App won’t update. App says to update, but the update is not happening. App support only opens the OPM website which is of course not helpful. Am I supposed to figure out which number to call to get App support?

Daily alerts for open. This is crazy, get a alert every night at 12:30 am saying open. I had to remove it. Please try to make something that works like it should.

Works but only if I open it. Have had it for at least a year and it has never once sent a push notification. I checked all settings in the app and in iOS. For notifications I get the OPM emails. They tend to come an hour late but at least they come, and then gmail notifies me. Without notifications this app is kind of useless because you might as well just use Safari and go to the OPM website.

Don’t download the latest update. Now it’s frozen on November 13, 2018.

Works well. I've noticed if you are watching TV, they know before the APP. But it's nice to have cause if your not watching TV or out, you can still know if you need to go to work or not. It has worked well for my family.

To the point.. It does exactly what you would need it to do...Notify you of alerts.

Just installed this App.... ...and wanted to point out that under Settings, “Delayed Arrival” appears twice.

Great start but needs some improvements. There's a lot of latency and load time for the app right after it pulls up. If you slightly scroll, it drags along and you can see it stuttering a lot. Plus it continues to load for 1-2 minutes on 3G/4G for 4/4S users.

App is a failure; same folks want to run your healthcare. Crashes, doesn’t load, settings don’t work. If they can’t fix an app how do you expect them to manage your healthcare?

STATUS. You would think they would fix this app and the status after a year. The same ole problem, worthless.

And the hits keep on failing.. Outdated. Slow. Needs gentle (and constant) prodding to work. Hey OPM... a little love?

Terrible. Doesn’t alert me when the status changes, have to check manually, which makes it useless

Furlough options. Please add this

OPM APP. This is my “Go-To” App. One stop shop. The easiest way to eliminate the middle-man!

No longer launching. Used to work like a charm. Now it fails to launch.

App. The alerts are not working

Since March, sending open status almost daily. I’ve had this app for years without issue and ever since our last day off due to weather this app has been sending me open statuses almost daily. It stops for a few days and then starts again. I’ve gotten them on Saturday’s so not just M-F. The settings tab never opens up, the app just thinks and thinks and then settings tab goes away completely. I reported this in May initially. Please fix this app! Thank you.

Information is not updated. The details in this app with regard to COVID has not been updated since 07 May 2020.

Good if you’re in DC. It was pretty useful when I lived in DC. But in typical fashion, they seem to have forgotten that our government has offices and employees in all states and territories and across the globe.

Used to work fine. I used to receive notifications normally regarding closures and delays but at some point all I ever received was daily status notifications...and now I just don’t receive any notifications.

Accurate status updates. The app provides up to date status updates as soon as it happens. Have had this app for three years and never any issues. Works great.

Date not accurate. It currently states the operating status for November 13th. It’s now November 15th. Does this type of thing happen often? Questioning the usefulness of this app. The OPM website is also not current. Looks like they need more than one person double-checking this stuff is current every day. Looks really bad.

Won’t launch anymore.. Consistently crashes upon launch.

Used to be invaluable. Now, on my iPhone 11 Pro, the app just crashes upon opening. It goes without saying that alert notifications don’t come through either. The dev team is apparently moving at the speed of government with keeping up to date.

Crashes upon opening. Every time the same thing...crashes at opening. Possibly because of over use by bewildered federal employees trying to access it at keys times with all the confusion on federal furloughs. But that’s when we need to view it and it doesn’t show updates in a long time. Please check it out for crash enhancements and updates .

Alerts work, settings options don't. Successfully communicates operating status daily, whether you want it to or not! I have my settings configured to NOT provide a nightly alert and it does anyway. I also have the individual alerts sets to NOT alert me if status is OPEN. Yet every night a get an alert that it's open the next day. Assuming that most people are primarily interested in closures for weather or other reasons, you should probably make the settings work so that you can actually only be notified of closures.

Good App.. This application does one thing, and one thing WELL. It tells you what the current (and previous) operational status of the US Federal Governments OPM Alert. The push notification is super convenient, especially if you don't have access to your work email to get the OPM notifications of delayed arrival, dismissal, or other status changes.

Says the govt is open on a federal holiday. Today is a federal holiday (New Years Day Observed) and yet OPM Alert is telling me the government is Open with Maximum Telework Flexibilities. That makes no sense whatsoever. And of course there is no way to contact OPM to tell them they got it wrong. Even their website says the same thing and offers no way to contact them about OPM Alert.

Please update for ios9. It's a nice, clean, compact little app that does exactly what it needs to and is easy to use. Sadly, it didn't update with ios9 - it crashes immediately every time I try opening it now. My coworkers who are still on ios8 have no problems. Please update! It was bad enough not being sure I'd get a notification about hurricane Joaquin, but I definitely hope to be able to get alerts from this app come winter!

Good, but needs a bit of polishing.. This app does everything you would hope it would do. The data is accurate and is updated at the same time as the website. However, work needs to be done to correct the notification settings. I’m using the current version and the list of available notifications I can receive is duplicated. I’ve turned off “Open” in three different places, but still the notifications come. It got to the point that I just turned off app notifications all together.

