Doesn’t work anymore. Nowadays it just randomly loses connection and stops responding. Not even any sort of error notification or anything, it just freezes with a still of my screen and stops broadcasting or accepting inputs. Even over my local network. When I force close the app and reopen it, it operates just fine as if nothing’s wrong… for a little while, and then it starts misbehaving again until I force close. My productivity is plummeting. It’s not me, it’s you. EDIT: Now it does something weird where, and I never believed this to be possible, the app I’m developing in (Unity) just stops responding to change until I move or resize the window. I thought it was a Unity problem, until I saw that natively on the computer the app responds fine. For some reason, Screens won’t render any changes to the app until I resize it. EDIT: Thank you for your flippant response to my review but I am going to continue leaving a negative review on your product for being a major inconvenience to me. Don’t talk to me about what’s productive, your app is taking productivity away from me and you expect me to keep your good name clean???? Completely unprofessional. EDIT AGAIN: Yet another flippant response to my review. Just let it go. Your product is causing problems for me and so I left a negative review. I will not be changing it. I will not ever be changing it. Every new version I will continue posting a negative review. You’ve earned it.

Best iPad VNC Client. I tried several VNC apps. This one works better then the rest. Other apps didn’t work quite right with the Magic Keyboard. My biggest complaint is lack of a trial mode. I wasted time trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and purchase this. I wish there was gesture support on the Magic Keyboard for changing desktops, but I can live with pressing control-left/right.

Really works, easily. Allows curtain mode and many add-ons that make it shine. Works perfectly with free Mac software, and free service keeps track of IP address, so you can punch through your router without needing to set up a VPN like Hamachi. Fast, easy to understand, and supports tablet and cursor mode, function keys, one-button access to Spotlight, automatic login with excellent security, and zoom. Well supported, really rapid tech direct answers to queries, and fully compatible with iPhone X.

Doesn’t Support Click + Hold. Screens has a beautifully designed simple interface, with a very user friendly network setup process. Unfortunately, it’s still lacking some basic features for remote computing. The app does not support right or middle mouse button click + hold commands, rendering softwares like Rhino, AutoCad, Revit, or the Adobe CS suite virtually unusable when remoting into a desktop. I’d consider revisiting this app once the developer team has addressed this basic interface, but if your in the AEC or design industries, stick with the laptop for now.

Soooo slllloooooowwww. Been a screens user for several years (actually, not sure why I’m still here?) The app is beautiful, and I like the features and functionality. But I have never had a connection to my Mac that wasn’t plagued by slowness. Sometimes a couple seconds between interaction and result. Sometimes a full minute or more. Unfortunately, this results in this app being mostly unusable except in extreme emergencies.

Should have bought this earlier. I have an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil and a Magic Keyboard. I’ve been struggling to find a VNC client to access my Ubuntu desktop/server. This app has excellent Magic Keyboard support, gestures work perfectly, even with the Apple Pencil. With the url scheme I can create a launcher on my iPad Home Screen. The connection is active whenever I return to the app, unlike some other apps where I have to reconnect after 15 seconds or so in the background. I’m impressed with this app.

Gives full screen, full resolution on external display connected to iPad. I was very pleasantly surprised when I just used Screens for the first timeworn an external display attached to my iPad Pro. Rather than simply mirroring the iPad display onto that external display (like most other apps do) instead it gives you a full bleed (edge to edge) full resolution, 16:9 version of the Remote Desktop on the external display. Makes it MUCH more usable. Very impressed.

Great overall, but has limitations. This is one of the best few remote desktop apps for iOS that I’ve used. It seems to have the best support and the fewest bugs. I took off a star, because it doesn’t work well with basic X11 applications such as XTerm, which require a secondary click-and-drag. The two-finger gestures on this app allow only for a secondary click.

iPadOS 16.2 with External Display & Stage Manager is a mess.. As the title states, Screens assumes that your external display is exclusively for its use when running on an M1 or M2 iPad’s screen even with Stage Manager on. It should run in a window like any other app and be movable between the built-in and external displays. Also my remote Mac’s display in Screens is scaled up for some reason making the desktop very small and windows extremely large, regardless of the display being used. The only workaround is to disconnect the external display. Please fix. I find this very disappointing considering how long 16.2 was in beta.

Nice little touches to a great app. I've been a big fan of screens for a while because it is fast, fluid, and reliable. Screens continues to be incredibly fast and fun to use. It's amazing that an indie developer has created such a full featured system complete with the screens connect service as well.

Excellent App for VNC Remoting. I use VNC to connect to several Raspberry Pi systems serving special apps and for development. I was using Re****C but it does not support my little mouse. I stumbled onto Screens. Once I read the docs and switched my Pi’s VNC servers to “VNC Password” authentication the app connects and acts really nice. Mouse and BT keyboard integration is flawless. The more I use Screens, the more I appreciate the care and skill that went into this app. Highly recommended.

Native Alternative for Mac Remote Connect. Couldn’t rate this app better, I’ve been looking for a secure option alternative to using screen sharing native to Mac OS. You may find other screenshqring apps, but this one uses apples native screen sharing server, as long as you have a static IP. If not, they have a desktop app that basically is a DDNS. With this app, I no longer need a Mac to connect securely to another Mac. I no longer use a desktop app because my computers are on a static IP, and I no longer need to pay monthly to a Splashtop or log Me in. This app is the best!

Great app with full support for Magic Keyboard. So glad I sprung for Screens vs. some of the free VNC apps out there. It’s the only one with full, native trackpad support while using the Magic Trackpad with my iPad Pro. This makes the iPad as responsive as a desktop machine when connecting to my VNC hosts. UI is also a delight. Invest in this, it’d the best I’ve encountered.

Connection Problems and Huge Lag. I’ve been having connection issues. Sometimes it connects, but when I try to connect later on, it just says “connecting.” Nothing happens. The times that I’m able to connect, there’s an unacceptably long lag about half the time. Restarting the computer doesn’t fix the problem. Rebooting my iPad fixes it. I contacted support. They asked me to send a report, which I did. They ignored it. Now they want me to send a diagnostic report again (see below), even though they ignored it when I sent one a few weeks ago. I’m now looking for another VNC solution because Screens is unreliable and their support is sketchy.

