No basketball on commercial break please. You’re gonna burn us out. We need something peaceful and still, with some smooth background music. Then we’ll keep watching longer and more. And with less eye strain. Sound quality is poor on AppleTV and making me sleepy, which i kind of like the lower sound in a way, but the quality is worse than any other app. LOVED how long the post game coverage went on!! Thank you

Pretty Good. All in all it’s a pretty good app but I have two things that I would look to improve. 1. Please make it where you can turn your phone sideways and it will have the video go full screen. I don’t really want to watch the games only on the small screen. 2. And make it where it will save where you leave off whenever you exit a game and come back to continue watching like any other streaming service.

Watching games. On the computer wnba league pass is great but this app is frustrating. Why cant I watch games?? Every time I try to watch it either tells me too many devices which is not true bc i only have the password AND i make sure its not pulled up on my computer or anything else. OR it just stops working and kicks me out. It doesn't save my place either unless im watching through the browser. Whats up with this? No point in having the app on my phone if I cant watch games. And this is not just for live games, this applies to old games im catching up on too.

Wish I could go back to the old version. Loved the old app. Used to use it to check scores from past games and quickly preview what was coming up. The new format is awful. It’s harder to navigate the schedule with scores. I don’t want to have to scroll through an icon for every upcoming game. The cookie policy agreement keeps popping up on the same pages that I’ve already agreed to. Got a ‘don’t miss a play’ pop up that I can’t close unless I enter an email. This app was wonderful when it was a supplement to league pass (which I watch on my computer, not my phone). Now it just feels like an add for league pass (which seems to have fewer live games than ever before with all the blackouts.)

Can't Update App 😡. I went to the WNBA app to watch a preseason game and was told that I need to update the app (I watched it just fine 2 days ago). I clicked on "update WNBA" and then got an error message in the Apple Store: "Cannot connect to App Store." I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it--got the same message, and same results on both iPad and iPhone. What kind of stupidity is this? Once again, the WNBA shoots itself in the foot. DO BETTER. You can do it if you really try!

GET IT. I love all forms of basketball, but especially womens! The app has so much information ans I got the league pass for the first time this yeae. Definitely worth the money! I usually watch from my phone and am able to still text while the game is on. Even if I miss a game all previous full games are available! Will be using the app and League Pass every season from here on out!🔥👏🏾

Lots of opportunities to improve. -it would be great to have a similar feature as yahoo sports when it comes to stats. I love looking at player stats by position for comps, as well as seeing player trends vs opponents, etc. The current stats feature is subpar. -user experience for navigation is 1-2 stars. The home page doesn't provide what I most want and I don't have any control over what I see on the home page. -is there currently only one broadcast team per game or are there two (both teams have their own broadcast teams)? I'd like the option to choose which broadcast I watch/listen to - unless it's nationally-televised and we get whoever from the televised network. -I don't like the Instagram-like stories up top - it's not at all necessary. I'm on this app, not social media. - I don't like the carousel feature of games on the home page. I'd rather see all the games listed right there, along with an easy "watch" button for whichever game I want to tune into. I love the mlb's version of the home page. I see my fave team's info first. -the games vs watch tabs are confusing. Is "games" just a calendar list? -I like the standings tab. Easy to ge what I'm looking for. Nice design.

Application has bugs when multiple games playing or if you lose wi fi connection. Love watching the games on device I phone or I pad when traveling or on holiday. Issues arise when internet wi do disconnects you try to go back to game and the error comes up your watching game on too many devices. It’s like it thinks you already have sessions going even though you don’t you are on the same I phone device. Issues seem to come with with same message when one game is on half time break another game on app has started so I want to start to watch that game so I jump over to that game and I get a message oops I’ve exceeded number of devices. Please fix these issues. Support told me to delete app and restart still issue persists.

Great league, terrible app. Last year, we could watch up to four games on one screen, pretty much everything worked as expected, and even though the W charges your account before you have a chance to redeem your free year as a W season-ticket holder, it’s still a great deal at $25. (OK, the highlights that were shown during commercial breaks were the same highlights every day for weeks and had the volume about half again as loud as the game, with no cut to let you know what you were watching.) This year: one game per screen. Random blackouts for no reason, regardless of where you live and what market that is. Didn’t fix the issue with renewals happening before the STH credit. But they did fix the highlights! The W is a great league to follow and it deserves much better than this.

Worse and worse. I appreciate a reply to my last list of issues with the app. For a canned reply it at least summarized the issues I listed (I guess that means it’s not canned!). But here’s the thing: “we’ll look into making it better” is equally as insulting as the myriad issues”. I say this because putting the app in the hands of even 1 basketball fan to use and test before deciding it’s ready for public would ensure it never was released like this. The latest: after finally navigating to a game I clicked one of the players. While this helpfully took me to some stats for said player, there was no way to return to that box score. The only “back” option returns user to Home Screen. A drunk mule would realize that’s insane and never what a user wants to have to do.

App Permissions (Second Attempt to Post Review) (Updated). EDIT: app also gave bad information, despite having my exact address, on where to watch a game. Missed the entire first quarter trying to get some other app to work, since I couldn't get it where it said. ORIGINAL: Second attempt to get the review through. Review accurate as of August 2023. You can see ON THIS PAGE FOR THIS APP that it has access to your contacts, and that they are linked to you. This is awful, due to all the concerns that women in particular have about stalking, etc, and this is a league by and for women, primarily (though obviously anyone is welcome to watch and enjoy women's sports). I am only bringing this up because the W, in particular, can do better. It's already better about tracking than the men's NBA app, but...really? Collecting contact info is "necessary" for this app? That's insane and absurd.

Ask for help If you are having trouble.. Like others, I had trouble getting this app and season pass working. But the support staff really stuck with me until we figured out the problem. Just go to the contact form on the wnba web site and click on the email for league pass. They are really patience and good to work with. Like others I would like to see the full schedule in the app.

