7 Year Veteran - originally a 5 and now a 2. I have been playing for 7 years and considering discontinuing due to the increasing expense needed to play the game. The #1 trick they use to consume yourDiamonds is the cost to auto click and eliminate 100 plus moves. No big deal to not spend 5 diamonds sale on and click your self but by the time your in the Arctic phase you have to click 100s of time. even if you do pay it still makes you click 100 times because the auto clicks is too simple and does ask a few basic questions that would allow them to do more of the work for you. There seems to be also fewer player than in the past so there is less available trades. Another reason to finally call It a day. I think they have gotten 100s of dollars over 7 years most in the past year. I don’t mind spending some money but I would have expected logical improvements to like I described above in return for my funds. As one of your most loyal clients I am guessing I will not get a response or taken seriously but I am likely a conduit for many other original players who are thinking of bailing.

Played for 6yrs. The in game community is great. Playing was fun across multiple worlds. It takes a good year to actually get the game play going to a good pace that keeps you engaged. There are no real instructions and you will have to rely on other players-if friendly-to learn the general gameplay or strategies. The game play is extremely redundant and as you age up, the amounts paid out or receive just moved up a little. Nothing really changes. The events are repetitive-year after year. Recently, INNO changed a few of the payouts for diamonds, costs for utilizing diamonds and have flooded the different areas with selectable ads. While you can play without selecting the ads-it’s a bit of a nuisance and demonstrates a growing focus on generating money and not enhancing fluid gameplay. The diamond payout ratio has been lowered where you will have difficulty replenishing diamonds between events forcing you to consider spending real world dollars on game currency. They upgraded general expedition recently, lowering the diamond payouts and increasing what you need to complete it. Again, another subtle siphon ploy to reduce you levels and force you to lean more towards using real world currency. I’ll be leaving the game in the next week.

Not getting any help from support.. I messaged support for some help because there’s a glitch with the mass supply rushes not working for all of my supply buildings. They used to work just fine but now they only work on one out of my 4 buildings that only produce supplies. It’s very frustrating when your in an event and the things that are supposed to help you with the event don’t and then it’s worse when the people you send a message to refuse to even admit there’s an issue. They instead choose to talk to you like your stupid or lying. I don’t understand what the issue is myself there is a glitch, saying thank you for making us aware of the issue, we will work on fixing it sorry for any inconvenience or unnecessary frustration it has caused. Thank you for your patience while we fix the problem so you can keep enjoying the game. I don’t think saying something like that is to much to ask of anybody. And in my opinion is far more professional then avoiding the glitch and acting like I’m lying about it or that I don’t know what I’m talking about. What could I possibly gain from lying about a glitch and if I wasn’t 100% sure about something I would ask a question not complain.

Recent updates have ruined aspects of the game. Guild battle grounds is quite literally one of the best features of this game. Once it was introduced it change the game completely and while over almost 3 yrs there have been a lot of ups and downs with how inno is changing GBG the most disappointing is the latest update. The new target and stop signs have ruined something that wasnt broken in the least. Now the flags are covered by this ungodly large hand and you cant see a competitor hitting. With the opd flag you could see flashes easily letting them get a head start on a sector without notice. Also this update and the last have made aspects of the game that used to run smoothly just janky and frustrating. Buying buildings in GBG now you get lag and get scrolled back to top of the list making you accidentally waste goods on somety you didnt want to buy. In a race this is going to slow things down taking 10sec to build camps can literally lose a race for you. The previous update buying fp with coin and medals in GE was ruined. Used to be able to click click click fast and be done. Now there is lag in between purchases. Seem the new changes inno are making are doing nothing but destroying a game that was fine the way it was. Some aspects dont need to be fiddled with...plain and simple

Frustrating on mobile. I like games of patience. This one is promising but when I started, my story quests were hindered by an internal error and by the time support fixed it, I was way ahead of the story quests and would have to do them after I already did them, which wastes time and resources. My name and profile seems to be that of an old man. I asked them to change it because I couldn't (it's the first quest) due to the internal error. It wasn't fixed. **update** I'm not stuck on the first quest. I'm stuck on the other quests because by the time the first quest was fixed, I was way ahead and have to basically redo everything I've already done. Like... Build 3 Stilt Houses. Why would I build 3 stilt houses when my population lives in tile roof houses and chalets? I lack the space and my population can't go down as they are all being used for production. Waste of time and resources. Makes it frustrating. I am, however, stuck in progressing in research because of a bug. I've researched and unlocked militia, but the game is saying I need to research it to progress. It also didn't give me the soldier barracks that came with completing the block. That's a serious bug or glitch. I did contact support. We'll see if they are any help.

Use to be fun but lost its way. I started playing this game very early on (before great buildings) what drew me to it was the city building and the strategic fighting, and history aspect. It’s not designed to be a fast game but one that takes months and years. It’s also nicely balanced in that it’s not pay to win just pay to decrease time taken, because you can invest time into diamond farms and never need to buy any but still generate a continual substantial supply. The Game use to have a whole deeper layer in that their were multiple ways to play and be successful. However inno has since lost their way. Now every city is just a attack boosting city and all you do is just auto fight. GBG is just a tile swapping snooze fest. There is very little left in the game that has the initial spark of greatness. I hope the developers wake up and fix this because I love aspects of the game so much and it’s just had too much power creep, and trying to be like other fighting city builder games and lost its unique ness in regards to trying to maximize the put of your city and still balance goods FP and units and boosts. The developer always talks about wanting to listen to the community but they have not actually addressed issues held by majority of players that were brought up years ago in their own forums.

Great new updates!. I love what they have done with the recent update. The z’s for buildings not in the process of production are now stationary making them much easier to see. I am a huge fan of the daily quests. Side quests and event quests have been greatly improved, causing me to play more frequently. Overall, I love this game. I have been playing for a few years now and have seen some ups and downs. I am looking forward to the new ages to come. The only thing I would like to see improved is will you PLEASE fix the fact that the app now asks me to sign in through Facebook every single time, even if I was just using it. It redirects me through the Facebook app and I have to click continue, okay, I accept, go, blah blah blah every time just to get to my city. It’s kind of annoying and makes it hard for me to quickly pick up productions or something while I’m not really actively playing at the moment. I find myself checking in less and less because of this added time for log in. Otherwise, great app. I would recommend it, just don’t ever click the log in through Facebook button or you are doomed to navigate through the outside app every time you log in.

latest update is a big step back. Have been playing this game for some 6 years — very engrossed, help run my guild, etc. Have always thought they did a fantastic job of balancing many things — complexity and approachability, opportunity to buy game currency and to earn it in game, adding new features and events to prevent player boredom while making most optional, etc. Really the champion of building games. But as of this Anniversary Event, suddenly there are watch-a-video gates in front of tons of things, from convenience shortcuts to extra city buffs, to even “incidents” that are small loot bags you find lying around in the woods. It’s a huge bummer! Any time I watch a video ad in any app, it makes me want to log off, and here’s one where I probably play a couple hours per day (!) putting them everywhere! I’ve donated money to support the game, and I’d happily pay something annually to keep it running, if that’s really the issue; this is one of the few things they could have done that might actually drive me away from the game.

Change isn’t always good. I’ve been playing FoE for 7 years now. I used to LOVE this game but in the last year INNO seems to be more focused on making this a rich persons game. They rarely do diamond discounts anymore, quest rewards during events are getting minuscule so if you want to get event buildings you need to use diamonds, GE only gives you diamonds during a blue moon and the kicker…GBG diamonds increased 40% but even though they said diamonds would not show up as much but given the increase we’d still collect the same amount of diamonds they grievously exaggerated!!! If you do 500 battles you can count yourself lucky to get diamonds twice at best. As if these changes and the plethora of ads weren’t enough to put a sour taste in your mouth INNO did an upgrade to their servers 6 months ago or so. Sure! Then why is there a MAJOR lag within 5 minutes of the push for GBG that never used to happen before their upgrade?! I do love this game but at this point I play more for the connection of friends I’ve made in FoE. I’m hoping that some day INNO will start listening to people’s concerns rather than just pushing out changes regardless of what people say about them in beta 😢

Great game. I have been playing this game for over 2 years and I really enjoy the game. I was surprised by some of the other reviews/comments. Yes, there are optional in-app purchases, but that makes sense because the developer needs to stay in business. Of all the games I have played, the in-app purchases in this game are some of the least offensive I have ever seen (no annoying ads, etc.). I only use the in-app purchases when I want to give back to the developers, and spending money is definitely not necessary to be successful in the game. Also, this is a strategy game, and aspects of the game are challenging, which is why I am still playing. You won’t be able to ‘beat’ this game in a day or a week. To be successful in the game requires players to develop a strategy. If you are running into a challenge within the game, and what your doing is not successful, you might just need to change strategies. A little bit of thinking and planning is necessary. This is not a game I turn my brain off to play. Also, being part of a good guild really makes a difference. Supportive players in a guild help each other get the resources/blueprints they need.

Was Fun At First. Unfortunately, this game is designed to force you to spend real money to succeed. Mind you, on almost every game I play that has a store, I drop money because I love supporting the devs. But to me there is a difference between choosing to support at my own pace and being halted in all progress unless I pay to continue. In this case, I am at a complete standstill unless I drop cash to buy supplies. I have to weave cloth to proceed with research to get a better army. But ... catch 22 ... I need a better army to defend my cloth. It takes 2 days to make the cloth I need and before that 2 days is up that is the one resource that keeps getting plundered. This is because others can tell where your research tree is at and what you are working on and successfully block you from proceeding by pillaging your most needed resource. So, even after dropping a couple of hundred bucks into this game, I am calling it quits because even that amount of cash wasn’t enough to let me slide in and just enjoy building a city. Kind of hard to defend your resources when you need those resources to create what you need to defend them. The research tree is designed for only veteran players to make sure newer players never make it past the early Middle Ages. Back to Elvenar for me, I suppose.

Don’t Play This Game. Just don’t bother getting into it. I don’t want to stop playing because I enjoy getting through all the Ages and I’ve gotten really far....... but it’s an endless frustration. It’s so pay-to-win it’s painful. I can’t afford diamonds, so if they’re needed, I wait until I win them. The community does not respect this play style at all. I was kicked out of a guild (that claimed to be “just for fun, no requirements”) because I didn’t finish more than one level of GE every week. If you invest time and forge points into a Great Building, people sitting on thousands of FPs will swoop in and steal the top spots after you’ve chipped away at it for weeks. While these are player related problems, the bottom line is - other players who spend real world cash WILL take issue with or advantage of players who don’t. I’m far in the game and have a lot of expendable resources, but it’s not possible to advance in the community without diamonds. I’ll continue to play just because I like seeing the Ages progress over time. This is just the nature of the game, so this isn’t really me saying “change the game,” but don’t get into this game (if you want to advance in the rankings) unless you’re willing to drop some serious real world cash. Otherwise, you won’t compete with the many players who do, and it just isn’t a fun experience. So save yourself the trouble and find a different game to play.

Not a city building game.. This is a war strategy game, not a city building game. I’ve been playing for over 500 days, have reached the postmodern level and haven’t spent a penny. Although I have enjoyed the game until now, I can say that I think I’m near the end. The problem is the Great Buildings. So many other players, the majority it seems, acquire something called The Arc along with other battle level increasing structures. Then they spend their time plundering you. They have no population. No manufacturing. Just theft and robbery. How do you defeat someone who has a 900% boost in battle. You’re left the bug on their windshield with no recourse. Even a city shield is futile . You can’t acquire more land as all land is controlled by battle or real cash. You can’t barter anymore because all your manufacturing is plundered. The special games the developers run like football are really fun. But the rest of it has stopped being fun because of the blatant theft. This is a great game if you are, or want to teach your kid, to be a bully.

Free to download, not free to play. I have played this game a month or so and I always wait a bit to write a review. I was forced to write this review because this game ai has decided I needed to write something great about this game or give feedback. So to be transparent, this is what I submitted in my ticket to support.// This game is not free to play, maybe free to download but definitely not free to play. This game has many trips and falls all designed to get you to purchase diamonds in order to advance (let’s be realistic, its pay to play). This is not a strategy game, this is a build game of which I now feel hostage to do bi-daily maintenance on in order to not be plundered by much bigger opponents. Also, I cannot even do or complete daily events without being forced to use diamonds. I also cannot battle without using diamonds to replenish troops loses, unless I prefer to wait a tremendous amount of time to so-called play for free. I honestly believe this game is boring! I have played many mobile games through the years and this is the worst game I have played. I don’t see mayself playing this game much longer. Also, do I really need to have 10 plus accounts just to play 1 solid account and be able to advance in this game? I don’t think I do.

Huge Disappointment/Poorly Designed. If you believe in playing a game that is fun, fair and enjoyable, skip this game! I started playing this game 18 months ago, only to discover some major design flaws. This game requires you to obtain blueprints towards gaining a Great Building, which provides you with different benefits. You are required to obtain 9 blueprints to build a Great Building. Often, you will get to a point where you are down to 8 of those blueprints and then start gaining multiples of the same one, where at that point you can choose to trade those multiples towards a “random chance” to obtain the one you are missing...Only problem is, the “random blueprint selector” feature rarely gives you the actual blueprint you need to finish the set of 9 required. So you end up spending days, weeks, even months of effort in saving up Forge Points to put down towards more blueprints, only to be held back over and over again by the “random blueprint trade” selection process! This “random” process really really takes a huge effort to get by, and just really makes it frustrating to say the least. Eventually you realize it’s no longer any fun to play a game that relies upon a “random selection” process. Progress is obstructed over and over...then the fun is gone...all that’s left is frustration because it inevitably just begins to feel like an entirely futile process altogether....is that really fun? Make a better choice, I wished now I had! What a waste of time!!!!

In-Game Expansion Costs Real Money. I like games that allow me to construct kingdoms and civilizations, so I thought this game would be fun. It started out pretty fun, and my empire advanced in technology relatively quickly. However, you get to a point relatively soon (the Bronze Age, I believe) where the only way to expand buildable space is to purchase diamonds (with real money) which you then use buy land to expand on. There are very limited expansions you can use the in-game currency to purchase, even though building in-game currency happens quickly. And victory and research progress provides very little land expansion. Which brings me to a second issue that ties into the land expansion problem. In order to progress through time, you have to conduct research. This involves a combination of spending points that automatically accrue, production, and in-game coin. One concept to developing new research requires a number of different productions (e.g. dye and masonry). The problem is you don’t have enough land to construct these buildings to produce the goods you need to advance the research. And you also need available population, which can only be expanded by building more residences on land that you don’t have. See where I’m going with this? The game is ok at best, unless you have real money you want to sink into it. As a passive Smartphone gamer, it is very rare that I spend any real money on a game. And when I do it is only $0.99. I plan to delete the game.

