JOYSTIQ - "Spices up your step-tracking with some danger and intrigue.”
BBC NEWS - “Encourages users to walk 10,000 steps-a-day to help improve their health”
LIFEHACKER - “You're motivated to actually get up and move around so you can progress further into the story, and it works really well.”

AWESOME ACTIVITY TRACKER
Just put your phone in your pocket or purse and we’ll track every walk and run you take — and map it, too!

CAPTIVATING STORY
You’ll walk the length of the UK while evading capture by the police and enemy agents. Can you work out who set off that bomb in the first place and what their plan is? Get ready for an epic adventure across 65 episodes, 800 minutes of audio, and hundreds of miles.

MOTIVATING GAMEPLAY
Get rewarded for walking more by collecting clues, scanning for information, and unlocking achievements.

ADAPTIVE

Comes with the first five episodes and challenges for free, with the remaining 60 unlockable by subscribing to the Abel Runner's Club.

Subscriptions are $5.99 USD/month or $34.99 USD/year. Subscriptions will be charged to your iTunes account after your confirmation of purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can go to your iTunes Account Settings to manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew. Cancellation of the current active subscription period is not allowed.

- Requires iOS 10.3
- This app integrates with the Health app via Healthkit to read and track your steps and movement data to register your progress in the game
- Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. The Walk uses your phone’s accelerometer to measure your movement, and primarily uses wifi and cell towers to track location. The Walk is designed to use GPS sparingly and should have little to no impact on your battery.

Good story even with glitches. The trick to keeping the app from resetting your episodes is tapping on the amount walked in the upper left before anything else whenever you open the app. That allows the app to suddenly remember where you are. The app still crashes periodically if multiple apps are open in the background. Still the story is good enough that I keep playing despite the problems with the app. I enjoy it. It gets me moving.

Love to love this but I can’t!. Downloaded this because although I love Zombie Run, I don’t want to have to bust out running thru the hallways at work during my lunch hour. I’ve found it’s just too buggy! Some of the time, when I do get to listen to the story progress, it glitches and I get five seconds of story, then i get silence for five seconds and the story skips…..so I miss half of what they’re saying. I would GLADLY pay for an app like this….but not when there’s so much that needs. It’d be nice too if it just auto played when you finally hit a checkpoint.

So fun!. I really enjoy the -- maybe it's my fantasy of being a secret agent that's makes this so appealing. It totally motivates me to get moving AND I love being focused on progressing through a story versus trying to get out there and focus on time or miles -- a welcome respite! I'm on episode 29 and have had no issues so I'm thinking the bugs mentioned by earlier reviewers have been addressed.

Haven't had any problems. I have an iPhone 5s, so maybe that effects my experience here, but I've had zero problems with this app. No glitches or overheating my phone or anything. Also, I *like* looking at the phone to scan the landscapes and deciding when I want to hear the parts of the story I've unlocked, both things others have complained about. I think these features allow you to engage in the game, and to use the app any time you're walking and only hear the story when it's convenient for you. The game is easy and it's encouraging and I like it. 😏 I just wish they'd release more stories for walking. I would be perfectly happy to buy them.

Please make more walking apps!. I loved loved loved this app. It really inspired me to walk. The voice acting and story line were superb. Please make more walking apps with this same setup. I clocked a ton steps using it. I prefer walking at my own pace/time when my job permits. So this app type is perfect for a busy office worker that has to squeeze in workouts in snippets. Thank you!

Objectively makes your walks worse. It’s a pity. The story seems fun and the production value seems top notch on that, but this app objectively makes your walk worse because of the silly UX. Notifications simply do not work, at all. And it doesn’t pause whatever you where listening to previously, so you are forced to continually check the app to check you progress, then play the story clip manually, then manually return to whatever you were listening to and all that fiddling around just slows you down and is a distraction from what should have been a fun story walk. I don’t understand why the app wants full always on tracking if it’s not going to pay attention and just play the clips. Make no sense. Same company makes Zombies, Run and they manage to fix that just fine but not this? Silly.

Warning : you must pay $5 to finish the rest. I really enjoy this app. I haven't found it to be buggy at all (with one exception that I'll mention later). The voice acting is really impressive and the story is very well done. I love how immersive it is - you really feel like you're in the story if you have headphones in due to the attention to detail (footsteps fading away, someone's voice getting faint as they walk away, background conversation). I do want to warn you that after you've played a few episodes (3 or 4) you must pay $5 to continue. I find this frustrating as there was no indication that the app wasn't free before that, however I think that for the amount of work they must have put into it the money was well worth it. I am annoyed that the "please pay" prompt prevented me from listening to the final sound clips of the previous episode, so I'm missing some important details and I can't go back. Overall, a very good app and I've already recommended it to a few people.

Still needs a lot of work. I really wanted to love this app. As a fan of other six to start apps I assumed it would be good. However, this is easily the most buggy/laggy app I have ever used on an apple device. If I check another app and come back, it often loses my progress and takes me back to the start screen. The story line is the only thing this app has right at the moment. There needs to be A LOT more development for this to be a reliable and enjoyable user experience.

This is not fun. At all.. I expected this to be something I would launch at the start of my walk and the narrations would play in real time and items would be automatically picked up. Instead, I have to constantly fiddle with my phone during my exercise, OR sit around for 15 minutes afterwards listening to little story clips and clicking useless white boxes. The special routes give you "collectibles" that aren't useful, funny, relevant, or interesting. I'm deleting it for now. I may download again later if they update this and make it useful and fun.

Not worth it. I walked an hour and a half and still didn't make it through the first episode. It was only supposed to take 33 minutes. I don't know if the app couldn't tell if I was walking or if it was the GPS. On top of that, the app crashed to where I couldn't even use my phone. I was really hoping this was going to be like Zombie Run where it played audio automatically as you ran. I was not a fan of constantly clicking on the map to hear audio. I just wanted to walk. Not stare at my phone the whole time.

Doesn't Track. The app doesn't track anything when my phone is locked. I keenly want to do the story and all, but if it doesn't count my walking while my phone is locked and therefore can't unlock the story modules, it's just not working for me. I would also like to see an auto-play feature so you don't have to attend your phone every 5-10 minutes for each new audio module. I don't want to have to constantly be holding and interacting with my phone while I walk. ☹️

Mehhh. I am a huge Zombies, Run! and Superhero fan and was excited to try this game but I was disappointed. The story is great and very entertaining but everything else is sucky. The app itself is difficult to learn to use (no tutorial) and actually listening to the story is not easy. You also have to choose the option to keep your GPS on all the time even when not using the app and that uses my precious data. It would be great if there was a step counter but alas... The app also has a ton of glitches and runs super slow if it doesn't just turn itself off mid-mission. If you are on the fence to get The Walk, I'd choose no

Current version too buggy. I'm enjoying the story, and wanting to find out the next part does encourage me to walk a little more (for example if I see I'm only 5 minutes away from the next story segment, I will get up and walk around the house until I get it) than I would have ordinarily. But the app is pretty buggy (I'm using iPhone 6S, iOS 9.3.2 currently but it has been this way for the last few iterations of iOS 9). My main issue is, that after opening the app about 3 times, on the 3rd try, the animations slow down drastically and are choppy, and the app is very slow to respond to touch screen input. Killing the app and restarting it does take care of it, but it gets annoying pretty fast. Also, restarting the app remembers my current place in the map but it resets the arrow/path chooser so several times I accidentally ended up on the shorter path and missed out on the collectible. Overall I enjoy this app, but wish it would be updated to fix the lagging issue.

