Awesome work!. I love this toothbrush and app. I was skeptical at first… it seemed like this would be “gimmicky” but it actually works very well. I bought one for all members of my family. The only issue I’m having that I seem to be able to reproduce regularly, is that if I pause brushing to empty my mouth, when I resume, it seems to lose tracking on which sector I’m actually brushing. Aside from this, everything is great. If any of the developers read these reviews here is what I’m noticing: I’m right handed, I start on top left, around front to top right, to bottom right… pause, and when I resume bottom front, I can’t seem to get the brush to recognize when I’m actually brushing the bottom left. It thinks I’m brushing the bottom right. If I don’t have to pause, I don’t seem to have this issue.

The app used to work fine, now it’s a disastrous!. Until the latest update on the telephones the Oral-B app used to work somewhat satisfactorily. It had glitches, but even so, typically I could get it to work. This last month however has been an absolute disaster. Let me preface this by saying that I count on this product to help remind me and hold me accountable. 100+ dollars for a toothbrush is no small charge, not to mention replacing the heads at approximately five dollars apiece. All of that being said I didn’t mind when the app would at least sink and work. Of late however the only way I can get the app to work at all is to not open it until just before I turn off my toothbrush and then, sometimes, the app will sink and gather my information. Note, that the emphasis is on “Sometimes!” The issue became so problematic That yesterday I went to my dentist and complained, they took back the toothbrush and exchanged it for another one, certain, that the problem lay in the Bluetooth connection with the toothbrush. I set up the new toothbrush yesterday, alas no, the problem is not with the toothbrush and it Bluetooth connection, but rather with the app itself. If you can’t fix it, and you don’t do so soon I’ll just return the unit and go back to something less technical. My husband is rather frustrated at hearing me hollering at my toothbrush three times a day. It’s not good for my blood pressure.

Very pleased!. After struggling for years with sensitive teeth/gums and my dentists recommending a mechanical toothbrush, I decided to find one. Luckily, I got found the OralB Genius on Cyber Monday and made the switch. I was actually surprised that it was Bluetooth enabled and had an app associated with it. It came in the mail, i set it all up (about 10 minutes to get everything together), and was ready for my first brush. It took another 10 minutes to sort out how to use the app. I love the guided timer that tells you how long to focus on each area of your mouth. And I genuinely find myself brushing my teeth for more than 2 minutes every single time because it feels so great. I also purchased the sensitive toothbrush heads, which has been great - I was afraid they would be too soft and not actually get the job done, but this turned out to be completely unfounded. And finally, it comes with a sturdy portable case for traveling, which was an awesome bonus. Unfortunately, the app has been crashing lately. If I try to look at my ‘activity’ the program quits. I’ve also had problems with my sessions suddenly quitting in the middle of brushing, then it tells me I haven’t brushed long enough. These have been frustrating, so I’m hoping that an update will be out soon to patch the bugs. Otherwise it’s a great product and my mouth feels so much healthier. Would recommend for anyone!

I kind of feel cheated. I own a Bluetooth enabled smart toothbrush. (I’m not entirely sure what the model is but it has four modes, and I guess five if you include the “regular mode” which isn’t shown on the brush itself. It also includes a light ring on the top. With this app, I used to be able to customize to my liking including changing the color of it, monitoring its status, and even reading the news and weather in the morning. With the rollout of their Guide brush, they have shifted that ability over to the Oral B connect. My brush itself has similar capabilities as the Guide, but I bought this brush after the smart base was introduced so it refuses to connect to the app. While the base incorporates Alexa and has cool features and I have considered switching, my brush is very much in good condition and there is no solid reason why I should switch. I miss the customization. I thought it was fun and almost got me excited to brush (it sounds nerdy but it’s true). I think it was completely wrong to remove that. Don’t fall into the marketing trick. It’s not worth it. However, despite all of this, the regular app is ok. The position detection is very touchy. I ended up having to brush for almost five minutes for it to register that I had touched all parts of my mouth. This app does keep a log which is nice, but it needs some improvement.

Sonicare user but not thrilled with Oral B. Sonicare has some hiccups with their app for awhile. It’s a lot better now, but I never had issues creating an account or with my sessions staying in the app. I got the Genius X toothbrush today and it took me resetting my password four times to finally get logged in to the app. I don’t know if Oral B doesn’t like symbols in the password field or what but it was a painful process getting enrolled. I went to brush my teeth tonight and I’m not that impressed with the Genius X. Sonicare’s app is very, very clear where you need to brush (the area is highlighted and it’s filled in if you brush right), you know when you need to switch locations because the brush handle vibrates and there’s a visible countdown on the app. Maybe older versions of the Oral B handle vibrated, but mine doesn’t. I do think the brush cleans well, but I think the app could do a better job letting you know how much time you have left in each location. Thus far, I’m not impressed.

Metal piece alignment slightly crooked??. I got the new Oral B 8000 and it was in perfect condition. However I’m not sure if it is entirely perfect unless I’m mistaken about how it works haha. I was just wondered why the small metal piece on the toothbrush head was not directly centered when I attach the toothbrush head to the lower body piece of the Oral B 8000, it almost disappears to the left side.. instead being in the center. Then I looked at the oral B 8000 and realized the metal piece that you put inside the toothbrush head was turned slightly to the left. Is it suppose to look like that? I just wanted to make sure... because I felt the sensitivity of the toothbrush reading where I was brushing was a bit delayed or off, was this caused by the metal piece alignment being slight off, or me just needing to apply more pressure.. I just wanted to make sure it was working properly now when I first got it and not have something happen later haha that could have been asked or looked into at the beginning. Thank you so much for your feed back!

Maybe it’s me. It’s possible I’m missing something here, but I can't seem to get past the first few pages of the app where Philip asks me if l’d like to send them my dental information, including data on my cavities, plaq buildup and bleeding gums. They tell me they'll be using the information about my brushing habits to offer me products. No...It doesn't say that the information will be used in the way one would reasonably expect (to allow the app to give you feedback on brush pressure, time spent brushing, etc.). Oh, did I say it *asks you? I meant that it gives you no other choice. Sure, it says "I'll do this later" at the bottom of the screen, which would be a nice option. But when you click that it brings you to another screen that pressures you further into agreeing to share your information, and then sends you right back to the previous screen! There is absolutely no way to opt out. In the age of digital data malpractice, you'd think Phillips would respect the customer enough to actually give them the option of whether they want to send some company data on my dental goals. I mean, who makes dental goals, let alone dental goals they'd want to share with Phillips!?

Great app with One minor draw back. I just got the Oral-B series 9 and love the toothbrush and the app. I have braces and i can see a difference between this toothbrush and the last one i had. The app os super neat and something thats just a silly thing that i feel Like could be improved is that i wish they had more medals, its silly but nothings more exciting than seeing the little balls on the screen. Although something that is more upsetting thing about this is that it doesn’t always save my toothbrush data. I'm doing the ortho journey, and i don’t know if it'll do this when I'm not in a journey, but when I finish brushing my teeth i can push the button on the tooth to go from daily clean to tongue clean. I’ll finish up then look to see how long i brushed and it would only say 30 seconds because thats how long the tongue clean is but the actual toothbrush 2+ mins of the session time disappears. But it keeps everything else

Love this app, stopped me from being lazy at night. I love most things about this app, I brush my teeth every day but before I go to sleep would be lazy, when I upgraded to the oral b with Bluetooth I decided to download it, now I make myself try to have perfect day. It has made me stop being lazy, and I now brush 2x everyday. The only thing I wish could be changed about this app is if it you don’t have your phone on while you brush it won’t let you fix flossing and mouthwash, tongue cleaning. I had my phone keep stuck one time and messed up my months of work because I couldn’t adjust it. If you have a Bluetooth toothbrush that will update once you sync, but the rest of it will not. So if you’re trying to be a better flosser, it would be hard for them to keep track, if they don’t always have phone while they brush. I know it sounds childish getting rewards, but I make it a goal to try and be better and even when I’m exhausted to get that silly badge, just because somehow that badge is a goal. My 11 year old daughter has a kindle and wanted to get the app but she couldn’t find it. So, not sure if it’s available on all devices yet. Also, I do have an entire week that’s blank, from a few months back that I swear was there so idk if it loses data sometimes or what happened with that. But overall a great app!

Amazing app. My mom works in dental and had been telling me I should probably be using an electric toothbrush. She ended up buying me one for the holidays in 2018. I lived with roommates and shared a bathroom and didn’t end up putting the phone holder suction onto the mirror. My fiancé unexpectedly passed away and I had to move back home. I packed my toothbrush away and didn’t use it for over a year. Anyway, I just started using it again the other night and set up the phone holder. I am obsessed. I am a person who has always taken exceptional care of my teeth, but I wanted to do even better. I am chronically ill and get very tired at night when it comes time to brush my teeth, but I force myself. I now enjoy it so much more, and since I’m so excited to brush, I’m doing it earlier in the night when I’m less sluggish. I recommend this to anybody.

My teeth have never been cleaner. I would like to start this review with talking about the toothbrush. First off, the brush does not vibrate like other electronic toothbrushes, IT ACTUALLY MOVES AROUND IN A CIRCLE. Furthermore, giving your teeth the clean of a lifetime. The brush also has features like how you are able to pick the color your toothbrush has and the feel of the toothbrush is very satisfying. Now on onto the app. Okay so the brush COMES with a thing to hook up to your mirror which is just genius because who wants to hold the phone while brushing? The app also tracks your progress during brushing and also shows a diagram showing where to brush. After you brush it shows you the results and that’s the best part. Getting my results makes brushing the highlight of my day. First time I got 54% (horrible). Second was 68% (better). Third was 99% (amazing). 4th was 100% or 💯 (perfect). Even my mom (who is a dentist) said my gums are very healthy and my teeth are shiny clean. Recommend this product times a million!!!!!!😁😁😁

App is to be desired. I wanted to change my toothbrush as I was using a monthly subscription company and I wanted a solid toothbrush with an app to go with it to ensure that I was giving all areas in my mouth the attention it deserved. I chose the Genius X toothbrush because of its great look design and it featured modes that I was looking for in a smart toothbrush with a good looking app to go with it. The toothbrush itself is great but the app is something to be desired. The position detection / coaching in the app (which is the main reason I got the toothbrush in the first place) doesn’t accurately track the position. I can be on one side of my mouth and the app will show I am on the opposite or not show that I am brushing at all and it will be that way for a solid 10 to 15 seconds before finally recognizing the correct area I’m on. The app needs a serious update to remedy this issue to which reading other reviews has similar complaints. I spent a good deal of money for that toothbrush and if the app doesn’t work then I just wasted money on something that does a job similarly to the more cheaper models.

A little bit dissatisfied. I bought 5 electric brush to check how my 4 children are brushing their teeth controlling them by this app. The reality is that my kids and I realize that while brushing the app isn’t able to follow the movements properly. First of all when the brush is on the left side of the month it shows the right part on the app; when up it says down; I spent up to 4 minutes trying to get the 100% coverage and it was impossible. The idea is pretty cool but it doesn’t work as it should be. Additionally I spend always at least 2 minutes brushing my teeth and the app sometimes understand that I was brushing them for less than 1 minute. If the app wasn’t used, the brush cannot hold the info for more than two or three days. A nightmare having the phone attached to my body 24 hours a day… why don’t you develop a device to be left in the bathroom so the phone is not needed. Please improve the app so it is able to follow the movements properly. Tks!

Disappointing but Promosing. I upgraded to an Oral-B iO Series 9 recently (from an Oral-B 3000 purchased several years ago). I was excited at first to use the app to help guide my brushing and provide better overall oral health. I already floss, brush my tongue, and rinse twice daily so nothing to improve upon there... First, let’s face it, turning on your phone and launching an app just to brush your teeth is cumbersome at best. We use our phones for most everything now.. Do we really need it to invade yet another part of our lives? Second, the app does an an absolutely HORRID job at tracking the brush’s position in my mouth. Often times it detect my upper teeth instead of my lower teeth and constantly signally over pressure due to how I grip my toothbrush. A brushing that should normally take just two minutes takes upwards of three just because I found myself going over areas multiple times to get the app to detect it. That would lead to gum bleeding. Deleted the app today. The brush is a great brush but the app needs LOTS of work!!!

Would be great if consistently worked. Edit**** I have had a brand new iPhone for a couple months now. Everything is up to date. Unfortunately the app is still extremely inconsistent, the timer often stopping after less than a minute of brushing. And also for whatever reason the tracking of days brushed is never the same as the rest. Right now flossed, rinsed, and clean tongue are all at 284 day streak, but brushing is at 14 days. My son is the one who uses this app and it’s extremely frustrating to him, and me, that it can’t correctly track the number of days brushed. Also we have found that the app preforms terribly when trying to do any of the journeys. At this point we are ready to just use the regular timer on my phone and delete this app. In theory this is a great app. I have it for my son to use and when it actually works it’s been great. The problem is how inconsistent it is in actually working. It often will stop mid session or not even recognize a session sometimes. The brushing streak should be the same as all the others, but it keeps going back to zero and he has to start over. Which it just did again recently and it seriously upset him. For the rest he is at 124 days, yet for brushing he it is showing as only 7 days. When the app works it’s great, it just has so many issues that I’m about ready to just delete the app and find a different way to track his progress. My phone and the app are both currently updated and it hasn’t resolved any of the issues.

