Deleted within 2 hours. The 3D graphics are nice & that’s about it. I prefer slow-paced games, but this one is just frustrating. Not relaxing to me. Maybe it’s because it lacks variety.

Love it. Not only is Shadowmatic beautiful, it makes you think out of the box. You have to use your imagination to figure out the shapes. So happy and I am new to games.

The basketball player level is terrible. In the beginning everything is fine and interesting, until the two parts combination and three parts combination appeared. Please, people play games to have fun, not to suffer, I don't need another Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy thank you I normally just spend 1 min on 1 puzzle, however I spend 7 min to get the basketball player puzzle in the right place when I already knew the result image. Nop I didn't feel happy at all when I finished it I only felt extremely furious and frustrated and fatigued and started to hate life

Microtranactions?. Shadowmatic is a really good game and I understand the $4 price tag, but really, I have to pay another $1 to get more levels? If people pay $4 for a game they shouldn’t be paying more money for the full game

Remembering childhood games again. Watching shapes made from shadows, making tricks with the light is perhaps mankind’s oldest games. This updates a caveman past time to challenging, creative modern art. Highly addictive, highly recommended.

Awesome Fun Game!. Every since I bought this game. I was sooo happy I did, and I still am. This has got to be one of the most creative game I’ve played for a while. If someone’s reading this and they’re considering buying this game. You totally should! I think it’s totally worth the money.

For right handed people only. Great game but what about the south paws who hold the phone in their right hand and have to rotate the objects on the right side? Should be an option to reverse the image with the shadow on the right side

Shadowmatic Review. First the negatives. I paid $3.99+tax for the game. I paid another $.99 + tax for hints. I also paid &1.99 + tax for the other part of game. I would prefer to pay at one time for the game. If I am purchasing a game the hints should be free. A one set price would be better. Most of the really good games I purchased are like that. The positives about the game. Very challenging Tricky Kept my interest Background music was nice Graphics good Themes were helpful In order to complete the puzzles I had to cheat some and look at the finish product to have an idea of what I was building. It was still all the above even with the extra help! I gave it the Five Stars because it was fun - a little too costly but fun!

Progress meter not working. New Other World. I solve yet no progress bar with lights and dings to show how close to solution

Need a bit of work. It’s a really good game I respect it and I love it, but the fact that I paid for it and it has the most simple annoyance is a bit irritating. Please fix the fact that it doesn’t always register the picture if it’s not perfect because I’ve sat here for a while before tryna get it when I have the picture right but I have to inch a little piece over the smallest bit.

Hard for lefties. I love this game but it would be great if there was an option to put the objects on the left so left handers could see what they’re doing.

Loved it until I got to 3 piece puzzles. Was really enjoying this game. Loved it! Until I got to the level where they introduce 3 piece puzzles with a tutorial. I cannot move any of the pieces. There's no way to get around it either. Every choice I make kicks me back to this tutorial. AND THE PIECES WON'T MOVE! Would love my money back.

Does not work on New Apple TV 4K. Bought this app. played it once for a few levels and then the next day selected it to play with my son and the app would not open. Deleted, downloaded again and same thing. The app won’t open. Even tried opening it from the App Store and it didn’t do anything. Very disappointing. Could be a great game for parents and kids to play together.

So much to play. It is very relaxing and playful , you can waste so much time on this game and it is worth it!! Well done developer

Wth. You need to fix level 6.6. I know it’s a lock and I have it set yet it will not align up with the loop on the lock. Both the pieces that you can move don’t want to cooperate.

Solid game. The puzzles are well done and the difficultly scales nicely. For a relaxing game it's delightfully frustrating at times. You very much have to achieve the "aha" moment. Their is little room for strategy, though some is essential. Buy it. It's worth having.

Amazing game. Definitely one of the best puzzle game. Relaxing background music, loads of levels, challenging secrets and so on. Highly recommending this game.

