Sky Live: Heavens Above Viewer App Description & Overview

What is sky live: heavens above viewer app? Sky Live is a great app for planning the star observations and for making gorgeous photos of the starry night sky. Lots of astronomers and night sky photographers worldwide have chosen the app to help them in planning their nights out for watching stars, planets and constellations.

All necessary info is available at once: what planets, bright stars and constellations will be above the horizon at night, what the weather is like, what the visibility score is, and much more. After setting the location you can check the stargazing index for the whole week ahead and learn the best time for the night out.

The unique index for stargazing conditions is calculated hourly and renews each time you start the app. The index depends on the following criteria:

- Weather forecast
- Light Pollution
- Visible objects
- The Moonlight

The Sky Live app works in pair with Star Walk 2 that means you can see the chosen object in the sky and check more info about its’ path through the night sky. Sky Live also has an Apple Watch extension to alert you of upcoming astronomical events and tell you what’s going on in the sky over your location at the moment, e.g. ISS flyby or bright Iridium flare.

"For stargazers, Sky Live is exactly the app we've always needed to find out just how much of the stars we can see at night and when we'll be able to see our favourite constellations and planets." by Nathan Snelgrove, AppStorm.net.

Stunning space photos combined with everything you need to know about stargazing conditions for your location tonight. Stargazer or not - this app will spark your curiosity.

The most accurate hourly conditions for stargazing are estimated on seven criteria and summarized in one Stargazing Index that will give you all the information you need to make your plans. The formula was developed by a mathematician on the Star Walk team and takes into account:

- Is there anything interesting in the sky tonight?
- Can I see Saturn?
- Is it going to be cloudy?
- Is it going to rain?
- Too much light?
- Is the Moon too bright for stargazing?

You will also get detailed reports on position and trajectory of the International Space Station, the Sun, the Moon, Jupiter and other planets. The forecast is available for seven days ahead.

Location search poor. Nice app has features others dont but the location search is limited to places already built into the app. I tried searching by state city and gps coordinates. None would work so therefore the app is useless to me for anning locations. Perhaps I am usimg it wrong but I did spend some time trying.

Love this app - as important to me as the weather app. Hands down the first thing I check before I head out for the evening. If it looks like a good night for viewing I'll generally bring along my camera just in case I find a decent shot. At the very least it's a great way to introduce friends and family to the night sky. The app provides a way to show them a thing or two about the sky above while giving them a resource to help them gauge wether or not stargazing is possible on any given evening. This app and others like it are a powerful educational and inspirational tool that can really open up a whole new world for most people. It certainly did for me.

Can’t Manually Choose Location. Would be 5 stars but you can’t manually choose a specific location...instead they have a 100 different locations all over the world to choose from, which is pointless if you’re trying to plan a stargazing trip to see if the seeing conditions will even be worth the trip; so this app is pretty much useless for me unfortunately:(

Poor visibility after update 10. I bought this program because it seemed better than Star Walk 2.It seem that it was until version 10. The change in the color of the sky versus the stars make this program difficult to use, especially during the day. There don’t seem to be any granular control for this.

Total waste of money. Thought this app would really assist in my stargazing nights.....it is a BUST!!!! EVERYTHING.....I MEAN EVERYTHING this app says it can do can be found in other apps that provide so much more information. Totally disappointed in it and find NO redeeming qualities for use. Don’t bother with this one....there are plenty more that are much better.....all I can think is the high rated reviews are from the developers.

Lucas. Lucas is home with the girls and then I have to get my nails done done and I’ll be back home tomorrow afternoon I’ll call him tomorrow night and I’ll let him know when I will let you know when I’m home I’ll call him tomorrow night and I’ll call him when I’m back in the gym

Please fix Moon Phases. Hello. I am writing this on Dec 31st, 2021, 1:00AM in the US. I'm giving this a two star score (and will update one corrected) because your moons are not correct. The current moon phase is a WANING Crescent moon 🌘 ; which by your app, NASA, and various other moon phase charts indicate the same moon phase. The icon your app shows is a WAXING Crescent moon 🌒, indicating it is facing in the wrong direction. This incorrect icon is shown within the app and in the app widget. New Moon: 🌑 Waxing Crescent: 🌒 First Quarter: 🌓 Waxing Gibbous: 🌔 Full Moon: 🌕 Waning Gibbous: 🌖 Third Quarter: 🌗 Waning Crescent: 🌘 Otherwise it's a pretty decent app.

