Not much. Much to difficult to switch different monies.

Clean, Intuitive, Concise.. This app works the way that you instinctively think it should. All of the swipe motions and tap functions were second nature to myself. It features a massive selection of currencies to choose from, to add and remove from the list, and graph depictions of the value of each currency over the past 6 months. Overall, it's not frivolous, it looks nice, and super useful to anyone who travels, or is thinking about traveling. Definitely worth the buck.

Update mess with the widget. The widget it’s now shining white, so horrible! :( It use to be the default system color, not anymore. Sometimes I think it’s not updating if I don’t open the app as well..

Bait and switch, old version was better. Paid for a lifetime unlock on the old version to unlock multiple currencies. This new version of the app has just come out with a monthly fee for the feature I already paid for. Classic bait and switch scam tactic, I’ll be going back to Siri for my currency needs.

Preferred the way the old app looked. I preferred the old app better. I can’t swipe to delete anymore and the older app encompassed the entire screen, it was visually more appealing. Any way you can add the option to revert back?

new update is so bad.. i loved the old version. simple and easy to understand. after the new update, there are so many complications. After awhile, it can get pretty frustrating.

The Best: Unsolicited review. Tl;Dr: If you need to compare currencies, this is the one to get. Very clean, functional, and easy to use. Has a great widget. The developer has switched to a free version with an in-app purchase to get people to try out the app. It's a good idea, but as a consumer, I would have preferred two apps, with one as the free model, and one as the play model, with importation of data from the free app. But that's just my preference. He is doing right by the people who had picked up the app on the old model, by marking their accounts as Premium. A good way to treat people. I also love the new Night Mode for the app.

Rates not updating. Beautifully designed app though.. This was the best looking, simple, forex rates app with Today widget out there. Trust me I’ve downloaded them all! This simply looks beautiful. But it seems like the rates have stopped updating. I’ve had the NZD/VND stuck at the same rate for a week now. First I thought it was just a data feed issue, but it hasn’t fixed itself, and I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. I got a new rate, but one that doesn’t move from day to day. This is true for both my iPhone and iPad.

When you want to keep it simple. Highly recommend as your quick go-to app.

App looks great and works well. This app is amazing and works really well. It also looks great. The only gripe I can add is that the app icon has a faint grid in the background. It was probably used to help design the app icon, but the designer forgot to remove it.

Awful Update. This app used to be the best currency app of all time. I used to use this app religiously and shared with all my friends. This new UI is absolutely terrible. Please revert the app to its original form. Disappointed.

Apple Watch app won’t open. The app won’t open on my watch. Tried several times and reinstalled etc.

BUT!!. The application is great and easy to use and the interface is clean, but I hope to minimize the interface to see the largest possible number of currencies without going down unfortunately

Ridiculous nickel&diming. Apparently to use the calculator function in this app, you need to buy a subscription. How stupid is that. Delete this app.

Beautiful app, but has some serious problems.. The app is beautiful, but it has some serious limitations and problems. First, there is no ability to input decimals. A currency app with no decimals??? Second, the implementation of the numbers keyboard is terrible. The keyboard itself is great and beautiful, but the fact that the first row of numbers is always visible, that's just poor execution. No way to reorder the currencies as far as I can tell. Overall, needs work. But can easily be 5 star app.

What a great app. This could be the best currency converter in the Store. Clean and neat interface. Supports Bitcoin. 👍🏼

Simple and fast. Used this app for my trip to Medellin and it was simple to use and fast with the conversions.

Solid. Does exactly what it's supposed to do, no fluff no filler. My only gripe is the widget could be smaller, other than that this app is perfect for what it does

Needs a Better Widget. Currency is an excellent application. It does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. I just wish the widget was better. PCalc (an excellent calculator) has a widget that works as the calculator so you don't need to launch the app; you can use the calculator right in the widget. It would be great if, with Currency, you could do the conversion within the widget without launching the app. I hope the developer will implement this feature in the future. That said, it is a fantastic application.

Update: fixed - New version conveniently forgets I’ve already paid for this app. Update: the developer fixed the issue. Updated the rating. Thanks. This app used to be a one-time (lifetime) purchase app with a list of all currencies that you can use. I’ve paid for that app. It worked fine, I did not expect any updates. As of today, the app I paid for is replaced by this ‘update’ to a brand new but worse app, and I am downgraded to the free plan. The free plan has limitations my previous paid purchase did not. Adding insult to injury, the app contains a ‘lifetime’ purchase option. The problem is, I’ve already paid for my lifetime purchase once before. They did not retain my previous lifetime purchase, and there is now a different, new ‘lifetime’ purchase option with no acknowledgement anywhere that I have already paid. What proof does anybody even have that their ‘lifetime purchase ’ won’t go ‘poof’ like my first lifetime? It is a trivial amount of work to move the previously paid people into the new lifetime tier, which is the best practice for good apps in the App Store. But that’d make them less money and wouldn’t allow them to double dip their hands into the cookie jar, so the app conveniently forgets. My recommendation would be to avoid any app made by these people because no one can guarantee your payment will not be conveniently forgotten like mine did. There are a million currency apps out there, and about the entire million of them are more deserving of your money, should you choose to spend it, than this one.

