HuntWise review. Great app all around. Have been using it for just about a season and a half now and I always look to it the night before I hunt, and even 2-3 days before I will hunt. I have multiple stands set up where I hunt, so the app lets me see the wind that day and I can choose the best stand by seeing the wind with the app. Also future temperature drops to plan to hunt. Great map layers. Just a great app to use if ur a hunter of any kind. You can even filter in Turkey, and other wild game depending on the season it is. They also give you bits of knowledge about each phase of the hunting season! 100% download and use.

Great product. Pretty great and simple to use. Ita This is a feature request that is so simple and makes so much common sense that I thinkbit was just over looked. But On the feeds it would be amazing if everyone’s post included their geo location (state and county) and then I would want the ability to filter and search by those location. Some people do include their location but most do not. Personally, I am more interested in the hunts that have occurred around where I live, I don’t really care as much about seeing ppl who made kills in Texas when I live and hunt in Kentucky. I would rather see how the hunters around me are doing.

Used to love it. I used to love this app, over time they have continued to try and force the hand of the user to subscribe to their payment fees. Most recently they started blocking prediction info on certain days. So if you want to use this as a free app then you are now stuck hoping they don’t block the day you intend to hunt. I will keep this on my phone for a few more months to see if they correct this ridiculous update, otherwise I will utilize a number of other apps that provide the same info. I liked the layout of this app best but refuse to pay $4.17 a month to get a rough idea of weather/wind/barometric pressure when there are innumerable options that cost $0. Hope they return the access before next season.

Money grab…. It’s a great app and have been using it for years. I am just not happy with how the developers are trying to create more of a money grab like all other apps now by changing up the features for free users… I recommended this app to a friend and he was turned off from it as the developers decided to instead of building more on their community features, they decided to restrict free users to only weekday forecasts not weekends and other features. It doesn’t even make sense to have this app unless you want to pay $20 a month or $60 a year for the first upgrade.

Biggest advancement in hunting since guns. Explaining what I think could make it better is gonna be way shorter than my positive feedback. The ideal wind directions could be spilt into 10 degree increments or so to give a more specific range for each stand (or atleast down to N, NNE, NE, NEE etc.) Add when the moon is overhead and underfoot to the moonrise and moonset times. And make adjusting the time on the predictions a vertical slider or something, bit difficult with the new iPhone being without a Home Button and having to use gloves in cold weather. That is all I can think of. Literally wrote an IG and FB post to tell all my hunting buddies to download this and plug in their info ASAP. Great job guys 👍🏼👌🏼

Hunting. I honestly think it a is good app to have but if the you want to use it for when it is a good time to hunt or the weather it bc i have seen more on when the percentage is down then it was high. But overall it is good app to have when you dont know where the property line are. When you are hunting a new property or different state. And i have my friends that use it for when they are riding atv just for the property lines.

Best Hunting app Available. This app is fast becoming my favorite go to hunting app. I love all the functions and options for scouting, and predicting weather. I only have one complaint, it seems that the satellite imagery is a little out of date. I hunt a place with a huge clear-cut that was cut about five years ago, and in the app it still shows it as being mature timber. Other than that, I love it!

Amazing app. I love this app I use it every day and the only thing I don’t like is all the options/features that I’m missing out on because of the pro deals. I want all of my friends and others to start hunting and to help them they should start by getting an app to help them ,but the pro membership limits almost everything on the app. I’m only 12 so I don’t want to spend $60 a month for an app I only use on the weekends or in the summer I only have $60 period.

Can get a response from customer service. Don’t get me wrong I love the app it’s very accurate with land owners and contact information but when it came time for my pro subscription to auto renew at the $53 that I paid when I started using the app, the money came out of my bank account around the beginning of June and it is now July 1st and I still am unable to use my subscription because for some reason it expired even though payment came out…….tried contacting twice ( once on the app and once on the internet) with no response and I’m becoming very irritated that I’m unable to use an app that I have auto paid for and can’t get in touch or a response from HuntWise to resolve the situation!!!!

Perfect place to consolidate!. I’ve hunted in multiple states for 45+ years. I’ve had great memories of hunts in the past but, just memories. With HuntWise, it’s been incredible to consolidate the memories with locations! How? Dropping those pins, places notes about what occurred for that pin to drop (the sightings, years & types of harvest) and adding photos to help plan for the next hint as well as remember the previous. Harvests, sightings, scrapes, bedding areas, camps, all in one visible place, right at my finger tips! Visible sight of the land and terrain from the maps only makes it better. 10/10!

Not worth it. As someone who is willing to try things and give them a chance. What I noticed with a lot of apps similar to this one, the in-app purchases. I get it as far as making a profit. However, in the times we live in, not many can afford said purchases or able to have subscriptions. I will be deleting the app as it really isn’t all that great. There are No algorithms that can gauge with Any real accuracy of how well you will do. I get the property lines and such. Yet shut certain features when that’s the most popular time for most hunters who may not be able to get weekends off. It’s the same with fishing. I am the one to blame. I should just trust my many yrs of huge success in fishing and hunting. To rely on tech to put food on the table, forget trophies, not a real hunter or fisherman then in my opinion.

Knowledge is power. The HuntWise App is crucial when hunting or hiking trails. I have the ability to scout new areas before I hunt them and love the multiple map layers to better understand the terrain. The app helps me find saddles, potential bedding areas, wetlands, and food sources. I plot my path marks so I never get lost or go off the best route when entering or exiting in the dark. I also use the app for new hunting opportunities or tracking a deer on the neighbors property. The app is very updated with landowner names, phone numbers, and addresses so you are one step ahead when contacting them. Hands down the best app for hunting.

