Use to be awesome. This app use to be incredibly accurate. It was dead in with laser range finders to center of the green. After the last update it has been consistently 10-20yards off on both an iPhoneX and iPhone6. The watch app is almost completely broken now as well and it does not use the GPS on the watch as far as I can tell. The layout is broken but useable on the iPhoneX now. Hopefully these will get fixed soon! Also use the GPS on the watch! It makes way more sense. As soon as these are resolved I’ll change my review to 5 stars once again. Also as a money grab you may want to offer a set deal to just get high res screens one time fee. I’d pay $50 for high res but I don’t really need to track my play to justify a subscription.

Would be a 5 star app but…. There should be a way to have a one time payment to get rid of ads, so many apps have this and it’s a shame everything has moved to a subscription service now. It costs the consumer much more than it would normally and personally when I see a subscription service outside of music or tv I try to avoid it. I think at least the ads could be one time pay. I will say though the app is nice to use and intuitive the only thing I would change from a ease of use standpoint is the scoring. There could be a setting that you can choose if you want simple scoring (hit a plus or minus to add or subtract from par) or advanced (the current way the scoring is done which lets you track normal strokes penalties and putts) I like the premium lite. It’s a nice touch for those who buy it to have score tracking on their watch. Thank you for that developers! But yeah pretty decent app just wish there was a one time pay for the ads or even better the full premium experience.

Poor Apple Watch interface...requires turning off iPhone Bluetooth to get distances from the watch. Hole 19 App has great features but needs one final very improvement to perfect with use with Apple Watch. The app should have the option to permanently set the GPS distances to be determined from the Apple Watch versus the iPhone. Seems like a no brainer as unless you carry you phone in your pocket the gps distance is not where your hitting from and thus are well off the real distance. To make app use Apple Watch GPS you need to turn off Bluetooth which causes you to lose any access to iPhone Bluetooth uses (speaker, headphones etc.). Also, you need to remember to turn it all back on. I’ve gone back to my Garmin golf watch and cancelled my subscription until this is fixed. Developers, please add this option if you can. Thanks!!

Disappointed. I purchased an Apple Watch largely because the hole 19 app was available for it. I downloaded the free app and it worked pretty good for a while. Then I started having problems just occasionally. Hole 19 kept sending me messages trying to sell me the premium version. When they sent a discounted offer for the premium I thought maybe that would help with the problems, and I liked some of the additional features they said it would include. So, I bought the premium hole 19 and it has been a nightmare ever since. I download the course before leaving my house. Then, I start the app on the first hole. By the end of the first hole it asks me if I want to save “the round”. Sometimes I can get it to work again but then if I do get it to work again, the same thing happens again and sometimes I can’t get it to work again. I have not had it work for a complete round for a long time, and fiddling around with it trying to make it work during the round had caused some bad rounds because of the distraction and frustration it has caused. Then, I have do the embarrassing thing of asking my golf buddies my distance for each shot. I have tried to get in touch with the hole 19 customer service without success. I’m not sure they even have a customer service department or anyone there that can or will give me help. What a disappointment hole 19 app has caused me along with much frustration and embarrassment. What a waste of money, and enjoyment of golf.

First time using Hole 19 Premium. I used the app yesterday for the first time since upgrading to premium. I’m very pleased with the functions and info it provides. My only suggestion (so far) is for there be a way to “Track Shot” and input score using my iwatch; it was cumbersome to have to pull out my phone for every shot. Maybe there is a way but I don’t know it. Also, what is the difference between “shot by shot” function and scoring? I chose “scoring” but it seemed I also had the opportunity to track each shot. I look forward to learning more and using this info to improve my game.

Was good for a while. TLDR: constant moving of features behind paywall makes Hole19 not compete with other apps like 18Birdies I have been a user since May 2015 during the beta testing and spent time providing feedback and suggestions from the beginning. (Some they actually implemented) Through the years Hole19 got both better and worse. Better due to better performance but also worse because they would move features to the Subscription side. While losing features (and gaining ads) is annoying, I get that they are trying to compete with other apps for both market share and revenue. And while I tried other golf GPS tracking systems, I have always stayed loyal to Hole19. That changes now. In the latest release they removed Apple Watch score keeping and decided that you needed a subscription for it. This was something that was keeping them within range of apps like 18Birdies. So now other apps still have Apple Watch scoring for free but Hole19 doesn’t. It is now part of their “premium lite” monthly subscription. If they had asked for one time fee $5 to unlock it I might have done it. But $3 a month to do what better apps give you for free? No! Loyalty goes both ways. Anthony Douglas, you have strayed from your original concept and desire to help golfers

Needs a couple of features to be better. Like the app at its core. Needs ability to play 9 hole rounds. No ability to export score cards is an epic failure. Every decent app out there can export to csv. I have no idea why it isn’t there. On the good side, live leaderboard was fun. GPS and yardage calculation was accurate. Interface was convenient and easy to use. Unfortunately, the inability to export score cards is a deal breaker for our league. We are going to try to find something else.

Absolutely Amazing!!. I was having a problem with how a hole was being rated as far as par. I use an Apple SE watch. It kept showing that this particular hole was a 3 instead of a 4 par. I asked for help in solving the problem. In a matter of a couple days they had re rated the course and the problem was solved. There aren’t many apps that would work so quickly and effectively. They have great people doing a tremendous job. Keep up the good work. Needless to say I am totally happy with Hole 19. Debbie K.

Good but some issues exist. It is one of the better gps systems I’ve tried. I will suggest trying it. Here are my issues: 1) It can be slow at times. But this has only been noticeable not annoying. 2) It is almost always glitchie on launching at a course and getting connected to my watch. But it has always worked in time for my first tee shot. 3) This one is very annoying - at least one time during every round (except one noted below) I am not able to enter a score to go on to the next hole. It might be related to push notifications. Last round I activated privacy mode and was not bother by this problem. 4) Another annoying one is touch responsiveness on both the iWatch and the phone. Why is a mystery that needs solving. Scoring on the watch is the most noticeable. This is really annoying. Items 3 and 4 are a big deal in my mind. If these are fixed my rating would go to 4 or 5 stars. For now I am thinking of going back to my old Garmin unit that is not buggy at all.

Great golf app for all golfers. This app works great for players at all stages of their golf game. The yardage always seems to be very accurate. It has all of the courses around my area and I have never had trouble finding a course either. Very cool feature is that I can save my rounds/ stats and then log onto the computer later to review them online. Overall great app for any golfer. I also played a course that went through a major renovation and I emailed Hole19 and it was updated in less than a day. That was awesome!!

Pleasantly surprised. Let me first say that all the golf analytics and stats are neat and nice to haves, but my main reason for a golf app is the GPS function. But trying to find a suitable (and simple) golf GPS app for the Apple Watch can be quite a task, especially if you don't need all the bells and whistles, and don’t want to get tied up with fees for stuff you really don’t want or need. After seemingly endless searching on the App Store and the Web, and watching outdated You Tube videos, I found Hole 19. The basic GPS function that I want is simple and easy to use on this app. It’s also free, and doesn’t interrupt your game with annoying ads to get the “Pro” edition. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has scoring, number of putts and lots of other analytics like driving accuracy, GIR, recovery performance. Most of the apps that have this are expensive and require fees to view this data, but not this one. The app immediately identified my course. I measured its accuracy alongside my Garmin device and the yardages were pretty similar, with maybe a few yards difference. (Some of the other, more popular apps that I tried were off by as much as 20 yards!) And, it didn’t crash during my round, something that frequently occurred with those other, costly apps. So, I found a keeper and companion for my first Apple Watch! I rarely write app reviews, but this one deserved my time and attention. Love its simplicity, ease of use, accuracy and overall performance.

Good App. I find the app useful for distance, scoring and length of time to play a round. The stats are helpful. However, it would be great to be able the vary your start hole. My clubs rotates between the starting hole being 1 or 10. The app. Is not friendly when we start on 10. Thinks the round is over after competing hole 18 (which is the 9th hole). Also play different events throughout the season that are shot-gun starts, which the app. does not allow for. Finally, my course has four sets of tees and has for years, but the app. only has three not recognizing the senior tees, which play sometimes. Small issues, but in general the app. serves my needs.

