Great Genealogy App. I have been using Find A Grave for several years and love how helpful it has been in gathering information on my ancestors. Headstones are the source of a wealth of information, including names (and maiden names). Dates of birth, death, marriage. You might find names of children or see other headstones nearby that are relatives. I have become a volunteer photographer and recently my husband and I added 1,300 memorials to small Mexican/Yaqui Indian cemetery. You can help too. Just log in and take a look.

App is great!. Very easy to use The only exception is for military rankings/occupations when contributing or editing look to be more centered around modern army/marines and not enough Naval and possibly Air Force. There is no “Cook” or QM denotations either. Many placards I come across that are Navy have very different and very specific descriptions of the veteran’s status that are not included in the minimal list given. Another thing I would like to see happen is the option to select which war(s)/conflict(s) they were involved in.

Memorials. It’s such a great feeling when you search for a name you need to find & the memorial is there. There are frustrations when you have further information on that memorial and it seems like the person who has it is not responding. Find a Grave is a great tool for Ancestry. It’s wonderful when all family members can be remembered and information can be shared with others needing clarification on their relatives.

Hard to use - search feature doesn’t work??. Trying to add cemeteries near me to my “favorites” list, I am not able to get the search to find the cemetery even though I was able to use the map to find it (also was not able to get the map search to work, I had to manually zoom in to find the cemetery). Even when I found the cemetery marked on the map, I was unable to click it to select it to add to my list. What the heck?? Weird that the name of the town and the actual name of the cemetery don’t come up in the search at all. Frustrating, I hope you guys sort this out. Thanks.

Great grave info app, and developers responsive!. A huge thank you to Find-a-Grave app developers for recently adding iPad Landscape support, greatly appreciated! They do read user feedback and work hard to accommodate our suggestions. The Find-a-Grave app provides great grave info searches, including matches by name, date, location, as well as whatever grave info is available, including locations, obituaries, etc. Very helpful to find someone based on partial info and to narrow the search. With the latest updates, very well done and helpful app, and runs nicely across different devices.

Love this app!. This app has come a long way since I started using it. I tell everyone about it and many have never heard of it. I hope others join in to help with photos, but I believe that your photos will have better quality if you carry flowers from one to the other to add color, making it clear to read the headstone.

Creepy. I find this extremely strange. People who don’t even know someone is creating memorials within 24 hours of their deaths. Instead of focusing on memorializing a person like they will copy entire news articles about how the person died. Loved ones already know this information they shouldn’t have to have it posted on an a memorial. When you send a message to the person that created the memorial and let them know they have incorrect information since they didn’t wait for the actual information be released the become defense and let you know your advice and opinion isn’t wanted or needed.

Awesome App. I have just got started looking into my family history thanks to my uncle he has helped me with this app if the memorial page is uploaded and updated correctly you will be able to see pictures and also find the grave where your love one has been layed to rest the map on here will not only take you to the cemetery where you family member is buried but on some memorials maps it will take you straight to there grave so that you don’t have to search the whole grave yard to find your loved one.

Excellent App, Real Potential to be Indispensable. The basic functionality of the app is definitely there. You can search by individuals or find cemeteries based on simple data searches. You can create new memorials and upload their pics to fill in gaps in a given cemetery’s entries. It’s basic functions are all there and all sound. However if you don’t type the name of the cemetery the same way it’s formatted in the app, this causes failed searches (ie “Greenlawn” vs “Green Lawn”). It needs to be a more flexible search parameter setup. Ideally what I would really love would be ability to ultimately take my saved virtual cemeteries and the saved favorite gravesites buried there, and have the app generate a basic map of the cemetery with a simple line route connecting them, so when I visit I can most easily visit all the notable graves I don’t want to miss. Maybe even tie it into Google live GPS services so we can actually track where we are in the cemetery as we move about. THAT would be the best and most logical extension of all our curated and stored cemeteries and favorited graves.

Love this site. Find a Grave is a great to in our ancestry. If used correctly. Since it’s all volunteers, you depend on the accuracy of hat they put on the site. The biggest downfall with this is people only caring about their numbers. They get information from funeral homes and create memorials immediately. This leaves people who want to manage close friends and or family members outside the guidelines unable to be the manager. Many of these “numbers” people copy and paste obituary, which includes names of living relatives. They also use the pictures provided to the funeral homes. To me find a grave is exactly that- finding the grave. Not create a memorial. Just wish there was a cap or something to keep these people from grabbing all memorials. Or at least not make them immediately upon publishing.

Why require iOS 12 on iPhone only?. This previously working app stopped working due to a recent change at FamilySearch (I presume). It says an update is required. When I try to update, it requires ios12. Why? I am running iOS 11.4 on both my phone and iPad. The iPad version continues to work and does not require an update or an OS upgrade. And by the way, it is way too early to abandon iOS 11 support. Most apps will maybe not support new features until you upgrade, but it is rare to not offer a few versions with downward compatibility. Shame on your developers for letting this happen.

Can spend hours without realizing it. I really enjoy the application. I do wish you would remove number counts of markers from people. I believe it fosters a competition mindset. As a relative, I find it frustrating the unwillingness to assign graves to direct descendants by many individuals that appear to hold certain cemeteries almost hostage. I would like to maintain my grandparents and other immediate family members held by someone completely unrelated to our family.

Russel T Crichton. Tom was a gentile Giant. I‘ve never met a Kinder more affiable person. We. We’re classmates in the Basic German Course at Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey, California in 71‘-72‘ and the Basic Interrogation Course, U.S. Army Intelligence Center and School, Fort Huachuca,Arizona, March -June 72‘. We served together at Border Resident Iffice Cham, as observers of Communist Czechoslovakia June 72 - January 74. U last saw Tom in January 1974 when I was on my way to my next assignment at Ft Huachuca, AZ. I was saddened to learn of Tom‘s passing. He left us to soon. May his memory be a blessing.

