App closes every time I scan. I bought the 4.99 version and it shuts down every time I attempt to scan a barcode. I'm using an iPhone 6. I'm very disappointed.

Definitely a great app for vegans and vegetarians. I've bee looking for such an app for a long time. I've been vegetarian for a very long time and vegan as much as possible for a couple of years now. This apps is very helpful on a daily basis, or when trying to figure whether an obscure ingredient name is vegan. Huge thanks to the developers and people making the data necessary behind. Kudos!!! You guys absolutely rock!

Good, But a Bit Flakey. Apparently, this app suffers from a bit of a shaking infrastructure. When it works, it’s invaluable and worth every penny. When it doesn’t, it’s as frustrating as it gets. The app developer appears uncommunicative, so don’t bother trying to contact them. Just wait, they’ll fix it when they do.

Love this. As a fledgling vegan, this application has been invaluable when shopping at the grocery store!

Very Deceptive App. Almost every item I inquire about the answer says "It Is/Is Not Vegetarian" I didn't buy this app to know this. I bought it to know if this are VEGAN....hence the name of this app!!! What a rip off when it hardly ever answers this question!!

Please fix!. This app was great when it worked. Now all of a sudden it stopped working. I try to scan something and then it doesn’t load. Waste of money!

Works very well. I like it ..fast and very accurate good choice when you do not feel like reading a whole War and Peace on the package.

Love it!. A vegan friend told me about this app, and I love it! Perfect for a quick check at the store, or foods already in the pantry. The information is accurate and detailed. Very much worth the price for this vegan. : )

Don't Buy!!! This app is garbage!!!. App never works correctly especially the scanner. Biggest waste of money in the App Store for me this far. Doesn't recognize 99% of the things you try to scan!! Total garbage don't buy!!

Not happy at all!. The free app was okay however since I purchased the paid version it recognizes just about nothing. A total waste of money and no help at all at this point!

Only works about half the time. It knows the product but says all the ingredients are unknown if they are vegan. We are talking about things like potatoes. Not reliable at all. Other times it works fine. Would not recommend paying for it until it is fixed.

Not very happy!. This App doesn't tell you until you pay $4.99 that is is not compatible unless I have iOS 11... which I don't!!! How do I get refunded? 😨

Great app. It really helps me out when I don't see the ingredient know what it is, or when the list of ingredients is to long.

PLS FIX!!. This app would be awesome if it worked. It's only successful about half of the time. Especially this past week it will not scan or search. I keep getting a "Error with connection" message. It's very frustrating when your choosing which products to buy. There are also a lot of top name brands that aren't listed/found in this app. Pls fix these issues and I'll be one happy Vegan!

Great Idea, but poor results. I love the idea, but in my experience it incorrectly identified many foods as vegan that contained animal products. I hope they are able to fix this. Currently it has no value for me.

Not a good app. I bought this thinking it might be more useful than the free version. Nope. It has very few actual products in its database and is inaccurate. Certified vegan products are in the red zone? I'll stick with reading labels. It's a good idea- but it needs more work.

Scanner doesn't work. This would get five stars but I can't get the scanner to work. It just scans and scans but never focuses on the barcode no matter how many times I tap it. The ingredient search is great, but not worth $5. I'm not sure if it's because I have an older phone with the old OS but I'm super disappointed.

Continuously times out. I have had this app for a week and have only been able to successfully scan one item and get results. The scan feature AND search feature continuously time out. It's incredibly frustrating and very disappointing! :(

Resourceful. Up until a few minutes ago, this application was flawless. Had pretty much every item you’d scan. Now after the most recent update, it crashes! Please fix and I’ll update to 5 stars.

Not perfect, but useful. I use this app nearly every time I go to the grocery store. Sometimes a snack will have those impossible-to-read ingredients and this helps me determine whether or not they’re vegan within a matter of seconds. It saves a lot of time; now I don’t have to google everything. The database could be bigger, but it is easy to submit new barcodes to help the database grow. Definitely would recommend!

