From 5 stars to 2 after latest update.. This app was fantastic until the latest update. I have no need to track workouts across devices so the new login/registration requirement is an unnecessary hassle and should offer a bypass option for those who don’t want it. Worse yet, you can no longer use most functions of the app without an internet connection. The best part about this app was the ability to take it with me on my phone when traveling, at times without access to WiFi, and still get in a solid workout. Now, you cannot access your settings, create a new workout nor save a completed workout without an internet connection. Losing that much functionality for supposed gains that I don’t want or need severely downgrades my opinion of this app from 5 stars to 2. I would not have downloaded this app if it was set up this way originally. And I will no longer be able to recommend it to friends and family as I had been doing.

Super useful but it could use one change. I've been using and appreciating this app for the past eleven months. Some days I do the seven minute workout, some days the smart workout and some days other forms of exercise. My husband does the 7 minute workout every single day but gives it his all. We are living in the Philippines, in one of the hottest and most humid parts of the country, for a couple of years. We don't have a gym or any equipment and rarely the internet and it's too miserable to exercise outside (we do a lot of outdoor humanitarian projects) so this app has been our primary method of staying in shape. There is one change I would like to see made to it. Just prior to the next exercise it would be helpful to see a demonstration of the entire exercise rather than a still shot. This would be done during the countdown before the exercise begins. It would also be useful to see a complete list of the exercises at the beginning of the smart workout. All things considered, I love this app and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks!!!

Simple, helpful, reliable. Simple, clear instructions accompany each of the short exercises included in this app’s guided 7-minute workouts. I appreciated being able to customize a workout with the specific exercises that work best for me. The narrated tips for each exercise are helpful, though if you exercise while listening to music on your AirPods, the instructions may interrupt your listening. Overall, this is an excellent exercise app, aided by being able to see the visual demonstrations of a real person doing each exercise. I’ve chosen this one over several other 7 minute exercise app alternatives, and I used this one throughout the pandemic period because it was reliable and helpful.

Amazing workout app. I’ve been using this app for at least 5 years. Never a dull moment, never disappointed. My clothes are soaked in 21 mins. This 7 minute workout App never fail to disappoint. In 21 minutes I’m soaked. My heart rate is up to 150bpm. Update. I’m still using this app for my cardio workout. I’m researching for an exercise Cardio / Health & Fitness App that’s better than the 7 min workout. I don’t see any that even comes close. And all the others charge for their apps. This is free. It has been free from when it was first introduce and continue to be free. By far the best free exercise app in the marketplace. By far have exceeded my expectations .

Wonderful workout app!. I LOVE this app. Started with the 7min Smart workout but have moved on to my own customized workouts. I love that I can make my own workouts. I have ones for days I need a quick workout and then longer ones with different levels of challenge. There are still some exercises that seem impossible for me to do BUT I felt the same way about some of the ones I’m doing now. So...#goals! I see a difference in my body and I’m so much stronger! I would love to see an addition of a whole stretching library.

Very good app, but…. I love this app. I’ve done around 200 workout, everything from the 7-Minute to the Smart Workout and all the pre-made cycles. I love it and use it every other day. Lately, though, the app has stopped saving my workouts. I get to the end, do my cool down, and try to reply to the question about how I feel and the app says it failed to save. Is there a new setting on my iPhone I don’t know about? Now I have to manually track my progress (a first-world problem, to be sure, but still…). Sometimes the sound that counts down the beginning and end of an interval doesn’t play, taking off my timing and throwing off my effort. It would be nice if it did what it claims to do.

Best truly free workout app, but.... First off, thank you, J&J, for providing this truly free, no ads, no subscription workout app. I don't mind paying a reasonable one-time fee for an app, but the $5-10 month subscriptions most workout apps require are just not in my budget. Background: I'm a big fan of Down Dog & have been practicing yoga for ~2 years. I went looking for some more traditional quick workouts to mix it up. Tried over a dozen apps & this best fit the (cheap) bill. It's a no-frills app, but it's got a great HITT timer. It gives you a semi-random exercise for one minute, then counts down a 10 sec rest. Love it. Unfortunately, this is clearly geared towards folks with good upper body strength. Even if you set your general fitness to 2/5 or 3/5, even if you downvote a particular exercise, it still gives you advanced pushup variations (chair pike pushups, I'm looking at you). Which is annoying, but hey, did I mention this is free? I just sub in a similar exercise or yoga pose and keep going.

Great workout using simple tools at home!. I used to work out every day for years when I was younger. Now I’m a 40-something year old mom and I might have become lazy and excuse-ridden in my middle age (okay, “might” is not the word I should use here). My body has fallen very short of being healthy to the point that touching my toes has been a distant dream. Bring on New Years Resolution to become healthy...again, and I discovered this app. In the two weeks that I have used this (every morning during the week), I have noticed an increase in energy, flexibility, and overall well-being. To be clear, it is NOT 7 minutes long. I think the first time you launch the app it’s 7 minutes, but the number of rotations increases after a few days. Doesn’t matter. It gets my heart rate up and starts my day off right. AND, I don’t need any props other than a yoga mat, a chair, and a stool to step up on. If you feel like you can’t do push-ups or planks, don’t let that stop you. They will craft a workout tailored to your level and will work you up to the level that you’re able to do all of those strong core exercises. Do it. You’ll feel a difference.

Simple app, good variety of exercises, visual demonstrations of each exercise. I’ve been using this app for about 2 months. I use it after my morning run and haven’t quit using it yet; it’s really good. One of the many great features is you rate how you feel at the end of each workout and it will customize your next workout so it’s not being too hard or easy. It has the basic 7 minute workout if you don’t have much time or you can select customize and it will give you a 21 - 24 minute workout depending on how much rest time between each exercise.

Good app but needs tweaking. I justDownload it to ipad. Easy to do and set up. As I has handicaps I thought I would try the customization exercise and creat my own. Again easy to set up and really helps you to understand what areas you’re working on. BUT I cannot seem to edit the custom workout routine i just created. I am pushed on what appears to be a button in the top of screen but nothing is happening. Thought well maybe I need to run through the exercise routine and then you can update as needed, but NO. Still can edit and button does not work. Maybe it’s a glitch. My main thing is I would like to organize so there in minimal up and down but more grouped. I have MS and a lot slower so need to conserve energy to maximize workout. I will be looking at other apps.

Effective app. I use this app when I travel and even at home. I find the variety of workouts are fun and challenging as you modify it to your own abilities and experience. The only thing I didn't really care for is rating of each work out while you're in the work out. Sometimes my phone doesn't capture my input as quickly as desired/it should, I'd like it better if at the end of the work outs, a list of the recently used movements/exercises come up and we can rate it post work out. But great app for customizable short or long workouts. Also please create a cancel or back button for the default 7-min work out and the smart work out in case users accidentally select one of those two so that we don't have to get out of the app just to get to the correct location.

Johnson and Johnson 7 min workout. Excellent app with warm ups and cool downs and enough of a variety of exercises that the workouts never get old. The Smart Workouts are very good, not only because of the exercises that are chosen but also because the element of surprise takes that one component of knowing and dreading what is coming next in your workout, completely out of the picture. Game changer! Although I love this app and feel that it is the best one of its kind that I have tried, I wish that I could access a stretching routine or even a variety of stretching routines, such as one to start my day or one todo before bed. Currently, the only stretches in the app are for a warm up or a cool down and are a bit limited. The importance of stretching, for maximum health and flexibility could be emphasized a bit more, to make this app truly the best HIIT available.

Apple Watch app doesn’t work and I can’t submit feedback to developer. I’m leaving 1-Star to get attention of the developer. I would’ve contacted them privately but there is no way to do so. Going to their website on the iPhone and clicking Contact Us shows an error. That’s the first issue. Second issue is the Apple Watch app isn’t syncing with the iPhone. It says I should start the workout on the iPhone, which I do, but nothing changes on the watch. I have tried resetting my Apple Watch and iPhone, but it still doesn’t work. I’d also like more information on how the Apple Watch app works. Does it sync with Apple Health workouts? Does it continuously track my heart rate? I usually start workouts on my Apple Watch with the native Workouts app so I can track my heart rate continuously, but I’m not sure if using the J&J app would do that. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this app. It’s my favorite workout app by far. Everything else about it is amazing, and this is the first issue. I’d be happy to change to 5-Star if I get a response from the developer. Please make it easier to send feedback so I don’t have to use this method.