Basic Game is Great, Battlegrounds Ruined It. The basic game is fun, strategic, addictive. But the developers added an element called Battlegrounds which gives rewards and player ranking points for fighting or negotiating. It is a map of tiles that reset every 4 hours and each session runs for 10 days with 3 days off in between. Every session the 2 strongest guilds of the 8 dominate the map and “porch” the other 6 so they don’t get to play, get rewards or points. It is a poorly designed part of the game that the top 5% get to play and gain from. It has ruined the game. Lots of complaints about it. Many, including myself play less or quit playing because of Battlegrounds. It is not a level playing field, frustrating and ruining the game. Brings out the rude and nasty side of people. Too bad. This was a great game that was competitive, fun and I used to recommend. There are many glitches in the game that cause it to shut down when you try to fight. Inno is very slow to fix problems or communicate regarding them. One server, Vingrid, has been barely playable for over a week with no communication and no fix. Guess the developers are too busy working on even more money grabs and gimmicks

Decent. FOE is a great builder style game. It has enough group activities and events to keep you interested for years. There are only two problems with the game that prevent it from being a 5 star app. 1st is the 24hr world timer on your daily resource collection. The timer makes you wait 24hrs from the time you collect to respawn those resources. For example if you are playing on your phone and want to collect your daily resources during your lunch break but someone tries to chat you up for 5 minutes you have then lost those 5 minutes because you must wait at least 24hrs to collect again. And well if this happens again and again you can see how eventually you will lose entire days worth of resource collection. Other games I have played used 20 or 23hr world timers to give players more freedom but as FOE is roughly 4yrs old at the time of writing this they clearly intend to stick with this format. 2nd as you can trade resources across the “Ages” it means you can obtain the best buildings (great buildings) at any point in the game provided you are able to farm enough expansion tiles to place them. This leaves players little incentive to move up to next age. Indeed it actually makes many features of the game harder. Which is really a shame because the art and the work in general that they put into these ages is kinda amazing.

Don’t play if you use mobile device. First of all, this game is past its prime. Other games have more graphics and better game play. Even long time users are dropping out at an alarming rate. It used to be about offering a great game but now it’s all about how much money they can get from you. Originally, it was advertised as a game where you could farm or fight. That’s no longer true. You must fight or have everything stolen from you. And the fighting isn’t fair because attack (red swords and shields) are used against city defense (blue swords and shields) and you can never get enough blue to protect yourself. What’s fair about that? Mobile users beware - you will not get the same game as PC users. A major part of the game, GVG, is not on the mobile platform. Also, mobile players are forced to watch ads for the same rewards that PC players get for free. You can’t get the reward without watching the ad (unless you pay for a monthly subscription, of course) when ads are not available- a common occurrence. Many longtime players use bots to gain huge advantages but Inno does little to nothing to stop them. Suggestions for improvements are ignored and bug reports come back with the same message EVERY TIME - delete the game and reinstall. Of course, it doesn’t fix their coding errors and then you get a message that this is a known error after you’ve messed up your settings by deleting the app. Pass on this game. It’s not worth your time.

Unfair PVP. I did a review in game but just in case it doesn’t show up, avoid this game unless you like being ripped off. Player vs Player has ruined the game. Every time you get ahead a little another player takes your goods. If you have a lot of money you can BUY your way through the game or if you’re a thief you can take what you want. In my mind, the developers and thieves should be arrested in the real world. I spent REAL MONEY to get these goods and to progress in the game and they were taken from me by someone with a city and army so big that only a few players could defend themselves against. Before anyone thinks I’m a whiner, don’t worry I left and deleted my cities. Update: I deleted the city that was being attacked daily and I’m trying one more time. I like this game but this is FOE’s last chance with me. If it doesn’t get better I will leave for good. I don’t mind attacks if they are FAIR!! Higher level players should only be allowed to attack other players at the same level. Otherwise it’s robbery. INNO you said you hoped I would come back. Ok..here I am. We shall see if you truly want a fair game or not. Make PVP fair or you will lose more players than just me. Read your reviews. I’m not the only one who feels this way and I’m NOT going to BUY my way to the top.

Review of greatest game in the Gigiverse. Forge of empires is VERY fun, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money in order to get good! (Although you can.) You create a city, town, village, empire, city-state, or whatever you want to call it, and you can create your looks, or profile picture. You can design your town - but don’t worry, there are still challenges. You can take over other empires and kingdoms, even plunder, or steal supplies, and other stuff you need from them. You can create an army, go on quests, and do all of that as you go through the ages. Forge of Empires taught me all about the ages and eras, which helped me a lot in school, getting me better grades in social studies. If you don’t like educational games - well, it doesn’t directly teach you, you just find out on your own. This game has many qualities that help you in life, and is very fun while it doesn’t directly teach you those qualities. However, it would be almost impossible to miss them. This game is by far my favorite game, and you can also create your own guild - for free! Anyone who doesn’t play is definitely missing out.

Simply great. This game is hella fun. A lot of things you can do, whether trading goods, fighting battles, building buildings or, my favorite, rearranging your city. It must have economics lessons in it due to the various currencies in the game - diamonds, coins, supplies, goods, silver, etc. Diamonds are purchasable with real money; they can accelerate the game but you can also play quite well without them. This game counsels patience as you have to wait 24 hours to collect payouts from the best buildings (“Great Buildings”). It rewards you for helping other players, and they in turn help you and are rewarded. The periodic events are usually fun and always cost too much, whether that’s too much of your own currencies (see above) or diamonds. Small quibble, but note it can be addictive and, as I believe most of these games are, it is designed to be so. Overall, this game is extremely well-realized and has a devoted fan base. It’s a garden that if you tend daily will provide you a harvest of fun. Start your journey in the Stone Age today …

Too complex and time consuming. Was having fun, enjoying the game until about two weeks in. I kept having this little robber icon pop up every time I was trying to collect enough supplies to add more buildings. It’s been 4 days and I’ve not gotten enough to do what I want to do. Went to the forums and found out that the robber icon is other players PLUNDERING MY SUPPLIES. Tried to figure out how to just play on my own with no interaction with other players and all I could find was rude people basically saying “stop whining.” “How hard is it to collect on time?” When you have a life where you have to work and take care of others? Pretty dang hard actually. I’m not looking for something this complex and confusing. If someone chooses NOT to join a guild, that means their level of game play is going to be low and letting other people steal their resources is not going to make them want to play more. It’s going to make them angry and delete the game. Like I just did. I am so tired of these games that do crap like this to try to get you ‘motivated’ to play more or spend money to get to a higher level, where it won’t effect you as much, faster. I’m trying to relax and unwind. Not spend hours looking through forums and the help section just to find out there’s no help for it. I don’t want to interact with other players. Why isn’t their an option to just play by yourself at your own pace? I love the basic idea of the game. Wish there was a version for single player though.

Better reconstruction mechanics required. Adore the game I probably log on about 4 times a day, loving the saint patties days event, it’s really helping me move up quickly in the game!! wich I love I’ve had the game for like 4 days and I’m already on the Iron Age! not certain if that’s fast or not. I just thought it would’ve taken longer but I’m pleased to say it didn’t. but to the point of the review, I gave the game 3 stars in hopes it would catch an eye of a developer. Obviously, the way your empire is arranged is very important to the game I learned that day one. But to move buildings around to try to change your empire for the better it takes a significant amount of space, a feature to where you can move all your buildings into your inventory and start from scratch on your empire would really help the player move buildings to where I want them to be an overall redesign his or her empire for the better! And I’m my own opinion make the game 5 stars worth of fun! If this gets a response from a developer not only will it prove that y’all listen to players but I will change my rating :)

Disappointed. This seemed like a cool game going threw the different ages I reached the Iron Age and realized creators are way too money hungry everything at some point costs diamonds I needed land to place things it costs 200 diamonds each for the first two which I felt was a little too much but I gave it the benefit of he doubt! I have to admit I spend money on this game but it didn’t last long at all. When I reached Iron Age I got two more slots available using diamonds and only one as free. I thought okay the first two were 200 diamonds each I’ll just purchase 400 diamonds and I’ll get these two nope I was wrong they charged 400 diamonds for one expansion. I’m going back to my other games because I wasted money time and patients on this game and I truely regret it. I have spent money in a games but if the Iron Age is 400 diamonds for one slot next Age is 800 diamonds and so on and so forth. You can’t really get a head without spending real money. I down right hate creators that purposely abuse their creation that could be cool but isn’t because they prefer making money but exploiting people just so people get a head in a game! I feel for it once but not anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would! I’m a person who doesn’t mind a few dollars here or there but I refuse to waste anymore time money or patients on creators and game who take advantage of people to this extreme.

I don’t know about this game.... I’m not trying to judge I just started playing this game but I think it’s expensive and it’s kind of boring to me and what can you even do you might say yea it’s just a noob but seriously after the tutorial what can you do produce stuff and that’s it I was lost but I have been reading the other reviews and haven’t even Contributed ever but I believe in the reviews and it says you need fixed the game and then we can everything expensive because it is why would you need an expansion for 200 diamonds also I don’t like how I need to Tutorial. They waste your diamonds for you I think you should have a choice because if you’re going to make everything so expensive with diamonds why should you spend 100 for ya And as this and as he said diamonds are very important so you just want people to pay for more some some people don’t want to waste money on a game so I think you should waste the money for them not money not even many diamonds but the damage in the game I like money but as I was saying I don’t know about the game because well it’s expensive it’s kind of boring and what can you do just Produce things I don’t mean maybe you should give it more than just one little tweak

Forge of Empires. Game is boring. It’s basically a point/click/waiting game. And you do a lot of waiting to the point where you ask yourself “Am I even playing a game?” There’s no daily freebie for logging in to play. Scenery, landscapes, color in the game are dull. They do have what they call “incidents”, which are but randomly throughout the game, but you have to look everywhere, and look hard because they blend in too much with the rest of the scenery. What gets me most is you can’t expand your territory, and when you can’t expand you can’t put up buildings, and when you can’t put up buildings you can’t build, almost like you’re stuck in a corner. Then there are the challenges. You can’t fulfill them because you don’t have the buildings to build, and the reason you don’t have the buildings to build is because you don’t have the ability to expand your territory. These challenges should only be at the level you’re at, or with the resources you currently have to fulfill them. So again you’re in a corner and you can’t do anything. And the production buildings. Come on! I can only make one product at a time and it takes way too long. If the programmers are reading this “How do you earn diamonds and medals to expand your territory?”

Welp. Well, it was a good game. I played up until the colonial age and i built the SoZ (people who play the game will know what I’m talking about) but i had just built that i also had the CdM, LoA, ToB, and the colosseum but right after i built the SoZ i got off the game and I tried to get on it a few hours later and the game refused to log me in. Like it just wouldn’t let me. I tried restarting the internet to see if that was the problem, nope, found out it needed an update. So I updated it like usual thinking that was the problem but it still wouldn’t work. So I tried changing the country i was in to see if that did anything, it made me login with my apple id but then none of the worlds i had (i had 2) showed up. And it’s a real bummer because i was doing really good also, getting 30 FPs every day, was in a really great guild and i had a group chat with all the friends i have on there and it was really helpful because everyone helped one another it seemed like people had everything you needed to make a GB. But the game crashed or something, I probably will play it again but not for a real long time. Edit: like a day after i made this review the game fixed its self soo yeah good game 👌

Not very fun to play. I keep looking for a good city building game, something fun like The Simpsons: Tapped Out and I was hoping this was it. But it’s not. My main issues are that when you are just starting the game people who have been playing for years and are way ahead of you are still allowed to attack you and plunder your city. This should only be available for people at the same level as you otherwise there is nothing you can do about it. Your army is never going to beat theirs. You also get so little in terms of land that you have to keep deleting buildings so you can build something else when you need certain goods. And the goods buildings produce so little in such a long time that you spend days and days trying to get enough to do anything. I get that this is a long play game but it’s too long for me. Just not enough to do to keep me interested. Update in response to developer: 1. Plundering would be fine if in the game it tells you about it, however, you only find out once someone does it and then you have to google what happened. 2. Even after googling Neighborhoods it is still unclear what these are, how to determine which one you are in or what the purpose is. 3. The game also doesn’t teach you about city defense, had to google that too. Too much stuff you have to google which is what makes it not fun. I never have to google how to do anything in Tapped Out, a far superior game. If you’re looking for a true city building game this is not it.

Quit whining and just play the game. Thanks to everyone who’s taken the time to share feedback(good and bad), if you don’t have legitimate complaints your not helping anyone by making negative comments with no details. Every game/ software is going to have some bugs/clitches especially if your constantly running different events and evolving the game to keep it from getting boring. The developers have done an excellent job with this game and the support team is more than happy to help but you have to let them know if your having problems as they most likely do not have a crystal ball. Notifying them by shredding the game in the reviews is a testament to one’s own character, most likely individuals who sit on the couch and expect the world around them to be perfect. And for the ads, you don’t have to watch them but this is likely how FOE is generating some revenue to keep the game free while employing a team of developers and support staff. Don’t be so narrow minded and keep your expectations reasonable. And no I don’t work for FOE, I’m just another player. FOE on!

Support that doesn’t. Recently had an issue with using a program that (as advertised) helps with some of the data collection for this game. Nowhere in any forums is it suggested that there are illegal programs that are banned by FOE. No list exists. Just a very vague reference to bots. After notification from FOE, I tried to ascertain where I was being illegal, mind you there was no clarification from the powers that be, that X, Y or Z or illegal. So finally figure it out, they say great and we carry on. 14 days later they tell me I’m still illegal. I go through the process of cleaning my drive and slicing the cache, no success. They put my game in time out. Finally after a few days they suggest I check extensions. Bingo, clear them and FOE will not lift ban. I did everything they requested in a timely manner, this was a first offense. Do not play this game. The Powers on the other side of a screen or unapologetic about not wishing to help a player.

Too pushy in the tutorial phase. First of all, let me say, the art is gorgeous. However, the interfaces cheapen the beautiful art & make it feel cheap and cheesy like standing in a fluorescent tube lit blue collar grocery store check out line among the screaming yellow candy wrappers & celebrity gossip rags. Maybe both of these things make a certain kind of person feel safe & reassured. Maybe the cartoonish childishness of the buttons is intended to make people feel calm & playful. But it felt condescending to me - and the mandatory tutorial forces you to walk through, pushing exactly the button it demands when it demands and placing pieces exactly where it says, with no options to even turn or move them, underscores that patronization. A game with graphics this beautiful & refined really should have a little more faith in its players & allow for curiosity, experimentation early on. If looks like college, but treats you like preschool, and the chunky interface is stuck in 5th grade. Not good cohesion between its various elements. But I personally am tired of idle clickers and that’s ultimately what this is, given the constraints on “the right way to do something”, disguised as a strategy game. If it’s always the same sequence of steps & positions to win, that’s not much of a strategy, is it? It’s just a process. And given that there’s no tangible reward, it is really just consuming our most precious resource - the time - without giving anything back.

Entertaining. Pros: There is quite a bit of variety in the game. Fun challenges and good people who interact respectfully and with a sense of camaraderie. The people make the game. There are in game purchase that do not seem worth the cost except when there is a 200% discount on the currency of diamonds. However, the further you progress in the game, diamonds, diamonds become easier to procure without $$$. Cons: First, the in game purchase are too expensive. Second, support is severely lacking. I have run into the “Nick Burns” (SNL) types that are rigid and unhelpful. Others simply do not know how to be thorough in explanation for what occurs in the game. Lastly, the special events come way to frequently and are time suckage to participate. You don’t have to participate, but game progression will be very slow. Also, diamonds are required to get the most out of some events. Summary: A pretty fun game that continually evolves. I enjoy building cities an competing in events. It is not a game full of action, but strategy and patience. I love the guild interaction. Most people are great, kind, and helpful. I recommend.

