Disappointed. I bought this hoping to save some time. Would’ve been easier to just unzip files from my Dropbox via this app on my iPad Pro and avoid having to get on my desktop... but every time I try to unzip a folder it fails. Wasted $5.

Used to Be Great. Won’t upload files to dropbox, last year or so. It’s taken three months for the ticket to reach level three, but it’s crickets now. There have been no updates in a year, obviously it’s not working without them…

Don’t Buy. I can’t Delete anything after only 2 weeks it just stopped working it’s just like the free version I deleted when I bought this weeks ago.

Sense of Security. The WinZip app has done great by me. It is the only way I’ve found to encrypt and decrypt zipped files in iOS, which gives me a sense of security when transferring data that I don’t want out there on the wire in plain text. I used the trial version to see how it fit my workflows before I decided to pay for it - great way to NOT end writing about how you lost your money... (I wish Vegas worked the same way!)

Rename files and change file extension. I do a lot of extracting on my iPhone 8+, but I extract with a lot of different file types, such as a deb. With other apps, I just rename the dev to a rar and extract it. I can’t with this app, and I paid $5 for this. Not ruining, but annoying.

WinZip #1 encryption and file systems. I have not seen anything yet that can compete with a file storage and encryption application.

Not reliable !!. Downloaded and paid for this app and it doesn’t open up half my documents. There’s days when it does and days when it doesn’t. Not worth the download, save your money !

Kind of does what you want. Hard to navigate and clunky gui. Maximum file size to upload off device is 1024MB regardless of what the upload size to that service actually is. No zipping of videos. No large thumbnails means you have to upload by name; im using an iPad Pro 9.7 and cant effectively use the thumbnails to choose photos for the zip. Really misses the mark for a program i knew to be “no nonsense” since the 90s...

Not Happy. I purchased this app for one reason and that was to unzip SVG files. Don’t waste your time and money if that’s what you are wanting to do. It doesn’t unzip or open SVG files. 😩

This app is a scam. This app is an absolute scam. It does not do what it says to be doing.

Didn’t work at all. I downloaded this to try to unzip files for my iPhone. Didn’t work at all, I’m very disappointed and wish I hadn’t wasted my money.

Made my ipad unuseable. Remembered WinZip being reliable back in the day. I bought the pro version and as soon as I opened it everything was crashing on my ipad. I couldn't even open settings without first restarting the ipad. As soon as I uninstalled WinZip the problem was fixed. This is a junk app.

Needs option to rename a file. In general, this app does what I want it to do. But a rename option would make the app worthy of 5 stars.

Crap. I just paid 4.99 for this app, And it don’t work ! I’ve tried getting app support but that won’t open, keeps telling me there’s an error, how do I get a refund

Good App, Needs bugs fixed. This app does what I need it to which is to password protect files before emailing them. It has some bugs though. If I leave the app before finishing zipping some files together, the menu at the bottom of the app no longer works when I return to the app. I then need to kill the app and restart it.

Learning To Live With It. Seemed buggy at first, but after you learn its limitations (like 1 GB uploading, no renaming option), and get used to the UI it seems to be working pretty well. I also experienced several failures unzipping multiple pics to Google Drive until I switched from cellular data to WiFi, which ordinarily isn’t necessary.

Waste. Not even open 1/3 of my music, garbage.

Horrible. Purchased a set of books as a .pdf that I could only download once as part of the terms of purchase. Once on my phone, this program would not unzip the file nor would it allow me to email or transfer files to my cloud storage as well. When I tried to transfer to Google Drive it said it was uploading but never did. This program cost me a lot of money! I have a file on my phone that I can do nothing with!!!

Built-in help worthless, and can't access SMB shares. App is unable to connect to Windows 10 file shares on my home network, while all other apps (FE File Explorer, etc) are able to do so. The app's built in "help" is a mobile web page that loads inside a frame (least effort possible), and it's just a giant FAQ that doesn't discuss this issue at all. And if I click on the link at the bottom of the page to rate the page as "unhelpful", that does nothing. All I want to do is unzip a file sitting on a normal Windows 10 file share; this should be easy, but this appears unable to do it at all.

