HOW IT WORKS

As the name "Step Out!" implied, the only way you can turn off this alarm clock is STEPPING out of your bed (you still can snooze - in a limited duration). It uses advanced image recognition and step tracking technologies to check whether you’re far away from your bed.

After ringing, the app asks you to capture another photo of a specified place, it should be where you usually be every time you wake up, such as the bathroom, the kitchen, ... So you just take a photo and do your routine work like washing your face or preparing breakfast.

Another alternative is using the step counter, which simplifies this process into just nothing. You wake up and go to wherever you want with the device. After reaching enough number of steps, the alarm will automatically turn off. It’s simply a smarter alarm with no additional action., You’ll love using it from the very first time.

Effective but flawed. Like many who download this app, I snooze- repeatedly and habitually. When I became desperate and hit the App Store searching for a solution, this app seemed well-reviewed so I went for it. It could benefit from a better step counter as I have to walk in endless circles around my living room just to get 10 steps and often get accused of cheating. I also hate that I have to push "I'm awake" for it to start counting. And the alarm won't go off if your phone is on "do not disturb," which means I have to hear texts and emails as they come through all night. Apple's alarm works despite having "do not disturb" on, so it's not intuitive that I would need to leave my volume on. But overall it gets me up. That's what I wanted. It's not perfect but hey, it was 2 bucks.

Very good!. Annoying as all get out... But it works! I'm the type who justifies missing everything in the morning just for a few more minutes (hours) of sleep. This is the first alarm I've used that has gotten me up several days in a row without fail. I will say that the sensor for the steps needs to be modified, it's inaccurate. Also, sometimes the snooze option messes up the volume of the alarm. Not just for the time I hit snooze, but for the rest of the morning! I overslept 2 hours a few days ago because of it. I've been setting a back up alarm on a separate app.. Just in case. Overall, I'd recommend this alarm. Just not if you share a room with someone who wakes up later than you! (Students, it's a bad idea.)

The best you can get. This thing WILL make you get up out of bed and walk around. You can obviously go back to bed afterward- but it is more likely to wake you up because- will not count steps if you are trying to trick it by moving your phone back and forth or walking in circles ( I've tried it lol)- You must first get up AWAY from your bed in order to turn it off (although you try to circle around your bed if you'd like). Also, you cannot quit the app OR silence the alarm until you are finished walking. So it does get you out of bed and gives you a major advantage to the chance staying awake vs a regular alarm clock. Must have for people like me who have trouble waking up

Lost confidence, no support, no update in 2 years. I thought this app was great because of the reviews so bought it this week. Was going great then it has failed a couple times making me lose confidence in it. I should have checked the last time the app was updated since its been almost 2 years. The alarm has failed a couple times to go off for no reason. Sound on and DND off but still it didn't go off. I thought it was going great but anytime I test an alarm app, I keep apples built in alarms for a while just in case. Glad I did. Tried contacting support through the in-app email address (support@) then through their website (contact@). Both of them were rejected that the user doesn't exist so guess their support is completely dead. Gonna contact apple for a refund and about the bad emails.

Love this!. I am not the most efficient at getting out of bed and starting my day. I usually fight with my alarm clock for about an hour. Even placing the alarm clock across my room didn't work, I'd just hit snooze and flop right back into bed. This app forces me to get up and move around. I have my steps set to 30... about the distance from my bed to the back door to let my dog out. The first time I used it the alarm did not go off until I opened the app. Later I realized that the app must be permitted to send you notifications. That way the alarm will go off when the screen is locked. I really like how his app had changed my mornings.... now there is a way to cheat the steps but it's very difficult and if the app notices that your "steps" (i.e. Shaking your phone) are not consistent or you miss taking a step for too long, the app will reset and make you start over. I highly recommend this app for those who struggle to get out of bed.

When it works, it works.... The core features of this app are great and have really helped me develop better habits of waking up. Forcing me to walk around or think through taking a picture makes it much easier to resist getting back in bed or hitting snooze. However, this app feels extremely glitchy/touchy. You have to remember to: hit all the right check marks to set the alarm, make sure the notification flag for the app is on, turn your phone on loud or it won't work, make sure this app is open and active all night, etc... And even then I still wake up an hour after the alarm is set every few days only to hear it sending quiet text notifications. There are no instructions on using the confusing format, so expect some trial and error. I have to use along with a regular alarm to be safe, in which case I have to voluntarily choose to open this app for it to go off.

So far so good! UPDATED. UPDATE 2: I've also noticed you can turn the power button off too to bypass the alarm. If this issue and the vibrate one were fixed, I think this alarm would be flawless. Also needs to be updated for new iOS. UPDATE: So, I've discovered a very big flaw in this alarm. If the alarm is going off, all you need to do is flick the switch on your phone to vibrate, and then it will just send you little notifications which vibrate once each time. Very easy to ignore and sleep through. So, instead of it waking me up, I just turn it to vibrate and then keep sleeping, because I don't even notice the notifications. This is something that needs to be changed as it is a loophole too easy to take advantage of. Also, I agree with others that the sensors need to be updated. As long as I've been using this app (which is admittedly not too long), it has really helped me to wake up! It really is the stepping that gets me up and moving to the point where I feel like, "Why bother going back to bed?" I've been so productive since I've been getting up bright and early. Great app and I look forward to more early morning thanks in no small part to it.

Needs improvement. I was an early adopter of this app, then deleted it because of problems with operates, and then eventually reinstalled it. I like the idea of having alarms that require you to get out of bed and be in a certain location, but the snooze function doesn't help to get you up and out of bed sufficiently. For example, if your phone is on, then alarms only show up as three-note pop up notifications, rather than an actual alarm—it's only when you actually address the pop ups that the alarm sound activates. I have taken to using this product's in conjunction with standard alarms, that the standard alarms will be loud enough for me to hear, but that this will cause me to have to get out of bed. But I can tell you right now that the first alarm that I have set up was able to be snooze or ignored long enough that by the time I actually got up to take a photo, the second alarm was ready to go off.

GOOD!! But could be better.... I'll start out by saying I have a snooze addiction. Before this app, I'd have to set my alarm a good 45 min (or more) before I had to get out of bed because I would snooze my alarm 4-5-6-7-or more times!! No joke. I like my sleep and don't like to get out of bed. This app has cured that! I use the photo feature and it works great!! Every morning to shut my alarm off, I have to go out to my living room and take a picture of my bookshelf. It FORCES me to get out of bed! I still use my phone's alarm on the occasion I can afford to snooze multiple times, but my average work day, this is what wakes me. It's really good, but not perfect. I'll echo a few other reviews by saying it's easy to silence. I have to check my sound settings every night. There have been mornings where I've not woken up in time because I forgot it on silent and it was sending a notification and vibrating a short burst every 10 seconds. Not particularly helpful. Like another reviewer, I would also like the first alarm to be able to be my custom music. Please fix! Right now, it wakes you up with some built in ring tone, then you either snooze (just once), or tap "I'm awake"... THEN your custom music kicks in. It works, but not my favorite. Despite my negative comments, I would still recommend this app! It's great if you're someone like me who has trouble forcing yourself to get out of bed!

Good app, needs some improvements. I really like this app when I use it. It absolutely gets me out of bed so I can get my day started and be up on time. As other users have mentioned though, recently there seems to be some functionality changes that have enabled a couple of loopholes to the alarms. Which yes, it's still our responsibility to not take advantage of them, but let's be honest - if we could do that we wouldn't be in need of this app to get us out of bed. The app also needs to be updated for iOS 11. I've been getting that notification since the last iOS release that the app wasn't updated for, so now I believe it's at least two releases behind. Perhaps that's related to the functionality changes / loopholes? Not sure.

Annoying yet very Effective. This is by far the most annoying yet effective alarm clock I have ever seen/heard of!! I am NOT and morning person and can sleep through ANYTHING! I usually have to set se salt alarms and I turn them off in my sleep without ever knowing it and end up late or missing what I had planned. I just got a new job (after being able to stay home for almost 2 years) and needed something to actually wake me up & I found it! I get up when the first alarm goes off! Because I have mine set to take 20 steps before it turns off I am actually awake by the time it turns off. My only complaint is that the sensing is somewhat off and does not count the step properly sometimes and has started over on me a few times! (But I guess with the extra steps it's just waking me up even more!) :)

Critical flaw but good. App only works when you have it open all night. So your screen has to be turned on all night on the app. So your phone has to be plugged in all night. This is the only way that the alarm actually starts playing at the time, instead of these very ignorable text message alerts that come up. There is a way to make your phone never auto-lock within the app, so you don't have to go to your actual iPhone settings to do this. A useful correction would be to have the alarm work even when the app was closed or running in the background when your screen is on sleep. Other than that, this is probably the most helpful app on the market for waking up. Works every time if you use it correctly.

Got my ADHD snooze-addict rear up!. Snooze bar addiction has been killing my mornings. It's been a bad habit for years and it causes my mornings to be foggy, moody and I end up rushing my kids -making me feel awful. Yesterday, I was in search of an alarm clock app that wouldn't turn off on its own (or for at least a few minutes) unlike the second alarm that I keep in the bathroom that turns off after thirty seconds- so it's too easy to ignore as I am warm and cozy in my dark bedroom. This app went off at 5:30am and I went to hit snooze out of habit- nope! I set it to ten steps which it about the distance to my coffee pot. I reached the kitchen, the alarm stopped then I laughed a little bit at the simplicity it took to get me out of bed and poured a cup of coffee. Oh, another thing that helped- I put a lamp on a timer that turned on 15 minutes before the alarm so when the alarm went off, I wasn't in a dark room when I woke since sunrise is not for another hour. I love this app and highly recommend it. I got up two hours before it's time to leave today. I'm having coffee, watching the news, then I will wake up my kids with a smile as I feel alert and rested and not groggy and half dead after hitting snooze for an hour :)

Disappointed. I bought this app yesterday and I’m already disappointed. As an expert snoozer, all I had to do when the alarm went off this morning was silence my iPhone and the alarm stopped playing. It wasn’t even playing the music that I had to set as my alarm... I had to go onto the app for that music to start playing. It’s stupid that the app is designed to only work when your phone is unlocked - obviously your phone is going to be locked after you were sleeping for a night. Also, why aren’t there any instructions on how this app works? I set the app to allow me to snooze for 10 minutes, but I have no idea how many times I’m allowed to snooze because there are no directions and no indications within the app. It’s not very user friendly. I think the only reason I got out of bed was the excitement of knowing I was using the app for the first time.