Simple and Easy. Clear, concise, and easy to use. I've had this app for a few years and it's always been great. Definitely worth the price for premium because it does what you need and stays out of its own way. Keep up the good work!

Generic new look ruined one of my favourite apps. Update: The developer replied and they will offer the previous look and feel as an option. Glad to hear this. I’ve upgraded my score to 4 stars and will make it 5 when the feature is actually released. I’ll be subbing for a month to see how it goes. Thanks for the response! This used to be one of my favourite looking apps. Now it has abandoned it’s original and minimal design for a generic one that makes it look just like every other currency app out there. They tore everything down, the pleasant colour scheme, the beautiful font and the unique UI. I would like to have the old look at least as an option. Would happily subscribe just for that. For now, I’ll be moving on to another app.

Inaccurate currency. The one thing it has to show correctly. The currency conversion for us to India is completely incorrect

Awful customer service. I enjoyed using the app while being out of the country. However after I got back to the states, I noticed I was unable to change the currency type. I tried restarting my phone, and still nothing. I uninstalled the app thinking it would solve my problem, but nope. I tried installing it again and it kicked me back to the free version. I reached out to them via email and have not heard back.

Button layout wrong. Top line of a calculator is 7-8-9. In this app, top line is 1-2-3 (telephone keypad layout). Too bad. In all other ways this is a good app. Ironically, the layout in the watch app is correct.

New 2.0 upgrade…. Still getting used to the new app. I still prefer the old UI, but the new one is workable. Initially it converted my app from paid (long ago) to requiring upgrade, but the developer fixed it and restored purchase for me within 6 hours of emailing them, which is a pretty awesome response time.

Update ruined this. Use this for travel all the time. This app was better before the update. With the update the majority of the app is now locked behind a paywall and the simple aesthetics have been changed. Just use a google search instead. Another one bites the dust.

Good, but could be great. My old currency converter is dying with iOS 11, so I went to look for a replacement. This looked good and had good reviews so I tried it, and it's good... but needs a little work. First, it's really quite solid; it's simple in basic use, and the clever bit about the numbers fading and sliding off to the right to clear the values is a really nice touch. The main-use design is clean. And that just makes the other problems stand out more. First, a detail: flags are not square, and while it might have been a design choice to try to make it look clean, it just ends up making it look kind of Windows 3-ish. You have the horizontal real estate to use rectangles if you want. Conversely, either make the flags circles (trendy but not functional imo), or round the corners (more in line with Apple), or something. Selecting currencies is mystifying until you figure out what's happening when you tap, and this needs help. Perhaps a two tap setup where you select the one you want to replace, then the one you want to replace it with? Maybe drag and drop so you can specify which you want to use and which to replace in one gesture? At the very least add some animation so we can see what's happening when you tap a new currency. The current model is hard to figure out and hard to use. And last: you need an actual control to poll or not poll for updates. Yes, I'd like an "update now" gesture, but I mean something to turn automatic updating OFF if you're in a country where you have a very limited amount of data or it's very expensive. I often want to still let my phone use, say, maps, but have as many things as possible shut off so they don't vampire my data little by little. Having a control in the app vs relying on iOS's "use cellular data" switch would be comforting to know that a positive and easy-to-get-to control was there. So: good foundation, hope to see some additions and changes. If it had some of these, I'd absolutely buy the Premium. (Heck, put that "go offline" switch in Premium and I'd buy it.)

Handles decimals incorrectly. When I type €6.50, I get $7. Where’s the decimal? If I out €65, then I get $71. Plus, the UI is announcing counter-intuitive. Try to change currencies

Good and simple converter BUT. This app was the way-to-go in currency converter. Shared it with friends and family, colleagues and people that needed a fast currency conversion. Last update changed a lot of things. Only one thing was good: See the rate of your local currency faster. The bad? • Trying to get conversions between currencies that are not your local needs a lot of steps (before was 2 taps) • Paywalls for everything that before was free: -Cannot have more than 5 favourite currencies unless paid (before $2,99; any currency) -Cannot add another “local” currency unless paid (Not an option before, not needed) Unfortunate to lose another excellent app to the usual “subscription” plan that a lot of awful apps use. One-time payment also is extremelly expensive. I understand you need to obtain profits, but even if $5 a year sounds cheap, you get almost nothing for that “pro” badge. Thanks for the last 6 years using this app.

Used to be good however seems it no longer works. I bought the upgrade in app months ago was working fine I loved it. Used it on all my travels. However, when I bought a new phone and installed it and restored purchases it won’t even load that nor will it let me buy it again. However it still allows a trial but cannot buy or restore the purchase. I’d love if this could work again but, it doesn’t at the moment. 😞

Thanks for the fix. UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW! Thank you for the fix to the issue with the app not recognizing my previous purchase! It is now working with no limitations and is as good as it always has been.

