Roku Remote Lifesaver. We were in a pickle when our remote went missing! My grandson (5 yrs old) informed me I could use an app on my cell phone to change channels. He recognized the app right away - it’s very easy to use...until we can locate the tv remote.

I love it!!. It works for an Apple Watch so you don’t have to use your phone for a remote, but when you use it on your phone there are no ads so you don’t have to wait to hit anything.

Perfect!. I suffer with adult ADHD syndrome and lose everything so imagine my surprise when my daughter showed me the Roku Remote app! I love the original remote, so compact and easy to use! However also easy for me to misplace and that’s when I turn to the Roku Remote app! As a small business owner, I also appreciate a quick effective reliable solution like this app! Never lose your remote!. When the remote gets lost, I always use the app since it’s always around! Life saver! The only thing I would like to see added is a volume control and that would be the whole package.

Great Alternative to Roku’s remote app. I love the fact it has a watch app as well so I don’t have to grab my phone. The only thing I wish it did was get the labels of each Roku when you use it instead of having to label it yourself once you figure out which IP address is which

Works. Does what I need it to; pause, play and rewind the tv when I can’t find the Roku remote. I obviously use the phone app if the phone is near but I always have my watch on and it’s perfect. Plus who doesn’t want to control the tv with their watch?

Fast response! No ads!. This app is awesome, there is almost no delay and it lets you switch from app to app without having to exit to the home screen! Recommend to everyone with a roku! Even if you have a physical remote you can use this to turn your tv on before you walk in the room and as an ADHD person I love that!

Keyboard doesn’t always work.. Seems some apps support the keyboard function and some don’t. It would be great to have stable functionality

It wont work. I have both apps they both worked yesterday and today they don’t the original one does not this one if I were the maker of this app and add a power button and volume but you might not be allowed because they have that all ready

Riki remote rocks. I lose the remote but won’t lose my phone. Nice to be able to type in searches instead of cursor pecking. I only wish I could plug in earphones to listen to the program

No volume control on watch. I was super psyched to have this for my watch, since I absolutely love the phone app, only to figure out that it’s almost impossible to install, and I can’t get the volume to adjust. Otherwise, the watch app would be sweet, basic functions are great to navigate The menu, but a basic and absolutely necessary function like a volume control should absolutely The the next update. PLEASE!!!!!!

Only thing needed is left-handed support for remote.. I love this app. It’s very simplistic and easy to use. I love how the channels show up alongside the remote. The only thing I would like to see is the ability to put the remote on the left-hand side. When holding the iPad like a game controller, it makes using the app a bit cumbersome. Not a show-stopper by any means. It would just be nice to have.

Apple Watch Support works! | Connect via phone first. ***Review Changed*** After writing a very negative review of this app’s usage on my Apple Watch, I finally was able to get it working. When the internal IP address of your Roku device changes, you will need to go back into the app on your phone and reconnect to it for it to work. There is still a noticeable delay when using the app on your watch (guessing because it’s essentially passing the command to your phone to then transmit to your Roku) but if they can lessen this delay, and/or allow the app to be used even when you are using your Apple Watch without a nearby iPhone, that would be great and get a 5 star. Volume support for Roku powered TVs is still missing and I’m hoping this is something that could be added in future updates. Being able to get to a stripped down scrollable Channel screen would also be amazing but adding volume control would make this a full on remote replacement for Roku TV users. The official Roku app is still superior when you are using your iPhone itself (and it’s free) but really you are reading this most likely because of the Apple Watch support. That alone makes it worth the money. Being able to perform almost all the general remote commands from your watch when your phone is in your pocket is amazing and other people will be amazed.

Download ASAP. This app works great. But I highly recommend downloading this app BEFORE you lose or forget your roku remote. The app connects to your roku by wifi or IP address. If your roku isn't connected, you won't be able to use the app. You also need the actual remote to find your IP address. Once you're connected, you're good to go. 👍👍👍

It’s ok, not fully functional. I only use this one because it’s suddenly the only one that actually connects to my roku tv, idk why, the others worked fine and all of a sudden my tv was undiscoverable. But, it doesn’t control the volume or turn off the tv for some reason. Other than that, it works well. It may just be my tv that’s the problem.

Roku remote app with apple watch app. Nice display on shared devices. Easy to use on Apple Watch and iPad Air too. No extra cost. Comprehensive and easy.

I’d add a few things. . .. If you could make it to there is the ability to listen to the show through the phone for like use the remote for audio for leaving the room real quick or headphones if in the room with someone not watching. Also a power button for the roku would also be nice, te app otherwise great!

Doesn’t work at all!. Loaded nothing happened. Says to connect to phone, did that still nothing deleted and reinstalled nothing still. Kind of worthless if you have to open it on your phone and then use your watch. If gonna do that might as well just the phone.

Sell your original remote, this is WAY better. This might be the best app I ever bought. I almost never take the time to review apps, but this one is so good I felt compelled to do so. This app is a full substitute for the original remote and it adds a few really cool features. First of all, it adds a keyboard so that you can enter text data into Roku without selecting letters one of the time, second of all it gives you one click shortcuts to any applications that you choose that run inside of Roku. It runs very quickly, is intuitive to use, and is extremely responsive. I would recommend it without hesitation. One of it's biggest advantages is that it is lit up (obviously) so it is very easy to use in the dark unlike the Roku remote where I always seem to hit the wrong button at the least opportune time. I used it on Roku 3 and now on Roku Premiere. It works equally well on both and allows you to choose which device you want to control.