Love it!. I got in the habit of completely turning off my 15- 5 minute alarms in the morning and going back to sleep causing me to run late every morning. Since I have downloaded this app I've been waking up early and have had time to watch the news or walk my dogs and really get ready for the day. I feel refreshed and not so groggy! The only downside is I have to keep my phone on loud otherwise the alarm only vibrates in the morning and that won't wake me up. I receive a lot of emails during my sleeping time so I've learned to turn my volume down to half and my alarm still goes off and I don't hear all the emails! this app has been a life saver and I love it!

And it's forcing me to write a review.... I downloaded this app about a minute ago, opened it and found that it's so desperate for my approval that it REQUIRES my opinion of it just to change a background. I haven't used it yet but I wanna change the background so I'll give it a go. Still haven't used it.... I can neither confirm nor deny my enjoyment/appreciation of this app at this time. Now I know 3 starts would technically be fair but I feel that if I did that then the developer wouldn't learn anything. Like say... Giving me a few days then asking for a review. I mean, I'll change the review to reflect its usefulness once I've actually used it... Maybe. You're looking at a guy that needs this much help just to get out of bed in the morning. What do you think the odds are of me revisiting this review? Probably pretty close to the number of times I've actually used the app the review is based on in the first place. Sleep tight.

I hate this app. It's not what is advertised. First, it didn't go off. I luckily had set another alarm just in case and got up in time to start my day. Over an hour later in the car, I opened it to see if I'd missed something, and it started going off and wouldn't stop (which it's supposed to do). The thing is that it doesn't "count your steps." It arbitrarily counts down and took over a minute to shut up, all while making this stupid sound at top volume on the street. I don't know anyone who takes over a minute to walk 30 steps except maybe toddlers, who don't hold truck with cell phones. So, if the app does indeed need to be open all night (and probably burn up a bunch of data while it is), the darn thing should actually have real instructions OR not go off the second you open it when the alarm should have started an hour beforehand OR actually have an accurate way of counting your steps. It should also have a "save" option when setting the alarm--it took me several minutes to figure out that the only way to save is to hit "cancel" so that a dialog box comes up that asks if you want to save...and that's just stupid. To sum it up: I hate this app and wish I hadn't wasted my money on it.

You'd better set a backup alarm!. This is the most confusing app ever. You really don't know what to do with some of the options like Autolock and crazy things happen all the time when you open the app or try to take your steps. Saving a new alarm or deleting an alarm is ridiculous in its complexity. BUT I still use it every morning because the annoying "kids laughing" alarm sound always gets me up eventually. Yes, you have to unlock your phone and open the app in order to take your steps and to shut off the alarm. But if you choose Only One Snooze in the options, it eventually snoozes you every single minute, which is what gets me up. But expect tons of bugs and weird things to happen in this app. It's highly imperfect, but it does get me up better than any other alarm clock.

Nothing Gets Us Up except THIS!!. Seriously. My husband and I have planned to get up at 6:30, every morning we've been married (about 4 months ago). It's never ever happened-- we always snooze until about 7:20, and then we end up late to class. We both bought the alarm this week, and we have been getting up at 6:30 am consistently! We look silly, both walking around our little apartment, BUT IT WORKS. And I LOVE that it knows if I'm "cheating". It's awesome. Although...it's a little hard to figure out. The interface and functions keep changing or something, and I don't want the alarm to snooze before I even have to get up and walk- but it does.

Turn Do not Disturb off or set the alarm for after DnD turns off. I have do not disturb on my phone set from 10pm-7am. The app does say that do not disturb will silence the alarm, but I didn't notice this when turning the alarm on for the first time yesterday. Suffice it to say, my alarm went off at 7am instead of 6am (I have now changed do not disturb to 5:59am so the alarm can go off at 6am). It took a few moments for my sleep addled brain to realize the time AND to realize that to begin counting your steps, you have to tap a button on the phone. It got me up better than most alarms, and the thirty steps got me to my kitchen. But I somehow ended up back in bed downstairs with a half full kettle of water on my night stand (I think I was going to make coffee-we have a French press). Anyways, I'm definitely going to incorporate the "take a photo" option as well because trying to figure out how to take a photo and count my steps while I'm still asleep will hopefully wake me up enough to actually make coffee and stay out of bed. All in all, this alarm clock got me further along than most alarm clocks. I just wish I was a morning person so I didn't have this issue.

So far, so good. Like probably everyone else trying this alarm, I am a snooze addict and make every excuse to not get up in the morning. I used to have two alarms going off every couple of minutes and I would still manage to snooze for an hour or more. I've been using this app for a couple of weeks & so far it is getting me up and I cannot find a way to cheat it! I have only two complaints. One is that setting the alarm itself is a little confusing. Make sure to check whether you allow a snooze option and make sure you have made your alarm active. My second complaint is the bigger one - this alarm does not work if your phone is on vibrate until you have unlocked your phone. I actually almost missed a flight last week because I didn't realize I had left my phone on vibrate. Yikes!! This is something I make sure to check now. (The problem is not having your phone locked, as some people have commented.) Also, I read some comments that the step counter does not work. It has worked perfectly fine for me - make sure you hit the button to tell it to start counting your steps first!

I'm so confused!. Wait, wait! You're an alarm clock that doesn't have an alarm to wake you up! That doesn't make any sense. Your little music will play once and then immediately go to snooze when I unlock the phone. But once snooze is up, the only way you try to wake me up is by sending me silly little text messages, which of course I don't hear when I'm asleep. In order to actually hear my alarm I have to manually tell you that I up before taking my steps. But I shouldn't have to be up and actively working in order to make my alarm go off! Give me the option to snooze once or twice, and then make my alarm go off with actual music that won't stop until I get my steps in. I shouldn't have to press a certain button in order to make this happen. You have a fantastic idea but some serious kinks to work out. Also it is rude to ask paying customers to review their product in order to use certain features only minutes after downloading this app. Give people 2 to 3 days to find out if your app actually works, which it doesn't seem to, before reviewing. Also your website is in need of serious assistance. I had high hopes for this app but it simply doesn't work unless you're already awake. Pretty much pointless.

Best ever.. I'm the girl that hits snooze in her sleep so many times that the alarm clock gives up. This alarm is basically foolproof, and definitely worth buying! FYI, you definitely need to have your phone's ringer on (i.e. not on silent)...but as long as you remember to check that the night before, it will work. The step counter is not the most accurate but it's no big deal - I have it set to 10 steps and I probably take around 30 fast and frantic steps (all the while thinking "God this stupid alarm better not wake my 4yo up 😩") to satisfy the 10 step qualification, but if I walk more calmly and slowly it is way more accurate.

Not good at all, the alarms didn’t even go off. Got the app mainly because of the fact I’d need to either take a picture or hit a certain number of steps to turn the alarm off. Upon setting up the alarm it was really confusing. Once I got the time set for when I wanted up than cake choosing the alarm sound. The app showed the option to go into my music but no matter how many times I clicked it it would not open (app was granted access it let me do it one time but wouldn’t work after). I set one alarm to require me to take a picture of something on a different level of my house than my bed and set a second alarm to require me to take 20 steps. Went to go to bed and closed all my apps on my phone when I was given a notification saying if I closed that app the alarm wouldn’t work. I left it open in the background, morning came and neither of the alarms went off. Wish I wouldn’t have spent the money.

Great concept, pretty good app. I used this app once last week and it worked perfectly, which is why I gave it as many stars as I did. I happened to lose my phone the day after I downloaded it, so I just tried it again for the next time more than a week later. Fortunately, by a random stroke of luck, I happened to wake up 30 seconds before the alarm went off, but I was very surprised to only hear a little ding, and see that it had just sent me a little notification. Because it didn't do this last week, I know it's a problem with how I've configured the settings somehow, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to fix this, and it seems to me that a setting like that shouldn't be hidden, since it's such an important piece to making this app at all functional. When I get it figured out, this rating will probably go up because when it went off properly, this app was perfect.

It has helped me a lot. Update: This app won’t work with the new iOS update!!! 😭 I have depended on this app for years to wake me up because nothing else works. Please update it! — I've been using this app for a year or two and it's pretty much the only thing that works to get me out of bed in the morning. I'm a really deep sleeper and with any other kind of alarm I tend to turn it off in my sleep without realizing and then wake up hours late. I do think it could be a bit simpler and more user friendly. The way it's currently set up, how you set the alarm time, delete alarms, etc... I don't think is very intuitive. I also would like some more alarm options as the same ones have been on there for years and are pretty miserable alarms to listen to. Oh, and this is a big downside of this app: it CANNOT be on silent if you want it to wake you up with sound in the morning. I can't explain what a pain this is because I've had to change my text tone so it doesn't ever make a sound. And if I get a call in the middle of the night... Of course it goes off and wakes up my boyfriend and (maybe) me too. That really should be changed so it can go off when it's on vibrate just like the regular Apple alarm.

Vibrate and touch to start. Im glad I set another alarm the first time I tried this one. I didn't realize if I had my phone on vibrate that the sound wouldn't go off. At least once my other alarm went off and then I turned the sound on, this came on as normal. The only other issue I have is that you have to touch to start it. I thought it would realize I was up and walking so in my dazed state I did about 30 before I realized what the problem was. No major bug, just a preference. All in all this is a sleek app that as long as I keep my volume on (though please change that in a future update) I feel confident in saying will help me to get up, get up on time, and keep to my commitments. Thank you so much! Well worth two dollars!