Could be great. I love this app. I’ve been using it off and on for years. It’s a great way to just learn interesting space events, and to tell what’s going to be visible in your area. Sadly this app hasn’t been updated in a few years, which while understandable (the stars don’t change much after all) it would be neat to see this app with IOS 14 functionality. It would make great widgets.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!!!!!. I like it when I see “Fair” ! I love it when I see “Good” ....I’m ecstatic when I see “Great” ! The downside is I hate it when I see “Poor” especially a string of them, as if the app was somehow responsible....lol But seriously, it provides everything I need to plan my week, before the telescopes come out and does not disappoint! It’s simple and accurate and does not overwhelm the user with information overload! That said , I do use other more technical apps, but this is always the one I check 1st , so It’s a perfect on the go app ! The only thing I would like to see is a few more days tacked on, but I get why you don’t! The Hubble photos each day are also a nice touch ! Highly recommend it!

Awesome, but Multiple Locations Would Be Great. Great app. Very simple, very accurate. Exactly what I needed. The $.99 upgrade is worth it. However, my only request would be that you could put multiple locations in. Like any weather app has. I’d like to switch back-and-forth from my home in Salt Lake City to my cabin up in the mountains, regardless of where I am standing at the moment.

Extremely limited. No indication of what the notifications DO, Just asks you if you want them. Does not display any specifics for seeing and transparency, just a one-word judgement of whether the conditions are good, fair or poor. Confusing interface, no clear way to bookmark multiple locations and no apparent way to choose a location from a map if you need to travel to observe. Just a terrible, mediocre app that hides features behind a paywall that aren't even remotely worth paying for. Download a free clear sky chart app and learn how to read it. It'll be infinitely more useful than this piece of garbage.

Works if you’re local, not accurate for travel. The app works great if you’re physically at your stargazing location. For those that need to travel away from city lights the app is not accurate. With set searchable city locations it isn’t practical for use in planning stargazing trips. If locations could be searched by GPS entry (like the current location) it would easily earn 5 stars.

Does very little to nothing. Mostly useless information. Paid the $0.99 for it, didn’t do anything for that buck that it didn’t already do, nothing. I can swipe a few days ahead to see “weather viewing percent” but the app falls short on everything. Other than the home app page, the only other page was manual that gave some background information on parts of the app that for the most part doesn’t exist. Keep you money and space. Waste of time.

No longer Accurate. Not sure what changed with the latest version of IOS but this app is no longer accurate. When cross-referenced with other similar apps or sites, info is way off. Further, if you uninstall and reinstall this app you’ll get different data for the same day. Prior to iOS 17.1.1 this worked very well.

Needs the ability to choose location. Realized after I paid the $1 for pro that location couldn’t be chosen manually. Have to either be at the location or choose from one of the available locations which is extremely limited. The whole point of the app for me was to see what stargazing conditions are like so I know if I should bother traveling out to darker skies. Seems like such an easy feature to fix that the lack of communication on why this “feature” isn’t available or the plans for the update warrant a 1 star review.

Improvements needed. This is a good app. It could be better if I could bookmark your current location. This Is a bummer because your can’t dial in a specific city or state lit country.

Great One Stop Tool. I have several tools in my arsenal for projecting sky conditions and other related observing information. But, this is the first one I hit, often several times a day. It's got a simple user interface, is accurate and updated frequently and has no quirks. A pleasure to use in all respects.

Great App, But Where's the iPad version?. I have all of Vito's apps and I think that they're great apps. All look great on my iPhone. Where is the iPad version of this app? That would be welcome...

