Great app for RV'ers. I use it with an iPad air2 so the big screen is easy to see while on the road. Being able to plan the entire route with stops and layovers is a huge help. And if you change your plans it is easy to update the route with the new information. Keeps you updated with mileage and time to waypoint as well as traffic and construction. Using the included filters allow you to customize the route to your vehicle or liking. If you're a road warrior you need this app. Works better on the larger screen of a tablet but a large phone will also work, just have your copilot use it.

Great Work Route planning App. I needed an app that I could import an xcell spreadsheet into then have it route it automatically. It also integrates with Waze, supposedly, however I can’t seem to figure how that works. All in all this app is by far the best app for trip planning with multiple stops. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the 100 limit on the importing. I wish it would do up to 200 or more. Also the Waze connection is hard to figure out. But I run Waze on my other cell phone at the same time. So it’s not that big a deal.

extremely useful. I decided to try this app instead of buying a new GPS. I am a Pilot Escort for oversize loads and we can only go where the state permit allows. I have used this for a year now and I always use it, all the pilot cars I personally know that have iphones, use this app to help us do our job. I like how easy it is to put in my routes, it’s easy to use. I haven’t had any glitches with it. The only thing I might like to see added is something like competitors have where you can mark hazards on the road, cars on the shoulder, construction zones, cops, etc. Hopefully if you do it will be user friendly unlike another competitor. I recommend this app to everyone.

Planning Motorcycle Rides. Have been looking for a Route Planner, this works pretty well. Took some time to become familiar with the features, I use it for Motorcycle rides and its been fun planning out the Routes. After mapping out the trips, they can be titled and saved and can be shared. The app allows you to map out a desired route using what they call waypoints, the only problems I have found is, if you're not careful where you drop the way points, it will direct you off route, once you pass that way point, the app tries to redirect you back to that point . Would be cool if there were a skip button that directed you to the next waypoint on your programmed Route allowing you to continue the trip with out confusion, other than that, as I said before, it works Pretty well. 2/18 update Apparently they listen well, there is a skip button if you want to proceed past a waypoint..cool! Now I wish there were a version for a desk top, if I could map out a route on my IMac and transfer the route to my phone or a flash drive, that would be awesome, Great updates so far, loving the app!!

RV Trip Planner. It is our go-to app for any long trip. - Our seasonal RV travel includes traversing passes over the continental divide sometimes leading us into snowfall. With inRoute's weather, winds, and elevation reports based on the date and time of departure, we can reroute geographically or by schedule. - We also use this app anytime we go on long road trips from state-to-state in the Northwest using our regular vehicle. Oh and we absolutely love that we can on places on our route. and save the route for another trip. *** Thank you for keeping this app up-to-date. ***

Versatile and practical. I have been using the app with all its in-app add ons and could not be more pleased. I ride a 2014 Harley Ultra Limited with the built in gps. I have pre-planned coast to coast rides for groups and being able to calculate stop durations and overnight stays makes planning "kick stands up" a breeze. I can also import the daily routes right into the Harley NAV. But here is what is really cool. I have stopped and re-routed my own personal rides to avoid storms. I plan the route in InRoute with waypoints to direct the path, export the route from my iPhone to a flash drive through the lighting port, and then import the route to the Harley NAV and I am on the road. This can easily be done in a rest area or a local cafe or gas station just using your phone. That is convenient!

We wanted to love this!. We used this app to drive from PA to Florida with our camper. They way down was okay but often it would think we were not on the road and would randomly recalculate during our drive in 95. It did it’s job avoiding tunnels and restrictions so we decided to pay the subscription and use it on the way home. The way home was a nightmare! It kept telling us to go on the expressway in Virginia (trucks and trailers aren’t even allowed on there and it is expensive!) and then told us to keep left, only to tell us to exit right from the lanes that kept to the right. We are frustrated, cancelling our sub, and going to use a different navigation app instead.

New feature request. I love the app. This summer I have used it for the planning and execution of an extended RV vacation covering camping at some 30 state parks in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. I've also used it to keep track of scores of sightseeing points. One feature I'd like to see in the app would be a calendar that illustrates the dates that I reach my route's points. You already allow me to designate the starting date for my trip and because I can designate the number of full layover days, the app can calculate when I will arrive and leave a place. If I could only view all that information in a calendar I could better visualize my entire trip. If I like what I saw in the calendar within the app, I would then like to be able to export the dates into my Apple calendar so that I could share it with others.

My Favorite App - Since 2014. I'm a long distance motorcycle rider and love taking the back, winding road. I also run a large sport touring motorcycle group and plan very complex rally routes in the Smokey Mountains. I've tried out so many route apps and have paid for all of them. InRoute stands out far ahead of all others. It's not even a contest. Many other apps depend on a computer based application where you can view a route on the app. Some focus on uploading to a GPS, but few, if any, do it all on your phone or tablet. Those that can display a route rarely provide spoken turn by turn directions and none provides the ability to find gas stations along the route at 200 mile intervals and hotels ever 8 hours of driving, while adding layovers and stops at designated points. But where all others fall down is editing a given route on the fly from your phone. One more point of interest. Data is needed when you start a route. If you ride into areas where there is zero data access, you will always see your designated route and spoken turn by turn directions will always take you on your planned route. All in all, there is no better route planner - period. Faithful InRoute user since 2014.

New RV planning details. Always a big fan of InRoute (and if you have ApplePlay in your vehicle the integration is very smooth). I bought a lifetime subscription years ago and loved it. But now that they’ve added RV planning (for specific details of the size/weight of your rig, LP, etc.) the $40 annual subscription fee may seem steep at first, but having tested it out on a trip I know with multiple restrictions for my camper, that price is worth one avoidance of a low bridge or LP tunnel fine. It routed it EXACTLY as I would have without needing any “way points” to redirect the route. Very excited about this new capability on top of any already terrific planning app!

I wish it worked for cyclists. This app is remarkable because of its ability to import AND export GPX files in iOS. As a cyclist, I use these to import them to my head unit, which is a gps unit (I use the wahoo ELEMNT bolt) that can then provide turn by turn directions, which is great for 30 + mile rides in unfamiliar territory. The unit also records power, speed, heart rate, pedal cadence and so on. So this app seemed like the perfect companion for that--because google has great cycling directions, but no waypoints and therefore no GPX export. Unfortunately, the app was thrown by my attempts to use a bike path that stretches for miles through a state park--and routed me out and back around the park to the other side via roadways. Such a bummer, because it is such a great app. Maybe the developer could add a feature to force connect two waypoints? Or add more off road info? I do appreciate the free trial--and would gladly pay for it if it was more cyclist friendly.

This is the one. You might struggle learning this app in the beginning but once you learn the details...YOU WILL REALLY LIKE THIS APP....I take long 10 day rides on my motorcycle and this app has not let me down. I downloaded the app on my MAC and can build them on my desktop and since it’s on the web, the app is updated right away. And vice versa...easily build routes on my phone and it loads to desktop. I use Goggle Maps to look for finer details and to see road conditions and then build routes here. Only Navigation app I use. Love it!!

The best routing app out there!. Like many other motorcyclists, I have looked for and tried many map routing programs and apps. But none compare to the succwss I have had using inRoute. The fact that I can design my own back roads route is worth a lot, since I stay off Interstates whenever possible. Most other apps force you to map out the shorest and/or fastest route, which is usually not my objectvei at all. Add to that the funcaitonality that this app connects with my iPhone and iPad at the same time, allowing me to develop the route on iPad with the larger screen and then use that route via bliue tooth from my iPhone to my headset while ion the road makes this app totally usable and functional for the serious rider. Topping it all off is the quick responsiviness of the Help desk when you have a question. They helped me understand the various commands and functions in a short period of time and ocntinue to support me long after the app was purchased. I've actually talked with the developer himself! I would give this app 10 stars if allowed!

Great Route Planning Tool. I started using inRoute a year ago when I routed and rode a motorcycle on a 17 day, 6,000 mile ride. At the time I purchased the lower pin drop app (25), which was enough. Now, I upgraded my purchase to give me 150 pin drops, because I’m planning two rides. I’ve got both loaded and ready to go, complete with gas, lunch and hotel stops. The first trip is a 5,200 mile ride and later this year a 6,200 mile ride. There was a glitch in finding gas stations and hotels along the route two weeks ago. Rob with customer service (via email) was very prompt to reply and discovered it was an Apple issue with Apple Maps, which I guess is the base of what inRoute is built on. Rob stayed with it, stayed in communication and offered suggestions while we were waiting for Apple to fix their problem, which they finally did. Thanks Rob for staying with it and for your very prompt attention and replies, even late at night. Bottomline, I highly recommend the inRoute app.