Few Livestreams available. I misunderstood before buying the League Pass. I thought I would get to livestream all or most of the Fever games with the app on my tablet or TV. Sadly found out that few Fever games are live on League Pass. Many are carried on NBAtv, ESPN3, or CBSSN (I don’t have either). Occasionally carried on Ion, Prime, or BallySportsIND (which I do have). Most frequent option has been on Facebook/fever, but I must watch on my tablet, and the feed skips more often than not. Likely just my misunderstanding of what I could get for $25/yr. Won’t renew, and I hope everyone knows what is actually available live on LP.

Annoying cookies notification. The app takes longer than it should to actually navigate because the cookies alert opens every single time you open the app. I would like to see that go away. It is a huge nuisance. It is also disappointing that there is not a teams and roster link on the left navigational panel. I have to go in thru the schedule, find a team, click on it to find their roster. It should be way easier.

WNBA APP. I recommend this APP to all WNBA lovers and sports lovers overall! This App has improved each season! I would not want to be without it! Now that I live in Louisiana where there’s no WNBA team close, I have to enjoy the games on TV or through the League Pass! Thanks to the team responsible for making this available and improving it each season!

What has happened to the app. Why does cookie policy pop up happen numerous times when in the app? I have accepted numerous times just tonight. Why does wnba league pass default to purchase it when I am subscriber? And it's the first major thing on app. New version is so confusing. No easy team rosters. Trying to find what games and where being aired is ridiculously hard to figure out. Seriously is the WNBA testing this app before rolling it out? Last season's version was marginally more functional but at least it looked good. Every time I use the app leads to frustration. Call me for help because it doesn't appear anyone else is giving productive feedback to the developers.

Mediocre. Since you’re unable to customize the app to focus on your favorite team, each team in the WNBA still tries to put out their own app. Business failure on the WNBAs part there. Some app design anti-patterns that are hostile to users, with the latest being the app throws an alert when opened that an update is available with no option to ignore. I just want to find out what time the game is tonight but you want me to redownload the app at this very moment.

If you want to cut the cord, don’t get WNBA league pass. I had purchased the WNBA league pass with the idea that I could watch the whole season, and the playoffs. I have cut the cord, from cable and satellite TV providers. This makes the league pass almost useless. Regular season games are hit and miss, depending on what network the game is playing on. The playoffs, are on the ESPN net work, and are part of the blackouts if you don’t have cable or satellite. This is not mentioned in the blackout definition, provided by the WNBA league pass. I would not waste your money on this app. One star, only because you can’t send a review without putting up at least one star.

Needs more improvement. I love the WNBA and want to support them as much as possible. I was excited to see that I can sign up and watch my favorite team play since I don’t live in the area. However, it is so frustrating to be watching the game and it either freezes, poor resolution, or repeats itself over and over the same frames about four to six times before it moves on. Yes, I also had the same problem stating that I don’t have a subscription, yet, I have to sign in again to start all over. Please Developer, work on this app to make it better so we can enjoy watching our favorite players and teams.

Love WNBA, hate this app. I have the app and the paid league pass and yet somehow, I can never watch the games I want to watch. Very very few games are available on the league pass subscription which is really unfortunate. Subscribers are clearly fans who want to support the league and players but basically any game that’s on tv (the good match-ups) cannot be accessed on the app. The schedule on app is difficult to read and all “watch now” links are broken and just take you back to the homepage. Please put some effort into this service. The wnba and their fans deserve much better

Terrible. I really want to like this app, but it crashes to much for me. And when I go to log in it says I need to check my email and password and try again like I don’t know my own information or something. They end up fixing the app and then maybe a week or two afterwards the app is back doing the same things before the fix. One minute the app is working just fine then boom the app isn’t working properly. The trouble I’ve been having is the games not having the play option and the watch menu having shoot! Refresh or check back later. And the video cutting off when I’m watching a game saying I have to many devices streaming. This app is very frustrating at times, other than those problems I would give this app a 3 star.

Let me Hide the Score!. This is an ok app but the thing that annoys me to no end is that you cannot hide the score for previously blacked out games. There are annoying game blackouts, I get it (but having League Pass should make those games available live), but I do watch them when they are available later only the app ruins those games by posting the scores in a place where you will see them prominently when you click on the game. Honestly I’ve skipped watching these games when I’m not fast enough to cover the area where the score will be displayed. There’s no other word for that then “ stupid”. The app is a huge spoiler if you want to watch previously blacked out games. That seriously annoys me. Seems like there’s a simple fix, add an option in preferences to hide scores for “run it back “ games. Or hide the game stats by default and add a scroll button on each game to show stats by your own choosing. Do it now, go!

Airplay implementation is terrible. This app is terrible, specifically the implementation of AirPlay. You must keep the WNBA app in the foreground at all times. If you switch to another app on your phone (iPhone in my case) it stops playing. Same if you have your phone set to auto-lock. Once your screen locks, the game stops playing. I have used Airplay extensively with the Mountain West app and it does not have these issues so I believe this is a faulty implementation as opposed to some issue with my phone or TV (Samsung).

Making it Worse. Worst update ever. With the old app, you could easily find out all games being played on any given date. This one only cares about League Pass games. Say you want to look at a full roster for you favorite team. This piece of trash will show their names in a disjointed style with no info (school, position, years played, etc). Say you want to find out the latest transactions. This time of year, that’s really important. Not to the dummies who updated this app. I did see one improvement. The box scores now show the total points in the far right column which makes it easier to find than I the old app. But seriously, can we find someone who actually cares about the league to handle the IT part?

League Pass. This review is more about the WNBA League Pass than the app itself. Although it’s great that WNBA has a lot of games that are nationally televised, it’s a real downer that those games cannot be watched with WNBA League Pass. Today there are two games on CBS Sports Net, which means that they cannot be watched live using the app with WNBA League Pass. (And CBS Sports Net is not available on Paramount Plus.) So the app and WNBA League Pass are good, but there are major issues for cord cutters.

