Plain & Simplicam. Without repeating other reviews, there has never been in my opinion greater integration of software and hardware. The ease of use, the ability to quickly access real time and recorded images, and the intuitive interface make this probably the greatest and most useful third-party device associated with my Apple products. I bought two cameras and may get more. Five stars? A no brainer.

Downhill. We first purchased our camera about three years ago. It worked great and we loved the option for one month only recording plans. (We used our camera when we were out of town). Then last summer I ended up paying $15 for one month of recording because the app didn't recognize my purchases and I wasn't seeing recordings while we were on a trip. I submitted a help ticket, but I might as well have submitted it to my three year old. The response was about as coherent with no real resolution. Now, I have been trying for two days and can't get any available plans to load on the app or the website. Guess we will be moving on to another camera soon.

Decent but needs work. UPDATE Camera now goes offline regularly and won't work until it is rebooted. This is an almost daily problem now and renders it useless. The app takes a while to get used to. The interface is decent but not overly intuitive. The method of jogging around your captured footage from their server is a bit lackluster and the speed in which it fetches your video recordings from their server needs to be faster. Some days are slower than others. Why can't I forward to the next alert with a single button instead of always having to drag to the next instance? Detection sensitivity could use some refinement. So many false alerts. Camera that points outdoors is always notifying me off grass and leaves moving as well as clouds changing light around the cameras view.

DO NOT BUY. Would like to give it no stars but you have to place one. Tech support is horrible. Cameras disconnect repeatedly. I thought it was the WiFi from cox but after repeated test and nothing else having a problem in the house it was as the cameras. Now in the last two weeks they are not renewing the subscriptions so most likely they are going out of business. I wished I had never purchased these things. Going with nest now!!

Disconnects from WiFi. Says it is connected to the WiFi, but no picture available.

A Joke. I hesitated to call someone’s work a Jim, but this app is. Unreliable, veeery slow, laggy. When I get a notification, click to go see what’s going on, it takes a long time to show the live stream, sometime it doesn’t, just a spinning wheel.

Lag time for live feed. App loads but camera takes a long time to load live feed. This is a problem that just started recently but it's really irritating. Hope they fix this quickly!

Difficult to add cameras. I have tried all my 2.4Ghz networks and it just keeps saying WiFi Connection failed while WiFi is up and all other cameras on different apps are working off the same WiFi network.

My Doggy Cam. Love it. I use it to monitor my dogs when I am not home. When I travel I can check in and see if they are being walked, have food and water.

Best Camera...Ever (Best Customer Service, too!). I bought a camera for our house to monitor the kids. At first I did not purchase the recording plan, but after seeing the quality, I wanted to be able to go back and view past events. We are able to talk to the kids through the camera, which is a great feature since we do not have a landline phone. I bought a second camera with a monitoring plan and keep that one at our second home to monitor the house. The camera has alerted us several times when storms knock the power or internet out at that location since it sends a notification when the camera is disconnected or goes offline. I emailed Simplicam's Customer Service department to ask about a feature and they responded within the hour. Not only that, the representative followed up with me a couple times afterward to ensure I had everything I needed. He was incredibly helpful and very attentive. I highly recommend this product due to the high video quality, useful features, and awesome customer service!

Great Cloud Camera. I've had my simplicams for about a year. Not had too many issues. They have been very stable and really like the ability to replay recordings with simplicity. There a few things I would like to see. A plan that would cover 5 cameras. I shouldn't have to manage recording plans per camera. Also would like to see an outdoor weatherproof option or an enclosure. Keep up the good work!

Security for home. Had this system for over a year and I love it! Reliable and affordable. Alerts work great when out of the home and the system is easy to use from the app.

Don’t buy. Recording service no longer offered. Real time video only.

Awful service. I have paid for the monthly recording plan but it has been disconnected for months. I have emailed them and they never responded.

