I'm sorry about this bug!
So when I’m out with friend nope IN AN A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION NOPE NOTHING AND IT THIS APPS FAULT
Installed this app on the advice of a friend who was really surprised when its features revealed how much screen time she was spending every day. Figured I could also benefit from something like that, so I installed it 3 months ago. Definitely made me realize I need to cut down on browsing aimlessly, but there are problems. For one, it’s not been very accurate in counting the minutes at least half a dozen times. (Sometimes it strangely fails to record time spent online). Got the updated version a few days ago, and it was really intrusive. The alerts that pop up by default were needlessly frequent & filled with language that made me feel like a 5 year old. I changed their frequency in the settings after a day of this moralizing tone. Interface text sounds pretty much the same—annoying as heck, especially when it constantly asks to be enabled to access Settings to connect to certain apps to collect more specific information about where you need to reduce screen time. Ultimately, I’m glad I have this app to check in occasionally to figure out when I need to log off. If you are one of those who are on some higher mission to attain great mindfulness, you can probably tolerate this app much better. I’m just not looking for that myself. I have meditation apps, and I just need to use this one as a simple counter.
The prompts to follow through on my screen time goals are great! I’m spending less time staring at a mini screen and more time in the real world.
Besides the fact that this app crashes at least 3 times a day, where is it getting its data? For example, today it says I have been on my phone for 1 hr and 58min. It also says I’ve been on it for 53% of my waking hours. I’ve been up for 11 hours so far. What kind of crazy common core math is that?? I give it another week to improve then it’s buh-bye!
I would love it if it worked. My screen time and the amount of time I pick up the phone is so low that I know in a day I didn’t pick up my phone 8 times lol. Wish it worked!!!
When setting screen free time, I’ll set it for small increments of time (10-20min) and then press the power button on the phone to put it to sleep. The app is supposed to make the phone ring when you pick it up too early and use it. However, the app rings CONSTANTLY while you’re not using it and aren’t on the screen!! It rings when you don’t use it, rings when you do use it; the only option is to not use the scheduling tool at all and have some actual peace. I do like everything else about the app but it just won’t stop ringing when the feature that should be its defining thing is beyond awful. If this gets fixed so that the app doesn’t ring when the phone is in use, then I’ll change my review because I like everything else about it so far.
Love this app! It’s great for tracking screen time!
Insights tab is revolutionary! Phone boot camp is free & a MUST. What are you waiting for? Install.
Nice set up an everything but when I dyed my phone for at lest a half hour I checked the timer and is still said clearly 0m I kept checking but bothering changed.
The removal of the screen tracking means this is no longer a useful app. Hope future updates bring it back.
I used to love the old version of moment with the circular tracker on the front screen, but I find it harder now to see where I sit in relation to my daily goals. A number on a screen doesn’t cause the same reaction that the bar turning yellow as I got closer to my limit did! I also miss the customizable notifications! I had mine every 15 mins and it was so effective at keeping me on track of my screen time. Since the update I have stopped using moment as much and my screen time has increased a lot, which is such a shame. That being said I do like some new aspects of the app including improved navigation, and the blue colour scheme is much more aesthetically pleasing than the pale green. BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back customizable notifications!! Thank you
Since the new update the app has unfortunately the app no longer tracks my phone usage. Loved the app before the update.
I paid for the Premium version of Moment and all was well until the new version was released. I no longer receive any notification of the time I spend on my phone. Even when the actual time I spend on my phone exceeds my limit, I have no notification or whatsoever. With no notification, the app is now pretty useless to me. It doesn’t really help me much in reducing my time on my phone, which goes against my intention of using this app. I’m disappointed by the new version. Please give me back the old Moment.