My new Sky App. This is fantastic tool n tho I have others-this is the one most used n fantastic information to know n learn more! 👍

Excellent for predicting good nights. Caveat that all the other features are adding requiring a small purchase. But the interface is great and intuitive. I’ll likely get the add ons

Not Impressed. Found the interface lacking information I wanted. Colander events was extremely difficult to set, never did figure it out. Weather information better in free app. Lunar information better in free app. Basically, you pay a dollar to find you you need to buy another app to get the most out of this one. Interface was awful.

Great!. Great app for planning and forecasting. Very good for pairing with other apps as well. Usually more accurate than the iOS stock weather app also.

CD43. This is an awesome app filled with information and conditions in the sky for night watching the stars and planets. Highly recommend this awesome and beautiful app. A most fo those who love astronomy.

Space. I enjoy seeing all the the wonderful things l have available to view in space.l have a IPad. Pro and it ihhances everything I look at.

Saves time. This is a great tool to use to determine the best time to sky watch. It gives me sky conditions so I know when to haul my telescope outside to begin observations. I highly recommend it!

I Love this App!!!. Just lately it has been crashing & doesn’t allow me to use it. Please help in resolving this issue. Thank You for all the great work you have all ready put into the app.

This Is Amazing. I love this app so far it’s amazing and reminds me of the weather app. I enjoy looking out at the stars (though I can’t when I’m near my home) and this app helps me know when that’s best to participate in. I also am kept up on the nearest full moon for crystal cleansing.

OkBasic information. But if you want the more interesting features you have to pay for them. I’ll see if the free version is worse usage power and resources on my iPhone.

Sky Live. Sky live is a really cool app, and very helpful for determining whether or not the night sky is good for viewing that night. It informs you of the time of sunset and sunrise, any unique events happening in the sky, and any objects visible that night. I would recommend it for anyone interested in stargazing

Indispensable!!!!. I do astrophotography and this app is absolutely indispensable!!! It's accurate, colorful, and informative. It's really helped me determine the best times to image and far quicker and easier to use than pulling up the sky charts online! Thanks Vito Technology!

Do Not Get! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This app seems to be a nice looking, peek into the current conditions at your location, I’ll give it that. The BIGGEST HINDERANCE is that there is such limited searchable locations, it basically cripples the app. If you need to travel to “X” location (possibly hours away), but want to check star gazing, weather, and visibility conditions beforehand? Better make sure you’re only going to a location available on their list. Otherwise, you’ll find you cannot search for common towns, locations, areas, or even GPS coordinates and get their relative info (at least in the US, I have not tried other countries). This has issue has been reported by other users over a year ago and still has not been fixed. This one issue alone makes it NOT WORTH IT to get this app for the .99 cents it costs for the “pro” features, heck it makes it not worth it for the free one either. But I guess, in theory, if you’ve done research on other better apps/services and then, got on-location to view magnificent night skies, this would do a good job to tell you once you got there that you’ve got “great stargazing conditions.”

Great for Astronomy. Love this app. Just a click and I know whether to go to my telescope or not. It’s useful even in daytime hours since I like to test my GoTo scope to see if I’m being blessed with a sky clear enough to spot Mercury, a real test of clear skies.

Great app but was let down from purchase. The is a great app. It is excellent on letting you know stargazing conditions as well as timing for certain sky objects. The issue with this app is if you try the ad supported versions of other Vito tech apps and then upgrade the to full via in app purchase the apps don’t recognize each other as full versions. I contacted support and was told they were aware of the issue and it will be fixed in the next update, it now has been over a month since and no update to resolve the issue

Failure. Doesn’t do anything unless you pay. I don’t mind paying but have no idea what it is supposed to do.

Accuracy is slightly off. Maybe I just need to pay for premium, but it shows "good stargazing conditions" on a night covered in clouds. Good information and nice layout though.