Not impressed. As a business professional, I never take my iPhone off vibrate. I don't have an issue with waking up to go to work. The purpose of this app was to help me get out of bed to exercise in the morning (instead of after work when I tend to be "too tired"). I'm confused why the Devs would make it so it just sends you notifications (when phone is set to vibrate) instead of goes off as an alarm. The iPhone alarm that comes standard with the phone doesn't have a problem with going off when my phone is still set on vibrate. Even then I had the alarm set this morning for 6am and the phone set to normal (not on vibrate only) and it didn't go off until 8:25am. Maybe something I did triggered it. But I woke up as usual at 7am no problem. Please fix. I'm happy with the walking sensitivity. If it worked the $2 is worth it. But clearly still a lot of issues.

20% Chance of Actually Working. Like a few other reviewers, I have had problems with the alarm ever going off. I have left the app open and active, kept my phone off silent, and do not use Do Not Disturb. Just this morning, after the alarm was supposed to wake me, I unlocked my phone, double tapped the home button to see all my open apps and there it was, sandwiched between an open Chrome browser and Facebook, the clock displaying "9:51 pm". I tapped it and THEN it displayed the notification that it was snoozing, but am I awake? Because then it will actually work as intended. So, I tell it I'm awake and do the walking in circles thing and it turns off. I sent an email to the provided support address explaining by problem. It came back as undeliverable because the address doesn't exist. I'm guessing that since this hasn't been updated since 2014, I'd best move on, find myself another app to help me with my snoozing addiction. Sad.

A Life-Changing App. We all know someone who can never be on time in the morning. For 30 years I was that person. I have tried loud alarms, alarms that shake the bed, multiple alarms with staggered alarm times, alarms with loud rock or metal music, and a gaggle of apps. This alarm app always wakes me up. It will not shut up until you complete 10-30 steps (20 is enough for me to wake up enough to realize I need to stay awake) or to take a near-identical photo that you preset (i.e. A picture of your coffee pot). Yes, there are loopholes if you try hard enough to get around it so you have to want to make the change. Now, I live with my fiancée and if the alarm doesn't wake me immediately then she will! All in all, this app seriously changed my life. If you really want to change from always being the person that's late to being 5 minutes early everyday (like I am now!!) then stop reading reviews and download this app. This is the only alarm app worth having.

Worthwhile app for snooze-addicts, but could use better set of instructions. This app isn't perfect, but is a great help for forcing you to get out of bed instead of hitting snooze a dozen times. I've read through a few complaints that people said the alarm never went off or didn't count their steps properly.. I have noticed that you must reset the alarm in the app if you've 'dismissed' the app previously. It can seem a bit annoying to make sure your alarm is in fact set every night, but I tend to double check the alarm time anyhow depending on the time I get to bed. As far as tracking steps, always seems to work for me - it does tend to need a bit of accelerometer motion to get it started counting down.

Worked on the first try. My bed and I get along very well and no matter how early I tried to get to sleep, somehow I've been able to drag myself out of the comfort of my down blanket and cozy pillows to wake up any earlier than a half hour before I had to be to work. This usually means I haven't showered for work (ew, I know), I've barely done anything with my hair, and I haven't had time to eat. I've tried setting 10 alarms at 5-10 minute intervals and nothing. On a whim, I downloaded this app before bed last night and this morning, I'm up a full hour and 15 minutes before I usually get up and while I'm still yawning my brain is wide awake and so excited that I get to eat breakfast, have coffee, and/or workout at HOME (and shower!) before I have to run out the door. I only hope this app helps this well every morning!

Want my money back!. This app does not work! This morning, the app went off and I was somehow able to silence it without doing anything. I have no idea what I pushed cuz I was half asleep of course (maybe the home button), but I was not taken anywhere where I would have to walk around or anything. This app is a waste of money. I’ve never paid for an app before and this was NOT worth the $2. It’s also very quiet, so I set the regular Iphone alarm app for a minute before so I can actually wake up. Also once I was trying to set the alarm (I was choosing which sound I wanted) and it just wouldn’t stop making the alarm sounds. It’s frustrating that this app is so unreliable because that’s the whole point of an alarm. The interface is also confusing. And you have to push certain buttons which are stupid to begin your walking or to set the alarm. But there’s no words or instructions to help you understand how to use the app. I saw that there were bad reviews like this before and bought it anyway thinking the bugs would have been fixed cuz the reviews were YEARS old. Nope! It’s STILL a garbage App! They get one star for trying to make an good app.

It actually works.... I'm a serious snoozer...I can set 3 separate alarms, hit snooze a half dozen times on all of them, and still manage to oversleep. It's been an issue for quite some time, and it has also made morning quite unpleasant for the person sleeping with me! Then along came this app... It doesn't allow me to cheat...I can't turn the volume down (it takes over the iPhone controls), I can only snooze once, and it forces me to get up and walk....out of bed, down the hall, and to the kitchen. The only flaw I've found so far is that it doesn't count steps correctly (maybe because I'm petite...it takes me about four physical steps for the app to count one), but that's okay because by the time the alarm stops, I'm reasonably awake and standing right in front of my Keurig, which is perfect. This app is truly genius

A god send--only thing that's fail proof. After going through a very stressful time I found my normal insomnia issue became quite severe and as a result of that was causing me to consistently stay up WAYYY past anyone's bed time and therefore I was inadvertently turning off literally EVERY SINGLE alarm that normally would suffice to wake me up in the am. My job is not super strict on my start time however I noticed a MAJOR different in the way my days would start--waking up 40 mins before shift start time vs 1:30 (easily feasible) is the different between bat crap crazy lady who feels gross and hates her outfit and hairdo to just the opposite ( for the most part) I can have a few cups of coffee at home without resorting to wasting $$ at some nasty drive thru. if your a hard sleeper and/or suffer from occasional insomnia, with workaholic tendencies then here is your answer!!!

This app is so annoying! I love it!. I hate mornings. I mean I really hate mornings. It's very easy for me to shut off an alarm and turn around and go back to sleep. I'm not talking snooze, I'm talking shut it off and go back to bed. This alarm clock is amazing! It makes you take a certain amount of preprogrammed steps before it will shut up. You can't fool this thing… I've tried! I've tried shaking it, rocking it, mimicking footsteps, but none of that works. Unlike most exercise apps that you can fool by shaking your device, this will not be fooled! I have this set to make me walk 20 steps before it will shut off. For me, this is the perfect distance from my bedroom to my coffeemaker, and my coffeemaker to my washroom. This app is great and it has so many features! Full disclosure, I never would've bought this app. It was featured on one of those free up a day websites and I tried it out. I'm very fortunate for that, so I tell a lot of people about this app because I figured it's the least I can do seeing as how it's wonderful! Also, they ask you to write a review to use certain backgrounds for free, I don't have a problem with that so here I am. If you are not a morning person, if you can't get out of bed in the morning, check this app out.

Great idea but kinda buggy. So I'm one of those people who turns off my own alarm when it goes off in the morning without even waking up enough to realize I did that. I'm constantly late to everything because of this which was getting me in trouble now that I've started college. This alarm has a great concept of either forcing you to take a certain amount of steps out of bed or taking a picture of something in your house to turn the alarm off. However it has some bugs. Like it won't play your personal music when it first goes off. It only plays it after you unlock your phone and open the app. Also if your phone is on silent it only vibrates to wake you up. Which wouldn't be a huge problem but even when I made sure my phone wasn't on silent, it still only vibrated. Not sure if maybe it happened because I didn't leave the app open? Still definitely some things need to be fixed.

Great alarm app, but missing a key feature. I installed this app on my phone to help curb my snooze addiction and so far it works great! Both the "walk X number of steps" and the camera versions of the alarm work perfectly well to force me out of bed to stop this loud and annoying alarm, which in turn makes it harder to postpone getting up when I ought to. My only complaint is that there's no real way to disable the alarm without performing whatever task you set it up with. On most mornings that's a good thing as it keeps you from cheating, but it becomes a nuisance on days where you've deviated from your schedule (ie you got up extra early and left the house before the alarm went off or are sleeping somewhere other than your home and you're using the camera based alarm) and forgot to cancel the alarm before hand. If the alarm goes off and you're not in a place where you can take steps or don't have access to the place/thing you need to photograph in order to disable the alarm, the only way to shut it off is to uninstall the app. That's a little crazy!

A very well thought out app. I was pleasantly surprised when I got this app, as most of the alarm apps I have had have been deleted by the next day. This app is well thought out and actually affective at getting me up in the morning. In this app you have two choices of how to turn the alarm off; the step counter, which I found was easy to cheat ( all you have to do is start the count and shake your device), and the photo. The photo works very well for me and is very hard to cheat as the recognition software works very well, so I really do have to go and get up to turn it off. Not even exiting the app will let you cheat. The built in sounds are good and it lets you use your own music. The only downside is that the alarms can be a bit confusing to set up and save ( it was still fairly easy) and the step counter is easy to cheat. All in all the app is well worth it and I am very pleased!

Didn't go off? But I still have to review??. I just got this app yesterday after a coworker told me how much she liked it. I paid actual money for an app, which I never do, but figured it'd be worth it because of how much she talked it up. I set it up last night and it didn't go off, or if it did I didn't hear it. (It was right next to my head, so if I didn't hear it then it is way too quiet of an alarm.) Thankfully I didn't turn off my regular phone alarms or I might've overslept by a lot and been late for work. Normally I would try it out for a few days before reviewing, but it made me write a review before changing the background color. I'm fine with apps asking you to pay before using an unnecessary feature, but asking me to review after only one day of having the app? Well here you go Step Out! developers, here's a one star review. This app needs clearer instructions that are readable after the first use, and an alarm that actually goes off. Then maybe it will meet expectations. As of right now, I regret wasting my money on this.

