I wish I could give this app 0 Stars too!. I should have read the prior reviews. DO NOT BOOK ANY SERVICES THROUGH THIS APP!! We booked a deep cleaning service. They quoted us around $200 for the job and we pre-paid. The cleaning company then came out to our home and said they had no idea how big the house was and charged us an additional $800 for the job. I clearly stated the size of the home in my request. Handy didn’t even bother to respond to our email regarding the issue. They don’t even have a customer service phone number to speak to a live person. The cleaning company did a good job but we certainly paid more than originally quoted. We have a second job already booked with Handy today to have 2 painting pros come out to complete an interior paint job. We clearly said the job was for 3000 square feet of work and Handy recommended two painters for 6 hours of work. We clearly stated that we needed a ladder 10ft or larger and we would be providing paint. We paid close to $1500 for this job. So far one painter has showed up and she said she doesn’t typically do painting and did not bring tape, tarps, or a ladder. There is absolutely no way one person with no paint supplies can complete this job. Of course I have received no response from Handy after repeated email attempts (because they again, don’t have a live person to speak with). We will be disputing these charges and warning every person we can of what a scam this app is.

Terrible app. I’ve had issues with this service since I signed up. The only reason I’ve stuck with it as long as I have is because I found a great cleaner through it - before finding her, I kept dealing with cleaners canceling on me the morning of scheduled cleanings. This happened the first two times I tried to use the app, and the customer service I received was extremely disappointing. Since then I’ve had issues scheduling specific cleaners (the calendar feature in the app is extremely confusing), and when you do schedule a specific cleaner based on reviews, it’s often switched to a different cleaner without notifying you of any changes. This just happened to me and the new cleaner assigned to my scheduled cleaning says she has 4.5 stars, but when you click her name it says “no reviews yet”. So you switched my cleaner to someone who has no reviews, without notifying me? Really bad experience. **Received a ridiculous response from a developer regarding the above review - saying “Some pros are new and even though they don't have a rating yet it doesn't mean they aren't good at what they do." First of all, this is a service I pay for - I should be notified when the cleaner I’ve selected has been changed. Full stop. Secondly, how can a pro have 4.5 stars if they haven’t been reviewed? Is this a bug, or is the app intentionally misleading its users?

Worst Service I Have Ever Used. Honestly furious with this company’s complete lack of customer service and how they treat their “Pros.” I had a pro I had used several times not show for a cleaning. She communicated with me the day of, and I was fine with rescheduling but then because I tried to do it through the app they charged her a $145 missed cleaning fee (essentially the cost of the service). I was refunded but disgusted with how they treated my pro. She quit the service. Because I had a balance on my account, I rescheduled a cleaning. The new pro didn’t show, and when I reached out to her through the app, she said she had come into contact with someone with COVID (100% the right thing to do). She had notified Handy, but they had never rescheduled or notified me. I reached out to customer service but have not heard back (there is no way to call them, only wait for an email response that never comes). I canceled my plan and requested a refund for the almost $300 in my account through the app and have heard NOTHING. If I wanted to use that balance that was accrued while I had a plan, they are now charging me full price. I am an extremely fair person and wanted the best for myself and the people I’m trusting to do the work, yet Handy treats both its independent contractors and it’s customers HORRIBLY. I have been ghosted by a company that has $300 of my money. I’m at a loss of what to do, but I will continue to try to get that money back no matter what. DO NOT USE THIS APP.

Money stolen, AWFUL Customer Service. I had two envelopes with cash placed in the bottom drawer of my nightstand. They were both taken. A police report was filed but that is more so that if they get another report on the same Handy cleaner they’ll have a pattern and maybe prevent this from happening again. Nobody else had access to my place between the time the money was placed there and the time it went missing. Beware of this service. I’d like to know what sort of background checks are actually done on these individuals. When dealing with Handy they had me jump through numerous hoops to pursue a claim with their claims dept (their suggestion). Only to find out (from the Claims manager Jean) that Handy doesn’t deal with lost cash. This was in the fine print when you sign on for this service. While I understand that, my complaint was in the fact that the Handy customer service reps don’t seems to be aware of this policy otherwise they wouldn’t have had me file a claim. Fast forward to multiple obnoxious emails from the manager Jean repeating over and over “you agreed to this when you signed on” and I’m utterly done with this company. Nothing was resolved and when speaking with the police learned there are numerous open cases related to complaints of theft by a Handy employee. Bottom line, Do Not Trust this service.

Absolutely the most unreliable service I’ve ever experienced across any industry.. Absolutely the most unreliable service I’ve ever experienced across any industry. Not only do “pros” cancel last minute or don’t show, they do a horrific job (mainly have used the service for home cleaning). However, if I rate the “pros” low, they know my address and I fear for me and my family’s safety as we’ve had a couple questionable post-cleaning scares. I’ve had at least a half dozen people cancel on me last minute, leaving us in a bind to get the place cleaned ourselves during apartment moves outs or prior to family events/holidays. “Deep cleaning” service is worthless, as it’s just more time added but the quality is still absolute crap. It’s truly astounding how awful this service is, how unreliable it is, and how the company does nothing to fix it (except a refund and $10 worthless credit for next time). There are never any ”pros” available in my area (the most populated city outside of Chicago) so the “pros” coming in are from not-so-great far away areas, always have an excuse for why they are late, smell like smoke or weed or booze, and never come with cleaning supplies so I’m scrambling to find ours and provide. Honestly, I’m shocked Handy is still in business. Have given the service plenty of opportunities and each subsequent time is worse than the last.

Terrible experience. I hired someone to install wallpaper and turned out they completely lied about having expertise with this and ruined my wall- he tore off the poorly installed paper and the paint came off with it. Handy then sent someone to fix the damage and the new handyman showed up late tried to bribe me and convince me I needed to pay him more money outside of the app so he can finish the job properly. The handyman was also making suggestive comments about my appearance and was making me very uncomfortable- I had to ask for my husband come home. As soon as my husband walked through the door the handyman completely changed his attitude. I couldn’t believe the situation I was in- complete joke. And to top things off Ha day still owes me my full reimbursement. They don’t have a customer service number to call and you can communicate via email. I incurred a lot of expenses including the damaged wallpaper and supplies/labor to repair my wall. Handy has only reimbursed me for half and has stopped responding to my emails all together. I ended up hiring someone from task rabbit and the tasker showed up on time was super precessional and repaired my wall/repainted no problem. Don’t waste your time with handy- they don’t vet their employees well for skill verification and have terrible customer service.

Terrible Customer service. I said in the app to skip my cleaning 2 days before the scheduled cleaning. The day before I saw they had assigned a pro to come. I messaged her telling her not to come as I wouldn’t be home and had canceled it. She said I had to go through the app which I had. Well, my Handy tried to charge me for the service I didn’t get and had canceled. They said I didn’t cancel it! But they want my credit card info because it has changed since I last used them probably 2 years ago because we have done so much remodeling in our home and couldn’t have them come). I want to cancel my service with them and they won’t let me! Believe all the bad reviews you have read. I’ve had the same complaints. I’ve had pros complain about the rating I gave them, too because Handy won’t pay them the full amount if the rating isn’t high enough. They get paid very little as it is. And they send pros that live an hour away to my home! This company sends me emails everyday asking me to update my billing information so they can charge me for a service I didn’t receive! They also won’t let me cancel my plan. I’m basically kicked out of my app until I let them bill me. I still have someone scheduled to come every month that I have to go in and cancel. And that didn’t even work last month! Don’t use this company!!!!!

DO NOT USE APP. I hired a “professional” through the Handy app to hang wallpaper on one wall in the nursery. This “professional” had only hung wallpaper ONE TIME in her life. Did she admit this before the job? Nope. Partway through? Nope. Not until $616 of wallpaper had been ruined, glue somehow spread on parts of the ceiling, glue all over my stone floors and electrical outlets, glue all over my ladder. Only then did she give up hanging the wallpaper and say “sorry, I don’t really know what I’m doing.” How did Handy respond when I emailed them? Perhaps a refund for the service I didn’t receive (the professional left me with a little over half the wallpaper hung using MY blue masking tape, falling off the walls, not cut correctly or anything. The glue covering both the front and back of the wallpaper. Falling off the walls. I have photos.)? Perhaps an offer to send out a replacement professional to do the job I already paid for? NOPE. They just said it’s not their fault. They LIED about vetting the professionals. Lied about the Handy Guarantee. Their solution? $100 credit within the app for the next service I book. Yea. Like I’m ever going to use their app again 🙄 They scammed me out of the money for a service I didn’t receive. Now I’m out the cost of the wallpaper and must repair my ceiling, walls, and stone floors just to get back to where I was before I hired through Handy. And my baby is due in 3 weeks. They royally screwed me over.

Horrible company!. I hired someone to come clean my house. This girl shows up 20 minutes early and clearly seems confused regarding the Handy requirements that she’s to follow. As soon as she started vacuuming and mopping first, I knew this wasn’t going to go well. She proceeded to “clean” my house but I didn’t know she was mixing up her own cleaning concoction that included powder bleach. She then asked me if I had a toilet cleaning brush she could use because she refuses to transport one in her car...toilets did not get cleaned. She placed every single item of laundry in my laundry room in the washer and left it there but didn’t tell me. She used a paper towel to clean my stainless steel refrigerator and left swirl marks on my brand new refrigerator. Her bleach mixture stained/bleached my carpet and my shower curtains and she left this solution on all my countertops...didn’t even wipe them down! The list goes on! Handy has done nothing but given me a $20 credit which is a joke compared to my damage. I’ve asked to cancel and they want to charge $99 to cancel. Today I get charged $183 and discover there’s someone scheduled to clean my house tomorrow! No,no, no!!! So I pay the $99 cancellation today plus get charged $15 for canceling less than 24 hours plus $183 for a cleaning that I got charged $15 to cancel but they want to apply it to a “future” appointment!! Good Lord! Don’t go through my nightmare, just don’t even sign up with this company!!

Terrible. On my first attempt, they cancelled with less than an hour before my scheduled time. They state they will not cancel with less than 4 hours notice, which is apparently not true. When I was able to reschedule, their worker broke my bed.. twice. The second time ruining it. I called to get a replacement while he was supposedly calling Handy. He stated that someone would be contacting me within 24 hours and I would have 2 workers next time. No one reached out. I decided to get a refund. It took weeks to figure out how to manage this as there is no direct way. They initially would not do a refund and tried to just offer to have 1 worker come out, which I declined and finally got told I could have a refund, but it is going to take 3-4 weeks to get. When I told them this was unacceptable and kept pointing out how it was their worker who ruined my bed and I should not have to wait over a month for even the most simplistic result, they continued to refuse any sort of actual help or compensation. Finally, they told me I was banned from the service. I had no intention of ever using them anyway, but the fact their answer to solve the problem is to withhold my money and ban me without any consequences for the person who caused all this to start just shows how unprofessional they are. After multiple exchanges, nothing has been resolved. This is truly a horrible service.

Unreliable, bad service. I booked a cleaner to help me get my house ready to list for sale at 8am. I took off of work, sent my two and four year olds to the grandparents, and had my realtor coming at 3pm to take photos for the listing. There was 0 communication from handy in the days leading up to the booking checking if I had any needs or questions, or confirming/reminding me of the appointment. It never told me exactly who was coming to my house either. Then at 7am on the day of the appointment, I got an text that their “pro” had called off at the last minute. They had automatically rescheduled my appointment for 8am on Easter Sunday. I told them this wouldn’t work and I needed someone today. They couldn’t provide anyone, so they gave me a $10 credit, and refunded the $241 for the cleaning as credits to my handy account rather than to my bank account. I had to ask them again and they did finally refund to my bank. You can only email them never call. The app says to expect a response within minutes but it’s more like hours or days and the auto response says they’re having longer than expected response times. Truly terrible. The icing on the cake was the bot that rescheduled me for Easter morning. Facepalm. My experience was so poor, I will never use this service again. Handy had a few chances to make things right when things didn’t work out, and made the wrong choice every time.

Badly run business do not use!!. First off it’s impossible to cancel your subscription so if you’re not 100% sure definitely do not sign up for one. I signed up for six months of cleaning because I’ve been working a lot and haven’t had the energy to clean lately. Every single time there has been a problem. From late cleaners, to cleaners getting lost, to being canceled on last minute. This past time a woman never showed up to my house but they still charged me because they said that she was “in the area” she never rang my door though. And she made up a lie that a man told her to get out and no one by name lives there when my full name is literally the first name on the mailbox? So anyways I emailed for a refund and they said sure just reschedule and we will only charge you for that one so I did. And I ended up paying for both. They refused to issue a refund for the first woman even though that is what they offered. After back and forth emailing for two weeks straight they finally offered me 50% back. Wow. Thanks a lot. I paid for a woman to come to the “area” never make it to my actually address and then make up a story about a scary man who told her to leave. So then I tried to cancel and like I said at first, nope it’s impossible. Don’t get involved with this company. There are way better more well-run companies in Chicago.

Workers and time issues. I have used the cleaning services about 8 times and at least 5 of those times the workers have been late to show up or try to cancel last minute. It’s very inconvenient when you are relying on the cleaning services for an event or holiday or when you are planning on guests staying at your place and the cleaners are unreliable. Twice now last minute cleaners have tried to cancel and/or reschedule last minute when that just wouldn’t work for my schedule. This last time they tried cancelling/rescheduling due to “car issues” and when I submitted that on the app so I could get a refund we got attitude back from the worker stating now they had to pay the company money because we submitted that they couldn’t come at the time requested and my husband had to go to work so we couldn’t reschedule for a later time. I feel for them but then again if I were to cancel and not say it was the worker that cancelled/was late and asked us to reschedule I would get charged for having no services done in a time when I needed it. And I’m sorry but it’s not my fault the company makes the workers pay when they want to cancel or reschedule last minute and arrive hours late. Overall it’s just not reliable enough for those who have busy schedules and jobs and need services during specific times.