Please consider keeping the app. Just saw the news that the app is slated for retirement at the end of the 2023. I’ve been using for the app for years and have over 300 workouts recorded. It’s the one constant in my workout routine. I change other parts of my routine based on the season and sport - cycling, hiking and snow skiing, but I use the J&J app all year round. It’s easy to use, easy to fit into a busy schedule and easy to use on the road when traveling for business. Please consider keeping the app going. I’d second the other mentions that I’d gladly pay for the app to stay.

Just Getting Started. I have just started working out again after going through a 6 six year slump. I’m 52 and I know that it’s just going to keep getting harder to get back in shape. I found this app while browsing on Pinterest. This is day one and it was extremely hard, but I felt good afterwards. I had to make some modifications with some of the exercises because I’m so overweight and out of shape. I know that if I stick to it I will eventually be able to do everything especially the dreaded plank😆😆. All in all I feel like this is going to keep me motivated to get moving.

Great app, could use a few tweaks. The app is a great concept. After using it a few times there are a couple of annoying gripes, but the workouts themselves are fantastic, always making me drenched with sweat. First, with audio on, the instructions for the exercise form etc. are great for the first time, after that I’d like to mute just that and still hear the countdown timer without the instruction. Second, for exercises where you switch sides, a couple extra seconds (3-5) would be great to allow you to switch, the app basically forces you to work one side longer than the other. Third, it would be great to see a video of the next move during the last 3-5 seconds of the break to prepare you for the move, there is text there to tell you the next move, but the video would help on the ones you’re not familiar with and let you know whether you have to be prepared on the ground, on a chair, or standing.

Great iPhone app, useless Watch app. So far I'm happy with the iPhone app but I'm frustrated by the Apple Watch app. It requires you to start the workout from your phone and shows the same info as on the phone screen, but it doesn't provide any alerts for when exercises start and stop! It's really awkward to try to keep my eye on the watch screen while doing the exercises, but if I don't I'll miss all the prompts. Ideally the watch app would work by itself, giving haptic taps to let me know when to start the next section and a voice announcing the name of the next exercise. Then I wouldn't have to awkwardly look at a screen while working out.

Great App, Doesn’t Squeeze You. One of the best things about this app (in addition to the variety of workouts and ability to customize) is that it doesn’t make you feel like it’s nickel and diming you like a lot of other workout apps. It’s great for beginners and a fair tool for more fit people too looking to add a quickie to their routine. I wish the Watch app was standalone or at least provided haptic feedback when switching from workout to workout and gave you a better sense on how much time total was left. Also wish it integrated with Health a little better and showed my heart rate. But definitely worth the download and it’s far better than most other apps out there and for free? You can’t beat that.

Best Home Workout. Update: I just saw the message that the app would be retired in December. I want to give Johnson and Johnson a big thank you for providing such a wonderful app for years. Thank you and best wishes for the future! I’ve used this app on and off for about five years and I can’t sing its praises enough! The only equipment you need is a sturdy chair. The app is simple and clean. Instructions are brief and to the point, and you can turn off the voices instructions easily. The app tracks the exercises you complete and how you rated the difficulty and will recommend when to move up or down levels of difficulty. Something else I appreciate is that the person demonstrating the exercises is modestly dressed (an issue I’ve run into with other workout videos). Overall, I highly recommend!

Great exercise app. For a free app, this is great. For basic calisthenics workouts that require nothing more than a chair (& a wall) this is a perfect app. You can customize and create your own workouts. This allows you to select your favorite exercises and avoid your least favorites while picking the intensity level as well. The only thing I would like to see is a couple more options for low impact exercises for those of use with bad knees, otherwise I am extremely happy with this app and fully thankful to Johnson & Johnson for making this available for free. Hats off and kudos to J&J.

Really Helps. I normally do not exercise. But, I started to when my sister introduced me to this app. I am really impressed with it. Because I detest exercise and sweat, I never used to do anything to workout my body. But, this is not a 20-60 minute thing. This is 7 minutes (not including warm up and cool down which is about a min each). So, you can do this before school or work. It’s quick and gets you sweaty. I’m usually not motivated to exercise, but this is something that you can do and not be dying afterwards. I can already feel my body changing as I do the exercises. I definitely recommend if you want to get in some exercise without spending part of your day going out of your way to do it. DEFINITELY DO AFTER YOU WAKE UP AND BEFORE BREAKFAST.

Easy, customizable and flexible.. Update on the May 2017 update. It looks like the "looping" bug mentioned below is fixed - thank you! I like the app. It could use some updating - there are many good suggestions in the reviews, such as tracking across devices. But if you want a no nonsense bodyweight exercise app suitable for beginners to intermediates, at no cost (!), this is a good one. Update May 2017. Still like the app. But latest update seems to have messed it up. Everything repeats. Example (basic 7 minute workout) goes jumping jacks, wall sit, jumping jacks again, push up, wall sit again, etc. And, tried to submit this feedback on the 7minuteworkout website but the comments won't send I use this 2-3 times per week, with a combination of built in workouts and my own. Even 9-10 minute workout (incl warmup) is a great one. If I'm more ambitious I can do 2-3 workouts for a good high intensity workout.

Great program but could be better. This is a great app. Often times I use the 7M w/o as a great way to warm up prior to my workout program and other days I use the smart w/o feature as a stand alone workout for the day. I love the variation in activities every time I use the smart workout, and therein lies the opportunity to make the app better. The 7 minute workout is always the same workout, this repetition gets old quickly so I move over to the smart workout option; however, the smart workout frequently sets up for a 3 cycle workout (~26 minutes). This is too long for use as a quick warm-up. So I am left with either doing the same old 7M w/o or trying to cut a smart w/o short so I can have some variation to my warm-up workout. I would like to see an option to choose how many cycles I would like to perform in a smart workout or perhaps a “smart warm-up” feature to choose from. This change would make the app PERFECT! Thanks

almost perfect. as someone who has difficulty exercising, this app really helped me work my way up into regular workouts at a comfortable and healthy pace. i really only have three problems with the app. first is that in custom workouts they don't let you repeat any exercises (exp: you can't select "chair-assist push-up" three times). if you're just starting and can only do one of the exercises, it's frustrating having to select exercises you can't do. second, i really wish there were more easy modified versions of different exercises. again, if you're really out of shape then forcing yourself to improperly do an exercise that you can't do, you can really end up hurting yourself. and third, there's no way to turn off exercise descriptions without turning off ALL of the audio cues, meaning you'd have to constantly watch the screen. this wouldn't be too bad if the app didn't lower the volume of whatever else you're listening to while doing these descriptions. again none of these are dealbreakers but i think if they were fixed it would really make the app incredible.

App is back up 🙌. Happy that this app has returned to life. I took a break from it after it had issues logging in and keeping track of workout progress. This is my favorite app to use when I’m short on time or just tired and want to get a quick workout in without thinking too hard about it. The prompts are good. Interface could use a bit of improvement. Wish it had the basic function of being able to pause and rewind a few seconds for when I’m interrupted on occasion during a workout but there is no rewind option. Instead I’m running to grab the phone to hit pause which adds unnecessary stress about not being able to catch up.

Data Collected and Shared. Suddenly this app requires registration and, by the way, agreement to allowing data collection, to be shared with “third parties”. Name, email address, ip address, biometric data, birthdate, and more - all to be shared with entities not identified and all without your knowledge. I don’t know, this seems very invasive. J&J immediately responded to this review with assurances that collected data would not be shared “for marketing purposes”. Shared none-the-less. Whoever these 3rd parties are, they may be righteous. Or not. In today’s world it seems naive to assume no consequences to giving unknown entities personal information. I did find the app useful and the immediate response indicates J&J is at least paying attention. For those reasons I’ll bump my rating two stars. But as always, buyer beware.