Good, but a few annoying glitches. Overall this is one of the easiest Golf GPS app that supports Apple Watch that I have tried. My only issues are that sometimes when opening, the app just stays in the loading screen. The only way of fixing this is to reboot my phone (annoying). The second is when the phone and watch get out of sync. It’s as if the watch stops communicating to the phone. It keeps on showing yardage even when you have finished the round on the phone. You can’t stop this on the watch, the only way I have found is to reboot my watch. If these were fixed it would get 5 stars

Better Free Than Premium. This app is a great value as a free app. Not so as a paid one. I upgraded to premium via the Apple App Store. I am using an iPhone 11 pro max with iOS 13. I do get the upgraded maps, but when I select advanced scoring, I get no screen to input a score, either on the phone or watch. It just goes to the next hole. I’ve restored the app; I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, and restored the app with no success. The scoring does work with simple scoring, but I didn’t have to pay for the upgrade to get that! The app, phone, and watch are upgraded to the latest versions. Update: Hole19 Tech support reported that the advanced scoring features are only available on the iPhone, not the Apple Watch taking away Hole 19’s best feature-use on the watch. Paying for the pro version is a waste of money.

My Go to Golf App. Hole19 has taken a lot of distance uncertainty from the game and is a lot faster than lining up a range finder. I use it almost exclusively for distances, but I keep telling myself to start using its many other features. I also save my round each time to keep track of how often I play, but I’ve yet to record scores or shot tracking. On the two or three times I’ve forgotten my phone, I really missed Hole19. I’ve tried other apps but this is the one for me. I use the annual paid version and have no plans to change.

Improved feature. I have used several apps and have not changed since finding this one 3 yrs ago. Does everything I need it to and always works well. My two pieces of feedback are these: 1) I admit I'm ashamed that I want this however, if you can chose to add penalties while keeping score you should have a summary in the statistics area. 2) I like the idea of having the ability to choose different scoring games but think it would be cool for there to be more option and how to play them. Often my golf buddy's and I are wanting to play a different game but alway settle on skins because we don't know where to look. Thanks for the great app and keep making improvements.

Too many paywalls. I feel like most of the useful functionality is pro only. It was somewhat helpful with getting yardage but I don’t bring my phone with me and I would need more functionality on the Apple Watch to be unlocked for free. Ads were not too bad but not letting you log your individual strokes is a bit horrible in my opinion. It would be really nice to log my strokes from the Apple Watch as I play so that I can see the gps locations of each stroke on a map… but I don’t play golf enough to pay… sorry. If it was able to log strokes with gps on a map I would use the app more, share the app more, and view more ads while doing so. They should be figuring out how to get people to engage the app when they are not playing golf, that’s how you get more ad revenue.

Great App - Always Innovating!. I have been using this app for probably six years, if I recall. The first couple were the free version, the last for the premium subscription, and I absolutely love it. Yardages are extremely accurate, HD maps are easy to read, the ability to track shots and track clubs, has given me great insight into my game. The newest edition, preview course, allows you to review a course without having to actually start a round there. It’s genius, and I highly recommend it!

The most annoying app I’ve ever owned. I had the paid version of this app, but had to uninstall it completely. My purpose for the app was to use with my Apple Watch, but the app is unacceptably buggy on Apple Watch. It will not allow you to close it. If you close, it will reopen into a round that does not exist on the phone app and drain your battery. If you delete the app from the watch, it will reinstall itself and reopen. I had to uninstall it completely, and uninstall the phone app to stop it from taking over my watch. The app itself was OK for GPS yardages when using it, but the bugs (or horrible design) render this app unusable for me. I will keep looking for a better option.

Really good Golf App. I have really come to like the app and how it improves my game. Couple possible changes would be to increase font size when get recommended clubs and distance, and to to make fixing mistakes when marking shot by shot easier. When using IPhone 12 I can be difficult to readily make out the information without having to put on reading glasses. At time when using shot by shot mode if you miss a stroke somewhere or select the wrong information making a correction can be very difficult.

I love this app!. I’ve been an avid golfer most of my life and now I do UI design professionally for a large software company. I have to say, this app makes me so happy. The design is great, it works flawlessly, the GPS is wildly accurate. I honestly think, if you play golf, this is a MUST HAVE APP!! I have so much fun looking at my rounds when I’m done. You really do learn so much about your game after your round! My only suggestion is make it easier to share your scorecard with friends. I didn’t post/share after the round, but want to forward to friends later in the evening and couldn’t find an easy way to do it. That was a bit surprising. I also wanted to see my full scorecard in landscape view and didn’t see a way to do that either. Otherwise, you all have thought of everything! Great job!!

Great app watch features needed. I have been paying for the app for a couple years now. I love the app, great UI, love the golf data, great features on the phone. The watch is limited. I love playing with the watch over the phone in hand. Currently the app only has score and the shot by shot would be awesome to add that insight. Or at the very minimum when using the scoring feature. Tracking from the box and from last shot automatically like on the phone would be a huge improvement.

Accurate, but can be difficult to use. Great app works very good on the Apple Watch, distances are very accurate. Course graphics are great. The track shot function is not very user-friendly and I can’t find any videos or instructions on how to use it. If you’re not looking to track shots, this app is great. I would love if they add the automatic track sensor on the Apple Watch like some of the other services have. This is such a great feature because you can track your shots automatically then view your entire game afterwards. It is a much needed addition which would make this app perfect.

Good not great. To be clear, this rating reflects the app and it’s functionality. It’s a shame that you can’t use the shot by shot feature from your watch. Don’t see how hard it would be add a prompt to select your club used, lie, etc., as you stand over your ball each shot—aka mimic scoring pop up screen, works beautifully! I’m a minimalist and never going to take my phone out to do this. It’s annoying when you can do all the scoring from the watch for free, but pay for premium and it’s essentially the same functionality. I don’t want to lug my iPhone around in my pocket and not be able to separate from phone/outside world just because I want to get a little advanced analytics.

The Apple Watch version just got better. I think this will be my 3rd season using this app. I started using it because it was compatible with my Apple Watch. At first it was terrible. I almost gave up on it. The support people even told me at one point to wear my watch upside down so the screen would stay open to the Hole19 app. That was super annoying. But I’ve seen you work out the kinks and it just keeps getting better. Just the other day I fired it up and the watch version has a whole UI! (User interface for you non-tech folks) I really like it. I do pay for it and I do think it’s a tad expensive since it has to be renewed every year. I paid for it again this year because I like it. Would I pay more? I doubt it since there are a couple of other good options out there.

Great pics of fairways. You can use a slider to get yardage to the place you want to target. The phone goes black between holes to save battery. You can change iPhone settings so you don’t have to reenter password by going to Settings>DisplayandBrightness>Autolock>Never. Just remember to turn autolock back on. I subscribed $2.99 a month so I could track my strokes from my Apple Watch plus distance to pin relates to my watch and not my phone in the cart. Very happy with this app so far. Their tech group was very responsive with my questions.

Great app!. Tried several apps and this one is the easiest to read and has just the features I need. Having the overview of the hole is excellent for playing courses that have blind tee shots or if you’re not familiar with. Support has been excellent even though I’m still using the free app. It took a couple of updates for it to work regularly, but now it fires up every time. Kudos to the team. Even though I don’t plan on getting the premium version, I still would like to send a donation for a great app!

4 years in…. This app is awesome. Been using it for some time and find it to be accurate and easy to use. I especially like the ability to zoom in and get a distance read from a tree/water approach shot. I have an Apple Watch and leave my phone in the cart and can easily glance at my watch to get distance. There are additional features that are available to upgraded accounts that I’m not too familiar with. Bottom line is that it’s a great app and works well.

Almost perfect golf companion. Been using this app for a full season now. Love the Apple Watch interface. Easy to use, very accurate, and does not slow the game down (like pulling out the range finder all the time). This app is a ton of value for the money. I would absolutely have rated 5 stars if not for for the recent upgrade … for some reason my watch interface is bouncing all over the place … switching holes - seemingly randomly. I have to manually move back to the proper hole quite a bit throughout a round. Nothing is touching my watch that would potentially simulate movement in the app. Seems like it is simply happening through my swing motion. To the developers… is this a known issue? I played over 100 rounds last year on the previous version and this did not happen once. Any guidance would be appreciated. Other than the recent issue I have encountered, I totally recommend this app for any golfer who wants the benefit of a great golf companion app that has a simple design that doesn’t take your focus off the game.

