Stuck on loading, can’t get in. Was able to open my Medicare card through the app, now I can’t get in - it just hangs

MyGov ID. It would be useful to add the MyGov ID login option into the app. Since MyGov ID has been verified, it makes sense to add this option. Thanks!

Unbelievable. Had very low expectations but it is excellent. Easy to use, full of information and well built. Well done Australian government!

It's fine. Better than expected. I've used for a couple of medicare rebate claims—that alone is a time saver. Also allows checking of claim history. And changed my bank details. Can't do 2-way-claim with private health insurer.

Doesn't work. Doesn't work

Can't get in!!. This app has fatal bugs and hasn't been thought through fully. It should come with a comprehensive info page on how to sign up & use the app. It doesn't explain that you need to create an account online first. Also, there is a bug that doesn't allow to log in. I'm stuck at the 'processing' thinking wheel once my passcode is typed in.... Useless app right now.

Very bad for accessing proof of vaccination. This app has consistent errors where when you try to click ‘view proof of vaccination’, the app logs you out and claims that there has been an error and to try again later. It takes several repetitions of logging in to finally get the app to display proof of vaccination - very inefficient and frustrating to use, especially when attempting to show proof of vaccination to gain entry into places.

Good update. Finally a good feature added: saving my immunisation history so I can access it without logging in. Why can’t I also save my claims history or my Medicare card? And where’s FaceID??

Australian government computer expertise on display. Eventually did the job it’s intended for. Once. Now refuses to do it again. Fingerprints of the ongoing catastrophe that is MyGov all over it. Initial login was painful due to what appears to by MyGov’s incompetently executed login form that shifts the form and loses focus when you try to paste in a password from a password manager (everyone should use a secure password manager). After eventually getting past this it did show the vaccination certificate and I could move it to the state app. Now however when I try to get the updated certificate it consistently dumps me to the login screen with a dialog saying “Logged out. Service not available, please try again later.” I’m sure there’s a reason this service breaking logs the user out and because I’ve seen Australian governments interact with technology I’m sure this reason is idiotic. It’s just another death by a thousand cuts example of an Australia government doing technology badly. Do better.

Too easy to sign out by mistake. Works well overall, but it’s too easy to sign out by mistake. The “Sign in as …” and “Sign in as someone else” buttons are too close together. If you’re fat-fingered like me, or elderly and with poor motor control like my parents, it’s too easy to hit the wrong button and get signed out. A simple UI change to move the “Sign in as someone else” button elsewhere would make this app less frustrating to use.

Can’t view offline vaccine certificate. I did the update on the app and now when I go to click on the view offline items tab to view my COVID certificate it just closes the app down. Can this be looked at as I guess I’m not the only one this is happening to.

Good. I just used the app on my phone and now I know what to do it was easy as anything, but you have to log into my gov au first then it is link up to Medicare the only thing is you finish up with lots of codes in your email account and on the phone.

Urgent fix. This app keeps rejecting the password step . Have deleted the app many times and tried again and again with the same message error for the password which is correct on my part .How can we get the Covid certificate online when you cannot even open the app. Urgent fix needed. Rubbish app. Why do we pay our tax money for useless garbage like this . Perhaps ask a young school child who’s learning computer studies to design the app so that it works just fine and it’s easy to access

Express Medicare App (Australia). I’ve been using it for years and it’s worked fine. Today I noticed the App had disappeared from my IPhone. I found it in the App Store and it indicated I should open it, which I did. Apparently it had been getting updated or system was being serviced. It worked straight away, as it did normally in the past, so I lodged my claim and left the App. Normally the Icon would remain in view until opened again. But it was still missing from my display of Apps, as it was before I lodged the claim today. What has happened and how can I get it back?

Needs to support Wallet. I got the app mainly because I wanted the digital Medicare card. This app would be more useful if it supported Wallet, that way I can access all my cards in one place rather than having to dive into multiple apps. If banks, cinemas, and airlines can do it, I see no reason why it can’t be done here.

Worst App. Honestly what a debacle of an app, nothing is easy or straightforward even logging in is a drama only to find out that it needs a new version. Congratulations to the team that created this abomination of an app. You have outdone yourselves

App just lock. Haven’t used it for a while, but while trying to log back on . It appears that normal processes is getting locked. So I tried deleting apps and reinstalling. Same thing happened. But if I try logging back as someone else, I was able to get back in. Input all details and pin and was back in again. Seems to be okay

Error with my CORRECT number. I’ve been trying to add my vax certificate to my Services Victoria app and this is part of the process, to go through the Medicare app Since I’m on multiple cards it’s showing the Medicare number and IRN that I have entered are invalid. This is the only official proof I have of my vaccination and I need it to go to work, obviously you can see how incredibly important it is for this to actually function? Wish me luck that I’m not on hold for too long to Medicare for a paper certificate

CRASH BANG THUD!. One of the most frustrating apps I’ve ever tried to use. How much of tax payers dollars were wasted creating something that just doesn’t work? How are people supposed to get their covid vaccination certificates if they can’t access the app? Very frustrating, a waste of time, not worth even downloading. Technology was supposed to make our lives easier but somehow the Australian Federal Government managed to find a way to make technology more painful than getting a tooth pulled!