Loved but can’t download ep 31. I got through first 30 episodes and now I am getting an error that I can’t download ep 31 either because my phone is full or due to a network issue but I have checked both those things and neither is true. I haz a sad. Update: After a few days, it let me download the episode but the app asked if I liked it right as I was having more download issues so am disappointed still

Not a sensible choice for city sidewalks. Great concept, engaging story, well produced. However I walk on city sidewalks, not a treadmill. The app does not have an audio or haptic alert for story goals. I used the app once and it’s too distracting to keep looking down at my phone. Also not terribly safe. Stopping every few minutes to check the screen is also not awesome. Glad I didn’t pay for the subscription.

Glad the app now loads in iOS 9. However, the performance is really spotty. Since I know you update things very infrequently, I suspect I’ll have to live with this. The app freezes and then unfreezes. It doesn’t recognize minutes walked and then it does. It says you’ve got 23 hours left for a challenge and then the next minute it says the walk is done. Frustrating but usable and the story continues so I’ll consider these all just challenges set up by the Burn.

Current version too buggy. I played through The Walk once before about 2 years ago, and I would have easily given it 5 stars then. I had no problems with it aside from wishing that it would somehow be integrated with zombieslink or something online. But now, it is consistently refusing to track my minutes, even if I make sure it is at the forefront of my apps when I start walking. Some days it does fine. But too many days, like today, I'll go for a 30 minute walk and it doesn't count a single minute of it, but it pulls my steps from my pedometer. So now t is telling me that I walked over 3700 steps in 3 minutes. PLEASE fix this! I'm trying to convince some work friends to get this and do it with me, but I don't want to advocate for a broken app!!

A suggestion for the next update. I completed a 2.20 hr walk and I was a bit annoyed that using this app it didn't have an option for a self playing feature for the audio when you unlock them. Could you also implement a distance walked in feet/miles/time/km. I enjoyed the story so far; I completed the first two on my trip. Intense, and in depth.

I am saving the world!. I am obsessed with this app! As a lover of all things Scotland, I found this lovely little thing right after a trip to the UK and just as I retired as a school administrator. I now have the time to walk, and this app makes me go the extra mile just to hear the next sound bite. Yes, it can be glitchy, and twice I've had to repeat an episode in order to move on, but who cares? I'm walking my *****ss off, and I'm already worried about what I'll do when it's over!

Needs Easy Improvement. I am a big fan of Zombies, Run, which lets you set a playlist and the audio narration will intervene, and afterward your music resumes. I can’t afford to have my nose in my phone while I’m walking because I am paying attention to my surroundings. It seems like this would be an easy fix, since this is the set-up for Zombies, Run. Unfortunately I won’t continue with this app unless it has the same set-up, but I will continue using Zombies, Run, which is much easier to use. I hope they fix this, because this seems like a very fun story!

Fun motivation to walk with only minor flaws.. Having come to this app from the developer's "Zombies, Run!" I knew what to expect: an engaging storyline, good voice acting, and motivation to keep on the move so I could continue to hear more. Only real issue is that after it has been running for a while, the app starts to slow down - but a kill and restart has always fixed that with no problems. And in some of the levels, particularly the ones with snow, some of the collectibles you have the click on can be pretty tough to find. But overall a nice app for walkers.

Great Idea with fatal flaws. First off I love the idea and the story is fun and interesting. It keeps me motivated to go out on a walk so I can continue the story. However, it has a few fatal flaws. First, you have to stare at your phone while you are out walking. Don’t make me do that! Let me enjoy my walk and be aware of my surroundings. It needs to auto play the story clips or at least ping me that there is audio to play. Second, it is a horrible battery killer. I can barely make it through a 30-45 minute walk with the app running. Yesterday I had 97% battery when I started 35 minutes later I finished with 1% to spare. Last, after the third episode it requires a monthly subscription. Apparently it used to be a one-time charge of $5 but now it’s $5.99 a month. No thanks, I don’t want another leech sucking on me. Conclusion, I really like the idea but the execution is poor. So instead I found the adapted story as a podcast of the same name and I’m just playing an episode of that when I go out for a walk.

Apple Watch steps don’t count?. I really like the idea and implementation of it. While I don’t see it as a stand alone app to use when I walk say 3 miles, I do see it more to encourage me to get my steps in for the day. Here is where it fails. In this day and age of trackers, especially the Apple Watch, to force me to pop my phone on walks or in my pocket to capture steps in my office environment is ridiculous. Why can’t this health app, like everyone else I have take my steps from the watch and apply it towards my goal or “walk” in this case. Please fix this so I don’t have to carry my phone in my pocket in the office, on a treadmill or frankly even outdoors.

It’s ok, but needs work to be great.. Downloaded yesterday, but I won’t be keeping it on my phone. The voice acting is great, and overall story seems good however I don’t want to fiddle with this when I am out taking my kids for a walk. I want to be able to just put in one headphone and have it play automatically. There is also no way (that I have found) to pause it in between actual walks. It just constantly updates. I don’t want to tracking my “walks” just in the house cleaning and such.

It could be fixed so easily. It would take a half of day of programming to make this app an enjoyable experience but sadly it’s just teadious. For something that’s meant to be less hands on than zombies run and more of a step counter they missed the mark with how they operate collectibles and achievements. Also I have a problem with the side missions. I draw a path and make an effort to be more active for 24 hours only to have the program reset and not track any of my progress. Zombies Run works great but it’s a subscription service with free bits. This that I paid for hasn’t served me well in the five years I’ve been using it. I just wish I could use this purchase as a legacy app for the zombies run subscription. Guess I’ll just keep slogging away at the free missions there and redownload another step counter from a certain game company with little alien seeds.

Loved it, wish there were more!. This is a set-it-and-leave-it sort of game, which I personally enjoyed. I liked being able to rack up progress and enjoy the story/bonus pieces at my own leisure. Engaging story! Yes, some bits were frustrating: eg the interspersed design your path chapters, and that the random items along the path didn't do anything (as little hints it was a little too subtle). Otherwise, a fun time and really wish they'd do another!

Like it but UI is garbage. I liked the story and acting so i paid for it and don’t regret. However, the UI is pretty inconvenient. You can’t save in progress manually (but it would stay in the middle without it), the episode goes back to the episode 1 when you finishes playing a episode so you should go swipe further manually to start next episode, and the biggest issue is the challenges would be reset if you use other apps like music or phone call while you doing the challenges which take up to 90 mins. I’ve sent an email about this issue because I can’t literally play, but no reply.