Read FB reviews and BBB profile FIRST!. I made the mistake of falling for their bright and shiny ads on FB, lured me right in. Big mistake, I never read the reviews before hand. So I jumped right in, agreed to a 6 month service.. (you’ll be charged a large fee to cancel before then). It’s been five days since I signed up. I still don’t have a cleaner assigned to my appointment in two days. Little did I know, these “professionals” are NOT trained employees with an organized business but basically like Uber but for house cleaning. There’s zero commitment from the cleaners to pick up your cleaning request appointment. And if no one shows, the company will tell you sorry bout that how bout a discount for your next service, or so I’ve read. I’ll find out for certain IF someone actually shows this week. This business is not what they advertise. They are not like Merry Maids. Do yourself the favor and read the real reviews before falling for their “cheaper” prices. ALSO, their customer service has NO phone number. I’ve emailed them five times with my concerns and no one has yet to contact me. If no one shows and I’m still charged, I will be filing a fraud case with my credit union. #APPLE, you need to investigate for yourself and stop supporting these crooks on your AppStore!!!

Complete Fraud!! No one shows up, but you still have to pay to cancel.. So far in the 6 weeks I have used Handy, not a single scheduled appointment has shown up for the actual booking date. They magically ALL have had an emergency 30 minutes before the scheduled time and cancel. (Please know, more than one week there were 2 cancellations in the SAME week) Then the service rescheduled to another day only to have that person cancel as well. Or reschedule for 2 days before the next scheduled cleaning. When someone finally showed, he spoke zero English. (Was a good worker and very nice, could only communicate through google translate) There is ZERO support. You can only Email, and they do not call you back. After being incredibly frustrated week after week, i asked why there was no phone support, they said they didn’t offer it. They will however, charge $99 to cancel a service that they have yet to provide. I’m more frustrated with the amount of time I’ve spent planning a day to be home only for no one to show up. They told me today, that everyone is an independent contractor, they can cancel anytime they want. There is no way to tell if someone is actually in my area on the day I book it, or even if they live near here. Meaning if they pick up 2 jobs on the other side of town this one gets cancelled. I have no idea how this company has been allowed to take advantage of customers like this.

Terrible Customer Service. Future customers spend your money elsewhere! The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the first time I used Handy’s cleaning service I was living in a different city and had no issues. Now that I’ve moved I decided to try using them again but it has been a horrible experience. I booked a cleaning pro for my home and when the day came I got a notification 1hr prior saying that the pro had to cancel last minute. I was then rescheduled for the following Monday. This time the pro simply never showed up but marked the job complete on the app 30mins past the scheduled appt time. I informed Handy and they just rescheduled me for the upcoming Friday with a $10 credit. Now Friday comes and once again an hr before the cleaning I get a cancellation notice with a reschedule to the following Monday. I was then fed up and wrote to customer service only to be just given another $10 credit to shut up. It seems that Handy’s approach to every complaint is to give you $10 however that’s not going to work with me. How about you actually provide a real response after finding the root cause to 3 consecutive cancellations. If there is limited pro availability in my new city then don’t offer the service here, it’s simple!

Good Concept - TERRIBLE Customer Service. I randomly had a house cleaner show up at my home at 7:00am. I didn’t schedule it, but looked on the app and it was charging me for her. I didn’t know what to do, and Handy DOESN’T EVEN HAVE A PHONE NUMBER you can call for support. So, I stood with this lady in my kitchen while we both sent emails to them (it said for urgent matters they would respond ASAP). They didn’t respond for 9 hours!!!! Plus, they won’t refund my money, will only give me a credit. Other issue is that I had a very skeptical girl come clean my house. She showed up 1.5 hours late telling me it’s because she “had a bad dream”. She acted like she was on drugs and made me feel very uncomfortable. She sat in my kitchen eating her lunch for a while, and kept giving me her business cards and telling me Handy rips her off, etc. I was too nervous to leave a bad rating and review since this girl knows where I live. I emailed Handy and told them I would rather give them my experience over the phone instead. They never called me! Then, to make matters worse, I requested a different person the next time, and guess who they switched it to? Yep, she came back. Same sorry...late, odd behavior, etc. If you find a good one, they aren’t around for long because Handy takes too big of a cut.

Worker. As someone who worked for them it is a horrible set up for both customer and worker but not for them. You do not get a number to call so if you have an issue on the job you send an email and do not get a response to 3 hours later. If a move runs over you must ask the customer to add time on the app but the problem is most customers do not set up work through the app or are unaware the f how to use the app. So basically if you work over time that’s given you are not paid for your work and they have no answer for except thank you for your work. Instead of simply contacting the customer and asking do they want the worker to continue working or stop within time. There only response is to leave when the time is up not only does it make you look unprofessional it also leaves the customer with an unfinished job. They also take 40$ if you have to cancel a move. If you show up and the customer is no where you’re expected to wait 30 minutes. It is the worst app system I’ve ever seen.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!. They sent someone on the wrong date to my house and not only that but the cleaner who showed up was not who I requested. I have been trying to get in touch with them for over 48 hours now and have had NO SUCCESS. They responded upon my initial inquiry with an email in which they had offered to let me speak with someone by phone. I wrote back saying I wanted to talk to someone by phone and since then (2 days ago) I have heard NOTHING back. This whole experience has been EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING and fairly stressful. They have already charged me for the cleaning which did not take place and I am now waiting to see if I’ll ever get my house cleaned or if I’ll get a refund on that incorrect date (their error). I HATE THAT THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER. It’s also an outrage that when you click their “bad experience, let us make it right ” link it asks you why you were unsatisfied with your cleaning professional! As if to assume it’s automatically the cleaning professional’s fault that I’m having a bad experience. There’s nowhere to click to express a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with the app/ it’s customer service team. UNBELIEVABLE. I will certainly cancel my account ASAP. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 is because I feel sorry for the cleaning people. The guy who cleaned my house was ok (not great TBH).

Horrible. I had been hospitalized so I needed someone to clean my house. I told them on my first request that I had travertine floors and they had to You special cleaner. The woman who came used Fabuloso. I had to pay another company $600 to clean and reseal my floors. I did try to complain to the company however there is no phone number anywhere. And emails were not returned. And the rest of the cleaning was not that great. She did not even pick things up (toothbrush holder, soap dish)she just cleaned around them leaving a dust mark to show her incompetence. My 15-year-old son cleans better than this. Then they came out a second time because they said I couldn’t cancel since they didn’t get my message within a certain timeframe. Lies. And that Woman was very nice but she also did not do a good job cleaning. I could see dirt in the corners in my bathroom, my microwave wasn’t cleaned, etc. it really was unacceptable cleaning both times so I canceled my debit card. so they cannot charge me again...since they don’t want to respond. Don’t use this company if you’d like things to be cleaned properly, they are cleaning guarantee well they get around that by not answering your emails and email is the only way you can contact them. This is the only time I’ve ever left a bad review, because it was really bad.

Awful Customer Service. Handy does not deliver what they advertise, and are unwilling to work with their customers to make it right. My first appointment they rescheduled at the last minute - which was detrimental seeing as it was a home move out cleaning and we had to be out of the house that day with it complete cleaned. The second appointment we asked the handyman to hang our blinds. He hung all of them crooked, left holes in our walls where he messed up, and refused to fix them when we asked. The next person to clean our house only swept and didn’t do anything else. He also broke a huge mirror of ours. The next two times the professional didn’t bring a vacuum, even though we stated we have three dogs. They also left early both times. We FINALLY got a professional we liked last time. We marked him as our favorite and I made sure he was assigned to our next cleaning. Lo and behold, at the very last minute they switched it to a different professional. As I write this he is late to showing up. After each incident I contacted handy to try and get out of our contract since they have YET TO DELIVER ON THEIR SERVICES. Each time I was told I would have to pay $99 to cancel - even though I have now spent almost $1000 on services that have NOT BEEN AS ADVERTISED. The least I can do is warn anyone else - do not use handy!

Charged for cleaning my own house. Initially the first 2 people who cleaned my home were pretty good. However, during the last month, I have had three incidents where I was charged but my house was not cleaned appropriately. One time the person became suddenly ill, but I was charged anyway. I had to contact handy to get a refund. They did respond immediately and I was issued a refund within 3 days. Another time, the person arrived and left a full hour early and I still had to dust and do other cleanings because it was incomplete. Today, the person allegedly showed up about 45 minutes early. They claimed there was no one home- in reality there was someone home to open the door. I am now being told that “as per policy” they can only refund half of my fee because the person set aside time to clean my home. So I should pay you for not cleaning my house, for stating that you arrived when it is absolutely impossible that occurred because there was someone home?! I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted- basically I just paid someone so that I can come home after a long week at work and clean my own home. And I signed a 3 month contract so now I can’t cancel u til the 3 months are up. I cannot wait until They are done because I am Absolutely done with this! This is the second time that I have tried handy and had challenges. Absolutely do not use them!

Handy is CRAP!. If I could it zero star, I would. First, I booked my first service ever on the app and after I got my confirmation # poof!!! they sent me a coupon for 15% off for my first booking. Great that will do me now, guys. Then on the day they were due to come they texted me one hour before they were due to come to say that they rescheduled my appointment. I was mad, I feel like I should charge you $15 for canceling my appointment less than 24 hours. So I cancelled the appointment. They had the nerve to put my refund money on their credit account, so i could use it for future bookings. Really!!!! You did not even show up for my first appointment. What makes you think I want to do business with you ever again. So, as read on, I saw I could put my refund back on my credit card, so I did and they stiff me $.90. I am annoyed because I feel silly arguing for less than $1. So you guys could keep the $.90 and that one star rating as donation. You are going to need it, because unless you change how you run your business it will not last long, Also, it is bulls**t that we have to pay before the job is done, I never heard of a company do that. Also, no phone number to complaint, but now I understand because everyone would be calling. You are horrible!!!

They steal your money then go radio silent. I never leave reviews, but I’m really frustrated with this company and had only used them since I was encouraged about their 4 star rating on the App Store. I scheduled a one time deep clean service and was never matched with a pro, so my cleaning never happened on the scheduled date. They rescheduled it to a few days later and then same thing, I never got matched with anyone then they moved it to two days later again. After this happening twice I didn’t want to wait around for it to happen for a third time, so I told them it was too late and I wanted a refund. Then they moved my service back a day earlier and I told them no, I don’t want it a day earlier I just want a refund. When they canceled this third booking (which I never asked them to schedule for me) I got charged a $15 cancellation fee! When I wrote customer service and asked for a refund they told me they’d give me credits. When I wrote back I wanted a refund and not credits, they said I’d receive my refund within 3-5 business days. It never happened and now no one is answering any of my emails (though when I was scheduling I’d get answers within minutes!) and I’m disputing the charges with my credit card company. Dodge this service entirely, they are untrustworthy and a waste of time and money.

Handy Review. While my pro did a good job, I was disappointed in the overall experience. I scheduled to have my children’s swing set assembled, the first appointment I paid for two hours, the gentleman could not finish and explained it was a two person job. I really liked how well he worked, so I asked if we could schedule again and how many hours, he said two, so I scheduled another two hour job and notated that it would take two people. The gentleman arrived promptly on the second appointment and began to work, but rather than two hours, it would take him four and a half hours, and he still didn’t finish due to nightfall. The gentleman explained that the company was supposed to assign a second person whom never showed up, and he would have to come back. I asked if I could schedule him again he said yes and it would only take 30 minutes to an hour to finish. However, I would later have to compensate the pro for the extended time( understandably). I didn’t realize that I would end up paying a total of $533 in total so far and the job is still not complete. I had to cancel the third appointment because it was for a minimum of two hours and it will only take thirty minutes and daylight to finish. The swing-set did not cost as much as I’ve paid for the service.

Awful experience. The “pro” showed up to do the job, took one look, and said he couldn’t install the light because the ceiling was too high. I had put in the note when booking exactly how tall the ceiling is. He left without doing anything, and I was still charged for the full service. We also booked a painting service. The “pro” got paint on the carpet and the staircase in our new house. Carpet will have to be replaced. He did not even come close to finishing, and shadily requested we pay him via zelle for him to come back to finish the job. He spent three more full days, which he billed us hourly for, and the painting of the two small rooms is still unfinished. There is no way this could have taken this long unless he was literally just sitting up there watching paint dry, knowing he was being paid hourly. When I submitted a help request, I was refunded 30% of the paint job. Considering I now have to pay for new carpet, I am still out $400 plus whatever it is going to cost to fix the painted carpet. I was only refunded 30% of the light fixture installation as well, even though literally nothing was done during that booking. Oh and the “refunds” are credits toward another handy booking, which are useless because I will never be using this app again.

DONT USE THIS AT ALL. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY PERIOD. I recently bought a greenhouse through wayfair and did the “expert assembly” because it seemed easier. My first appointment, a dude showed up and asked where the other professional was…. I didn’t know there were two people who had to come for the job… and he left. I had to reschedule a week later and two people came and did the work. My bad actually. They did half the work because Handy has a 4 hour time limit apparently. So I had to get another appointment and the same problem happened as the first one. The worker even told me that Handy was a scam and to never use it again! I had to reschedule for two days later (still waiting for this) and I specifically requested for two professionals. Only one popped up on my app and i had to go back to their stupid customer service to let them know. The guy told me that two professional will be there by tm and I just need to wait. Bottom line, this company makes everything long and tedious. I’m doubt they will give me a refund and I can’t even call them BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER!!! THEY KNOW PEOPLE WILL COMPLAIN SO THEY DONT HAVE A NUMBER. HANDY IF U READ THIS U CAN IMPROVE UR TRASH SERVICE BY ACTUALLY MAKING A NUMBER THAT CUSTOMERS CAN REACH YOU AT. Just don’t use them at all! After this greenhouse is built, I promise u I will never use this app ever again!

