Brainless pathetic customer service. I had connected to customer service for one of my “On Hold” transaction, which was due to an incorrect configuration from my side. Customer person convinced me, that I should cancel, correct the configuration and retry the money transfer to solve it, which I agreed to do so. Then the best part comes in. The service person cancelled my another correct transaction, which is about to deposit in the account. Now it is been communicated that I should wait for another couple more days to get my cash back in the my account and to retry the transfer. Thank god, the faulty transaction is still there with status “On Hold” :) My bad, I choose Remitly, never again!

I love Remilty. After sending money for years via Western Union or Money Graham I was utterly frustrated with the fact that there are apps kept stopped working after a while and I’d have to delete and re-download them. And then one day Western Union in for me that I have been flagged they canceled my money transfer my fiancé needed the money to pay some bills and She had her cable shut off because of Western Union canceling my transfer and flagging me. I repeatedly contacted Western Union asking for an explanation on why they did that and all they could say is that I may have violated some law in some country they do business in and therefore I said bye-bye Western Union and Money Graham and now I switch to Remilty and I couldn’t be happier!!!

An inexpensive way to transfer money overseas. Their app and website is simple and direct, except for changing the country the Recipient do you want to send the money to. It took quite a bit of searching around to find out that I had to go to settings in order to change the country first and then I could find the recipient that I had previously sent money to. If you look under history, only the recipients in the country the country that’s presently selected will show up. So that way you cannot switch back-and-forth between different recipients. Without going to the settings and changing the country. Took a while for me to figure this out and the software in this case needs to be corrected to make that simpler. Other than that it draws money directly out of my bank account and only charges a very low fee if I do that method. There is an option of sending money by credit card or debit card, but you’d have to check with your bank about the charges involved with sending money to a foreign denomination. I just go with the less expensive simple withdrawal from my bank account.

Supports scammers. Remitly is a safe way for scammers now a days to get your money and never hear from them again. Happened to me as well. I got scammed for almost $400 that I worked very very hard for. I should’ve read these reviews before I decided to use this app. Customer service is THE WORST you can find out here. They hang up on you if you have any issues and they say they will call you back and never do. They have canceled my remitly account in order to keep me from getting into the account. Which makes no sense. This app supports fraud that is being committed over seas. Once your money goes through couple of clicks your money will be gone forever. Remitly and people that work for remitly refuse to help you with any help that you need. Even though the company policy says that if there’s any issue with transfer., they can give you a refund within 180 days. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. Once your money gets through remitly, it is gone. I have been trying to get in touch with customer service for the past month now regarding the refund that I requested literally a day after it was done and they won’t help. BE AWARE.

Terrible Customer Service!!!. I send to myself $2500 from my US account to the Dominican Republic to pay for some remodeling with a condo I purchased. The remolded ended up costing more than anticipated I tried sending myself another $2500 and the totally cancel my account. Even thou I provided EVERYTHING they asked for. I mean Everything! Bank statements, a long questionnaire, uploaded a picture of my passport and still they will not reinstate my account and they say they can’t tell me why. I tried calling everyday for 7 days and they refuse to let me talk to a supervisor or someone in the fraud department so I can clear any doubts but all they say is the account is close indefinitely and can’t tell me why. How can they decide to cancel your account without any explanation whatsoever! It really is the worst experience in trying to send money to a foreign country! If you have had the same experience we should do a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!

Bad services. I’m a customer that madr my transfer everytime with remitly and really there are 2 big things that i don’t really understand: 1. Time processing wrong: everytime time that the trasnfer said one day is deposit in the account recipients other day. Giving wrong information. Don’t promise thing that you won’t be able to keep. For me said next day——> took 2 weeks better not say anything and you are going to receive less bad coments 2. Tricky information: when that happens, the customer services gave me like a compensation for all the inconvenience, one transaction free!!! I said ok im going to still sending money. I wrote 3 times (20 min each) and they keep telling me that i have a free transaction and is going to use automatically. And never happen. Erase the app, download again. Nothing. I wrote again and in that time “carlos” explain me that i ONLY can use it when i transfer dollar exchange to soles... what?? I never transfer dollar to soles. Why they offer me a compensation that not fit what i need. Also if i take that compensation Is not good for the customer is only good for the company the exchange is 3.34 and in Peru is 3.42 how is going to be a a compensation if are taking From my money anyway in the exchange..........

Best of 2 others tried….read on…... First, I used to send money to my wife in Ukraine via Western Union, which in just a few months gave trouble just after few months ( less than 6 months or so in 2019) Then I switched to “Wise”, and I wonder why they call themselves “WISE “.. 4 months journey and end of it Somehow, I came across Remitly, and being , again, skeptical, gave them a try, around 2 years ago. Nonetheless, once War broke out on Feb 24th 2022 and me just having left Kiev on Feb 22nd kissing my wife “ poka/ Dasvadenya “, and my overtime etc here at US being limited due to personal choice due to my stress, REMITLY HAS NOT ONLY FAILED ME ago send money to my wife not only in Ukraine , but Europe . THAT TOO, with $ 0 fees. I SALUTE REMITLY, from the bottom of my heart. Am still crossing my fingers but glad my wife is safe in Europe with her family, though I miss our beloved cats , we both adopted from the harsh wild at Irpen, an O’ blast in Ukraine that either lost their lives ( or hopefully and a better situation).. Old Man in the New World Order. Using REMITY, other than the cellphone GPS is the best thing that technology has given this 74 year old, who to this day chooses pencil and paper to his computer. Very hard to break old habits, and I think technology, in general, will ruin this Country. That being said, there is nothing in this world EASIER and COMPLETELY RELIABLE than transferring money form my Bank in New Jersey to where I now live, Medellin Colombia. I know there are dozens and dozens of services, but when you are told your money will be wire transferred, and be to you on Wednesday @ 1:34pm, and is available about two hours earlier, you have to tip your hat and say thanks. If everything in life was this easy, my last years would be a lot more enjoyable. A SIX STAR SERVICE, with constant updates.

Terrible service to long time customers. I used the services of this app for several years. Then I started to send transactions more often due to medical expenses of my relatives. So this people started to ask me for personal information like ID , social security number at first I agree and provide some documentation but then they asked me for my bank statement?? Like seriously who they think they are??? I refused to share my personal information, and they wouldn’t let me send money. So I took my business to a different company. There are better companies out there than this company I recommend MoneyGram, BarryMoney, WorldRemit, Elektra just to name a few. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY SINCE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY AND NOT TO CUSTOMERS. To Developer. I understand perfectly about regulations. That’s why proper identifications are provided but to ask more private information it’s not right. YOU got no right to ask for more confidential information that not even government agencies ask for. And for that more customers will stop using this service.

Bad service. Bad service and also bad customer service. I’m in Mexico and I tried to send money to my brother in law so he can give it to me and he wasn’t able to get it out. The called me to let me know the money was in hold because they need to verified some information about my account. The half me on hold for 15 min. They the told me that they needed to verified my bank account that it was mine that I had to send a bank statement to them. First time using this app and it was a fail. It’s has 5 stars but it’s not what they say it is. I told the the lady that was helping me out if there anything they can do since there a 5 star rating and she only keep saying that she needed my bank statement and to top it of they blocked my account I can’t go in the app. What time off app does this so the won’t get a bad review I’m telling you this is not what they say it is. I honest don’t recommend this app if you need to seen money ASAP.

Really bad service. One day we saw 500usd got withdrawn from bank account that was link to remitly then we log on to remitly and see 3 more transactions was make lucky our bank account got only 500 usd . So we call remitly about it and they gonna investigate on it while the investigation on going the account will be ban and they will call us back in 2-3 day. After 3 day we got call back from remitly that they said they already send back the money to our bank account , it gonna take 3-10 day for money to be back to bank account . After 10 day we call remitly and they say receiver already got they money so they can’t do anything about it. So if anyone thinking of using remitly make sure don’t link any accounts that have more money then you think you would send from remitly. In my case I could have lost much more then 500usd cause there was 3 more transactions after that 500usd was make. DONT EVEN THINK OF HAVING A CHANCE OF REFUND BY REMITLY EVEN THOUGH YOU DIDNT CLICK SEND BUTTON.

Worst customer service. Did a transaction and would like to cancel. But couldn’t find the cancel option so connected to the customer service executive, they couldn’t help to cancel that transaction and started saying false information to get this transaction completed. I never prefer to be using Remitly back again for my future transaction anymore and will never suggest to any of my friends. Hope the remitly people can give a well organized, well designed training to there executives of how to help the valuable customers who work hard to pay off there bills by taking the chance of high exchange rates but that’s not helping with remitly customer service staff. So I hope remitly can train some educated staff who can understand the customer needs/questions and solve by providing 100% satisfaction. Good bye remitly.

Worst customer service ever!. I had done transactions in the past and everything was good, but I messed up on the account number one time, so I tried to cancel it and they told me their parent bank wouldn’t let them cancel the deposit, that there was nothing they could do at the moment, but their refund and cancellation policy states; “You can cancel for a full refund anytime unless the funds have been picked up or deposited”, so this is a lie, you can’t cancel the transaction at anytime because their customer service people don’t know how to do this, they told me they sent an email to someone else to cancel it and that it would take 2 days for them to be able to do anything, the money went into the wrong account in 4hrs. It’s a good app, but make sure you don’t make any mistakes whatsoever or you’ll end up losing your money completely.

this app is useless. They called and asked me for more information to verify my account and promised to give me a call back if they need more info. And then suspended my account without giving me the call as they promised. Very unprofessional. I called the main line and there is nothing they can do to reactive my suspended account even tho I am willing to provide them more information but it's always "we can't do anything". They do not really know what's the exact issue but its because of suspicious activity. Can they be more professional? If it is because of suspicious activity, they should have call me as what they promised and tell me about it, so I can answer to all of the questions they have. But they did not call me and just decided to suspend the account and cancel the transaction. What if my transaction is critical and someone's life is on the line because of it? What if my transaction is for something in the hospital and they really do need that amount? Remitly just decided to suspend and cancel the transaction without getting anything? What is the point of having customer service when they can't help you with anything? Instead of helping or fixing the issue, they just told me that I cannot use remitly anymore. And that, my friend, that's how you lose clients. This is my first time using this app too. This is such a let down. Going to delete this app and tell me friends to do so as well. Unbelievable customer service.

Worst customer service ever. I had sent money out of country many times using this app and over time i have noticed the customer service reps are extremely rude and blunt. They never give you full information or tell you everything that you should know. One of my transaction was on hold and i contacted customer service to ask the issue. He told me it will be approved ones i give him the transaction id or whatevrr needed. HE DID NOT TELL ME HE IS asking to approve a second money order. A day later when i saw two different transactions I reached out to customer service for explanation. Instead of explaining what happened he said i had (in very rude tone) reached out for help after my payments were sent (not true because why would i reach out after it was sent and say there is a hold on it). When i kept trying to explain to him he kept getting annoyed and rude and kept saying he doesnt have my password how can he send the money. I am not old or someone who is new to technology nor i am a Karan. I do many money orders at CVS.. its a bit different but i still have to deal with rude customers but i have never been this rude to anyone even if they were rude to me. Idk if anyone will even read this and say anything but i am definitely deleteing this app becoming there was absolutely no need for any bish to be rude to me and ignore my main concern.

