Peace of mind.. This is the only anchoring app to use. In Alaska I run 3 different sonar units and 4g radar and this is the only one I can totally depend on. It allows me to sleep without worry. If you lose anchor and run aground up here... you’re dead. That’s how much I trust this app.

Alarm goes off in error. Doesn’t work anymore. Boat slides out of radius (in app) and triggers alarm when there has been no boat movement. The boat then slides back in place so you can see there is no issue, but the damage (broken sleep) has already been done. It has happened multiple times - as recent as last night. I have loved this app but have to look for another one today. We need something reliable.

Need some help!. I downloaded the “Anchor!” App today after Active Captain comments as to how good it is. The instructions in the app are straight forward, however I have been unable to get the app to accept my “sending” email and it keeps asking me to redo it saying it is not a correct email. When I enter it and do a “test” it works. Then forgets it. I must be doing something wrong however I cannot determine what after 10-12 retries. We are cruising the Chesapeake Bay and could use a good app. Can someone please advise what I’m missing?

Saved our “home” more than once. Thanks for an amazing app. Works very well for us! I would appreciate the ability to hear only the anchor alarm at night and have everything else(notifications) be silenced at night.

Anchor App. Just got this app and love it so far. Easy to use, color of track changes every hour so you can see your recent track as it over lays old track. Lays the track over Google earth image so it is sort of ‘enhanced reality. The only thing it could maybe do that it doesn’t have (or I haven’t figured out) is to overlay it on Navionics chart with AIS....but that’s not a big deal.

The best of all anchor apps. We depend on this app and it has always performed. We have been using it for years and will continue to use it.

Thank you so much!. So on my sailboat, I have a 12v outlet/ iPhone charger in the bow cabin which allows me to place my phone very close to the bow of the boat while we are on anchor. The continuous charging allows the GPS to work throughout. I have been very happy with the set up which will alarm if we swing too far, have a drastic wind shift or drag anchor. The fact the alarm comes through the Apple Watch is great for when I am on the boat away from the bow. I look forward to trying out the additional features such as the email/alert to a different phone. Thank you so much for a well thought out app.

Great monitor for anchor watch. This app is great to see where your boat is relative to your anchor. With Internet connectivity it provides a sat overlay of the location. Without connectivity, it will still alarm if the boat goes outside the alarm range diameter. GPS interface is very accurate. Best anchor app that I have used.

Easy to use. I like this anchor alarm as it is easy to use. I seldom have the app to press “down anchor” when we put the anchor down but this app makes it easy to adjust. The trials that change color are also a great idea.

Great App. Been using Anchor for three years now and it works great. We have been out cruising and use it almost every day. It would be nice to be able to make a polygon instead of a circle though most anchorage’s are not circular.

Better than any others we’ve tried. Relatively easy to use, especially like the ability to move the estimated position of the anchor. It could be a bit more polished, for example, it’s unclear how to stop or put it into standby or turn off. Tutorial is also not easy to follow.

Safe in Exumas. Just returned from a 10 night trip from Nassau to Staniel Cay and back on a 38 ft cat, and was kept safe by Anchor!. When using a new anchor watch program, I keep the perimeter tight and like waking up to the alarm to make sure things are working. I use an old Ipad Air (no wifi) Bluetooth connected to my old Dual XGPS150A GPS. Can't exactly tell if radius or diameter, and the boat anchor distance is too small relative to the screen when anchoring in 7 to 20 ft of water. Anchor uses a small banner across the top to let you know it is functioning; good. My recommendation: Craig Nelson.

Amazing!. I loaded this app on my iPhone and on my iPad. When I go to sleep on the hook I haven’t any worries. I use it in the Great Lakes and Southeast Caribbean. It has never let me down.

Essential App for Cruising Boaters. Excellent app with an easy-to-use GUI that offers real peace of mind when anchored in swift / tight tidal areas or anchorages with exposure to high wind and/or wave conditions. The satellite imagery feature and GPS track lines show you everything you need to know about your anchor’s hold. Highly recommended.

Saved my Yacht !. Snapped a mooring near a steep reef and it gave me the heads up with 30s to disaster! That is worth 5 stars alone. Fairly good application, and I use it nightly. A bit buggy, around the user interface, but it works. Beware of application updates at night, which causes the app to shutdown.