Accidentally bought app. Hi this app looks great and I was intending to purchase at some time but instead of leaving the App Store app I left my finger on the home button a little too long and I accidentally purchased the app via Touch ID. How can I get a refund please? I’m not going to trash the review or at anything I just don’t have that kind of money at the moment, please help!

Too inconsistent. This app/service was great a while back, but it’s terrible now. There are always issues. For the past couple months, I have been unable to connect remotely to my Mac altogether. And there have been no changes to my Mac settings or the iPad Pro (2018) that I use to connect remotely. The Mac is on and acts as a server 100% of the time. I was happy to find out a few days ago that my ability to connect was unexpectedly restored. However, I am now unable to click on anything. I have always used trackpad mode on my iPad, and it worked well. To be able to see the cursor move now but not click on anything is maddening. This app has killed my ability to get work done when away from my Mac. I would avoid this at all cost until they put out a decent product.

When It Works, It’s Great. I’ve been testing it since purchase last night. I like that it supports encrypted VNC on a local network over SSH. The trouble happens when using Screens with a Bluetooth-connected Apple Keyboard. So far, about a quarter of the time, the on-screen keyboard tries to pop up unnecessarily. When dismissed the toolbar that includes the only way to gracefully terminate the session is shoved to the top and then scrolled out of the window, obscuring both part of the Remote Desktop and leaving me with no way out but to force-quit the app.

Best RDP out there for iOS. I have been using RDP Apps on iPhone for many years, i have been using iTeleport and more but they are all so slow and have very bad Ui. This App has very good speed, UI is beautiful. I also bought the OSX version (Screens 4) and that App replaced the Apple Remote Desktop App, Screens 4 is so much better and i sync all settings smoothly with iCloud. Very good Apps! Thanks

Works but unusable. Hey. I’ll give credit where it’s due. The mouse support for iPad is pretty good. Unfortunately everything else is terrible. The connection is terribly laggy (this is being used in a server room with 10gbps up down wired internet) and I always end up having to reconnect by gorse closing the app. I wish I could still use Chrome Remote Desktop as it was flawless, but unfortunately I need that iPad mouse support. But unfortunately I cannot recommend this to anyone.

This app is terrible. Don’t waste your money. Some reviews mentioned it was better than jump desktop. It’s not even close. This is just a glorified vnc client that is actually quite slow even on local networks. It doesn't work with headless windows servers. You have to have a monitor connected or you get a black screen. This is a known issue on the vnc server they use with it. So for my own use I had three computers to login to, the main windows server I just get a black screen. I have a remote server and it works on that but is very slow. Then there is my MacBook Pro and it works on that kind of but doesn't work nearly as well as jump desktop or parallels access, the UX for this app just isn't good. I was hoping for something usable. Oh and apple no longer gives refunds if you have problems with software, I only had the software 2 days and spent that time just trying to get it working right. This was the last app I plan to purchase on the App Store. Well I guess I got suckered because you do have a beautiful icon, too bad that quality didn't translate to the rest of the app. I hate writing this negative review. If Apple had just given me a refund, for this broken app, I would have just let it go unreviewed.

Amazing with iPad Pro Magic Keyboard. This app in conjunction with the Magic Keyboard has transformed my usage of my iPad Pro 11”. It is now my go to machine for most things. I can leave my 15” MacBook Pro at home and login to it remotely from either my couch or the local coffee shop. I tried Jump Desktop as well but Screens has far better scaling and integration if your main computer runs MacOS. Screens also has a more refined and intuitive UI for adjusting options etc. I just hope they keep working on improving it. For example, I wish I could use the command key etc. on the magic keyboard as well as some of the trackpad gestures associated with MacOS for swiping through multiple desktops etc. Keep it up fellow Canadians and stay safe through this pandemic. Thank you for a great piece of software.

It’s worse now. Do not buy.. I have been a loyal user of this app for a long time. I have purchased the Mac and iPad/iPhone apps, as well as the in-app add-ons. I used to highly recommend this app and advocate for it. However, I am disappointed with the developer's response to my review. Instead of taking responsibility for improving the app, they blamed me for not using another app alongside theirs. They also failed to acknowledge the limitations of their app and suggested that I should have known better. It is frustrating that the developer doesn't seem to care about my experience as a loyal user and instead recommends using another app. This is unacceptable. The app needs to be fixed and updated to meet the standards of 2023. The developer should stop making excuses for issues that other screen sharing apps do not have.

Latest update with trackpad support is stellar. Thank you so much Edovia for getting the trackpad support out so quickly. Using Screens with my remote Mac is now completely transparent. The iPad Pro acts as a perfect thin client. With the LTE connection in the iPad Pro, I can connect and do my work anywhere. It’ll be even better when Apple releases the new Magic Keyboard with the built-in trackpad.

Does not solve my problem. I purchased this to remote into my Mac Mini from an outside network. Following all the instructions, I cannot get my Mini to wake up (even when the hard drive does not sleep and even inside my home network). I sent a ticket to support and never heard from them. The Mac Mini’s energy saver settings are slightly different from a MacBook because there’s no battery mode—not sure if this is the problem.

Support did not find a solution. The developer worked with me to find a solution however when one was not found they did refund the purchase price. Down loaded a more expensive app with Phone support, I had no router issues. This tells me it is in the software of this app that prohibited the hand shake. I guess I’ll never know. Purchased app three days ago. Unable to connect to my MAC using my iPhone. Only way it works is when I’m connected to my home WiFi. That is not what I want to do. Support says I should check my firewall. It is set up correctly. Support says it should be plugged to a power source. It is. Support says to verify settings, verified and correct. Still, not working. Can anyone please offer some help so I can get on with my life?

Wonderful software!. Just what I've been looking for. Does an excellent job of meeting my needs. Have been using logmein for a couple of years. My subscription ran out so I decided to shop around. Ended up with the trial version of Parallels Access which was very good, and infinitely superior to logmein. But Screens topped Parallels, at least for my needs. Cleaner and simpler, yet has just he right features. Very well thought out. No problems so far. Easy to install on my iPad and with a few simple configurations to Sharing in Mac System Preferences I was up and running. Love track pad mode for working in Quickbooks. Recommend very highly to anyone looking to connect to their Mac with their iPad.