Poorly designed UI makes using this app a frustrating experience. It will do what you need to but it will take time to get used to the workflow which is awkwardly set up. The design of the app in general is pretty awful, with menus working very differently from what iOS users are used to. After years of using it and not seeing any improvement, I have to say I regret buying this app. It needs a complete overhaul.

Password Protection NOT Working on iPad 2 iOS 9. I hate Apple. There are no easy workarounds with problems like this. No more Apple devices for me.

Dropbox no longer opens. Since I upgraded to iOS 11 I can no longer open Dropbox files through this app. Please fix ASAP as I NEED this functionality weekly.

Disappointing. This app won’t unzip anything I have tried so far including WinZip encrypted documents or SVG files. It refers you to an outside website that recommends you purchase another app to open. Waste of 5 bucks, save your money if you have iPhone or iPad.

Decent little App. The program works as advertised. I use it at home. I have no experience with big commercial programs or very large files. But for home use it has worked great.

Awesome. The interface is hard to get used to but it’s not impossible to figure out. I couldn’t bring myself to trust the other questionable app vendors for compression software. I want my money back. Doesn't work with google drive. Error 403.

No video playback. Seems the video playback from within a ZIP is broken on the current version. Running iOS 13.2.

Useful, Not Pretty. This app doesn’t appear to be fairing too well in the ratings department, which is a bit of a shame because it is useful, unzipping files to local or cloud locations. What it isn’t, in my opinion, is pretty. It has no ability to customise the interface and the layout is a little “old fashioned” and unimaginative. That doesn’t decrease its utility, though. Thanks to the WnZip team for making this app available. Maybe in the future you can turn your attention to the app’s UI? —November 2019 Update— Apparently dark mode support is now available. There was a tip indicating how to enable it when I started the app but I didn’t pay enough attention to it. Once in the app the setting has proven elusive and there is nothing in the FAQ or user manual about it. Still useful, still ugly.

NOT WORTH IT. CANT OPEN IN OTHER APPS

Can’t zip a whole folder. ...lame. Free version will unzip anything. But I only paid $8 to zip a folder. Which is usually when one wants to zip something. 😐

Desktop zip capability with some minor usability hurdles. You can zip in several formats and encrypt as well. The major gripe I have though is it's not straight forward (or even possible?) to add multiple files such as photos to the same zip. If this was addressed I'd rate 5 stars on my current experience.

Might be good if I could use it. Constant crashing when trying to link to google drive, have yet to be able to actually use

Don't waste your money. I bought this app so I could email a PDF out of a zip file to myself. Apparently WINZIP doesn't like this and keeps zipping the PDF file, I've found better apps elsewhere that allow me to do this.

Less than useless. Using iCloud there is no way to do multiple select, life is too short.

CAN zip a whole folder. One reviewer said you can't zip a whole folder, but you CAN. Just click on the little down arrow to the right of the folder name and then choose Zip. It works just like zipping a file.

Doesn't work with Onedrive for Business. Not worth it. Same functionality as free version if you use Onedrive for Business.

Horrible. Zips up fine, but doesn't send email and doesn't allow to open-in an app that could do a better job.

WinZip. I've used this app for years on PC and MAC. On my MAC more since my main computer is MAC. I love how you can view the archive and pick and choose what I need without having to wait and unzip all what a pain! This way I can view separate files and pick what I need update them or whatever. Then close without all the uncompressing. I tried so many others and they can do this as user friendly. Another one is once password protected encrypted I can open enter password view it close it and not have unzipped another version lying around that could be viewed by unknowing eyes.

Downloaded zip files. This tool generally works good but for whatever reason it cannot access Google drive or my Download file directory on my iPad Pro. Using latest IPad IOS, on my iPad Pro.

Very nice UI and workflow. Zips and unzips files and folders, supports passwords, shares with Dropbox and sets up an in-phone content directory.