Not happy. Your mobile app does not work. It is not easy to navigate as happy as I was on Sunday It’s certainly changed overnight. I was very happy that you guys got a picture of my mothers grave in an hour. I was very impressed but then when I found out that my sister took over the page I made for my mother. I was absolutely disgusted, she has no rights and you guys just let her steal the page from underneath me and delete my photos. I am going to take everything off of here. I will not have my estranged sister who doesn’t see anybody in the family except causes hatred in the family take ownership. I was stripped of all my rights it’s not even coming up as my favorite and her initials are at the bottom of the page. She’s only doing this spite me and I think it’s very unfair you guys do nothing about it. I keep contacting you and you don’t answer and then online your support email isn’t valid. This is a terrible way to treat customers that are grieving. Even your star rating doesn’t even let you put one or two stars on there.

Great app although…. When you report a duplicate grave, the burden is placed back on you. I understand we are volunteers, but really it would take someone 1 minute to see the clear duplicates and either remove them all together, or to remove the dup, annotate the original, and place the dup in a separate section just in case.

New Hobby with real impact. I like how I’m able to fill requests by people looking for images of their relatives grave stones. It’s also nice that their is an option to have photos upload once I’m on wifi. There are a few glitches here and there, but nothing that is too bad. Sometimes once I create a grave site, I have to go through and try to find it again in my managed sites to then add a photo / edit info. I highly recommend this app.

Very interesting. I’ve been working on my family tree since I was 12 years old and I feel that find-a-grave has helped me quite a bit with finding family members I didn’t know about. I also found interesting on the side about my dad’s best friend’s family and my boyfriend’s family, which my boyfriend was willing to discuss.

Being Hard to Claim a Family Member. I have tried many times to suggest a management transfer of my family members to me and nothing has happened. This is frustrating and I wish there was a separate way to suggest a transfer, not just using suggest other corrections, because some people have so many memorials added that they don’t go through every edit suggestion. But I appreciate that there is a site to search for gravestones of your family and it has been a great resource

Dissatisfied. The mobile version of this is inadequate Why isn’t it anything like the website? There: Put in a name and you get results. The app is looking for input that is very specific and is really particular. The secret formula is yet to be discovered by me. This is all I know the app has been useless to me … even when trying to get it to give me information I already know -it hasn’t . Thinking maybe if I can see how it brings up info I’ll be able to learn how to find information I wish to discover. The website has been fantastic!!

Feedback to developers. Love the GPS. Where can I respond to Messages on the app? Doesn’t seem to be available. E.g., I got an email saying someone left a message. When I click on button in email (from my phone) it takes me to web page (not app) but I’m not logged in…. so I open app where I AM logged in and can not find Messages area. Also fyi it may be iPhone incompatibility but my camera just goes black if I try to use camera within the app. (Instead have to pull from my photo library which is fine…. Just letting you know!)*** July 4 Update: photo issue solved! I only needed to allow camera access to the app. Sorry!

Major alignment issues(Nothing helped). Neither one of these suggestions helped on both an iPad mini or large iPad Pro. The problem started immediately with the February 2 update on both devices. Dropped this review down from 5 stars to 1 because the latest update has caused text to be written over other text both on an iPad Mini and the large iPad Pro. Just sloppy programming. First programming assignment is usually some type of output alignment. No excuse for this. The app is virtually unusable now, Old review.. First of all I want to say how helpful Find a Grave has been for me over the years. I’ve found many ancestors because of it. The history it provides is priceless. There is an issue with searching that just started this past week. I’m a student of President Harry S Truman and I’ve used Find a Grave to learn more about many of the people I learn about through my research. I first noticed this problem when I searched on Harry S Truman a few days ago. He started not showing up on searches. Neither does Richard Nixon or John F Kennedy. Other searches appear to be okay. And, if you search using the website the searches do work. The one common denominator I’ve been able to determine is famous people using the iOS app.

Fantastic tool!. I have been a family archivist, and genealogist for 20, and now a local Historic Commissioner. I’ve used findagrave’s website as a favorite tool forever. Now to have the chance to be on foot geotagging stones, adding memorials, and photos on the app from absolutely anywhere is AMAZING!!!! What an incredible opportunity you give us to share knowledge far and wide with such ease!

A find it to be good, but.... This app fills my needs and I find it very useful. However it DESPERATELY needs an option for default settings. For instance in MY case most of my searches are for Broome County in New York in the United States. I have to select each of those for each search. How about giving us the option to make a default selection for each time we fire up a search? Of course we could re-select something different when THAT need arises. Me, I would default to United States and New York. Or perhaps tweak the app to where the next time you launch it that it pre-selects the same country etc that you selected the previous time? I am really TIRED of having to start from scratch each time. I am dropping my rating from 3 to 2.

Amazing volunteers connecting family. This application is really the best. It is a community of volunteers, working together to memorialize grave markers for everyone! It allows families to connect, by linking, even if they are in different places and provides a causal user benefit if they just want to know who came before them. It allows people to personalize the memorials, add photos, and to- with a small fee- purchase a memorial without ads and unlimited photographs. No other cite is as valuable a resource for helping people who are working on family history. Thank you so much for those who have made it and for those who work so hard to make it wonderful.

The worst managed site.. The idea here is great however, they let just any John Doe manage a memorial. You do not even have to be related. I have found multiple relatives with incorrect or missing info due to their management. Incorrect birth dates, death dates, parents, etc. I’ve requested to take over management of my grand mother with missing info but have not heard back. Be careful relying on info you find for ancestry research. You should be able to add a memorials but unless you’re related you should not be able to manage that memorial. It should stay open for a family member to claim so info can be corrected. When this gets changed I’ll update my review.