So far so good. I put 2 of these cameras in my favorite haunts. One is constantly sending me pics and probably will exceed my monthly allotment before the month is up. The other has sent one photo. I’ll be interested to see if it is operational. My complaint is I am paying $84 apiece for 2 cameras on the standard plan but Spypoint wants another $100 bucks to use all of the features. I don’t know but I don’t think I will be expanding my arsenal.

Best Hunting App on the Market. You will not find a better app to meet literally any of your hunting needs. The maps are up to date and well done. The whitetail hunting predictions are extremely helpful. The user interface is easy to use. They have programs with top brands for gear discounts. And above all else, they’re an extremely helpful and hands on company. I love HuntWise and can’t say enough good about the app they’ve built.

Five Stars. I love the HuntWise app. The mapping tool helps me decide where to hunt on which day. It tells me wind direction and shows me which stand is best any given day and time. I also love the the tracking tool. I shot a buck on November 17 and was able to record our tracking path and mark blood. The app also shows land owner names and property lines which allowed me to know the owner of the neighboring property to call him and get permission to track. HuntWise is the ideal tool for any hunter. It makes scouting and preparing for the season easier, and helped me be successful in the 2018 hunting season. I recommend every hunter download it and start using it today!

Review. When these apps first came out I burned through the free trial on all of them that I could find. When it was time to pay I chose HuntWise. I’ve been a user for 3 years now and don’t plan to ever switch. It’s cheaper than OnX for all state property lines and the mapping seems to always be updating to the current state of the lands. They have added a lot of cool features and updates in these 3 years and I don’t see them stopping anytime soon. I’m also an avid artifact hunter and this app is great for finding new lands to seek permission to hunt on. Did I also mention that HuntWise has a social Media attached to the app? It’s similar to Facebook but without all of the gossip, just awesome people posting about their outdoors adventures/hobbies.

Updates have ruined this app. This app used to be very easy, friendly to use. But with the updates over the last year, it’s become difficult and doesn’t work properly. I’ve got all my stands marked. You used to be able to click one and it’d give you the hunt forecast. Now, it just shows wind direction. If you view your hunt forecast, it takes you to your current location and wants you to scroll on the map to view your stands…well, they don’t show up when moving around. I’ve also found that the landowners maps aren’t accurate. Also, I’ve used the map and my current location to try and find stands or trail cameras that I’ve had marked. It’s difficult and doesn’t orient you very easy. Used to be just as easy as Google Maps. I’ve been paying for Pro version, but going to cancel as soon as i move all my stand locations to a new app.

For the little people too. As a newer hunter wasn’t sure what to expect on our new small plot of land (less than 8 acres). Since using this app (summer 2019) I have located 5 bucks and really able to identify key hunting features bringing my game to the next level. Might only be 8 acres. It marking activity has changed my approach instead of crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Love this app and it’s updates are always getting better.

Not happy with now having to pay for what was originally free.. I got this app around when it first came out and it was amazing. Everything was pretty much free at first but since then more and more things have been removed from the free version and you’re made to pay for access to things that used to be free. I don’t use the property line feature because there is a better app for that called Regrid. The only thing this app is good for in my mind is the downwind feature and the ability to place specific markers on your map. I’m a little upset that even though I got the app when everything was free I now have to pay to access the rut cast on the weekends, which to be honest, were never really accurate to begin with. I shot my buck at 8:00am opening day last year and it showed very little potential on the rut cast.

Improvements. Not a bad app would recommend. Hoping to see updates coming to the logging system. Wish you could log animals by Stand so you can keep track what was harvested and where on your property. Also wish it had an option so I could put where my feeders are located. As I hunt in Texas it is legal to use corn feeders. Basically if they could put in almost like a journal system so you can keep track of all the animals harvested by each stand or location on the property that would be great

So far not so good. I’ve had HuntWise on my iPhone for a few years. It was a free app when I started using it. It was also very easy to use and an almost perfect app for a hunter. I had 7 stands marked and could open the app and check all the stands for wind, moon phase, temp etc. in about three minutes. But all good things come to an end. HuntWise started to “improve” the app and wanted everyone to purchase the new one. So they started to take away from the free one. This month I gave up and upgraded to the Pro. So far not impressed at all. From the pics on the come-on’s to upgrade I thought I would be getting what used to be free. Wrong! So far it is amazingly difficult to use. My original stands are on the map but not listed. So the only way to get to the stand is use my finger to move the map to the stand. Once there all that is shown is the stand itself, no wind direction....nothing! Then when I try to get a prediction the app immediately defaults to my home. I’ll play with the app some more but I doubt that I’ll be a HuntWise costumer much longer. If they would get back to what they had when it was free, simple to use and very informative, I would gladly pay.

Very useful app. Could use a couple of simple additions... Love the app, use it to mark down everything I see. A couple of things that I have experienced that I hope can be improved: When you have very bad reception and are recording your path, the recorded path will erase entirely when you go somewhere and have no reception. I understand not being able to continue the recorded path at that point, but it would be VERY helpful if it would auto save the path that was being recorded up to that point, and also if it would have an option to automatically resume the path whenever you get back into an area with reception. Second, I wish that it would show your current elevation when you are creating a marker or recording a path. No need to continuously track elevation, but i would love to be able to see what elevation the path began and ended at, with occasional updates every 500 feet up or down, or something like that. At the very least, having the best guess at current elevation when pinning a marker would be awesome. Other than those two things, it works awesome and I will continue to use it and pay the membership during the seasons I use it often.