Buy zombie run or zombie 5k it's much better. I agree with the other reviewer who said this a waste of money. You are not able to play your playlist while using this app. You have to play the story line whereas zombie run, even zombie run 5k it's plays automatically. I guess I just could not resist giving six to start more money. Anyway if your not willing to pay the $7.99 a month for zombie run. I recommend buying zombie 5k instead. Don't be intimidated, you will walk/jog 3x a wk only and by the end you will run 5k. Since I finished 5k, I wanted to try their other app. Really this app still needs work. I guess their main focus is zombie run, since it makes more money (subscription). Hopefully this review helps you out. Wish I can get my $2.99 back :(

Love the story! App can be a little buggy.. This app was a great motivator, I bow to the creative genius of Naomi Alderman and Six to Start! There are things I wish were different (automatically playing the audio, not having to be looking at and tapping on my device to find the landscape features so as to be able to keep walking). But the story and concept are amazing and I'm proud to have completed the mission! Highly recommend to folks who need a little extra incentive to get that constitutional walk in.

Awful customer supprt for buggy app. Like others, I am having issues with this game involving activity tracking. Sometimes it works OK and other times it will hardly track at all. I have had this game for some time but haven't used it in about a year so I remember it working much better in the past. I contacted Customer No-Service and gave them many details, even the fact that it doesn't even track equally on 2 different devices. As well as not getting notifications from the app as I should. After several e-mails with as many details I could come up with to help them track the bugs, they finally replied with "So you're aware, The Walk has been specifically designed to be a pedometer, not an activity tracker. Because of this it will only detect walking movement, not any more general movement you do during the day." And a very long list of how I had to be doing it all wrong and how I didn't understand how a pedometer/iphone accelerometer worked so I wasn't using the app correctly. I sent them back an email addressing every one of their points on Saturday and today added a note that they should read the reviews on iTunes. I can't believe every one of us is so stupid we can't figure it out. If they get back to me with a better thought out response, even a "wow, we didn't know it was this bad" then I will give this app another star. If they get it fixed and I get an apology from them, then it will get more.

Not for me. I us d this app for the first time today. I didn’t experience any bugs and the voice acting and story in the first episode were good, but there were a couple things that I think will keep me from using it again. It was surprisingly difficult to figure out how to start the episode in the first place. But maybe that’s just me. My biggest problem is that I reeeeally wish the clips would play automatically as you walk. I really don’t like having my phone in my hand or looking at it while I walk, so I don’t think this will work for me. I want to like it, but it just doesn’t suit my purposes.

Great Concept, but…. I love the concept. I’ve been using Zombies Run for running and thought this would be fun to listen to while walking the dog. However, as one other reviewer mentioned, the clips do not play automatically and you can’t sync your music into the story as you can with the running apps. Makes me less likely to continue using it as I am not staring at my phone while out walking the dog.

This is one of my favorite apps. This app got me to park farther away in the parking lot, always take the stairs, and generally do whatever I could to walk a bit farther in my normal habits. The app isn’t perfect but the story is so great I can’t rate it anything less than 5 stars. I just wish there was another season!

Buggy. As others have said, it's buggy. I still enjoy the story, but sometimes it basically resets itself. Thankfully, it doesn't lose all data, so it works if you check your phone often enough, then restart the mission as needed. The story itself is fun and engaging. You find notes and such in each chapter, some which provide clues about the story.

It’s kind of a hassle. I wanted an app that would gamify my waking regime and get me moving. This seemed like the thing, but it has too many problems. It doesn’t auto play when you reach goal - I constantly have to take out my phone and look to see if I’ve passed a goal, or gotten close to it. There’s nothing playing in between goals - Some signal that kept me aware of the passing distance, or some theme music, or something. I would rather just put on a podcast, but I don’t want to get out of the game. The biggest problem is that I can’t put my phone away, I have to be looking at it at all times to see if I’m close to a goal, or I have to play one when I reach it.

Great story, flawed game.. If you enjoy audio storytelling, like radio dramas, do not miss this. As a game, it's flawed mechanically and has some annoying but minor bugs. The challenge episodes are particularly egregious. However, the story and how it is delivered elevates all of it to at least 4 stars. I hope Six to Start can take this format and improve upon it in the future.

Great story but frustrating to navigate the app. No matter which episode I’m on, when I open the app, it opens to episode 1. That means I have to swipe a lot to get to my current episode. Also, the episodes have longer, optional paths. I always pick them because I enjoy the extra bits and they’re not that difficult to complete. However, a few times I’ll open the app to check my progress and I’ll see that it switched back to the shorter path. I’ve walked past the fork so I can’t change it. The only way to complete it is to do the episode over and then I still run the risk of having it swap back on me.

Zero support, doesn’t work with Apple Watch. Before you pay for this app, just be warned that support will not respond if you have issues. And there are issues. For all the permissions you have to give this app, you’d think it would be able to track your steps, but it’s count is consistently less than any other app counts. Also, if you’re not walking with the phone, it counts nothing. Even when you’re walking with a watch recording a workout. If you still want to get it, you probably don’t need a full year subscription to finish it. There’s not any updates or seasons like with zombies run.

Great story, could be more user friendly. Love the story, also love my Zombies apps. What's annoying about this one is have to stop and fiddle with my phone every so often to manually play the audio clips. It would be great if they played automatically at certain points like they do in Zombies. Also, the dead quiet between clips with no sync to my playlist has become an annoyance, as after every clip I have to flip between apps to play music. I was surprised and sad that the other apps by this company have this feature but this one doesn't.

Fantastic. This is a great way to entertain and motivate yourself into being active. I've played the first 8 missions and the only glitch I've found is that it lags if I keep it open in the background for several hours. However, closing and restarting it brings it right back with no loss of my activity.

Disappointed. I am recovering a foot injury and can only walk, I decided to try The Walk. As an Abel Runner’s Club member, I absolutely love Zombies Run! First, the stories do not automatically start when goal is reached. Second, the first challenge did not guide me to the sentries (map is extremely difficult to follow). Meaning I would leave the main path and towards the sentry or the item for pick up and my marker would not deter from the path. Third, I am always having to look at my phone, unlike ZR, it doesn't just start and go. Although, I am walking and not running I do not want to have to constantly look at my phone for cues or to start the next story. Am I doing something wrong????? I have gone back to ZR to and unfortunately, that sadly reminds me that I cant run☹️ UPDATE: I have been using this app continuously since June. I see where Six to Start has bundled all their apps into an annual subscription. This app needs a minor improvement before I would commit to a bundled sub. The biggest annoyances are as follows: 1. I have to continuously look at my phone 2. The story does not automatically start when I reach the milestone. 3. The time duration cannot be tailored for the walker’s availability.

Great idea but missing key features. Someone else wrote essentially the same review but I’d like to uplift it: this is a great idea and I love the Zombies, Run (ZR) app but there are some key differences between these two apps that make this one more difficult to use. (1) instead of automatically playing the story clip when you’ve gone the requisite amount of steps, which happens in ZR, you have to actually click on the speaker icon. This means that I have to be on my phone every couple of minutes, and for the bonus features you have to be on your phone even more. I’m usually walking my dog or just trying to take in the scenery so this makes me less able to use the app. Even if this were an option you could turn on in settings (to automatically play the clips), that would be great. (2) in ZR, you can connect your audio so that it plays in the background and is dimmed when the story line goes, and then comes back on automatically when the story clips are over. In this app, there are several minutes of silence and I usually listen to podcasts or music while I’m walking so the silence is kind of boring. If the story clips played continuously, that would be great but then it’s essentially just a podcast. Just having the option to hook up my music to the app so i can listen to both would be wonderful. This is already how ZR works so I’m not sure why it’s not included here. Otherwise, great story and the quality of the audio clips is amazing. Thanks!