Great product, less than great app. I would love to give 5 stars, because I love the WNBA. The games are great, and the price of league pass is more than reasonable. However, I consistently have issues with the phone app that I don't have when using the wnba's website or smart tv apps, such as videos cutting out multiple times when trying to watch a game and the app not remembering where I left off in a game if I pause and come back. One good thing about how often every WNBA broadcast mentioned the "brand new app by Deloitte" (especially early this season) is that it's clear which company is to blame for making an app that doesn't come close to matching the quality of the product it's showcasing.

User intuitive/easy accessibility. The new update of the app needs to be more intuitive and user friendly. If there’s a tab on the bottom that says “Schedule”, I’m would assume that if I tap it, it will show me the schedule for all WNBA games, not just the games that will be aired on the WNBA app with a league pass. I don’t want to be tapping 5 different buttons and waiting for a website to load in the app in order to see what games there are each day. If this is how it’s going to be, I might as well just delete this app and use the internet. It would be much more direct/useful and waste less of my time.

A subpar product somehow made worse with more investment $$. I don't know how you managed it but every version of the "new and improved" app this season is even worse than the always crashing former app, after the league got that $75 million investment, how'd you make an app this bad? It feels like it's an incredible rush job that went through zero UI and UX testing (hire researchers to help you PLEASE), the functionality of the homepage is wild. Click the schedule button at the bottom? You'll only see the games available on the app, click the schedule button in the menu on the sidebar? You get sent to the website that bugs out with continual cookies permissions and random menu openings. Want to check on how your team is doing? You'll have better luck finding them on their own app or just visiting the W site on your own because that's all this app will bring you too WITH NO WAY TO NAVIGATE A STEP BACKWARDS. All in all, this is a phenomenal waste of space of an app and I can't believe I'm saying that previous buggy versions were better but like....dang.

Horrible…. The playback on this app is simply horrible. After just a few minutes the video freezes and freezes and freezes again making it unwatchable. No it is not my ISP speed. I get around 900 Mbps down. I even confirmed this speed as the video was freezing and loading and freezing and loading. It is not my Internet connection or the speed I get from my ISP. If this issue is not acknowledged and addressed soon, I’m canceling my WNBA League Pass subscription. I have no choice.

This is a clunky and hard-to-use piece of work. There are so many problems with this app redesign that it’s hard to know where to begin. The main issue is that the app won’t even show you the full list of games on the schedule tab. You wouldn’t even know if your team is playing if you relied on the app schedule. I generally get the day’s FULL schedule from the ESPN fantasy app, of all places. But beyond that glaring problem, the user experience is so clunky and hard to navigate that it’s embarrassing, especially on Apple TV. - Want to see the scores from yesterday? Good luck with that. - Want to watch recent games? Go hunt for them in the Run It Back or Teams sections, they aren’t well labeled - Don’t understand what the Commissioner’s Cup is about? The app is not really going to break it down for you (it’s hard to even tell which games are cup games until the replay is posted, because the UX is so bad) - Want to see your favorite teams highlighted in the app? You can’t - Want to see dates in times in local format? Too bad, you’re getting the euro-style dd/mm/yyyy 24-hour time format - And on and on… I love the WNBA but this app is just a mess and an embarrassment. Please improve it, because last year’s app was so much better despite its flaws.

Ridiculous!. And how did the default placement for the subtitles turn out to be directly on top of, completely covering the score,time, timeouts, fouls, the entire on screen scoreboard. Asleep at switch to the max. Site significantly worse overnite. Replays not even listed as such. Finally found some out of order under “Popular Videos”. Back in the less funky yesterday, replays listed but very slow to come, unlike previous years when almost always available within a few minutes of end of game. Now not even same day, maybe not at all? Worse and worse. Two schedule prompts lead to two different pages. The “Watch” prompt on one schedule page which appears after game finished yields an invitation for a free trial and other pages and not the game replay. Terrible, maybe worst performing supposedly sincere site. I had issues with last year’s app, but please, give it back. It represents a massive upgrade from this year’s, and surely you have it lying around. Give it back, take the travesty that is this year’s version and fix it or forget it. PLEASE. Such a frustrating waste of time and energy. I tried to rate it “no stars.” It wouldn’t let me, but I mean No Stars!

2022 update is terrible. Previous versions of this app allowed you to look up the WNBA schedule, roster, and read articles about the latest happenings. It’s most recent update is center on the League Pass, which is fine, except it makes finding the information you want difficult. The schedule button only allows you to see scheduled streaming games. You have to click in multiple places to find the whole schedule. Streaming games is not as straightforward as previous app versions. Everything seems slow to load, requires you to accept cookies multiple times, and is not user friendly. I hope there is a new version soon!

Love the WNBA & Want to Love The App. My biggest thing, as someone who uses this almost exclusively to watch games *after* they’ve aired… is why did y’all remove the “Hide Scores” feature? Were people accidentally turning it on and then complaining the app wasn’t showing them scores? Did it glitch or something? It was *so* nice to be able to watch games from the previous night and feel all the suspense, because the final score wasn’t right there in front of me. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for your work, and please keep goin!

Not optimized for iPads. Please test your app on an iPad, especially in landscape. Many of the UI elements are the wrong size/shape and sometimes containers cause images to stretch oddly. Scrolling carousels are the wrong size, taking up the full width of the screen leaving tons of empty space. This app is optimized for iPhones, but since you stream games, the experience should be polished for iPads. Also, please either decide to support Dark Mode or not. Currently it’s a non dynamic theme that is a mix of super black and blinding white. If you don’t have the resources to support dynamic theming, choose one, and make it consistent.