Educate with rules first.. I was introduced to FG over 10 years ago. Having out of town relatives I thought it would be an awesome place to place flowers. Problems: 1. The mobile app doesn’t always find the memorial. You must go to website. 2. Anyone can place information by way of photo. This is a problem if incorrectly identified and even if you created or manage the memorial it cannot be removed unless go through FG and they agree. 3. Asking for support before a situation happens causes merge errors. 4. If you have a private individual account and have access to a group account ( school, church, societies etc. is forbidden) this is not allowed. I was helping my high school and before warning, FG merged their account with mine yet deleted memorials. 5. Caution using this app.

Find A Grave websites. Old versus New. When Find A Grave first started out, people could in and add a lot of information about there families, including family members, and stories about these people. But for some reason, a few years ago, they switched to a different account, and now all this information people had previously entered is no longer available as they did not transfer over. This information was vital, as it contained information other people were looking for. Why did this happen?

Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church (Dallas, N.C.). I attended a church service here. In attempt to get some information or schematic of their graveyard. The pastor introduced me to a guy that was over the cemetery. After the pastor walked off i proceeded to tell him what I needed. He was downright rude and acted as if he had no time for me. I told him I was a volunteer for Find A Grace. He then reluctantly said he had a book. One that list where families had acquired plots. I gave him my number and asked him to call me. Even though he still continued to be rude. He never called. I’m sorry for those who need information. In some areas headstone are broken and piled up. He also told a member from our church his wife couldn’t be buried in front. He was wrong and she was buried. I myself will not be going back. No telling what he may do. Maybe he will be nice to another. I say good luck. Thank you

Invaluable Historical Resource. You could never replace the precious info that's been stored in this Database since it's inception. This App has revolutionized Ancestry, Genealogy, Human & Personal Family studies as well as American History overall. Especially knowledge passed on from generation to generation that will never be found in any publication. Future generations will thank you for this irreplaceable knowledge that will educate and enhance people's lives in unimaginable ways.

Decent app, but some features missing. This is a reasonably good app for performing many of the core functions of the Findagrave site, but a few things are missing. In particular, you cannot view your messages to and from other users. Nor can you send new messages from here in the app. You can suggest edits for a memorial, but you can't view anything about your past edit suggestions. Also, the screen for suggesting edits does not include a slot for edits to the bio. You can get around these limits by tapping on "view memorial on findagrave com" on a memorial, and then navigating within the little web browser that opens up, but in that case you’re better off using your iPad's web browser to go to the site in the first place. Feb 2024. App v 1.21.2

Transcribing photos. Great updates to the last few versions, it has made using the mobile version much friendlier to use. It may already be in the workings since it was added to one of the latest mobile updates, but being able to navigate and skip photos when transcribing on the desktop version is a much needed addition. I, I’m sure along with many other contributors mainly use the desktop version to submit most entries because of ease of use. This addition, along with a contributor’s ability to forego the 7 days for others to transcribe photos would be a much needed and great addition to the desktop version to streamline new memorials. Also the ability to report duplicate memorials and combine them was a much needed and excellent addition to recent changes. Keep up the great work find a grave team.

Serial Memorial makers. I don’t like these people using my tree to make my family’s memorials. As another Commenter said it’s creepy & some of these people are very rude & unhelpful. If you know the info is incorrect you want it changed. So is documented & some may be because you knew the person & know it’s factual. Knowing you’re owned by ancestry why can’t you make sure that Memorial makers are family members. The woman who got nasty with me is not a family member. She created wrong info for my great great grandmother off of a cousins tree in New Zealand. That guy is by marriage & he will not even change the info on his tree. I have proof of our family & these two are wrong. At least make it easier for us to get our family away from the people.

Good app! One sorting recommendation. Great app! I use it a lot and often try to update pics or GPS coordinates for people. One thing that would be helpful is I am always curious who the oldest/youngest person is buried in a cemetery - so would be nice to sort the list based on year born (earliest - recent, recent - earliest) Unknown’s could be listed at the bottom or something.

Corrections. I found mistakes in the spelling of the names of Glenn Basil Allred’s (my father) children (myself) and his grandchildren (my children). My name is spelled Donita Ray Allred. My daughter’s name is spelled Jeanita Lee Newton. My other daughter’s name is spelled Jerilyn Raynae Rule. I do not recognize the name or who supplied this information, but this is my family and I know the correct information which should apply to this grave, etc. Also, my maternal grandmother, Wilma Laughter Watson did not have a middle name. The information here shows Lina as her middle name which is wrong.

Great App, but …….. I enjoy wandering cemeteries to try and fulfill photo requests. It seems like you can sort the open requests by everything but the obvious- section and plot/lot. I’d like to sort by cemetery, then section, plot, and then alpha. It’s hard to navigate large lists, in huge cemeteries, while scrolling up and down hundreds of request. At the very least, give “Section” and “Lot” an alphanumerical, dedicated column in your database and let us filter on the values.

Tippe history center. We have the folkemer funeral home books in book 6 page 246. Thomas died at the indiana soldiers home in tippecanoe county body was moved to Greentown to the Fulwidler undertakers He was not in Indianapolis at time of death Thank you You called today we think. We wished we asked you these questions I am the volunteer Amy you talked to is the hired genealogist. How did you find Sheridan sold his farm. Do you have copy of record. Also how do you know what year Suzanna died? Record would be greatly appreciated for our family file We went to the courthouse last week looking for guardian papers for the three children. We found all the records but the very early ones they would have been in. The courthouse then was in another town. Whether those records lost when moved we don’t know. It seemed all records for the time period we wanted were missing. I believe the family to be Catholic. Maybe in church records somewhere. Do you agree with this thought?