I encourage the developers to continue making improvements 👍🏼✌🏼. The area I am brushing rarely matches the app. For example, if I am brushing my top right teeth, the app may say I am brushing the bottom left or other area. I then find myself trying to accommodate the imperfections of the app for a perfect score, which may not be helpful: the other day, I remained too long on one part of my teeth, patiently waiting for the app to take note that I was indeed brushing that area - it took a long time for it to register that I had brushed the area (it kept jumping to other parts of my teeth, even though I was not moving my brush very much) - and my gums were a bit sore the next day. I know I am in control and should not worry about the score, but I certainly would have had an imperfect score had I just brushed regularly; I imagine this is due to the faultiness of the app's Bluetooth. I now wonder what other parts of the app may be inaccurate, too. I hope the developers are able to make improvements; I think it would be a helpful tool.

App needs work, brush is amazing. While the app is a great idea, it is lacking in accuracy. Many times over the last six months of brushing it will show brushing on the opposite side of the mouth or on a section next to where brushing happens. This leads to extensive brushing over one area trying to get the app to catch up, while the area you haven’t brushed yet shows completed. The app is sometimes slow to activate after beginning to brush and occasionally does not activate at all. If you are trying to score your brushing, these shortcomings become frustrating. Finally, the app will on occasion say you are brushing too hard simply when you are changing position in your mouth- when the head isn’t touching anything. I have seen the app report too hard when the brush indicates blue (for too light). I am only reviewing the app here; the brush itself is fantastic! I would highly recommend the brush itself. I switched to it from years of sonicare and am a convert! Five stars for the brush, but only three for the very lackluster app.

Terrible for “outdated” toothbrush. I bought an oral B electric toothbrush and love it. Cool thing? It came with Bluetooth which connected with an app and had some nifty features like position detection and an automatic timer. Then I accidentally did an update for the app and suddenly, the brush I paid over $100 for six months ago is unable to work with position detection without the camera, and I need to update my toothbrush(ie, purchase a new one) Seriously?!? I can deal without position detection, but it’s terribly annoying that it does not automatically start the timer when you turn on the brush with the app open. You have to turn it on, tap ok, tap brush now, and start brushing in ten seconds, or it says it needs to restart and you have to tap ok, then brush now AGAIN. And if you have the brush on, you have to turn it OFF, then hit brush now, then it starts the timer from however long you’ve been brushing….. well, it’s annoying. The older version was way better. I was also upset that all the data fro the six months I had been brushing was lost, and the data reset starting from the date of the app update. Just a PIA. The app is ok otherwise.

It has the potential but right now it lacks so much.. First, I must state the I am a disabled Air Force Veteran and was given the Oral-B(R) Genius [powered by Braun(R)] Professional Exclusive Rechargeable Toothbrush as a free gift from an organization that has and will continue to take care of my teeth. They are not influencing my opinion and my opinions do not reflect on anything or anyone other my own views and experiences. Lastly, while getting used to using an electronic toothbrush I decided to go ahead and use it with the accompanying app, of which is the app that I am writing about here…The Oral-B app & the Oral-B Fun Zone app, which is and extension of the first. While the toothbrush is Bluetooth SMART and capable of connecting to a smartphone that has the Oral-B app, it seems to me the that there is an issue with either the app or the connection or something else but as I follow the instructions that were includeOd with the toothbrush and in doing so the toothbrush and app don’t seem to talk to each other very well. When using the app with face detection on my iPhone 8 Plus there is no ability to see your face or progress that it is supposed to be tracking. The timer stops even though I’m still brushing and then says I need to work on brushing that area better. So that then makes all the data that it’s gathering from me brushing kinda useless. So this app and toothbrush are just not ready yet to be out in the wild. They need more work before they go mainstream.

great app, could use a little bit of work tho. about three days ago, i purchased two oral-b toothbrushes at my local costco which have five different modes on it: daily clean, intense clean, sensitive, gum care, and tongue clean. the first day i used it, it was perfectly fine. worked ‘like a charm’, you could say. the next day worked fine too, but it barely tracked my face. it took a LOT of time to get it to go to the right spot. the next few days were the same, until today i used it, and it barely tracked my brushing!! i use this app because i am lazy, and this motivates me to brush my teeth. but now that it doesn’t work as good as it is supposed to, i feel discouraged. it will stay only on my lower teeth. i lift the camera in every which way, yet it still doesn’t budge from there. once in a blue moon though, it will flash up to my top teeth and brush them. i feel that the camera tracking could use more work, but otherwise, great app!

Good, Not Great. The app is well designed to keep each user on track. It’s easy to set up, use and understand. It brushes really well and my teeth have never felt cleaner or looked whiter. It’s got two frustrating bugs, though. 1) When you brush, it shows where you are brushing and for how long . It’s off about 25% of the time, indicating I’m brushing in one area when I’m actually in another. 2) It has subtle color changes and bubbles to show when you’ve completed a section. The key word in the last sentence is “subtle.” It’s hard to figure out what you’ve fully completed and what you haven’t. At times I see the program turn a section of my teeth white and little bubbles appear. Okay: I’m done with that part of my mouth and can move forward. Except I’m not. I move on and what was white darkens and I need to repeat what I just concluded if I care about getting credit for it. A two-minute brushing can turn into a three-minute one if I choose to keep brushing in order to complete the task from the app’s point of view.

Poorly design app by OralB. Purchased through my dentist by recommendation. After using for a few days really not all in press w / design and features. 1. Having to constantly align yourself with camera feature when using tooth brush it should be able to detect which direction and sections your brushing. 2. When setting up what hand you have to use to brush. Should have ambidextrous feature. Oral B app designer needs to take in consideration because people switch hands to brush one side to the other. 3. Tooth brush challenge poorly design because again alignment feature with phone resets it self if you move slightly while off alignment blue tooth reset. Oral B needs to app designers fix. There also has to be better way to not having to use your phone and have constant alignment issues. Your suppose to brush your teeth not have to rely on technology to tell you it can read position of where tooth brush is LOL! And not rely on statistics of how well your brushing. If Oral B apps can fix issues about they way there using blue tooth technology I may change my review.

Good App, Could Be Better. Overall I think this app is good for the most part. I have an iPhone X and I am currently using my iO Series 7 toothbrush with it. I enjoy all the different journeys, medals and the entire idea of the app. I do have a couple gripes about the app though. I’m not sure if it’s how you hold the tooth brush or the angle that it picks up but I tend to see the app “brushing” the top right of my mouth when I have the tooth brush on the bottom left of my mouth. This happens with all areas of my mouth so I’m forced to take a lot longer than I normally do brushing my teeth to try to move my brush along my mouth to see where it picks up the part of my mouth that isn’t fully covered even though I’ve brushed it thoroughly already. Then my score is low because I had to take 3 minutes to brush instead of 2 minutes because the app was misreading where I was brushing. Lastly I messaged customer service several times about some issues and I never heard back from them.

Great experience. Just moved from Phillips sonicare to Oral B. I feel great after brushing as if I came from a hygienist. Removed one star because having issues with Bluetooth connection even my brush is next to my iPhone 12. When you do not have Bluetooth on, you can not use “your brush”feature in more section of the settings. It is lot easier to access features from the app than the toothbrush itself. Also if I select 30 seconds timer on, it should work all the time even I am in a guided session, period. Please do something to connect Bluetooth easily on the app, it should stay on until we put the brush on charging. So please make the timer work all the time and improve your Bluetooth connectivity and make the process easier. Your staff at Oral B should be more knowledgeable. I hope to expect some improvements in the future update. Thank you guys.

Overpriced toothbrush with a timer. I’ve had the Oral B “Smart” toothbrush now for several months. I was super excited at first for the Position Detection but it never works correctly even when I use “the Oral B way of brushing.” Always shows a different place from where I’m actually brushing. Takes waaaaay too long to get the 100% clean to show and it can’t be good for teeth or gums to brush that long. So I turned that off and have just been using the 2 minute timer. Except now the timer shows an extra unguided session with a time stamp of 2-6 minutes before I’ve started brushing, opened the app or even walked into the bathroom!?! What’s that about?!? My next step will be to stop using the app at all and just ask my Alexa device to set a 2 minute timer when I’m ready to brush. I could have done that with my previous electric toothbrush and saved a lot of money, time and frustration. And yes I have the latest app version installed. I see lots of similar complaints and the same “sorry about that, call us” answer. How about instead of pat answers, just address and fix the issues with the app? The end.

Great Tool for Oral Hygiene Improvement!. If ever there was a time to describe something as being “extra”, a toothbrush that connects to an app on your phone is it. That said, I LOVE this feature! I am a total freak about doing things with thoroughly and with precision. My oral hygiene has always been lacking (not flossing/brushing as often as I’m “supposed” to, etc.), but this app has totally helped get my oral health back on track! The fact that it shows me where to brush and for how long makes me feel like I’m giving all targeted areas an equal amount of time without rushing through to beat the clock. I also enjoy that you can totally tailor your oral hygiene needs to YOU, using their “journey” feature, which you can set up with the dental professional in your life so you know which areas you need to better focus on. The daily reminders to floss and rinse are a total bonus as well, at least for a previous non-flosser, like myself. The only thing I don’t LOVE about this app is the position detector. It’s awesome in theory, but I often feel like I’ll be brushing one part of my mouth, while the app says I’m on a different part. But honestly, the sheer fact that my TOOTHBRUSH can sense that at all is pretty astounding. If you’re looking for ways to up your oral hygiene game, this is the app for you!

Hopeful. I absolutely was the biggest fan of this or I’ll be up until this last couple of weeks for some reason whenever I try to brush my teeth and use the 3-D brush recognition after about two minutes or anytime really during the time I’m brushing it says I didn’t get a side and doesn’t recognize whenever I am on that side I’ve been up to almost 5 minutes even when I’m not supposed to be brushing that long trying to figure out what it is that it’s not seeing i’m not sure how to fix this and I’m hoping that someone from Oral-B can help please I don’t have teeth in the areas in which the brush says I’m missing that area please fix this !! As it always says you missed area do better yet I can’t miss an area I don’t have teeth to brush in that’s a big issue , also I now have Invisalign and it should notice I have attachments that I am brushing as well , incorporate that into your 3-d model along with missing teeth then you will be five stars you only do braces at this time

Fighting firmware instead of gingivitis. First off, never had any technical problems with the app or the toothbrush. Both work as advertised every time. Since I can’t find any place to submit feedback regarding the brush, I’m leaving it here. I have two UX issues: 1) when I stop the brush to quickly rinse my mouth out, I want to be able to switch to gum cleaning mode before I turn the brush back on, not after. This is making an unnecessary mess in my bathroom. 2) when I’m in a rush or feel I have completely brushed all areas of my mouth, I don’t want to be presented with an negative emotion emoji if I haven’t reached the two minute mark. I know this is a subtle thing but I don’t enjoy being confronted by a frown constantly. Other than that, great product.

Not worth the money. I bought this toothbrush at the dentists office. It is a good toothbrush but the App needs some help. It is very annoying to have to put your phone on the mirror every time. The toothbrush blinks when it is time to go to s different quadrant (1 of 4) of your mouth yet the app shows 6 quadrants. It doesn’t tell you whether you have brushed sufficiently on the inside or outside of the tooth; it only tells you how much time to spend, Yet if you brush across the outside first of all uppers it doesn’t register at all. You have to stay in the correct quadrant for 30 seconds and then it blinks telling you to go on. Like I said the front on the app is it’s own quadrant but while brushing you have to remember that in terms of time it is half of the front included in the first 30 minutes. Whoever created the app must not have been into dentistry. I think just an app developer who wanted to help the company get more got their electric toothbrush! Don’t waste your time or money-get the regular one and simply spend the whole 2 minutes brushing!

Great Brush, OK App. Let me start off with how much I LOVE the toothbrush. I got the Genius X for my birthday this year. I love the accountability of the app and how I can track my progress and set challenges. However, I have a couple of problems with the app... 1. The position detection aspect does NOT work well. I feel I have to spend extra time on certain teeth in my mouth in order to get “credit” for coverage of that general area which I worry could damage my enamel. Suggestion: allow the user to tap on the correct part of the mouth on the app to redirect it. 2. After I finish brushing my teeth, I am asked if I want to proceed with brushing my tongue. I found out the hard way that if I say “sure, let’s do this!” my credit/progress for brushing my teeth gets erased. 3. I’m working on my flossing game - there is not an easy way to record gum bleeding after flossing, at least not that I’ve been able to find. So I feel my “gum health challenge” in the app is not actually tracking my progress. In the long run, these are not issues that would cause me to return the toothbrush - the clean I get is amazing - BUT I’m pretty disappointed in the some of the app functionality. I love the idea of the app, I just wish it worked better.

3D Tracking is disappointing (still undeveloped). I think that the main feature of this app is the real time support with the iO series 9 toothbrush. The rest of the app is just a statistic collection and an habit tracker. Nice (till the third week), good UI looking, but the only interesting feature, the 3D tracking, simply doesn’t work good. It’s still immature: it’s because of the firmware of the toothbrush, of course. Hoping for a fixing upgrade soon. Most of the times, it doesn’t recognize which area I’m brushing and which side of the teeth (external, internal) and this distracts me and I brush for more than 3 mins (when I should stay around 2 mins at least). OralB doesn’t provide a proper explanation of how the sensors are supposed to work and how I should start and move the toothbrush — I read the other developer’s replies and tried all the suggestions but it doesn’t work. It’s a shame that I’ve spent €200 for the only feature justified my purchases, and that gives to series 9 the premium slot between the all iO series, but it seems not working smoothly.