Boomer Game!. I had to take a minute to put in a review of this game for fellow Boomers! This strategy game has held my interest for half a year, so far. It is not a fast moving battle game, it is empire building but much more. Within the basic building game, there are mini-games popping up every few weeks and a new Expedition every week. These mini-games are fun and give cool prizes as you progress. This game is what you make it. You can go many different directions. For instance, I am focusing on the military and build it up as I research. You could focus on trade or commerce or PvP games if you wish as it has a wide reaching format. The reason it is ideal for us Ancients is that it moves slowly and logically. You won’t finish playing in a frenzied sweat. There are also plenty of on-line walkthroughs available depending on your interests. As for In-game purchases, I have probably spent around $80 or so to move my research along, but you are not required to spend a penny. It is hard to hold my interest in games, as much as I love them, but this one is a keeper!

What’s this “fight tactical battles” picture? & antiques dealer repeating junk?. Am I missing this part of the game that on my city there could be a battle on the edges as though I’m defending my city? I have seen many other games doing this to a huge degree but does that make it even slightly reasonable or okay? Well I guess we all have to decide the line of being and speaking lies. Lol One more thing: Why so much repetition in the antiques dealer? There are thousands of possible items end yet never an event upgrade for any main event buildings. But there is a menagerie of the day... it’s a good place to showcase the awesome stuff that can be gained in game play- create want in newer players and greed in Kings of Empires. Or repeat the same stuff we are currently selling and bore the lot. For an app I play then any other ever I would put 5 stars for holding my attention and making a game enjoyable. Not to mention beautiful. There are times the great ideas that created UI and UX are an amazing spectacle and when that’s the case(like FOE) please stick the top with simple decisions. Basically keep your finger prints off my faberge eggs! Happy forging!

The update is suppressing the game. I used to have forge of empires awhile ago, and it really was fun back then due to pvp including everyone. Nowadays you have to research for a whole week just to unlock that feature. Why is pvp important? It’s helpful In getting resources faster and to expand the map giving you more stuff to do to expand your empire. Since I’m still in the Iron Age starting over again, I cannot attack players since most of them have not unlocked pvp yet. It is frustrating because upon visiting their city, I saw clear signs that the player opened the game and then left permanently. Attacking lower levels is unfair to active players, but most of them aren’t ever going to be active anyways. It is robbing the challenge and activity of the players that are actually playing and active. This decision is not only a huge mistake, but it also makes new players wanting to leave immediately due to being able not to do anything. I know you updated the game to make sure more people are satisfied of staying in the game, but you are actually doing the exact opposite. Unless this is fixed soon, a lot of new players will quit altogether, including me.

Frustrating more than fun. I really thought this would be a fun game. At first it is, but quickly turns to frustration. You never have enough room for things you need, and buildings don’t turn to better arrange. Their excuse for that is that it makes it more of a puzzle and that they would have to do too much work to make them turn. Everything starts to take so much to upgrade that you get stuck waiting for resources way too early on, and people do not offer fair trades at all. I finally drew the line at a requirement of many diamonds (200 I think), which you would have to buy, to do the next building upgrade. Some things that would make it better are actually upgrading buildings instead of selling and rebuilding every time, and an adjustment of how much is needed versus how much is offered in the game. This isn’t a game you can continuously play, you have to put it down-seems counter intuitive to me if you are trying to make a hit game... Also, last note, the fighting is fun but it take 2 hours to ‘recruit’ new fighters, and can only do one at a time for each type, so takes a day to build enough troops! One fight a day is no fun! I hope they put more work in and recalibrate, the idea is fun, just too frustrating.

Another greedy game. At first I thought it was going to be a decent game, started off with good game mechanics, then as I leveled up it didn’t take me long to discover that the have designed the game to require the heavy use of real money via in app purchases, to be able to continue playing. They limit your growth without money paid, the limit your leveling without money spent, and they limit your quest ability without spending money. At first I even fell pray and thought of if I spend a little money, then I could get over the money hump and continue on with my game. But then I quickly found out that every little aspect required in app purchases, that at no level, no quest and no point can you continue in the game with out constant money purchases. There one early on research that specifically calls for in game currency purchases with real money, just to advance to another age. I know apps that are free have some in app purchases to speed things up, that help pay for development, but this game goes beyond having them for convenience, to making the purchase a mandatory requirement to continue playing. They have an event history list, that allows higher level players to have a permanent way to attack you daily and ruin the gameplay! Update: in response to developer: highly unlikely as there are many things in the tree for diamonds, and I have yet to see any diamonds for fee in the game!

Fps threads. FP and threads more specifically 1.9 threads. In specific these threads well getting real tired of the hall monitors, snipers, and overlords. At least that is what I call them. I always try to hit the 1.9 ( not that it is a hard fast rule that I can find). Start with the snipers (although I’ve been falsely accused). Put 1-2 FP on everything never make any real contribution ( bad for other players who have to wait till enough people jump on, and knock the snipe off the goodie list. The Hall monitors, classic “ rules say you owe me 2 fps to be at 1.9. That’s it your gone” Never mind you went over by a point or two on your last two or three posts ( just your ignorance). These folks well good riddance. Overlords, these folks I just don’t understand. Just burned again. Been swapping fps with this player for several weeks. Just us two on the building. I place (1.9 thread) exact amount of fps and take the top slot. Overlord places 20 over 1.9 thread takes top slot. I loose 255 fps they loose 20 fps on the over-post. It’s a winner for the player everyone else looses. Fps are the key part of the game. Not well designed, my opinion. Probably the reason I leave, tired of the nasty grams for things I’ve not done wrong.

All players beware, inno doesn’t care about helping you. I have played this game for over two years and found it to be very entertaining, until recently my ritual flames were glitching and covering up other buildings. I decided to delete them all to make space for more valuable buildings. I went to delete one that was covering my level 68 arc, and since I clicked on the ritual flame graphic I assumed I was on the flame so checked the box and deleted my arc instead. All inno would do was give me a set of blue prints and the goods to rebuild it, even though their glitched caused this to happen, and cost me 58 sets up prints, thousands of fps, and countless hours spent leveling it. All I asked was for inno to make me whole by giving the 58 sets of prints back and the forge points to make my arc level 68 again because this was caused by their software, and all they cared about was themselves and not their customer. So all beware that if you need support or help from inno, they won’t give it unless it is convenient for them, players happiness be damned.

Pay a lot. This game has great graphics. It has a lot of potential and it’s great when you’re starting out. But when you hit bronze age or so, (level 3 or 4?) you begin finding that you don’t have the resources to research new skills. Although you may be able to trade for resources the barter rate is *1* resource that you want for 10 resources that you pay/build/create —> it takes four hours to create one resource and when you need 40 to advance it’s just not feasible. I’ve been trying to create / barter / obtain resources to research *one* skill for over two weeks and I’m still nowhere close. Of course you can purchase in-app resources for $4.99 but but you need to make two or three of these purchases and this is only one research topic. There are events you can participate in but cannot complete because you don’t have resources. If you like making in-app purchases two or three times per day and then three to five days a week this is the app for you. If you don’t mind waiting two days to play the game for your resources to build up -And then logging in to click on the next-two day build and then waiting for two days again and again and again -then this is a game for you, but you’re not really playing at that point you’re logging in every two days to click a button and then waiting another two days.

Fun for hardcore strategy players. I played this game twice once a few years ago and the other I started 6 months ago. I have to say the modern incarnation of the game is amazing and the older version bot ad much. The problem with game is that it is meant for higher leveled and more hardcore strategy game players. This means that most players that find the game bad is because it is to complicated. This is not to say that not investing every time and moment means it is not fun but looking for helpful guilds will allow you to learn all the game mechanics and advice. When I started playing the game I hopped around different guilds and until I found an active one that was not only helpful but required little to nothing to be part of. To this day I’m still in this guild and even though I’m in the top percentile of my server I still find the game not that taxing in time requirements. In fact I find myself playing the game to much which I have to say if played enough the game becomes very addictive. Overall this game is fair, rewards you, and I have yet to spend a SINGLE dollar playing it.

Worth the effort and it takes some effort. This game seems rather boring at first and is often hard to understand what is expected. Some information is available on the forums but to a newbie that can all be Greek! Once available find a good supportive guild! That is the most important thing. They should help you with your forge points, great buildings and answer questions. There is much more to this game than meets the eye so be patient! I also enjoy being able to have 2 or later 3 worlds and towns. Also visit other players towns often and see what they are doing. This will give you insight and you can ask your guild members questions about what you see. Great game but I will say that in order to progress you will need to purchase diamonds occasionally. I figure it is pretty cheap entertainment. Use the diamonds for play and don’t spend them unless you really consider the importance of your purchase. Then they are a good investment. Have fun!

HORRIBLE SUPPORT. The game is a ton of fun while you can play it. I got banned because they claimed my kids were feeding me and avoiding the rest of the game. I have 5 kids who can verify different; we made in game trades for goods, blueprints, and forge points that were fair and according to the rules. They donated about 5k forge points and i gave them about 1k forge points back along with over 10k goods for a bunch of different ages. The rules are not based on actual facts, but rather the opinion of any given moderator at any given time. This is unfortunate, but ohh well. I would have given 1 star because of support, but the game is really fun. Update: well as expected there was no change even after they wasted my time. They should have just dropped it with my post. My kids wanted to keep playing but they wont unban them as they stated they are “only in iron age and it wont take them long to get back.” 3 of them had arcs and a few terrace farms. I don’t think the support people know how to play their own game. It took my kids 3-6months to get all the bps and it took me another month to donate fps to get the goods for them. The support is laughable at best. Lowering my stars to 1 for the way they treated my kids and will have my 2 older leave a review.

Great but frustrating!. I played this a while back and was absolutely obsessed with it. It’s an incredibly addicting game. My account got deleted because I was inactive for a couple months. So I had to redownload the app and start a new file. Frustrating, but I took on the challenge to dive right in with the knowledge I gained from my first experience. Now, I’m working hard to get back to my previous progress. However, I’m extremely frustrated with the fact that it takes hours to gain goods and produce supplies, and I continue to get my hard work stolen by plunderers. It wasn’t like this before. I literally get my hard earned goods stolen constantly (every day, 3-5 times) by randoms. It’s like I’m playing for nothing?? I can’t get ahead. People continuously basically bully me and as hard as I try to rebuttal, I can get nowhere. If there’s any advice on this subject, I would appreciate it. Other than this, the game is so great. I just wish there was some better tips or advice on how to defend myself against this.

Broken endgame. Promising game with great music, graphics, and design. Frequent events with fun rewards that are manageable if you're a free-to-play player. The devs have clearly worked very hard on their product. Unfortunately, once you reach the contemporary era the game is completely unplayable for free players. PvP is forced on and there's no shield for getting raided; I have screenshots of 10 raids in a single day on my base (and each raid allows a player to loot your production buildings, preventing you from looting them yourself). Pay players will frequently attack you with armies that are 200% boosted by premium bases, using one troop 3-4 ages ahead of yours and 7 rogues (poorly balanced unit that automatically copies another unit in your army when it's attacked). Basically, there's no defense for free players against getting raided back to back with armies that are ages ahead of theirs and three times as boosted until all of their buildings are unusable. This happened basically every day for a month or two until I had to stop playing. Looking forward to a potential fix in the future because the game was otherwise designed with a lot of love.

Ok game until. The game is somewhat fun until you get to a certain age and are attacked and looted incessantly by man children who won’t level because they’re so large they can attacked anyone and plunder them without fear of retailing. The game caters to this. There is no requirement to level up so these people sit there and make themselves rich and you miserable on a daily basis and the developers love this. It’s like you high school football team having to play multiple NFL teams everyday. And their wonderful response to this will be “you can get a shield” which means you have to spend over a week collecting “visits” to your tavern from 80 or more friends on a daily basis for the pleasure of being left alone for a few days. Or pick up your loot on time which turns you into an anxiety ridden mess setting alarms and stopping whatever the thing you’re doing in real life because they allow some over grown a holes with no lives of their own to constantly feed off you instead of enforcing them to level and take on people at their own level. This is a constant theme of all their games and I’m extremely tired of them.

When great goes bad.. This used to be a fantastic app and I actually had no issues spending money when I wanted something. They built up a large following and now Inno has turned FOE in to a money grab and nothing more. It is ridiculous that you have to watch a video/ long advertisement just to motivate friends/ guildmates. It completely changes the flow of the game and frankly makes me feel like I am waisting my time. Now they have made it even worse where the videos kick you to a web page so you are literally forced to go back and forth before you can close the stupid advertisement. I hate it with a passion. You have incidents sprinkled throughout that show video icons so you have to watch before you can collect those incidents. For events, Inno has made it virtually impossible to get a fully upgraded event building. Noe you need fragments for the last level of buildings. Look at the current event- you have to do all those quests and you used to earn the base for the event building and two levels- now you can earn only one level and you get two dumb portraits. All that work for portraits? They are slapping us in the face with we WANT your MONEY. FOE exists solely to find ways to EXTORT people for THEIR CASH- period!

Great game and is free to play for real. There are reviews stating oh this game you have to pay for expansion space and oh it’s to hard or long for productions. Those people are bad at games and no patience as well as just saying things that are untrue. If you actually play the game yes it’s a slow start but it is totally free. The diamonds they speak of you get for free too… I get roughly 1000 diamonds a week from different in game fighting things and quests which the land expansions there are only two in an entire era and cost 200 diamonds each so that is easily affordable without spending any money. Forge points the main growth currency is very expensive to buy with money but the GbG guild event that basically is always going on is free and the by far biggest source of forge points just depends on how much time you play and getting in a good guild no money at all. People just want instant everything. This is a long term game like a marathon not a week sprint to beat it.. I’ve been playing for two years now and still growing and moving along. And best customer support I e ever seen too. They actually respond and help with even small things.

Just another “free” game. Like all the other 1 star reviews I have encountered all the same problems with this game. It does start off really good, but as you progress the game get almost impossible to do anything because you are moved to new neighborhoods with players at levels much higher the yours. If you don’t spend money to buy diamonds your progression will be unbearably long. I get attacked over 6 times a day by players at higher levels and they steal you production items. I asked the developer about how I keep getting attacked by higher level players and got a generic response of how I should collect my items right when they are done with production. Somehow player know to attack within 5 minutes of production being completed. Fair warning that this game is far from free even though the developer says it is possible with out spending money. Getting attacked constantly is frustrating enough to make you want to purchase the upgrade. Note to developer no need to write a response because I know how to contact you and your answer is already noted above. I know I can purchase city shields to stop the attacks. Now let’s see what kind of generic response the developer can come up with as to how they can solve all the above problems.

