I just wasted $79. When we did the trial a while back, there was a learn to read mode that really helped my child. A couple months later I purchased a year subscription thinking that would still be there. It was there for a day or so, until what I assumed was an app update that now is completely different and useless. Now my child is bored picking out the color blue and other stuff way below her learning level. And no more reading aside for having stories read to her. She is bored now and wants to know where the words went. Now I appear to be stuck with a year of this ridiculously useless app as it looks like they don’t issue refunds. Has I known the updates would be this bad (and not including activities advertised in the app screenshots that are shared), I would have paid a year upfront.

Great game but some glitches. I love this game. My 2,3 and even 5 year old LOVE it and are very engaged. For $8 a month is nothing. I lose that much in a couch a month or drop for quarters in random toy machines they play with for 5 seconds. This app keeps them engaged and happy, laughing at the funny videos and bragging about new skills. My 3 year old has had amazing reviews from her teacher in the last 3 days I’ve had this with her reading and letter comprehension. She has only been doing it for 3 days and she is ahead of the class when she was the one slacking. The games and jokes and fun tricks them into learning!! Sounds crazy but it’s great. MY ONLY COMPLAINT is the sticker games. They will do stickers for days if I don’t go to the next activity. BUT with any educational game, it’s something for parent AND child not just a tablet tutor. You have to do it with your child for the best benefit. Sometimes the games won’t go to the next level so we have to redo the entire area but it’s honestly not a big deal because they’re still having fun.

Horrible Customer Support. We wanted to love this app. We’ve heard great things about Homer and were hoping to use it to supplement at home learning for our preschooler. Our iPad app will only take us to one screen and that’s to subscribe by paying for a monthly or annual membership. We’ve already signed up and paid. There is no way to get past that screen without signing up to pay again! We’ve uninstalled, powered off and reinstalled over 15 times at this point. There is no way to reach anyone via live chat or phone. There’s usually days in between each email exchange and after dealing with this issue for weeks +, I would like my money back for an app we keep being charged for but are unable to use. I still haven’t been able to reach any customer service agent that has sent anything other than “Did you try restarting?” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Program + Customer Service. I think the app is amazing. I realize its pricey but compared to Osmo it was worth it in a sense. I have now since cancelled my renewal (for financial reasons - not because of app). When we were using it, I found my child was very engaged in the apps and enjoyed it. I had cancelled last year but got charged this year again (I remember getting a cancel email too but must have deleted). Their customer service department FIXED THE REFUND IN THE FASTEST/MOST TIMELY MANNER. For that alone I think the higher price tag is worth it. Great customer service goes a long way! I would highly recommend this app.

Background music is very annoying. For the price this is the worst app that we ever tried. It was hard to figure out how to use it, it would not download to our iPad, it crashed several times, it is not intuitive at all. After several attempts we were able to download it to our iPad. The background music is just awful, very Annoying. My son asked for this app, but I just cannot stand the background music. I don't know how kids can learn anything using this app. Just use Starfall, it is much cheaper and 100 times better. I was subscribed to this Homer app the whole hour and hated it to a point of having PTSD. There no way to get an immediate help, just send an e mail and hope that someone will reply in 24-48 hours. There are better options out there. Now I need to keep an eye and not being charged for the free trial.

Learning done right.. My son is not interested in learning letters/reading. This has engaged him with fun simple learning games that are mixed with creative games in just the right amount. He loves them. Also, the way it’s set up forces him to do the things he’s not as interested in to do the games/activities in the next level he is interested in. He went from refusing to attempt drawing letters to being excited he accomplished one on his own in about a (of playing every other day) week. Much better than other learning apps because it’s not too busy and keeps kids on a path that they are forced to learn on. I’m thankful for it. I had to force him to play mouse but he asks to play this!

Taught my under two year old her alphabet. During the last year we were all sick on quarantine, and in desperation gave my under two toddler an iPad with homer on it to buy us a bit more time to sleep. She loves it. But more than that, the next week she climbed onto my lap and accurately identified a quarter of the letters on my laptop 😯we had not been working with her on them at all previously, so she had to have learned from the app. Now several months later, she knows all her letters, including some lower case. She can identify numbers too, and can accurately count objects in groups. Homer really helped our inquisitive baby get a head start on learning!

Super high quality education. I almost never write reviews, but I have tried so many pre-k education apps and non of them are even come close to Homer. Most apps are just games that have some mild educational connection such as jumping over letter of the alphabet. Homer actually teaches. It makes my kids think and challenges them to learn one step at a time. My 2 year old and 5 year old both use it multiple times a week and they love it. My 5 year old has dramatically improved at reading over the last 6 months and it is mostly due to this app. I’m a customer for life, no doubt. Thank you thank you Homer!

Disappointing update. I had finally found an app that was simple, that my daughter could use to help learn how to read, that was progressive, that I didn’t have to look over her shoulder and make sure she was doing something educational unlike ABC mouse which I found to be a mishmash of overstimulation but that has all changed with this update. I can no longer get to her to focus on one thing, she only wants to watch the videos, stories and play the games. Even the math section is just a total mess, when we first signed up, the app asked what reading skills she had but did nothing of the sort when they introduced math, the activities aren’t linear so she keeps doing the same activities that she enjoys instead of moving onto other ones, I can’t seem to find any parental controls in terms of what she has access to, how much time she spends on certain things... I literally cannot express how much I hate it.

