Great Content - Problems Accessing. IPhone app is increasingly frustrating. A course I have paid for does not show up when I open the app. I have to search for it and tap about 5 buttons to jerry rig my way in each time. Now I cannot access it at all on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I want to access each day while I walk, but can only access on my laptop. Each time I access the course, it says “Error. Something went wrong. Please check your network connection and try again.” No other app is having any trouble with the network connection but Coursera. My subscription requires that I complete the course by Feb 7 or pay another fee. This needs to be fixed or my fee should be refunded.

unprofessional customer service. Customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE! I paid for a course and was somehow charged directly through the app as well as through apple. For two months I was charged double. I reached out to customer service and they asked me for the card info as well as the dates and amounts I was charged. (Which were all different amounts for the same course) They asked me for this information THREE TIMES and I resent it THREE TIMES along with screenshots of everything-receipts, bank statements, dates, amounts & card info written out even though they were in the screenshots. After that they kept sending me an automated message basically saying there was nothing I they could do to assist. Definitely won’t be paying for any more subscriptions through Coursera. Save your time and money.

Hooked on Coursera. I was feeling a bit stagnant and in a rut, so I took my first Coursera thinking maybe new ideas would help me jumpstart my brain after 3 months of quarantine-induced staying at home.I have worked from home for over 10 years now, and I am always learning new things on the job, but still, things just felt different. The first course I took was “Learning How to Learn.” It blew me away! Not only did I learn useful information, but it was incredibly enjoyable and I have been able to apply the information on the job. As soon as I finished it, I enrolled in a course on inquiry and research. One of the recommended readings, a book called “Curious” by Ian Leslie, was again enjoyable and applicable to many areas of life. I would not have come across this book had it not been for the course.I recently enrolled in “The Science of Well-Being.” Excellent. The Coursera platform is easy and convenient. I am very busy, and was able to listen to videos, read articles, etc., on my phone while I waited in line or took breaks.

The desktop version is better.... I much preferred both the website and the app before all the visual changes — they were both easier to navigate and more reliable. Since the updates, I’ve used both much less. That said, the desktop version is better than this app, which I’ve had continual problems with — crashing, things not loading, and the app incorrectly keeping track of where I am in a course when auditing it. I’ve been using other sites much more because of this (I think that speaks volumes). I have had problems with edX and Udemy but not nearly as bad as with Coursera (both online and off). If you encounter issues like I did, try the website using a desktop computer. I found that much better in many regards. The issue with Coursera not properly tracking progress when you audit a course can be worked around by keeping a browser tab open to the course page with the week you’re working on visible. It’s a shame. I used to love this site and its app. It just has really gone downhill...

Savoring & Gratitude. Enjoyed lectures and found savoring rewarding. Prayed for each of three grown children & spouses, nine grands & my husband by choosing a tulip representing them, tall purple for males, tall pink for females, yellow for young gymnasts, and petite pink for 2-year old granddaughter. Had to take deep breath after 53 years of marriage to swallow two-year increased happiness level. Happiness factors are what we have lived with. First daughter, Phi Beta Kappa & top of UNC med school class, had high expectations for four children now 12, 15, 16 & 19 & that is a disaster. Son, two years younger with 3 children and type A, Masters top of UNC nursing wife, has taken different approach focusing on children not being pressured. Seems to work better for 8, 9 & 14 year olds. Third has 2 & 4 year olds Looking promising. Happy Easter

Impossible to cancel!!!. I signed up for free trial, it auto renewed which is no surprise, that’s how all free trials work these days. But when I tried to cancel, it’s impossible! There is no one place to ‘cancel’ a subscription so I tried to cancel by deleting my credit card info, again another month charges on my card. Now I’m 2 months in, go back to website can’t find anything other than an FAQ on cancelling. Says I have to cancel subscriptions but when I go to my subscriptions, nothing to cancel. I think I must be in the clear.... credit card bill arrives and again another months charge on the card!! Would be great to talk to someone but nope, they don’t take phone calls!! Ok maybe I’ll email them.... can’t find an email address for support. One page said email us using the ‘contact us’ button at the bottom of this page. Guess what? No contact us button at the bottom of the page!! Really infuriating!

Great courses, bad app design. I was extremely excited after auditing a few classes and decided to subscribe to Coursera with the idea of using the app on my iPad to study outdoors. Sadly, with the two courses I was taking, half the work done in the app had to be repeated in the browser to count. Moreover, basic functionality like the “introduce yourself” in the forum of almost every course didn’t even give you the option to submit your post. I could go on about the lackluster app design from a navigation perspective. It’s really a shame considering the quality of the courses. Get a better Ui person for apps or fire your testing folks. Please note that this is a review of the app, not Coursera itself. Using it through the browser is perfectly fine

Should be better.. I enjoy doing Coursera courses at my convenience. Lately, I have been taking advantage of my ipad pro to do the courses on the go. The app is pretty and the interface is fine but the functionality is lacking. i am doing some courses that use the IBM skills network to conduct labs and for those, I have to switch to one of the mobile browsers on the ipad and navigate to the coursera website... I'm not sure why the app can't do what the browser does on the same device, but with a lab intensive course, it's not really worth swapping back and forth. When I searched for answers on the website, I came across this sentence: " Try using a computer (not all features are available on the Coursera app)". My advice - try making your app more useful.

yay learning. I’m in love with psychology so it made it easy to get into this app (specifically with the free psychology courses). it’s amazing how high quality it is and how simplistic it is. I do suggest adding more free courses. I wanted to learn Spanish since I couldn’t learn Tagalog (they’re pretty similar) but all of the courses had to be paid. when I tried to search some stuff up, a majority of the time the topic doesn’t even relate to what I’m looking for. then, when I listen to some of the courses, it says I didn’t but when I only listen for a second or so, it says I already listened to it. somewhat confusing and could be easily fixed. can’t wait to learn more, not gonna lie

Love Learning …. BUT iPad app needs a bug reporting option. I have nothing but good things to say about Coursera. I have used it for years now. Learning for the sake of learning, could not be more pleased with the platform. However, I have recently started using my iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard to take some of the courses and I have encountered a bug where every keystroke on the keyboard while trying to answer an essay question scrolls the screen down one line. Eventually I can’t even see the text box where I am typing. I just spent 30 minutes trying to find a way to report the bug and I have ended up here. So please Coursera … enable you users the ability to give feedback to your engineers … so they can fix things like this.

Awesome course. I love the flexibility it has To be able to read the lectures from bed and feel your part of the class at Yale it’s amazing 😉 I love the content I wish my daughters 16 & 14 will take the course this should be taught in high school so they could begin college without the pressure of grades Life should be more joyful if we take out social media or give the tips to use it properly and teach about those miss conception telling or asking to be aware of all the things we have Like the technique of gratitude writing ✍🏻 each day why are I am grateful for should be a mandatory kids homework 📚

Horrible Customer Service and Billing Service. We, as a corporate customer with around 40 seats have recently experienced horrible customer service. First of all, we did not receive renewal notice at all, then we were told corporate plan was shutting down and all users data would be gone. We tried to provide payment info, customer service said they have no control of billing, therefore she cannot initiate a payment for us. Why would a company hire ANYONE who refuses to take customer payment in this age?! Along with HR and Finance leaders at my side, we spent nine days tried to get this resolved. Customer service was responsive but not helpful at all. Whatever we asked, the answer was "unfortunately No." We just wanted to keep our plan and pay the bill!!! Nothing is beyond this simple request. We eventually ran out of time and terminated our plan. The experience was unbelievable- there is no way I could not believe this is a company that serves PEOPLE AND THEIR NEEDS. Sometimes it made us think that customer service could be a robot. Absolutely no phone number to call in the US. Very limited contact method doesn't provide a way to escalate our issue. Terrible services and lack of flexibility when it comes to payments and a proper notification of plan renewal. Not recommending to any corporate customers!!!

SharePlay⁉️🙏🏼🥺. So I really enjoy this app and the courses available on the site. It definitely does it’s best to make learning easier to facilitate in an online only environment. I appreciate the fact that there’s another app similar in availability like skillshare, or udemy, but I’ve not been able to take as many university offered online courses in any other platform other than Coursera. I’ve shared this site with friends and family and was hoping with the new iOS 15 release that there would be more major updates to the app to improve the whole learning experience, like support for SharePlay! I’d love to be able to FaceTime friends or family to take a course we both have mutual interest in taking, together. It’s nice to get some aspect of a class room feel even if it’s still mostly virtual. I recommend people take advantage of the courses available on the site and downloading the app. Lets please see a SharePlay support update rolled out soon⁉️🥺🙏🏼😁😊 Thanks to the team of Coursera

Useless on mobile app. I downloaded the mobile application, paid for a subscription and in the middle of the course the “third party tools” to complete the assignments did not work. Though it says it should work but they recommend using a desktop/laptop. It never worked. There was no mention of the use of those tools and possibility of them not working in the course description or pre- requisites. When emailing for support, it was of no use as they kept repeating they “recommend” using a desktop/laptop, despite me mentioning that i do not have access to a device for the next 3weeks. Their last response though i finished 97% of the course they would not mark it as complete and shared a link to the help/ support page that mentioned some “features” (not a tool) might not work on mobiles. A link or a page that you would never think to check (support page) when registering in coursera and enrolling in courses. Definitely cancelling my subscription and moving to other sites.

Very good app, very few complaints. Edit: Removed a star because after the latest update the forums don't load. Suggestions for improvements: if optional assignments in courses could be differentiated so that the "pick up where you left off" section could skip over those if you've already started/completed assignments after those, it would save a lot of time and actually make that a useful feature. Also, instead of randomly arranging the list of enrolled courses every time the app is opened, it would be nice to have them arranged by last accessed, next assignment due, etc. to save time and make the app a little more user-friendly. Classes also tend to “jump around” while you’re on the page so that, in the time it takes to tap on a course, another one swaps places with it and you’re taken to the wrong page—very frustrating when it happens so often. The app also sometimes feels a little clunky overall and loads a little slowly.