A lesson in letting strangers in your home. We tried this service and the first cleaning “professional” who came to our home was weird and made us uncomfortable. I tried to change cleaners, but they sent the person I didn’t want anyway. Not to mention they charged me a fee for changing cleaners, meanwhile the change was never processed. When her time was up she wouldn’t leave the house. We got upset with her that she refused to leave and she started yelling at us that we don’t appreciate all the work she did and she pulled out her phone and started recording the interaction. She said she records everything during her cleanings. It took us five minutes to get her to leave and she left and called the cops on US. Next thing we know we have cops in our home searching for something that was not there. It was an absurd and intense experience that happened around our child. Handy gave us a full refund and supposedly fired this lunatic. When we explained the situation and sent pictures of something the cleaning lady broke they wouldn’t reimburse us without proof of purchase. Which is bullsh*t because it was a gift we received a few years ago. Thanks for nothing, Handy. Your background check is a joke and you’re letting people who need mental help into your customer’s homes. Don’t trust strangers in your home. Period. Lesson learned.

Does not stand behind their service, steals your money,. Beware: when scheduling a cleaning you are not “booking” a cleaner. You are asking that a cleaner will pick up your job. The “booking confirmed” email doesn’t actually mean what it says. If no cleaner picks up your job, no cleaner is showing up. But the app never tells you no one has picked up your job. Big party? Airbnb turnover? Good luck. Their “help” line is an email address (or snail mail. HA!) where a new person responds every time you message them. You have to re-explain the issue every time in the hopes that whoever will respond gets your issue and will help. Which they didn’t. A $10 credit does not make up for the fact that my rental wasn’t going to be cleaned and the only way I found out was that I checked the app 2 hrs prior to make sure I had booked a cleaning. Additionally, they rescheduled the cleaning that wasn’t going to happen for a later date. I canceled my membership prior to this cleaning, but was still billed the $140 bucks for it! Again, the only way I realized that canceling my membership did not cancel the cleaning was that I got a notification 2 hrs before that the cleaning was going to start... at the house where I had Airbnb guests at the moment. This app is just a glorified dating service that matches you to a potential cleaner. No guarantee of service or reliability. And good luck trying to get a refund.

I should’ve learned my lesson before…. I had a horrible time with this app last year. I was living in Washington state, and I could only ever get one house cleaner in particular to show up for booked jobs. The rest would not show up, not reply to my messages, and one guy even started the job and collected the money but never showed up to my apartment. I swore never to use this app again, never. Then, my husband and I moved back to Denver, and I am finding myself needing cleaning services once a month again, but all of the local cleaning companies here are incredibly expensive, and I just don’t trust any of the other apps because of my previously bad experiences with this one. Well, I got an email to receive a one time cleaning at a set price, and I thought surely there’s no harm here, I’m not locking myself into a plan. Well… I am sitting here as I type, messaging the housecleaner 30 minutes later, asking if she’s going to show up. I have already emailed and asked for a refund, and hopefully they will comply this time since I am not locked into a contract. I’m just mind-blown at how unreliable the Handy cleaners are how difficult the app has been historically, especially if you are locked into a contract and then getting screwed over by the cleaners not showing up. The one cleaner who did show up for me was amazing, and I was sure to tip her incredibly well every time. This really is the last time…

If you’re looking to make money beware. I tried this app because I figure it would be a good way to make income. I have over 20 years experience in renovating and repairing expertise. The jobs you get, you don’t have a choice as to a location(the jobs are all over GA), they show up and if you don’t claim them in a matter of seconds you lose out. The app makes the majority of the money, most jobs you will get are $30,$40,$50 jobs max $90. With the $30 jobs you’re building or setting up bed frames or desks or dressers(I once saw a pool table set up for $40!!!) That’s ridiculous! With $90 jobs you’re doing a lot of repairs. Maybe 3 or 4 different jobs. This is not a way to provide for your family. It’s a way to earn small side money. The creators should check and verify whether the pricing matches the customers description of the jobs because whoever joins this must understand you are waaay underpaid. The $90 job I did should have been minimum $350!!! But once you are booked (if you put open availability) if you cancel you get charged $20,$40,or more dollars depending on how long of a cancellation you give. The good thing is that you earn some money (not much) and can possibly build clientele if that’s what you’re looking to do.

This app is a SCAM!!!. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Gave one star because could not give a zero. Awful service!!! Would never recommend Handy to anybody. Professionals picked to do cleaning service, based on good reviews, always cancelled at the last minute and someone without experience would take the booking and do an awful job that I still had to pay $118 for. Profiles of the “professionals” with good reviews seem fake. If a booking was cancelled by the client based on the change made by Handy at the last minute of the same booking date, on having a professional without experience do the service, there would be a $15 fee for cancelling within 24 hours of the booking. After letting Handy know about the bad cleaning experiences had from these inexperienced professionals, the “service satisfaction guarantee” from Handy was to reimburse me $20 just one time for awful services I paid $118 for. Customer service is the worst. There is no phone number to get in contact with, only an email which you have to wait for a response. They even have a membership cancellation fee of $99, billed no matter if you are dissatisfied with the services. The Handy app is a scam with lots of hidden fees that only benefit Handy. Again, the Handy app is a SCAM and it should be notified to all those considering to have a membership with not to fall on it.

Do not use Handy! I wish I didn’t have to give them one star!. This is the first review I have ever written, so that should indicate the level of dissatisfaction I have with this company. I booked a pro through the Costco website (Handy must have a contract with Costco for assembly jobs) to mount our brand new 65’ tv to our wall. The pro cracked the screen while he was putting it up. I know accidents happen and I was expecting a quick resolution and replacement of my broken tv through Handy. I filed a claim report the day it happened (over a week ago), sent pictures, proof of purchase, and have called almost everyday to see if I could talk to someone in the claims department. I was told there was no way for me to get in touch with the claims department and that my case had been “escalated” and that I would hear from someone in the claims department by the end of this week. No one from claims has called or emailed. I did receive calls from people who have told me nothing useful except that they can’t put me in touch directly with claims. This morning I got an email saying now that they have not received my claim. Just how dysfunctional is this place ???? I called Costco and they are replacing my tv for free and who knows if I’ll ever hear from Handy, the company that actually should be replacing it. Costco-cancel your agreement with this company!!!

Do not under any circumstance use this service. I made the grave mistake of signing up for a six month subscription to Handy. So far, I have had five of the six cleanings, and all five have required me to exchange between 4 to 16 emails or calls with the company trying to retrieve money that they have overcharged me. They will fight you every step of the way trying to convince you that their false charges are correct. They are extremely reluctant to refund you the money that you are owed. They will either tack on extra services you don’t want to increase the bill or raise the hourly rate without any notice or reason. Cherry on top? Once you think you’ve sorted out your issue - after 10 or so emails - with one of their near useless customer service representatives, they will then set you up with a new customer service rep who has no idea what the issue is and will then recommence trying to convince you that you are not owed money that they have robbed you of. Presumably this is to discourage customers and increase their chances of successful theft. I have reported this company to the Better Business Bureau, as refusing to return owed funds to the customer is somewhere between theft and a scam. Save yourself the time, effort, money, and frustration and turn to literally any other cleaning service out there.

Horrible experience. Do not use this service! I have scheduled numerous times. Every time, I make sure I’m home in time for the scheduled cleaning. I consistently get a message that the pro cancelled. Yet, the pro was never assigned. It’s extremely frustrating and ties up your schedule. Today. They assigned a pro and after an hour of waiting she was a no-show. This was the second time this has happened. I don’t usually give a negative review, but this is outrageous. They either cancel at the last minute, day of, so you have zero time to get someone else to clean and it’s usually when you have an event and you’re counting on your house being cleaned. If that doesn’t happen, they schedule a pro and the pro never shows up. I called the pro and she knew nothing about it. This entire company is poorly managed. They think giving a $10 discount for their constant mistakes and poor management will replace the time you wait and the predicament they put you in when they cancel at the last minute. I’m reasonable. I understand that things happen. I’ve given them many chances because I run a business a know that people are not dependable. This is outrageous. Unless you have a leisurely schedule and lots of time, don’t bother with this service. You’ll consistently get a false email saying g the pro cancelled at the last minute when in fact a pro was never assigned.

Less than one star. I’ve used Handy numerous times albeit with problem after problem with their software. They don’t publish a customer service phone number so it’s quite frustrating to say the very least when an issue arises. I was recently erroneously charged because I rescheduled a housekeeper booking so I emailed their customer service department and received a response that was unbelievable in that I will have to pay full price at $153 when and if I reschedule. I was able to convince the CSR that I wouldn’t allow that to happen as it is tantamount to fraud, he agreed and said I would have a refund in 3-5 days, well I didn’t receive the refund so I disputed the charge with my bank. Another issue is the “cancel” button on their application, it doesn’t work! The pro is still dispatched! Then there’s an issue with pros not showing up when scheduled with less than 30 minutes before they’re confirmed! On that occasion I was allegedly given a 10 buck credit to my account yet I never received it. Currently I’m trying to reschedule a pro that I booked through Wayfair to assemble a product I ordered. The date and time that Handy rescheduled evidently cannot be rescheduled! So I’m having to cancel it with Wayfair. My best advice is Handy is anything BUT handy. They’re lack of customer service is alarming and the consumer complaints endless. Avoid them at all costs!!!

Horrible way to do business. My first appointment was rescheduled due to a pro calling off... one hour before my Appointment. You’re charged $100 of you cancel but if they cancel they just throw u a $10 credit and barely an apology. My first pro was 30 min late and didn’t do half the things I had asked and listed. I couldn’t cancel bc I signed for 6 months and they charge $100 to cancel which is ridiculous. My most recent appointment was a joke. The pro said he showed up and that I never answered. No one rang my doorbell and when he did contact me it was 30 minutes after our scheduled time and I had to leave for work. After going back and forth with customer service for days they finally rescheduled my cleaning. Then they rescheduled AGAIN! Only one hour prior to my appointment. This experience has been nothing short of a headache and constant disappointment. I told them I was done with their cleaners bc it’s too unreliable and i would like to trade for one of their handy men to come fix something for me. They said no and they would only give me 50% of my money back. I am a general manager at a restaurant and I would never dream of treating paying customers like this. I’ve already spent a few hundred dollars and have nothing to show for it but two unsatisfactory cleanings and a ton of rescheduling in their end. To think I was going to have my family sign up! They would have been so upset with me getting locked into this horrible company.

Beware!. I put in a request for some yard work. I was provided one person and from his description i gathered he was not a lawn care person but more of a tile/carpentry guy. I decided to just go ahead and book him as my job was weeding and didn’t require an expert although it led me to believe this organization doesn’t have many pros to pick from. Then 5 minutes before his Friday morning scheduled arrival time he cancelled and Handy sent me a notice that they could have someone there on Monday. And then there was a ‘cancel booking’ button. I decided I would just weed the yard myself over the weekend. I thought that was the end of it until Sunday night I noticed I had a notification that a different pro was scheduled to show up Monday. Since I had cancelled the booking I was like “what the hell?” So again there was a cancel button on the app. So again I clicked “cancel booking”. Again I didn’t think anymore of it until some dude shows up at my house Monday morning to pull weeds. I had already done the work and cancelled the booking so I told him to leave that I was sorry and that I had cancelled the booking and he should have been notified. Bottom line: handy charged my credit card $83 and told me sorry there was a misunderstanding and that I could have a $10 credit on my next booking. Sorry Handy, there won’t be a next booking and I’m going to fight this. I strongly urge you to not use this app or their services.

Horrible. If I could give it a zero, I would. I ordered some furniture from Wayfair, had clicked on for someone to install it. It is the handyman service, OK great they’re going to come do it on Christmas, thought that was a little suspicious, but they work on Christmas. 1215 came and my appointment was at 12, I called guys like I’m running late. OK no big deal it’s Christmas. I throw him a bone. 1230 somebody comes are like hey I’m here to install your dresser now, I had two guys coming one for a bed one for a dresser. OK the guys here for the dresser no big deal got to start, he’s like oh I can do both and just get it done in one swoop. I’m like fine that’s great. Cancel the other guy. The guy is going to do the dresser and the bed. Comes at 12:30 does not get done until 630., Tells me he's an alcoholic and wants to know if he could Vape in my house. I’m like no. Then he parks in the wrong driveway and starts screaming at the neighbor, because he is parked in the wrong spot. He has very vulgar language, I’m so glad my daughter was not here to witness it. He was very rough with the materials, that I paid over $600 for and then at the end says I only get five. I’m like you only get $30 for five hours. That makes no sense, trying to tell me to cancel the other guy pay him what that would’ve been and then when I get my credit, Venmo him more money. Horrible will never do again in my life, there’s something to be said for ordering from a store!! DO not use the service!!

Charge first, figure out how later. I was looking to schedule for professional art hanging services asap due to my art dealer bailing on me last minute, leaving two giant pieces of arts in my place. I heard about Handy before and decided to give it a try. The “booking” process was quite smooth - I was able to basically pick whatever the time slot I want (kind of strange since I was expecting to see the other party’s availability). In the end I was prompted to pay for a confirmed booking two days later. I didn’t mind paying since I was led to believe that the appointment has been confirmed. Within the next 4 hours since my payment, I received 3 automated emails from Handy stating that “we are busy finding a pro”. So there was never a match - what happened simply was: I submitted my project, paid, and Handy is still scratching its head trying to find someone who may or may not be qualified to handle my job. I quickly went to another professional service booking platform that swiftly connected me to a real service vendor and confirmed the booking and pricing. So I went ahead and canceled my booking with Handy, and without being given an option, the refund was processed as Store Credit, followed by an email containing a button with size 4 fonts stating “refund to card”. Of course I wanted the money back instead of your credit. And to only offer this option in a follow up email is simply laughable, shady, and desperate. Bye Handy.