Keeps getting better and better. I love the enhancements the that keep getting added. 1. I would like the app to track how many sites I have GPS marked. 2. The blue font color for cancel/ add when GPS marking graves is very hard to see when in bright sunlight. I don’t want to run at full brightness eating up my battery and shorting my time in the cemetery.

The lost ones. There are people who have walked this earth and have passed with no grave stone or cremated remains in a specific location. Will there be an opportunity to list these people with loved ones with their family on this application? I have two examples; one is an indigenous person buried on sacred land not marked for individuals but for community. Another is a person who wished his ashes be scattered in a park that he loved, again no marker, no registry and most likely against the law but your app would show the connection to the past with us in the present.

Memorial for Curien Conro. This is my great grandfather and he did not have a Memorial or a grave site. I got in touch with St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he was a member. I was referred to Deacon James Ward, who checked their records, and found where Curien Conro was buried. James took pictures right away with the explanation that Curien was buried inbetween two graves, but had no head stone. That is why no one was able to locate Curien’s grave and some day I hope to give him a head stone. Janet Sweet Lux

A couple issues. I tried to create an account yesterday for a person that was a junior. In the prefixes there are a senior/SR, but the junior has a BR in that spot instead of a JR. Please correct that. Thank you. Also, Find a Grave has the way they do the recently deceased is so aggravating, all I wanna do is add a picture and I can’t do anything. I have one account that I’ve been watching since July and no one has taken over the account, how long does it stay under recently deceased? And,I was GPS’ing a grave in Rockford Cemetery yesterday when it got close to the grave the information went away on my map so I couldn’t keep looking for the grave, why did that change? Also, I tried to enter a nickname and I had to put crazy letters in because they’re all taken.

Great site. This is a great app. Tons of information to help loved ones find graves. It is super easy to use! I have added my parents & linked them to their siblings in hopes that one day my nieces & nephews will want to visit their grave sites. This will make finding them easy, and provide information that can be lost generation to generation. And, so far it is FREE!

Memorial Transfer Enhancement. The app is great and very useful In Genealogy research. One enhancement that I think could be improve the app is to improve the process to request a transfer of a memorial. Typing out the request in a Inscription or bio field seems inefficient and if no one is actively managing the memorial, it is quite the process to have a memorial transferred. Should be a button to request memorial transfer and if not answered in 7-10 days it should auto-transfer.

Good app but needs request dates. I love using the app and taking pics to help out those that want to see a relative’s grave. However the app does not show the date that a request was made, which is a better indicator whether the grave is really there or not than the report a problem function which not everyone uses. Also what would be great is a bookmark tab under each cemetery to refine those that you will attempt to look for into a single easy to reference window for that particular location.

Great for Creating Memorials. I like using the app to create memorials while walking the rows in my local cemeteries. Adding GPS location data is easy for existing memorials as well. However, the app has numerous bugs that make managing memorials I create difficult: The GPS required icon on the thumbnails will not turn off. If a photo is deleted from a memorial it is deleted from all of the other memorials where it is attached. Filters are ignored when making edits such as show memorials with no plot info, add the plot info and save, the memorial is still in the list.

Totally Addicted!. The app is simple and effective. It is a true gift to those looking for information on ancestry, and a lovely hobby for those who just enjoy the cemetery atmosphere. The concept is golden. I was also impressed to find that the app draws the gps coordinates from photos taken on Apple. Super convenient when you didn’t take the time to identify in the field. Overall my wife and I are loving it, we can’t wait to see how far our transcribing journey can reach!

Too quirky. If you started with email to receive requests you can’t get the app to manage them you have to go back and forth and it’s confusing. I’ve added 250 photos and some of them to the wrong cemetery because two cemeteries are close in name & the app is quirky trying to go through and delete them and re-add them. So I’m not going to. I’ve sent a message but haven’t heard back to see if they can fix them. There’s a tab in the app to click on cemetery & you would think the pics you’ve added to a certain cemetery would be in there. They are not. They suggest you take pictures of family members so I’ve done that only to get messages to delete them from the family member’s memorial. No clue how to make them a memorial themselves.

Amazing Service! Broken Transcription Volunteering. EDIT 11 July 2023: The "Transcribe" section shows 5 photos, then makes you wait 30 minutes to show 5 new photos. Please fix this so that users can volunteer their time and transcribe as many photos as they want to instead of having to wait 30 minutes for 5 new photos every time. -------------------- This website is an amazing resource for amateur genealogists. I would like to volunteer my time using the "Transcribe" section, but it almost always says "There are no photos available to transcribe." on both the website and the app.

Great Historical Tool. I love this app. I love that you can create relationships to travel the family tree. I wish it had a recents so you don’t have to search someone you were just at that wasn’t attached to their spouse or their child/father or child/mother. I love taking pictures of graves and adding them in because I know I want to see my family and if they’re not in here i want to go and get pictures.

Cannot add memorial for those who have been cremated. I’ve been a member of Find a Grave for several years now. Find a Grave has helped me find information needed for my tree. But I’ve also discovered a lot of incorrect information. What I find aggravating about this app is I cannot creat a memorial for my loved ones who was cremated. An members of Find a Grave who already created memorials have added burial locations that is incorrect because you must add burial locations. Find a Grave needs to make it where those can add info without having to add a cemetery. Some people scatter their ashes. Disappointed in app.