Free Version Useless With No Weather At All. I must be missing something? Why would one use the free app with nothing offered that one doesn’t get in planning a trip in Apple or Google Maps. **UPDATE** The developer is attentive & responsive and replied below. I’ll try the Trial subscription route but I’m not a big fan as that puts the onus on the trial user to remember to cancel the subscriptions different apps’ trials may have setup. But still appreciate an attentive developer. Will change star rating once I’ve successfully trialed and either paid or cancelled. **UPDATE** VERY attentive developer. VERY real world use based thinking. Great tools find spots along route eg gas every 200 miles. Changed to 4-stars. I still find the weather graph at the bottom much less useful than DriveWeather’s overlay right on the route line, plus changing start time is very tedious if exploring options on best time/day to leave with least rain (DW great UI for that). The developer explained their limitations but understood my use case above and saw the value. So, can’t give 5-stars but solid 4-star app. I trialed but didn’t cancel yet. It’s $40 per year vs DW’s $10 is a reason I will likely only get it for the months I am planning a long drive. Dev should consider better lower pricing.

IMPROVED Full Featured Trip Planner. I've upped this app to 5 stars based upon the last round of improvements. The added utility of colored pins is GREAT! Using the search map feature, I've pinned Nat'l Parks brown, hot springs magneta, etc.... Now on our long camping journeys, we have our places of interest at a glance to tempt us into detours. This planner has almost every feature that I've been seeking in an easy to use app. The weather and elevation plots will be very important to us as we tow our travel trailer in winter months. This will likely become my 'go to' app for our more complex trips with lots of detours and stopovers. Sent a note to the developer, got a quick response, and I look forward to enhancements. I'll give it 5 then!

Amazing tool for professionals. I run heavy haul support as a safety escort vehicle. I'm often in the lead of convoys several trucks and escort cars long weighing more than 125K lbs on each trailer. needless to say, my attention needs to stay squarely focused on the road and keeping other motorists safe. with inroute, I can pre-plan a unique route required for each individual job. once programmed, I can save it, rename it, and store it for later use, including ability to share over text, email, and all social media services. this app has already proven its worth in the few thousand miles i've had it. one feature I would like to see added in the future: ability to mark my location as the starting point, hit RECORD, allow the app to track and follow my movements in real time, and for me to set waypoints along the way. after i select a destination, Recording would stop and a new route would be shown on the map with the ability to edit and save. can't wait to see what new features are coming next, BUT THIS would be monumentally huge. thank you!

Best app I’ve found yet for oversize-load escort work. This app lets you set waypoints, making it easy to plot turn by turn routes according to the permits. It has become essential to my business, outperforming all the overpriced standalone gps systems I have seen. The only drawback that I encounter is that it’s based on Apple Maps, which unfortunately applies their minimalist aesthetic to the labeling of roads and highways, which becomes frustrating when you’re trying to find some obscure byway that’s on your permit.

Excellent tool for planning and safety….. I start every trip planning using this app. The environmental factors to me are as big as traffic warnings….avoiding winds has saved us many times out west. Totally changed our route several times as a result…also all the other factors that you can test your route against to avoid unnecessary risks. I do export to Apple, Waze or google as I find their navigation alerts in big metro areas about what lane to be in before a turn to be superior. I had a few instances where I abruptly had to either change lanes to make the next turn or have had to just drive by the turn and then turnaround…overall a really solid app for sure

Not for planning-disappoint. I downloaded this app hoping it would help me plan the best route for my 1600 mile road trip. What I need this app doesn’t offer. Specifically it doesn’t show you where the halfway mark is. I need to know these to help me plan for gas stations etc. Moving pins and changing pins is cumbersome and not at all easy. Basically this app helps people create a pretty map and that’s it. If you need help planning good luck cuz you’re on your own with an old paper fold out map or an Atlas. Most younger people will probably be lost because they have to know what a map and Atlas are ….. So I received a developers response saying I could do both these things….blah blah blah. The instructions to do the simple things I requested was so difficult and NOT AT ALL easy to execute or get desired results. I thought ease of use was the point of these apps? I’m a highly educated person and also have a lot of common sense….I’ve worked as a technology coordinator for 2 schools and I had a difficult time with this app. It has potential….but at this stage of the game it just doesnt help. Maybe it’s set up for Tech wizards only. I’m not one of those but I’m also not tech ignorant. Just a regular person who doesn’t like this app.

Now in CarPlay. I have enjoyed the ease and details on inRoute for a few years now. It was far superior over the other brands apps. Instead of using the built in Maps in my car, I would place my iPhone on the dash and use inRoute. It never lost track of where I was at, even if I went off route. I now have a 2019 suv and missed not being able to use inRoute on my CarPlay. Thank you inRoute Team for making CarPlay happen. I was very excited when I saw that CarPlay was available, that I went right out to my vehicle and tried it. I love how I can save my trip itinerary and share it with friends and family, so that they know where we will be and when. It is so easy to plan your trips, mine I do on my iPad, and change stops along the route. Plus it gives you suggestions for lodging, food, gas, and sites. You can check reviews of said locations. Thank you again inRoute for making my trips so easy and enjoyable.

Pretty decent app. I just used this for the first time for one of my routes. It did a decent job but lost the voice navigation halfway through which was highly disappointing. Also, the “destination order” was not that in intuitive but very linear so you need to decide where you would like to visit when there are neighboring sites within a handful of miles. Overall there are 3 stars but I would give it 10 if they would ensure the speech navigation is always working as well as post the current names of the input destinations as well as post the mph, traffic, hazards, posted police, etc... (like some of the other popular apps). I still recommend this app as I have not found another one yet that will populate a map of multiple stops.

Enables YOU to force the route YOU want to drive. I have used the Pro version now for three years. Like everything, it takes some getting used to in order to learn how to use it efficiently. I use it to drop pins along a particular route of my choosing as opposed to using other apps which automatically generate routes for you based on travel time or whatever considerations those other apps use. Once the route is planned by you, the app will give you audio directions (as well as a visual map). So, you can enjoy your drive while getting verbal directions to keep you on the route you planned and wanted to take in order to see whatever you want to see or drive whatever roads you chose. I find it is helpful to drop pins directly onto the map side of the road which you are planning to drive along as if you are “running over“ those pins along the route as you drive the route. I have also learned it can be helpful to place “extra“ pins around road intersections if you want to be sure you take an exact route because this takes away the app’s ability to choose particular routes/turns between any 2 pins you have dropped. The app works fine with iTunes playing and Waze running simultaneously. Happy motoring!

So simple! Must-Have Efficient Driving! Excellent support within 24 hours!!. I have this on my iPhone and iMac. I was easily able to plot all locations that I want to go to on map and then I decided I want to drive just to 13 locations in the middle of the whole map. I simply use the pencil tool and circle the areas on the map that I would like to create a new bookmark. it instantly moved those 13 locations that I circled into a new bookmark and I labeled it in central driving. I was easily able to change the color of the pins because I want central to all be green for example. you click your starting position through each pin and your ending position. The software instantly puts you on the quickest route! The support was incredible. All of my questions and suggestions were promptly answered within 24 hours. This kind of software is so difficult to find and I’m so happy I made the purchase as it will help drive the sales for my business :) Also awesome iCloud connection!

Great app. I purchased the enhanced version with 100 waypoint capability. I use the app on an IPAD (with larger screen) to locate good twisty roads for motorcycle rides. When I finish a route, the app shows the distance and time required to ride it. I can adjust the route to get a good ride time (for me-about 4 hours). I export the route to Dropbox as a .gpx file and import it onto the InRoute app on my IPHONE. I mount the IPHONE on my handlebars, connect my SENA Bluetooth and ride. The voice instructions work great. The IPHONE display is good enough to see the upcoming turns. For my Harley, I load the .gpx file on a thumb drive and upload it to the NAV system. Works well on the Harley if you remember to go into IPAD settings and set not to export unused pins. If you let the unused pins export, your Harley NAV system will take you home first then start the ride. When you start a new route 100 miles from home, that feature does not work out well. I share .gpx files back and forth with several friends who ride. We have built up quite a library for Tennessee.