Best Remote Access for Mac. It’s the best for the job. It would be 5 stars if it was truly plug and play. The need for an additional program to make it run is a minor annoyance, but annoying nonetheless. That aside, it is the fastest, lightest, most functional of the remote access programs.

Amazing, fabulous, pro tools. Works with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 on the day they shipped. Works on Big Sur the day it shipped. A pro tool for people that value their time and need to get work done. A much better solution than ARD or screen sharing for less than 30 machines to manage.

Fantastic app!. My only wish is that the app could automatically put on the screen curtain when you log in. Update: the directed me to the settings area for the saved screen to enable screen curtain immediately upon login. I hope they can surface this hidden settings area a bit better in a future update.

Pretty cool!. My MacBook Pro is upstairs analyzing neuroscience data and working on a massive TimeMachine backup, I’m in the recliner downstairs with my iPad Pro checking in and clicking buttons when needed. Very nice! The only negative is that I use the Dvorak keyboard layout, so typing characters like _ are next to impossible unless I change the layout. I would be okay with it switching to US when I’m remotely connected.

This is the one you want. Do you have an iPad Pro with a Magic Keybaord and you want to remote control your Mac or PC? Yes. This is the app you want. Not only because it does everything other remote apps do, but because it works perfectly with the magic keyboard trackpad to give you near-perfect mouse control. You can click buttons, resize windows, drag things around your desktop - all with your magic keyboard trackpad. Perfect.

better than back to my mac. such a well crafted application! the fact that it includes mobile support to connect is the dopest part. Cheers to my northern neighbors for your great product. Canada really is awesome, the thoroughness, total OS coverage and easy of setup truly makes my not miss BTMM at all. In fact, it makes apples version happily discontinued! way to go ehh

Wonderful app!!!!. I’ve used Screens for around 8 years and hasn’t disappointed at all. Great user interface, easy to set up and use, and is always coming out with new features no improvements. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good remote software app.

Please fix Send Clipboard. I love this app so much *except* for one feature I use often— Send Clipboard. When I try to use this, more than half the time it disconnects and reconnects the remote mac without actually sending the clipboard. I have to try a few times before it sends it successfully without disconnecting the remote mac. This is consistent behavior on 4 different remote macs I’ve tried, each running different OS versions so it seems to be a problem with the Screens app. I have also tried it from many different iPad and iPhone devices, so it isn’t my local app configuration or install. This has been a bug ever since I started using Screens many years ago. Will it ever be fixed? Will update to 5 stars if it does. Thanks.

Mature Version and Greatly Improved. I have been using Screens since it dropped. It was a little buggy outside of my home network. Sometimes it connected, most times not. I am patient and really like the simplicity and ease of use. Just returned from a 10 day trip to Europe and Screens worked flawlessly everywhere and every time.

Skeptical no more. I saw the price and thought to myself: how can yet another Remote Desktop client possibly be better than the legion of (far cheaper) clients I’ve used for over a decade? Remote clients are about as utilitarian as software comes: just show me the other computer’s screen and let me pass input to it. They do their job by getting out of the way. Screens has managed to pull it off - it’s hands down the best iOS VNC client I’ve used. It has an amount of polish and thought in its design that I didn’t think possible. It “gets out of my way” better than anything else I’ve tried, letting me focus on the task at hand.

Phenominal. Screens was already my go to remote in application and now with the addition of cursor support it takes my workflow to the next level! Using my iPad Pro + Smart Keyboard + Magic Trackpad + an external display = an incredible desktop setup that I can just fold up and take wherever I am needed. Cursor support is extremely well implemented. I would like to seem a few improvements, if possible. I wish the iPad’s cursor could be hidden while controlling another computer. To my knowledge this is possible with the current API. I would also like to disable pinch-to-zoom (on a trackpad) for the application and pass the zoom gesture to the remote computer. Keep up the fantastic work!

Great app, fantastic support!. Screens is extremely well designed and built. It works great and is definitely worth the money. I was having an issue with setting up a certain feature and their support agents responded quickly and helped solve the issue. They were great. Definitely recommend this app!

Handy App by a Great Company. I have used screens for years to remotely connect to various desktop and laptop Macs. The features and performance are great and Edovia continues to enhance the app on all platforms. The iOS version of Screens in particular is rock solid and I love using my iPad to hop on to my Macs and using the same great app and experience on my iPhone in pinch if needed. I also wanted to give a shout out to Edovia. I ran in to an issue with multi-desktop support and they reached out unprompted and help me resolve it, ultimately by rebooting my High Sierra Mac. Thanks guys!

My old review stands. November 15,2017 Each update brings this software to perfection. There is nothing you can’t do remotely with it. I love the in app purchase that allows you to use your iPhone as a trackpad while you remote in with the iPad. Cursor control is better with the trackpad I’ve found. Bottom line if you have to help your parents with their Macs then this is perfect for you. I buy every upgrade they charge for, which is not many, but it says a lot for the quality app they produce. Each version gets better and better. There are several must have apps and this is one. I’ve used Screens since the first version. I don't mind paying what some consider a lot of money for a quality app. This app does remote access very well. I use it to help my Dad when he needs help mostly. It's perfect for family remote assistance.

Worth every penny; I would have paid more.. Amazing suite of products; I bought everything “Screens” related and just was very happy with their support. I highly recommend to anyone who does freelance work or just needs to help their mom; or whatever.

It has been missing essential features for a long time.... Ok, let's start with the good – the app has very nice interface, it is priced very reasonably and I have experienced no crashes so far. However... there still isn't any file sharing support between iOS and MacOS, although at this point this is no longer a limitation of iOS. Additionally, I have experienced a strange glitch in connectivity – the app will not connect over mobile network using a properly port forwarded IPv4 address! It does, however, connect without a problem using IPv6 address! Not sure whether this is an issue with the app itself, or something to do with T-Mobile, but I have been able to successfully port forward bunch of other stuff on my network, so I don't think I have misconfigured anything. Using pfSense for my router.

It just works. I have been looking for a simple way to remote control my MBP from my iPad Pro over my local wifi. I have been disappointed trying many VNC clients. Although the setup warned me that I didn’t have port forwarding enabled (and I won’t be enabling it) it seemed to indicate a doomed installation… it was wrong. I would change the installation message to indicate that it will work — but only for local wifi use — in that situation, instead of giving a failed install error that may cause many users to give up. Also you might consider marketing to that use case, many of us work in the industry and there is zero chance we want to open our stuff for potential ingress from the internet.

