💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Great game great premise but…. Money grabbing. Honestly after dropping around $30 the first week in game I think I am no longer going to be playing. Every event is just a new purchase. The amount of money that goes into this is just not worth the limited game play. After your dots are adults they just gain growth but for zero point. There is no reason to even care for them after other then to fill daily quests. After, you dont even need to take care of the rest. Honestly I expected more out of this game. Its just a greedy money grab. Dont waste your money and time. Its not worth it. The graphics are ok, but its the same animations over again. You get nothing but growth for completing training. There really is zero reason to 100% their tricks esp after they are grown. I got excited in the first couple weeks. Im just done with the game. Just go back to pokemon. At least you can probably catch some free pets. The ar use is practically the same, and you dont have to throw money at it constantly if you dont want too. The balance between price of items and game play is way off. Its not worth it. Dont waste your time and money. Overpriced and it literally requires you to pay for every dot past the first 2. Maybe if things balance out i may come back. But as it stands, its just not worth it.

Wish Main Feature Wasn’t Behind a Paywall. I love this game. Choosing my first Dot and raising them has been a lot of fun. I like checking in on them throughout the day and seeing how they evolved from baby to adult. It’s super cute! My main issue, and one that seems to be shared by others, is that a big part of the game is to breed your Dot with others and create new combinations and diversify the gene pool. It’s a cool idea and I was excited to have lots of baby Dots! However, beyond your first free nest (a necessity to hatch a new baby) the rest need to be purchased. Right now a single nest is $4.99. This seems ridiculous for a huge component of the game play to be locked behind a paywall. Really hope Niantic reconsiders how they handle nests. I would love to see them be a craft-able item, or if you don’t want to spend time searching for materials you can purchase a pre-made one. Additionally, I would spend $5 on a nest that I could use multiple times, but $5 to hatch one Dot (which can be accomplished in a few days) seems unreasonable.

Adorable, great potential, expensive. Peridot is still new, I get that. I expect new features will continue to come out and flesh out something that feels really special. I love my Dots and the animations and interactions you have with them are sweet and endearing. Here’s my biggest problem: cost. It costs 5 dollars to hatch a new Dot (after your first two). When the whole game is centered around raising and hatching to find new traits, this becomes an issue. How much money would a dedicated player need to pay a month? 30 at the lowest. That’s six Dots. Once you’ve raised a Dot, the incentive to keep coming back gets halted. I have no problem paying for a good game. I have no problem paying a subscription, even, for a good game I know I will enjoy. But this current monetization model will drive everyone away. I would pay probably 3-4 dollars a month flat in a subscription model. To ask your players to pay 5 every four days for continued progress and use is ridiculous. Please change the way that Nests are able to be obtained in some form or fashion. I know developers need income, I want to give them that. But you have to understand that the average person will stop playing as soon as they realize they have a 5 dollar block.

Typical Niantic, too $$$. You will need a decent phone camera to play this as AR is required. Same with location. The peridots are cute but the gameplay is repetitive. The gameplay with a single peridot lasts about 3 days, from baby to adult, and then you’ll need to breed to restart the, very repetitive, game cycle. This is $5 each time. So around $50 a month if your consistently hatching dots. Community day is $15. You HAVE to use campfire, Niantic’s still non-functional discord-copy social server. No easy way to see if someone wants to breed with you. Yes, you have to send a breed request. And accept requests of your own. The cough up the $5 and hope you get the traits you want. Oh and because campfire is required, if you’re under 18 you can’t breed. Nice for a game targeted towards families. Can’t breed? No new dots. No new gameplay. No new archetypes to collect (the main point of the game). I quickly quit and do not recommend Niantic is WELL known to not listen to community suggestions so I don’t expect improvements. Sooooooooooooo many better options out there. Even for money-hungry mobile games. Save yourself a ton of money and buy a real game with hours of new content for a single fee.

Very cute, could make some improvements. Update: Now that keepers can earn nests in game I have increased my rating to 4 stars. There are still issues with bugs and you can’t do a whole lot of breeding without buying nests (price is still too high and real money only) but the game is now very playable for the casual player not looking to drop much, if any, cash on the game. This game is cute. Real cute. The AR is fantastic. Unfortunately Niantic chose to put a core mechanic behind a paywall. $5 for single use nests required to breed. There is very little to do with an adult dot so to call this a free game is a huge stretch. At time of writing this the highlighted positive review hopes “angry pogo players” don’t ruin this with their greed but Niantic is the greedy one here. There isn’t even an option to buy with in game currency. They could easily monetize the game with the premium options like the Eggs Ray, extra nests, and the trait unlock option. $5 a pop to breed is absurd.

Has potential but the paywall.... The fact you HAVe to pay 5$ for each time you breed a dot is insane. When the dots themselves and discovering them is the main game loop, this game quickly becomes crazy expensive. And the supporting features like feeding and petting your pet do not justify this insane cost. It would be much better if the nests could be obtainable without paying, and instead monetization is locked behind seeing into the eggs, cosmetics, or even certain dot traits (which btw all of these also cost real money...but at least you get a few free for playing.) if they change the game to give more ability for the users to actually play the game and the monetization to be supporting the player then this game would be 5 stars for me. I'm disappointed that a game like this theoretically will cost more for me to play than other games like genshin impact... the blatant greed makes me less likely to support. The idea is so cool but the game just doesn't deliver because of this nest paywall. Atm it just doesn't justify the spend. But if this changes I'll 100% change this review to a higher star rating. Best of luck to the team of Peridot.

A Truthful Review. Pros: Game is highly addictive Good for those that enjoyed Pokémon go Cute unique art style A larger amount of diversity for the creatures Task/Challenges are easy Promotes exploring your environment Promotes interacting with your environment Kid/family friendly and fun A friendly and helpful community Constructive criticism: Nests (what is used to hatch dots) should be able to be earned to keep a continuous fan base; ideas (1 for completing weekly challenges) and (1 every week through the daily logins). That’s 2 free a week, and keeps players wanting to grind and put in more time. In addition the price for nest are 5$ and are a bit costly for the average user for a one time consumable, something like 3 for 5$ or 8 for 12$ would make me the consumer feel as the price is right and would want to invest more into the game. Gem pricing for traits can be costly, and should be reduced a little as well. Summary: A fun and exciting experience that will leave your whole family engulfed in interesting cute creatures that will make you smile! Leveling up is easy and fast, and you’ll find love in viewing other people’s dots as well. The game has just been released, changes and updates will soon come and issues regarding the heavy pressure the game pushes on you to pay money in order to get more dots is a where gameplay falls short and will take you out from the experience but I think it will be resolved soon. Due to the community’s fustrations.

Pretty Cool with an Absurd Paywall. I don’t know if it deserves 3 stars, but there is one main issue in my opinion that basically needs fixed which is the way you have to play to progress through the game. Imagine owning a little unique digital pet that you can mix with others pets to create a very wide range of babies. Very cool until after the the first baby, it takes 5 bucks a pop for a new one. Oh, and by the way, the traits are randomly generated from the parents, and you’ll be locked out of several of them until you reach a higher level. I tried to play and level up, but now I’m to a point of realizing I’m making a big commitment that I’ll need to invest a lot of money in to have fun with. If you got like 20 eggs for 5 bucks instead of 1, I’d probably come back and play. The paywall between me and getting cool peridots is just too steep unfortunately. At the end of all that, definitely worth checking out for a couple days. It’s cute, fun use of AR, and a neat idea for a game.

It’s fun but…. While it’s fun to make the dots and get the archetypes the process can get expensive with the nest issues. I get it they have to make money to keep employees paid and servers running but it’s a little steep. With that said I did pay every once in a while as I’ll pay for games that bring me enjoyment. The reason why I deleted my account though was the constant use of AR. It’s a phone killer in short. The things that it does to your battery and electronics in your phone is not good. I’m not going to continue to play a game that will over heat my phone and shorten my phones life span. Heat is one of the factors that kills your batteries capacity to hold a charge. Even if your phone says its charged to 100% your battery may only be holding a 90% charge as an example. That a reason why phones have trouble making it through the day as they age under the same amount of usage. I get the AR aspect of this game but maybe make the game play out like your other games in their own digital worlds. Pokemon Go would be an example. Most people just use AR in that game to snap a quick pic and then back to the Pokemon digital world to continue playing. Anyway I’d come back if the game went in this direction as it is fun.

Cute & Casual. I’m very excited and enjoying the game. What I love about it the most is that it isn’t necessarily a demanding title at all. For someone in their 30’s who has a busy life, this is my perfect companion. On the walk & subway ride to work, I can let my dot free to roam the city. The AR could use some work when it comes to recognizing walls or doors, etc. But, seeing your dot walk in front of you on the sidewalk is just a cool experience. I will say the game being new is finding its ground on what can be added into it for entertainment. I do believe there is still some work cut out to do when it comes to that aspect. But then again, this isn’t Pokémon GO and that’s a reason I actually enjoy it. I’m not required to be in this app all of the time looking for certain ones. I can just hop in casually when I’d like and take care of my cute lil “Floura” before heading into work or going to sleep. I see so much potential with this & truly hope the upset PoGO players don’t ruin a good thing out of selfishness & greed. Peridot is cute, has its purpose, and deserves to stick around. This is the new Tamagotchi/Gigapet 2.0 :)

LOVE THIS GAME…BUT. I love this game! I’m so sick of PokémonGO & I loved Wizards Unite⚡️9¾ ⚯͛ △⃒⃘ but they shut that down. Ingress is a nightmare & I have ZERO interest in the flower game—so this is it! I love hatching Dots & taking care of them. All the other players I’ve dealt with online have been very nice & helpful. HOWEVER, this game is ridiculously expensive. And the software is so buggy, constantly crashing, overheating the phone & killing the battery. It’s hard to recommend it to anyone. That being said, the Niantic team working on this game seems to give all the feedback serious consideration. They are constantly trying to fix the buggy software & crashing problems. They have taken player complaints about the cost seriously, & have responded with changes to the game in a timely manner. They have tried to fairly compensate early players with free nests that newer players receive as part of leveling up. In spite of all the problems, I really do like playing this game. The graphics are exceptional! I wish there was more info on how to play from Niantic, rather than trying to find YouTubers or other gamers to get directions. I really miss Wizards Unite⚡️9¾ ⚯͛ △⃒⃘🦉 & I’m just really sick of PokémonGO, so this has been a nice change. I love all my Dots, & can’t wait for new features that players have asked for & given feedback about.

Definitely a Niantic game!!!. Very buggy and quirky but cute. The characters are fairly well designed and each seems to be unique. However it was clearly released several months to early before any real testing was done. The screen frequently starts glitching requiring the game to be restarted. The friends part has a list that can’t be sorted and most often but not always when you send a gift it takes you back to the beginning of the list instead of where you were. Clicking to recover a gift takes you out of the friends area all together despite the game being built around needing to receive gifts from lots of friends to be able to hatch more critters. The tasks are fairly simple but annoying having to go to various types of biomes to collect the foods. Fortunately if you don’t have the right biome nearby you can use a photo. Also the equivalent of pokestops only show other people you can friend rather than actually giving you any incentives. Overall it’s ok but definitely not great and not finished. Definitely what you would expect from Niantic.

The game was cute and fun until…. If you enjoy breeding and caring for cute pets, this game was pretty decent. In the original release, Niantic being Niantic attempted to paywall every hatch, but quickly learned that wouldn’t work. Once they started allowing some free nests (a fair amount even, in my opinion), the game actually became quite pleasant, and it was a fun way to get the kids out to see different parts of our town (go for the on-screen habitat, stay to experience the off-screen point of interest). I was even ok with buying a few supplemental nests to support the game and give the kids some extra hatching fun. That all changed, dramatically and quickly, with this last update. A game that was happily swaddled in cuteness and fun changed to dark and creepy with the addition of feral dots and blight, complete with ominous music. At the same time, the desires of each Dot pet was removed, effectively taking away the most fun part of caring for each one. My daughter went from absolutely loving the game, to being completely creeped out and hating it. While we probably could have just shifted her focus for a bit if it was a temporary Halloween event, instead it sadly is a permanent change. The previous version of the game will be missed, and we will not be playing this depressing version. Hopefully Niantic will quickly realize how much they’ve alienated family players by this change of tone.

Great game!. I love this game! The community is really nice and supportive and it’s easy for me to share my artwork and get feedback on my work in campfire chat! The dots are super cute and have a ton of personality! A few things I’m not a huge fan of though would be nests, it’s hard to get nests because you have to buy them with real money unless you get them as a reward for leveling up or some kind of event reward. Also some of the interactions, you can have your dot interact with technology and various other things. I like that it encourages you to go outside but all of the technology interactions are negative like “too many screens these days” or “would rather go outside” when your literally playing on a screen 😒. All in all, I think the game is pretty good even though it’s a bit harder for freebies like me to get certain things it’s still a fun game that I definitely would recommend!

Even without breeding I still enjoy the simulation aspects. I’m an 80s kid and as I entered middle school Tamagotchi back in the 90s was all the rage. I miss the Tamagotchi Connect app. There is a new Tamagotchi coming soon but until that happens Peridot is the next best thing. Plus it promotes healthy active lifestyles and as a gamer that’s something I struggle a lot with. So anything that makes walking or exercising fun is good! I am sad that they removed foraging for nests and agree nest prices are too high. I enjoy the AR aspects watching my Peridot interact with my real pets and friends and family and explore my world. Oh and I love how they all look completely one of a kind! That’s the best part and still even without breeding your one Peridot is still one of a kind! And that’s awesome. I love how they purr when you pet them and feeding them and dressing them up and teaching them tricks. I will keep playing until the end, but without breeding and losing players by the thousands each day, that end is very near. For that reason I won’t spend real life money on the game cuz it’s going to die soon sadly.