Works great!. Set it and forget it until you drive off and it scares the hell out of you! Especially when your phone is hooked to Bluetooth!

It works!!!. I have a $6000 Garmin chart plotter with anchor drag functionality. This app works FAR better with better data with the anchor down and no power draw from the house bank. Only issue I ever had was to forget to “raise the anchor” within the app when departing an anchorage and of course all hell breaks loose. Just what you want!!!

Great app. Love the functionality the buttons give. Gives you all the functions & info you want to know, distance to anchor, alarm radius, center on boat, swap anchor with last anchor position, etc.

Simple, and just works. Simple, and just works. Robust handling of app interruptions, crashes, etc. Only thing that could improve is if it were possible to download better base maps.

Great Anchor Watch App. Just took a trip from Seattle to Glacier Bay AK and back using this app and it worked great. Just launch the app when you are ready to anchor and set the anchor location when you drop the hook. It will track the boat position from that point forward showing on the screen everywhere the boat has been since the set. It allows you to then set a radius alarm for any distance but since it will show the boat position when you back up to set the anchor you will see the radius at that time. Very reassuring to know how your boat is tracking and to do a quick check at night. It does consume a lot of battery so we run it with an iPad left charging. The app works in background as long as you don't close the app so you can use your device for other things and come back to the app and it will show the tracks made since you left it. Need to put your device in a location where it both gets GPS and someone can hear the alarm. Anywhere in the main cabin worked for us. It works with or without internet.

Things that beep in the night. False alarms never seems to go off during the day. Last night, I had 4 false alarms. The GPS seems to go on walk abouts in middle of the night. Otherwise, it’s a good app.

Love this app. We were on anchor for our first time in a lake with mud bottom. Our 55 lb Rocha dragged first two times we set, when the wind shifted. The alarm worked like a charm to alert us. Third time she set great, and one feature we really like about this app, is being able to see the patterns while on anchor and anticipate what may or may not become an issue. Allowed us several good nights off sleep. Thank you.

Standard anchor monitor with remote capability. 2 stars because I need to go into town and I’m trying to set up the system. iPad is the Sender to the iPhone. It worked a week ago and today I’m resetting tracks and such. I send the invite to my phone but it keeps pulling up old location and data. Stand-alone is fine but when I go to remote, it’s not. I’ve uninstalled it to redo on my phone hoping to reset data but in trying to find this app, I found others. So I’m gonna give them a try first. The frustration for the clunky interface and wonky use is not worth it. Stand-alone is OK. There are better apps for standalone. Probably remote, too.

Anchor position holding onto last anchored position and won’t release. Anchor position not releasing from previous anchor 5nm away. Boat shows itself in correct location but thinks anchor is still in old location. Closing and restarting does nothing to sAllow me to reset anchor location Help please...

Great anchor watch app.. A great app - but not very easy to work out how to use some of its more advanced features. I really like the remote monitor so I can see what’s happening when I go ashore.

So far the best one I used. I have tried a handful of these anchor apps and this one worked the best for me. Its easy to use and I could trust it not to wake me up 20 times a night with false alarms.

Sleep a little better. Anchoring can be a tricky business, but ANCHOR! takes some of the worry out of it. You still need to follow standard procedure, setting a human watch in questionable weather and checking ground tackle periodically, but this app is great for confirming your position on the darkest night.

Your app needs some extras. Your anchor watch works well. Only problem I have is that there is no clear or reset button when you move to another anchor spot. Plus your tutorial needs a move ahead button not just skip which cancels the tutorial totally.

Best anchor alarm out there. I’ve tried a bunch of them and this is by far the best one. I love the tracking feature so you can see the drift pattern over time

Anchor - rest assured. We have been using Anchor since it was first offered on the iPhone - I believe it is the best anchor watch app available. Two features make Anchor really stand out: 1) ability to change the anchor location after the anchor is down. Let’s face it, I don’t stand on the bow and capture the anchor location in the middle of a set. But setting the position in the app based on range and bearing after the anchor is set does work. 2) Remote monitoring. This option lets us worry less while ashore; we can see the updated boat position as well as the position age and battery status of the sender. My only “nice to have” request is including a nautical chart overlay - I suspect this is hard to do, and the documentation reflects that the developer agrees, but this add would be nice! Perhaps OpenSeaMap? In summary, a great app, that now offers an Apple Watch app as well!