Buyer Beware!. I am happy with the Joss & Main product I received, but would never book through Handy again. The scheduling process was easy, but then the contractor showed up without the correct tools to do the job (after calling & asking to come a half hour late) and then left. I received no communication from Handy, other than a notification that my job was complete (?!?). I would have liked to call Customer Service, but they have no phone number (?!?), so I attempted to use the app to chat. My first chat session was cut off & then for an hour, when I hit the “chat” button, I got a message that said “we are currently not online”. So, I attempted to email through the app & received no response (though it says they will get back to you in minutes). When I was finally able to get through on chat, they told me they could begin looking at rescheduling 72 hours out. No offer to compensate me for the morning I took off for the install. So, unfortunately, I just had them cancel the service & asked for a refund. I have received an email stating service has been cancelled, but that I can “reschedule for no add’l charge” if I do it within 24 hours. Nothing mentioned about a refund, so I’m sure that’s going to be another chat session. Save yourself the trouble & hire someone local!

First review - I felt obligated. I purchased a bi-weekly cleaning service through Handy, and the first impression was not unsatisfactory, or insufficient at the least it was simply non-existent. First impressions are everything in the app services industry, and quite frankly I think I have to label Handy a Scam. I was charged for a service that was simply not delivered. The cleaning “professional” was scheduled to arrive and on tracking their arrival they just seemed to never move on the map. So I waited, and waited and then discovered (without any notification) that the pro just did not arrive, just simply matter of fact. There was no, we will refund or rectify this misunderstanding just, hey we charged you and didn’t deliver, so hey that’s totally ok right. I tried to reach the professional directly and the number was inactive, super helpful. I tried to find a number to call directly, this does not exist. I reached out multiple times on their forms, which state upon receiving the request they will reach out within “minutes.” If by minutes they mean never than that’s accurate. Either way, I do give businesses the benefit of the doubt and I never write negative reviews because I believe mistakes happen, and they should have an opportunity to rectify the situation, but that ship has sailed. I will be cancelling my services immediately, if I can get anyone to respond back.

Awful communication and customer service. This is my first time purchasing “professional“ help in mounting my TV on the wall. I quote the word, professional because there was nothing professional about it. I had to reschedule my appointment twice and not buy my choice each time to handyman we’re supposed to come out because it’s a big job and only one showed up both times when I called and actually spoke to somebody with the handyman customer service, I was constantly transferred around asked for simple information multiple times, and when I explained what happened to the last individual, they told me that I would have to reschedule another appointment for them to mount my TV on the wall. At this point, I was furious and wanted to speak to a supervisor so I could cancel and get refunded the amount I paid for this “professional” service. I am still waiting for the supervisor to call me back, which I know I will never get a call. The last individual that I spoke with from customer service was extremely rude and I will never use handyman again. I’d rather have my nine and 10-year-old do the job because they are more professional than this handyman. Signing out and deleting my account with them immediately after this.

Extremely bad experience, bad company. Handy seems like the answer to all homeowners, apartment dwellers and anyone who isn’t handy and just needs a little help around the house. Let me be clear: IT IS NOT. I bought a package of three 3-hour cleanings for my new 3 bed/2 bath owner’s unit spread across two floors. When the gal got here, she said her instructions via the app were to clean the first floor, which was designated a 1 bed/1 bath (it is not). She said she doesn’t get paid by the hour, only by the scope of the place, showed me how much she’s gets (only 30% of the billing), so the other floor didn’t end up getting cleaned. LET ME ALSO BE CLEAR: I put the blame squarely on Handy. They sold me something that could have never been carried out as promised based on the way the company contracts with service workers. When I reported the issue to Handy (via email bc they ONLY communicate to this way with customers) they offered me a $5 refund for a bill that was hundreds of dollars. And my final point: Handy’s own site references something called “The Happiness Guarantee” and that if the service / experience wasn’t up to par they’d “make it right.” I don’t call $5 making it right. Neither do I think Handy’s customer service actually cares bc they still have not responded to my latest email. I was sold a bill of goods. DON’T make the same mistake as me.

Good but misleading. This is a good app. I have airbnbs and a back up cleaning source for my house and business is not a bad idea. A few things I did not realize before. When you sign up you are enrolled into a recurring plan which can be weekly, biweekly, or monthly clean or you can schedule a clean on an isolated occasion. So I scheduled a weekly clean. If for whatever reason you want to stop using the app, it charges you $99 to not keep your commitment for 6 months. Also if you schedule a cleaning and then remove it from the calendar it keeps the charges into the system to use it for another time. So you are obligated to use the money on their platform. From the cleaner’s standpoint, they are not paid high almost half of what we pay. It is a service job and does provide consistency and security but the pay is not great. Cannot reveal what they said but they used strong words. All in all I was happy to start using this app but watch out for all the catches they get you. My recommendation do not sign up for recurring cleanings or subscriptions. Do not book well in advance as they will take your money and you are forced to use it on their platform. Cleaner’s review and communication is good.

COVID!!. I used this service to book an appointment to have a TV stand I’d purchased at Walmart, assembled. I should add that, this service was booked for me, when I bought the TV stand on Walmart’s website, and I’d already paid the $80 service fee. The guy who eventually showed up to my apartment, was wearing a mask as was I. BUT, about 30 minutes into his working on the stand, I noticed he’d taken off his mask! So I said, “Sir, are you vaccinated?” At that moment, his entire demeanor and behavior towards me completely changed. He replied “No, I’m not vaccinated, I don’t believe in that!”. Literally, my heart almost stopped! I politely said “Sir, please keep your mask on”. He said “I can’t wear a mask I have asthma”!! So, for 2 hours, I sat in terror, while he worked. When he was done, I checked to make sure the stand was working. It completely was not. So I asked him to please set it up correctly. He refused and left. Two days later, I was charged an additional $100 for his “service”! I called Walmart, but it got me nowhere. And you obviously cannot call Handy. So, PLEASE NOTE: in addition to all others complaints, some of these guys are unvaccinated & will reuse to wear a mask!! How is Handy even legal! They are sending unvaccinated folks to your home!! SHAME ON YOU HANDY! Just complete & utter SHAME! You WILL be sued by someone soon.

You really need patience and vigilance. All of the negative reviews are spot on accurate with what you will experience. And yes I find myself not able to cancel unless I forfeit ~$90. So I changed cleaning to weekly hoping they can find someone to come and clean. Each week I go through one of these 2 scenarios. Either Handy reschedules until they issue a credit for the service or, and this has only happened twice within a few months, I have a scheduled cleaning person and they don’t show. The vigilance part is you need to text, call, and report straight away. I have always received my $ back thus far but would really like to have my house cleaned. I do see help wanted signs everywhere due to Covid so certain Handy is struggling as well. I’m glad I always get a refund. Maybe by the time my contract is up next year I will have found a cleaning person. Wish me luck. Handy should allow cancellation without fees of contract if no cleaner available after a few months. The constant struggle was not what was agreed upon when signing the contract. Follow up. I received a reply email from Handy apologizing and requested to please send my complaint to an email for assistance. I did. The reply was in short “sorry for the inconvenience but you agreed to the contract and will be billed the $90 if you cancel before your annual contract is up”.

Do not use this app! It’s a scam.. I signed up for Handy for home cleaning services - the way it’s pitched to you is that you’re matched with a cleaner, and that they are vetted. This person then is the same cleaner you work with for however long you sign up for. For my first month, I was surprised when a person that was not my assigned cleaner showed up. I was told the regularly scheduled person was busy, which is strange bc they booked for the job so the only thing they should be busy with is this job. I let it go. The replacement did an ok job but I still had to clean up after they left. I ignored it thinking I’d get my regularly scheduled cleaner the next month. Except the same thing happened and when I told them it wasn’t professional, ok, or safe to send a stranger to my home, Handy handled it very poorly. I’m still trying to get someone to speak to me on the phone about it. Do NOT use this site - they oversell what they have to offer and ultimately don’t care if you’re not satisfied with the services or whether the folks signed up are professional or not. It’s a headache to connect with an actual person and you’re going to be stuck paying for services that were subpar or that you didn’t even get bc the Handy assigned to you is just not showing up as agreed.

Do not use this app. I wish I could give zero stars. They sent a guy to do a job and when he arrived he looked around my house took pictures of the job and told me he could not complete the job because he needed more supplies. He stated if he went to the store to buy supplies it would use all of the time I paid for. I offered to purchase supplies but he said I would probably get the wrong thing. He scheduled an appointment with me to come back two days later and did not show at the appointed time. He texted me an hour later and said he had car trouble and apologized. He rescheduled for two days later. Again he did not show. I made a complaint on the app and asked for a refund since the work was not done. They refused to refund my money because he said he showed up and left after 20 minutes and they had to pay for his time. I sent another correspondence saying I was not satisfied with their response, then they said they would not refund my money because the additional appointments he made with me were not on their platform and he was an independent contractor. I asked to speak to someone over the phone (that do not have their number listed as they prefer to communicate via email). When I was contacted by phone I was told they would not refund my money because it was my fault that I did not have the supplies the guy needed and the subsequent appointments were not made on their platform. DO NOT USE THIS APP. They have allowed this guy to scam me and will not refund my money!

Not a well thought out service. This app doesn’t correlate needed services to actual capabilities of service providers. I had bought two packages from Costco which included mounting of two separate TVs as well as running lines inside of walls. When the service provider arrived, which by the way was 2 1/2 hours late, they did not know how to run the wires in the walls. In addition to this, they didn’t know how to even attach the TV to the mounting bracket. I had to show them and actually use my own tools, and time to show them how to do it. Obviously this application does not do enough direct correlation and now I have to seek refundFrom Costco and at the same time pay the service provider separately for the work that he did actually do which was just mounting a single TV instead of two. It’s just going to be a rather unfortunate experience both for me, the provider, Costco and now handy as well. Update: I received a reply that states essentially, thank you for this reply and we want to help all you need to do is contact us. Seems so strange to me. I’ve just spend several minutes on your own internal feedback location (no one contacted me) and then again here on apple (which is public and now, they reach out). Speaks to the culture and real motivation. I won’t be using this service again until I hear from a trusted source it’s fundamentally changed it’s focus away from scaling and more toward quality

House cleaning. Well done.. Thanks

DO NOT USE. Handy has no intention of following through on any commitments. They will leave you in a bind if you rely on them for any services. Of course not before charging you for services not rendered. I cannot suggest strongly enough that you look elsewhere for services.

American only of course. Another app that is for Americans ONLY. It drives me absolutely crazy that there are so many apps like this and these phones can pinpoint my EXACT LOCATION but when I want to search for something, it brings up a bunch of places in Michigan but not any in Canada, because we live near a border. I wish they would say somewhere “For AMERICANS ONLY”

SL906. App is good.

Very useless to me. My appointment was automatically rescheduled twice without my consent - because the pro called off at the last minute. I will go with the the jiffy app

Very neat service!. I never knew this existed until I bought furniture on Wayfair which offered this company to put it together! Then I saw they have all kinds of services available!

Desk and Chair Assembly from Wayfair. Kareem was fantastic! He arrived on time and he was very neat with the leftover wrapping of the desk and chair. I highly recommend his assembly services.

Easy as 1, 2, 3. It was my first experience to use the app and I found it extremely easy to book appointments and reschedule. My guy was courteous, punctual and function with care. So for me it’s just as easy as 1, 2, 3… 1. Book appointment, 2 be there for the appointment, 3, enjoy the completely installed piece of furniture without breaking a sweat! Small price to pay for ease of mind.

Horrible Customer Service and poor workmanship. We used the Handy app for the first time today to fix a loose mailbox and to hang outdoor flower basket hooks. What should have been simple tasks turned into a nightmare. After taking 45 minutes to try and screw a bracket into an outdoor wall, the “pro” admitted he had no experience affixing things to to a stucco wall and admitted he damaged our wall. He turn offered to go get a stud finder to try again. He offered to try and fix the wall with a glue gun. He also was going to try and fix our mailbox that was loose. He took the anchor and screw and left the mailbox hanging sideways on our house. I had two acquaintances at our home at the time who witnessed the entire experience. One of the acquaintances recommended having the pro stop as he clearly did nit know that he was doing. I politely told him that I wanted someone who knew how to complete the tasks and contacted Handy. We received an auto response that indicated we would hear from Handy within 15 minutes. About four hours later, after I sent 8 emails, I received a damage claim form with no communication. I repeatedly asked to have a human being contact me to know avail. So now my mailbox is hanging sideways off my house, my stucco is damaged, the hooks aren’t up, and they charged me full price for work that wasn’t completed. DO NOT USE this App unless you are comfortable with poor workmanship, having your stucco damaged and absolutely no customer service. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Horrible app. Customer support is non existent. I made a booking with My Pro from his calendar and without notifying me they changed the handy man to unrated new person. Was so shocked to see a total stranger at my house. Never asked if I was ok to have this other person replace my selected pro. Have gotten no response from customer service. They took my money for a service with a person I did not want and have done nothing to correct this. Using Task Rabbit from now on. Beware!!

Not available in area - wasted my time and knew it. Said it covered Canada. I put in my postal code when it asked - then all the electrical work I needed. See up my time - and get to the end only for it to tell me “not available in your area we will let you know when it is”. No you won’t. NEXT

Very bad experience. It was a very bad experience they are layers no respect a time

Technician never showed up. Paid upfront. Technician never showed up. Appointment clearly says technician will come in a four hour window but the app blocks off your calendar for one hour only and then you can’t even monitor where the technician is at or contact them. Technician said his instructions on his app were also unclear. Like the idea of this app and like the quickness of the reply from the support desk after you log into website but the actual app needs work. That said, will not be booking through Handy again.