Fun but .... I was having such a fun time playing the game, the concept is really cool and I love the design of everything. But to have an essential part of the game be one use and then $5 per after is just too much. Even in pokémon go, the incubators - which aren't an essential function - you have one that as infinite uses with ability to purchase more if you so choose. Obviously the functions aren't the same as you can't reasonably hatch multiple Peridots at the same time, but maybe instead of giving out so many free gems - push those to be bought instead of an nests, as they have real benefit if collected. As a player, i'm much more likely to spend money on the game when an Item or currency can produce something rare, special, etc. Even a nest with abilities to produce higher chances for rare combinations or abilities would be a better alternative to just having to buy a basic necessity of the game. Anyways I still enjoy the game but definitely hinders my ability to continue playing if I have to spend $5 each time to do the entire point of the game.

My Thoughts. I absolutely love this game! It’s cute and easy to play. There are some things that I feel could use work but they are mostly due to personal preference. I like how the hatch-a-dot system works and you get to pick from three eggs instead of only getting one offspring. I don’t really mind the AR features but I personally think it would be better as an option instead of all the time. I say this because my dot often has trouble measuring distance and gets stuck in the floor a lot. If the player could turn the AR on or off I feel it would be more appealing. Maybe a room for your peridot would be a cute idea. Be able to buy or earn furnishings for them to have for comfort or interact with. This was just the thought that had been nagging at me the most since I started playing. I know that making, adding or changing things to a game can be quite the project so I’m only saying this as a suggestion. Overall I find it to be a fun game to play and can see myself keeping it well into the future.

3/5!. I really enjoy the concept! We don’t have enough interesting genetic games, and adding the multiplayer aspect is so exciting! You can go-hatch with someone passing by and you never know what you’re going to get! But, you can only really explore the main aspect of the game, the entire selling point, if you pay. That’s really upsetting to me, as it seems like a lot of love went into it. But it comes off as a cash grab. I think a great feature would to be to add some way for free to play players to get some nests. Sure you can make it tougher, but at least make it possible. This game is only so fun without that, and I think people would be more interested in paying for items and nests if it didn’t seem so greedy. I know I would. The ar is also a little goofy, but that doesn’t really bother me. A few quality of play changes could be made, but really just add a way for free to play players to get more nests. Be it a daily spin, quests, whatever. So much potential to be a huge success! Make it more accessible!

Want to love it…. Pros: The dots are cute, and it’s cute to see them react to being fed, pet or played with. It’s neat to forage for food and toys for them basically anywhere. Cons: like many other reviews mention, it’s expensive and frustrating that a major part of the game - hatching new dots - is only possible by paying for new nests. If you could craft nests or use in game currency to buy them as well, that would go a long way to improving the game and letting players progress by hatching new dots. My phone also gets super hot after about five minutes of game play, which means extensive battery drain, too. If I play for about 10 minutes, my phone will go from about 80% charged to low battery. I don’t see how I’m ever supposed to explore with my dots in the real world by going on walks which is a frequent dot desire to earn points to help them grow if my phone is both overheating and battery is drained to the point where I can only play for longer than 5 minutes by having my phone charging while I play. The game will also get laggy when switching between my dots, too.

Nests Monetization Will Stunt this Game. I get needing to monetize this game, I do. But only allowing more nests from micro transactions when the breeding is a major draw of the game makes this just a step to the left of being like an NFT scam; the genuine gameplay and enjoyable pets go a long way to lessening that impact but most players won’t end up paying for more than one more nest if that. I’ve seen multiple reviews echoing the fact that we’d be fine to buy nests with premium currency that’s fairly difficult to earn, making it a pay-to-skip rather than pay-to-play. I think that’s something that would be a great remedy to this problem, while still incentivizing dedicated players to buy nests to skip the wait of saving up your scraps of premium currency. All in all I’m enjoying my time and will probably play until my current dots bore me. Don’t see myself paying $5 for each new dot though, when that earns me a lot more in most other apps

Was absolutely fantastic… for the first two days. I just started playing this with friends a couple days ago. We have been having an absolute blast walking around with our Dots, collecting food and treats and watching our little guys grow. Today, my Dot finally reached adulthood after much grinding and I was so excited to get my next one. I used my only nest and got a new baby through breeding… but then it occurred to me that I would need a nest every time I wanted to add a new Dot to the family. It seems the only way to get more nests at the moment is to purchase them with actual money, which I cannot afford to do. It’s unfortunate that I won’t be able to participate in what is one of the major functions of this game and will not be able to collect archetypes or raise anymore dots. I give it about a week before I lose interest given there’s only so much you can do with your Dots before they’ve done everything. I wish we had a daily or weekly nest so we could keep collecting dots like the trailer showed.

Cute but not F2P. This game is right up my alley! Breeding cute pets called Dots to see what you can unlock, walking with them and more! I love how they interact with you and how you can help them grow. Here’s the issue though. You get a free nest (one item needed to breed) at first, but after that you need to pay $5.00 to get another. Yes, $5 per nest. You cannot get nests for free which makes the game boring and.. well honestly disappointing as you can’t do anything else after. There’s also the issue with it making your phone extremely hot. I have to keep my quality low which only helps a little, as it still gets very hot when I’m playing. I have an iPhone 13 max pro or whatever so it’s not the oldest phone. I’ve heard people with the newest version of whatever phone they have still overheating.. but I can’t confirm that. You also need sun drops to breed which you can get 400 a day from friends- currently unlimited- but there’s an issue where the screen blacks or whites out if you try to scroll down, making it impossible to get to the rest of your friends. It’s a shame really because this game has so much potential. But Niantic making this game’s main mechanic locked behind a paywall is pretty disappointing to say the least. Maybe they’ll change it; hopefully when the hype is still fresh.

Fix nests, and I’ll play this 24/7. If you’re wondering if you should download this: The answer is yes. You will undoubtedly get bored once you hit the pay wall a few days in, but those few days will be AWESOME. For this to be a long term game for me, though, the nest issue needs to be fixed. I understand nests can’t be an infinite resource, and that there has to be some kind of barrier to players hatching constant dots. But it’s absolutely wild to expect the average player to pay $5 EVERY time they want to hatch a new dot. I could understand nests being available for gems—something that’s purchasable through a micro transaction, but also able to gain in small amounts by playing regularly. Or even if we were given a free nest as a daily check in reward, say once a month or so, and then additional nests had to be purchased with real money. But when you advertise hatching new dots and breeding unique traits as a CORE MECHANIC of this game, this kind of paywall is just ridiculous. The average player isn’t going to spend up to $30 a month on nests so they can hatch a new dot every time their baby dot grows up. I could see myself spending real money on this game, playing it every day, etc. But in order for me to do that, ya gotta throw me a bone. Give me a free nest every once in a while, so I get used to hatching new dots and excited enough about the process to spend cash on it. Right now, I just don’t care.

It’s good but the money and notifications are…. So when I got peridot I was surprised to find that it’ll notify you anytime so I turn it on and the next thing you know it’s notifying me like at 1:00 AM and then 2:04 AM I know I can turn it off but they should try and fix it to where it only notifies people when they turn on their phones. Next, is the problem everyone is ranting about and now I am, the cost for nests and the kits. It’s way out of control how we have to pay 5$ for a something on your phone or tablet. I believe it should be the game gems to buy a kit or the nests. I wanna hatch another peridot for free or at least nests can be earned in the daily rewards instead of people spending 5$ on something virtual and it being so cheap it’s not even worth a penny. But other than that, I haven’t experienced any other problem. I hope that all the problems that people are getting pretty much mad about will be settled and solved. Thanks so much for reading my review!

Campfire. So I have been playing this for about a week and it’s actually pretty good and I like it but the only problem for me so far is when I click the bag thing and I try to press “chat on campfire” it shows the loading screen for about 2 seconds and then it says “campfire failed to open at this time. Please try again later!”. I don’t know if this is an internet or wifi thing but I have tried clicking on it at my home where I had full wifi and 4 bars. So maybe it’s a glitch? When I look at the visitor dots thing and I click on one of the dots and press the “message __________” for the hatch-a-dot request it says it successfully sent it but then it says the same thing as it did earlier where it says it failed to open. But other than that I think it a very fun game! I have done the sigh in thing to see if that would help it but it didn’t. Thank you!

Great Concept. It’s super fun and cute and I love the visuals. However, even for a powerful newer phone it’s so immersive that it’s often very laggy and unforgiving on battery life and makes interacting with animals and flowers tasks very difficult. This game shows no mercy with the AR requirement and it’s sometimes really tiring on the eyes and the forced AR means a lot of my friends can’t even play it because their phones can’t handle constant AR usage so I miss out on a chance to enjoy the game with people locally. The Hatch a Dot system is annoying because most people show up in habitats nearby but no longer play the game and won’t get the request (probably sick of the constant AR or paywalls too) so the chance of actually breeding another Dot is minimal most of the time. Kinda kills the concept for me, I came into this hoping to create unique creatures and play with my friends who can’t even play the game. Pretty bummed. Really hope it gets better in the future like PokeGo did.

Charming little pet sim with some shortcomings. It’s a cute experience that gives me something to twiddle with every so often during the day. The dots are more engaging something like a tamagotchi as they interact with the environment and can even recognize things such as pets and flowers! My two biggest complaints come down to the UI and the hatch a dot system. The interface is really clunky with things buried in menus inside of menus. I feel like every time I was looking for something I had to open up every option every time to find what I was looking for. Information is also very vague in general on how things work, making it even more confusing to find what I’m looking for. The thing that really bugs me is how to get new dots. The only way to hatch new dots it to connect with another player, have enough sun drops, and have a nest. When picking a partner some of the traits are locked and your new dot cannot inherit them until you’re a certain level. At time of writing I’m level 9, and I feel like nothing is unlocked. My first time hatching was almost an exact copy of my original dot! I definitely wouldn’t mind as much if the nests weren’t locked behind a $5 paywall. I’m not above spending money here and there on app games but that’s a lot to shell out every couple days to play half of the game. Overall it’s a silly little time waster but my gripes might outweigh the fun. Plenty of potential if the devs don’t get too greedy like some of their other games.

Cute, Attractive, and Developers Listen. I love this game! The peridots are super cute and the animations are beautiful. There was an unfortunate paywall before, but the developers listened to the reviews and changed it so there were ways to get things for free. It is always so exciting to raise new peridots! As the game develops and grows, I have a suggestion that could make this game even better: I think it would be nice if you could hire another player or a computer to take care of your peridot for you if you are going to be traveling or can’t take care of your peridot for a while for a price. That way, you wouldn’t have to worry about you and your peridot losing bond while you’re busy or away. Please consider this suggestion! Overall, peridot is one of the best games I’ve had. It’s cute, attractive, and in general a wonderful game. I can’t wait to see peridot change and grow in the future.

Core Mechanic of the game stuck behind paywall.. Peridough should be way more accessible. I can dig up Sundrops and constantly farm Blightbux, so Peridough needs to be easier to get too. Also, at least every other day (if not every single day) there should be a Nest available for Blightbux or Peridough. If you can’t do that then bring back crafting Nests, I should at the very least be able to craft 2 Nests a day or every other day. Honestly who in this economy is able to pay $5 for a Nest every. Single. Time. It’s just not feasible and people should be able to just enjoy something without it hurting their pockets. You can keep the bundles and stuff. I’m sure people who can afford it buy it, which is definitely giving y’all enough money to keep the game running. I wouldn’t have an issue at all with the in-app purchases if the dev team of this game wasn’t basically making them mandatory. This game is pay to play, not pay to win. It’s entirely backwards; what app has ever done anything like that?? None because it makes no sense and doesn’t work. The whole point of the game is to breed for better traits and eventually get archetypes so why would you take away a CORE MECHANIC of the game?? It makes zero sense. Also, how much you spend breeding with rescued/feral and friend’s dots needs to be less random. It’s definitely randomized, otherwise I wouldn’t already have the archetype I do. You should spend less or more depending on how many traits from that dot are still locked for you.

4 1/2 stars on average? Are we playing the same game?. Launch day revealed every feature of the game: create a dot, dig up items, hatch a dot. Guess what? You may have 1 (one) dot for free. If you’d like to hatch any more, you will need to pay a mandatory $5 for each and every new Dot you’d like. See where this is going? You’re just feeding a company money directly for them to tease the idea of a game to you. Just go browse top paid apps & buy a full-fledged port of something for $20, you’ll play it longer than this nonsense. Also, they charge for the items you can dig up if you need specific ones, but they all “spoil” at the end of the day. Why? Anyway, even if this game had any substance to it, there’s not a single reason to expect your players to pay you literally $5 a day presuming they’re hatching a new Dot every day (which is the only reason to have the app at all). You might as well subscribe to an mmo! At least those try to impress you with things to do and reasons to be online. This is a full-on nothingburger designed by the same people who tanked their last game with the same senseless greed. You can miss me with that business, I’ll just draw my own creatures for free with any features I want!