Poor apps. i am trying to connect the ip camera but this is not working at all. Dont download this one. Its a waste of time.

Better than a baby monitor!. Couldn't find a baby monitor to quicken the heart of my technologically advanced love. Cue Closeli. A little difficult to navigate for grandma/grandpa, but this app offers all features and a few more. Now I can stalk my little one from an hour away. Better than a nanny cam! Bonus feature: when he baby is crying and Daddy is still sleeping-you can talk to them to calm them down. Daddy loves you because he gets extra sleep! Love the motion/sound profile so I can view baby's sleep patterns to predict when it's time to wake up,

Shame on Apple!. This company has obviously gone bankrupt. They cannot be reached; there is no longer any recording service and their camera no longer connects to wifi or displays any images. Apple should have removed this from the App Store months ago. To leave it there is simply false advertising. Way beneath Apple’s ordinarily high standards!! Shame, shame...

Great App. Overall very easy to use, no issues.

Cancelled Cloud Services. They have the nerve to sell a product with Cloud Services and the cancel it. So now the camera is only good for real time. I want my money back. This company has balls

GREAT customer service!. The cameras work well and function as they are supposed to. Additionally, their customer service team is amazing! I do I have one major complaint. When setting up a recording schedule you are only given the option to tell the camera when you want it "off" rather than "on". This may not seem like a big deal except that if you use it while at work (for a nanny cam) you have to remember to turn it on every Monday morning and off every Saturday morning. For example, you cannot set it to turn on every Mon-Fri from 7am-6pm. You have to set it to turn off every Mon-Fri between the hours of 6pm-7am. This means it won't automatically come on Monday morn. and it will automatically come on Saturday morn. Pretty inconvenient that they dictate what your scheduling options are when you are paying for the service and when that means if you inadvertently forget to turn it on Monday morn. and you come home to find out your kid took a tumble, you wouldn't be able to look back to see how it happened; conversely if you forget that it came on Saturday (when you don't need it) morning and you walk around the house half dressed that is being recorded.

Peace of mind. Stable app I use frequently, especially when I travel. Good kids monitor as well. Highly recommended! Update: as of June 2017, just got a third camera. Excellent customer service. Best bargain for cloud storage subscription with discounts on multiple cameras.

Best cameras on the market. I have tried many security cameras and after purchasing just one simplicam I stopped looking,hands down the most user friendly, so easy to connect and hassle free. Don't bother wasting your money on expensive security alarms. I now have six simplicams monitoring my home and work and it gives you peace of mind.

Great product and fabulous customer service. The camera is a fabulous product with a great performance / price point and no 'Google' behind the company. However no matter how good a product is, having quality customer service is a necessity. I made my initial purchase as soon as the camera became available. Setup was as easy as it gets and the camera worked..for a week, at which point it refused to connect to the network and could not be reset. Customer service was excellent. The team tried to troubleshoot and then realizing it was a hardware issue had me return the camera for a replacement. Since then, all has been great....but the customer service experience is what makes it all worthwhile and why I will purchase a second camera from them ( they even gave me free recording capabilities because of my troubles which was beyond what they needed to do). Try the camera and the great company behind it. I am sure you will be delighted with your decision.

Good System. I replaced an eight year old Panasonic system that still worked and had free monitoring service via website and my own computer. Problem was it was so difficult to set up (and I know what I'm doing) I couldn't stand the idea of taking a day to reset those cameras to my new router. Enter Simplicam. Easy set up and super slick app. It was hard for me to drop the dime for recording service but it's worth it. Pros: Great quality camera. Two way mic is cool. Recording service playback is intuitive. It has a great app. Cons: Would love to have a pan feature on the camera. Set up was easy compared to the Panasonic but still wasn't perfect. Wifi didn't set up on the first try, certain steps were never acknowledged and the camera just started working....after a few attempts. I had to turn off notifications because they were all too sensitive for my situation. This probably won't be the case for you though. I know I listed more cons than pros but that's just because I have a forum. Overall this is a great system that I highly recommend. I will buy more cameras for sure.