Like the flexibility. I’m a casual golfer that has played since I was 8, but never competitively because other sports got in the way. At 48, I am enjoying golf with my kids and buddies, and actually playing the best golf of my life, breaking 80 and sometimes in the low 70’s all year so far. At times our outings are practice rounds for an upcoming summer league or HS match with my 18 year old, where I haven’t played before. The maps, with the ability to zoom and move the aiming point around really helps with shot selection and golf course management. The ability to clearly see how far it is to a dogleg or to reach/carry a bunker, and then how much you will have left to reach the green from there has changed the way I approach the teebox. It’s much more than getting a number from your watch. I grab my driver much less than I used to, in fact shot +2 on 9 holes last night and only grabbed my driver 3 times, because I knew exactly which shots I needed to hit for GIR before I ever walked to the tee. I’ve been using Hole19 for years as a GPS yardage function and find it consistent, accurate and flexible.

Premium distances now good. Had the free version for several years and loved it. When I paid to upgrade the gps distances were consistently 10-15 yards short. I only paid to have the hole advance automatically but now I can’t depend on the distance readings. Won’t be renewing it. Update—After reviewing the entire app and all the settings I discovered that the distances had been changed from yards to meters. While I don’t believe I made this change I can’t be sure. But after changing back to yards the distances are now back to being very accurate. The developer responded to my post wanting to help resolve the issue which is very good customer service. I now love the app again.

Used to work. I played 18 rounds using the App, then suddenly it stopped working. It freezes, and gets stuck won't advance to the next hole and then says I haven't finished a round. I delete the round I just started and it gets stuck again. Disappointed! Ok, I'm trying it again and so far it seems more stable. One thing that I think should change is this: I play a lot of 9 hole courses, but play them twice for 18 holes. The app only shows them as 9 holes. I have to put in each round of 9 separately. It would be nice if you had a choice of 9 or 18 on the 9 hole courses. I just got an Apple Series 4 watch and the app does not function on this model. It worked in the Series 3.

My fav app. Honestly, I tried a couple other apps and one killed battery and the other didn’t keep score on my watch. Yeah the distances aren’t perfect when using the watch but small fish. I’m sure there are really expensive methods that are foolproof. Overall an excellent app. Really smooth, easy to use, and does what I need it to do. A couple pointers for the Hole19 team! I’d love to have a DARK mode option on my phone. Also, try to enhance your bag features. Think actually selecting your club make/model. Other apps do it and you guys should have that as well. That way if you get a new club you can see which one hits further. Overall love it. I bought a year of their top level subscription and this is the first review I’ve ever left so that should say a lot.

Needs work. A few aspects of this app are good. It syncs perfectly with the Apple Watch, better than 18 Birdies does. It calculates Match Play scores easily BUT you have to manually enter your opponent’s score because even if you are both using the app, it doesn’t sync the two players the way 18 Birdies does. That’s terrible. It’s also a pain to find and select the course you are playing. Although I have saved several courses, they never show up and the GPS of the app doesn’t quickly find the course you are on. Also better on 18 Birdies which does this instantly. There is no option to contact support, something 18 Birdies is great at. So between the two apps, that one wins.

Great app. I have used this product for a few years now. I liked it enough to upgrade to the Premium edition. Typically use it twice a week in conjunction with my Apple Watch. I haven’t had very many issues and it works well. I mostly use it to see the overall hole design, distances and tracking my score and I like that aspect better than some of the other apps on the market. When I have had an issue like recently with the Apple Watch their support team was very responsive. Is it perfect? No as there are still little things that I would like to see in the App but overall, I really like it.

Great product and customer service!. I was having trouble with the GPS while using this app on my Apple Watch. I left a 3 star review and a couple days later received a message from the developer. They worked with me to change some settings on both my phone and watch and now it works great!! In fact I just shot my lowest round of the season using Hole19! The recap emails I receive after each round are helping me to understand my game better and I’m gaining confidence in my club selection. Thank you Hole19!!

Now great!. Ever since the Apple watch came out, I have been searching for a usable golf app that was fast and accurate enough to use on the golf course. Hole 19 has now fulfilled that search. Although previous versions did not perform that well, the current version is VERY good. Loads and updates distances as fast, or faster than other golf apps on my iPhone 6; is very accurate. It is a very easy to use watch golf app. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars, yet, is it doesn’t automatically advance to the new hole, so I have to remember to do that. I believe that functionality is coming. If you are looking for a quick, accurate distance golf app for the Apple watch, this app is for you. Battery drain is minimal on both the phone and the watch, typically using between 10-15 percent for 18 holes. Update: better than ever. Full functionality now. Many features I don’t always use, but there if I need them. Watch updates immediately on yardage’s.

Won’t work 9 times out of 10 on Apple Watch. This app rarely syncs up to the Apple Watch Series 2 or 4. Most of the time it says to start a round on the phone even after it IS started on the phone making it useless on the watch. On the rare occasion the watch does sync and the app actually works, once you have completed a hole and input your score, the “next hole” button will not work until you have hit in 5-10 times. Nearly each time this results in jumping forward 4-5 holes and having to ope the phone back up to select next hole. I wanted to like this app and use it without carrying my iPhone XS Max in my pocket. There are way too many issues with it and it will just frustrate you more than it will ever help with yardage. Don’t waste you time or money.

6 years strong!. I downloaded this app long before the Apple watch was even a thing. I wanted yardages, track my score and just keep data as much as possible. Be ready, you might realize just how bad at putting you really are, lol. This has been a strong app for any golf course I have played. I’ve only stumbled across one golf course where they changed their back 9 layout so, well it was a guessing game - old school golf. Now having the Apple watch, life is easy. Just a quick glance for back/middle/front of the green and you’re good to go. I golf in some extreme hilly terrain so I adjust that yardage myself. The best part, when apple updates, so will Hole 19! It might take a little bit but they are usually quick on feedback and will have your app up and running in no time. Just download it and forget everything else you’ve ever tried.

Almost what I need in a perfect shot tracker. I love this ap, it has 99% of the courses I play. Early on I had no problem tracking my shots using my iWatch, but even though my iWatch is relatively new & is updated, inputting my shots into my watch has become difficult. For example: I go to add a shot, it delays... I wait, I add another and then both shots are added. Another example: I will be starting on a hole and have one shot in, then suddenly it has me on the next hole. When I am golfing the last thing I want to be doing is fiddling with my watch. I am hoping they can fix this.

Decent but Lacks Map Detail. I used the app the first time today and decided to try their 14 day free trial premium subscription. There’s a lot of great features in the premium edition, but I was disappointed in the map detail of the app. It was under my understanding that the maps are more detailed in the premium edition. The maps looked fuzzy and that was my only downside. I’ll continue using the app to get a better user experience. Hole 19 works great with smart phones like the Apple Watch. Better than 18 Birdies. The app loads right up on my Apple Watch as soon as I start around. That was the biggest highlight for me. I’ll update my rating if I find it more enjoyable than the three stars I’ve submitted.

Great app focused on golf. I have had Hole 19 for a year, and as my subscription was coming up for renewal I decided to try some other apps. Hole 19 was the clear winner. It is much simpler and more focused on golf. The milestones in the app are golf milestones, not “are you using our app?” milestones. Things like lowest score, fastest round, longest course, best hole, etc. The shot tracking is accurate and simple to use. Off the tee, you select “track from the tee” and then afterwards, simply track “from my last shot”. The statistics do the work for you, automatically figuring out if you hit the green in regulation, up and down, etc. The one part I wish would be improved is the “my bag” function, where you list your clubs and the distances. It gives set selections, and I wish I could just enter what kind of club it is and what the loft is, instead of having to choose from the list. This is especially (actually, only) annoying on the wedges. It lists a bunch of lofts. I think it should name clubs (such as pitching wedge, gap wedge, lob wedge, approach wedge, etc…) and then allow you to enter the loft. So, I deleted the others apps and renewed my Hole 19 subscription. Definitely think I made the right choice. I’ll change my stars to 5 once they fix the bag function. Happy golfing, folx.