Perfect for verifying good anchor. I’m confused by the low reviews. My use case: I’m on a boat and want to make sure the anchor was set properly. I downloaded the app, ignored the help screens, pushed the down anchor button. The app shows where you are and draws trails to show where you have been. When you go out of range, an alarm pops up. If this is your use case feel free to ignore the folks complaining about email or their phone’s gps performance inside their car. This app has successfully tracked anchoring on my boat for several years. Easy recommendation.

Outstanding stand-alone, remote monitoring is poor. This app is one of the best stand-alone anchor alarms that I’ve come across. It’s very easy to setup, and it worked as advertised throughout the night. The initial tutorial is helpful. I would give it 4-5 stars for the stand-alone features. One issue is that the alarm functions like any other sound. You can’t put DnD mode or set it to vibrate on your phone. This would be desirable, since I often get text messages at all hours and would like to set DnD but get audible anchor alarms. Most importantly, however, I paid for the app to use its remote monitoring feature. There is no tutorial for it, the FAQ/manual is sparse, and I couldn’t get it to work properly. I was hoping to find an anchor alarm that allows monitoring iOS device-to-device with alarm on the remote phone. I couldn’t get it to work, and I have programming background. At best it’s not user friendly, at worst the feature doesn’t work properly.

Anchor! Is awesome tool for sailors. Anchor does a great job. Wakes you if your boat moves in the night. Sends messages if you are away and you keep a boat phone. Helps you find your boat if you have lost your way (by dinghy). Anchor keeps great bread crumb trail of where your anchor has you swinging. We use it daily. Excellent tool.

Takes a while to figure out.. I wish there was a bit more information spelled out. It works great when figured out. But I can’t tell which direction is which so when I need to move my anchor mark I can’t tell where to move it. The compass button doesn’t seem to show anything. Eventually I see where I am swinging and move the anchor to what makes sense. It does use a lot of battery power.

Anchor. Mapping is a little crude but then again this isn’t a navigational tool. The features are great. I love that it traces your path while on anchor. I would like to see where I could enter a numerical number for the alerting circle but this is not a big issue. Great program! Worked perfectly.

Great app. I occasionally get a wild move that the boat didn’t make but it always gives me a piece of mind. The remote app is amazing. Wish it was a little more user friendly though.

Superb Anchor Watch!. I love this app. It’s very effective as an anchor watch and very easy to use. Since it’s based on the phones location, if you dingy ashore (or elsewhere), and want continuous monitoring, use remote monitoring on a second phone to see what’s happening on the boat. Of course, both phones need internet service for remote to work. Everything about the app is well thought out and is totally worth the effort to learn. Well done developers!

Anchor location. If you accidentally turn off a set alarm, then quickly turn it back on, does the app locate the anchor icon at the boat’s current location..?

Very nice and intuitive app. We have tried numerous anchor watch apps and find this the best for us so far. We live aboard full time (last 4.5 years) and have used it from the Chesapeake Bay down through the Caribbean, across to NZ, and back around this region of the Pacific for about 25,000 nm with almost every night at anchor.

A good night’s sleep. Love this app. My wife and I live on our sailboat and depend on this app every night. We have used several anchor drag alarm apps during our 7 years living aboard. This app is the best. Charts that give you Google images, allowing relocation of the anchor location anytime, and accurate alarms when needed.

Great app!!! Has saved our boat!. App shows anchor with circle that I can adjust. Alarm is loud and wakes me up. Tracking is as good as our navigation program and even designates earlier and later tracks. Appreciate privacy protection. Recommend highly.

Know where you are.. Pull in to the bay, drop the hook and plot your position with this program. Set the boundaries, sit back and wait and see if you drag. Alarms sound or email can be sent if it happens. Nice program.

Great application. We anchor most of the time, and this is the application I use. It does a good job of tracking your swing, and is easy to adjust and use.

Excellent app---best one by far. My wife and I anchor out probably 60 nights per year. We needed an app that we could rely on as well as one that is easy to use. I have tried several other apps and none are close to as good as this one. When I sense a wind shift I love looking at the color coded lines that clearly show periods of time based on color. The new boat shift will be a new color and you can quickly tell if the boat is lying in the correct area. I also like the remote features so that when we go to shore we have a warning system. I have never written and app review but felt this app was superior and deserved a review.