Great App!. I just used this for a trip from southeast WI to Yellowstone with 12 stops and it was great! I was able to search and load campgrounds as waypoints with stay overs, fuel stops, and roadside rest areas. The map saved to my iCloud account so it was easy to build, review, or modify from any Apple device. I did have a couple of questions and when I contacted support during the day, responses were very quick! One addition that would be nice is to have routes avoiding low clearances. I verified against another free trucking app to be sure I was in the clear. I also inserted waypoints forcing a route change to a U.S. highway instead of a local road knowing the highway would be better. I tried other commonly known RV apps and none of them offered the information and most importantly, flexibility between my devices. Nice job, Carob Apps!

Best way to take your travel plans. By far, this is the best travel planning app to take with you on the road. Cool features like specifying what time you plan to leave each morning allows you to look at a long trip and see what dates you’ll be in a certain city. iCloud synchronization gives you the same info on all you devices. Export to another InRoute user a standard gpx file and all that info is included. Add non-route waypoints that give you a nice location map in a city you’re visiting without drawing the route through each point. Leg view of each segment tells you the distance to your next route point and how far you’ve driven from the start to get there. And easy to modify as you travel. Nice turn by turn driving directions. I even use it to points in a city just as a nav aide. Best tech support I’ve ever used. They don’t just answer you specific question, they are interested in you learning how to use the app to accomplish your needs.

I love this app!. I am a long haul truck driver and this week I picked up a load in Rhode Island going to Arizona. My company needs to know my ETA (estimated arrival time) to setup a delivery appointment. This is a 2,800 mile trip. It will take a few days to get there. I am only allowed to drive 11 hours a day per federal law. I have to stop for 10 hours before I can drive again. With all of that, I can plan my trip showing where I need to stop and shutdown each day and the amount of time I’m going to be there. At the end of all this planning… I can give my company an ETA that is accurate. With good planning and no unforeseen circumstances outside of my control, I am never late. To Carob Apps, LLC… T H A N K Y O U!!!!

Great App. This is the most efficient delivery route app on the market today. It has the most accurate map locations, and the most efficient route optimization for quicker deliveries. The only complaints I have is, there should be a way to add stops after you start the route, and a pause feature added would be nice. Other than that, it’s the best app I’ve used, and I’ve tried several! I’m a FedEx ground delivery driver, and it’s made my job a lot more efficient, and I get home to my family a lot faster!

Ideal road trip planner. I've been using this app for six years and love it. Of course it helps to keep track of time and distance, but also let’s you specify how long you layover for any waypoints you add (lunch or sightseeing) making it easy and accurate to know when you can expect to arrive at each evening's destination. One great feature is the ability to judge the curviness and elevation change of any “short-cut” route you are considering driving, to help avoid unpleasant experiences that looked quick and easy on a flat map.

Useful, easy to use, full featured. I use this to plan a variety of trips. Waypoints can be added, deleted and resorted to explore route options and see travel times. Being able to see temperature and wind predictions for the route helps plan my motorcycle trips. As they've made this app compatible with both iPads and iPhones it's easy to plan a route on the large screen of the iPad and then sync to the iPhone for route guidance which you can either use another app for or use their in-app voice guided navigation. This app is well thought out and they keep making improvements. I highly recommend it. My only complaint is with the in-app navigation. When using the app the map rotates awkwardly and once out of cell range the map disappears and you’re left with the route and a line grid. There needs to be a feature to download maps for off-line use.

Terrible new update. Been using this app for years with no problem as a courier. The latest update completely screwed me though. I have to hit twice as many buttons to look up a stop and the new upload contacts feature somehow interferes with my main search bar. I couldn’t find anything in settings to remove the contacts feature. It completely ruined me on my route today. I had to delete the whole app and start using another service. Update: still not thrilled with contacts feature but I’m very happy they fixed the bugs and responded to my review. I’m glad they take customer service seriously

Best routing app available. Best multi-day routing app available. iCloud lets you do phone, computer and tablet planning. I only use the phone to do the actual navigation. Also you can export to share gxp files with others even google maps or to your SATNAV devices. Workflow begins with searching for the destination, then searching for daily lodging stops at either a distance, time, or distance from a pin, then add in a search for fuel and meal stops. Choose a departure time. Done. Another neat feature is the charts of your route. Choose elevation, curviness, temperature, humidity, precipitation, or wind speed over time or distance. See what is expected along the route, including special weather statements. Amazing. Well worth the investment, just to spend some time dreaming up trips of what could be possible for your vacation.

SUPER impressed with routing capabilities. I haven’t used this to navigate yet but it’s been a dream come true for planning my Great American Road Trip. Excellent, flexible search capabilities, interval searches, ability to add layovers and customize the duration of them, customizable start dates, correctly integrated with my contacts without fuss for adding pins, everything is well thought-out and beautifully executed and a true pleasure to use. So refreshing after so many crappy apps recently! 100% recommend.

Needs Work. This app is indeed an awesome trip planner, but the navigation functionality is really lacking. I planned a 2980 mile, 9 stop trip, and when I tried to start navigating, it said "please move 10 feet to the starting pin", as if it couldn't adjust the starting point to my current location. That is totally unacceptable in a navigation program. It finally - some 30 miles down the road - started giving sporadic (as in 'infrequent') directions, then went to sleep again for another 50 miles to so. It is easier to read the turn instructions in the trip details window. I still use it as a trip planner, then keep it handy as a reference while I navigate each leg of the trip with one of the maps apps. Once they get the nav function sorted out, the app will be a traveler's dream.

Great Little Trip Planner.. I enjoy planning and riding motorcycle trips. Sometimes I plan the entire trip before I leave my home, but I also find myself planning (actually adjusting my plan) on the fly in the motel room where I happen to be, or even at a fuel/lunch/snack stop. This app works great for all situations as long as I have a cell or WiFi signal. It is very easy to use. An important feature for me is how easy it is to tailor my route by just dropping pins along the route I want to take versus the one the app comes up with. I highly recommend this useful app. Rhys

Love it and it drives me crazy!. This app is so awesome once you figure it out. Clutzy & confusing interface, but super powerful when you get past it. Haven’t used it for maybe a year, but when I needed it this week, omg, it was even more confusing! Yo folks who build this, great job with the underside, but the UI is a hot mess. So for buyers out there - it does everything it says it does. Would never do a road trip without it. Excellent functionality. But .... the user experience is often baffling, menus and hidden options can drive you to agony trying to repeat something you had done a few moments earlier. Deserves 10 out of 5 stars ⭐️. Only mark it down because of the frequent aggravation. Once you’re a pro @ it, everyone else seems like an idiot ....

Very useful on road trips. I have not found another app that is so useful, not just with routing, but really the ability to easily find and map to waypoints along your route. All too often, in most apps, like native maps, you have to end your current route just to do another, or you just can’t even search along the route you are already on. I think there are improvements that can still be made to this app, like weather does not always seems as accurate, and I’d love to see speed postings along my route, not too mention, searching while on a route is not possible, so you have to go back to full map view, but it’s still great that you can even search along route at all.

Almost perfect.. We’ve been learning to use InRoute as we take a several week vacation to pick up our trailer in South Carolina and then return to our home in MA. We agree with a previous reviewer that it takes some time to learn to use it, but the effort is worth it. We now can explore and plan potential routes, access those routes from our laptop and phones, and use them to navigate through ApplePlay in our truck as we go along. I’ve been impressed with the searching functions, and we’ve had fun doing things like search for parks for walking our dog, dog friendly hotels, and ice cream along the route. The only thing on our wish list that has not been satisfied by this app is that we wish it had the ability to prioritize scenic highways in the custom route options. Choosing curvy or less curvy roads helps with safety pulling our trailer, but it doesn’t get us onto the Blue Ridge Parkway, and tracing that tiny road and placing via pins along the way is tedious.

Good route planner buttttt……….. This is a totally helpful app when planning multiple stops , but there is a flaw. When I was adding stops, about 30 to my route , and I optimized my route I see that the route will take me out of an area where I need to make multiple stops , take me to an area where it should be listed as a last stop and re route me back to the original area where I need to complete my stops. It’s doesn’t make sense. I would rearrange the points and see you hat my née travel is actually less in time than the optimized route. This needs to be fixed. Also , when rearranging my way points , I have to get out of the map and rearrange the stops , I wish I can stay within the map and see my way points and rearrange them from the map view and not within the listed route view. I would like to see what stops I need to rearrange without going out of the map.