This new version stinks! 🤬. I have been a league pass subscriber for years and out of all of my time support the W through the app, this update has to be my least favorite. It is terrible. There are so many technicalities and bugs wrong with this app. For one, they changed all the features and functions, and made it even more complicated to use the app. You can no longer keep up with the game or if you try to check the stats, it skips and jump all over the place. Not just that, but the navigation is not the same. You can no longer view games by the schedule or search previous games by the dates. Not just that, but when you are able to view previous games, it no longer shows you the play-by-play, game summary, game totals, stats, etc. They literally took an app that was functional and messed it up. It is worse than whatever minor issues it previously had. It’s almost like they tried to do too much or incorporate too much innovation to the app. It is just horrible. The developers turned something I loved into something I despise. If this is what the price increase was for/about then I am not impressed nor satisfied. If you’re going to raise the price then at least provide me with an app that is accessible and functional for me to stream the games. I am BEYOND disappointed. This is just TERRIBLE‼️‼️‼️

Poor development. If I pay for wnba league pass I should be able to watch all the games right from my app… I shouldn’t have to be subscribed to prime, Twitter, cbsn, etc. when I try to reset my password I receive the link via email but when I click the reset I keep getting “page failed”. The app 9/10 times gives the error “ something went wrong”. This app needs a new developer and enhancements to meet the needs of their stockholders.

Really Clunky. The previous issue of missing games appears to have been solved, although the presentation of on-demand games is poor. More problematic now is that playback on Apple TV is extremely clunky. Rather than using Apple's built-in video controls, the developers have chosen to build their own, which are far, far worse. In most apps you can hit the left arrow to jump back. Not here. You have to go into a submenu and select 30-second skip (which nobody wants by the way, this should be 7 or 10), each and every time. It's apparent the developers have not used a high quality Apple TV app as this is far from it.

Pretty good but there is an issue. 5 stars for the WNBA 5 stars for league pass which is SO CHEAP it doesn’t even matter that there’s blackout dates. (But be warned that there are.) You can watch league pass on a computer/any device. You can watch and re-watch old games as much as you want, even blackout games. I love making clips and it’s very easy to do that with streaming games. 3-4 stars for the app: I love the info about players/teams/news and ability to watch prior games. HOWEVER there is a majorly annoying issue where the app forgets that you have league pass. You have to log out and back in for it to remember. This tends to happen to me when changing wireless networks. I have always been able to log back in and watch games, but at first it looks like it lost your subscription because you are logged in and it says you don’t have league pass. Pretty sure one of my friends became discouraged the first time this happened and never watched another game! That’s really bad news for getting new WNBA fans! Please fix this!!!!

Apps keeps crashing. Last year when I first stumbled upon this app I was super excited and have a wonderful experience. This year though I’m having major issues. It’s constantly crashing and logging me out and telling me to recheck my subscription! Super annoying when you’re into a game and then it kicks you out. It does it on my phone, computer and Roku. I’d love the option though not to have game scores shown when you first open the app and even an option when you click the game of choice that it doesn’t go straight to live and ruin the score, instead start from the beginning of the game.

A suggestion:. I love the concept of the app, but I just feel like it can be easier to use. I purchased a League Pass and it has been the easiest way for me to watch the games so far, but everything else is so complicated and weird to use. I just wish there was a way to view all of the teams rosters and player bios through the app. I think it would be helpful for viewers to learn more about the players and help them build their image. It could kind of be where you can see the matchups and stats while watching the game. I love playing the game of basketball and learning about the players in the W is so inspiring to me.

No Chromecast Option?. Hi! Love the app and updates in general but suddenly the new version of the app doesn’t allow the option to use chromecast. I know other users having the same issue. Will this be resolved? Also, I’m unable to rotate my phone to have the view change into landscape mode (despite not having my rotation feature locked). Hoping these two things get fixed 🙏

Game time notifications and league improvements. The app is aesthetically pleasing and functions well. Not many glitches and I LOVE the score tracking feature on your Lock Screen. However, I would love to turn on live game time notifications so I can be prompted to when games start or like when the second half starts; things like that so I can know when to tune into the game. Sometimes I forget there’s a game on and then miss it completely so this feature would definitely add to the experience. I’d love to be able to turn on specific notifications for my favorite team to hear news and happenings surrounding the team as well. Also adding to other reviews and this is more for the league, not the app, but allowing more games to be streamed directly through league pass as opposed to through other channels or webpages. Make it easier for fans to tune in and viewership will increase.

Update 👎. I really enjoyed the 2021 season app but this update stinks. - the app is not easy to navigate; many options (like a league schedule) link to outside websites which are slow to load if not on Wi-Fi - there was a tab on the old app that allowed me to see the schedule of games (both streamed and not streamed); I was able to open the app each day and see who was playing and on what channel I could find the game. If the game was on a channel that I was not subscribed to, I could follow the game cast and see box scores. I would love to have that back. - the new app has made it difficult to follow teams and watch games - I have already missed a couple matchups I would like to have seen

The App is so Janky. The app kicks me out of the game after 6mins or so saying I’ve reached my limit and I need to subscribe to league pass to continue. Well…I’VE ALREADY PAID FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION! And I can’t even watch anything on my firestick, because it doesn’t recognize that I’m subscribed. At least on my iPhone I select “subscribe” and it prompts me that I’m already subscribed (obviously) so I can enjoy another 6mins before I’m kicked out again. I want a refund because WTW is this? All I want to do is happily watch my Gamecock Girlies and BG…but the app won’t let me be great.

I’m confused.... So I am looking into WNBA league pass because my favorite college players were just drafted, but I am running into a few issues. First off, the app says that WNBA league pass is not available in my area, even though I live in New York. Then, when I click on my location, instead of asking me to use my location, it just spins around for a long time then says unable to locate. Wouldn’t it just be easier to just have the app ask me if it can use my location and work from there? I knew I lived in a small town, but I didn’t think it was that small, especially since no other app for mlb and nba has trouble identifying it. Now how am I suppose to watch the Indiana fever and Seattle storm games this season?