Lagging and no full screen feature for iPad Pro.. Overall it’s a great app, I can do what remote pc can do. I don’t expect any more then that. However it doesn’t matter how much I change the ms settings plus I’m using a local network on a dual band wireless ac linksys router and there is a major lag when opening and closing windows and the curser is not in sync with my iPad Pro. All my network traffic is simple just between my iPad and pc, nothing more. Plus there is no full screen feature, for a 12.9” iPad screen I should not have to zoom in and cut half my remote screen off to see.

Invaluable Tool. This is a great way to keep monitoring going for all your remote computers. Due to COVID i have yet to test this outside of a local WiFi network, but otherwise it’s been very nice to use. Definitely better to have a keyboard with whatever you want to monitor with for better control, such as on an iPad, especially if you use multiple spaces pre monitor, but it’s still pretty handy with an iPhone.

Works poorly when iPad or Mac keyboard is Dvorak. I had trouble getting typing to work reliably when either the Mac or the iPad had the keyboard layout set to Dvorak. Regardless of what combination of keyboard settings I tried, there would be some keys that didn’t behave as I needed them to. The rest of the app seems excellent; the developer has gone above and beyond on polish. I hope support for other keyboard layouts will improve.

Could be great. Ok the whole concept of this app could be so great for us designers. I have a macbook pro 16 inch that I use photoshop intensely for. I was so excited for this app because I thought I could use photoshop on the go on my ipad pro remotely from my 16 inch because who is lugging around 4.5 pounds But photoshop does not work. It will open up the software but when it comes to pen support and editing it just doesnt work I guess that would be a game changer if it did. And photoshop for ipad is a complete joke. Any of us pro users know its a liquid form of photoshop. I need to edit photos daily and I cant seem to figure out to be productive on the go. Now for wanting to log into your computer system away from home, grab a file or something than this is good. I really tried to give this app a chance but it doesnt work for me Apple tries with their version but it only works with devices near by and not remotely and their pen support for photoshop works We are in 2021 and us apple users can not use out ipad pros with mac os softwares. Thought I leave this review for those who wanted to get this for photoshop. Sadly it just doesnt work

Frustrating trying to use Mac key commands. Overall, the app works fairly well. The ability to use it in either trackpad mode or touch mode is great. It does a pretty good job of giving me access to my desktop from the couch, which is my main use. There are a number of key commands that I use extensively on macOS that aren’t sent across the connection. In particular, Cmd-Tab, Cmd-` and Cmd-Q, which are used frequently. There is an option in the settings to switch the control and command keys to handle this. It’s a clunky workaround that means using different keys when connected from the iPad, but at least it’s possible to use.

Great and stays great…. I have used Screens for probably 6- 8 years now. I have had the occasional hiccup with connection BUT I’m sure its more on some other hardware settings typically than this software having the issue. Often times signing out and back in fixes it. Anyway its always been there for me, the developer is great. They stay on top of it and are helpful. The way it works is really amazing— its very responsive even when I am on my iPhone and using data instead of Wi-Fi.

Does NOT work with Mojave. I have never written a review and I am certainly not the type of person who writes poor reviews for the sake of it. However, after this experience I believe the right thing to do is to share what happened so others will be forewarned. The issue is if you upgrade to Mojave, this app will no longer work with or without Curtain Mode enabled. I can prove this as I have two other Macs which are still on High Sierra and the app works as expected. I notified the developers’ support team (one in the same?) and they were less than helpful. They never read through my explanation fully, they provided me “solutions” that had nothing to do with my issue (proving they were not reading my emails), they yelled back at me (in all caps), and then they just flat out gave up, encouraging me to ask Apple for a refund. Which cannot be fulfilled since I purchased this app over a year ago (part of me thinks the developer knew this and was just continuing to be unhelpful). *** This issue is with the Edovia software and Mojave (period). ***

Works a treat. Allows me to work remotely from my iPad for certain tasks which require access to my Mac's in the office and at home

Must have. Beautiful, useful and well made

Crashes on iPhone5. Crashes on startup on my iPhone5.

no probs. I’ve used it for years — never had any problems.

Great tool. It may seem pricy, but it works flawlessly.

Almost perfect!. A very good VNC app that supports all OSX control elements, including gestures. My only gripe is that the 2 finger scroll gesture often tries to move the entire window rather than scroll. Otherwise, it's perfect!

Pretty good. Request: please add a setting to control mouse movement sensitivity when in trackpad mode, thank you.

Finally something like iTeleport. Recommend this app as something that works as well as iTeleport used to Have tried many VNC apps including Google’s, this one actually works and is usable

This is beyond good. It’s flawless and has no lag, even on 4g!. What a brilliant app. Was a bit reluctant to shell out $30 for what I assumed would be a slow and laggy experience like most other screen sharing apps I’ve used for iPad/Mac. This is so good. It works perfectly with no issues. I especially love trackpad mode where even the tiniest clickable things are clickable. Can’t believe there is no lag at all! It does everything it says so on the label and does it brilliantly. What an app! A utility app has never gotten me this excited.

Milking loyal customers. Screens is awesome, but I don't feel valued as a customer.

Great support for best remote access app. This is the best remote access app and their support is prompt and really helpful. I'm a developer and I rely on this app to do my work but I also have to test iOS and OSX betas. I reported a crash on an iOS beta and support got back to me quickly to let me know a fix was on the way. Keep up the great work!

Best VNC app. This is still the best app for VNC connections in my opinion. Though I disagree with the way they have done the User Interface (UI). With this new version the icon and the look and feel of the app have gone backward in my opinion, so much I am going to hold onto version 2 of the app for awhile longer.

Super Useful. I’ve used this for years now from the iPhone. It is fast and easy to use and super convenient. Now with the big iPad screen it is virtually like using the actual computer. Worth every penny.

It just works. Love it, can access my Mac from anywhere

Just great.. It does what is says unlike some apps. Great business tool and surprise messages to loved ones 😊

Sensational. Simple and easy to use, it just keeps getting better and better.