Good, not great. I had high hopes for this app but it didn't quite deliver. The weather feature is nice, but it's just wrong. The forecasts are way off from AccuWeather or NWS. Don't know where they get their data. Also I can't believe they don't show the moonrise/set times which are much more important than sunrise/sunset.

I use it to help students in college. I lead Astronomy and Cosmology study groups as an employee of Oakland Community College and stargaze on my own time as well. I use Sky Live (and Stellarium freeware) in tandem when planning stargazing sessions and when aiding students in learning the night sky. I have used at least 20 different apps over the last 4 years, but Sky Live is the ONLY stargazing app that resides at the ready on my iPhone’s first screen. I recommend buying the full version to know at a glance when the ISS will grace your stargazing sessions with its presence.

Great Star Data App!. I check this app every day to see what's happening in the night sky. Its strength is its focus on real time data for star gazing. Planetary conjunctions, daily rise and set times for the planets and the ISS, and stellar location for each planet - what's not to like!?

Great for friends. Great way for me and my friends to check out what’s going on in the sky. Trying to catch a peak of the iss is our favorite

Simple to use, show multiple days in advance. The score is better than other binary indicators.

Very good. It always gives me the correct viewing conditions and I only w when the best times are. Even when there’s no WiFi it still gives me decent information

5 for local sky, 1 for planning ahead.. Overall, this app is great for using in your current location but is very weak for looking into places you may be traveling to. It can not locate common locations - at least in the US - nor will it allow you to enter in a GPS location. This would be the best “tweak” the developer could make at this time imo.

I Love Nebulas. I absolutely cannot stop loving Nebulas! Can you make a update that makes a button on the top left corner where people can see all discovered Nebulas? Yes/No

Works as intended. I bought the pro version and I've been satisfied with the purchase. Allows me to check what planets are visible and tells me if the night is even good enough for stargazing. A must have app for serious star gazers and for the novices that just want to watch a meteor shower.

Very cool idea, one flaw.. I paid for premium and fully enjoy the app. I’m always looking at the widget and it has a very bland, boring grey background. Since I use the widget more than anything, I’m dropping the stars due to the fact that I’m let down every time I look at this app. Please add some flavor to the widget by adding some stars to the background!

Solid. I check the night sky weather conditions daily with this app and it's incredibly accurate.

They want more money?. So I spent the $3 for the app, but that didn’t even unlock the full version? They want another $1 to unlock full version of some of the features they mention in the description originally. It’s honestly a little upsetting because the app itself is very simple and not much to it.

Awesome astronomy planner. Use the app to plan stargazing up to one week out and it is usually spot on. Not sure on those nights where it rates the conditions high with 100% cloud cover. But if you focus on the projected cloud cover, you should not be surprised.

Looks Good But Inaccurate. I really liked the way the app worked but my recent experience is it’s not very accurate. Maybe it needs some time ranges, instead of one number that covers the entire evening. But tonight, for example, we got clouded out by 8pm after Sky Live said 81% clear tonight. Maybe it will be 81% clear in a few hours, but it certainly isn’t now. There’s potential, but it’s not there yet.

Revirw on Clear Skies App. Even though the app has weather. There is no way to know when they will be clear other than a percentage for the whole day like 7:00pm or 5:00am. The app needs to have a lot of work to even close to the app for androidss

SkyLive. It looks really good, but it doesn't have my country to choose from in the location area option

Crash and BURN. This App will not work. Opens momentarily and then crashes within a second of opening. What a joke! FIX IT or refund?

Great. It's a great idea

Potentially excellent. This will be a very nice app indeed. One bit of feedback - the list of stars and constellations visible is inaccurate - it gives those that are up just before dawn! I think there must be a sign reversed in the algorithm somewhere.