Used successfully before, but will avoid.. I’ve used Remitly before to transfer money from the US to an account abroad. It worked great and I recommended the service to others. Last week, I tried to make a transfer to my landlord’s account in Central America. The day after it was supposed to arrive, there was no update. So I chatted with a representative in the app. They said they’d need to use another mkney transfer provider and the transfer would go through in an hour. Then I get a phone call from another Remitly rep who wants to ask me some verification questions. Fine. I did so successfully and the rep told me the transfer is approved and would soon go through. Not seconds after this call, I get notices that the transfer is on hold. So I call again and talk to a rep whose English I could barely understand. He ends up transferring me to a higher rep who assures me the transfer will now go through. Again, right after the call, I get notices saying it’s on hold. I chat again with someone! Not helpful at all, so I end up canceling the transfer. The rep then tells me my money will be back in my bank account in 5-10 business days. Absolutely ridiculous. The app and service are now worthless to me and I’ll steer as many others away from it as I can.

Forget to send funds within the week if not Monday. I have been using this app since more than a couple of years now. I hardly had to interact with their service representatives since the app has a very good user experience. It just i got used to the waiting for refunds when the transaction is cancelled for any reason. Not everyone has that parience to wait 3-4 days to get the funds back. The Economy transfer time (which is actually below the current market exchange rate) takes minimum 5 days to complete. And if started on Monday, it reaches the other end on Friday. Otherwise it will be received next week, if started the transaction after Monday of any week. It’s ridiculous to take so much time. The funds gets deducted from the account within a day and another 4 days you just wait to get it delivered. I really hope they deliver the money to the recipient within 2 days, but in reality it’s not the case. On the other hand, for the same delivery account, if used the express option, the funds get delivered within 10-15 mins. Which is a pretty good option if you are in hurry and ready to lose some more $$ on exchange price.

Total fraud app!. Only sent $1600 abroad and got rejected. Called customer service for 1hr30mins, ask for my name, social number, address, my work place, tax ID, bank statements everything, and still lock my account said I don’t have the source of the $1600?!? I freaking own a company in NY! And provided all the information. I asked for the Representive’s first and last name and rep ID, he refused to give and said that’s the personal/private information, yet all my PERSONAL documents sent to them are not personal/private information? They are using customers documents for illegal purposes for sure! And yet the $1600 they rejected they still CHARGED from bank! Disgusting app, disgusting services!

The worst app to solve problems.. It turns out that my Remitly account was "suspended" due to suspicious activity. I call for that problem solved with my account, it turns out that the one who takes care of me for the first time with that case tells me that my debit card cannot be removed from that account because according to them it is "suspended" and that apart from that I cannot put that same card back because it is in an account "suspended" according to them and that Second time I call and who takes care of me this time, if you tell me that I can open a case to recover an account, with a duration of 72 hours. Supposedly they opened the case for me and they would be calling me or sending me an email, things that I never received. Weeks passed and today I decided to call again and the only thing they knew how to tell me was that the "Customer Protection Department" made the decision not to reopen my account. Now they can't remove my card from that supposedly "suspended" account and I can't add it to a new account, because it's already in an account. 🤡

Absolutely no part of this app works. I wasted my time by trying your “service”. The transaction was a whopping ten dollars to girlfriend. My bank accepted the debit but your app, predictably, screwed it up. You cancelled the huge transaction and the suspended my account. Your brainiac help section suggested resetting my password. Tried that many times. I input my email address and click reset and it simply deletes the email address and asks me to do it again. And again. And again. I then went to your “virtual assistant” but that doesn’t work because, lo and behold, your chat page will not allow us to scroll down to the place where we can enter anything! We can read your opening remarks in the chat boxes, but on iPhone we can’t scroll the chat down far enough to be able to type a response. We can force the chat window to go down and we can see the empty Message box, but when we release the chat window it bounces back upward so that nothing can be typed. Now we don’t really have words for this level of utter and rank incompetence. It’s rare to see an app this screwed up. At this point there’s absolutely nothing we can do. Now it’s up to you. Either fix this account or we will delete the app and be very, very public in our review, above and beyond the official review in the Apple Store. You people cannot seem to accomplish one single thing correctly. But we suggest you TRY.

Documents take forever. I was a very happy user until they started the double security step. I needed to send money right away, the app doesn’t tell you anything about uploading additional documents such as driver license and proof or residence before you send money. Once you ‘sent the money’ I got a message saying my founds were on hold until I uploaded additional information. I’ve been sending money before and now that I needed it urgently they just suddenly asked for that. Ok, so I sent the documents on a Friday at 1 pm, I got an email saying my money was going to be processed until Monday morning since they have to review my documents. What??? You should’ve let the costumers know the extra security steps before sending money. I canceled my transfer and I won’t ever use this service. You guys don’t understand we need to send money as soon as possible and you can’t just simply hold your money without prior notice. Terrible!

Favorite app to send money. So the first time I used this app, it took a while for the system to verify the documents for the person receiving the money, but it’s only a $3 fee so I thought I’d rather wait then go to a store and pay more. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. it’s been a smooth ride ever since. NO issues. It does take a while to return your money if you cancel, but I’m sure Of the money that needs to be sent now so that is not a problem for me. Love this app. So easy and convenient to send money from my US bank account over to Family in Mexico. Very quick transactions. Love that I get notified of every step of the progress my money has made. Very user friendly app. Remitly will forever be my favorite way of sending money.

Be careful about this company. I wanted to increase my sending limit to tier 3. They requested my Govt issued ID, SSN and Bank Statement which I sent over to them, I sent over a screen shot of the first page of my bank statement the information on this page includes, Acc name, Acc Number, my PERSONAL ACCESS NUMBER, Balance and a few transactions. They went ahead to reject it citing I needed to send a PDF copy of my bank statement. Why does your company need a PDF format of my full statement of account? I don’t know what you are using this sensitive documents for or what database you store them that might or might not be vulnerable to hackers. You guys have a lot of questions to answer. I am penning a letter to FTC. I called their customer service to fully understand why they needed a .PDF copy and not a .JPEG or .GIF or .DOCX none could explain why they needed it. They said it’s to protect their integrity, what about my privacy? Somethings is wrong.

Very bad services support.. I have been waiting 6 days for my 4th transaction to complete. I’m watching the updates all the time, and it just say that it is processing since May 14, I tried to get more information about my process and nobody could give me a concrete time estimate for when my transaction would be completed. In orden to get my money back as soon as possible, I cancelled my transaction, and today I received a mail where they told me that I have to wait 7 business days more. They claimed that this waiting time was due to the recipient bank. Nevertheless, the recipient bank in colombia had not idea about this and had never took part in the transaction. It is insane how this app is playing with my money. Moreover, I couldn’t pay my insurance in Colombia last Monday, and now I have to pay a additional fee as a result of the incompetence and terrible service received from WorldRemit. It is sad that I’ve encountered this situation, I was very satisfied with their service so far and I send money back and forth quite often. Bitterly I’ll have to stop using their services, and would never recommend them to anyone.

Do not use Remitly. Please don't use Remitly if you want a smooth transaction. They claim that the money will be available on a particular day but it's not the case. Also on cancellation, it takes 10 business days for your money to be back to your bank account. They have mentioned on the website that if you cancel a transaction within 24 hours, no money will be deducted from your account. However when I did so because I was getting a far more better rate on Xoom, they deducted my money from the bank 3 days after I had already canceled the transaction (within 24hours). When I contacted the customer care, they were rude and non-cooperative and brushed away my concerns. The amount I was sending was not small but in thousands and it mattered to me that my funds reached on time. Now I'm left with no option but to wait for another 10 business days to transfer my money. I was so disappointed that I immediately uninstalled the app and decided never to use Remitly again. Advice to Remitly: The customer service is the worst. Please help your loyal customers or else all the other money transfer services that give better rates and smoother transfers will soon take over.

They Fixed Bug - I can send money again to my wife. For a few weeks I was panicking because none of the customer support people were able to help me with my problem. Each time I had issues sending money to my wife. After 2 years no problems, suddenly the name was wrong. They said the bank in her country kept giving an error message. Which was not true. The internal system had some error and it appeared that way. How do I know? Because when the employees manually copy and pasted the recipient name on their computers, the transfer went through fine. So there was a bug in the system somewhere. I’m just happy they fixed it. Some girl sent my case up to a higher level for investigation. So someone with computer programming/supervisor experience could see what the error was. I think this helped a lot. I love Remitly. Best rates. Fast!!! And the support was always helpful.

Stay away. I opened an account using my Fidelity checking account as form of payment, then after a test transfer I applied for an upgrade to Level 2 or 3 because Level 1 is restricted to very low dollar amounts. After dealing with four different csvce reps I am frustrated: they claim that Fidelity is not a retail bank and that they can’t accept it. They seem not to understand that the very purpose of Remitly is to bypass or replace retail banks. Customer service is really poor and their agents lack training to even recognize an statement of account ( I provided 3 different statements and was told that they “were not statements..”) I did a couple if trial remittances and they went well and were credited in one day. When I tried a 3rd remittance to the same account for a larger amount it did not work : they just hold onti your money for weeks without credit to beneficiary nor refund. After a week waiting for credit a customer service rep told me that they needed copy if my id and proof of funds both of which Remitly had from the time I opened my account. Very sketchy people. You can also see in their response that they do not allude to my issues and just talk about privacy (???). Stay away fron these people if you value your time and your money. Use a different app or just use Apple pay or Paypal

Poor business practices unjustly deleted my account. Had this service for quite a few years. Had friends and family overseas who I sent to. Remitly stopped service for me without warning and no explanation from them and they would not disclose why. I sent money to my wife, her family and some friends of mine and hers who lived there. There was never any illegitimate transfers because my friends always received the money sent but they deleted my account without explanation and any disclosure or discussion. Before and more importantly during Covid and thereafter I helped some friends who lost their jobs as I could out of my heart but small amounts here and there. Usually only 10-20 dollars usd at a time but always helped my wife pay rent and medical expenses for swab tests. I was cut off and I can no longer help out my wife with medical needs and rent which is causing marital difficulties for us as a result. I find this to be unfair and I am absolutely upset that they have done this to me and to the suffering of my family and friends.

Stop using this app. I have been using the service for almost 3 years now and always send money to Ghana for a project I was embarking on back home, just last week I sent an amount of $2,300 the money was deducted from my account successfully. Then called them to increase my daily limit bcs I need to quickly send more money, the agent I spoke with was very rude and disrespectful but I kept my cool but after I got off the phone and tried to log in to my account I saw it was not responding then I called but just to hear my account has been blocked bcs they suspect fraud. Then I said how could that be you have all my details on the account why don't you reach out to me or do your investigations first before closing the account? And also after a while, I received an email saying my transaction has been canceled.... Well since you guys have no respect for your customers and have decided not to return my funds back into my account my lawyers will respond to you guys shortly and also you will hear from BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) it's about time you guys respect the people who uses your platform....... The name of the agent who did that is called Archie an Account Specialist..... Refund my money

Don’t use. Why would you allow me to transfer money if you are still verifying my account. I’m glad I didn’t end up continuing my transaction and waited for the verification process to end. Eventually you guys bombard me with phone calls after I had sent the necessary information. Eventually I contacted the support via the virtual assistant chat and it was incredibly slow which eventually led to them asking to call me. Well they tell me 10 minutes later they can’t call me and then suspend my account indefinitely. I can’t say I’m surprised I was already suspicious of how Western union and MoneyGram were able to verify my information within minutes and this service was not. Fix your algorithm. 24 hours to be useless . I didn’t lose anything I was just laughing at how bad this service is. If you aren’t verified on the spot please stay away and I’m glad the rest of you were able to use this service without my problem.