It shouldn’t be this difficult. I love these sorts of games. But I’ve nearly quit playing this game. There are no tutorials (not that I usually need one) so you blunder around learning by trial and error. And the errors made can be very costly in game play. It shouldn’t be so difficult to meet daily challenges often missing out only by a fraction after making every effort. Yes it’s a strategy game but with no directions and the difficulty being so high it becomes less enjoyable. I’m a rather intelligent person and I struggle to make progress in this game. I think the only reason I persisted this long is a stubborn will to not let it get the better of me.

Play and don’t pay. I have been playing this game for years now. I have never needed to buy diamonds to progress, and I am now almost at the highest age and have been able to establish my own guild getting as high as the top 50 ranked guilds. People who say you have to buy diamonds to enjoy the game, are missing the point and looking for the easy way to progress. If you want a game that requires patience and skill, this is the one for you.

Great game, just one bug.... Thanks to the developers for creating Forge of Empires. This is a really fun and engaging game, with multiple options to choose from, including a variety of worlds, lots of tech upgrades and a chance to play through the ages- all the way from the Stone Age to the distant future. I am writing this review to thank the developers, but also to spread awareness of an issue I encountered with the second to most recent update released for the game. I updated without an issue, but when I tried again to play, the game restarted me from the Stone Age, even though I had already reached the Early Middle Ages. My account and world were still there, but my progress wasn’t. If this could be recovered I would be very grateful. Thank you for your time and consideration; I know as developers you have much work to do. Thanks again. In reply to Developer Response: Thank you for your help! I will contact support soon. Thanks again for making the game.

Forge of empires. I enjoy playing the game. I like how the game is organised and has clear instructions. It also let’s you battle to expand your region, it’s like you are rule a real kingdom. I would like it more if it would let me also have different views of the empire other than birds eye view. I think it would me more enjoyable if it would also let you walk in your streets so you can have different. Jew of your empire.

Recommended. I’ve been playing this game for about 4 or 5 months now. I must admit I’ve also spent a couple of dollars here and there, but probably not more than what some people would spend anyway on buying games for PlayStation or so. The game is easy to understand and somehow keeps me hooked up. It’s definitely a lot about patience, things don’t happen right away in the game, but that’s fine. It’s also very interesting that as you play the game, you meet so many other players, and there are so many people playing the game for years, and most of the people are so easily approachable for advice. Really nice game

Fun, until you need real money. I found the first week of playing it to be enjoyable. By the end of week two, it became evident you need to use real money to progress. To complete your research tree for say agriculture, you need an item like dye, and need 30 units. You can only produce one every 4 hours, so prepare to grind. Or, 'buy diamonds' with your real money and solve that problem. Then do this again for sewage research. Then military tactics. Because trade at this point is non-existent. So I'll be deleting the game because it was designed to fail after a certain point of advancement. I will go back to Sim City, which IS playable without cash.

Good but needs a few changes. Game could definitely do with some kind of pacifist mode. Sick of getting attacked repeatedly by the same people when I have no interest in any kind of PVP. Maybe an option that makes it so you can’t get attacked if you haven’t attacked someone else in a certain amount of days would be nice. Also, an option to see when someone was last active would be helpful. As a guild leader, it makes it really difficult to keep track of active members when it only tells me if they’ve been inactive for 7 days or more.

Reduce the adds or increase the reward. Love this game. I am happy to watch adds. There is always something else I can do for a couple of minutes, but I will not click on an add if the reward is a chance of 3FP’s. 5 with the occasional 10, then yes I will. This is a business, I get it. You will get more clicks if you increase the reward, therefore more advertising revenue. Economics 101

New Ads are inappropriate. Hi Forge of Empires Team This seems to be the only way to contact you, it is very difficult to send an email etc to support particularly through the app. I understand the need for you to create a revenue stream through advertising as I appreciate that I do not need to pay a lot of money to have a good game experience. However, do you review your ads prior to posting? I encountered a highly inappropriate ad that was very demeaning to women through clicking on a chest as I just wanted them removed from my city. Please do a better job of reviewing ads prior to posting. I am disappointed that this kind of advertising was available on your game. It does give me pause about the game and my game play. From a long time female player who loves her downtime playing FOE.

Advertising has become intrusive.. I have been playing FOE for a few months now, and have generally enjoyed the experience up until now. As with most civilisation type games, it takes a while to get going, and a while to understand all the elements. FOE is less competitive than any of the mmo civilisation games I have played previously. Game play is always at the individuals level, so you are not constantly being attacked, farmed or robbed of your resources. The flip side of this is that the game is a little less social. You do not need to pay money for diamonds as they are available in the game play as rewards, however the temptation is very strong early in the game and this is when they are most useful. Once you have leveled up 3 ages, the temptation is gone. My main concern with the game is the insertion of advertising which has become quite intrusive. You are essentially being trapped into watching it, and are forced to interact with it to get it off the screen. There are nearly a dozen different triggers for the advertising and some are hard to avoid. It feels like an experiment gone wrong, and if it was there when I first started playing the game, I would have pulled out. I will see how it goes over the next few weeks, but am likely to move on if it continues.

Best. Game. Ever.. I have been playing FoE for over 2 years. It’s a great, relaxing game for killing hours when I’m bored in hotel stays for my job. I sometimes spend real money on Diamonds, but I do so voluntarily, partly to progress more quickly, but partly because I’m grateful the developers aren’t greedy like the developers of Game of War and have developed a game that can be played successfully for free. I’ve wasted $100 on a new Xbox game I played for only a few hours. On FoE I’ve made Facebook friends from around the world on Guilds I’ve joined in four of my cities. It’s obviously not for everyone, mostly because it requires some patience, but the gaming rewards are huge.

FoE encourages friendship not battles. I've installed many strategy games including famous ones and ended up uninstalling all of them but I have to admit FoE and another one (I am not gonna mention it) are still on my ipad and i cant stop playing them. FoE, as i titled, encourages you to progress and even conquering lands by friendship rather than battles, although you can still attack your neighbours but that's not ethical. At first the game seems boring and not easy to progress specially with awkward turne based battles but with patience things get better soon and enjoying. By the way, the theme music of the city and Friend's Tavern are so nice ... I downloaded them and keep listening to them at work or while commuting. Thanks

Terrible even with patience. TDLR: this game won’t let you progress properly unless you spend REAL money regularly. I have $101,000 and now stuck with nothing to do or build and they’re like “nah maybe you need to pay money to expand or progress” Dear game developers You just sent a pop up asking me to complete a survey to get to know me as a player. But when I agreed, it sent me no-where. So I’ve come to give you some feedback. I’m at the 14th stage of research, almost the high Middle Ages. I have $101,000 accrued. I have spent real money with you because initially it was fun. But I can’t get to the next level because you want me to find other resources like wine or gold but you can’t get those resources because I can’t expand my village without spending real money EVEN THOUGH I have $101,000 from taxes and nothing to spend it on. So I’m stuck. I log in to waste time because I’m waiting for other games like SimCity or Clash of Clans to give me something to collect hoping just sheer patience will get me to your next level but you don’t. You insist I spend money. Other games let me progress eventually but you guys? You really really really don’t care that I log in everyday and you ask again if I can spend real money in order to progress Suggest you find a way to reward ppl slowly with diamonds rather than bullying them to do it with real money or quit.

I Love this game. A very good game to play, many interesting to do. If do like game such as Age of Empire, u’ll love this one. I havent get Guild yet so not to much interaction with other player that i think it is necessary for this kind of game. Same as other game if do u want to do it better n fast u gonna need to spend $$$ or if do u want play for fun, u dont need to. Since i play CoC and kind bore when nothing to do, this become my subtitude. Need more special quest or event with Diamond as reward though, so at least player without money to spent can try to get something important, otherwise player gonna leave it since it will too slow to growth.

Fantastic!. This is a great game, it hooks you in, its about growing your city in a long term way. It is not a quick game to play and requires time to grow. Been playing 2.5 yrs now and was great during lockdown, but it starts consuming a lot of your time if you get addicted! Which it can be for some! I started due to my love of history and the amazing RL buildings you get to build in yr city. You don’t have to spend money, but many do to grow quicker. I try not too personally, but you can win lots also, or build buildings that generate them. This isn’t a kids game, so please monitor them if you let them. Adults only in my opinion.

Steal money! Don’t download. I’ve been using this game for a while now and the first time I’ve ever purchased a small amount of diamonds it all goes wrong. I purchased $4.50 worth of 115 diamonds for the first time since using the game. The diamonds never came.... I received an email from iTunes provided me with a receipt, the money was taken out of my account.... still no diamonds. I thought I would contact support to see what they could do, turns out not much. They stated on their system I received the diamonds and that I spent it already buying two resources that would cost 100! So I asked them well if I was meant to received 115 diamonds and supposedly I had spent it on these resources then why don’t I have an extra 15 left over. They also stated on their records that I had purchased a second amount of diamonds, which I told them I hadn’t received either an invoice or the money come out of my account so this was wrong. So why couldn’t their system be wrong about it not giving me the diamonds that I was owed. At the end of the day I know it’s only a small amount of money and it’s not worth all this drama but just a warning to people who want to download this app or purchase any diamonds from them, you have been warned!! They will happily steal your money and not think twice about it. Bunch of thieves.

Not happy with Welcome Back quest line. I’ve returned to foe last week and I’m not very happy with the Welcome Back quest line. The rewards are quite good, but it’s not right that it takes away the slot for the Daily Challenges. I was trying to rush to get through the quest line so I could get the Daily Challenges, but I was stuck waiting each day for a new quest to reset. Now I’m finally on the last quest, but it’s forcing me to research a technology, which means I have to advance eras prematurely when I’m not ready to… will be a big disadvantage for me. I can’t abort the quest line to get daily challenges back and there is no alternative to the research quest. I submitted a support case and there’s nothing they can do. Not a great experience for me returning to the game.

Make sure you find their hidden rules. Got banned for saying something political but was unaware of this rule and the rules are hidden in the forums which I’m not a member of so how am I supposed to know, went through the completely useless appeals process to be told basically I agreed to these rules when I started playing No where did I see these rules when I started playing as all you get is a tutorial and nothing more, there is no where you confirm you have read the rules ect but I’m apparently still in the wrong Contacting Support is a complete waste of time as it is run by arrogant unpaid Moderators who simply just don’t care Complete fail by Inno Games, its a law suit waiting to happen and I hope it does!

Great game. Not a fan of war/building games, but Forge of Empires is great, you are able to choose to negotiate, not fight. It is very challenging and makes you think outside the box. I play every day, the Support Team are quick to respond and are friendly. Interaction with other players to help with larger projects is encouraging too. Would highly recommended this game to all.

Greedy Developers. I have played the game for two years, thoroughly enjoying the many levels of activities, the amazing graphics and communication between players. I have always tried not to buy diamonds as using diamonds in the game is an easy way of progressing and eliminate challenges. As I progressed through the game I realised I was spending more and more. I told myself it was just my competitive nature and the game was worth it. It was only this last seasonal soccer event that I realised how greedy the developers have become. I could not have done more in the Event’s daily challenges, kept up with all demands from start to finish with few rewards along with 50% of players... the top 20%, 5% and 1% of players had to have spent up big buying diamonds to score any higher to gain the rewards. Very disappointing. Listen to your players complaints.

Be Careful. I thoroughly enjoy this game, but it comes with a trap. Most things can be obtained with coins in the early stages of the game. Once you hit the Iron Age though it is a money pit, as you need diamonds to purchase almost everything. And you need to buy the diamonds with real money. I will not be continuing far it seems as I am not going to pay exorbitant amounts for diamonds that do not go far. I really wish the game designers would revamp this game and enable people who do not have endless pockets to continue to play it.

Changed my mind. I downloaded this game but found it to hard and confusing. I gave a rating of 1 and a bad review. I was bored one night so gave it another go. I was hooked. It’s a great game that you can progress through without paying real money but it’s a slow, but enjoyable journey. I’m one month in and I look forward to playing each day. I’d like more expansions but that’s the catch. Eventually you get hooked and need to spend money if u want to grow big but it will be worth it as u can interact with other players.

Great but it’s all about the money. The concept and gameplay is brilliant. Pity it’s ruined by the necessity to keep spending more and more diamonds to have the gameplay experience intended. They say there’s no obligation to spend but you do because you want to actually interact with most features they offer, otherwise it isn’t much fun at all. If you’re semi serious you’re looking at min $30 a month. The free version is like if you were playing a car racing game you just stay in first gear. I found the support quick to respond, however a little arrogant. Even the collect all where you spend diamonds instead of clicking on all your buildings to collect then reset the production is bugged, their reply was well it half works so bad luck no compensation kind regards. Most apps at least compensate you when they admit they have bugs and screw up, not this one. This annoys the paying subscribers but they don’t seem to care.

Take heed if female. I’ve been playing the game for several years and it’s a great strategy game. The beauty of foe is that there are many ways to the top and you can choose different ways to get there. However, a word of warning to all female players. Foe has a very male dominated culture with much ego stroking and chest beating. You will never be taken seriously no matter how far you advance and you will be largely ignored. You will always be seen as subordinate to the male players. Otherwise, enjoy the game but hold your own and don’t expect too much unless you want to be an adjunct to the male ego.

Great if you’re committed. It’s a very good game if you’re planning on committing to it for a long time, although it only requires like half an hour a day. Overall great game, one thing I will say though is DO NOT LEAVE IF YOU’VE MADE PROGRESS. It auto-deletes your account after a year automatically, and after a month if you have less than 300 diamonds, so I can’t stress this enough to check on it regularly if you’ve made significant progress. Another thing I’ll say is to not use a guest account because it broke for me once and I lost about a month or two’s worth of progress, make sure you sign in - don’t make the same mistake I did. Would, and have highly reccomended.

Enjoyable game. This game has great depth and variety. It keeps evolving and has become more of fighting ilk while retaining civilisation type growth paths. Could I suggest now fighting has been ramped that the game needs to improve utility of city defence. There is no reason to ever lose resources through being plundered but building any defence has no benefit at all. Please make defence of some value to add the extra layer of game complexity.

It ain’t no Sid Meier’s Civilization…. Forge of Nations is a skin of a strategy game. The roadblocks you overcome are more about pushing you to purchase resources than any considered gameplay rationale. Not being able to queue production orders is one aspect of this. Quests that require you to reduce population- knocking down housing you’ve already paid for is another. Limited city sizes to build or the inability to rotate buildings is another subtle scam pushing you to more in game purchases. It is essentially Cookie Clicker in a strategy skin. It wasn’t so long ago that purchasing a game gave you an even playing field on which to fully explore that game. You owned the game. Now, game companies see players as renters rather than partners, to be farmed for cash. Another example of how boomers have left the world a worse place for future generations than the one they had.