The best video cam on the market. Over the past few years I've owned nine videocams and this is by far the best Quality and easiest to set up. This cam does two way communication, great night vision, good B&W & color, and you can record and save your videos. The set up takes less than five minutes and they make it so simple to do. I'm running three cams to keep watch on my two mischievous doxies pups. When I catch them doing something bad I just push a button and scold them with the two way com. They must think God is talking to them. Now the best part - when you're away from home the cam will detect any motion or sound and send you an email video or a phone call describing the intrusion. Lastly, the cam has a beta version of facial recognition. We were having problems with critters dumping our garbage and thanks for our cam we caught the culprit, a very large brown bear.

Now useless. When I first purchased this camera, I would have given it five stars. I loved that I could purchase a monthly plan when needed because I was mainly using it to monitor my home when I was out of town. However, the company is now defunct and the only thing I can see is live feed.

No more recording with no notification. We have two cameras that had recording services until it was disconnected with no notice. Then an email came out to tell us that they were no longer offering recording. We ended up having to pay hundreds of dollars AGAIN to replace cameras with a different system after having done the same with these. Frustrating.

The product is totally unreliable - UPDATED. Lowering my rating to 1 star from 2 stars. We took 2 week long trips this summer and the camera disconnected from wifi by day 2 or 3 on both. I did not get a notification in either case but even if I had there is nothing I could have done remotely to address. I will not be renewing the subscription. When it is connected the camera is fine, but it cuts out too much to bother. Below is my original review: It loses the wi-fi connection multiple times per day. You cannot fix it remotely. Thus, you cannot count on it for any type of monitoring when you're not around. I wasn't sure I wanted to pay for video recording so I let it lapse. I decided to give it one more try just this past week and I already regret it. I won't buy another one and will move on to a different vendor in the future.

Works Enough. Giving it a 3-Star seeing that it works just fine although it could use improvements. Haven’t felt the need to replace it and still satisfied. Pros: We use it as a baby monitor and it work heat for that when we want to check it. Sound and all. Also works perfectly at night in greyscale while being easy in the eyes. Appreciate the screenshot button built it to along with being able to speak to our baby. Improvements: Update for the masters platforms to be supported (iPhone X for example) and really wished this worked from the phone with a cellular connection. What’s up with that?!

Great feature set and highly polished!. Fantastic video monitor software; works perfectly with the camera system! I think the motion sensitivity is a little too sensitive (even with the range settings) and it triggers an event when a car's headlights drive by one of our front of house windows at night (so Closeli should adjust for that) but otherwise it's great. And we signed up for the $4.99/mo 24 hour cloud video save feature. It works great!

Great solution for our house. I use it to keep an eye on the kids while I'm out or just the security of knowing my house is safe! No issues and great service

Best cam solution. I use this to monitor my elderly grandmother, the 4/5 stars is because 1) the first camera died at almost the 1 year mark BUT simplicam/Closeli replaced it super quick, hassle free. 2) the camera goes off line intermittently, everyday to almost every other day But the Pros outweigh the cons, the ease of access, the video/audio accessibility, the quality of the camera is WAY worth the price and the subscription. I would def buy another, which I will be soon.

Good service but need outdoor camera badly. I really like the video monitoring product, but am very disappointed that Closeli has not brought on an outdoor camera to their product line, like Nest just did. I had someone break the car windows at night and could not capture it because the camera are inside facing out and can not use the night vision due to glare from the ultraviolet lights. So I could not capture viable video of the perpetrators. I think I have to switch to Nest to get that feature.

Good and Bad. I love the camera quality but have tried I think about 30 times to find a way to reach a person. I want to renew my recording plan and It seems like they are out of business. The customer service isn’t very good obviously.

