Great app. I’ve used this app with 3 kids all breastfed until they were almost 2 yrs old. It has come in so handy many times.

Lacking detail. I’m a Lactation Counselor and this app shows risk factors but does not clarify some types of risks. Drug safety is shown in regards to the safety of the breastfeeding infant however it is known that allergy medications and many cold and flu medications temporarily dry out a mothers milk supply. It is rather important information for mothers to know this! Don’t you think? If a mother has the flu and takes medicine and on top of fighting her illness she can’t feed her crying baby! Could you imagine the stress and harm this causes! This is careless.

Doesn’t work. I downloaded the app and paid for the subscription but when I clicked on any of the categories it said no data was loaded. So I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and then when I went to log in (the the subscription I already paid for) it said I don’t have an account. And of course there’s no way to contact anyone for customer support.

A Mom Essential. This app has been amazing through my TEN years of nursing and pregnancy! I recommend it every new mom. The hotline has also been helpful at some very stressful times.

Must have for breastfeeding mothers. I'm so excited about this app! It's a lot more user friendly for mothers than LactMed and I can't wait to use the barcode scanner. Thank you Dr. Hale!

New update big problem but fixed with re-install. Update: I removed and then re-installed the app and it works well again. So thankful as I use this very frequently. This is my “go to” app for pregnancy and breastfeeding safety and patient counseling. Now the app doesn’t work at all. Nothing loads and I have been unable to use it. Very frustrating. Please fix it.

Made my card get blocked for fraud. Said they only wanted 2 something for research purposes but then tried to charge my card $64 causing it to block due to fraudulent activity and now I have to wait 2 weeks for a new card.

Keep getting an error while trying to use. Anytime I click on something I get an error saying “internet connection error. Unable to detect an internet connection. Verify you are connected to the internet and try again.” Even though I am connected to the internet. I tried my wifi and my phones cellular data and keep getting this message. I pay for this app every year and haven’t had this happen before. Is there a known way to fix this error?

Disappointed. Really disappointed in this app. It’s super glitchy and doesn’t have the medicine and vitamins I wanted to look up when I first downloaded it. I’m okay with the clunkiness of searching for things, but just really disappointed it doesn’t have everything.

Does not work. Will not even let me sign up…. It just keep loading and never processed the registration.

Just a floor nurse. I am only a floor nurse. This app makes me so excited!! No more searching for the answer I need in drug guides. No more calling pharmacy. No more calling the sweet ladies in OB! I can get those answers quickly, and all on my own now. Thanks Dr. Hale! Sincerely- A med/surg nurse :)

Very frustrating experience; glitch on top of glitch. Tried to buy this app at the recommendation of a co-worker. (We work in lactation services) i was never able to successfully download it after being forced into also purchasing infant risk subscription. I was instructed to then go set up an account which i was unable to do. I have no idea if or how many times i may have been charged for this. I cannot use it and am working to try to get it removed and my money back.

Migraine meds. Don’t waste your money. Every possible option says they don’t know the risk. I’m mad I wasted my money on this app. Disappointed.

New 3.0 update. Since my app has updated, it does not work! Anytime I click on anything, it does nothing except stay on the main page. The previous version was quick, reliable, and easy to get information on medications. Now this app is useless! I hope they fix it soon!

Excellent research based app. As a doctor I field questions constantly about the safety of various drugs during pregnancy and breast-feeding. I often refer patients to look at InfantRisk and Motherrisk's website but it's not the easiest for simple searches. This app puts the same database of info in an easy to find and understand format. Highly recommended!

Not working and paid for subscription. The app is not working for me. I keeping getting a message “internet connection error.” I tried turning my wifi off and back on and still not working. I tried deleting and redownloading and now it won’t even let me log in—I get the same error message.

Pregnant AND Breastfeeding. When setting up the app, I was disappointed that you had to choose: pregnant, breastfeeding, or neither. Why not both? Also, why would you need the app if the answer is neither? I do love that once you enter a medication, it shows each trimester of pregnancy and each stage of breastfeeding!

Review. I purchased the app on my phone and cannot even sign in. I can’t register my account anywhere online or on the app, I can’t sign in using the email address used to purchase the app. It continues to tell me account not recognized even though I have paid for the app. No where to register account, claim account or anything just sign in and no additional way to sign in.