😩. I just paid $4.99 for this app and it does nothing. My sadness right now is directly proportional to the excitement I felt when I first found it. Please fix so I can enjoy using, at this point, what is only fabulous idea. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Great but needs an update on its food. Its a great concept and is super easy to use...but I'd say that 2/3 of the items I scan return an "unknown product" response. That's really frustrating. When it does recognize the product, it provides excellent information. This would be/will be a 5 star tool for vegans once it has more food products in the app.

Amazing Resource. Very enlightening. Foods I thought for sure were animal free are not. Like veggie burgers have Whey and egg whites. Yuck. Eye opening.

Great app! Need iOS11 update 2 allow user input. Thnx for having iOS11 update. I really appreciate the work it must have taken to get this app going. Many vegans would appreciate an update. Hope to have ability for end users to add to your database again. Thnx!

It doesn't do anything. Just tried this on 3 different products. Only one was in its database. The other two I tried to take pictures of and I got a connection failure. The one it did register was listed as "probably vegan" but all of the ingredients were plant based and it is a known vegan product. Wish I'd downloaded the free version.

Neat little application.. This app needs to be updated very soon - it's starting to slow down my phone (iPhone 6) because it's not compatible with the current iOS. Other than that, it's excellent. The database isn't very large yet, but the app makes it easy to add products for review when an unknown product comes up. It also allows us to choose if sugar is vegetarian or vegan, which is a nice feature. After using the free version for about a year, I decided to upgrade to support the app. There's not many similar ones out there, and this one is the most user friendly and simple without killing my phone's battery.

A life saver. I can't tell you how many times this app helped me while I was at the grocery. There are many ingredients that you don't think are non-vegan that can slip by. If you're vegan or vegetarian, you owe it to yourself to pick this app up.

Need an update!. Camera view is all stretched out. About half the items scan. Submitting new items times out and crashes.

Ok but needs work. This app has so much potential for awesomeness. Sometimes it scans perfectly and tells you what is vegan. But only about 1 of every 3 or 4 scans shows as the correct item. And I haven't scanned any unusual brand of food or beverage with it. Very typical brands and common vegan foods don't yet scan correctly. I look forward to future updates.

FIXED!. App is amazing and a true lifesaver for vegans!

New to Vegan eating. Just started my new vegan life and needed some help buying vegan foods. A quick scan, and you will be surprised how many products you buy have hidden animal products in them. Helps you avoid supporting the cruel treatment of animals. Jonnycakes

Skinless chicken breast probably vegan?. Items with ingredients such as “skinless chicken breast” are marked as probably vegan which makes it impossible for me to rely on or trust the filtering of this app. Although I’m no app developer, it seems an ingredient including chicken, something I certainly want to avoid as a vegan, shouldn’t be hard to mark definitely not vegan.

Was great. Suddenly stopped working. Both my wife and I rely on this app daily and it worked great most of the time. We were using the free version and it would just beep after scanning and nothing would happen. Manual entry doesn't do anything either. I paid $5 to get the full version hoping this would help, but to no avail. Then I went to email them from the app for assistance and you can't even click on the email link. What use is that? Please fix this. I really hope they see my review, since I can't email them and make this app great again.

Makes shopping a lot easier!. Newly vegan. Tried this app out so far it works great!

Trains the Eyes!. Although many people use this app to avoid reading labels, I have found the app useful in learning about ingredients that I was unaware of that are vegan.

Easy to use and helpful. So easy to use this app. I love it and highly recommend it. Just be careful holding phone in one hand. The scanner works great and it is very fast.

Mr. Doesn't work

Doesn't work. Hasn't recognised any foods and can't add items due to constant connection failure message. Total rip off!

Nope. Great idea but it just doesn't do what It claims. Cant recognise ingredients (vegan or otherwise) for Australia. Don't bother.

Don't waste your money.. The app barely works. Often get an error alert, and sometimes things that aren't vegan says that it is, or says mostly vegan (?). It's just not reliable.