Awesome service!!!. I had to reschedule my appointment for assembly from the handyman 4 times due to purolator being the worst delivery service ever. That’s an entirely different story. However, my appt was for 330 pm. My tech arrive at 331 pm. I used the handi app to confirm entry details. He built my item under an hour and let me assess before he left. Overall, I was IMPRESSED. Not even a scratch or sheer bit of damage in my item. Thank you Wayfair!!!

Great people. I’ve never had a problem with any of the people who come into my house to build things. The people who come in are always kind quick and courteous in my home.

Ones the top service. I had the greatest experience using this service. My handy person was Adam M. And he was fabulous. He fixed the item I had requested and even sent me a video of it working.

Putting the desk together. Kevin and his fellow worker were able to come earlier then originally agreed and got the desk together in no time . They were polite and very neat in third job!

Hire anyone and give little training. Cleaners can hardly do the basics. Cleaners often don’t show. The instructions don’t get saved for following cleanings. Can’t leave pictures on how to clean on App. Very poor quality, very poor support, and very poor training. Need to fix, then it could be a great service.

Worst service. Extremely dissatisfied. My cleaning pro cancelled half an hour before the booking. I understand that things come up and cancellation may be necessary. BUT at least refund the cost to me?? I don’t need your credits. I want to get another cleaner and pay them that amount - not through your app. Handy doesn’t have a customer service phone line so there is no one you can talk to.

Can’t Wait to Cancel My Membership. This company has been a disappointment more than a success. Not one but two cancellations of “professionals” for the same month! Real Estate is coming this afternoon to shoot pictures to sell my home. I guess I’m doing my own house cleaning. Previous cleanings have been done by totally inexperienced people who have not done their job well and I’ve had to redo. I’ve had 2 people in 10 months who have been really good at what they do. That’s not good enough.

Impressed!. I am very pleased with the service from this app. I am impressed at how simple it is to update my service time and location. Overall I am very happy with Handy!

Great app!. Everything I need and a few things I didn’t even know I needed:) awesome app! Simple and easy to use.

The worst app, and service I’ve ever experienced. Handy has stolen over 600$ from me. I have cancelled the service 4 times now, and been emailing endlessly with whoever runs this app. They refuse to reimburse my money and will not let me out of the service because I signed up for a 6 month contract. The service is unreliable and it honestly feels like you’re just being scammed. Please take my advice - and the advice of SO many others who got trapped into Handy. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS SERVICE.

Faiz is amazing.. Thank you Faiz for doing such a great job. We had many special requests and he was positive, speedy and thorough. I will definitely ask for him in future.

NO GOOD!!!. I was working on this platform for about 4 months but they deactivated my account without any notice! After a lot of time follow up they told me that I had damage to the client's product BUT I am sure I did everything correctly! Before leaving the client's house I take confirmation! This issue happened to another assembler too I'm highly suggesting you switch on the TaskRabbit or Jiffy because of the prices and number of jobs for both clients and handyman The end!

Amazing !!. For my first time in handy I was a little hesitant - Fakher aldin A. Was truly professional and quick !! I love it !!

Meh. App works okay. They overcharge in a lot of cases. Support kinda blows.

Horrible Service. They immediately charged my card and then proceeded to reschedule my appointment 3 times before cancelling! Waste of time

Unreliable.. Great idea, but unreliable. Confirmations do not guarantee arrivals.

Good Service and Friendly People. I had ordered a bed online for my son and building/installation services were available through Handy. Best investment ever and peace of mind. Very happy with the professionalism and promptness of the contractor. I will use other services through this company.

Job well done. Handy man, Salaar, arrived on time and did the job in a timely manner. Saved us a lot of frustration for a decent price.

Assembly of my rocking chair. I have been given the run around for 2 weeks now. It took a lot of phone calls and time to get an appointment. The guy was due to come last week but cancelled without calling. It happened again today. No phone call. It was the same canned message on email again. I have already paid for the Handi service, $100. I want my money back. I can’t find a person from management to call/write. Does anyone know a management Handi phone number? Pamela

The App Is Fine, The Service? Not. The app has a nice UI. Easy to navigate and everything you look for. Now getting a professional to actually follow through is the problem. I had some furniture from wayfair to assemble and requested help when I bought the furniture, wayfair books through handy and my ordeal began. The first professional RESCHEDULED THE DAY OF with no warning. First off why do they have a reschedule option?!? Why are they able to do that without communicating with the customer in order to agree on a better date? That’s a design flaw, give them a cancel button but not a reschedule one and make it mandatory that they communicate to the person hiring them so an alternative can be worked out. Naturally I was upset and rescheduled to a time convenient for me. When you reschedule it matches you up with a different professional. This one convinced me to work with him privately as I had more items to mount than listed in the booking. He suggested I cancel in order to avoid a double charge (from him and the company) and like an idiot I canceled an hour before he’d agreed to show up only to have him never show up. Of course. What makes this sting worse is their cancellation policy. If you’re canceling less than 2 hrs to time you don’t get your money back. Oh yeah did I forget to say that they CHARGE YOU PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION IF THE TASK? That’s sketchy af. Why not place an authorization and then take the money after completing the task? Weird. Anyways I had to email in order to sort that out and they let me know since it was through wayfair the refund wouldn’t be from handy. Fine I figured it out with wayfair and got my money back. I truly don’t know why i assumed booking it directly with the company would yield different result. But that’s what I did. Gave it a go a third time, got yet another professional that didn’t communicate at all, the day of the job arrives and they reschedule into the next week less than an hour to start time. I was in awe at the sheer unprofessionalism. It really is ridiculous the utter disrespect for someone’s time and money a person must have to do something like that without notification. At this point I was done, over it and ready to find a different service. I canceled to rescheduled booking and they had the balls to credit it to the handy account? Why is that a thing? I was ready to raise hell and then I saw in the follow up email that there’s an option to have it refunded to your payment method instead. That shouldn’t even be an option guys. It should be automatic. These jobs cost a good deal of money. When you cancel it should be going straight to the payment method. Frankly, store credit ain’t sh*t, it’s a crooked way to get people to stay with the platform especially if they’re unaware they can get their money back into their bank accounts. Fix that. All in all a horrible experience. I have this service a fair chance 3x over and it almost religiously let me down every single time. Do better.

Do not pay the installers for the assemblies. Do not trust them to pay you. They just wants the installers to do the work for them without paying. If I could, I would’ve given them -5 starts. Their payments sometimes fail. They just try to resolve queries through emails (No contact number available in Canada). When we email them regarding the issue, there is no response or cooperation from the support team.

Useless App when Used Thru 3rd Psrty. We booked Handy to assemble a purchase through Wayfair. We kept receiving messages that Handy had notifications for us and we needed to open the app. However as we didn’t book through the app our service booking could not be located. Absolutely useless.

Rama. He was great, very professional snd kind. I will use this service again.

Kiren. Kelly was very thorough!

Bad bad bad. The app is awful. The support team is not good too. They don’t care who comes to your house. The cleaners decide where to go, you can’t choose who, if you do the cleaner can cancel. Once someone was booked for me that never ever had any experience of cleaning I cancelled but got charged. They are not professional. The good cleaners are always booked and you can never choose them. The app and the team are all unprofessional and charge a lot of money for nothing. The cleaning is not good enough too. Don’t waste your time and money

Text spam. I haven't had my appointment yet, so the quality of the actual work isn't under review here. The app itself is spamming me with two texts literally every hour starting from 7pm, and still going now at midnight, to remind me of an appointment that's two days away. If this goes on for 2 days I'm going to lose my mind. I want to block it, but I'm scared I'll miss an update from the "handyman" the day of the appointment... Tried to submit a bug report, but the submission form boots you back to the main help screen if you try to attach screenshots. App also told me the handyman being assigned to me had 6 5-star reviews, but after he was booked it showed he was brand new to Handy and had no reviews -- Have screenshots of that as well. Auto booked because they work with Wayfair, but until they improve this experience I'll probably just do Task Rabbit next time unless the service from the Handy guy is out of this world or something.

Sparkling. It was a nice job

Cancelled two mins before start time. Terrible

So grateful for Sal. Thank heavens for people like Sal who are able to follow little picture diagrams and build amazing things. What took him a couple of hours would have taken me weeks. Very polite and tidy. Can’t thank you enough!

Bad service. Booked pro. He called last min will be late for a hours. Handy just gave $10 credit. Such a joke

Maybe in the future. It says this is available in Canada but it won’t accept my postal code as being valid. I can’t trust an app that can’t get me past the first steps

Good app. I downloaded this when I needed to have a coffee table from Wayfair assembled. It’s working fine for me, no issues when using it.

HANDY IT SUPPORT IS UNRELIABLE. I’ve been trying to claim $104 dollars for over 10 days now and whoever is running the app is not giving me any solutions. I’ve email their support team email and explain my case over and over again to numerous “handy workers” and still not being able to get payed for my work done.

Excellent. Easy to operate the app

Yard clean up. It took some time to get someone here to do the job. This was my first time using the service and quite frankly I was getting concerned that this process was a scam because they rescheduled twice. If they had tried to postpone again I would have canceled. As it turned out the third time worked. The young man who came was great. He was very polite and worked very hard to do the clean up. I will use the service again if I am unable to do the work myself.

Ive never had a need for less than 0 stars; until now. When this service first came to Toronto, it wasn’t perfect, but it worked. I have however, in the past 5 months or so, had 3 cleaners and a handyman cancel the same day, after I’d already been charged and rearranged my schedule to be home from work to accommodate. After the last time, I dealt with customer service by email, they were apologetic, etc etc and then it happened again today. I refuse to deal with their automated or overly scripted email help so I tried live chat today, only to have the agent disconnect and now live chat is offline. So my anger aside. The service clearly does not exist in Toronto anymore. They book appointments, charge you then claim the “pro” they’ve assigned cancelled same day. Every. Time. And there’s no way to speak to a human. Worse than poor service is no service at all.

I would avoid using this app for services. We have been using the Handy app for a few months for twice monthly house cleaning, which consists of 2, 5 hour services every other week. So far we have had a “pro” steal medicine, several no shows the day of the cleaning so we had to reschedule, we had a pro show up with no cleaning supplies, who stayed an hour of the 5 hours, did virtually nothing and left. Honestly we think he was casing our house for a future break in. Handy offered us a $20 credit, gee thanks, but that Didn’t come close to making it right. Not to mention the cost of the new security system we had to install after that experience. And today we had another pro no show the appointment, so I stayed home today for nothing. We are locked in for another 2 months of services, I’m trying to get my money back and cancel those while working with my credit card company to block future payments. While we have had some good experiences with a couple of the pro’s, We don’t feel that overall, the professionals they have sent to our home to clean have been properly screened or trained. Definitely finished with this app as soon as we can get out from the rest of our service commitments.

Garage door opener replacement. This handyman service was used by Lowes from my American Residential Warranty Company claim to install brand new garage door opener . Handymen never could install garage door opener to working correctly and entire system was taken down (multiple times ) , repurchased ( multiple times); reinstalled unsuccessfully ( multiple times)! Handyman service , Lowes Handymen contractor service , American Residential Warranty & AIG warranty claim services DO Not guarantee their service nor uphold to their written warranty contract & claims . The labor portion of garage replacement installation was never completed because Lowes used this horrible handy service (hired by American Residential Warranty Company) ; I had to pay out of pocket to authorized garage door repair service. Cancelling American Residential Warranty Service and never want to use any Handy service from here or Lowes . All companies blamed one another for poor services and gave apologies but NO one resolved getting the garage door opener LABOR /installation taken care of . Lowes handy service administrator said she was gonna reimburse incomplete labor cost but she lied and never fulfilled it either . This handyman service totally screwed me over and stole my money . Do Not Use this service !!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The first time I had a cleaner come out, he puttered around for 5 hours going through my stuff, didn’t finish cleaning because he ran out of time, hung up pictures I didn’t ask him to, ran out of Swiffer mops and didn’t get more so he didn’t mop. Notified Handy and they asked me to send pictures as proof. Had to fight to get a refund. Also had to fight to get someone else out right away. My husband had broken his hip and we needed help cleaning before guests came to visit in two days. Whole reason I got the service. Not a good way to treat a first time customer. Second time we used them she also did not mop but did ok otherwise. Third time went fine although they brought their baby with them which was kinda odd. Fourth time was supposed to be today but when I checked the app this morning there was no longer someone assigned to come clean. 30 minutes before appointment time I get a text saying they had to reschedule me for Monday. I’m so done. I’ve already been charged even though no cleaning has been done. And on top of that I’ve been charged $99 early cancellation fee. I’m sure it will be a fight to get a refund for the cleaning that didn’t show up today. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

My first experience with Handy. I like the app and the service but lately it’s Very difficult to talk to custumer service . The app has scheduled a Different PRO without consulting with me and then charged me a 30 dollars fee for canceling it rescheduling the PRO I wanted . About the app I felt uncomfortable to the fact that I had to sign up for a subscription and I though that the 3 month deal was extremely expensive . This will stop you guys from having clients because the obligation is frustrating . It would be ok to get a discount if we bought packages but within one year of expiration not 6 months in a row. There are months that we might be traveling and might not need the service . About Jessica : she was fantastic , super professional , fast , cheerful, helpful , careful . She is an amazing professional and my house looked amazing after she left . I gave her a tip but I can’t tip her all times so I hope that you are paying her well . Thank you and please book her again , Cristiana . Ps I sent a coupon for 13 friends please send me discount if they do sign up . Best wishes to you all.