Teaser rate and cumbersome. So Remitly somehow manages to get ranked as having the best exchange rate due to having a low first time user rate. After that the rate is significantly worse than other remittance services...WorldRemit and Xoom are at least $18 better per $1000 sent. The more disturbing issue is that after they withdraw the money from your bank account they “hold it for review” until you verify your identity...that may seem prudent but they fail to properly explain how the verification process works...so it can be that you end up in an endless verification loop with no one telling you how to do it correctly. I finally got through to their chat help and they told me to do something completely different than the app instructions. My money was on “hold” for a whole day. Other services have our issuing bank do the verification...something we can easily and painlessly do.

Lying about their cancellation policy. This app claims that u can cancel or modify ur deposit as long as it wasn’t delivered or picked up but that’s a lie. I mistakenly send my money to the wrong bank (2 banks had almost identical names and I didn’t catch it at the moment), I realized my mistake few minutes later but there was no option to cancel my transfer. Mind u, it said that the money will arrive the next day, so clearly my transfer was still being processed. I contacted customer support and their agent told me she’ll try to cancel it. Well, she didn’t cancel it, the transfer went through and after that same agent told me that there’s nothing can be done about it. The mechanics of this app is very sketchy, they claim that they need to use the entire day to transfer ur money (to verify ur transfer), but then they still send ur money through to the nonexistent account and say that there’s nothing they can do. Horrible service

zero star, terrible service. I hardly write reviews but I am being frustrated. I sent fifty-five dollars to a family, and they never got it for over 3 days now. I called the customer care service the first day after few hours of the transaction, they told me to wait 24-48hrs. I called everyday but they kept saying the same even after 72hrs from the first day of transaction. It was an urgent money about life. The app messed me up and even while I type this review, nothing has been done. I even told one of the customer care that I wanted to cancel because of the delay, she told me that I should not even think of it because it is a 50-50 chance and that it takes up to 10 business days for their transfer to go through. One of the customer care even hung up on me while I was put on hold. The chat is nothing to talk about because they dont even respond until you call. I'm sure you are reading this review after they mess up your transaction. Remotely isn't for urgent money transfer. The service is bad.

Can't sold problems with bank in Vietnam. It hurts my feeling to see my loved one have to go to bank too many times (4 times and 8 banks locations, more than one week until the day she fights to get that money) to get one small amount of $ I sent them. The app let me pick one bank to transfer $ to $ but then the bank in Vietnam said they only work with Western Union (??) and only transfer VND not USD (??). I chose to change to another bank. This time another problem. There's no place in the app to write my family member's MIDDLE NAME but bank in Vietnam requires middle name. Customer service promised to add middle name but did not do it until the last effort. Even after all the efforts, my mom still got trouble because bank employees find other flaws from the order of names to the old and new address bla bla to prevent her from getting money. She had to fight for it. This is ridiculous. Never seen this when I sent money with WU

Worse app ever.... I do not recommend this application. I would always send money to my brother in Mexico. Keep in mind i did it for over a year. Always trusted this company. Then i started to have problems with them. They only allowed me to send a limited quantity of money. They decided to block my account. I called they said i was able to unblock it. Then they hung up on me. Some girl name Diana then tells me they suspended my account. And i was not allowed to use their service anymore. All i did was send money to my family members... This company make me feel like in doing something wrong. They asume im doing some “kind of suspicious activity” way to address a loyal costumer. I hope Remitly approves my petition of deleting all my files from their system. If you guys don’t want to provide me service never again i don’t agree to you guys having my personal information. Heads up people this is app is a no no. If i was able to put 0 starts i would.

Bad service- customer care wasn’t helpful much either. I did make a transaction using bank account it gave 2 options of delivery 1. Express and 2. Economy I did select express but it took economy when I went to next step on the final page it said transaction is in progress and delivery is economy and showing deliver for next Monday it is one week from now. I am using express to make sure to send transaction with in minutes. When I connected with customer support through the chat option, I gave reference number too he asked me to start over the transaction again. I cancelled current transaction and processed it again and it still did the same it took economy by default though I selected express. When I say this in the chat they say I am going through bank account and it won’t transfer immediately so asked me to do it using debit or credit card. I asked if it won’t do express transfers when using a bank account for funds transfer why does it shows me 2 options in which one is express when it is not meant to do so. They don’t have a answer all they said is we will make this issue as a priority for you. I did add debit card and it still does the same. I got so frustrated and cancelled my transaction and when through other money transfer application. Remitly got worst service.

Remitly has made a faithful user. My entire family has always used Western Union to send money to Mexico. Naturally, when I started to need to transfer money from my US to my Mexican bank accounts, I used Western Union. I thought a “quick” transfer was 24 hours. I had a horrible experience transferring a large sum of money with them around the same time that I saw an ad for Remitly and thought I’d give it a try. And I am never going back! The Remitly app is such a streamlined and more modern experience, and my money arrives in MINUTES, every time! I’ve never waited over an hour to receive the funds, and the fastest time was 20 minutes. It’s nice not to feel like your money is floating lost in some wires somewhere out there in the world. I’ll be making sure my entire family switches over, it’s a much better experience from start to finish.

Getting ahold of them is a pain!. I got the app to send money to family in need in Brazil. I’ve had the worst experience with them so far! I sent MY MONEY to Brazil a week ago and it’s still “in review” by the partner bank which is bull cuz I payed the fee to have it available right away! I’ve sent them all the information they requested and keep calling them to see why my transfer is at a stand still and it takes over an hour before someone answers and most of the time they close the phone on me before it gets resolved! I have to go through the whole process all over again! It’s still not resolved and it’s been a WEEK! I’ve been calling everyday and it’s the same everyday! I don’t have the time to sit here babysitting them just so MY money could be released to MY family member! Money is going towards my elderly grandmas care who is very sick and this app is making it that much harder to those who are taking care of her without the needed funds. This is my first and last time using this app! Ridiculous!!! I’m going back to using trusted old WesternUnion

Keep services economical…. I have used many services in the past, Asher awhile of using them, they start to ask for reviews, or start asking questions about their service and if you love their service. Well, one think I have learnt is that after I give my review they start to change. They change their prices and or start adding more fees. I take it they use record to see if people really love the service and deduct statistics to show who would no matter how high or how much the service charge will be willing to pay those new prices and fees. So, this is why today I decided to give my review, however in doing so I cross my fingers and engage in prayers that everything stays the same and economically!

Bye bye money gram. Remitly is one if not the best and most reliable money transfer from my personal experience. I have family in Mexico and not once have I had an issue; their transfer fee is only 3.99. So not only is it reliable but affordable as well so there’s no need to waste gas money to go find a money gram place when you can just do it from the comfort of your own home on your phone at a very affordable rate. I don’t know how anyone’s else experience is but I have to say this app is reliable because it gets there within minutes not hrs, trusting because not once have I been scammed or had an issue with the funds being delivered and effective because they get the job done. You have nothing to lose by trying it out trust me.

The best app!. I’ve been searching for an app or service which can transfer money overseas without charge me too much, take a long time to get the and secure. I am very sceptical when it comes to money, so I need to be sure that my information is safe and my money have sent out securely. I found this app on google and it turns out very amazing! When I used it the first, a customers service called to verify my information and ID is correct. Since then, I’ve been using this app without feeling scared or worried that my money will be stolen. They have express service which your fund will be delivered only in a few minutes! The service fee isn’t too bad only 4$. Plus, This app is very user friendly. Under appreciated Loyal Customer. I’ve been using remitly for about 10 years. I have no problem with them from the start but with what happen recently I have concluded that this is not the right remitance you should trust. I try to send money for my family in the Philippines then suddenly they delayed my transaction for some unusual reasons. They want me to send a copy of my bank statement to push throught with the process. After sending the requirements, they told me I need more information about the money that comes in and out of my bank. In my own perspective, its none of their business if I have money that get deposited from different account due to personal reasons. I felt disrespected by this company as they didn’t even bother to consider my reasons that someone back home needed the money for emergency. I was stress for 4days because if this matter. They promised to give me updates and help to resolve this matter but theh end up suspending mu remitly account due to this. Which is why I told ny friends and family never trust this remitance ever again. They can make people’s life more miserable and could make a big impact to us. This remitance has no consideration !!!! and no respect to the customers especially the Loyal ones like me. I will never ever consider this if I were you Please dont be a victim of this shaddy company.!!!! Who knows what they do with those bank statements they ask from their customers!!!!

1st Experiences were satisfying. I haven’t used apps ever to send a lot of money before as I am skeptical and have a habit of not trusting things so easily but my friend recommended this to me and here as some of my good experiences. (Note: Again these are my experiences and may differ from others experiences) 1. App was simple to use. 2. Customer service was really good and answered all of my questions and cleared all of my doubts. 3. Took less than 45mins for the transfer which was still respectable in my eyes. 4. The security and verification i felt were important and necessary to protect my identity and prevent any fraudulent transactions from happening, so people have made a big issue out of it in the review section, i don’t exactly know what happened with them but these 1* reviews actually were hampering my judgement of trusting this app but the security and verification i felt was purely justified. There still might be a time where I might not be happy or satisfied with the app but thats not today and I hope this app provides users the same security while sending money to others whether small or big and keeping it simple as well. what costumer service?. so reached my limit, tried applying for tier 3, sent documents, apparently it’s not complete, a representative calls me at 3am, yes 3am! (being nightshift and since i was at work i let that go) she was ask supporting documents. i told them it was 3am and i was at work. she them sends a link where i can download the documents. which of course i can only send 1 page. of course she calls again at 9am waking me up midsleep, despite my groggy sounding voice, instead of apologizing and calling later she says “you only sent 1 page of a 14 page bank statement, we need all of it.” and yet again, she sends same link! i sent a message stating the problem, she never got back to me and rejected my application on the grounds that i did not submit my documents. tried chatting with a representative asking how long will it take before i can send money again, “let me check that for you.” and left me hanging. Remitly is a good way to send money, but their costumer service is the worst.

Don’t use. Over time they will hold your money for weeks at a time.. Sent money many times using this app. The fist few times it goes off with no problems. But after using the app for more than a few month, doing multiple transactions with them. They kept taking longer every time to release the funds. First few times the recipients will receive the money on time with no problem. But after the 5th to 6th transactions, they start with with holding your funds. First it starts with days at a time. Now it’s been weeks. I’ve contacted my bank and recipients bank and they don’t recognize working with Remitly. they will straight up tell you that they don’t see any transactions from Remitly. but when you contact Remitly they were straight up tell you that they sent the money to the bank. So who’s the liar? Don’t waste your time with this app.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Please, please, PLEASE. Do not use remitly. I had use the app some time ago and had activated my account. Everything was fine and I was able to do transactions without a problem. I tried to do a transaction like a week ago and was told my account was locked and had to contact customer service which I did but they could not do anything for me. They suspended my account without a reason and when asked about it, the person on the phone kept on telling me she could not do anything about it and my account would be permanently suspended. When asked why, she could not tell me anything because “of your protection.” ??? What does that even mean? How can you not tell me the reason for suspending my account and on top of that tell me its because of MY PROTECTION. This was a very unprofessional way of handling the situation on their part. The customer service agent kept on telling me that if I wanted to get an answer as to why my account was suspended, I needed to read the user agreement which did not answer any of my questions. WHAT A HORRIBLE APP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been reading some of the reviews, and this is a reoccurring issue that needs to be addressed! PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS APP.

WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER. This app lures you in with a smaller fee and better exchange rate, BUT when an issue occurs they show their true colors. They won’t help in anyway! Won’t even contact you to inform you your money was not paid out. Horrible experience. I saw an ad for Remitly and decided to give it a shot to send money to Brazil. I used the same banking info for the recipient (I send money monthly) that I used in the past with Xoom, Western Union, and Ria but Remitly kept saying it was incorrect and kept blaming me for this issue. They couldn’t tell me exactly what was wrong. They kept emailing the recipient bank and never got a response and that’s all they would do. Remitly kept resending my transfer the same way expecting different results but the transfer would still get return. They said they would call me but never did, I asked for a manager to call me and they would never call when promised. After 2 weeks of waiting I gave up and asked for my money back. Not only I wasted my time but also lost money since when I finally made the transfer (using a different app) the exchange rate was way lower than 2 weeks earlier. Horrible service. I’ll stick to the other apps I mentioned earlier. Lost a customer for ever

They seriously have the worst customer service.. My Mom money has been on hold for 5 days supposedly by the bank. My mom supposed to receive this money by March 12 and today is March 17. This is the second time I call them for the same reason. Every Time I call they put me on hold for very long time. now am in the phone with them for 55 minutes trying to fix this issue and nothing get done. They get back to me with a simple excuse telling me that they will email the bank to see what’s going on and the bank never get back to them. Supper disorganized, Waste of time and this is only my third time sending money with them. I type this review because they need to fix this matter and I don’t want anyone else going throw the same disappointment am going throw now. This is what they offer me after I finish the call with them, “$15 off in my next transaction.”

Bad customer service. They called and asked me for more information to verify my account and promised to give me a call back if they need more info. And then suspended my account without giving me the call as they promised. Very unprofessional. I called the main line and there is nothing they can do to reactive my suspended account even tho I am willing to provide them more information but it’s always “we can’t do anything”. They do not really know what’s the exact issue but its because of suspicious activity. Can they be more professional? If it is because of suspicious activity, they should have call me as what they promised and tell me about it, so I can answer to all of the questions they have. But they did not call me and just decided to suspend the account and cancel the transaction. What if my transaction is critical and someone’s life is on the line because of it? What if my transaction is for something in the hospital and they really do need that amount? Remitly just decided to suspend and cancel the transaction without getting anything? What is the point of having customer service when they can’t help you with anything? Instead of helping or fixing the issue, they just told me that I cannot use remitly anymore. And that, my friend, that’s how you lose clients. This is my first time using this app too. This is such a let down. Going to delete this app and tell me friends to do so as well. Unbelievable customer service.

Loooong processs. Transfer is on hold, and asks for additional documents. I sent it. Says they take 1 hour to review it. It actually takes the whole day to do it. After waiting for 12 hours, says they need more documents. They asked for 2 documents, i uploaded the first one, and didn’t even have the chance to upload the second document. Now i have to wait for another 12 hours before they can check it. I’m infuriated! Customer service says 24/7, but when i called, said they are close. Chat support is useless! They called me, and told me that they would transfer me to another department, i waited 1 hour ( i am not exaggerating, i waited for literally 1 hour). When i got to the other department, they disconnected my call at exactly 1am. Very unprofessional! You do not even deserve 1 star! You deserve ZERO!

Service to disable account. So i havent used this app in a long time but service was very quick in terms of sending money and aid to problems towards the accoung, i was flagged this account as someone was tryin to access it and considering i havent used it in ages, i ask to delete all accounts of remitly, it was faster than any customer service ive ever been with, top notch 10/10 customer service

False Promise. I have made a transfer using remitly. It’s written in Remitly that transfer can be cancelled before money has been deposited or collected. But i made a transfer and after one hour I requested to cancel the transfer and they replied they can not cancel the transfer and never provided customer support. So don’t trust Remitly.

Rubish. There service is rubbish i make a transection which is express but its not done even in 48 hours and during this time i cone ted there service 4 time via chat and call also every time thay just make a fake statement saying they contected the receiver bank and your transection will be processed with in 5-8 hour . Literally every time they said this but the issue wasn’t resolved . I highly don't recommend there service

Issue for price and services. I have talked with there customer service about the price issue. It’s showing very low on my application. I have sent many times through their software. There two methods to send according to their speed and time. There customer service, they were talking all nonsense. They don’t have any solution. I am very disappointed with customer services. I won’t send money and won’t recommend their site for transfer to anyone. If the customer service is like this, then how can we send money with this unreliable site.

Super Reliable and Super Efficient. My experience so far is that Remitly is absolutely reliable and very efficient especially at this unprecedented time in the history of human existence. Always ask verification. I have been a Remitly customer for the last couple of years and even sending fornigthly to my family in the Philippines. But recently the service seems bit downgraded as every now and then they ask for a verification. Very distressing and disappointed that I have to cancel my transaction because it place me on hold. Lock account without supporting. My account is suddenly locked. I only received email said that the account violated the User Agreement but it didn’t mentioned that what it violated. I message to ask for help but the only response that the final decision is made and I can’t use my account and even my card on Remitly, although I’ve been using Remitly for long time to transfer money to my family oversea. Even I asked for helping, I can provide any information to get my accoubt back but the answer said no without specific reason. So disappointed and regret when I am loyal to use this platform for money transfer

Reversal of deposit. My local bank reversed the deposit made through Remitly and advised to contact Remitly to verify what the issue was. Remitly said they didn’t know what the problem was and that my bank should know what the problem is. They were very unhelpful and will not help you if there’s an issue with your deposit. All they say is that the deposit has been confirmed and therefore you should have the money by now.

Never use this app scam. I tried to send the money overseas I pressed send option then they asked for my id which i have submitted then they asked for my bank statement which i have submitted then they asked me few question which i have answered then still my transaction was on hold i contacted them again and again for 2 days heard exactly same thing over and over again our team is working on it and at the end the recieved an email saying Your account has been blocked for no reason You scammers i will take an action against you guys

Super Fast but very Bad Conversion Rates. So to lure me in They offered really good rates in their Ad and was true for my first transaction specially when I compared it to other apps in the market but after first transaction I realised that conversion rate was offered (one time)just to lure me in and now whenever I compare the rates btw AUD and PKR they are keeping upto 1% more vs their competitors offering similar service which is really bad. If you transfer $20,000/ year this comes down to $200 more paid in fees (due to bad conversion rate offered) when compared to their competitors. Yes they are super fast though where other will take anywhere from 2-4 business hours to 2 days they will transfer in under 1 hour straight to bank.

Worst People in customer service. If you want to get your money delayed and wasted you should use remitly. They will be very good with you when everything is good but when it comes to things where its bit hard like funds gets delayed they will turn their back on you. Their customer service people is really unprofessional and rude. Their slogan is “Promises Delivered” however I would say its totally opposite i.e Promises Broken always. They are greedy people for their fee and business and doesn’t care about you. I will highly suggest not to use remitly and look for substitutes. Highly DONT RECOMMENDED. STAY AWAY STAY SAFE

Customer service representatives. Today is my first time to use Remitly and I honestly had some doubts if this will gonna work smoothly. But I did try anyway. Then the very moment I clicked send, the app showed the transfer details with my fund being on hold. (I was like What?!?!?!) The app says they were not able to verify some information about me that’s why. I tried and tried and tried to call customer reps but failed. Was then starting to get frustrated. Okay, I will give it another call. Booom! Someone answered. His name was Victor (don’t know if correct sorry). At the end of the call I was extremely amazed about his level of support and genuine willingness to help. He guided me all the way to resolve the issue. He even told me not to drop the call to ensure that my problem will be fixed before my call is finished. He referred to another rep her name is Crissy and was also extremely friendly and helpful. Wow! Remitly has wonderful crew 😊 Despite the problem at first, I am very satisfied and happy. Thank you Remitly!

Fraud. #FraudAlert Don’t use this app, first they will show you higher rate than other’s and you will send money definitely after seeing that rate and when you send they will cancel your transaction and you will call on helpline and they will say we want verification of you and next they will ask for your video clip your license your medicare card your passport your bank account statement of 6 months your house bill your birth certificate and at the end they will ask your payslips your relation proof with receiver and if you miss anything of them they will block you, you can’t get your money back. It’s happened to me. #FraudAlert

Review about transfer. They dont care to informe their cistomers if they have any issues with transfer, and when choosen the express transfer where they give less rate and once the money is transfered get the notification stating due to partner babks system is down its gonna take one day, as its urgent thats why i choose to send throught express, atleast Remitly should have courtesy to informe their customers in advance before the transaction about it, not after the transaction is done, very bad service

Express transfer,. I tried this app for the first time, Rates are good but i don’t understand why they are charging $ for express money if the funds will take 2 days to be transfered and available. Here i’m totally lost in sense of understanding the meaning of express transfer. Worst customer service i ever had. My first transaction was unsuccessful so I decided to cancelled it. I though the refund will take 1 days as they said but after 5 days my refund still has come. So i tried to contact the customer service and they said wait 24-48 hours or they will send an email to my bank to release my fund. After a day i checked my account and money still has arrived. I called the bank and they say there is no email from Remitly. I contacted remitly again and the answer is wait 24 to 48 hours, after 3 times of chatting, Remitly still lying to me that they sent the email but the bank said no email from Remitly. They just keep pushing me around. If you can’t do the service properly, you shouldn’t do the business. I think this company is untrusted.

Fraud remit - I would give no star.... This is what they are... once you transfer the money, they don’t take any responsibility and no ETA for Funds... they say it’s one day, but it’s unlike that.. I have transferred money and it’s been 7 days... they won’t even refund the money back.....will make you a puppet wasting your time and money calling customer service... they don’t even have a office in Australia... the office in Sydney is just for name sake, that’s what their customer service person said... and customer service people in Philippines is useless... use any other service, but not this fraud service... i have transferred funds via WesternUnion and Remitly, got the credited in my account same day...