Honestly baffling monetization. The game itself is relatively pleasing to look at and fun to play for a day or two. However, the main element that makes the game interesting (breeding) is locked behind a 5 dollar purchase that only gets you a single breeding nest. In addition, using this nest costs Sundrops, another form of currency, and actually being able to inherit features from both parents generally costs Gems, yet another currency. To void the Gem cost, you have to level up quite a bit, which is really an uninteresting slog unless you’re routinely shelling out 5 dollars for each new Dot. Even then, there’s not actually a whole lot you can do with them, and very little incentive to go out and explore your environment. The only long-term “goal” is to discover all the Archetypes, which based on nest costs is prohibitively expensive (at LEAST 125 dollars assuming every nest is successful and no gems are required). I was looking forward to this game for a while, and I’m very disappointed with this outcome. Maybe in a year or so they’ll have made things more reasonable, but I don’t have a lot of hope.

Good idea - but pay to play and buggy. I love the feel of raising and caring for your dots. Love playing with them, feeding them, teaching them tricks. But there are some massive issues that right now I can’t overlook. The biggest issue is that you need to spend money (and a lot of it!) to get nests to raise more dots. $5 per nest, with only 1 free, is ridiculous when a main draw for this game was to breed and raise multiple dots. Can’t do that without nests, and the only way to get those is spend money. Hard pass. The other issues I have are the bugs in the game itself. It often stops responding or recognizing locations/people/animals and has to be closed and reopened to have the hope that it will recognize things. The forced AR is a battery draining nightmare and while it’s cute to see your dot in your environment it often glitches and disappears or has missing cells. The game has no ability to sense things when it is even remotely dark out (I will often take walks after dark to wind down and I hoped to be able to play with my dot during them). The dots want you to feed them specific foods or play with specific balls, but the random generation of items means you can be searching for a ball type or food for 10 minutes without finding it - and good luck if you need an item from a biome that you can’t currently access. TLDR: Overall I love the idea. The pay to play makes the game unplayable. And the glitches and battery draining aspects are also difficult to manage.

So cute and fun to play, until you have to pay. This game is everything that you could possibly want out the makers of Pokémon Go. It is truly a beautiful game and the creatures are all so unique, adorable in their own ways, with different traits that you breed to your liking. You get to play with them, feed them, but instead of just having food or having coins to “buy” food, you scavenge for food with your friend. It is an incredible game!!! Yet, after you have your second Peridot, the game is worthless to play unless you are a pay to play person. You cannot breed any more Peridots nor can you really continue to do anything “special” other than the same actions with your friend which in turn levels them up, but again, that really doesn’t do much. I have come to the point where I have stopped playing until they make a way for players to earn nests (which is how players can breed Peridots) because others it is a waste of time. We should not have to pay to play and this type of pay to play idea should be labeled as such up front if they want players to actually continue to play their game.

Great AI!. Dots are so adorable! Yes, I admit the game can be glitchy, but it makes sense since there are lots of features in the game. A while back, people weren’t happy about the prices the developers put on the nests, but the developers read the reviews and added a free way to earn nests! I’m glad the developers listen to their players. My conclusion is that Peridot is a great game filled with cute Dots. I’d give this game a six-star if I could. I also hope fans who had their hearts broken when they realized the price on nests will give the game another chance. Edit: The game has been making really cool updates like feral dots! Although they added many awesome updates, I think the developers should continue to work on AI and making new animations that make the dots come to life. The game is already really good and I think it can become even better.

Fun, but not “willing to break the bank” fun.. Growing up as a tamagotchi kid, I love playing this game. Going on walks with my dots, showing them a tree or a flower, digging in some dirt, playing fetch, seeing them grow up, etc. but I cannot justify spending so much money. If it was $1/nest with discount bundles from there, that would feel reasonable, considering it takes a dot about 3-4 days to mature so I’d be buying them so often. $5 just to continue progressing the game, without opportunities to buy with in-game money? No way, no app game is worth that. I’ve spent a decent of money on PoGo through the years, but at least I don’t absolutely HAVE to in order to progress, and that game is also getting too expensive for me to care about lately. Besides the paywall, I also wish the hatch-a-dot system was less clunky. Having to send a message in Campfire, which is a separate app, and hoping somebody else checks their messages? The “send seed gift” should be replaced with the hatch request, since exchanging the same 400 seeds back and forth with someone seems pointless. Love the idea behind the game, but the execution is lacking. I’ll play it again in the future if the paywall issue is mitigated, but for now it makes sense to abandon my 2 free dot pets...

Fun, but the monetization needs work. As it stands, I don’t know if this game will succeed with its current monetization scheme. It’s very fun, but I’m simply not going to pay for a service that may be pulled shortly into the future because its overzealous monetization prevented it from appealing to enough players. Hatch-a-dot is a core mechanic, and necessary to complete the gameplay loop. Not to mention that breeding dots to collect ‘archetypes’ of traits is treated as the long term goal of the game. Doing so obviously is meant to take many rounds of breeding with an element of luck in finding partners and randomizing baby dot traits. Paying for just the chance to obtain the dot a player wants is sure to turn many people away, myself included. It’s a shame, because I’m enjoying the game otherwise. I wouldn’t mind buying a premium currency to breed a dot with a specific appearance more quickly, or picking up some real-world merch if I was sure I would be able to enjoy this game long-term. I hope that Niantic can make some meaningful changes soon.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Peridot seemed like a good game but by time I was less then 10 minutes in I realized that the nests meant to breed peridots were locked behind a paywall of 4.99, and that the “nest fragments” that existed in the beta were no more, and with just the 1 nest given out of pity for the player I decided to keep playing, but little did I know it only got worse, with some traits of peridots being behind levels far into the 30s I felt like I was getting spit at, trying to find a small bit of hope I reached out to other players nearby me but was only met with radio silence until nearly 3 days had passed, finally after 5 days of playing the game I was finally able to breed a peridot, but with a astronomical cost of about 1,337 gems to unlock the two star and three star traits behind a level lock I found myself unwilling to continue playing, this game had tons of potential despite having the model of most nft scams, and I wouldn’t have minded the scam like micro transactions if ordinary players had at least the ability to have more then 2 peridots, however with no ability to even do that I ultimately lost any hope I had for this game lasting more then a year, without major changes in the gameplay and the core structure of earning Peridot might as well just shut the stables doors and throw out the key.

Great game but…. This truly is a fun, cute, and great game but I do have some issues.. I’ll start withy biggest issue.. The nests. I understand that this game is new and does need advertisements and money to keep it free but my favorite part of the game is raising them but that’s kinda difficult when you hate paying for stuff in games. What I would suggest is finding a way to pay for a nest with sun drops or gemstones. I would say maybe about 500 gemstones or 5000 sundrops because to get that amount of sundrops or gemstones it would cost close to $5 which is the price for a nest. Another issue is sometimes my dots will go into the ground and into walls and turn grey which is a weird sight to see but it’s not too often. It usually happens when playing fetch which my dot. The ball will get all glitchy and go into the ground or through walls which ends up making my dot grey and go through the floor or wall. Also sometimes there’ll be a glitch where if I close out of the game for a second while walking and then re open it, I’ll get the message that appears when in a vehicle even though I wasn’t in a vehicle. And here is my last suggestion. When I’m a vehicle and is a passenger, I feel like it would be cool if the dot could also sit in the vehicle with you. It would be pretty nice seeing my little dot sitting in a car with me. Anyways this is a great game and I do believe it will get incredibly better and way more fun than it is now.

A Slippery Slope 💔. This game is incredibly adorable. It has incentivized me to get out and exercise or just simply enjoy nature. I’ve been playing it nonstop since I downloaded the app (30+ day login bonus streak currently). There is quite a lot of love and passion put into this game and it is clear to see! However, I simply cannot recommend it to anyone in its current state. As of now the main draw / feature advertised to folks is breeding new Peridots to unlock rarer traits and cuter “dots” as they call them. The problem lies in the fact that there is no feasible way to obtain nests through in-game play. I’ve completed all of my dailies, weeklies, dot’s desires, login bonus… nothing! You only get one nest to start off with so you can hatch one new dot beyond the default one you chose at the beginning. If you do wish to pursue hatching dots regardless of not being able to obtain them with in-game methods you’ll have to spend $5.00 USD per nest. That doesn’t sound like a whole lot but it will certainly add up quick. There should always be an option for folks to buy extra nests on the shop if they want to — but I will not be spending money for each individual time I want to try breeding a new Peridot. If you just want a single (or two) pocket pet(s), this game is for you. Please don’t expect to be able to breed more Peridots like the advertisements imply unless you’re willing to open your wallet.

Supposed to get you out and exploring like Pokémon Go. So, my s/o and I have been avid PoGo players for YEARS now. Lately, I haven’t been too enthused by playing that - so I downloaded this. I LOVE the concept of this game. However, when my s/o and I go for our daily walks, we don’t get a ton of walking done because in order to ‘catch’ feral dots, I have to completely stop and stand there not moving while I attempt to save them. He has straight up gotten frustrated with me because ‘how are we supposed to enjoy our walk if you have to stop every 10 seconds’ - and I agree. In pogo, you can turn AR mode off if you’re on a walk, and catch your Pokémon. Or even keep it on and still catch your Pokémon. That isn’t possible with this game - and I just don’t get it. To gain XP, catching feral dots is one of the best ways to do so after the daily quests/desires. It just doesn’t make sense to me that a game that wants you to get out and explore would make it so that you have to stop anytime you want to actually play - when they have literally another game where you can walk around and constantly be playing and walking.

Pay to Win! On day 1!. In a game about breeding Dots, so you can real se them into the wild, to save the Dot population, you guessed it, you gotta breed! But niantic wants their cut every single time! The ONLY way to breed is with two adult dots and a nest. The ONLY way to get nests is paying money to Niantic. $5 per next, and they’re single use. There is no other way. Not to mention that the game has been stripped to bare bones compared to beta there is nothing to do. You can’t grind tricks because your dot will refuse the food, you can make your dot too tired to play, you can’t breed without paying so once they grow up that’s it. I was excited about this game for the past year since I didn’t make it into the beta, and now I’m disappointed. Don’t waste your memory space or money. The devs refuse to even notice the community’s cries, they have stripped the game to digging up sandwiches, they say breeding isn’t actually an important part of the game, and are slowly removing more traits from Dots to lessen complexity. It’s not worth it unless you have just tons of money to blow to be able to play it.

Seemed promising, but is pretty disappointing. The game starts out well, with a choice between three colored eggs that, when you choose one, leads to a cute little companion. The first few days were fun and I enjoyed exploring with my unique dot while slowly raising it to adulthood. But then we come to the breeding mechanism. For such a crucial aspect of a “free” game—the aspect that is most advertised and encouraged—breeding is extremely paywalled. It’s laughable to call this a free game, because unless you’re content to pay money every few days to continue on in the advertised mission of expanding the species, you’ve pretty much just got a slightly interact-able creature that, once reaching adulthood where it essentially has no other use than for breeding, serves no purpose but to drain your phone battery as fast as possible. Could have been a very promising game, but I don’t know how much longer I’ll keep it around, as there are plenty of other apps that could take up storage and drain battery while providing a much more enjoyable and affordable gameplay experience.

So much potential. This game looks and appears so beautiful and unique however after reading the comments in the groups from beta testers it has changed tremendously from that version. I’ve played PoGo since day 1, I now have been playing this since day 1 as well in hopes Niantic will help create a way to not make this all about money. A nest to breed one is far too expensive, and there needs to be something additionally added to help with xp gain, it seems to level up quite slowly and could use some additional missions. Being in AR mode all the time also drains the battery so much, there needs to be a “playroom” or something to that effect created so you don’t have to be in it all the time. Maybe even a way to save your favorite habitat in 360 view so your dot can have all that play room in case you can not leave your house that day etc. a feature to assist in re-rolling your eggs somehow via sun drops or gems would be great but the ability to highlight the ones you’re most desiring even if it’s only one option would be really nice. So many people are wanting specifically 1 thing more than others plus it would prompt more breeding to finally acquire your ultimate dot if it’s only 1 benefit at a time added to each version, heck even paying gems or sundrops to keep a feature and choosing multiples would be a great option during breeding. I look forward to watching this game develop and become something great it has so much going for it.

Forced Boycotting for community. This game is something I’ve been excited about for a couple years now. Glad it’s out, but horrified to find that it’s just riddled with the classic Niantic pay to play system even though they advertise as a free to play creatures breeding game. Oh btw if you got the game intending on playing it as it was designed, prepare to have to pay to do so. Promises of grandeur never come to fruition from Niantic, all they want is to mine your data while you mindlessly tap your screen and pay them to do so. This game is flailing in the water on release, many features available in beta testing have been removed or switch to pay to access them. Niantic reworked this app to line their own pockets so badly that the entire community is boycotting nest purchases and any other payable feature they’ve surprised us with after release. The community as a whole plans to allow this game to die off if Niantic doesn’t fix their pricing and treatment of their players. I heavily suggest anyone planning on getting this game, seek out their discord server first that way you can get real honest player info from other players and the community.

Short Term Fun. I had found myself often times during the last year thinking I would love a Tamogotchi type app on my phone that was pretty and well developed. While I looked around and tried a couple apps nothing was quite right. I really love the concept of this app and during the first couple days of playing I was pretty enamored, but that kind of quickly wore off. There just isn’t enough things to actually do with your dot. Anyone who has kept up with Tamogochis these days know that the game has evolved beyond just simply taking care of the daily needs of your pet and this app could benefit from that. Also, of course the paywall. It’s insane. Absolute insanity. I don’t expect (unlike a lot of people it seems) to not have to have in-app purchases especially on a free app. I just wish they were reasonable. I saw on boards that initially there were options around building nests previously in beta versions of the game. Some combo of that with paying for nests would make much more sense to me. Like yes, make me pay for cosmetics or things that speed up results, but not for the basic point of the game.