Great way to keep track of activity at my cabin. Works like a champ. Power cycles all the time and it comes back online every time. Easy installation. Highly recommend it!

Terrific System. Finally a system that's both easy to use and set up. Previously I had purchased another system which was impossible to set up, and failed after two months. It is gathering dust in my garage. Can't recommend this system enough. Love the two way audio and it is simple to turn on and off from my phone. I have three cameras and am thinking about purchasing an additional one.

Finally a Capable Alternative to Dropcam. So far Simplicam is a very good alternative to Dropcam with a more affordable cloud services plan, not to mention the killer Face Recognition feature. The mobile is overall very intuitive and easy to use. It, however, needs to be updated to leverage higher-resolution screens of iPhone 6 and 6+. It has been almost a year since iPhone 6 was announced and ArcSoft has not gotten around to update for new devices, which is somewhat concerning to me. In this day and age, software is equally (or more) important as the hardware. My point is you need to innovating through software and user experience and I can guarantee you this produce/service will do great.

Terrible. We just got a notice that they are no longer recording video. Well that is what we bought this for and we paid a lot for the cameras. We got an incoherent email about this, that sounds like it comes from a third world country. I believe, from what I can decipher, that they are going out of business.

Bad no video and feed. The last review of this product was last year and seems no one is buying this product since last year because no recent review. I bought this I think 5 years ago and last year was disconnected because I was painting my house then now I reconnect this, everything is connecting but no video it keep buffering the spinning circle line keep spinning and when I read previous review it seems no support for this product. I really like this product cause I can talk to my kids great view and clear but now it’s not working and I don’t want to recommend this to any customers. Stay away!

Can’t setup app. Very poor as could never get past setup Would not allow input password I put in 12 characters Upper and lower case Numbers And other character many times

Keeps Disconnecting. Works fine when it is connected. My camera is installed in my vacation home 1100 miles away. My router and my camera are on separate UPS systems and the camera randomly disconnects. My Honeywell thermostats that are not on a UPS stay connected and if there is a power failure they automatically reconnect. The camera will not reliably reconnect with the router and requires me to be in front of the camera to reconnect. Repeated requests to fix this problem have gone unanswered.

Do not buy this. This is no good if you buy this your just wasting your money

5 stars to 1. The product was good for 1 year however it gets disconnect every now and then. It a total loss of money. I cant believe they no longer support cloud storaging. This product only useful as a regular monitor.

No support for the app. I have been trying to resolve multiple issues for weeks and I am getting no response to any of their support emails.

Great app. Great app and it has not even crashed once yet and that is impressive and very user friendly. What I suggest is that you add an button the app to turn on and off notifications easily without going in setting. Like make a button for when your in home when you go out you just click away. And it would be great if you upgraded the screen resolution to iPhone 6 plus. Thank you! Highly recommend.

Better than the other guys in a few key ways. When it comes down to it there are two choices in this space and I have no issue with Google. For me it is about the features and Simplicam and the Closeli app simply work better for me. I travel a ton and am using this both for home security and as a baby monitor for my twins... So the alert notifications and the detail at which I can set them individually is key! I agree with some other feature requests below, but they are just that.. Feature requests (not negative star worthy). Especially since their customer service has been top notch and they are responding to those feature requests faster than the "other guys". Ok, now for my feature request... Let me use some other old outdoor IP cameras with Closeli or make one I can easily setup outside!

Stay away from this product. Work well for a while, however recently it’s a disaster with no technical support whatsoever.

Connect to wifi. Couldn't connect to wifi after 20 times. It's connected with Guudgo fine.

Overall great. Easy and headache free camera and recording service. Yes, disconnects rarely and for short periods of time, which usually has to do with the reliability of the wi-fi service and not the camera. Thumbs up.

Excellent app and cameras. We purchased 2 simplicams. One for home surveillance and the other as a baby monitor. Very easy to setup and the camera build and picture quality is fantastic. Especially in night mode. The closeli app is filled with features and the subscription is a lot cheaper than others such as dropcam. Highly recommended!