Completely useless. Gives no useful information on any meds and horrible, time consuming interface. All users need is a list or safe medications to take while pregnant. Instead this app lists all medications with no quick filter for safe or unsafe so you have to read through every one. Hello, that’s the same thing as the internet. Even after clinking a bunch of them, you find 99% tell you nothing useful. They might have some noncommittal label like “no way to rule out harm to fetus”. I got the app for actual answers and they are so scared of saying the wrong thing that it says nothing. No value at all in this app.

Won’t let me create an account. This app was recommended to me, & I downloaded it. Evidently there is a new subscription feature that requires creating an account & paying $3.99 yearly. I tried to subscribe & nothing happened. It must be some sort of glitch. It won’t let me use the app without an account, & I can’t finish creating the account without a subscription. If they will fix the glitch, maybe I could actually use the app!

Good information but cumbersome. Good to have info about meds at my fingertips when pregnant. It's a bit frustrating, though, to wade through the enormous list of drugs for a condition to see which one I can take. Would be helpful if I could sort them or filter them for ones that are safe for my condition.

Glitchy and Useless. This app doesn't tell you anything additional about the medications. Google would be much better and free. Also it wouldn't even register my baby's birthday. No matter what I put it said my child was 12+months. The screens will freeze and then nothing will show up under the medication pages. I've deleted it and re-downloaded it twice and no different. Totally not worth the money! Do not download.

Awful Update!. I used to love this app. I used it all the time and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. This new update ruined the app for me. I am writing this review before I delete it. Nothing loads and you can’t look up anything. It’s impossible to navigate. It so sad they ruined such a good app that brought me and so many other moms peace of mind.

Must-have app!. I also wish I'd downloaded this sooner- so convenient, and great comfort knowing the ratings come from a great research group. Much more trustworthy (and easy) than doing your own internet searches about safety. Also, there's a lot of healthcare providers who simply don't know if medications are safe, so they just tell you to "pump and dump" or even quit breastfeeding when neither is required for baby's safety and makes breastfeeding a greater challenge for us moms. Great resource, easy to use and understand, highly recommend!

MommyMeds. Great app for first time moms ! Helps a lot with what and what NOT to take while breastfeeding! Good info and easy to search !

Can’t reset password. I’ve tried 10 plus times to get a password reset sent to my email. never comes. i use this app for school and personal use so it’s really frustrating i paid for a year and i can’t access it.

Ehh. Hasn’t been super helpful yet as most medications are listed as “unknown risk”. Could have stuck with Google instead of paying the $4.

It’s not actually free. Free download but says it costs 3.99 as soon as you open the app. Make it cost 3.99 to begin with then instead of making it seem free when it isn’t. False advertising.

Pregnant and nursing mothers NEED this app.. I often suffered in silence during my pregnancy/ early postpartum because I was so nervous about what I was taking in and how it’d affect my baby. Google results will literally return anything that coincides with your search, so it was nearly impossible to get straight answers sometimes. This app did away with my medication anxiety completely. It provides study data on so many medications I thought I couldn’t take and tells me exactly whether or not I can take it. It’s great!

Not very user friendly. Overall not a very user friendly app. I’m breastfeeding and don’t care if something safe for pregnancy or not, but when I go to my bookmarked drugs, it shows one icon of whether it’s safe in the first trimester or not. So in my bookmarks, I’ve got a big red X next to some of my drugs that are safe for breastfeeding. The app doesn’t take up the full screen on my iPhone. Makes me feel like this is a really old app that hasn’t been updated since the new iPhones. I don’t want an app that’s never updating to tell me what’s safe for my baby. If you accidentally open the camera to scan, it won’t let you go back so you’ve gotta shut down the whole app.

Paid and doesn’t work. I paid for a year subscription and it won’t allow me to create an account. Ive deleted the app, re-downloaded and it still won’t work. Ive reached out to support for assistance and never received a reply.

App Not Funtional. I purchased this app by recommendation of a website. Mind you, this app is not free and it is almost totally un-usable. It glitches more times than not, you can’t find what your looking for, the buttons on the top and bottom of the screen are not accessible as they run off the page, so it was a complete waste of a purchase and subscription. Save yourself the time and headache and go to a different app.