If you’re a first timer, read my sad story 😢. After reading all the reviews, I decided to try a new money transfer app. I was Excited about the higher exchange rate and no fees for the first transaction. So I fill in all the necessary details. I was even shaky and closed my eyes as I’m about to press the send button. And then I pressed it, but then an option about keeping the promotion / investigation appeared. I dunno what it really means and I pressed the wrong button and then I lost it just like that. I tried to redo it but it always go to the normal rate and fees. Just sad ☹️ ☹️☹️, didn’t even get a second chance. So lesson learned for you newbies. 👌🏼

👎👎. For peace of mind I’ll recommend WU services as they don’t require as many details as Remitly and secondly WU is much safe and quick. It’s been more than 6 hours the amount has been detected from my bank account but my transfer is still on hold for verification purpose. Talked to 3 representatives and they all selling the same stuff, YOUR RECEIVER IDENTITY IS BEING VERIFIED and IT BE PROCESSED IN ONE HOUR and almost seven hours past since then. And in between em receiving msges “ATTENTION REQUIRED”. The last representative I messaged to was unable to call me and passed me a number which was not responding due to technical problems. It’s just so stressful

Hidden cost. I was first transferre money back home last week. It showed me the locked in rate, it was about 500vnd higher than other place, was so happy. As I was in hurry did not really do the calculation to see if it is correct, but then when I do the cal today, i realised that there was hidden cost that charged by remitly without showing properly, instead they show that promo rate (up to 500), so basically the lockedin rate they show was not real, kinda lie. Never wanna use it again. 2 stars is for the fast transfer, while it is fast but it is not transparent for the cost they charged

DON’T USE THIS!. Good only on the start, pandemic happened Now they are also a virus. Tried to send money 5:30pm paid for EXPRESS, estimated 5:51pm to get the money Delayed, now i ask for support had to wait like 40 mins just to get a chance to chat with em, Told em Paid express it’s delayed need the money ASAP, if you can provide EXPRESS give me a refund. Now this lady tells me if i want a refund it will take 5 - 10 business days (TRANSACTION IN PROGRESS) pretty much they haven’t even send the money yet lol 5hrs later they, transaction keeps crashing, then tells me my info need more details when it’s perfectly detailed enough, puts my money on HOLD. Again i tried to contact support, but this time good old JHON cancelled my transaction and now i have to wait 5-10 days to get my money back for nothing just a waste of time WISH I CAN PUT 0 STAR REMITLY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU Man the reason why you people invented this type of app is to help people send money faster to their love ones on the other side of the world lol SCAM

Remitly fraud. I have a canceled my transaction but not getting my refund. What the hell remitly? I could not reach your customer service and only chat box available-chat agent said I will get my refund in 24hours. I called my bank and they said they did not received anything. I requested for a call back, Indian rep called me saying he promise and guarantee I will get my refund in 24hours. I waited AGAIN but did not get any. I called my bank again, they said they did not received email or fax from remitly. I am now in the 6th person explaining what happened. When does my issue get resolved REMITLY? This is misleading and fraud.

Remitly is convenient, and effortless. I used to use Western Union to send money to my partner in the Philippines. I find using Remitly is a far superior and cost effective way to send money transfers. I have never had a problem with any transaction I’ve made, and I highly recommend them. I’m very confident with their security arrangements too. My partner is able to access the money I send via an ATM at the other end almost instantaneously.

White screen?. I’ve been using this app for quite a while and it’s been good always, but just now I opened the app but the screen is stuck in the white screen without proceeding further. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-downloading it again but still the same. Please get the issue resolved.

I am very very happy with Remitly for the service they Continue to give me since i first started just a few days ago,unlike some they Charge you even if the money doesn’t go through and gets sent back into your account you get charged for doing absolutely nothing and I will never ever use them again 👍Good on you Remitly and I hope to Continue to send money overseas more often thanks again 💯 % SATISFIED.

Worst app ever. I’ve tried this app twice, and is not easy at all to send money. They don’t reply the emails back, and after few days ask me for a lot of documents and then reply few more days after to ask for more. I’ve been waiting 7 days for the transfer to be made. And now I have to wait up to 10 days for the refund. At the end I’m going to spend more than 15 days and nothing was solved. I have to find again another app that actually works.

Use WorldRemit instead. Remitly is the absolute worst app to use for international transfers, they promise quick and easy transfers in just a couple of hours, but it takes between 24 - 72 hours and that’s only after the first 2 hours go by when they finally ask for your ID, bank statements and payslips, They ask for these same documentation for every single transfer. The worst part of Remitly is by your 2nd transfer they call you and ask every single detail about your relationship to the person your trying to send money to and I mean every single detail they dont seem to have a filter when it comes to asking those very personal details. My biggest advice is Dont use Remitly at all its not worth the trouble, Just use WorldRemit instead.

Small snag. I would have liked to change the credit card I used to pay for the service, however the system would not allow me to do so. For this reason I had to use the card I used in a previous transaction. Apart from this small snag everything else was very smooth. Thanks

Worst app ever. I did my first transfer today. I got the less rate than promised while signing up. On top of that I got even reduced rate and a transfer fee which was meant to be free for the first transfer and then didn’t delivered it on instantly which was showing while doing the transaction as soon as I did the transaction and status went to remitly the delivery timing went from 3 mins to 3hours I am not choosing this app in the future and I have 6 friends who were waiting for my experience to signup which will not after this review.

Disgusting customer service. I used Remitly to pay for a holiday deposit, I paid it 2 months ago, the initial transfer went through successfully account to their app. Yet the hotel claim they still haven’t received any money. After calling them at-least 6 times and expressing my distress and frustration, I am still yet to resolve the matter. Each time I get through to a different call centre operator, seemingly either Indian or Filipino, who each assure me they’re going to escalate the matter and get back to me with 48hrs. This never happens and then when I call back I seemingly have to start again with yet another call handler. Absolutely maddening and seriously piss-weak customer service. I will never use them again.

Extremely easy to use, great rates. I used another service Instarem before and they had disabled my account due to my ID document expiring, due to weekend they could not reinstate my account. There was an urgent need to send money overseas. Found this app randomly and was sceptical. The scepticism crept in because of how easy everything appeared. I can thought, surely it can’t be that easy. What’s the catch? Happy to say it is that easy and there isn’t any catch. The app is super easy to use, setup was straightforward and most importantly the speed of transfer to my friend receiving funds was the fastest I’ve seen. Highly recommend this.

Poor service. I had a very poor experience of sending money throughly Remitly. My transaction was put on hold despite providing all the necessary documents. Worst part is I had to spend 3 hours constantly following up with support team to verify my credentials. Every time I was told we are very sorry for inconvenience but no processing. I had to literally talk them through how they can verify the recepient details which I have provided. If you want a quick transaction and in hurry due to any reason , it can be emergency , I don’t recommend it to any to use this service.

First Class!. I have very close friends who live in the Philippines and over the years I’ve used most money transfer companies and none, not one of them, have been anywhere near as good as Remitly. Not once in all the years and countless transactions have I had any issues with Remitly. They provide first class service with no hassles no problems. Worst money transfer app ever. Tried to transfer money, every time my transaction was canceled and the app says you won’t be charged anything, but the money was deducted from my credit card, every single time. When I contacted customer service, they said your money will be returned in 24-48 hours, and it did come back. But what is this? Are you playing with my time or what? Why would you hold my money for 2 days? And if someone is waiting overseas for money, they gonna wait until you release my funds then I will do the process again, and who knows after that. And what about the bank charges I paid everytime. In short its useless app.

No hassle app. I recently got to know about this app and used it twice. I like the option of instant and delayed transfer control given to user, it’s well thought, very easy to use and re use previous transfer. I would request a feature where based on users choice of currency transfer the app should alert when the conversation rate is better in a weekly.

Bad service. I have been used this for about 2 years. I was like it, even the Rate always lower than the company i usually went to cause it's convenient and i can do it by my phone, good for someone don't have mch free time like me. Untill i preferred my friend to use it, cause it was his first time, so i did it for him, i sent him the link then i clicked and it opened to the web, the web asked me to dowload the app from app store. I did everything and sent money for his first time and we didn't get any rewardsv. So i contacted to the app, someone answered me, i told her what happened, she still insisted that i didn't use the link. Then i just to busy to keep chatting to someone didn't believe in what i said and didn't give me any proper answer. Then she called me twice, omg... The phone only ring for 1 sec and off, i didn't even have enough time to pick up the phone. I deleted this app and never recommend for anyone again. I wrote it down to hope, someone wrote this app please check about that preferred link and don't lose any other customer because of that.

Excellent customer service and trustworthy company. I have read some review about the delay about refund process. I have experienced the situation that my fund is in pending after I cancelled my transaction. The team are very patient and thoughtful. They always offer me a call back after I talk to them on the app and follow up the process. I am very satisfy with the service they provided and I will keep using the app because of the excellent experience and of course the competitive exchange rate.

Poor Customer Service. I’m using first time this app and I’m very disappointed from poor customer service. I have used this app to send $200 dollars and $400 to my home country which was very urgent because my mother was in hospital and doctors need money for the operation but my money has been put on hold due to some reasons. I have tried so many times to call customer service but no one responded my call and no response to my emails. I’m really frustrated from this app. Please don’t use this app, my experience with this app was so bad they don’t care about their service.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. I tried to send money overseas after completion of id check and verification, but my transfer was blocked and these REMITLY scammers asked for proof of funds and i.e, bank statement. After submission i was asked to wait and then they said my account was suspended and money will be refunded in 24-48hours but never received. I tried to contact them but they will never pick up your call, only you can chat. I asked about my refund and a case number, all I was told is wait wait wait.... Same thing happened to many people if you go through reviews left below. These scammers collecting personal data and you will never know what they are doing with it.

Worst app. Tried to send money to my family and they said its under review . I was on the call for an hour with them. They asked so many personal and irrelevant questions that they should not “why are you doing this transfer” they asked me for my bank statement . Thats ridiculous. Why would i give my bank statement to you and why do i need to tell you that why am i sending money to my family .

Worst Service & Unreliable. I used an express service for my transaction, the funds got deducted from my account & it’s been 5 days, yet the recipient hasn’t received the funds in their account. After repeatedly raising the issue with customer service, all I get to hear is we are looking into this. They don’t provide a service ticket & it’s like I have to explain my issue every time to the new support member I am connected to. It is really frustrating & annoying. Highly Disappointed! I would recommend using Western Union which is much quicker & reliable.

Worst customer service. I initiated a transfer on the 5th and it is the 9th today. Transaction is still processing so I reached out to the customer support chat and I waited for almost 40 minutes and there was no response. In the middle of the chat, you’ll get automated messages that won’t make any sense. I don’t think I’ll be using Remitly after this. Wish I could give less than one star.

Unknown Reason of Suspending an Account. First time I used remitly is when I saw it on ad. Tried it and got verification check and call then done. Had not use it again for quite some time. Now that I was gonna use it, my account just happen to be locked! Had to call the customer service, waited some time then when He got back to me, he told me my account is suspended due to violation. That I didn’t even know. And due to their “rules” or “policy” they can’t say why which I find unfair. why? Because that just made someone feel like they’ve done a crime without their conscience. People needs some further explanation. I think this is the thing they have to work out. I had high hopes and they turned me down

Would Rate 0 if I Can. The customer service representative saulo/saolu is very arrogant and not helpful, not willing to tell me the reason why my transfer was declined and said that “Remitly MERELY relys on family and friends recommendations” after I said I wasn’t satisfied with the service and would not recommend my family and friends to use it. Even more, right after saying that, he/she directly ended our live chat without waiting for my response. And as a result, unfortunately I couldn’t download the chat history, otherwise I would be more than happy to remember the name of this customer service representative clearly and show you how rude I was treated. I am keep my words by sharing my experience with Remitly especially the customer service experience on google review, app review, trust pilots review and with my friends and family. If Remitly only values business customers who transfer a large amount of money in one transaction, why bother to ask us to refer our friend and family by advertising the bonus??? To me, $20 referral bonus wouldn’t be attractive enough to ignore the disgusting experience with your customer service representative Saulo or Saolu. If you are thinking about engaging the service of Remitly, THINK TWICE, unless you are fine with not being respected by them.