Waste of money. I don't get it. The paid version doesn't do much more than the free version. The stargazing rating is inaccurate. Totally cloudy right now and it says good rating and yes location is correct. Clearoutside is much better. Update July 2019 Ok so I have used this a bit more in the last few months. I increased my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. It does certain things quite well, which is predicting the quality of the conditions for stargazing and give a summary of what can be seen in the night sky (brightest stars, constellations, SSO's, etc). It doesn't do any more than this. Descriptions can be very misleading and are easy to word carefully so as to sell a product whilst not blatantly lying. I don't care about pretty pictures I want tools that help me at the eyepiece or planning my time at the eyepiece. This app does not help me plan my observations - it helps me decide whether I'm going observe or not. It does not make gorgeous photos of the night sky - nothing of the sort. Use in conjunction with others apps and programs.

Description is misleading. This app does not show you the sky by the hour only for an entire night which quite frankly is useless. It may we’ll be clear at 11pm and cloudy less than an hour later. The description of the app suggests otherwise but on questioning the developer they say that they might update the data if the forecast changes. Pretty dumb and pretty useless. Don’t waste your money if you need a proper breakdown of the night sky forecast.

Good app to have at home!. It could be improved by being able to search up locations, also for people complaining about that you can always look at the light pollution and how cloudy it is with other applications.

Starbucks. App looked ok but the minute you have to start paying for this that and the other that’s when you lose me. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying for an app but what I don’t like is having to keep paying for the app so you lost me.

App crashes on 7.0.2. App is currently crashing on 7.0.2. The app opens and then closes! Please fix as this is a nice app.

Cloudy but 60%?. Night sky is covered in clouds, can't see a thing, but the app says 60%...

Great app but can be better. I think I'm having much the same problems as some of the other users the app starts up for about a second but crashes soon after before I have even done anything. Some improvements I think can be made to the app is to add a full tour of the bright objects I could probably see the through my telescope (besides planets). Adding an option to type in your telescopes aperture and focal length which will then find good objects that you can see through the telescope that night would also be a great improvement.

Not bad but buggy. Quite nice interface, great idea, but lots of crashes. Notifications / widget hit and miss. Event notifications don't appear in app itself, so no way to get any more information about the event.

Almost there.... I really like the app. Great presentation of quite a lot of information. Very handy. However, a few of the planetary sign placements are a while sign off. I would like to assume all the other info is legit, but I'm probably not going to. I'll wait to see if it's corrected I guess.

Nice !. Very nice app ! But you have to pay $0,99 for full access. It's bad !

Love It. Awesome app, beautiful UI, like how it takes into account light pollution and what you can see for the index. Only problem (I may be wrong) I've found is the moon phases, at least in my location, are in reverse. For example it says waxing gibbous, then first quarter, waxing crescent and so on.

Keeps Crashing. This app will not open, keeps crashing when I open the app.

No good unless you buy full version. The free version is totally useless. Gives you sunrise and sunset times, and a % rating for how good the night will be for observing. However, unless you buy the full version, that is all it tells you - which you can get from pretty much any weather app anyway.

AMAZING. It’s a really good app.

iPad optimisation. While this app is very good on the iPhone, it needs to be optimised for the iPads larger screen to get a five star rating.

Great reference app. Couldn't be easier for the novice nor more informative for the more advanced astronomer or stargazer:)

Unreliable. App is slow to update. Could show day name along side date.

CRASH. Twice…

Star sign. I love star signs

Great app. As stated it is great and a good companion

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t work. Is always updating/ searching. Can’t believe I sent money on it.

Farn adz. Farn adz kill it unlezu bi it

Please update to iOS 13 dark mode. Please update to ios13 dark mode I love Star Walk and Sky Live but without the support of iOS 13 dark mode it looks ugly. :(

Very good. 非常好用

Quick guide to conditions. I find this app quite handy as quick guide to the viewing conditions as I'm travelling around. Knowing what planets are up helps to navigate unfamiliar places when cloud is scattered.

Sky view. Awesome app

A very useful app!. This app could be improved by adding the ability to search up individual suburbs rather than just using “current location”.