New update ruins app. I love this app and it has an incredible amount of really useful information that is not easy to find elsewhere. However, this new update is awful. None of the medications load so I can’t even use the app for its intended purpose. If I click on anything at all, the app gets stuck on a load screen. Please fix this!

MommyMeds is a Great Investment. Being pregnant for the first time is scary enough without having to worry about if your medicine is safe to take or not. I trust MommyMeds to give me the most recent information regarding the safety various medications. I love that MommyMeds is also customizable based on the trimester of pregnancy. By using this app I learned that Ibuprofen can cause birth defects if used during pregnancy but may be safe for use by a breastfeeding mother after the baby is born. This is invaluable information that all mothers need to have access to!

Delete the app & reinstall. After the most recent update, the app no longer works. I cannot check any medications or anything at all. I’ll update my review if this is ever fixed but for now don’t downloaded this app Update! If you delete and reinstall the app it works better than ever!

Design, missing some data. Overall design is a little cumbersome to utilize. There isn’t much data on certain medications in the app despite there being tons of studies on their use in pregnancy. So I end up wading through a bunch of PubMed articles despite buying this app. Also, it is sometimes difficult to search for meds- like propranolol (very commonly used) isn’t even on there. A little weird. It wasn’t expensive to buy, I just don’t find it useful and will instead be using Epocrates or PubMed.

Wish I'd found it sooner. I've been nursing babies for 4 years straight. Trying to figure out if I could take a med in the wee hours I bought this app and wish I had known about it sooner. I normally call my ped to verify meds I take which works well, but not after hours and a lot of other sites/apps do not have the data base this site has as well as the simplicity of figuring out safety. Dr. Hale is THE go-to in this field and knowing this app is based off his research makes it easy for me to trust.

Great update... once you reinstall it. The app got super glitchy when it changed. Once I reinstalled it and restarted my phone, that is!

No explanations. Feel like I’m just as confused and without answers as I was before paying for this app. I can’t figure out what the icons and L’s mean to try and make an educated decision.

Login doesn’t work. I paid but it says my id doesn’t exist. There’s no one to contact or any help button. Apple won’t give a refund. Is this a scam?

needs an update. While I find this app very useful, it crashes often, endlessly loads and at time says it doesn't have a common drug in its database. I'll try to look it up later and it will suddenly be there. Looks like the last update was 9 months ago and I really think it could use some work!

Doesn’t work. I’m currently sick and pumping while my sim is in the NICU. I was referred to this app by my levitation consultant at the hospital. It doesn’t work. I’ve searched up DayQuil and NyQuil to see if I can take it while pumping. I clicked on the med and nothing came up.

Highly disappointed. I downloaded this app to hopefully consolidate all of my meds/vitamins/supplements to make sure everything was within safe range for pregnancy. This app practically has zero information. Wasted $4.99 on the app because you had to pay before you could use it. It should at least have a free trial before purchasing so one could see what they were buying before actually buying it.

Horrible app.. Most of the time when I click on a medication it won’t open it. It’s loads and goes back to the top of the page. This app is trash.

My wife still can’t log in.. She’s emailed support and clicked forget password many times. Nobody responds to her emails and she doesn’t get an email. She’s checked every folder and searched by keywords. Nothing. I want a refund if we can’t get access. This is ridiculous.

Some sort of glitch. I paid the 3.99 for the app but was slightly annoyed to see there was an additional subscription fee. I was willing to pay it though because I’m extremely sick and keep finding conflicting information on the internet about what is safe to take while breastfeeding. When I tried to subscribe nothing happened. I closed the app and tried again and still nothing. So glad I wasted my 3.99 for an app that won’t even work.

Trusted. Recommended by my lactation consultants as a trusted resource for medication safety. Great for peace of mind during pregnancy and breastfeeding, when googling is inconclusive and contradictory. I gladly paid the $3.99 subscription cost to help fund more research. Thank you for creating this app!

Helpful for dads. My wife made me buy this app, and it came in handy the first time she sent me to the store for pain medicine. As a dad who did not know much about pregnancy, this app put me at ease when purchasing medication for my wife. I highly recommend!