I love the WNBA, hate league pass. Update 6-5-22: Great news, League Pass is finally available on FireStick!!! But now you can’t even access the app because it’s too slow or won’t even pull up the schedule or scores. It’s not my browser or on my end. I LOVE the WNBA and watch every single game when available. But they have got to make this more accessible and market the teams and players or the league will fail. Update after developer response- STILL frustrated that the app isn’t available on fire stick!!! I have reached out and was told it’s my browser and cookies. It’s not, I’ve tried everything. So many issues with league pass crashing and it’s not my browse or computer. I can’t stand that the app isn’t available for Firestick, make it more accessible!!

The best app ever. This is literally the best app ever and it is amazing how u can watch old games as well as new games. The league pass is very cheap and is 100% supporting the WNBA. I watch tons of games new and old all of the time and I believe that anyone who likes the WNBA should get it. It has all games on it and you can watch games that weren’t on a channel you get. There are no commercials for most of the games unless you go back to very old games. There are occasional glitches but they do not bother me at all. And you can even watch the games of your favorite players who are retired such as Lindsay Whalen, Rebekah Brunson, and Penny Taylor. I love this app so much and it is the best way to watch WNBA basketball because we all know how major sports companies don’t play women’s sports as often as they should. The WNBA app also has different videos and news about the latest WNBA stuff and really helps you stay in the know of the players and teams. There were so many helpful tools for when I first started getting into WNBA basketball like going into settings and it showing you all of the teams so you can learn their names along with it showing all of the players and their names in alphabetical order.

Local Blackouts. It continues to amaze and anger me that games In Atlanta (about 4 hrs away) are blacked out in Knoxville. The screen says to check local listings to see where the game is being shown. It is not on Xfinity here, even though it is listed on the Guide as being on the NBAtv channel. Somehow between NBAtv, the WNBA, and Xfinity I should be able to view the telecast. I pay mucho bucks to both the cable folks and the League to get to see as many games as possible and my enthusiasm for the sport wanes every time I expect to be able to see a game only to find it’s not available “due to contract restrictions.” If you expect the League to grow, find a way to make telecasts available to those of us who don’t live in the same city as the team.

Not sure it’s worth subscribing to anymore. Last season was the best experience I had with the app, and I’ve been a subscriber for several years. It appeared this year would be even better with the big update, but it’s not. Few games are available to watch live, and the ones that are feature less exciting matchups. So when I go back to watch games after they’re already finished, it’s become more difficult to control what I want to see. Typically, I’ll watch one half of a game and try to return to watch the other half at a later time. Since the app won’t let you resume from where you left off, you have to scroll ahead and find it yourself. Doing so isn’t a smooth process, however, and takes a while. I’ve had to close the app multiple times as well when it freezes on me. Since I can view games with less difficulty elsewhere after they’ve already been played, I’m thinking it might be time to unsubscribe. One good thing about it is the picture quality is good more consistently than it’s been in the past.

Needs some work to make it great. The app logs me out while using , sometimes in the middle of watching a game. Pop-up says I’ve logged into a different device, though I have not, nor have I shared my account password. App lets me log back in immediately, but it’s frustrating to say the least. Also, video scrubbing is really bad. It jumps around and it’s impossible to rewind just a few seconds. Love the access and price! (hate the blackouts, especially when the only Dallas channel, BSSW, isn’t offered in most cable/streaming plans. But that’s not there app’s fault.)

Not usable. Right now for me I am unable to watch any past game. The app just cycles me between signing in to my leaguepass and start free trial. Sooo frustrating. I also cannot find how to suppress scores, so given I watch from Australia, usually on delay, I don’t want the outcome to spoil me watching the game.

Keeps crashing!. We love the WNBA and have used it over the past few seasons. However it has been sooo disappointing this year. It constantly crashes, especially when casting. It becomes almost unbearable to watch. PLEASE fix it!! It would also be great if the scores could be hidden. When watching games later, it spoils it by knowing the result.

Love the W but hate the app. Last year during playoffs I was so stoked to use the app for all my steaming but this year it’s a whole other story. Firstly, not being able to hide the scores surely is UX 101 for a sports app. My app keeps crashing. The landing page is so confusing it took me about 10 goes to find out where to even watch the last game. When I click through to some pages I land in a page within a page which then crashes and I end up back at the homepage again. It was impossible to figure out that my league pass has expired, and then when I did figure that out it was so hard to resubscribe on the app I ended up just doing it on my computer. There are just so many problems with this app, it’s poorly made, seemingly without any specific UX considerations about who the user is and what they need. Hire proper designers not just some off the shelf product that you’ve hacked. I would have given up but for my love of the WNBA. Do better.

Keeps logging me off every few minutes. I love getting the WNBA app each year and I have no troubles with this one except when I'm watching the Live Access games the app decides to log me off every couple of minutes hence stopping the coverage. To combat this I have to sign back in as quickly as possible then click back on the watch live button to resume watching the game. How frustrating! I then went to the in app help section to submit an email of my problem and I got a postmaster failure (the email bounced) So I hope someone on here sees my problem and hopefully it will be fixed in the next update. Otherwise great app. Keeps me up to date with everything WNBA which is great as I live in Australia. Thanks.

Disappointing update for the 2022 season. Love the WNBA and keen for the 2022 season. Latest app update is a disappointment though. It just boots almost everything (scores, schedule, stats, standings) to a web wrapper, complete with cookie requests and pop-ups. No info in app. If you’re going to do that, just move me to a browser.

Games are great...app doesn’t stack up. App keeps logging me out, then when you get to a game and press to watch it asks you to ‘associate an account’ even when I’m logged in. It may or may not let me access a game. Clear they don’t invest as much in the women’s app platform as the men’s. Disappointing.

Hide the scores!. No one wants to watch replays of basketball when they already know the score! Fix this please. Otherwise this app is pretty good and the live pass is excellent value.