The very best I have found for motorcycle routing. This app is the best I have found routing to a specific address. The ability to enter an address and have it drop a pin on the route is priceless. Makes planning so much easier. Planning a bucket list trip to Sturgis 2019 for a small group, some camping and some in hotels. This app and google are the only tools I have needed, besides the phone to call, to get accommodations for both groups Following the route on the map I have found hotels along the way, googled those hotels, entered address for those in the search bar of the app and it has dropped a pin on that address. Same procedure for camp grounds, searching for campgrounds around hotels on google, entering that address and dropping a pin. Also from google you can get the phone number to make reservations. Information on tags for all pins can be changed to say anything you wish.

Not as good as it seems. I have been looking for a way to customize maps and routes fo awhile, specifically for motorcycle travel. I will create maps on google maps, save the maps to icloud and import the .kml with this app into its interface, thats where it starts do go downhill. Too many little isues to mention here but for a 3000 mile trip (891 miles there, 891 miles back and the remainder split into 5 different rides) I fought the app the entire time. You need to be able to pause navigation if you go off route...but if you do go off route..it cant seem to figure out where you are and even get you back to where you were going. I ended up finding a way to use google maps and sometimes iOS maps and ended up with a better experience, definately not worth a subscription in my opnion. too many things made it "not for me"

InRoute Rocks. I’ve used this program for quite a while now and have to say it is my go to for motorcycle routing. I’ve got a garmin on my motorcycle as well, but find route planning, especially on the fly, to be much easier with inRoute. Planning routes on my iPad and then using them to navigate with my iPhone while on the bike is ideal. The progress this app has made from the start is great, but there is room for improvement. I would like to see the controls onscreen bigger and more prominent while navigating a route. On the smaller screen of an iPhone it is sometimes difficult to see the information at a glance. An easier way to zoom out the route while riding would also be appreciated. Update to Review: Thanks for the reply on how to zoom in and out. I did not know that, but have now tried it and it works great! 5th star added 👍

Nice app. Love the flexibility of the interface. One concern. When planning a route in the future and a road happens to be closed now due to wether then the route planning failed. Customer service immediately returned an email with an explanation. Overriding a closed road is not possible even if the departure date is in the future. Otherwise the best route planning app available now. I tested them all. Would make travel planning a lot easier if layovers can be planned in overnight stops. Like layover in Lisbon for 2 nights and normally leave at 09:00. Then it will be easy to adjust the actual time left and see how that effects my further planning. Now I have to calculate the number of days and hours I am laying over and that is messy.

Louder? Really?. Excellent voice directions with plenty of warning about the next turn and way points. Almost too many. But in areas of sketchy reception, you aren’t caught with instructions that arrive too late (like Google Maps all the time. But… what happened to the PC version? I want to create on my desktop (where I can drag routes) and then post them to my iPhone. But I can’t find a Windows 10 version. And I just subscribed for the year. dammit. That said, this is much better than Google Maps, which always thinks it has a better (ie faster) route, and forces me to decline it (rather than defaulting to the user designated route). And it maintains connection and let’s me restart at any place along the route. I use this app all the time, when plotting new routes. The alternate routes have to be watched, so add plenty of way points to assure you get the route you want. I even use it when riddling on Forest Service roads, as long as I can get a signal. Load Gaia on your phone as the perfect companion app, when you’re riding in the woods it will keep track of where you are, even without cell service.

Most responsive Dev I’ve ever encountered!. Once again I’ve increased my ⭐️ rating because this Dev is simply the most responsive one I’ve ever come across. Not only did he take the time to contact me a second time and explain what I had obviously misunderstood about the difference between the app’s subscription service and one-time in-app upgrade purchase. He also he also explained why there are two levels and how they appeal to different users. I highly recommend this DEV no matter what app of his you may be using. And I will be looking at what else he has developed. Increased ⭐️ rating because Dev responded to my email inquiry literally within minutes. However I still feel verbal turn by turn navigation is a basic necessity & should be included in the Premium level subscription.

Didn’t quite work like it should. During the free trial period, I was able to test/use it for part of a drive to see how it worked. Basic Nav seemed fine. Once home and a couple days left on the free trial, I played with some routing to check out the features. This is where I found a problem. Set the settings for least curvy and least elevation ascent, and tried a route. It gets stuck, with the little wheel spinning as it is thinking, saying Calculating Elevation (tap to cancel). I waited a little, still thinking, so I tap to cancel but then the little thinking wheel returns and won’t calculate the route. Cancel the whole thing and try the route without curves and elevation, and the route pops right up. So try again with curves and elevation, and the problem happens again. I don’t think I want to spend the money for this subscription if an important feature doesn’t seem to work, and when there are other gps options out there.

Great For School Bus Drivers. I have been using this app for school bus routing. I especially like the satellite hybrid view of the map for spotting driveways and turn arounds. There could be some improvements to make it perfect; such as approaching addresses from the left always, and making turnarounds non-driveway only. If you are wondering why that is important, young riders need to get off at their driveway and not cross the street. Also, it would be nice to have your special notes show up as you approach the address. Other than those small things, it is a great app..

Just keeps getting better & better. The developer continues to enhance this app and it remains as the top navigation app in my opinion for more reasons than I will go into in this review. However, the latest addition to make it car play compatible sets it at the pinnacle of its competitors. Add to that the multiple waypoint routing, the ability to include food or lodging in your routes at intervals determined by every X miles or every X hours is truly the cornerstone of why this app has been my go to for over 4 years. Bravo to the developers!

Wonderful, but missing 2 key features.. Ive tried a bunch of route apps and this is the best of all the self-routing ones. Most of the others simply plan a route and hand it off to Maps or Google one by one, which to my mind is useless. This app lets me set up the route and go without worrying about losing signal at my more rural stops. Its keeps it all in app and remembers when Im offline. That said, there are two features that would be amazing. First and foremost, manifest scanning and address recognition. Streaightaway has this and is a huge time saver. I hate Straightaway but have to use it every day as I just don’t have time to manually input 80 stops into this on the dock. Second, the ability to check stops as completed. This is less an issue as you can use the handy select tool to delete finished groups of pins easily, but would be nice nonetheless. Love the app, hope y’all can add scanning. I’m using Straightaway every day and hate the dang thing with all it’s quirks. Being able to do that in this app would be a dream come true.

Best App. Best app for route Thanks

Great app. Exactly what I was looking for to plot routes with multiple waypoints, easy to use and works well. The only thing I'd like to see added is dynamic calculating of distance and time from current location.

Only one of its kind. This is the only app like this that I could find. Very well made and easy to use.

Better than the rest. Tried others but they were not as flexible as this one. Great that you can book mark trips and move pins around to suit.

I've been searching and searching ... This is Eden !. A absolutely wonderful app. Does everything and more for ease of my work ....

Waypoint routing!!. Worth it alone for that but also so much more 👍🏼

Saved me. So good

The way I like it :-). Does the job, just the way I like it. Thanks guys.

Best route planning app for iPad. I do a lot of long distance motorcycle riding - this app is accurate and easy to use for route planning. I usually go straight to this app rather than google maps. It would be awesomer if it had an off-line mode

Great App. Have been using this great app for some months now and it has been very useful for my work, which requires various stops with accurate times. This app helps me greatly

Just get it. Paid for the 20 pins and not looking back. Just gonna send it.

MrBMW. Stupid- too hard to use, complicated, not user friendly, gave up after trying to set a simple course from Brisbane to Birdsville after five minutes of trying

Just what I was looking for.. Seems to provide all the functions I have been looking for in a trip planner.

Once paid for, works very well for route planning. I have been able to develop a few alternative routes to discuss with family for our 10 day caravanning holiday in NSW. It has been a very useful app for this and appears to have created logical routes based on the start, waypoints and end. Thanks team.

Brilliant app. Brilliant app, best out there! I’d also love it if I could add accomodation and travel costs to the app. Calculate approx travel distance based on fuel consumption, and Allow fuel cost input at each stop Also, how about a MacOS version?

Great. Worth every cent. Best routing app out there.

A road trip planner that works at last. This app works well as a optimising road trip planner. It allows a start, as many waypoints as necessary and a destination all to be saved (bookmarked) as a route. All from your existing contacts or by searching maps. The app uses Apple maps extensively. It also allows the route to be optimised for travel time. It will reorder the waypoints for an optimised route. Just excellent. The interface needs some work. The FAQs are a life saver. Of all the road trip planners I've tried, this one works. Thanks.

Does the job But. Use to like this app but seems that all updates have additional features that you have to pay for - Lost Me!