Cemetery names & locations. In Louisville, Ky their are two large separate cemeteries that are adjacent to each other. A large wall separates them. Each has a separate property address. On my IPhone photos taken in them the location comes up the same for both cemeteries. Our IPhone 8’s have the latest Apple updates and Find A Grave updates. This week a photo taken at a different cemetery about 5 miles from the other two was misidentified. With today’s technology I find these happenings unacceptable. Go ahead Apple and Find A Grave and blame the satellites and GPS system.

Works very well. I have using for about 2 weeks and posted about 250 photos and about 30 new memorials. In works very well and so far no bugs.

Good, but needs improvements.. This app is good, and fun. However, it wold be good if there was the ability to send messages from the app. There could also be a setting for d/m/y as well as m/d/y. The app could also be easier to navigate, with easier access to favourited cemeteries and maybe a function to visit featured memorial and leave flowed via the app. Overall, it is a good app that only bugs a few times!

woowoo gets alot of information wrong wondering why he/she bothers. !woowoo

Review. Good morning this is a wonderful site i am enjoying updating my family graves. Only one issue I have could the site be extended for transfer of graves past 1st cousin as I have Great uncles and aunts ( my grandfather brothers and sisters)that I would love to transfer back to myself. Yours Sincerely Monique Parker ID: #50922864

Works fairly well. Does what it says but when you want to take a photo you seem to have to click too many times to make that task happen. Could be streamlined a bit better. Helps nicely when folk take clear photos and some close ups of the inscriptions. Would love to be able to use my phone camera zoom and wider angle as you can find yourself falling over the grave behind you trying to fit the one you want into the frame. Keep on improving it please.

Memories. Love this app

Rubbish.. My title says it all.

Great App. Love this App. Gives me something to do while out walking. What would be a great addition to the app would be the a map of sections and plot numbers. This would make graves much quicker to find in bigger cemeteries. Maybe use the GPS data to build a virtual map of the cemeteries so grave locations could be approximated? Thanks for the app

No results for me in the UK!. I have found and created memorials, but was surprised that I could not find any records of relatives in the UK! Has anyone else had this issue? I have found records in India and in Australia. I also notice that when I entered surnames with an apostrophie, the apostrophie gets removed when I save the record. Accidently also found that I could fix by using the website, so I have. There is a logical issue with the software that does not allow GPS locations of Church Collumbariums. Please fix as I believe it should be an easy fix. I am sure this must be affecting many people with the number of cremations. Waiting for this to happen!

What a gem!. Just loving this app! And just loving all the helpful Find-a-Grave community. A must for all those who are 'stalking dead people'!

Cemetery search for Ancestry. Does not work

Hmm. Does not work..:-/

M. This is good as long as people help each other, and all the cemeteries were there , should be able to add more there are lots missing

So useful!. The best free genealogy resource out there.

Privacy Statement to confusing. Great app but the privacy statement is to complex and confusing.

Great site and amazing members. This app is as good as the people who log onto it and they are absolutely fabulous. I have been working on my family tree for many years and know the barriers with finding information. This site assists with reducing these barriers due to the extensive database, coupled with thousands of amazing like minded people who help by adding information, taking photos and completing requests. This has made it possible for me to see the final resting place of family members that I would never be able to find or see as they are buried overseas. Can’t talk high enough of this app.

No results. Never any results

Thank you. Just a quick thank you to the developers who are managing this app. The effort to improve the app has been excellent and is greatly appreciated by myself. Your also very quick in resolving any bugs which is also appreciated. Keep up the good work!

Hopeless. App is useless and does not work - it does Ancestry no favours being associated with this app.

Love this site. Really helps doing my family tree thankyou Jill

Not Useful. Has no information even though I have entered all the info on the sister company ancestry.com, what a waste of time

Blocking another member for abuse. The Find A Grave website needs a way for members to block another member who is abusive and also links to other social media sites.

My Sister. My name is Dianne Milne. I have been searching for my sister’s grave. My Sister’s name is Julieanne Betteridge (née Eagles)Died on the 30th November 2020 Lester and Son Funeral service in Albury. My Sister was cremated Church Service was at St Mathews Church on the 8th December 2020 . I was to believe that her Ashes were layed to rest with her Mother and Father James Edward Eagles,Kathleen Eva Eagles, and David Eagles (Brother )at Glen Morris cemetery Albury,N.S.W but when I search I don’t get any information. I was wondering if you could help as I would like to know where she is. Thank You Sincerely Dianne Milne (née Eagles)

Needs message ability. Great app, but I would love to send messages and reply to them via this app instead of going to the website.

Needs a block button. Women are getting harassed and bullied by men on this app with no ability to block! In this day and age you need to ensure the app is safe for everyone to contribute freely. Please create a block button!

Disappointed. Disappointed that you can’t add photos, info, new cemeteries or lone graves or if you can it’s not user friendly

Brilliant!. I am an avid user of and contributor to this Find A Grave so it is fantastic to get access to it when I am on the go.

iPad. Needs to be updated for landscape view on ipad

Great app…. Enjoy using it but latest Update signed me out of app & my Saved Info won’t let me sign back in now. I even tried to manually put it in instead of using Auto Fill & it’s still a No Go. Hope you will fix whatever happened,

Mistakes mistakes..... How can you correct mistakes made by somebody? Impossible. That’s bad...

Excellent !. Thanks Ancestry for listening to your clients needs!

Email messsages. There’s no where to retrieve messages on this app. Only the olde version of the website app has an actual “messages” tab. Several emails to the developer have gone unanswered.

Very nice first effort!. I particularly appreciate being able to narrow a search to a specific Canadian province and "county", something which currently cannot be done at the website.

