Fast and smart AI - worth paying to get rid of ads. I’ve been playing Othello on this app for a few years and have played something like 10,000 games on it. This is a great version of Othello to build up some serious skill over time. I’ve beaten up to Level 22 both black and white without hints, undos, or handicaps. The AI is reasonably quick on iPhone SE and even faster on iPhone X. Great for a quick thinking game. Once the game is over, you can review your moves (just can’t undo them).

Ok.... No landscape mode on iPad.

The best AI around. But the app is kinda ugly. Still: worth it just for how good the AI is.

HB214: I Love This Game!!!. I am a huge fan of Othello (although I prefer the name Reversi myself...) and this is my favorite app for the game. Love the graphics, levels of difficulty, all of it! I do wish there was a way get rid of the ads though. For me it would totally be worth .99 cents. Keep it updated please!

Great app. But I only have 5 gigs on my phone and it takes up A LOT if memory for the amount of functions it has. Other than that its great!

Not terrible, until .... ... thanks until the ads covered up the menu bar, making it impossible to play the game. I deleted the ad and had to play the usual Google Ads game (“Why did you delete it?” “Why don’t you want to see the ad again?”). They gave me an option, “Ad covered content,” which I selected—but it was all in the game. Google very politely said, “We won’t show that ad again” and replaced it with a Google Ads logo that—guess what—covered the menu bar. I don’t know if this problem is the fault of the game makers or Google, but as it comes down to my relationship to the game, it’s all the same. Bye.

Great, would be greater if.... App works very well, no real bugs during play. It would be better if: 1. The undo feature worked after a game is finished -- it would be a great learning tool 2. One could arrange the stones to a given situation and begin play. This would be very helpful when studying the game with the help of online books by Brian Rose and Ted Landau. 3. The app would remember the difficulty level vs the computer when switching back from manual to computer mode. It currently switches back to the easiest level, 1. 4. Allow full access to historical results. Not necessarily transcripts (that would be nice) but to at least results vs computer (eg color, level, final stone counts, etc). This is a great app.

Great App!. This is easily the best othello game on the App Store. The game is easily customizable (show last movable, show options,ect.) and you can even save a game for later. The best part is the level options for playing against the computer which lets you unlock new backgrounds. One feature I would really like is playing via Bluetooth or wifi. Overall, great app.

Really Great BUT.... Aesthetically pleasing, cool features, but constantly skips my turn for absolutely no reason. And that is kind a of a huge deal because you know, it makes it unfair. Fix it and I will delightfully delete this.

Best for me. Excellent graphics and settings. Can control speed, etc. plus can take away it showing moves available--which I liked best--like looking for moves/thinking on my own. Recommend. Great app.

Needs Online play. Computer play is ok, but I prefer live, rated competition.

Seems pretty good.. This version seems good. Allows two players (in the same room) or against the computer with difficulty levels and handicaps. Has many features I have yet to explore.

Actually challenging. I’m pretty good at Othello and I’ve been searching for a good app to practice. But all of them have been too easy. This is the only one that has a challenge and it’s a real challenge too. So bravo

Good and bad. Game and screens good. On a recent update you added a YouTube add when the game is over. I don't watch them and I delete the game. Same crap yahoo does

Five Star. Love it. So far it has yet to crash. Nice look and very easy to navigate.

Only one complaint….. I have to touch the screen 3 times to start a new game. Surely just a “new game” button is in order.

Best Othello AI yet. PERIOD.. If you want to get good at this game TS is the app to learn from. The only con is that sometime the AI "thinks" way longer than it should need to when the best move is plainly obvious. I say this because I see it and long before the AI moves I'm yelling, "THERE!!!!! RIGHT THERE!!!!!" And then it eventually does move RIGHT THERE. To the guy complaining the game is making you pass, I know it's been a long time but this might be helpful to others reading these reviews: Passing in Othello is not a choice. You MUST pass if you have no possible moves, and that does happen. So that is not a glitch. The game is supposed to do that.

Was good, now plays a full screen ad every game. This was a good app. Then an ad was displayed after each game, which I accidentally clicked a few times because of placement and timing. I can tolerate that. Barely. Now it launches a full screen video with every time I start a game. Deleting. Thanks for ruining it.

Othello. I love othello it's my fav game to play I like to relax smoke a cigar and play othello this is good on the go but needs Facebook multiplayer asap

Computer is VERY good. Yo, Human, you have met your master. Far superior to that other free Othello. BUG: it always announces "Pass!" from the wrong player when I am white.

No complaints until it disappeared. My only wish was that it kept track of results. But that seems even more minor, since now I wish I could get more than a black screen. I was starting a game, an ad appeared (which happens every other game, but I'm OK with that) and when I closed it, the screen went black, except for a small display ad at the bottom. I guess I'll give it a little while to correct itself, and if nothing happens, I'll delete the app. I enjoy the game, but what's the point of keeping it if all it does is show a black screen with an ad for dermatology cream?

Beautiful Othello game. Easy to play, works as designed, lots of customizable options. Five stars.

Game is easy to trip up. A couple of times, I was winning and the opponent would do something to make the game freeze so it would end in a tie.

Hide Menu Bar?. Would be nice to be able to hide the menu bar while playing. Would also nice to be able to start a new game with a single tap.

AI POWER. I have tried many different Othello apps but this one is by far the best. The apps doesn't look the greatest but makes it up by having the best AI around for all levels of players and many different features and settings others don't have. I have found no bugs.

No Stars Computer Cheats. This is by far the worst game you can get, not even worth it for free. There's no proper scoring and the computer Cheats!! Absolutely a waste of time

Good game but…. So i think that this is a good game but it has one flaw and that is the passes me and my dad both got mad at it so please take it out.

Game? Great! Header? Bad!. Since you can’t rotate screen, the area where you touch the option icons is too small. I have to aim very carefully if I want to get a new game started. Sometimes, (usually), it takes a couple of touches for the new game button to stop lighting up, then dimming without starting the next game. Other than that, the game offers a lot of skill levels, & realistic graphics. Fun to learn. Harder to master!

Help!. This app looked really fun so I downloaded it. And as I was playing I realized that I was versing myself! I don’t know if it was just me or if this happened to other people. I gave this app a 1 star rating because, of this mess! PLEASE FIX IT!

Love this game but. I have to give it 2 stars for one reason. I understand ads. But when the ad won’t end and takes you away from the game to the App Store EVERY time it runs.... you loose. Very close to dumping the game because of it.

This is the app for you if you enjoy watching adds. The game itself is good but you have to watch a stupid add after each game and there is no way of skipping it, stopping it and otherwise bypass it. Not for me. I played 2 game and I deleted the app

Fun to play..... This is a fun game to play as a time sponge, then it worms your way into your mind and becomes very challenging as the levels increase. I found it very useful in thinking ahead of this move, to the next... and securing those corners.

Nice. It is a good othello game with lots of com difficulties I suggest adding a tutorial

More ads now. It’s a great game. But all of a sudden after a couple of years there are really intrusive ads that you can’t silence. If I can’t silence them, I won’t play it

Don’t buy. Purchased the app to remove ads and ads were not removed. I tried to contact the developer but they do not respond. Don’t buy this app.

Great game, design needs update. This game is great, features and all are all well done. My advice for an even better user experience would be to clean up the interface. Have less options on screen that don't absolutely need to be one click away. Basically, just simplify how it looks.