Saved my life. This was the app several years ago that started it all for me, motivated me to start walking after I got a prediabetes diagnosis. I’d never been able to stick with a walking plan for any length of time until The Walk. The story line was intriguing and the voice actors did an excellent job to move the story along. Great and unexpected ending, too. I was totally surprised. I wish this app company or another would come up with another story. I bought Zombies Run but it wasn’t as interesting for me.

Waste of money for me. I was looking for an app that tells the story while walking without me having to mess with my phone the whole time touching to listen to sound bytes and to "pick up" stuff. I wish it was more like the zombie apps from the same group. Also I had to delete the app because I couldn't make it stop running in the background despite changing settings. It was overheating my phone and draining the battery within a couple hours. Wish I could get my money back. Worthless!

Get this app if you are considering it. I’m obsessed!! It has a few issues with syncing perfectly to the amount of time I actually spent walking (especially on a treadmill!!) if it could link with Apple health I would be sooo happy. Like if you could choose if you want it to be counted by minutes or miles (that way you can finish an episode faster if you walk faster). But the concept is incredible. Story is great. Just wish there were more sound bites sometimes! More often.

Harder to use than it should be. The voice acting is top notch, as you would expect if you’ve played Zombies, Run! Some of the voice actors are also the same. However, the interface is not always intuitive. If you care about collecting the badges, you need to monitor the app and tap on hard-to-see landscape features (i.e., tiny, off-white squares that might not be easy to spot on lighter backgrounds). I’d rather focus on walking and not on my screen. Additionally, I’ve run into issues with the app not recognizing that I’m a subscribing member twice now, which locks me out of all missions beyond the first five. It really shouldn’t be this hard to use the app. Please address these issues!

Disappointing. Probably should have read the reviews first. The story seems interesting, but the gameplay is terrible. I expected it to be like Zombies, Run! but it's not. There's no integrated music player and you have to tap the story parts when you get to them. This also pauses any music you might be playing outside the app and doesn't automatically start playing it again afterwards. Also there seems to be a notification system built in that doesn't work. You have to keep track of how long you have until the next segment is available. This would be a much better game if it worked like ZR5K and played the story when you get to it automatically. I don't want to think about time or stare at my phone while exercising. Kind of disappointed I bought it. Hopefully the rest of the bundle is better.

Loving the story so far :). I'm on episode 6, and so far I'd say it's A pretty good app, time and distance tracker is accurate and the app itself isn't the battery burner I thought it'd be. One con was that the bonus round wasn't as easy to use as the rest of the episodes, I drew the map and walked drew the map and walked, and somehow failed to engage each time. Also going back to get missed items on alternate routes by walking isn't as smooth and easy, it's feels like you have to convince it to do the episode again. But all in all I'm loving it and my dog loves the long walks ever since we upped the length setting for episodes.

More please. Please give us a sequel or something! I miss this app! I played this when it first came out and now, years later, I still have fond memories of it and even have a quote saved that I find so incredibly inspirational that I have shared the quote with friends and even patients. “'The sea is like life.' That's what my dad used to say. Sea doesn't care about you. Doesn't know about you. It's gonna try and break you. Not because it hates you... But just because... That's what it is and that's what it does. And you've got to find a boat or learn to swim. And when the big wave come you've got to ride them or you'll drown. That's what happened to you: big wave came, you rode it, didn't drown, might have done, but didn't. . . You were brave and you were strong and you won. Here you are.”

Motivating, but too much down time in the story. This ap is a great motivator to walk because the story is engaging. I wish the story were more continuous during the walk. It takes too long to get the next segment, even if I replay old segments in the interim even if I change the settings to make the walk “shorter.” I realize it’s not a book on tape, but an 8 minute walk between new audio segments when each segment is only a few minutes long is too much of a break and interrupts the flow of the story. The ap is pretty old, so I imagine they won’t fix this. It also likely isn’t a problem for people who leave the ap on the background all day and listen to the story later, not during a walk.

Amazing for incentive. This app really helps if you don't always have the willpower to keep going - storyline is great too!! One of my fave fitness apps now

Great concept but.... The audio and design of The Walk is fantastic, however the actual pedometer feature alongside that of the GPS is highly inaccurate. After completing an hour long walk it had only recorded 11min of actual walking. Clearly there is some issues with the pedometer and GPS which if fixed would mean this is a 5-star review, until then however, the most I could give is only 3-stars.

Has the potential to be amazing, but just too many bugs!. I really wanted to love this app. I have Run, Zombies, Run! And it changed my life. The Walk could be amazing, but just has a few things I personally would prefer changed! I get that it's meant to be interactive, but I find it cumbersome to constantly be looking at the screen and tapping things when I'm meant to be walking. I wish there were a mode where audio played automatically when you hit checkpoints. I also wish it worked with your music, in the same was RZR does. I ended up giving up as it was just too hard to try and look at the screen and tap while hiking (and not fall over something), but I guess it would work if you were just on an even-ground gentle walk.

Great app!. This app is great! it motivates me to go on longer walks just to finish missions. My only complaints are that to listen to a new audio clip, you need to log onto your iphone and tap the audio button to listen to it, and unlike Zombies, Run!, the app doesn't play your music playlists for you. Other than that, this app is fantastic! keep up the good work Six To Start!

Brilliant start, but room for improvement. I love this app, it's so engaging and immersive, such a cool concept! I did find that going for a solid walk it was annoying having to change between my music and the app though-- an inbuilt player like for zombies run would be good. Also, online integration with calorie counting etc. would be awesome. Otherwise fantastic though!

Neat app!. Though the interface is a little clunky this is a really enjoyable game that encourages activity and doesn't burn through your battery. HA! Burn.

Flawed.... A good idea ruined by poor implementation. It is so frustrating to spend 40 minutes walking and then realize that this app has only logged less than half of it. This has repeatedly soured my enjoyment of the challenge to the point where I am ready to give up using it. And, yes, I have wifi/location /etc turned on.

Fantastic. Well designed, good story, fantastic concept

Awesome. 14k first walk. Addictive game and dialogue. I'm hoping that it will somehow tie in with Zombies, Run...

Makes exercise fun.. This is a very motivating app. I'm going on longer walks and more frequently. The story is engaging and I enjoy the extra rewards for making the paths longer. Best if all is that the story will last as long as it takes to form a habit, very effective. Some things that need further attention: * the ap eats my iPhone 4 battery power even with tracking and location accuracy turned off * there are no rewards for including all birds etc in the path on 24hr challenges. In this ap a reward should be further information about the story. These days are more boring as I get nothing for a good 80 mins of walking. * it's tricky navigating to the screen that tells me whether I've found all the little tidbits in that day's walk. It's easier to find overall but I'm not interested so much in that. I want to be able to touch one icon from that day's screen and see that day's progress immediately. I seem to have to look around for it and find it hard to remember how to navigate to it But overall, a fantastic ap and well worth the spend

Fantastic!. Loving the walk and cannot wait for the next installment. Well written and great idea. Found it doesn't really measure accurately on iphone. 5 but that's not the point. Oh got me out there walking ! .... And checking in constantly !!!