Apple Store Subscription Not Being Acknowledged. Coursera is generally a great platform and app. I’ve used it on and off for a few years. They are getting two starts because of bad billing practices. Recently, as of May 2022, Coursera stopped recognizing my monthly subscription through the App Store and has stopped allowing me to make submissions on my course assignments and section tests. It’s stopped my ability to complete courses all together as a result. When I contacted Coursera, they said this is a software bug for ALL APPLE CUSTOMERS that their developers are trying to resolve. They then closed my help ticket and didn’t provide any resolution. I contacted them again two weeks later, and this time their customer service rep said to CANCEL MY APPLE SUBSCRIPTION, TO REQUEST A REFUND THROUGH APPLE, AND TO ENROLL THROUGH THEIR MONTHLY BILLING SYSTEM. Because I don’t want to lose my progress on this professional certification, I did exactly that. Cancelled my Apple subscription and enrolled in Coursera’s subscription. It makes me want to cancel my subscription with Coursera all together, though. This is highly suspect given the controversy of the Apple Stores 30% cut on all transactions processed through their store and developers pushing back on it. It comes off as Coursera intentionally breaking Apple users access to force their hand to enroll in Coursera’s billing system to recoup the 30% loss in revenue from the Apple store.

Convenient, Easy, and Educational. I completed a course on Coursera’s website on my ipad and found it difficult to start a second course on my phone due to screen formatting not being optimised for my device. When I found out they had an app, I decided to give it a try to see if it was any better. Now, I’ll never go back! The app makes learning much easier. The courses are laid out in a way which makes a lot of sense to me, and I love that it’s easy to work through each module hands-free (the next video autoplays once one ends) or jump back in when I’ve been away (the next thing to do is highlighted at the top of the page each time, but you’re also able to skip items and complete them in your own schedule). I wish there were more courses in my fields of interest, though this isn’t at Coursera’s fault and there are still a few for me to work through. I do, however, find the app is lacking a ‘wishlist’ function. It would be very helpful for me to be able to keep a list of courses I’m interested in within the app itself. Other than that, I have no complaints with this app so far!

Misleading/false advertising practices. I had responded to one of Coursera’s email promotions for a discounted course fee on select courses for Pi Day; the options weren’t great, just ok, each was a mishmash of data science topics (but ironically, no math courses). When I selected one and went to pay, the iOS app demanded the full monthly fee, even though I was purchasing it on the day the promo was available. Their customer support team told me that they had only reserved a handful of slots at the discounted rate but continued to advertise the discount and made no mention of this limitation on their course pages. So, basically a case of false advertising to achieve a bait and switch. Very disappointing; I would have liked to try out of these courses and the discount would have helped since the programs seemed to be missing some key elements, but maybe it would be okay. I’m looking for a set of courses that could be used for professional development, so I I’ll try EdX instead after this experience.

Do not recommend. Will absolutely not use Coursera again after my experience with the “Foundations for Global Health Responders” course. The course materials and lectures are very outdated (8-9 years old), the grading system is seriously flawed (it forces students to beg “peers” to review assignments after sometimes months of waiting; classmates can be retaliatory if you give them a well-deserved mediocre grade, or they won’t read your assignments and give you the worst grade possible), and the customer support options are just window dressing. I’ve sent customer support emails, reviews of the course, Tweets and Twitter emails directly to Coursera, and flagged webpages within the course - none of which received ANY form of response. What’s especially maddening is how hard I worked in this course with nothing to show for it. It’s valuable time I can’t get back. Consider EdX instead. Charging users for a product with unqualified “peer” assessors, outdated course materials, and absolutely no Coursera oversight or ownership borders on fraud.

Love. ****your help center isn’t helpful if we can’t ask questions or for guidance if the problem isn’t listed there*** I am having issues with accessing my course certificate. It said it was ready to view but when I hit the link it doesn’t pop up and I can’t share it to my linked in page. I love Coursera. It has a large selection of courses to choose from and I love that they have financial aid available. This makes learning accessible to everyone, something that is very important to me. I can’t wait for more courses and specializations to be added and hopefully they will partner with more universities!! I wish there were more art and music course and maybe politics. My only issues is the last few days, the app has been glitching and freezing randomly.

Great potential, but not quite there with usability.. Was drawn in by a google ad and decided to sign up for the (plus) account. I liked the content and idea of what’s being offered, but found myself frustrated with things that should be obvious. 1. I couldn’t see what the course consisted of and how long it was before enrolling. 2. The video player is just big enough that it doesn’t fit on the page perfectly. So either the top or the bottom of the video player is cut off whenever you’re not in full screen . The only way around this was to size the browser down to 90% when on desktop mode. 3. You cannot unenroll from a course or remove it from your home page. The help center provides you instructions to do this but the instructions are inaccurate and do not help much. 4. There is no way to contact customer support. It says there’s a chat dialogue that is in the bottom right hand corner but no such window is there. I don’t have an Ad/ pop up up blocker enabled. 5. There’s a very faint static noise under everyone’s speaking voice on the videos. Tried several different headphones but the static is always there when someone is talking on the video. Once you hear it you can’t I hear it. I would probably use this platform if these issues were addressed, but without a fix these nuances are an unnecessary stress factor in the learning process.

Very informative. I love coursera it’s courses are a great way for me to constantly refresh my knowledge of issues in my field and to update my knowledge. However I find it’s modules only reflect a western point of view and it would be good to be a bit more balanced and have a more global orientation. For example the global history course should actually be entitled western history because it focuses almost exclusively on western history. The same is also true of the global diplomacy course. From following it, one would thing diplomacy is only practiced by industrialized western nations. That’s the reason I withheld one star. That being said May I suggest the inclusion of a course on African history that follows the same timelines as the global history one.

1 month review. So the platform is incredibly unstable on mobile (highly recommend you do not sign up using your apple ID to avoid a headache). A lot of quizzes must be done on a desktop. The whole payment system is corrupt. You want to sign up for a single course or multiple? Depending on the price, it may be better to sign up for coursera plus. However, they have sale periods with huge discounts. Why bother paying 1/3 more for the same class? There’s a bit of structure behind the lessons but a lot of providers are outdated and quite lame to be honest. I was going to sign up for the year of coursera plus but forgot to submit payment before the sale ended. That’ll be an extra $100 just because. I’ll pass for anything extra, finish my course, and never look back. Currently in the process of getting the google IT certifications and the lessons are quite painful to get through with idiotic people giving lecture. I’ve found it significantly easier to just read the transcript, use google to find useful resources, and pray for this madness to end. Luckily I only signed up for a month.

No auto play makes app almost unusable. This app is in desperate need of a “hands free” mode of some sort. Lessons are cut up into tiny individual vids that can be as short as only 3 minutes, often with “assignment” or quiz pages in between, and as you go through a course you have to manually click through to the next thing again and again and again. It’s infuriating, especially when you have a bunch of short segments one after another, forcing you to click through every few minutes. One of the main reasons I use my phone instead of a computer to listen to lectures is so that I can move around doing other things. I like to listen to music or podcasts while doing chores, exercising, driving, things like that, and would love to be able to do the same with Coursera: just hit play and let knowledge stream into my ear. I can go back to see any visual components I might have missed or do assignments later; on my phone, I'm more likely to be on the go, and apps need to be able to reflect that. The way most courses are structured means you can’t just stick an hour lecture on and go jogging: no, you have to stop every few minutes to poke your phone for the next section. To be clear, this is not a review of Coursera, which has worked hard to bring a bunch of great courses to the public. But I’ve been deeply frustrated with the app and can only pray it eventually gets a proper modern tune up.

Good content. I enjoy Coursera but there could be some improvements. When watching a video I like using the “save note” feature a lot. But, it’s not efficient to do this in the app because it brings up a pop up notification each time and it pauses the video. It’s very inconvenient. I would prefer just to be able to tap “save note” without any interruptions at all. Also, I’ve never been able to successfully cast my screen to a device even when using airplay. That would be really nice to have. Lastly, I wish that there was an option to save notes and have them display in reverse order. Meaning the most recently saved note appears on top instead of the bottom. If these changes are made I will update my review to 5 stars.

Great app and courses. I love couesera. The classes are easy to sign up for and complete. It easy to navigate to review a video or test you already took. You can tell that the universities that made these courses really put out a quality classes. If you just audit the classes you do not have to pay anything. However in some classes, you have to be a paying student to take the tests. The content of the classes are anywhere from high school level to graduate level. If you signed up for a class that you are not ready for yet, you can switch to a later session or unenroll from the class at any time.

Good - Would Like an “Interested” Section. I really like the app because I can play the video and listen to the audio while I’m driving. It would be nice if there was a just audio of the courses included for ease. My biggest desire is to be able to search through the course catalog and select courses that I’m interested in taking and be reminded to sign up for them if they start soon. I would take a lot more classes if there was a curated section of courses I hit “like” or “interested” or “save for later.” Sometimes I don’t have the money upfront or am on the fence about a course and it would be nice to have a section to themselves so I don’t have to restart my search.

A lot of room for improvement. As someone who uses Coursera daily as part of an online degree program, I am intimately aware of its positives and negatives. There are many features of the Coursera that are only available by using a computer and browser versus the app, including the inability to complete quizzes and tests, view feedback on assignments, download/upload and submit assignments. The way videos and transcripts show up in the window is nonsensical - two tiny strips of vertical windows instead of the video on top with the transcript below. It is incredibly frustrating when trying to complete work on the go that I can only get part way there and then have to double back to complete the rest when I am in front of a computer.