AMAZING! I’m sorry niantic. Honestly im amazed with how amazing this game is. The AR feature is incredible for just starting out! I love the tomogatchi like play style with the uniqueness of NFTs despite all the problems the game is still new and im so impressed. Im so excited too see where this goes since its first Niantic specific server since Ingress which is still going strong after almost if not over a decade!!! So fun to see the business knowledge ive seen taken. over the years. from ingress breaking the gaming indestry with location based gaming, to AR in pogo creating its very own genre of games with unique twist! I notice the slow starts after the 2017 server problems and i commend you all for your skill in attention to your flaws to fix too the unique creativity you bring with every single original game. I know with all the backlash due to prices and everything is a lot but at the end of the day yall are fantastic programmers minimum for the games that have been released over the years. Thank you and im super excited for the future of this game

Has potential. This game really does have potential to be great, but it’s almost as if hitting a wall as soon as your first dot grows up and you have no way to earn new nests besides the one that comes. There is nothing more that can be done besides repeating the same few actions feed , play and do tasks. On Apple device I haven’t been able to add any friends for the whole time since launch and I feel as though that makes it discouraging to find things to do or want to use my one and only nest. While waiting for more updates to fix the glitches there is not much to do with no friends, no way to earn nests etc . I want to keep playing and enjoying hatching new dots but after liking a game so quick and relizing it’s going to use my real money to play more than a few days and not at all any way to earn the nests by playing the game it’s hard. I understand having some paid feature but the nests are the CORE part of the game and should at least be earnable so people can get hooked and then more rare ones or packs could be paid… please fix the friends list as I really wanna keep playing.

Cute and easy game, but some problems. Yesterday, my friend recommended me this game. When I tried it, it was very fun, and still is! It is so fun raising a Dot, going to different types of terrain and habitats! I feel that it really connects you to other people near you, and makes you explore. The genetics system is fascinating and will definitely inspire some people. One tiny problem I have with the game is the nests. I love how you can hatch new Dots, but a $5 nest is too much for some people and I think there should be another way to acquire one. It is great how the developers have supplied a free one, but for people who move ahead quickly in games could have a problem. It would be a much easier way to get new nests or Dots by having the user unlock a nest every ten or so levels, with maybe a few requirements and such for getting a new nest. Maybe they could earn more profit by letting people adjust 5 traits to have higher chances or more rare appearances for $5 per nest, or something like that. Thank you for reading.

Very fun so far. So far I’m impressed! I first thought, yeah ok, another digital pet game. But Niantic usually puts out decent games. So I gave it a go. For a digital pet game, it’s really fun. You can feed, train and grow your pet. It even interacts with the real environment! That’s impressive. You can also let your Peridot wear accessories lol. Is it better than Tamagotchi? Not really. Tamagotchi is still fun in its own way. It’s more traditional, as in everything is just on screen. Where Peridot is mostly AR reliant and relies on real surroundings. Think of comparing Super Mario to Sonic the Hedgehog. To each their own. UPDATE: I knocked it a star because this game is battery hog! I don’t make a lot of time playing this game but by the end of the day my battery meter is in the red. I have a 14 Pro Max and I get lots of battery life, but ever since I started playing this game, my phone is really low by the end of the day. Please fix this, Niantic.

Great Game, But…. I love this game. I was a fan of Tamagotchi back in the day, and Peridot is like a better version of that. The game is new and there are limited things to do right now, but I’m sure that there will be new features added over time, which I am looking forward to. HOWEVER… Nests being behind a paywall is a game killer. I get making them rare-ish, but right now there is no way outside of paying real money ($5) to hatch new dots. So basically after you get your free nest for starting the game, you’re stuck. Once your Dot becomes an adult, there isn’t much left to do if you can’t breed new ones. I’m hoping that something will be added to address the issue with Nests. Make them purchasable with Sundrops, since those can be acquired in game. That right there would be a big plus. You need sundrops to breed your Dots so it would require playing and saving them up to both buy a Nest and breed a new baby. Once the Nest issue is resolved, I will happily revise this review to 5 stars!

Loading a lot. After you hatch your pet, the screen keeps loading. The peridots are cute though. I wish it would load on my iPad so I can enjoy the game.

Money grab!. You could buy Nests with Blightbux. Finally another way to get Nests. Oh wait, it’s gone. Penny pinching, money grabbing scaaaaaaaaaaaaam.

Super cute. It’s soo cute, would be better if you were able to find or dig or nests instead of $7

Kristen likes this game. Wow Peen

Overpriced and underwhelming. Way too expensive for very little reward.

Fun game. It’s really good! I just think baskets should be cheaper

0 stars. ): I want to play it, my phone was hacked like 7 years ago but not anymore and it still crashes everytime I open the game. That is just mean.

Stupid pay wall. I loved the game until I realise you can’t breed without paying a decent amount every time. It’s extremely unreasonable seeing as that’s the main reason to play. If you can’t pay you play. This shouldn’t be advertised as free to play. Please make it so that you can earn nests some how and I’d be more inclined to pay for the game

MUST HAVE. So far I have NOTHING bad to say about this game. ITS SO CUTE!?!? My dot is called Sharky and they are the love of my life, so good for people who can’t afford real pets! Just like tamagotchi, but with so many new mechanics! The idea of breeding my dot with others to find new archetypes of dot is so exciting!

Good but money block. It’s a great game and love the graphics I just hate how I have to pay to get new baby dots

Not a free game - charges you to play. This game about breeding critters charges you real life money to breed. It’s $8Au for every single breeding. That’s a ridiculous price for a game with nothing else going on. Just make the actual game cost money to play instead of this free to play trick but then the CORE PART of the game costs money with no free option to work towards. Straight up scam

Feels incomplete, poorly executed. Whilst the concept is incredibly cute, there is very little in the way of ongoing gameplay. Once you’ve raised your Dot to an adult and done 1 breeding, then raised that baby to an adult, you’re done unless you want to pay $5 every time to breed. In a game whose final end game is to unlock colour combinations and archetypes, that’s almost impossible in the current format. Additionally there is no incentive to keep playing as the only thing you can do apart from the paywall-locked breeding is to feed foraged items, and throw a ball. The game feels like it’s in a beta test and should be part of a much larger game, but this is it. I hope Niantic comes up with more reasons to keep playing, otherwise it’s worth about a week of fun, then it’s straight to the uninstall pile. Edit: My rating has been dropped to 1 due to a number of near-game breaking bugs. Game sees my dogs as people, and takes minutes of scanning to see a dog as a dog. The tiny finger movements designated as pats are no longer working as pats and are causing the Dots to scavenge instead. Plants are scanning as unnatural surfaces. Dots are ignoring more than half of the food thrown to them. Please fix this.

Nests shouldn’t require money. Hi I noticed how nests require 5 dollars to purchase and as a 12 year old who isn’t allowed to pay for things on my phone even if it’s my own money I found that pretty annoying.Making nests require money defeats the entire point of the game.I thought that maybe nests could cost in game currency and if you wanted one that you could use multiple times you could pay actual money.Another idea I had was that 1 nest could be used an infinite amount of times and the more nests you have the more eggs you could hatch at once (assuming it takes time for them to hatch) an you could pay money to have more (obviously there would have to be a 1 day cool-down before your dot can breed again). If it doesn’t take time to hatch an egg then I thought we could still use that idea (with the 1 day cool down and infinite use of a nest) but instead of paying money for more nests you could pay money to immediately end the cool-down.If you used any of these ideas then it could REALLY make the game more optimal for children and people that don’t want to spend money on a game. This game is still fun but it would be better if I didn’t have to wait like 30 days for a new nest. Thanks for reading this far I hope you have a great day.

Unacceptable pricing. I’m not opposed to paying to play games, but that’s for things like an upfront cost to download the app or purchasing unnecessary extra resources if I want the experience to be easier. This game wants to you pay every time for an item that is essential to the main purpose of the game. That’s messed up.

Therapy. This game has taught me much about loving all sentient life and also healthy desire.

Best game ever , -a girl 💖. Beat game ever , I definitely would recommend it, this game is my favourite game now but to the peridot makers maybe let us customise a dot or two

Graphics. You can’t always see your dot. Which makes the experience a bit poor. There is also not enough activities within the game. I feel like they will introduce new things.

Nests. Any 5star review you read is before they realise (~2days in) that they will need to Pay 5$ to breed dots. Breeding dots is an essential part of this game. This will cost you 5$ each time (to buy a single use nest to hatch them in). This game would be really playable if they found an alternate way to monetise it. Making nests a purchase only feature brakes the central mechanic of the game. Breeding subsequent dots to expand your appearance and attributes (exciting) becomes redundant. Therefore as a player your enjoyment will peak after the second day when your dot becomes an adult when in essence you’ve completed the game. Could be easily fixed by returning the ability to hunt for and find nest fragments. usability - campfire integration weird - I don’t know how to access it and send a hatch request to someone every time I want to read my messages (only way I know to open them)

Can okay get more nests if you pay real money. It’s a great idea and way to do that whole “pet” game thing but after getting a free nest you have to pay real money for nests to make more Dots, like come on now, after I use this nest that’s it. I liked raising my Dots and training them but this is ridiculous

THIS IS A SCAM. my child realy wanted this game and i did everything to make a account. And the asked to put a photo of your credit card and driver’s license DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP IT IS A SCAM

Downfall. I played 4-5 months ago and I would of rated it 5 stars when nests were obtainable by gems. But $8 AUD for a nest is crazy. Please make it back how it was in beta

Way Too Expensive. The whole point of the game is hatching new dots but it costs so much! No point playing after using the free nest, and the nest wasn’t even reusable. Hoping they make this feature free in future, and unlocking traits more reasonably priced.

Peridot. Peridot is a great app/game for everyone, I struggle with many mental disorders and this app helps encourages me to get out and about the only struggle is the cost of the game itself. As I am struggling with mental disorders I have been put on a work exception there for I’m unemployed and can’t afford the nest which is required for main game play.

Fun, cute and social... Peridot is a cute, fun way to spend time. It’s nice to breed your own unique dots and watch them grow. Everyone is helpful, and I enjoy the social interaction. The only downside is the cost of items in the store. Not really feasible for children, or those with no spare money.

Great concept, money grab. This is such a great concept and fun way to teach loose genetic concepts to kids. But the fact that you get very few nests in game and a single nest costs $8 is just crazy. Pure cash grab that’s just frustrating to play with no chance to earn nests more regularly.

Nests. 5* if you bring back the ability to make nests and release Dots to free a nest for a new Dot… I have one nest left and once that’s used I’ll not be playing and certainly not paying to play. Shame really Niantic! Your pricing in all your games is point blank greedy! What’s the thinking???

Okay ig... It overheats my phone really fast, and I haven’t been able to actually play the game for awhile now due to a glitch it keeps telling me I need to teach my dot tricks which I have but then I get stuck on the screen after you teach at the trick and I can’t even log out of the account or anything to start another one

Too expensive. This game is super cute and would be super addictive but having to pay for a nest everytime is ridiculous… you don’t even need to do that with Pokémon.

Pay to breed.... This game mainly focuses on breeding and unlocking other appearances/ creatures, but you need to pay for every breeding (need to buy an item in order to breed) after your second peridot. Never thought this company would be this greedy.

Scam. Paywall after first time you breed your peridot. Game has very little to do. Throw a ball, feed it a sandwich, pet it, walk it. Can’t breed to get different colours and types unless you pay $7 or more for a nest. Don’t bother with this game

No way you’re getting my info!. I was excited to get this fir my son, but it asks for our location… and then your credit card details or photo your ID. No way!! What a shame!!

Breeding game that forces you to pay to breed. You get to breed ONCE before you need to pay $5USD every time you want to breed. No that $5 nest is NOT reusable. There is also no way currently to grind or earn nests for free. Kids accounts also cannot breed because they force you to use their chat app campfire to ask to breed. The community is very unhappy with the current state of the game. I have seen no one defending or praising the game except those haven’t yet realised the hard paywall.

I was stating to fall in love with this game. The game is very fun and super addictive. I really like the aspect of breeding your Peridots with others to make unique combinations. I also just love pet sims in general. The problem came in when I saw the price for nests (which is a base component for breeding Peridots in game). Far too expensive! Not to mention that there is currently no way to earn nests in game. I understand that games need to make money, but what happened to free to play games that let you earn items slowly in combination with reasonably priced items? Not everyone can afford such high prices, and imo long-term fan loyalty ends up getting you the most money. I’ll be uninstalling this game for now with hopes that they fix some of this in future.

Love it !!. Am obsessed. Love my peridots and all the different combinations you can hatch. Although my original buddy will always be my favourite. Great game to play at home or on walks.

Really enjoying!. Encourages walking, great interaction. Love it so far!

Does not work. I have made 4 accounts with different names so far that I cannot access as it freezes and quits after picking the first egg and I then have no way of logging into said accounts because I was never offered to set a password or contact method. I have the latest iPad so I know the problem isn’t on my end. Very lame :(

Love it - get it it’s the bomb😘. Love this nothing like it around a virtual pet that you train and grow it’s amazing 😻

let us release dots to reuse nests. we aren’t given enough nests for how many new archetypes are released. then you run out of resources and have to waste a nest on a dot you don’t want.

Paywalled.. I’d rate 5 * for the creativity of the game however it’s heavily paywalled. Nests cost $8 each and if you want to continue breeding to get new dots it’ll be $8 each time.