Voiceover accessibility broken. I am a totally blind user, and I use Apple's built-in Voiceover screenreader on my iPad. I have been using the WinZip app since October of last year, and until the latest update, the app was, although not fully accessible, usable for the most part with Voiceover. Accessibility and usability with Voiceover has been completely broken as of the latest update. Please make the app fully accessible with Voiceover!

Disappointed. Got the free app to view some video files that were zipped. Try to view them and did not work properly. Bought the paid app hoping it would fix the issue and still it didn't play my videos. Just the sound. Hopefully they fix the issue or give me a refund...

Not so good for pictures. While this app does what it says, there is no way to save multiple photos to the camera roll! You have to view and then save then acknowledge an "ok" for every picture in a zip file! While doing this for a 32 picture zip I had received I finally gave up, and went to my PC to do it!

Will not play .mp3 files anymore. Great app - other than the fact that I can't play MP3 files from my google drive account anymore (which was the reason why I upgraded). The app will open a MP3 file just fine but no sound will come out of the speakers when it plays. Please fix this issue and I will change my rating to five stars.

Great for Security. A way to have all Docs on your iPhone securely Encrypted; Unlike most apps (which includes PDF Expert & other PDF apps; this app doesn't store the encryption key in iPhones memory, making WinZip much more secure. If you read the short Doc manual, you won't have any problems with this app. All of the people who gave this fine app low ratings obviously didn't read.

Could be a great app. This app has the makings of being a great app and let's u store your data in various places. However learning it is difficult because it's not intuitive and the instructions aren't easy available. Once you've learned how to I've open and store your files in folders then you're glad u took the time to master it. However I've got win zip on my laptop and it works differently. Bummer

This version is TERRIBLE -- Don't waste you money. I tried to unzip a very standard folder with some not especially large PDF files. Nothing. I pressed on the file that was emailed to me and chose to open it it this app. The app o-ended but the files where nowhere to be found. I had to wait until I got to a real computer and the unzipping them was a snap. Shame on the developers of this app. And Apple continues to try to convince people that the iPad is a computer replacement. Not with utilities like this. Get a clue.

Doesn't Work. I can't get this program to work at all. It doesn't come up as an option to open a file and has no way to put files in the folder to zip them. Complete waste of money.

Another security fail.. Tally-up another security fail for this development team. First, the app only allowed an 8 character maximum password for file encryption (fixed). Then, they built the app using a trojan version of XCode (also fixed). Now, they've added the ability to password protect your files within WinZip. BUT... That password can only be 4 numbers (not more or less than 4, and no letters or special characters). My 10-year old nephew can crack that in an hour! At a minimum they should use a 6-digit PIN so my nephew would need a week instead of an hour. Better yet, also introduce an increasing time delay between incorrect guesses that resets every day. Then my nephew would need years to guess your PIN.

You don't know about WinZip?. By now everyone should know,. This app doesn't even need reviews,. It's an absolute necessity to have this App for most power users. Make it even better by buying the "Full" Version,. And support the awesome team that brought this to iOS.

Five Stars Because It Does What I Expected. First I tried a different highly rated zip (yellow folder icon) app that couldn't create zip files while on Dropbox. That seemed pretty basic. WinZip allows you to view contents within a zipped file, create folders, add files and zip files that are on Dropbox. This is all I needed and it works as advertised. Not sure why the other review is a 1 star but this app works. Plus WinZip is a trusted name.

Are You Kidding?. I do not understand how to use this app. I have the pro version on my iPhone 5s, IOS 8. I am not a novice app user and believe my eyeglasses still allow me to see well. So, why can't I see any of the features listed for Winzip pro? There are absolutely no options, buttons or settings available to: - compress individual videos for emailing - individually select photos into customizable groups for emailing. This is just an example of what I discovered today. The list of problems is surely greater. Furthermore, the help topics and user guide offer instructions leading to non-existing options. It's like the solutions listed belong to an entirely different program. It's hard to believe WinZip, a long running, trusted software company would soil their good reputation by developing, releasing AND selling this flawed, correction, completely lame, F.U.B.A.R'd app! What's wrong with you people?