Really enjoyed.. Excellent app, and would highly recommend it to anyone out there looking to buy it, it's worth the money. Best thing I've bought in a long, long time.

Love it. Such a good idea!

Definitely not for running. I suppose that should be obvious with a name like "the walk", but it's impossible to have the phone in your pocket or on your arm while playing because you'll miss things on the map. Also, the accents sound fake and are super annoying. To the point where I stopped playing after the second or third "chapter". Would be good if you get bored walking to work or school and don't like listening to music.

Hopefully updates will fix this app. I love the premise of this game but sadly it didn't hold up. I walk a lot but this app only tracked about 50% of it (compared to my Fitbit) and burned through the battery in the process. The story is fantastic but I had to constantly check my phone to see if I had reached a new story point, which was tedious. A vibrate notification at the very least would be better. I've uninstalled to preserve my battery but will look again when updates happen.

Ummm. I like the concept of this game and the story. But it takes a very, very long time to complete an episode - so far, I’ve had to walk so many days (72+ hours), before one episode would complete. If it says 17 minutes, it actually means 17 hours or longer - time under 6 minutes, works but anything longer is in hours. Even walking so many kilometres, does hardly anything - adds/removes about 2 to 4 minutes from the map. For the tracking to not work properly, it seems that the app doesn’t actually recognise steps or distances - even though the steps are close to what’s been tracked on my pedometer, this app requires some other type of movement to make it move on the map. This is annoyingly frustrating and quite boring when I’m waiting so many days and have walked for so many hours, to hear one audio recording/story. If the game’s story was more like Zombies, Run! and had the same options ( such as distance/GPS, pace etc), I’d be hearing the story more often, instead of waiting quite a few days to pass beforehand - the distance between each story is quite a large gap, it also seems like it’s missing parts of the story... unless it’s suppose to cut off and leave us wondering and confused. The blizzard story was quite bad - even though I played the audio each time it became available, it sounded like I just appeared in that location (from out of nowhere) and couldn’t even tell what was going on at the time. An explanation of how, what, when, where and/or why, goes a long way. How it is now, it sounds like a conversation that started half way. EG. “Then when he was finished, he went home”. It didn’t explain who he was, where he was, where he was going, where he was suppose to be, if he was with friends, why he was there, what he was doing or anything else - it’s like there’s no point, purpose, reason &/or understanding of what exactly is suppose to be happening. All I know with this game is: A few of us were given a device that needs to be taken from Inverness to Geneva, while others want it and are hunting us. And Charlie is guiding us to the location. It would actually be good if we got more for our money, such as: 1) items that can be seen in a database, instead of being words on a map. 2) Add more to the story or more audio to current episodes, so we don’t have to wait so many days to hear each of them. 3) The items that can be collected (documents, files, photos etc), should mean something or be a part of what’s occurring - it just looks like random rubbish that has no purpose, like the collectables on the map. 4) The challenges and episodes should be in real-time and shouldn’t take so many days to complete. If it says 72 minutes, it shouldn’t take 72 to 720 hours - if there’s 10 items to collect/spot, then actually make it move to those spots when we’re walking. Just making the pointer (player) move with the recommended amount of time, would help and would make actual sense.

Makes walking fun. Fun app makes walking more entertaining!

Great game. It has a fantastic plot and wonderful characters, and is a brilliant way to keep yourself distracted while having a long walk. Would be good if there was a continuation to this story, or even a prequel.

Potential plus. I am a huge zombies run fan and got this app without question. Not quite up to Zombies standard but I still enjoy it.

Amazing Game. This game is awesome! The audio is very well done and the ability for the app to record when and where you move functions really accurately. A must have for all exercisers and fans of Zombies, Run! also

Great app for mystery lovers. This is a great app. Really gets me out if the house to walk so I can hear the next instalments. Keeps me walking longer so I can unlock more audio clips. Just what I needed.

So much fun!. Really plugs into your imagination. The audio is incredible, storyline is addictive and it's all so easy.

Music in app. Great idea but such a shame it does not work like the Zombie run which is part of the package I purchased. I have to stop and look at the screen to listen to the commentary. Where as the Zombie run automatically plays as you go along. This is a great motivational app to keep going to see what happens next in the story. Wondering if when you do upgrades you could code it like Zombie Run with the automatic commentary overriding my music?

With some updates this will rock. At this point I'm deleting this app. It's just not functional or fun. It is only picking up about 1/10th of my walks and the interface isn't great. The company that made it IS an awesome company... Check out their ZombieRun2 for evidence of that.

Very buggy. Very buggy. Would not recommend this app till it gets an update.

Loving every minute. This app has got me moving and I love it. The story is beautifully crafted and the voice actors are pretty darn great. I will be buying any follow ups without a second thought.

Love it!. I'm really getting caught up in the story and it actually makes me walk more!

Support is second to none. I confess I haven’t actually tried any missions yet. I had some issues getting it going due to the permissions required. I’m giving this 5 stars because even if the missions end up being just a brick wall for me to stare at, the email support is utterly superb. Real person (or really damn good Turing Test-blitzing AI), great response time (I assume they’re in a different time zone to me), troubleshooting, requesting screenshots of the problems and working through it step by step, rounding out with a pledge to feed back to the developers to note for future releases. They clearly care about the quality of the app.

Disappointing. As a fan of Zombies, Run! I was enthusiastic to try this new app from the same creator but I was most disappointed with it. You can't just put it in your pocket and listen - you have to constantly watch and tap the app. How can you walk properly while doing that? I also miss the music between the storyline that you get in Zombies. I didn't even finish the first instalment and won't be using it again.

Would be good if.... It didn't eat 50% of my data in 2 days

Excellent all over.. Great production, great story, great app. Really impressive.

Great idea, frustrating sometimes. Love the idea, fun story with good acting. Motivates me to want to walk more. Just wish there was more content for the length of each episode. I would enjoy it a lot more and feel more engaged in the world and story if the audio clips were longer, or more frequent. It's really frustrating how the story is told in such little bursts so far apart.

Where's the music?. I like the story but having to check and tap every couple of minutes was really annoying. Why can't it just play a whole session like Zombies? And the silence between was boring! I couldn't see any way to add music. Zombies setup was much better.

5 free than you have to pay. Loved the free episodes but graphics and story not the best to be paying monthly subscription fees for

Good app with a hitch. I have only had the app for three days and in that time completed three chapters. However at some point today the ZombieLink app stopped working and now its not linking back up. I’ve paid for ZombieRun and on the first day with The Walk all the lock buttons turned to download buttons, but now they’ve changed back to locks.

Works perfectly. The audio and design are great; the step tracking is as good as anything - on an iPhone 5s, anyway. Which isn’t surprising, everything should use the same data from the M7. It might be less good on older devices, but I unreservedly recommend this on the 5s.

Needs work. No autoplay of story segments, no background music, a shockingly bad pedometer algorithm that picks up 1 in 10 steps (if you're lucky). I want to like this app, but until these issues get seen to - I can't.

Super cool!. It's a really neat premise, and it works pretty well. (I have gone for longer walks just to finish chapters). I don't think the challenges work very well as they force you to wait a full 24 hours until you can progress the story again. It's a very good application none the less, well worth the price.