I hate this stupid game. I hate this stupid game

Make another way to get nests. The developers are ignoring the feedback- it’s clear the player base really wants another way to get nests. The game’s main feature is paywalled, there’s no way to get more dots without paying. It’s a fun game, but hard to enjoy when nests are so expensive.

Good! But. The game is adorable and I really love to play! But, you HAVE to pay real money to get nests to have more dots. I could understand having to collect the in game gems, which are harder to obtain. But $7 Canadian is too much for one nest. I really like playing, but there is too much dependency on buying the in game things. Having more free/accessible nests or even purchasable nests with the in game gems would make it so much better!

Great potential. The AR is delightful, I swear my “dot” was looking at my feet. But there MUST be a free way to get nests or this game will have no future. With a way to gget free nests it is 5 stars no question. Like tamagotchi for the 21st century.

Has potential, seriously lacking currently. This game has potential to be amazing! I’m already basically addicted to it, however there’s a serious problem with how the keeper leveling works and breeding. You can only gain so much keeper experience in a day, which isn’t HORRIBLE other then the fact that after your Dot is an adult, you can’t do anything with it unless you want to pay to breed it. It’s like 7 dollars Canadian for EACH time you want to breed besides the first one. If they make it more like the beta where you can collect nest parts it will be an amazing game, but right now it’s fun for like 4 days that’s it.

This is madness. Are you kidding me? CAD7 per one, ONE dot you can max out in two hours and have nothing else to do with?? Whoa, I used to admire Niantic for keeping and amazing balance between paying and non-paying players in Pogo, but now I see it was frobably Nintendos idea.

Niantic again neglects northerners. The outrageous pay per play after your Period grows was expected. But I’m disappointed that A LOT of the daily tasks include looking at a flower, or tree trunk, when where I live, there are no trees, and there’s not going to be flowers for another month. Otherwise it’s fun.

Paywall. Good game to start but hits a pay wall fast and hard, progress is completely stoped by $5 per game loop requirement and fee will repeat again and again. After this clear cash grab I feel disappointed and insulted….

You have to PAY per breeding attempt!!!. The beta version of this game had a load of features that they scrapped. Someone at Niantic chose to dumb the game down and make it into a money churning NFT style of scam. Any time you want to breed a new pet, which is presently the CORE purpose the game is built around, you have to spend 7 bucks here. That’s for a chance at the results you want, and then you have to level up to be allowed to access specific traits. You can’t work to earn what you want, pretty much anything worthwhile in this game is gated. The AI is no better than the animals in PETZ. In beta you could build nests and there were wild versions to catch so it had playability without making you pay to play. It’s like they’re deliberately trying to tank something that could have been so fun and innovative. It would be more apt to say Tamagotchi walked so that Peridot could stumble and fall flat on its face.

Glitchy but cute and paywall is ridiculous. So I’ve run into some glitches with the foraging in different places, game seems not to recognize the difference between grass and my hard wood floor and gravel/sand so it’s been stopping me from completing things, also the fact that my dot wants to see flowers (of which I have none and there’s none on my walks) and it doesn’t recognize fake ones apparently as a thing is kinda annoying, this nests for 7$ is entirely horrible idea if the name of the game is to breed why should we have to pay for the basic thing we need to do that with?? I’d understand if it were a multiple nest thing like say it gives the possibility of multiple babies but not for one…. That’s just simply stated a rip off, even Pokémon go has free incubators for eggs…. Like give it a rest, you’re not expecting people to play for long or rather not expecting many new breeds to come out of this if you expect us to pay every time lol that’s laughable at best, all in all cute little game but some poor unfortunate soul was allowed to make it a paywall instead of something you could enjoy properly

Great way to get outside. I have seen some new places while playing this game

Glitches. No matter what it won’t let me get past teaching it’s first treat!

Great game but pay to play. I love the game, but $5/nest to be able to breed is crazy! I would love to see a widget for IOS though so I could keep an eye on my Dot from my Home Screen

Paywall. Can’t continue playing the game without constantly paying $7.

Amazing game!. I really hope this game doesn’t fail like minecraft earth or something

core gameplay loop locked behind a paywall. The game itself is cute and fun but the fact that you have to pay for nests makes it unplayable. The entire point of the game is to breed your dots but they've locked this feature behind a $5 ($7 where I am!) paywall. There is no other way to attain these nests and this game is going to fall off quickly if people have to pay every time they want to access the core mechanic of this game.

Cute but pay to play. Cute game, love the idea but you can only use real money to get necessary items to play the game further. It’s new so hopefully they change this.

Fun. It’s such a fun game to play

Free or playtoearn nests. Cannot give it a positive review until the paywall is fixed. Without $7 you literally cannot continue to play this “free game”

Good early game, locked behind paywall. Its adorable and fun, but paying $6 for every nest afterwards is ridiculous. Maybe if it was 4-6 for $6 would be better or even one free one a week. Would also like to see one Nest that doesn’t break like the incubator in pogo. I would also love to see more ways to get EXP to level up not. Last, would like the ability to find and adopt stray Peridots on our adventures.

Game is fun, but nests are expensive!!. You cannot collect/breed more peridots without buying nests which are about $7 for a single use. Maybe if nests were a part of daily log in bonus, or the nests were cheaper, it’d be much better.

Nests. There is a huge pay wall to a key feature of the game. There should be a way to craft nest, why charge so much so that I can breed my pet?

Pay to play. It’s a modern tamagotchi, where you can feed and play with your pet. You raise it from infancy to adulthood, where the only new thing to do is breed your pet to unlock a different appearances (which can only be unlocked by levelling up your user level). You cannot breed new pets without paying cash for nests. Beyond that, there’s not much else to do and it gets boring pretty fast.

Gets boring fast. On day 1 after downloading I had an absolute blast. Adorable creature that was uniquely mine. What a great hook to get me interested. Within 36 hours my baby was now an adult with nothing left to do except breed once and be put on a shelf. Bottom line is that there is literally no game here. Niantic has spent a huge amount of effort to design what amounts to a 2 day distraction. It’s absolutely stunning to me that they released this “game” without actually adding any gaming elements.

Nests. Love the game but I can’t hatch-a-dot because I don’t have anymore nests I’m not allowed to spend real money on games could you please make nests buyable with in game money Or make nest a reward in daily logins

Mostly Pay to Play. A core gameplay feature, hatching dots, is not free and is expensive. I would’ve been willing to pay for EXTRAS (some traits, accessories, etc.) not for the main feature. This just feels greedy and hopes that the cute AR will carry it. I doubt it when there’s next to no gameplay unless you pay and pay A LOT. But for a few days, I did enjoy feeding and playing with a cute creature in augmented reality and got a few pictures… That’s it though. I hatched a dot but without a real goal for a free-to-play/casual paying player, I don’t have much interest in raising it or continuing to play. A child might enjoy it for longer, but be aware that hatching more dots is only available for accounts 13+ since it relies on the Campfire app.

Misleading ad campaign. Pay to play.. The game’s main focus is to encourage players to breed and diversify their species. This is why you’re downloading the app - unless you’re content only to watch a small animal excavate whole turkey sandwiches from your hardwood for several hours. If that’s not riveting enough, you’re in for a bad time. To breed just once with another Peridot, you have no choice but to purchase one nest for five dollars (real-life currency). Every single time you want to breed - which, if you’re hoping to play the game as intended, will be a lot - you have to pay another five dollars. The nest item is single-use only. There is currently no way to earn nests in-game. I repeat: the single, core game mechanic you’re downloading this game to experience is gatekept behind an honestly insulting price. I started up the game yesterday, and have already leveled up my Dot to adulthood by doing.. not much. So I’ve reached the point where I’m expected to fork over currency in a measly 24 hours. What incentive do I have to so spend much on something I am not yet remotely attached to? Okay, but let’s play devil’s advocate here. You decide you want a baby. And hey, what’s five dollars, right? You’d better hope the RNG gods are in your favour, because if you don’t like the gene mix of your new Dot and want to try breeding again, that’ll run you another $5. You want a whole family of Dots? You want to do a completionist run to collect every DNA combo in the game? Yeah, enjoy spending hundreds. Thousands. There’s supposedly an endless amount of combinations. Yeah, I’d rather go to college. Seriously though, I have real concerns about the current pay-to-progress system, in that I think it is going to drive a game with fantastic potential into the ground. I understand the game needs to make money, but this is actively harming player retention on Day 1 of launch.. not a good look. Please remove the need to pay for core game mechanics. PLEASE REMOVE THE NEED TO PAY FOR CORE GAME MECHANICS. Please add other, free ways to enjoy the game fully. Payment should be optional and only implemented as an incentive to play, not a barrier. It should absolutely restricted to cosmetic accessories, boosters and the like. Or perhaps add a multi-egg nest where you’re guaranteed 2 or more hatchlings per clutch. That I could see myself paying for, but still absolutely not for $5. Have players find creative ways to earn materials to build nests! Have your Dot go out and dig, and watch them build a little nest in your home excitedly. Have free nesting areas or drops at local landmarks & Habitats. Have the ability to switch off AR and spare my phone battery for a bit. Create a space to chill with your pet when you can’t open your camera and swing your phone around. Make this space able to be decorated and furnished. It could even come with a preset theme or “biome” dependent on your Dot’s genes. Aquatic Dots get a pool. Tropical dots get a rainforest. Arctic dots get a freezer. You get the idea. If you must implement paid items.. that would be the ideal space. Have nests that last longer than a single use before being consumed. Add wild Dots and more diversified encounters. Hell, I wouldn’t even mind a short, unobtrusive ad specifically when I go to Hatch-A-Dot. I’d take that over spending any day. In short, here’s what I’d recommend to a prospective downloader at the moment: DO download the game. DO enjoy the cute animations, the fun of foraging, and discovering neighbours nearby. It’s barebones right now, to be sure, but kind of to be expected at launch. DO NOT spend money on the game. DO NOT become overly attached to your Dot - unless you are prepared to spend a significant amount of money.

Bad Game. If I could give less than 1 star I would, everything is paywalled and I can’t justify spending so much money on a little creature that just looks at you, I was lucky and started out with a pretty cute creature, but raising them is almost boring so why would I spend money to waste my time? If nests were free I might consider playing but otherwise this game isn’t very good to begin with.

MAKE BASKETS FREE PLS OMGGGGG😭🙏. This game is really fun but its unfair that we have to pay money to hatch more dots and i really hope you creators will listen to your players and make baskets free. This game has a lot of potential and it was extremely disappointing when i realized that you only get one free basket and then you have to pay 5-7$ for another one. Its outrageous and more people would play this game if it wasnt so expensive to breed.

Pay to play. I was really upset to find out that after the first free nest you are unable to buy nests in game with in game currency You have to pay about 5 dollars for a nest This seems really unfair and targeted. Why isn’t there a way to use in game gems to buy nests? A huge part of this game is breeding and you can’t even do that without paying real money.

It’s ok. The game seems to be borrowing a lot from Pokémon but adds a new twist in the sense that you have to use AR therefore you’re more likely to move around. There are lots of clipping and animation issues when the software gets confused with what I suppose to be the surface for the pet to be on, also general animations are bad especially interacting with food and object that sort of just stick to the pet’s face with the eating sounds, doesn’t look good please work on improving that. Interactions are ok but there should be more and the growth needs to be slower and require more work so that people don’t get bored of the app after 5 minutes of play.

Cute but unreasonably expensive. I really enjoy the game but the cost of breeding the Dots is far too high to justify. In my area it costs $7.00 per Nest, so if you played at a reasonable pace and bred a Dot once every three days, it would cost $70.00 a month just to play the game normally. Additionally, the act of breeding a Dot is difficult and frustrating, as you need to seek approval from another player and many of the traits are locked until you level up or spend even more money on gems. So even when I did buy a Nest (at a discount), the purchase left me feeling bad. This is a game I'd be happy to spend money on otherwise (as I'd love to buy cute accessories or bonuses for my Dots) but I really can't justify playing right now with the price point for just the main component of the game being so high.

Adorable, and expensive. Not free to play. This game is paywalled; you cannot progress without spending a LOT of money.

Pay to play, please fix. I love the concept, I love the cute creatures, I love the breeding idea, I love the endless possibilities Please please take away the paywall on breeding, or at least make someway where players can grind or play to earn nests, you will make more money if you do, this game has so much potential, don’t waste it!

Pay to play. While this would be a great game in theory, there is a paywall surrounding the core feature of this game: having multiple dots. Once your dot is an adult, there is little reason to keep playing the game as most of the features revolve around raising and growing the dots, which you can only have one of without paying. The price isn’t cheap either, I may have excused the paywall if the price to purchase another dot was one dollar, not $7 per dot.

The MAIN feature of the game is pay-walled. This game is super cute and has great potential BUT the main feature of the game (breeding and collecting dots) is paywalled. You get one single free nest when you start and then it’s $5 per nest ($7 Canadian) which is outrageous. This means you get to breed one new dot for free and then any more you have to pay, and pay a lot, if you want to keep and collect the new dots that you’re breeding. $1 per nest would be totally acceptable but $5 is exorbitant (in the beta there was a way to farm items used to make nests). There has to be a free to play friendly way to get nests for this game to be even remotely successful. I’m writing this the day after launch so I’m really hoping they smarten up and rework this or this game is going to tank.