STILL SYNCS AWFULLY. We’ve had two of these costly toothbrushes in our household since the first of January. I’ve held off leaving a review in hopes the persistent bugs with syncing days with repeating rather than merging data over and over again would be fixed. Unfortunately with the update just released the same problems persist. It’s pretty infuriating. It’s great that it syncs now with Apple health but not great that Apple health is getting all of that bad duplicate data. I’ve methodically deleted out all repeated sessions that caused some days to look like I had over 45 minutes of teeth brushing but it keeps getting added back in. And developers, please don’t respond to me with pat suggestions that I’m not syncing the app and brush with Bluetooth correctly. I am well versed in how to do that. It’s shameful that a major company has put forth such a buggy app. A primary reason we purchased the toothbrushes was the ability to sync with an app. If I had known it was this bad, I’d not have bought them and I’d get a refund if I still could. I can’t recommend them to friends either. Fix this awful app!

Without the app, this toothbrush limits you. Not worth it.. Why do I need my phone and an app to brush my teeth? After some use with the app, I have decided to use the toothbrush without it. I don’t bring my phone everywhere with me and found that I dislike having it with me while brushing my teeth. As a result, the app is holding me back from being able to use my toothbrush. Without direct app interaction, my toothbrush restricts the modes I can use and sometimes only shuts on and off not allowing me to use the setting I need. Not only that, but when another user wishes to simply pick up the toothbrush to use is as well, they are also faced with the same annoyances. The app can not tell the difference automatically between users meaning that if you don’t log into the app and pair your phone with the brush, it will do a bunch of things that you don’t want or need it to do. If you’re like me and wish to simply pick up your brush to use it on the mode or modes of your choice as you want, the app interferes with that. Better to pass on this device. I wish we never purchased it.

Issues with syncing. I have used my new toothbrush and this app consistently for a month so far and every day when it syncs, it adds additional sessions to the previous days so it’s basically showing that the first day I used it (used it twice) now says I brushed my teeth 42 times that day. This messes up things like data sent to Apple Health and of course impacts when the brush head needs changing and it’s incredibly frustrating because I deleted many many sessions to make it all normalized and correct and when the brush syncs during a session, they all come back again and in some cases add more sessions to some days and it’s getting really ridiculous. I may just not use the app at all. What is more, I floss, brush my tongue and use mouth wash each night with the evening reminders I have set and it only stays as 1x for each for that day for about a day or two, and then erases them so essentially I cannot make any day streaks in doing those activities either even though I’ve done them every single day for like at least 40 days. Anyways, I love my tooth brush but the app is just not going to be worth my time if it’s going to mess up data and add extra/remove data for no reason and not allowing me to edit it. This really needs work.

App problems. My dentist recommended the Oral B Genius brush because it allows position detection and encourages good brushing practices. However, its use is constant frustration. The mount to a mirror for position detection is rarely secure, and I stopped using it after my phone fell to the floor one too many times. Even when I prop the phone securely and stand correctly in front of the camera , the app shows my brushing progress inaccurately by tracking the wrong part of my mouth or by advancing to full clean at a snail’s pace, which causes me to brush my teeth for longer than the recommended 2 minutes. Lately the app crashes for no reason, requiring me to restart it even while the brush continues to operate and my wifi signal is strong. Both the app and my operating system are up-to-date. Oral B would do well to improve its functionality instead of creating artificial medals and data tracking that adult users find pointless. I just want to brush my teeth!

A few issues. So the idea of this is awesome and really it mostly has nice user friendly features. But it never seems to record any of my actual sessions. During the brushing it’s great and I love it. The problems really come down to if the app closes before you click done you lose everything. Tonight for example I was all the way to the brushing my tongue step and my phone locked because it was so long. So I lost that entire session. Also took me a while to figure out I had to stop the brush before moving to the next phase or I’d lose my progress. Just some text telling you what to do next would be nice ie. ‘Tap complete to move to next phase’. A little more user experience guidance type thing. Another issue I have is that whenever I brush the backs(inners) of my molars it always seems to think I’m brushing my front teeth. So it starts counting there when I haven’t even brushed them yet. Those are my only real complaints. The rest is just regular suggestion feedback. Some more detail would be nice for the journeys. Like my daughters braces. I’d like to see recommendations on more than just settings for the brush like the motion of the brush, like circular, etc.

Very unhappy. I don’t know if I can truly express how disappointed I am in this app. The main frustration is how poor it is at detecting where I’m brushing. I don’t fault Oral-B for not being able to get this right, but they shouldn’t release an app with this feature until it is correct. As I brush my teeth, the app shows certain teeth on a display being brushed. It is often near where I am, but it is not exact, and then it claims that I missed teeth and wants to upload that information to my health app. The next most frustrating part is that, while my toothbrush divides my teeth into four quadrants (upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right) with 30 second buzzes to let me know when to change, the app divides my teeth into six quadrants (upper left, upper middle, upper, right, lower, left, lower, middle, lower, right), so there is a disconnect between how the app is instructing me to brush and how my handle buzzer is instructing me to change quadrants. Then comes to settings – the instructions and the description talks about changing the lighting and other things, none of which are able to be changed. the instructions and other settings direct you to use the website for help, but the website only provides vague general info. it is nice that the app shows you the amount of battery strength and will track when you need to charge your handle or change out your brush head, but I wonder if I will really need those reminders

Needs lots of work. I’ve had the Oral B 7000 Pro for more than four months. It has been a good addition for my oral health care. So why only one star? Because it is becoming increasingly frustrating to use the brush and the app. There are two main deficiencies. I’d gladly reconsider my rating if the following are taken care of. (1) At ever brushing now the brush keeps reminding me to change the brush head EVEN THOUGH I have already done that. There must be some way to tell the app that I’ve changed the brush head. Ideally, the brush and app should be smart enough to know that I’ve installed a new brush head. I will NOT sign up with Oral B for a new brush head automatically every three months. I don’t need to do that. (2) The app is inconsistent on many days. Approximately 1/3 of the time I use the brush, it does not allow me to record that I have cleaned my tongue, flossed, and rinsed. It goes straight from brushing to the activity screen showing how many minutes I brushed and showing zero for the other activities. Oral B, fix these two very frustrating deficiencies, or advise me what to do, and I’ll reconsider my 1 star rating.

The App can be frustrating. I replaced my 10 year old Oral B electric with the new fancy Io and it’s more expensive brush heads and app that guides your brushing. The brush feels much different than the original oral b—this one must vibrate faster—it tickles much more and generates some sensitivity in parts of my mouth (which I assume is good because it’s revealing tender gum issues). I believe it is doing a better job of more thoroughly cleaning and protecting my teeth and gums. I like the idea of options of sensitive, daily clean, extreme, fun care, etc—though I am unable to detect much difference in the brushing experience on each setting. The reason I’m writing this review is the grading/scoring on the app—IT IS BRUTAL!!! If I brush for 3 minutes, and over pressured for fractions of 2 seconds, ir will say I had 2 seconds of over pressure and ding me anywhere from like 8-18% on my score. The OCD perfectionist in my is going crazy with this. As soon as I see the slightest red I want to turn it off and start over, because i know I’m not getting an “A”. I just don’t get how I could lose 10-20% of my score when the over pressure only accounts for 1% of my brushing time. Shouldn’t I get at least a 98%?!? Also—this deduction is wildly inconsistent. I may lose 4% for a second, or I may lose 12%. What accounts for these discrepancies?!? I have no clue and obviously I hate it, or I would t be typing this review.

Great app. NOTE TO THE DEVELOPERS!!!!. Love the app. Love the brush. Please put an option for missing tooth. I have a tooth in the back bottom of my mouth and that area never gets 100% credit for cleaning. It’s frustrating. New edit after using it for a week. Still agree with my previous review. Now I am trying to get my brushing times in order. Your app doesn’t recognize that tongue clean mode shouldn’t be expected to brush teeth during. Also, it goes in with the times on the app so it messes with the average time which I am working to get down to 2 mins. Not to mention the tooth brush seems to think tongue brushing lasts 30 seconds while the app thinks it lasts longer. The sensor for where my tooth brush is seems to not understand the bottom left side of my mouth. Whenever I brush that area it seems to think I am brushing every other part of my mouth. Ontop of all this I tried to delete a tongue brushing session two different times and it deleted a regular brushing session. This app is making me want to return this brush and forget spending so much time caring for my teeth. Previous rating 4 stars. New rating 2 stars.

App works, toothbrush has flaws. *update to developer response: that’s cute. Yes my app is fully up to date. I have not been traveling. I’ve been in the same time zone for several years now. I will say the one thing I do different(as an American) is that I use 24hr time on my phone and not 12hr time. But that really should not matter. Or does it? I’m in contact with the tech team to figure out why my toothbrush is not syncing in with the right time despite having all settings correct. Work in progress. So all in all, everything is great. Everything works as it should. But there is one thing wrong with my toothbrush. It has no idea what time of day it is. It will tell me “good morning” at 10pm. I have tried everything to fix this issue. Even deleted my account and removed the app and tried to set up everything as new with still the same problem. I realize that this does not affect how the toothbrush works, though obviously when doing a set “journey” the floss and mouthwash option appear in the mornings for me instead of evenings since my toothbrush is backwards. But it would be nice if a toothbrush I spent a few hundred on actually worked as intended. And yes I contacted customer support who just said a future update will fix the issue. That was months ago.

Read if you’re looking to download this app!. It’s a great app, helps to stop being lazy, I just have one issue: its bad at detecting where your brushing. This is something that is personally very annoying for me. Whenever I’m brushing I’m doing one part of my mouth for at least ten seconds and it’s still on the wrong side!! And no, I don’t have any other Bluetooth devices connected, so that’s not the problem. Out of frustration I push a little too hard in an attempt to get it to fix to the right side of my mouth but it marks it a overpressure and deducts points from my score. I had a perfect score of 100% every time and because of the overpressure I don’t😓. Yes it might be petty to want a perfect score every time, but if it’s backed into the log I want it to be perfect. Please fix it ASAP I want my perfect score back🙏🏻

Rarely Do I Review. Guys. What is up with this update? Did anyone test it? 1) You took away the feed, like weather and news, so now it just is a timer ( more on your brush detection later) 2) You took away the words of encouragement. While not necessary as an adult, it was nice and it’s great for kids 3) After I’m done brushing, it tries to reopen another brush session; close session, it reopens; repeat. I have to close the app manually after I brush my teeth. 4) No more customization of when I want reminders of flossing and mouthwash. I don’t floss in the morning bc I haven’t eaten since last brush. This make me feel like I’m being negligent. 5) You basically removed the features that made it feel like a game and were being rewarded. Silly? Maybe, but this is an app for brushing your teeth. You’re literally capitalizing on the video game/tech generations. 6) I thought you might improve the detection mode, but no. It’s still a very small window/ angle to capture it, so basically sticking my phone dead smack center in the middle of my mirror. Please re-instate the features before this update. You literally added nothing new, made it less usable, and gained nothing from a user-POV. If I could revert back to the previous version, I would.

Brushing is now the only thing that gets me out of bed!. I am really impressed by the effort, passions, and creativity put into the Oral-B app. It makes brushing so much fun when you introduce gamification and I’m learning how to brush my teeth all over again! My teeth feel cleaner and I could already notice a night and day difference just after one brush. Brushing my teeth is the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning!!! The app interface was done very well. It’s modern, entertaining, and easy to use. Oral-B in my opinion made one of the best products that people would actually use on the daily. It’s unfortunate that it’s so expensive because so many people in the world should be able to experience the luxury of flawless brushing. Thanks for making a great product Oral-B!!!

You’ll hate brushing more after this app.. **App has improved so I’m changing my rating from one start to three** Previous review: New update didn’t sync old stats. Calendar view is gone so historical data is presented in a unintuitive list view. Also there has never been a way to input floss, rinse, tongue cleaning unless you open the app and use it throughout a brushing session. Too time consuming for most brushing occasions. Pretty disappointed because the only reason I picked this toothbrush was for the app and the app is literally not useful at all especially now that there is no calendar record. The main goal of the app it seems is to tell you whether you brushed enough in certain areas but even that doesn’t work, often times it misreads where I’m brushing no matter how precisely I align my face to the camera. That whole camera thing makes brushing more aggravating than it needs to be. Moreover the brush already vibrates to tell you when to switch areas making the camera coverage and score feature gimmicky at best.

I love this app but recent updates have introduced problems. I have looked for a place to report bugs but I get a 404 error so I figured I’d communicate here. I have been using the app for a while, I’m not a very savvy user but I have found it helpful and it’s been interesting to monitor my brushing. A few weeks ago my app started doing a count down after I was done brushing and then would not move on to the screen where I could upload brushings that were done without the app on. I had to close the app totally. Then, more recently, the app doesn’t even upload the brushing I have just done with the app on. I have checked that I am logged in and I don’t think I have changed how I am running the app so I’m thinking the changes have occurred with your recent releases. I did just discover that I could set the brushing time to 4 minutes, which I like, so I did select that. Thank you!

I like the toothbrush but the app is crap. At first I liked it. But then I started coming across the issues. It’s supposed to sync any brushing you do without the app. But that is spotty, and even if it shows a synced session in my activity, it doesn’t get counted for my streaks. And you can’t add in if you flossed or mouthwash. I shouldn’t have to open my phone every time I want to brush my teeth, I don’t have that kind of time. Sometimes during a session, I have to pause to rinse or get stuff out of my braces. Even if I resume before the 30 second window is up, the full session does not always get logged. Also, I’ve had to stop using the position detection after it simply stopped recognizing when I brushed the left side of my mouth on the FOURTH DAY of using the brush. For some reason, it always thinks I’m brushing the right side of my mouth. It’s literally impossible to complete a session at 100%! And whenever I’m brushing my bottom middle teeth, it thinks I am doing both the top middle and bottom middle at the same time. How would that even be possible? If I pay too much attention to the graphic and not to what I’m actually doing, that can lead to me actually missing the areas that it thinks I’m brushing but really not.