Frictionless workouts. There is no excuse not to workout with this app. All you need is your phone, a chair or bench, and a wall. There is a wide variety of 20-25 minute (despite the name) workouts grouped by difficulty level which will put your joints through their full range of motion while getting your heart pumping. Each exercise has an instructional video so you can ensure you are performing it correctly, and the set routines can be customized if there are individual exercises you unable to do safely. I roll out of bed, grab my phone and a chair, and 20 minutes or so later I’ve done a good total body workout and can face my day. I’ve been using everyday for 8 months and still love it.

Goals? Not me! So helpful for getting moving regularly. It's amazing what a quick and consistent workout can do for you. This app helps you with sticking to your goals by making it easy. In fact, I have no goals! but I just know I feel and look better when I keep moving. The app keeps it fresh by mixing up different exercises and pacing every time you click start. Videos and instructions are very clear. So handy to click and get straight into working up a sweat wherever you are. I use it a lot in hotel rooms when traveling. The only issue I had (a while ago) was that I wasn't able do dial my fitness level down after an injury. It just gave me blank exercises. A reinstall of the app got me back in.

Nice App, but Needs Some Things. This is a nice app for doing workouts, but it needs a few quality of life improvements. 1. Have the option to change the workout difficulty you just did. It defaults to easiest, and if you submit before changing it, you cannot edit it. Adding the ability to edit that the same day you submitted would be nice. 2. Add an option to rate the exercises after the workout. You can thumbs up or down each exercise, but only when that exercise is happening, making me break flow to walk over and rate. Please add the option to rate the exercises that you did at the end as well.

A few changes needed. I used this app today and I really like the format. I will definitely use it again, but I wanted to leave feedback for changes that I think are needed initially: 1. Users should be able to change the model to someone that reflects their gender and race (would love to see different body types too) 2. Users should be able to skip exercises in the workout or pick exercises they want to avoid in the profile settings. I have arthritis and I cannot do exercises that involve bending my big toe, so lunges are out of the question. I had to modify with another exercise myself.

Individual Exercise Video Stopped Working. This was one of my favourite workout apps. One of the things I liked about it is being able to watch videos of the individual exercises without having to go through the workout routine. However the section that lets you do that no longer works, and hasn’t for a while. When you click on an individual exercise within the “Learn the Exercises” section you get a message saying “Network Unavailable” “Please check your internet connection to play this video” I tried clicking on the developer website link in the App Store to report the problem and it just takes me to the general Johnson and Johnson website which doesn’t have an area dedicated to this app.

Pretty solid app in a workout pinch. I’ve used this app for a few years now and find to be a good basic option for when I’m traveling or in between more structured programs like any of the p90x or insanity programs. For those purposes I alternate btwn this and Nike training club (also falls a little short of perfect, so each is valuable to me in different ways). Wish there could be more variety in the workouts and individual exercises. Also, I love the option to play music from my own library (otherwise its silence), but I find the excessive fluctuations in volume to be annoying. The audio in the app is so quiet that it gets muffled in my music, even when it mutes a bit for the app voiceovers. Would love a fix for this!

Great... for about 10 days.. This app is excellent, but only useful for about 10 days. It has two major flaws. 1) You can’t limit the number of cycles. As soon as it automatically moves you from two cycles to three cycles, your workout goes from ~15 minutes to ~26 minutes, especially because the wait time jumps from 5 seconds to 15, which is a huge both because people using this app are most often looking for a short workout. Moreover, the difficulty jump from 2 to 3 cycles is immense- even with long wait times between exercises. 2) The smart workout generator doesn’t seem to factor in the previous days workout. There have been multiple day stretches where I get 3 push-up like exercises or (worse) tricep exercises in my cycles. It would be much better if it were able to recognize you using it daily and then switched up the focuses of the workouts. Day 1: 3 chest, 2 core, 3 legs, 2 cardio. Day 2: 1 chest, 3 core, 3 legs, 3 cardio. Even better if it can be more specific so it doesn’t hyper focus on triceps as it occasionally does. This flaw isn’t as bad as the first (I’ll substitute jumping jacks for a second tricep exercise if I have 2 cycles), but it starts to get annoying that you just can’t physically do the workouts because it’s given you 3 chest exercises 2 days in a row.

Revolutionary. This app is honestly fantastic. The audio and visual prompts allow me to safely workout and stay on pace. The guide and voice is professional and not cheesy compared to other apps. The ability to create your own workout is awesome - myself creating an exhausting seven minute full body workout that use a few days each week. Fast, convenient, and enjoyable. This app has transformed my cardiovascular abilities while also improving my overall strength with my custom workout. Highly recommend for anyone - there is something for every level.

Great system. This is the most no nonsense app for workouts I have used; I love it. The range of workouts are perfect for me, I don’t need to customize anything. I do it two to three times a week to supplement my riding a bike, and it is so very efficient and thoughtful in its design. I do it in the stairwell of my apartment building and I bring my 3 x 5 kitchen mat and can do everything within that space and I do the chair stuff via the stairs, works perfectly. I can’t say enough about this app, honestly one of the best I have seen and FREE. One thing I wish they would do is allow the user to set how much time between exercises in the settings, so if I wanted 5 seconds instead of ten it would apply that to all the sets. I hope J and J keeps offering this app for years to come, thanks so much for providing it.

Finally tried it!. I downloaded this app months ago after I went low carb and lost 25 lbs saying I’ll workout to help me lose faster but of course never did. Today I finally tried it and it was really good! You set your starting level and since I’m in no shape whatsoever, I started on the beginner level. It was a comfortable level to start. It started with a warm up, did planks (which I hate but survived), step ups onto a chair and other easy beginner level things. The most important thing is to start at your true level!!! Don’t skip the beginner level if you’re like me and haven’t exercised in a REALLY LONG time. You’ll get discouraged and won’t want to continue. For a fee workout app, I really liked it!!

Great app, could use some options for women. I use this app at least three times a week alternating with other forms of morning exercise. I love the variety of exercises and not knowing which will come up so I prefer the Smart Workout though I realize I can create a custom workout. Two wishes: 1) An option to limit the number of cycles for the smart workout on a particular day (though I suppose I could just stop) 2) Although you can screen out exercises you dislike (or cannot do) it would be ideal to be able to identify that I am a 67 year old woman who will probably never have the upper body strength to do push-ups with advanced bird dog. In other words, I’d like to be able to advance in difficulty without that meaning I have advanced upper body strength. Regardless, thank you for this app!

I recommend this app 100%. I’ve used a few 7 minute workout apps and I’ve found this is the best, at least for iPhone users. Easy to bust out a workout anywhere in 7 minutes or as long as you want. It’s a great quick warm-up before stretching. Not only does it have the classic scientific seven minute workout, yet it also has its own “smart workouts” with over 100 different body weight exercises and Five tiers of intro to intense and you get to choose variable motivation levels though I don’t actually know what that does as I’ve always had it on 5! It’s easy to fit in a quickie, higher levels have multiple set smart workouts, and you can start one work out after another if you want to feel the burn of a longer workout. The smart workout will switch up the exercises to target all the various major muscle groups and stabilizers. I highly recommend this app!

Great Free App for Fitness. I am years overdue for writing this review. I started using this app in 2017 because I didn’t feel like dealing with all the nuances of going to the gym… Getting the clothes getting in my car and going to the gym working out having to drive home and then shower. I need something fast that I can do in my home and found this app. I started off on the seven minute program and gradually worked my way up to the 26 minutes. Lost 20 pounds with this along with the tone it up nutrition program. It works, it’s simple and it’s free!

Simple Exercise app. This app is SUPER simple in terms of set up and use. There is a set of body weight exercises to choose from, and you can make your own workouts by deciding number of cycles and amount of rest, but otherwise the workout structure is the same every time. I would like to see an update that allows users to see their progress through the entire workout, not just the current exercise, and also a way to alter the workout structure (eg more or less than 30 seconds of active time, only doing a few exercises but for more than three cycles, etc) for greater customization. Other than that this is still a very simplistic, easy to use app for beginner to intermediate users.