DO NOT BOOK HANDY don’t take the chance. Ordered a bed from Walmart. Was uneasy about hiring a stranger but thought I would give Handy a try as they seemed professional. They set the appointment automatically when the bed shipped. It was for 10 days after I received the bed. Plenty of time for them to book someone or reschedule. They sent me repeated emails and texts confirming the day and time. The day before they sent an email that I could contact my “Pro” but there was no contact info listed. So I questioned that anyone was actually booked. Customer service confirmed yet again, less than 24 hours prior to my appointment, that there was indeed a “pro” booked for my appointment. It is just about two hours before my appointment. I have just taken my daughters old bed apart because they will not do that part, and I get a text my appointment is cancelled and rescheduled for 11 am on a workday. Completely unacceptable. I send an email complaining about how unprofessional they are and all they say are “ we’ve canceled your booking. You will get a refund in 5-7 business days” don’t take the chance on these people. They are not professional I wouldn’t let them beat your house.

Rip off!. Update: after repeated attempts to resolve the matter, I’m filing a police report. This company is a rip off. I paid for Handyman service to install a bidet but the job didn’t show in my upcoming jobs in the app. I tried repeatedly to contact customer service and found they charge to get a response. Shortly before the scheduled job, I got a message that they were canceling the job and rescheduling it. I responded twice that I wanted to cancel it entirely. A person showed up at the rescheduled time anyway. (I had just returned home after surgery.) The handyman did not know what a bidet is or how to install it. What should have been a 10-15 minute task took hours. He broke the toilet mechanism in the process. He did replace it—with a mechanism that is too large for the toilet. He also broke parts of the bidet. Fortunately I had purchased a second bidet and he used parts from that—so now I have a second bidet I cannot use. After ruining two towels, he left with a wrench I had recently purchased and did not respond to requests to return it. The company’s response was to offer a $35 credit on a future job. I am left having to hire a plumber to repair the damage and cannot use the $120+ bidet I purchased. I am deleting the app!

Poor Customer Service. First off, the app is pretty bad. Why can’t you send pictures through the app to your handy person? You are then left to take the conversation to your personal cell numbers. Secondly, I was really disappointed with how the app handled the job. I was given A professional, had a good conversation him him, he told me the tools to get, etc for the above average complicated job. Then he tells me the day before that the app canceled our appt because the guy had an emergency with his family and didn’t make his job that morning. Meanwhile I heard NOTHING about this from Handy. I had to go into the app and see they were looking for a new person for me. Then I had to re-explain everything to the new person. Handy should have given me the option to keep the guy I had or request a new one if it bothered me that he missed a job. Or at least LET ME KNOW. Very unprofessional. Handy lacks customer service. Find a local processional on your own instead.

Very disappointed. I would not recommend using this app to anyone I know. The first time I scheduled a cleaning on the day of the cleaning the person never showed up to my house. When I reported this to Handy they did their best to make this situation better by giving me a percentage off of my cleaning and sending someone the next day luckily everything worked out and my house was cleaned and I was happy and ready to move on. The next time I schedule the cleaning was for a month later and I scheduled the cleaning to be at a specific time with my husband myself and our dog would be out of the house. Less than 24 hours before that cleaning the cleaner canceled and I was not able to reschedule the cleaning until almost a week later. When I contacted customer service about this all they told me was that I could cancel my membership with them for $100 or I could continue using their services. There was no mention of trying to make right the situation where we were canceled at last minute and really no sympathy for putting us into a difficult situation of trying to reschedule. In my opinion this is not a great way to do business and keep clients.

This was my 1st time utilising services via Handy; but, it definitely won’t be my last!. Handy, hit a home run in both my mother’s and my book by scheduling Chris P. for the job at my house! Chris was the Service Professional/Tech. who came to my home to set up a couple new Roku Ultra boxes on both mounted & non-mounted TVs, none of which are “smart TVs”. A healthy amount of residual wiring required fighting through, identification, burial or storage due to our not knowing what was good/useful/needed or not. This previously seemingly daunting task, was efficiently and swiftly rectified by Chris while setting up these new Roku Ultra boxes. [Note: Extra (*) for Professional Chris wearing a face mask upon arrival; and, another (*) for putting booties over his work boots before entering my home.] Chris was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, neat, courteous, attentive, and respectful of both mine and my mother’s home, as well as, of both our individual questions along the way. I highly recommend Handy and Chris P., you will not regret it.

Just gave away my money. Another unsatisfied customer. One time I booked a cleaner but he went home with my cleaning solution. After skipping a few bookings because I was moving to a new place, I resolved to use a cleaner regularly. The person scheduled looked really good and I was excited. On the day of the appt, I get a note from a different cleaner (apparently the person changed) and the new cleaner had an emergency so I rescheduled the booking. I rescheduled to next week but changed my mind to the next day because I really wanted my apartment cleaned but then changed my mind again and skipped that booking because I had a guest coming over that night. Somehow it didn't register in their system and I ended up being charged for the next day. The heads up handy gave me was 1.5 hr before the cleaning, half an hour I can cancel with just a penalty so I was caught off guard and couldn't get any refund. Their customer service was speedy but within their "courteous" emails there was always an snobbish air that they didn't care about my business. So I ended up giving them money and having to clean myself!! Wonderful first cleaning experience at my new place! Great job, Handy. Just find a trusty individual cleaner if possible instead of a bunch of strangers.

Horribly unreliable. I really wanted to like handy because the idea of being matched with cleaners and being able to see their ratings sounds great! After 6 months though, I realize that it is actually causing more frustration in my life vs less. Issues I’ve had: 1) cleaners canceling last minute. One canceled on me ten minutes after she was supposed to arrive because she put in the wrong address in her phone and when she realized that she has to travel 4 more stops to get to my apt she just cancelled! 2) people you like disappear on the app so you always end up working with new cleaners. That means it takes time to explain what you want and which products to use and make sure they get all the tough places.. etc. basically you have to be engaged for the time they are here. There is no way to build a relationship with someone 3) they don’t seem to match based on location. So I would get cleaners coming from the other side of the city. They would then complain about how far it was and, understandably, not want to come again. 4) quality is really hit or miss. I had some horrible cleaners and some good ones. But most were just ok.

Not such a “pro”. My “pro”, if I can call her that, was the worst experience I have ever had. To start, she showed up 45 min late, doesn’t apologize and goes into a long story of how she walked into the wrong house. Then proceeds to tell us that she was fired from Handy for being late and so not to tell them. Next she only showed up with oven cleaner, no other supplies and proceeded to ask us what each of our supplies are used for as though she had never cleaned a house before. 3 hours in, she did the bathroom and the oven and made the bed. She barely cleaned the kitchen (we had to clean after her to wipe up the soap scum) and never touched the living room. She ran out in a hurry and we later found that she had broken our broom. While she was here, she spent the whole time on the phone and was so loud that I had to apologize to my colleagues as I was working from home. I’ve never experienced such a rude, obnoxious person and she didn’t even get the job done! When I reported it to Handy they offered to send another person (another 3.5 hours I would never get back) and the person canceled 30 minutes before they were supposed to be here. I requested and received a full refund and will not be using this service ever again.

So disappointed. It was my first time using handy, and I was so excited because we had a busy weekend full of parties and family, so so excited to get my house cleaned on Saturday while we were out. I scheduled a three hour time block from 10 to 1 PM. When I got home that evening it was so clear that the house had barely been touched. The carpets had definitely not been vacuumed, the floors had clearly not been mopped, and the surfaces, well only even some of them, had been wiped down with what looked like a baby wipe. There were still breakfast crumbs on the kitchen counter, make up on my vanity, and the toilet bowl had not been scrubbed. I also looked on the app and it showed that the cleaner had only been there for one hour out of the three that we had paid for. Within the hour, I contacted Handy customer service and put in the request, and never heard anything back. My husband followed up about two days later, and now over a week later we still haven’t heard anything back. More than anything we are just so disappointed because we are so excited to have a clean house, and we came home to fill, after we had paid someone to clean it. But the worst part was that they never followed up to fix their mistake. Just really disappointed.

Edits. I have not found a way to edit the specific services I want. For example, I picked 2 extra services for my cleaning and wanted to delete one of them. It is not letting me do this on the app. After asking the professional to not come unless this was removed (as well as sending an email to the “help” page). The app finally showed a way to edit my extras. Professional that came didn’t do the windows after I paid for it, she spent time folding my clothes and organizing a tray on my dresser (not needed) but then failed to clean basic areas like the bathroom and kitchen floors, she never used basic glass cleaner on a glass countertop which still had clumps of visible dirt. She somehow stained my comforter so badly that she attempted to wash and then dried it on the hottest setting which SET the stains. To top off the day, she locked a door that was not locked when she arrived making us locked out of our own house and had to call a locksmith. The “help” claims department were quick to respond but the cleaning was still not done before I had house guests and the inconvenience of everything (including being late for work) was not worth it all.

The “Pros” are HORRIBLE!!!. Update: customer service has contacted me again and again. Still this issue is not resolved. My original purchase took place Dec 9, 2022. Today is Jan 15, 2023. Still no resolution. LOTS of promises and “we’ll be in touch soon”. Yet no resolution. The app is fine. The Pros and the customer service are a NIGHTMARE!! They were late, made a mess, assembled the product backwards and left before the job was done. The promised to return and never came back. The second set of pros they sent fixed the assembly problem. They then encouraged me to cancel with Handy and pay them directly so that they made more money from the job. I asked them to leave and hired a reputable handyman to finish the install. Customer service is a NIGHTMARE! I was promised a refund 10 days ago. After sitting on hold for over an hour and waiting two weeks I have never received a return call. No refund, no updates on my situation. I would NEVER use this company again. I would never recommend them!! AVOID ANGI/HANDY at ALL COSTS!!! Update: Handy has responded to this review. I have sent them my information 6 or 7 times now. I have ZERO faith that this will be resolved. Both my money and my patience are gone!

I like Handy for cleaning services but.... Handy is great for cleaning services as I’ve found a great cleaner who does a thorough job cleaning my place. The only thing I don’t like about Handy is that if the cleaner (or provider) does not do a good job and you rate them less than 5 stars, the provider doesn’t get paid their full amount. I’d never want to interfere with someone’s pay so before I found my cleaning professional that I have now, there was a gentleman who did not do a good job cleaning my house. He threatened me to give him a 5 star rating or else they would dock his pay. Since this person was in my home, I didn’t want any issues with that. I think that Handy should either let the professional choose their rate or have a flat rate for services as the experience I had with the prior cleaner was awkward and uncomfortable for me. I also didn’t like the 3 month contract they kept me in either. If you cancel before your contract ends, you have to pay a $99 cancellation fee which to me is ridiculous. Besides those two things, I like Handy for cleaning services now that I’ve found my go-to professional.

Waste of money, does not deliver. I paid for a 3 hr cleaning for my small studio apt and it was cleaned ok, but not thoroughly or conscientiously. I saw debris on floor behind toilet bathroom, soap scum on some fixtures, I asked if window sill could be cleaned and they cleaned only the base, while leaving the rest of window clearly dirty. I booked a second cleaning for over a week and received no confirmation. Then on the morning of the cleaning received a message that cleaner was unavailable and they rescheduled it automatically. 3rd cleaning: another cleaner cancelled on me last minute, and I really wanted the studio cleaned before I left for vacation. I was sick of this so I just attempted to cancel my account, but I had about $90 in credits from canceled cleanings. They counter offered to use the $90 towards a $99 membership that will allow me to book individual cleaning sessions without pre-booked regularly scheduled times. They would not refund me my $90 however. This business is exhausting me. Their rating is fake and I can’t believe how low they pay their employees and make them buy their own supplies. So when I get a cleaner all of them have different supplies and some buy cheap supplies and I don’t blame them. I can’t stand this company. ZERO stars.

Helpful and Easy to Use!. The Handy App is great! My husband and I had gone through 4 different lawn care companies before we found Handy. We had dealt with people not showing up, or showing up late, not having the right tools, only accepting cash or checks and poor quality of work. When we found Handy everything changed. The app is super simple to use and the quality of work is so much higher. We can pay, and tip right in the app, as well as communicate with your professional. We have used it for lawn care and house cleaning and we plan on using it for many other home related tasks. There are so many options and categories for jobs and in my experience you can usually get someone for the job within a few days of requesting help. You can also set up reoccurring appointments which is so nice for things like yard work. Since finding the Handy app our house and lawn look amazing and our stress level is way down, can’t recommend Handy enough. If you need a household task completed, Handy is the answer!

BEWARE- they will rip you off!. Please use ANOTHER COMPANY! They will lie to you then scam you out of money! I paid for assembly/to have some pics hung & then Paid through the app. The technician came but did not complete the time within the allocated time I paid for. HE STATED YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED for the additional time! You have already paid for the job. As a result, he stayed an additional 3 hours to complete the work. After he was done, he said send an email verifying the time he stayed. Once again, echoing no additional charges will be billed to you. He stated Handy has to pay him. Guess what, not only did they charge me but they charged for the ENTIRE TIME including the $166 I had already paid for. Since my initial “review”/ email was positive, they use this to send to the credit card company when disputed. YOU CAN’T CONTACT THEM BY PHONE & they only respond with a basic genetic email “apologizing” for the experience, but HAVE NOT REFUNDED MY MONEY! Let me be clear, if the guy would have told me there would be additional charges, I would have possibly rescheduled on a different day - hence when I could afford to pay another 166, but total charges $521 to HANG PICS & light assembly. Save yourself the headache, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Appallingly terrible service and app. I have never written a review, but the experience I’ve just had with Handy warrants writing one. I have never been as unhappy with a professional service as I was with the one Handy provided. The “professional” came to mount a television and damaged both the wall and the television before abruptly abandoning the job and leaving. First, he drilled an unnecessary hole in my wall that was too large to fit the screws and then decided not to use that hole (the hole now shows under where he was going to hang the TV), and second, he broke a screw off in the back of my television. It was appallingly obvious that he had no idea what he was doing. He then proceeded to abruptly leave without completing the job, leaving the hole in my wall and the broken-off screw still in the back of my television. There was someone on-site at the location with him who witnessed all of this occur and to whom he just said “sorry” as he left. This is unacceptable service and I cannot believe Handy runs a company that allows “professionals” to come into peoples' homes without knowing what they are doing and as a result, causing irreversible damage. I will never be using this app again and I suggest others don’t even use it to begin with.