Still some parts could be improved. Normally the app idea is really good but there are some parts that could be improved. 1. I have the multiple Medicare card, every time I login, I need one more step, which is enter the number I would love to login in. It is a little bit annoying. I hope that I can set up the default card setting in the app and not ask again and again when I login. 2. Hope that we could us face ID or Touch ID to login the app, instead of enter the pin.

Terrible neverending log in cycle. I have MyGov set up properly and linked to Medicare on browser. I even have the myGovID app set up. But this stupid app won’t let me put in my pin and makes me re-log in from scratch, then tells me ‘sorry this account already has a pin set up’ … I see from other users that this login round robin is a common issue. Fix the app please. It’s 2021, it should not be this hard. AND COVID vaccine passports are a thing now so we need this fixed.

Had to delete. Total rubbish, typical government based tool. Full of bugs and doesn’t link in with other services well which is the very thing it’s for. Couldn’t recognise my privacy questions from other health sites to gain the info it needs. Done the same thing via the web no issues but try again on this app and a day later continually trying deleted it. Don’t waste your time , it’s like waiting for Morrison to step up and actually make a decision that benefits the nation and not his commercial interests- never going to happen .

Works fine. No problems for me once I’d set it up properly. It responds well to my PIN login and all editing and linkage was saved and works as required. It seems an efficient and effective way to check your Medicare activities, including providing a COVID vaccination “passport”.

Logs you out, can’t click to enter password. Absolutely rubbish app, so many errors and constantly logs you out. Won’t let you use pin, so redirects you to myGov to set up a pin which, surprise surprise, tells you already HAVE a pin! Glad this didn’t happen while waiting in line at a doctors office. Why did I hav Roy jump through so many hoops to simply log in? And why are we logged out at all? With digital wallets common these days you would think you’d get it right?

More user testing required; extremely poor user experience. 1) app didn’t send text messages when I logged in with MyGov ID, but did when I used my email. 2) phone user data entry fields “jump around” and make it very difficult to copy / paste provider numbers. 3) app logged out just as I was about to submit 4) going back to make corrections deletes all form data from forward pages, requiring full data re-entry 5) needs a “start over” button 6) there is no “review of what you entered” at the end to make a final check. Sorry team of programmers, maybe the budget was too tight, but the user experience is terrible. Please do some more user testing on multiple platforms with a range of age users. Very disappointing. Thanks.

COVID vac cert not accepted. This Medicare app let me put my vaccination certificate in my iPhone wallet, very handy. But because the certificate in the wallet does not show my vaccination dates the staf of Sydney library were not allowed to let me in. Could add the dates to the certificate that can go in the wallet. (I am aware that the dates are on the PDF cert, but that is not the one that goes in the iPhone wallet)

Please fix. The app no longer saves my immunisation history offline. It allows you to do it, then you try to access it and it is not there. It was working before the last update.

Really convenient. This app allows me to avoid attending a service centre to lodge claims, which is appreciated and very convenient. The latest version (4.0.1) doesn’t seem to allow me to open and view documents once attached though, which I found useful on older versions so that I could check they were readable before submitting. It’d be appreciated if that functionality could be restored. Thanks :)

A very non user friendly app. I have tried repeatedly to link Medicare it won’t accept my identity because I have a post office box address which I have always had, my card get delivered to post office box due to security. I was trying to get my vaccination passport which the Doctor told me was available impossible. Now have to spend hours on the phone trying to sort it out.. Totally non user friendly…

Digital Card Requires Internet. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any other place to provide feedback about the app, therefore having to use this medium to do that. When there isn’t any mobile coverage, which isn’t uncommon in some buildings, it becomes impossible to log into the app and bring up your digital card. This puts you in a difficult situation if you don’t have the physical card with you. To support offline scenarios, it would be best to allow adding the medicare card to apple wallet similar to our vaccination certificates.

Too many bugs. It would be great if it was workable.... too many bugs. You set up an account, then it keeps asking you to set up a new account, then says account already exists with a pin... but won’t let you enter the pin... you try again with the same email address and it asks you to set up the account again.... and so on and on.. Very frustrating ... clearly not enough QA before implementation.