Easiest and best. Tried a few and Screens wins hands down for ease of use and feature set. I manage a private schools network from my iPhone with Screens

Worth the upgrade. I was hesitant to upgrade, given the cost and that the old version just worked. But once I upgraded it was totally worth it. So much faster and responsive.

Unreliable and a false economy. Looking for an alternative to GoToMyPC for my 2-person business since switching to iOS and Mac OS X from Windows, but this isn't it as it simply fails to work in too often. I'm very tech savvy but can't discern any failure pattern except that increasing security options is more likely to lead to failure. GoToMyPC just works with options enabled for maximum security.

Bad at testing their updates. latest update broke the keyboard (both software keyboard and hardware keyboard) on iPad Pro platform. They need to test their software better. It’s now unusable.

Very good. Works very well with Mac. Not so well with Windows 7. On one PC running Windows 7 Ultimate, I can access it on Wifi but not on 4G from my iPad and iPhone. On another PC with W7 Ultimate, I can't sign in with the server. When I enter my username and password, I get the message that the program has stopped working. Have written to support but no reply three days later. Poor.

Fantastic app!. I had been using another VNC app to connect back to my home Mac Pro from my iPad, the ease of Screens really blows it out of the water.

Fantastic!. I was sad to hear that people had dropped their reviews because they switched to a beta iOS and didn't fully understand what this means. I lived with the app crashing because this is the nature of betas and the right thing to do is bug report, not have a whinge. So after seeing such a prompt update to help out those of us with the beta doing the right thing, also shutting up the sooks, bravo!

Best Remote Access App. I've been using it for years, worth every cent, pony up the money, it's worth it.

Version 4 is much improved.. Now my go-to remote screen app.

Why didn't I upgrade sooner. The previous version worked really well so I never bothered upgrading until now. I didn't think I would use the extra features, but now I can't imagine the app without them. Great stuff

Great app. Allows me to easily connect to my mac whilst on the go; job done!

Just a fantastic app. Nothing more needs to be said

Only as good as your connection. As the title suggests, it is only as good as your connection. I’ve been using in out back Australia where the internet / mobile speeds are shockingly slow. The app, however, works great albeit with poor latency (again due to connection speeds and not the app).

I genuinely love this app. Intuitive, powerful, solid.... It's an all-too-rare perfection of the Apple ethos actually. A non-technical, but no Luddite, can buy & install expensive software that allows one to connect 2 X MBP, 1 X Mac Mini, 1 X iPad & 1 X iPhone easily and simply, within 30 dedicated minutes. But this time, it ALL just WORKS, the FIRST time, the way it's MEANT to. Just the way they say it will. It's BETTER than they say it will be. In my world, that's very rare. It's very simple to use, it's rock-solid at doing what it says on the box, and IMHO a good looking product too. Seriously, this app is worth ten stars compared to some of the other "⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️" apps I've bought and discarded quickly. I have ZERO vested interest of any kind whatsoever, beyond being a long suffering app-a-holic, whose done all filtering and believes this is the winner, FWIW..... Cheers, Simon

Nice Fast Easy. I been using RealVNC but got fed up with difficulty of licensing and renewing but this App works much better with multiple screens and has easier setup.

Best VNC out there!. Great look and feel, easy to use and setup and extremely capable. Screens Connect runs very well with this app. Definitely the best app on my iPhone. I would be happy to recommend it any day!

Great remote control app. Does what it says on the tin and does it with style and convenience.

Perfect for basic VNC / Remote Desktop Needs. The perfect app for when I need to quickly log into a co-worker's computer and do basic troubleshooting. The log-off actions are great to make sure when I log off from my own machine the screen saver turns on. Great app.

Wow! I’m actually so impressed!. This works even better than I imagined it would. It’s practically seamless over a local network, with almost no lag with everyday use. Absolutely worth it!

Best VNC app. I can't believe people would rate this app 1 star for not working on a beta operating system.

YOUR APP CRASHES EVERY-TIME INSTANTLY. NOT WORTH THE $30 This keeps on crashing continuously, I’m on the latest software, I’ve restarted my iPad, I’ve off loaded and reinstalled and it is still in responsive

Great app made better. Screens is one of my main apps I use and rely on almost daily. After some initial hiccups, Screens 4 is even better now with much better iPad Pro Smart Keyboard support. If only my experience with their Mac OS version is better...

Fantastic, Stable, Easy. I use this app on my iPhone and my iPad, along with the desktop version to access about 7 different computers. The app is so easy and intuitive and makes getting quick things done very easy. It's the perfect way to quickly set a remote connection and log in. It's the sole way I help family in Canada when I'm in Australia, and although understandably a bit slow over 3G/LTE, the connections always work. In fact I've now had this installed for 6 years without having physical access to my mother's computer and it is still working! Even better, they are keeping up with public iOS beta issues, so great! Highly recommended app! Amended July 2015 - continues to be a great amazing!!

Another Money Grab. Didn't we pay enough when we bought this app? Good on the developer for putting their hand out for more money for a dark theme, seriously?! Track pad for a extra few bucks? Meh. It's 2016, where is screens' automation and other innovations?

The only VNC app you should use.. Have been using screens for 3 years now and it's the best app for controlling remote computers. Easy set up via the simple app that is downloaded on your computer. They made it so easy that anyone can set it up and start using - no need to have an understanding of the VNC protocol at all.

First review I have felt moved to write. An already excellent app that nevertheless manages to improve with each iteration, it has become an essential part of my workday.

Still the best. Great dev support. Does everything it says it does.. Works well. Great interface and highly functional app.

What happened to this app?. I used to love Screens, and recommended it to everybody! As of late (iOS 15?) it’s turned into a hot mess. Hangs, crashes, frequent disconnects, screen corruption – what’s going on? It is now a pain to use. I hope the developer gets the crash logs and an update will fix these issues soon.

Brilliant. I love this app. I administer a couple of OS X servers and need to kick off renders for film work... I can do this over VPN from my home, cafe, out and about. Brilliant!

Best remote access app available on iOS. Screens is absolutely the greatest app for accessing computers remotely you can get. I've been using it for a couple of years now and the fact that it was updated to support iOS 8 and iPhone 6/6 Plus screens on day one cements it as the best in my mind. If you haven't already, you need to purchase this app as well as the Mac counterpart.

