Excellent Car Finder. Shows direction of parked car and it’s location on a map. Took a long time to find a car locator app this good.

Finally!. I have tried dozens of these find you ride apps. Nothing has compared to Anchor Point. Accurate enough to rely on, simple enough to use. Anchor Point is my go to app for finding my wheels!

Very nice. Would get five stars if directions back to your car was not as the bird flies. I just can't seem to get my wings to work, so I would prefer the shortest route by foot back to my car. Removed 4 stars back to 3 stars after your decision to change the graphic to become the very UGLIEST icon on the App Store. Send somebody back to school to learn how colors should work together to make you want to touch it and my rating will go up. I LOVED the yellow and black anchor image, LIKED the yellow and black pointer image, and GAG each time I look at the purple and puke-colored update

Good way to save key locations. Excellent way to save and recall Geo locations from your phone for all situations.

Anchor pointed. It’s good on my iPhone but not on my iPad. It needs the ability to work in the landscape mode and also to import locations via google maps or address. Also syncing between iPhone and iPad would be handy.

Easy to use. Way better then the default Maps. Easy to use. Definitely a 5 stars if it has the Siri Shortcut feature. Still, a excellent $4.00 app. No regrets

Needs work!. I got this app on my iPhone to use as a compass for the times when I’m just out for a ride in the country. Either I’m missing it or the app doesn’t have this ability?

Great UI/UX and Easy to use. I really like how easy it to use. And love having a compass/waypoint marker app that works seamlessly, finally. Would love to be able to make trails or record trails that could be shared. Also be nice to take photos of an anchor for geocache points and other activities as such again for your own use and sharing. Overall fun and easy to use app that is practical.

Forced to review. Update following developer fix and response. I am now able to use the App without being forced to review or say I don’t like it. Easy to use. 4 stars. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Never really used this App. Upon second opening I had two, AND ONLY TWO, choices. Declare I don't like the App, or "Rate Now". There was no Remind me later, or the like. On that basis, one star and immediate removal from phone.

iCloud access. How does one removes this from your iCloud account? Mine still there even after I delete the app. Anyone else have the same problem?

Simple and perfect for finding a parked car!. This app is the simplest and easiest tool that I’ve found for locating a parked car. I can mark my spot easily with two taps (one to open the app, the other to mark the car). Finding it again is easy too with the map marker and directional compass pointing to the location. Perfect for my needs!! UPDATE: recently the “park car” functionality takes a really, really long time to kick in for some reason. I have to wait upwards of 30-40 seconds for it to figure out where I am and place a pin, which makes it almost useless. Please fix this! I love this app otherwise.

Clean and easy but missing one key feature. Super clean and uncluttered interface that makes this an outstanding app. My one request that would elevate this to 5 stars: I should be able to long-press on the icon to see “Park Car” (or “Find Car” if already parked), or “Add Anchor”.

Great app! Just wish one more feature.. Great app! I would love to see an option to increase the size of the arrow as well as much bigger font (where it tell you how far you are from anchor point) on real time screen. Needs work. I was looking for a better app to pin my car and I also wanted an app that pins various locations. I thought I found it here, but it has some flaws. I sat in a location and dropped an anchor. I went back to the app later and checked the anchor and it said I was 24 yards from the anchor. I never moved from the spot I dropped it! Also, if you want to get back to your car, it isn't as accurate as it should be. The latitude and longitude pin should always be exactly the same if you drop an anchor or mark your car. For some reason it will take you to the approximate location, but not exactly. It would be a great app if it could be more consistent and accurate. Please improve it so it can be much more reliable. Update: It looks like it was fixed. I will try it again on the car marking, but it seems like it’s better! Thanks for the fix!!!!

Perfectly useful simple app. This app is simple and useful. Save a point then get an arrow and distance to that point. Perfect for hiking, biking, boating. The only thing I would like to see is an update to the watch app so it functions like the iPhone version. A simple pointer and distance on the watch would be helpful when finding a car or for retiring to a point when hosing a jet ski. It’s easy to get lost on one of those! Unfortunately the watch app just gives walking / driving directions same as Apple Maps. Essentially it works the same as using a pin in Apple Maps. Being able to have a pointer and distance would make the watch app so much more useful.

Apple Watch discontinued?. I previously rated this app with a low score because the Apple Watch app no longer worked. The Watch apps seems to be working well again, so I have given it 5 stars.

Needs to remind you.. This would be sweet if the algorithm say reminded you with a notification after you've stopped moving. After like 30 mins of going over 20 miles per hour it should send a notification to remind you to anchor your parked car. Otherwise it's sweet - IF YOU CAN REMEMBER TO USE IT!