Full of bugs NOT free to play. #1- not free to play! You MUST pay to hatch! #2- full of bugs: not receiving proper xp from hatching, not able to send / receive gifts properly I’ve spent over 200$ on this game and you manage to just screw over your paying players more than anything else. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I love Peridot. I love the fact that they get hungry and need to be interacted with, it all adds to reality that you have a pet! Five Stars!!👌

Breeding is paywalled. Uninstalled after finding out that the only way to breed your dots is to pay for a nest - at over $5 each. The gameplay is not worth paying this every generation. Too bad, was really looking forward to this game!

Money grab that doesn’t function. First, the money needed to play this game makes it prohibitive to most people. Having to buy so much just to slowly progress. Sigh! Second, the friend list is not accessible as it goes white if you move beyond your first three friends. So no friend interaction allowed. Very cute but so many issues!!! Very dissatisfied and disappointed!

Cost of Nests. I could understand if the cost of a nest was lower, but currently it is very expensive to play with the core mechanic of the game — creating and discovering new peridots to raise. Even if they’re lower priced, adding back the mechanic of building our own nests for free with found materials would be better. Please change the pricing, or add more ways to gain nests, as most people have already raised concerns about this and about how they will be leaving the game because of it.

Cute but. Super cute game. I wish there was more ways to get baskets and a longer time between growth stages but other then that, cute game. A little pricey but cute

Pay to play, don’t waste your time. This game was so cute and it’s so well made but it is a poor attempt at a cash grab. They have made the game functionally impossible to play. This is like if you had to pay to catch Pokémon in Pokémon go. I am coming out of this game with a very negative opinion about Niantic

Delete. I wish we could get rid of dots we no longer want

potential is so there. amazing potential: but it needs some TLC. hoping niantic listens to their audience and buyers.. because the pay wall is going to make this game drop QUICK. i’ve been trying and trying to find ways to get nests without spending real money. i didn’t play when beta was out, i didn’t have the fortune of experiencing the nest build parts feature that they removed (WHY?!) i’ve been searching/grabbing the daily logins, increasing my keeper level, interacting daily with the app… nothing. it’s really disappointing and i refuse to spent 5.99$ on a nest ?! i don’t want to wait for sales on nests either. i would be WAY more willing to spend money on nests if i could work my way toward getting them without real money as well. heck, i’d be willing to spend money in general. but the elusive nest has given be a bad taste for the game and for the creators. fingers crossed they hear us and this changes

You have to pay to breed peridots. It costs $5 to buy a new “nest” in order to hatch a new dot, which is pretty much the main point of the game. You get one free nest at the start, and that’s it. Pointless and boring game otherwise.

Nest. A expensive real money item for each breeding? No way.

Want to love this. Don’t get me wrong, this game is incredibly cute! It has the potential to be fun. However, if the entire point of the game is to breed more Dots to stop them from going extinct, then having to pay for the nest each time and that’s a whopping $7 Canadian… NOPE! No thanks. I have my two Dots, and that’s because there is a free nest given for launch. However, unless Niantic gives us an option to grind or craft a nest I will not be playing anymore. As cute as this game is, only being able to play fetch, feed, and play tricks gets old fast. DO BETTER NIANTIC!

Too expensive…. I like the game but ohhh my goodness it’s too expensive to play. The prices are outrageous!

Let down. Hoped for more since this was beta tested and seemed to be going well. Sounds like adding the pay-to-play features really did a number on this game. It’s cute, but hard to advance if you’re low level keeper, and trying to level up to get access to unlocked traits before using the only free nest. Friend list glitch makes it impossible to receive or send gifts to more than the first 4 people shown. The AR-only game play, and demand for location access 100% of the time is also causing overheating; current suggested solutions do not make significant impact, especially on hot days. Overall- I just lost patience in some kind of response or improvement, and deleted the app. I also found the comments on the developer-post help chats to sound defensive and unhelpful. A single cute critter that you seem to be *stuck* with forever doesn’t seem to be worth it. I’ll stick with others for now. Maybe send an email to your lapsed users once you work out the bugs, and I’ll try again.

Lots of potential. It’s still very new and I anticipate a lot of additions to the game to fill it out. So far it’s adorable and fun for what it has to offer presently. It has gorgeous music and sound design. The dots are cute and the implementation of AR is impressive. I wish they’d allow a toggle to disable AR, or otherwise drastically improve the AR processing. During movement, the interactivity with the dots is basically nonexistent. You have to be moving extremely slow or at a standstill to be able to experience the game in full due to the AR always being on and Always trying to keep up with your movement. I look forward to seeing more updates. More games. More events and more introductions of new features.

Good concept rendered moot by terrible monetization.. The game concept is really fun. It’s like tamagotchi but with a breeding mechanic where you can mix the traits of your virtual pets with others. There is also a collection aspect, as certain combinations of traits give you 1 of 25 collection achievements. This is entirely ruined by the fact that breeding is locked behind a paywall. A store-only item is required for breeding. You receive 1 for free, and then have to pay $5 for every one after that. Without paying real money, you can only have 2 pets. That’s it. If you want to finish the collection achievements? It will cost you at least $125, if not more because each breed is not guaranteed to get you the correct trait combination. It’s horrifically money scumming. Do not download if you aren’t willing to spend $$$. Get a tamagotchi instead, it’s a better money value.

Completely pay to win.. The game concept is adorable and can even motivate some people who could be struggling to be active to get up and do stuff, such as myself. BUT the game creators are ignorant. They ignore every single person who mentions the fact that it’s $5 anytime you want to breed. WHICH IS THE POINT OF THE GAME. They have even deleted comments and such mentioning this. The game will die out very quickly, nobody will continue to pay $5 anytime they wanna breed. People are deleting the game not even a few hours or days after getting it because of the fact that the game is totally rigged. You can barley play without breeding it’s necessary for the game. Nests should be able to be bought with in game currency OR the Dots should be able to forage for pieces of nests that can eventually make a full nest which I’m pretty sure that was actually a part of Beta but got taken out. Personally. I love the game. I love the concept and the execution is great. Other than this ONE thing that they are absolutely refusing to fix just because they want money. I get that games are meant to make money but I promise. This game would make a lot more money if this paywall didn’t exist. There are still bundles and other things that cost $ that are a lot more reasonable to buy. They would make so much more money without the stupid paywall. It’s their own fault that this game will die out. Other than that. This game is great but the creators are stupid from what I can tell.

I love this game!!!! But... Peridot gave me something to do in the meantime, when I was alone in my room. They’re so cute, and I would literally cuddle mine.. (awkward moment) You heard me.. I’d say, totally give this game a try, if you want. It thankfully doesn’t have any advertisements, from what I know of, and it’s extremely new! On the other side of things, the camera has terrible lags. I mean, mine walks through walls and furniture, etc. Then, I can only hatch 2 Dots for free! The rest are way expensive. I mean, $5 for a virtual pet each. Honestly, they only care about money… Though, give this game a try! It’s overall great and gives a companion to ‘love on.’ You and I should know that since this game was just released, it has much, much more to go through in our real world. Okay bye!!

$ for nests???. I’ve loved this game so far, it’s super cute and fun. Reminds me of my old tamagotchis and I love that. My one and only complaint is that you have to pay for nests to hatch a new dot. I understand that hatching a dot is kind of an optional thing to do but it does halt what you can do in the game once your dot is an adult. There’s one free nest in the shop and I used it unaware that I’d have to pay 4.99 to get another one. I did some reading online and apparently, in the beta version of the game, you could find nest pieces to eventually make a full one. That’s a perfectly fine way to keep it free, I wouldn’t mind if they were a really rare item and I have the OPTION to purchase whole nests if I wanted to. At the end of the day, 4.99 isn’t worth one single nest and a lot of people can’t even afford that. It’s essentially a pay lock on the game and you can’t do anything else unless you open your wallet for the devs.

Ummm no. There is barely even a game here. I’m trying to enjoy this but it has way too many glaring issues. Currently where I live it is about 75 degrees. I have walked daily with my Dot and the game overheats my phone to a point it practically shuts down and it isn’t even summer yet. At least make a non AR mode to try and save some battery/heat. Let’s get to the point of this sim, breeding Dot’s for traits. That is a hard NO… you get one free nest and then after that there is no way to get more without forking over real cash. They are pricing this thing like you are getting a AAA console game with almost none of the substance. I’m playing two accounts on different devices ti try and get a full handle of it but this is a massive fail and cash grab. Be warned and don’t donate to these shenanigans, they should have at least had one infinite use nest and maybe and upgraded nest for the extra traits. I just can’t believe this is what they decided was even ethical. Niantic is already doing a great job killing off pokemongo , but there is no excuse for this.

Its a start. Currently, barebones.. Its a cute game with basic barebones features like playing with your AR pet, breeding it with other “Dots” such as random people’s near by or else where. Theres not much besides that. Like, literally nothing else. Game is a battery hog so expect it to drain your phone quickly on a walk. It also will keep an apartment block well heated in the winter months with how hot it makes your phone. A handful of bugs but that is expected. Nothing “game breaking” However, it is sad to see features in here that could have been in Pokemon Go like playing fetch with your pokemon. Having it roll around as you pet it. Digging for stuff. Basic “pet” things. But thats a review for PoGo, their 8 year old dying game lost behind corporate greed. Will we see the same for this game as we did with Niantics 4 other attempts? Such as Pikman, Harry Potter, NBA, That weird Pogo clone, etc? Who knows. Time will tell. Just understand going into this game Niantic has a very poor track record. All in all; I would like to see this game have an actual life built around it. Not dumped in 8 months like the other Niantic titles. It has potential to be a fun catch em all type game but currently its very basic and empty.

Love this game but….. I have had this game for at least 3 months if not more. I am up to 6th gen dots and I find it is a lot of fun! However. This last week it has crashed more times than I can count. My iPhone is utd on iOS sooooo Idk what’s going wrong here! I even deleted other apps in case it needed more gb, but even still it keeps crashing. Also, why ohhh whyyyyy do the nests cost money? You have made more off me than I should’ve spent already so I am probably done with spending for some time as I have 26 dots. I really enjoy the ai interactions etc as well. I think all in all it’s well drawn so to speak- but something’s crazy after the recent bug fix update bc NOW it’s got BUGS or something. Maybe the peridot critters have digital fleas!?

Expensive, Glitchy Bait and Switch. This app could be so much more, but instead of the cute, relaxing, passive AI it’s billed as, it’s a stressful paywall-fronted game that now includes a mechanic that involves “blight” that literally covers the entire map… not unlike the pandemic we’ve just had to deal with. Then you have to battle dots, which, again, was never something included in the mechanics. To hatch dots, people almost exclusively have to purchase nests, save for monthly login rewards and level-up nests, but it essentially amounts to around $5 for each “dot” being hatched. Very often, the app crashes or causes the phone to freeze up, and many report that their phones overheat while using the app. Additionally, the app requires the camera stay on while in use. I award it a few stars for getting me outside and exploring, but given that it’s collecting data the whole time (when the app actually works), and that I’m paying so much for it, it seems hardly worth rewarding them for it.

Fun idea, nests too expensive. I love the idea of this game. It’s super fun to take care of little creatures. I only have one issue, which I have seen many other players complaining about. This is basically pay to win because the nests are 5 dollars each and you need nests to hatch new dots. It only gives you one free which I think is dumb. And, a ton of the traits are locked so the first dot that it lets you hatch free is practically a copy of your original one with a few differences here and there. I think it should let you get a free nest every once in a while so you can hatch more dots without having to pay a boatload of money. I’m deleting this because of this problem and because I don’t want to pay money on a stupid game with a fake pet. Do not download unless you want to pay money!!

Money hungry game, slow, boring. Takes forever to get an adult, just to find out that you have to literally meet up with a stranger to make an egg and you get chopped up into bits. And that you only get the traits that are unlocked which isn’t much of anything, and you HAVE to pay real money for each one aside from the one free nest you get that I won’t use because stranger danger . It’s just not worth my time. Not to mention I can only play this game on my giant iPad as Nothing else is compatible I own. And lugging around this beast is a pain. The game play is so boring and slow not much to really do. I gave up on Pokémon Go because it got too boring after a few months. I couldn’t make it 3 days with this one, it’s a solid pass. Oh did I mention aside from the free bits you get to start off with plan on spending hundreds just to continue any breeding. And don’t get me started on the glitches. And constant crashes. Save your time don’t even download

Love the game but…. i absolutely love this game so much and i play it so much! but my only problem with this game is that i don’t think the eggs should be $5 per egg that’s a bit expensive i’d say it should be $1 each cause this game is a “raise and hatch” type of game and i’d say it’s a bit ridiculous to pay $5 for just one egg that lasts not even a minute. sure the pets take awhile to age and i mean i’m not picky with money especially if i know i will use the money and i won’t regret if i buy something. also with the eggs you should make it so it can be a “daily log-in” award like maybe one every 2-3 weeks or something? i think that sounds reasonable? i would just like the eggs to be cheaper and have an easier way to get them. LOVE THE GAME THOUGH LIKE AHH ITS SO CUTE AND I LOVE HOW ALL THE PETS ARE DIFFERENT LIKE WOAH THATS SO COOOOL!!!!

Amazing potential but paywalled. Theres a pay wall pretty early on in game play. The dots are cute, and the ar is pretty cool. However, it cooks my phone with maybe 5 mins of game play, which is a bummer seeing as i want to be able to actually interact with my dot and use the ar feature. Its cool to see your dot walk with you and interact with the world but that also kills battery. After playing for 10 minutes my battery drained from 95% to 75%. I understand the ar can be a bit of heavy lifting but on a brand new phone with no battery issues this is pretty bad. All to say you really cant be on the app for longer then 4ish minutes until problems start to arise. There isnt much motivation to use this throughout my day when im busy if i know im not going to be by a charger. Its a cool game with a cool concept but the pay wall and battery life issues are real problems. The game is a glorified tech demo, which is a shame because it could be a full fledged game.