Upgraded review (again). Ahh.. I failed to restore purchase. Apologies to Dev, my mistake —- Another dev moved to bloodsucking subscription model. Delete. —- Although this is a great app stand-alone, it really comes into it's own as a front end for Navigon's hideous waypoint-entry method. I think Navigon (Garmin) should pay these guys a lot of money and buy the idea from them

Poor description. The description says you can add up to 25 points but you can't unless you pay $5

Horrendously bad at reading .kml files. Created a simple route in Google my maps following a straight forward motorway from point A-to-B. Exported it as a .kml file to inRoute pro app. Despite being 144 markers over 20kms, the route is suggesting I take every exit and circle back around. Toll avoidance is switched off. Tried two different routes with similar results. Not promising at all. Only in trial period so won’t be moving forward with full purchase.

Really Getting There. Makes planning and doing the ride so much easier. Integration of searching for locations, picking defined “via” point, and selecting preferred routes between them, now works really well. In addition, it’s so easy to modify the route based on previous saved versions. There’s always at least one significant change once the others review the early draft route. Being able to push the route out to Apple Maps, or Waze, is brilliant. It means being able to use one’s preferred guidance software with the usual voice. Although InRoute’s turn by turn works well the voice grates. The only downside is that it requires additional steps to publish a marked-up map. But none of the competing software is significantly better at that anyway. Finally, the rate at which InRoute has improved, presumably based on user feedback, has been very impressive. I look forward to future developments.

Great app. Fast accurate searching of addresses. Easy to use. Can save routes with up to 25 optimised addresses. It works seamlessly with Tom Tom navigation which only has 6 waypoints and no optimisation option. The developers deserve congratulations.

Awesome.. This app impressed me when I first got it, and since then with each update the improvements have made it even better. Keep up the good work.

A bit frustrating and limited in regards to including accommodation. I selected avoid tolls and the app took me on a long convoluted bypass when it could have simple directed me along the A9. I had to muck about dropping a pin on the A9 to avoid the toll. This app would be a lot better if it could be made to work with a camping and accommodation finding app,

Very impressed. Offline maps is a big bonus in remote areas. Pin drop and shift is easy if you need to make a change. Sync via iCloud is perfect for multiple devices. This is a very impressive app. Voice Navigation would be a good addition.

Very simple but very comprehensive. I found the trip planner to be very logical & simple to get started with straight away & the more advanced features such as layover & distance to next waypoint were very helpful.

Just Love it.. Fantastic good job Guys.

Great app. Easy to use and gives great info

rubbish!. cant transfer2 Google MAPS & Apple MAPS EVEN i PAID $6.49! totally not work!

No Time Prioritisation for Business Opening Hours. This app really needs to calculate routes based on business opening and closing times and days to be very useful.

So good!. Heaps easy to use and very useful for courier work.

Very basic app that works. Not worth subscription. This app has been around a while have not changed much. I do not see why it think it os subscription material. It is basic that does what it says, once you figured it out and gained some practise.

Adventure Bike Trip Planning. This app is fantastic for planning and creating GPS routes for any travels and also for post trip recording. I love this app and highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip or sharing a trip with a friend. Download it and you won't be disappointed.

At last!. After weeks of spending hours and hours working out which towns were about 500km apart, for 4000km + trip from Brisbane to Adelaide and back, I found Inroute and it made everything easy. And does more. Why don't all Maps work so easily and flexibly?

Fantastic. Bit pricy for premium but works a treat. Beats Google any day

Awesome app. Easy, reliable and gets the job done. Definitely recommend this app to anyone with medium to high delivery drop offs.

So well designed.. All the features you need, none you don’t! Great job guys.

Learn to use this!. I was as frustrated as hell the first time I used this, however I'm so glad I persisted and got in touch with developers! The help was spot on and I am saving heaps of time on my run!

The best maps app on ipad.. I Always start with this and transfer to google maps if need traffic. Incidentally, it transfers effortlessly (not with problems, as stated by another reviewer) Enables multiple waypoints with info. The only issue i have is the long wait when tapping a pin for info.

Only for serious users....!. It is such an intelligent "app" it will help all The people who are looking for multiple locations with laser precision..!!

Sweet. Does its job Quick customer support worth it’s purchase

Easy as Country Guide. As a Rep it is so easy to calculate travel times and Route that suite me best.

Magic. Spend some time coming to grips with it, it's worth it. Beats spending $$$$$ on a Tom Tom or other, brilliant

Great app very useful saves a heap of time. Great app very useful saves a heap of time

Does it's job but not intuitive. Very hard to navigate app and I have always struggles to get the maps showing in any other maps app for guidance while driving. Worst UX I have seen. It’s the

Excellent app. I'm a motorbike rider and have used this app to make meeting point for rides and just to plot out the ride and the good thing is you can send the route to friends

Well done inroute. Once paid for most awesome app for planning customer visits and trips away. Would be lost with out it.

Actually works. As as a tour guide and transfer driver, I love being able to have multiple designations already loaded into the map and then edit what waypoints I have for the day and their sequence.... much easier than other systems Plus I have a history of past locations.

Great Trip Planner. Been looking for this for years. So easy, simple to use and quick to calculate routes, times etc. love it. Would be great if you could adjust average speeds per leg.

Excellent Trip Planner. Use this app every time I map out a route. Could use icons to help map out campgrounds, gas stations and rest stops.

Awesome app. I love that you can just subscribe to pro features when you need it for a month. As an example, winter is 7+ months of the year here so I don't need the app. This app was perfect for our 3000KM motorcycle trip. Only thing I would wish for more is if it kept a log of where we rode in addition to all the trip planning features. This would make my GPS device obsolete.

Use to be good. Nothing special and everything extra $$$

InRoute ... j'adore !. Je m'en sers pour préparer mon itinéraire de voyage car il complète très bien mon GPS. Les coordonnées GPS sur InRoute sont faciles d'accès.

Not user friendly. Couldn’t figure it out

Great. Took awhile to get used to but so far I'm enjoying plotting and using this app! Love it!

Fantastic App if you love taking backroads. As a motorcycle touring rider , I look for as many twisty , quiet backroads as possible . InRoute allows me to drop up to 25 pins, a Requirement when picking lots of backroads to get from point A to B , vs the most direct route. Love the elevation , weather charts so you can plan for cooler elevations and weather events in advance .

App charges $5 monthly once you download. Downloaded this in 2017 with a bunch of other route planner apps, just got off the phone with Apple to realize I’ve been charged $5 monthly since 2017 for this app.. I’m usually diligent wth my monthly subscriptions but since Apple lumps payments together I thought Apple charging $19 a month was for Apple Music and iCloud space.. If you want to cancel go to settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID > subscriptions > cancel. Apple informed me that I deleted this app in 2017 but when you delete apps it does NOT cancel the subscription.. hope this helps

Easy & Powerful. Add a stop, add another stop.. then when you hit destination. Bam. it plans your route. Easy for us couriers who don’t want to mess with a convoluted interface.

It's good.. The only thing I need that I can't seem to find on this app is support for large vehicle routs as it is illegal to drive my truck & trailer down many roads it'd be nice to have it plot a nice legal rout for me. Could use a few updates / new features. Rob - Vancouver B.C. Ca.

Fantastic App. Such a great tool to use

Garbage. Compared to PackageRoute this is trash . It literally routes it so you’d have to turn around on a main road for next stop and it puts stops across the street on the left . Fkn idiots. Find a cliff and spread your wings , app creation is for others

ok but lacks important details and info. Really good to be able to enter RV details and dimensions but the app does not show details like lights, stop, etc. But worse, does not give any sense of traffic…so cancelling trial and going back to google and waze, disappointing.

Bad. Won’t do a regular map if it involves flights and stuff

Inroute. La meilleur application pour les livreurs

Amazing!. This App makes work so much easier to navigate and is very easy to use. Would definitely recommend

Best phone app for motorcycle. I’ve used InRoute for several years now. For motorcycle trip planning and navigation, this is the best I’ve found. I tried a season with Rever premium but, alway ended up back with InRoute. I do hope that there might be partnerships with companies like Butler Motorcycle Maps, Atlas Obscura or Trip Planner for points of interest and best motorcycle roads.

Why did you remove the feature where the addresses are displayed under the pins on the map. Now I have to tap the pin to see what address is near by. Would be nice if the addresses were default displayed like before. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Just one thing missing. Perfect app to plan drives , works really well. Only thing missing in the custom routes in avoidance section is « dirt roads » Overall great app

SUPER. Meilleur gps EVER !!!