No Marker Graves. The app needs to be able to filter out requests where someone has determined a problem as well as the ones that people post requests for photos and they already have noted there is no marker present. It takes too much time to drill through each request one at a time only to find it can’t be fulfilled.

Great app...but. 1. Should be able to remove requests sent to you, that you cannot find without removing it completely 2. Should be able to block people who repetitively lecture you about the angle of the photos submitted

Find A Grave. Excellent tool for finding relatives. Depends on volunteers who enter memorials. Not all graves are entered! If you have documentation or personal knowledge regarding a grave, then you to can become a member volunteer and enter missing memorials and / or enhance the information that may be missing on others. Thank you to all those volunteers who provide us with so much valuable information.

Find a grave. An amazing tool for working on family history

In Memory of Avalanna Routh. I’m so blessed and very happy with this app find a grave it is so easy to use and it almost the same thing as the website which I can do both of them and it much better for me is because it has a Map as well this way I can find Avalanna’s grave in Merrimac Massachusetts in Boston so the next time whenever I do travel I’ll be able to know where it is myself and so I bring flowers by Avalanna’s resting place she is buried at the Locust Grove Cemetery and anyways I’m so glad that to have this app and their website find a grave is the best way to find your loved ones grave of their burial of their resting at the cemetery and specially for me how I found Avalanna’s grave and her resting place of where she was buried it was so easy for me to find it me like I said it is so easy and I love this so much

Why. Why would you tell the world where all of these peoples grave are. How stupid do you have to be to do that.

Great App!!. Easy to use App - great for finding graveyards &/or listings. Easy to add entries as well.

Disappointing. I was excited to see this app would record GPS readings at graveside. I tried it this morning for the first time and the pin was so far off the grid that it didn’t even appear inside the cemetery. There would be no chance of anyone finding the site based on these coordinates. I know GPS accuracy can vary by a few metres due to certain conditions and poor triangulation, but this is bad. Bright sunny day today with no interference. Also, didn’t use the app to take a photo of the memorial because I like to take several pics and choose the best one to upload. Theoretically a great idea, but not going to bother with the app.

Adding gravestones to site. This is a wonderful way during the pandemic to get outside in the fresh air in my community and surrounding area while keeping distanced from others. You help with family research, get exercise and I enjoy seeing the headstones in the older parts of the cemeteries

Too slow on upload. Have been trying to upload all day and have so far uploaded 196 headstones over several hours. My internet isn't great but I can upload 400 pictures on billion graves in an hour so am blaming this app for the slowness. Other than that I like the look of it and the easy entry for transcription. Would prefer a couple changes: make uploads faster, have the next button through the entire date - many headstones only have the year, for the country of death etc allow for typing of the country so you are not scrolling constantly and consider adding marriage date for the extra details. This is something that is sometimes on headstones that is very useful info.

Grave Finder. Absolutely amazing easy to use and makes finding Cemetery's much easier.

No luck. Not sure if I'm using this app. properly as I cannot find even my family plot.

Amazing app for family history. This app is excellent for researching my family tree!

Worth the wait. Very stable, well-designed app. I'm sure it will contribute much to Find a Grave's goal.

Needs work.. Should be able to read and respond to messages within the app. Currently can’t.

Awesome App. Find your Family. Can take pictures for others not in that area or can ask for someone to take pictures from areas you can’t get to.

So appreciated!. Is this site perfect? No but it certainly fills a lot of needs. Sometimes I wish I could edit things my self but I’ve had no problems getting my concerns addressed. It’s free which is a rarity these days. So appreciate finding info that I was unable to obtain myself. I love it!

Such a great site!. I’m so glad i discovered Find-A-Grave. I’ve found friends I lost contact with years ago who have passed away. I would have never know had it not been for this site. I was searching for a few friends to try and reconnect — and was led to this site. I’d still be searching had I not found them here.

Invasion of privacy. I was horrified to find out a memorial hoarder took my father’s obituary & plagiarized what our family wrote, and they stole the photo from the obituary. My mother wasn’t dead a month & the grave stalker started a memorial for her. I had to fight to get the memorials relinquished & had to deal with these freaks who kept attempting to edit my Father’s information & add the stolen obituary photo. Laws should be passed to not include any additions to this site if the death happened less than 25 years ago & if the children of the deceased are alive. This site is for a bunch of fat losers with no lives.

Posting of recent deaths.. Please help us stop the posting of Find a grave postings done immediately after a persons death. I have done one with the family’s permission and still wonder if it was appropriate. Help us set a fair and a kind time period for all. 13 years of service. Virginia Kysh

Henry Sheridan Adkins. He was my great grandfather and I noticed that his family is listed but not my grandmother and her twin sister. My grandmother was Maude Laney Adkins and is now buried in Rockholds at Broyles Cemetery beside my grandfather Framk Wofford Her twin sister was Almedia Jane Adkins. They were born on August 22, 1885. My grandmother is buried in Broyles Cemetery in Rockholds alongside my grandfather Frank Wolford King. Twin died ~1900.

My rating. Love the way everything is organized and how easy it is to link people and this is just such an amazing website thank you so much for creating this!!

Great resource!. FindAGrave is a fantastic resource for anyone doing genealogy research. App is user-friendly and works great. Wish it was just a little more linear in the process of fulfilling requests or cataloging several memorials at the same location. Not a deal breaker though.

Why is my ap no longer opening?. I have created memorials that I have had for years. I have an updated IOS for my iPhone 6splus I finally deleted and reinstalled and signed in. All memorials are showing up in random cemeteries. Some missing and I needed to search for them in Find My Grave and re-save to the correct cemetery. Something definitely wrong! Have been using ap for many years and never had a problem before.