Half way decent. Just gonna start out by saying this is the first review I have ever left on an app… but I’m doing it bc I take my hunting seriously. With that being said I do have to start out by saying the mapping side of things are great but I wouldn’t recommend getting it to see ur best whitetail movement prediction bc from what I’ve seen it’s way wrong!!! When it shows that I have a high chance of movement I see nothing, but this morning it showed I had a 0% chance of movement and it has been the best morning hunt for me this season

GREAT application - Until it has problems loading.. To be clear, I enjoy the application. I pay for the Elite version, which is ALOT of money for myself to invest in an app, & normally wouldn’t do. Which says a lot about Huntwise’s App. That being said, I pay all of that money, & sometimes the application simply will not load things, or is slow to load them; pictures refuse to load in “Land for Sale”, map layers take forever, ect. I’ve done everything I can to speed it up. Clear cache data on phone & app. Delete & reinstall. Restart my phone. Ect. But sometimes it simply just refuses to load things. Even with a good connection. I like the App, but I refuse to pay that much money for an app that will sometimes work to its full potential. I’m not paying for a “sometimes amazing” app. Hope there is something they can do. Soon.

Can’t beat it for the money. I use this app mainly for property lines and the mapping. Other apps are way more expensive a year for literally only one state worth of property lines. The 3D feature has to be the best thing about it, being able to look at a 3D map of the terrain in a hilly area really improves scouting. Only downfall is the map doesn’t show a lot of smaller creeks that are in the woods, but I can usually pull up google maps and it’ll show me if I’m really curious. I’ve never tried any of the weather stuff or go off of any of the “hunt predictions” so I can’t say anything about those. Truly if you want to know the weather check it on your phone and get out there in the woods regardless because it’s unpredictable. All in all tho it’s a very useful thing to have if you want to pay for the membership.

Just so so. I like many things about it, but there’s a few I don’t. First, I’ve set an alert for activity above 81%, and I’ve seen predictions at 100% and have yet to receive an alert. Second, I don’t like that the 15 day forecast changes every hour. If the hunt cast is at 5pm and the prediction is 0% at that time, it shows that entire day on the 15 day forecast as 0. If at 6pm the hunt cast updates and the 6pm prediction is movement at 70%, it will change the 15 day forecast to 70%. So, hour by hour the 15 day forecast changes. Inconvenient when you have to click on each individual day to see what’s really happening that day.

Last Year’s Version WAS Great. I loved it last year but now they updated it and instead of showing my hunting area, the map always uses my current location. Why in the heck do I need to know info on my neighborhood instead of my farm? I have relocated my farm six times and every time I reload the app it goes right back to my current location. I will not be renewing!

Don’t do the update!!!. I used Hunt Wise a lot & liked it a lot until they pushed the “better idea” with the update. So I updated the app even this I was satisfy with the app before updating it. After I updated it, I lost about 1/3 of my hunting markers on my phone. I will not update the app on my iPad at this point. Both my iPhone & iPad were hooked together before I updated my phone app. I contacted the customer service & they worked on my problem for several days & then they stopped contacting me about the problem they created. I contacted them back & they asked for more info to try & find my markers. I gave it to them & never heard any more from them. That has been about two weeks ago. At one time, it was a good app. Now it won’t hold water. I will finally delete it at some point cause there is another that’s real similar that I also use as a double check.

Awesome app. This is honestly one of the best things to happen for hunting for me. It makes it super easy to pre scout an area and pre game where to put stands before you even see the property. The offline map feature is a life saver when hunting in areas without cell reception. Not to mention the property lines it shows and the owner of that property as well, no more asking every neighbor till you get it right, all that info is now at your fingertips. 5/5 will/would recommend

Can’t Do Without. Been using HW for 5 years now, I promise you I can’t live without it!! Been times when I got turned around deep in the woods in the dark, I pull out my phone, open HW and it shows the direction I’m walking and I walk directly to my stand!! Wind predictions are also great to know what stand I am going to sit!! I use to keep separate notes of every hunt, separate! Now I make the note in HW for each stand!!! Boundary lines, daily predictions, stand comparisons, marking your walk path, and many more features I love!!!

New map update.. Loved the app for the maps and everything that comes with it aswell. I’m an elite member and would recommend this app to any hunter. Until this new update. Before the update I had my dot/pin of where I was always with the click of a button and I could zoom in and out and follow my dot and it was super smooth and my dot wouldn’t go away. Now it goes away when I try and swipe around the map and I have to constantly tap that stupid icon to get my dot/pin back to see where I am only to lose it again when I simply try and swipe and tap on the screen. New update for the maps is terrible. Please fix this. I’m sick of losing my spot when wondering on my utv. Never used to be this way. Depressing.

What happened ?. What happened to this app??? I have probably well over 500 feet on the ground pins spanning from the New Jersey all the way out to Colorado. I have years invested in this app. Where did our direction cone go? Can’t tell you how many time I’ve been turned around in the dark because of this being removed. When I first started using this app it was superior to me against all other Hunting map programs. You had better map options and the app as a whole was easy to use. Please bring back the direction cone I’m on the brink of switching.