Best if found to date. I try lots of different apps for route planning, none I can find are as comprehensive and support as many waypoints as InRoute. Inclusion of weather, and distance from each waypoint is fantastic added information that makes route planning easy. From the app it’s simple to lay out multiple waypoints and find the most inspiring routes.

Scam. once I downloaded the app it automatically spend money on my credit for the pro subscription.

Needs work. I use this app for 4 years now There is some stuff that needs work on when do a run I’ve been doin for years I know I’m my head the best way to do it. I have to play with inroute and move destination around to get it best way even with auto route on I find it’s making me back track a lot more then what needed. Sometimes it will take me 2 try’s or 10 try’s to get it right. So I don’t have to drive by 10 stops then go back same way Would be good for a camera option so it can take photo of labels and puts in map as well.

Safe time my work is easier. Good app

Missing one key feature - offline maps. This is the best route planning app I’ve used. Unfortunately, without offline maps, the app isn’t usable for navigation or during a trip. Edit: the latest update has broken the app. It now plots nonsensical routes that make it unusable.

Good app.. Quite stable.

Great and bugs. I love the app but for some reason when I use it for work and I start adding up adresses in the app , the app starts lagging like crazy and I don’t understand why and I’m actually paying for this app it’s disappointing and my iPhone XR is one year old I don’t understand but other than that it’s a good app but i need to fix this i need help please

Les routes du Québec. Excellente appli. J'aimerais parcontre pouvoir voir les chemins asphaltés versus les chemins de terre ou en gravel. Merci

Great looking app but too expensive. I was going to use this app to plan and send out routes for road rallies, but since the costs are so high it’s just not feasible, hopefully they can just use ads in the future or cut back on some useless features like the weather warnings and make it cheaper.

Extremely disappointed. This app is so hard to use. It does not think the way I do/. It is hard to place turn by turn points and not have it create a route where you don’t want to go. I want to drop a pin then the next then the next and it simple doesn’t work like that. I have unsubscribed.

Fix this. Really sad I have to use Waze in between stops to find the fastest route. InRoute cannot be trusted a lot of the time. Also this app is dangerous driving as you try to zoom out to try and get an overview of where you are going next and it auto corrects to center over and over again. I have literally screamed at this app several times. Once you get this stupid app to zoom out (and the double click is useless btw) I need to press the arrow button like three times to get the map back to North, or way I’m travelling up. Slow to update position, can’t make it shut up for a couple minutes at a stop, told you hit mute button which is not convenient when carrying delivery, clipboard and pen plus car keys. Speed is important, not holding a mute button and half the time the volume control pops up. Have emailed maker of app before about these problems but it was just ignored. Please fix this and you’ll get a 5 star review. Ignore again and you’ll get a cancelled paid subscription.

Motorcycle trip. Excellent app for motorcycle trips. It even has the curviness indicator if you're planning which road to take. Many features

Good but could be better. All in this app helps me save the headache of routing manually. I can see where everything is and route accordingly. However, it does need some improvement. First of it would be nice if the travelled route was a different color than the current path. That would save a lot of wrong turns and keep me on track always. Second more color for stops. I have different customers and color code them based on that. It would be nice to have more options. Third, why do I have to still go onto google maps to make sure it is the fastest route available. So many time it’ll take me on a scenic drive to my destination where I could’ve saved time and fuel! Which brings me to my last and most annoying point. Stop the automatic zoom!!! Please for the love of god! Every time I enter address it zooms right in and I have to zoom out. Imagine having to do that 30-40 times!! Just make the auto zoom for the whole app optional. As previous reviewers said... my eyes and hands are on the phone trying to fight the auto zoom while I’m driving. Please make it stop!!

Not free. The app subscription fees are quite expensive. Not my bag of tea…!

We love it!. We love planning our trips with InRoute.

Super appli. Je l'utilise pour organiser mes sorties à vélo.. 😃👌👍

Ok. Needs Google or Apple Maps. The app mostly works ok. The main limitations are 1) the inability to manually choose a route and 2) very poor ability to re-route if you veer off course. The app will only re-direct you back to set waypoints - not your route. This means that the slightest change of course requires (pulling over on the shoulder, removing gloves and ) manually skipping waypoints to prevent the app from forcing you to backtrack. Frustrating.

Best option out there to replace gps units.. Have used several times for motorbike trips. Once you get the hang of choosing your waypoints and then setting the layover points which took a sec, everything makes sense and it’s basically a real improvement over route planning any other way. Temp, elevation etc all there. Good for cycling trips too or camping trips.

Good job!. The survey sucks.

Time saving app!. I use this app for my landscaping company. We have many stops per day and this app makes it easy to save time and fuel, automatically sorts the destinations to where you need to go, great app!

Good App. Like the App, simple to use

Using this one all the time. an invaluable tool for trip planning and taking notes. will show alternate routes and much more. use it all the time.

Trash. Stupid app. Makes you pay after you download. Not free as stated

Busting with Easy-to-Use Features. Gets better and better! This has been my go-to mapping app for years. It works the way I think which makes it easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Great app. Oversized trucker and this works great on permitted loads

Navigation issue. You can’t navigate each individual stop

Awesome app!. Little bit of a learning curve but awesome nevertheless!

InRoute the most practical tool. I work for the Feds and require up to 50 destinations and 3 routes per month. I LOVE this app because it’s cheap and has all the things I need to set up my clients. Notes, instant access to all the details of a visit, options for waypoints or just to keep it on the map outside of a route. It has proven to be accurate for its optimization and who knew it would show Lat and Long...something I’m required to confirm! Thanks for a tool that makes my job immensely easier.

Pretty amazing. I purchased the enhanced version several months ago to plan a trip around New England. I initially downloaded and purchased the app on my iPad Pro and couldn’t figure out how to sync to my iPhone. I contacted the web developer via email through the website listed below and within about 10 minutes I received the info I needed. Now that’s customer service AND a quality app. Well worth the purchase. Easy for even me to create trips and save them. Thanks!

Awesome Customer Service. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to use the app. I have planned a nearly 1500 mile trip, twice, but haven’t driven it yet. It seems like a great app, so many features. (I bought the one time upgrade) To me though, the most impressive thing is that I had a question about how to do something and could not find the answer in the FAQ, so I emailed. I RECEIVED AN ANSWER WITHIN TWO MINUTES!! If you are looking for an app to plan your trips, you need to check this out!

Excellent!. My wife and I recently did a full cross-country trip and tried a number of different trip planning apps and services. InRoute definitely came out on top for me. Planning, adding stops, and real-time charts are awesome. I might end up using it for my normal GPS. As with all these apps, I just wish there was a way to tell it to use a particular highway in certain areas. I had to trick it to use I-84 by making it go through Wilkes-Barre, PA. Thank you for the app.

Overall a great app. This is by far my fave nav app. It’s fast & simple to use. Creating even complex routes is a doddle and can be done in minutes. Honestly, there are only two things that I would change… First, 3D (two finger swipe up) is the bane of my existence. LOL I’m forever switching to 3D accidentally. I wish I could simply shut it off. Forever. Second, but more importantly, I wish “Via” could be set as the default waypoint instead of a “Stop.” “Stops” for me are just that. It due to the complexity of some of my routes…it’s useless to announce a waypoint that is only there to keep the app from sending me another way, despite that way being “better” in some cases. It would EXCELLENT to have the option of using “Via” OR “Stop” as the users default. Other than that, it’s solid.

BAD APP FOR TRUCKERS/RVers. Used an app 4 years ago when we were traveling back east & learned there are a lot of low bridges. Couldn’t find that same app again, so bought this one as our 5th wheel is 13 ft. 1 in. tall. This app took us on crazy routes, wanted us to take a “parkway” (warning, low bridges) in Maryland & took us under the Potomac River, which had a sensor to detect over height vehicles 13’6”). In reality, it took us off I-95, under the Potomac, tried to get us on a parkway, then back onto I-95. We could have just stayed on I-95. Then through NYC on the Interstate, it was telling us to take the wrong Washington Bridge (upper vs. lower) than the signs were directing truck traffic. We followed the signs & stopped using this horrible app. It is very user UNFRIENDLY to boot. Don’t waste your $$ on this.

Useful. I’m finding this app rather useful for its various applications, when I used to drive a lot I used it to consider my options as I projected my routes considering my circumstances, found the Elevation accommodating info to be rather useful as well as the temp and weather related charts during alerting wether conditions. All in all it’s a well thought out app. My work might be taking me in the direction of needing an upgrade shortly,I’m considering upgrading soon. I am quite pleased with this app its a keeper.