Great app. I really love this app! It's great for helping me make decisions at the grocery store. I would give it 5 stars if I could scan Canadian UPCs. Luckily, I can work around the issue using the product and ingredient search.

Not impressed. For a 7.00 app I shouldn't have an error notification come up all the time limiting the use of the app to non existent. When it does work it doesn't search all items I question. Not good.

Is it worth it? Definitely!. This is easily the best app available with Vegans in mind. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not use this app.

Is it vegan. I want to thank the creator(s) of this app! I have been vegetarian for 4 years and recently decided to make that change, to vegan ism. This app has made my change a wonderful and exciting experience. Reading, let alone trying to pronouncing those 16-20 letter words that are in almost every product in our markets was practically impossible. I guess that's why companies take such advantage of the all trusting, unsuspecting consumer, they must know that the average shopper is not going to stand in the isle of the grocery store and study every ingredient of each and every product that they select. This app has not only helped me to choose the things that I want to feed my husband and 3 granddaughters, it has literally opened my eyes to a much bigger picture. Animal cruelty, toxins, chemicals and hate that the food industry has put into our lives via food, cosmetics, soaps, clothing, etc. is no longer on my menu or acceptable in my life. I found your app by accident, I have told EVERYONE that I have seen about it. Relatives and complete strangers too. Thanks again so much! Keep up you wonderful work!

AMAZING!!!. Many have dreamed and tried for what this fledgling app has already archived. Well worth the money. A huge time saver when you are up against the clock and don't have time to go through lists on what ever you may be buying. For seasoned vegans and beginners alike.

Great app, all conscious people should be using. This should be built into the OS or better yet we all can support the app so that well informed consumers revolutionize the industry. It's really disgusting how factory farming and greedy corporations have manipulated the good industry to such extremes. Let's make this app #1 and get fruit subsidized instead of corn...would be an entirely different country.

Finally an app worth it's price!!!. This app is worth $4.99 if you are a vegan. If you are not a vegan then this app is not for you. I can not see why a person would rate this app less than four stars. I do agree the scanner could be better. I rate this app five stars because it's capability of letting you know what is vegan outweighs the short coming of the scanner. You can also type in the bar code manually. Overall, great app : )

Extremely useful. This app is very useful while shopping. Most apps make you manually search for individual ingredients, but with this app you just scan the barcode. Love it. The only criticism is the app is kind of fugly, but the developer knows this and is sorting it out.

Love it -- use it almost every day. We have a blast scanning products at Trader Joe's and yelling -- "hey -- this is vegan!" It's definitely the most valuable tool when trying to shop for vegan items.

Exactly what vegans have been looking for. This is such an awesome new app. I know that vegans (new and old) have been looking for an app like this for years. To finally have this available will make life so much better for people everywhere who are trying to avoid animal products. Best App on my IPhone!!. I have never wrote a review for any app until today. As a vegan with a vegetarian partner, this app is part of our life. When I go to the store I whip out the app to assist me with trying new products or double check whether everything I'm use to buying is definately vegan. I hated living in the land of the lost with little assistance as to exactly what can I eat. This app was worth the price and more.

Lousy barcode reader algorithm. It finds things about 10-30% of the time. Same thing, if you scan it five times, 4 times it will tell you that it's an unknown item, one time it may recognize it. I finally figured out at least one reason for it. The barcode reader algorithm is horrible. They must have written it themselves or used a really cheap one. This is because there are many excellent barcode readers out there in many other apps. This one misunderstands the numbers in the barcode more than 50% of the time. If you actually look at the numbers, most times they don't match what's on the barcode. It is easily provable by scanning the item a couple of times, perhaps one time the numbers come out right and then it finds the item many times. Also, they must be aware of this issue, because of the prominent manual UPC code entering button. If you enter the code numbers manually, you have a greater chance of finding the item (because then at least you're actually looking for the right item). Very very disappointing. Please fix this obvious problem. There is a serious need for this app out there (if will work)😐