Great tool for in-house workouts. I had been doing rowing machine and weights in my house, but felt like I needed a shake up. I googled best 7-minute workout apps and this popped up! I do air play mirroring with apple tv so it shows up on the bigger screen. It is a little hard to learn exercises while holding the phone and DOING the exercising so that trick helped a lot. It is really simple and you can ramp up as you need. I'm pretty athletic and the moves were very challenging. For any push-up sections I use my Perfect Push-up handles and a modified stance, so you should feel free to make the moves work for what you can handle. I can't wait to work up to harder levels, it feels great and is such a welcome addition to the routine I'd gotten bored of.

Just what I needed. I've been using this for a few months and I love it. I use the Smart Workout feature. It is just like having a personal trainer in that the routine changes each time. It calibrates the intensity based on how you handled previous workouts. The time period that I'm at is about 20 minutes with a warmup which is perfect. I imagine that as I get fitter it will get longer. I also lift and bike so this is not my only exercise, but It fits the bill for a no equipment, do it anywhere, high intensity workout that is not boring

Great workout and app.. Love the workouts and being able to do multiple sets. I am still working up to four sets, three is tough. Smart workout is good as well but I like the original better as a cool down after lifting before stretching. Apple Watch integration is ok, would be nice if it could vibrate when the exercise ends so you don't have to keep looking at a screen. The other features are nice too but not necessary for me, such as motivation and suggestions. But I'm motivated already. Probably great for starters and the annual January crowds. Keep up the good work.

Exercise anywhere, any time. I started using this app when I was traveling a lot for work and didn’t always have access to a gym or enough time to find a safe running route. As a woman there were some places I just wouldn’t be safe to go for early morning or late night runs. I could do these in my hotel room in between work meetings without any equipment. Now that I don’t travel as much it’s a great way to get in a midday workout at home. I also love the blend of strength routines as a great addition to my usual running, swimming and biking to work on muscle strength without the need for expensive gym memberships.

JS. Short but effective. If you do the Smart Workout you will get many different exercises and up to 3 rounds that work all of your body. You can stick with the original 7 minute routine which is the same exercises and is only 7 minutes but The Smart Workout selects different exercises and adds rounds depending on your fitness level. You never get bored. 3 rounds takes about 25 minutes including warm up and cool down and that is still less time than what I was doing with P90X and you don’t need any equipment but a chair. Love this workout!

Good exercises, mediocre app.. The exercises are good with in the app, but there are a few things that the app could do much better: 1. In order for the app to continue operating, the screen must stay "alive." You can't turn your screen off because the app will stop. This means but if you touch the screen while exercising or put your phone in a pocket or holster, you are likely to screw up the app while exercising. Seems like a simple fix to allow the app to run in the background. 2. The app does not have a function to start a playlist while you're exercising, so you have to run your own music before starting the app. Other exercise apps have music selections with in the preferences/set up menu in the app. 3. After the last exercise the countdown timer simply ends, with no verbal caption saying "congratulations! Your workout has ended." For users that are using headphones and not looking at the screen, you can't really be sure that the workout has finished. 4. There are no visual diagrams or pictures of the exercises. That would be helpful for beginners. These changes would make this app better.

Suggestions. LOVE this app and the variety of exercise routines available, not to mention the challenge of the “Smart Workouts.” I also like the way our post-workout ratings of how easy or difficult each workout felt helps the app adapt Smart Workouts to our fitness level. Here are my ideas for a few improvements: allow users to create an account so that our workout history is synced across our devices; right now my iPad app and my iPhone app aren’t talking to each other. Allow us to post to FB or other platforms, and to choose which finished workouts we post. Also, would be nice to add some more workouts and an option to eliminate types of exercises, for those, for example who have bad shoulders.

Pretty good free app, no invasive ads. I use this app three times a week, and love it for the most part. Good, simple exercises with good instruction. One star off for lack of customization. One time the app decided on its own to bump my exercises from 20 minutes to 30. I couldn’t easily find a way to change it back, instead having to set my fitness level down and then do two 10-minute sets until the app bumped me back up to 20 minutes. Is annoying that I have to “game” the app to get the workout I want instead of being able to say “I want to do two cycles at level 2.” Other than that, it’s fantastic.

Like it, but have questions. Great little app, did it for first time today and liked it. Question for developer; why is there no option to play via Apple TV or other device? Love to watch on big screen. Also, when instructor says to do something for 30 second to one minute, he goes on to the next exercise before 30 seconds is even up. Are we supposed to stop the video? Update: just completed my 45th workout! Went from the 7 minute 1 cycle to the 3 cycles! I’ve see such improvement, my quads are so strong. I couldn’t do one push-up before, now I can almost do 10. I’d still love an answer to my last question above please? Wish I could make each exercise just a little longer, but then I’d lose my place in the workout.

Not for a 72 year old. In my twenties I swam, jogged and played tennis. Fifty years later my activity level is lower but I have been careful to protect my joints and tendons and I don’t need any knee or hip replacements. I won’t start doing anything now that could put my joints at risk. This 7-minute regimen is for a younger person who can do jumping jacks, push up, curls and that sort of thing. I need something lower key, so will search for tai chi or yoga exercises. IF, if, I had never stopped being active, I might be able to do these joint-tendon jarring exercises, but it would be stupid for me to just start doing them now out of the blue. Just like I won’t play pickle ball with my senior neighbors (tho most of them have been sidelined by injuries from that game).

Love this app. This app is useful for all fitness capacities. Love the work JnJ

Love it. Best free exercise app out there. Lots of options. Agree with some comments that upper body exercises can be a challenge, but that's what we are here for isn't it!

Love this. Great work out, easy to use, easy to follow!

Great mix off exercises been using for years. Great mix off exercises been using for years Would recommend to anyone looking for a workout from home app. I use most mornings before work it's a great way to start your day. Enjoy

Simple and effective. I have been using this app on and off for a couple of years now. It is uncomplicated and easy put on when I have time only for a quick workout. The instructions, both visual and audio are very clear. It gradually encourages me to increase the intensity and length of my workouts. I reckon I’m fitter for using it!

Videos won’t play. I cannot launch the videos I keep getting an error message that says- “Network unavailable Please check your Internet connection to play this video”

No Excuses. The seven-minute workout is proven again and again to be a great return on your investment of a tiny part of your day. This app has a great variety of variations to keep things interesting, and very clear narration and demonstration. There is only one person you need to impress. You. You’re going to die some day. Before that happens, do as much as you can to make this time count. No excuses. Do it.

Audio. Need to be able to incorporate a workout sound track

7 minute workout review. This workout program helps optimise your ability and really improves your core muscles.

Simple and Effective. Free, simple and suitable for any fitness level. I have felt my fitness improve through using this app. Even when I’m busy I know I can set aside 7 minutes, all I have to do is press a button and I’m guided through. The explanations for how to perform the exercises are great, and I love making customised workouts to suit my different needs.

Outstanding. Great design, simple to use, can be customised easily. Best of all, it’s free! Truly a wonderful app.

Still takes effort. The app is fine. But, I still need to sweat :-O

Good things are sometimes free!. Well designed and paced. Makes the most of that 7 minutes!

Great start to the day. I love how good I fee and how quick these exercises are!

This app has transformed my health. Excellent app that I rely on as an integral part of my overall health and wellbeing routine. Please bring back the ability to record a partly finished workout (eg completed 2/3 workout).

The Best- I do this infrequently and still fee the benefits- top most. I do this irregular and cannot

Great science based HIIT. This is a great body weight HIIT app. I particularly like the smart workout feature, including the warm up and cool down. Keep making this better J&J. A good community service, especially for those stuck at home in lockdowns, with no equipment etc. No excuses!