Huge flaw in my book. I’m moving and have a tight timeline to list my house for sale. I have spent A LOT of money on Handy but have one big issue that will limit my usage going forward. I scheduled 3 services and the app assigned “Handies” and sent requests to see if they are available. I didnt have much time to wait for confirmation (again, have to get this work done fast) so the only way to pick a different professional was to click “reschedule” and I saw there were pros that have instant booking. So for 2 of my 3 services today I picked someone who I absolutely knew could be here. I kept the exact same time, same # of hours and same services. Well guess what, the app charges a reschedule fee if you do this ($15 and $30). Why??? This is a major flaw in your platform. Also I ordered 2 Handies earlier in the week to help me pack boxes. It was confirmed, then they bailed at the last minute which put me in a major bind with the movers I had scheduled. The pros should be penalized for this. My biggest complaint is being charged a fee when I tried to find a pro that I absolutely knew was available. Non starter for me Handy. Will update my rating when you address. Know your audience! F+++

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or $ ON THIS APP. Tried to get someone to come and clean my house (to get stress off my wife) but the entire day of the cleaning they kept messaging me asking if I would pay them cash (after already having paid through the app) and asking if their husband could come with them and help. I was very polite and accepting at first but after they said they would be “a little late” I waited for over an hour after the original scheduled time and no one showed and would not answer my messages. After contacting Handy cunstomer support they wanted to still charge me the $125 fee because it was “after the 24 hour period”. I eventually got refunded after fighting for what seemed like days. It’s been 2 months since then and every 2 weeks $125 gets taken out of my account for cleanings I’ve never booked due to “terms” Handy has about keeping a 3 month contract with them once you first start their service. Every 2 weeks I have to contact consumer support and fight for a refund. I will NEVER try to book anything with this app again, I would rather pay the extra hundred or so $ for a local cleaning coming to come in and actually show up. Please please please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS APP. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Do not work for these thieves. I used the app for a few months as a side hustle and ended up deleting it out of pure rage over their treatment of me. When clients who really appreciated my services told me how much Handy charges them compared to what they pay the people working for them, it was astounding. On top of that, they wanted you to always have an open schedule for clients to book into and wouldn’t notify you of other available jobs if you didn’t. Multiple times I had to cancel bookings for clients that were too far away from me for it to be economical for me to take the job (ex. driving an hour to make $60) because they put themselves on my schedule (due to Handy forcing me to have an “instant book” schedule - where I didn’t get to say yes or no to a booking before it showed up on my schedule - in order to see more available jobs) and because the client had tried to book within 24 hours of when they wanted the job done, Handy then charged me a fee for cancelling the booking. They also have no phone number. You can email them and they respond with a scripted response which basically amounts to “tough luck” and keep taking your money. This app is terrible. Don’t pay for it.

Too many chances - unreliable, late, leave early. I’ve given Handy housecleaning so many chances over the years. Yes, YEARS. I’ve had people never show up multiple times (but you better believe they’ll still charge you unless you complain) which is so frustrating particularly if you have an event in your home coming up and now you’re left with no time to find someone else! My most recent recurring booking my Pro would regularly arrive hours late (which that part I didn’t care about) but then she’d leave early (around three hours for a five hour booking) because she started so late she had to go pick up her son from school! I did not even realize my booking was supposed to be for five hours, not three, this happened so regularly. I was actually tipping her super well on the days she “worked extra” (ie the actual amount of time I was paying for - 5hrs). I only found out I was being majorly shorted when I was reviewing my account for something else. So I stopped using her and requested a new Pro who had lots of good reviews. Pro never showed up! Never messaged or called, just didn’t show. This app is garbage. I’m sure you can get lucky and find a good recurring person but definitely terrible for occasional help for sure.

Horrible Experience - Stay Away!. I am not one to post bad reviews for fun, but oh man, this is one of the worst customer experiences I've had. I had one very bad clean to start off my 6 month subscription, one where they did a good job, but the woman hated dogs (it's clearly on my profile that we have dogs), and then recently, they canceled 20 minutes before we had houseguests coming into town. I wrote an email complaining, and was only given $10 in credit, and also warnings that if I canceled a cleaning in the future, I would have to pay a $15 fee or $99 for canceling my subscription entirely. Ironic that Handy can be as unreliable as they want with very little recourse, but I get slapped with all of the fees. Overall, my understanding of Handy when I first signed up was that it was customer-centric: how great to be able to handle all the booking details over the app. However, after all of this, it was truly the opposite of that. I understand they are freelance contractors, but as a digital platform, with a business proposition like Handy's, it's their responsibility to figure out how to manage that -- not mine. I can't wait to go back to my old fashioned cleaning service that I have to call/email -- at least they show up and do a good job.

Scam. I ordered the mounting service from Handy when I purchased a TV I bought from Walmart. Appointment was cancelled twice by a “Pro”. The third time, the person arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes late. My home is a brand new construction in a new development. All the homes were built and inspected. The pro first tried to tell me he couldn’t hang the TV because steel beams were in the wall. I told him no steel beams were in the wall, I watched the house being built, and even pushed a screw driver through the Sheetrock to show him it was wood. Then he proceeded to tell me that he couldn’t install the TV because it was above a fireplace and his business insurance forbid him from installing TV’s above fireplaces. I again explained to him that every home in this development has a TV over the fireplace, and I checked with the town and because the fireplaces were built with a mantle, TV’s could be installed above them, in-fact when the home was built, the electric and data connections were installed above the fireplace by the home builder. He then proceeded to tell me that if I paid him an additional $50 over the price I already paid to Walmart, he would install the TV. I told him no thank you. He then marked the job as complete and I lost the money I paid Walmart to install the TV.

Find Another Cleaning Service. I wish I could provide a negative score since my experience has been so bad with their service. I signed up for 6 months of cleaning service with add-ons. Of the 4 appointments set, 3 were cancelled the morning of the booking. The first cleaning was just ok even though the cleaner didn’t clean the fridge and oven even though I paid additional to have that done. I rescheduled one of the previous cancelled appointments, and that was beyond mediocre. I ended up just finishing myself because they didn’t wipe down much. At this point, I’ve requested to cancel the service because I cannot continuously be inconvenienced to change my schedule to meet Handy and they cancel at the last minute. It’s not worth the time, money, or aggravation. When I contacted them explaining the poor service and their record of cancellations, they expected me to pay a $99 fee. Never! They can go ahead and charge it and I’ll dispute it with my bank because I have yet to receive the type of service and “happy” they advertised. Do not hire them for anything. You’d have better luck finding someone on your own and paying as you go so you aren’t subject to their fees, last minute cancellations and poor service.

WARNING: DO NOT Book Here. I have had a scheduled cleaning be cancelled on me three times in a row, with less than a couple hours notice, and once 5 minutes after the service was supposed to begin. Customer service responds promptly, but there is zero real initiative to solve the problem. Handy makes money off the pro if a pro cancels a booking (makes the pro pay a cancellation fee to them, not the user), so there is zero incentive on their end to make sure you get the service you booked. Your booking is rescheduled for whatever time they choose, and your card is already charged. Right now, due to their constant cancellations, Handy has charged my card over $150 in service fees from three bookings that they cancelled and I still haven’t gotten the service I requested. So they have my money, and over a week of disrupted schedules on my end later I still don’t have service. Customer service will float a $10 credit to your account “for future use”: not only a drop in the bucket compared to your financial and personal inconvenience, but a drop that is contingent on your using their completely unmanaged service again. Heed my warning neighbors, take your business elsewhere. You’ll regret doing business here.

SCAM ALERT!!!. I am a landlord with multiple Air BnB units and was ecstatic to find out there was an “uber of cleaning companies” since i was having such a hard time finding cleaning people. Well that excitement was definitely short-lived when after having someone rearrange their schedule to be there to let the person in early in the morning, they never showed up. This appointment had been schedule for days. They sent me a text less than an hour before the person was scheduled to arrive that “due to a last minute pro call-off,” they would be rescheduling for the following week...without even consulting me on my availability. This happened FOUR MORE TIMES. I tried to contact them but there is literally NO way to reach them by phone, so i had to email them and it took DAYS for them to respond. Finally, someone emailed me back and agreed to a time to speak on the phone and i canceled their service and got a refund for my initial discounted appointment. THEN a few weeks later someone actually showed up at my building to clean when i wasn’t there — apparently, the service was never canceled and i got charged $170 TWICE! This company is unprofessional at best and a scam at worst. No matter how you look at it, they are UNETHICAL!

Poor customer service. I unknowingly got locked into a 3 month contract due to predatory and misleading membership package verbiage. It says 3 months at a set price which is what I thought I paid for, only to find that I would be charged additional charges every month. I was unaware of a cancellation fee and I contacted customer service to ask that this fee be waived due to the misleading sign up language, but to no avail. I also recently lost my job and I am unable to pay for these unanticipated charges. I will certainly contact my credit card company and dispute. I get the impression that handy company does not care about its customers and is only concerned with taking their money. On that basis I certainly would not recommend this service. UPDATE: don't let the handy respsonses fool you! Even after contacting them again as advised in the comment below, no resolution was reached. They told me that I basically should have read the terms and agreements that highlight my account would have recurring charges. This service is extremely predatory! I guess you need to have a lawyer look over the terms before you sign up. God knows what else is in their "terms and agreements". Beware!!!

Do not start this service unless you are in a heavily populated city. I started handy to try and take some things off my plate and it has been a headache from the start. Not worth the money. First cleaning was canceled by the provider saying it was too far away. Next cleaning was assigned to another provider aka the only provider in my area apparently. She came didn’t even know what it was she was supposed to clean which I indicated on the app when I scheduled the appointment. So I then told her again. She disregarded what I asked her to clean and proceeded to clean on my sink for three hours when it was not that dirty. Then left 3 hours early and wanted to come back the next day. I have her another chance and literally dusted the piano and vacuumed in front of the piano for 2 hours and left early again and wanted to come back the next day. I said no and then started trying to find a new provider. There wasn’t one and I was not about to have the same person come out. I proceeded to try and cancel the service due to lack of providers and Handy still wants me to pay the cancellation fee of $99!!!! For dissatisfaction and lack of providers on their part. DO NOT DO THIS APP!!!!!

Cleaning. Terrible service and way of management! First I request an appointment and then last minute the cleaner cancels out and get assigned someone I didn’t request so postpone till the following week! The following week I get a terrible service I had to end up cleaning and after reporting the incident and submitting photos as requested the cleaner doesn’t get paid due to the terrible service which then starts harassing me with calls and death threats cause she didn’t get paid! I advise her to reach out to the company not to me cause that’s who she works for but she keeps on calling from different numbers and no caller Id!!!!! And when you report all this to the company you don’t get anything other than some credit for the terrible service and you can file a police report! What kind of terrible service is this when a freaken cleaner goes threatening a client cause her service is just terrible and starts swearing and harassing! You expect me to freaken use this service again! I’m already going to speak to an attorney about the fact that someone working for the company can do all this and just get away with it! There are laws in the states to put some trash like this behind bars and sue companies like yours for things like so better have a good lawyer ready!!!!!

Very frustrating!. What do I like about Handy? I like that it provides an opportunity for hard working people to earn the money they need. Some of them provide really excellent service. Unfortunately, the app itself is HORRIBLE. If you have a no-show, need to reschedule last minute, or need any kind of extra support or assistance, you will not be able to reach anyone. When you’re working with individuals who may not be experienced in the work they’re doing or even just the broad range of professionalism, it would really help if the app itself provided more communication and functionality. Again, I love that it connects me with some really great people who work hard but I wish I could pay them more for their work instead of skimming off the top to pay an app that provides very little to either of us except the initial connection and scheduling. Also, there are some on the app who frankly don’t provide high quality service and sometimes don’t show up at all. In those instances, it’d be great to be able to get a customer service person on the phone.

Not flexible. Trapped in a commitment now.. I never get the same “pro” as they call them. Always a new person with a varying set of skills and attention to detail. I signed up for 3 months biweekly. If you need to reschedule you must do it within 24 hours of your booking or risk a $100 fee. But your pro can cancel 30 minutes before the appointment. If you cancel your plan early because every cleaning person you had was a waste of your time and money it’s a $100 fee. If you want to skip a booking it’s over $100 fee. My point is the inflexibility is just horrendous. I am extremely disappointed because this application is a good idea. Handy just executed it poorly. Beware! Addition: after this rating, handy applied a $52 credit to my next booking for the two hours that my pro had left early with. I promptly emailed back and said this was an empty gesture because I will not be booking again. Immediately, they refunded my credit card the $52. (I had asked for this in my email) This was a surprisingly efficient and positive customer service experience. However, they still reminded me that I signed a three month contract and canceling now would cost me $100. I replied that I feel taken advantage of.

Beware!!. I have submitted a complaint with the BBB. And I do not typically complain, ever. I booked a bi-weekly cleaning with Handy for my new 4 bed/3 bath house. Was given a promotional price and confirmed 3 hours intervals. I was very pleased with the first “pro”, she did a stellar job, so I kept the booking. I should note I work 3 jobs in healthcare and have 2 young boys so I need and rely on the help, but have a very clean home. This particular “pro” came while we were at church, came late and left an hour early. I came home to the house literally the same way I left it besides some of the carpet in my bedroom being vacuumed and the sweeper left in the middle of the room, some blue cleaner in one toilet and one trash can being taken out. Nothing else was done as agreed upon. When I contacted the “pro” she accused me of having bugs, said she was only told to do one room (which wasn’t even finished if that was so) and was generally rude, blaming me, saying she needed to keep her home she worked hard to keep clean, safe. When I contacted Handy they lightly addressed it and offered me a $20 credit which was actually never placed in my account. I contacted again with pictures and was ignored so I contacted the BBB. Do not use this service if you value your home and money!

