Superb resource at the barn. Simple and easy to use, TONS of information (most of which I hope I never need 😀). I have already found the anatomy pics very helpful. I highly recommend this app to all horse owners, regardless of breed or discipline.

Wow, this is really good.. One if the few apps worth the $, it is crammed with tons of interesting information. The videos and diagrams are great, easy reference at the barn. My vet told me about it. Recommending it to all my friends.

HSVG. As an equine vet tech, I have found HSVG to be an invaluable resource on the job. Easier to search and less expensive than the Merck vet manual app, HSVG provides a great starting point with the Observations list. Customer support is also stellar - if I cannot find what I am looking for, I send an email and they respond right away and add it to the app - Kudos to HSVG!

Littlemac. Have used this app over and over. Great information, illustrations, and videos. Suggested a change for search engine and it was made in less than 12 hours. Very responsive with great information. Horse people have needed this info with this ease of access for a long time.

Must for horse owners. Wonderful app. Gives lots of helpful information and recommendations. Just used to aid me when my horse choked. Tell you what information (and how to get the info) you should have when you call the vet. And gives you additional info you can try if the first treatment doesn’t work. Includes great illustrations and ‘how to’ videos .

Fantastic to calm the panic. It’s very helpful to have some information at your fingertips to move forward from a panic mental state to calmer thinking again.

Horse's skeleton. All I wanted was to see was an anatomical picture of the horse's skeleton . I couldn't find it . Please put this in your "app" or tell me the search word I failed to figure out on my own . Thank you, Jerry Koons

Great App but slow. Super app with tons of great features and information but holy smokes it is slow. Still, totally worth it.

Essential for every horse owner. I stumbled across the website — loved it-so I was thrilled to see they had a mobile app as well. Well worth the 4.99 to get it. I love the Horse health evaluation checklist and form, plus the videos that show you how to do it are so helpful. This is one app I will never delete.

Great App for All Horse Owners. Really great app for horse owners. Definitely worth the purchase. The only recommendation I have for the app developers is to add some pictures to the “My Skills” procedure steps.

A virtual plethora of information. There is indeed an abundance of information available on this ap. Well worth the money.

So far so good. So far I like this app and after being in the vet field for some 27 odd years it seems to be pretty informative. However I did notice one little thing that should be clarified. If you're told not to use a drug or do something to a horse I feel like you should explain why you shouldn't use that drug or use that technique. For example you say " Acepromazine should not be used in stallions". Why??? You should explain why simply because it really should be used with caution in geldings for the same reason. And that reason is paralysis of the penis and the inability to retract the penis. All stallion and gelding owners need to know this for the same reason. No one wants that to happen to a male horse. The implications are not so good. I would think liability on your part would warrant a simple explanation. Otherwise a good app. I've enjoyed perusing this app so far.

This app is what the equine world has been missing!!!!. I have lived and worked with horses all my life and no literature out there compares to what this app can do for a horse owner. I love the easy access of everything and especially the variety of subjects it covers. It really is as if your vet was standing right by your side as your horse is in trouble. The navigation is easy to master and you can even call your vet right from the app. The design is beautifully done and makes me want to use this app not only in emergency situations but also as a learning tool to educate myself more on equine healthcare. They have instructional photos and videos and even a "learning annex". Horse Side Vet Guide is definitely what every horse owner has been waiting for for a long time and should download immediately!

A wealth of information. Great information all horse owners need to know and more in depth information to have at your fingertips. It is great to have it downloaded so most is available without Internet as cell coverage is often limited where horses are located. Easy to use too!

Won't download. It doesn't help me much if it doesn't download, even after restarting and trying to reinstall, all while on Wifi...I hope it gets working or that's $5 down the drain...

Worst app. Every time you look something up it simply tells you the obvious or to go to the vet .. Well, hell, I could have done that on my own! It does not explain what the issue is from, it does not give suggestions what to try before going to the vet, and half the time it does not have what you are looking for ! It's a waste!