Pretty but still early days. Very polished look and a brilliant idea and tool, but a few teething problems. The app frequently freezes upon opening. While there is a link to a guide on how to use the app, it doesn't really give full explanations. Eg. What does the percentage actually mean? Do I want it to be lower or higher? Does a brighter cloud icon mean more or less cloud? What do all of the icons even mean? As a bonus it would also be nice if the app showed where in the sky the stars and constellations are at the time. Keep working on this please! It's a lovely idea.

Great app!. It's a very cool app. I do recommend!

Respect. Love this app

Useful when planning astronomy with friends. As far as I know this is a bit of a unique app, I have not seen anything near it. Plus, the graphics are a masterly touch for stargazers, and it impresses most people without a great interest in astronomy. Sheer beauty! Really useful weather forecasting, but not always does the weather follow the BOM. My Thanks to the programmers - really love it.

Need star walk 2.... Annoyed that this app requires star walk 2 to be fully functional. I have Star Walk 1 and cannot comprehend why I need to upgrade to 2 for very little benefits.

Don't buy. After buying the app, you then have to pay for the full version. Total scam...

Not Really That Great. Says supports family sharing but doesn’t. Family members can only get free version not full. Is this how it is supposed to be. I have asked this question before but can’t get an answer. As far as I’m concerned if it supports family sharing it should work...

Very handy app. Great info and very handy

Useless. The only thing you see is their picture with temperature, sunrise etc. No stars, nothing Do not take space on your device for this useless app.

Horrible. It’s a wasted three dollars, do not buy this app, because it doesn’t work unless you buy the full version and it’s junk

Yup. Ticks all the boxes. Nothing else to add. Does exactly what you want it to do. A great toolbox for the amateur astronomer. Use it every time I go stargazing.

Don't do it!. I downloaded this on the strength of the great "Skywalk". Big mistake. It crashes on startup. Haven't seen it yet. FIX IT !!!!

Useless for astrophotographers. This app is basically useless for astrophotography and stargazers as well. It can only show you the sky quality for your current location, which is a bit ridiculous because I don’t think anyone would like to do stargazing at home, we all plan to go somewhere else, away from light pollution. This app is stupid, I can’t believe I paid for it. I want a refund, lol.

Sky Live. A good visual app showing at a glance the "seeing" conditions and position of planets on a easy graph style. Really good. Murray

Rubbish. Keeps asking for more and more more net to actually get to use the night sky app.

Crash. It crashes when I try to access the full functions and crashes on start up. Great app in theory but only if you could get it to work!

Waste of time.... It said I had 70% @2pm on a overcast rainy day...standing outside at 1030pm same night...it's clear as a bell and it's said only a 40%...

Use it all the time. Very good use it all the time

Accuracy. Pretty accurate actually.

Informative. Much thanks for updating to IOS 11 & IPhone 8 standards! Although your widget is very nice, it is still not refreshing at the same speed as when we launch to the app page. Widget is still stuck on an old number/percentage, when the app has already refreshed itself to a new number... Please fix this in the widget as I rely on it being updated!

Beautiful and handy. Really awesome app and super easy to use. It's very smooth and looks awesome.

Awesome. Great app

Great app.. Love this app

Could one day be my favourite app.. I would love, love, LOVE this app if it had some references of what to look for in the sky, i.e.: constellation diagrams, planetary features, direction to look, etc... I own the other star gazing app from these guys but - like all akin programs - the interface is a bit clunky and it's hard to really find anything. This app with the aforementioned features would be the perfect outdoor companion and would actually involve star gazing as opposed to looking at the sky through your iPhone.

Terrible. Complete crap! Tells me 39%, poor visibility, completely clear skies, not a loud in sight. Couple of nights ago it said 75%, good visibility, completely cloudy, couldn’t see a single star. It’s as if it’s days behind or location is completely wrong. Garbage. These must be the same people that predict the weather.

Great. All stuff your looking for is in this app!

Limited locations. Great app, but the locations are limited and there is no way to manually enter latitude and longitude. So if you don’t live in a huge city, good luck finding that location.