Great Standalone. The latest release is awesome! Wife and I both relied heavily on the app for almost 8 weeks on the hook over the summer. The remote monitoring and perimeter sharing is now flawless. I also love the flic button integration! By far the best anchor program that be tried.

Anchor is a great app. I’ve used this app for a few years. Love it. Easier to use and more informative than the alarm options in my other B& G Nav systems. It would be really useful to be able to pre download the satellite map or use the already downloaded and saved google map or Ovitalmap. I do like to be able to see the boat position relative to the land but can only download after setting anchor position. Often I anchor in a place with no cell reception so cannot get the satellite overlay.

Best one I’ve found. I love that you can disable it to leave the boat and it remembers the location of the anchor. You can set it after you drop the anchor so you aren’t worrying about one more thing while trying to anchor. I also like that you can see the boat location superimposed ok your swing circumference and a google earth map!

Great app - however. Used the app for over a week and found it very useful. It was a challenge to move the anchor icon when setting the anchor as it was too small. Also, the vessel icon was so small that it was difficult to find in the track lines if you move around a lot. I woke up every two hours for a week to verify our position and found we were in the position as shown on the app. Only on a few cases did we exceed the perimeter and activate the alarm for some reason. There was no wind and light current and the perimeter circle was 180ft beyond the anchor distance, just a few spikes out and back - go figure. Better to be safe than sorry. In any case we will continue to use the app.

Great app. Great app and doesn’t go to sleep when the phone goes to standby. Doesn’t seem to drain the battery either. I would recommend it! 😉

Best and simplest anchor app available. Have tested the vast majority of anchor alarm apps in the App Store. This is the pick of the bunch. Haven't tested latest version yet.

Best anchor watch of all of them. I’ve used it for years, allows us to get a great nights sleep. Developer support is epic. I wanted to be able to drop/raise anchor from the flybridge as I have an iPad dedicated to the Anchor app mounted in the salon. Two weeks later & now can do this with the Flic Button support added.

Clunky old design. The program works but has a very old fashioned UI. Could not get the email notification to work and received no reply after emailing the developer. Thee are free apps that work as well.

Great Anchor alarm. This alarm has saved my boat when we were hit by a strong southerly. The anchor dragged and then picked up seaweed. The alarm woke us up and I was on top of it. Easy to use with good coverage. Just set the pick and the alarm and it works with IPhone or my iPad. I leave it by the bed charging and it monitors all night. You can also set it to call you by sms if you leave the boat with iPad monitoring while you go out on your tender for a black walk. 10/10

Great Anchor monitor. All features work well, the remote monitoring not an issue so far, works well. Batteries will go flat if not connected to a power source over night, not really an issue for us. Best anchor IPhone/IPad alarm we have used. Recommend for cruisers

Better than before and an impressive stack of features.. Icons grrrrr. Helps if you drop a waypoint on your plotter when the anchor goes down and sort the alarm later. Always use 2 alarms. We were saved by the alarms going off in Portugal recently when a fisherman pulled our anchor when his net got tangled in our anchor retrieval line (line with a float up off back of anchor to allow to be pulled if stuck). At 3am in 30 knots! Dont sleep without it.

Sleep relaxed.. This app is reliable and allows you to sleep well in the knowledge that you will be alerted should you start drifting. The ability to set your own parameters is very appropriate.

Great App. Great app - used this nightly during a bareboat charter in the Whitsundays Queensland. Often didn’t have any mobile reception so couldn’t load background maps, but for the purposes of alarming if drifting beyond a radius this app was perfect. Great that it keeps running with phone screen off. Was always interesting to review the app in the morning to see how the boat had moved around during the night.

Best anchor watch. This is the best anchor watch I was able to find. It does everything you'd expect it to do. Even when you switch off your ipad (not power-off or stopping the app of course), Anchor! stays active and will wake up itself (and you) on alarm conditions. We've been using this app on our yacht in the Meds six months a year on an almost daily basis for a couple of years. It never was unreliable (apart from a small problem in a new version). This review was written at 3 in the morning on an anchored yacht in 30 kts winds, gusting up to 42.