Well worth the money. This is possibly the greatest alarm I’ve ever used. It’s always been difficult for me to wake up and get out of bed due to medical conditions. I also have a habit of, if I get too familiar with the alarm tone, turning my regular phone alarm off in my sleep. That’s definitely not the case with this. Even if I hit the buttons on the side of my phone to silence it, it doesn’t stay quiet for long. I love that it makes me get up and walk to turn the alarm off; it recognizes the difference between you walking and shaking the phone. Since I’ve been using this app, I’ve been able to get up and actually make it to work on time. I can’t recommend this enough.

It would work better if certain things were fixed.. This app has the potential to work. I was happy with it on the first day, because the alarm woke me up perfectly. But the next day, it didn't start ringing until I went to the app to inspect why (after the point it was supposed to go off.) On the third and fourth days, I discovered in my half-asleep state that I could just close the app and go back to sleep. Another thing is, I went to the app to check if I still had another alarm set, then the alarm from the previous morning went off. To stop it, I moved my phone as if I was walking around (though I wasn't) and that was enough to trick the app. This is the first app I've ever paid for, and I'm not so impressed with it. Considering it has only worked once all week, I give it 3 stars. They should definitely find a way to fix the kinks.

SO FAR....SO GOOD!!!!!!. I am NOT a morning person, but I have a job....so I have to get up in the morning. I am also a procrastinator, ADHD, creative genius.....soooo while defenseless with sleep deprivation, I can talk myself out of any alarm I set anywhere in my room....but this app gets me UP(which I would do to shut alarm and get back in bed), WALKING(the Must to shut alarm off), and AWAKE!!! I know there are so many more out there who hit snooze and many times as possible, shut off the alarm, or just plain sleep thru it who will also LOVE this!!! Get it. try it. It works. And for those people who are whining about not hearing it or this or that....use the feature that let's you use a song(pick the most annoying one you can), set another alarm to remind you to turn the sound back off on your way to work, but quit looking for reasons to continue to oversleep....cause this app rocks!!!

Not bad..... I do wish the app wouldn't ask you as to whether or not you're awake because usually I'm not. The app does a good job of forcing you to actually get up and take stabs and take pictures of where you're supposed to go after you wake up. I do wish there was a way to override the lock setting because I don't hear the little notifications that it sends me when my phone is locked. It is a wonderful idea but it needs to be refined a little. I should not be awake enough to unlock my iPhone before it actually starts going off. That's just ridiculous. If the developers made it so that the alarm started going off while the phone was locked, the app would be ten times better. For now I'm keeping my phone plugged in and unlocked so I can hear the alarms.

Effective but unreliable. Like most people here, I needed to find an alternative to the usual alarm clock. This app actually does work and does help me to get up. HOWEVER. It does have some bugs, and they are pretty significant for an app that you need to be reliable. There are times the app turns my phone volume down low-thus pretty much disabling any alarms I have set on my phone. There have also been problems with how I leave the app overnight. Am I supposed to keep it open all night? Can I lock my phone? Will it run in the background? Will other apps interfere with this one? These are things that I've tried to figure out, and still don't actually know the answers. So, this is a good idea, and is helpful, but is not the most reliable-which is too bad since the whole reason we try this app is to find a reliable way to get up on time. Hoping that with time things will get better.

Love it already! **Updated**. **Update- Dropped from 5 to 3 stars. I did love this app, but now it lets me snooze over and over no matter what the settings are. I wake up with the phone on the pillow next to me and I've been snoozing it (for 1 hr 45 mins this morning) :( Something has changed** This is only my first day to use it, but I love it already. I normally hit the snooze button for up to 2 hours with having to get up to my dresser and just can't get up. I'm awake first thing today. I used the option to take a photo of my coffee maker out in the kitchen. Because the big light was on for the original pic, my little light was not enough for a matching picture, so by the time I walked out there and had to retake the pic with the big light on, I was awake. And I set the coffee maker to auto, so I filled my cup with the fresh brewed coffee while I was there. This is a great idea for an app. The only draw back is no instructions with it, but I googled instructions for the app and found a pretty good overall review that told how to use it. Make sure you go in to the main app options as well as the ones to set alarms. And you can disable preset alarms if you are off schedule. Just swipe down on the set time and it will change to disabled or back to enabled. And you can set multiple ones, more than just the three at the bottom. Happy waking!

Does not work properly. I had high hopes for this alarm but was quite disappointed. Figuring out how to use it was very difficult. But even once I figured it out, the way it works makes no sense. If the alarm goes off while the phone is locked, which will almost certainly happen because you're asleep when it goes off, as soon as you unlock it, the alarm goes into snooze mode. The message that pops up telling you it's in snooze mode only has one button, "I'm awake," which defeats the purpose of having an app that forces you to move to prove you're awake. If you can manage to keep the alarm going and get to the screen where it counts your steps, you have to hit a button for no apparent reason before it will actually start counting. And it doesn't count your steps, it just counts down a timer as long as you are walking. It also cycles the volume from low to high over and over. Absolutely terribly experience. This is the first app I've ever regretted buying.

Gets you up but a couple bugs. I love the fact that you can pick you’re own song and how the alarm makes you get up to turn it off. It really does get me up and the alarm turns off automatically once you complete the steps. Don’t try to cheat bc it’ll catch you and make you start again. Only two problems I have. One big one. If your phone is in silent/vibrate, the alarm will NOT go off! It will only sent you a notification that vibrates. The phone must be on loud for it to go off. The other is that the song you pick is not the same song that goes off when the phone is locked. Once you open your phone then the song that was picked goes off. Besides those two things, this app is great.

Redefine sensors - applicable to 3GS?. I've only tried out the step counter alarm, but as of now, my impression of the app is, at best, a waste of time. no matter how many steps I take with AND without my phone (where I literally went downstairs twice and circled around my house), the alarm won't shut off. When walking downstairs without my phone doesn't shut it off, I brought it with me; I angled my phone so the back camera can see me taking those steps, I placed my phone in my pocket and walked another 50 steps---and I even tried to stop the app from running in the background, but to no avail. In the end I had to remove the app to shut the alarm off. Overall, it's definite that this app WILL wake you up (because you won't be able to turn it off or stop the app from running --- at least in my case) but perhaps it is better for the developers to redefine whether those that have only back cameras (3GS, specifically) and smaller sensors are applicable to the 'state of the art' sensors they so proudly talked about in the description.

SAVED ME! :). I ADORE this app. I have had trouble waking up since I was little. I just am a night owl and always hated mornings so much. I would set numerous alarms and on different machines, and I would still manage to snooze them all. It was horrible and really affecting me. This app is amazing. If you use it correctly, it can REALLY work. I have not found anything else that is effective at getting me out of bed in the morning and successfully waking me up. I love the picture option. I would recommend turning off snooze function completely. Also I wish the app was undeleteable lol. Because super tired me found that I could do that. Otherwise it is so great! Thank you!

Great app. Not once have I 'snoozed' since downloading this app. It's incredibly annoying which makes it super effective. Recommended to all.

Great app but needs easier interface !. Great App but needs a more user friendly interface ! I still sometimes set the wrong time on it which beats its purpose !

Always gets me out of bed. I have often slept through other alarms but haven't missed this one yet

Could never wake up. Genius idea and works it also knows if you're cheating your steps and starts again lol Just make sure your phone is on loud though or wont go off :)

The only alarm on my phone that actually get me out of the bed.. I love the non-stop alarm function which the only way to stop it is walk around my apartment twice. When put on two alarms in a row, you wouldn't want to go back to bed after get up twice and walked around your apartment 4 rounds, will you?

Gets me out of bed!. Needs a few adjustments.... Photo works a treat, does what it's meant too - great!! Actual step never works and ends up with app being deleted - not so great! Snooze is not 5 mins... It's 1 minute.

Most effective alarm ever made. This alarm makes sleeping in an option of the past - which means being late is a thing of the past, too! It's brutal but effective. Worth the couple of bucks by far.

It works!!. Fantastic!! Something I struggled with forever has been overcome by this annoyingly wonderful app!! I hate it at 6:30 in the morning, but to turn the "stupid" thing off, I have to walk - it gets the job done, so happy with it!! Truly a life saver :-)

Worth the couple of bucks. Great concept not 100% reliable yet even when my phone is not on silent and have the ringer as loud as possible it doesn't always go off, I still have other alarms set incase it doesn't work, but when it does its makes getting out of bed without a snooze a whole lot easier..

New user. Not what I thought it out to be, the idea is great I hope they make some improvements and I will use this everyday for the rest of my life!! Don't find alarms to be loud enough Evan with the volume turned up, and the step counter is shocking I have it set for 20 and think it takes me 40 steps to get it to disarm the alarm, if that could be improved Even so I can run through my house in the morning and capture the steps would be great, most exercise apps have a step tracker so add it to this Hope they make some small improvements and make it worth the $2.00 I payed

Brilliant!. This seems to be great! I am just hoping there is a way to prevent myself from deleting the app in order to go back to sleep (such is my determination to keep snoozing!)

I cant turn music off and no support. Created first alarm. BIG mistake. I gave access to my music library chose a song and now it wont stop playing music even after deleting created alarm. I tried to contact support and the domain is suspended. I should have known better that free apps with no subscription are going to play up on you.

It works. I am a chronic over sleeper and always hit the snooze. This alarm has changed my life and I am so glad I found it.

So far I haven't managed to cheat it. My problem is when I first wake up all I want to do is go back to sleep. Other alarms let me shut off the noise by muting my phone or have other ways I manage to cheat them while still not 100% awake. So far this one hasn't shown a weakness and sleepy me hates it.

Gets you up gentle. With music and a choice of walking amounts this app makes sure you can get up and start your day on time

Some difficulties. The fact that you can't have one time only alarms and have to remember to then turn them off is a little annoying and setting songs and tones is a little confusing at first but once you figure it out it works great.

Make sure your phone's not on silent!. The concept here is fantastic, but the apps design is a bit clunky and leaves a lot to be desired. For example, when your phone is on silent, the alarm will not sound (unlike the apple alarm and other alarm apps) so if you try to get a good nights sleep, you may never be woken by this app at your desired time!!