Ipad display. There is some black edge on the latest iPad Pro, it would be great if it is full screen

Amazing Game. This game is a creative masterpiece! The graphics and the mechanics and everything in this game shines. The clues, the hints, the ones with 2 pieces. It's a fun, interesting concept that is executed in a nearly flawless manner. The hints are reasonable, even if they do have micro transactions, and I adore the different themes and levels. However what makes this one of the best games in the App Store is the small, little touches. For example, you can move the stage slightly by tilting the iPhone. It's not really game mechanic, but it's a really neat touch. It's just so polished!

Delightfully zen. I love this app and it reminds me of the shadow art that has recently become popular

Good game. I enjoy figuring out the puzzles. Challenges my senior mind and keeps it active!

Annoying. This game is supposed to be relaxing. But it quickly becomes frustrating and annoying. The shapes become so abstract, you have no idea what shadow they’re supposed to make. And if you do figure them out, the feeling is not very satisfying. I can’t recommend it, and wouldn’t buy it again.

Resume doesn’t work. Unable to pause/resume. It does pause but the vast majority it restarts the game rather than resuming.

Shadowmatic. This has to be the most imaginative game I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing, not to mention the 2nd level mind bending puzzle you will want to find and solve. I had to write the designers of the game for those clues, which added a level of challenge for me, which I loved. My only complaint if you’d call it a complaint is when will the next update arrive, I used to check weekly then monthly and now yearly my excitement is waning. So please, if there’s going to be more updates could you make them soon. I have received a pretty bad prognosis and would really like to enjoy the newest update while I can, I’ve been told these type games are a great form of stimulus for my ailments. I just really want to let your designers know what a great game they’ve made along with a grateful “lifelong” fan of Shadowmatic!!

Gorgeous. This is a beautiful and challenging puzzle game. I sell electronics for a living and I always use this game to demonstrate the iPad capabilities!

Creative game!. Never get tired of playing this game. Unlike most other games the challenges don’t get so hard that you stop playing.

Different. Very unique and therapeutic like. The theme changes are fun too. This is the only thing I spend my spare time on.

Great game, but unfortunately unbeatable now.. This is a fun little puzzle game with a unique mechanic, unfortunately the shadow projection in area 2 is bugged so it doesn’t show up on screen, making finding the shapes impossible without literal blind guessing. And, since you need to play at least part of level 2 to beat the game, the game is now impossible. Can’t give it more than 1 star for that; should it get fixed imagine this is a 4-star review.

The dots don’t work anymore. I came back yo the game after a while and even after completing some puzzles the dots don’t shine anymore. It was the fun mechanic of the game but I think somehow it’s totally gone?

Awesome. I was actually disappointed when I finished most of the levels (there’s one pesky one that’s got me)! This game is great, you rotate pieces to create a silhouette of an object. Kept me enthralled for quite awhile. Please, PLEASE, make another one! So good!

Wonderfully relaxing and engaging.. I do not usually write reviews on games. This is a different animal altogether though. Between the very soothing music, the challenge that makes you focus and have every thing else meltaway, plus the sheer, FUN, EASY (at times) challenge of it. All of those converge into one wonderful gaming experience. I've never, like I said, rated a game. But this? Buy the full version. You'll be happy you did. I promise!

Great game, may cause not breathing. My go-to time killer. Fun, intuitive, provides a challenge without being painfully frustrating. Unfortunately, I have a bad habit of holding my breath when I’m close to a solution. Don’t do that.

Relaxing,magical & other worldly. I love this game. It doesn’t really even feel like a game it’s so hypnotic. Actually the word sweet comes to mind, like playing with shadows as a kid on your bedroom wall. Time sort of suspends and wonder takes over.

Stumbled upon this game. Was looking for a puzzle game and this was not at all what I had in mind, but glad I found it.

Much too difficult to be enjoyable. I love a good puzzle game, but this is maddening. Even if you manage to memorize the multiple gestures required to manipulate the objects to alter the shadows it’s still far too complicated to enjoy. Note the last stellar reviews are from years ago. Deleting, despite having paid for the app.