Didn’t work - maps not accurately. Just bought this and it has our boat on land. Doesn’t even have the bay we are in on Lake Ontario.

Warning about do not disturb mode. It would be nice if iThis app would over ride the Do Not Disturb mode.

Poor position reliability. Seems odd that the GPS on my phone is easily accurate enough to navigate, but constantly loses its position with this anchor alarm. The only thing worse than no anchor alarm is one that constantly gives a false alarm. The developer will blame the iPhone, but every other app that uses my phone, and as a sailor and traveller there’s a lot of them, has no accuracy issues right down to my Garmin driving app. Waking up at 3am to an alarm showing you took off across an island for a second, but you’re back now, is unacceptable and unreliable

Great app. We sail and anchor 6 months every winter in Caribbean. This app works off line and the easy ability to move the anchor icon after we have set the hook is tremendous. I have a gps built into my iPad Pro. I believe this allows more accuracy. I seldom have WiFi available so no charts but in my opinion they are unnecessary as I know where I am I just want to know if I am dragging.

Blinking continuously. Since the last iPad update, it does not work well, blink every second.

Very useful / essential. The alarm works great, but the usage of the map is difficult, one finger, two fingers, drag... A manual interface to capture the anchor position would by greatly beneficial. Don’t forget to bring your phone with you when you drop the anchor and press the anchor button; this way you do not need to fiddle with the anchor position.

Great app!. While out single handed this App allowed me a bit of sleep during windy conditions with poor holding.

App crashing. In the last week, we have not been able to use the app at all. It crashes repeatedly upon opening. We are not the only ones experiencing this problem. Is there a fix in the works??

What a great app!. This is an awesome app - it has literally saved our boat twice this year. Peace of mind when at anchor - I keep it running every night we’re on the hook, and casually glance at it from bed just to be sure we’re holding. I wouldn’t anchor without it.

Best anchor app.. This is the best iOS anchor app I have found. It saved me last summer, waking me while I slept after my rode got cut. It’s easy enough to use. I have used it to call another device in the event of a drag. The only downsides of the app are the fault of Apple. The app is not allowed to send text messages or make calls in the background. Apple should make an exception for apps like this. The best part is the developer answered a recent question of mine so we know this is an app with an active developer which bodes well for the future health of this app. Well worth the purchase.

Great!. The app is great. Feature request: please support importing a GPX file that contains a single point. We would like to drop our anchor location in Navionics, export the pin, and import it into the Anchor app. The sharing could be done through the “open in” share sheet in iOS. Thanks again!

Not easy. Anchor is not easy to learn. Could not find a clear and simple user manual. Too many features and confusing instructions

Great for anchor alarm. I love this app. Keep this alarm active on my iPad by my bed and it really helps me sleep better while on the hook. I love seeing the track especially with wind direction changes

Too difficult to figure out. Just not an intuitive app to use, even with the tutorial. It very well may accurate but never got to a point where I could trust that it was set right.

Worry free. Know how your anchor is set from the time you drop it. Great in churned up water with poor visibility.

New update killed app. The new update installed yesterday now prevents the app from running. I have used this app for over a year and a half and this is the first time in has not worked. Please patch!

Never moved.. Never moved and anchor alarm went off many times. Sitting in driveway in car. Never moved. Set at 45 feet. New generation iPad and all software updates. Even tried it with bad elf Bluetooth gps running as well. Terrible app

Best anchor app. Like the satellite view when I have cell signal. Only shortcoming is the safety zone is only a circle and no alarm for 180 degree moves.

Works Great. Easy to use and set up. Would be great if it was integrated with Garmin or Navionics maps. Have actual navigation maps showing depths would be awesome.

Doesn’t always seem to be accurate. We will get alarms even though the boats GPS says we haven’t moved! Also, I have been unable to figure out how to clear out the app map from my last anchored spot! It keeps all of my anchoring spots - very irritating- the only way I’ve been able to clear is to delete and re download the app!

I gave up!. Tried using this for a week...never did figure it out. It has a big finger that hovers over the screen that is supposed to help you. No matter what I did I aways ended up on the other side of the planet in Italy. No instructions and way too confusing. Next.

Good app. I rely on this app when we are at anchor. I’ve tried other apps but this one is my go to.