Great learning courses. Bad customer service. During the pandemic I subscribed to the fundamentals of accounting course where instead of paying full price at once you have the option to pay monthly until you complete the entirety of the course. As I am now home all day I knew I could complete this three month course with-in a month. I was wrong, not because of the work load but because the course locks your projects until a specific date. So, I ended up paying for two months and while unable to work on the course. In addition they promised they’d stop charging once completed but it had charged me anyway for another month. All this caused unnecessary stress and got in the way of my enjoyment of learning. I found no ways to get in touch through phone or email by anyone at Coursera to talk about my issues.

Learning anew at 54. This has been challenging and encouraging in my endeavor as a disabled man trying to gain new skills to get back into a workforce that can work remotely. Something i can still do and remain in a technical capacity and be able to make the money needed to enable me to continue in my disability to train for a career that will pay my way forward helps although i do feel some issues with having formal college. I still will continue learning and not give up. It’s so easy to give up today. It’s hard to discipline and settle the brain when so many things are going on around us and stay focused. This is also why i find working at my pace helps. I do plan on still getting a formal education. Since people still see me in a sales capacity and i want to switch to a technical capacity, i need to stack up my skills in the technical arena. If this app wasn’t here, i would have never started using that muscle called the brain again. Coursera taught me that i am still valuable and can learn something new.

Overrated. During quarantine many companies and governments world wide shoved coursera courses down employees throats, I have to say by far one of the worst experience in online learning is on this platform many of soft skill courses are shallow, lack lots of information and no proper teaching methods being applied, the app it self isn’t built on evidence based learning techniques, many courses follow the setup of student assessing other students or take a quiz and score no less than 80% which send you down a rabbit hole, trying the test every 8, 6, or less hours until you get it down, my recommendation would be stay away from this learning platform as you aren’t going to learn much if you are truly interested about learning I recommend starting by googling evidence based learning techniques and from there try to adapt what you learn to those strategies.

Good content, support, not so much.. After taking a course for a few weeks, I tried to submit an assessment and the app told me I needed to upgrade. Was rather strange since I had subscribed through iTunes. When I contacted support, which was really hard to find btw, I was told ‘there’s nothing we can do, contact Apple.’ It was clearly a system error on their part but it was me who had to make the effort to remedy the situation. No offer of compensation, a weak apology, and time not well spent trying to submit an assessment. If it were just about the content, the rating would be higher but the lack of customer service left me rethinking where I want to spend my hard earned money on online education. Buyers beware.

Terrible App. I just downloaded the app to be able to continue my courses on my phone when I didn’t have access to my computer. It took multiple times to try to connect because it kept saying there was an error. I was able to finally log in and start up again on my most recent course. After completing an assignment I tried to submit it but once again I got an error, I lost my recently typed work and it kicked me out of my class. I decided to give it a few minutes and then try again. Upon logging in again, I had to rejoin the class and everything I’d done up to that point was gone. Thankfully I’d only recently started the course so not very much was lost, but I did still lose my progress and completed assignments. To say I’m upset is an understatement because I have to start over and I barely have time to do the course as it is, much less redo work I’ve already done.

The app is partially broken after updating. I want to say first that I love the app and I’m liking Coursera in general for their thousands of classes. However, I think one of their updates broke the app, at least partially. It appears after the most recent update I can no longer access the thousands of courses from the NY state sponsored catalog of courses. Even after I signed out and signed back in, nothing changed. I can’t even access the courses from non-sponsored catalog. I mean they appear but then I get an error message if I try to look at a course. May I get some investigation for this bug?

Great idea. Bad execution. The mobile app doesn’t update my work completed on the web app. There are entire weeks missing on the mobile. There’s no support in troubleshooting this issue, nor is there an accessible customer support channel to resolve. Consequently, I’ve unenrolled in the multi-class course for a Google certificate and consider the $40/month a sunk cost. Great idea, but poor execution. Very disappointed in the overall experience. Edit: I keep finding more and more wrong in the mobile app. Come on guys. I can’t even click through the screen which mistakenly tells me I can “still complete Week 1”. I’ve completed up to week 3 materials according to the web app, and your mobile app won’t even let me click through. if I have to uninstall and reinstall the app for basic functionality, it should not be in the app store.

I hope it gets better—because it’s awesome. I love this app. I took one of the most interesting classes that I’ve ever taken (and that’s coming from a 5th year Ph.D. student, studying mechanical engineering) from the comfort of my own couch every night for 30 minutes with the tv in the background. The class was really interesting, and while coursera is not responsible for the great quality of the lecture videos, they are responsible for providing a platform for me to access the lecture videos in the first place. And this is why I think that coursera is a brilliant app. The actual software of the app is good, but I do think that the team responsible for the app layout needs to work on the navigation a little bit. I think if this app had a makeover by the team that developed Airbnb, and letgo.. Then this app would probably be more popular.

Switch program bug. Found new problem. There are a lot of bugs happening at quiz sessions! I have Coursera for Students account, which gives me one free course. Aside this 1 free course, I’m auditing another course. The auditing action somehow created a 2nd state of my account, so there are “My Coursera” with all courses and “ Coursera for Students” with Coursera sponsored courses, which is the 1 free course. On iPad and my phone, I saw a button called “ Switch Program”, I wondered what that is and clicked it. I got switched from “My Course” to “Coursera for Students”, and locked up with that 1 free course. I cannot switch back. I cannot get access to the course I am auditing. I cannot search for other courses. I cannot upgrade. I can’t even log out from my account! This is really bad experience! How is that suppose to happen? I understand basically as a free student account you don’t get many paid privilege. But no course browsing, no upgrade? How are you going to convert users? And if I can switch into some environment, I‘ll expect being able to switch out of it. Not to find out that Switch bottom just a bait to getting you stuck!

Rip off. The course was really uninspiring and unimpressive. I attempted to cancel my subscription but was repeatedly charged $50 month after month even after clicking “cancel subscription” on the website. I was charged again today and again went to the website to cancel my subscription to this joke course. Hopefully it works this time or I will be stuck footing the $50 bill again next month. I am now hundreds of dollars in the hole. It is impossible to find a way to contact coursera to resolve this matter, they only offer a press and privacy email address but no way to contact a support team. Their “help” column even says “if you think there maybe an error with charges received, please contact us” but offers no way to contact them. I am livid. I would never recommend Coursera to anyone else.

App needs work. The UI and the catalog is in desperate need of attention. The filtering, first off, is better than nothing. You can’t collapse your types of filtering. The fact that I filter for English, and still get other languages is a nuisance. Language selection should be first. The partners aren’t in alphabetical order which is maddening. I can choose the same or comparable codes in edX for less or they are at your own pace for less. There are courses that are useless. I tried looking up courses that cater to veterans, but were showing courses that are shown how to get educated as a veteran which are inherently useful, but do not warrant *paying for* like those from Columbia and Michigan University, for example. I’m not really sure why since of these courses require payment except that someone is charging money. You can find this help for free at any other university online, say Purdue, MIT, or Yale for example.

Selection is O.K. : Also Poor Notice for System Requirements. 10AUG21 Update: Downloaded Material continues to be deleted from personal profiles (iOS) after updating. Also: I access the course home for a given class, and am presented with a trash can icon next to a large number of video lectures, indicating I already have them downloaded. But once I disconnect from the internet or simply go to access the supposed downloaded content via the “Downloaded” menu component, only a few videos are present. The app just continues to lose my confidence and support. Original complaint: There was poor notice given for the SAS Programming course of system requirements needed to complete the course. No concerns were expressed by Coursera or the SAS course introduction/summary page. Left with a system that was underprepared to do many of the tasks asked of the students, minor issues became drastic problems. Therefore I was delayed for long periods in my progress at many points along the way. I attempted to reach out to coursera for assistance with my issues, but customer service seems to be all but nonexistent. Update 20Jul21: Disappointed in the loss of downloaded material when updating the app. The review remains two stars.

Great app, but.... overall this is an amazing app. I love how it works and all. however there is one thing. my interests aren’t listed. i’m interested in becoming a locomotive engineer and working on the railroad and learning czech. however these options aren’t listed and i feel forced into other things. it basically only has the basic/average courses anyone would take when they first get into college like psychology or criminal justice. i just feel like there’s not enough choices for interests. otherwise this is a great app and i would recommend it to people who are going into basic majors.

I <3 Coursera. Update: I’ve reduced the app to 2 stars from 5 until the developers fix this nagging issue I keep having. When I click on a search result, the app tells me something is not right and to try again in a few minutes. It’s aggravating. Also, Coursera advertises that you can do your courses on the go from within the app. However, there are many assignments that are not available through the app, and sometimes coding problems within quiz questions do not display properly, so I have to get out of the quiz on my app and open on the desktop to finish the quiz. Once these things are improved, I will give it 5 stars again. Original post: While this app still has room for improvement, I will give it 5 stars for the fact that the developers have made sure to keep this app up-to-date. There are new features added all the time and its usability just keeps getting better and better. I also am glad that on-demand courses are available. I love always having world-class learning material in the palm of my hand.

Syncing is a pain!. I like the app in some ways, but I am leaving a one star review, hoping they look into this problem and fix it! Syncing should be a trivial feature, not a painful as it is! I often use the app offline. I want my advancement in a course material to be transfered to my account when I go online, but that doesn't happen. There is no button to use to sync after connecting to internet. It is suppsed to happen automatically, but in my case it does NOT happen! I could figure out how to enforce it in an earlier version, but that doesn't work now. There are other problems with this app. I can see a chekmark next to quiz that I completed on a computer. So the app has received the info from the cloud. It even shows my passing grade in the grade tab area, and still shows the quiz is overdue!!!