Great app. I've been using this for a couple of years, and I think it's awesome! I've played a couple of courses that weren't on there, but when I contacted them they added it with no problem. If you play a course and something has changed like the par of a hole or it's just wrong, let them know and they fix it quick! Awesome app and great people working to keep it that way! Don’t like how they’ve taken away the shot tracking and made it available for premium only. It was one of the best features of this app.

The BEST golf App. I’ve been using this golf app for well over 5 years now. I was a professional caddie for 20 years and when I first got an Apple Watch I was searching for something I could use, tried many different apps and this app is by far the best. It has come with many challenges but the company from the start has listened to its users and has responded. I wasn’t one of those people that was giving feedback but was reading the feedback and watching this app progress and I can wholeheartedly say this is the best app available for the serious or casual golfer. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This app is a hole in one. I’m a skeptic and this is the first review I’ve written about anything. I tried the App and it worked very well. Then I bought the Pro version, or whatever they call it, and it is super. I can start my round on my phone and then get all my distances from my watch. I have to lay up on two holes and the flyover screen works perfectly for my landing distance. Other than those two shots, I don’t need my phone at all. Then it keeps track of my score and my phone and I can see my stats on my phone when I’m done. I like the shot-by-shot scoring but it is much easier if you remember to put each shot in as you go along—which I am not good at. My only wish is that the color for pars and bogies were reversed. A bright happy blue for bogy and a gray so light it’s hardly visible for par just doesn’t seem well thought out to me. But everything else is great. I highly recommend this program and the upgrade for all the extras. Try it!

Great app and amazing support!!!. I have use this app at some top ranked courses and it is a fantastic app the GPS is very accurate and it has a lot of information. But recently my 8 old son decided to learn and we been playing at a crappy little nine hole course at which the course was not on this app I emailed and requested they add the app with little to no information they added The course they went far above and beyond to help me and my son and I am extremely impressed with the support and the kindness of the people that run this app I highly recommend you download and use super easy to use and will help your golf game thank you!

Free app is great, needs to improve watch premium. This app definitely has more/better free features than GolfShot but the premium version leaves much to be desired. They market that Shot Tracking works on Apple Watch but after starting & stopping, there is no way to save it. You can continue from where you stopped (unpause & continue adding distance to same shot), reset (sets to 0), or cancel (which won’t save). So if you want to shot track, you have to keep pulling out your phone. No response from support on my email & generically received a “our support is busy” response, so don’t hold your breath getting a response from their support. If you just plan to use the free version, it’s great. Do not recommend paying for the service as it stands though.

Very good golf app. I use this on my phone and watch (would prefer stand alone on the watch, but I get the issue). Two issues with the app: 1) every once in awhile, the app stops working on the watch and the watch goes to the home screen. I have to find the app and open it again. I don’t have to start a new round, but it is incredibly annoying. There should be a setting that forces this app to have priority. 2) When you start a round, it should automatically enable Do Not Disturb (or give us an option to do that). Very embarrassing when I get a robocall while someone is lining up a birdie put (or triple Bogey in my case)

Range watch VS smart watch. When I was shopping for a range finder, I discovered that I could purchase an Apple Watch for not much more and download this app FOR FREE. I’m so grateful that I pulled the trigger. This app gives me everything I need as a beginner, and my more experienced BF always asks for my app details. Not only can I get front/back/center. But I can use my phone to map the course. It even allows me to see the yardage for a layup on a dogleg. I love it! I also like that I can share my scores with friends. It adds a nice friendly challenge, even if you don’t get the chance to play together.

Best Golf App. This is the best golf app and 110% better than 18Birdies app. Hole19 is simple (few clicks and using a scroller to choose your hit) and intuitive to any golfer. You can edit our shots on the spot while walking to your ball (18Birdies app does NOT have this feature until you finish each hole) Overall I rate this a 10 out of 10. I've been using this over 2yrs and it worth getting the Premium to keep track of your shots and history.

Great app to track your progress. I’ve been using Hole19 for a few years now and it’s great to see my game improved tremendously. I use to shoot over 100 and now it’s great to see average of mid 80’s. Hope to achieve under 80 soon. Thanks Hole 19! 😉👍🏻

Great App. I love this app, have been using it for years. Only suggestion is to show the hole picture and club selection feature on the Apple Watch face, other golf apps do that. Really love this app though, definitely worth the subscription

Simple, effective & great asset. I’ve been using the app for a couple of years for nothing more than recording scores & confirming shot distances. It’s quick, simple & effective, particularly when distance markers on sprinkler heads seem to be a thing of the past. 👍⛳️

Minimal Features Unless You Subscribe. I’ve been using Hole 19 for 5 years now and have watched as the developers slowly switched almost all of the features to a subscription requirement. You can no longer use GPS to track your shot placement or even score for match play. Overall a great app with loads of features...only if you’re willing to play. For basic features there are better apps around. I’ll be switching away from Hole 19 as too many things are subscription only

Maps. I have found the GPS useful and overall the app has worked for me. The maps are not always up to date with correct indexing so be sure to score your paper card and not rely on the stableford points feature

Awesome App. Have been using the app for a year and a half, and use it every time I play to plot rounds. I thoroughly recommend it. You can use the app as a GPS distance aid, with the ability to plot to various points on the course. Or, you can just input your round details after your round to keep a record of how you played. You can attach photos and share rounds with friends - they can see for themselves exactly how you played! There are some limitations though. You are not able to alter the pin location on the greens. This means it is difficult to fully asses your approach play and chipping as you can't determine where these shots finish in relation to the hole. Also, when selecting "penalty" the app adds one stroke to your next shot, and you can simply plot your next shot from where you drop. But, there is no option to account for a stoke and distance penalty. This then makes it looks like you have chipped out at a bizarre angle if you plot to where your second ball is played from. If you are interested in recording details of your various rounds of golf then I believe this would be a very good app for you.

Courses not updated. Really like this app except that my home course changed to 4 gender neutral tee sets about 3 years ago and this has still not been updated. The Stroke Index are also all wrong as a consequence. Makes me wonder how accurate any other data is

Fabulous golf app. I have just started using Hole 19 and found it very user friendly and super useful. I can accurately see the distance from my ball to the pin. Would highly recommend

Accurate and easy to use. I have been using the Hole 19 app for years now. The new update that works with smart watch is great! I always find it to be accurate and doesn’t kill my phone or watch too quick.

Tops. Great little app. Beats all others I’ve tried. The paid version is well worth the money if you play regularly. I find the round review feature so useful. You can manually place or correct your position if you forget in the heat of battle (or frustration). The free version is just as useful for tracking and scoring if you can’t bear to part with a few dollars.

Love using Golf 19. The best feature is being able to see the distance to hole simply by checking my smart watch. No range finders or other apparatus required. So simple.

Keeps turning on with Apple Watch. I have used this on iPhone 6+ for years and it is great. However, I just bought an Apple Watch and, after you finish a round and close the app (on Watch or iPhone), it then automatically reopens the app again on the Watch. No matter how many times I close it, it still reopens on the Watch. Only way to stop it is to uninstall the app from the Watch after each round, and then reinstall. Please fix this bug as you have a great product. Thanks

Weird workout issues. Since I upgraded to a series 6 watch, running this app triggers a lot more than normal exercise to be recorded. Probably about 4-5 times normal. I have not given the app any permissions to write health data. The app is great and works well for distances but this is very annoying.

Great App! Easy to Use!. Awesome app. Great to use if you’re a beginner or an advanced golfer. More insight obviously will come with the in app purchase, but for $60 AUD it might be the cheapest method to improve your overall game! Would highly recommend!

Great app easy to use. Love this app as it works on my Iwatch as well as my iPhone. It is easy to use and gives me all the information I need to improve my game.

Aussie Course Maps little patchy. Great app mostly, but Aussie courses that are being changed (e.g. Craigieburn) can be a bit behind. Also very bad on battery if you use Apple Watch gps. But devs very responsive.