Great game. No need to pay money. I usually dont put reviews but I saw lot of negative reviews here so had to share my experience. Firstly, when started playing i did spend on diamonds but then I joined few groups on fb explaining how I can play without spending money on diamonds or without using diamonds while playing and realised its 100% possible. I have been playing since more than a year now and haven't spent any real money. There are lot of people inside game to help you grow without money. I personally like the game so much that I wouldn’t even mind spending money to support developers for doing such a great job. Keep up

Warning.. This more warning to people thinking they are playing free to play game and have the same advantage when coming against a pay to win or hacker. And support team doesn’t care or want to address the problem. So if you enjoy your base getting raided by following enjoy the game After playing game for two years I noticed a players hacking. And ask support for help they say that player is not hacking. After giving proof of what was happening they said no this is done by gems and being active the person who this person in early middle Age and had 300% more dmg attack defence. to units. So it’s more of a pay to win game it seems even though they promote it to be free. And looking at the players base they had a lot of building maxed lvl 67/67 So if you enjoy your base getting raided you may not notice till colonial age and above. Aless you enjoy spending stupid amount of money on gems prices pretty steep too. by following enjoy the game

Trevor White. This is a game of love and hate, I love the graphics but the game is way to slow. Also even though the developers say other wise it is difficult to process through the game without spending cash. The game is very reliant on diamonds to do just about anything and very little are rewarded though game play. About the only guaranteed way of getting them is by buying them. This could easily be my favourite game but it isn’t and until they make some kind of change to the game to get diamonds easier I will not recommend it to anyone.

Good game. This time round it’s working a lot better - the only complaint is it takes to long for resources to be made - 4 ,8 hours, 1 day to get these things to progress and move forward .I would love to see these things halve . Also easier to move things around in the secondary game like the Egyptians to progress - us oldies don’t have heaps of time— thanks

Amazing game. I’ve been playing FOE for around 3 years now and have enjoyed every single experience with it. I love how you can progress 100% without any purchases which makes this one of the best free strategy games out there at the moment. The constant events for unique buildings and/or items is also an amazing idea and allows for obtainable challenges to give a bountiful amount of rewards. I love this game, and encourage all to play if you do not want to spend money on a nice, slow paced strategy game. The only criticism I have is the annoying natural rocks that occur in the overseas civilisations, it can be quite annoying to work and build around.

The game is ok. It’s a fairly decent game, nothing crazy special... It makes me laugh that people are leaving reviews saying it’s a scam and they were essentially ‘forced’ to spend real money. That’s not the games problem, that’s your problem. If you have a problem managing your own money then maybe you shouldn’t be playing games that give you the option to spend real money hey? Don’t be mad because you’re an idiot..

Game bug/error-August/September 2022. Love this game but it randomly quit out on me mid game for no reason a while back and performed an update and since then when I try to open the game it loads for about half a second then goes back to my iPad home screen. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked for any software or game updates and nothing will fix it😣

Why negative reviews?. I have never written a review but feel I have to now . I just want to put my hand up to say I am a long term player ( 6+ years ) & have never payed a cent. I felt guilty about this but now I can pay in kind with this review. I have never met any of the people I play with but I play with some wonderful people & enjoy helping others in the game. I play 4 games regularly & I can name at least 1 that is more money grabbing than this one. You do need patience so take your time & enjoy the journey!

Awesome..!!. Top game been waiting to find another great game to fill in some spare time and this game has everything.. Took me awhile to get used to it but now I know most of the game and it’s great. Trading, fighting, negotiations, great buildings, dealing, risk taking, investing, brain storming, tactical, bargaining, swapping and heaps more cool stuff in this game. That’s why it gets 5 stars from me I love it, highly recommended, who ever invented this game is a genius, if life is getting a bit dull and boring then this is the game for you, great satisfaction evolving through FoE, really great people play this game to, it attracts the nicer side of humanity for some reason. Very cool indeed.. best of all you can play for free, u don’t need to, but I have spent $50, it’s the cheapest entertainment I have ever had in my 41 year life, fantastic.! 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👌

Great! Self control is the key. This is a great game! The bad reviews are due to their own lack of self control. You have the option to not spend a cent. Like every similar game, when you buy, the price of packages increase. I find this way better than Game of War which cost me almost $1000 to keep up! GOW has way too many updates and too complicated with so many components. The new troops cost too much and if you don’t have the gears you were crushed every time. This is not the case here. You can build at your own pace. Joining a good guild is the key as well as finding great powerful friends to help with goods and teach you tricks and short cuts. There’s guild competitions where you fight the computer troops in diff levels and earn lots of rewards such as diamonds so you don’t need to spend. If you trade and swap and log in once a day to collect you will build up goods and fp and get great buildings without spending money. I have been playing almost 2 years now and haven’t felt the need to spend. You spend when your lazy but if you work hard you reap what you sow. Great guildies will help with donations to your great building to level them quicker and also means you have lots of opportunities to contribute to their buildings and earn rewards including great building blue prints. Also I got a lot of great buildings goods from great guild and friends. If it’s not them I wouldn’t be able to build without spending or it would be very slow

People are having problems with the developers?. I personally have no idea what half of these negative reviews are talking about. I’ve been playing this game on and off for a bit over 6 years, on two different worlds. I’m currently in the Oceanic future and I’ve never spent any money on diamonds. It became apparent to me that wishing wells and the guild expedition were the main source to gain diamonds, I have 30 shrunk wishing wells and get about 50 diamonds a day on average. Of course the developers want you to buy diamonds and offer insentives or bonuses with purchases but by no means are they “forcing” you to purchase anything. I have bought about 10 expansions with diamonds and I have enough for another one. Personally, I think they should probably make it easier for early players to progress in terms of goods because it can be really demotivating trying to get people to accept your trades, especially when you aren’t in a solid guild. But I stick by my statement that there is nothing greedy or unethical or any problems with integrity about these developers. They are just honest people, who need to make a living as much as the rest of us. If people want to spend money on this game for the fun of it I see that as a complete win-win. Top game, keep it up guys😁

Not much to do…gets greedy quickly…. Within 15 minutes you run out of things to do and start getting steered towards using gems to hurry things up or pay for extra items to complete quests unless you want to stare at your screen 5 minutes at a time. There’s seems to be a disproportionate weight in what gems are worth as completing a 24 hour queue costs ~80 gems but a 1 minute queue costs 4 gems. There are better games in this category that can give you hours of activity before pulling the “pay to play” ruse and by that point I’m usually happy to support the devs. Not so much this one…

Greedy, no integrity developers and game owner. This game is free to play and diamonds speed up the game and give you more power and even though you can play the game without diamonds, when you get sucked into buying diamonds (which you will) you need to be careful because this game is specifically designed to steel your diamonds which cost a lot of money to buy. They do this by far placing the “spend diamond” button on the areas on the screen where you are most likely to accidentally press it, often a spend diamond pop comes up under your finger when building structures, and not like they charge you 5 diamonds to finish a 5m task, they would charge 500 diamonds, which costs $70 to buy.

Slightly addictive........ Great fun and well designed game that makes it easy to still play well and be competitive, without spending real world cash!! Game designers, please make the server time more visible somewhere. It's a bit annoying having to click the daily quest timer reset cog every time to see how long ago someone motivated something!

Avoid this game! It’s a trap & a SUPER clever scam. Don’t even try this game. Don’t listen to anyone who dares say they’re playing this game for this or that much time and they never had to pay. They are simply lying. I played for 2 year in Parkog & other worlds, lost a lot of money and fortunately I could recover 4-5 months ago and went back to normal life. ALL my friends on the game, from USA, Australia, Europe and the Middle East, share with me in confidence and embarrassment that they feel they are somehow “addicted” or take hostage by the game but they’re too afraid to confess that they’re losing money and their life to this game. I repeat: ALL of them long timers. At first, you don’t feel what I’m sharing here, but if you play long enough you’ll fall into a psychological trap that is even worse than a scam. I have never written a review but I feel responsible to come forward and speak against this destructive game. At first, the game makes you rest reassured that you never “need” to pay for diamonds but as you go ahead, it manipulates you into voluntarily wanting to pay small amount and then bigger and bigger sums. You won’t notice it, until it’s too late. Avoid this game at all cost. Every friend I had from the game is happy for me to break free from the game and they wish the same for themselves.

This game doesn’t steal your money!. This game makes it so you can spend but it’s your choice it’s a great game just takes a lot of time to get good the battles will be difficult but you go up the ages it’s always. The same hard simple don’t waste money just play the game as you are meant to. Dear developers thank you for making such an amazing game 😁

This game is the best game of its kind. This game is almost equal to the sims in terms of its addictive nature and satisfying in terms of the achievement you get from starting from a few small houses and supply building to creating a metropolis, but it can become quite addictive, and time consuming, but keep in mind the achievements you attain in the journey of building your world is well worth it and it can be done without having to pay a cent, it just takes time. I’ve been playing it for over 3 years and still love it the same as my first day, I just wish it wasn’t as time consuming and that the forge point collection allowed more forge points 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great game but why so expensive?. I enjoy playing for free, it’s a great time filler, entertaining and rewarding. I don’t understand why it’s so expensive if you choose to speed things up a little. When you look at the current price of diamonds and how quickly they’re consumed it doesn’t make sense to spend. Also waiting 3.5hrs for a single unit to be trained seems a little lengthy. The times seem quicker in the PC version I noticed. I believe the game would make more by lowering costs to around 10% of what they are currently. Unless people are happy to spend hundreds of dollars when they can buy bigger console games for less.

Hooked. Love the game I don’t normally play games with battles but the information said it was a choice between fighting or negotiations, that is not completely true as to negotiate you need lots of goods like everything else in this game. I have tried to fight by auto attack but I usually loose. It’s a big learning curve for anyone that has not ever battled turn for turn. Just learning the advantages of each army type is hard as there are no instructions, I have read everything I can find and watched Ytube. Even the videos are for people that have previously had fight experience. Apart from that I love it, I only hope that the fighting stops me playing.

Stay away!. This game preys on your addictive nature and makes sure you pay lots of real money to get the features you really want or need. When I originally started playing it was mostly free to play but lately they’ve been trying very hard to make it necessary to pay $$$ to satisfy the game addiction. They’ve recently introduced video ads in lots of places within the game which means you either have to spend a lot more time each day in the game watching boring ads or you don’t get many of the features you used to. Take my advice and stay away from this game!

Response to developer’s response to “terrible even with patience “. Ok, now I have played this game for some time and am now making my way through “Arctic Future” but the claim that I could have possibly got here without spending any real $$ is an absolute outright LIE and you know it FoE!!! I understand that you guys are in it to make money and your game isn’t what I’d call cheap and that’s my decision to progress this far with it but do NOT suggest for a moment that you could get where I am in the game without spending a reasonable amount of dollars/euros/whatever. That is pure deception!!

Never spent a thing, 3 years... This game has been fun, and I can honestly say I’ve not spent real money on it. The key is to not progress quickly but chill, build up, stock up goods and work on military attack/defence. Sometimes the events are hard to win the overall prize with the event game, but they do need to make money somewhere. Overall, I’m a basic player happy to skate through as a free user. Thanks,,

A must have. Been playing FOE for about 8/9months now and I can't get enough. I like how the game encourages friendship, cooperation and fair play. Whether your in a guild or not, working with others is the way to go. Also the game makers do a great job to find ways to keep us players happy. The only thing that gets me at times is how long it takes for buildings and soldiers etc... to finish but even that doesn't take anything away from the game. If you haven't played your missing out download now. Also I have to agree with Breaca10, some people want easy games. Like I said, I been playing for 8/9 months and I'm at late middle ages, I haven't spent any dollars on game. Not lying either (StevePrima) I don't have PayPal or any other means to spend $. Spending $ might make it easier but I think would take away from the experience of FoE. Don't listen to the bad reviews, in fact play the game for your self and you can see for your self. A must have 😀😀😀😀

So frustrating with the game legging it just about drives me insane. The game legs so bad ! All I ever seem to get in the battle grounds area is the swirly bird. The game has gotten so big their server can’t handle the load. I have a extremely fast internet connection. This game needs some serious cut back! The timer in their battle grounds doesn’t agree with the timer on my phone either I am just so frustrated with this game! It feels like I have took so long to build up what I have in this game to be bulldozed with all their other stuff that goes on that I feel like I have just waisted my time.

Bad service. The game itself is actually pretty good. It’s the only game I’ve ever spent money on. Unfortunately I am deleting the app because of diamonds purchased and not received and after sending screenshots of Apple receipts and bank statements they are not willing to honour the diamonds I purchased, and are claiming that purchase was made days before, but it wasn’t. And my bank statements are proof. They pretend to help but they don’t. Don’t waste your money on this game.

Buying. I hate being stuck having to spend real money to get more diamonds. Should be able to earn everything to play. Getting frustrated & bored of it.

Too bad about the ads. Love this game, but too bad about the new ads. At least they give you the option of watching them or not, but when stuff has been ad free and now it’s not it sure slows down the game. Really noticing a difference. And not in a good way….

Will not download. I have no time for games.that are setup to steal money from people’s pockets.... haven’t played this game, but well aware of the full intent of the developers!!!! Shame on you!!!

Love it. Been playing it for years, never a dull moment. Lots of challenges, new things. The game appears easy at first, but after playing it for 5 years, I keep finding deeper levels of complicated twists and turns.

Battle Doesn’t work 😂😂. Ummm...yeah. You can’t actually battle. It stays to tap a green square...only you can’t. The game is not responsive. Might wanna work out those glitches!!

Many changes in the game. I have been playing for a long time. I find the game has become a bit like a chore, just lots and lots repetitive things to do witch become tedious and takes the fun out of the game. Of course game has expanded a lot witch is fun but the space Inno gives does not follow suit so when your a high level player its less fun as you can’t build as one would like. Changes in GE have been good, GBG some is good but fighting has become a chore with having to change your army all the time, it becomes boring having to always change it and time consuming for nothing. Too bad they are removing GVG, its one part of the game that actually offers more strategy

It had so much potential. I have tried twice now to get into this game because the concept is amazing. But you learn very quick that it is next to impossible to progress without spending real money on the game. Without paying you really can only play once a day when your productions are done and build 1-2 small cottages, when it reality you need much more. If you have the time and patience you can progress over years but for casual gaming its a catastrophic let down.

Problem. When I click on research it often freezes my system! Must do full shut down! Not pleased

Game download. I downloaded the game from the AppStore. Then I start the game and still have to download 1.1gigs? I don’t want to play this game that bad.

Fix issues. What used to be a great game has since become a complete joke. Instead of releasing new content the devs need to listen to us long time players of the game and FIX THE ISSUES! 5 starts pre GbG, 1 star now for what’s become a complete joke. Well done 👍

CHEATERS ALLOWED. A lot of cheating , and Inno doesn’t take any actions. As a result honest people who has been playing for many years and spending a good money on the game are quitting. Now they are updating the game in a way you need to pay to be competitive. Consequence will be more players quitting. If you are not planning to spend a good money playing, find another game.

Âge of Empire. This game is too expensive to play. After one night, you could spend a ton of money and it keeps asking for more. So don't play this game.

Crashes. Way too much waiting for things to happen. But mostly enjoyed it until newest update. Freezes when opening on iPad Air. If not fixed in the next few days, it will find its way into the app abyss.

Boring game.. First of all you need to wait days if you want to unlock something or pay up and buy diamonds. Everything is limited and takes ages. Battles are boring. You cant build an army you are limited to 10 or so soldiers in a battle and computer has always better soldiers so you can never win, either wait weeks to unlock or again pay to get diamonds to unlock. Overall I got bored quickly.

Lots of fun. Good time growing town and building up through the ages

Forge of empires, meh.. I like the game when playing on my iPhone. Problem is I can’t play in the Guild vrs Guild system. Which is far superior to the lame Guild Battle Grounds. I would leave for another game in a heartbeat.