Very imaginative!. Really neat idea here. Could be a little less picky when you’re so close to the solution, one more nth of a turn before you solve it is a tad frustrating. But other than that, love it!

Very nice game!!!. I love this game a lot very makes you think and everything! But the two object ones are my least favorite but still very mind boggling in a good way! The art in this game makes me cry, it’s beautiful and calming, I suggest to get it if your bored or wanna have a stress free gameplay. 🙌🏾

Fun, but.... This is a great concept, and looks gorgeous, but in the later levels and in quite a few of the secrets the shadow can look perfectly fine, but the game gets stuck at 4 stars. And you have to spend ages desperately tweaking the pieces in the vague hope that it will accept the shadow. Yet on other puzzles it sometimes says complete and does the last tweaks for me. Perhaps this could be fixed in an update?

Starts out great then falls apart. I agree with the other reviewers who have said that this game starts out so well, then becomes frustrating and pointless as it goes on. You know what the shape is and you make it, and that last light refuses to glow unless you sit there painstakingly tweaking it to fit. Not fun.

Start well, then becomes painful. The game starts well, is for n and challenging, looks good too. Sadly, as the game progresses the harder it gets to accurately control the movements. You end up getting 99% to completing a level but the last 1% seems to take forever. It should not be that hard to finish. There's no skill in getting the last 1% - it's down to pure luck and endless tweaking. There's no obvious path to follow or trick to learn. When you get to the end you want to slap the developers face for turning a simple fun game into frustrating torture. Play it till you first reach a level where it takes 10 times as long to move a shadow by the correct 0.1mm than it took to find the right shape, then STOP playing. There's no reward for your perseverance, it just gets more annoying the longer you keep progressing

Awesome!!. Once you start playing, you do realise how much effort has gone behind making the game. Totally worth every penny. Love it!

Truly Astonishing. No words can explain how amazing this game is. The graphics are mind blowing, and the game is overall very relaxing and satisfying. Having come back to it after multiple months, I'm still as impressed as I was the first time I got it. So glad I've found this game.

Unique. This is visually beautiful very original puzzle although with leaderboard integration has some competitive game elements as well. Either way it is both compelling and beautiful. You can even play and/or download the music for each level on iTunes.

Keeps you coming back. This is one of those games that never feels boring.

Good concept, poor design. Like I said, this game is great at first, I love the concept but the reality later is that it's nigh impossible to get the EXACT SHADDOW. You know what the shape is and can get it to look like it but then it says it's not close enough and can't twiddle it to their desire. Needs to be more accommodating in their matching criteria.

Almost perfect. A unique and very well thought out game that I instantly reach for when I have a bit of down time... only to get the frustration of finding that last "1%" - as mentioned by another poster. Tolerance needs adjusting. Good luck getting the 'all puzzles with three pieces in 9 seconds' challenge.

Creative and unique. This game is very unique, unlike anything I've played before. It is challenging, and gets you to think. At times some of the challenges are just a guess and playing around with the object. The controls are easy to use. And the quality of the game is also really good. The game is worth the money if you are looking for a game that provides a challenge.

Great Game!. This game is quite fun and a great way to kill some idle time. However, my one gripe is that it doesn't save state if you leave the app to do something that may clear the game from memory. If you're in the middle of a puzzle and you get interrupted by a phone call or email or something that might take more RAM than is available, you'll need to restart that puzzle from scratch when you return. And as some users have stated, even when you know what the object could be, you spend a lot of time trying to get it exactly right for the meter down the bottom. Having to start over is quite annoying.

Great idea well executed. I rarely rate apps but this one is worthy of a great review. Saw it featured on the Apple Developer Conference and thought I'd give it a go. Sensational graphics and 3D interface make for hours of challenging fun. Great game to play when you need to kill some time or just want to give your brain a workout.