Great app. Oral B app without login is good but I’m excited for the developers to get the login working so I can actually connect my new toothbrush to the app and get more feedback on my brushing (sides of teeth, etc) shown in the app preview pics in App Store. This is why I bought the brush and I may ask for a refund if they can’t get this working. Edit: they’ve fixed the login issue and the app is by all means great. My one gripe is that the marketing material suggested real time feedback showing which teeth and even sides of teeth were getting brushed. It’s not that sophisticated. In focused care mode you can add more time to parts of mouth. The app provides the direction to hit those w brushing -not real-time feedback as to whether you are actually hitting all your teeth for the right amount of time or not. I understand that would be tough to do. All in all I am happy with the app. Thank you!

Great App - Could Use Some Tweaking. Overall, I love how the app tracks the time I’m spending on my teeth. There are also motivational factors like the reminders, the badges, etc. I feel like it helps me to be a little more thorough. Honestly, who knew how big of a difference tracking your teeth brushing would make! What I don’t like is that I actually have to open the app for a brushing cycle to be counted, when know the toothbrush is actually timing because if you open the app mid brush, it picks up at the correct time. Missed brushes should also be able to be logged for the days I’m traveling and using regular toothbrush or when you’re just not by your phone to open the app. It can be glitchy at times. During one brush cycle, I was in the two minute range before stopping the brush. When I stopped it, it some how reverted to 1:17..... then showing that I didn’t reach the 2min goal, and dragging the average down. I guess all this is not that big of a deal considering I’ve brushed my teeth for 30 years without app tracking. Lol

My teeth. I love using my new toothbrush, I know somedays I don’t do right. But, I wish some day I can a beautiful smile. I have parcial upper and lower ones. Not sure if I want to get implants but, there is not money in my account. I don’t want to use dentures because I want to save my 18 tooth I have left ! I really Love how this new toothbrush works. My patient gave it to me. I was like this is probably too old ! She is 89 years old but she bought it and she didn’t know how to use it. After I open that app and saw how much it costed her. I was omg $260 dlls so I better used it everyday. It seems it works perfectly. It leaves my teeth so clean and especially my tongue very pink color. Love it. I haven’t done the whitening but I’m forward to do so. Hope, they can leave and rescue my last tooth I have … )-; anyway. Thank You 🙏❤️

Date & time wrong. I got genius X, altho it cleans very well, I wouldn’t say it is that genius. The time and date of brushes are 1 day behind. I have reset couple of times, uninstalled and installed the app but still same issue. Also the overpressure is not sensitive enough, it would only turn red if I really push that hard. I hope it is more responsive regarding overpressure when brusing.

Multiple users. The app struggles with multiple users. The only way it changes is if you select setting change the colour, then change it back to your own colour. Then it saves the entire data of other users onto your phone, which you then have to delete. Meanwhile, with all this extra steps, it’s made me late for work. If you select start brushing on the app and start the device, it should pair up and know which user is brushing via the app.

I thought that the problems were all my fault. But alas, I’m not alone. The app promised so much! Well, in conjunction with the expensive toothbrush that I have purchased for me and my wife. But it cannot deliver on its promises. As another reviewer has said, two people have two different phones, but this app is unable to sync properly with both devices. Either one, but not both. And when I’m brushing my teeth, is it that difficult for the app to work out which segment is being brushed? Top right segment does not come close to the bottom left. That was today. Yesterday it was something different. There’s no consistency. It’s just as well that I know what part of my mouth I’m brushing. This app certainly doesn’t.

More then one person on app needed. We have a number of people (children without phones) who need their history kept on this app. There seems to be no way to record multiple histories on this app. Which is a big shame because that is the reason why I bought your toothbrushes with Bluetooth for my family.

I don’t get this app. I echo all the other poor reviews on this app. I don’t see any benefit from the AI functionality and I have a top of the range brush. If it uses the camera to monitor progress either provide users with better instructions on how it is supposed to work or improve the functionality. The “coaching” is poor....nothing meaningful just “great job”. Perhaps tips or guides on how to brush or floss well would add some value. I feel mislead by the advertising in the box that talks about AI functionality given my experience. It would be nice to see the developers or Oral B engage with the users and reviewers so we could feel our feedback is being heard. I rarely take the time to provide a review on a poor app but given how could this concept could beand how poor it is I felt compelled to add my voice to the others and hopefully have the feedback heard.

I love it. It’s the best app by far the best app I can think for it so you could have been a few more minutes and I thought it was good for the next couple days if it wasn’t for the last two months to see you then but you can’t do anything else and it’s hard for me but it’s hard for me if we do not want to do anything with that but you don’t have to be in your relationship or what is wrong to be done by the end👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Teething problems. The send your feedback option in the app just redirects me to the company’s homepage. The tongue clean program is not recognised as an extra when doing my normal routine. It asks me to tick a box? Why? I just activated the program and ran it for 30 sec so if the AI was intelligent it would know. Instead it thinks I should “do better next time” as it was under 2min when the tongue clean is supposed to be only 30 sec. Similarly, when I run the brush to clean it using running water, it thinks another session has started. Lots of teething problems. How about you do some participatory design and user research of how people brush their teeth. Then you’d identify these problems immediately.

Useless camera feature. Update 25 Jan: no response from the developer... I've had the Genius 9000 for over 1 month now and don't at all use the app any more, because it is too awkward and the phone bracket that you have to attach to the mirror sticks out like a sore thumb. Is there any way to use the device that I have still from my previous Oral-B (with the smiley face) with the Genius 9000? That certainly is much more useful than your app. My initial review 1 month ago: Aligning your face with the app is impossible - unless you brush at least a meter away from your sink and make a mess in the bathroom. Following the requests to have your face within the field it wants it means mess everywhere as you won't be able to brush over the sink (unless it's 2 meters deep). There is no way to zoom out. Sorry, but why develop something that is not usable in reality! Wouldn't you test it before putting an app out there? The Genius 9000 isn't a cheap toothbrush and I kind of expect to be able to use the advertised features it comes with!

Inconsistent. The idea of this app is awesome, and it has definitely made me more consistent with regularly flossing my teeth in particular, however, it regularly gets the amount of times I’ve cleaned my teeth each day wrong. It will say at the end of the day I have done it twice, which is correct, and then, the next day it says I’ve only cleaned them once the day before and 3 or 4 times that day. It also constantly takes away my streaks which is disappointing as this is what makes me keep cleaning my teeth twice a day, not being lazy and doing it once. Please fix this error. If it was a kid not getting their awards they would be very disappointed.

Great for Kids. Great way to get my kids to brush correctly and correct problems with gums while wearing Braces. An ability to view Brushing history with Parents in real time via data sharing would go a long way. Currently I have to constantly ask to see the history on there own phone

Great tool so far but... It should have different profiles for people sharing the same electric toothbrush. My wife and I both use the oral-b IO7 with different brush heads (she uses a sensitive one) and there is no way to add a user or profile. A huge oversight cause most people have two or more using 1 electric toothbrush. Specially when these IO models are so expensive!

Very glitchy and inconsistent app. Please please fix the app, oh my it was so much $$$ 😭🥺 I mostly bought this model for the extra advertised features and functions because I have receding gums and was willing to make the investment, but it’s so disappointing atm. I would recommended to anyone to just buy the standard model, the extra claims of this one don’t deliver (at the moment, I’m still holding out hope the app will be continually improved and it will be worth it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🥴❤️😅)

Okay app, interesting concept. I like the idea of the app, but there are some features I’m not sure about. Like, the app does not know if I have brushes my teeth and prompts me because it doesn’t sync unless the app is open and the toothbrush is on. Also, my daughter also uses this toothbrush, but I don’t think I can create a profile for her tooth brushing. That said, you it is fun to “gamify” tooth brushing and it makes me remember to floss, so that is good.

Toothbrush awesome. App too inconsistent.. I’ve tried deleting the app and downloaded it again but it still has too many annoying bugs. I’ve just brushed my teeth for over 3 minutes and it said I should try to brush for longer (it registered 30 seconds). Not the first time that’s happened. Also prior to my deleting and reinstalling the app was actually causing the settings in the brush to glitch. I’d set it to intensive or some other setting and within seconds it’d default back to the daily clean setting. Very annoying. However it’s a huge improvement on the 9000 app where you had to use the camera on your phone. Hopefully they’ll fix the bugs soon

Working properly now. Version 9.1.1 is a big improvement over the previous couple of releases. The timer bugs seem to all be fixed. Well done!

Great Toothbrush let down by an annoying app. I purchased the iO9 toothbrush, which is great if expensive, but this accompanying app is bit of a let down. The morning brushing session show up as evening sessions, and vice-versa, which also results in the guided sessions for your dental journeys suggest the wrong steps. The brush comes with two brush heads, but when sharing with another person, there’s no way to do that within the app. You can’t assign the brush head icon to yourself for easy identification, or a custom colour. The other user’s brushing sessions show up on your phone as unguided session, which throws off the calculations for brush head usage, and you have to manually delete them. Have to delete them a second time if your syncing with Apple Health. Not really worth the effort really.

What is the point of reviewing if you don’t listen. The previous version worked well for two people using the same handle. Now it does not. I get all of my wife’s sessions as well as mine. The review I see on AppStore says this. It is two years old. I have said this in a previous review. I gave that one two stars. This is a last try at one star. Please listen. Or write an explanation why it cannot be done. After this attempt I am left with only the option of a new brand of toothbrush

Proud Dad. My daughter loves the app……And so do I !!! 3mim 26sec. That’s an increase of 3min. The app gives her a better idea of how long to brush. Before judging her, she is 8yr old. So I’m a proud dad (and the app gives challenges and medals). I can check the progress and I no longer need to watch over her shoulder (as long as she doesn’t brush “Teddy’s “ teeth)

Upgrade to iO for a better experience. Brushing limited to maximum 5 minutes Does not auto detect starting of brushing as you need to press brush now button Before 8.4 with Truimph 9000 Countdown timer does not always work whilst brushing App devalues the brushing experience Records incorrect brushing time frequently Reported to contact centre but was more interested in going home than fixing my problem as they pretended not to be able to hear me to end the call New modern dark mode interface Can brush longer than 6 minutes

Excellent. I purchased a genius 9000 series toothbrush and installed the app two days ago after years of using a manual toothbrush. Connecting the toothbrush to the app and adjusting the settings was extremely easy and quick. I could see improvement in the removal of surface stains after the first brush and my mouth feels exceptionally clean and feels cleaner for longer. The app has helped me be aware of the few moments of overpressure and I am enjoying the daily challenge, especially the reminder to floss. Overall, I would highly recommend this toothbrush and app. One thing I would like is the ability to have different profiles on the app as my child would like to use this app but is too young to have his own phone. Also, as my first brush was at night, it appears that the app has day and night mixed up in the routine and it looks like there is no way to adjust this.

App is cr**. The toothbrush seems to work well, which is a positive and it pairs easily to the phone (another good thing) but the functionality of the app is useless. Rather too frequently it shows that I’m brushing on the OPPOSITE side of my mouth to where my toothbrush is. How am I supposed to use the feedback to brush effectively when the feedback is straight out wrong. It’s not helped by me having only 7 teeth in each quadrant and there is no way to adjust for this. Utterly rubbish. I only continue using the app as it makes less mess than when the toothbrush buzzes at the end of 30s. For me it’s a glorified timer and nothing more. Please fix it up.

Needs big improvements!. I purchased the BT specific brush so it works with the app. 8 times out of 10 it doesn’t work properly. Some days it won’t record anything at all, some days I brush for 2 mins 20, once it hits 2 mins the clock starts again. Then stop. I get a prompt that I need to brush minimum 30 seconds before it can record on my brushing history 🤷🏽‍♂️ The app is a crock of sh%t. Such a massive waste of money, time & recourse! The idea of this app is good but needs massive improvements to work with your BT brushes better.

Great concept, but falls short.. I’ve only used it a couple days and I love the idea, but the fact that you need to remain in the camera is almost impossible as you cannot see yourself after the initial setup. I wish you could see yourself throughout the process with the mouth superimposed over your “reflection

Disappointing if you have 2 handles. I’d give 5 stars for the app if I had one handle and didn’t share the handle with my wife. However I travel a lot and have two handles - one I share with my wife in the bathroom and another I have packed in my travel bag always ready to go. The problems are: * the app can only connect to one handle and I have to reconnect when I swap handles * the app can’t distinguish between differently user phones and I get my wife synced sessions as well (ie, I get 4 sessions on my app per day which looks like I am overbrushing). Seems reasonably simple. Each handle has its own Bluetooth address and the phone app also had its own unique ID. From here it’s only software. Oral-B fix these issues and I’ll give you 5 stars!

Love my new toothbrush. I am a dental hygienist and was asked to trial this toothbrush. I absolutely love it! It’s gentle easy to use, thorough and makes my teeth and mouth feel cleaner than ever. I enjoy using the app and love the reminder to brush your tongue and floss.

Really like it but tells wrong time!. I really like the app but when I go into activity and go to delete session it tells me that I brushed my teeth at 2.11 and 5.10 but it’s the wrong time! I’ve only had the toothbrush for 1 day and I just find it frustrating as I brushed my teeth at 9.30pm not the other times it was saying. Would really appreciate it if someone could update the app and make it so you can change it to your own time zone. Thanks :)

Brushing Areas. This is a wonderful app where you can set up goals to improve your brushing and flossing etc, but whenever I brush, they don’t detect on one side of my mouth which causes my brushing history to be only about halfway done. Amazing app in general, but maybe better detecting brushing area can improve.