Paid for upgrade not worth it. Paid for the premium version still get only 5 currencies. There are better currency converters that are free. Do not waste your money with this one like I did.

Excellent App.. This app is a must have for anyone that has a need to convert currencies. It has a very classy and simple interface that's a pleasure to use. With the addition of the calculator in the most recent update, it's just that much better and makes converting a breeze. I feel like the widget can be improved upon and if there was an option for voice input and integration with Siri that would be sick. Automatic night mode for premium users would be nice. Overall, I highly recommend it.

USD is the only thing you can convert from? Really?. As someone who doesn’t deal primarily in USD, it seems wild I can’t set the base exchange rate to something else. Like, anything else.

Good. Effective app, better now but one bug that bothers me is the font colour fades out to illegibility when you switch to another app and then come back later.

Pretty interface, lacking mathematical functions. Pretty iOS 7 interface. Calculator is lacking mathematical function such addition, subtraction..etc, which is useful if needed to calculate multiple purchases at once.

Only works for USA. For some reason I can't set it to Aussie dollar and very currencies like rupiah not very good app

I love ❤️. The interface is so simple and clean. Great for doing a quick check before making online purchases to avoid nasty exchange rate surprises. Also lovely to be able to see trends over time.

One little flaw. Sometimes when this app tries to aim for simplicity, it detracts from the enjoyment. For example, the keypad is made retractable in an effort to remove modality, but I find this slightly awkward and visually distracting, as a small sliver of the keypad has to remain onscreen at all times. It’s visually unappealing and doesn’t really follow with iOS’ interface metaphors, in which the expectation is that keypads dismiss completely when not in use. It is ironic that a decision which aimed to remove complexity has caused more confusion. Other than that, the app is wonderful and deserves a full five stars.

Great visuals, poor usability. I have a thing for great looking apps, and it fills a functional void. It has great aesthetics, but that seemed to take too much focus, and almost took it too far in simplifying. I'm not a fan with how the currency selection works. It should allow me to choose two currencies independent of one another. The current method is extremely frustrating. I'd also like to see a clear button. I like the swipe to clear, as it's rather unique, but I would like the speed of a single tap to clear my values. Hopefully this is constructive enough feedback!

Simple but chart needs more detail. This app is really simplistic but it takes time to get used to how to function it as some interactions aren't as common. I'm hoping the statistical chart could offer more detail into how the exchange rates have spiked over other amounts of time and also hoping to see the actual exchange rate number.

Needs decimals. 2/5 because the app doesn't have decimals, hopefully the dev updates it. Would be 5/5 otherwise though, great ui, animation, design.

Beautiful and Functional. This app is absolutely gorgeous. It's one of the rare few apps that manage to balance clean design with intuitiveness and functionality. It does exactly what I need, with a little bit of eye candy thrown in (the number deletion animation is delightful!)

Simple app, clean design. I really appreciate the simple function of apps like currency; it's easy to include additional (unnecessary) features, but tough to trim down to the core functionality. The design is beautiful, and very minimal. It's flat, but with a subtle depth that really shines. It's different than most iOS apps, but feels right at home.

Nice simple app. This app is lovely and simple, exactly what I was looking for while travelling. There is one major annoyance -- there needs to be a delete button when typing in numbers. I'm surprised this oversight was made, it's such a fundamental input function. Having to close out of the number pad and swipe around to delete what you just typed is very unintuitive.

Most beautiful and functional travel app. Use this year after year, everywhere I travel. Great in a pinch when I'm haggling in markets without wifi, or on an island calculating transportation costs. Quickly convert and slide away numbers and currencies.

Disappointing. You would think that a paid app would have some basic functionality, but without a way to delete numerical entries, this app is completely useless.

Great To Have. When you travel to a new currency it is nice to compare with your usual currency so you can compare to make sure your not paying too much. Great app with good information.

Best app for the job. It does one thing and does it right!

Watch Your Dong!. Beautiful app that does currency conversions quite well. However, there's one issue. This app doesn't support the Dong well. It flails and gives up when it's too high. It refuses to accept any inputs past 999,999,999 - amounts that can be normal when you're dealing with lots of Dong. If you're going to be in Vietnam and dealing with lots of Dong, you better have another conversion app for the big Dong.

Perfect App. Fast and easy to use. Watch app is equally wonderful but needs a Watch face complication for easier access.

Good, fast, but a bit unpolished. The app does what it supposed to do, and quickly. My only gripe is that it would be nice if one could control the size of each text box (and the font size), allowing one to see more than just a couple of currency conversions. It would be very easy to get several conversions displayed by simply making the text and the boxes smaller ad a bit more refined in how it looks... Good job otherwise!

Only flaw : Crashes. By far my most favorite currency converter in terms of aesthetics, simplicity and functionality. However, it crashes to the point where there's a lot of deleting the app and re-downloading it. Once this tick is resolved, however, I wouldn't know why it wouldn't be anyone's preferred currency app.