Great VNC app. I have used many VNC apps. Been using screen for years on iOS and Mac. I find it easy to use and does the job.

There's no audio. There's no audio

Fantastic Tool. I use this app to manage a few mac minis via IPad offsite, fantastic piece of software. Reliable, powerful and easy to use. I also rely on their desktop product.

iPhone X. Screen ratio totally bugged on iPhone 10, also the auto login option is not working anymore.

Brilliant. With an iPad Pro and Screens, I can leave my laptop in my office and work pretty much anywhere. If I've forgotten to put a document on iCloud or Onedrive, I can tunnel back to my computer to drop it where it needs to be. And on wifi I can be anywhere in the house and use programs on the Mac that are not on my iPad. It works really well. Make sure there are no 'routers' between your modem and router, however. My Vonage box was causing problems, but it was an easy fix to just put it downstream of my router, and then everything worked perfectly. I recommend very highly.

Great app. I have a few remote Macs that I need to manage and this app in combination with screens connect (free) installed on the remote Macs is great. The setup once you have created an account is simple and does not require any technical knowledge. Reconnecting is fast. Good, inexpensive solution.

THE BEST!. I've used a bunch of VNC apps over the years. For me nothing comes close to Screens. It's quick, easy to use and has regular updates. You owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Absolutely perfect. I own logmein and splashtop. Both are inferior to this app IMO. It works and looks and runs like a mac app. And it gets the resolution on iOS correctly every time. Highly recommended!

The reason why I leave my laptop at home. As a marketer and graphic designer, I’m able to get through most workdays with just my iPad Pro. On the occasions where I need to use software that’s only available on my MacBook? Screens keeps me from lugging both devices around. I’m not going to lie, even using the free Screens Connect service it was initially a pain to get Screens to connect reliably to my laptop... but the issue seemed to be with how MacOS dealt with wake on network commands. After a few Google searches and a bit of trial-and-error, I found settings that made the connection work smoothly. My only persistent complaint is that the in-app purchase that allows a connected phone to act as a touchpad is jerkier than using either iOS device’s touchpad mode directly... and is missing the Force Feedback click. I noticed that as of Screens’ update for iOS 11 the connection to my laptop is smoother and downloads faster through the same mediocre work wifi connection. Either the copper wiring in our building improved overnight or this is a really good update.

Really Good. It would be nice if you could drag and drop files. But I can see how that could be an issue with the difference in OS. But So far I don’t have any issues with the service . It does need some maintenance here and there but that is only to keep up with software updates.

Great App. This app is essential and very well designed. I would not hesitate to buy again.

Bloody amazing. ...and it works seamlessly

Simple, powerful Remote Desktop app. Fantastically useful when you need to access your computer remotely. Great control setup too—intuitive yet capable.

Worth it. Even though I had some technical issue, support stuff replied swiftly and helped me to figure out what caused issue and solve it. Also, eventually, this is a matter of preference, but as you can confirm the GUI is sophisticated and beautiful which makes it intuitive. I definitely recommend this app.

Excellent!!!. The best VNC client I’ve ever used. Mobile app has many innovative features that make VNC usable on a touchscreen. Well worth the purchase price.

VNC Done Right. I use Screens many times every day to interact with my desktop computer from the iPad or iPhone I have to hand. It works. Not "it works" as in "it’s functional" but that it really works hard to get everything just right. There’s little to no chrome. The interface to the app itself vanishes and you feel like you’re dealing with a window into your giant desktop monitor (or, in my case, monitors). Screens has become an invaluable app for me and I happily endorse it.

Working again!. Good VNC client; probably the best out there. Now compatible with IOS 9 -- It’s working again!! Good thing we impatients users don’t have access to developper releases! ;)

Not my first choice. It’s ok, but not outstanding. I still much rather use Splashtop.

Best remote screen app. Screens continues to ve the premium remote screen app. The attention to detail and usability is fantastic. I can control a large iMac screen from my iPhone without and trouble whatsoever. I highly recommend it.

Clear and pretty app. Use this app daily to access my mac mini from an iPhone. Great clear app which I was happy to upgrade too.

Spying on users!!. This app keeps calling home anytime you open it. Not sure why this developer is so obsessed how often paid customers open / close this app!! On another note, why he’s advertising for 1Password?? Is this not a paid app? Would you accept if Apple hard code print to Canon printers as default? What if I have HP printer? Do I have to change it each and every time I want to print??

Crashing - still. The new update for the update still has this crashing within seconds of launch

Heard great things, but .... Lots of good buzz about Screens, but I'm not usually able to remote in to my Mac from my iPad (and I know my way around OS X and iOS). I'm sure the tech IS there, but the user friendliness factor is low. Don't expect this to be plug and play.

Updated to newest version and it stopped workinf. Don't upgrade. 1 star now

Keep the free support!. Honest & hard working developer deserve honest rating. ;)

Trackpad support!!!. Thanks Edovia for adding this!

Works great. I’m not computer savvy AT ALL, yet I managed to set up all three apps of the screens collection on all my devices and laptop in under 15 mins. So far they all work smoothly. Four stars for now, will update in a few days/weeks once I get more use out of them.

doesn’t work. not sure what to say. it has one job. it doesn’t do it.

Average joe. Has not worked since upgrading to version 4.0.3 will not connect to computer on iPhone. Authentication times out

Excellent.. I’ve tried lots of remote login screen sharing apps in the past, and Screens is the best combination of easy to set up and use, fast interaction with the remote computer, and reliability. Only complaint, but I don’t know if it’s their fault. I use an Eero router and had to manually configure the reserved IP for the Mac and manually configure it’s port forwarding. The experience would be a lot smoother if somehow this were automatic. But, it might be a feature missing from Eero.

Exactly what was advertised. Easy to set up with ScreenConnect, and exactly what was advertised. Very happy so far.

Perfection. Does what it says on the tin, well designed and well executed app. Thank you for Screens.

So far, so good. Works as expected

Screens Rules!. Love working on my iPad Pro, but can’t do without a lot of the functionality on my iMac. Screens has been the single best App investment that I have made. The time lag, smaller details on screen and control gestures took some getting used to, but now I am a bomb on my iPad wherever I go!

Local purple. My iPad is never purple on local, lot of trouble connecting 😡

Fantastic tool. I love screens, can’t say enough good things.