No alerts. The stupid thing never sends me alerts. I’ve driven all the way into work (to include today) when it was closed.

Out of date. Sends a notification of operating at status EVERY night just past midnight. Not useful.

App now useless. The app does not function in the background and does not reliably provide notifications. What’s the purpose, then? Totally useless!

Every time I want to go to work.... ... it tells me we’re shut down. Every time I want to stay home it tells me to go to work. What gives?

Won’t open from menu anymore. App won’t open when clicking on it. Only way I can open is by opening it through the App Store.

Add holidays. Add federal holidays.

Shut Down. I have the app loaded on my phone but it won’t completely open. Not sure why though

Day of the month really small. Could you make the day of the month any smaller &$€¥%# What about having the day of the week (amazing concept)

iPhone X. Please make it iPhone X compatible.

Push notifications. Using the iPhone XSM running iOS 12.1.1 and the app doesn't push notifications. Works on my 7plus running the same iOS platform. App needs some minor tweaking for compatibility. 4 stars as it works on my 7plus but 0 stars as it doesn’t work on the XSM. UPDATE: Reset all the alert notifications. Apps seems to work and push notifications to include on the lock screen.

Useless. Doesn’t send alerts. No better than getting on the Internet and checking the OPM website. A perfect metaphor for our government - it doesn’t work as advertised.

It does one thing well. During the big snowstorm in DC, I was happily sipping hot apple cider reading a book while my friends were madly hitting refresh on the opm website to find out if we needed to go into the office the next day. I got a little push notification at the same time they got the news. Thanks OPM! Obviously a pretty useless app if you're not a federal worker or a DC employee whose work schedule is tied to OPM announcements, by if you are - super handy.

Settings won’t display. I’ve used the app on previous phones but now I can’t get to settings anymore.

Works as advertised. Simple and does what it's supposed to. Nice to receive push notification updates instead of constantly checking the OPM web site. A must-have for anyone running on the federal government work schedule.

Fraud, waste. On this first "snow day" of FY14, this app said the government was open until 5:29 am. Obviously, everything was closed with a two hour delay. Probably worked out well for standard 9-5 office trolls, but not so much for those that report in before 5 am.

Settings. Says I am unable to adjust settings unless connected to Internet. iPhone is connected. Seems to be an issue.

Constant Crashing Upon Opening. Worked well until the iOS 9 release.., now it just crashes upon opening.., every time. Not a surprise that the government is taking FOREVER to update something...

Does its job. Work as expected alerts are simply and on time.

Works yet complains No internet connection?. The app installs and pulls updates successfully, it showed me the 21 Jan 2014 shutdown in the DC area. But the settings tab complains “No internet connection” and “Yo ucan not access your settings while offline”. Then it crashes. OPM has some more testing to do!

Used to be a good app. I used this app all the time when it first came out—very useful for “the” word on openings, unscheduled leave and telework, and office closings. Sadly, it hasn’t been updated and quit working. OPM has many problems, that now extend to being able to keep its app up to date and operational. One star because no option for less.

App Stopped working. I used the app with my iphone4 for a long time. Very convenient to use in the winter. My iPhone 5s, the app has never worked under ios8 or the new ios9.

Does what I need it to do. I needed an easy way to see the opm status during this lovely shutdown. This does the trick.

Helpful. Pretty useful app. Only issue is the GLARING typo on the settings page. "Receive" is spelled incorrectly. Other than that, this is very helpful.

App crashing. The app crashes as soon as you open it. The couple of times it does open it freezes on the screen. Please update this app soon. It was very helpful the last couple of winters.

Incorrect reviews. The app works as intended and has a nice interface. Remember that during a government shutdown, nonessential personnel (i.e. those responsible for updating the content that powers the app) would be furloughed.

Please update for iOS 9. This is a great app for what it does, but now with iOS 9 it just crashes. I hope it will be updated soon with winter coming, it could also use a face lift.

Doesn't open on iOS 9. In need of an update since the last one was two years ago. It doesn't open on devices running iOS 9. Maybe support new screen sizes?

Works great after iOS 9 update. I love the app and being able to see the status right away especially now that winter is here.

App is not quite right. The app is not centered, it's shifted a 1/4in up the screen so you can't press the menu button.

Fix it!!. I loved this app it worked very well with my iPhone 5s and 6. A week ago I got 6s Plus this app wouldn't opening. Thought, I need to relaunch again tried many times didn't work! I live in D.C area and have been relying on this app for the past two winters- especially during snowing months. Developers!! Do you read these reviews!!! If so, please fix the issues asap..

Font for date. Can you perhaps make the font for the date a tad darker and maybe larger? That would be great especially for some of us close to retiring who get up real early in the mornings and have difficulty focusing.

Incorrect reviews. I have not used this yet but those who complained about the shutdown are wrong -- OPM didn't change their status until 10am that day, even on the regular website. So the app was not wrong -- it was OPM itself that screwed up.