Can’t access covid certificate. Won’t open covid certificate keep getting logged out service not available message try again later I get this every single time! Kind of useless when we need to access our kids certificates for proof of vaccination or your own and can’t seem to do that.. have to go through the lengthy process of logging into your my gov account everytime which is pointless when you should be able to access it quickly through the Medicare express app.. incredibly frustrating and clearly you guys aren’t interested in fixing any issues with your pointless app

No complaints here. I don’t understand why users who have trouble linking MyGov to Medicare would give the app 1 star. Not the app’s fault. It’s a basic app, a bit on the slow side but has always done everything I need: manual claims, checking family immunisations, safety net.

I’m sick of it!. App was working now tells me account suspended try again 2 hours. Have been trying for days. Same message. Deleted/reinstalled app, no difference. Can access MyGov and Medicare using computer without any problems. Tried ringing MyGov help, total waste of hours listening to a recording telling me how busy the system is. Can’t remember a worse experience than this.

Non-functional and useless.. Need your vaccination certificate? Well don’t bother trying to register for Medicare or link mygov services here - it doesn’t work. Who would have thought that the needlessly complex, stupidly convoluted process of linking multiple government services from multiple sources would not be reliable. Just because the government says you need a vaccination certificate doesn’t mean the government needs to have functional digital services to support vaccination certificates I guess….

Another Health Dept debacle. This is just an endless round-robin of failed logins and contradictory text messages confirming your app and mygov accounts have been linked. Then they become inaccessible again. This is not my experience alone, but check the reviews of many users saying the same. I have worked as a systems programmer and management consultant in the computer industry. This app is just a disgrace. No wonder government sites are regularly hacked. If the federal government and its health minister were diligent and competent this app wouldn’t be inflicted on users. But, of course, there is the answer.

Good Attempt to Help! More can be done...?. I would love to have the ability to help you help yourself! Your app has helped many, vs the awful queues that used to happen at the centres; I love that about the app. No need to go into a medicare office most of the time! You could expand that and offer secure phone or video calls through your app like banking apps offer. Take learnings from private sector. Also offer GP SERVICES through the app and update your system, given the fact you are so far from the inflation level you've made it a loss to everyone! Yet we are taxed the highest in the world!!?? Thanks

PIN?. Emails get generated late when you initially register your MyGov account on the app. There is no option to put in a PIN after you set one up. The only option available is to “sign in” which puts you through a loophole of sending another email, which ends up with an error message saying a PIN has already been set up.

Poorly designed and written. Put simply doesn’t work. If its not on fire, it’s a software problem... my phone is not on fire. The application software is sub par and does not link reliably or effectively to Mygov. I agree with most other reviewers who end up in a catch 22 situation because you can’t access your medicare account without linking it to Mygov and Mygov won’t link to Medicare because the details are incorrect. Phone support lines refer you back to online help which is simply not helpful and if you wait for an operator it simply tells you none are available and to call back later before hanging up. As a taxpayer, i find it simply unacceptable that such a simple service cannot be accessed. Be nice if we could fine the government or withhold tax in retribution for things like this, as they would do to us if we can’t administer ourselves properly. This whole system is set up to fail and is a complete waste of time. Not impressed.

A few glitchy things. There is a few glitches that seem to make this a pain for me to use 1) I’m apparently on multiple Medicare cards and it does ask to ‘remember which one’. It does not remember and asks me each time. 2) the login screen glitches out when you try to paste (say from a password manager) 3) it ‘forgets’ my pin and when I go back to reset it it says ‘this was already your pin’ Clearly a hastily thrown together web wrapper that needs massive improvement

Not a bad app, but…... Not a bad app, but the UI is pretty frustrating. Why can’t I log in with my finger print instead of using a PIN number like some sort of caveman. Also why is the logout option buried down in the menu tree instead of being on the Home Screen?

Functional but needs an upgrade. App does the job but is in dire need of an upgrade to interface and login (constant bugs and doesn’t take faceid). The COVID certificate works well enough but needs more security. It’s also hard to see why a COVID passport can go in the Apple wallet but a standard digital Medicare card can’t.

Please fix covid digital certificate download. Found the app quite good so far but got my second covid vaccine & can't download pdf copy of my certificate. None of the buttons on the menu work ie send via message, email, print, save to files...all option buttons don't do anything, please fix so we can download our certificate!

And your point is. Trying to link vaccine status to the worse myGovID has proven to be just as expected. Our own government (elected by the people) can’t even work together to create a seamless product. My son cannot be linked to my service Victoria app even though he is under the legitimate age to use the app but can’t go to a restaurant because he can’t prove his vaccinations unless we are with him. Listen to the people, don’t just make idiotic choices because you live in a basement and your mum told you to do it this way. Could be so much better

Worked fine for me. Not sure of the reason(s) for all the other reviewers’ problems, but it worked fine for me. May update this if that changes!