Very well designed, however quite challenging. This game is great especially seeing as it was free. It is beautifully designed and just looks great. However, the levels seem to increase in difficulty very quickly which can be a little off putting, but otherwise, a great puzzle game which I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a challenge! What are the secrets??. The game is fun and cool, but what are those secrets? I thought I'm not too lack of imagination, but I couldn't understand those secrets! They look like nothing to me most time, they don't make sense!

Controls need improvement. This is a beautiful game, very lengthy as well (but a bit repetitive as it goes on), but the main problem is the controls when you reach three pieces. Fitting three pieces by rotating them in a circle is not intuitive, I had the pieces in the correct orientation but most of the time is spent on putting them together, and that makes the game frustrating from this stage onwards. Would be a great game if this got fixed because this is a pretty fun puzzle game! Price-wise this is a bargain

Frustrating to play. The app is a work of art. Stunning graphics but it is frustrating to play. You need to get the absolute position and rotation of the shadow to get a correct answer to be accepted as a correct answer.

Love the game but NOT the controls!. This game is fantastic! Great to look at, very challenging and addictive! BUT please give us an update with better controls! Once there are 3 pieces it's nigh impossible to move them into the right position! I have cramps in my fingers from trying to hold down the button and move the pieces with 2 fingers of the other hand. All it needs to be is once a piece is selected I should be able to drag and rotate it freely with one finger. Once this gets fixed this game will be perfect, can't wait for more levels!

Great game, but .... To earn that extra star, just fix the issue where the piece has to face the right way before it is counted. Karateka and dog level are two examples where I had it right for ages, but had to flip it before it was counted. Love the game though!

Perfection. The title says it all - this is just perfect. Not only is it pure gorgeousness, but is both relaxing and fun. I can't remember the last game that was both of those things. After a couple of levels the controls become intuitive so you're not even having to think about them. That right there is a sign that the game is magnificently aligned with the touch platform. I don't play a lot of games but this one has me thinking about "when can I play it again...?" Massive cudos to the designers and the engineers involved in this project - I could only dream of having such an achievement under my belt. Well done indeed.

Brilliant fun. Not being born with the best spatial abilities in the world, I find this game quite challenging, unlike my partner who's zipping through it. I am really enjoying these challenges, each time I solve one it is sweet victory. The success with a secret is even sweeter. Hope the makers are working on version 2 that will be ready by the time I complete this. Maybe faster for people like my partner.

Tough, Fun and a Brain Teaser. Starts of easy and enjoyable. Then gets really tough. Initial reaction to stop playing but once you persevere you get better and moving the pieces to work out the image. Def recommend for anyone who likes a challenge.

Excellent graphics, good gameplay, but can get quite difficult as you progress…. Just like most of the other reviews, this game starts off with an intuitive gameplay, and it maintains that. But as the puzzles become more complex, trying to get the pieces to match what’s required can be a bit of a pain. Fantastic graphics that never get boring!

A beautiful classic. This game is amazing, looks and sounds beautiful. They executed the idea perfectly, there's so many ways if done poorly it could have failed but they did it right. This will be an all time classic and will be in the best games of this year and all time list. You'll be surprised by every puzzle you complete.

Highly polished visuals, annoying controls. This is just not fun to play. On many of the levels I just kept rotating and rotating. The object looked right, but the accuracy required was extremely precise, killing all of the joy in the app as you finesse to minutiae. I typically worked out a shape in seconds, then spent 1 minute+ making the slightest of adjustments (back and forth) until it said it was close enough. If you enjoy aligning grains of sand at the beach, this app is for you!! I'd give this app 1 if it wasn't for the polished visuals.

Amazing.. It's almost like the way the game interface is designed is to complement the iPhone's capabilities. A fun game that makes you use your brain and creativity at the same time.

Just got this game and I love it!. I like this game but in the future updates I suggest that you can make your own shadow and you can get your friends to solve it. And add more levels hopefully you read my suggestions!!!!

Too much guessing. Very innovative, but too often I find myself randomly turning pieces until I get close. A name for each level would be nice!