Wow, one of the easiest screen sharing apps I have ever used. Extremely easy set up and very good documentation to make sure you get up and running. I was surprised at how fast the response was between computer and the iPad. Will save me trips back to work when I forgot to copy the file I was working on .

Too many updates killed it. It was working fine for a couple months and after a couple of updates it’s now broken.

Too Frustrating / Poor Support. I used Screens successfully for some time. After switching to a new computer, could not set up Screens Connect. Their instructions direct to portforward.com but my router wasn’t listed, so no luck. When I explained this to Screen “support”, their suggestion was only: “reboot”! I tried Jump Desktop instead. It installed completely smoothly and works great. P.S In response to the developer response to my negative review. I did give you a chance. I mentioned that I had rebooted. Your next suggestion was to set up manually. It should have been obvious from my very first email to you that this was exactly what I was trying to do. And contrary to your response I did give you the name of the router in my initial communication. Please take the time to read the communication of someone who makes the effort. If you had, you could have done better than just say “reboot” or set up manually.

No Subscription. Thanks guys for not going subscription. This app is truly one of the best iOS apps out there.

Best VNC application hands down. This app is well worth the price and your investment is safe. They are always keeping the app up to date, stable, and add great new features early and often.

#1 remote desktop app. This is the best way to use your Mac remotely.

Not cheap.... But you get what you pay for. Using iPad as primary computer, however, there always seems to be 1 or 2 things a day that require me to go back to desk and fire up PC. This has solved that better than I’d hoped. Will update review if necessary, but so far works very reliably and without limitations.

Wonderful. I use this nearly every day. I can't imagine going back to the alternatives.

My #1 App. I have used screens now for over a decade. I use it to connect to all my devices running Linux, OSX, Solaris and even Windows. it's always been reliable and is the App I use most.

Does not work with a vpn. DOES NOT WORK WITH A VPN DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY TRYING TOMGRT IT TO WORK IF YOU ARE USING A VPN.

I love this app. It assists me control a number of my home computers from the comfort of any room. I’ve used it for years, and it has always been top-notch.

Keeps on disconnecting. I have had this connect to my Linux host once, but the keyboard did not work and then it proceeded to disconnect. Seems incredibly flaky in this regard.

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. Solid app with multi platform support. Customer service quick to help and resolve any issues.

Best Screen Share App Around. This app is amazing! Does exactly what it says it does and does it well! The app works fast, frequently updated and the customer support is outstanding! Look no further than Screens!

Decent Features, Bad VNC Performance. Using an iPad Pro 10.5”, IOS 11.0.3, and Screens 4.5.1. Screens is *much* less performant than “VNC Viewer” on the same iPad, controlling the same machines (OSX and Ubuntu). Unless this is an isolated case, I’m confused how this app has a nearly 5 star rating. Sure, VNC isn’t the fastest way to control a remote machine, but Screens redraw/performance is noticeably worse than the competition :-(

Amazing. I have owned this app for what feels like an eternity now, and even today, it still gets free updates. Developers like this are a lost breed. This is a fantastic app with great quality and usability all around. It’s my go-to in terms of VNC connections.

Refund. Is it possible to refund the money for this purchase? I bought it on accident.

Micro transactions on a $20 app!?. The app itself works pretty well, and setting it up across different platforms is simple enough... my biggest gripe is that the developer throwing on micro transactions for things that I would expect an app this expensive to have. Nothing beats a prompt to spend even more money on an app.

Doesn’t work. Bought for use with my iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard to connect to my 15” MacBook Pro. After contacting the company several times it just doesn’t work and can’t live up to its promise. Disappointing as this would’ve been a huge help, but I’ve resorted to using Notes for my word documents and now just copy and paste them over (I don’t like Google Dogs or Pages). After the purchase I hope some updates will fix the issues, lots of potential.

A must-have to remotely control your Mac. I use the app mostly on my phone (and occasionally on the iPad) to check on Mac desktops and servers. Indispensable.

Could Be Better. Decent UI and good ability to connect to computers remotely. On Ubuntu, running into an issue where resolution is squished with big black bars on the top and bottom. Even when using the xrandr command to resize the VNC session. Not being able to get to a full screen resolution is a deal breaker.

Perfect - new iPad keyboard with Trackpad and remote macOS machine management. Wonderful tool for remotely managing Macs. In the car, in the living room, saves a trip to the office

Great for connecting to my mac from the ipad or iphone. It works good for connecting to my mac. With the external keyboard, I get the best Emacs experience I can get on an ipad.

Need app launcher. If your Mac is in full screen mode, it is very hard to use since the dock might be suppressed. If the app had a shortcut to the app launcher, this issue would be resolved

Well-designed product, responsive developer. The app developer was very responsive to my feedback. The app is well-designed.

Refund back money cheater. I purchased this just one hour before and found problems. It is not connecting remote pc window 10 through email address and even screen connect app is not compatible with window server 2008. And my that pc also not showing in my email in iPad connection. Futher I tryied to connect support and report was not sending through iPad saying me internet problem

Works extremely well, very useful. Works extremely well, very useful. I use to access 5 remote Mac's of various vintages in my house. Works with all of them - exactly as you would expect. Really well written software.

Limited. I bought this thinking it was a client/server app, but it requires you to open ports on your router to function remotely, but you can’t do this if you’re on a Carrier-Grade Network (CGN), which many ISPs are these days. Hope they fix this because it looks to be a great app.

Reduces complexity to simplicity. There can be issues in setting up any remote accEss system, but Screens helps simplify it and it works simply and elegantly.

Took forever to setup. Running MBP 2018, iPad Pro 2021, ATT Fiber (w Modem), TP Link Router. Took 4 hours to setup. Horrible nightmare scenario of trying to figure out why it wouldn’t connect. Connected on local WiFi. Seems to work so far. Will test on remote connection soon and see how that goes. Will update after that.

Works good. No complaints, connects and works as expected. Accurately sends keyboard commands, unlike some others I’ve tried.

Jump Desktop is better. Screens is alright as a VNC client and has some neat features like curtain mode and using an iPhone as a trackpad. But generally Jump Desktop is better at everything else, easier setup, automatic screen resolution switching, a hier performance remote desktop protocol called fluid.