Love the storyline. Still needs improvement in step count but I love the storyline and the concept. Very motivating.

Um. Doesn't even recognize me walking so what's the point?

Don’t work anymore. I paid for this app which I liked very much and reset it to start again this week. Then the new update make me have to pay again, like I didn’t bought it in the first place. Please fix this!

I love this game.. Everyday I’m wondering how I can get out and walk to complete these challenges and get further in the game. I love this game and I don’t even think about the fact that I’m out walking or that it’s cold out. I just want more of the story. What a brilliant concept.

Highly recommended!. Great nonthreatening app for any fitness level. Adds some intrigue to solo walking. If you are an inactive person looking for an easy start on getting active this is fantastic. The story is engaging with touches of mystery, wry humour and even some touching character development. Game play is simple and easy to understand. The difficulty level is adaptive and will adjust to challenge you as you go through the levels. I recommend this app to anyone wanting to add some interest or motivation to walking, be it for exercise, or commuting or whatever. It will also work while jogging or on a treadmill. For those looking for a beginning fitness app it's an easier start than jumping straight into the more daunting Zombies Run, and a good way to get active and start to build up to jogging or running even if you are completely sedentary. Excellent app.

The Walk. I must say I am disappointed. I thought I could walk with my iPhone in my pocket and it would perhaps alert me when I'd reached checkpoints, but no, I need to carry my iPhone in my hand and constantly check it and manage it with bare hands. It's winter! It's -20 C! I froze my hands, dropped my iPhone in a snow bank when I fell on the ice, missed all the points of interest in the dark, (It gets dark at 3 PM) killed the battery, then lost all the data for my return trip. Now I can't seem to grasp how to even proceed with the third episode. I'd rather just simply go for a walk without the bother and frustration.

Excellent App. I was not sure I would make use of an app like this in my workouts but I have become addicted. The story is compelling and I find that the minor inconvenience of looking at it every 20 minutes or so is really no issue. An improvement could be proximity auto-play. Not fun trying to move to the next audio clip in the snow or rain. It does work better outside and that is a drawback during dark cold winter months when treadmills etc tend to get max use. Overall, despite these small inconveniences I give it 4/5. Now, give us the rest of the episodes!

A bit of disappointment.... I am just getting back into fitness and in the between days of the Zombies, Run! 5K Training I thought I would try this. I did the first episode today and I have to say I really don't care for it. The story is interesting and I like the concept but I don't like the interaction of this. I liked that Zombies,Run! Tells you how much longer to things and the audio allows for my music to be played in between. The Walk doesn't allow me to do that and I constantly have to be staring at my phone. Would it be that difficult to start an episode and have the characters say like 'oh it should just be ahead a couple of minutes' and then play the story audio as you get to it? I want to walk and enjoy it, not walk and stare at my phone. Kind of wish I didn't spend the money on this...

IT IS SO GOOD!. Six to start, they never fail to impress by integrating fitness and fun!

Different from Zombies, Run! but just as good. This is the first day I've been using this but so far it is great! I will have to get used to it, since I'm so used to using Zombies Run. I tend to take long walks on a set route which would finish a Zombies episode per walk, but this is more meant to be taken around with you and run in the background, and then later you can listen to all the clips you unlocked, search for nearby items, etc. I am still using this on my walks and I just check the app every 10 minutes or so to listen to the next clip. It has been smart enough to know when I am actually walking and when I am just standing/sitting - probably by using gps. I'm not sure if I would be able to have it playing on my way to work for example, where I walk a while, then hop on a bus, then walk a while more. Would it think I was moving while on the bus? I don't want to cheat.

Great Game! Definitely Motivating.. After the last couple of updates I find that the step count and walk timing is far more accurate. I find myself trying to find ways to get more steps in during the day, like printing to the furthest printer and taking the long way back to my desk after getting a coffee. Great game and I look forward to finding out what happens next in the story.

Great!. Much better since the last update, the pedometer portion seems to be a lot more accurate on the iPhone 4. Great job Six To Start!

Great game. This app already has me walking more every day. My dog loves it.

Barely usable. The story is fine, but the usability makes it virtually worthless. Simple operations like scrolling take from 5 to 10 seconds, and it's not even doing anything hard. Just updating a single location on a flat (non-3D) map, maintaining a timer, and checking with location services & fitness libraries so see if you are moving. The only time it is usable is immediately after rebooting the phone and then only briefly.'

Really wanted to like this... I deleted this app for two reasons: 1 - it doesn't seem to work with the iPhone music player very well (so either there is silence between story points, or I have to manually go into the app every time), and 2 - having to stop walking every few minutes to check my phone for new "clues", etc, is really inconvenient and kind of annoying.. I love Zombies, Run! If these things were fixed I would probably redownload this

The Walk. Superbe joint l’utile à l’agréable.

Good but.... Good but I need to touch the app to collect clue and scanning for information, etc. You must have the iPhone, iPad or iPod in your hands all the time to interact with the app... is winter here... In the app description said 'put in your pocket or purse' ????

So happy about this update!!. Fantastic game after long awaited, refreshed update. Augmented reality games like The Walk and Zombies, Run! have helped me drop 33 pounds and counting. Another 45 points still left to go, and I look forward to redoing and finishing campaigns while having fun with exercise instead of it being a chore. The voice acting is fantastic. I like that this app allows me to walk indoors during the cold months. Given the obesity epidemic, we desperately need more games like this. Thank you, developers! :)

The Walk. What a awesome idea. Gotta walk so this is a great story telling adventure.

Awesome!. The story is so captivating! I find myself eager to walk more every day!

Love this app. My favourite app. I find myself walking the long way home so I can open more clues.

I love it. Great motivation! I love it!!!

It's -20C !. I gotta touch my phone to use this? I'll check back in the summer.

Good, but could be better…. I love the story line, but being a dog mom with two large dogs it’s difficult having to stop to play the unlocked clips. I’d love to have a hands free option that plays the clip as it unlocks. I’d also love to be able to play my music in between clips like I do with ZR5K and Zombies, Run!

Enjoyable story!. Honestly, this is the best pedometer app ever. I can keep track of my daily steps and walk time and enjoy more and more of the story as I move. I feel like there are ways that this app could be enhanced to make it even more awesome, but it's pretty great the way it is.

Mostly good.... I came to this app after using Zombies, Run! because I was having trouble with my right ankle after runs, and I wanted motivation for walking in the same way I got it from Zombies, but less ankle strain. I liked the ability to have my steps tracked while in my pocket or purse, and of course, a storyline to unlock and listen to. I found it a little hard to adjust to after using Zombies, where things happen automatically with your progress. The storyline comes in (and the music fades) as you reach achievements, and autoplays so you don't have to keep looking at your phone. Similarly, your landscape items aren't collected automatically either. I'm not too upset with this, however I don't like that you can miss items for not checking your phone frequently enough (I'm not even sure how long you have to get them before they disappear), and I am a completist and would/will redo an episode just to collect the missing items. Related to this, because I'm a completist as I said, I always take the longer path to collect the extras, however, sometimes the app will revert back to the short path, and if I don't notice that happened, I can't always fix it. Sometimes I will notice it before I get to the split and move it back, but sometimes I miss it and am too late to fix. This happened today. I set it for the long path and when I checked in at a time later, I was partway on the short path again. :( The app crashes every so often, which isn't a huge issue for me, but I find there is sometimes a discrepancy between the app when I access it from the main screen vs from the double tap to flip between open apps (and close as needed). This is annoying. This has been a particular issue with the challenges, as the version from the double tap access will have my correct progress, but accessing the app from the main screen will have lost my progress and make me start over. So, I really do like the app, as evidenced by my 4 star rating, but I believe it could benefit from a bit of work. Options to autoplay the audio clips (and integration with music player) and possibly automatically collect landscape items (or at least have them not vanish once available) would be nice. Also, better synchronization between the app when opened from the main screen vs the double tap task manager option is needed. I really hope that this app will have a big update soon. I really like it and feel like it has room to improve. Thanks for taking on the ride!