Disappointing, but it has so much potential!. I’m not sure why my previous review can’t be found anywhere (I suspect it was deleted), but I wanted to love this game. It has such a cute concept, and I was looking forward to it. However, you can’t play without paying at least $5 per Dot after receiving your one free nest. This is an unsustainable business model, and I don’t see this game lasting if they don’t do something different. I read that the beta model had players scavenge for nest materials. Maybe do something like that again? Even a weekly/monthly free nest would be better than this. The in-game currency could also be used to purchase them. But really? $5 per Dot? I absolutely love my first Dot and I am still going to play until I get my second, but I am not going to pay real money for the main draw of a game that is buggy, overheats my phone within 10 minutes, and drains my battery quickly.

Core mechanic requires constant money. Great game, but the main way you play the game is by breeding and hatching new creatures, and this process requires a nest. Each nest is SINGLE USE AND COSTS $5. I don’t mind paying money in a game, heck -I’ve probably spent a stupid amount of money on Pokémon Go by this point, but at least Pokémon let’s you work to acquire in game items required to play the core mechanic of the game. Even incubators have multiple uses before they break! This game is adorable and a ton of fun, but even as an adult with gainful employment, this is an expensive game. It’s simply not a sustainable game to play without constantly dumping lots of money into it. Until this is resolved, buyer beware. Also, the game is still very buggy, and DRAINS phone battery hard and heats up your phone something fierce, and I’m currently running the latest iPhone, so a workaround is desperately needed soon.

Well, this is sadly disappointing. It’s really sad to have just joined the game and see that the only way to “properly” play is by spending money. Since I cannot afford that, I think I’m content with possibly only having two to engage with, but it’s sad that if I do want more I’ll have to wait a long time in order to buy more nests, etc. I’m disappointed that such a cute and fun game has to have such a broken cost structure. Oh well, guess my lil guy is the only dot I’ll have 🤦‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ not to mention, the only way to find out how this game works, is by reading the posts from players. The tips at the beginning hardly help explain how to hatch, what is needed to hatch, and then you have to find the the free nest in the shop (with no indication it’ll be there while playing). This game has so much potential and I would love to keep playing, but I’d rather buy food than spend money on this game in order to play.

Ideas for more nest! :). The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because you can’t get more nests unless you pay with money, personally I think it would be better if they would add more ways to get nest for example. First, the daily calendar, if you log in for a certain amount of days you can get a nest. Second, quest rewards, maybe every once in awhile you can get a quest that will give you a nest. Third, the trainer cards, after you reach a certain level you can get a nest and the higher level you rate the more nest? Like at level 15 gets you one nest, 25 2 and so on and 3 be the max. Just a few ideas I thought of, but other than that it’s a really cute game and it encourages me to move around a lot more which is very helpful! Beautiful game. <3

It’s a whale’s game. Long story short It was nice for a few days up until I reached a certain point of the game. For the first few hours of gameplay It’s a nice little tech demo of how AR can be utilized in the future and is probably one of the most advanced AR games I have ever played from Niantic. So much so that I could see it easily be played on a device like the Meta Quest Pro. The only downside is that if you REALLY want to actively make progress through the game, you would need to pay $4.99 (USD) every time you want to get different dots which is an ESSENTIAL part of the gameplay. Also not to mention that you would also need to download a additional app called Niantic Campfire so that you can find another person in your local area who also has a dot. So for any curious Pokémon Go players out there, basically it’s nearly the equivalent of having to pay $5 PER TRADE if you wanted to get a Pokémon that you want. I’ve also been hearing from my Beta tester friends that the nests (where you need to pay $4.99) actually USED TO BE FREE and changed this feature last minute a few weeks before the global release. So yeah, it’s a whale’s game now. So if you don’t got the money and don’t want to download the additional Niantic Campfire app, then you’re stuck with what you get.

Developers are petty. So the new free nest update came out unexpectedly. They were supposed to notify us an exact date for the update, and they didn’t. If you are lower than level 25 you don’t get free nests. So anyone who is below level 25 misses out on free nests from the level up rewards. For example you get a free nest when you hit level 5,10, and 15. I hit level 15 yesterday and today when the update hit I got no free nests. So I miss out on 3 free nests now while everyone over level 25 gets all the nests they missed out on. Yea not ok. This seems like the developers saying a big “F you” to everyone who stopped playing the game when they saw that nests were kept behind a pay wall. Nests are a core mechanic to the game, you can’t hatch new Dots without them. Basically the developers are being petty. These developers have always been very greedy and ignore their player base but this is definitely a new low for them, however I’m not surprised.

Cute but pay to play has to go. This game has so much potential! It’s cute, well designed, has an addictive quality to the gameplay, and gives us nostalgia for our tamagotchis. I honestly love it and could see myself playing for a very long time. But I’ve been on it for a bit now and as much as I want to continue, Peridot is becoming unplayable. The biggest issue for me is pay to play style. You can’t make the game’s whole goal so expensive, it just won’t stay sustainable! $5 for every hatch is ridiculous. Even $1 is ridiculous. Payments should be there for extra content in game- not for assets that are necessary to continue playing. Battery drain is real, and turning down the graphics is just not enough. We need an option to turn off our cameras for simple tasks that don’t require an environment. Especially taking into consideration the AR is buggy and we can’t even play in the dark or if we’re sitting in a car as a passenger. The whole interface falls apart! Playability is a huge problem in this game, which is such a shame since there’s so much potential here. I want to keep playing but until these points are addressed it’s just unusable. Try monetizing different aspects of Peridot and listen to your users. If it’s not fixed they will go elsewhere (and already are).

Great game too poor for the hatch feature.. I love this game and it motivated me to take walks which is good. I’ve always struggled with exercise and it’s nice to have a little animal in my phone that motivates me. I just wish the hatch a dot feature was also a free to play aspect. I’m not saying make it easy to reach but I wish it could be attainable for free even if it took a month to get there. Currently I’m unemployed and unable to buy myself nests. Maybe another way to get a nest could be to reach a certain walking distance. That way it motivates people to walk and also making nests more accessible. I don’t know I guess I could just wait to get a job and save some money for it but still I feel like I would regret not sharing this idea. Don’t feel pressured into using it I’m just a big believer in you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take and I’m taking a shot at this game lol.

Pay to win. I love peridot so much, the dots are adorable and it has a nice concept, however the whole thing with this game is that you can breed genetically unique dots unlike any other.. however there is only 1 opportunity for a free nest, and then it costs 5 dollars from there on. I think $5 is an insane price to pay to get something that should already be an in game obtainable feature. Maybe you can create nests that gives your dot a chance of a mutation, but like the nests being $5 is crazy to me. Also sometimes when I try to scan objects it takes like 10 minutes for it to recognize. This one isn’t much of a problem to me, considering it’s probably hard for a game to recognize these things, but if it is fixable that would be great. Other than that it’s a nice game, but like.. the nest prices are.. insane.

The Main Feature is Paywalled. I've been playing for a few days now and I do want to see this game succeed. However, I have a few issues with the management of it. The nests and hatch-a-dot feature are paywalled, if you want to roll the dice and get a new dot once it's full-grown it'll cost money. The game gives you one nest for free and as far as I can tell, that's it. The combination and cross-breeding aspect of this game is the main thing that is advertised, along with the feature collection and archetype wall. There's no way I can see to get past that without spending money, which is a real shame. I would love to be more positive about this game, but at the moment I don't see much heart behind it as much as it feels like a cashgrab. I think the AR technology is interesting, very solid for modern day, and I hope to see it grow and develop, but if the game is pay to play I can't see it maintaining an audience.

MASSIVE PAYWALL! (First review was deleted). This is my second review, as my first one was deleted. So I say again, this game has a massive paywall that is not advertised. The core aspect of the game is to “breed” the creatures and “discover” new traits. However, when in game, everything says all you need to do is use an in game currency to “breed.” It’s not until you actually start the process that it prompts you for an item that you have to pay $5USD for. That $5USD per! Not a one time purchase. Thats FALCE ADVERTISING. So, in order to play the game as intended, you end up paying $5USD EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to use the core aspect of the game. I personally don’t mind that they are charging real currency for the items, but the price is too steep and there is no option to use in game currency to purchase the items. In the end, it IS a cute game and it clearly needs work still. It has potential, but the pay wall needs to go before they lose all of their users. So for now, 1 star until things are fixed.

Core mechanic locked behind paywall. Had a lot of fun raising my first Dot, kept getting told that my Dot would want to breed and hatch it's own Dots. Well then I find out you have to pay $5 to buy a Nest which allows you to breed. And you can fully raise a Dot to adulthood in one day so if you want to keep breeding that's at least $5 a day. You get one free Nest but that's it. Plus there's not much to do with Dots once they reach adulthood except breed them. Also, the game has achievements in which you try to get specific combinations of traits, which you must breed for. Niantic touted that there's 2 trillion billion combinations of Dots, but they all have the exact same body - 4 legs and a weird cat/llama body. The colors, patterns, horns etc are cool though. Just wished there were more than 1 body type. I'll raise my first Dot and the free Hatch but I'm not going to pay a dime for what seems like a core mechanic of this game. Feels like a cash grab or like they wanted to make an NFT game and just pushed this out instead.

It’s Amazing but…why the paywall?. I absolutely love this game and I just started! It’s so cute, the peridots are so expressive and each one is unique! The genetics are so well thought of and I just love the complexity of the breeding. But…I would love it more if I didn’t have to pay to breed..because that’s basically what the game is about. “Raising then breeding.” So why pay to breed? Why not get a free nest after a quest or forge for materials to make a nest? I’ve heard that there was a way to forge for materials to make a nest but then you guys decided to remove it and made a paywall instead. Honestly I think people would love this way more if you went back to what you were doing before. A lot won’t even download if they have to pay for the main part of the game..plus $6 for a nest is very expensive.. but other than that it’s a good pet game!

Cute but one big problem + a few more. I LOVE the idea for this game, breeding simulations are one of my favorite types of games and all of the ideas are great. There are quite a few issues I can overlook such as phasing through things, weird shaking of everything on the screen one time?, and lack of interesting things on the map. My main issue is that there is NO way to get nests which are essential to the game, there NEEDS to be a way to get them without paying or you won’t be able to hook anyone on the game and most people won’t play it after a few days. Also as a suggestion for future ideas I think you could have a non AR location for your creatures that you can decorate and store your dots, (you could make people pay for decorations???) That would add some extra gameplay I feel the game is missing.

A good start. I have all the respect in the world for this development team. 🩵 This is the first game Niantic devs have really been able to make on their own, not based off of someone else’s IP. You can feel the love in it, truly. This recent major update (over a month ago), however, has ground down my patience and love for the game. Progress is slower, and despite their efforts to make Dot interactions more engaging, I feel it has become the opposite. For weeks now I have felt less and less inclined to play. It kind of breaks my heart, because I really loved it and wanted it to succeed. The paywalls haven’t gotten any better. The QOL updates haven’t made things better. I know they are working hard on this project and I so appreciate it. But at this point, it just doesn’t seem like the engaging game it could’ve been. It felt like it was on the right path, but has veered way off it. Hoping for the best ❤️

Fun and cool app! But,. I love this game so much! It’s so fun, and there is lots too do. Although there is a few things about the game I don’t really like, when I first downloaded the game it was fun, but when my dot hatched up to an adult I had no idea how to hatch another dot. I looked for tutorials but those were no help. I eventually figured it out but still, there should be a tutorial set up to show you how to hatch a dot. Another thing is the surfaces, when I was on a lake it showed the water as a “tree”, one of my daily quests was to find kelp, but it wasn’t working, which made me frustrated. Overall it’s a really fun, cool, amazing game/app! It keeps you motivated and, if you don’t or can’t have a pet this is a perfect app for you! 9.5/10!

Enjoy playing but need a way to earn nests!!!!. I truly enjoy playing and raising my dots, and love the mechanics of getting different foods and balls from different types of terrain. For me it makes me want to go out and explore different new areas locally more than PoGo does anymore. There’s no real diver for me in PoGo to do anything more than cruise my normal routes, stops, and gyms. Dots are just more interactive and fun. BUT PLEASE GIVE US A WAY TO EARN NESTS!!!! The whole goal is to bread new different dots! But I’m not paying $5 a shot to bread a new dot!!! Bring back a way of earning nests for free by some sort of game mechanic!!!! It defeats the whole purpose and driver to play the game!!! Also like the idea of adding a non AR mode like PoGo to be able to extend battery life for times we aren’t out and about walking our dots. Maybe a simple non-At mode to feed, play, and teach tricks, and then make nests earn able went walking/exploring in AR mode at habitats or something.

So cute, but too pricy!. I have raised three Dots so far. Each was adorable and figuring out which Dot to breed with which to get certain traits was fun! The AR is fantastic (balls bounce off objects on the floor!), the animations are adorable, but the cost to keep breeding? Far, far too much. I thought at $5 it would be a multi-use nest (like breed several and then breaks, a little like incubators in PoGo), but holy crap is that expensive for a single-use item! If you could find nests and those were single use, that would make sense. But $5 should buy you more than two or three days of gameplay before you need to spend again! It feels like highway robbery! I could spend the money to keep breeding Peridots...or for the price of five peridots, but a new game for my computer (or several if it is Steam Sale). The pricing on this game makes zero sense for long term engagement.