Not as accurate as before. After the last update the guided brushing isn’t as accurate as it was. Numerous times the app thinks the toothbrush is on the opposite side of my mouth, doesn’t matter if it is upper or lower. This is frustrating, as one has to waste time moving either the toothbrush, one’s head or phone to a new location/position in an attempt to get the app to work properly. Toothbrush is an iO9

Feedback. Hi can you make an option for the smart pressure sensor light to be off unless there is a pressure issue. There is the option for different colours but not off. I use it when camping and it is blindingly bright when using at night in the dark.

Needs a LOT of work. Every time I switch modes after brushing my teeth, and go to tongue brush, my teeth brush results are cancelled as through it weren’t recording it with the motion technology. I also get random notifications when home alone sitting in bed telling me that I’m brushing too hard?! It does not explain properly how to use it and is essentially useless. Sad because the premise is so good and so is the toothbrush. You should not have released this app before making sure it works and is user friendly. Go back and do it again!

It’s frustrating. I enjoy the idea of the app as I can track my progress of my oral teeth care, however I have experienced a continual frustration where I am actively brushing one side of my mouth, and it decides to detect me brushing the other side of my mouth. Sometimes no matter how hard I try to get the detection to where I am actively brushing it doesn’t work. I have redownloaded the app, and try to stat still but nothing works. I also had an event where I accidentally pressed new head for my toothbrush and it reset when I was using the same brush head so now it’s inaccurately telling me when to replace my brush head. Could you maybe please add an undo button for the toothbrush head swap? Thanks, and I really do think the app is a good idea. Just needs a but of fixing up :)

Disappointing. Previous version worked well for my husband and I sharing the handle and now it does not. I get all his sessions as well as my own, we have given up using. I bought this toothbrush for these features but now it’s no better than any other. No point connecting to Apple Health as it’s not all my data. Every now and then when I see you have done an update I check to see if it’s fix but as yet you have not.

Poor position detection. I have used this app with my brush sporadically over the last few months. T biggest reason I don’t use it frequently is that the position detections is so terrible, I end up spending up to 5-6 minutes on brushing my teeth that should only take 2mins, just to get the app to recognize that I’ve brush all my teeth. I should be able to double-tap on a quadrant to correct the app when it shows the wrong area being brushed if they are not going to improve the position detection

The latest oral b app update version 8.6 is not performing as well as previous version. I’m pleased with the oral b toothbrush overall as it provides me with a balanced brushing routine. But it is only as good as the software and the updates provided. Lately each version seems to have glitches and oral b don’t seem to respond to the comments and feedback you provide. Version 8.6 is frustrating. I will be brushing my bottom right teeth but the screen is showing I’m brushing the bottom left side. The same is happening with the upper teeth. No matter what solution I try it doesn’t work. There’s not the same problem with the front teeth which as I brush it is showing correct coverage of the top and bottom teeth as I brush. It seems the software is not syncing properly with the camera. The Bluetooth connectivity seems to be inconsistent as well which doesn’t help either.

Superb application. This app has revolutionised my dental world. I am finding my routine is becoming impeccable with the usage of this app. When I firstly started my dental routine, I was all over the shop, but now. And finally, how I did it? This app, fantastic, wonderful and revolutionary. 😁

Underwhelming So Far. I purchased an Oral-B Smart 1 toothbrush, hoping that the smart coaching would help me improve my brushing. To be fair, I do like the toothbrush and think it is good quality as far as a basic electric toothbrush goes. But as far as I can see the app only keeps track of when I’ve brushed, flossed, gargled, cleaned my tongue, how long I have brushed for, and if I’ve used too much pressure. The sensor for detecting too much pressure is somewhat useful, but I was expecting more actual coaching for what I paid. If I only wanted to track my tooth-brushing and use a timer I could have done that myself with my prior toothbrush and a timer and notebook. It also would be great if this app had an Apple Watch extension. Having to take the phone into the bathroom and ensure the app is open every time I brush is proving a clunky process. Hopefully as I continue to use the app I might find it more useful. But so far I am underwhelmed.

I was so excited to get this brush, but.... I got the genius 9000 brush a few days ago, which is great, but the beautiful app I am saw on all the ads seems to have been replaced with something much less functional. The first time I brushed, the camera picked up my brushing pretty well but since then I get random times when it just will not register me brushing one side (my face is in the right spot), and registers the opposite side instead. It doesn’t seem to be able to distinguish between my upper and lower front teeth either, and registers as brushing both upper and lower when I’m just doing one side. I also can’t find for the life of me, where to change the colour of the ring on the handle? I really liked this feature in the promo videos but it seems to have been removed from the app? Can anyone help here?

Lost Functionality After Last Update. After the last update the app no longer syncs with my brush handle properly and sessions held on the handle no longer transfer to my phone. I have now lost weeks of brushing sessions as I don’t have my phone with me every time I brush. My handle also no longer works with the clock/time I have from a pervious brush handle. Sine the app no longer works properly there is almost no reason to use the app anymore as I cannot track my brushing properly unless I have my phone every time I brush. Please roll back to the pervious version as the new one is useless. From looking at pervious reviews I am not the only one not happy with this new app.

Amazing!!. Only day two! But omg I am good on oral hygiene but truly I was not and I had room for improvement and this tells me where I need to improve!! Everyone should get one!! Even if you have an electric tooth brush you should get this one!! It’s just amazing!! Amazing! Love love love. Thank you soo much Oral B !!

Camera tracking?. The app is supposed to track your brush. But is has a mind of its own and can be the other side of your mouth or will not go to a part of your mouth as you brush. To get full coverage you might need to brush for over 3 minutes and then it still might not show full coverage. The only good thing about it is that it makes YOU think more about your brushing.

Was great, now won’t connect!. I’ve had my tooth toothbrush for over a year. Although a pain having to open the app every time to monitor brushing/results, or sync every couple of weeks, it was working well. A few weeks ago, the brush wouldn’t connect to my phone. I deleted that pairing and set it up again although it took a few attempts and was working fine. Now, the same thing. When I connect the handle, the phone finds it when I switch the brush on but then cannot connect properly to complete the set up. Uninstalled the app thereby deleting all my history and reinstalled, still no good. A new app is coming apparently, hopefully that may fix the issue?

Impractical so far. I only got the smart 5000 toothbrush the other day and loved the idea of this app but so far it seems to just be impractical. It doesn’t seem to save my settings between brushes after it’s been turned off, so I have to reconfigure the brush modes and segments before every single use. This is beyond painful and a bit ridiculous as it removed the ability for my brush to change between settings on its own either so I can’t even use it how I want to if I ignore the app, as it HAS to be reconfigured so I can use the sensitive setting instead of only daily clean. I love the concept but so far it’s just proving disappointing. Especially considering this was a very pricey purchase and I have never owned an electric toothbrush like this before. You would think it would at least be able to save settings and actually be used without spending time between each use to reset everything

Inaccurate zones in io brush. The 3D ai function for the IO brush has 16 zones but the borders of the zones are inaccurate I am still on the sides and it thinks I’m at the front every time. Easy to miss those teeth or you just spend an extra 30 seconds brushing. No way you can complete it in 2 minutes flat without conpromising Also often randomly changes to a different location on the other side and stays there until I move the brush around.m to get it to register.

Great idea… needs some work. The idea of a smart toothbrush is a great idea, especially for the kids. It’s really painful to try to get them to (a) brush regularly and (b) brush properly. On that side I give this a thumbs up. However, the app is extremely buggy. It regularly has issues logging the right time and date. Maybe because in Australia Timezone? Apparently my 10 yo brushed 5 times on Wednesday and not a all on Tuesday?? Once they fixed those issues it will be 5 star product (which I would expect given Oral B is a 5 star brand.)

Does not sense toothbrush. Ever since the new version of the app I am unable to sense toothbrush and so app is not working. It tells me that the brush has been found but when I start brushing it doesn’t start the timer. Very disappointed

Used to be good. I purchased a 9000 series to help encourage me to brush regularly and completely. This worked fine for about 6 months until the latest update. Oral-B in their infinite wisdom decided to remove the camera tracking for the brush position detection. Yesterday I had one section of my mouth that was recorded as brushed before the toothbrush had even touched a tooth in that area. Today wasn’t much better but it was detecting the wrong position for about 60% of the brush time. As someone who requires repetition and consistency to ensure I maintain healthy habits, this update is putting my teeth cleaning at risk. Prior to the latest update I would have given 4 stars, but now it’s a worthless app. I’d prefer to follow this up directly with the company, but their support system redirects me to the local sales page so I have no way to give feedback.

Fire your app developers. As well as what everyone is complaining about, here was your chance to make the visual guide for brushing coverage better. Previously it was difficult to know if it was the inside surface, front or top of the tooth that needed cleaning, but at least you knew the general vicinity to concentrate the brush head on. Now with the app upgrade, oversimplified circles represent teeth, and it’s now confusing how you reach 100% coverage. Next time choose a developer that understands and uses your products!

Doesn’t know which teeth I’m brushing. I love my new electric toothbrush, replacing a 10 year old one. But I’m having a lot of trouble with the app/ toothbrush recognising which quadrant of my teeth I’m brushing. Not sure if it’s poorly calibrated for left handers, but when I’m brushing my teeth, the recognition jumps around randomly from segment to segment, even if I only move the brush a millimeter. Seems to have particular trouble with bottom left side of mouth. And where it thinks I’m brushing is completely random and inconsistent. Surely if the toothbrush head is facing directly down, it shouldn’t think I’m brushing my top teeth! It doesn’t matter how I adjust the angle of the brush, I usually can’t get it to recognise which segment I’m brushing. Would really like this to be remedied to accurately reflect where and how I’m brushing my teeth, otherwise what’s the point of the app?

Could be a 5 Star app.. The new version of the app looks really good but it also has a lot of bugs to be fixed. The first bug that needs fixing is the app says I’m doing the evening session when I’m brushing in the morning and the morning session in the evening. 2nd bug that needs fixing is after brushing teeth it won’t go back to the home screen without having to close the app down and reopen it. Please fix these issues and this could be a great app again.

The app has more holes than my teeth!. All joking aside, while my Oral-B toothbrush is doing a good job of cleaning, this app really needs improvement. The simple job of tracking brushing sessions while active, and syncing old sessions, just fails to work most of the time. In some cases manually attempting to sync adds *some* sessions, while at other times it does nothing, or (in at least one case) actually *removed* sessions from the app!

Complicated. Make easier display Paige

Newest update is broken. Since the last 2 updates the app no longer records your brushing. It shows it while you brush, even getting to Perfect Coverage, but the next screen shows 0 coverage and suggests you brush longer. Big cavity in the design.

Improve. There are no instructions for setting up the optical guide, distance or level or orientation. The words Ensure Face is in Clear View do not help with centring your face in the correct position. A circle with a centring dot would be helpful!

Cool app. Great app works well

Needs complete overhaul. Terrible upgrade. Totally useless No longer user friendly. Took away all user features I’ve deleted the app

Complicated app and not monitoring. This app is too compartmented not very user friendly. Above all there is no monitoring feature that links to Apple Healthkit.

Bad Update. Horrible update. Doesn’t track properly, no calendar, no news...what’s to like? Please go back to the old version!

Unreliable. I’ve been using this app with my new brush for a week now. It seemed like a good tool with the pressure points and areas that you need to pay attention to (although not very accurate). But all the data/score/ tracking history is gone/erased from the app after just a few days. Have to reset/restart all over again.

Got into too many errors when registering account. Got into too many errors when registering account

The Position Detection needs work!. The position detection algorithm needs work. The detection area is too small and constantly tells me that I’m out of position. I’m using this with an iPhone XS, so the camera shouldn’t be an issue. I’m 6’3” and have positioned the phone holder at various positions, and within minutes of brushing the app tell me that I’m not in position even when I haven’t moved my face. It needs a larger face detection area on the phone or it needs a feedback device on the screen when you are about to leave the detection area.

I love this it’s so good. This is so nice keep up the great work

Ai needs a rework. While the app is good itself, the ai isn’t. Let me explain, whenever I brush my teeth near the spot I want to brush it on (let’s say the top right teeth) it registers it as if I am brushing the bottom left part of my teeth. I’ve lost many chances trying to get a 100% coverage because of this. Oh and for the love of god, nobody brushes that quickly under 2 minutes. It’s impossible to get a 100% coverages with 0 over pressures in under 2 minutes.

Improvement needed. The app syncs well and easily with the toothbrush. The position recognition is not always reliable, sometimes indicating the opposite side of where the brush is being used and sometimes not advancing as the brush advances. The app syncs with the Apple Health app, after lots of user input, but does not provide any useful information. Flossing and rinsing cannot be added manually. The app indicates the brush head should be replaced after three months - but indicates this after only two months of use. The app seems to have potential to be useful, but needs a bit more programming work.

The app is bugged. I brush 100% of my teeth then the app give me 0% of coverage… paying 200$ a toothbrush i would expect more

Needs improvement. An app with lots of potential. 1. No option to manually add flossing, rinsing, and tongue cleaning. Also adding a timer for rinsing would be very helpful. 2. The position detection does not always work properly. 3. No HealthKit support. 4. App needs to provide instruction/guidance when used at first as it takes time to get used to.

Horrible update. I definitely preferred the previous version. I was able to use the timer and read news and facts while brushing. Now it is mandatory to use the camera on my phone to brush which is hard for me when I am in the bathroom with my toddler who wants me to sit when we are brushing. Also, I had to create a new login because I couldn’t log in with my email and password. It kept saying error when I tried and the forgot password function didn’t work either. Please bring back the previous version functionality and options.

Oral-B app. The Oral-B app is awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome

Does it even work?. There must be a firmware update because there’s no way P&G doesn’t have the resources to hire good programmers - or maybe they don’t bother. Honestly, if you expect to use the timer, go to the dollar store and buy a digital timer because $1 is far more effective than the cost of the Bluetooth module.