Simplicam. I'm a fan of the simplicam. The two way audio is clear and video clarity is great. I also like the option to opt-out of the monthly subscription for video storage.

Terrible connection. App is awesome when it works, however the app constantly disconnects from the Internet and needs to be re programmed. Not easy when the camera is in your 5 month olds room.

Works as advertised and better!. My friends use DropCam. I did my research on all of these types of cameras in the market and liked the features this has. This is as good as DropCam if not better. The quality and functionality is really good. I have two of these in my house with a 1 day plan. Would highly recommend.

Cams.. Great service, Great cameras and Easy to install with incredible resolution on my phone. I travel and it is essential for me to be able to check in now and then. The system is the best by far. I like messing with the UPS guy when he comes to my house using the microphone when I'm literally a thousand miles away. Great product ~ I recommend it all the time to my clients.

Excellent except for time/date. The product is excellent and easy to set up and operate. I would like to see a time/date stamp on the screenshots as well as the clips. I would also change the color of the metal to all black and the usb and plug to black also, or at least offer the option. I purchased 5 of them though and they work great.

Never Expected To Like A Security Camera. Comcast Xfinity kept offering me their Security Package for a billion dollars, but I like my Alarm Company. A camera though just seemed like a good idea so I went with Closeli because they were smaller than their competition & had great features. A year later a bought a second camera from them. Makes life a bit easier.

A decent image, if it works. We tried to employ a Simplicam as our baby monitor camera. Connected to a strong Wi-Fi network the camera constantly lapses into "Uh-oh! Your camera is disconnected" mode. It cycles on and off a dozen times per evening. Completely unacceptable. We've re-attached the camera to the network and hoped for a firmware update to make this camera useable. So far, nothing. I think it's time for a Dropcam....

Very easy to use!. Set up was very easy! I've been using for about a week and don't have any complaints. I had a question about the detection zones so I contacted them and they responded/made sure I had that feature.

I wish it worked.... I have two cameras only one year old and one of the two always goes offline after a week. They do not connect back to the network unless I power them off. Very frustrating edit idly when I am on vacation. Poor network connectivity.

Good, but why can't I hear the sound?. I have to have my headset in to hear the live steaming sound. Otherwise, I like the app and think it is very solid.

Great Camera. I got this camera for Christmas 2014. I love how simple it is. I have racoons that steal my cats food, so I can watch their antics in Night Vision. I have always had good results if I have ever contacted support.

Live feed no longer works on LTE. App has always worked perfectly, however I can no longer view cameras live on mobile data, despite having full service LTE. All data toggles are in the "on" position in the settings, and the live camera feed continues to work well, as it always has, on Wifi. I have reinstalled the app several times, and my wife's app (same phone and cellular service provider) works perfectly to view live footage, whether on wifi or LTE.

Amazing!. Was a little skeptical at 1st about how easy it would be to setup. All I can say is, get one!! Was super easy to setup and was up and running via wifi and wireless away from home. Picture quality is great, night feature is extremely clear. Very happy with my purchase and now have the peace of mind when away from home. Thank you Simplicam!

Perfect for my purpose. I have had two cameras for over a year. They stay connected. When we had a power outage they automatically reconnected. Because of their small footprints, they were easier to conceal. The software is feature rich and easy to use. I like the 24hr plan. It provides me the history I need while lowering my monthly cost.

Solid piece of software. I work in software development so I know a good piece of kit when I see it. The software is easy to use and works great! My only minor complaint is that automated payments are handled via iTunes and not the app itself (I think it's a policy of Apple?) so you'll need to go outside the app if you ever want to change your payment plan.

Excellent camera and service. I've been using this for six months and it's everything I need. The camera has great colors in the day and adequate night vision. The service is very reasonable. The camera is simple to set up and add frequent faces so you don't get an alert everytime someone in the family walks through the room. You won't be disappointed!