Best alarm!. For someone like myself who struggles to get out of bed and has a tight relationship with the snooze button this app has broken the bond!! I'm up and out of bed on the first ring of the alarm!!! Most certainly worth the few $$!

Step counting unstable.. Good idea & great execution. Sometimes not counting steps & reset the counter which annoyed me. Exp crashing but reinstall & worked okay at the moment. Don't nail my sound volume lvl unless the alarm is ringing pls okay?

Great app. Would definitely recommend. Gets you up in the morning and walking around. No easy way to disable.

Best alarm ever !!. This is the best alarm ever ! As a person who would need to set up to 6 alarms just to get out of bed! Now I get up and out of bed first time every time. Highly recommend this app.

Good!. Amazingly awesome app, but I HATE (read HATE!!!) that it auto adjusts the brightness of the iphone upon opening! I have my brightness deliberately low for a very good reason, and to have it auto brightness to 80% is actually PAINFUL for me!! Please address this in a future update!

It works for lazy head like me. Lol finally found an alarm that would work for me, the most annoying one ever, it forces you to take pic of u washing yourself to wake up

Works for me.. Turns out making we get out if bed and take steps keeps me out of bed. I recommend the number of steps that gets you to you coffee maker.

Great. The app does what it says, and really does get me out of bed- no easy feat some days. There should be room for more than 8 alarms, as a shift worker this would be really helpful. I also disapprove of holding features to ransom in a paid app to force users to write a review.

Very good. I generally don't write reviews however, this app is quite a good app, perhaps only surpassed by quiz alarm. One feature that would be handy though is to make the volume inaccessible to change until the alarm is off which is a feature I like in the aforementioned quiz alarm.

App bugged out!!!. Used this app for a year and this morning had the app bug out and come on at 5:30am even though I hadn't set it up to come on. Walked 20paces until it said deactivated and alarm stopped. Then it started again 20seconds later. This happened 10 times until i had to delete the app to stop the alarm!!!

Extremely effective!. It's only been a few days and already I hate this app less...because it works! It's easy to hate that you're forced out of bed but the outcome is brilliant - you really do have to get out of bed and start your day. I love this app!!

Finally. Been dealing with snooze syndrome for a while, now, my alarm makes me walk to put the snooze on. Then I can go back to bed and wait for the next alarm to go off !

Good but.... Few flaws, I wish you could combine with “Alarmy” it’s more ruthless. You can’t turn off the sounds or turn down the volume on alarmy because it turns it back up. So if you did that and made the walking harder to achieve or did more steps than 20 it’d be perfect. Right now I can slowly move my arm around and it’ll turn off. Or I can just turn down the volume...

Despite reviews. Despite all the positive reviews, I never got this app to work properly, even once. I made sure my phone wasn’t on silent, the the setting were correct with the volume up, and that the app was always open, but still never woke me up once. It would just vibrate for hours whilst I slept in instead of getting ready for work.

Great however.... I love this alarm, it's the only one that gets me up consistently! HOWEVER please find a way for it to go off when the phone is on silent, it's the only downfall

Amazing app, so effective. I have had this app for a long time now and I haven't been late for school since the first time I used the app!!! Highly recommended

Got me up!. Love it, Very effective this morning I woke up and tried to shake the phone to shut it up and it told me I was cheating! So I had to get up walk around for it to be quite & you can wake up to your own music that's nice 😉

Too new to review. But I have to in order to unlock a feature. Still beats paying. Hoping for no more sleeping through my alarms!

Not loud enough. The alarm on this thing is not loud enough. Also don't love the background/user interface and can't figure out how to add another alarm when one is already set. Other than that it's effective and does what it says

Bad App. This App doesn't work and isn't worth the money. Firstly you can just double click the home button and shut the app and it will cancel the alarm. Secondly the alarm barely goes off in the first place. The first time I tried it I cancelled the app and the second and third time the alarm didn't even go off. The interface is extremely difficult to use and isn't user friendly. This app has a lot of work and bugs to fix before I bother to even think of using it again. Shocking

Disappointed with this app its not worth the money. Its not what i was expecting to see. The features in the advertisement were different from the real app e.g the alarm forcing you to take pictures and also you can cheat on the app by shaking your hand it will think you are walking. I believe there is a room for improvement and I believe the intentions were good . I hope you take this critique as something you need to work on

Snooze function not working properly, alarm too loud. This app has some great features, and most of it work well: photo recognition is good, step recognition is...good (it often calls me cheating if I step too fast, ah well). Things to improve: Snooze doesn't work - if you snooze it by shaking, the alarm doesn't come back on normally again, instead it comes up as notifications which may not be loud enough to wake me so that I can activate the alarm...if you unlock ur phone to snooze it, it doesn't let you snooze=_=

Hardly used it. Had to review to change background which is done when setting up. Silly cause I have barely turned it on and used it but it forces you to review

Not too shabby. Can't work out how to have my own music as the alarm. Other than that- all good

Could use some work. The notification bubble on the app when you have an alarm active is annoying and the alarm is not persistent enough, and you can trick the sensors. It's not even remotely 'uncheatable'

Best alarm clock. Even though it is very annoying, it really is working.. Recommend everyone who struggles waking up..

Wake me up...everyday please.. I love this app and it id great at forcing me out of bed; however, I have to make sure I have backup alarms set as sometimes it simply does not go off. Sometimes it goes to the alarm screen but makes no sound, other times if I get a notification the app shuts off. Setting the alarm is not very user friendly so no efforts I make in the settings resolve this problem. Would love an update with these issues sorted.

Broke af. Simply doesn't work. At all. Tried playing with this app to get it set up and found: Trying to select your own song makes the alarm not work. Trying to use photo recognition makes the alarm not work. And then - to top it all off - the app started glitching out, requesting that I take 20 steps EVERY 2 MINUTES - . . .including while I was trying to send an error report detailing these glitches. Had to delete it from my phone because the 20 steps every 2 minutes wouldn't stop. Complete waste of $3.00. Don't bother downloading.

Wow I'm impressed. It's so hard for me to wake up and I've tried numerous apps. This one definitely does it for me. Having to walk 20 (what I've nominated) steps before my alarm switches off really forces me to wake up on time and thank god! Cause I desperately needed the help

Ok. The "steps" function is sometimes very annoying. I end up walking all over my house because apparently I'm cheating :( But otherwise it's awesome :D getting loads of morning exercise

Lifesaver. Seriously the best alarm app! I am far from a morning person and the combination of this and putting my phone away from my bed makes miracles happen!! A+++

Was fantastic until latest update!. I loved this app, but since the latest update I'm finding the alarm is not going off at the right time. I just missed a yoga class because my 6.15 alarm went off at 7am! Very odd!

Great idea yet to be perfected. Great idea yet to be perfected. "No snooze" option doesn't yet work; I can still snooze as many times as I like. It'll be great when they manage to override the mute setting. Otherwise, the program seems to run well.

Looks ok so far. I like the colours. I like the idea of it. By choosing a different colour theme it made me write a review to have access to it. Haven’t used the alarm yet.

Meh. Why does it play an alarm and then my song... Also, are alarms getting muted without my help...

First time. . I haven’t used it yet. I’ll let ya know!! 😊

Merci. 5 stars

Absolute life changer. Firstly, I have to say when I first got the app I was quite irritated by having to leave a review before using it. It was a little off-putting, considering I paid for the app. BUT, after have been using this app for a while, I am extremely happy with the results. I love this app, it does what an alarm clock is supposed to do. I love the feature that makes you have to get up and walk steps before it will shut your alarm off, gets me up and going. I now wake up super p****d off that my alarm won’t turn off until I walk. After that, I’m good to go. I was never able to wake up early, EVER. And now I do it with ease. (25 year old male)

试下. 刚开始用,试试

Good app. I think that it’s a really good app and its worth downloading🤠

Actually Works. Actually counts steps and makes you get up. Won’t let you cheat the system and shake your phone.

64 Bit!. Thank you for updating!

Great concept. Can't wait to try it

Haven’t used it yet. Hopefully it’s good!

Gud. Gud stuff

Request for Music Fade In. Hi developer. The app is very useful and creative! Just wondering if we can have a music fade in function in the alarm section? So the music won't just burst out in a sudden. Thanks!

Love this app. Never missed another alarm again!

Works. Gets me up!

Genius!. Never sleep in anymore and I’m on time for life! This app is amazing!

I like it. Don’t like when it glitches but love that it gets me out of bed when I need to.

Good. Works for me

What a hoot. Wow

Review. Apparently I have to review the app before I’m able to use it/ before I save my settings?

Just what I needed!. Helps me wake up at 6:30 Monday to Friday, it’s solid. I recommend this,

Hamont. Yeah

Had to review to use all free features. Had to review to use all free features

Review. Idk

Love it. Crazy but works!

Very Good !. Like.!

Currently trying it out. I’m trying out the app, I know for it to work you need to keep it the app open, it’s hard to say if it’s good or not, but I tried playing with the settings and still nothing that amazes me, hopefully is not a waste of money

Do it!. Worked better than any other app ive tried so far. Wake up to any song from Apple Music.

Excellent For Me. This alarm is great, and allow me to do things like reviews to access more backgrounds! Works for me!

this app is not good. this app forces you to review there application in order to use features, i still use it but it gets really annoying

Haven’t used yet.. Haven’t used yet.

Good. Well it looks good

It makes you. Read the title

Unsure. Unsure how I feel about app, as it’s asked me to review it before I actually used it. May re-evaluate after actually using it.

It’s been 4 days and the alarm has not gone off once. Luckily I’ve been setting up a back up alarm, but tonight will be the last time I try. I want this to work because I like the idea

It works. Finally I wake up on time. I like the old version better because you had the option of 30 steps. For me 20 steps are not enough!