Charging level. Hi Could you please add the toothbrush charging level/percentage to the app?

Needs work. There needs to be an option to teach it your brushing style. It is rarely accurate, showing that I am brushing in a different area than I am. It should be simple to allow you to correct it by touching the section of teeth that you are actually brushing. It would then become far more accurate over time. I am now brushing for far longer than I should, just so I can get complete coverage on the app.

Fonctionne pas parfaitement. Je dois faire un reset à chaque début de brossage! Sinon c’est super!

Does not accurately detect brushing position. The brush side detection is very inaccurate… Sometimes it shows I brushed one side fully while I haven’t touched it at all

Application Oral B. Ne semble pas compatible avec la montre Apple. Mise à jour requis

Update for the app. I like the old version better, at least I could read a little bit of news

Great. So far, seeing visual brushing for two minutes, makes me realize how lazy I was, befitting using this system. My teeth, super clear and whiter

Date and time change. It’s an amazing app, but for some reason the date is off for the history part. It’s telling me the date is December 31 1999, when cleverly it’s July 10, 2022. But for the replacement date of the brush head, it’s accurate. And no option to change the date.

Enable Dark Mode!. Good app overall but having dark mode interface would be a game changer!

Needs a bit of work but not much. I echo many of the reviews that point out the shortcomings but I do think it works as advertised. I DO want HealthKit support. This strikes me as a trivial matter and would add a functionality that means something to me. HealthKit is about tracking and it seems to me to be astounding that this is not part of the app.

Language is wrong. App uses the region eating instead of language setting… This means if you want to use your phone on the metro in Japan and you set your region to Japanese to do so even if you keep your language as English while every other app stays as English this app for some reason swaps to Japanese. Also the contact dev link is dead…

App with potential. Position detection doesn’t work very well, which is a downer, cause I really like that, but it results in me getting low scores and not getting achievements and not properly tracking my brushing so it’s almost like what’s even the point of using the app?? App needs a rework

Need to fix. The fact that I bought the more expensive model for the Bluetooth tracking and having it not work probably is extremely annoying. Sometimes its brushing the completely different side according to the app. Please fix it…

Love the app but needs some extra !. Wish there was an option to listen too music through the app and a timer for using the mouth wash !

Epic. Good for getting the job done especially with oi 8

Amazing but. I brush for four minutes and 30 seconds but it’s not only brush for one minute

Still no history sync from the brush to the app. Do you realize how ridiculous it is to take a phone in the bathroom and manually record a session? It synced great before this major update and it is still not working after the minor updates.

Awful compared to previous. This new app is terrible when compared to the previous iterations. The marketing department chased fancy graphics and modern colors, and neglected (frankly downgraded) the performance of some of the key value propositions of the app. Previously the camera assisted brushing worked much better, with faster, more accurate tracking. In addition, even when using the camera mode, the toothbrush will still notify you every 20 seconds, despite the fact that the camera mode encourages you to stay in one zone for 25 seconds before moving - and that’s when it’s being accurate! Sometimes it can take 30 seconds or more to complete a zone because of how poor the camera tracking is. These issues were not present in the older version of this app. Definitely a major step backward for the sole purpose of attracting people who want a ‘sleek and sexy’ tooth brushing app. Think about how dumb that sounds. People want an app that helps them improve their health, and that starts with making one that works well. Oral-B had one a month ago, then threw it away for this junk.

Previous version was better. After using the current version for a couple of weeks I just deleted it. It’s inaccurate and annoying.

New at this. I have been an Oral-B brush user for several years. I kind of thought it wasn’t doing a good job for a while and laid off it. My wife however, kept using hers and then she came and told me it wasn’t working right anymore either. I decided maybe it was a good time to get two new ones. So I went to Costco and got the package deal they have there. wow what a difference in the old brush and the new. Even my my wife remarked on how much better she liked it. So I started using the app right away and was pleased to get some good advice on usage from the app to stop my gums from bleeding. now the bleeding has stopped and I am enjoying watching the app work while I am brushing my teeth very good

Spending too long brushing.. The app is not bad. It helps me track how well my new braces are doing. However, one major flaw is that on one of the sides (for me it’s left for my lower jaw and right for my upper jaw) is always registering as the middle or the other side. The other side also has this problem where it registers as brushing the middle. Because of this, I often spend way too much time brushing my teeth. It also removes the utility of the brush tracking because I cannot tell what I have actually brushed and what I haven’t. This makes me spend more time brushing to make sure that I’m not missing any spots. The most annoying thing about all this is that the reminders have the audacity to tell you that you have been brushing for more than recommended and to be careful not to brush for too long. This just annoys the heck (I’m 13) out of me. Sorry for the essay, but this is a real issue for me that needs to be fixed. If not, then it may be more healthy if I just don’t use the app.

Useless app. An absolutely worthless app. The position detection never works, always shows the incorrect area being brushed on the app and finally even after 4 mins of brushing, the end result is that I haven’t completed by brushing properly.

Format change and position. Don’t like updates automatically and the camera position doesn’t always work

Buyer Beware. To use the “smart” features of your iO toothbrush, you have to agree to give uo your privacy. This company will collect personal information, health information, and other personal PRIVATE details if you want to use the “smart” feature, ie the brush assist app. Ridiculous. Why a company needs information (including, if you have children, what or how many diapers your child uses - um…?) and information from the health app including your basic information (ehight, weight, etc). They will use it all to market to you AND they share it with 3rd partys. Read their privacy policy and understand what you are giving up. Not only that, but when you buy the actual toothbrush, they indicate features without warning you that to use them, you need to agree to this total invasion of privacy. Ive deleted the app. I wish i could have my money back from the toothbrush purchase as you simply cant use the product as advertised without agreeing to their privacy policy. We should all be paying attention to what these companies are requiring and make sure you are making educated choices about what info you actually want to give up. I’m really not sure at all how height/weight/heart rate/bp etc are in any way necessary to advise you if you have covered all the teeth in your mouth when brushing! smh.

Awful. If I could give it a negation star I would. 1. Camera positioning: most difficult 2. Previous progress and medals: gone 3. No option to manually add routines: sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t Go back to the old app or fix this one! People have paid a lot of money for this product and we expect it to work as advertised

Terrible Compared to Old App. The new update to this app could be your downfall. It’s honestly terrible in comparison to the old app. They took out the news and updates. Medals have been taken out as well. The biggest issue for me is that the old app worked whether you had a Bluetooth toothbrush or not. I don’t have a Bluetooth toothbrush and this app no longer works with my brush. Please go back to the old app.

Best Toothbrush ever. Run away from any other brush!!! Most expensive, and worth it!

Positioning needs tuning. Doesn’t work all the time

HealthKit now supported. Thanks for adding support for HealthKit.

HealthKit support?. Reasonable and functional app ... a little too heavy on the hard sell. Please Consider implementing HealthKit support? (iOS 13: Health App --> "Browse Tab" (below) --> Other Data --> Toothbrushing)

AI and Sensitivity needs rework.. The AI rarely gets the position of where the actual brush is right. Now with the latest update and the increase sensitivity function, I’m ready to delete the app altogether. The sensitivity is so finicky that I went from getting 95-100% to 88-90 just because it want more pressure but the light on the handle is showing green. Needs to go back to the drawing board.

👍👍. Very very useful and is super easy to understand

Stop Deleting My Review. My review has been removed 20+ times now. Why?!? They are just obviously trying to cheat there data to make their app seem better. Anyways, my review I repost every time will be below. Can’t keep track of brushes at all. Always incorrect with ludicrous numbers. I brush my teeth 2x a day. It’ll mark on it saying I brushed upwards of 30x a day. That, or it just clears my entire calendar summary so it looks like I never brush. I have had this issue for over 2 years now. This is absolutely ridiculous. I see the same issue being talked about in the reviews, so it’s obviously an issue. Every time, I get the same response. “Update the app”, “sync your toothbrush”, and now I’m seeing “we just updated and fixed the issue”. Obviously you didn’t or people still wouldn’t be making reviews in regards to this problem. I want a real response. Not this (my apologies) bull that you keep feeding us. An actual answer. Please.

Missing a critical feature - please fix!. Two months later and still no consideration or fix!!!??? The Oral-B Genius Electric Toothbrush has the ability to change the color of the Smart Ring via this app. However this light is very bright and there is no ability to turn it off when the brush is brushing normally and not detecting too much pressure. Please add the feature to have the light off during general brushing with only the red pressure sensitive red alert light turning on when one presses too hard. We have a family member with a sensitivity to light stimulus before bed and having to tape over the light ring is both unhygienic and makes it impossible to see the red light when pressing too hard. Perhaps a slider to adjust the brightness of the lights on the bush with a toggle to turn off the “running” light ring? Please, please, add this option! Thank you!

Disappointed. Have old review from old oral Below - & thought I’d try new brush - but disappointed again - as new handle seems to know where I am in my mouth but NOT at the beginning & then switched / but does not really seem to be giving accurate info mrnation tegarding my brushing like the Sonicare does - that directs where to brush This below is from before with older brush I returned I still do not understand - how the set up - could be just from the camera in my phone⁉️ & not any info from the tooth brush handle itself - is what determines - how well I am brushing my teeth⁉️ - it seems there is No timer - I do not understand how to get help with understanding how to get it out of one setting to another as the setting button on the brush handle - doesn’t seem to work - wondering if there is a number you can call to get help with the set up of this brush ⁉️🙄

Position Detection Accuracy Reduced after Recent Update. While I believe the Oral-B app is great overall, I’m a bit disappointed in how much the position detection accuracy decreased after a recent update to the app. Often, the app believes I’m brushing the front top or bottom teeth when I’ve simply moved to the top or inner surface of any of the four outer quadrants. This means that I often have to brush certain sections, and overall, longer than would be necessary to adequately brush a given section of my teeth. I’m hopeful that this can be improved with future updates. I do like that the app now allows me to check off flossing and using mouth rinse manually post-update. Prior to the update, the app would sometimes skip allowing me to mark them as complete because being able to do so was an automated pop-up that didn’t always populate.

Kind of stupid app. It struggles to even keep track of which side of your mouth you’re brushing. So that’s unhelpful if you’re using to ensure you’re covering everything adequately. It also makes a huge deal about using too much pressure but gives you no indication you’re close to using too much pressure. It’s like a traffic light that has no yellow. It goes from green to red without warning. If you want to avoid the red you’d never even use the green pressure. It also makes a big deal out of as little as 2 seconds of slight over pressure in 2.5 minutes of brushing. And then asks if your gums are bleeding. Ridiculous. If they wanted to help you reduce over pressure they’d tell you when you’re getting close. Not wait til it’s too late. Dumb app. Skip the app.

App needs improvement. **update** since I can’t (or don’t know how) to reply to the developer comment, I’m putting this here....in the section stated by the developer, it clearly states “while brushing without the app connected”. My entire point was to have the app open to track brushing coverage while still having the quad pacer work on the brush OR to have the app track this information without having to be open. In order for you to get the “coverage” stats of your brushing session, the app needs to be open while brushing. The problem with that is the quad timer on the toothbrush is disabled if the app is open. For me personally, if I’m watching the timer on the app, I’m not getting proper coverage on all my sections and I’m also pressing too hard. I had almost no extra pressure when relying solely on the toothbrush quad pacer, but am unsure if my coverage stats which would be helpful.

Next Level Oral Care!!!. My dad & uncle were dentists and we have had so many electric brushes growing up. They would throw them at us at trade-shows. My Oral-B 7000 Black is quite simply the best brush that I have ever had, it leaves me feeling almost like I had a dentist cleaning every time. I would know as I had them at least once a month growing up! While the brush alone is great, the pairing with this app makes it incredible! My teeth and gums have felt the best they have had in years. I have followed my coaching with this app religiously and both myself & my dentist are noticing results. Give it a shot, it is super easy to use and can help improve your oral health!

Changed my whole brushing routine.. I had a severe infection in my gums that was really starting to effect my health so, I went to the dentist. Talked to my hygienist and she actually is the one who talked me into it when really I got approved for a little extra finical aid so hey why not I could always use another toothbrush right? This thing changed everything now I enjoy brushing my teeth I actually feel like it’s cleaning my teeth. It was a bit much at first cause of the Bluetooth and set up but it honestly has helped me remember to brush I don’t mind it now because of how clean it feels and looks. My infection is gone now with no signs of returning back my teeth are cleaned every night and morning. It was well worth it guys. Well worth it.

Oral-B Position Detecor. This app is a great tool and I use it for all my brushing sessions, however most of the time this I use the app I have just used the timer. As of the last few months I started to use the position detector feature. I think this is an excellent concept however the features does not work well at all. This app does not do a good job at detecting what position I’m at in my mouth while brushing. What’s the point of having a feature if it doesn’t work. I usually do not complain, however ever since the new app update the position detector feature has seemed to get worse. It is getting to the point where this is actually really frustrating. I have had this new update for about 2 days and out of that time the position detector has not worked properly at all. The older version of the app worked way better than this. My frustration is really making me not want to use the app anymore. Hope you figure out a way to fix this feature.

Position detection doesn’t work. I have only had the toothbrush for about two weeks and I really want to like this app but I don’t. I love the idea of the position detection but it doesn’t track correctly. One-third of the time, I’m brushing the sides of my moth it thinks thinks I’m on my front teeth. Another third the time, it doesn’t register any of the teeth being brushed. The timer is still going so it registers the toothbrush is working but it can’t tell where. I’ve tried everything I can think (exaggerating the position of the toothbrush, tilting my head different ways, etc.) to get it to track correctly and it won’t. I haven’t had any trouble with the app crashing or the timer stopping but I have noticed the streak and gum detection histories aren’t constant. Yesterday, the gum detection registered for 0.6 seconds but today I was told I made it 10 sessions with triggering it. I haven’t tried any of the journeys yet so I don’t have an feedback on those.