Pinjarra golf course score card. The app is really great. The only problem I have is that I can’t find away to amend the score card. For Pinjarra golf course the stroke indexes on the app are different to the club score card, and also white tees are not a possible selection. It would be great to amend these as it can affect actual net score made.

Great App - Just heavy on the battery. I arrived at golf and realised I had left my Garmin GPS at home. So I downloaded the 19th Hole App in the car park. Very easy setup and simple to use. However drained the battery on my iPhone XR from 100% to 0% through 18 holes - walking (4:15). Is there a tip/trick/hack to save battery whilst using the app?

Great app...but. I had & still hold great hopes for this app but there's 1 thing I just can't overlook. That is, despite rebooting both my Apple watch & iPhone (multiple times) the wake up function isn't working properly. That is the Watch app shuts down between shots so instead of raising my wrist to see the next distance I have to relaunch the watch app. Saying to press the side button, go-to the apps screen and press the Hole 19 app may not sound much but if you're doing it constantly you concentrate more on the app than your golf round. Beyond frustrating. The App support team are involved and appear responsive... Time will tell if they can resolve it. I won't buy the app with this bug and will go back to my old golf specific watch. Settings are as per recommendations... If this isn't common try the app a few times first. Otherwise I love how the app works and integrates with the Apple Watch.

Easy and accurate. Love this app. Got to the point where I won’t play a shot without looking at my watch

Difficult to use. I could not record my score after the hole was completed. It didn’t even give me an option. By the 3rd hole I had to use another app. I have read the how to use but it looks different then what options I was given during the game. When I hit the arrow on the bottom right hand side it just took me to the next hole… I’m confused, have I done something wrong? Eg: clicked the wrong type of game? Shot by shot?

Great Support. Been looking for a golf app with my golf cause here in Australia for a while now, noticed that they have a mapping request email, so I gave it a go thinking I’m wasting my time but within 3 days they had my small town course on the app. Fantastic, highly recommend, now to see how well the app works, which I’m sure will be fine.

Need to improve end round solution. Overall a good golf app. However, if you forget to end round on both mobile and the watch, it will keep running until your watch battery dies. Please improve the round ending solution.

Good Product. Have downloaded this and seems to work fine on my Apple Watch series 4. Only issue I have is does not auto advance the hole. Despite my subscription saying I should have that function. Still a good product

Quality App | Recommend!. I have played 97 rounds of 18 holes with this app. It’s high-quality, featuring accurate on-course GPS and a simple user interface for scoring. Would like to see a few more features on the free version - who wouldn’t?! Might be time to upgrade to Premium once I hit 100 rounds :)

If you free version user, do not upgrade to premium. I downloaded the map during the free version and upgraded to premium. I have no choice to continue using the low-quality maps I downloaded. Hole19 say that high resolution map will be automatically downloaded as soon as wifi is connected but it doesn’t. Also deleting the app and reinstalling it doesn't help.

No way to disable crown. It is very frustrating that if I bump the crown while playing a shot it either opens Siri or takes me back to the app screen. Is there a way to disable the crown from the app settings???

Almost there. I think this is a great app! Whether free or paid. The only thing I find which is a bit limiting is when using with an Apple Watch you only get distances front, centre and back. If you could either pull up the map or get distances to hazards and bunkers without having to reopen the app on the phone that would really make it a true all-rounder and standout over other apps.

Great app for hardcore golfers -Premium. I use the premium version of this app and it's hands down the most comprehensive app with great features, premium maps and quick to update. Has a social media element to it as well which I like where you can post pics/comments on the courses and see who else has played that course. Highly recommend

Fantastic. Excellent app. I prefer it to Golfshot purely because the Apple Watch features are more extensive. One thing I wish it had though, similar to Golfshot, is an image of the hole you’re on and a visual representation of your distance. If it had this I wouldn’t have to touch my phone during play but unfortunately to get a layout of the hole I still have to refer to my watch. If you add this my review will be a 5/5!

So much in one little app!. I started on the free download when I started golf to start getting an idea on distances. I’ve now subscribed so I can keep a check on my scores using my iWatch and they breakdown of each round with added collection of recording your best distances with each club used. There is still so much more to use on this app that I haven’t discovered yet! Regular updates and new looks is great over the past few months and any problems I’ve had get dealt with promptly. Feels they haven’t just taken my money n run.

Needs better round review. All in all a good golf tracking app. What’s lacking though is the round review. Once you’ve submitted a round, you don’t get to view the tracked shots on a map, the stats are also quite limited (no per club stat for instance).

Apple Watch glitch. I used the app on my Apple Watch last weekend and for some reason I cannot close it on my watch and the course keeps coming up on the watch face. I have used it for a couple years without this issue and it’s very frustrating. I ended up deleting the app and resetting my watch and phone and that worked. Not sure however if this problem will happen again next time I play golf??

Great app for tracking your game. Works great for tracking your stats and scores, the premium version for me is a bit expensive so I'll stay with the free version, and have to do a little maths to get overall stats but all in all a good app

First time. I used Premium for the first time today, it was raining and I didn’t use all the facilities available on the app. I will improve as I become more familiar with it

On course yardage. Great app to calculate yardage during a round of golf. Linked mine to my Apple Watch so it is accurate where ever I am. The ability to see the satellite image of each hole on the phone is also a great feature. Highly recommend

Perth WA. I’ve used this app for years and I love it. Paired with my Apple Watch, front middle and back distances are available at a glance. If I need to see around a blind corner or more detail, I can easily look at the high def map on the phone. Does not bother battery life of watch or phone. I do have the Premium option but probably only use it for the higher definition maps and auto advance. I’ve looked at club selection and suggested club choice a few times but prefer to make my own mistakes in this area:) Well worth giving it a try.

Great for game improvement. I use the free version but distances are accurate enough (for a high handicapper) and basic stats let you work out what to work on next

Ian Robinson. OK with the exception of updates from changed courses such as Craigieburn Victoria. Also, sometimes i forget to enter a score after finishing a hole and prior to finishing and saving a round, it would be great to be able to quickly see that each hole's score has been entered.

Great app. Easy to use, very intuitive, great data and stats, would recommend to those thinking about upgrading to Premium for sure 😁👍🏼

Great app. I only use for GPS always have Played Bonville Golf Resort today Other players had hand held distance and watch GSP units Every bit as accurate And with my tired old eyes much easier to use

Handicap round option now missing on premium. Where has the handicap round option gone ? That’s the only reason I upgraded to premium! Now it’s gone !

Best Free App. Been through 6 apps before this one and it’s perfect. Barely uses any battery, can do everything from the Apple Watch app. Only one minor issue is that when it’s opened on the phone or the phone is unlocked it pauses any music playing.

Frank Gennusa. Hole 19 is the best app I have used it for a few years only recently I updated to premium I’m looking forward to it a few extra future Very happy with it and more important very easy 👍👍👍👍

Great app. I don’t normally do reviews of apps as others seem to be more comprehensive, eloquent than anything I could do but Hole 19 deserves a mention. I have been using it for about a year and what is not to like ? I use it with my Apple Watch and as my golf is (slowly) improving the usefulness of Hole 19 increases. The distance to pin and subsequent scoring all there on my watch is fantastic. All 4 of our regular playing group now use Hole 19.

A good App. A good App that covers 99% of courses. I like the ability to track my shots that in turn provides an acurate assessment of my average distances relevant to the club choice. The emails providing tuition and hints are also a benifit. The only negative I find is the occasional tutorial that is more of an add - Happy to have advertising just call it as it is.

Hole 19 Comments. It’s a terrific App and really useful - I play many different courses and the latest feature, preview the course is a fantastic tool.