The weather. Are you going to do the rut timing like Jeff Sturges did last year ? He talked about pre -rut, lock down , peek rut , then post rut . I’ve expanded my food plots at least in one area, and have already been to the butcher shop 3 times this year this in an improvement compared to last year. As of right now I can’t get the hunt wise to work it says oops try again

Best mapping app!. We own 20 acres in Oregon and I have struggled with other apps to map our trails and camera locations until fortune smiled. On a recent vacation to Lake Norman in North Carolina My wife and I met a man and his family at a local restaurant and asked what line of work he was in. He said he worked at Sportsman Tracker and then went on to explain a little about what they did. Later that evening I downloaded the free HuntWise app and wow! Free app was great and on my return home to Oregon upgraded to Pro version which is way beyond what I expected. Also did a little research and found out the “employee” from Sportsman Tracker was Jeff Courter the CEO and founder of the company! Great product, great “employees” and humility. Will be checking out your fishing app as well. The Bakers

Good when it works. The good: Excellent tips on deer hunting, good satellite photos, really like the wind direction stuff and the deer hunting predictions, great GPS accuracy. The bad: Does not flip when turning the phone or IPad as it would be nice to use in landscape mode occasionally, it tends to lose my wind data for my blinds & stands occasionally (especially after and update) causing me to have to re-submit my blinds with the wind data, it does not differentiate between deer stands & duck blinds when predicting in an area for my wind data as a duck & deer require opposite winds.

Pay or the highway. Man, I used this hunting app all last season and loved it. I loved it so much, that I paid for the top package throughout my hunting season. I come back this year, and the free version is basically worthless. Can’t see anything on the weekends. Makes me not want to pay for the app. I love WHS but I think this is a step in the wrong direction. Don’t forget where we came from, don’t forget the small timers, or maybe even the high school kids that can’t afford the high price line. With 100’s of hunting prediction apps, I think this is the wrong step in direction. If the app was still somewhat even useable for Fri-Sunday I’d consider buying the subscription again. Bummed

Shady Business Practices/Information Collection. I can’t trust this app because of their shady web community practices. Huntwise operates like a scammer. They post myriad "product pages" that appear in search results like a desirable product in stock at a good price. The purchase link says, "sign in to buy." You have to create an account--including verifying a live mobile phone number (a valuable commodity for them to sell; already associated with a product interest) in order to find out that the "product page" is just a link to a store somewhere who once had that product for sale. (They mostly seem to be dead links.) After they have collected your information, there is no mechanism to delete your account or remove your information. You just remain a registered “user” (presumably improving stats for their funding rounds??) If you email them to ask for your account to be deleted, they will remind you that their service (verifying your email and cell phone to send you to a discontinued Cabela’s product page) helped you discover new products. Sure, I needed to trade my identity to them to discover that Cabela’s sells jackets. That’s shameless. I consider these guys scammers.

Huntwise Best App. This is absolutely the best app an outdoorsmen social media app an outdoorsman could ask for! First, the map features are absolutely great! Especially with the pro subscription! The community is absolutely wonderful and everyone is very supportive! The gear tab (where you can buy gear) is wonderful and useful! You can set a pin on the map for where certain things are such as stands, blinds, trailcams, etc. are at! One thing that would be nice is the ability to post video, but I still give this app five stars and a big thumbs up to all the people at Huntwise HQ!

Overpriced for bloat and doesn’t work as advertised.. I’m not wasting my time going into detail again as the appstore keeps deleting my review but this app charged me $120 when I clicked start 7 day trial and the pro layers don’t even work and the rest of the features are either available in free version or just extended (like the 15 day forecast instead of the free 2 day forecast). Greedy developers instead of hunters trying to help other hunters. Got to love corporate america, the indians sold their souls for casinos and Jeff and the rest of the hunters sold their souls to charge some unfortunately low mental capacity individuals $120 a year for something clunky that used to be free. The good reviews are from before the update. Beware!

Great app that you don’t have to break the bank for.. Most apps, if not all, have asked me for $30+ just to get some simple info for hunting. So far this app gives you everything you need in the free/standard version, almost more than you would get while paying for other apps. I love how easy to use it is and gives you so much info, I can track my stands, paths, weather, everything. Don’t waste your time with the other apps, I’ve tried them all. I also love the social part of it, sharing your harvests, info, tips, it’s great, and the shop has some great prices.

Honest Thoughts. I’ve been using this app for now 2 deer seasons. I live in north central Texas (cross Timbers) and I will say that in the year and a half that I have been using this, it has never been useful. The map features are awesome. The scientific data and “hunt percentage” is worthless. If the science and data was collected by specific regions. It would be more helpful. To my understanding, this app collects local weather data and takes the most generic science of white tail movements and give you their best guest. I’ve hunted all my life, so I understand that even the best experts won’t get it right every time. But how is a north west deer going to be similar to a north central Texas deer ? I am extremely frustrated, and unless things change I will not be paying for this anymore at the end of my 1 year contract. I bought this app with high hopes to learn about the deer in my region. Not get thrown information that is the most generic. Sorry guys, On X may be worth your time. This app aside from the mapping features may not be worth your time. Especially if you live in Texas, where deer hunting is the most unique than anywhere else.

Best Hunting App EVER. I have been using this app for the past 2+ years. When I first started I was using the free version and it was okay. I would often find myself using it and another free version hunt app for different features. I decided to upgrade to the Premium version and really liked it. So much that I deleted the other app. This year I upgraded to the elite membership and LOVE all the features!! If you haven’t tried this hunting app yet you should- it’s a big game changer.

Use it Everyday. I only came here to complain about the new update, everything else is amazing. This app works with my day to day life. Whether it’s weather, pressure, wind, rut, etc. But with this new update it now no longer specifies certain temperatures, pressure, etc. it feels less user friendly as well as promoting new videos on each different tool. I don’t like the update at all but will definitely keep using this app. Hopefully it changes a little bit but I still recommend this app over any other hunting app. I’ve used most.