Frustration. THE WORST COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE PLAYING THIS GAME I played for about a year, and felt horrible several time due to behaviour of players in this game. This game leaves you with frustration, anxiety, and many bad feelings. There are many players who misbehave. They bully, They disrespect you, They make you feel horrible, They steal your resources which you spent real money on buying them. This game is full of non trustworthy players. Players with real life issues. You should not trust anyone in this game which means no fun for me. Even your supposed friends and guildmates, you cannot trust. They cheat in FP swaps, etc. And noone really cares. Leave this game and all its frustrations. ITS A GAME TO PRACTICE TO BE A HORRIBLE PERSON.

Best no annoying ads. Ewing pay for years. Good

About Recent Events…. FOE was a nice game and it was easy to play before. Recently, I give up all the special events because they are so difficult to play (especially on this Halloween event), it is so difficult to play and collect all fragments to build the event buildings, every time I play the event and I only get 4, or even less fragments. I have started playing this game since 2018. At the beginning, playing event was so much fun, I have been so confused and frustrated to play all 2023 events Playing special event becomes harder and harder, it make the game less attractive, I am considering to quit this game.

Awesome. Thanks

Forge of empires game. Great game for those with internet access at home or elsewhere but you can’t play offline which makes it almost impossible for me to play until I get access to the internet again.

Love it. Cant stop

I Hate Ads. This used to be my go-to game but not anymore. I really enjoyed the challenge and excitement of playing. I actually was active in 2 worlds. Went on holiday and when I returned to the game the ads appeared. As I had said, I hate ads. I had spent a fair amount of money building and enjoying this game but I guess the temptation was too great for the developer to turn down the ad sales. I was on the fence for the longest time whether I would continue or not. I have decided not to continue and have had no feedback from the developer that they miss me so….. I will also say that I miss the in game chat with other members in my worlds. If you don’t mind the ads it is a great game.

Did not pay out. If you a playing this game from a money app it doesn’t pay out

Incroyable. Le meilleur jeu d’histoire pour mobile 😝😝

Great game. Love it

Inno is one of the worst companies.. This game would be great if the company wouldn’t be complacent in letting players be thieves and plunder others to get ahead. Inno’s only solution is to either play more often so you’re not plundered or set up better defenders. Effectively making it seem like a penalty and the player’s fault for not playing enough. I see you, Inno. Get your act together.

Why did it take me so long to join this game?!. I love this game! Beautiful graphics, cool little tasks, only music is a bit boring. Nevertheless, I’m a fan! 👍

Good game spoilt by dishonesty. An enjoyable game it is a shame that it is spoilt by misleading and dishonest descriptions and definitions.

Super. Super

Slow as a snail. This game moves really slow. Can’t really do anything unless you do the in app purchase.

Sucks. Do not get this I got games is the worst people the game takes 1 hour to train 1 troop( 2d troop) game is rather you get mad about something in and you need to pay so you keep paying or you just rage this game should be taken down and the company should loose all money and get out of this world

Boring grind. This game is a mindless grind with a lacklustre city builder foundation. The more you play, the worse it becomes. Don’t waste your time.

Boring and non progressive. This game is fun until late middle ages maybe before then its boring and you are always against foes one age higher than yours no matter what. You cant get any great buildings such as tower of babalon or any wonder its impossible if you have made an account after 2018 and i don't have money for cheap , shoddy and pointless games. I think clash of clans had more strategy than this file of junk. This game need nations such as greek and you need to be able to change it once every era. Its 4.5 stars cause players tend to spend money on this. By the way don't download its not worth it. It will ask for all your money. I don't spend money on video games. Developers why does apple support you?

I love it 😍. really good games. I advice it! 👌🏼 🏘🌇⚒⚔️

FOE. Great game. Very creative and you can decide your own style of play. Very addictive, be careful;)

WAS my favourite game for 5 years. Operative word WAS…..now game crashes or locks up at least one day per week for multiple hours requiring user to delete and reload multiple times before it actually works again…for about a week ( or until next game update). Problems have worsened since the developers decided to insert advertisements into the game. Disappointing as I used to enjoy the game….wasting about 3 hours per day on gameplay…😎 A new week…and oh surprise surprise….the game crashes repeatedly requiring delete reload multiple times. Get your act together Inno Another week and yet again must delete the app and reload. I think I spend more time waiting for the game to load or re installing it than actually playing the game. Update…..still crashes all the time. The more money the developers try to squeeze from players the more the game crashes.

This game is way better if you join a guild. I love this game and have been playing it for years, it’s also available on pc so it’s a lot more in-depth than most App Store games. It will probably be boring the first 2 days while you do the tutorial but I promise it gets better. My biggest recommendation is to join a top 100 guild as soon as you can.. you’ll learn a lot more from other players than the game itself. They’ll teach you, can give you goods and help you build up your city. It’s a nice community with people all over the world! 10/10 recommend

Pay to play game. It’s a pay to play game, could have been great but there are items that diamonds and you gotta pay $$$ for diamonds. (Ofc they’re the best items)

Very slow. Game is put together well plays smooth..... but it's very boring about 10 mins of playing ran out of things to do then wait for hour for 1 research point oh and almost everything takes at least 5 research points.

Forge of empires. Great game. It's fun because you don't get everything for free. You have to work for it. Keep on keeping on.

Need to buy stuff to do anything meaningful. You need “diamonds” to build a lot of stuff and really the only way to get them is to buy them IRL; without them the game is super slow and boring!

Unauthorized purchase costs $80. This is not a complaint about the game, but the application itself. The aggressive in-app purchase sales pop up from time to time. Yesterday my finger accidentally hit an offer before I could even read it. Then my thumb grazed the bottom of the phone and spent $80 before I knew it. The whole process took less than 1 second. In a panic, I quit the app and restarted it. A message said the order was not delivered, and asked me to confirm. I cancelled instead, and the order did not complete, or so I thought. The next day I received a receipt from Apple for $80 and discovered that the money had left my bank account, even though the order was not delivered. After a spending a good part of my morning navigating Apple support, a nice person named Janica was able to reverse the charges, and I can expect to have the money back in 7-10 days. I have deleted the Forge of Empires app from my phone, and will not use it again.

City building?. I really wish this game was just about building your towns/cities through the ages and not about battling other players. Totally ruins the game. Would’ve loved building throughout the different ages.

Buggy. The game seems to have continual bugs, currently it is freezing constantly. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any luck. I’d be happy to play but the constant freezing/bugs is too much.

👉 Are you looking for an Adsense alternative advertising platform?

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!

Awesome! But One problem. Overall I really love this game! It lets me build my own empire that I can customize to my liking. And I get to make stuff that I’m actually proud of! My only difficulty is that there is no alternative way of getting diamonds. This is of course a HUGE problem because I am not allowed to earn things such as paved roads. I would have to pay 10 diamonds just for some roads. I mean how crazy is that?! So I’m stuck with my dirt roads indefinitely. Which is a big disappointment because I was looking forward to being able make a utopia. But I can’t really do that when so many of the possibilities are blocked off. But there is a solution to every problem. I suggest that the developers make a alternative way of earning diamonds. They can make it as hard as they want to earn them as long as I get to have a few to make my roads. Thanks for the amazing game! And please consider my idea🙏. It would mean so much.

Pick a Style. I've played hundreds of strategy and city builder apps. This game tries to be both and it doesn't work. Ads for this game are deceptive. Buildings do not rotate which the developer has admitted they did to be difficult. Research points either takes many hours to replenish, or are really expensive to replenish with real world cash. In fact, this is what makes the game so blasted slow and unplayable. Build up, hit a tech wall, close the app, play again in 8 hours. No joke. That or drop 10$ on diamonds to replenish. Most tech takes the majority of your points to get CLOSE to unlocking meaning it could take days to unlock a specific tech tree. Then, there's plundering. Where a large level player blows you back to the dark ages by taking all of your resources. Good news! Your can spend money to help! Look. Most mobile games have microtransactions and they aren't going away no matter how much people complain. But the cash grab by INNOGAMES is just blatant thievery. The developer can do better and make a smarter platform. Until then, count me OUT.

PvP is stupid. No interest in playing this game due to the nature of PvP. Allow people to attack and steal goods without actually taking the goods from the defending player. I have no interest in PvP, but I love building my city. If you want to actually defend your city, you basically have to outspend the attackers in time and real world money. “Oh but city shield is in tavern!” Ya and it unlocks with 8 chairs, and costs too much to use once a month and lasts 1 day. Pointless. I’d play this game if they offered PvE worlds or something. The funniest part is that I loved the game right up until PvP starts. It literally ruins the entire game. Edit to developer: your canned response that is on a lot of reviews isn’t helpful. The reason for my feedback isn’t to clarify that PvP is a part of the game. The reason for my feedback is for your to understand that your user base might want more than one mode of gameplay. Rather than turn away the users you copy paste that response to, perhaps make a server for no PvP or something… great job accepting feedback tho ignoring what I said and telling me it’s a feature.

Great game with some minor downsides. Just recently began playing this game and honestly love nearly everything about it......with a few exceptions. I play 90% through the mobile app, and I do wish I had some of the same controls/features that are available on the desktop version. I hate that I cannot check on my guilds activity unless I am on the desktop, as well as I cannot see who in my guild made a particular trade or donated to the treasury unless I’m on the desktop. I also wish guild founders/leaders had more control over their guild in general. For example if there is a member who accidentally (or intentionally to be annoying) posts something, there is no way to get rid of it. As the guild leader, there should be a way to control these things, otherwise there is no way of enforcing rules of the guild other than simply kicking members who don’t comply. Other than minor things like this the game is fantastic.

Needs more diversity. I just went to change my profile pic in the game and noticed that out of 170 characters there are only 9 black ones- 3 male, 6 female. You need to add more options for players with black skin other than black knight, black man with a turban and football player. I can imagine how black people feel when they go to pick a profile pic and its just an endless sea of white characters. Aside from that I love playing this game. Unlike other games of its kind, there’s so much to do that you never really get to a point where you’re done growing and it becomes repetitive. I also really love the social aspect of it to. You can have your own city, but you can help out others and others can help you so that you benefit and joining a group or guild is great because you’re helping each other out further and working as a team while you build your own city. There are always quests and challenges so you’re never going to get bored.

Fun to a certain Point.....then walk away. Love the concept building the cities throughout various ages. Made it to the modern ages. I agree with others that there is a certain point where you must purchase diamonds in order to sufficiently advance. For the developer who stated they made it through the entire game without purchasing diamonds, i imagine it’s because you know the rules. I understand thats where the app makes money. Two items that seem to be irritating and have now caused me to NEVER buy any more diamonds 1) plundered by user which mysteriously happens after diamond purchases 2) poorly documented instructions with regards to rules, advancing to levels, defeating armies, etc. that is only available through Wiki. Come on guys! Move instructions within the app. Flesh them out to where they’re actually valuable rather than a sentence or two as is the case with the majority of them. It’s like a 7th grader documented it for extra credit. Take pride in the game. It’s fun but needs to be fine tuned

Fewer players these days to trade with. I used to play this game a couple years and really enjoyed it. Started playing it again because my girlfriend discovered it and thought it’d be fun to play together. Unfortunately it’s incredibly apparent that their player base isn’t what it used to be. It used to be super easy to trade goods that you need to unlock new technologies, Great Buildings, etc. Now there might only ever be 6-10 trade offers posted at any given time. Really makes it difficult to proceed through the ages when you’re constantly having to do the 10-for-1 trade. Before, this didn’t become an issue until much later in the game. I’m currently only in the Iron Age and I can barely progress because I can’t trade for the goods I need. Perhaps lower the 10-for-1 trade to 5-for-1? Something like that to make up for this lack of player commerce?

Fun game...but. I wish they would add some quest or something that allows you to win some gems legitimately and not necessarily have to buy them. Also again Great game but I also wish there was a way to find people more easily that would without a doubt trade goods that I and many people need. Like for example a new tab that shows players that are engaged in trades and/are online and are committing. If a dev reads this. Please at least take my suggestions into Account. I’m trying to help you guys get better press if you were to resolve many issues players still have with this game. Also you can add cosmetics and such that no one would mind paying for as long as they are cool. That way you still make lots of money yet also make an awesome better game. Peace.

Restricting players that are in higher ages.. I want to complain, but I’m not mad or angry. I am way up in the ages (mars), and I have noticed that since the Arctic age, I receive less and less event buildings that would give me a boost in the game. Now I have spent a Small Fortune, to play this game. I applaud the great graphics, the bug free flow of the game, and it is very challenging. But, it appears that you are deliberately restricting the upper players so you can keep us playing and “MILK US” of as much money as possible. Be honest, is that why I only receive the same “Old CRAP” in the antique & auction center, the longer time factors in the goods buildings (1 Day is now 2 days) and higher cost for less goods purchases, and the total lack of event buildings that provides me with nothing in the way of assistance. Please respond and point out where I’m wrong in my conclusions.

Free to play?. While sure the game is technically free to play it’s almost very very slow if you play that way to the point were it’s not even fun. I get the game is a marathon but I also understand what the developers are trying to do what is make the game so slow and boring so that users use real cash to make the game fun. Sadly all mobile games and even more and more console and pc games are going this is way what is sad. Personally I don’t mind paying money to play a game considering all my games on my pc cost money and I even refer the old ways instead of this “freemium model” of continuous payments that get you barely anywhere but the fact that micro transactions in this game don’t get you much is ridiculous. I’ve seen buildings in the game cost as much as $40 when you convert everything especially with the new bidding system. You could easy send $200 on the game and it would barely get you anywhere. The amount of greed is too greet. If you can justify why a pixelated building is worth $40 when I can purchase an entire computer game on steam and be done and just play the game without micro transactions to make it remotely fun then I’m heading back to pc.

Bad changes being made to a good game. I have been playing for about 5 years and now Inno has decided to change the entire direction of the play. Instead of earning an entire One Up or Renovation kit you now have a gather pieces but that is very difficult. The rewards for Guild Expedition and Guild Battle Grounds have also been grossly reduced with the intent it seems to force players to buy game currency (diamonds) with real money. I will think about these changes and if they do limit my ability to play and progress in the game then I will quit. I don’t recommend new players to begin the game because they will absolutely have to spend real money to play and progress through the ages to be able to compete. Don’t start until Inno rethinks their money grabs!

Needs work. The concept of the game is amazing. The story quests, the events, even having a tavern to manage for boosters. However, the mechanics need fixed. A) for the love of sanity please allow the buildings to rotate! I could fit so much more in the limited amount of space if you would just allow people to rotate the buildings. B) the population management is a nightmare. I don’t like the amount of population that get taken up for some of these buildings. I can see where it adds to the reality of workers being taken up by a job, but since when did a blacksmith need 12 people or a marble works need 108 people? If you’re going for realistic then set realistic numbers. A blacksmith would need no more than 6 and a marble works maybe 25-30. C) in a game that requires constant selling of lower tier buildings to make way for newer, I would expect more of the supplies to come back, but I guess you wouldn’t get as many micro sales if you did that. D) I am starting to notice a paywall creeping up. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. Any game that advertises “Play for free!” has a catch. But this isn’t just a catch, it’s almost an impossible wall that can either be passed by paying or a month of gameplay. I like the game, but the above mentioned make it not so fun and downright aggravating. I’ll keep it loaded on my phone for a little while longer to see if any of these get fixed but chances are I’ll delete it by the end of the week.