Terrible app!. This app has the worst reliability rate. It says visibility is good when it’s clearly overcast and daytime! What’s worse, tonight it’s going to get even cloudier! Then there’s the WatchOS widget. It doesn’t even display the same information as the application does! The app right now says 64% and good. The watch widget says 14% and poor. Wth guys?

Great tool. This is a great app for getting an idea for viewing conditions and what's overhead. I would like to see the whole list of planets in the objects list. Only bright planets are listed.

Good. Like the notification widget!. For weather, i would prefer seeing and transparency instead of visibility, which always says 16.1 :-s

Great app for stargazing. Good app, but the constant add ons you need to pay for is frustrating.

Very nice. Love the interface. Combination of beautiful and useable!

Great!. It's beautiful and well laid out. I only wish that it did not use sidereal positions of planets. Maybe a toggle that would allow one to switch between sidereal and non sidereal.

It seems decent, but.... The app crashes on me after a minute or two at the most. I hope the bug is fixed soon!

Logiciel Prodigieux.

Great app but serious limitations. I love the accuracy of this app in terms of its prediction but locations are seriously limited. I go to dark sky preserves that I cannot find in the app and that fact alone renders the app useless for me. However, when I am at the location, the app shows the correct location and accurate forecast. Such a great app! Wish this issue with limited locations is resolved in the future.

Works. Good app

Love this app. Love this app. Thank you!

Very limited locations in Canada. Would love to purchase the paid version if more locations in Canada are added to the list

Used to like it. At first it worked just fine on my iPhone X But now in keeps crashing at least twice before it even opens and I don’t know why.

Love it. it's really helpfull specially for astrology:) Thank U for the app, )

Great. App

Amazing. This app is an amazing summary of the night sky in your area. Great for amateur enthusiasts like myself, who are too busy to otherwise go outside and see what can be seen!

Beautiful app. It's so beautiful. Please make a Celcius selection for the weather. Thanks!

Very misleading In-App purchases. The app is generally good, however, if you want to see the position of the ISS(International Space Station) it directs you to purchase Star Walk 2. I did that, but to get the info on the ISS, you are then directed to another In-App purchase for the add-on to see the ISS. Very misleading.

Demo version does not have sky viewing features. The title pretty much sums it up. I’d love to review how well it tracks the satellites and displays stars/planets on the sky, but it seems I need the full (paid) version.

Really good. I bought this to help with my astrophotography and I don’t regret it. It has REALLY good detection on light pollution and is really accurate

Best App for Checking Astronomy Conditions!. I always check this app before heading outside. It has a beautiful interface to boot!

Nice try. At first I thought this app would work great but there’s to many inaccuracies like giving viewing details of the ISS during daylight hours! ( oops) also it doesn’t update! says star viewing is at 80% clear when it’s total cloud cover! Enough said ! I deleted it!

Nice quick reference. This app gives a nice clean and quick summary of what natural objects you can expect to see in the night sky.

Fun tool. Fun Little tool to see what the night sky is going to show off, at a glance. I use it in conjunction with Star Walk 2 to plan my evening.

Great app. Very useful, just bought a telescope not too long ago I found this VERY useful

Great's app. very useful when u want to go to see the ✨

Great app. I really enjoy using this app. As a casual astronomer I can just take a quick look at this wonderful app to see what's up....

Best Star-Gazing app. Everything you need for deciding whether or not to go out for a night with your telescope!!

Hi. You can’t look where ever just at the few photos it has

Does what it should!. Love this app. Highly recommended and for stargazers, this is a headache free addition to your app inventory.

Features locked by in-app purchases. Most of the advertised features can only be accessed after paying an additional fee.

I don’t understand it.. I’m looking for an app that can tell me how to find things and what they are in the night sky, and I guess this isn’t it, or I just really don’t understand how to use it. I did pay, not even using the free version.

Great app. Helps a lot to quickly identify stars and planets .

Sky live. Love this apps I like taking pictures of the sky and just generally looking at the stars.