Really nice app. I love the app but I have noticed that when I’m putting my strokes on the Apple Watch 3 it really does not like the the + Botton I have to hit it some time 3 to 4 times before I works but the - button works fine, thought it was my watch but same area works on the other apps I use on my watch. Really great app though :)

Hope 19 3++ years using. I’ve been using this app for many years and it is great! One of the best apps for stats scoring and distances ever I pay extra for the Premium and since then have little or no trouble with this app I use it on I phone and my Apple Watch When synced and using GB the GPS on my watch it is great - extremely accurate with GE distances on many courses I play on I am a meme we of a 2 course club and it’s distances are same as my range finder in most instances The stats I record every round are great for my game skills and adjustments I am a low single figure marker and share my stats with a couple in my playing mates I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE APP AND GO FOR THE PREMIUM ITS WORTH IT!! thanks Hole 19! The best golf app I have used in over 20 years Greg Duguid QLD Australia

continuous improvement, game and app. This app would be one of the most important pieces of equipment I take on the course. It’s my personal caddy in my pocket. I really want to buy the premium version, but I just can’t convince myself to commit to a subscription payment model. Could you consider a one off payment. Thanks again

Scam Artists. Was a wonderful application who then decided to remove key features and put them in a “premium lite” plan effectively baiting you into the app and switching it out to make a buck. Don’t support shady developers that do this.

Excellent app for a free app. Great features for the free version and very easy to use. Highly recommend it to anyone who golfs

GPS use. Make it simpler to toggle GPS use between watch and iPhone at any time. Put the toggle switch on iPhone app.

Great App. Works with Apple watch!

Best golf watch app. Superior to the Garmin watch on performance and price

Very happy with hole 19. I started with the free version but quickly moved to the paid version for all the stats and hole by hole tracking

Awesome app. Perfect for Apple Watch. Very accurate

The Best App for My Apple Watch. Easy to use even for 72 year old eyes

Not easy to use. Didn’t find the app easy to use at all. Isn’t intuitive enough to just pick up and play with it. Golf Canada app is much easier to use, and also free.

Great app. Never disappoints. Yardage was right on.

Good app. Easy to use good app to have

Dark Mode?. Love the app but will there be a dark mode eventually?

Great app. Hard to complain as the free app works pretty well, I would consider paying for the pro version if it wasn’t quite as pricey, but overall awesome app!

Love the App, Hate the image Quality. Love the app, works well with Apple Watch. My biggest issue with the app is the course picture quality. I know the premium version gets better quality but that is not a feature that should be reserved for your premium version. Trying other apps and if I find one that works as well with better picture I would definitely switch.

Can’t add or save other players. What a dumb app…. Paid for pro even can’t save created players or look for already registered friends easily. Bad interface and or broken.

Can’t figure out how to use this with my Apple Watch.. Good app tho

Apple watch support dropped. No longer works with Apple Watch 6. Switched to 18birdies.

Great app. Easy to use - follow info on my Apple Watch that becomes my GPS during the game Get auto email if your scorecard once game completed Easy - Peasy

Regret paying for upgrade. I use an Apple Watch and for basic yardages it is ok but not always accurate. Beyond that it offers very little… you can track scores but if you are looking for shot data, forget it. I have already cancelled subscription and moved on.

Great golfing tool. Intuitive user interface. No bugs. Seamless integration with Apple Watch. My go-to at the course.

Great app. App works great! Customer service is awesome. My home course was missing, it was added in a day!

Awesome App. Great app guys. Very impressed by yardages and on screen view of holes. Have recommended it my golf buds and they are also using now 👍

Great app. GPS works well, identifies course accurately. Recommend highly although the premium should include automatic change from one to another

Favorite golf gps. Great app with seamless Apple Watch integration!

Hole 19. Great app. No issues

Great app. Lots of fun and easy to use shows lots of courses

Easy to use. Great sight and easy to use

I’m just a 36 handicap but it helps me a lot. 👍👍

Great app with excellent support. My stand alone golf GPS kept crashing so I tried the free version of Hole19. Excellent maps and accuracy. Just needed a phone holder for my push cart for convenience. Recently upgraded to Premium. Great value. Tech support to upgrade maps when needed is expedient. Data usage is minimum when you download the courses you want to play at home. Battery usage is about 15-20% of my iphone SE capacity for an average 18 hole round.

Great app. Enjoy the app as I have a Apple Watch and it works great. Just wish there wasn’t a premium option for money.

First use. Easy to use

Disappointed. The app itself as nice features, I paid for Premium and end up canceling because the layout of every golf course I played was blurry on the screen. The first time I use it I was in Mexico, I thought it was the reason but it did the same thing back in Canada. Really frustrating to pay for something that doesn’t work properly. Don’t buy

Biggest scam. Don’t sign up, you can never cancel it

Merci. Merci

Best Golf app. Period. I’ve tried all the free versions of all the major golf apps and Hole 19 is the best. The customer support in updating a course details was shockingly efficient. I noticed my home course was not accurate to recent changes, and I tapped the revised mapping feature, received an email within minutes. It’s premium version is also much more affordable than all the other options, and you’re still getting all the great features. Just overall the best app out there, and is phenomenal with Apple Watch and so easy to use.

Great App. Been using the app for about a year. Very simple and I like that I have a history so I can go back and see where I’ve played and see improvements in my game.

Suprenament précis.. super. Très précis pour une app de téléphone, je le recommande.

Great app. The graphics are excellent as well as the precision. It is very easy to use.

Hole19. Awesome golf app

Lots going on, no idea what though. I really didn’t enjoy this app. I felt like it should be able to do what I want (track game, give metrics) but the interface was annoying. You need more tutorials. More documentation. The foundation is there but there should be multiple “getting started” and basic use tutorials on YouTube. The foundations of this app are good I think - but none of that matters if a user has no idea what they’re doing - meanwhile their golf group is waiting as they smash away at this app.

Sweet ! Best golf app. Best golf multi purpose app I've ever had

Constant ads and upgrade requests. Used to live this app … but I am now so bombarded with ads AND wanting me to upgrade it is difficult to actually use. I am deleting and trying another free ad free golf course app!

Great app. Works great. Never crashes. Yardages are spot on

Great Day!!. Awesome Golf course for the price.

Great app, won’t be switching. Great for free, bit of advertising to pay the bill for a great product

Helped my game. Solid all around, satisfied user

Removed features. Apple Watch no longer available

Great golf app. Simple, fast, and helpful to track your game.

Amazing app. Way better than using scorecard and pencil … saves your scores , works as a gps … has every course available for download .. easy to use .

Awesome App and even better customer service. I have used this app for years and have really enjoyed it. Recently I had an offer for a free year but I mistakenly created a new account an redeemed it there. On my main account I got charged for renewal. After sending ONE email admitting my mistake and seeing if there is anything that can be done, the customer service agent refunded my purchase, moved my free subscription to my main account, and removed the account I created on accident. Zero hassle or explanation needed on my part. I will continue to use this app so long as I can swing a club.

The best?. I have used multiple gps apps for golf and this one seems like the best and even better than the GHIN one that recently came out. They come in 2 variations. One uses satellite images to map the holes while others use a graphic. Each is personal preference. My go to golf app is Hole19 because it has all the course, easy to navigate and is accurate.

Outstanding customer service. I’ve been using the app for quite sometime and have been very satisfied with the performance. I began having some trouble syncing with my watch so deleted and reinstalled. When I had difficulty with the installation I reached out to customer service. Vera quickly responded, diagnosed the issue and offered helpful suggestions. Truly outstanding customer service.

Good app. One thing though…. Using this app for 2 years. It has done well for me. I’m using the paid but not premium version. In a 9 hole league and the Handicap is right on. Tells me where the hazards are. Provides pretty good stats, but not the best. Issues, small as they are, include: When I look at my watch, it is almost always on the wrong hole. Moving it to the right hole is sometimes a pain on the watch if it is at #2 and I’m teeing off on 17. Would love distance to hazards on the watch at a glance. For the paid version I would like better stats. It gives standard, GIR, left and right misses. I would love putt stats like distances putted, # of putts. Would love club distances to know what to hit. Overall, pretty good. Close to great.

Enhancement. It is a great app, an enhancement would be to allow players to qualify every stroke as to how they actually hit the ball, not only interns of direction as it is possible now, but also as to the stroke itself - weather one hit the ball in the back, in the front (top) or dead center… and then use that information as statistical feedback. Also, I wish we could qualify each stroke, not only the first one.

Reliable, Accurate, Easy. This app provides accurate and reliable GPS distances to the front, center and back of the green. It works seamlessly with the Apple Watch. Using the watch’s GPS functionality is great when you’re away from the cart. An 18-hole round will use 50-60% of the watch battery. This app automatically finds the course you’re playing. What could be easier?