Great app, but some functionalities are missing. I love this app! It’s so convenient and easy to use. It definitely helps me with my genealogy work. There are only two issues that are slightly bothering me about this app: It drains my phone battery quite a lot (obviously depending on the usage of the app) and there are some functionalities missing in comparison to the website.

Sadly worthless. I was searching for the grave of my sister, who died in infancy years before I was born, in a foreign country. I put in the details I had - no results. Then I entered the details of my paternal grandmother’s gravesite (of which I know the location) - no results. Paternal grandfather? No results. Father? No results. Mother? No results. All of these are in the public record and can be found via Google. How do we stand a remote chance of finding a grave so much further afield if the ones that are easy to find don’t even show up here? So disappointed.

Share function. This app keeps improving but every update creates more bugs like the share function doesn’t work because the selection window doesn’t come up into the display screen. Fix it please. Developer quickly responded to my problem so I increased my rating by one star

Could use one minor fix. Whenever I open the app, the map view is automatically defaulted to street map but I would like to see the default map view to be based on what map view the user sets so they don’t have to continuously change their setting each time.

Frustrated!!!. Hello again Find A Grave folks. I’ve been using and loving this app for almost 9 years. Well I loved it up until the format changed. You use to be able to see who died or was born on today’s date, and recent deaths etc., now I’m not sure if it’s something on my end but it is nowhere to close as good as it used to be. I travel for work and as a side hobby on my trips I enjoy finding and visiting famous or notable peoples graves. This new interface is no good for me.

Duplicates. I love this app and the site, but can you please make a way to merge duplicates? There are some that add memorials to cemeteries without checking if the person has been added. I have a few that the stones have their nickname and their memorial is under their full name. For genealogists, it’s better that the name is the full name and birth and death dates. Please look into a merge feature.

Loved but upset now. I loved this for remembering my family members and tracking the family lineage. But they allowed the crematory to create a posting and his bio is an ad for them and his birthdate is all wrong. One very upset family member. Edit fantastic quick response to issue my parents are now mine.

findagrave. Find A Grave is another genealogy information site as well you can Memorialize you loved ones, people who you may have crossed paths with and they don’t have anyone to post a memory about them and a lot other genealogy websites connect with findagrave too enhance research for those looking for information

Password reset. After hits an misses the person who helped me today went above and beyond! Thank you for all of your help, it may have taken some time but well worth the wait! Updated for awesome customer service!!

Needs more flexibility. It would be helpful if, once you are managing a memorial, you could delete pictures added by others. There’s a picture on my mother’s memorial I’d like to delete, but I can’t because it was added by the initial memorial manager. Awkward. Many people just seem to collect thousands of memorials but don’t actually care or actively manage them.

Location of Gray’s Cemetery. I would like to share the location and findings of this cemetery. I found my great grandfather’s grave and headstone along with 3 other stones and graves. I want to post this on here with the pictures and the cemetery because you all don’t have it on here but I don’t know how to do it. Please help Barbara Smith

Claimed. This is a very nice app, my feedback is that it would be helpful if when somebody "claimed" a request, that the request no longer be viewable to other users. I have taken photos of claimed sites before because I didn't realize until the photo was taken and I was about to upload it.

Grand Ancestral Search Tool. I have used this tool well over a decade and it just gets better with time! I have located family Grave Sites around the globe and help added to family history! I strongly recommend its capabilities, professionalism and decorum!

What happens to all your entries and photos if you’re not active for a few years. I joined Find a Grave around 2006 and had a few hundred entries and photos from graves in south east MS and south west AL. I was not active for several years due to health issues but not that I want to get back into it, having had to change my password, it shows nothing that is attributed to me. How do I search for those names? Thank you for your help in this matter.

Wish ya could do more. I have found a ton of my family’s stuff but like none of the Alice family is mentioned, there are very vague details. It would be great if ppl are gonna put info in they at least put the right or more of the right stuff. Besides that’s it’s a neat sight/app :)

Family members. I love this Site ❤️ I have found more Family members than I Realized it’s Totally Awesome and a Big Thank You to all the Friends who have helped me Along the journey and are Still Supporting Me Through This Process. I hope to add Many more Family Pictures and hopefully How we all Connect, God Bless 🙏🙏

Thank you!. Thank you to the folks that set up this site. I moved away from the east coast and it’s comforting to have a page to “visit” my family. It’s been comforting to update their pages and make sure everyone is connected.

Amazing. Love this application that allows us to leave a Legacy for future generations. As volunteers trying to document those that have already passed I so wish we could get the cemetery to add deaths to the data base and when they install a marker to take a picture and upload it.

Fit for my screen. It has been fit for my small screen, because the last version was too big for it. ETA: The latest version has letters too big. Please make them smaller. Now it keeps giving server errors when WiFi is fine. It is not the Internet, so server error is a complete lie. Please tell me how to fix it. I have deleted and reinstalled and it doesn’t fix it. Restarted my device, and it is the same thing.

Messages with other users. On the web site one can exchange messages with other users. It’s awkward because there is one page for sent messages and another for received messages, so you have to bounce between screens to review a conversation. As someone who uses the iPad app more than their computer, it would be nice to have a messenger section in the app.

Thank you for your services. I appreciate all you do!. I’ve been using find a grave for a few years now. It’s literally my hobbie to find those old gravesites. Recently just connected a lot of the dots. And am very proud to connect my father to his Ancestors and mine. Means a great deal to me.

Great. I think this is a great app and I highly recommend this app. We all grieve in our own ways, and at our own pace….. I have lost way too many loved ones over the years, this app helps to bring closure, peace and comfort to such a difficult part of life.