Love Coursera but think app could improve. I LOVE taking coursera classes, but I think the app could definitely improve. Often times when I finish a class it doesn’t move to the completed section, it just sits in the current class section indefinitely like it has never been finished. Which is a bit frustrating. Also, sometimes the classes I complete don’t show up at all in the completed section of the app, they just disappear. They show up online but not on my iPad or iPhone. Also, I think a major improvement would be if I could favorite classes so I could save them for later. I often see classes I want to take, but I am already signed up for a couple other classes. There is no way to mark them as ‘“save for later” or “favorite” and so sometimes I forget that certain classes I wanted to take in the future even exist.

Not a good App. Coursera is good when you sign up for one course, & one payment only for that course. Then... they keep charging class after class even after you only signed up for one topic out of the entire outline. Their rules are: you pay one topic after the free trial for your certificate. Not an entire year contract, as I was beginning to get billed. I have to wait until next month to see if I am re-billed, and hope my $$ is returned for this extra month I was charged! The fine print said I would only get billed once, for the course I wanted. If I wanted to take the full outline then I'd have to pay the yearly fee, but my point is I ONLY SIGNED UP FOR ONE CERTIFICATE!! So, there's no need for further billing....although they re-billed me again the following month. :( Very disappointing for my pocket! Scam app, report to remove ASAP! Took my money even though I wasn’t using their course anymore, and I’m very upset. Take Coursera down! Awful app.

Terrible billing practices check ConsumerAffiars. The courses are great and the platform is excellent but they will continue to charge you forever after the course is over. They will blame iTunes for the charges. If you get it stopped with iTunes they will hound you with emails. Non average about one every three days and if you make the mistake of clicking on the explore courses it will auto enroll you in something that will bill you for the course and allow you to cancel but they will keep the first month. You have to go tell iTunes on chat to get the charges reversed. It is a very sneaky business practice. Check ConsumerAffairs and you will see what I mean.

Issues positive vs negative. The course content is superb and the professors are excellent except when professors have issues speaking English. I had difficulty understanding some professors and became frustrated and withdrew from the course. Course variety is very good. My university will not accept my completed courses. I would like to see a definitive understanding between online Coursera and all universities. I’ve had better and more sophisticated classes with Coursera than I have had with my University of Washington. I want to finish my BA or BFA at University of Washington and trying to interface with them and trying to prove that the course I’m enrolled in with Coursera is impossible.

Incredible content but app needs improvement. This is the most professional courses I have seen on an online course. Compare to it’s competition (Udemy, LinkedIn, Coursera & more) what really makes it superior it’s the accreditation of the people giving classes (they are really well done & university level people). The app unfortunately (the website too) is not good enough. Some times video playback bugs, the AI test bot never works and the IOS app feels slow & also is not super practical despite looking nice. I have to re-log in constantly and in many cases closes and re-open the app. The same goes for the website that starts bugging during video playback. For info, all my devices are up do date (app wise and system wise)

Not bad but a little disappointed. This is an awesome app that’s super interactive and very in-depth on all of the its topics but some courses have descriptions that talk about helping you get your career started after finishing the course by sharing you information on a survey you take through an email sent some time after completion(I had to talk to someone to get mine sent) and after you finish that survey that collects what companies you want to share your info with, you have to wait to hear back from “someone” in the future( 4 months and counting) so great information but I can’t even find the job description this certificate is for, on the google website so.. just a tad salty. Hopefully this changes in the future to help people who have a passion for this industry

Awesome App. Overall I throughly enjoy the ease of using this app for my study time. Most things work fluidly, and being able to download lessons on wifi for later use is a huge plus. There are a few things that could be improved. As of now you can‘t take some tests on mobile, which is understandable. Sometimes the transcripts move too far up, not too terribly but I do prefer to read along while listening. Occasionally they would like you to post on forum to better bring the learners together, this in and of itself is ok, but when it initially pops up you can‘t post from that window, instead you have to close it and go to actual forum portion of app and find your thread. So far outside of these, everything in the app works great! A definite to download if you‘re using the Coursera program!

App and mobile interface not good. User interface on mobile and app is not good. Sometimes I have to sign in multiple times while using the app.

Excellent way to learn new subjects. Coursera has more than just educational videos, it combines the videos with a lot of tests and questions to help you learn what your watch a lot more thoroughly. In some ways the courses are much better than many university materials. Highly recommended.

Cheaters. I choose English speaking course . Then i clicked on this course then open 4 courses . But when i paid then only open 1 course which is write emails in english . I don’t need to write mails professionally. I want to learn the speaking course . Now my money is wasted. If we open our couse then why you guys open 4/5 courses. Only the reason is confusion.

Has a lot of potential, but flaws exists. I’m now on my second program and the thing that frustrates me, is the app crashes on the submitted “Peer Reviewed” tab. When ever I try to access the graded mark on an individual submission I’ve done, the app crashes. I have to log onto Coursera on a computer to see the mark. I should be able to view it on the app without it crashing.

Doesn't feel improve, got lots bugs. what the hell, randomly force me login, and cause losing all the downloaded content. and the course ui is not reponsive breaks after changing orientation...

Thank you. I am learning far more than I ever imagined I would, get out of this course. I am so impressed.

Science of wellbeing. I am loving this course. I am learning so much ! The supporting material is excellent and the explanations by the Professor are very clear and detailed. It feels like being in class again !

Contact with facilitators. It would be very helpful to be able to have contact with the facilitator or teacher.

Weekly lecture notes not displaying fully. The weekly lecture notes under resources do not display properly. The formulas and images don't render, making the app useless.

Fulfilment. I am a 70 year old retiree who is undertaking several Coursera programs concurrently. I love the self pace nature of the courses that allow me to binge or take a break while other things are occupying my life. I have learnt so much and have gained an appreciation of art and culture that underpins my life experiences. The universities that I have studied with are world class, and it gives me great pleasure to have accessed so many of these.

Could not load courses properly. Can’t access course items on iPhone X

App and platform are much to be desired. Am constantly battling with bugs in the platform between the web client and iOS devices. It seems every time coursera release a new version a new bug appears. The course lectures are fantastic, the quizes and assignments not bas but also not brilliant due to not enough information, but the delivery isn’t that great, mainly just due to bugs in the platform. Still, I recommend the courses but you will need to deal with quirks and bugs in the platform itself.

Kinda annoying but kinda works?. It’s pretty good, a Quality of courses is wonderful... Only issue is the lecture videos take up most of the screen so I can’t even read the transcript the notes option at the bottom of the screen blocks the transcript which I wish I could disable.

Review. This course is awesome. However, I’ve been able to access the text book as an e-book but I cannot access the listening material. This limits the satisfaction with the course.

Well structured and reliable. Currently taking 2 courses, one is on Data Science and another foundational “Learning how to learn”. Both courses create good structure about broad areas of knowledge, sort out important issues from less important, and carefully guide beginners to the most optimal learning path. Also, it is comforting to know that I spend time and effort to learn from reliable sources. Appreciate an opportunity to audit courses for free. Thank you, Coursera

Great but not al dente. Overall the app is very useful for when you don’t have a computer screen. I noticed though that the app is a bit buggy when it comes to the pop up quizzes or questions.

Download feature makes no sense. What’s the point to have a download feature if you just simply streaming the video anyway?

Buggy App. I’ve been using the iPad app for 15 months for my online postgrad. It’s consistently buggy, and hangs in loading mode often. It’s clear that Coursera’s app dev team doesn’t use its own product.

Can’t access anything. Too many bugs, can’t load any courses and downloads disappeared Also very low functionality and not user friendly like the website

Needs a fundamental rethink. For an app whose purpose in life is to expand people’s horizons, it needs a fairly fundamental rethink. For example, why can’t I “star” a course to add to a watch list for later? Why do I have to engage in “enrolment theatre” every time I wish to have a look at course materials, rather than simply being able to dive straight? Why is searching for course content more akin to an archeological dig than a functional and satisfying user experience? How did this get to be so bad?

Python. The various coursera python programming and data analysis courses have provided and affordable and accessible opportunity for re skilling.

Excellent app but a few bugs. Great app to learn new things, but currently it keeps crashing every time I click submit on a quiz.

Pop up Payment Failed after purchased for 2 days. I reported the payment error last Saturday morning in the “report an issue” at the time money is charged but the courses were still not available, and no one contacted me in any means since then. What I subscribed was the facebook frontend developer Personal Certificate and it wasn’t the Coursera plus. I highly doubt if this functionality is well tested and if there is adequate support for this issue.

Science of Well Being. First time doing an online course so I’m trying to follow the flow of the course and after 3 weeks since the start I’m just getting adjusted to the structure.

Doesn’t work. This app shows all quizzes as incomplete. I have contacted the support who said log out then log back in. This did work to show my completed quizzes but then showed all videos as unwatched and later completed quizzes still show as incomplete. Website works much better.

Coursera is the right place to learn. Thank you coursera I have completed my second course and I am very proud of myself

Could not cancel subscription and got charged. I’ve recently subscribed for free but when trial was about to end I couldn’t cancel subscription under my account in the app. I got into the My subscriptions in the app and the week just spinning nothing happens. Then in an hour I got charged $51. Now I cannot refund it. Really poor customer service and support. I’ll never use it again and will not recommend to anyone..

Great Learning System.. The freedom to learn at your own pace is great. Accessibility assisted with useful checks, is helpful. The options for certificates and adding to other qualifications has potential.