Great!. The app considers your own personal limits and gives challenges. I have only been using it for a short time and it is awesome so far

What a great gift. World leaders do 7 minutes of high intensity exercise per day - They wooukd love this app. Thanks for the referral Dr Laura McClellan

Needs better Apple Watch Interface. Overall a good app. But if you rely or use the Apple Watch, I would probably recommend using the Seven app. As the Seven app interfaces as a stand-alone on the watch and seems to cross sync with the Activity and Health Apps better. If they can get those issues sorted then I would give this app the win and 5 stars.

Great App. I love the app but wish there was an update to allow you start a workout program just from the Apple Watch without having to start the workout on the iPhone.

Just Brilliant. Customisable. Video Demonstrations.. Just Brilliant. Customisable. Video Demonstrations. Would happily pay for this but it’s FREE! Thank-you.

6 min workout. How do I change exercises as some don’t work with my pre-existing injuries

Whoa. It’s the best app for workouts you guys would love it if you think you need to do a bit of a workout. You should definitely get it. It pushes the birdies and it challenges you. I love it. ( GET IT )

Good for beginners. I’m 58 and just started a Keto diet 3 weeks ago. Now that I have lost 7kg this is a great workout to begin using those muscles that have been neglected for so long. I anticipate that this will be easy in 4 weeks time and it will then be time to move on. The videos are clear sound is excellent and overall an excellent app

Don’t cancel this app!. My husband and I love this app as it allows us to keep toned and fit while not having to leave the house. We have three small kids and they love trying to join in. We also love it that we don’t need any extra equipment. It’s been great and we’ll be sad to see it go.

Great app. A very helpful exercise app with varied exercises of different levels of intensity.

Love this app. I’ve enjoyed this app since discovering it at the end of November 2017. It’s a Great motivator !

This app is brilliant. It was a full body workout in 7 minuets!!!!!

Great work out for free. Highly recommend

Amazing app. I have just downloaded this app and I’m already loving it! Each workout starts with a warmup to get your muscles ready. We all have different levels of strength and flexibility so the first workout is to map your level. It is challenging but just enough to push your body to its limit! It’s free and I would recommend it to anyone who feels like they need to do more fitness.

Quick all over body workout. If you are ever short of time in the morning - this is a great all over body work out. I do prefer being outside for exercise- but if that is not possible this is a great option

Worth getting for sure. Love it. It's simple, effective and does what it's supposed to with tips more useful than some personal trainers (people) out there!

Excellent App. Love the smart workouts and the variety offered. The videos and instructions are really helpful with good tips to make sure you are doing the exercise correctly. I also really like the fact that the workouts get harder as I get stronger and increase the level of difficulty. Most of all, I love that it is 7 minutes, so even on the days I feel unmotivated, I tell myself "it's only 7 minutes" and do it anyway.

Well designed and adaptable. Very welcome variant for my exercise regime

Best work out app on market. Does it says on the label for free and it’s easy to use! Who knew.

Great HIIT workouts. Great HIIT app. Stick with it and use the Hard workouts. Improved my fitness significantly and burns fat.

Don’t retire this app!. Please come retire this App. It helps people to achieve fitness. Why would J&J take away something so beneficial?

Wow. I have tried heaps of these. As a beginner it is the only one to include an optional warm up and cool down that I have found without having to navigate to a different section. The screen is great and easy to. Love this app.

Best exercise app. One of the best app for simple workouts

Still the best workout app. Without for the whole body. Guys to time limit. Smart workout is automatic, customised and effective. Can’t beat it.

Great exercise app. Great exercise app to get your heart pumping. Watch app needs tweaking. App needs to run on watch without iPhone screen open & start end Hispanic notifications on watch.

No Ads - Quality exercises - More than 7m. Been using this app for about 5 years now. When my fitness slips this is so easy to get into. I have tried other apps. Honestly everything you need is here

Excellent. Best 7 minute workout app I have used. Particularly good when not really motivated - it's short and focussed. Great way to get back into exercise after a break.

Okay, but limited for beginners. I enjoyed the app but find it somewhat limited for beginners and those getting back to exercise after a long break. The lower body work was almost too easy and the push-ups were way too difficult for most beginners. Diamond push-ups for beginners? Worse for me as I have a chronic shoulder injury and push-ups are a no-no. Most other programs have at least some alternative.

Do anywhere. No need for equipment so can do it anywhere and whilst travelling

Data privacy alarm bells. Study the details and you’ll alarmed at how they milk your most private health data and then share it with whoever they want. J&J - you are not doing the reputation of big pharma any good.

Great Fitness Guide. Would be lost without this guide. Am gradually getting fitter. And all at home !

Great free app that actually works!. Great free app that actually works!

7M workout review. I found this excellent as I’m quite a lazy person but it was a great way to do some physical exercise, I recommend it for everyone.

Terrific. A great app. Keeping me healthy. Helps to maintain core strength, which I’d be losing otherwise just due to aging.

A must have. Great workouts for when I don't have time or motivation for gym. Still at it. Thank heavens for internet or cellular when travelling! 21 minutes later and I'm done, ready to enjoy the day in the sunshine! 🌞🌞

So far so good. I just started but am I ever sweating! Which I guess that is a good thing!

Amazing. This app is absolutely amazing. No caption needed

Straight forward and Easy to use. Amazing app , easy to use , plenty of exercises and options to choose from. You can select pre populated variety of exercise routines from beginner to advanced or you can build your own custom exercises based on your requirement. Look no further if you want to do home based exercises with no fancy equipment and just the body weight.

Good moderate workouts. My doctor recommended this app so I’ve been giving it a try. Need to make sure you have a sturdy chair available for some of the exercises. Gets the heart rate up but not too much.

Awesome way to work out. The customizable features kept me motivated and fit during my lockdown for free! thank you guys very much grateful

7 min workout. Who can’t find 7 min before breakfast and leaving for work? It’s only 7 min. That’s what I tell myself and it works....the only time I don’t do it is when I am going for the 12 day shift. I also do it WITH the 1 min warmup and 1 min cool down. I started doing real pushups, not modified, about a year into the routine. My husband and I do it together !!! THANKYOU so much for the wonderful plan...so easy to follow!

So sad to see this app is winding down!. I’ve really enjoyed using this app to get a regular burst of exercise post partum and through lockdown. I also live in a rural area with no access to a commercial gym and so this workout was my saving grace!

Perfect balance. A perfect balance of time and effort. It’s not too long, so it’s not boring. It’s a full body workout, so a couple of times a day is probably a really good effort. And you can do it anywhere.

First time in years. Started with the beginner exercises which I found to be difficult due to not exercising for many years. Wanted to focus on strength and endurance working out slowly, this seems to be the perfect up for me. We will see as time progresses with I’m sure will be positive results.

Great app!. Use this app almost everyday. Lost over 25lbs! But PLEASE bring back the option of allowing the user to change rest duration and the number of cycles (in smart workout) as it used to have...

Amazing, nothing but amazing. This app is so good and the fact that you can create you own workouts and set you R workout time is the best. It’s the best fitness app I’ve ever had. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Amazing app. Thank you

An you support more languages. Or just add subtitles for other languages, like Chinese?

Well designed, fun, motivating. The Smart workouts tailor themselves to an individual’s needs. The brevity of the workouts can fit into anyone’s schedules. Two suggestions for improvements: 1. Allow user to replay an exercise, because it can take the whole exercise just to learn the moves and correct position. 2. In the space between each exercise, indicate which items (chair, wall etc) will be needed, as well as which basic position (standing, prone etc), so the user can get prepared. This could just be with words, or simple icons. This app is a keeper!

More experience. I do these a lot and their always the same one

Life changer. The

Best 7min. This is far the best 7min wo I ever tried. Vid and aud are nice and clear intruc. Set is easy to do. No ads total free.

Tough but fair. Hard to see how 7 min can fit everything in body wise and this workout seems to.

A great app.. This is my go to app when pressed for time. At the end of cool down, app should sound when it’s all done, it doesn’t.

The HIT workout app for you!. Easy to use. Many levels. Clear instructions. Video to Make sure you use proper form. On my 30th workout and awesome results so far!

Simple and effective. Nothing fancy just simple and effective workouts that build in intensity as your fitness improves.