Very engaging game. My child finds this game quite fascinating and is always excited once he creates the hidden shadow image.

Terrible for lefties. This app shouldn't be bought by left handlers. With your left hand you cover the shadow you are trying to create. Maybe in a future version they'll make it so that it can be switched.

The only game I actually enjoy on my phone. The App Store is filled with games that look promising, but fail to deliver. Asking you to buy in game content to keep the game fun. This game, isn’t just one of those games. It’s beautiful, it sounds amazing, and it chews through battery life 😂.(bring charger) I would 100% recommend this game to anyone looking for a little magic.

In a class of its own. Whoever created this game is a pure genius. This is a game that you play slowly once in a while just to savour it. The texture, the shapes, the light is superb. Bravo! How about rotating 4D objects to create 3D shadows?

You can't really control the content. You get so close to the answer, but it takes you another hour to get to the real answer. This game requires extreme preciseness in terms of control, and that is not a game designed for a mobile device. You feel that the game has a point to make, or it's built based on an inspiring idea, but in fact, it is just one idea that gets you bored and become very repetitive and purposeless after two minutes entered the game. Nice try, and if possible, I want my money back.

Cool concept but.... Too difficult? Quickly gets boring? Something made me delete the game quite quickly from my phone.

Clever, Amusing. This is a clever puzzle game. The basic game is not incredibly long, but finding secrets adds a considerable number of additional puzzles. Some levels are easy, while others can be devilishly tricky. The categorization of subjects provides a basic hint, and there's also a hint feature in the app which I have not used. The game seems a bit inconsistent when it comes to lighting up the bar that indicates that you're getting close to the solution, and is inconsistent as to how closely the aligned parts must match the solution before the game decides you're close enough to call the puzzle solved - so some levels take a lot of tedious adjustment to complete while others seem to pull together even when the parts seem clumsily aligned.

These controls👎. For the love of Christ these controls are horrible. For a game that requires such exact positioning the controls are lacking. Instead of having to rotate objects around each other until they just happen to fall into place you should be able to click and drag each piece individually. Tap the piece to select it. Tap and hold to engage movement. Tap the little button to engage rotational mode. Maybe those control ideas aren't the greatest but something more simple would give this game a better edge. The game play is fine and the graphics are well done. The concept behind the game seems more of a memory and attention to detail kind of game rather than something that sparks spatial awareness. Overall I think that this game is average, but has the potential to be much better. I can tell hours of hard work have been poured into this app. I appreciate its solid design, but a few more tweaks will take it from solid to iconic.

Innovative, Addictive, Challenging. I'm very glad I gave this game a try. It's definitely very innovative and different from your typical puzzle games. Who knew playing with shadows can be so much fun! The game pieces and shadow forms definitely become more challenging as you progress further into the game and that's where a lot of time and patience is required. You could always use your earned points for hints (which I don't suggest unless you are REALLY stuck). The status bar is super helpful as it tells you how close you are getting to the correct shadow form. Imagination is key as the game does not tell you what shadow form you are supposed to come up with. Only frustration I had was when there are three pieces involved. It can be hard trying to move one of the pieces around while keeping the other two pieces in the desired position.