Why does this App have to be the last running App for it to work properly?. Mail to "Support" got bounced as a not existing email address for me. I came across this App accidentally and at first it looked like an alarm that would fit my needs very well, adding some interesting features not available in Apple's Clock -> Alarm. 1) Why does this App have to be the last running App for it to work properly? Until now I had not come across any App that requires being the last running App for it to work correctly, and it seems like an odd requirement. The chances for me to have an alarm fail is extremely high with this requirement and is probably a deal breaker. Can you tell me why the App won't just work no matter if I use another App afterwords? I don't understand this. 2) How would any user know some of the ways to control its features? I had to locate your website and read about them. I saw nothing in the app that tells me I can use certain gestures to delete an alarm. That was the final thing for me that made me delete it. I could not figure out how to delete an alarm that I set up for testing. To be fair I am likely not your main demographic since I am a senior. However, I am also not a novice Device/App user and can generally figure things out, but in this case I was unable to and found that frustrating. 3) Why did the App automatically dim my screen to its lowest setting? Again, I saw nothing in the App that indicated this would happen, or why it would happen and perhaps more importantly, have a quick, visible way, such as an onscreen slider perhaps, to reset the dimmed screen to something a User could more easily see. I had to go into my Settings -> Display & Brightness to restore my screen to something that my eyes could see. I occasionally struggle with close up eyesight and had to get close to a bright light so I could see enough to restore the brightness. 4) I was completely unaware about the "footsteps and picture" feature to turn an alarm off until I looked on your website. It is quite possible some of these guides are in the App and I just could not find them, or properly understand the minimal pointers If that is the case please tell where I would find any sort of guide within the App itself. Also, many younger people might automatically think of gestures and find the solutions very quickly, however, I suspect many people do not. I think the addition of something like a quick tutorial to swipe through when the App is first opened would be a terrific addition. Back to my first point though, is there any way to remove, or otherwise avoid this App having to be the last run App for it to work correctly? The risk of missing alarms due to this requirement makes it much less useful as a powerful alarm clock I would want to switch to. As well, the only way I knew about the requirement for this to be the last run App for the alarm to work was when I eventually went to your website.

Amazing!. One of the few apps I'd happily pay for, this is probably the most annoying yet the most effective way to get up in the morning. Especially when I use guided access and I'm too disoriented to turn it off, it becomes super effective for early mornings.

Good App. Gets me out of bed

Really not the best.. The clock to set the alarm is kind of silly and impractical. I’m putting my alarm before going to bed therefore tired. The last thing I want to do is draw stupid lines on my phone to put the time. Seriously it’s a very important detail. Plus you’re supposed to walk but if you tap a lot on the button it counts it as a step. So you don’t really get up. Basically I tried this one out of curiosity and I’m going back to the other alarm app. I do like the music selection though.

It’s ok. I love when it works but sometimes it malfunctions and doesn’t go off or doesn’t make me walk. So I need to have back up alarms just in case.

Cute background. Haven’t used it yet but want to try out this theme!

Great. Great

Terrible. This app is extremely poorly designed. It doesn’t sound an alarm if your phone is on silent or do not disturb mode and even when it isn’t on those modes you have to open the app for it to go off. I even changed the notification settings which didn’t help.I set it for the first time and slept through the alarm and was late for work thanks to this poorly designed mess.

Good. Good

New. Doesn’t work if phone is on mute - doesn’t work if the app isn’t open - operates under very specific conditions- kinda useless- don’t waste ur money !

Good app. Highly recommend to anyone needing help with removing snoozing from their morning wake up routine

Somebody fix this problem!. As soon as I close out of the app it doesn’t work.... the app needs to be open in the background, I’ve sleepily picked up my phone and closed the app and that ends the alarm instead of getting up!

Awesome sauce app. I have finally conquered my snooze addictions.

A burden or a blessing?. BOTH! Haha this app works so well and does what I want it to do: get me out of bed and into this life that we only have one chance at and could come to an end at any moment. REQUEST... That would be really helpful if it went off no matter WHAT. For example, despite your mute being on On your phone, or shutting down your phone. That would be legit, and take ALL the ways of sleeping for a longer amount of time out of the picture. That is just me being a little nitpicky, this app is legit if you were having troubles getting up and a snooze hitter I would definitely recommend this app.

It's glitchy and buggy. The app does what it's supposed to do. But, it will shut down on its own sometimes. And for some stupid reason it snoozes itself as soon as the alarm goes off. Which is annoying. I've tried disabling the snooze. But it still snoozes. On its own. As soon as the alarm triggers. It's really stupid since you have to pay for it. However it does get me out of bed. I've also been able to successfully cheat the sensors multiple times. (During practice alarms) but I don't use the steps anyway for my alarm. I use a photo of my coffee pot down stairs. If you're on the fence, go the other way. Buy an app that isn't glitchy.

Poor execution, great concept. Bottom line: This app has not successfully gone off once since I purchased it about 5 days ago. I love the concept, but this app has been a total waste of money and time. First, the app is pretty to look at, but not intuitive or user friendly. It takes some time to figure out HOW to even set or delete alarms. Settings options don't make sense - what does the "Auto-lock: as default" setting do? What's the point? As other users mentioned, if the screen is locked, it will not go off. The need to press a button to make it start counting steps is unnecessary. It would be better if it started counting as soon as you start moving, since you're likely going to walk several steps before realizing to hit the button. I really want this to work because the idea is fantastic, but so far it has been a big failure for me

It used to work perfectly. So the app worked perfectly until this morning. I use the picture alarm, and two minutes after I turned it off, it went off again. I don't have snooze on and it's the only alarm I have for the whole day. I checked the settings to double check but it kept going off. Literally every two minutes the alarm kept going off and it got to the point where I couldn't even report a bug because it kept going off before I could report it. The only way I was able to get it to stop was by actually deleting the app. I really hope they fix this, it definitely helped get me up in the morning

Its a good alarm, but is there a way to manually shut it off?. The alarm does get me up and going when no other alarm could, but today i went to work earlier than usual and forgot i had an alarm set for later; it started going off when i was at work and i couldnt do what it wanted me to, so i just had to shut my phone off completely until after work, when i had to delete the app and reinstall it when i got home. It was really irritating that there was no way i could manually shut it off in case of an emergency or something like this; i had no access to my phone all day. Is there a way to do it?

Not too bad!. A few glitches, a few mornings where a combination of events has caused the alarm to not go off as expected (another app sent a notification so then this app just sent notifications too, instead of ringing like normal, because it was running in the background I guess?) but overall when it works it really works. Feature request: wake up to my music in the first place! I don't want to turn off my phone's sleep function just so I can wake up to my music. Right now I get the in-app sound, I snooze once, and then my music comes on as the app is now running. Can you change that?

Needs Instructions. My main critique is that there are no clear instructions accessible in the app directly. Ensure you set an alarm you know will work for the first few days you use the app prior to relying on the app itself. Vibrate: when you have it on vibrate, the alarm will try to wake you with buzzing until you acknowledge it and only then does it require you to perform your designated step count/picture. This did not successfully wake me up the first three times I tried it. Careful! App running in the background: though the page says it should work in the background, I've found mixed success with not having it open. This is probably user error, but there are no clear instructions so I have no reference to judge whether or not I'm using it correctly. Summary: I think this app executes its function above average, but it takes a couple of tries to get it right. Could be 5 stars with a guide.

Great concept. I have an IPhone 3GS and this alarm clock didn't work AT ALL. In the morning when my alarm went off I woke up and tried to start walking, but it wouldn't measure my steps no matter how slow I walked. I tried to use the picture method to wake me up too but it just went straight to walking, even when I clicked the "already awake" button. I deleted and redownloaded this app about three times and kept trying because once that alarm rings it doesn't stop unless you do so. It's unfortunate it didn't work for me. Especially because it seemed like a good alarm and it was the first app I actually bought. It's a great concept and as I can see from the review it works for a lot of people.

Now I can give and actual review. After my initial annoyance with the app telling me to review before I actually used it I can say I'm loving / hating this alarm. First off I was setting FOUR alarms to wake up everyday and even those I was starting to sleep through. This app WORKS. I tried to "cheat" by waving it around one morning and it detected it and punished me. Exactly what I need since I'm an "adult" that needs someone forcing me out of bed. I've recommended this app to several friends who've used it and it's working for them. Simple and more importantly, effective. If you're a chronic snoozer get this app now. You'll curse me later. *****update***** this is the 4th time this app has made me review and I'm over it. *****another update**** asking me to review AGAIN. This is ridiculous.

An Alarm Clock App That Doesn’t Have an Alarm. Frankly, this app was the most disappointing 2 dollar purchase I’ve ever made. Although the concept of an alarm in the morning that won’t go off until you walk a certain amount of steps would be extremely valuable to help me get out of bed in the morning, Step Out! version of an alarm is a notification on your Home Screen that you have to manually tap in order to trigger the alarm. In other words, the alarm does not appear to go off automatically. If you’re looking for an Apple iPhone clock app that gives alarms in the morning but has been upgraded with the addition of a certain number of steps before turning off, this app is not for you.

The original version was 100x better. I originally got this app because I constantly snooze my alarm and the original version allowed you to set a snooze limit (how many times you could snooze) which worked great. This current version no longer has that feature. The old version also had a silence bitten so you could mute the alarm while completing your steps. Crucial when you live with other people. I have tried so many times to contact support for the app in case I was missing something but even the contact doesn’t work! I always get “address not found”. I try back every now and then to see if any updates have been made or if the contact email is valid, but so far, no such luck. Apple should not allow apps to be purchased if they do not have a valid contact.

Serious volume issue. The alarm comes on at FULL volume every morning despite setting it lower on both my phone and the app volume setting itself. It is so loud my neighbors can hear it and while the alarm is playing I can’t use my phones volume buttons to turn it down still...and then to top it off the step counter isn’t sensitive enough to count the steps I’m actually taking so the extremely loud alarm plays until I have to manually close the app. I tried emailing the makers and my email failed to be delivered. I would love the app otherwise as it does get me out of bed without snoozing, but I can’t handle the inability to adjust the volume. Will be seeking a refund and looking for a different alarm app.