Garbage unless you pay for the highest tier. Even if you pay for Premium Lite, you will receive constant pop-ups asking you to pay for the highest paid plan. So instead of enhancing your golf game, it just annoys and pesters you, even when you’re using it on the golf course. Which is too bad, because the features of the Premium Lite tier are pretty good, but the hostility toward the user has become intolerable. I’m currently looking for a different app that will simply take my money and leave me alone. The design focus of this app is apparently marketing and up-sell and not user satisfaction.

Great app! Don’t like changes to watch scoring. I use the app every time I play golf along with my Apple Watch. They had some trouble at first (2-3 years ago) with the watch which was frustrating but have since worked them out. I do all my scoring through the watch so I was disappointed when they changed the scoring screen to one you have to slide up to get to the “next hole” button. Just my $.02

Limited Apple Watch power. I’ve been hunting for one thing: An Apple Watch app that allows me to track my shots so I can see club by club my average distance and how accurate I am with it. While a distance tracker is included for Hole 19 on Apple Watch, it doesn’t save any of this information or allow you to identify which club was used. For better player who know precisely the distances they hit with each club, this is fine, but I want to learn that info. Actually see how good I am with what’s in my bag. Hole 19 just falls short in Apple Watch support. No one wants to fuss with their phone after every shot missing conversation and taking away from the moment of the game. Tough to recommend this app.

Love this App!. I have used this app for 2 years as a free version and started using the premier version for over the last year + and love it. It has helped my game by having me learn about distance and which club to use. I have recommended this app to many of my friends and they are just as happy. Thank you for helping me improve my game.

All I want is GPS. The automatic scoring was ok as an extra on hole 19 and I used for 2 years I think. I understand you need to make money, but, I don’t want a whole bunch of complicated add on things. I don’t want to share with friends or measure my shots, or any of the other extras that come with the premium. I just want to simply look down on my apple watch and see how far to the hole. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an app that does this. Hole 19 does seem to function well once you learn how to turn off the phone and work off the watch so you aren’t using up battery and data.

Very good app. When I first loaded the app, specifically looking for Apple Watch compatibility, I was disapppinted. The Watch to IPhone was intermittent. First contracts with customer support were disappointing. Then, within a creek or so, I received an email acknowledging a problem with connectivity and yardages. An update was issued and since then, yardages and usability have met and exceeded my expectations. Maybe the best/easiest gps app for iPhone and watch. I would rate this five stars if auto hole advance was available without upgrading.

Latest version bugs. The latest version has a strange bug. After entering my score and selecting the next hole, iPhone shuts off after a time (normal operation). When I reopen iPhone, Hole19 shows the previous hole. I then have to scroll forward past score screen (scores are still there) to get to the next hole and enter that score. This happened on most, but not all holes. I am using the subscription version. Hope this gets addressed soon, hate to see a bug in an otherwise great app.

Showing the world.. I have been using Hole19 for several years with minimal problems. None of which were with the app itself, but with the iPhone I was running it on After upgrading my phone the problems were far less. I am now running the free version on an Apple SE phone a linked to an Apple Watch series 3 and it is great. I tried a couple other apps but none were as reliable. I have about 95 rounds saved, and the handicapping is great for seeing where I’m improving. Really great app.

GPS not always accurate. I use this app with Apple Watch, with blue tooth off. My distances sometimes are accurate but others they can be off by 30 yards or bounce all over the place. I like the simplicity of the app but am afraid to use it without confirmation from my partner. UPDATE I have been setting it up within WiFi and when I get to the course I turn off Bluetooth. The last three rounds have been accurate It may have been my iPhone, it’s Bluetooth has been breaking up

Constant Improvements. I’ve been using the app for a couple of years now, and every time something comes up requiring improvement, the app is updated with that adjustment. They do a great job of staying on top of problems and making improvements that make the app easier to use. Good job folks!

Hole 19. I am using this app on a trial basis to see how it works. I have played two rounds and the app works really well. Two points. I have the Apple Watch with gps and do not need my cell phone to use my watch. To use the app on your GPS watch you must open app on your iPhone, turn off Bluetooth in phone and your watch will give you distances as you walk or ride to your ball, independently of you phone. Make sure you have s fully charged watch as the app does require lots of battery. Distances are very good and quick to load. Enjoy! John C

GPS on Apple Watch connection. I’ve had the paid app for years and have been able to use just Bluetooth connection from my Apple Watch to my iPhone, the default disabling cellular GPS from my watch. If my watch uses cellular while using Hole 19, it kills my watch battery. I golfed today and there was no option that I could see to use just the phones gps. My watch barely lasted the round before dying. Is this part of an update?

No longer working with latest update. Worked great with the Apple Watch sync. But app no longer works. App goes into an endless loop switching between the course selected and the sign up for premium screen Update - Problem resolved. Newest revision requires you to update your profile before you can close the “Round Setup” screen before you can start the round.

Extremely helpful and improving my game.. Our golf course is extremely strategic in nature. You need to know where to place your shot to optimize your next shot or you can be in for many issues and high scores. This app provides an accurate view of dog legs, obstacles and hazards. Also the data on your number of strokes provides good analytical information to know your weaknesses. Use standard tool, not premium yet, but this app is solid. Very happy!

Almost perfect. After trying pretty much all of the gps apps on the same course hole 19 is for sure number 1. This app is accurate to within a couple of yards to the front/middle/back of green which is all I really need. The only thing I wish it did was connect to the health app and track my health data. I tend to walk 18 fairly frequently and would love for the data from playing to be logged in the health app. I know there are other golf gps apps that connect to the health app but are no where near as accurate.

APP functionality as well as customer service. I’ve used this APP for a couple years now and love it!! The GPS function is amazingly close to a range finder!! Just asked for a course to be remapped as they changed front to back and the team was exceptionally responsive and prompt in addressing the issue! Outstanding service!!

Love this app!. Best app to track my horrible golf performance! Was able to get premium access at discounted price during masters so now can see what my handicap truly is! Turned golf buddies onto it and now we are all able to see each other’s progress even when we are not all playing together! Keep up the great work!

I recommend Hole19, a lot!. Fellow golfers, Hole 19 is the best scoring/GPS app I've tried. I've tried many of them. The distances seem accurate ( not that it matters a whole lot to me), the images are clear. I'm sure there are features I don't use, but I'm used to things like that. I sub in a golf league pretty regular and when talk comes around to distances, I tell my compadres, this is way less money than a range finder. And it you wear glasses, I do, it's much easier to use. This will tell you how much I like this app; I wrote a review. I never write reviews. My only squawk... (and it's so minor) I wish the course I'm about to embarrass myself on would just pop up on the screen automatically. And, it's free. what's not to like.

Hole 19 free version. My buddy has a range finder and used to shoot it for many shots, I would tell him the distance before he even got it out. He now just asks me how far. It gives front, middle, and back distances but since we are not pin seekers we usually use the middle. Paired with my watch I always have the correct information.

Great addition to my game. Hole 19 does everything that the average golfer could ask for. I would recommend this app to all looking for accurate distances and the ability to keep track of your score, putts, driving accuracy and many other options got those who desire a comprehensive analysis of their game. Couldn’t be happier with this app.

Great app for the Apple Watch. This is a great app for your Apple Watch as you can set the GPS on the watch so it actually measures from the watch and not the phone. Almost every other app out there it is from the phone and I do not carry my phone in my pocket when I am golfing. I wish the had a hole layout on the watch but sometimes you can’t have everything you crave for a low price. Highly recommend Hole 19.

Wonderful - fully recommend!. Got this as I have the new Apple Watch and wanted disfrace on my wrist. At first I wasn’t getting good distances but that was my bad - was set to meters not yards. Also worked better when I left the phone in my clubhouse locker. Seems to like to read off the phone which I keep in my bag. I turned Bluetooth off but it still read from the phone. Very useful overall and free!!