Can’t proceed past card details page. I’ve had the app downloaded for a while and it had been working fine. All of a sudden I can’t view anything because the app wants me to update card details (even though I already have). I can’t proceed because it says my card has already been entered. I can’t skip this step. I tried deleting and re-downloading the app but it immediately takes me back to the card details. It’s useless unless this issue is solved. Please fix this as I need to have access to my vaccination history.

Stupid. Medicare app is completely useless when ordering a new Medicare card for myself. I’ve gone on the Medicare app and proceeded to change my postal address as I no longer live with my parents, then it prompts me to order a new Medicare card and number and redirects me to services Australia. Here, I then follow the steps on ‘how to get a new Medicare card online’ to which it then tells me to download the my gov and create an account if you don’t already have one, thus telling me to go back to where I came from. So i go back on the app, and oh that’s right, I get redirected to services Australia, who would’ve thought. And it’s one endless loop of utter misery. What a brilliant app, and not at all a waste of time.

Fix this issue!!!!. I tried making a Medicare account and even though I followed all the instructions, it always shows the same message: “an error occurred please try again later”. I mean, this is ridiculous. If the app doesn’t even work, how on earth are you supposed to be use it then? I am trying to get my vaccination certificate but it seems you’re app is useless as well as a waste of space. It’s ridiculous and you should do something about this issue without twiddling your thumbs and saying you’re going to fix the issue.

I feel everyone’s pain!. I have joint account with my wife, on the card she is 1 I am 2, do you think it would be simple enough to be able to log in and download both of our Covid 19 certificates, I managed to get mine after 3 days of talking to Medicare I still don’t have my wife’s certificate, same old story go to myGov, they tell me go to Medicare, I feel like a tennis ball. Why can’t I just simply log on and get both certificates, we have a joint card we have been married 40 years , my wife has no email address we have one we have shared since computer birth, we don’t want any other email addresses, why is it so hard do do the most simplest request. We have been told by Medicare to come to the office to ask for a hard copy, they can’t email me this information even then they can only give me a hard copy. MEDICARE YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE COMPUTER RACE FOLLOWED BY MYGOV AND CENTER LINK YOU ALL NEED REEDUCATING TO HOW A REAL EFFICIENT BUSINESS RUNS. Don’t try to use computers if you don’t know what you are doing.

The app is garbage. I can’t even log in because I linked my account on my mygov then when I tried to sign in using mygov on the app it told me to use my pin next time and signs me out then when I press sign in again there’s no option for a pin and I can’t sign in with mygov because it re links my account and then signs me out and tells me to use the pin next time again.

Shocking. Can’t download the new version. Keeps asking for iTunes password and it will get me in so far and to show me my details then ask me password again. I use this for rebates. Last week was fine but now seem to be stuck and I can’t claim so now I have to go into highpoint??? Get it right people.. we disabled cannot travel to claim it’s ridiculous. Fix it!!

Won’t link to Medicare through MyGov. I’ve done all the prerequisite steps of linking my Medicare account with my MyGov, online, but when I try to log in to Medicare through MyGov in this app, it wrongly says I don’t have my Medicare linked to MyGov. I’ve tried about 30 times throughout the day to see if I can rectify it. All I want is my Covid vaccines in my Wallet on my phone. But I can’t even get that. Rubbish government app.

April update has bugs. Just updated the app before trying to save my International vaccination certificate for offline viewing, and the “Save for offline” option no longer appears. Followed the online instructions which said to delete the previous version first. That didn’t help, so I now have no offline certificates saved.

Account permanently locked.. Hope you like getting trapped going around in circles with “help” lines. Couldnt log onto the app as every time I tried it said that my Medicare account was permanently locked. MyGov support says to recreate my account to fix this issue. I do that 3 times in 2 days and eveytime I call myGov they say call Medicare. Medicare says call myGov and the best response I get (after the last 50 minute phone call) is that the person on the phone is “baffled” and they suggest I recreate my whole myGov account again even though I can access mygov and see that Medicare is successfully linked to it on a browser. Take this app down and don’t make it available again until the bugs are fixed.

Doesn’t work at all. Like many reviews. Logged in using MyGov login. Was immediately taken into a pin set up. Pin was set up successfully. Tried to continue to app and was asked for pin, entered it and got a “Logged out, service unavailable” message. Closing app and going back in takes me straight to pin page again, producing the same error. Clicked on login as someone else, and same error message once going through the login process. Considering all the reviews, how does this even get released? To the app developers, if you want some tips about running an IT project, you can contact me (or anyone with more than 5 minutes of experience).

Please fix!! Same issue as Error1234 !!!. Just as Error1234 said on 12thNov, you can’t seem to get past the initial card details part without it showing “an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.” My card details are also correct. I’ve used this app for years to lodge claims and never had a problem. Last week this error started showing. I came back to it today and still appears! How are we supposed to use any function of the app if we can’t even get past the initial stage?? Please fix this problem as this problem has not gone away since trying for a week!!