Fabulous. This app is great. Great workouts. No ads.

Don’t go!. 1200 exercises and counting! Shame to hear the app is going to be sunset December 2023. Can you make it open source? Happy to continue!

Really ideal. Perfect if you want to begin exercice yourself, or if you want to comeback at exercice after a long break period and perfect when you travel for a quick workout in your hotel room!!

Great app!. Same thing on Apple TV would be nice!

In shape. It’s great because it gets me into a good shape. I am 10

Wow!. Like having your personal trainer! And so many workouts to choose from, with a timer. And I play Spotify in the background, and it works like a charm. And did I say that it’s free! 🤙🤙🤙

My Go To Workout App. I’ve been using this app now for over 5 years. It’s a vital part of my workout routine. I was able to go from beginner to extreme using the Smart Workout feature. In my opinion the Smart Workouts are the best part of the app.

Best exercise app. I was able to change my body within 2 months Amazing and for free

Solid and clear workout. I am absolutely a fan of this workout, the video and instruction is extremely clear and straightforward plus the timeframes match my schedule perfectly!

Perfect for body weight exercising. Easy to use, clear instructions. I love the mix of short, medium and long workouts. Very suitable for any time table. I’ve recommended this app to many friends. Four stars only because of the lack of stretching exercises for cool downs. They need a much better variety of stretches.

Perfect work out. I love this work out for the variety of exercises and the fact they are switched up from work out to work out. I would like to be able to do two cycles not one or three and have it remain at that level without trying to increase the intensity or reduce it and yet still maintain variety each time. Is that possible? What have been doing is to have it at one cycle not level up and then do the one cycle a second time with a different set of exercises. But that’s awkward. Anyway, bottom line it’s a great app! Thank you. Too bad it’s linked to Johnson and Johnson!

Old school calisthenics. Loving it. I’m a 65 year old who loves the simplicity of the exercises and the basic instructions. I’m sticking with the original 7 minute routine until I have good form in all of the exercises. Lots of progressions to move into after that. The warmup and cooldown are also excellent. For those of us who aren’t trying to be an athlete, but just want to keep on doing the things we love.

Great Routine. Work different exercises help to body to fell relax..!!! I like and something important, can mix with your playlist..🤨

Clear concise direct routine. I like the basic straight forward no nonsense presentation. The app has a good video for each exercise and pleasant hints to insure proper execution of the individual exercise while doing it.

Fairly good. Really good excersice best to get extra energy out

No Gym? No worries. Great way to get and stay fit without the usual gym equipment.

Can’t believe it’s free!. Great app! Super easy to use. It has everything you need (and nothing extra/unnecessary, which is absolutely great!) I love how it lets you customize your own workouts. Highly recommended!! To be honest, I’m mildly disappointed with the Apple Watch app, though… ☹️

Can turn off sounds!. This app seems to be very similar to most of the other apps with the same premise however I have gone through a lot of apps because a lot of them force you to listen to audio instructions or whistling and beeping. This app will let you do that, but also let’s you turn it off so if you only want the visual cue and your music it is perfect!

Please don’t retire this app. This is such an awesome little app to help with general health and fitness. I hope it continues somehow. Thanks in any event

As difficult as you need!. I really like this app. We’ve used it intermittently for years. From easy to really challenging excercises. Keeps me motivated, a good focus on the core, and I feel great (and drenched) especially after the 20-25 min workouts. The 7 minute ones are great when time is tight. One thing, is I wish there were a few more exercises that focus on the back, but then again, I’m not sure I could handle the additional challenges.

Love the No Asking for information!. Finally an app that doesn’t hassle you for email and personal info. Straightforward and excellent! I love it so much!

Love the Workout , but have a request. Wonderful workout and I’m finally seeing results again after switching to your app. The mix up of exercises is fantastic. I would love it if you were able to put an option of how many cycles we are able to complete. With time constraints, I am just not able to complete 3 cycles, so I manually stop at 2, but it doesn't let me track my progress or give me the cool down. Thanks for a great app!!!

Goodbye Excuses. This is workout can be done anywhere, anytime by even the busiest person. A great way to get in a full body workout. Would be even better if it interfaced with Spotify

This is a FREE app?!?. Seriously, a fantastic app that responds dynamically to your fitness level as you progress. Definitely with the download and a trial period. Once I had it a few weeks, I totally abandoned the other 7-minute workout app I had been using for the last two years.

App stopped tracking heart rate. Makes it useless to me

Wishing for a landscape mode. Love the app! It helps me keep my workout routine because of how quick and easy the moves are. I just wish they’d have a landscape mode for iphone because that’s how my phone stands up.

Best workout app. Keeps in great shape!

Best of the options I've tried. Of all the quick/easy work-out apps I've tried, I think this on is by far the best. The "smart workout" is my favorite as it doesn't require anything from me, just gives me a great workout at my level. I be been doing this a few times a week for over a year and feel more fit than I've been in 15 years! Basically, it's easy, and it really works.

Best thing for my fitness! But latest version has a bug!. This app has been a huge boon to my fitness. I love the workouts! I do one of the 7 minute workouts before work on weekdays and longer ones on the weekends. The most recent version (since May 16) has a bug, in which the same exercises get repeated within a cycle, and the workout lengths have doubled. (E.g., the "original seven minute workout" is now 14 minutes.) Please fix! I depend on you!

7-minute workout. These workouts are helpful for me. Variety of exercises, warmups and cool downs. I do not have time to do something for myself, but these exercises help me a great deal. Taking care of a family elder, and though trying at times; these exercises help me with my daily activities. Thank you. It has been a couple of months missed. These exercises are very helpful. Lost my big brother in June, I knew I needed to get back to exercising to help me with ADL! Thank you!!

First work out. This was my first workout with the app! I can’t believe that I broke a sweat in 9 mins. It was helpful to have a voice guide and video to view to ensure I was doing the exercise correctly. It was a good start at my fitness level! I do wish that prior to getting started there was a list of items needed for the workout, like a chair. I had one in the room I was in but had to pause app to ensure chair was stable to step up on. By the way love the pause feature. Overall I’m very pleased! I look forward to more!

Fantastic. I have been using the app consistently for 7 months and can attest that it has had a significant impact on my overall health. What’s more, it has been great for cross training as I also run. I hit a 5km PR recently of 21:11 and looking to break 20 this year with the help of this app. Only feature request is that I would like to create custom 3-cycle workouts, where each cycle is a different set of exercises. UPDATE: Adding support for attaching a Bluetooth heart rate monitor and displaying it prominently in-app would be great too

Just started HIIT. I just started to use HIIT. This is a great app. I was am doing weights 3 days a week and usually cardio two days. When I started this, it was great, able to upgrade my levels. On weight day I do the 7 min workout to get my body warmed up. The only thing I question is if the 7 min could change. It is the same every time. When I do the smart work out it is great. Not same routine every time. I can tell a difference in my body and it’s only been a couple of weeks.

Great app that can gradually get you fit. Wonderful app that has helped this 50+ guy get back in shape. It gives you a good mix of strength, flexibility, and cardio. When I first started at 55 I could not even do a push-up except from my knees. So, I took it easy but kept at it and within several weeks I could do them all. If you want to keep getting stronger and more limber, do the Smart workouts. They will keep you challenged.

Best app for longer (than 7 min.) HIIT workouts. Great combinations of full-body exercises, with many programs of varying durations and difficulty. You can pick them manually if you want, or you can let the app serve them up semi-randomly, based on how you said you did with the last one. Very professional demo videos and voice queues. Can’t be beat, except by a full human trainer program.

Need heart rate and calorie information. This is an amazing app for working out but I had to rate it a 3 because it doesn’t seem to do what I need it to do: track my heart rate and calories burned using the Apple Watch. At first my workouts didn’t show up at all in Workouts. I tinkered with it and they appear now but no calories count toward my rings. The app doesn’t even request heart rate data so you can’t grant access to it. Also, the font and font size used in the app are hard to read on the Apple Watch. I don’t mind starting the workout on the phone but the watch app needs to take over in guiding the workout.