Best toothbrush ever!. I can’t believe that I’m writing a review about a toothbrush. However, my mouth has never felt so fresh. I have the Oral-B IO 8, and it’s amazing! 1. The app shows guides you through each brushing session. You can see if you’ve brushed all of your teeth and if you’re applying too much pressure. It also tracks the history of your brushing sessions. 2. The toothbrush itself is easy to maneuver. Although it’s bigger than my old electric toothbrush, the power of the IO is amazing. My mouth feels like i just had a cleaning at the dentist office every time I brush! 3. Long lasting clean and a fresh mouth all day is the most amazing thing about my toothbrush. I can drink coffee, eat breakfast and lunch and my mouth still feels fresh! I’ve been so amazed and excited about my toothbrush and have been sending links to friends to purchase one. The toothbrush is just that amazing. If you’re on the cusp about purchasing, pull the trigger! My IO is the best purchase I’ve made all year. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase the full package with extra replacement brushes.

Useless - Can’t Connect Toothbrush to App. I have the Oral B 6000, and no matter what I do, it won’t connect to my iPhone XS Max (running iOS 12.1.2 - the latest from Apple). When I first bought the toothbrush a year ago, I was able to connect to my iPhone 7 Plus without an issue, but now, a year later, the app is worthless on newer hardware. Without being able to connect to my phone (or iPad, for that matter), I’m unable to customize the brush (i.e. change the color of the sensor, etc.). Help articles on the Oral-B website are useless. I’ve restarted my phone, disconnected other nearby Bluetooth devices, turned Bluetooth on the brush on and off, even fully charged the toothbrush to eliminate the issue, to no avail. I hope they can fix whatever issues this app has in future iterations, otherwise, having a tech enabled toothbrush just isn’t worth the extra $$.

Great but 1 problem. I really like this app. It helps me brush for longer and more consistently than ever. I love that it syncs to my Apple health. The only problem I have with it is that you can enter that you cleaned your tongue, used mouth wash and flossed even though it has a measure for it. It just end up saying it was not done. I love that I can take a report to my dentist but the problem is that it is inaccurate due to the problems I just mentioned. The other issue I have is if you switch the brush mode the timer starts over again and only gives you time credit an stats on what you do after the timer restarts. If I switch modes I want both modes to show or if I did it by accident while trying to turn the tooth brush off I don’t want it to count as if I didn’t brush at all.

Horrible app. Fix the date problem. It’s not January 1st, 2000 at 1am every time I brush my teeth. Something that simple would fix some of the problems I would think. My phone has the correct date and time as ALL other apps can agree on. None of the history is correct because of this. Frustrating that this goes past the quality assurance testing. This is on an iPhone 11 with updated iOS and latest Oral-B app. Edit: After brushing unguided for a while the date was recorded correctly by the toothbrush when synced. The old dates from 2000 are still there even though I have tried to remove them from the app. Next time I sync they come back. At least the new brushing sessions are coming in with correct time and date both when brushing unguided and guided. Changed the rating up to 3 stars.

So much improved in last update. I had left a previous review from 2 updates ago about the app registering time and then discarding it, or stopping timing due to connectivity issues. The app updated soon afterwards with what I thought might have been a fix but it was horrible. The 30 second pause timer did not work. The ok button took so long to acknowledge that it got pushed multiple times in frustration and it was getting to the stage of app abandonment. Then you updated once again and it has been almost perfect. The app has not made a mistake in the last 4 days and the screen response is great. The reduced button pushes are appreciated. Simpler is better.

Eh.... Keeps cutting me off in the middle of sessions, saying I brushed less than two minutes, meanwhile the timer is still going. I have to delete the session and open the timer back up to pick up where I left off. No way to go back and edit whether or not you brushed tongue, flossed, or rinsed. Sometimes it doesn't ask if you did. I don't care for the "averages." I wish it would just say "Flossed 7 times this week" instead of averaging because if you start using the app in the middle of the week, it will drag your average down, even if you are doing the task every day. So, when you look at it, it says you only floss on average 3 times a week. I suppose if you use it for long enough, the lower numbers will drop off, but it's just pretty annoying when ours trying to see how you're doing. In response to developer: My iOS is up to date.

Love it!. I love this app! While brushing, I always forget what part of my mouth and teeth I brushed and if I brushed enough. This app really helps make sure you are brushing accurately, in all areas, as well as length of time, as well as if you’re brushing too hard or not! It really really helps! It kind of makes brushing fun! Brushing your teeth is boring. You stand there for a few minutes doing nothing .. so this helps you focus on something as you brush! Instead of being bored and trying to rush through it. It is also a reminder to brush and floss and use mouth wash. I love this app! And I love my oral b Bluetooth toothbrush!!

The app is acting foolish not allowing me to.... The app is acting foolish not allowing me to be able to log my flossing, tongue brushing, or rinsing. Before your app was great but since the recent update sometimes the selection for floss, tongue and rinse come up and sometimes they don’t so I can’t track those accurately. There is no reason you can’t modify this app so we can go into the app and make correction as now your app immediately closes out without allowing me to check flossing, tongue brushing or rinsing is complete. I never go without brushing and flossing my teeth rinsing my mouth or brushing my tongue but because of your recent update my dentist would never know it. You should make the app allow us to go in and correct that in case we hit skip in error because as of now we can’t go back in and fix it and when the app doesn’t bring it up we cannot add it. This is crazy your new update does NOT allow us to manually start the timer anymore in case we are traveling and don’t have our electric toothbrush with us. If we have a manual toothbrush we should be allowed to start the app manually!!!!!!!! Go back to the original app I had before these recent updates corrupted the ability to accurately track our habits for our dentist report!!!!!!!!!!

Toothbrush is phenomenal, app needs work. Toothbrush has made me want to brush my teeth for just how clean my teeth feel afterwards and how it doesn’t make my gums bleed even though I have receding and sensitive gums (I’m taking care of it). Buy the toothbrush x100 !! The app. Doesn’t track days brushed correctly. If I stop the brush to spit out some toothpaste it assumes I’m finished brushing and gives me a bad score even though I was almost done. Then I’ll go in again and it’ll start counting a whole new session that is only going to last me like 10 seconds to just finish up. Got the toothbrush and app 2 days ago and somehow I have a miraculous achievement that I came back and used the app after a week. Idk app is finicky. When it works it’s spectacular but when it doesn’t its one of those first world problems that I’ll deal nbd with but hope gets fixed soon!

Inaccurate. This app is starting to document inaccurate sessions! There has been a few times were I would brush longer than 2 minutes and then when it's time for my next session, it tells me that I need to brush longer because I've brushed for a duration less than the previous session. Which isn't accurate at all. This is happening too frequently! What's the point of using the app if it's going to document my sessions inaccurately! Furthermore this app needs to allow manual updates for instances like this and or when you've brushed but didn't use the app. This app is extremely limited!

Great Tooth Brush / Brave New World !. I honestly thought that a tooth brush connected to my phone was going to at best be a gimmick. I am pleased to say I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s a brave new world and it has clean teeth and better gum health thanks to the IO 7 toothbrush. I have crowded teeth and I build a lot of tarter. I have been using a sonicare but every time I went to the dentist for a cleaning they would tell me how much I was missing so I decided to try something new and I’m glad I did ! The dentist also recommended to add Listerine ultra care. And care and Colgate total F/S toothpaste as well. I can honestly say I have never been as certain I am brushing my teeth correctly. And my mouth has never felt so clean. Thanks IO 7 😁

Don’t Like the Camera Requirement. I DO NOT LIKE THIS NEW UPDATE! I miss the old app! The camera does not seem to be very accurate. I find that when I’m finish brushing my bottom teeth it says that I have already completed some of the top portions of my teeth which is not accurate. Sometimes it’ll take 30 to 40 seconds of me brushing one small section of my teeth for that area to show that I have brushed it completely. Today I was brushing the right side of my mouth for 30 seconds and it kept indicating I was brushing the left side (which had already been completed!) At that rate it’s taking about 3 minutes or more to completely brush my teeth. I also don’t like having to hold my phone in one hand while I brush my teeth with the other hand. The toothbrush came with a phone holder that I could attach to the mirror. But after not using it I threw it out about two months ago. Please fix this app!

Toothbrush is awesome, this app is not.. Let’s forget about the old looking design and the poor UX. The thing that I really hate about this app is the lack of session editing. If I brushed without the app, the app only sync brushing sessions without tongue cleaning , floss and rinse. So after a while of keeping your streak, you can lose it in a heartbeat. Yesterday, I brushed without the app and I lost almost half a year of tongue cleaning, flossing and rinsing streak... also it’s hard to keep the brushing streak since the app decide for you the time of day so if you came home late, it shows that you are brushing in the next day and missed your evening brush yesterday, again without the ability to edit the sessions. Now I just don’t care anymore, I will brush without the app from now on because I really don’t see the point.. if I can’t get the achievements, I don’t really need an app to help me with my routine.

Update wasn’t & still isn’t ready!. I’ve been using this app for a while and generally really liked it, but I’m not sure what was gained from this update, and it seems like a lot of things have been lost. Most importantly, I have been unable to login and sync my data since the first update to the new version. Two “bug fixes and performance” updates later, that remains the case. Can’t login or reset password. It’s a mess. I check every day for a new update and am disappointed each time. Also, the position detection function seems useless and is completely inaccurate. It seems like a cool function, but it doesn’t actually seem track where in my mouth the brush head is, at least not well. And yes, I’ve calibrated and managed to keep the phone still and mouth in range.

Good app with only minor bugs. Let me preface this review by saying this app is very good and I am only pointing out the bugs in hoping the developers can fix them in the next version. There are a few timer bugs. If you start brushing BEFORE you open the app, the digital timer shows the correct brushing time but the circular graphic timer is wrong. If I always leave the app open (to avoid the timer issue), the phone battery drains faster. The app will occasionally lose it’s Bluetooth connection and when this happens the app timer ends and indicates you didn’t brush long enough. Instead, it should attempt to resync and continue the timer. This happens sometimes if I am right next to the phone so it doesn’t appear to be caused by Bluetooth range issues.

A decent app, but a few easy flaws to fix. The only issues I have with this app are as follows: It doesn’t let you know as you select after brushing how many times you’ve brushed your tongue, flossed, or rinsed when you’re selecting what you’ve done at the end. This can have be a problem if you’re not aware if the count is correct, like if you mis-clicked the button. Plus, the start of the day is 6 am for this app. When my routine changed, my count per day was off. Showing a count could help. Also, if you get out of the app for any reason while it’s counting time for brushing, the count can be incorrect. This is worse when you brush without the electric toothbrush. Other than that, this is a great app! Sometimes I get news from this app than from other sources.

GARBAGE. I loved the old version of this app. It worked perfectly for me. This version has big problems. The timer always cuts out before I’m done brushing, usually a little after 2 minutes. Sometimes a little before 2 minutes. That almost never happened with the old version. So, the app will report that I didn’t brush long enough when, in fact, I did. This version seems to have lost the “syncing previous sessions “ feature that the old version had. This means that my correct brushing times no longer get updated from the handle. Finally, when I click on one of the menu buttons, it takes several seconds for anything to happen, especially the History button which seems to take forever to open. This app also seems to have lost the ability to delete a session, something I found useful in the old version.

Brush keeps returning to default settings. I’m not sure if this is a problem with the app or my brush handle. I don’t need all the modes available on my Genius six-mode handle (I only bought it because I saved a lot of $$ buying this brush at my dentist’s office), so I use the app to disable the ones I don’t use. I also find that 2 minutes is inadequate, so I set my target brushing time to 3 minutes. When the brush was new (Aug 2020), it worked fine, but over the past year or so, the brush handle keeps “dropping” my settings and reverting to the factory default settings. To say the least, I’m not amused that I have to repeatedly get into the app and reapply my preferred settings. Was there an app update that ‘broke’ my otherwise very good device? If so, how can I undo that update?

This App used to be good.... This app has gone through an evolution of sorts. It started off not bad. Then it got kind of glitchy by ending your session while you were still brushing. Then they fixed that and added some other little bells and whistles that I really wasn’t interested in but hey, if lenses that make you look like a tiger brushing your teeth is your thing, then go for it. Then they changed the whole look, feel, and designe of things so it was like learning a new app all over again. Sometimes it doesn’t even register that I’m in a brushing session, sometimes it drops my session, sometimes it will register my session as paused, and sometimes it will only register a 20 second session. Sometimes pausing and unpausing my session fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn’t. All I’m saying is, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Because now it needs to be fixed. It was a good app. Now, not so much.

Happy. So after many attempts from my dentist to get me to use one of these toothbrushes, I finally broke down and got a Genesis X. I must say I love it and I almost enjoy brushing my teeth again like I did when I was a kid. I actually did enjoy brushing my teeth as a child LOL. That being said, throughout the years of playing sports another reasons, I have lost some teeth and wear a partial for a section of my mouth. I wish there was a way to input missing teeth so it doesn’t read 80% or 90% in whatever section is missing some teeth. Other than that I have not one complaint at all about this app or the toothbrush itself. I only complain that I never got it sooner. LOL

AI App needs work. This app has not worked well for me since I started using my new AI Oral-B toothbrush. I even ran a test to where all I did was brush my front teeth only and none of the back and it never turned white the whole time that I was brushing. When I brush in the back areas, it seems to work fine and shows that I am brushing correctly, but whenever I move to the front, it always shows that I need more work. The toothbrush itself I really like with all the selections that are available on it but the AI app needs a lot of work to correctly pinpoint where it is that I am brushing. Until that time I have to give the app only 2 stars because it does still keep me brushing, flossing, brushing my tongue, and making sure that I use mouthwash.