I’ve just updated the app to 4.0 after a frustrating few weeks of it spontaneously tracking use that simply hasn’t occurred. I have been using every trick I can find to prevent this including putting the phone on low battery mode to limit other apps’ background activity, and keeping the phone face down when not using it (or upside down in a bag/pocket). It’s still tracking random activity that isn’t happening. The new interface is problematic. It now takes more interaction to see if one is using the phone less, so I think we’re going backwards. The previous ‘traffic light’ colour scheme provided an at-a-glance update for how the day’s use was going. The new blue colour scheme doesn’t help this. An app like this should operate on a less is more basis, but this version has ended up with more is less.
Crashed when I tried to open app usage section. What’s more is I don’t like how I’m asked to answer a survey first, feels disingenuous. Still can’t access app usage times, despite tracking, because of this crashing. Please fix this, I preferred the older layout before the update.
I haven’t been up to date with the updates, but recently everything seems so much smoother, easier to use, more informative and most of all, makes me more productive. One of the best concept for an app on the store right now. 10/10
Love this app
I cant witk out how to use it but hoping i will after this screen has gone
They just try to sell you more after you purchase the app
The 4.0 update is not an improvement. I found it quite helpful to see all my days and hours in one column that I could compare. Now I have to click on each calendar day to see my time on my phone. Also I can’t find where I create my goal for the day. Please switch it back to the old home screen.
Not early to follow. Required location on all the time. Drains battery. Does not do half of the things advertise.
Instead of just tracking my data so I can get immediate feedback on good or bad days in terms of usage, it’s trying to hold my hand and push their paid (expensive and monthly) solutions. A shame this effective app went for the big money-grab rather than just doing its job well.
Good app, gets me in trouble with my boyfriend.
I’ve never written and app review before, and this one would have gotten 5 stars, but the new update is horrible. **DO NOT GET THIS APP UNTIL IT IS FIXED** Not only is it cumbersome for me to quickly view my screen time numbers (need to click each day independently on a calendar instead of having them all in a list like before), but now I can’t even see my older data! What’s up with that!! It’s December 5th and I can’t even see my stuff from last week! Ridiculous! And the “export data” feature is a joke- not even close to the complete picture i wanted. really frustrating. Please give us back the old interface! And no, don’t tell me to click on “long term insights”- when I do that, it tells me I “don’t have enough data” and shows me nothing. I’ve had this app for almost a month and just want to see what my data looked like 6 days ago. It’s ridiculous that I can’t.
I like this app because it does force me to be aware of my screen time, however liked it much better before the recent redesign. The home screen used to make it so easy so get a quick visual of my day-to-day usage, now you have to scroll and look at each day individually to see your usage times. And to be honest I’m not really that interested in how many pickups I have, just want to decrease time spent overall.
I liked moment a lot for it’s simplicity, but the new update makes the home screen much less easy to read and compare screen time to previous dates. I don’t want bars and charts and graphs—I just want to see bars showing if I’m in the green zone and a comparison to previous days. Much simpler, easy to glance at, doesn’t require me to spend more time on my phone looking at graphs... please post on how to revert to old version!
This is making my screen time go way down. I LOVE IT!!!!!!💯💯💯
Do not download it keeps switching of if you want to put it on again you have to open the app again Waist of time downloading it
Going to remove as super annoying. Every time you pick up the phone to answer it a pop up appears and you end up gong into that rather than your call or message.
Ever since I decided to opt in and pay for the premium version of this app, and updated to the newer version, it has not stopped force quitting on me. It’s really not worth updating, so don’t bother. (Apparently I’ve been on my phone for 15 minutes today. I know that’s a lie as it’s almost 7pm 😂).
It’s really useful and has surprised me how helpful it is. It’s a case of what gets measured gets managed. Thanks very helpful
Tracking the time wasted on phones . Surprising!
Thanks for creating this
It helps you to keep real tracking of how much you use your phone.
The app does a good job of calculating phone use and it would be great if there was a Mac app
I downloaded Moment out of curiosity, but finding out how long I actually spend on my iPhone was scary. I use it now to keep my use within what I consider OK levels, and it helps do that well. The premium version is well worth the few €/$
would r8 8/8 if i could m8 gr8 app