Quick Morning Pickup. Heard about this from a friend that does it every am and pm. Now it's part of my morning routine 4 days a week when getting to the gym isn’t possible. Noticed my whole body is improving and I see the result in my Taekwondo. Stronger body, strong kicks and fast reaction time. Also, my little kids think it’s funny to join along. Use it as a quick reset to our day if the energy down and attitudes are negative. We are laughing by the end.

Everyone has 7 minutes for a workout!. I started with this workout after losing weight and looking for a strength and cardio exercise program. With lockdowns, working from home was the only option. My daughter recommended this app and I’m glad she did. You should try it! Start with a seven minute workout and work up to the smart workout. Don’t be afraid to increase the difficulty. Good luck!

Found it for the 7 minute workout, kept using it for the Smart Workout. The Smart Workout automatically does 2 cycles that last about 18 minutes, about 20 minutes with warm up. It rotates different exercises through over time & keeps things at a good fitness level for me. Great app if you want to use the 7 Minute Workout or longer variants as a regular part of your workout routine. I use them so I can always squeeze in a workout, no matter what the weather or my schedule issues.

Best value, small workout throughout the day. I love this program that was developed for the military years ago. I am a procrastinator and if I have to set aside a lot of time to workout, I’ll usually skip it. These brief 7-min workouts are so effective and I find myself fitting them in throughout my day, even on a lunch break at work. They are a great stress reliever, too. I feel very invigorated after each small workout.

Great workout app, watch app could be better. 7M workout is probably the best app of its kind. I especially like the smart workout option which mixes up the exercises in the circuit. However, I don't know why it doesn't ask to read heart rate (and calorie) data. This would be especially useful in gauging how to optimize the circuit for each user according to their fitness level. At the very least, it'll complete the record for a workout. Hope they get this done soon.

Great home interval workout app. Really well-designed app for home or gym interval workouts. The video demonstrations are clear and helpful the first few time you do a new exercise. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to add a simple beep/tone for the exercises where you need to switch sides/legs/etc in the middle. Currently the timer flashes red to tell you to change, but if you have your phone in an armband for workouts it is difficult to keep an eye on the screen, so an audio cue would be really useful.

Spyware. I want my money back. After an update the app is now disabled unless an account is created and an email and personal information provided. Their “privacy” statement says that they will share your information with advertisers (etc) and that they will collect information on you from “other” sources, such as your web browsing activity. This is just spyware. Companies should be forced to refund your purchase when they disable it after purchase. The same thing happened with the other fitness app that I bought. I used it a few times and then, suddenly, it was disabled until I created an account and allowed them to monitor me (MAC, IP address, web browsing activity, etc.). Awful. Total scam.

The exercise app I have been searching for. I do not enjoy going to the gym even if I did have the time. I have been searching for years for a way to get a full body workout in my home without the need for expensive equipment that will take up space. This is perfect for my lifestyle. I have been using this for about a year and have over 100 workouts and I’m in the best shape of my life. My Dr noticed my improved fitness and will be recommending this app to his other patients.

Great app. But Needs some simple additions. Love this app. But would be much better if it had forward and repeat and random settings like a music app. They should think of the workout moves like songs in an album. You could have favorites and the ability to repeat and skip moves. Also would be nice to know where you are in the routine. Is this move five of ten or three of twenty? Also better pictures of the example exercise would be nice

Best, most complete, 7 minute work out app. This has the standard 7-minute workout. It also has a huge collection of other workouts that vary by time, physical level, and goals. There is also a workout generator based on ability and motivation. Free, complete, and great. You don't need any other 7-minute workout app, and could get away with having just this one for all your health-maintaining exercise needs.

Bad Sign-in UX, kills great app. The workout aspect of the app is great. But the app too often reboots, requiring sign-in- instead of using fingerprint. You have to type in your email, and try to remember password. When you forget the password and have it emailed, the temporary one does not work. One second send of temporary one, the password is sent as an image and therefore you need to hunt down a pencil to write it down : SgcE$^*V3u and it still doesn’t work. WhAts the point of so many restrictions for accessing a 7 min workout app when you take half hour trying to sign in? Why can’t it just take fingerprint ID like every other app????

Great App, a little watch refinement would help. The only thing missing from the app is that it doesn't use some of the features of watchOS 3, like being able to track heart rate and keep the app in the forefront while a workout is active, like my running app. Make that change and it will be near perfect! Update: anyone else wonder why they don’t assign a calorie value to the workouts? I use LoseIt to balance calorie intake for the day and it registers the workout from Apple Health but gives no calorie credit as the 7 Minute app doesn’t assign one when writing the activity to Apple Health?

A great mix of exercises, good for my flexibility, super convenient when I travel. I love the great mix of exercises, how the app cues you, and switches it up. I’m a military professional, and I’m very fit, but this helps me with my flexibility. And when you kick it up a notch it becomes a great high intensity workout. This is very useful to me as I travel a lot,And I don’t always have access to a decent gym. I don’t use this app every day but when I do use it it’s a great tool!

Disappointing update. Well I used to really like this app but since the last update, they've required you to register and hand over your personal info. While they've stated the change was requested by their users, it is obvious to anyone with a pulse that the real reason is to collect our data and use it for advertising/marketing reasons. If this wasn't so, they'd still offer the app with a registration bypass for those of us that don't want to give all our info for a 7 minute workout. I get it because ads drive revenue but it should be an option, not a requirement. It's unfortunate because I did enjoy using this app. Now I'll be using another one.

Great Workout Options!. 63 years old and exercising since I was 15. The workouts are different enough to never get bored. Combined with a 5k run every other day and this app will keep you tuned up. Anyone who does the hardest workout and doesn’t rate it as very difficult is simply not putting in 100% effort. At my age it’s all about maintenance to keep doing things I like to do. Eat good, workout good and think good...the universe will answer back in dividends.

Edit: the app is working, I love it again. I used to use regularly, but I haven’t used in several months. I was always happy with the app. Tried getting back into it due to quarantine, but every time I try to log in I get “error.. request timed out”. I tried even reregistering with a new email address and I have the same issue. I never even logged out, I had selected to remember me so it’s frustrating I had to log in again to begin with. Seems like I can’t use the app. Edit: it works again, happy appy

Absolutely the best free HIIT app available. I really can’t say enough good about this. PROS: Highly customizable workouts, demonstrated exercises with live tips, tons of different exercise moves to choose from, big audible timer, preprogrammed levels of difficulty to chose from, tracking tool, great non-cluttered look, AND FREE!!! CONS: no onscreen/integrated BPM from Apple Watch, limited music integration for iPhone, must create a login I absolutely recommend this for 2-4 times a week in between bike and/or treadmill workouts.

Works for me. Thank you Johnson & Johnson. A brief, effective exercise routine I can do in my pj's, and I am actually doing it faithfully every other day. The last is the most important. It is the FIRST time I have kept with morning exercise, and there are no excuses. At 61yo, it is definitely body maintenance time. The routine remains challenging. I do the warm-up and cool-down faithfully as well. Eighteen minutes, and I am good to go the rest of the day.(I do work on hip flexor and stationary lunges the alternate day). The improvement in emotional and physical well-being are worth getting up a little earlier.

Great workout program!. This may be the one of the first of this type of programs. I have followed with this program for probably 11 to 12 years. Great program! I don’t need to spend 40 min driving go to gym to achieve my fitness goal. I just simply follow the routines suggested here, and get it done in my bedroom, and I can easily get into intensive heart beats. With it, my resting heart rate keep drifting down, I cured the knee problems I had over many years by doing wall-sit…. Keep the good work!

So close…just a few improvements needed. Great app. Helps me get a more rounded workout. Two small enhancements would be wonderful. 1) Add more variety to the warm ups and cool downs. 2) Show the demo of the next exercise in the 8 seconds between exercises. I frequently have to wait and see what the exercise is so I end up cutting a few short or pausing the exercise while I catch up… You may even want to add an option to work out with weights…

Super app with customization and motivation. Best 7 minute app so far and it is free!!! Start with the recommended set then move on to customize your own workouts. I am trying to do this forever and make it part of life forever to live a healthy life and fit body. Update 5/11: still using this as my main workout weekly, lost 10 lbs and lost 2 size down for my pants. I love that now all my customized workout routines are sync on all my devices (iPhone and iPad).