Wonderful opportunity. I love the broad range of material available from renowned world universities. The courses are short but long enough to give detailed learning. Study at your own pace and at a time that suits your lifestyle. Absolutely Wonderful

App makes progress even easier. I love the programs offered through Coursera and the app makes everything about keeping track of progress easy. As I do most of my study 'on the road rather than at my desk the app is simple and useful

Diep Bui. Coursera provides awesome way to learn new knowledge in various fields. Extremely high teaching quality, online and almost free. Coursera is one of few educating tools that I want to pass on to my next generations.

Amazing phenomenon still the market leader in MOOCs. From being the first one to provide such a service to still being the Best one is a great achievement! Great selection of courses and specially the financial aid program, allowing everyone to be a part of this journey is simply great! You are doing a great job and please keep going!

Poor designed iOS app. Always require login again and again when you close the app or exit the video. Sometimes stuck at the quiz, clicked submit button doesn’t help, clicked back it require login again.

Best online education application. Tried few others but this is most effective, practical and convenient one. Courses are from top providers. Literally you have opportunity to attend best education institutes. This is best ground breaking, game changing application. Education will never be same again. My sincere gratitude to the developers, providers, supporters.

Love it. Amazing. Impressed by the quality of teachers, teaching and learning material. Currently taking my 2nd course and it’s supplementary learning that I can’t live without - learning new things to open my mind and possibilities, applying what I’ve learned in the real world. Cannot recommend it enough. Thank you to the team who created Coursera, y’all are doing a service that impacts human kind through education. 🙏🌱

Pretty useless. Email link from Coursera takes me straight to app on my mobile to my course. The I click on accomplishments, tells me I am not logged in and the screen is stuck there, no login option. If I delete and reinstall and it happens again, bye bye app.

Understanding the Cloud Architecture and Fundamentals in full then Coursera is the way to go.. Understanding the Cloud Architecture and Fundamentals in full then Coursera is the way to go. Blaine, Morgan & Blaine @ Tutors# Simple and Sharp. Strongly Recommend

A+ for Coursera. I love the accessibility and that I can do the course work in my own time at my own pace. I thoroughly enjoyed my course and can't wait to do more. I love the fact that the courses are comprehensive but foundational and short in nature, so that if I find I want to continue with the subject I can pursue more long term further education, or I can stop here. Thank you Coursera for helping me expand my knowledge base.

Great courses/bad app. Great courses however the app is very frustrating. The main use case I have is to download and watch lectures offline however this feature either wasn’t there or is constantly being broken with new updates.

Web version beats app by a mile. I like Coursera but the app is pretty poor on the ipad. I have to search to find courses I’m already doing as the list function shows everything, not just the most recent course. Buttons don’t work - I click on a button and it flashes to show I’ve pushed it but doesn’t advance me to next thing I want. And I just clicked on the Info tab within a course and I can’t scroll the content. It shows me the first bit and then the tops of the letters of the next line so I know there’s more but I can’t get to it as the screen won’t scroll - it’s just frozen in place.

Does not sync the course progress well between different device. The iPhone Coursera app does not sync the progression of the course with my laptop progress . Can’t do submission on the app .

Thanks Coursera. I’m so happy and feel confident studying with Coursera. It’s really amazing program

Grateful. I learn so much through the app. Thank you

Inconvenient interface. I am currently learning HSK 1 and it seems that the interface for quiz is hard to use (E.g. audio are linked and have to be viewed on web browser instead of inside the app).

Easy to use. This application really easy to use. I recommended this apps to my friend..

Highly Recommend. Works perfectly. Coursera is a great site and tool in itself and the app is flawless. I’m 2 weeks in to my first course and have experienced no glitches in video or content at all. Because my course has some programming content, I do have to complete those sections on PC not my iPad. However switching between the web version and the app is seamless.

Logs out all the time. This app is what we have been given to do some workplace training. It logs me out all the time (About once an hour) and I need to then re log in using my organisation. Quite frustrating

Coursera is great, but app needs work. I really enjoy the courses on Coursera and genuinely think it has some of the best online learning platforms. The app, however, has a lot of performance issues. There’s a very noticeable lag when loading course material and interface features or course progress indicators don’t update unless the app is restarted. The website doesn’t seem to have these issues but the app really needs work.

I would rather use website. When videos switch between resolutions voice quality drops or sound disappears

App Feedback. It's a simple app. But would love to have "favorite" kinda options. And profile edit option in the app.

Terrible!. I can’t login on my iPad. For an online educational app, it is amazing that your app is such a disgrace. I can’t trust anything you guys are teaching because you can’t even get your iOS app working correctly after so many years.

Keep going. Coursera is a great resource to develop your skills and learn new content to grope up on your professional and personal field!! Just keep going and reach your goals!!

Well this sucks. App is freezing on loading, can’t finish lessons. Use this for university, so it’s kinda important I get it done.

Can’t open it any longer. I love this app...but it won’t open on my iPhone 8 Plus . It was working fine, and now it will not open. I’ve searched through help topics, and I’ve tried to find someone to contact. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Videos won’t load. Videos won’t load, just asks me to check my connection.

Work. It works.

Bugs in iOS version. Don’t You really want fix your ios bugs? After one year used from first time until last time it hasn’t fixed

Fix a bug in video playback. This app could be great, but has a really annoying bug. Suppose you watch a first video which lasts 5 minutes. It will then start the next video at the 5 minute mark. This is very annoying. Please fix!

Thank you. Thank for a refresher course! It was truly well describe and Nicky put together and presented by the instructor. There were two types (in my opinion and I hope I wasn’t wrong) which I reported as a constructive feedback to be corrected! :) Thanks again!

Not happy all. I paid for a course. The content is great. I progressed to about the halfway point, and it stopped working and logged me out. I attempted to log back in using the same credentials as before. It will not accept those credentials. I then tried to do a password reset. Three times. I have not received an email on that topic. In the meantime, they are still sending me promo emails to the same email address. So I know it is the correct one. Then I went to the web site to seek support. It keeps hounding me to log in, so I can get better support. BUT I CANNOT, for the reasons described above. Super annoying. I found a support email, and asked for help. No reply. So I am stuck. Halfway through the course and I cannot proceed. I cannot recommend Coursera given this situation. Super disappointed. I have wasted my money and a bunch of time.

Indigenous Canada Learning. It is very interesting to learn our country’s history from the indigenous perspective. For me, it brings new meaning and understanding to the evolution of our county and the influential factors that have shaped this development over time. I have an increased respect and appreciation for the richness and diversity of indigenous peoples and cultures in Canada. I have an awareness, empathy and compassion for indigenous cultures in Canada in regard to the impact of the settlers to this Whole turtle island place.

Does not work!. Downloaded the app on both my iPhone and iPad. It's so frustrating to use. Constantly getting error messages. Could not submit my quiz for some system errors. Also takes forever to show my active course list… better off is the pc-desktop version.

Doesn’t work on iPad. After I logged, I couldn’t access to my course; it’s just a dead page

App not working on iPad. Have trouble viewing course material. Always not loading and also can’t view downloaded materials. I tried before and after updating the OS but both not working

iOS App login failing. I just updated the app and getting message “Sign In Failed” continually. Login credentials work perfectly on mobile web browser. Even clicking on “Forgot Password” is not helping to solve this error.

Love you. I really love this app

the new ui is hideous. want the option to go back to the old version. very displeasing to my eyes so much so i don’t want to use the app at all; especially the overlapping oval bubble design for week 1, week 2…

Not working. There is some type of glitch when purchasing subscriptions from Apple. I’ve paid for the course but can’t complete it. Coursera says they’re “working on it” but it’s been over a week. Terrible.

App will not open. I downloaded this app a couple of weeks ago. It works for a couple of days and now it will not open.

Scummy move to try to capitalize on the recent discovery of FN bodies. As many Canadians know now that 215 bodies of First Nation children have just been found underneath a residential school I find it bad timing and repulsive that this company try to make money off this

Mahmoud lier. Why you lie? These are not freecourses

Not user friendly. Very hard to find and access “your” courses. Have to scroll through and cannot see all in one list. Many quizzes and materials do not open in the app.

This update is a joke!. I just wrote a review ten minutes ago about the current update to the app, about certificates not showing in the app even though they show on the website and even though they showed in the previous version of the app. That review came with two stars because even though the issue is frustrating, it doesn't affect functioning of the app. I just came back to make a one star review, because upon trying to use the app, it turns out that the Learn tab is EMPTY. My courses do not show even though I am logged in. If I search for a course I am taking in the app, I do fond it, and it says that I am enrolled. I can access to course this way—but not through the actual tab designed for me to access my courses and which, most importantly, allows me to manage my courses and my learning. I am cramming to finish three courses ASAP because I need them to land a job. Upon updating the app today, it turns out the app was rendered utterly useless by this update—and this is far from being the first time that a mere visual redesign of the app, to make it look prettier, creates obstacles to learning and to finishing courses. I now have to adapt to a new, clunky way of studying. I now have to use the website instead of the app, which was not designed to be used on phones and tablets, which is precisely why there is an app. I was already late with my courses, and this ridiculous update might make me miss my deadlines. As if I weren't under enough stress already. I have been using this app for a decade now and it feels like the gazillion updates it has had since then only serve to BREAK it. And given these inexplicable issues with IT that Coursera has, I fear that some day my certificates will disappear so I will have invested time to learn skills which I will not have credentials for. Do you people realize the negative impact of your careless messing around with an app people rely on to improve their chances of earning a decent livelihood? So fed up!

Frustrated. I can’t do my course, it won’t download-says to check internet connection, but everything else on my iPad works fine over my internet-I won’t be using Coursera again because I don’t know why it doesn’t work for me.

Trash. I want to explore courses but the app will not allow me to click on any courses

Hey Coursera. Hey, you people are really greedy with that 2 year limitation on purchased courses. People are busy and want to learn AND they paid! There shouldn’t be any time limitations on courses bought.