Immensely frustrating. As a long time NBA fan far too late turned onto the awesomeness of the W I have to say this app does the Women a disservice by being far below the basic functionality we can expect from a sports app in 2022. While the basic functionality to present games is fine, the main reason to watch the games in an app rather than on TV is if you can’t see the games in real time, and the main job of the app is to allow you to get home from work and log on to watch the game without spoilers. The NBA app has a setting that allows you to hide scores and overall does a good job allowing you to watch a game that has already happened without knowing who won. Tonight for example, in a crucial game 5 winner take all semi between the Sky and the Sun, I dutifully quit the app and try and navigate back to the Archive without seeing spoilers on the front page. The game doesn’t show up there, only game 4! But then when I go to the front page to watch I get upcoming content from the winner, and a link to the game that does exist in the app, just not where it should be. This isn’t rocket science. Also, when you try and watch the well edited condensed games / extended highlights, the font is too small to read and so on the iPad you have to click on an icon to find out what it is. Please either license the NBA app for parity or invest in an interface designer the games deserve better!

They app is cheap but is poorly designed. We love watching the WNBA we hate the WNBA app though, it is cheap to subscribe and the app clearly cheaply designed and made. 1. Biggest and stupidest issue you can turn the scores off so as not to spoiled the results but the first page you are taken to has the result of one of the games…. Like really way to wreck games for people and demonstrate stupid design. 2. It crashes…. All the time!!! Sometimes you can’t even get games to load with out it crashing 5 or 6 times. It crashes during games and then you have to try and get back to where you were. 3. This year there is this new thing were you can’t watch every game live….how did we find this out when we went to watch a game live and a notification came up to say due to broadcasting rights we need to wait 3 hours after game finish. You don’t know which games this affects cause they don’t tell you then you have to hope like hell that the idiots don’t put the result of the game on the Home Screen and wreck it for you after you have waited the 3 hours. Honestly we love the WNBA and would happily pay more to support them for a functional app that doesn’t actually give away the scores!

Update wnba app 2022. I had a league pass last year and everything worked without a hitch. I have just downloaded the updated app and nothing will stream from my phone to TV and the help pages are not helping. Clearly there is some new technology this year and some indication of what was required before purchasing a seasons pass would have been the polite thing to do. No idea how I am to get it to work - this is very frustrating

Disappointed. I normally love getting up to date about the wnba leaving so far away, but this year I am disappointed with the app- where's the box score, player statistics ect.. Oh and my family brought the live access but we can't watch till 48 hours after the game has been played how stupid and pointless- please fix it and the way in which we see the statistics of the game.

Hide Scores & Smart TV app. This app has many useful options. For this app in particular with all the game blackouts where my only option is to watch the WNBA league pass AFTER the conclusion of the game. Scores need to be hidden. Also, after many years there’s still no Smart TV (e.g.: Samsung Smart TV) app. It sure would be convenient. Thanks for your efforts. Edit: and it would be VERY helpful if when one clicks on the “BROWSE” button in the app (or the Archive button when on the website) that there was an option to click on a year ( e.g.: 2022) and have the whole year’s games pop out as a 4 x (whatever) grid. This single row and scrolling, scrolling to the right to get to the beginning of the year is painful! It’s seriously taken me several minutes to scroll to the first archived game of 2022 which was played on 5/6/2022. Augh.

Can’t cancel free trial. There is no way to cancel a free sub. It’s not in my subscriptions on iOS. I never received an email that I had even subbed to a free trial. I had to create an account but the account info on the app doesn’t have anywhere to cancel the trial, (it doesn’t have ANYTHING in it whatsoever. even tho the instructions ON THE APP tell me to go to my ‘account’ to cancel, there’s nowhere to cancel. Nowhere. I emailed their support to find out how to cancel this stupid thing. Hate these types of scams.

Terrible Navigation. Why does your app navigate as if it’s a webpage? Please take notes from every sports league in North America and their App layout. You should have bottom of screen navigation for “Home/News, Games/Scores, Highlights, Standings, More”. You should never open a sports app and need to navigate an option menu for “Scores”.

2023 updates lost chromecast functionality. Please bring back the chromecast function. I literally bought a chromecast for watching the wnba and then your updates took it away. I raised this issue with tech support months ago and it has not been fixed.

Can’t hide scores. I live overseas so can’t watch live. I used to be able to hide scores in this app, but not with this new update. There has been more focus made on the look of the app than the functionality. Did developers not consult basketball fans when redesigning? I hope a redesign is in process for next year, and I hope it is lead by user feedback.

Terrible update. For some reason the latest update moved nearly everything you’d want to check the app for out of the app itself? Want to see the full schedule of games for the night? Check the standings? Stats? Well now you’re just going to be redirected to the wnba website and have to wait a while for it to load. Just put it all back in the app! What were you thinking??

The “New” App is horrible!. It was way better last season. It doesn’t show wall the games. Just the one on league pass. You have to really look for the actual whole schedule. When you try and watch the games it says content is unavailable. Your paying for a subscription and you can’t actually watch anything

Awkward new interface. The new version of the app is badly laid out. I realize it’s trying to focus on the league pass but I use the app for all my WNBA needs. It’s not intuitive where the schedule of all games, players, news, anything besides the exact games playing on the league pass is located. How am I to know where to watch the other games on other channels as a good fan should? Make it easy for us support the W.

Used to be great, now, not so much. I’ve had this app since it first came out. I used to love it. Now it frustrates the crap out of me. Freezes, re-starts, freezes again, kicks me out at haft-time. Change of complaint: now I just got kicked off in the middle of the first quarter, after it froze, played a few seconds, then froze again. Repeat. WOW. And please stop the broadcasters from constantly saying you can watch ALL the games live on this app. It’s a lie.

