Bug fixes and enhancements
Works when it works. Viewing phone goes offline sometimes and that's it. Seems it can't reconnect even if the wifi signal comes back (iPhone 5--connected to power and a strong wifi signal). I'll pay the premium for the auto-record (which worked fine during trial when phone was connected) when I can have a reliable system.
I'm actively downloading other apps because of the change in your pricing policy. The fact that your market this as a security device but then cripple it in an update not letting people know that they're putting their homes at risk is far more than greedy, it's irresponsible.
This will expire soon after you install it. Don't waste your time.
The new update makes it so I can't view the motion events at all without a subscription plan, which is clearly a greedy money grab, disguised as a simple "bug fixes and enhancements" update. I would be fine with a single time purchase for this feature, but when the only thing you can do without a recurring subscription is be alerted "there was motion" the app is useless. It has triggered on my automatic lights turning on/off, and without the ability to view the footage the app becomes useless as a security camera. Also, my camera device inexplicably went "offline" after just one day of use (running the previous version; it was connected to a constant charger, wifi, and had worked as a photo clock for months without incident). I was considering upgrading to a paid multi-device plan after this trip, but now will almost certainly not. This app failed to protect my home just 1 day into a several week long trip, I just hope no one breaks in while it's inactive.
I think it's the best free surveillance app on the AppStore if you want to use an old tablet or phone. My only complaint is how small the window is when viewing live videos. I wish it would take up the entire screen.
No flashlight option anymore ..fix please
I am using a variety of old iPods and an iPhone 5 as the cameras and an iPhone 6 to view and I couldn't be happier. I've had it for a few weeks and it has performed above my expectations.
Do not subscribe to this unless you have an android. iPhones work terrible on these. I've tested Samsung S3, S5, Note 4 and they work great. 7plus and the Mini4 are horrible. Grainy and choppy videos. Awful! Also drains the crap out of your batteries even on android even while plugged in! I'd like my money back. I'll call this the battery killer!!!
Wouldn't it work better AND be cheaper just to buy a I.p. cam?
I highly recommend this app! Been using it for awhile now. Luv everything about it. I can't wait for their Hikvision integration!
You can view live video. But won't let you play the saved motion clips unless you pay. ::yawn::
Useless now with no free basic recording. Only live viewing for free.
Had been using the free version of this app for a few months... found it to be a bit glitchy but was thinking about upgrading at some point. Suddenly, Manything removes the ability to record from the free app without letting me know. Not cool. I don't like to be baited and now they want to nickel & dime for recording capabilities. What they don't tell you is that it is very easy to eat up all your recording allocation with things like changes in light level & changes in sound level (if you use sound triggers).
I have three cameras on my account. The app is a great way to monitor my home, inside and out. I made a mistake when I added a third camera and Mike at Manything was helpful to get my error corrected. I highly recommend this as a very inexpensive way to keep an eye on my property. Update: I now have five cameras. There is no way to go wrong with this app. It even caught a criminal when the local police department wanted footage off one of my cameras. They remarked at how great the resolution was and wanted info on Manything. If you have issues, their highly knowledgeable tech support department will stay at it until resolved. Update: The new version is incredibly faster! Thanks for keeping it simple. Very cost-effective security solution.
I REALLY like that it supports iOS 6.0 and older, so I can use my iPod 4G to record. I also like that it can be accessed on most platforms, so it is inter-device. I haven't really found any problem with the app as of now.
What happened that the latest iPad version no longer was a trashcan in the top right hand corner to delete clips while you are watching them? No you are forced to exit the video player that is playing your clips and delete them from the list of events.
I have been using this app for watching my dogs when we are out to watching the activity at the front door for a while now. We live in a remote area and it gives me peace of mind to be able to check the activity when we are away. Easy to set up and use and I have recommended this app many times.
I was an early adopter when it was free for all aspects (more than one camera, etc). You can integrate with IFTTT to set the camera to record automatically when you're away. Although they introduced pricing plans, they still have a free plan and their pricing is super reasonable compared to home camera systems on the market like drop cam. The fact that you don't have to buy cameras is a huge savings as well. This is a great inexpensive supplement to my home security system. Gives me peace of mind being able to check on the house and my dog when I'm away. I love that you can talk out of the camera too!! There have need a lot of great updates since I've joined. Looking forward to more.
Unfortunately Manything is only as reliable as your electric utility company and/or your WiFi service provider. On two vacations, separate electric and Comcast outages closed out my iPad Air2 Manything connection. With no one there to reconfigure/reset the hookup, nothing was monitored for the rest of my trips. These weaknesses reduce its functional reliability to near zero.
Not anymore. The update strained the old device so the last useful thing this old device has us gone Also the new subscription policy defeated the purpose why I used it in the first place. When it worked, the app was great.