Excellent 7 min workout app, pls fix edit button. I love this app, primarily because of the create your own workout function. I value being able to adjust the workouts for intensity and to vary my workouts so I don’t die of boredom. However, the EDIT button embedded in the custom workouts is completely non-functional, which renders one of the reasons I like this app so much also non-functional. We’ve been using the workouts almost every day during the pandemic, and I think my fitness has actually improved. (!) Please fix!

Love it! Love it!. This is one of the best apps for exercise!! You can pick a routine based on a busy or lazy day. I also that the fact that exercises aren't always the same. For example, on one of the smart workouts, I had to stop in the middle of a session and start again. The exercises were different than the previous routine. The workout library is great as well; it gives you the flexibility to choose what type of workout you want.

Almost, but no. I’ve used several 7 minute workout apps, and I really thought this might be the one. Most of them hide in-app purchases or subscriptions to gain full functionality, but this one seems fully functional in the free version (although I’m sure there’s some data harvesting going on, as it requires you to create an account and sign in). Real downfall is the lack of connectivity to the Health app. It’ll log the activity, but always shows no heart rate, and zero calories. I’m not mad, Johnson & Johnson, I’m just disappointed. You can do better.

Sad to see you go. I have been a regular user of this workout for the past five years - recently completing my 1000th session. The App got me back into exercising regularly and made me a true believer in the importance of a regular physical fitness program. So I was saddened to see the news that J&J will terminate the app at year end. If there is any way to download a legacy version that I could continue to run on my iPad, I would love to hear about it.

App No Longer Saving Workouts/Unable to Log-In. I used this app every day and loved being able to look at my history for motivation to continue my almost 3-month streak of daily exercise. Unfortunately today it stopped saving my workouts. I tried uninstalling the app and re-installing and logging out of my account and back in. Unfortunately it even let me log back in to continue doing workouts. I just get an error message saying the request has timed out. Going to need to find a new app for daily workouts, which is so sad because I loved this app and saw a lot of progress using it.

Fabulous workouts. I use this multiple times a week personally. And as an Endocrinologist, I recommend it to multiple patients a day. It is completely free, so no risk to try. It has workouts for the very beginner to far advanced. The tutorial videos are easy to use. It is simple to stick with. I personally began seeing visible improvements within 3-4 weeks. I wholeheartedly recommend this.

Hate the upgrade. I used to use this app on days when I couldn't make it to the gym. It was great for that. Now I need to set up an account. With a password. Make that a strong password, just in case the Russians want to hack my exercise profile. I don't want to stay signed in, sucking up my data and losing my privacy. I also don't want to spend even one minute signing in every time, because the whole point of this app is/was time efficiency. If there was an option to bypass the account option I would still be using this app. But now I'm deleting it.

Great app with lots of great workouts for all levels. Awesome workouts ranging from 7 minutes up to about 30 that vary in challenge from easy to difficult. All of them get the heart up and push muscles. Some of them are breathtaking and will leave you panting on the ground afterwards. If you’re looking for a quick sweat for 7 minutes or a dog tough slog for 30 this is a great app with exercises you can do anywhere with almost no equipment necessary. A chair and a Wall is all you will need.

I’ve used this workout app for years. I’m 64 and have been using this app for at least 3 years. I’ve worked my way up to “Advanced Progression” and alternate this with running on other days. The variety of skill levels and customization options are great. There’s sound science behind mixing intervals with body weight and aerobic exercises. It’s now a permanent part of my fitness program and I’m probably as fit now as ever, including the days years ago when I ran marathons once a year.

Great app, having issues with smart workout. I live in a remote area of a slightly dangerous country and this app is a lifesaver because I can’t run outside or go to the gym/classes. Highly recommended! I usually do the smart workout, as I like to do more than one cycle automatically. Unfortunately recently the smart workout has stopped giving me more than one cycle. Is there a reason for this? Before I would get two cycles every time. Any help would be great, thanks!

Love it but add a calendar!. I’ve been using this app for over a year and love it. It’s easy to create a custom workout of exercises of my choice and the instruction, both video and audio, are clear and helpful. My one suggestion to developers: I wish the workout log was in the form of a calendar so I could see which days I’ve completed (or missed!) my workout. The list view isn’t user friendly.

Best workout app ever. I have been using this app for about a year and it's been great! I honestly don't even go to the gym, i use this app about 3-5 times a week along with yoga and my body is much stronger than before, I feel so confident about my body thanks to this app! My favorite thing about this app is that you really don't need any tools or equipment, sometimes you might need a chair but that's it, everyone needs to try this app!

Awesome. For short burst exercises this app is just about perfect. Clear directions. Easy to follow graphic of a guy doing the exercises. And a cool circle of red dots that keeps time. Optional warm up and cool down exercises. An optional double workout. Maybe I'm missing it but we would be nice to have a timer to keep track of the full seven minute cycle. Would also be nice to rotate in more ab exercises at a slightly higher ratio. In my experience there is usually just one per cycle. But all in all it's great.

Great app. I have used this app for many years and love it. About a week ago, it give me an error whenever I try to save the workout data at the end. It gives me the same error when I try to skip saving it. The only way to exit the app is to force close it. Seems like it is out of storage but I can’t find any way to fix it. Need developer help.

Great Exercise App. I love this app. I can do as little as I want to so much more. I also love that I can customize a workout too. One thing that I wish they had was something for injuries. I am beginning to have knee problems and the orthopedic doctor told me no squats or lunges. It would be great to list injuries to have it customize a workout based on that or at least have more alternatives. I love the full body workouts they offer, but it would be even better if I could work around my knee problems.

Love it, but could be even better. I absolutely love this app. The only thing I think would make it so much better is if you were able to share the workouts you’ve made with other people who have the app. My whole family uses this app on separate devices, and sometimes one of us creates a workout that someone else likes. It would be so much easier to be able to share that workout instead of having to recreate it on their own device.

Have been using this app for a year.... And really like it. I like being able to chose a longer or shorter routine based on the time I have available. I feel all of the routines cover everything and have improved my overall strength and fitness. I'd like it if the image was available before the exercise started to remind me what to do, rather than wait until it begins. I sometimes just substitute exercises for the ones I don't like, as the app does not eliminate them. Overall, this has been a big help to me and I've recommended it to others. Thanks!

Still another. . . . signup, personal info, account, password, etc. to do a workout? This harvesting of personal info, especially by big companies is what created the latest Facebook Scandal. Do we really need an App to “help” us with everything we do in this life? Is it really so difficult to exercise without staring at the iPhone? Is memorizing the routine that tough? The more apps of this kind we see the more apparent it becomes what a clever method they are to easily gather contact and other personal info, from a gullible public more than willing to “sign up,” yet again, for something that will probably quickly fall into disuse.

Great intro to intervals!. This app is a great intro the interval workout and I love that it offers more than just the standard 7 minute routine The Smart Workouts provide a great daily challenge - just wish you had the option of changing the number of cycles or duration of each workout so that you can switch it up depending on the day’s schedule Great way to make yourself do some kind of workout daily regardless of time constraints

Some customization would be nice. This app is really useful for staying active during and outside of quarantine. I would like to see some more options regarding the customizations: 1. Change the order of exercises in the custom workout 2. When selecting exercises for the custom workout, have the whole list of exercises to choose from instead of selecting 3 mandatory ones from the whole body category before being able to select an exercise for a different part of the body. 3. Change the time in between the exercises. For the classic 7 minute one it’s 5 seconds. Would be nice to make changes. 4. The instruction video recommends doing 3 cycles of the 7 minute workout, but you can’t set the amount of cycles for the workout. I tried recreating the classic 7 minute workout so it’s 3 cycles, but due to the restrictions above this isn’t possible. All in all I do enjoy the app. Kind Regards, Vince