The app is buggy. When you continuously play video lectures and move to the next one, the app plays the same video lecture in the background with a small delay. I can only fix this issue by restarting the app.

Certificate not showing. I just completed a course with a certification purchase yet I can’t view my certificate 😡 Please fix, considering the certification costs money

Feature Missing. I really enjoy using the app on my iPhone and on my AppleTV. Having the ability to watch the video natively on AppleTV while using my MacBook to take notes has been my ideal setup for the course I am taking. That being said, not being able to pause a video to take down important information in my notes, and even then having the audio completely disappear after attempting to pause seems like a missed/broken feature. Looking forward to this being added so I can make this a 5-star review.

No support. It’s a great app and I love what you guys do, but there is not option to actually contact support or submit a ticket anywhere. My course progress was lost including all peer review assignments, everything and I don’t have any option to contact anybody. No, the help articles are not helpful. $64 a month and there is zero support provided to clients.

Layout is pathetic. Can I ask why you have changed layout in current update? It’s so bad and hard to track. Module is hard to notice.

If your looking to enhance your brain , this is for you !!. I must say , my life has changed immensely since I became part of the Coursera Community. Learning with them has been easy and convenient for me , as a working mom of 4 I am proud to say this is the best decision for anyone to take 🤍

Login issues. This app appears to be non-functional on my iPad (latest iOS update too). Every time I try to log in, I get the message ‘Sign in failed: internet connection appears to be offline’. My iPad is NOT offline; I’m using this to write this right now. This app has problems! I can log in with the same user ID and pw from my computer; this just seems to exist on the iPad.

Coursera is simply the best. Every course is exactly as stated. Some are easy and some are tough. With lock-down due to COVID, this is the best way to spend time. 20 courses and counting. Young old, or Retired like me, what a wonderful opportunity to expand skills and knowledge.

Cannot submit assignments for paid courses. Tried all the tricks on FAQ.. Support got back to me and asked to try these: -Logging out and logging back into the account. -Uninstall and reinstall the app. Tried. Still unable to submit my work.. :(

Offline user experience. Using the Coursera app offline was a terrible experience. I downloading the courses I was interested in, and the app said they were completely downloaded. Only later did I learn that not all the modules were fully downloaded. I also had to turn on my data to get the downloaded content “started” because even though I had downloaded the content to be used offline, apparently this app is unable to support that. When I got the content started, they were somehow downloaded out of order, with no indication on the course material what order to watch the content in. I was taking quizzes on content that I hadn’t yet learnt, and watching the second part of a two part lecture first. The content wasn’t listed chronologically and there was nothing in the titles to indicate a proper order. A good app, but do not rely on using it offline as you will be disappointed.

Freezes. Very frustrating app

An amazing way to learn!. I had never imagined that someday I could attend a course where the best professors from the best universities like Harward and Stanford will be teaching there for free... Thanks a lot Coursera, the world needs more of you...

Horrible UI. You download this app for free. Yet you have to register yourself BEFORE you can see any of the courses offered OR which companies would honour certificates. Deleted!

Opportunities. Having access to the offered courses is amazing!

Quantitative Modelling. Very useful Concepts explained in a systematic simple manner with Examples which helps understanding of the concepts

Worse than a web browser. This app is objectively terrible and anyone talking about anything but the app doesn’t understand what reviews are. Use a web browser instead.

It stopped working. This app does not work on my iPhone 8! I had used it for a month before it stopped working completely!

Used to be a wonderful App. I was looking forward to retirement and being able to take courses. When coursera started, the courses were free. Then they added an option to pay something and get the equivalent to credits for the course — this worked against the original intention of the idea of making education available to all, but okay, fair enough. But now I see that you have to pay just to audit. And then have to pay even more if you do want an acknowledged record of taking the course. This is really sad because you have now cut out a large percentage of those who had been able to begin their studies through coursera. You still advertise that the courses are free - which is blatantly false. Shame on you. A great idea dead in its tracks. A

Thank you. I would like to send my greetings and respectfully for what are you doing to spread and enhance students' knowledge. Thank you Abdala

Offline Coursera Issues. 1. When you take Coursera Offline, the notes don’t automatically sync once you go back online. I have to click each one automatically and press save again. 2. Try to replicate: When you go offline, click a piece of text in the transcript, press save note (but don’t actually save it), then press cancel. My whole app freezes. 3. Can’t select/highlight multiple paragraphs in Coursera mobile, unlike on desktop. 4. It keeps playing when I exit the app EDIT: 3rd time I’m coming back here and it’s a 1 star now. It freezes non stop. I can barely take notes. iPhone X 64GB.

Great learning tool. Great app for learning, loved the course I took. Liked the layout of the app and the pricing was fair for the certificate. Only issue I had is that I couldn’t download the videos ahead of time to watch off data. My current workplace has no internet, so I couldn’t learn on my lunch/breaks. 5 stars if they fix this!

Help needed!. I’ve been using the Coursera web version and thought, hey I’ll get the app. Cannot login! Sign in FAILED or similar message. Forgot password generates NO email. Went back to the web site and am now BLOCKED bc I had “too many attempts”. HELP NEEDED!

Significant Steps Backward. Don’t upgrade if you haven’t. Absolutely atrocious, and quite frankly the developers should be ashamed of the poor quality. The redesign of the app made things a lot more difficult. It’s not intuitive where I’m supposed to touch to access my active courses. It no longer gives me the correct option of where I left off on the start of the page and I have to manually check and select which one I was on, it starts me off at Week 1 instead of the active week, and the bar for the videos is no longer active. Also, it shows that I haven’t completed an assignment, even though I checked the website and shows I have. And if it goes to the lock screen on the iPad Pro, it forgets entirely where it was in the application.

force update. why do you cut support for older devices. iam running ios 10 and i used to use the app no problem on my device. do i haveto pay 1000 euros toapple to be able to just watch videos ? like what amazing ios 14 feature your app is using to just cut support for older devices is just playingvideos and quizes do i really have to upgrade my device to use the ? itdoesn't make sene, the website and all its feature still work from firefox i don't understand you just want apple to make more money or what. this actually so frustrating. hope at least apple give you a percentage on their newer models sales. oh wait a minute you give them 30%for in app purchases :D

So-so. While the prices seem cheap, most of the content seems very outdated, and while you can still learn a lot, because it is outdated and so stuck in the old ways of teaching… the mid and younger generations probably won’t get much out of it. Not everyone learns the same and that’s why these methods are not for all, if it works for your way of learning then this app is probably amazing for you but if I can’t make learning fun, it won’t stick. The painful ways of 90s teaching shows hard in much of their content. I can’t speak for every class of course but basically all or 90% of what I did try has this painful approach.

I hate the test. The courses are good. I just hate the fact that I can spend hours mulling over the teachings and get random quizzes that pop up during the teachings and then final quizzes at the end. These test DONT give much room for error. I had one test with 10 questions and got one answer wrong and had to redo the quiz again. If you fail twice you can’t retake the test for another 8 hours which is super discouraging after spending so much time trying retain all that information…. I know that this is all a personal problem but it’s genuine opinion.

Very Helpful. I needed help with certain subjects to enhance myself and to help prepare for a career change but was stretched concerning finances to pay for those courses. Henceforth, came Coursera to my rescue as I can do the courses without paying for the certificate version( which I don’t need) as the courses are just supplementing as well as helping to patch and enhance an area of weakness as I purse further studies. I thank God for these opportunities as they are helping to build my confidence and will no doubt help to improve my grades; which will propel me towards my goal of graduating with a very high GPA.

Great app!!!. I've been waiting for Coursera to release an app, as I like to learn on-the-go. I listen to video lectures on my smartphone as I go about my daily business. They' updated the app to fix a few minor bugs, and now it's smooth sailing. Great app, great education and a great opportunity for everyone. Democracy at its finest. I’ve been using Coursera for years now, and they keep adding more and more great courses from great schools. It may not give you actual college credit, but it will certainly give you an education!

The reason I’m a data analyst now. Coursera Certificate programs and specializations prepared me to become a data analyst. I had a completely unrelated job before the career change, and if it weren’t for Coursera’s learning options, I wouldn’t be a data analyst now. Colleges don’t really prepare you well for the skills needed at the workplace, and Coursera is the best place to learn those valuable skills employees really want. They unfortunately don’t want my knowledge on mitochondria and white blood cells. They do want data analytics skills though!

Wonderful app, but.... Coursera is one of my all-time favorite online learning platforms. I really love the iPad app, especially that it allows more flexibility (precisely when the laptop is out of reach and I feel too lazy to go and fetch it). The overall performance of the app is great; However, whenever I try to review my peers assignments/projects, just before submitting the review, I get an error message. The error message is “Oops. Request failed: not found(404)”. I hope you tend to this problem as fast as possible. Thank you for your efforts and keep up the amazing work!

Offline mode unstable. I’ve been using Coursera for degree and it’s been a great experience up until recently. Having all the contents available on my phone is so convenient and makes using fractured time such as commute productive. Recently however, the offline mode hasn’t been working well for me. It either doesn’t load or crashes the app. Force quit and restart sometimes resolve it, but it’s taking surprisingly long every time especially given the new iOS is suppose to boost launching speed? It has really messed up my study plan and I’m not a happy customer at the moment.

Some good courses, sketchy business practices. I like the courses that I’ve taken through them in the past. I’ve only ever audited the courses for free, though, because of all the problems people seem to have with the company when they pay them money. Unfortunately, auditing courses for free usually means a lot of the value of the course is missing because they often don’t let you take the assessments. They seem to make everything just a little annoying to do, so I’m not confident they’ll handle my CC info in an ethical and forthright manner (and this concern seems to be valid based on others’ comments). Useful for the free audits, though.