Doesn’t track and disconnects. I don’t normally post reviews but this is just so bad I had to make an exception. This app is supposed to track you while you brush your teeth, but it never seems to determine correctly where I’m brushing. No matter how i angle my toothbrush it never tracks it correctly. It always seems to do the opposite of what it should. If I don’t move it thinks I did, and if I do it thinks I didn’t. Make it make sense. It sometimes disconnects entirely and goes to the finished page while the toothbrush is still going! Why it thinks I'm randomly done midway through brushing my teeth is a mystery. That ultimately affects your daily score, which I’ll admit is a great incentive to being more meticulous about your overall oral hygiene. But if my daily score is incorrect then what’s the point in using the app? I contacted Oral-B for support and they basically said there’s nothing they can do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was skeptical at first but.... Being in my 40’s I felt a little old to be using a “Bluetooth” toothbrush but the techie in me had to give it a whirl. I have been a terrible and infrequent brusher my entire life, so what did I have to lose? I took a leap and purchased the Oral-B Genius toothbrush and when I received it, I immediately installed the app and gave it a 2 minute test drive. I just have to say this, my teeth have not felt this clean since I had my last cleaning! I am absolutely amazed! This app gives me guidance and structure to tailor my oral hygiene as if it were my own personal, in-home Dentist! I cannot say enough great things about this app and the Oral-B toothbrush. I only wish I had tried this a long time ago. I’m an Oral-Believer! #teamoralb #oralbeliever

The latest update is awful. I rarely give such a negative review but this update is absolutely awful. First of all it lost my account so I had to sign in again and it seems to have lost all my data except for that which is been sent with Apple health. Then there is the annoying desire to watch me brush which really doesn’t work very well and which in the previous version I could turn off. It also seems to have stopped the brush from vibrating every 30 seconds so I actually have to watch the timer to know when to switch zones. Please make this simple, bring back my old data and just let mom know that my brushing in a simple manner. After using the-new version since it came out I get a notice that it hasn't seen me in ten days. I also found how to turn off the position stuff. Blue lettering on a dark blue background is a brilliant design choice. It also only appears while you are brushing, another brilliant move. There is more but I have not heard back on my previous comments. I finally got a response from the developer and it was a generic email with a phone number for contact. They have no email address for me to send information to and they gave no indication that any of my complaints have been listened to or resolved. It also took weeks for them to respond. This is just really bad.

Has Potential, But Lacks Clarity and Feels Cluttered. I love the idea of this app but it’s not very intuitive. I think it does a good job of showing me where the brush is in real time (though I wish it knew back/front/top of teeth) and it’s very helpful to show what section I need to work on, etc. However, I don’t feel like I’m able to use this app to the full potential. Where it shows the summary of my brushing session, there is a spot for flossing and rinsing, but it’s not clear how to add this data so it’s left blank. Also, when I do the tongue cleaner or the gum massage setting, it tells me I haven’t brushed my teeth well for that session and gives me a bad score even though I’m not using a teeth brushing setting. It’s also not clear how the brushing assessment works? It just tells me it’s an option with no instructions. When you click it, there’s just a circle that shows up. I think overall this app feels cluttered (why do I need to see a giant button saying I’m connected to the Apple Health app? I connected it, so this should stop being the first thing I see...) It’s just frustrating to buy a great toothbrush with all these features and then feel at a loss when I actually try to USE the features. This desperately needs a UI update.

Great App Idea but..... I love the idea of the app and it makes it fun. I see that the app much be working great for a lot of people but unfortunately for me it is inconsistent. If I look back at the days I brushed it shows 3 days ago I brushed 5 times, 2 days ago I brushed 5 times and yesterday I only brushed once. Then on top of that it is not show that I cleaned my tongue, flossed or mouth washed except this morning. I brush my teeth twice a day and do the other three task everyday. I’m not sure how it became 5 on two days and why it’s only 1 instead of two yesterday. I love the idea of this app, it makes brushing entertaining and I definitely spend more time on my teeth. I just hope this things can be fixed for proper tracking. I have a iPhone 8 that I use. Update: now it shows I brushed my teeth 51 times last week. But the calendar says I brushed once and it was on Wednesday only. So confusing, seems like the easiest function of the app would be keeping track. Update after using app over a week. App is pointless. The track for some reason got worse. It can’t ever tell when I’m doing my bottom left and thinks I’m doing another part of my mouth. The only thing I’ve found this app useful for is the time and I have an app for that. Downgraded to a 1 Star. I wish it worked properly.

Overall App is good enough. Brush Tracking is lackluster.. The app is overall good enough. It has all of the features you’d expect. Goal setting, keeps stats, and encourages you toward better oral health by gamifying the brushing of your teeth. This is a common modern tactic toward habit formation. However, the tracking of the brush is lackluster at best. I find it hard to know where to aim the camera and there is no feedback while brushing to let you know if the camera is in place or not. I have to usually brush for extended periods of time to get the score I think I deserved after the standard 2 minutes of brushing. Ironically the directions warn against brushing too long but yet I have to so that the app more accurately reflects my effort. This major feature just isn’t fully there yet. The other features for gamifying are. Definitely need work. At least the toothbrush itself is good and better than a manual. App may be mediocre but at least my teeth are clean and healthy.

App is horrible. Brush is great.. New app is worse than last one. All that is needed is timer. All app does is try to direct you to apps to purchase merchandise from sites that are over priced! This app only works for one family member even though the storage holder holds 4 brushes. At these prices who’s buying 4 different brushes for each family member. The handle lets you pick different color handles for each user only this app will not change color with different user using different iPhone. It puts all users under one account. When I called customer service person was rude and hung up on me. Told me you can use brush without app because timer built it. I have uninstalled app. If I want a timer I use timer in iPhone. Good brush with horrible app. The last app wasn’t perfect but much better than this updated app. It also updated app without my approval. Preferred old brush with timer that sat on counter.

Love/Hate Relationship. I think this app is indispensable to help me brush long enough and in all the right places. But the app is not real clear about setup, so it is easy to set it up incorrectly and not get the full benefit out of it in terms of assessing if you covered all surfaces enough. I can’t tell how many times that I brushed an area way longer than it needed to be because the app didn’t “see” what I was doing, despite holding the phone up at exactly the same place as previously. The help section is not good either. So, it’s a cool app, and when it works correctly (which is a lot of the time) I love it, but I think it still has bugs and fixes needed. There is more frustration than there should be for a simple act of brushing my teeth when I brush correctly, yet the app says I have 60 percent coverage.

Meh. Most of the time the app claims that I brushed twice a day but I always only do it once so I don’t understand why it keeps showing 2. Also, my old toothbrush that just had a timer on the toothbrush was perfect and did the same thing without needing an additional app that doesn’t compute correctly most of the time anyways. Also, I hate that my toothbrush always starts on the Tongue cleaner when I turn it back on instead of starting from the first one the next day. The new charger for the newer models is definitely not as fancy as they used to be. You also cannot revisit past days to see the details of what you did or to take something off if the app computed it wrong. The only thing I would love about the app is if it showed what areas I miss and need to brush more, but it doesn’t do this for the 5000. :(

Perfect purchase - for fools. I cannot believe I was duped into paying nearly $200 for a glorified electric toothbrush with an app that doesn’t even work! I’ve had serious dental issues and, based on the dentist’s recommendation, decided a little extra money up front would save me a world of grief later. The app, however, does not work. While it is supposed to highlight each separate area until you spend enough time before it highlights a different area, this thing gets stuck on one area for over three minutes and won’t move to another area at all - even after indicating that I’ve done enough in the first area! OR It will begin flashing from one area to another and, as soon as I get to the new area, it flashes to another! It’s like playing a game of “Tag” inside my mouth. Another issue is that you have to keep your face positioned in a specific place, but it gives no guidelines to help you find the right place. I called Customer Service and the agent was about as useful as a jar of mayonnaise on a merry-go-round. Save your money. Buy a $35 version at the drugstore and just use common sense when brushing. This thing is for fools - a group that, to my chagrin, includes me.

Getting my teeth cleaner. The io brush senses where it is within your mouth. If you open this app, it immediately asks if you want to start brushing. Click yea, then turn on your brush. The app shows you when you have fully cleaned your teeth. It shows inside, outside, and chewing surfaces gor three sections of your top teeth abs three sections of your bottom teeth (28 sections in total). The first time I used the brush, I avoided looking at the screen until I was gone so I could see what I normally cover. I got an 89%. Now I watch the screen and don’t stop until I’ve covered every section thoroughly, it’s great!

Loss of performance. Earlier versions of this app were quite robust. If you forgot to open the app properly before you brushed you could reach down and start the app and it would catch up with you and finish with you. In this version, if you don’t have it open to exactly the right page before you start brushing, it will never record your brushing properly. If out of a two minute brush, you turn the app on at 35 seconds, it only records you has having brushed 35 seconds. It will not pick up the rest of the time you’re brushing. The graphics are nice but the functionality is quite reduced. Also, the earlier app would pick up a brushing if you did it without the app on at all and would go back in add it. This version does not seem to do that.

Does Not Automatically Track Sessions Reliably. I recently received an Oral B Bluetooth brush to replace a previous Oral B non-Bluetooth power brush - and as a power brush goes it’s another great toothbrush! But this review - as it should be - is for the app and the app has not worked properly after over a week of use. The app claims to connect every time to the brush - but on half of the sessions it never registered the start of the brush cycle and for the other half of the sessions it started ok but for some reason it stopped at exactly 1:20 saying the session was done too early even though the brush was still in use and running! I only got it to start and track a full 2 min session once, so it’s simply not worth the hassle or frustration. Thankfully the brush still works quite well without this app so I can delete it and brush without it. I recommend the brush - but skip the Bluetooth feature and the app.

Had High Hopes for the App. I find myself not even using the app. When I do use the app I am very clearly in different quadrants of my mouth, but it doesn’t recognize that and then it gives me a bad brushing score for “missing spots”. I have over brushed an area when I first got this new toothbrush trying to get it recognize I’m brushing there. It does it in the front areas as well it’s not like it’s just the back teeth it can’t see or sense me brushing. I tried playing with the camera moving into different places, keeping my mouth open wider, getting closer to the camera, further away etc… and have just found it’s not so accurate. The brushing modes and tracking are a pretty cool feature. I also like other parts of the app that are more so informational. I just wished it worked better for me.

Love this app!. This app has taken my brushing game to a whole other level. I got the Oral-B 7500 model, and the app pairs with it seamlessly and lets me change a ton of settings. I also feel the app is very motivating. Silly as it is, I actually want to earn the little badges and score a perfect 100 each time I brush. The app has also helped me remember to floss and rinse with mouthwash every day. My dentist was THRILLED with how clean and healthy my teeth & gums were at my last appt. The only thing about the app that needs improvement is the position detection. I found it to be only about 50% accurate, so I don’t use that feature anymore.

Inconsistent. I love this app in theory! It has really helped me to be consistent, brush for a full two minutes, and actually take the time to floss. However, the timer is really random. I will brush for the full two minutes, following the guide, and then when I’m done, it will give me a sad face and tell me I only brushed for [random time less than two minutes]. It’s frustrating because I’m really enjoying the streaks. That’s really the only thing that bothers me! A recommendation I have is to add the option to be able to customize what you see while you brush. For example, I don’t care much about the news stories, but I would love to be able to link it to my bible app or even just get to choose which news I see or be able to see more positive quotes. Thanks!

Worst toothbrush app ever. I’ve used various different brushing apps and this is by far the worst. First it uses the camera to determine where you are brushing and that’s wrong half the time. I’ll be brushing on my left side but reflect on the right side. My old toothbrush and app didn’t use the camera and just went by position detection in the brush. It was much more accurate than this. Because of that I am having to brush beyond the 2 min timer. If I’m using guided brushing and go beyond the 2 minutes, if I pause to spit it stops the session. Then it tells me “you missed spots” and “try better next time” despite the fact I wasn’t done. I can’t find any way to change that. I changed the timer to 2 1/2 min but that doesn’t work. If you are looking for a toothbrush that has a good functional app, look somewhere else.

Great way to get back on track. If you’ve gotten slack about your dental hygeine, this app is a great way to hold you accountable not only with brushing for the full two minutes twice a day, but also with flossing and rinsing with mouth wash. I’ve only been using it for a few days but I have flossed and rinsed every day since, whereas before I only did sporadically. The bluetooth connection is actually more helpful than I thought it would be, and I like the fact that it tells me when I am brushing too hard (something I am definitely guilty of). The app is also easy and convenient to use. I could definitely see this becoming part of my nightly ritual.

Great with some major failures. I really want to like this app. It’s pretty good, if you turn off the gimmicky “watch me brush” thing and just use it as a timer and tracker. But this has two major failures: 1. 99% of the time, it says I have 1 second of overpressure. I don’t (it shows this almost every time, despite extra care), but it can’t figure that out and it doesn’t say at what point, so as far as I can tell it’s dumb and gives me a frowny-face due to its own bug. 2. It syncs many random “unguided” sessions, one or two minutes after (sometimes before) my real session. I can delete them but they come back next time. It’s apparently impossible to completely get rid of them. If I do actually have an unguided session without the app, that usually also syncs fine, though sometimes it takes a few times of use, but the extra unguided sessions are extremely annoying, throw of stats, and are impossible to permanently get rid of. So, second major bug. I’d report this directly to the company first, but their website makes me go through hoops and if there was an easy email contact in the app, I didn’t spot it easily. So public it is. I still use this. But I don’t trust the stats, and I get annoyed at the incorrect 1 second penalties, for now.