I should have listened to the reviews!. First let me say I did NOT pick this company but instead it was picked for me through Wayfair. I paid for installation of an over the range microwave. I got an email saying it was scheduled for Monday 10/4 at 1:00 via this company Handy. I immediately read the reviews which sucked so I was already unsure but I am a single woman and 5’1” so I didn’t want to attempt it even though I do all my own things around the house. Jump to Monday 10/4 I had to take off work early for one which I cannot easily do since I work in the medical field. I get an email in the morning now saying time is 1:00-2:30. I get home at 12:40 and then get a message from my installer Julien at 1:10 asking me to call him. I call and he says he’s going to be late and will definitely now be here by 4:00. I text him at 3:45 asking if he’s still going to get here at 4:00 and he says no it’s now 5:30!!!! And he has now changed my status within the company/app as it’s finished!! I already got a notification to review his service! I decided to figure something else out and told him not to bother. And that’s what I’m telling you, no matter how you find this company DO NOT USE HANDY!

Never here. I’ve tried and tried to get a pro hired. They always cancel or are late. I’m now waiting for the pro they sent after I haven’t used for non stop problems and low and behold nobody here and it’s 30 minutes past. I tried to message but I guess the common courtesy of communication with the person waiting for you is way too advanced for the level of so called pros they send out to you!!! Not at all happy!! Update.... the pro never showed but did mark the job as done so she could get paid even though she never shied up. It was 37 minutes past her time to show she marked a 3-1/2 hour job she hasn’t showed up at as done. This is the second pro I’ve booked for cleaning and she’s also the second one to pull the no show but mark the job as completed!!!! I’ve contacted customer service and they just reschedule another one and give you $10 in credits but if I were to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours I get charged $15. I think it should at least be equal if not more it’s more of an inconvenience for me to change plans or have plans and they don’t show or cancel. Marking the job completed when not showing is the worst thing they could do in my eyes.

Cancellation nightmare. I purchased two light fixtures from Lamps Plus. Since the last time that I purchased from them , they apparently changed over to Handy. I figured, if they had partnered with Handy that it should work out fine. Bottom line is, I still have two light fixtures on my floor and still haven’t received a refund for the installation. Longer story is that they booked the same guy to come out two days in a row to address each of the light fixtures separately. Weird, but ok. Maybe he already had other jobs. Then, two hours before the guy was supposed to come out, he cancelled. They rescheduled it for Monday. No one picked up the job. I rescheduled for Friday. By Tuesday evening, and no one has picked it up, I reach out to Handy customer service. I also told that it will be assigned out by that evening. It is not. The next day, I reach out again. This rep tells me it’s my fault that no one has picked up the hob because of the time and day of the week I picked. Fine. I’ll cancel and find my own guy. Now I’m trying to chase my money and getting nowhere with a third rep. This just confirms why you use an actual electrician and not a handyman. Would not recommend.

Last minute changes and 3 hour minimum issues. I’ve been using the app for two years now and it generally works well for booking and tipping. The two main issues I’ve had recently are with services. First, I keep getting last minute switches of my cleaning pro despite moving things around to schedule within the availability of the pro I want. This is extremely frustrating and should be addressed because in all but one instance I was dissatisfied with the cleaning provided by the alt. Second, the recent 3-hour minimum should be reconsidered. Every cleaning (from 3 different pros) since implementation of this new policy have spent only two hours cleaning my apartment, which used to be the minimum. It puts both me and the pro in an awkward position because they are forced to ask if I’d like them to clean anything else and I also still feel obliged to tip even if they leave an hour early. This needs to be addressed. Either raise the hourly price or return to the two hour minimum cleaning. I am reconsidering continuing to use this service if these issues are not addressed.

Hidden charges, no timely updates and terrible customer service. I had started the cleaning service with handy and it said $109 if I book recurring cleaning sessions and $200+ if it’s a one time thing. So went ahead and booked a recurring every month. Now after the first cleaning session I have no information on when the next appointment is and then around 4 weeks in I get a text that the cleaner will be at my place in an hour, with no prior notifications. Now I can’t even reschedule (because I wasn’t available in an hour to open the door), apparently because I have to do that 24 hours before but I didn’t even know till an hour before the session. I call the cleaner and she said she’ll email handy and let them know and she can help reschedule. Then an hour later she texts me that she’s at the door and I tried to see through camera I have, and there’s no one outside my unit (to only realize later that she was probably at a different unit). I was charged $231 and then no response from handy after creating a help ticket. On top of a double charge, no notifications to even plan for the session. Definitely wouldn’t recommend handy to any of my friends or family.

Warning !!. This is a terrible company with unprofessional people who sign up to work for them ! This has been a huge nightmare for us ! We purchased a swing set with Wayfair, added $500 for Handy assembly. Booked it. Then day of service only one person came, other did not come. I called him and he said he didn’t sign up for the job, he couldn’t come he’s 2 hours away. So the first person agreed to stay with the help of his brother. I could not even call handy. Had to chat only , during chat rep told me to ask person at my house if he would stay and they would double his pay. I expressed I should not be involved with this decision making. This person then worked 2+ hours ans barely did anything. Left with all the pieces all over my yard stated he will return the following day. He did not. I called him ans he said he would need to come in a few days. I again had to chat, I chatted Many people and many times requesting a manager to call. No one called me. I then had to book another session ans now the directions are missing. The most frustrating thing is customer service. There is NONE !!! No real person to call and speak to. This is shady company to say the least. I am still waiting to get this assembled

DO NOT USE HANDY - STAY AWAY. This was one of the worst experiences that I have had with any type of service. I was forced to use their service and app when I purchased furniture from wayfair and needed it to be assembled. First, they scheduled a service for me BEFORE my product was set to arrive. Luckily I was able to catch this and reschedule to a different time. They had sent me reminder texts about my appointment, and even sent one to me 1.5 hours before my appointment to let me know that my handyman was coming. When it came time for my appointment, no one showed up. I did not receive any updates that my handyman was coming late. I then had to contact hem through their app by submitting a form. It was only then that I got an update that they did not actually have anyone available at that time! Then they rescheduled my service for another time and date that did not work for me. This has been the most disappointing, frustrating, and UNPROFESSIONAL experience. Quite frankly, it is unacceptable. Handy lacks basic communication skills and common courtesy. To summarize, STAY AWAY FROM HANDY. Run away now! Do not use them!! Save yourself the time and headache and use basically any other service.

Great cleaning service. Marcos excellent. I got the service for one of their promotional deals. I honestly was skeptical for I have tried many cleaning services. Nothing is worse than your husband coming home and asking did the cleaning guys show up. I hope you didn’t pay for it. I have heard this many times. I actually had to make excuses for them. And this usually two people and not much got done. So for the last couple times I have cleaned the entire time with the crew just to get everything done. Not exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to this service. Marcos just really helped me get the place really clean. I didn’t have to instruct too much. Trusted him when I left for a an hour. I didn’t have to clean along side him. Did more than two people. Handy prices were really good. Much lower than what I was paying. So I actually am going to continue monthly and that was not my original plan! App is good. Doesn’t have any glitches. Good customer service.

Don’t waste your time.. So I was in the process of selling a house. Everything was moved out and I just needed someone to come in and clean the house. Vacuum, sweep, mop, clean the counters and appliances, clean the windows. Everything was set up and the person was scheduled to start at 3pm on a Saturday. The lady called saying she would be 15 minutes late. So it’s 345pm and she still isn’t there. I called her and she replied that she couldn’t talk. She said she was stuck in traffic. So I asked for an estimate of her arrival time. She replies 4:12pm. Then she said she will stay an hour extra. At 4:25pm she called and told me there was too much traffic and she can’t do it and that I should cancel because she isn’t coming and she hung up. I rescheduled for someone to come the next day. This time I put it for 9:30am. At 8:30am I received notice that they had to reschedule me for Tuesday. Tuesday does not work for me if I wanted the job done on Saturday. I canceled and they said they gave me a credit for the amount I paid. I had to email them to refund me my money. I ended up cleaning the house myself which I did not want to do because I have limited time. But I definitely wasted a lot time dealing with these unprofessional ppl on this app.

No show. DO NOT USE this service it is a waste of money and energy. I scheduled an appointment through Wayfair to have my bed assembled. Right after the appointment was scheduled the person assigned to the job changed the time to accommodate his route. I accepted. A few hours after the change in time the handy person Gustavo, text me saying he could come that same night although he scheduled it for the next day at 12. I said no because my delivery would not be the until later on. Gustavo asked what time it would arrive and the next day text me asking if he could come early. I was not available until our scheduled appointment time. 30 minutes before Gustavo was to arrive he stopped all communication. Turned off his gps position refused to answer calls or messages. Yet he said he completed the job. I contacted customer service and along with an apology they rescheduled me for another appointment the next day at 1pm with another handy guy Eusi. Eusi was supposed to arrive at 1pm. After 30 minutes Eusi was a no show yet again! This company does not hire professionals. They offered to reschedule and a $25 gift card. I refused and requested a full refund. Please avoid using this service.

Do👏🏼Not👏🏼Use. I committed to a three month membership with cleanings twice a week only to have the first cleaning not show. After 35 minutes of waiting around I reached out to customer service to see if I can get somebody else same and the representative were absolutely useless. The chat box on the app only works when you're using it. If you jump out to your email to get a booking reservation number the chat box starts all over again after four attempts I finally asked the team for customer service phone number. According to the Customer service rep my professional canceled 35 minutes into the appointment stating car troubles but no notification was ever sent to me. The Customer service representative couldn't rebook me the same day and told me I had to rebook for 48 hours from now... Extremely frustrating when you move around your schedule to accommodate a specific date and time. I then began the uphill battle to get out of the three month contract and had to sit on the chat box and phone for 45 minutes before it was resolved. I Don't recommend the app and especially don't recommend the business.

Terrible Experiance. I had used handy a couple times. Worst decision I have ever made. Way to many bad experiences. My first appointment 2 appointments canceled 30 mins before they were suppose to get here. The third one made it! After I was re-scheduled twice! I was excited to finally get the place tidied up. The worker comes in, starts cleaning the table, 10 mins in pulls up a chair and starts texting for 10 mins, and cleans one table. After that she leaves and marks the job as complete after 20 mins, then walked out the house. She was hired for 5 hours. I get charged the full amount amount. Whatever, another flop I won’t use this app again. I ask for a refund. The customer service gives me 10% back as a refund. The app litterly shows when the cleaner arrived and left, so they had extremly value proof that she was only there for 20 mins. ON TOP OF THAT. I also had ring proof. Takes me 2 weeks going back and forth with them. They even asked me to show pictures of all the uncleared areas... like really??? Mora of the story, I got my refund after a battle. Would love to never use this app again, but if you cancel your subscription you get charged $99... I don’t think there could possibly be a worst app and customer service out there.

No one showed up. So I’m frustrated with this app service. I scheduled a booking on Saturday and my pro never showed up and I rescheduled for Sunday and my pro canceled 2 minutes before the booking time. I needed my house done this weekend and I’ve already paid for this service. Because I work during the week I cannot schedule during the week, so I have to wait a whole week before I can book again for a service IVE ALREADY PAID FOR! I need a service that’s reliable and I need pros that will show up to do the job. This is ridiculous. I’ve never used a cleaning service before and I am not impressed. I paid to have my house work done for me this weekend and now because of the no shows I am squeezing in time between work and homework to clean my own. This should not be happening especially since I’ve already paid for someone to do this exact work for me so I can focus on my work. I’m extremely unhappy with this app. I only get one day off in the week and I’m spending it cleaning. This is the reason why I enlisted professional help because I’m tired and I need my off day to be spent resting. Not doing dishes, laundry, vacuuming and dusting.

Worst APP. “Happiness Guarantee” is not a thing. Hard to use, impossible to make changes or cancel. One cleaner asked me to sign up directly through her and processed to call me three times a day directly for a week after I called her to tell her she left a piece of her vacuum at my house. One I rejected because she didn’t dust anything. Yet, she still continued to show up, even though I requested someone different three times! Both are very nice but the reason I pay more to go through an app is so I don’t have to deal with telling people no or giving feedback directly, which I still needed to do anyway. Watch your account. They will charge you random fees and charges for anything you try to change. There is no number to call all done through email. And it’s a different person every time so if one service agent says something that doesn’t make sense then your response is sent back and a different agent responds... which is usually from a scripted type response so if you were asking for clarification you still don’t get your answer and the cycle goes on and on. Sign up for the shortest term possible to make sure you like it before you make a commitment. Not worth the money you would “save” if you hate it as much as I do.

Never Again. Booked an appointment through Samsung to move one TV and mount another new one. Two hours into the job, the guy says the other TV isn’t on the work order so he’s not allowed to do it. So I took a day off work to get half my job done. I wrote a paragraph description about the job that needed to be done, but Handy is a faceless company with no humans who work there so apparently no one read that, including our request for a new quite for those added services. So I thought I’d call Handy and straighten this out and add the rest of the job and Handy and the guy here would all make more money…but Handy does NOT want you to call them. They explicitly only let you email them and say they monitor that 24/7 and will respond within an hour. Not only is that way too long, but they didn’t even do that. NEVER got back to me. Googled a phone number for them and it was literally just a recording saying ro email them, I kid you not. ALSO, the second guy for the job never even showed up so I had to do his work myself! This app is 1000% garbage and a travesty. AVOID. Even my handyman who came over here hates it and is about done working for it.