My review. Simple and easy to use. Gives you a direction and distance to where your going that you can EASILY follow. Great way to find friends/family at a huge park like Disney or on the beach while on vacation. Takes the stress out of losing your group if you oh say, gotta go to the bathroom. Everyone usually has to wait for you or come with but now they can go ahead to wherever and you have a direction and distance to where your group is. Great job guys 👍🏼

Lost Anchor Points. I've used this app for a couple years. Recently, I deleted a duplicate Anchor Point. Sadly, the app lost five or six Anchor Points that I made when traveling in various parts of the USA. Even though I synced using the cloud, only a few Anchor Points were preserved.

This is the one I recommend to people. AnchorPointer hits the sweet spot of features and ease of use. There are similar apps with more features but have a learning curve, and those that are simpler but don’t have everything you need. Key pluses: - very simple to save points and get back to them with “radar” - a “car” mode that over-writes - a simple map - connection to Apple or Google maps for long-way directions - the best way of sending a point to another person Minuses: - the “car” mode can be very slow to start up

Useful but.... A really good concept. Kept me on target a couple times. What's problematic is friend finding mode. I don't want anyone who can find my email address to be able to track me; it would be nice if you could send specific invites/approvals to increase sense of security regarding WHO specifically can track you down. Also the accuracy is a bit spotty. Anytime I’ve tried to find my car it ends up off by ~25 feet or so; not bad but can seem far off in a large lot with a lot of cars or outside venue.

Almost perfect!. This is the navigation app I’ve been looking for! Overly relying on GPS has limited my sense of direction and learning the streets in new cities. Using this I pay more attention to streets and landmarks, not GPS directions. If you could provide landscape support that would be the cherry on top. Thanks!

Spooky Settings. Once this app is installed the toggle in “Apps with Permission to Look Me Up” becomes enabled and CAN NOT be disabled. This has persisted between iOS 15 and iOS 16.0.1 even onto a new iPhone. Developers please look into this. App Support link in App Store is also returning with a 404 error.

Simple and effective. Please keep it that way. If you’re hiking, or traveling in an unknown zone with no reliable cell coverage, you can use this app to pin markers and easily go back to them. The modern technological equivalent of Theseus thread. This app can get you out of places and find your way to coordinates. Best of all, it doesn’t need cell phone coverage to work!

Great keeping you locations in one place. Like that I can store all my running places and much more and can choose whether to open in Apple or Google Maps. Only thing missing are icons for Trail, Workout, Fitness.

Simple to use. Doesn’t take up much room, loads fast. Nicely done. Keep it on your home screen so you don’t go looking for it when you want to tag a position in a hurry, like a store or restaurant you finally found on the way to somewhere else.

Exactly what I need except... This app is minimal and as an over the road expediter it is extremely useful to note rest areas and truck stops. The only thing I would like to see added is a way to tag the anchors so that they can be sorted and displayed accordingly, possibly allow the pin colors to be customized per entry. I love the app but adding in those two items would make this thing perfect. Maybe sell it as a 99 cent unlock or something

Nope. I hate leaving poor reviews, and I hope I have reason to update this one at some point. For the moment, though... I parked on a peninsula. I set my location. I checked the map. I took a trail to the water. I kayaked across the lake. I kayaked back across the lake, past my original trail/entry point to the other side of the peninsula. I checked the app. It told me to go back across the lake 375 yards. I went the direction opposite from the pointer about 75 yards, got in my car, went home, and left this review. Had I paid attention to the app, I’d still be swimming. Thankfully, my directional sense is pretty good.

Hansel and Gretel go home. This app has been a great life saver in new cities as we travel around. Getting back to our hotel, car rental or other key spots has never been easier. Highly recommend.

Very well designed. Its design is not cluttered and is very easy to grasp. I will definitely continue to use this app whenever I need to find a location again or find a parked car. It’s much easier to just open this app and make an anchor than to go through the process of dropping a pin in Google or Apple maps. I always find it very tedious and hard to name and manage pins in those apps, but here it’s really simple and with the added features of the anchor list + being able to use different icons for different locations I’m able to pull up a location really quickly.

5 star navigation. You don't need a map to navigate, you need the direction of where need to go! This is a valuable tool when your in another country and you've finished exploring and you need to get back to the motel! Highly recommended for anyone who may have lost the car!

Doesn't Work on Apple Watch. Despite the presentation on the iTunes Store, the App no longer works with the Apple Watch. The developers have told me they have deliberately removed this functionality because of changes in iOS and WatchOS. They have also indicated it will be some time before the Apple Watch functionality is restored.

Spectacular app!. This is a spectacular app. Functional, beautiful, intuitive, allows you to edit and configure the things you want with no clutter. I've tried a lot of navigation apps and none of them come close to this as far as actual usefulness when walking.