The app would be amazing but it has some problems. I love being able to learn online and they offer so many programs and courses. But a couple of problems the app has the 1st one which is big for me the save notes does not work has not worked for months tried uninstalling and reinstalling I have tried a lot of things nothing. Then just recently the dialog and the video does not follow along like so when I stop to take notes nothing I have to scroll and keep reading the whole section. Video playback normal fixes it self but sometimes the audio sounds off.

Love to learn on an iPad, but desktop version does more. 1. Coding input cannot be shown or run on the OS version in quizzes 2. Cannot open videos at the same time of downloading 3. Downloads slowly and never seems to finish. Has to download with the app opened in front. But when saving for 1 week, all the videos in that week cannot be viewed... It’s frustrating when you thought you had it all and later found out you downloaded nothing on an airplane 🤦🏻‍♀️ 4. Slow connections in other countries, same as the website 5. Given that I’ve paid hundreds, I hope the whole experience gets better:)

Billing is insane. I enjoy the class and have learned so much, but I don’t want to sign up for another class because I kept getting billed for a class I cancelled numerous times, but kept getting billed. I then had to remove my card info from Apple so I wouldn’t be charged again. I definitely emailed the provided email for help in the app but I never got a response from anyone. I did get one payment refunded back to me from Apple. But am scared to subscribe to another class for this same problem. Please fix it. I would love to continue learning in the app. And please provide a number we can call. This app has so much potential.

Great app personal issue. This app is great it has taught me things and made me interested in things I never thought of or realized existed but im having a small issue you see. I have finished two courses I did them for free and one of them is allowing me to re enroll but the other isnt and im considered retaking the course paid in the near future and I dont have the option to even do that. If theirs any information on this issue please advise.

Needs improvement for “save note” functionality. The “save note” functionality is very flawed. For each course, it seems to work a limited number of times after which it stops working and notes are unable to be saved which is a huge hindrance and nuisance. Please fix this issue so that students can easily save as many notes as they feel are required of the video lectures. I had to switch to the chrome version to save further notes for my course. Looking forward to this issue being addressed so I can resume using the app.

Great Features… That Don’t Work. I enroll in a course and it doesn’t show up in the enrolled courses list. I try to reset my deadlines and it says “Cannot reset deadline. Please try again later” except no matter how many times you try again later, it shows the same message. It does not allow you to download the entire course, you have to select each individual item Admittedly none of the problems I mentioned prevent you from taking and going through a course, but the number of features that don’t work makes it difficult to use except in the most basic ways. It’s irritating. I’d stick with the website.

Coursera is Wonderful. Coursera is a wonderful way to learn new things and also a great way to advance your status with your employer or other potential employers, provided you want to obtain a certificate proving you took the course. I am retired and simply enjoy learning new things about the world. The current course I’m taking, Finance from Yale University, is completely free because I don’t need a certificate; however, I plan to use the information gained from the course to possibly increase my wealth.

An Incredible Educational Resource. Hello Coursera team and everyone, When I first stumbled upon Coursera, or rather, discovered through searching for just such a program and resource, I had no idea what an invaluable tool it would be for me. Coursera offers many courses on varying topics by some of the best Universities I’ve ever heard of. Coursera gives me the (free) opportunity to conduct private study into topics quite similar to topics I need to know for my future academic credentials. My route towards my educational end goals may be unorthodox; such as conducting private studies followed by CBEs (Credit By Exams) as well as submitted proof of knowledge gained from external sources from my institution (The University of Kansas). I would like to personally thank everyone who helped to program, construct, and make Coursera a valuable resource to anyone in need of knowledge. Sincerely, Jacob Olson

Cant access help center - Help!. I really like the Coursera app but there are some bugs and I can’t log in to the help center to report them. When I go to the Coursera website, I login, then tap help center. The help center page opens up and prompts me to login. I’m then taken back to the main page where the loop starts over again. 1) completed quizzes are showing up as overdue 2) when a knowledge check occurs mid lesson, the app gets stuck in a loop. I answer the question correctly, but the same question pops up when I try to restart the lesson. If I X out of the question, it still pops back up. I have to force close the app and re-enter my lesson. I’ll change my rating once I hear from someone about getting access to the help center!

Impossible to get tech support with this wonky app and online interface. As long as you never have any problems, tech issues or questions, you may be ok. If you do though you’re entirely screwed. Couldn’t get the interface to let me submit a quiz for one class , and I couldn’t go further without that. I was stuck. Unable to move forward, receiving emails that my coursework was behind, with no way to reach a human being. Ever. Then I had a password issue , and it wouldn’t let me change it . I’m frustrated and annoyed and upset. Without a way to get support when things aren’t working, this is a good idea with horrible execution, and absolutely no concern for the student wanting to learn.

There are bugs somewhere. Taking a second course, I’ve discovered a need which seems missing. There doesn’t seem to be a way to edit one’s forum entry. ————— prior review ———- I've only taken one course on Coursera so I have only narrow experience. The experience I have though is somewhat negative, but I don't know if the problems lie with the app, or the setup and programming on the back end. First experience and consequences. As I watched course videos, many times the system did not recognize that I had watched the video, though I had, and had done so many times in hope that a check mark would appear indicating I had completed this step in the course. The result was assignments were marked as overdue. Second experience. Mini-tests were given, but some items required free form input, but app did not display the iPad keyboard, which meant the question was not answered. Third experience. Multi-choice items sometimes were rendered as radio button rather than checkboxes, allowing only one choice instead of multiple.

Various technical issues. I love Coursera as a platform, but my experience with an app wasn't as good as I wished it would. 1. (In quizzes) Some images can't be fully seen in landscape orientation, the app isn't adapted for iPad. 2. (In quizzes) Contents don't show up every time, sometimes you need to load and unload the page for them to show. But some pages won't load AT ALL. Usually there will be answer variants but no question (first there is a text, but after an image is supposed to be loaded all the question part disappears). 3. Some parts of a course can't been completed on iPad, app simply crashes every time I try to access it. For now I would recommend to use web version of the app, because you would need to use sometimes no matter what (is you can't access the contents), and overall the experience will be better. I hope the development team will take these issues into consideration and FIX the app.

tv. I enjoy this app, and have finished a couple of courses, but was disappointed when—after I signed up—I realized that I wasn’t able to use the tv app because I made my account using Sign In With Apple, since the developers haven’t yet added that option to the tv app. It would be great to watch the videos on the big screen… and, yes, I can use AirPlay, but that defeats the purpose of having the TV app, and takes functionality away from my other device. Please update the TV with full functionality.

So many choices, so little time. Before I retire to a life of volunteering and learning, I was already taking courses from Coursera for what little time I can squeeze from a demanding job. I felt then, and still feel now in my retirement that there are so many high quality choice to learn, and so little time that I have. On top of that, I have since become a mentor and helping other learners on the course that I took and catching up with the ever advancing world of knowledge. It is a great feeling! John

Love Coursera, hate that I can’t use the app.. I’m toward the end of my 7 day trial and I fully plan on purchasing a yearlong membership. It’s a little silly, however, that there is a known login issue for at least this whole time preventing users from logging in on the app. With the correct login information, i still get an “unauthorized request” message. When I contacted support they said their engineering team was working on a fix. My device is compatible (supposedly) and I have up to date software, yet I still can’t use this app, which means I can’t work on my course material anywhere that I don’t have easy access to a web browser.

Great App, but needs some work.. I love Coursera for their service. They’ve helped me figure out if I’d like a new career path for barely a fraction of a price of enrolling at some online college course. The info is valuable, the pace you can learn at is very flexible, and the pricing is reasonable. The app’s stability however needs some work. A few problems I’ve encountered that are pretty annoying: Whenever I try to delete a download on the main page of the course, the app freezes and crashes. Items I’ve completed on a different device won’t sync over. Can be confusing sometimes trying to remember where I left off. Downloads won’t work in general. I’ll have to create a hotspot to get it working, and I recently found out Verizon charges for that so that’s no longer an option. Hopefully these can be fixed soon, once they are it would really be a perfect app.

Love the courses but….. I have had tech (security?) issues galore with this app. I love the classes but since I spend hours trying to trouble shoot bugs, I am extremely frustrated with it. It’s true I have thus far only tried a couple of free classes. The thing is I though I am a bit afraid to actually pay or doing anything very important on this platform because I have had such troubles. It’s a shame because I really believe in the mission and it is (or would be anyway) an amazing resource otherwise. Hope my issues gets reviewed and fixed.

Kierkegaard: irony, subjectivity etc.?. So far this course is the best introduction to K (and Socrates) I have yet to be involved in. The background of K, both in regard to Socratic and Hegel, is indispensable for understanding him and his notions of reflection and subjectivity. In addition, I now understand the legitimacy of Socrates conviction in light of Greek tradition. Hegel's critical analysis of what Socrates was thoroughly enlightening. Prior to this course I had read much of K and S in the past now realize I did not understand either nearly as well as I had imagined; and I have just begun the course.

The iPad app experience is terrible.. I never leave reviews, but I find the iPad app version of Coursera almost completely unusable for completing assignments. I’ve been finishing a course on my iPad, and while the videos and readings seem fine (Mostly...although I do hate that the video transcripts don’t automatically show up on the iPad like they do on my phone.) the assignments are such a problem. They often crash. Even when they don’t crash they are formatted incorrectly, or scroll strangely. It is super painful. The phone app does a better job, but assignments aren’t formatted to be completed on a phone. Overall, just a terrible experience.