M.N.. Well, I didn't have a clue that some things would require them to be used in such a way. So far everything that I have run into, I have been able to open. Anyhow, I'm a bit of a novice, but it works for me. Still, I'm happy with this version, 'till the time when I can upgrade to a newer machine. Works well for me.

Can't open or unzip files...?. For some reason WinZip does not recognize files that have foreign characters (like Japanese) in the file name. For instance, an .mp3 file with English characters in the name will open but a .mp3 with Japanese characters in the name won't. I tried to use the option to open the file in another app but it does not function if file names are like this. Also tried to unzip the whole .rar or .zip file but those files are omitted in the unzipping process.

Great App!. Great app for small bucks. Easy to use, flexible and has significantly reduced the time I spend imaging.

Don't buy this for iOS 9 until they fix it!. Since upgrading to iOS 9, the Winzip app has become almost non-functional. It only works now on very small files. It totally locks up on zip and upzip for larger zip files. Under iOS 8 it was 4-5 stars. Now is a zero until it is fixed.

WINZIP Works. Winzip works well for me. I can zip photos and/or files, and then attach them to email easily. I can also encrypt those files with a password. It does the job it was designed to do. I have no complaints.

Disappointment. I am a model and cannot open my files needed for my job. This app is very hard to understand, even after reading through instructions on how to do things. Don't waste $5 on this undeveloped App.

Crashes after upgrade. I bought the full program , used it extensively and relied on it in my work. It worked flawlessly until the new upgrade. Now it won't let me open my files in bookshelf. Until this upgrade I would give it 5 Stars

What a waste!. I've used WinZip on Windows for years, and it worked well. That said, DO NOT BUY THIS APP! I bought the full version thinking it would fully implement AES 256. I was wrong. They limit you to 8 characters for your password. In deference to an earlier post that said it would take a Cray (super computer) 30 seconds to crack it. I'm sorry. I teach this subject. It would take less than 1/100th of a second on any decent PC/Mac with the right cards and software. You aren't reasonably secure until you are using 14 characters or more. This make this app worthless! DON'T BUY!!!

Is there a refund option. I can't unzip. I feel like I paid for something that is completely broken. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to see if they can possible fix the issues

Extremely useful! Love this app!. Have Dropbox? Use winzip to zip and send from your phone. Have docs somewhere but where? Again use winzip. Love it!

Does more than I thought it would. I rely on unzip utilities very much to open email attachments, but a utility that unzips, zips, and supports ZIPX files? Wonderful! WinZip is indeed the golden standard in compression utilities for Windows and they have to work hard to become the golden standard for iOS. For the look of things, they're on the right path.

Works well when it doesn't crash.. It works well when it doesn't crash all the time but right not it's having problems and keeps crashing on me. The problem is that it is not gracefully dealing with photos that I deleted in apple photos while the winzip app was in it.

Works great for me!. I needed this for my grad school class and had to download and use this app while listening to a lecture. It worked great!! If anyone is having trouble they should contact the developer. Don't just complain, get it working.

Missing Basic Features. The inability to rename a file makes this app all but useless to me, such a basic and common feature so overlooked is beyond me. A standard feature request dating back over 2 years with no improvement. Purchased, downloaded and then deleted.

Crashes So Often It's Almost Useless. This app frequently freezes, especially when there are a lot of files in it. When it freezes, it freezes the entire iPad about 75% of the time and requires rebooting which takes a long time. Even without crashing, once the app is launched, it takes a VERY long time for it to finally run. Normally 5-10 minutes to start. And when using it, it also frequently crashes.

Paid for full version got XCode Ghost. Sad when a consumer pays for a product, and the company providing the product uses "fake" Apple coding they could have gotten from Apple directly very easily. I would rate 0 stars due to not saying what exactly was wrong with the app and only "fixing" it if it's actually fixed. I will be removing myself from WinZip and there parent company/affiliates customer base.