Almost Perfect. This is a brilliant and simple idea brought forward in an elegant and easy to use app. I love the quick car park feature, and the ability to store many anchors to places I've been is great. Only two things would make it 5 stars. Allow adding anchors by map coordinates/address, not just current location, and allowing the 'Meet Friend' feature to be used without Facebook. I understand these two improvements are coming though.

Great app, perfect for my use. This is a beautifully designed app that works as advertised. I entered three locations in a lake (in decimal degree, N positive, W negative) and the arrow guides me to them. They are test sites and this app makes getting to them in a canoe very simple.

Needs Data to Work :(. Work's great in your home country but doesn't work if you're travelling and don't have a data plan. I thought this was GPS based and work with the GPS in the phone. Was disappointed when it didn't.

"Sure, I can find your place again...". I live and work in Africa. Often, I find myself following a friend's car in the dark, through a town or village, to get to his house. Now that I've been there once before, he will expect me to find my way on my own next time. This app is perfect for that. Since it's lightweight, I can launch it and discretely save an anchor point in a few seconds while getting out of the car. And in villages or farms where the roads aren't marked and change often, an arrow and distance is much more helpful than a dot on a blank map. I've got several other GPS apps, but none can save and point back to a waypoint as quickly and easily as this one.

iPad！. Supporting the ipad allows the app to be used on more devices, and supporting it is like supporting a larger iphone, so how can it be too much effort?

Arrow pointer does not work. Conceptually a great app, but stopped working months ago. Arrow does not point to car and rarely moves at all. Tried help suggestions but still not working. Contacted designer via email, but no response.

Interesting application for outdoors. Seems like mapping apps are everywhere today. Anchor Pointer however takes a different approach to helping you find your car or friends. Once you drop an anchor you can mail to friends who have Anchor Pointer or use the compass/map interface to return to an 'anchor point'. Anchor Pointer gives you a range, direction and even includes the altitude difference between you and your target. You can build a list of Anchors with meaningful names which means the app allows you to build your own list, I can't wait to try it on my next fishing trip!

a little buggy. This app seems like a good idea but things started bad. I clicked add anchor. The location was garbage but i hit next anyway. It then asked me to allow GPS (probably the reason the location was garbage.) I named it and went back to the original screen and selected it. it says the location is about 5282 miles away. Since I am still sitting in the same chair that is pretty silly. I decide to delete and start over now that GPS is enabled but I don't see a delete icon anywhere, not even under edit. I suppose some swipe somewhere or other might do it but I don't like guessing game user interfaces. It will probably work fine now but all in all this is about the worst initial 5 minutes I can remember for a new app. Amateur developer I suppose.

One of my top 5 essential traveling apps. I travel extensively, and while I have apps for trains, metros, busses, when I’m walking, I almost always rely on Anchor Pointer. You’ve discovered a great restaurant or shop, drop an anchor. Aren’t sure how to get back to the metro station, drop an anchor. I spent the summer in Florence, Italy. Anchor helped me find my way quickly along the twisting streets and alleys. Now in Paris, it’s doing the same thing. Two suggestions to improve it just a little more: 1. I would love a way to organize my Anchors. Currently, the default is last entered, first one to show up in the list. I tag my anchors and would like to organize them, e.g., Paris - great bakery in the 11th. Now I have to scroll down the list (which has gotten pretty long) to find this Paris entry. 2. Sometimes the app needs to recalibrate. No problem; it’s quick. It would be nice to “force” a recalibration sometimes, for example, when you’re coming out of a underground metro.

It works great!. Used it to locate my Jeep at an amusement park. It took me to my driver side door.

Just what I was looking for!. I’ve been looking for something like this (and have tried a number of similar but less useful products) almost from the time I started with iPhones - back with the iPhone 3. The app authors are very responsive to suggestions, and have added the ability to edit the anchor position (useful if you’re on the move and “dropped the anchor” a bit away from the actual site). Some of the other observations (complaints) are not compelling for me. I understand that this is essentially a compass app rather than a routing GPS. The maps are completely adequate for my use (currently exploring in Indonesia) and have been spot-on for location. Well deserving of a 5 star rating!

Completely worthless. I parked my driveway. I walked about 100 yards away. The worthless app could not find my car. I’m glad I tried this before I went on vacation My advice to you is to use a real handheld GPS.

Support the barometer. Now I have the iPhone 5S only, so that means I don't have the barometer sensor in my phone, but I was thinking of the idea that maybe you guys can add support for it (for the 6 and 6+) so that maybe when people park in a parking garage that has many level of height, and when they anchor the location it records what height the car was at, so when they try to find their car using the app, it shows what level the car was at too instead of just the location on the "ground". Though there is no way to test it so I don't know if you guys might already have this feature in the app. Thanks anyway