Can not use Labs on iPad. Hi, I would like to bring an issue to your attention. When I attempt to open a computer science lab on my iPad, I receive a message stating that the lab is not compatible with this device. Even when I try to access the lab through my web browser, it automatically redirects me to the Coursera app, preventing me from accessing the lab. However, if I uninstall the Coursera app from my device, I can successfully open the lab in my web browser. This means that I cannot have the Coursera app on my iPad if I want to view the lab. I kindly request that this issue be addressed and resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I actually love Coursera, I'm just surprised at sneaky charges. Please fix this Coursera! I see the top in-app purchases are all "Specialization Subscriptions'. That is probably because they all had a problem as I did (when exploring a class ) with clicking on an Enroll button without it being CLEAR there would be an immediate charge. There was CONFIRMATION button or anything. Just snatched the money up and NO WAY provided to cancel or request a refund. I have been trying to make contact to cancel this order since Friday 13th Sept. - immediately after this happened. There is supposed to be a way to cancel within 7 days, but that is not an option for Subscriptions apparently and all I am getting is bot responses from Coursera and Apple.

In accessible and intuitive platform. I’m a blind person, however, this platform presents a mixture of accessibility and content availability that is simply wonderful. for blind people, or at least in my case this presents a wonderful opportunity to learn and progress in a career or further my studies. With this thought in mind, I get full price to the platform. I also hope that more efforts can be put into making the platform as accessible as possible to not only blind people, but other people with any kind of disability.

Unable to cancel subscription, repeatedly.. I found the app useful at first, but ultimately not for me. I considered putting a hold on my subscription until on multiple devices I was unable to manage my subscription at all. I was met with a 403 error message an aggravating amount of times, have been charged again $40 for an app that I don’t use, and will definitely not waste my time with this app again in the future. I’m hoping someone actually responds to my cancellation request before I have to take further action, as these annoyances aren’t worth the price of the app when payment is taken out of the control of the customer. All about the dollars, I know, but I was hoping for better. Make sure you are aware of this before you attempt it.

Courses are great, but issue with App. So far my courses have been great and easy to navigate and work on your own pace. Some work items can only be done on a computer so if your working primarily from an IPad be warned. But I can’t find a place to report an app issue- on both the iPhone app and iPad app- you can’t submit discussion posts- says there as an error and to try again later- but it haven’t worked every time I try. Just wanted to report it somehow! Thanks!

Buggy since 2015. Firstly, this is not a review of Coursera, which is a great platform that is a credit to the internet; this is a review of the app. I first downloaded this app in 2015, and I believe it has actually gotten worse as time goes on. From GUI bugs, to graphical glitches, unresponsiveness, and the final straw for writing this review: Even the support ticket request page doesn’t work. I was required to dig through the web-based help center until I could find the ticket request form. Even trying to send the logs to support, I receive “Error. Device logs are not available. Try again later.” It’s not a great sign when an app is so broken that you can’t even request help properly. Hopefully your mileage will vary. Otherwise stick to the web-based service for now.

Loving Coursera. I am very happy with this app! It helps me keep track of my progress in every course. I see where I am in the course when I first click on it so I know where to start. Thanks for your terrific app! It’s easy to use and enhances my enjoyment of each course. Very well written. The design is just as pleasing as the website and includes the features I need most from it. I haven’t had any problems with this app that I can’t pin on my slow rural Internet broadband. All in all, great app, highly recommend!

Amazing Class- Screen Casts are Super Helpful. I am auditing this class so some of the material is not available to me but the screen casts and the order of the lesson material are exemplary. If you have ever tried to learn something about excel off of You Tube you know that teachers run through something way too fast and you spend a lot of time rewatching and pausing. These screencasts are perfectly paced and easy to follow. The end of lesson post tests are challenging but fair. Great experience and next time I won’t be a cheapskate and actually pay for the class.

A place to go for eager minds and skill collectors. I am loving this service! Have you ever wanted to learn more about a subject either out of your own curiosity or to give you an edge on your resume? Coursera is just what you’ve been looking for! I like to browse the different subjects they offer and if any look useful or interesting I can take the free course and indulge in portioned out sessions of decadent knowledge, or I can pay for the course of o decide I need/want the certificate. I WISH I signed up years ago!

App not working. I uploaded the most recent version of this app, and now I cannot access my courses at all unless I go online and use their website. The only thing I can do using the app is look at a selection of classes, ask for a recommendation, and look at my profile. I can’t even find a place to email them about the problem. I am using an iPad mini with the most recent Apple iOS update. hopefully they will fix this soon, as I do most of my studying off line.

Works great, but murders battery and overheats phone. The UI is great, in some situations I prefer the app over the desktop site. But as a mobile app that lets me access lessons when I can’t be on my computer and near a power outlet, it needs help. Within minutes of the first lesson my phone was almost too hot to touch and the max brightness was reduced to 75%, and soon after it was at 50%. The lesson was downloaded and it was the only thing actively running. Battery was reduced 8% in the short time it was open. Can’t access payment methods within the app. If you subscribe via the app you will automatically be billed through iTunes, however, you can set up a separate credit card though the website. This is for the certifications that don’t have set start dates, some you can start and stop whenever you wish. Others offer degrees which have more rigid classroom structures, I don’t know how they’re billed.

One of the best learning platforms. This platform has motivated and enabled me with the capabilities to pursue my desired profession (web development). I’ve tried other free apps out there and they are good but the courses here (I’m taking the ones from IBM) are thorough and let you see clear examples while trying it yourself. I’m currently combining it with an app called mimo to keep getting better at coding. Good prices and good material. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

Easy and concise!. I discovered the app while I was taking a hotdog break at Costco, lol. I needed to catch up on my Coursera coursework and used my phone to access the Internet. As I was taking the course, I noticed the app add so I downloaded it and started to do my lessons on the app. Much easier than using my browser and design pretty well to work on my phone. Now I don’t have to lug my notepad with me when I am out and about. I’ll be able to take my during my breaks in the lunchroom at work. The app is very convenient.

Issue with iTunes Payment. The app is good and I thought everything was perfect until it was time to turn in an assignment. The assignment part is locked because according to Coursera my subscription had expired. Only I had just subscribed a week prior and it was a 30 day subscription. When I contacted Coursera one agent told me to contact Apple because the payment occurred via iTunes and they don’t have access to their payment platform. When I wrote back another agent told me to unsubscribe from Apple and to pay again but via their website. I feel like this is a trick to get people to subscribe from them directly so that they don’t have to pay Apple the 30% that Apple charges them. It’s ridiculous. Don’t subscribe from Apple if at all possible.

Love the app, great for completing courses on the go. Love the app, it is great for completing courses when you don’t have access to a laptop. The offline videos don’t work very well when there are short quizzes in the middle of the video. It keeps showing the question that you answered last time when your phone was online. You will have to enable cellular phone data if you want to complete courses when you don’t have WiFi access. I hope they fix this in the app.

Buggy app, horrrrrible support. I use many apps and streaming services and none of them have the issues that I have had with Coursera. Their support department is mind blowingly awful. They are nice. They insist that English is not a problem and claim to be personally physically located in Mountain View. Ok. But they almost never understand a question, and the replies are almost never an answer to the question but typically some automatic text that includes similar keywords but is of no help. But in contrast a couple times when I did get through to people who read and understood the inquiry, they answered the question with one reply. Anyway...The content is still not working. Wasted days and hours of Help is no help. Canceling...

Content is good, mobile app has challenges. I’ve been trying to do courses during my daily train commute. The course itself is great, but I continue to run into technical problems: 1) I cannot reply to any discussion questions from the app. I contacted support about this and they asked some routine questions, but ultimately suggested I just use the desktop browser. I have the latest version of iOS and the latest version of this app. Why have a mobile app if it doesn’t work and you don’t intend to fix it? 2) Items that have been completed (and show as completed on desktop) consistently show as incomplete in the app. 3) I typed out a long support ticket, which then would not submit through the app. Like I said, the content is good. But the app has bugs that really degrade the user experience and make it challenging for me to justify continuing to use, since my commute time is the best time to do courses.

Awful app. This is the worst experience I've ever had with an app. It keeps crashing, won't stay open. Horrible experience. I signed up for a class and there doesn't appear to be any way to view the class contents. I can view each section sequentially but there doesn't appear to be any way to go back and view a prior section. When in some sections there are menu items that float over the top of the lesson blocking the ability to read the actual lesson text. I tried to view the help section but each time I open it the app fails and I'm kicked off. I tried sending a request for help and I just get a spinning cursor. I don't understand why so many people rated this app so highly. I don't have this issue with any other apps on my iPad.

Coursera is an excellent platform!. I have enjoyed taking several Coursera courses and each one is of great quality and value. I like the fact that you can take the course anytime of day or night and go at your own pace. Most of the instructors are at the top of their game and are well known in the field. I’ve taken courses in survey design and statistics as well and as well as music theory. I believe Coursera is a model for how online learning should be done!

Please Fix Note Feature.. Everything on the platform runs smoothly. However, there are possible glitches present with the note-taking feature. I am not sure if there are limits on the number of notes permitted for each course. However, after the third video for the first week the feature no longer works. I’ve tried deleting other notes, trying other videos - for the same week / other weeks, changing the settings on the app, clearing cache, toggling between the app/website, restarting the app/device, logging out/in, etc. No solution, yet.

It’s broken. I love course Coursera and if there was a helpline I would be addressing this privately. But… This new app is totally broken. At least it is on my iPhone X. It crashes all the time. I restart it and it starts at the beginning of the video that I was in the middle of. If I don’t know where I was it’s a pain to try to figure out where to start. And I can’t know where I was because tapping the screen while the video’s playing, which should provide a timeline and a pause button, does absolutely nothing. Rotating the phone horizontally doesn’t work properly - the video should fill the screen and it doesn’t fill the screen. Aside from crashing the apples freezes repeatedly. I could go on. Please return to your simpler, functional app until you’ve completed QC and testing.