Horizontal viewing of videos is not possible.. Horizontal viewing the videos is not possible especially with league Pass. This is insane. Sometimes you want to watch a video horizontally, sometimes you wanna watch it vertically. Please have the phone rotate like every other application in the App Store. Very disappointing. Fan of the sport, now of the app. Just downloaded the app, great reel section, awesome live game streaming, great this app really embraces the WNBA as something that should be more popular than it is. Highly recommend especially if you’re new to the league

Extremely disappointed. I’ve used the WNBA app for many years. The changes for this 2022 season don’t seem like an improvement. Pages seem cluttered. Much preferred last years formats. I have to accept the cookie policy EVERY time I change screens. Just not pleasant to use.

Streaming/Cast to TV. Where is the option to cast games to my tv? Typically when I have used this app before I was able to cast games/video content to my tv from my iphone. but now I don’t see that option, and I’m not trying to watch games on my phone. Please help ASAP

Glitch. Attempting to view my league pass subscription in the app and receive and error “to manage your subscriptions please visit the undefined website” Also, would probably be helpful to have a support email to send these types of things to, instead of posting as a review ;-)

The app no longer has a chromecast icon from iPhone. I no longer get a chromecast icon from my iPhone or iPad. This always worked in previous years. Also airplay only works intermittently with this app. I would give it zero stars is I could. Please don’t respond with update to the latest version because that is what I am on.

Keep old season. I think it would be a good idea to keep season 2023 on the app until the new season starts so people will have something to watch in the meantime

Disappointed. Too many blackout games. I would think the WNBA would want to encourage fans to pay to watch however they can to see the games, team(s), player(s), they want to follow. For what I purchased, I’m dissatisfied... I would love to see all the games and follow the players I enjoy but I cannot afford to pay for several services in order to do so.

A bargain, despite annoying audio issue. Can’t beat the price. Given the cost, any annoyances are a small price to pay. That said, there tends to be a significant disparity in volume between the game broadcasts and the streaming highlights played during commercial breaks. Those highlights are significantly louder, which tends to be pretty jarring.

Everything but notifications. Great app. Love the layout and content. Wish it had more notifications. I only get notifications when a game starts. I also have the NBA app at I get tons of notifications from that app. Very unequal amount of notifications. Disappointing the lack of equity.

Bad update. Loved the previous version. Could look up team rosters, see the players, what college they played at, etc. New version stinks. No current articles or news. Can they fix the cookie notice? Pops up constantly. Big thumbs down for new version. Go back to old version and make new app for League Pass. Not helping grow fan base with this version.

Hardly any games. I understand local rights and won’t be able to watch Liberty basketball unless I have the Yes network. But CBS Sports Network, a tier 4 cable network, is also causing blackout issues?!!! This leaves only about 25% of games accessible via the app and as the consumer frustrated by the flawed advertising. As a league supporter seeking basketball content in the summer I can’t be an evangelist anymore. Do better.

Bad update. First time writing a review, but I had to cause the rebrand/update for this app so bad. I don’t understand why it’s basically become a video app and anytime I want some actual information it opens a webpage (that is constantly asking to store cookies). When I click on a game, I don’t want the video to auto play, sometimes I would just like to see the scores and then make the choice to watch. When I click on a team, I’d like to see actual info about the team, who the players are, stats, etc and not just more videos. The previous app needed improvements but at least it was an app and not just a glorified web portal.

Chromecast. Is there a reason why you would remove an option for watching a game? How does this help increase viewership? For me, and it’s clear many others, this is the way I am able to watch the games. My phone screen is too small and I can’t use AirPlay. Can someone from the development team please let everyone who is asking this same question know why you made this decision?

Horrible. This app is horrible - impossible to navigate and no way to hide the scores. Keeps asking me to log in. Not sure what is going on- never had problems before the re-design. I can’t even pull up the game from yesterday to watch. - please fix what is going on

Barely usable. The updates, including to the Apple TV app, have made my subscription essentially unusable. Live games missing or won’t play. On demand games missing or won’t play. It is unacceptable to tell us that improvements are coming throughout the season when the season is now well underway and this is a paid service. This needs immediate and substantial attention. (And why is the iPad app still horizontal only? That’s just user-hostile.)

Great experience. This new app version / upgrade is a huge experience upgrade for fans. Whoever did this killed it - I’m so impressed with the user experience.

Solid App. Overall a good sports app. Love being able watch old games. Only problem is that old games seem to be in absolutely no order whatsoever, the only option to sort is by year. Easy fix for an overall good app for all things WNBA.

No hide score option?. It seems we’re no longer able to hide scores in past games. I usually watch several games in a row catching up for the week on certain players or teams. Now I log onto the app, see scores then immediately leave to look up stats and highlights somewhere else.

Worse redesign ever. I have used the app for years and this year’s version is terrible. If you want League Pass, it may be fine, but for finding information on the players, the teams, recent news it is really difficult to use. “Burn it all Down” the best feminist sports cast recently burned the app on its burn pile. Made me sad because I try not to be negative about the WNBA, but I agree and find the app almost unusable.

Best app EVER. If you don’t like WNBA, you haven’t been watching. Super low season ticket TV package and I get to see some of my favorites play the whole season. Great app and is technologically sound!!

Just needs a redesign. This app will go along way if you guys take notes on how the nba app is structured. We need to be able to see a playoff bracket during the playoffs. Also the option to find the scores shouldn’t be hidden it should be right there in the front. Just my best advice. This app makes you work to find things lol

Get rid of blackouts. Probably would be a five if it wasn’t for blackouts. It should definitely be looked at. I live in Iowa and I am unable to watch Chicago, Indiana, and Minnesota games. I don’t get any local channels in those cities here so I just can’t watch them unless the games are on CBS, ion or ESPN. This is so frustrating because I am a Sky fan and I want to watch all the games that’s why I paid for League Pass.

WNBA League Pass. Trying to watch the Atlanta vs Seattle game tonight. I have a league pass subscription, but unable to watch even though one the WNBA app it says to watch through league pass. Come on! Get you stuff together please. Why should I bother paying for a league pass subscription? Please help!