Rude callers. Your call centre staff Raine is plain rude, arrogant, mannerless, doesn’t tell their name, defiant and think remitly is never at fault. Unbelievably she also hung up as soon as I gave the feedback back to her. Your website says upload pay stub but then they call to tell you catch that to have a daily limit of 10k you need to have a salary of 6k per paystub wow ! Rudely dictating to send bank statement and threatening to delete the bank account. Dfuk publish all these catches. Publish clearly you need both not just say upload one of these and then we will waste your time later. Don’t waste people time now send the picture of your left thumb ...oh sorry it’s not looking great. Send the copy of your paysub with 2599.34 as your salary not more not less. Plain rubbish and unprofessional

Not exactly safe. If you choose to send money abroad and accidentally get the receivers banking info wrong, there is no turning back. The money is lost and there is no getting it back. Which is not exactly the safest way to be handling money.

I did 3 transactions in past .now after 3-4 months , I am trying to make a transaction and I am unable to open the app now with this version . I haven’t used remitly since couple months . Worst app. I got scam for one thousand dollar they sent my money to someone else who i dont know and i am preety sure that this transaction i done someone from remitly . How’s that possible?

The best app you can use. Its so simple, so easy and i honestly do not worry about sending money to my parents anymore. I feel so happy that within minutes the transfers take place and all i pay is 2$ for transferring. Great job guys, please keep up the good work!!

Frustrating rules. I am using Remitly to send money to India from Canada since February 2018. Tried to increase my limit (Tier 2) but they rejected with some unknown reason. Now I am not able to send money even with Tier 1 also. It’s throwing an error saying my 6 months limit was over and I can only send $18. Thank you for your support all these days, I just skipped to RemitR and I am happy with it.

Pathetic service. I transfers from to India with remitly’s promise to make funds available within 15 minutes as I paid extra fee and credit card payment. However, after 24 hours their rep says it’s not our fault that bank is not crediting beneficiary’s account in Indian bank. Are you guys serious ? Shame on you. I recommend use Xoom instead at least they have credibility.

Sneaky and bad service. I downloaded Remitly at the begining rates were competitive, and the more i used it exchange rate kept going down despite google rates rates that are way worse then other similar companies which are way better at exchange rates so far ( not naming them) . Which means once they win your trust they steal.

Great app to send money at a lower rate. I don’t know why I haven’t been using this app before. I was sending money to a members of my family in Guatemala with western and it was a bit expensive the fees they charge. With Remitly I can deposit the money directly to the recipient a account. That’s amazing. I recommend it. And it’s easy to use!

Disgusting experience. Remitly’s main motive is “Send money to your loved ones when they need it the most” and this is only thing they are supposed to do but fail to do so. It worked very well initially but now it it’s cancelling my every transaction. When i try to add new payment method or update it , keeps on saying that they are unable to authorize cards. Every time i call them, they ask me to talk to my bank or wait 24 hrs and they will fix the issue. I called my bank so many times and everytime bank says there is no problem with my cards and there’s no holding of transactions from my bank side. It’s been months i am asking remitly to fix these issues but nothing. Extremely bad service, there’s no point of being in the market Remitly when you can’t do what you promise to do. 👎👎👎👎

Very Transparent App. This app gives me the confidence when sending money because all the relevant information is available on the app screen while you use it and you don’t have to look around for anything. Also the transfers have so far been delivered as promised.

Please dont use this app. I used Express way to send the money to my family. As per their(Remitly) commitment if you use express way to send the money the funds will be available within 10-20 mins. But what really they do is they charged money from customer and don’t send it to their families and after you contact the customer service they would say we can’t do anything you need to wait for 24 hours for the information that why money isn’t available till yet . This happened to me. I want to alert all users. Please use some other method to send money so that they couldn’t cheat on you

Waste of time and money!. About 6-7 months ago Remitly was the best service but in recent times its been the worst! They always put you in review and then you have to keep calling them back with no luck. Recently I was asked to provide the recipient’s ID card but then rejected the ID because it was not in English...how do you expect other country’s ID cards to in English if English isn’t used there?? Either hire people who can verify foreign language documents or don’t ask for those documents. We can’t have the government make Remitly specific ID cards. Had to ask them to return the payment so I can send some other way. Another payment of mine took 2 weeks to get cleared. Basically they always find a way to delay your payment. Some of my friends have had similar experiences but I gave it another chance because some months ago it was really the best service out there!

Do Not Use! Waste Of Time! Use Xoom!!!!!!. I would give this 0 stars!!!!!!! I was recommended this app by my mom. She watched the advertisement in the morning. I saw the exchange rates which were great; I filled out all the information processed my transfer. 2 days later I get an email to verify information. I call during my lunch, they bombard me with person question....why are you sending money? Who is the person your sending? Why sooo much money? Also I needed to submit a copy of my bank statement to prove my account was joint since I did say it was a joint account. It took a me a couple days to get the statement. I finally submitted it online and was told in an hour I would see a response. At the end of my work day no update was given. I called customer care and was bombarded by more questions. She dared to ask me if I was put up to send money. She kept asking me to state my name and if i was lying. Do I have to explain why I can speak English? Then I get an email that my transaction was canceled. I was soooo upset, this was a family emergency! I was patient to let’s all these days pass to get canceled for suspicious activity. I called to find out why and they read me the agreement and I hung up. I went to Xoom and my money was sent in less than 24 hours with no questions asked. What a waste of time. Do not use this App!

Racist. Please if you are a black person don’t use this app. They’re targeting black person on this app, whenever they asked to identify your identity when they noticed you’re a black person they will asked you a lot of weird questions. I just talked to one of their workers he made me feel very uncomfortable and he locked my account because I told him I was sending the money to a friend. Please take your business elsewhere if you’re a black person. I’m very disgusted with this app I can’t believe those people are racist too based on their background oh well it is what it is. I love Remilty. After sending money for years via Western Union or Money Graham I was utterly frustrated with the fact that there are apps kept stopped working after a while and I’d have to delete and re-download them. And then one day Western Union in for me that I have been flagged they canceled my money transfer my fiancé needed the money to pay some bills and She had her cable shut off because of Western Union canceling my transfer and flagging me. I repeatedly contacted Western Union asking for an explanation on why they did that and all they could say is that I may have violated some law in some country they do business in and therefore I said bye-bye Western Union and Money Graham and now I switch to Remilty and I couldn’t be happier!!!

Easy to use and quick service!. Just used Remitly for the first time the other day to send money to VietNam. Using the app the process was straightforward and simple. I was pleasantly surprised when the original estimated delivery time was a few days out, but just a few hours later I received a notification that the money had already been delivered to the recipient. It was such an unexpected surprise and I was really happy it worked out that way. I also noticed that as an first time user, I was not charged any fees so that was also nice. I will definitely use Remitly again in the future and highly recommend.

Never open account. Im trying to help creat my grandma an account due to she got kids in the Philippines that she supported, she lives in a nursing home and she got no transportation, to go to a remittances center now due the question that I answered honestly they deactivated the account,they ask me who created the account I answered honestly that i did due to how can an 83 years old created an account by herself I assisted my grandma and it is under her email I provide her name , her phone number and her nursing home address, but because of understanding that the agent mistakenly understands that i do have all access to the account they still did deactivate the account , basically just waste my grandma’s min’s on her phone , her time and also she expects that she could have easy access from month2 without going anywhere., never recommend feel bad for my grandma but there is nothing that i can do.

AMAZING. I’ve never had a problem with this app , by far the most amazing way to send money within 3 minutes my family members in Mexico get the money and right away are able to take the money out not like the old fashion way . Been using this app for a while and I must say I am very amazed and very thankful for this app , if I could rate this app 1 thousand stars I would with no hesitation, get this app . We tried both methods this app and the old fashion way and my auntie got the Remitly money faster than the old fashion way . Horrible. If I can give it 0 stars I will. I rarely give reviews bad or good but I had to with this app. Wanted to send money to Family in Dominican Republic. I tried the transfer said I need to verified I was like ok fine it’s a nice and secure app I send my License like they ask did a facial recognition thing and answer manny questions oh why and how much money would I be sending and to who. They denied it 3 times after that but took the money out of my bank account. Then they blocked my account and told me my account was looking fraudulent but we’re ok to take the money makes no sence. I sent everything the needed and I was still too them a con artist. If it was a real con they probably would of let the transfer happen. Smh very disappointed I was excited about this easy way to transfer money.

BAD SERVICE. Hear me out, I normally do not write reviews but this app deserves it. I have been with them for a year or two. I am currently building a house and using my “accounting” money to do so. With that said, remitly would make it a huge issue if it was anything over 1000. Granted it was like every other month but nevertheless, I would still provide all the required information. In the end they just suspended my account! I have tried to call and everyone and they have yet to get back to me! They said it was fraud but I have proof I earned my money fair and square. I also have proof of buying material doe my house in Mexico. But they won’t take it

First, I used to send money to my wife in Ukraine via Western Union, which in just a few months gave trouble just after few months ( less than 6 months or so in 2019) Then I switched to “Wise”, and I wonder why they call themselves “WISE “.. 4 months journey and end of it Somehow, I came across Remitly, and being , again, skeptical, gave them a try, around 2 years ago. Nonetheless, once War broke out on Feb 24th 2022 and me just having left Kiev on Feb 22nd kissing my wife “ poka/ Dasvadenya “, and my overtime etc here at US being limited due to personal choice due to my stress, REMITLY HAS NOT ONLY FAILED ME ago send money to my wife not only in Ukraine , but Europe . THAT TOO, with $ 0 fees. I SALUTE REMITLY, from the bottom of my heart. Am still crossing my fingers but glad my wife is safe in Europe with her family, though I miss our beloved cats , we both adopted from the harsh wild at Irpen, an O’ blast in Ukraine that either lost their lives ( or hopefully and a better situation).. Documents take forever. I was a very happy user until they started the double security step. I needed to send money right away, the app doesn’t tell you anything about uploading additional documents such as driver license and proof or residence before you send money. Once you ‘sent the money’ I got a message saying my founds were on hold until I uploaded additional information. I’ve been sending money before and now that I needed it urgently they just suddenly asked for that. Ok, so I sent the documents on a Friday at 1 pm, I got an email saying my money was going to be processed until Monday morning since they have to review my documents. What??? You should’ve let the costumers know the extra security steps before sending money. I canceled my transfer and I won’t ever use this service. You guys don’t understand we need to send money as soon as possible and you can’t just simply hold your money without prior notice. Terrible!