Crashes can zip files or folders. I just bought this app (expensive) and can't use it. Keeps crashing while trying to zip a folder on DropBox. This is the only reason I bought this app.

Very well done app!. The app is intuitive and self-explanatory --- very well built. One request: have a "select all" option when viewing your album.

Could be so much better. This app could be so much better. You can make a folder, but you can't see what's inside. You can't rename a folder or anything for that matter. It is not clear what's inside the zip because you can't view it.

problems with app - I just bought it. Just bought this app for my ipad and iphone. won't work on either. When I send the zip file to the app, the files shows up, when I click on unzip, it says success - but there's no file! Tried to contact developer support and safari says it can't find them. Same thing when I click on developer website. I'm sure this works but there's no way to get help to figure it out. would be glad to change rating if I could get some assistance.

BIG waste if money!. I'm sad to say that I Even payed a cent towards this app. The instructions aren't clear, and I can't even unzip a zipped file, though I know that it's possible because the instructions say that a .7z file can be unzipped. I'm tired of wasting my time on this, and to save yourself, don't waste your money.

Does the job. Leave it to the pros like WinZip to make the mobile world a lot better.

Gets the job done. This app does exactly what it's supposed to and more. My favorite aspect of this application is how simple and clean the layout is. I tried out many of the other apps and this one is the best overall. I would like to have the ability to rename and have more organization capabilities of files within the app, as a suggestion. My one complaint is that the resolution of PDFs is finicky, in that sometimes parts of the document appear low res and will not clear up. That is a seldom occurrence though.

iPhone 5S v8.1 (stock). 5 🌟 ! NO ISSUES! No crashes and I can log in to my Cloud's w/o incident! I'm sorry the rest of you are having a neurological problem. The App … is fine! I will update my report, if I find a problem! ~Scootch~

Solid utility. So far has been pretty solid. One of the few practical ways available on iOS to encrypt your files with AES without spending lots of money or getting into special cloud services. Need to add a visual indicator of type of compression used, while compressing (e.g. is encryption on or off ?)

Works perfectly. I use this app to unzip everything on my iPhone and on my iPad Air. Love it!

Update:Needs "Open in" option 1)App needs visual progress bars of each file when being uploaded to cloud instead of: "Please Wait" backgrounding app uploading support is needes too, 7 out of 11 of my audio files uploaded to cloud after closing the app, i don't have enough time in the day to sit on a screen and please wait, it defeats the purpose of having a smart phone device to multi task 2) Ability to rename files

Waste of your time.. Don't waste your time/money. It won't open zipped audio files so don't even try that, and although I haven't tried opening other types of files, from the looks of the comments, it seems like that won't work either. Spent $5 just to delete this app. Don't waste your money.

Great app, even better support. I get a lot of zip files for work, and this app has been useful. I was having difficulty with some files not opening. I submitted a question through their site, and I had an answer in less than an hour that solved the problem. Great to see that kind of support. The issue was that Mail won't recognize files with extra dots in the file name as zip files. I changed the file names and all is well.

BS my files did not transfer to the new full version I bought. This is BS. THERE IS NO PHONE SUPPORT FOR WINZIP, I DONT HAVE 24 hrs TO WAIT FOR A reply TO AN EMAIL. I NEED MY QUESTION ANSWERED ** NOW***. My file is not in the new full version I paid for. It's should be automatic or at least explain how to do to get your current files into the new version. Pretty much useless. I downloaded so I could open up some files that recommended this app! I couldn't figure out how to use the app so therefore couldn't download or open the file so this was a huge waste of 5 bucks!

Since installing this app I have received nothing but harassment and spam. I install the app about a month and a half ago and have been receiving harassing emails that I have outstanding order invoices . This is untrue and even deleting the app has not put a stop to the troubling emails... I don't know if my information was sold or if this is related to identify thief.