Stellar advice!. MommyMeds made me feel a lot better searching for advice on what to take while I was sick last week. Great advice all around on what to take while I'm breastfeeding. Much better than WebMD!

App has major bugs. Version 2.3 says it has a new subscription model but there must be a bug. I purchased the app but I am not able to create a new account. When you get to the final stage of creating an account, purchasing a subscription, the links do not work. I hope this is fixed so I can actually use the app I purchased!

Doesn’t work. Will definitely take your $$. Paid for the subscription so I could look up a medication (since this app is highly recommended in mom groups). Keeps saying method is not available and wants me to buy the subscription I already paid for. Waste of time and needs to be fixed

Disappointing, not enough detail. For this much money I'd like some more thorough citations and more information about studies.

the best app for breastfeeding moms. Lots of great info here!

Disappointing. App won’t load.. After the latest iPhone upgrade, the app won’t load. I click on it and it just closes and crashes before the home screen even gets displayed. Very disappointing because I appreciated having this resource.

Terrible update. As a breastfeeding mother I really rely on this app to help me determine what meds I can take and ever since it updated it is not working. I can not see any Information about drugs. The app is unusable. Please fix!

New update doesn’t work. I used this app 3 years ago with my first baby and LOVED it. Now pregnant again I’ve tried using it but it freezes and NOTHING works! I can open the information for anything. AWFUL update!

Not completely accurate!. One of the first medications I looked up (spironolactone) was incorrect. It says no data available - but In fact it’s unsafe for pregnancy! Numerous doctors have told me this because it reduces testosterone and can affect the development of babies.

Not worth the cost.. With all the information freely available online and all the extra registration steps involved, this app is defiantly a rip off for a simple database website.

New update👎🏻👎🏻. Since the new update a lot of links aren’t working. And a lot of things aren’t loading. I can’t even see if medication is OK for breast-feeding!

Not worth the money. I can’t believe I actually spent money on this app, it should be for free. The scanner feature doesn’t really work because the database is small. The user friendliness is very low too.

Doesn’t work. Purchased the app, set up my profile, and it will not let me login. It keeps trying to get me to subscribe again even though it’s already charged my bank account 😡

Don’t get this app!. I absolutely hate this app. It charges $3.99 per month not just one time. I’ve gone crazy trying to figure out how to unsubscribe and haven’t been able to. It doesn’t give you any information that you can’t find in a simple google search.

Takes forever to load..... Would be convenient if it ever worked properly.

Nothing working. Every since the update nothing loads. You cannot search for medications bc the info does not load. Horrible and I paid for this! Fix it

Does not work!!. Since the update, i can’t look up meds! It just loads and/or kicks me off! I need my old version back.

Helpful when the app actually works. When I try to search any drug - it just shows me the circle and nothing populates. Wouldn’t recommend it. Medscape and epocrates are more user friendly.

Waste of money. Every med I’ve looked up and needed info on says “no data- probably compatible” for lactation and it says “unknown” for pregnancy. It was a total waste of money. Do not recommend.

Disappointing. I can’t believe I paid for an app that can’t locate half the things I’m on. The scanner doesn’t work and it was a waste of money. They need to seriously update the database.

Update ruined the app. I LOVE MommyMeds. I’m a mom and a pharmacist and I use this app frequently. Unfortunately I finally updated it, not realizing it would make it completely useless. As everyone else said, nothing loads. I’m extremely disappointed. Please fix this!!

Account Set up. I payed for the app subscription and there’s no option for me to create an account. I can’t figure out how to open up the app.

So easy to use!. Great app! Love the ability to scan items at the store. This app is a life saver.

Great Info but crashes all the time. App needs to be fixed. Love the info when I’m actually able to get it but the app crashes constantly.

Please fix. This app is useless due to the fact that no medications are displayed. For example; if I click on "prescription drugs" then click on a letter, the screen is blank. Totally useless. I wish I hadn't paid for this app.

Changed. I purchased it 4 years ago for $3.99 and used it all these years. Now all of the sudden, I can no longer use it unless I pay for the subscription. Greedy.

Great App When It Works. This app is great when it works. However, nothing will open right now for you to be able to see the info on the meds, which is the main reason for this app.