This App just made a 2100 mile trip awesome!. I am amazed how smart he made his app. I planned a 2100 mile trip and easily dropped in gas stations every 150 miles, Airbnb's every night, told it I only wanted to ride 6 hrs a day and it told me where to stop, it warned me of extreme weather, warned me I had selected a dirt road (I ignored it and regretted it), and navigated perfectly. First and only app to so perfectly anticipate everything you will need for long trips. My kudos to the developer! I honestly want to give this developer a $100 tip, it's so good.

Great app for motorcycles.. Have been using in-route on mac and iPhone for probably 7 years now. Love it. Good flexibility, routing, and all kinds of ways to share route. Only app i still continue to support by paying for subscription. When i went to NZ i had some issues syncing between mac and iPhone but support was fantastic and solved my issue quickly and was very receptive to change requests. Great product and support !!!!

Functionality is superb. The interface design can be clunky at times, but the features more than make up for it. If you want to plan a complex route, find the curviest roads, visit waypoints in the most efficient order, or do a cross-country road trip, this app is excellent. One feature I'd like to see is Carplay support, because exporting destinations to other apps doesn't really work when using alternate routes (e.g. curviest); they just use the quickest route.

Best trip planning app. I have spent $60 testing others.. Best route planning app ever. Every new release blows me away with features. I'm a road captain for a motorcycle group. I plan multi stop trips all the time. We like to take back roads. I used to use streets and trips before it was discontinued. I'd been looking for something for my iPhone. tried every navigation app. Spent over $60 on them. This is simple and easy to use In minutes I create routes for group rides. These are not straightforward. They are confusing back road routes. The fact that they list gas stations places of interest and restaurants is tremendous help in planning our rides. Support responded to a question I had in less than five minutes. The gps feature is responsive and accurate. The more I use this the better it gets Freaking amazing

Best Nav App with Pin Drops, Hands Down. I’ve been using this app since before they offered turn by turn directions. I drive for a living and inRoute has saved me more time and frustration, who’s is invaluable to me. The updates are frequent and keep things running smoothly. After almost 5 years of use, I wouldn’t recommend anything else if you need to easily add waypoints. A+++

Fantastic app. Before I arrive at a travel site. I put in the airport, hotel, restaurant, gym. The app then optimizes the way points so I travel the most efficient route. My wife and I use this feature for garage sales. This app is perfect for travel especially in winter. Once you plan out your route it will let you know when to expect snow on your route in addition to other features like wind, altitude, etc. Love the app!

InRoute - Very useful for motorcyclist. This is the only app I've found thus far that allows me to very explicitly select the waypoints I want to visit and/or routes I want to take that really sticks to them. It doesn't try to get me there the most efficient way, it gets me there the way I told it I wanted to go. I like the 'twisty's'. I like to stay off the highways and InRoute let's me do all that. I've used to it map routes for a group and shared that route with my friends using .gpx format and it's worked flawlessly. I admit that I really like a Mac version so I can map my routes on the computer, but that's a minor niggle.

Useless unless u want to subscribe. A couple years ago this app had every feature available in the free version. You could only make twenty five waypoints but that was plenty. The app was great. Now you can only make five and almost all the features are locked in the free version. It might be worth the money if a person travels a lot but it’s not if you just want to plan a family trip every few years. I understand companies need to make money to survive, but when the product is great and then the company makes it basically useless is not good business

Great app but needs a couple things. Great app but needs a pause route button for when we stop at a waypoint but don’t want to end the route so it will quite giving verbal directions or tell you to return to route while walking around with my phone in my pocket. Otherwise love it!!! Also it would be nice if it also showed the speed limit for the road you are traveling on like the other navigation apps do.

Perfect For Motorcycles and much more!. This app is perfect for planning motorcycle trips or any trip where you want total control over the route. I use this extensively for planning and leading HOG chapter rides as well as personal rides. The upgrade for full cloud sync and over 25 waypoints is very much worth the price if you like to do your planning on a large iPad and then use your phone on your bike or in the vehicle. This app would work will in any scenario where you want to plan a specific route.

Great Route Planner. I’ve been using inRoute for 5 years. I started with the free version but quickly upgraded to get 150 weigh points. I take cross country motorcycle trips every year, as well as trips in our truck. This app is great. I plan out the entire trip, day by day, with rest stops, lunch stops and hotel stays. You can set your departure time and how long you plan on being at each stop, which works great to keep you informed on your ETA to the next stop and end of route. I am very pleased with inRoute.

Ur own route.. Works great for making ur own trips on the roads u specify. Sometimes it doesn't calculate-the exact route u want so u have to drop another (waypoint) to make it go where u want. Sometimes it doesn't sync up with IPhone app and I have to Air Drop it to my phone... Other than those issues,it's pretty decent. Wish it had at least 40 waypoints for better calculation of route. I love how if I lose cellular service in remote areas that the gps on IPhone keeps going an following the roads already loaded on screen.

Pilot Car - Great tool. I’ve used Delorme for several years and vowed to never use anything else. But after having used the InRoute App, I have totally transitioned to it. I do wish the exit numbers were on the maps, however, I have been impressed with the functionality, and accuracy of this mapping tool. Paying the extra fee for additional waypoints makes it easy to plan out every turn on a full trip. Great value.

Works Great. I have tried many other GPS programs. This is by far the best I have used. In addition to the voice guidence the features I like the most are 1. The ability to set way points with just a touch. I ride a motorcycle & Slingshot and I will set a start point and destination and after the route is displyed I can add waypoints for sightseeing places along the way and have the route recalculted for 'Most Curvy'. 2. Once a route is determined I can have gas stations plotted along the rote every 150 miles or whatever distance I choose. 3. If the route is long i can search and plot layover stays every (x) number of hours from starting point. 4. Severe weather alerts are displayed along route. 5. Caculate custom routes based on a series of conditions like Most Curvy, Least Precipation and Highest Temperature. There are many more features ... All in all a great app

Ahead of the pack. I have been using inRoute for a few years as one of a suite of trip planning apps for a few years now. Over that time all of the apps in that suite have improved but inRoute has improved to the point I no longer need or use any of the others. When inRoute added CarPlay compatibility I found I no longer use any of the others. The developer’s responsiveness to user’s questions and requests is the icing on the cake.

just great. using this app with TOTAL satisfaction for a long time. yesterday i had a problem (my fault, did not pay attention). contacted “help”. my question was replied in minutes. the answer included a simple, yet detailed, explanation of what was wrong. i was offered two ways to solve it. took a minute and all was well. lets put it this way. if i was on a motorcycle ride (bmw r1200rt) and had the problem while on the road, i could have stopped by the side of the road, contact help and be back on my way within minutes. now, it probably takes longer when more people are traveling. still, the quick understanding of my question and the quickness and clarity of the solution were amazing. i whole heartedly recommend this app to anyone venturing on a trip. my highest compliments to the guys behind this marvel.

Love this app!. I have been using this app for the last five years on motorcycle trips and it’s been spectacular. The option to select gas stations every 125 miles or select your hotels along your route is very cool. when I have contacted customer support they get back to me usually within a few hours. It has lots of options and settings and I suggest you watch the introduction video.

Not the best for RURAL routes. 1. We can’t seem to share the Premium through our family share. 2. It gets lost. It told us to veer left, then it told us to return to the route after we veered...very off putting. 3. To stay on a more leisurely route you have to set excessive waypoints. Then, if you export to Apple Maps, it will only take you from waypoint to waypoint, so you have to load routes several times. Frustrating and time-consuming. Would be unreasonable for a lone-driver to do safely. Am hoping they pay attention as this seems to be the only app of its kind. The Overlanders seem to favor Gaia GPS. Maybe we should check it out! Safe travels!

Best app for routing a trip or piloting oversizeloads. I've tried a lot of apps and this is the BEST one to use for piloting oversized load routes or simply taking a trip. You must buy the full version for best results. The only draw back is in satellite maps. When you need to see something its usually outdated picture. If they updated every 3-6 months it would be much more helpful. Other than that I recommend it highly.

Great App. I use this app to go on very long road trips with many stops. This app gives you the weather along the route and options if you’re looking for more scenic options. I used this to drive from Seattle to Mojave Desert and from Houston to Seattle and had a great experience with this app. It took me through some great forests and down some challenging roads that were fun to drive.