This app and community has made me a better hunter. I would like to thank everyone at HuntWise for creating an atmosphere that has inspired me to become a better outdoorsman! From their algorithms that help me plan out my trips to utilizing the community to get recommendations and see others success. Whether you are a seasoned vet or starting out, having HuntWise is a must that will keep you active in your hunting lifestyle!

Unhappy. I’ve had this app for over a year now and I thought it was a great app to have for hunting. But now that I’m getting into full hunting mode this year and starting to use the app I’m finding that me pay $10 a month for the pro subscription is becoming pointless. For example, I’ve gone out and sat many times now based upon the movement predictions and times and honestly they a far from accurate especially since I just got done with an all day 12 hour sit and I saw absolutely nothing. I even talked with a few other hunters that hunt in the same public land that I hunt and they said they didn’t see anything at all either. Very unhappy with the app. Therefore I will be canceling my subscription and go back to hunting the way I used to by stepping outside and watching the weather.

Was great at Pro.... Really enjoyed all the features offered at Pro and for the price, it wasn’t bad but now there’s a new level to the pyramid “Elite” which cost considerably more. What happened to adding a couple new features and leaving the price where it was? Companies always have to 1-up themselves. All that being said, at pro level before the “elite” got dropped, I really enjoyed the app and the features. Mostly climate accurate and I really liked huntcast and the ability to download maps for offline use.

Needs Improvements. App did not factor in daylight savings time for sunrise time and movement prediction varies wildly within a short time period. I was checking the hunting conditions for Sunday on Saturday evening and it initially said 83%, I then checked the app at 10pm before I went to bed and it went down to 24%. I decided to go hunting anyway and when I got on stand the app said 99% movement probability. The selling feature of this app is to be able to plan your hunts for the best days, but if the prediction can vary that much within 12 hours, what’s the point?

Great useful hunting app. I’ve been using this Hunting app for 2 years now and it’s no nonsense and navigation is great. I tried 2 other hunting apps lately because of the hype they were getting and they were not user friendly, pushed advertising and product tabs instead of concentrating on it being a useful easy to navigate tool. HuntWise nailed it in my opinion and was more reasonable per annual cost.

Good idea but.... I find all of the tools in this app very interesting but it needs some serious adjusting. The forecast needs to be tuned because it says that my house in Southern California has about a 65% of having moose at 1pm. The maps are also not up to date and show locations that I know have changed like lakes that have receded and dried up. I checked and it showed that my high school football field was under construction when it was completed over three years ago. A more accurate map is very important for what this map is trying to do.

Landowner and lines out of date. I have been using this app for several years. I started using it to find property to purchase. I thought it was helping… In Jan 2022 I purchased a large parcel that was split in half. In Aug 2022 I asked app support why the lines and owners were not up to date. They said they would update by requesting county data. In Oct 2022 I asked why it was still not updated. They said it takes 3-6 months. In Jan 2023 I ask again, still not updated. They say “we appreciate your patience” but continue to promote the app for finding landowner info for hunting. People will be wasting their time with that feature. You’d think the state of Michigan would be up to date seeing the app owner is based in Grand Rapids. Unfortunately the property lines and land owner info is at least 18 months out of date. The app is 4.5/5 but map detail is 2/5.

Unhappy. Nothing canadian friendly with in app, 😡😡

Disappointed. It doesn’t seem to work up here in Canada and doesn’t show any maps. I changed the units to metric in the settings but they didn’t convert. I paid a lot for something that doesn’t work and now I’m stuck with it for a year. Really disappointed.

Awesome. App predicted 7am as best time in my area - bagged an 8 pointer at 7:11! Wind direction feature is a great feature.

Very cool!. Great integration of mapping allows creating favourite hunting locations and tracking of hunting buddies.

5 issues, with hopefully constructive input.. 1) Performance degradation once I have a few markers and paths at a hunt location. The map starts glitching really bad. Needs serious performance improvement. 2) When recording a walking track, it drops often and loses the recording. Other GPS map apps don’t do that. Needs to be fixed. 3) Over reliance on cell signal, the app goes blank and unresponsive when cell signal is poor/interrupted, it should do better data caching, the app content shouldn’t go “blank” so to speak. 4) I can only speak for whitetails, but the HuntCast algorithm doesn’t take strong wind and heavy inclement weather into consideration, it should factor that in to decrease the probability during those periods. 5) Should offer more comparable level of content to Canada. I understand the Canadian population and market share is much less, but the hunting culture is strong in Canada and also many travel annually from the States to hunt in Canada. We are right next door after all! P.S. how can I find out what is in each update? The descriptions for all the updates are still the same as it 2021-01-31. Thanks!

Grate app. This is a grate app just some maps could be updated in some areas.

It's crap.. The old version was a lot better. Bring back the fishing side, colour base map, and add the ability to add and save tracks/trails to the map then this will be the ultimate outdoor app.

1 problem. The app looks great and I hope I can use it in the future. But can you please add Canadian provinces (specifically Alberta).

Sucks since update. I used this app last year to try to learn more about patterns. It’s explained things very well. The new update has decimated that use altogether. You pay $30 a month and it still explains nothing. It’s fun to have to use to kill time in the field, but that’s about it. It didn’t accurately predict movement in my area at all, but it’s fun to look at the factors contributing to movement and see how it comes together. It’s just a cash grab app and weather apps can provide the same level of detail. I’m just stunned at the monthly charge for the quality it provides. I wouldn’t pay $30 for a lifetime subscription, that’s how little it offers. Paying $30 a month for sweet f all is ridiculous. Apple Music is a third of that and gives you access to almost every song ever. So for this overblown weather app a $1.37 monthly subscription price would be more approachable.