They beat around the bush and robbed me a $35 fee. I’ve had a horrible experience with Remitly. I tried to upgrade to tier 3 to transfer a larger amount of money and I provided lots of private info they asked for. They then lingered so long (multiple weeks) and I had to make multiple inquiries. And a long phone call resulted in nothing. “Let me check with my supervisor about that”, hold for 10 minutes, another stupid question. “Let me check with my supervisor about that.” So two days later they said sorry you’ve been denied. so I went with a different service. Then four days later they decided to accept me but my bank account was then low from using the other service. So I got a $35 charge from my bank. I then have emailed Remitly 3 times about this and even found multiple emails of theirs. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Where is the money?. I made 3 transactions on May 8, for 3 diferent people, in 3 different bank and no one receive the money !!! It’s being 8 busines day that I reach then. The people that I send the money don’t receive anything yet, and Remitly people don’t have a answer. First time they ask for 2-3 business day to reach the bank, and see what it’s going on. No one calls me or send a email. So before 3 business day I talk to then AGAIN and they ask for MORE 5 business day To reach the Bank... 🤷🏼‍♀️ And now May 20, I was talk to Rafiq S, that simply finish the chat! And don’t give me a answer! I try again, and Frank B says that my transaction it’s complete. And he can’t not made a refund. And ask me for MORE 2 days to reach the bank!🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I need a intervention! Because this is totally wrong! I will never use these app again! I already send the bank statement, for the people I made the transactions, and this is so uncomfortable! I know that it’s not to much money, but it’s all I have and everything my family’s need! My grandma broke her leg on May 07, and need to made a surgery.... because the money it’s not where it suppost to be, my grandma it’s in home, with a lot of pain! I’m so frustrated!

Do not use scam. I decided to give a second chance after the first transaction was not deliver at home and instead my elderly father had to go make a huge line in order to receive the money. Now I decided to give them a second chance and once again they failed. They were supposed to deliver the money on Saturday and then updated to Monday. Three day later I call in and they tell me they will email the bank and get back to me. The customer service is the worst. I had to call in again since the money was not deliver. After paying for home delivery they tell me that the money is ready to be picked up and again I choose home delivery. I now have to wait 10 days for them to refund me my money. While my uncle is waiting for this money to pay his medical bills very unacceptable and I will never used this app again. Please stay away and save your time.

Not just an Amazing product but the best in terms of servicing. Remitly is a life saver and have helped me at the most crucial situation. We lived abroad and the user money transfer company made a mess out of our transfers and blocked them even though we submitted all documents. Being with our family that includes a toddler, I was running out of money in local currency. I signed up for Remitly and called their customer service and explained the situation. We were purchasing a house so we need large transfers to take place and I submitted all documents. They work like a charm. Undoubtedly I’ll be the most loyal customer to them.

Not so great for this first time user. Sent my first remitly international “express” transfer yesterday, June 1st 2022. It took 10hrs to get to my receiver. NOT GOOD. Then when I tried to live chat remitly at 10pm then again at 1am to inquire about the problem, I never got anyone. It was like they had office hours and were closed from 8pm till 6am. My transfer finally went through at 635am the next day, 2 June 2022. I WILL BE GOING BACK TO USING WORLD REMIT which always got me transfers to this same person within minutes albeit with only a $330 amount allowed per transfer(unlimited transfers per 24 hrs). DO BETTER REMITLY.. you had me as a customer for 10.5 hrs then lost me, NOT GOOD!

BEWARE - They will steal your money.. It does not matter if Remitly delivered the funds 20 times successfully if they failed on the 21st time and despite providing bank statements that prove the recipient never received the money, Remitly takes the word of it’s partner and does not return your hundreds or thousands of dollars. They should be removed from the App Store. Even one violation of their fiduciary responsibility to the sender is one too many. My transfer sent on 08 December 2021 still has not been paid or refunded as of 20 January 2022. And now they are ignoring my messages. I am forwarding communications to regulators, attorneys general, and to media such as Wall Street Journal in hopes of a getting my money back and stopping this egregious behavior. Theft plain and simple. If they only did this in one out of 1000 transfers, they would increase their profits tenfold. DO NOT USE REMITLY!!!

This app is Gold. I found this app just in the Knick of time. I have tried money gram, WesternUnion, and other transfer sites to no avail!!! They all block my transactions, and send no notifications, for “security reasons”. I have dealings in Nigeria, which I admit, has a sketchy reputation, but there ARE normal people there too. I like how this site takes no responsibility if your dumb enough to send all of your money to a prince. That’s how every transfer company should be. Then they would be able to send money in SECONDS... Just like these lovely people who made this genius app. If I hadn’t found this, my day and possibly near future may have been greatly altered!!! LITERALLY... thank you!!!!!!!!! This app is gold

They seriously have the worst customer service.. My Mom money has been on hold for 5 days supposedly by the bank. My mom supposed to receive this money by March 12 and today is March 17. This is the second time I call them for the same reason. Every Time I call they put me on hold for very long time. now am in the phone with them for 55 minutes trying to fix this issue and nothing get done. They get back to me with a simple excuse telling me that they will email the bank to see what’s going on and the bank never get back to them. Supper disorganized, Waste of time and this is only my third time sending money with them. I type this review because they need to fix this matter and I don’t want anyone else going throw the same disappointment am going throw now. This is what they offer me after I finish the call with them, “$15 off in my next transaction.”

Customer service is challenging. I downloaded the app to send money to a dear friend in need in another country. The transfer supposedly went through, but just sat at being reviewed. I called and was transferred to someone who needed to verify my transfer. This woman asked extremely personal questions... how do you know the person you sent money? How long have you known them? Will you be sending more money? Why are you sending the money? How do you know the person again? Why did he live with you and your family???? Where is his family? Tell me about his mother?????? It was ridiculous. I understand the need to confirm the account and that I the account holder did indeed initiate the transaction, but once that is clear, I should never have spent 10 minutes repeatedly explaining myself.

I wish I could put zero stars!! Disappointed!!!!. This company is very disrespectful, first they gave a questionnaire more like an investigation of how I got the money and who am I sending it to and why and how often am I planning to send money to that person. Then they tell me to provide my bank statement to check my identity, then they give a call requesting more information and to prove proof of income because “there are multiple large amounts deposited” that’s the paycheck !!!! Yes we need proof or picture of the check. This is so disrespectful why would need all this for a transfer my personal account is none of your business !!! I do not to provide a proof of paycheck you are just a money service !!! Zero customer service by the way and useless app that is violating its customers privacies!!!

Ridiculous! Bad judgement and rules!. Soooo I’ve been sending money thru #Remitly for couple of years already. Theres something happened that I lost my wallet ( lost my debit cards and credit cards with it. ) Like everybody will do, I called my bank to cancel that said lost debit card. When I opened Remitly to send money, I was told that I cannot use that account because there’s a suspicious something going with my account with them. So that problem is about my lost bank card. I told them what happened and they replied it’s for my protection that I cannot use their service anymore using that said bank of mine unless I use a different bank account 😂😂😂. It’s just ridiculous that does remitly expect people to have multiple accounts with different banks just to cater their business rules? I have multiple accounts but with Bank of America only! Hello!!!

I signed up input everything necessary...a few hours later I get an email that the TRANSACTION was canceled (a little over $200)and to call with questions. I called with questions and was asked 1000 questions until I stopped him and asked WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? I was given several inaccurate answers..."fraud dept closed your account"..."you've been exhibiting fraudulent activity" (on my first transaction)🤔 "the other representative you spoke with believes..." (haven't spoke to anyone) "let me see if we can reinstate the account" "you may have violated our terms of agreement" Ok, before you try to reinstate me, I need to know what im accused of because I will do the same exact thing on my second attempt that I did on my first, so tell me EXACTLY where I went wrong. "Im not allowed to tell you EXACTLY what you did for security purposes"...BOY BYE!

Don’t use. Over time they will hold your money for weeks at a time.. Sent money many times using this app. The fist few times it goes off with no problems. But after using the app for more than a few month, doing multiple transactions with them. They kept taking longer every time to release the funds. First few times the recipients will receive the money on time with no problem. But after the 5th to 6th transactions, they start with with holding your funds. First it starts with days at a time. Now it’s been weeks. I’ve contacted my bank and recipients bank and they don’t recognize working with Remitly. they will straight up tell you that they don’t see any transactions from Remitly. but when you contact Remitly they were straight up tell you that they sent the money to the bank. So who’s the liar? Don’t waste your time with this app.

Nightmare. Is a very bad company to trust I send money on Thursday sept 10 within the hour the money was out of my account and they had said delivery will be on Saturday sept 12 in the morning , I try calling no answer I text late afternoon they said they’re going to send a email and today my transfer is stop and my elderly mother has no food I send money every week to Dominican Republic via xoom or western union never had this problem I ask if I can get my money back and they said up to 10 business day that’s more then two weeks and I have to wait until I get pay next week on Thursday I don’t know what to do and I have no one to ask , no supervisor, no one is responsible but mean while my family is hungry, there is no money because they have me and this company is playing with their money is a nightmare

Double charging !!! Be careful being overdraft!. I initiated a transfer of $300 in 10/09 and they charged me $300 on my bank account, which is fine. On 10/11 the transfer was not successful. The system told me there is something needs my attention in my account. I went to the app and click cancel transaction. Now comes the surprise. When I logged in my bank account, I saw it was charged for $300 again! Yes, a total $600 charge for a failed $300 transfer! I have no idea what the second charge on 10/11 is for? For canceling the transaction?! The double charging almost overdraft my account! I called the customer service to get it back. I was told that I need to upload the bank statement. OK, you know most the banks (including mine) issue the statement at the end of each month, and they were asking something that don’t even exist yet. Asked whether I can provide the screenshot and get rejected. Now they can withhold my fund for another half a month. Very bad experience with Remitly. Unethical double charging just to keep you fund longer for interest. Customer support is not helpful at all. (I was told because they work from home so they don’t have a manager to transfer me to.)

COVID in the Philippines. My Fiancé is a kind hearted province girl who tries to take care of family and loved ones. I’m always surprised at her ability to make lemonade from a pile of terrible lemons. So, with the fear of Marshall Law being declared and no one allowed out for up to five weeks or more, receiving her allowance quickly and easily was of prime importance to me. With the app, I was able to send that money in a matter of minutes. The money was available in that same time frame and ready for pickup before I closed the app. Thanks guys. You all work hard for us as well. Great job and thanks.

Recommended. Security, safety, easy to use and customer satisfaction is what one get’s at Remitly. Although, exchange rate is an issue that needs to be addressed and also time taken by the company in transferring money via the economy mode. One more thing that I want the company officials to deliberate upon is that if Remitly is Islamic shariah compliant or not as there are strict regulations in Islam while dealing with currency exchange and transfers. The main issue that arises is with the economy mode of money transfer as it is delayed by about a week after the deal is done which is strictly prohibited in Islam. It will be a nice gesture from part of the company working on this issue. Rest is 👍

Invasion of Privacy. I tried to send money to my friend through this joke of a company. I went through all the hoops they asked if me. They sent a message that it would be an hour for processing. The next day, I got a message saying the transaction was cancelled due to suspicious circumstances. I was also locked out of my account. When I called them they insisted they know more about the reason I wanted to send the money. Who is my recipient? What is our relationship? What is my purpose for sending the money? I said that I am sending money to a friend. Beyond that they have no right to know anything. It’s an invasion of privacy. After spending an inordinate amount of time on hold and after speaking with a supervisor, who continued to insist on knowing about my and my friend’s private life, he refused to do the one thing that this company does, making it a completely and utterly useless entity with no good reason to exist.