Wow!. Hello! If you are wondering if you should pick this up while it is free, you NEED to do so before you need to pay for it. I will try to give a lot of details about it in this review. -Gameplay- The gameplay of Shadowmatic involves shadows and weird shapes. You MUST use these two to create a shape that isn't clear at first (sometimes). It's a fun, small puzzle game that has a lot of challenge and some moments. 5/5 -Graphics- The graphics for Shadowmatic are simply AMAZING. This is by far, the most realistic looking game on the App Store. I wonder if it's using Unreal Engine 4..... 5/5 -Replayability- The replayability of Shadowmatic is small because you already know the shapes. (If you're the developer, I STRONGLY urge you to read this part) I think there should be a free-play feature, or a small mode (a lot like free-play) where you can create puzzles for other players to download and try to figure out. 2/5 -OVERALL! WOOOO!- Overall, this game is a must have for all iPod, iPhone, and iPad users. Play it as a time waster or just to have a challenge thrown at you. 4/5 NOTE: This is all based on opinion and how far I've personally gotten. Eloquent Design. This App is a work of art, from the subtle backgrounds and dreamy stereophonic music, to the beautifully abstract objects and the iconic shadows which they render. Like all good recreational Apps, Shadowmatic is highly and pleasantly addictive. There are drawbacks. The game should remain as forgiving in the later, more difficult shadows. We don't need to spend minutes fine tuning a complex image of a basketball player that already looks like a clean, accurate image of a basketball player. Another thing, Hints should always be available. Some of the images the player is trying to find are so obscure that assistance is called for. Anyway, the player has paid money for the game and should be able to adjust it to their particular likes and dislikes. Notice there is only one Setting here, and it is a minor one. Power to the player! (Note to frustrated players: assistance can be found online and in Apps.) All in all, this really is a beautiful game and players really should try it at its most complex. And play it in the way you enjoy best.

Beautiful, Original Game. So I've used up all my data for this month, and I started looking for a game to play in order to keep myself away from my social media apps until the end of the month. This game is the most unique puzzle game I've ever played. It's really challenging (and honestly sometimes frustrating), but it's something you want to keep working at instead up giving up on, unlike a lot of other puzzle games like Candy Crush. The background music is relaxing and the game offers all kinds of different objects, letters, and shapes to try and figure out. The only thing I don't like about this game is that it ends too soon. I'd love to keep playing, but I've already beaten it! This game definitely deserves 5+ stars.

Great game. I love it!

A puzzle for Puzzlers. It's easy to use and tough to master. Although playing with shadows has been a puzzle concept for a while now it works really well using a touch screen device. Being able to manipulate the objects in all manners and ways makes this a stand out puzzler. The "ah-ha" moments feel right but keep in mind these can get rather tricky so walking away from a particular puzzle is probably needed from time to time. There are several puzzles open at once so this is no real bother. I've been wanting to play a puzzle game that doesn't get stale before you finish like those "tap and switch" ones do. For anyone who grew up loving things like the Penny Press Puzzle Books then have at it. Worth it.

Fun and almost perfect if they fixed MAJOR control flaw. I'm updating this to drop the game a couple of stars. I had to quit again due to the frustration of the controls. I can tell what the image is, and have the three pieces turned to the correct positions, but I COULDN'T get the three pieces to align because as I was trying to get them to move to where I want them they are spinning around all over the place and not going where I need/want them to go. Just awful controls. I really loved this game. It's really challenging at times figuring out what the image is, that's what makes it a great game. I don't want to just walk through it because I'd feel like I wasted my money. The graphics are beautifully done. It really is a great game. Here it comes, the "but"! When the puzzles contain three pieces the controls become so frustrating that I've actually turned the game off because I can't get them to line up. The instructions tell how to "lock" two pieces together and move the third, but they all keep moving out of place anyway making it almost impossible to line everything up. It's frustrating to know what the image is but not be able to put it together. Part of the puzzle shouldn't be trying to figure out the controls. If they fixed this one MAJOR issue this puzzle game would be almost perfect.

Works to a point. I can't recommend and the reason is as follows. This game is very inventive and cool idea, but, there are many shapes that once you get it right the game still won't recognize it. As you move further into the game it seems to become near impossible to get the exact line up the game wants even though it appears perfect and indistinguishable from the final allowed correct alignment, causing excess time for no reason. All dots are bright indicating correct placement but still won't accept as correct. I am now stuck on two that no matter what placement of the object I use will never be accepted even though it is completely obvious what they are and any further movement causes them to look incorrect and the loss of highlighted dots indicating movement away from correct placement. To bad, if there isn't an update in a few weeks I will simply delete and request my money back for a defective product.