Old layout better. I really liked the old layout. The new one is much less easy to use. I much prefer the old one. It would be great if it was reset to the old one.

Use this all the time.. A great app that is pretty accurate. Still have to play the weather. 😃👍

No Canadian waterfowl maps. Please add Canadian maps

Locations. This is a good app It would be awesome if we could share saved locations with buddies New stands, blinds, deer sign etc.

Hunt wise reveiw. I have requested a satellite image a long time ago because theres a cloud in the way of my stand and it never got done other that that its pretty good

Doesn’t work in Canada. Please add same features available in USA for Canadian hunters.

Sweet little app. But.... I can never look at hunt cast, when I need it it never works, any day I’m not planning on going out it works fine, anytime I really need it. Won’t load.

Not that great. Can never use it in the bush and doesn’t work without wifi .... always logging me off and ya it sucks would like my money back!!

From useful to useless. This used to be a great app. Since the last “upgrade “, it’s completely useless. The mapping was never as good as HuntStand but that was fine. I used the other features, that were free and worked. Now the free version only has limited features, like the predictions, and they’re useless. Either 0% or 100%(not based on anything), weather doesn’t work. I have deleted and reinstalled several times hoping the limited features would at least work properly. They don’t.

Love the App - could use minor upgrades to make it easier. This app is fantastic, and the pro version is well worth the small money fee if you're and avid hunter. One of the things I wish it did - which I’m sure would be possible in an update - is the addition of an overlay for public / private land. So, public land might have an optional green shadow overlay and private an optional red.

Development Issues. Very poorly developed app. I tried to create an account and only got 2 steps in before the app glitched. I completely closed the app out on my phone and tried again and same thing. Even restarted my phone cause that usually fixes everything, and still getting stuck at the same spot when trying to create an account. If they can get the app to actually work I’d be willing to give it another try though.

They now make you pay for things you previously didn’t have to.. I’ve been using this app for two years and loved it. It gave you hunting predictions based on what time of day, weather, temperature etc. but I opened it to add some more of my hunting spots to find you now have to pay for it. It’s really frustrating because you didn’t have to but now you do. And their prediction was always super accurate and very useful. It’s the one reason I used this app, probably going to delete now.

Out of date maps. I liked using the app even though the my location would be a little off from time to time. I even subscribed for the yearly fee but my biggest problem was the maps are more than 5 years old!!! I turned in tickets and all trying to get these updated and waited a month to no prevail. So I canceled my subscription and am going to try another app that’s more up to date.

Rick’s review. I’ve been using the HuntWise app for for deer and turkey hunting for several years. I’m not as pleased with the new Elite as I was the free app, I use prior. On the 80% to 100% the app says go hunt even when the wind is in the totally opposite and in the wrong direction! Wind direction is vital to a bow hunter. The free app took this into consideration. When the wind direction is blowing down the nostrils of a deer, regardless of the rut, just hunt from a different stand or stay home! HuntWise please work on this. Thank you for your time.

Interface is ok based on limited use. Tried the 7 day trial. Billed on day 1 thanks to apple. Base Map layers are old maps for my area just like onX. Interface seemed intuitive in the 2 minutes I used it, because I saw satellite data old coupled with fact apple didn’t want to honor the 7 day trial. Will just stick with my other mapping software, but miss out on the rut cast.

Good but needs more. Two things I think could make this the best possible app. 1. Google Earth integration. You can’t beat the 3D angles Earth can provide. I know Huntstand has this layer option , would be great to have it here. 2. Apple Watch integration. When scouting and tracking my walks, I’d like the ability to make marks quickly with the Apple Watch. Just tap, scroll for the marker, set it, and keep going.

Must Have Hunting Tool. This is such a vital tool to help my hunting season. Such an easy and accessible app. I highly recommend giving this one a try! Especially if you’re new to hunting! So many tips in the app. One of my favorite things is all of the discount codes for hunting gear that are in the gear section.

Useful app. I really enjoy using this app for mapping and hunt predictions and just overall checking conditions of my spots. I’m only using the free version so maybe this is a feature you get with a higher subscription level but I’d love to see the next days predicted conditions instead of it being just todays.

The perfect hunting partner. I’ve really enjoyed using HuntWise over the past few years, having the ability to see the weather, wind, maps, property owners, and everything all in one spot is convenient and has really helped with my planning and scouting.

Excellent App. I just purchased this app on the evening of Tuesday October 26. I am still learning how to use it however just going by the peak activity predicted I went hunting on Wednesday October 27 evening against my better judgment. A north eastern front had just come through Tuesday with a lot of rain an Wednesday was very windy. I usually wouldn’t hunt in so much wind but the hunt wise app said this would be the best day and evening was the predicted best time so I went to a stand where the wind was favorable and killed a beautiful mature 12 point buck with a drop tine. One of my biggest bucks yet. Not to mention I saw three other bucks that evening. Thanks HuntWise Mike G Bowhunter

More money sir. This is my third season using this app. It use to be very helpful with wind and temps and other features. But now every time I log on to check something. It has either gone away or now it’s in a different “elite” package which cost more. I was a loyal fan of the app. But with every update, and addition I lose something that now requires to spend more money. So this will likely be my last year with this app.