Worth it, great app!!!. So it's great because of the walking thing which is cool, but the reason I love it is because you can keep hitting the power button when it goes off to snooze, and then it will keep waking you up in 2 minute intervals. Also if you're already up but dot turn off the alarm, you can put your phone on silent and it'll keep doing the two minute interval alert just by vibrating once, which is great peaking out of the shower to keep track of time to get out of the house and to work. You can easily kill the app completely which voids it's entire purpose, which is why I don't use it that way. Awesome app A+

Makes you do physical activity to shut off the alarm. Highly customizable.. You can make a different type of alarm for every single day of the week. It's very intuitive and allows you to incorporate just about anything you'd like when you wake up in the morning or go to sleep at night. This is the best of all the alarms I have tried so far (almost everyone on the app store!). I love that you have to get up and walk 10 to 30 steps in order to make the alarm shut off. No more oversleeping for me!

Works but...UPDATED. 1) the Shake to snooze worked for a while and then stopped working; and now the snooze button doesn't work at all. Once the alarm goes off, the snooze button is disabled automatically for no reason. 2) the app affects the volume of my phone when it goes off and I have to readjust the volume every time afterwards. 3) try to contact the developer with the Bug Report inside the app and got a returned email saying the email address is invalid. This app is becoming very annoying because of the bugs and lack of maintenance from the developer's side. ------------------------------ 1)The Shake to Snooze function doesn't seem to work so well. 2)The app seems to keep my phone unlocked when snoozing. 3)The step counter reset several times because I was walking and waving my hands like a normal person would do, and the app thought I was cheating. I guess that's the "anti-shake" detector... Besides the flaws mentioned above, it works. I'm awake at 6:10 in the morning.

A little glitchy, but it gets me out of bed!. I've been a chronic snooze button user all my life, often I don't hear my alarm at all or turn it off in my sleep. I've tried many different alarms and this one really truly got me out of bed. The first two mornings I used it, no alarm sounded and I couldn't figure out why. It turns out that your phone cannot be on vibrate or do not disturb for this app to work. It's a little inconvenient, but still worth the glitches to me because it really works. On the third try it worked like a charm. I recommend a few test runs and a backup alarm in case something goes wrong.

Exactly what I needed. So far so good I have adhd and I'm addicted to my sleep button so this is about the best thing on the market for me thus far Positives Super loud Alarm will NOT stop once you've unlocked the phone until you have completed the steps or photo Changeable sounds/personal songs Negatives If your phone is locked it will play a lesser tone and send an alert to wake up, sometimes this won't wake me up right away so ill set an alarm on my regular clock app just to get me started but once you unlock your phone all hell breaks loose If you don't review the app certain features lock up Sometimes the picture doesn't match on the first or second try, it's very precise so be careful about taking pictures of things that might change ie. A counter top where things may move or disappear/appear. I personally use my home door from the outside and my fridge(closed) Overall I like it I've been looking for something like it for a while now and this is perfect

Gets me out of bed. It definitely works at getting me out of bed but the step count is always off. I have to walk at least twice the amount of steps to shut it off and 1 out of 4 times it says I wasn't really walking and starts over. I changed to taking a picture of something in my kitchen which seems to be working much better unless I'm not home. On two separate occasions I've been out of my house and had to leave my phone off all day because if I turned it off the alarm went off and there wasn't another way to shut it down. It works at getting me up but for a paid app it's designed poorly.

I'm awake, I'm awake!!. I actually adore this app. I am NOT a morning person so I'm not going to lie, I swore at it the first few mornings and wanted to throw my phone. BUT I slowly got acclimated to the early morning wake up and got off to a GREAT start yesterday. I went to the gym and cooked my daughter breakfast, which was my goal. The only thing I could say negative about it is that the louder alarm part of it doesn't initially go off. It does quick bursts every 20-30 seconds as a "text" almost and you push a button that sets off the alarm. If the quick bursts were louder, it would be perfection. :)

Gets me out of bed every time. I'm a notorious alarm-snoozer. This app really does get me out of bed every time. The other reviewers are right, it doesn't work if phone is locked or app isn't open; however, this is easily fixed by setting the normal alarm on the phone for the same time as Step Out. Then, when you swipe to stop the alarm, it activates Step Out and you have to start walking. This may bother some to have to use 2 alarms, but I'm using this to prevent snoozing, so I don't mind. I feel much better in the mornings now, thanks to this app!

Confusing but I like it. There aren’t any clear directions when you open up the app on how to use it and what everything does so you have to explore it on your own. Also, if your iPhone locks at all during the night closing the screen, the alarm doesn’t go off properly. When it DOES work properly this is a great app!! I can finally get out of bed in the AM and not snooze 10 times beforehand, making myself late to work. I would say set this alarm in the app and set another alarm on the regular iPhone alarm app for 10 minutes later in case this one doesn’t go off right!

The only thing that gets me awake and out of bed. I like this app. It gets me up and so far, I haven't had problems with the step sensor. I do have to take significantly more than 10, 20, or 30 steps each time though, which is kind of annoying... Also, I hate that the app changes the brightness of my entire phone every time I open it. I've also been having a hard time changing the ringtone for the alarm; every time I try to, the app crashes, so I'm stuck with the same sucky ringtone. So overall, there are definitely some very annoying kinks that need to be worked out, but the idea is solid and it gets me out of bed like no other app or alarm clock ever has.

it's very annoying.... This app is overall very helpful, but its extremely annoying in the morning. When i would like to turn down the volume of the alarm in the morning, the system takes over and makes it louder when i am already awake. Also, when i start taking my steps down to the kitchen, the sound is still playing. This is bad because I live with 5 other people who are very light sleepers. I think that there should be an option as to whether or not the sound plays when you start walking. I've deleted this app on multiple occasions, due to the lack of this feature, as it was accidentally set on the wrong morning.

The Worst. Like another reviewer said, sometimes the alarm won't go off at the assigned time, but then it will still go off when you touch your phone. Last night I set my alarm for 7. I was careful to make sure the alarm was saved and set, I didn't mute or lock my phone, and I didn't close out of the app. It didn't go off. When I picked my phone up at 8 (after getting up by myself), it went off. It's also bad at counting steps. So the alarm doesn't wake you up sometimes, it just annoys you by making noise after you've woken up on your own. I had this app about six months ago and deleted it. I tried it again hoping the bugs would be fixed, but the app still has problems. I really don't understand the why this app has such a high rating. Maybe for an older version?

It works!. I've been using this for about a week. Make sure your headphones aren't plugged in as it won't override them. I set my phone to do not disturb until a minute before the alarm as I read that it won't work with do not disturb activated, though I haven't tested it out. I don't love the music and it's not my favorite app mostly, I think, because it's working. I find it hard to wake up and this app "greets" me when I'm groggy and annoyed that I can't get out of it--it's a no excuses app. But so far, it works. I'm awake after I walk the 30 steps, albeit a bit irritated, and haven't gone back to bed after turning the alarm off.

Clever concept but confusing. I like the idea and it does wake you up but: 1) it only gives you help/settings instructions when you install it and never again. 2) it's not clear how to set it before bedtime. Do I leave it open and it will go to sleep? I've tried that and it just stays on draining the battery (competing apps go to sleep when you lay it face down). Is it required to be charging? If not, why are there auto-lock functions specifying that and what do those choices mean? 3) why does the settings panel have only a "cancel" button to return to the previous screen? How do I know my settings have "saved" if the only option is cancel? 4) the design is nice but tries to be too clever and is not intuitively laid out. Long story short, they need to add a "Help" section to give detailed instructions. Their website is useless in this regard and they've not answered my email requesting this info so I'm forced to leave a negative review. Update: it's even worse now. Won't really wake you up unless you hear the initial text or beep. THEN you have to open the app to make it work. Defeats the purpose of the app. I've emailed support probably 3 times over the past 6 months and have yet to receive a reply.

Not quite there. I was so excited about the idea of this app. On the first day, yesterday, the sensors only recognized about half my steps, which was annoying given the small size of my apartment. When I turned around after having reached a wall, it told me I was cheating. Today was the second day, and it didn't recognize any steps, either in my apartment, going down the stairs, or in my office. I turned the phone off a few times, and when I turned it back on, the app still remembered that it was time to wake up. I deleted the app to get it to turn off. I don't know why it worked the first day but not the second day. Great idea, but something is wrong with the sensors.

It actually makes me get up. I am very smart when I'm asleep and can snooze and turn off my alarms in my sleep and not even remember doing it, making me miss classes or have to skip breakfast. This app literally makes me get up. The only downfall is that I have a pretty small room and don't want to wake up others so my ten steps have to be in a circle kinda. It always tells me I'm cheating and starts my step count over. But I'm starting to just make a made dash to the bathroom and hoping I don't disturb anyone too much. Love it! Now if only it had a way to make sure I didn't get back into bed...

Helpful. This alarm actually gets me out of bed in the morning--prior attempts included a trombone played at close range, ice water, and being dragged down the stairs. So yeah, those didn't work and this app does--it's magical but you also hate it around 6 every morning. Like be careful you don't sleep with any weapons in reach because you will destroy your phone. You just will. You're so ticked off until you get out of bed and realize you actually have time to eat breakfast, finish homework, and even go the speed limit on the way to school. Crazy, right?

Can I get a refund?. A few reasons why I regret buying this app: 1. It does not work like advertised. It was advertised that I could set a timer to go to sleep and listen to my own music, which I have not been able to do. Every single time I try to play my music instead of the natural sounds, the app crashes!!! 2. You have to unlock some features by reviewing. If I pay money for an app, I expect the features that come with it to be unlocked. It is so annoying that every time I try to change the background colors, I get prompted to write a review. Well, here's your review. 3. The parts that do work, do not work well. It says that you can also set music to wake up to. When I do this on my phone clock, my alarm is the music I choose, which I like. On this app, the alarm is another sound and once I unlock my phone, my music comes on. Essentially, there are two different alarms and I do not like it. 4. I have given this app a chance but my final opinion is that it is not worth the $1.99. This morning, the alarm didn't even work. I set it for 6AM and it didn't go off until 6:30AM. I want my money back. This app has so much promise and lives up to none of it.