Broken. Currently getting a red screen and unable to get drug information. Was a great app when it worked.

No free features at all. Free to download the app but you can’t do a single thing on it without purchasing the sub. Misleading. I’d probably have purchased it if the price were just up front.

Not very helpful. I am extremely sick with a cold and congested and unsure of what to take and when you click on symptoms it says on almost every one that there is no data probably compatible. What does that even mean?? Extremely frustrating when you just want answers on a holiday weekend. Wished I wouldn’t have bought it.

? can we print info. It would help if info could be printed or forward by text or email

Do NOT purchase!!!!. Went to subscribe and purchase. Purchased but won’t let me subscribe and sign in. Have search for ways to contact someone and can’t. Waste of time, waste of money. Very frustrating

New app is busted. Cannot access any of the info as nothing loads. This serves no purpose as I used it to reference meds I would be taking. A wealth of knowledge gone.

Version 3.0 Update. Idk how else to get this message to the developers, but this new update rendered my app unusable. I can’t look up any meds, it just loads and loads and I can’t select anything else until I relaunch the app. I need to be able to use this app for my job. How do I fix this?

Double charge?. So the app costs $3.99 and then I have to pay an additional 3.99 subscription on top of that?

Don’t waste your money. I purchased the app only to find that you have to pay another $3.99 to subscribe for the services to actually use the app. However, it wouldn’t ever let me purchase the subscription so now I’ve just wasted $3.99 on an app I can’t even use!

Can’t access. I downloaded and paid for this app, however once I open the app I can’t create an account or continue past the sign in page.

Thanks for creating this excellent, easy to use app!. Thanks for creating this valuable resource! It helps ease my mommy-to-be brain!

Need help!!. I keep trying to download and buy the subscription in the app but it won’t let me. When I click purchase subscription nothing happens. I’ve tried restarting my phone and deleting and redownloading the app. It doesn’t work

Loved but won’t work anymore. I loved this app when I had my son but for some reason now when I try to access the app it just spins like it’s thinking but never connects. I can’t use it or find a link for customer service and don’t think I should have to pay to redownload it.

It doesn’t work!. I just purchased the subscription but it won’t let me log in!!! So frustrated

Can't even use. I tried to register and it keeps telling me there is an error. Can't get any information or help.

Wasted money. Spent $3.99 for a subscription only to get an error and now it won’t allow me to create an account and so I can’t use it the app.

Useless after version 3.0 update. I can no longer get this app to function. When I search a med, it won’t let me actually open the result. It was a great resource before this update, hopefully this will be fixed quickly.

Did not deliver. The app failed to deliver any useful information on the medication. It described as "probably safe" without any additional description like: half life of the medication, how long it stays in the system, uses of the medication. Bottom line is the app did not aid in making the decision whether to take the medication for surgery. Will not recommend to fellow moms.

Outdated information. There are multiple medicines with outdated information on here that they deem as safe but if you search it up on infant risk itself it shows it's absolutely not safe to take. 😡😡😡 You all seriously need to fix that.

Please Fix it!. This was an invaluable resource to me during previous pregnancies, but as others have mentioned the app no longer functions at all! Please get this fixed, this app used to be an amazing resource for pregnant and breastfeeding moms and now it’s completely useless.

What a Waste!!. I paid $3.99 to download an app that costs an additional $3.99. What a scam. It won’t even let me register and pay the additional $3.99. I hope Apple can refund my money!

Frustrated because of Inacuracy. While looking through the medications, I click on one and the title when it pulls up the page doesn’t match. That’s super frustrating not to have it updated and accurate. I’m mad I paid $4 for an app that I really can’t use because the medications don’t align. This needs to be worked on and fixed.

Wish it worked. I am trying to subscribe to the app to access the content but the app is buggy and doesn’t let me click the subscribe button. Literally nothing happens. Very frustrating.

Want to like it.... I want to be able to rate this a 5 star, but I’m so disappointed by its constant inability to be useful when I need it! Currently it’s telling me internet connection errors and not bringing me anything. This app could be so importantand so vital to pregnant and breastfeeding moms, it needs to work each and every time!

Requires paid subscription upon opening. Not useable unless you pay $3.99 per year. You should at least offer a trial so people can test it to see if they like it.