Logical Next Steps.... It is disappointing that this app has not been upgraded to work on the Apple Watch. It seems like a logical pairing. Something for future consideration

Very Disruptive. If you are out for a stroll and don't mind having to take out your device and interact with it every 7 minutes or so then this is the app for you. If you are trying to get a serious walk in, are walking in the rain or, in my case, walking in minus 30, then this level of interaction is annoying. After a minute in minus 30 your finger tips start to hurt. Great story that will keep you amused while out for a leisurely stroll. Otherwise stick with Zombies Run.

Disappointed. Very disappointed with this. I personally don't need an app swearing at me. I also don't love that it is buggy about tracking my movement. It also is a huge battery drainer.

Captivant et motivant. On veut connaître la suite... Donc on marche encore un peu.

Disappointing. After the thrill of Zombies, Run! this was a let down. It's not intuitive at all to use, and it took me an entire episode of missed checkpoints and features to figure out even the basics. The app essentially requires that you have your phone in hand at all times, which simply isn't practical. I just started a "challenge," but the instructions were unclear and now I can't seem to go back, which means I'm likely to fail the challenge and have to go back. I'm looking forward to the return of Zombies, Run! I the spring. I like it much better.

Fun game, battery drain. The walk is a fun game that will more than motivate you to get off your couch. The voice acting is decent and the story is exciting enough to keep you entertained. On a technical level, there's bound to be visible battery drain on any app that uses GPS as often as the walk does. As a 5S owner, it's nice that the app apparently makes use of the M7, but wouldn't it make more sense to allow the 5S to simply not use the GPS at all and rely solely on the M7 step data? Either way, if you're used to running and walking apps the battery drain won't be a hurdle for you to get passed.

Not bad in current form. But not great must buy either.. I enjoyed Zombies, Run! enough that I bought this app without delay when it was released. But I have to say that in the app isn't much beyond a pedometer. You can take your phone out of your pocket every 15 minutes or so of walking to tap at a couple of things on the screen but as an interactivity element I'm really not happy with it. For one thing it is dang cold outside right now so my walking is done in such an environment that I'm not going to stop to scan the digital screen. You don't need to do this to complete the story aspect of The Walk so it is unlikely they will change this element either way. The story is ok. I prefer the way it comes in Zombies, Run! if for no other reason than it plays mixed in with my music/podcasts while I'm running. I haven't found a way to get it to play the story elements on its own, which makes sense as it also tracks my walking all day and I wouldn't want a story element to be played while I'm walking down a hallway at work.

Disappointed. I wanted to like this app - the premise of having to walk to get a story is great. But it works so poorly on my iPhone 6s. The map is slow in responding. I am on episode 5 and twice it has lost my days data making me wait again to get the story. If I read that they have fixed these issues I will try again.

Love it. What a great way to get people walking. I tend to take one really long walk/hike to get all of the episode done in one go, but you can do it throughout the day. The story is interesting and really makes you want to get to the end. I would recommend doing the whole walk before listen to the sound bites.

Excellent way to get moving. I'm completely hooked. This is a really fun way to get yourself walking. I'm out and about much more, just to unlock additional story segments. I'll be sorry when I get to the end.

Would be a five star app with one small change. It's pretty unreasonable to expect someone to drag their phone out of their pocket and keep checking it to see if they've reached the next part of the story. Please add an autoplay option to make it continue the story when you've walked enough!

Engaging story. A very fun app, it really motivates me to get out of the office and go for a lunchtime walk so I can find out what happens next in the story -and get some fresh air. I also alternate it with Zombies, Run! in the mornings.

So Far So Good. I tried it today while out walking with my dog. I do have to play a bit with it more to get completely familiarize with it but so far I have not been disappointed. It's a good Winter alternative to ZR (after all ice and zombies are not a good combination at all!)

Keeps you motivated!. I need to keep walking to find out what's happening next! This is the very most interesting pedometer ever!

Needs an update. Save your money, skip this app until it's updated. I use the Zombies, Run app from the same company and was excited to try this app out too. Waste of time and money. If you have one of the newest iOS versions skip this app as it doesn't run well. The entire UI is super slow, it crashes, and does NOT play well with music players. It's a shame because the story seemed neat, but the app is almost unusably unresponsive.

Just what I was looking for!. I love games that function on my activity. This one has a marvelous evolving story that reveals itself as you walk. Can't wait to finish it. I will be on the lookout for more storylines.

I was skeptical but.... This app has come in handy. I’ve been searching for something to get me up and out on the weekends to get steps. I’m only on episode 3 but it’s just good enough to make me anxious to see what happens next

No sound. No help. Says one minute to the next clip. Pass that and say s 3 mins to next clip but didn't hear the previous clip. Help and tutorial useless: neither discuss clip or sound issues. Going into the trash and this is an app I thought sounded like it would be worth the subscription but without being able to hear the clips it's nothing.

Battery Drain and bugged tracking. Battery went from fully charged to 4% after a 33-ish minute walk, ahich actually turned into 45, because the motion tracking didn't work reliably. Would request a refund if I could. Would not recommend this app for purchase in its current state.

Full of bugs. This app is horrible. It doesn't play and the pointer doesn't move even after I've walked 5 minutes. Waste

Good but.... I enjoy the story and the concept getting to look for hidden gems (the boxes) but as others have said, you have to click to play the audio. The app is also rather large. I haven't much of a battery issue. It drains it faster but I still last a 9 hr work day. If you don't mind those little things, get the app!

Great little app. I enjoyed the storyline on my summer walks. App worked great. I’d be happy for more!

Great - shows age, but best motivational to move out there. Great - shows age, but best motivational to move out there Wish there were more like it

Requires interaction. The killer for me with this app is that it expects you to keep your face buried in it while walking, interacting with it on a regular basis. That might work OK on a treadmill at the gym but certainly not outdoors where you should be paying attention for your safety. I like the apps that let you press start, put your phone in your pocket, go on your walk uninterrupted, and finish when you are done. This one just doesn’t work in that way.

I love the story!. The story is awesome and it makes me walk further to get to the end of each episode. Sometimes it is a bit buggy and has issues with loading but otherwise it is fantastic!

Bad Walk. It looks like a really cool story but... 1. Way too many requirements to “allow” before getting started. 2. After the first mission the app wouldn’t track my gps movements meaning it recorded I walked 0 minutes when I walked 60. If the gps isn’t working there should be a step counter option, 3. Touch screen mechanics are clumsy and not as immersive as they could be. If all those issues are fixed then I’ll gladly give this game more stars.