Total fraud app!. Only sent $1600 abroad and got rejected. Called customer service for 1hr30mins, ask for my name, social number, address, my work place, tax ID, bank statements everything, and still lock my account said I don’t have the source of the $1600?!? I freaking own a company in NY! And provided all the information. I asked for the Representive’s first and last name and rep ID, he refused to give and said that’s the personal/private information, yet all my PERSONAL documents sent to them are not personal/private information? They are using customers documents for illegal purposes for sure! And yet the $1600 they rejected they still CHARGED from bank! Disgusting app, disgusting services!

Teaser rate and cumbersome. So Remitly somehow manages to get ranked as having the best exchange rate due to having a low first time user rate. After that the rate is significantly worse than other remittance services...WorldRemit and Xoom are at least $18 better per $1000 sent. The more disturbing issue is that after they withdraw the money from your bank account they “hold it for review” until you verify your identity...that may seem prudent but they fail to properly explain how the verification process works...so it can be that you end up in an endless verification loop with no one telling you how to do it correctly. I finally got through to their chat help and they told me to do something completely different than the app instructions. My money was on “hold” for a whole day. Other services have our issuing bank do the verification...something we can easily and painlessly do.

Took my money and never delivered it.. As the title states, I used these guys to send money to someone in Mexico, they took the money and never delivered it. I was on with the person tht was to receive it and their banker. The money was delivered and somehow Remitly did sort of like a charge back or something and the money was withdrawn from the persons account. Now I’ve been trying to get into contact with them to get a refund. All they say is tht they will forward it to another department and I’ll hear back 24-48hrs it’s been 17days and have yet to hear anything. I asked for a refund the second time and the guy accidentally mentioned that the money was their with them and had r been delivered, again I was going to be forwarded and even just now they told me the same thing. It’s ridiculous, never using them ever again

Customer service are liars. Bad service. Awful.. I had a transaction sent in mistake. Was supposed to be $26 and instead was accidentally sent out at $263. Immediately reached out and was told my transaction would be held & then cancelled. Was told in writing I could expect a refund within 5-10 days. Because the transaction showed as complete, that concerned me. I reached out 2 days later. They said transaction had already gone through and that there was nothing they could do. I said that's not what I was told. 2nd customer agent confirmed with me her colleague did in fact say it would be held and canceled but nothing could be done now. I said so basically, you guys lied to me. She said she would have a manager reach out to me within 2 hours. It's now been 2 days & nothing. Terrible company.

Suspended after 2 years to same recipient. I started using Remitly in 2020 to send money to fiance and family. Last week I try log in and see message to contact about suspicious activity. Call and am told account suspended and appeal via virtual assistant. I do and am told a reply will come in 24 hours. It does not. After 3 days I go through process again. 2 days later no response and call. I am told my appeal was recieved but, they are unable to activate my account. I did not follow user policy. I ask what was the problem and as others experience I am told they cannot tell me. Please review policy. I say I did and nothing there applies to me. Just told sorry sir your account cannot be activated. So permanently closed after sending to same person to same account, and from my same account. I will use another setvice but, that’s a bad business model Remitly

Watch out. Was a remitly customer a long time. Had a good friend in another country known for years. Has been having health issues so was sending money to support her with hospital bills. . I have been with this person. Know the family. Unfortunately remitly decided I was sending too much. So they stopped my sending and wanted my bank statements showing all my account info and transactions. NEVER. I told them it was an invasion of personal info they wanted. I’m 70 years old and they accused me of laundering money. So BEWARE of this company. I deleted my account. I helped her with bank account and I have no problems now transferring money to her bank. Beware. Never send private personal info to a company that wants to have their staff look at it just to inspect your private financial statements

New “fraud detection” engine is outrageous. For sending <$100 USD to a new recipient I got randomly flagged and required to upload a video of myself alongside a photo of my ID for this third party “onfido” to keep for as long as they feel like keeping on their servers. Before this I was prompted to share my precise location with the app, when reaching to customer support they can’t provide a different way to validate my identity even when they are speaking with me on the phone.. you can do better, you used to be better… validate identity using 2FA, SSN number, voice even id digits.. but a video for less than $100? Come on..

Love you all. Worse cannot say how thankful and appreciative I am of you all. Show me the concerns and the cares for my funds. Then I worked very hard for the security that you provide me to make sure that I am not take it for granite or is this a scam. Yes I say words can’t just say how happy I am for the stand that you are go to to make sure that my transactions that I do that I am able to know for sure that my money are going to who I know and where it’s post to go. This is blatant cheating. This is the 3rd time the service has not delivered the amount that it said it would deliver. When I put a certain amount to be delivered to the recipient there is no indication during that transaction that some money will get deducted. I was informed by my friend that he received 2.5% less than what I sent him. I don’t care if you hid it somewhere in your documentation. You are supposed to tell us right during the transaction that there might be some deduction when the receiver gets the money. I lost my credibility because of this app. I have been using this service for a long time now and only recently did I find out that my receiver was not receiving the full amount I was sending. I almost feel like filing a case against this company for not being upfront and transparent about this.

The worst service ever….BUT I GAVE A SECOND CHANCE AND CHANGED MY MIND. I’ve been trying to sent my money for around a month and something happens everytime my beneficiary tried to pick up the money…I don’t recommend this app at all…they might have good rates but everything is a problem with them….at the end I had to request my money back! As a company I heard a lot of good thing, but in my experience this was the first but also the last time I try to use any of you’re services. At the end I decided to give it one last chance and I’m the experience was really good….money got on time and the best part I got a good exchange rate!

Unreliable Cancelation. I have been using Remitly since last year. I also use Moneygram and Xoom. When by accident I made a mistake, I would easily cancel my transactions on Moneygram and Xoom, but with Remitly I realized the hard way that it is not reliable. I sent money and realized a mistake, so I cancelled it within 5 minutes of the transaction. I actually had to call customer service because I could not find the cancellation tab. I called and I was told they would send a “cancellation request to a department” really?? What a hassle. .Long story short, they transaction went through, to the wrong account, and I have no idea where the money is at , because they are not reliable. I called them, they “opened a ticket” to see what happened. I will not be using Remitly again. I’ll go back to Moneygram and Xoom. I can’t be gambling my money like that. By the way, when I was told it would be cancelled I made another transaction to have the money deposited in 7 days, but since the previous transaction money was taken from my account, I cancelled the new transaction as well on the same day. It is still pending cancellation, it has been almost a week. Very unreliable company. Never again!!

Worst customer service. I needed to cancel my transfer, their 1800 number is not working you can only use their chat which takes a couple hours to get ahold of someone they are of absolutely no help they say someone will call you in 3-5 days and that yes I can get my money back, after 5 days without a call, I got on their chat spoke to someone else, they tell me it can take up to 10 days not 3-5 like I was told the first time, I waited again no call so I contact my bank who says they will help me, then finally 4 weeks later Remitly calls me only to tell me they will not refund the money and the person I spoke to was very rude, so now this money is stuck and most likely Remitly will keep it. My friends and family who use the service will also stop using after this incident I made sure of that and I will be reporting to better business bureau.

Worse app ever.... I do not recommend this application. I would always send money to my brother in Mexico. Keep in mind i did it for over a year. Always trusted this company. Then i started to have problems with them. They only allowed me to send a limited quantity of money. They decided to block my account. I called they said i was able to unblock it. Then they hung up on me. Some girl name Diana then tells me they suspended my account. And i was not allowed to use their service anymore. All i did was send money to my family members... This company make me feel like in doing something wrong. They asume im doing some “kind of suspicious activity” way to address a loyal costumer. I hope Remitly approves my petition of deleting all my files from their system. If you guys don’t want to provide me service never again i don’t agree to you guys having my personal information. Heads up people this is app is a no no. If i was able to put 0 starts i would.

Transfers take too long. I wish I would have read more of the reviews before I used this app. My first transaction still hasn’t been delivered! I’ve contacted support 3 times already. Each time they say it would take anywhere between 2-24 hrs. for the transaction to complete. My question was, does the 24 hrs start from the beginning or does it start each time I communicate with support. I haven’t received a straight answer yet. I’m giving them the benefit of doubt by giving this app a 2 rating. I’m extremely disappointed, and as of right now, my first transaction is still pending. I’m a frequent user of needing funds transferred, but because this application can’t transfer funds in a timely manner, my first transaction will undoubtedly be my last. It’s time to go app hunting again.

Worst customer service. I wired $1000 to my in-law in Korea. My mother in law is old, so she deleted the text when she got the message saying that she’s got money wired. I chatted with online customer service representatives three times, but still can not resolve the problem. All I wanted was just send her another text. Is it so hard to do? God sake! Promised it will be resent within 2hours in first chat. Second chat, 4 hours. The third after 24 hours, there was nothing they can do... they blamed the partner in Korea. I do not need to hear that. Just fix the problem. Simple. I was very disappointed with their customer services. I won’t use their service again. I am sorry. But they use cheap labors from India. The customer service people do not know what they are talking about. You should train them better.

Everything is bad. Remitly is the worst transfer app, I have ever seen. I went to the App Store to look for an app and I saw Remitly i downloaded it, the first time I tried sending money was very bad too I was told to do a verification about why m sending the money, where do I get my money from, how’s the receiver related to me at first I thought this is normal but after I tried sending money to him again The same thing was asked I was even asked to provide a govt Id just to send money, I had to be transferred from one person to another for verification and one of the customer service even told me if I don’t send my govt Id, my money won’t be send to the receiver or will I get my money back to my account and I felt threatened, as a 18 year old guy who is saving money back at home from my pay checks I should be concern about that I don’t know if it’s the company’s policy but I feel this is wrong

Very bad experience. I downloaded this app to send money out of the country. I opened the app and inserted information that was asked but I probably didn’t catch all and missed some of the info I had to enter and kept prompting me to retry. Long story short I ended up making a mistake and attempted to send the funds over five times. On the last attempt, I inputted the missing birthdate and the app asked for my ID. I used my US passport and a video of my face. After an hour I get a response again that it was canceled. I called and they’re telling me the account as suspended because I violated the terms of this app. The customer service agent says the decision is irreversible, which makes no sense because I never used it so how can I violate the terms of the app? Very dumb that they don’t have a dispute for this decision. I’ll just go back to doing bank transfers.

Executive Escalation Team is Excellent. Gaita Chloe from the Executive Escalation Team helped me twice to successfully use Remitly’s service. I give her 5 stars as she was highly communicative and helpful and persistent in getting the transfer approved. As far as the regular customer service members, I would assign a much lower score as many do not seem to understand the process, how to move the process forward nor communicated correctly with us and would realize there was no reason to contact us AFTER they called us. So ask to work with the Executive escalation team and you will be thankful you did.

Bad service. Bad service and also bad customer service. I’m in Mexico and I tried to send money to my brother in law so he can give it to me and he wasn’t able to get it out. The called me to let me know the money was in hold because they need to verified some information about my account. The half me on hold for 15 min. They the told me that they needed to verified my bank account that it was mine that I had to send a bank statement to them. First time using this app and it was a fail. It’s has 5 stars but it’s not what they say it is. I told the the lady that was helping me out if there anything they can do since there a 5 star rating and she only keep saying that she needed my bank statement and to top it of they blocked my account I can’t go in the app. What time off app does this so the won’t get a bad review I’m telling you this is not what they say it is. I honest don’t recommend this app if you need to seen money ASAP.