MEMORIAL HORDERS RUN THE SHOW. Even if you know for a fact who is related to whom—even if one of the memorials on this crazy website/app is for your very own relative, you must get approval from crappy memorial horders to “link” memorials together. Most of these memorial horders (someone called KYRoots, especially) will decline every “suggested edit,” regardless. I’m deleting this app and can only hope that Find a Grave gets shut down by way of law suits someday soon. Graves are not there to represent people. Graves are like numbers on nutjob horders’ scorecards.

What was approved?. I wish the app showed pending edits we have submitted. And a list of approved or rejected edits and what those edits were. We may mistakenly suggest an edit that we later discover is wrong and it’s difficult to remember what memorials to go back to and suggest corrections with new supporting evidence. The app could help us by showing it on a tab for us. Thanks for considering.

Add a child. Another child of James Artemus Patterson, Sr. was James Artemus Patterson, Jr, b. 15 Aug 1843 in Augusta Co, VA; d. 27 Apr 1918, buried in Riverview Cem, Waynesboro, Augusta Co, VA. He served, as did his father & brother Samuel Newton Patterson in the 52nd Regiment VA Inf. He & Sam were in Co A, father served a short time in Co H. Enlisted w/ Sam 9 Jul 1861. Reenlisted 1 May 1862. WIA McDowell (arm) 8 May 1862, WIA 2 Manassas 29 Aug 1862, WIA Sharpsburg/Antietam 17 Sep 1862. Arm amputated. Appointed a doorkeeper at Confed Congress. Appointed Maj by Gen Breckinridge & detailed to recruit in the Shen. Valley. Served to the end of the war.

I tried!. We visited a cemetery today to fill requests. Not one of the 40 names was there. None! Same surnames in some cases, but the years were pretty far off on the very few that did match a name. This was in the First Baptist Church cemetery in Georgetown , Maine. So sorry... we really tried!

Needs improvement, otherwise good. The app has gone through updates since my last review, but text put in a memorial in the desktop version of the site (bio/grave condition) still doesn’t appear correctly on mobile (breaks between paragraphs don’t show up, etc). We still need the option to look at and add flowers from within the app. Other than that, it is a good app

Findagrave is a Godsend!. Findagrave is free and provides a useful service to family researchers. Without it, I would never have figured out where some of my ancestors got to. Volunteers who don’t mind looking for various graves are very helpful. I’ve started volunteering myself, to help others who may not be able to travel at this time.

Great. I think FindaGrave is fantastic. The app has allowed me to contribute thousands of photos to existing memorials. I absolutely love the update allowing the memorials be sorted in a number of ways. Using the app is great for quickly adding a memorial, on the spot, when exploring locations. The memorial is included instantly, ensuring the remembrance of loved ones for the people who cannot travel to the cemetery.

I found my grandmother. I had been looking for my grandmother for over 10 years when I discovered FindAGrave. The reason it had been so hard was that she got remarried after my grandfather. I searched using her birth year, first name, maiden name and my last name which was her’s when she was married to my grandfather. The very first try I found her in TN.

Unsecure app (hacked by a rep). Now Stalked by cyber predator. Ghoulish necromancy.. No remedy offered by FindAGrave. Volunteer-Admin communication leaves one wondering if they are methamphetamine addicts/human-organ trafficking gangsters. Memorial of my own father under my management was "transferred" out of my account by a volunteer-admin without notice. No explanation for my account being broken into. This and other memorial management issues with "Peaceful Wanderer" led to my current situation where now this necrofraudster cyber-predator thinks s/he has a cyber-relationship with me. Can't wait until this data-mining company gets put out of its misery.

Great. Other than the stupid pop up ads, this is a great site. I wish I knew how to add Cemetery notes though. I made a special trip out of state to view two cemeteries. They were located in a very remote area and the conditions had declined since the cemetery had been listed. It would also be very helpful to know cemeteries within a 5 or 10 mile radius

Memorial management. I like this site. However, I have tried to contact 2 people about transferring memorials to me and have not gotten a response. I have also tried emailing the support team last week but still nothing has happened. I think being associated with Ancestry you would have some kind of filter showing the current owners aren’t related to us. I wish the transfers were easier.

Great app, one minor change request. I have used this app and added GPS coordinates as well as memorials. It is truly a great app overall. My only request would be to allow the choice of which mapping app (specifically Google Maps) the Map It opens in. Otherwise, great app and very worth having!

Family history. This is a wonderful way to research ancestry, remember loved ones, help each other out. The support staff is great because they’re quick to answer any questions you may not locate in their FAQ section. I’m grateful this site and app exists.

Blessed. Blessed and so grateful thanks findagrave you have helped me with my family tree and with my ancestors Also i enjoy volunteering for findagrave on a daily basis its my journey and i help others finding their loved ones I get to walk in history that once was finding the lost the abandoned and the loved

Fix GPS Settings. The option to add GPS needs to be available with option to turn on or off at every step so that people can stand by the grave and update the location. The app should also just take the location data from the photo (at least iPhone records) and use that for GPS.

Very Informative. This sight has a massive amount of information, which has been very accurate and helpful in the search of family history. I am deeply appreciative of the amount of research taken to provide this website. Thank you very much!!!

Fantastic website !. I’ve used and contributed to this site for years. It just keeps getting better. My favorite part is being able to link families together.

Love. I love this app. I have managed to find or add my whole family. However, would it be possible to add a feature that would allow us to share/ transfer our virtual cemeteries with others?

Cemetataries. Some may think it morbid, but I find cemeteries peaceful, picturesque, and inspiring. Rolling hills of soft grassy knolls dotted with historical reminders of those who came before. Some of these markers display recognizable names of people who have achieved greatness and who are remembered. And some with names of the every day wives, husbands, and children who have lived and gone. Their existence left for us by the etched cement above their graves.