Crashes on iPhone 6s. This app work great on my iPhone 5 now that I've upgraded to an iPhone 6s the app has never worked. I have upgraded to the latest software for the iOS and still have no luck with the app, still continues to crash.

Notifications Don't Work. Even though my phone is setup to receive updates via banner alerts, the app never sends any updates whatsoever. OPM,update the app or don't even pretend to actually know what you're doing.

Full of lies just like the whole system. Today is 12/8 - because it is effing cold I noticed when my main source of heat got out of bed. He said his app said open. Because I knew he was probably wrong and I like to be right,I checked the main website too. Sure enough OPM website says 2 hour delay. Instead of coming back to bed to make me happy he has to go out and start deicing the truck thanks to the furloughs this summer screwing him on leave since he has none to take. Tl;dr version: this app runs as well as the government does itself which is not at all.

Basic but efficient. This app is exactly what is needed when emergencies happen.

Are you going to update it?. You say you are aware? Are you going to update the app? Myself as well of thousands depend on this app regarding inclement weather. Can you at least tell us if you don't plan on updating? It was an amazing great resource app until the iOS9 came out.

Nope. Just downloaded at the tip of a coworker as winter is coming up. But app crashes immediately upon opening. Makes it quite useless. Running iOS 9.1. Still no update to this app. Holding onto it in hopes that before snow season arrives they'll get it together? Maybe?

Stopped working with iOS 9 update. Loved the app until it stopped working (wont open or freezes when opening) since updating iPhone to latest 9 update. Please fix.

Easily breaks. Had this app on my iPhone. Worked several months but now it doesn't. I reloaded the app and it opened one time and now it's broken all ready! Obviously defense budgets are preventing this app from being properly tested!

Park is closed...moose out front should have told you. The local news and opm website have the federal government closed tomorrow...not the opm app. When the federal government recommends getting the app for the most up to date info they might want to actually update the information. Way to drop the ball opm.

Finally!!. Website was terrible on mobile. Really only want this piece of information from OPM on a regular basis and this app finally delivers beautifully.

Works just fine. Works perfectly (iPhone) Accessed settings just fine. Push notifications available.

Pleasantly surprised. Really pleasantly surprised to see this updated for iOS 9 with a nice modern design, and in time for the winter season. Will hopefully be updated at least annually going forward.

Not good app. I agree with other reviewers that the notification does not work and u have to check it manually. This needs to be fixed because what's the point of the app if u have to check it manually. Please fix this problem

Other locations?. This app looks lovely but is completely useless for Feds outside DC. Note to OPM: there are thousands of us just up the road in Baltimore who are not covered by this app. Could you possibly allow us to choose our work location? That's a universal feature in weather apps (and others). I can't imagine it's that hard.

Why no iPad version?. Wish you had an iPad version. Simply enlarging the screen to a fuzzy version just isn't the same.

OPM Alert broken with iOS 9. Upgrade to iOS 9 (and 9.0.1 and .2) seems to have broken the OPM Alert app. Appears to open for a moment then fails and closes. Tried to fix by deleting then reinstalling the app; no joy. Workaround is to put link for OPM website status page on home screen.

Great app, minor issue though.. Automatic notifications are not working. This seems have broken for a long time.

Love this App. This is such a great app for government employees to use. One problem - the date on the status tab is one day behind. Has anyone else experienced this? Overall, this app is wonderful.

Clean, simple, useful. This is a very simple, cut and dry app that has the potential to be extremely useful, especially in the winter.

You had one job, OPM Status app. It's 7am on Monday and it's still showing Sunday's status. Refresh button does nothing, reloading the app doesn't update it. The website is up to date. Also none f the push features have worked, I have all enabled except the daily push.

Open on Federal Holidays?. It would be nice if the app was able to reflect federal holidays instead of displaying Status Open (which I suppose it is for those required to work on a holiday). Maybe a sprightly different status?

Works...but can't change settings. The app basically works, but you cannot change settings in the app because it thinks it is not connected to the internet on wifi and cellular. This was reported a while ago but still is not fixed. Seems it could have been tested more thoroughly.

Notifications?. I have to manually open the app to see if the gov is open or not. I thought the purpose of this app was to send notifications to users phones without them having to open the app itself.

Notifications Broken. This is a handy app, but unfortunately only good for manually checking the status. Push notifications do not work.

Inaccurate. Government shutdown occurred two hours ago at midnight but this OPM app says U.S. government is open for business. Either they are two hours late updating the operating status of government or the app is just not reliable. This app needs to be updated in a timely manner.

Works great!!!!. I get notified right away. I get up early in the morning, and to see the notification already there, is nice to know what is going on. It serves its purpose.

Update Please!!. As a DOD contractor, this app is extremely important to me as it provides up to the minute status on opening and closing of government facilities. Dice the upgrade to IOS 9, app no longer works and crashes on execution. Please update before winter sets in. Really need this app!!!
