Warning to parents: Moment is not strictly about parental control. Using Moment Family as a parent gives you certain powers, but your children have power too.
• If your daughter notices you on your phone while you’re supposed to be watching a family movie together, she can start family dinner time for the entire family until the movie is over. That means no one can pick up their phone, and you as the parent can’t turn that family dinner time off.
• Your entire family can see everyone else’s screen time for the day from the family scoreboard.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Moment has been designed to use GPS sparingly.

Only 3 days of using this awesome app and it has done wonders for me. Their “Bored & Brilliant” course just teaches you that it’s possible to appreciate boredom and be happy as you are bored. And man, I’ve even done things that I never thought I’d be doing. Also, I 100% recommend this to anybody who has any type of phone addiction. No seriously, this stuff works. I promise I’ve never been so positive and patient in my life!!! So please give this app a try. No more stressing over stuff that doesn’t concern you.
Why does this app need my location all the time, even when I’m not using the phone? I thought the point of this was to track my app usage, not track my whereabouts. That being said, it looks like a good app all around Take away location being needed 24/7 please
I can still use it to monitor pickups and get a general sense of my time, but I can’t exclude Maps, etc. I used Moments in the past with no problems. I recently downloaded it again. I know how to take the screenshots of my battery. And I just spent 15 minutes trying to get it just right. I quit. I tried things that didn’t even make sense. I am going to switch to daily and see if that helps.
Most annoying thing it did was inaccurately counted “pick-ups” against me. Example, I downloaded the app, got it all set up and it said 1m of phone use and 1pick-up. Cool. I lock my phone and go do some things then come back and sot on my phone for about 5min. Then open the moment app. Im now at 20 pick-ups and 4min of phone usage. The minutes might be correct but I hadn’t touched my phone since locking it earlier, i left it on the couch and did not carry it around the house or anything.
For some reason I can’t see my January activity. I do desperately need to see January 20th and it won’t let me.
This app used to be really good and accurate but ever since the updates it misses a lot of my iPhone usage and I don’t understand why.
Thank you so much for letting me know how much technology I use a day and thank you for telling me what to do like a photo free day or like phone out of reach it makes me happy I get to see the world more clearly Thx and you guys are so incredible
Need more Features
Let me say this: last year, I would’ve given the app 5 stars (and this is not at all with a bitter heart, but I do hope the developers read this). Now, it’s at a solid 3 to 4 stars. I lost my phone and never ever update my apps, so once I did update Moment (necessarily, since my phone was stolen), I was saddened to see that the courses are now under a monthly subscription basis rather than the one time fee (was it six dollars?). For someone of my income level, the cost is prohibitive (but others I’m sure could and would pay for it). It’s like I hopped into a cryogenic cube and the future is more expensive (but it’s only a year later!). Perhaps that’s my fault for only updating my devices when my belongings are stolen. Also, on a much less serious note, I know in updates they’ve mentioned making the app more aesthetically pleasing, but I actually liked the green and white theme better, with the airier mandala! Just my opinion. All in all, it’s still a great app, I just can’t afford the funner features anymore. A nice thing would’ve been to carry over the people who tested in Beta to a waived fee for the courses in the new version (maybe that’s asking too much)(but I did pay 5.99, and with the update, now that money disappeared into a black hole— but I have so much more time to think about it 😉 !)
While in app, even with the ringer off, the app will make incredibly loud pinging noises once in a while.
It would be great if you could get information about how much you were on particular apps. You have to supply all of that information through screenshots to the makers of this app however it is not possible to see for yourself what you are doing. I’ve looked all over the app for some way to find out how much screen time I am using for particular apps. There was some mention that it would be emailed to me but it never has been. My concern is that my data is being harvested and sold while I am can’t even access what my on my phone usage is. Every place the information might be stored seems to just be an advert for the paid version.
This is very disappointing that I have bought the premium which has the coach thing. But the developer just decided the bail out the premium users and start asking for a recurring bill for the moment coach. I have just downloaded it after the purchase couple months ago. After seeing this, I’m very disappointed and legit what’s good is now not here anymore for the ones who has helped you guys the developer on the app. It’s so frustrating that there are no compensation and we are now on the same page as the free users. Disappointed.
I am along time user of Moment and big advocate for it. ...but this has gone south and I’m at a loss to understand why and why it has not been fixed. Really disappointed.
I paid for moment premium and now I have to get a subscription? That’s annoying
The removal of the screen tracking means this is no longer a useful app. Hope future updates bring it back.
I used to love the old version of moment with the circular tracker on the front screen, but I find it harder now to see where I sit in relation to my daily goals. A number on a screen doesn’t cause the same reaction that the bar turning yellow as I got closer to my limit did! I also miss the customizable notifications! I had mine every 15 mins and it was so effective at keeping me on track of my screen time. Since the update I have stopped using moment as much and my screen time has increased a lot, which is such a shame. That being said I do like some new aspects of the app including improved navigation, and the blue colour scheme is much more aesthetically pleasing than the pale green. BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back customizable notifications!! Thank you
Since the new update the app has unfortunately the app no longer tracks my phone usage. Loved the app before the update.
I paid for the Premium version of Moment and all was well until the new version was released. I no longer receive any notification of the time I spend on my phone. Even when the actual time I spend on my phone exceeds my limit, I have no notification or whatsoever. With no notification, the app is now pretty useless to me. It doesn’t really help me much in reducing my time on my phone, which goes against my intention of using this app. I’m disappointed by the new version. Please give me back the old Moment.
I’ve just updated the app to 4.0 after a frustrating few weeks of it spontaneously tracking use that simply hasn’t occurred. I have been using every trick I can find to prevent this including putting the phone on low battery mode to limit other apps’ background activity, and keeping the phone face down when not using it (or upside down in a bag/pocket). It’s still tracking random activity that isn’t happening. The new interface is problematic. It now takes more interaction to see if one is using the phone less, so I think we’re going backwards. The previous ‘traffic light’ colour scheme provided an at-a-glance update for how the day’s use was going. The new blue colour scheme doesn’t help this. An app like this should operate on a less is more basis, but this version has ended up with more is less.