Best app to have at the barn - period. My vet told me about this app and I love love love it. I love the depth and breadth of content and how its constantly growing with new info. Of course, the observations list is a bit frightening! Cross my fingers and hope my horse stays healthy!

Everyone should have this. Any person who does any job around a horse should have this app in their pocket. Clear, concise, actionable. A lot of thought went into its design and contents. I actually just scroll and read in order to educate myself.

A must for every horse owner. This is without a doubt the best equestrian app that is on the market. Not only does the app have hundreds of explanations for diagnoses, treatments etc but it also has educational videos and quizzes. Brilliant!

Reliably correct, always available.. This is a great app! They could honestly charge double or more what they are charging and it would still be well worth it. TONS of information! One awesome thing is that you download all the info to your phone, so you are not reliant on an internet connection when you need to use it.

Most importantly, this tool can help you quickly assess what you are concerned about with your horse and help you decide whether you can handle the situation or whether you need to get help.

What a wonderful app!. So often I am disappointed in the apps I purchase, but not this one. It is easy to navigate and contains more info on horse health than I will ever (hopefully) need. The info on horse colic alone is impressive and the images and videos are very helpful. I recommend this app to anyone that owns, leases or trains horses.

Vet tech student/horse caretaker. So many helpful resources in this app! Just what I was looking for. It is intuitive and easy to use. I love the ‘Skills’ tool with explanations and videos to learn new skills. The ‘My Observations’ tool is amazing, type in a word and chose from possible diagnoses. There are simple explanations, instructions, skills and supplies.

Practical, Helpful, Great Value. I have used this app quite a few times out riding without internet service, it was clearly developed by an experienced vet that has seen a variety of horse emergencies. One of the few apps of quality.

Dr. Siegel. Very helpful and full of useful information. Well worth it! Can save you and your horse. Info on what to do (and not to do) in any medical situation, what info to prepare for the vet, with detailed explanations and user friendly tabs. Up to date information with references. Clear and concise, easy read. Great tool for any horse owner!

☹️. Not enough detail to be useful

Used to be my number one app. But videos have stopped working. I have recommended this to every horse owner i know. But lately, the videos have stopped working. When you click on them, it kicks you out of the app. How do you Learn if you are ejected out of the app? And the app itself has only been updated 2 years ago. It needs an update.

Nice handy guide. Has some easy ways to see real time what you need or need to do for your equine. Even searching for questions on equine health, a must have for equine owners.

Waste of my money. I've been really disappointed in this app. With all the great reviews I assumed it was worth buying. So far it freezes, is extremely slow, and the information it gives is beginning horse owner level. Doesn't work on an iPad so you're stuck trying to read on an iPhone screen. I have several books with more advanced info and it's quicker than waiting for the app to respond. Maybe would be helpful for a first time horse owner.

Super! VERY helpful app for the horse owner!. This app has come in handy for me several times. It not only explains things well, it gives you good solutions to try and how you should present it to your vet if necessary. It is VERY easy to navigate and has been helpful as a problem solver as well. I highly recommend every horse owner and horse handler have this on your phone- it is a life saver!!!!!!

Please add photos!!. It's very very helpful in the sense that it is extremely specific! You can learn so much too! And the price is great for what it can teach you! Every horse owner should have this app! The only thing is that it's a bit lagging and glitchy. Please fix the bugs. **Would be 100 times better with picture examples!!

This is a great app for any horse owner that wants a quick, precise way of determining the potential causes and urgency of veterinary care for the clinical signs that they are observing. For the volume and quality of content, it is highly under-valued--multiple print publications would be required to contain all of this information and would be difficult to sort through rapidly.

A must have. This is a great reference app. I work full time at a large horse farm and now I won't go to work without my iPod touch . This app provides in depth information about care, handling,emergencies etc. I also love how you can type in the symptom you're observing in a horse and it will give a list of possible ailments.