Not free to play. There is no way to get nests other than to pay money. There is no way to continue to progress the game because you can only hatch one dot in addition to the one you get at the beginning. Fun for a few days but then you can no longer make any progress. I didn’t even get one of the archetypes so It isn’t possible to get all of them without spending at least a hundred dollars probably. Very disappointing as I had enjoyed it until I had used up the only free nest. I don’t know if they plan to give out free nests during events or put them on sale ever but if not then it really is just gambling with some fluff tacked on. I’m not even against spending a few dollars here or there in order to progress the game faster but I’d rather spend a hundred dollars on something real and physical than some virtual critters that clip through the ground while I go for walks. Perhaps this will be fixed in the future as the game is still very new but I don’t have much hope about it.

Peridot is cute, but still needs some work. I love this game, and I know theres a lot of bugs, but the game did just come out so thats to be expected. Nests are way to expensive to get especially if you're a minor and broke like me. It would be great if they could add a few nests to the daily login maybe even just very late into the month if they want to make it harder. or maybe a nest as a prize for completing all of your weekly tasks would be nice, maybe they could even randomize it so it would be like a 1 in 4 chance of a nest and maybe a dewdrop or dotnip or something so its still harder. If you read my rating thanks I just think these would be better ways to get nests because its a bit ridiculous to pay $5 every time you want a third or fourth dot.

Almost there…. While I enjoy this app a lot, it’s not a 5 star in my book for a few of reasons. 1) they give no potential for acquiring hatch nests without having to pay. I would think that even a certain level of gaming points/rewards to get free nests would be great, even if it took a while; like, making it to a certain keeper level. 2) i wish i understood the value of the nests at the beginning of learning how to play. This is user/gamer error, but they should encourage gamers to maybe hold off on hatching too many dots before the keeper has leveled up. Just took me a little while to realize i was wasting my hatchlings at a level when the benefits weren’t that great. 3) information on the motivation to tend to adult peridots…like, once they’re adults, these nothing much else to aim for with them and you can’t get ride of them, so i feel like I’m now taking care of a bunch of similar looking pets… 4) soo, for the intense battery consumption and lack of newness to caring for the peridots it’s just not quite at a 5 star. But it definitely has potential as the AR is done really well, the recognition of items and surroundings is really impressive. I would the game out more if i wasn’t so nervous about it eating all of my battery while out and about.

Nest prices/ method of obtaining need to change. The beta for this app allowed players to search for materials to build nests, which was a really fun method that added to the gameplay experience. Now that the game has been officially released, nests are only obtained by purchasing them in the app, minus the 1 free nest youre given at the beginning of the game. Nest prices are issue. Its $5 per nest. And the 1 time available purchase of a $2.99 hatch a dot bundle featuring 1 basket and 2 accessories. Its known that a lot of kids are going to be playing this game, and they will not be able to casually make purchases like adults can. With the biggest attraction of this game being that youre able to mix and create your own dots, the ability to be able to do that is severely limited by the pricing system. Which takes a lot away from the players gameplay experience. A better method that will keep the growth limited but fair, is to offer 1 free basket per amount of levels reached. Every 3-5 levels for example. To keep players engaged in the app by continuing to try and reach higher levels. Or, to Atleast bring the prices down. 1 basket for $1.99 with the purchase limit of 1 every 24 hours. With no bundles available, to prevent over population. Or a subscription offer, $9.99 a month, which offers 5 baskets and 3 accessories monthly. Just some ideas.

Super cute but VERY pay to win. I really love this game, but the fact is everything in the game is super expensive, you can barely play the game to get farther in it without paying for more items and stuff, I just want to play a cute game with little creatures, but mostly you play here and there for maybe like 5-10 minutes or less and then put it down as there is nothing else to do as if you want to get anywhere you have to pay for more items, you can’t do anything else otherwise, I would love to play more but there is nothing to do in the game at all unless you want to breed which likely will cost to get those items, there is not gameplay, I would love if there is more, I will keep playing but I will likely forget this game exists after a while seeing there is just nothing to do especially with the pay wall on items. As much as people enjoyed PokeGo this has nothing compared to it as it really just has no content to it.

Pay to play but otherwise incredible. This is such a cute idea, raising little virtual creatures that don’t get sick or die, as i found it really stressful having virtual pets die. I especially love the variety of Dots in the game, and how many different traits there are. However, the main issue with this adorable virtual pet game is the paywall. It’s understandable why you’d need to utilize micro transactions in a game, and amazing how so much of it is free, but in my opinion it’s a bit much to ask for 5 dollars for a nest, every single time. An idea to fix this would be certain special nests that can be reused once or twice like incubators in Pokémon go. Or maybe being able to buy them with ingame currency, like in the Blightbux event. Thank you for your time, I hope the issue will soon be resolved.

Fun but something needs a fix and quick. It’s a fun game. It really is, the graphics are amazing, playing with the dots are fun, we can teach them tricks, we can feed them foo and play fetch, the tasks get you up to get out of the house and do stuff but one thing upsets me. It’s a collecting game too, you can get more dots, but how am I supposed to do that without being able to get nests? I’m not going to pay five bucks to get one nest. And there’s no way to get nests outside of buying them with real money. So please make more free ways to get nests, like in the daily tasks, or in the log in thing, or finding them randomly. No one’s going to play the game if you can’t get more nests to get more dots. It’ll be come boring over a time span of three-four days when just playing with one already full grown dot.

Need more Free-to-Play Features. The game is an adorable concept, like a grown up tomagotchi, the dots are super cute and it make sense you unlock more traits as you level up, and the breeding system is pretty cool. The issue is you only get one free nest, and then you have to pay $5 for each dot after your second one. There should be more ways for people to earn them through daily logins, or weekly/monthly rewards. Maybe even earn “components” in desire rewards and after collecting 5 you have a full nest you can use to hatch a new dot. Also, having something else to do with your dots would be a nice option. Not a requirement for all players to progress, but maybe do more with the trick systems, like competitions in the habitats or even just make us so they do tricks on demand without being in the feeding mode. Anything to make the game more immersive and more interactive long term. Give us a reason to keep playing. Yes they’re cute but if we can’t 1. Collect them all at a faster pace or 2. Do anything to make the bond with a singular dot more significant, what’s the point in continuing to throw sandwiches and tennis balls around with them? I really want to like this game long term, and it has potential, but Niantic needs to add some features or nobody is going to stay invested and the game will never gain full traction

Fun but could use more. I feel like there should be more to do with your dot as if it were a real pet, like giving it a bath and then drying the fur.. Also I fully understand needing to make money but one nest costing $5 is overpriced.. The whole point of the game is to raise your dot and create new types of dots and raise them, thats so hard to do when you cant get a nest.. I had really high hopes when I saw this game, it reminded me of nintendogs and other animal raising/breeding games but then I realized that after my dot grew up, I was only going to get one more dot due to the fact that I cant afford to spend 5 dollars everytime my dot is fully grown.. I feel like there are a lot of better ways to still make money rather than over pricing a nest.. A lot of other free games make the creators good money without over pricing a key item

Would love except 2 problems. I wanna start with how much I love this game. It gets me to go outside more and I love how cute they are! I see where the creators were going with the theme and hit it on the bullseye. Except, I have a couple big problems. So 1. It drains my battery way to fast! The second I open the app and use it to 5 minutes, I go down 10 percent! I tried turning off tracking but the app said I needed on so I kept it. It is so hard to play this game without my phone dying (outside, in the SUMMER!) If you guys could find a way to fix this I would appreciate it And 2. It costs a lot of money. It is hard to enjoy the game when I want to hatch a nest but it’s 5 DOLLARS! Which is insane. Same with the stray dot packs and accessory packs. Like, I wish there was a way to like earn it instead. For example, for a stray dot pack, you would have to walk a certain amount of meters or forage a certain amount of habitats. That would definitely go with the goal of the game more instead of paying 50 dollars on packs. And with nests, they could do the same as the packs or you could put them in the log in rewards. I am aware that this game only released a couple of months ago. But I still think this is do-able for you guys knowing the fact you made Pokémon go. Thank you for reading

Over glorified and expensive Tamagotchi. Fair warning, this game was developed by Niantic for the sole purpose of collecting your data and selling it to the highest bidder. They have a history of producing buggy software, nerfing popular features, and unfairly banning accounts when users ask for help. They blatantly ignore their most dedicated users and refuse to provide any support. As far as gameplay goes, it's mediocre at best and is very expensive to progress. There is no reasonable 'Free to Play' option with this game. After the initial phase, you will need to purchase a 'nest' for $5 to progress, creating an unavoidable paywall. It also consumes a ton of resources - my iPhone 13 Max heats up after only 10 minutes of play, and after 15 minutes of play, I have to close the game to allow my device to cool down. As a result of being such a resource hog, the performance is choppy and difficult to play. I will continue to play for a little while longer for a proper assessment, but I doubt this will be a keeper for me.

Great Idea, Poor Execution. The game is cute and cool. Hatch a little monster, play with it and feed it, get it to grow up. That’s pretty much it. Then when you want to have more little monsters, you’re stuck paying $5 each time you want a new one. There is absolutely no way to play this game for more than a day or two without paying. Also lots of bugs where your friends won’t load, buddy gets stuck doing something. I’ve had to reboot a few dozen times over a couple hours. Battery drain is insane, AR is constantly on and there’s no way to not play in AR, which kills batteries. And if you accept a friend request in this game from a stranger wanting to breed monsters, Niantic automatically adds them to all other Niantic games as well. Lots of cool ideas, but honestly a lot of this functionality would have been better just being added to PoGo.

Fun! But needs a lot of work.. The idea of this game is super great! A nice tamagotchi spin off with some fun mechanics. But this game will absolutely be dead within a few months if the (pay to use) breeding system isn’t fixed. As someone who has played a plethora of creature based sim games, this is by far the worst one I’ve used. Having to message and wait for a response, that you probably won’t even get, makes ZERO sense. And campfire is too buggy and slow to even began to navigate. In my opinion, it would make far more sense to have a “stud” list of sorts of dots in your area. This could either be an auto accept system or a ping system for the other user. As in they get a notification when someone in your area is requesting to breed. This cuts out the awkward system of sending the user an image of their own dot (like seriously what?) and make the process smoother. A messaging system is way way too ambitious and time consuming for users.

Point of the game is blocked. It’s a cute and fun game but the whole point is blocked by money. The game starts with you picking an egg which hatches into your own Dot. They grow into teens then adults (which is when you can breed them with other dots). The whole point of this game is to breed & explore the genetics of the Dots. You have to have nests to breed the dots to do this but each nest costs $5 (over seas equivalent). The game gives you one free nest at the beginning then every nest after that is $5. There is no way to get these nest otherwise it is the only way to get them. It ruins the game (since the whole point is to help repopulate the endangered species that is the Peridots). You can grow your dot in a few days then you have one more nest before you have to pay. So essentially if you don’t/can’t/won’t pay then you have two dots that are completely grown in a week and can do nothing else. It would be a wonderful game if they fixed this but as of right now there is no point in playing.

Improving!. They have backed down significantly from their pay-to-progress business model. I now feel free to spend my monthly budget for this game on more fun items instead of always having to buy stupid nests. Also the friends list is much more usable. They also fixed having to contact every player when you want to breed your dot with theirs, now you see a dot you like and you can just breed in the spot. There is still a ways yet to go, however. It would be nice if you could hatch from a dot card (you can share your dot’s card to the campfire forums but it doesn’t seem possible to hatch from one). And the game needs more features and activities. And they really need to fix your dot too aggressively being drawn as behind objects. I don’t want my dot to be behind stuff really. I want to see them.

Good but one MAJOR flaw. I began this game the moment I got the email. As a huge fan of Pikmin bloom and Pokémon go from day one, I knew this would be right up my alley. I was right. I love the simplicity and the AR is a step in the right direction. So here is the huge issue I have; the game revolves around making new dots that are unique. You have to PAY $4.99usd per hatch!!! Egregious! This is unacceptable. There is no way to earn nests (other than the first one it give you). To add insult to injury I have discovered that during beta testing the offered a way to find parts to make nests that didn’t cost real money. That was removed. Not cool Niantic. At all. It makes me question if I should delete all three games I play of yours after this disgusting display of greed and locking an entire game behind a paywall. I will wait for the next update but may delete after if this issue isn’t fixed.

Has potential. Game is fairly new and has a fantastic concept. Level up, unlock new styles for your dots, and then try and breed them to get cool new dots. The fact of the matter is that the last step(which is the most exciting/important step) is not available currently unless you spend real money. Now I understand that this game needs ways to make money but it already has other ways in selling cosmetics and unique dots. If one of the most important core steps of the gameplay loop is locked behind paying real money I can’t in good conscience support the game. Imagine pogo having poke balls only available through real money. That would be a complete disaster and it would never have gotten as popular as it is today. If they update the system I will gladly change this review but until then I’m disappointed in the very much greedy practices here.

Pay to Play. The concept is cute. You raise a little creature by checking in on it and interacting with it throughout the day. You can breed for different genes (eventually- you have to unlock them slowly over time or pay for them). But you can’t breed without a bunch of currency called sundrops, and a nest. My biggest thumbs down here is that a nest costs $5. So you have to shell out money to progress at all, and you would have to do so constantly to get to the genes/traits that you want. You’re going to lose players very quickly with all the hefty pay-to-play in this game, because the current game as-is gets boring over time when you can’t progress. Apparently the closed beta allowed you to collect nest parts over time, but this feature got removed. Bring it back. The game has some potential, but definitely some work to do.