Totally incompetent programmers!. This is an outstanding game concept totally ruined by the fact that the developers and programmers are grossly incompetent. You cannot play this game for even one day without the game freezing or exiting to login half a dozen times. And these events are compounded by the failure of the software to back up to before the programming error. No, that would be too much to ask of the incompetent developers and programmers at Inno. Instead, wherever you were in the game becomes your endpoint, but the game finishes the episode you are in, so you lose. Period. You lose game resources, you lose battles you were winning, you lose your fighting resources, and you lose time, so you may miss a large fraction of the entire day’s rewards. It is so frustrating that I quit every week. It is such a shame, because the game - if it actually worked - is a truly great fun, and addicting game. But the problems, which they keeping making over and over without learning from their mistakes, make you want to throw your phone or computer out of your 44th floor window.

Don’t waste your time. I’ve played this game for a number of years. When I first started 6 years ago, the developers were very generous in giving rewards. For example when you motivated or polished another player using an example of 50 friends, you would acquire a BP (blue print) for a GB (Great Building) approximately 10 +- a day. Now with 80 friends I’m lucky if I acquire 1-2 a day. Other rewards too numerous to list here, have become have been reduced to segments. For example, a wishing well which can randomly produce free diamonds, goods, coins and supplies use to be rewarded as a complete building. Now you are offered a segment of a wishing well meaning you must acquire 15 fragments of a wishing well to build one complete wishing well. One must realize that the game is FREE but if you wish to advance through the different eras and be competitive you will purchase diamonds. One needs to pay the salaries of the developers and companies don’t start a business to loose money in the long run. The game is significantly unbalanced to players in the the low eras: Bronze Age, Iron Age, Middle Ages etc it’s a very slow advancing game in real time. My suggestion is to look elsewhere.

Fun ongoing game!. I love this game a lot. I have been playing on and off for over a year now. I like that you can still accomplish goals and meet game play expectations without spending money (it just might take a long time). If you are impatient this game is probably not for you. Once you get to the higher levels most tasks take hours or even days. For the most part players are kind and friendly to interact with (you now are required to friend other players in order to keep up your tavern and acquire boosts) but sometimes players get a little too involved. I play this game casually, so it always strikes me as funny when someone unfriends me because I haven't contributed enough to their city. I typically log in twice a day for 10-15 min. 5 days a week, so it seems outrageous to me. There are a variety of ways to play and plenty to do. They have lots of events with new items so it never gets boring to me.

Recent addition of Ads killed it for me. I played FoE religiously for around 5 years, founded one of the best guilds in Xyr called Friend or FoE, was much loved by my guildmates and other players in the game, purchased diamonds on several occasions just to show my gratitude for Inno creating such as awesome game. I was always an extremely active player who went above and beyond to make my guild the best. With the latest update that brought In-Game ads everywhere, that was it for me. Completely deleted my account & city and will never play again. Putting ads in the game either means Inno is financially in big trouble or they just got incredibly greedy. Whatever the reason, goodbye Forge of Empires! Aside from the recent additions of the ads, which caused me to quit the game and give it a 1 star rating, I always loved this game and the friends that came along with it. What a sad day. All these ads in the game will be the downfall of Forge of Empires. Inno, you blew it big time. Hordes of people are deleting the game. Inno will now be bankrupt within 6 months.

The adds waste my time. I’m fine with everything about the game except for the adds. I’m fine with the adds, but loading them takes thrice as long as the ads themselves. Often, when an add fails to load, I can’t watch another one again and have to restart the game. It takes around 15 seconds for an add to load. I could ignore them, but they pop-up everywhere in the game, so I have to get it over with so that they would stop bothering me. I see you guys announce a new version of the game at least once nearly every week, but everything is just the same. Could you make the game faster to load the adds and also other things like the tavern options? That would really save me time for the rest of my days.

Love it. I normally avoid free to play games like the plague for all of the obvious reasons you can imagine. This game is very fair with its F2P model, so much that I’ve dropped a few bucks here and there to support the developers. It’s worth checking out if you’re tired of being harassed by frustrating game mechanics that constantly punish you for not spending money all the time. The community is very active and helpful. I have been in two guilds now and both have been outstanding, the game really encourages teamwork and communication which I like a lot. I always feel connected to people. There’s a lot of content, so much that I doubt I’ll ever see all of it. The progression is slow, but I like that in a game like this that I check a few times a day. There’s always a nice sense of progression, and there’s a lot of strategy involved in how you plan out your city, which is great. When I begin to suspect I’m going down the wrong strategic path, back tracking and trying new things isn’t too tedious, rather it seems encouraged - which I like a lot. Anyway, I can keep going - but I really like the feeling I get from this game, it isn’t like other offerings in this genre, maybe that’s due to the game’s maturity over such a long course of development. Of all the garbage games on my phone and ipad, this one is a staple. I highly recommend it.

Good idea! And immersive world. But too much fishing and too many bugs. The idea of this game is fun, and I’ll likely keep playing it. I would not recommend it, though. It has bugs, and a lot of them. First: it says you will get diamonds, if you invite friends. This isn’t True! We’ve tried it twice now, and all you get is a long nose, and you don’t even get to be in the same world (even if you follow message link). There are other kinks. Like: now I’m stuck on a winter event star quest, that isn’t acknowledging infiltrating provinces, and the so called negotiations are just an attempt to get the players to spend diamonds (which cost money). Loads of elements to the game like that. Get you stuck. Won’t let you get unstuck without diamonds, and loads of them. I get they made the game to make money, but it is a shame. Maybe it’ll be a better game with bug fixing? I like that new layers keep being added as you progress. However, the element of aggression I could have done without (player vs player, where random people can attack your city).

Hands down the best strategy game. Forge of Empires is my official favorite strategy game ever. I’d like to make some points before you start playing this game. In reviews I’ve seen, people deem that you must spend money to get far in this game. Not true whatsoever. You can easily progress through FOE without spending a dime. This game takes a lot of patience and learning. If you don’t have patience or don’t want to learn a new game, I wouldn’t advice playing. The events are awesome and unique. I don’t think I’ve ever played a strategy game with events as awesome as the ones FOE provides. Forge of empires never gets boring either. You can sit and play for 3 hours whistle constantly finding something to do in the game. Just because you have to wait for your production building to complete, doesn’t mean you have to hop off the game and wait. You can sit there and do a bunch of stuff. The Forge Point System (hated by many) eventually works for you considering you’ll produce a bunch of forge points. I’m in love with how you can grind for forge points in this game. It adds an extra thing to do ;) Even building a city becomes a challenge in this game! You’ll see what I mean when you progress. If you have patience and are willing to learn a new game, I’d strongly suggest playing Forge of Empires.

Facebook Problem. You need to remove the ability to link to Facebook or make it so if players who do it that it truly does create a real account. Jumping threw hoops to fix a game when I am a new player only for months to end up with a glitched game even you can’t fix was not a fun experience. I ended up giving up after five months even though I loved the game because you kept finding a new problem each time and you were never even able to register my account when you tried several times. Each time I was asked the same questions and I answered the same. No support could fix my account but many tried. Removed game since it is broken. Why play a broken account even the developer can’t fix. Update to your response: It is not worth contacting support again they said it can’t be fixed and stoped responding a few days ago. If I knew in the beginning of April of 2019 what I know now I could have just just made a new game and not wasted my money on the broken one when I first joined. Customer support is horrible and all I want to do is help fix this amazing game I fell in love with.

Good, but room for improvement. Games fun, and keeps you interested for a while, but of course spending money is the easiest way to get anything done. Would be better if the marketplace wasn’t so difficult to maneuver around or getting a fair trade for goods was easier. You always have to give 10 of one good to get 1 of another, or you have to spend forge points for an even trade. Also coins and supplies become meaningless after a while because you collect then way quicker than you can spend them. There’s just not enough to spend them on, or you haven’t expanded enough to build anything new because you can only buy a few expansions with coins. Overall, if you’re going for a free simulation city building game, I had a lot more fun for a longer amount of time with SimCity. Even though you might still have to spend a couple dollars, it’s a lot more fun and interactive. FOE is good but could be a lot better.

Difficult to PvP in this game. Why have players spend an entire 1-2 weeks researching and researching different features that they may never use just to unlock the ability to battle other players?.. and then when they finally do unlock the ability to do so they still can’t battle other players because all the players in their same age of time “Have not unlocked PvP capability yet”? I was LITERALLY the only player out of 82 that had PvP capabilities after religiously playing for 2 straight weeks just to unlock this feature and I still can’t use it. I SEE WHY THIS GAME HAS SO MANY INACTIVE ACCOUNTS. You can’t advance even after completing a ton of boring quests and sinceless research and furthermore can’t be interact with players (battle). At least add a feature where if you’ve unlocke PvP capabilities you can find other players with the same capabilities. It’s a huge headache.

Ruthless management. My game name is Sultan Sharif. I played this game 1st time 7 years ago just for 1month . Last year I was feeling very lonely so I started playing with only one city. I made new new friends and played super active and build my city.. on playing this game I totally forget there are rules. I hear some people have too much money they buy people account. I never sell my account but as a joke I wrote my account is for sale in my profile. The FOE management bann my account permanently. I send them text after text said I am sorry.. the game is link with my main Facebook I’d and mail Apple profile there is no way I am going to sell it. It’s just a joke. They are so hurtless keep on saying me no after no.. I am still trying to get my city back. I worked so hard over an year to build my city. Loseing it very painful and barbaric.. I really loved this game. I will tell others who ever going to start playing this game please read rules properly and don’t try to do anything stupid act like me. Game management people are not forgiving minded people they will take your city away.. I played a lot of games made a lot of friends in past. All game at least give me a warning for any kind of offense but this is the first time I saw game who took away your city without any warning. Take care FOE. You let people keep 1000 fake accounts and fake city but don’t let a real player to play his game.. I hope you guys have a good future become so ruthlessly like this..

Good but the wait though makes the game boring. Well it’s what you expect from a free app game. The game is just a point and wait game seriously it takes so long just to build a house even in the Bronze Age. Don’t get me started on the happiness gimmick I mean you already waste enough money and supplies on houses, supply buildings, and good buildings and how about just waste it on culture buildings and decorations. I mean I get but like I said before you already waste your money on houses and supply buildings. What I hate the most is forge points I mean why is the maximum limit 10 I mean I looked in different ages and it takes hundreds of forge points. Yeah you can buy them but whenever you buy a forge point but it gets more expensive when you buy them. Why does it take an hour just to one, there just should have been no forge points. In conclusion Forge of Empires is a good game but there cultural buildings should have been to increase supply buildings more and it should have applied to good buildings too.

No stars for this app. The game is fun, although slow to make progress. The fatal flaw is an absence of customer support. The company's server crashed and deleted my account. Customer Support responded one time to my ticket request, but then would not reply further or correct their problem, causing me to send them this final email: "Your support is awful. I have been trying to contact you for five days to follow up on our prior email, but you will not even give me the courtesy of a reply. You have not even responded with the status of my service ticket. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. You force me, therefore, to delete your product, no longer do any business with your company and post a negative review of your game. You caused me to waste my time and some money. Your business model will fail with this lack of customer service." ——————— See “Developer Response” at bottom of this and my reply immediately below: “I have not closed my request. In fact, I have written approximately five or six emails to innoGames Support regarding this ticket and referencing the ticket number each time, and NONE of those were responded to by innoGames’ Support team. No, neither you or innoGames have given me a reason to update my review. Nothing has changed.” ____________________ After several exchanges of notes and over a week, the problem was resolved to my ultimate satisfaction. Thank you to InnoGames.

Split the time!. This is basically a point/click/waiting game. It does teach you patience, I think. But it is annoying you need to wait for a while. 8 hours is a long time just to produce coins. You can collect it only two times in just one day. That's not a lot. Two Days is just a frustration.😴. Some or Most people like me don't have that kind of time. I mean seriously. One day is still not a good option. 4 hours for one single good!?!? (Not including bonuses) Really?!? I mind just exploded. 🤯. For bonuses that will be worth it though. Although I think 30= 1 day. 20= 10-12. (Can't tell). The rest are fine for bonuses. Anyway. Training troops also take kinda forever. Just one troop! Wow... You should split the time in half for like all of the wait times in the game. (Building not included, I'm fine with the building) Aid takes forever. I'm impatient when it comes to aid. Like seriously. 24hrs?!?! Not really worth he wait. 8 hrs is a pretty good one for Aid. I agree on some of the wait times like the Town Hall. 24hr is good to me but I'm not not for other people. Forge of Empires wait time should be split in half or lower, which basically with all the current wait time you will feel like your not even playing the game. Other than that, FOE is a good game. Just split the wait time into two or lower. Thank you for reading my review on his game!

Was fun, now a complete pay to play money grab. I had loved this game for quite some time. Not going to talk about the good, you can see it in other reviews. This game has slowly been turing into a money grab. Things that used to be part of the game got put behind an ad wall… and starting with the 2022 Christmas event, buildings you get as rewards from events became extremely hard to get without devoting all your free time (and more in my case) to event mini games. But, you can spend $15 every month to basically buy it and put in minimal effort. Gems were the former in-game currency you could buy with real money or obtain from other methods in small amounts over time. They made them harder to get (lowered % chance for reward across multiple aspects of the game) and you can’t use them to get those great event buildings I mentioned before. I’ve seen other games go down this route and that’s when I quit. Don’t start this game unless you plan to spend money. It’s fun and addicting, but not worth it any more in my opinion.

Amazing game!!. All of these people on here complaining about it being slow or too hard. Why don't you go find a game you can fly through and stop trying to get them to ruin a great game. I've been playing it for months. It's challenging, has a lot of things to spend your time on, not to mention it's a blast to strategize what to do and what not to do with your city or what to spend your forge points on. I personally love that there are things like the great buildings that are next to impossible to get. It makes it hard and I like it that way. Oh and about it being expensive or having to spend diamonds. I call BS I haven't spent diamonds since the ones you get at the beginning of the game and I am all the way to the colonial age and working towards my 3rd great building. Please don't listen to the idiots that want the game nerfed. It's the reason amazing games like WOW have been ruined.

Meh. I’ve been playing for about 4 years and in the beginning it was pretty good. I used to play Evony age 2 for about 10 years and loved it and I decided to play this game when Evony was no longer able to use Flash. FOE has gone downhill over the past year at least. The events leave a lot to be desired and some of the rewards for completing a quest can be taken directly from the build menu and you would think that maybe they would make the building take no time at all or take no resources or coins. It still cost’s the same amount of time, coins and resources. I stopped playing the events this last year because they were getting terrible. I have made comment before and Whoever is monitoring the message feeds says that they will look into it and then it remains just like it was. I’m not even going to talk about the fragments but that has also got ridiculous. Make the game something that will have some more interesting rewards and maybe more people will play and spend money.