Review. I “LOVE” it for my use. I have a cabin in remote access only in Alaska and it has helped me mark trails, friends cabins, and other uses. I’ve told several people about it and have had them sign up I just find it very useful and easy to use Thanks again for developing such a program

Tough a Trevor. Hunt wise is great service.I am extremely happy with this app. I have looked up and down for an app that will give me the lay of the land because I do not know how to read a topo map this app breaks it down and spend it around so that I can see the ups and the downs so that I can locate the travel Corredor’s ! I love it and a shout out to Whs! I love every video you produce as well.

Just so so... The predictions work about half the time and when the predictions finally populate, it’s still a crap shoot if the prediction is accurate. I’ve seen movement when productions said the odds where poor. Then I’ve seen zero movement when the predictions where High. I do like how it show the wind direction. That’s about it

My maps changed to earlier maps for some reason. Earlier this year if I was scrolled out it showed a 3 year old map but as you zoomed in it would change to a recent map which was awesome . Now it just stays on the old map🤷‍♂️Did I miss something ?How do I get my updated maps back?

Hunt cast review. This app is a virtual asset to hunting public grounds! Knowing your location and staying within legal boundaries at all times makes hunting public much more comfortable! Highly recommend this app! From planning strategies different tactics and entrance and exit routs it have everything to offer i believe it will excel in the hunting industry!

So much promise. This app does many things very well: map images, 3d (Where available), topi maps, location tags, all that stuff works great. However, the app doesn’t support rotation on iPad (Greatly reduces usability on that platform) and when I recently tried to update boundary lines on a property that I have previously mapped, I could not modify the lines I had previously put in. I ended up deleting the instance and starting from scratch.

Would be 5 stars. I used this app for past few years and absolutely loved it. It would 100% be 5 stars. Due to some family issues, haven’t been on it for a little bit. I’m preparing to go hunting this week and went to check the rutcast and see some property lines and they were locked. Trying to make someone pay $60 for this app is just ridiculous and makes me sad that they would do this to the hunting community. For $60 you better send a guide out and help me pack my animal. 1 star

All the info you need. This is a very good app, it covers a lot of ground for a variety of species. You can customize it for multiple hunting locations in different state, if you hunt out of State like I have. Definitely worth trying it out. Like any app, if you want the better features you are going to have to pay for them.

Excited. I’ve watched Jeff for a while on you tube and followed his advice religiously, just downloaded the app and I am starting to understand what I’ve heard him talk about so many times…I guess I’ll see what happens in the next few weeks with the tools provided by him and everyone else involved with the management of HuntWise!

Extra. I don’t have a single complaint but i have a request, dark mode? This may not seem necessary but when you check the app in the morning and the screen blinds you, i think it should have dark mode. like i said, no complaints at all as it is a really good app

Bad experience. I signed up for the elite package downloaded the app service does not show boundary lines landowner information whether nothing have sent email after email to hunt Wise help plant trying to cancel service prior to the pre-trialExpiring did not get response from the health link the day of the free trial expired they took payment from my account I sent numerous emails after payment was taken out explaining that I wanted to cancel prior to it expiring with no response back from sport tracker don’t feel it’s a very good site or service

Field Test. I tried the free version during Archery and Rifle for Deer and found the Major & Minor peak times to be pretty close. There are other features in Pro I could probably use but it’s hard to justify for 2 months of use... maybe a 6 month membership would be better.. losing shared information during upgrades is tedious to say the least...

Charges non stop. This app is just trying to make money off of you no matter what, I clicked the basic one and it still MADE me sign up for hunter wise pro free trail which has now chargered me $59 for the subscription and to cancel the subscription you have to download the app that takes 20 minutes to download because of the amount of gb it takes. Besides that you have to pay $8 for the app to be able to log in and cancel your subscription. Unbelievable.

Excellent tool A+++++. Excellent tool with up to date information. I’ve checked property lines and owners against state tax maps and huntwise was spot on. Even more impressive is they had a more up to date database on land ownership. All the bells and whistles for stand location wind direction hunt logs measuring tools the list goes on. I’ve acquired 3 new properties plus tons of unknown huntable state property because of this app.

Great app for whitetail hunting. Since I’ve started using this app, trying to predict movement has been easier. Being able to see the wind direction layered over the spot is nice. Having landowners names is a huge plus of recovery needs to happen. Great all the way around, and very versatile. Will bto trying to use this for dogs on hogs after deer season is over.

Useless out in the boonies. Useless without cell service. We have 240 acres that is basically off the grid with zero cell service. I created the hunt location and downloaded the map for offline use while at home on wifi. Get to the property and all I get is “connection issue”. Total waste of $50.

Great all around app!. I don’t do Facebook because this app has all the things in it that I really care about! I’d rather see posts made by hunters and people who just enjoy the out doors any day. Love the way you can compare wind direction for stands. It’s a must have, and I use it almost daily. The only ding is the monthly cost, but all around just fun and worth it!

Everything!. I was at a seminar this weekend and a rep from the company came out to tell us about the app. It has weather patterns, prey movement calculations, and even a social feed for hunters. The rep talked about how the creator wanted an app that can help new hunters be more successful, and lifelong hunters explore new avenues. Amazing customer support. They also love hearing feedback and ideas to make the app better.

PLEASE GIVE US MORE OPTIONS!. Guys you definitely do some things well. I’ve used this app for a fairly large hunting property for over a year and you are missing some simple options. Why can’t I choose a different color for anything!!!!? Why… seriously…?! The border is orange. My trails are orange… some of my markers are orange. Is it that hard to give color options!? I have trails that hug my border and I don’t know which is which. Kind of ridiculous honestly. That’s just the tip of the iceberg but let’s start with something simple.