Worth getting. Really great app you can watch all the games and for pretty cheap and can look at all the scores of different games

Getting worse. You’d think this new *updated* app would be an improvement over the previously awful app. Sorry to disappoint you. Money is coming into the league at this point, but marketing and technology is clearly not a priority. WNBA, you’re not helping yourselves or your players with allowing this garbage to represent you. Do better.

So Few Games Available. I wish I would’ve paid more attention to how many games were on other networks. I paid for this service and it looks like I’ll have access to 1 out of every 6 games. You need about 7 different streaming channels to watch all of the WNBA games. Don’t waste your money on the pass when you don’t even get to watch half the games.

Keep My Place!. I’m a huge fan of the W, season tickets in my city and everything. I love League Pass, but it’s super annoying that the app doesn’t allow you to start from where you left off if you can’t finish a game in one sitting. The old version would show that, and I loved it

Positive Update. Huge improvement from the previous version! Easy to navigate. Love the “hide the scores” feature, very useful.

Unable to watch. Unable to watch all games on demand as advertised. Trying to watch the Seattle Storm vs LA Sparks and it’s not available in my area. WNBA cannot advwrtise yhat a subscriber can watch all games on demand if all games are not available. If the games are going to be carried on CBS SN instead, Why would a fan pay for the WNBA app rather than CBS Sports network? Disappointing.

Excited for season using this app. This app is much improved from last year’s app, which primarily allowed me to watch games. Excited to follow this season in this new app.

New app is 🔥. The new app looks SO good! I love the easy access to get info about where I can watch games. Can’t wait for the season to start!

Updated app is horrible. I completed the required update before this new season, and the updates are horrible! The app logs me out repeatedly. Like, within seconds of logging in, it logs me out, over and over again. The game streaming stops and logs out in the middle of watching the games. The feed is terrible. The game schedule doesn’t actually display all of the games, unless you click the link on the home page. The home page linked schedule is not mobile optimized, and it is not user-friendly. I can’t figure out how to go back and view scores or streams from previous games. I could go on, but overall, I think the old version was MUCH better! I have yet to find anything about this update that is not actually worse.

Horrible contract. So I downloaded the app and willfully accepted the contract. But now I think the contract requiring responsibilities on my behalf is out of line. The contract there Ford should change because it is discriminatory, and the designers are also discriminatory. This is how you complain about contract remorse right? By crying discrimination and then insisting the contract i willfully signed be altered to fit what I expect, and not what I agreed too. I mean, it works for the people your app is about when they want compassion for choices they freely made.

Needs to improve. We love watching the WNBA games but this app needs improvement. It is difficult to sign in. If we have purchased the app for the year, why do we continuously have to sign in each time we want to watch a game? Can’t be used on more than one device at a time. Why can’t we have multiple games on different devices. Not a fan of commercials but why can’t we listen to the announcers during the breaks?

Can’t airplay. Hi…. I was so excited to finally be able to watch all the games on my big screen!!! But the app simply will not go smoothly from my iPhone 13 Pro to my Roku device OR my Sony Bravia TV. I can do it with other apps no problem but every time I try w this app it either freezes, won’t play at all or crashes if I try to rewind or fast forward. PLEASE HELP!

Don’t purchase team pass. I wouldn’t recommend getting just a team pass if the team you watch is local. I paid for the Mercury team pass and have been able to watch one of 6 games on the app because the others have been blacked out Total waste of money. It does show you good highlights and lets you look at stats. That’s the only thing I would recommend it for.

App Crashes. Every time I’ve tried to open the app since I downloaded it crashes (never even seen one bit of content). I deleted and reinstalled and still had the same issue. Tried to report the issue and the WNBA website says page not found. Really disappointing knowing that this kind of issue would never occur with the NBA app even though they’re developed by the same company.

Can't Update App 😡. I went to the WNBA app to watch a preseason game and was told that I need to update the app (I watched it just fine 2 days ago). I clicked on "update WNBA" and then got an error message in the Apple Store: "Cannot connect to App Store." I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it--got the same message, and same results on both iPad and iPhone. What kind of stupidity is this? Once again, the WNBA shoots itself in the foot. DO BETTER. You can do it if you really try!

Rate app. Not very user friendly, bought the app to watch the games but you can’t just open the menu and click on games. it’s difficult to find a game that has already been played and you are constantly asked to agree to cookies

Disappointed. About a third of the games for my home team are unavailable through league pass due to obligations with different outlets that leave me blacked out. Answers to multiple inquiries by me were unhelpful and indifferent at best. Update: They responded to this review with a message that said, basically, “Too bad, but we’ll let you watch all the games that you paid for but we blacked out sometime after they’re over.” Gee, thanks. Update again: This time, 11 months later, they basically told me, “Thanks, have a nice day!” Well, at least they respond. Do not download and pay for this app.

Constant crashes, no basic features. The update (2023 season) crashes dozens of times per game. No exaggeration. There is no queue, no playlist, no watch history… the app doesn’t even remember where you were within a single game. So after it crashes, which is will, the game will reset and you are forced to try and manually find where you left off. Forget going back and watching old seasons. With no history and no basic features, the only way to keep track would be pen and paper 🫥 The games are great. This app is horrible.

New version is bug city. WNBA should be embarrassed by this app. It keeps logging me out of my account. Games disappear from it’s schedule. If the purpose of this app is to simply connect people who have League Pass to the available games then it does that. But if it’s trying to engage fans with content, stats, players, news, then that’s totally buried in a bad webview in-app browser that feels like a hack.

Please hide final scores. Most games can’t be live-streamed, so I’m mostly watching games that have already happened. Please hide the final scores in the game stream user experience! Mobile Chromecast to TV works great. Apple Air Play has slower loading times and image quality issues.

Disappointed. I got league pass excepting to watch games I couldn’t watch any place else. Guess what still can’t watch the games!!! Can’t complain to anyone though the app! So, gotta leave a bad review!! For a league that I truly enjoy watching!!! Dang!!!