First source I check before heading out.. Love the Apple Watch integration. I can check the night's observability from my wrist. The planet rise and set info is also handy for planetary viewing.

Apple Watch App Doesn't Work. Since the last update, the Apple Watch App crashes on launch. Once this is fixed I will give the App 5 stars. It's an awesome app overall.

Meh ,,,,,. I can’t see anything or even get the universe to Move, although I have got premium version, not what I expected, to say the least.

Love it. Great way to plan your observations for the week.

Great App. It’s a great app and I’d recommend it to anyone, I mean it even shows where the ISS is in the sky and who is on it. Is that not amazing?

Good idea. I like the idea, and it is presented well, but I wish it had an explanation of what the percentage meant on the front page. Is it just a reflection of weather? Does it take into account light pollution or atmospheric disturbances?

Not working. App worked until I pay 0.99$ for the full version and it stopped working (not even opening the app) as soon as I paid the amount!

An experience of a lifetime. This is an experience of a lifetime the lord’s my shepherd guide and friend

Love it!. It helps me track both near & far space objects! Thanks for feeding my addiction! 😜 (Iridium Flares)

App review. I love the local, and accurate, Observing conditions The app shows for my town. JimPhelps

Stole my options. I had this app for years to view the night sky from any location to find planets and stars. On vacation today and find out they now want me to pay for features I already had before. GOOOODBYE!

It is good but missing something. I would add a zoom in and camera 📷 option so you could actually see space🌌🌠🌃

Very Helpful for Beginning Astronomers!. This app has been so helpful for a beginning astronomer/stargazer like me! I'd recommend it for anyone who has a telescope!

AMAZING. I love this app! I check it almost everyday to see if it will be good to stargaze!

Love it. Love the widget and the fact it opens to star walk 2 through the "in the sky" feature!

Poor position location. So far I’m only able to get reports on current locations or major cities. I’m not able to find any of the small town cities that have the dark skies!

Ruined our night.. I relied on this app to travel 2 hours to north New Hampshire on a night it listed 85% "Great" for star gazing. I kept wondering why there were tons of large clouds in the way up. Sure enough, the clouds darkened the sky and it poured for the entire time the Milky Way was highest in the sky. Absolutely the complete opposite of reality.

Perfect for astrophotography. Accurate and full of good information for planning your night photography sessions.

Great app. We use the app to help with our photography as well as general celestial enjoyment.

If you want to connect with the Heavenly. If you are into the planets and want a astronomical telescope, I recommend this app.

Everything Costs Money. Every useful feature costs additional money.

The best App ever. It is so fun and cool and great for me and maybe you you should definitely download this app

Only excellent. Kinda of accurate don’t count on it unless it’s excellent outside

Beautiful. Thank you a lot help me out to take pics!

Fails to download data frequently. It’s OK, but no better than that. Seems to frequently fail to download data, despite being in a 100MB/sec broadband WiFi. Often disagrees with my other four weather aps.

Great. It’s just great, if you like stargazing then get the app!

Essential tool. At the ready always.. Love this tool. As I travel the data is right on.,,

Cannot use app without location services turned on. Useless. I am interested in locations that are not where I am. Let us CHOOSE a location of interest.

Widgets. Love this app! Would love to see widgets added to it

Sky live. It tells you what to see in the sky

Good app for quick info for astronomers!. Has good properties and really like that the app can be added to you top-down display.

Stargazing Guide. Helps give you an idea if that evening will be good for stargazing. Good at what its meant for.

Limited Info but Crash Often. It shows limited info about viewing conditions but it crashes frequently for it does. Looks pretty but it is like an app created on the fly.

Buy twice!. So I bought the astronomer pro bundle, which includes this app, only to find you STILL have to pay for this app! Lame! What happens if I unlock the version within the version? Will I have a third layer to pay for?!

Rating is for Sky Live. Used frequently to get seeing conditions, and at a glance, what's the rise and set times for sun, moon and planets. Also for ISS, above horizon times.