Keep taking away more and more functionality. I’ve used the free version of this for the last few years and have watched more and more functionality go away. Most recently they removed the ability to see hunting projections on weekends. You use to be able to see for a few day just now further out than that but on Friday you could look at Friday Saturday and Sunday to see hunting predictions. I don’t know why I care about this as much because I have had some terrible days in the stand when they said it was to be great. I guess it’s the principle.

Click bait at its finest. Seems like it would be a decent app if you bought it, however, you cannot test it without giving your credit card info. Wouldn’t have even reviewed it had they not wasted 10 minutes of my life. Now I’m bitter. Sign up, give phone number, wait for text, add number, only to not be able to see what it is I’m getting without committing. OnX at least gives you time to make a choice. Change your paywall, I’m sure the app is great, but I don’t write down payments to test drive ✌️

Right tool for the job. I can’t compare it to other hunting apps since I haven’t haven’t tried other apps but that’s because I don’t need to. This one just works! When it says the deer are going to be moving, they always are. Nice feature-rich maps help with scouting and planning for ideal sits.

Pretty Good App. Overall pretty good had the land I hunt set up in 5 minutes love the stand comparison feature like the land sale feature though I dont like how there is not a property boarder outline but that may be behind the subscription overall good app sadly had several instances in which the app lagged out and I had to restart but it loads up fast so thats good

Right on. This app is so accurate it’s insane. This has changed my game since I got it. The timing for the peak movement for whitetail is 90 percent on. I highly recommend this app if you want to be more successful and don’t want to waste time. If the hunting is slow it’s better to spend time with your family and this app will tell you what you need to now.

HuntWise it doesn’t get any better than this!. If you want to spend Quality time hunting and less time wasting time, get HuntWise! Jeff Sturgis is the Man! Trust me when I say, Listen and learn. Strategic planning for your hunt! Weather , Wind, inside Corners, Funnels , Land management, Deer management, Food plot management! you name it, He covers it! Get Elite status you will not be disappointed! Trust me! Frank Biondo NY

Love the features but..... The features and ease of use are amazing. However, property owners and google images are not updated in certain areas. I feel like being charged monthly isn’t very fair considering OnX Hunt is the same way and only charges one fee. (And with them you can just log out and sign up again with a new email for unlimited trials to keep it free). Why are we paying for outdated information?

Worth every cent spent.. I love this app, I’ve used both Huntwise and OnX and the usability of this is so much better. The Huntcast feature is a great way to help plan your hunting up to a week in the future and is generally accurate. One feature that has gone away that I wish would come back is the property finder feature, but the rest of the app is awesome!

One week free trial. Gives you one week free trial. But charges you $50 after a week. I downloaded this app and ON THE X to try them both out. I liked the other better. I think ON THE X is better for waterfowl hunting. I got a notification through my bank that $50 had been charged. I contacted HuntWise. They were not helpful and told me it was apple that I had to contact for a refund. I was unable to get a refund from apple. HuntWise was unwillingly to make it right even though I caught the problem right away. It’s more expensive then other apps and less user friendly.

Very nice, poor map. I really enjoy being able to see a pretty accurate estimation of weather, wind, and barometric pressure for the day and its effective on various types of wildlife. On the other hand; the map is so small that I always have to open another app to get a decent view of the land. If I were able to move around the map and zoom out and had a 3D option, this would be a five star review

Love it. Have had Huntwise and onX both for a couple seasons. Had to cut one out to help the budget. Went with Huntwise over onX. I like that I can get the phone numbers. The satellite image is more clear. I think I like the offline map from onX better but maybe I’m using it wrong. Love the wind predictions. Use that so much to decide where to hunt certain days. Thanks Huntwise! Awesome app. Recommend for sure

Love It but now I can’t use it!!!!. Love the app and use it a lot during hunting season. I’m sad now tho because since I did the latest update on my iPhone ISO13 the app will not work. It comes on shows the HuntWise deer and then says loading then automatically cuts off and goes out of app. Sure wish I could use again :(

Awesome app. Have been using this app for a couple years now and works great!! After some complications with my login and not being able to access my pro subscription I emailed customer support and they were able to help me sort it out with in a day!! After the great customer support I will continue to use the app for sure!!

Great app. I have used this app for years for ducks and deer. Has always been very accurate. I don’t understand why Al of the sudden I have to pay for Friday -Sunday . I would understand on new users . But don’t feel any loyalty to us long time users. Still a great app but not happy about the charges. Ps I haven’t paid for it and probably won’t!

Great hunting app, but.... Every time you open the app, it kills any audio you’re playing. Music, audible, Podcast etc. This only started with recent update. Small problem but I find it extremely annoying when planning a hunt. The guy from Whitetail Habitat Solutions is great. Like the mapping better than OnX. Once they fix the audio issue I’ll change to five stars.

Not enough to be a good app.. This app has the potential to be awesome, but the settings do not work when you want to adjust them. It does not show Game units. It only shows property when you zoom in very close. Public land and private land show as the same color (As in white lines and that's it). Makes for a very confusing and timely process to plan a hunt. Otherwise, it has a solid platform to become a good app.

Need more Location marks. I really do like this app so far, one of the better put together map interface, the only thing I see that this app really really really lacks compared to similar apps is the variety of types of points/mark you can put down, I use a different app for marking locations of sightings whether it be rubs or deer and Turkey sightings or whatever, if they can upgrade that this app is definitely worth it otherwise it’s kind of pointless.
