dollars from envelopes without having to manually enter every transaction you make. Bummer I lost $7 because this wasn’t clear.

Helpful...but PLEASE... I just had to restore my phone and go back to an iTunes restore...my other financial apps synced back to CURRENT with iCloud syncing...please enable that for this one too...having to reenter a bunch of entries. Thanks.

Love this app!!!!. This is the best budget app out there. It's simple and easy to use. It's everything you need to do your budget.

Helps making financial decision better. I am a waitress and I don't get a consistent paycheck. So I fill the envelopes as I go through the month. As I fill the envelopes, if I get ahead in my envelopes, then money goes to savings or things I want to purchase. Having a big picture on where my money is going and telling my money what to do and not letting my money dictate what I'm going to do is a goal for this year and this app is already helping with that.

Extremely helpful. The most successful budgeting tool I used was the envelope system. It was inconvenient to pull cash each week. This is the perfect solution and I stick to it even better than cash. The one improvement i wish it had was automatic quick deposits for each envelope on a weekly, every other week or monthly basis

Love It!. This app is exactly what I was looking for. I’m able to envelope budget digitally. What I like most is that I also created envelopes for annual budgeting (i.e. Amazon Prime, AAA, Christmas budget, and other annual subscriptions). Instead of getting hit with the big number once a year, it’s easier for me to divide the cost by 12 months, then put that amount in an envelope each month so when the yearly bill comes up, I’ve already saved the money.

One item shy of perfect. This app is just what I was looking for with the exception of one thing. I wish there was a way to have recurring deposits or withdrawals rather than having to manually add them. Some deposits and payments are the same amounts monthly.

Good Start 😊. Love the Envelope 2 app and its simplistic functions. I got really excited when this app got released and had lots of high hopes (I'll send a feedback email separate). Well it is a good start, but with a price tag of $5 this app could amp up a few more things beside the new look and passcode. Other features like quick deposit is a nice touch but oddly this app feels like it's missing something. Whenever I open Envelope 2 I feel really happy seeing my envelopes but when I open Envelope it feels very mechanical...like the app is missing a heart-sounds weird I know.

Nice and simple for the everyday person. Written prior: Nice and simple for the everyday person... but I’d like to see a few options added: -A history of every move the money makes (rather than having to tap on each and every envelope...) -A separate “tag” for each transaction. I’d like to have a tag for cash, checking, savings, PayPal, gift cards... or whatever I wish & be able to see the total of what is in each. It’s hard to put in any money but what’s in my checking for me, because the “total” number throws me off when I add cash into the envelopes. I can’t easily double check my work with my checking account’s amount. For example: I spend a $20 cash bill on groceries but have to use my debit to buy the remaining $2.49 from my checking. I want to know that I didn’t take $22.49 all out of checking. -A search feature would always be nice -A way to upload my data to the cloud/export to pdf... or something. Just in case something happens to my phone. Thanks for the great app! I’d love to see it continue to grow! 2022 additional notes: ditto to everything I said before. I’d still like to see more done with this app. Right now my top priority would be a login or some sort of way to backup to a cloud without backing up the whole phone. At a very minimum please update your app with new color schemes or something simple so people know this app is not dead. I use this app everyday and love the user friendliness of it. BUT I would still love to see more done with it!

Finally. This envelope app is exactly what I was looking for. I downloaded about 40 apps that were free or in-app purchases and went through each. They all were too complex of wanted reoccurring monthly payments. So after finding nothing I took a shot and paid for this. At first I was disappointed because it seemed too simple. However, once I saw the transfer function I realized I could create an income envelope and just transfer the money around. It would be awesome if the dev made a sweep timer(date) for each envelope into a another. It would also be sweet to have each envelope have a reset to zero on a date function because many of my bills are fixed and clear on a regular cadence. Awesome job, dev. Thanks. UPDATE: 12/9/19 I contacted the developer about wanting negative balances because of credit cards. He responded immediately telling me they are already support and I was just not applying my logic correctly. This dec is awesome and cares In addition I have a couple more weeks with this app and am extremely happy with my purchase. This app is everything the envelope method should be - simple and straightforward not trying to be something extra.

Simple and Effective. I love the simplicity and accuracy of this free app without ads! It’s the perfect way to have electronic envelopes...great for a simple budget!

Too expensive for what it offers and questionably Developer Tatics. That app works for extremely simple budgeting using envelope-style but you get no extra features that would make this app worth $7. Key things that are missing that other envelope budgeting apps already have: • iCloud syncing - so spouses and partners can share the budget • Ability to make different budgets with their own envelopes (example: business vs. personal) • Ability to do a quick "payday" budget that pre-fills the envelopes The other thing that bothers me is that this same developer used to offer an app called "Envelopes 2" that the developer has since killed from the App Store. It was also a paid app and offered almost exactly the same features. So now the developer makes a new app that costs more, has practically the same functionality, and the original supporters of the old app are left with having to buy this app. The developer should have done the right thing and updated the original app that people already paid for.

Great but need backup. Used the old one and love both! Keeps me on track with spending and saving!! I just wish there was a backup option!

Great money manager. This is a great way to manage my sinking fund: savings account. I highly recommend it. Easy to use.

Total Rip Off 👎. What is the point of this app??!! I can’t deposit any REAL money from my actual bank account. This is false advertising and I wasted $7!! I wish I could give it ZERO stars.