No volume controls. I got this app thinking it would be just like the actual remote but there’s no way for me to control the volume. I usually wouldn’t complain about this but there’s no way for me to control the volume on my TV so this app is essentially useless to me. Besides that though everything works great.

Better than store remote. User friendly, straight forward.. Great addition to my phone.

This is it.. I’ve programmed a lot of different universal remotes on to my iPhone none of them worked good at all if they work you have to spend money. This app is legit don’t mess with any others get this if you have a Roku it’s the best thank you.

Been having trouble. I love they key pad love the way the app is set up but sometimes it don’t want to connect to the Roku I have been having trouble with the remotes connecting if it would stay connected I’d rate it a 5

Does’t work. I don’t know if the reviews here are fake but beware, this app doesn’t work. I tried scanning - didn’t work, I tried adding my Roku tv manually- didn’t work. Maybe that’s how stupid fake apps earn money from the App Store - $0.99 is a small amount so maybe no one cares and the developers get rich without the app even working. Huh, just a fair warning, don’t download it.

No power or volume controls. I lost my remote and thought this could help. The only way I could connect the device with if the TV was on but because I didn’t have the remote I couldn’t turn on the TV. Then, I found the remote was able to connect this remote (once tv is on) but still, no way to turn it on/off. No use to me.

Lost tv remote. After feeling between the cushions, getting down in all fours, searching the first floor ( I knew I hadn’t taken it upstairs) and repeating these and other search processes, I got the bright idea to search apps store for a Roku remote control finder. No such animal. But I did see the Roku Remote Control App! Low and behold! Problem solved! Now it’s on my phone, so if another family member forgets to put it where we agreed to put it, I HAVE MY OWN!!! No more searching, no more “locked out of the network...AWESOME!!!!!

Consistently outperforms Roku’s own remote. I am happy to have found this remote given that the remote app that Roku has out at best works 50% of the time, this app never fails, has some very convenient features, and as of now is the only Roku app on my phone. Thank you developer.

Works gr8! Fantastic.. Lost remote & downloaded this app. I’ve used others that aren’t near as nice. This one works easily. Downloads in mins, & I think it’s free, or only .99 cents. It works on both of my TVs, each with different Rokus. It’s sensitive to the touch. & is just great all around. I give it 5 Stars ⭐️ all around, so long as the price doesn’t go up. (I downloaded a diff Roku remote/“rokie”, & it makes u watch ads, doesn’t works most of the time, & is annoying; this is much better.)

App stops working and there is no volume control. The app worked for about an hour then when I needed to turn the volume down there was no way to use it. Might be bugs that can be fixed but still annoying.

Missing key feature. This would be the perfect Roku companion for iPhone AND Apple Watch if it had an on/off button. I would delete my actual roku app if it had that functionality, as it is the only way to turn the tv off without the physical remote. Aside from that, the addition of more other controls would be nice but the on/off would be the game changer.

Awesome!. I have been using this app consistently for a few months and it has been a clean experience all the way. No longer will you have to line the remote up with the Roku box in frustration! Since the remote is over wireless networks, this is a complete nonissue. Also, the keyboard in the app makes searching your favorite streaming apps so much easier and faster! Great app 5/5!!

Great app. This app works great on my Apple Watch. When I upgraded to the series 5, I had to disconnect the app from my iPhone and make it discoverable again and now it works on my series 5.

Not a bad app.. Needs tweaking frequently but overall pretty good.

Useless. I bought this to try for my Apple Watch II and it is worthless. It cannot control much by the watch at all. It can’t change the volume, I cannot use voice to type in boxes. It cannot really do anything useful at all. I can’t believe it doesn’t at least have volume control. It can pause, select and scroll around. That is all. And it is super slow doing that.

Run this app for awhile now no worky. This was a 5 star app. Opened faster then other Roku remotes and was just a solid app. Something happened in the last month and now it no longer works. First it stoped controlling my Ruku premiere+, then my ruku 4. When pressing scan the app would crash. So I reloaded the app now it crashes upon opening. I reloaded my phone, upgraded my phone reloaded the app again nothing fixes it. App needs a update to fix the crashing issue.

SOS. I took my Roku stick an hour away from my house and used it, get back home and it won’t accept my correct password to connect to the Wi-Fi. I can’t reach a Roku person anywhere, by phone or by chat etc. PLEASE HELP

A decent start. I like: - fairly robust - device discovery works well - clean layout - the channels screen I don’t like: - no screen rotation on iPhone - on iPad, the settings pane won’t show the top row in landscape mode Deal Breaker: - no Private Listening. I often watch at night, in bed, using wireless earbuds. Why should I use a 3rd party app that offers less than the Roku branded app?

New idea. It would be cool if the phone could mirror the television feed.

No Power On/OFF button. Would be nice to be able to turn off the tv once you have turned on. Other than that it works well. Please add a power on/off button

No ability to power tv off or on..... Doesn’t seem that the app nor the apple watch app have the simple capability to turn the TV on or off. What it does have works. However I deleted it an went back to normal Roku app. Wish it had Apple Watch app though.

Watch App Doesn't Work. Save your money if you're buying this because of the Watch app-the app doesn't work on the Watch at all. There are plenty of free apps that work as well or better via iPhone.