Easy to use, cheaper entry cost and monthly subscription than competitors.. The options are great. You will find all options you can think of except auto turn on/off based on whether you're home or not. It has alternate features that compensate for that. Perhaps they are better (turn off when it detects your face).

Excellent application, at tracking security of home. Been using 3 cameras and saving a lot of money over ADT! Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the app gives alerts based on movement, sound, etc. And changes in light can be interpreted as movement, thus some false readings. Just bought my fourth camera

Satisfied Simplicam User. I love this camera! It was simple to set up. The app makes it very easy to access the cameras to check on my pets and home while I'm away. I wish there was a way to install one of the cameras outside so I can use the night vision feature.

No troubleshooting options. Setup was straightforward, but failed saying my wifi password was incorrect. Tried several times and then realized that camera was already on in app. Then tried to correct time zone, and noticed all camera options grayed out, but no explanation of why. In addition, microphone on camera doesn't seem to work. No options to fix or diagnose. When the happy path doesn't work, there is no explanation of what might be wrong or options to fix. App should be more resilient to issues and provide options to diagnose problems.

Gg. Its overall experience is very smooth and intuitive. Very easy to setup. Good software. Especially like the features such as notification summary. Video quality is also very good. Will order another camera for using in my mom's house.

When the advertised features are available.... When the Face recognition is available on iOS I'll update my review. But as a paid customer - I'm frustrated that the advertised feature are not available yet.

Easy to setup, with very good video. I have 3 cameras in two houses, all on the same account. My wife and I monitor the 3 cameras using our iPhones. I would recommend this system to anyone.

Perfect DIY for anybody!. Great easy to setup camera for anyone! App has a very fluid ui and is easy to pick right up and use. Buy a couple! If you buy one you'll wish you had another!

Good, but needs georeferencing. Good app, but this could use some georeferencing and Homekit support. It's really cumbersome to turn the camera on/off as I leave/enter my home. I would like it to do this automatically and/or through Siri. I like how the app organizes events.

Great Product. I bought 2. Stupid simple to set up and is great quality all around. The app and the interface are straight to the point and easy to use. Highly recommend if you are looking for a "do it yourself" home surveillance system. Night vision loses visibility and casts reflections on the image, but mine are setup in well lit areas. Highly recommend for the price and quality.

Really easy setup and great quality. I had been doing a lot of research into cameras. After closeli had a sale I pulled the trigger. I was extremely surprised at the ease of set up and the image quality. The face recognition is also pretty cool and the 2 way audio works well. I would definitely recommend these cameras.

Drop your dropcam. And pick up a simplicam great customer service and great camera. Love it, you will want to buy more than just one.

Good Camera. Reliable, good camera that has been working nonstop for 2 months. Video quality is good and setup was easy.

Very easy to set up. Until now, it has been the easiest camera to set up. Five minutes out of the box, I was watching the scene on my iPhone! Face detection is not ready for prime time, but in my case, was not important. Nice pictures.

No issues. It takes a little bit of navigation to learn the app but once I learned it, totally easy. My biggest praise is how easy it was to set up. Went very smooth. I recommend the simplicam and the app to anybody that wants a less expensive option to wifi camera surveillance. No tears, no frustration with this. Finally something that does what it says it's going to do.

Great technology. We use the cameras in the main rooms of my mother-in-law's house to check on her and make sure she's safe. There are never glitches. We highly recommend this product.

Perfect. Great app, great camera, great support. You won't find a better camera & app for the price. I would suggest this for anyone looking for a camera & app for anything from keeping an eye on your family, pet watching, to security.

Camera won't load. I usually have no problems with the camera loading to turn on but today it will not load. I kept my app on for 10 straight minutes and it refused to load the picture on our baby monitor. I also tried unplugging the camera and plugging back in and that usually works but today it didn't.