I liked it a year ago. **UPDATE I paid for the full version a year ago. I’ve installed the app on two iOS devices with the same Apple login and restored the purchase on both, but the pins don’t sync across iCloud. So much for giving the app another try. **ORIGINAL REVIEW I haven’t used the app in a while and it seems like they made changes and of course now want you to pay monthly for premium features. No thanks. I have enough monthly bills. Also I cannot figure out to simply send some pins to a friend who also has the app. I was able to do it a year ago when we planned a trip but it appears they removed the ability to do that. I do NOT want to sent a route, just pins. So now I’m looking for a new route planner app!

For RVers you won’t find a better planning tool.. I have used this app for years and find more and more that I like about it. I plan every trip adding fuel stops, elevation drops, waypoints, rv parks, and just about everything I want to find. I can set my average speed to make planning realistic for rv driving. I can find RV parks just by searching on the map, or points of interest. I can see elevation drops or gains, weather, or route curviness. This app is fully worth the price and I also purchased the upgrade.

Meh…. I got this as I understood it, this would show weather on the route, and even adjust the route for bad weather. The weather part of the app is so kludgy that it’s easier to look at a weather app to find out what’s going on! For example: when you want to look at precipitation the app zooms to where the precipitation is. It doesn’t show the precipitation but zooms into a random spot, that’s yellow or red on a weather app, but not anywhere near the route. You have to zoom out to fogure out.

Great app for RVing. As a full time RVer, I have used this app for my trip planning and really like all of the functionality and features available. It is a bit quirky and tedious to have to jump around to several different views when creating or adjusting a route. I really wish it had the ability to set a fixed date for a stop, like RV Trip Wizard does. I’m hoping the developers add that option soon. If so, this trip planning app would definitely beat all the others.

This app is perfect!. My wife is flying to LA. She is renting a car and requires three totally different routes with different starting and destination points. I was quickly able to set up each route and bookmark it. The "remove" allows to clear prior route data and start a new one. Waypoints can be added as desired after the fact. New travel and driving times are added. This app also uses satellite GPS where cell service is not available. This is a very professionally designed app. Throughly thought out.

Great trip planner. I have been using this app for over three years and it's perfect for my needs. I regularly take 2-3 long trips a year of 5,000 miles or more and this makes figuring out how long I can travel for each leg of the trip to plan my layovers. I have the upgrade that allows for 25 waypoints and it's great. I have recommended it to my friends and they have told me that they love it too. Highly recommended!

Great app, 2 pet peeves. Love the app, have been using it for several years now. But one thing drives me crazy: when sending a route to Waze or google, the waypoint number does not match what you have on the inRoute map. If I want to navigate to waypoint 1 on the inRoute map, I have to select waypoint “2 of ...”. Please fix that!!! Also, can you create a shortcut on screen to send the route to an app of your choice (waze/google/etc)? Now it’s hidden under the 3-dot button and then under “Share”. Not very logical!

Geared for personal use and not commercial use. Used to be able to put in vehicle perimeters beyond 80k lbs, 10 wide, and 65ft long for truckers. Now those are the max limits which makes it not as valuable to use for heavy haul/oversize drivers. I paid for the pro version because I loved being able to put in actual dimensions of oversize loads, but that has since changed and I’m looking for other alternatives. InRoute does have some nice features and I do prefer it over Google or Maps and that’s why it gets 3 stars, otherwise I would cancel my subscription.

Using inRoute. I’ve been using inRoute for over a year now. I keep learning more about its capability’s each time. I like the way I can plot my own route instead of always heading down the toll road or interstate at 70 mph in bumper to bumper traffic. It really nice to slow down and see something along the way. One option it doesn’t have is to be able to avoid interstates or toll roads or even big cities with out having to plot the entire rout your self. It might take longer but it’s amazing what you might see along the way.

Terrific tool for Motorcyclists. I had planned several outing rides using this amazing tool. It is feature rich and the optimization freedom is a welcome feature. Looking forward to the next update (7.6 brought us avoidances but is missing an important one) hopefully adding “avoid gravel roads and avoid unpaved roads” (distinction noted; although both are technically unpaved, they offer different challenges for motorcyclists). Or perhaps, optimize for ADV versus strictly road. Some of my fellow riders would not ride beyond pavement and basing on their saddles I totally understand why. So this feature would be a welcome one.

Would be very difficult to do my job without it. I’m a visiting nurse and I use this app every time I go out in the field. It is as or more reliable than most other GPS that I have used. And the functionality to set a route change, your route, and for it to change travel and destination times based on the real time of what I’m doing is of immense help.

Love the app! But could be better.. This could be the perfect app. I use this more then Apple map, Google map and Waze. InRoute is still much better then the others mentioned here for a family trip or simple deliveries. I love the weather updates and road closure updates as well as toll information, for all this, I give 5 stars. Features I’d like to see added are speed limit notifications while using the app, satellite street view with split screen for over all route view while entering the desired route, these additions would increase the value of InRoute and the need for other apps to create a route in InRoute wouldn’t be needed. 4 star for my type of work due to other apps needed to run at the same time for all information mentioned above.

Saddle Sore 1000. I have been looking for a program or app for years. This is far and away the best and easiest route program app out there. A couple other riders and I did an In-State Saddle Sore 1000. That is 1000 miles in a state in less than 24 hours on a motorcycle. Was able to program in all the gas stations at our 10 stops. All was flawless. Right now I am halfway thru mapping a 48 state ride in 10 days and all going smooth.

JC Pilot Car Service. My only real problem, No Exit Numbers! This App is mainly used for Trucking. Every Trucker goes by Exit numbers. Come on guys. Get it together! Another small problem has to do with your start point. They’re times, while driving mind you, where I have to end navigation and delete the Way Points. It won’t catch up to the route.

Best App For Motorcycles!. I’ve been looking for something like this for so long. So many stupid apps out there, this one actually does what I want which lets you set a custom pin layout and it will map between the pins. You can also save the routes. Why google maps doesn’t let you do this I have no idea but thanks to this app for making it happen!

Great app. I have used the app for a month now and it has helped a lot with what we use it for. One feature that would be helpful that I don’t think already exists currently is if I could share a favorites folder I made with another person (not in a family plan). That is my only complaint from the apps features. I would recommend to others this app.

A pleasure to use. I’ve had this app for a few years. It’s easy to use and full of features that actually work. I have some apps from actual GPS manufacturers to go with their devices and I can’t speak for them all but my experience with inRoute is miles ahead of them. “Miles” get it! 😀 but seriously you can’t go wrong with this app. I’ve planned 10+ day trips on this and have had no issues.

Nightmare. Used this route to deliver 100 pumpkin rolls for a client, it was not easy to type in each location, then I realized I had to flag each stop as a way point and then I could get the direction to start so I though I had to reset the starting point which then deleted all of my typed in addresses, because the Info wasn’t saved. Once I reentered the addresses and actually started to make deliveries I notice numerous times it kept taking me into pointless neighborhoods. I thought maybe they were short cuts but in reality when I looked at the map, this wasn’t the case. It also is horrible at displaying real time gps.

Getting your ride on. Loving this app for planning great routes to ride with our motorcycling friends. The ease of creating an ideal route is crazy easy. Love that I can do it on my phone, not just on a Desktop computer. The option to skip way points should w decide to detour off the main route is super useful. Wish that I could limit the voice instructions selectively... like I don’t need to hear that I am about to arrive/have arrived at my way points. They are only a means to a destination. Also wish there was access to, or a way to publicly share routes like with other apps I have used. In unison with the last point, I also wish there was a way to makes notes to myself or to other riders with whom I share my routes, again, like other Route Planning apps I use. But, I still love this app. Only hope it continues to improve.

Love this app. This app works very well, been using it for years for business and personal use. It uses Apple Maps and does a great job of auto routing points. It does have a hiccup once in a while and crashes, causing you to have to restart the app. Upgraded to pro a few years back, we’ll worth the cost! The biggest problem I have now is that suddenly there is no app for iPad and it even stopped allowing me to use my app I had installed. Hopefully this can be fixed?

Life Saver. I will keep it simple, this is a dream app for motorcycle riders. I took a 1,800 miles 5 day ride between the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Pacific Highway .. it would have been a mess without this app. You can plan and save multiple routes, gives you weather updates and other great information. Last but not least, if you choose to, it will take you through some unbelievable back roads! All around best touring app period!

Good app but one suggestion. This app is good for what I do traveling permitted routes all over the u U.S. however it really needs to show exit numbers when dropping way points to creat a route there is no reference # or exit #, many other apps including google show these numbers. I know this one could because once you are in route moving it will say take exit (such & such) but will not show it when trying to creat route with way points. With this fix this app would easily be the best tool on the market
