At DuckDuckGo, we believe the Internet shouldn't feel so creepy, and getting the privacy you deserve online should be as simple as closing the blinds.
Our app provides the privacy essentials you need to seamlessly take control of your personal information as you search and browse the web, no matter where the Internet takes you:
• Escape Advertising Tracker Networks — Our Privacy Protection will block all the hidden third-party trackers we can find, exposing the major advertising networks tracking you over time, so that you can track who's trying to track you.
• Increase Encryption Protection — We force sites to use an encrypted connection where available, protecting your data from prying eyes, like ISPs.
• Search Privately — You share your most personal information with your search engine, like your financial, medical, and political questions. What you search for is your own business, which is why DuckDuckGo search doesn't track you. Ever.
• Decode Privacy Policies — We’ve partnered with Terms of Service Didn't Read to include their scores and labels of website terms of service and privacy policies, where available.
As you search and browse, the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser shows you a Privacy Grade rating when you visit a website (A-F). This rating lets you see how protected you are at a glance, dig into the details to see who we caught trying to track you, and learn how we enhanced the underlying site's privacy measures. The Privacy Grade is scored automatically based on the prevalence of hidden tracker networks, encryption availability, and website privacy practices.
Our app provides standard browsing functionality including tabs, bookmarks, and autocomplete. In addition to strong Privacy Protection as described above, we also packed in some extra privacy features into the browser itself:
• Fire Button — Clear all your tabs and data with one tap.
• Application Lock — Secure the app with Touch ID or Face ID.
Too many people believe you simply can’t expect privacy on the Internet. We're fighting to change that, and have made it our mission to set a new standard of trust online. Install DuckDuckGo and take back your privacy!

10.0 and high ios versions.
This is a small release to fix a UI bug where the fire icon appears to move when the tab switcher is open.
There is a problem with the browser controls disappearing when looking at web pages and they refuse to pop back up. You have to force quick the app to get it to respond correctly. This is some kind of bug in the app that needs to be addressed.
Love this site!!! Thank you for maintaining our privacy and not spinning left or right!
Fully satisfied. I truly feel safer using this. Before I recommend to friends I’ll use more. To heck with G00£KE and their goal to sell as much data and trade info with 3 letter agencies. Thanks to the CERN creators and the team that back us and them up. I truly hope this is as wonderful as it seems so far. If a similar concept existed to replace the controlling people at YouTube that would be great. As much people mysteriously are blocked, regulated, shadow banned a similar concept as Duck Duck Go is for the net would be great to replace YT. I bet people would pay for the confidence, trust and freedom. I’m thinking about buying a Protonmail e-mail account. Freedom in digital is real craved by many. Thanks again Duck Duck Go.
Home button on bottom to open Duck Search page with a single click. Share Sheet Button in the bottom. Reaching at the top is a workout. Search Bar should be in the middle. Yes I’m lazy. Season reason above. Open in Safari needed in the share sheet.
Love the privacy of DuckDuckGo. I changed all my phone, business and home accounts. Unfortunately Google just can’t offer a product. They have to shape the way people think to conform to their ideals. DuckDuckGo works exceptionally well but stays private and non-political. Don’t change and let the others arrogance cause their own losses.
I still prefer Firefox Focus for most things, but this works great too for fast, private searching.
I like your search engine however you need to ad a share button on the bottom for text, email etc....
Great app. Big fan! Stopped using google as my goto first web search service for a few years now. Thank you very much. A small suggestion for the team, please consider this. Can you please add iOS share sheet support? So that a ^search in DuckDuckGo^ button appears in the share sheet options.
Has a cool dark theme. I like that we can browse privately on iOS. However it operates slower than Safari. I've already switched DuckDuckGo as my default search engine in Safari. Please fix the lag. I'll still give 5 stars for the concept, and wish you all the best in the future! Hopefully you surpass Yahoo, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, in terms of Market Share :D
There’s a neat eye-opening feature listing ad trackers blocked and other dubious privacy practices. A decent basic browser. Safari has reading mode, and Google has more powerful search tools, e.g. more options for refining searches by date. If it had these two features, DuckDuckGo would be my default browser.
This is the best search engine that I have use. Great reaction time. Unfiltered results. Nice work
Great for peace of mind (but seems to be slightly slower than other search engines which I can easily live with)
Besides inaccurate reporting it’s a good quick rough way to quickly find the cheapest fuel around
Thank you you for freeing me from all the trackers. Great app 👌
DuckDuckGo gives everything relevant to my search. Google gave first a long list of Politically Correct sites and often completely hid sites that had opposing views
Anything that allows privacy on the net is a good thing I would like a search window on the home page like google though.
Great browser that has gotten better over time and still gets updated. There’s not much in the way of settings, but the trade offs are worth it. The only thing better would be a Ublock Origin browser of an official TOR browser.
Use DuckDuckGo for privacy. Boycott Google. Blackban Google. Do Not Use Google!
I have used this app for a week now. Very good search results. Used to use google exclusively because of results, but became alarmed when objects I looked for magically came up during the next few hours or day. Not an issue now. If it ever happens I’m gone from this app too. I like the flash dump of data to deter tracking.
Even better privacy...
This is an acceptable and refreshing alternative to Google! I feel this way as a hater of monopolies! This engine is very basic in appearance, nothing fancy, grand or dazzling, but it does what it says. I like the standard option of deleting each and every search and all of its details, the moment I’ve completed it!
Love it, I stop using other engines.
This is not a truly comprehensive browser if you can’t have all your saved sites, curated over years, importable.
Have you ever read about something in an article, wondered what it was, looked it up and then suddenly started getting adds for it? Or have you let someone else use your phone for something and all of a sudden you get adds for nose plugs that help you stop snoring? Those almost telepathic ads started to turn me into home grown conspiracy theorists before I finally found web browsers free from peering eyes and DuckDuck is my favorite by far. The easy to use and handy app is like searching via google without all the little to close for comfort ads and all the confidence. Try it out!
DuckDuckGo Always gets you there.
Edit: Add tor connection to each tab. I either use Tor or Brave for my desktop web browser, and Brave recently added a tor connection feature for private tabs. I know this app is a “search engine,” but it’s essentially a web browser for users such as myself. Since we use it as a web browser, the Share feature to share in group chat apps, email, messages, etc. was desperately needed. Now to add a “Open in DuckDuckGo” or “make default web browser” option. I refuse to use any other search engine or web browser and copying/pasting links from group chats in DuckDuckGo is a hassle. Thanks!
Perfectly happy with this search engine and no big business watching makes it all the better. Thanks.
Love no tracking
Useful app, works well
I came to find this app after I got fed up being tracked by google trying to sell me ads and collecting my information. Be it this app or the browser extension, the experience has been great and the latest update brings it in line with what you expect from other browsers.
Been using DDG pinned to home screen for a few months and more than satisfied. Enjoyed touches like the neutral default settings, surprisingly good stories and content on homepage
The page slides to one side, turns red and finishes the search without any effect. Rebooting the iPhone produces the same effect. Very disappointed in new app.
The new update crashes the minute you click on the app.
App crashes straight away. IOS 7...
App crashes immediately when opened. IOS 7.1.2