THANK YOU STEP OUT!. I had the hardest time waking up in the mornings for work. I would always press the snooze button and eventually turn my alarms off without even realizing. I almost lost my job because I was late so often since I wasn't waking up on time.... and then I found this app! I love how it makes you actually take the amount of steps you chose before it turns off. If you try to shake the phone & pretend you are taking steps, it knows and makes you re-start your steps! If it wasn't for this app, I wouldn't have saved my job! 😊 Highly recommend it to anyone that has the same problem I did.

DOES NOT WORK WITH OWN MUSIC. This app is great, just not when you use your own music. Whenever you have a song chosen, the alarm just sends you text messages with 1 second ringtones that only go off every minute. This does not wake me up. Your song only starts when you open the app. This needs to be fixed because a lot of people including myself love waking up to our favorite music. So the next update should really fix this. Just make it so that when the alarm goes off it plays the song you chose or one of the sample songs, then when you open the app your song starts.

Works!. I read about this app in an article by a person who shared my zombie like qualities. After a few days of battling with volume and how to set it up, all went smoothly. I use it with another app which wakes me when I'm sleeping at my lightest phase, then this one seals the deal and gets me out of bed. I've been using it about a week now, been up at 5 o'clock daily. It has completely changed my sleep and my waking up habits and I have not been rushing around late to work. I completely recommend if you're a morning zombie like me.

Wakes you up, no matter what.. Just like nearly everyone else here, I got this app because I can't seem to force myself out of bed in the mornings. I would always just turn off my alarm and then go straight back to sleep, but that isn't an option anymore. No matter what you do, this alarm will not stop until you get up and do what it says. It's absolutely perfect, and since I got this app, I haven't had a single morning where it hasn't forced me out of bed, and I am always on time for work. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Useless. It’ll go off for quietly for a few seconds in your notifications, even with the app active. I set a test alarm because my actual alarm never went off even though my volume was up and I left the app open. The test alarm didn’t have any step requirement, so when it went off I dismissed it and it just kept going off in my notifications for a few seconds over and over again. I deleted the alarm and it still kept going off, so I had to delete the entire app to get it to stop. Also, the feature for setting the alarm is whack. You have to like, draw the time you want set but by circling a clock instead of just typing in or scrolling to a number

Finally something that works!. I had such a hard time waking up in the morning for so long because I would set 5 different alarms but would just turn them off and go back to sleep. I love that this app doesn't let you turn it off unless you're out of bed because once I've walked around and gotten out of my half asleep daze, I am a lot more alert and ready to start my day. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how it turns up your brightness for you, and also how you have to have your ringer on for the alarm to sound. Overall though, the best alarm clock app I've found.

Awesome!. I have not gotten out of bed on time in at least a year or two. I have been struggling to the point my boyfriend can't even wake me up. I've used this three times so far and it's worked every time. Recommendations: make sure your sound is on! And get rid of the snoozes. It'll warm you every minute (it's in settings) to get up and once you try to silence it - it'll wake you up. Only cons: I wish that it would just start the song and keep it going until I got up. The small notifications don't get my attention as much as when the song starts.

Bug!. The first time I got this app it was awesome and it worked perfectly too! This is an awesome app for people like me who don’t like waking up but recently as soon as it rings I wake up and open my phone to take my 10 steps and as soon as my phone opens it will close and then 3 seconds later it would ring again and now for me there is no way to close it and every time I can’t do anything about it so it is just ringing continually and I can’t do anything about it so fix this bug and it would be flawless! In fact my alarm rang like 6 times when I was writing this!

Best/Worst Alarm. I've had this alarm for awhile now—first got it a few years ago in order to "help" myself wake up for an early-morning custodial job. It works so well! Too well almost. There are a couple bugs (such as the brightness changing unexpectedly) and every once in awhile I've forgotten to turn off the photo-based alarm... but I know this alarm works so I just keep coming back to it! Ugh, I've really come to hate the "Morning" alarm music though. It's the worst for sleeping in!

Great, in theory.... This app is great, in theory. God forbid you forget to turn your sound back on (I’m a teacher and keep my phone on silent all day—with the native iPhone app, that’s never been a prob—the alarm still goes off), you have Do Not Disturb on for any time of day, or you accidentally minimize the app before going to bed. No one told me these things would keep the app from working. At least—I THINK this is why the app is so spotty. It’s worked some days. Other times, i get a notification that says, “Please wake up.” The thing about alarms is that they need to be reliable. People accidentally forget to turn their sound back on or close the app bc well, we’re human—but the alarm app shouldn’t forget to wake us up, right?

New iOS upgrade. I updated my phone to the new iOS upgrade and updated my apps too. This morning my step out app worked great like it does every morning and got me out of bed and walking. After I walked 10 steps and turned the alarm off I put the phone down. 1 second later the alarm went off again!! What??? I walked 10 steps to turn it off again. 1 second later the alarm went off AGAIN!! Walked 10 steps and disabled the alarm again. 1 second later the alarm went off AGAIN!!! Walked 10 steps and the deleted the app. I don't see myself adding the app again soon even though I liked it and it worked well until today. I don't want to deal with that daily.

Gets me out of bed and going!. I have an incredibly difficult time getting out of bed. However, this app helps me get on my feet. It won't stop ringing until I take 30 steps, and you can't cheat. However, these "steps" don't appear to match up with my own steps, but are rather a clever timer that only activates when I move. I don't mind this because it just forces me to move for longer. My only complaint is you must have your phone's ringer on for the alarm to work. If your phone is on silent, the alarm will only buzz once every few minutes, making it easy to ignore.

Love it. The app does what it's supposed to. I would give it a 5 star rating if it was more reliable with ringing when the screen is locked. If the app is open in the background, you just get a notification on the screen with no sound until you unlock the phone. What I do is set an alarm through the apple clock around the same time that the Step Out! alarm rings so that the phone is unlocked or so that I am forced to unlock it. The app would be perfect if it were able to ring like the apple clock regardless of screen lock status. Along with the regular alarm clock, it does indeed get me out of bed!

Way too easy to silence. You can silence it by silencing your phone. It's not really unstoppable, which doesn't make it better than any other alarm. They need to find a way to make this thing work also when your phone is on silence or in do not disturb mode. It's easy to forget your phone in do not disturb mode, and not wake up. The ironic thing is when your phone is on silence, and you happen to wake up by chance, when you start walking around the alarm gets louder to wake up everyone else in the apt. In addition, the sensors for the steps are not good, they are easily fooled. It kind of works, but nothing special compared to any other alarm clock. If I'm using this alarm, I always use my phone's alarm as well, in case this one messes up.

So far... So good. I wish there was a volume option instead of the app always reaching the highest level possible. Although my problem is staying awake, I personally am able to wake up with my regular phone alarm volume at medium and the fact that the app just goes to the loudest level every time is a bit annoying. (If there is an option to change, please let me know or possibly adjust the settings to make it easier to understand for some users?) Other than that, I think the app is very unique and does exactly what it advertises: to get you out of bed.

The best! (Was).. I am a heavy sleeper and a huge fan of the snooze button. I've had this alarm for 2 years and haven't overslept once (except on the rare occasion that I forget to make sure my ringer is on - would be helpful if this app could access the sound even with the ringer on silent or vibrate). This alarm rocks, 5 stars!! Edit - new version is 4 stars. UI is horrible now. Can no longer set the clock by typing in the time, you must draw on a clock and hope it gets the right time. Old feature used to show when the next alarm was set on main screen, for example "6:30am tomorrow." Hopefully some changes are made soon.

Don't waste your money. This app is GARBAGE. I purchased because it had some many ratings despite the mixed reviews, but all the bad reviews are spot on. I followed all instructions (do not disturb off, ringer on, etc) and this thing simply didn't go off when it should have. I got a few lousy texts, but nothing else to wake me up. Thankfully I set a backup, but was still catastrophically late, which totally caused a really unfortunate chain of events in my day, not specifically related to this app, but had it delivered on its promise things sure would have turned out different. Untrustworthy waste of money. Why build an app if it's unreliable? These developers should just go back to flipping burgers and leave the heavy lifting to the experts. What a joke.

So confusing. It's day three of using this alarm and I've slept in twice. Do not use the snooze function. It doesn't work. The volume is sometimes too low so i just sleep through it. It even seems to change on it's own. I just did a test alarm now. I made sure in options that the alarm sound was at full volume and that there was no snooze. When it was due to go off, i got an iphone notification at the top of my screen asking me to please get up. I waited a few minutes. There was no loud birdsong alarm until i manually navigated to the app to open it. I didn't feel like stepping the 10 steps so i just double clicked my home screen and swiped the app up and away to close it out. I just opened the app again and the test alarm is disabled. This app is junk and i want my money back so i can go buy a better one.

Worth it. I'm a huge snoozer. It has gotten to the point that I set an alarm deliberately an hour ahead to combat my horrible habit. I love that this app forces me out of bed to turn it off. It has helped me not go back to sleep. My one issue with it however is that it can be silenced for a minute by clicking the volume buttons. Furthermore the alarm sound is not annoying enough for me to care if it is going off. If you are bothered by the alarm sounds this app will help immensely. If you are like me, it might take some creativity to find a way to stop these loopholes,

If waking up is your problem- not hitting snooze-don't buy. I bought it a few days ago and I still haven't woken up from it. I'll open the app later in the day and the alarm won't go off until I walk.... super annoying so I have to be careful where I am when I open the app. This morning I finally set my phone alarm, so I woke up when it went off and for the first few minutes of going off it plays the QUIETEST music!!! And then once you open the app to start stepping it turns the volume all the way up on you uncontrollably! Why??? I would think to wake you up it would get louder until you opened the app and then get quieter as you walked. Plus, if you have people in the house like I do, walking with the alarm blasting that loud is just obnoxious to everyone else. Deleted.