Promising, but at the same time concerning. So, I took a recommendation and got this app to track my distance while playing. The watch app is simple and works well, and I liked having this functionality on the course. That said, here is my concern; the app on the watch won’t stop, and it appears to be tracking gps even with the main app closed. I close the app on my phone, close the app on my watch but it opens right back up. No matter which sequence I do this the app simple will not shutdown on my watch. This is a big concern to me. This is. It normal app behavior. I want to like this, I really do. But this is a show stopper.

Awesome app but one problem. I used this app for the first time this weekend and loved it! I found the distances to be very accurate and the app to be easy to use. I also really enjoyed all the analytics (putting average, driving accuracy, ect). The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because it tracks the distance from my phone’s location, not my Apple watch’s location. Not sure if there is a work around for this - maybe unpairing the watch from my phone during the round?

Love the new interface for the APPLE WATCH. I’ve been using this app for a year now and love it. Easy to use, accurate and the new interface with front and back pin positions in a different color is a great visual (you should change the phone interface to be the same). I tried a few others out there but Hole 19 is the best. Great job team.

Perfect!. I never review apps. I find it silly. Apps are subjective for the most part, and not everyone likes the same stuff. However, this one deserves five stars! Hole19 is perfect. Easy to use, in-depth stats, accurate maps, and most importantly, dead on yardages. This app has never failed me, and I wouldn’t want to know what my scorecards would look like if I didn’t have Hole19! Keep up the good work lads!

Great App. Was a bit skeptical at first and didn’t sign up for any upgrades, but after using it for a few rounds at different courses, I really liked it enough to add an upgrade package...what really made me a fan is their fantastic customer service...noticed a missing T box (senior) at my home course...sent an email, got a quick response and the issue was fixed within 30 minutes! Now that’s customer service...love using it on my Apple Watch...highly recommend.

Outstanding GPS Best Apple Watch app. Just switched from many years using Golfshot, after their Apple Watch app is all messed up. Hole 19 locks yardages fast on my Apple Watch. Easy to use. Easy to read. After using it for a month I got a great Cyber Monday deal on a subscription. Now I can keep score and more on my Apple Watch. The app works very well, with or without an Apple Watch. Highly recommend.

Completely not happy. The past few weeks the app crashes every time I check my stats or even try to play a round!! I paid the $50 to get the extra stats and cant check anything cause it keeps crashing. I even had to write this review through the App Store cause the app kept crashing!! Looking for a new app!!!!! The people making this app obviously don’t care about the customer!!

Personal Caddy. I love this app. It not only gives accurate readings to its best ability but also suggests the club to hit. As an beginner golfer that is a huge help! Yardages are only semi accurate at times I think cuz the app relies on the actual course to update online yardages for each hole. Maybe I’m wrong. Does make for fun in round games with my partner who has a range finder comparing yardages lol. Overall would recommend for sure!

Glitchy. Once I found out you have to hit ‘simple’ to have the app work appropriately, I started getting good yardages. Now, I can’t end a round. Oftentimes, when I start a round, it picks up from where I ended my last round and I can’t get out of it. If I hit delete (the trash can), it doesn’t delete and bring me to the home screen. When I hit ‘save as a check-in round’, the circle just keeps spinning. If I close out the app and reopen, it usually picks up right where my last round ended. Wish you guys could fix this or let me know how to operate it. Thanks.

Dishonest - removed feature and added only on premium. The app itself is useful and the Apple Watch compatibility is indeed unique and easy to use. However, recently they removed the Watch score input function and forced to only have it on Premium. It’s natural to monetize features, but it’s dishonest to remove standard features and charge for it later. Now, there’s no guarantee that the features that you pay for now will stay and suddenly up-charged on a Premium Plus or something. I’ve been using this for a long time, and was fine with the features it came with. But dishonest acts like this pushes me for another app even if I pay for it.

Great app and great support. Best app I've ever used especially for Apple watch! On top of that it is and will stay FREE ( and doesn't nag you every other hole to buy this or upgrade to that!) The support is better than most paid companies so what more do you want?! Hitting the links without hole 19 is like leaving your driver and putter in the car! You just won't get too far!

Hole 19. I really like using the app during play but today map iwatch battery went dead after 10 holes I noticed the last round my watch battery got low. Not sure if it is the app but I don’t have this issue other than when I use the app I got to get this fixed or I will not be able to use the app going forward.

Gerry. I have been using Hole 19 for a number of years. On the course and it has become a game saver. Its accuracy is spot on. The ability to distance traps and trees, etc. is incomparable. It calculates my driving accuracy and keeps data on all that counts. If you do not have it, get it. The response time is quick as well. No holding everyone up while you check things out

Apple Watch Interface. After I got my Apple Watch this year, I tried a few different apps that would allow me to get yardages and keep score from my wrist. I usually walk when I play, so my IPhone is in my bag, but I really love that the Hole19 stays visible every time I lift my wrist and does not require me to press the side crown button in order to see my yardage to the pin.

Great app. I’ve used this app for some years now ,just wish it had a feature that you can restart your stats , drives , irons and distance tracking, other that you have to delete every round played ( bummer ) a person that uses this app may have 700 rounds to delete every year , stats show only show for a year then reset the start of the new year …

Accurate. Very accurate, usually within 1 yard of my Bushnell. Also impressed that they had a very little known par 3 course in my area on the app! Overall it works really well with my Apple Watch and great on my iPhone. They don’t bug with you trying to buy the premium version, but if you want to track more states than just GiR, strokes, putts, fairways, and stableford option go with premium!

Hijacked my iwatch. First, let me point out that this app, while on the course, is amazing. It was fast when updating the yardages, and seems pretty accurate. My only disappointment comes to ending the round. I play with my 8 and 6 year olds, who can only play 9 holes. When we’re done, I had to flip through the back 9 and try to end the round. But it won’t end. Even at my house, the app continues to pop up when I check the time. However, I did uninstall the app (on my iwatch) and reinstall it. It appears fine, but I haven’t played a second round. Fingers crossed.

Used to work great now not so much. I purchased an iwatch in March and immediately began searching for a gps app. After trying three I found 19H. It was simple and worked well. There is a bug in the latest os update. When I enter my score on the watch the app (on the watch) shuts down. I believe it stays open on the phone. You can use it for gps yardage info but you cannot enter your score. This is happening to friends that also use the app. About three weeks ago, I contacted 19H -they are very responsive- and they acknowledged the problem. It is still not fixed. Also for the first time since owning the watch I run out of battery on any day I use 19H. Issues. Fix it and I’ll re-rate to 5 stars.

Overall good app. The app is overall very capable. There could be a number of improvements in the UI as some features/functions are not a intuitive as you’d expect in 2022. It is my favorite golf app overall but it feels like it could be much more if they just got a few more things refined. But don’t let those points turn you away, just be willing to accept them until they have time to improve.

Wish Sharper Maps included in Free Version. Overall, very satisfied with the App and gives me the information I desire. However, the fuzzy maps are frustrating as I cannot see details very well. Most other Apps have the enhanced maps in free version. While I understand you are pushing premium version, for me most of the “benefits “ are of little value, though for others that may not be the case. This would be 5* plus if that was included or maybe a $5 one time fee. For that reason am considering returning to 18 Birdies.

Great app with reliable readings. I use this app on my Apple watch and do the FPS only. I have this on top of a sky caddie. This app is a much more practical approach when playing. Being able to look at my wrist anytime and have honest yardage has helped my golf game tremendously. One feature I would love to see in the future is to have the holes automatically change when you go hole to hole. Other than that I have had zero problems and use the app religiously. Thank you!

Apple Watch GPS. For those w Apple Watch (w cellular), drop bluetooth off your phone and it’ll use watch’s internal GPS. It improved reliability significantly. Even still, there is room for improvement as there are multiple occasions where distance doesn’t update or it’ll just show distance of entire hole, while standing in fairway (loss of signal?). It’s not quite at the point where it beats Garmin golf watch. Hopefully, future updates will get it there.

Great when it works. When I first got the app it worked great. I even bought the subscription. The problem I am having is when you have your golf watch on and you want to slide theYardage over to the left so you can put your score it won’t move. The only way to cure this is to take the app off your iPhone and reload it on again.... quite the pain when you’re starting a round of golf and you just want to play. This had happened to me more than once , in fact my last two rounds in a row. I hope it’s a glitch that they fix soon. Donna Haapala