Can't get it to function. I installed screens connect on all my Macs and PCs and can't connect to any of them because of a port forwarding issue. The instructions on how to manually open ports and do all the stuff I thought this app would do for me is confusing and haven't had time to mess with everything to get it working.

Fantastic app, used weekly for nearly 10 years. Screens is a fantastic app

Best integration between my MacMini and iPad. I am able to make use of my iPad AIr 2 with a smart Bluetooth keyboard to access my MacMni remotely.. I will definitely consider leaving my MacBook Air at home when I travel.

Great VPN!. Fits like a glove with the Mac UI! Most keyboard shortcuts work, too. Fast auto scrolling with a robust connection. I use it a lot on my Apple iPad Pro 12.9” to control my dual display iMac at home. Works great!

Essential App. If you need to login or control a computer from your phone, you’ve found your app. Great design, responsive developer, quality software. Look no further.

Hold to Send Password is Great. Didn't know this feature existed until looking into release notes as to why the action button looked different. This new feature is awesome, great job!

This app changed my life. Anywhere I am in the world, I can access and use my home computer. What is better than that?

Better than Parallel’s Access. This App has matured and is a solid option a small business can afford. Thank you.

Does not work with multiple screens. I have to remember to unplug my external monitors every night or the mouse clicks will not work when connected, rendering it virtually unusable. Just powering them off is not enough. It is a bit of a pain. When it works, it works well.

Superb in every way. REALLY happy with this app. Use it all the time. Tried many free and paid VNC apps over the years and this one is the best. Overall, I'm glad I spent $ to support the development of a great VNC app. This one is loaded with features and has great design.

Fastest VNC I’ve tested. Fastest VNC I’ve tested so far, but I’m not sure if I’ve fully secured my connection between my iPad and my mac. I’ve tried importing my RSA SSH key and it keeps failing and unable to recognize the clipboard or check if it was imported from Finder/iTunes

Can’t use Photoshop. Got this to use Photoshop from my iPad but the pen doesn’t function properly and it’s response is also delayed. I can’t believe I have to wait to get billed for this just so I can request a refund. Disappointing. I’m sure there’s something this is useful for but I can’t think of what I could be.

Desktop App Doesn’t work. The app works fines, minus all bugging for upgrades. The desktop app (on Windows anyway) is really buggy. I can connect fine, even using a separate DNS service (duckdns). But Screens Connect never worked just stuck on trying to map port.

Don’t buy. I hate it. Hoping to hear from the developer. I would like my money back! Can’t use it on my MacBook Pro. Lot of hassle to set it up. Got it set up and can’t get on the internet. I have to change the settings to get back on. I’m not going to change my settings every time I leave without my laptop! And then have to change when I get home so I can use the internet. This is not user friendly!

The Gold Standard of VNC Clients. Get this app if you ever need to access your computers remotely. And then go get the MacOS version, too. (Tip: It's part of the SetApp subscription service. A great service if you're a Mac user.)

No PC or Linux client. This is a one directional VNC service, meaning you can connect from an Apple device to PC or Linux, but not vice versa. Support was not helpful and claimed not to have any experience with VNC apps even though TightVNC is installed alongside Screens Connect! Come on! You guys have no interest in a Windows Client, fine, at least help me out after putting $50 into your ecosystem.

I like screens. I hate being harassed for a rating.. Screens is a good app, provided you don’t mind paying for something and then not having an option to decline to rate it. I wouldn’t mind a request I could decline, but you either rate it or pick “not now,” meaning you’re going to get asked again and again till you give in. Well, okay. Here’s your rating then. Hope it was worth it.

Customer Service. I was having an issue with logging in. A quick response back from Screens Customer Service pointed me to a static IP issue I was having. I’m back in business! A great app for productivity while I’m away from home!

Great app and support!. This is a terrific app. I connect via port forwarding on my router and it works perfectly. Also works great on my local network if I’m too lazy to get up and go to my Mac. Support is first rate.

BEST REMOTE APP FOR Mac. After Back To My Mac was deprecated I was looking for an alternative to remote to my Mac remotely. Found this app and paid for both the iOS and Mac versions. Have absolutely no complaints, everything works as it should!

Continuously impressed and delighted. The connection information, the nice gestures, the amount of control... I am so impressed and so happy with this app. Thank you!!

Still no Bluetooth mouse support!. I can’t believe the Citrix X1 or other iOS mice aren’t supported that is the sole reason I decided to be a JumpDesktop user and is such a core experience to using a mouse/keyboard based computer. I’ve tried the iPhone as a trackpad thing and it just isn’t the same, no where near as good for serious use.

Terrible Tech Support. Terrible tech support. Pretty much said to me, i need to figure out how to make it work. They made zero effort to accommodate me. Their lack of support would be the reason i would say to find a more customer friendly option. If I could give zero stars, that would still have been too many. Worst ever

Remote Access to your home computer is nearly impossible or CUMBERSOME.. Need to re-emphasize the IP Issue dilemma. ( Dynamic vs Static ) for those who wished to remotely access their home computer. Apparently, it is up to me and the Network Provider to figure it out. Screens Phone apps worked only if you are in range WiFi connected within the same Network. Be warned !! No Refund. No doubt that the concept is there, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Frustrating. Half the time I can’t connect to my Mac mini.

Does not work. I followed all instructions on the description of the developer. I could connect perfect within my network. Then left the home, and never any of my registered devices show up. There is nothing in the setting description that I could do additionally... Useless and money to the garbage

Worked with this for a week.... ... and I still can’t get it to work. It’s fine locally, but, of course, that’s not what I need it for, so I’m searching elsewhere for something more intuitive. Even with Screens Connect it wouldn’t work properly.

Simple, Clean, and Effective. This is an excellent screen sharing application, and I highly recommend it. I use it to access Mac and Linux hosts on my local network from my iPad and iPhone. Works flawlessly every time.

Great app, great support. The app itself is great and works as advertised. I connect my iPad to my Mac desktop when I need a little extra horsepower. I found a glitch involving modifier keys. I reported it to Edivia’s support, and they fixed it a couple days later in their next release. Thanks!

Favorite VNC client. Love the app, works really good. You should know your way around the network setup you use at home in order to allow Screens to work. It does it’s best to help when it can but be prepared to setup forwarding ports if you have two routers and such complicates stuff.