Love Forge of Empires!. The game has such flexibility and variety that every person on earth can have fun and find it interesting! The game has fighting and battles, building cities, collecting, building communities, making friends, exciting times, and calm times. Guilds can be fast paced and exciting or different guilds are laid back and calm. Some guilds have a lot of structure and rules, other guilds have no structure and no rules. Some guilds are big, some are small. Some people choose to pay real money and build faster, while others choose to play for years and spend little if any real money. And going through the ages is fun and educating. Young people playing FoE are not realizing they are getting a bit of general history education in their game playing. Have greatly enjoyed and been playing for 5 years and look forward to the next 5 years.

Pretty neat game.. I’ve only been playing for about 24 hours or so. I’ll update after a week or so of playing but so far. I’m enjoying this game. Don’t look at it as a pay to win bc honestly, what mobile games aren’t? Just sit back and relax, and enjoy the ride. It’s normal when it comes to the building but still different than Clash of Clans or other base simulator games. I like that you can actually strategize battles and it’s even on a honeycomb battlefield! I personally enjoy honeycomb battlefields and happy to see this game has it. Think Fire Emblem. And if you haven’t played Fire Emblem, you’re missing out. Especially if you don’t at least give this game a try. I’m looking forward to progressing through the ages regardless of the time it may take and even considering becoming a volunteer for them. With that said, hope you give this game a try with an open mind and patience.

Welcoming, innovative and strategic.. Love love love this game!!! Almost at a year now and might I say everything you could love in an active, thought provoking game is all wrapped up in one app. Guilds are very friendly and supportive, plus the new guild vs guild battlefield is very intriguing. I throughly enjoy playing this game, it is consistent and precise which keeps me in check with time management and other useful life skills. This game provides helpful techniques to form strategic thoughts to achieve accuracy through negotiations and battles. Creative way to keep the mind active and focused while also allowing room for major advancement with the help of diamond and fp purchases. Once you get the hang of it, you’re hooked!! It is worth the time and effort put into it, I wish there were more games like this but so far FOE is the only one of its kind. Download it, you won’t regret!!!

Love the game but.... I got this Game three weeks ago and I loved it! I got to build my empire, Journey trough time, and go into war with other provinces. Today when I got to the Iron Age I was really excited 😆. I was going to unlock roof tile houses but then I noticed something, When I had enough materials the game crashed. Not only that but when I got back into the game I had nothing. No coins, No materials, No nothing. So when I started over collecting money and materials for the house, Then when I harvested cabbage from the fruit farm, it wasn’t adding to my bar. It stayed at 0. It also happens when the buildings give off their rent. The money isn’t adding to my bar either. I Would like you let you guys now to fix those bugs. Besides that the game is awesome!! I will keep this game because maybe There will be a change. Also for myself (and my opinion) I think I’ve gotten really far. Thanks! Like the game a lot 😎

Time = $. This is a great game. Easy to understand, develop strategy, solo or guild play, you can make your way through the ages with ease. The basic components of farming and combat mixed with resources is par for the course. The interesting add to this game is the notable persons we all know through our ages, like Gandhi, Marilyn Monroe, DaVinci, etc... There are quests to complete to attain an avitar and rewards along the way. I'd say good for social, educational, strategic minds. The fundamentals are there for competitive drive as well. I'm down to blaze and play this game in tandem with others that I am fond of. You can spend money to develop your community faster, but it's not required. Kudos to the development team. You have a great gem here. The music is cool sometimes...but does have some much needed room to improve. Also, I feel more opportunities to win diamonds/rare buildings would inspire me to invest more time on the game....talking: giveaways. Bravo!

Great game BUT!. I love this game but as I’m progressing through it the main issue I’m seeing which is making me not want to play they game anymore is how limited the space is in your city. I would imagine that as I conquer lands the land I’m able to build on should increase. Not just talking about being able to buy squares of land but I’m talking about an increase of maximum capacity. Basically I want to be able to make my dream city. Which would include every building possible in the game and some extra space to be able to arrange it anyway I want. The space restriction really doesn’t let you build the city you want. That’s what I liked most about the game and no it’s what I hate most about it. Basically what I’m saying is when I’m a maxes or player my city should be able to fit every singe building in the game plus some extra space to organize it how the player wants please make it happen .

Fun to play. I have played for months now. I have a sweet city and pvp all the time. I haven't spent a dime on the game and I have over 4k diamonds to spend if needed. People are whiners. This game is a lot of fun whether you want to build your city, fight others or chat. They have regular special events to get special buildings for questing. I only installed it to get a freebie on another game. That game was deleted months ago and I still play this. Joining a guild is easy and super beneficial. Try it. You will get hooked. P.S. People who think you must buy diamonds to play are not giving the game a chance and should probably find a different game. Maybe one with no challenge or strategy. People who spend diamonds will still get beat up by higher players because they are newbs. Slow down and develop your city and you won’t get attacked successfully as often. Ignore the trolls saying you have to pay to play. Try it for a week and find out for yourself.

Get it fixed. - pass the buck - review worse. Not better.. Below is the first time I reviewed FoE. These are my changes in 19 hours. Forge of Empires just wants to pass the buck. Unfortunately, it’s my buck they’re passing. I’m pretty sure that the FoE customer support believes it is a perfect game. How come MY MONEY is pending payment to Apple in MY bank? How come the payments I made to FoE is pending in Apple? How come FoE screenshot says ‘purchase successful” but I never get my purchases anymore? At least during the special events. I purchased this morning just fine. Got my purchase too. What changed? My bank holds the money in pending either till it clears or 7 days, whichever comes first. My theory? Something is wrong in the State of Forge of Empires. Every time I PURCHASE diamonds I never get them. Along with the special that goes with it. This is like the fourth help ticket I’ve opened. It’s ridiculous. I get to 1. Check my bank 2. Log in here 3. Log in there 4. Get half of my purchase. Always without the special. This doesn’t happen on any other game. I get what I buy. And the thing is, there is no sorry this happened. There is no sorry that I have to go back in and ask for the rest of my purchase. This didn’t happen a year ago when I started playing. It’s only been about the last little while. Might be time to find a new game.

Long term strategy game. This is kind of an odd game. Despite what some of the one and two star reviews say you do not have to buy diamonds to play. As a matter of fact the game is more fun if you don’t. But (and this is a big but) you have to be an incredibly patient player. This is not the kind of game you can beat in 36 hours and then move to the next game on your list, as a matter of fact this game technically has no end. I have been playing it for over a year and I am still in the Late Middle Ages. This is the ultimate strategy game. It is also a community game which is usually not my thing. I am not usually a big fan of group games but I like this because I build my own world but belong to a “guild” and yes some of them do have rules that change over time and many will kick you out if you don’t abide by them. So find a guild that suits your playing style and play along because this actually is a fun game once you figure out you don’t need to buy diamonds to have a good time

What is going on with the game?. It seems like ever since there was an update this last time, the game doesn’t want to load, and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection since I can play my other games with NO issues, only this one is giving me trouble now. I have shops trying to produce but I can get to hem before I’m raided and lose what I’m trying to produce...for over an hour I’ve been waiting for the game to load...all I see are animated leaves falling on the screen, but NO game, so I finally had to give up...is someone going to fix this and how can I get my goods back?! It’s been a couple of days now since I first wrote this post, and I’m back because I’m still having issues...I’m trying to do one of them challenges to earn military people from my current timeframe...snipers, etc., but I can’t even get back into my game. I can access my other games, it not this one, and I’ve rebooted twice and still nothing....is someone working on this issue??

Been Playing every Day for 3 Years Straight — AWESOME SAUCE GAME!😎. Have a great time every time I play! 😃. It’s so mentally relaxing. I feel like a lot of games are rigged too much with drones that are unfair and no one can compete with and you have to spend too many diamonds to keep up. But this game feels more authentic. Like the players are all on more of an equal ground just by the nature of the way the game is set up. It requires teamwork in guilds and on 1.9 threads. It’s simplistic in nature. Easygoing. Helps just relax the mind. But still requires thought and strategy as well. Which I really like. Also, it changes often as you change your city and that keeps it quite fun too! 😃. I especially personally enjoy the st. Patrick’s day event!! I wish they had one more event similar to that one. 😏🤔 it’s stimulating! 🤩. Hope you give it a try and get a good guild and meet genuinely good people, as I have. 😊😎

Not recommended, they don’t have bandwidth or game locks up. There is something wrong with a game that is fun but every other week you are frustrated because the game won’t load. You send in support it takes a day or longer to get it fix only to repeat the frustration. I don’t know if it is a bug, bandwidth , the new update or traffic. Cannot recommend due to the wasted time trying to get back on the game. Time waster. Shut the iPad down and rest. Signed and on and now it is frozen won’t load game. Need someone to go over and cause it to hiccup to start loading already bee 30 plus minutes and still not, loading game Not recommended at this point. It took support a day to fix or get back with me, On the first issue and still don’t have answer to the issue of not loading.

Good but constantly lags. I’ve been playing this game for a couple of years and am in the artic future. I could have got here faster if I paid but to date, I haven’t spent a dime. I would leave it 5 stars but over the past several months, the game has been lagging. It’s not my connection as all my other apps are fine. Examples of lagging: you attack the opponent in battle and wait between 30-60 seconds for the game to register. Another example: when collecting coins and supplies, I can collect everything from my buildings and then wait for another 15-20 seconds before it catches up. I keep getting the spinning wheel as everything catches up and it really slows gameplay and destroys the user experience. It would be 5 stars otherwise. Update Apr 5, 2020: game is still slow and it feels slower than it was. Now it’s crashing at least one a day. I’m the Egypt world, I battle and then it crashes. In my city, it still takes almost a minute to catch up from collecting supplies and coins. It’s super frustrating. This happens regardless of being on WiFi or cell data. My other games/apps are fine, it’s just Forge of Empires.

Completely free. I have played the game for over 2 years and I have never spent even a single penny. I don’t know why there is so much whiney feedback, except to say that these people obviously were too lazy to learn a complex game structure. Play is significantly enhanced by joining an active, experienced guild, and by building Great Buildings (GBs). GBs provide a wealth of different resources, as well as boosts to various rewards provided in the game. They also provide for relics that drop a variety of rewards in the Guild Expedition area of the game. These rewards often include diamonds in various denominations up to 50 at a time. It’s obvious that the whiners have not advanced far enough to take advantage of this resource. Keep at the game. Join a good guild. This game is complex enough to hold your interest and is social enough to keep you coming back. Don’t stay in a quiet, dead end guild.

Great Game! Come join the fun!. No game is perfect, but I believe this game deserves the highest ratting. No other game offers so much for little or no money! I am in a guild I love, play every day, and although I sometimes buy diamonds, the in game currency, I do so more to support the game than out of necessity. It’s a social game if you, like me, like it to be but you can forge your own path if you like that. It’s easy to get started, but you never stop learning. The great part is there are always fellow players that are willing to help. And one of the biggest reasons to love this game is great communication. Not I only because Inno games keeps in touch with their playing community, but because the listen. If I could only play one game on my mobile device, it would be this one. Thanks Inno for such a great game!

Thoughts. I have been pondering thoughts that may improve the game. I hope you it may help. I was thinking on how to improve the GE quality. I've been reading and the forum says our goal for Expeditions is to protect our territory in our land and expand our territory. Well why don't you guys do that. Every time a guild gets 1st place you should award them with land but they can only get 1st like 15 times (Don't want to make it to easy to get land), 2nd place winners gets goods from other guilds who lost below 5th place, 3rd place winners will receive an army legionnaire from their period, 4th place winners get supplies and 5th place winners get a nice pat on the back by getting gold. I know the places are only up to three but I think there should really be five. There are other ideas but I think this is a major one to discuss and if u can, may u make it so players maay have a 90 degree turning ratio for their buildings. Thanx 😋

Interesting Game...But Enjoyable. I enjoy the game to advance critical think in balances finances and sacrifices, and just get away for the drudgeries of the working day to manufacturer a virtual world! There are a few areas that might be enhancements. 1) Incentives to visit my Tavern (Happy Hour) 2) The ability to advance technology faster in any given age, such as genius or mad scientist to help advance your game during the particular era 3) More variety in avatars that advance as you advance in your game 4) The price of certain tools, such as Forge Points, increase much to fast for the era in which you are working. 5) A more interactive function allowing one to barter goods and services. Not seeing the benefit of polishing, while being paid by those that are polishing. 6) Would like more control of Empire Defenses...cannot discern what level of defenses are in place, especially after you fortify you city that would PVP to continuously breach. Frustrating in not understand how that can be prevented even though there is very little discernible damage, aside for looting. 7) Would like a countdown clock on the delivery of goods from your Great Building. 8) Tavern Occupancy Meter tends to stall or become stuck 9) Medals continue to be a mystery in terms of count needed for expansion 10) Would prefer to pay for in-Apps purchases using gift cards or via a separate Games Store, when possible! Otherwise, still a fan of the Game!

Learning and fun!. While as a teacher I admit this game can be used as a teaching tool, Forge of Empires is just plain fun! Even though part of the game is to wage war and conquer territories, the violence is not on the screen but takes place behind the scenes. I haven’t had this much fun since Age of Empires. My two adult sons would have enjoyed this as teenagers. In my experience, everyone is decently polite, and sometimes we have chuckles together. Getting everything in one’s city to work in synchrony; to build buildings; to conquer territories; and to gain goods, products and money is a challenge but enormous fun. I highly recommend this game for teenagers, adults, and seniors like me. If the programming is glitchy, I have never noticed it. As far as I can tell, the app works beautifully. The developers make continual upgrades making a great experience even better.

PAYWALL ALERT. I finally decided to be patient with this game seeing as how it actually takes time and lots of patience to build your own little empire. Don’t get me wrong, it’s really fun and surprisingly social. Other players are helpful and there are some okay benefits from helping others; the biggest being willful reciprocation from other players. However, after almost two months, I have advanced my empire to the Early Middle Ages where I have noticed a huge paywall at the BEGINNING of the research tree. I have never seen such a blatant paywall after spending so much time on a mobile game where most of my playtime was fair and free. I don’t plan on buying diamonds (premium currency), so I’d either have to farm them through expeditions or occurrences, which barely give you more than 10 diamonds each and rarely drop them, or quit playing to avoid wasting more time on a paywall that’s gonna hold me back from advancing a substantial part of the game. If you were gonna hit players with a paywall, do it sooner. This review was supposed to be four stars, but that paywall frustrated me entirely.

I like it alright ... UNTIL. I have been playing and rather enjoying the game for several months now, and have admittedly spent way more money than I had ever intended. Suddenly bout 2-3 weeks ago I started having problems making in app purchases. When I go to buy an army pack, it goes through I tunes ok, but I don’t get my army. The first time I had to go through customer support and prove I made the purchase through iTunes before they would give me my army. It was a real hassle and took several days to sort out. It did it to me again this week. Paid the $ and still no army. So now, I am getting plundered every time I turn around and am unable to complete quests because it requires me to win battles and so on. Every time I try to restore purchases, the game locks up. Now I can’t even get into the customer support section to get it resolved again because it too locks up. Giving real thought to deleting the game and quit playing. It’s a hard decision to make, as I have so much time and $ invested.