Needs more instructions. I enjoyed using this but I have trouble getting it to play the episodes so I don't seem to make as much progress as I expected

Losing interest quickly. I really liked the idea of this app but that's where it ends. It freezes constantly so you can't accomplish anything. If it's not frozen it's force closing. Too bad. Could be fun

Not good for people with poor vision. As part of the gameplay you tap teeny tiny flashing white boxes. It’s very hard to see the little boxes especially outdoors and you cannot embiggen the map to make the little boxes easier to see. Feels a bit discriminatory against the low-sighted.

Good concept. I don't like how slow to respond it is. Takes forever to update mid walk. Can't even move around the map properly. The story really has potential but not sure if I can deal with the issues long enough to see what happens.

Not what I hoped for. I love zombies run, so when I heard of this app by the same people I excitedly purchased it. After trying it the first time I was disappointed to learn that you can't listen to music between story lines & you must keep staring at your phone like a drooling idiot to access the story clips. I wish I had spent my money on the 7 minute super hero or a month of zombies instead.

Walking Spy Novel. I'm about half-way through this and playing with my sister. This is great entertainment while you are out on a walk. The story has so many twists and turns. I'll be sorry when it's done.

Never ever upgrade your phone. Support for this app is frustratingly nonexistent. When you upgrade your phone then you lose all progress. If you are a month or two in to the story the support team tells you to continue using your old phone. The crappy thing is that the developers have solved this for their other apps like Zombies Run. For some reason they just don't care about supporting this app. Exceptionally lazy support for what is really a very nice app.

Location ‘Always’?. This game only works with Location->Always. Would be nice if it was ‘While using’. I want to play this game but I’d prefer to do it without ‘Big Brother’ watching over my every move. No thanks...

Makes me want to take that extra few steps!. This app is fun and motivating! I like the story, and the Zombies, Run Easter eggs are fun to watch out for! I don't think I've had any of the issues others have mentioned. I love this little health app!

Love this app. But if you want it to succeed in America (and I realize it's set in Scotland) than maybe make a version with American voices because as someone with a British accent living in states trust me people are crap at accents here

Great app but diapointed. Love this app. Love the story. That is, up to episode four. Then you have to buy the rest.

Gives me a goal. This gets me out the door and walking by giving me goals and keeping me interested in the story.

Buggy? Sure. But I'm totally walking.. If they made another one that was just as buggy, I'd happily buy that one too.

Started out well. Great concept and beginning but it gets stuck after episode 2. Will be asking for money back.

Awesome motivation!. This app is so much fun. The story line is fun and the game motivates me to get up from my desk and get moving. I will be purchasing this makers apps!

Reset halfway. Halfway through episode one it reset when I had to go to a different app. When I came back I was back at the start. Kinda cool but not redoing it.

Not working. I’ve been at the exact same place for the last three days. Probably going to delete it since it no longer works. Sad :/

Still Crashes and wont open. It opened the first time i loaded but, past then it crashes a few seconds after launch on the loading screen.

Sounds intriguing. Would like to be able to use it. It only works for iPhones, and I only have an iPod. Therefore, if it loses track of where I am (no wifi), then this is useless. Can this not just have a timer so I can go places and listen to the story instead of having to go buy a smartphone just for this?

Great rework of the original!. Still needs cloud backup. I lost my progress on the old app twice and after getting burned I’m not willing to try the new one until we get backup of progress data.

Good but. Love zombies run but this is lacking. In zombies run the story goes as you play. I use this while I ruck and I can’t have my phone in my hands non stop I’d love if I could make the story play out as I walk.

Unresponsive and uninteresting. I had a lot of interest in this app but it has been a big disappointment. The app itself is ridiculously slow on my iPhone 6 — I'm talking 2-3 second delays between tapping on something and actually getting a response. Even if this were fixed, this game is basically a bad, short audio book for which you have manually play each paragraph. I feel ripped off.

Needs some updating…. I dislike having I have the app open at all times, and having to press a button to make the next audio clip run. Even while walking, I don't want to have to keep looking down at my phone! It's distracting and unsafe!

A win. Motivates me to take my dog for a walk more than his sad face.

Love it so far, but one request!. Can the app get data from the Apple Watch? I keep forgetting to grab my phone at work...

Requires too many permissions. I was so excited to try this. I love Zombies, Run and I love The Walk podcast, but this app won’t let me play unless I allow Locations even when I’m not using it, and Background Refresh? Not worth it. What’s the point of using this app if it’s just going to drain my battery the second I walk out the door? So disappointing.

Its ok. I found this though the Zombie Run app. I was expecting it to be more like the zombie run app with clips to listen to while listening to your own music, seeing as it was made by the same people. Im exercising and focusing on what im doing, i don't want to pull out my phone ever few min to listen to a clip. The zombie run app helps me get moving and looking forward to the next clip. This app…. No motivation there. Sorry.

Nosy Nelly. This app will not function without carte blanche access to your device - ie it requires access to your location even if you use a treadmill.

Needs an update. I actually really liked the idea of this story, I enjoyed the clips that I did listen to. The major beef here is that we should be able to hear the clips in real time. I want to be immeresed in the story not have to hope that I cleared enough steps to earn an audio clip I wont listen to.

Don't waste your money. I love zombie, run! which is an app by the same company but I don't so much run as walk a majority of the time. Decided to give this a try thinking it would work the same way. It is awkward while walking, slow to respond and cumbersome. I have a iPhone 6s so it's not like I have an older phone which would be the cause. I wish I would've listened to the other reviews that recommended not to buy it. Shame on me.

Not particularly safe. Interesting storyline with great voice acting!...but repeating what has been said, you have to fiddle with your phone as you’re walking. I am not just out for a leisurely stroll, wanting to stop or slow down every few minutes to push play. I want to walk and not be paying so little attention to my surroundings that I end up tripping or something.

Why not automatic?. Story is interesting but I can understand why the story doesn’t play automatically like zombies run. No one wants to be messing with there phone every five seconds when they are trying to exercise. It doesn’t even audio alert you, you have to check in ur self :/ Also you pretty much wont find objects unless your walking with ur eyes glued to ur phone.

Could get it to play past first 2 minutes. I am pausing my actual walk to tell you all this program does not run on my iphone 6

Love this app. I love this app, I work in the health field so I walk a lot. it's fun to have a little game along with for the game and I listen the awesome story at the end of the day. The challenges are a nice way to break up the story. I only wish they'd make one based in America

Super fun but.... It needs a music option, and it's buggy. I got to level 4, and my progress was halted. It just keeps starting level 4 over and over again. Also, it needs to alert you when path options happen so you don't miss them.

Wish I could save progress. That is my only critique - I would love to save my progress, since i’ve had to cut walks short on occasion and waste all my progress 😓

Great Idea, but.... It stole my battery so quickly. I took a walk on 26 percent on low battery mode for thirteen minutes and my phone died before I could get home. Do not buy.

Need more compatibility. I was hoping I could sync my Fitbit to it since I don't always have my phone on me. :/ Thats the only reason I bought the app.