Give the parent and child what they want!. I appreciate that this program offered a 1 month free trial. I had been interested but afraid to try. Now I see Homer is absolutely worth the monthly rate. My son loves electronics, of course. And I always try to limit them for all the behavior and health reasons pediatricians warm us about. This app lets my son play electronic games while building his kindergarten reading skills! I love that when setting up, the app prompts some questions to ascertain where your child should start, so that the games are not too advanced nor too basic for where they are! This app has given us both something we want and we both enjoy it!

Great but needs a few things if I’m going to pay. This app is great. Easy for my kid to navigate and he enjoys most of the games. However, some games should have a way for parents to adjust the difficulty or the app to recognize when to adjust the difficulty level for some things. For example, the pizza making math game is great but is too easy for my kid. I feel he would benefit from some increased challenge by adding more toppings or increasing the amount of required toppings. It’s always “place 1 pepperoni” or “place 3 mushrooms.” Also, I would be happy to pay if there were stories that were interactive. My kid likes the storybooks one with the little girl and was confused when she asked a question and you couldn’t interact to help her solve the answer but instead you wait around and it happens on its own. Sorry , that was a long sentence. I am very tired and probably have better things to do, but I hope you know what I just meant. But yeah, interactive stories and real time problem solving.

It’s hard to cancel membership. Beware. I got the app and didn’t read the fine lines. For some reason I had difficulty creating an account. But kept giving me an error message. Yet I have been billed the whole time that I have not been able to use the app. From what I can figure, perhaps O cannot create an account because I am not the child’s parent. (I am grandma). I want to cancel but had to really look for how to do it in the fine print. First step is you have to email the support staff, which I just did. Now I’ll see what mess I have to go through to cancel. I am not very computer literate so this has not been a pleasant experience for me. I wish there was a simple cancel button to tap to cancel this membership. I guess the more complex the company can make it to cancel, the fewer people cancel and they can keep billing them. I am not pleased with this app at all.

Great game but quits unexpectedly. My daughter doesn’t say a lot of words yet but has surprised me by how much she knows when I watch her use this app. She will be going to speech therapy to help with her development, but I have really enjoyed this app that gives her the right questions for her age and abilities that she can actually answer. I think it makes her feel good about herself being able to answer questions frustration free! BUT since the new update the game crashes! She is now stuck on her pathway and cannot go any further. You can’t skip over any games on the pathway so we are just stuck. This game is worth 5 stars but with the disappointing crashing I can’t give it more than 3. It really is a great app. I hope this issue gets fixed.

Love it usually. Great app both my kids use and love it and I have seen an improvement in their knowledge. With that being said, for the past three months, the app has had issues with loading and saving progress. I have been in touch with the support team over this issue and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the app. If problem still presists then to log out and log back it. I have done these things multiple times and both kids have lost all of their progress. I love the app but it is not glitchy and I don't feel the need to pay for it when it isn't working properly. They can't learn from the same two levels over and over. Another minor complaint is that it is not cross-compatible among devices. My iPhone and iPad have different levels for the kids even though the account it the same.

Good app!. We have been using homer for almost a year now and I can say my son has absolutely been learning to read because of it. I love how easy it is to use and how clear the directions are, without a lot of distracting pictures or sounds like others learning apps that are difficult to follow for an early reader. I am thankful for the update as my son was getting bored with the same pictures, etc. My only couple of critiques with new update is that the little reader books on the learning pathway seemed to be timed after you tap the record button, so the recorded voice starts to play back before my son has finished reading the sentence. Prior to update you could tap record and drag your finger to follow the words until the end of the sentence (at your own pace). In addition, the new letter tracing lesson doesn’t offer any directions, which is different in the new update. Sometimes the lessons can be a bit repetitive and my son gets frustrated/bored, but we try to move through those ones faster so I can keep him interested. All in all it’s a good app we will continue using. He would not know what he knows now if we had not began using this app, so for that I am grateful!

Charging for education. I understand that this an application and the developers would like to get what they put in, but how sick is it that you will charge for education instead of investing in someone’s life free of charge just to have the satisfaction that someone learned through your work. I’ve been a teacher for a very long time for young learners. I still don’t like the idea that if I download a GAME it’s all free..I download EDUCATION oh, I have to pay. I don’t live in the states, I don’t make dollars, and I sure as HELL don’t think ANY parent should pay to teach their kid their ABCs. Here’s the thing, I’m not paying for an app that just tells me it’s great. You have subjected education to only those with affordable incomes that can benefit you. Even though I can’t be one of those parents for my kid, my kid deserves educational apps as well. And IM SO SICK of seeing that every child educational application has a fee. IM DONE with the greed of the world that they only see MONEY! I hope you rot with your app money.

Great app for my disabled son. HOMER has made a huge difference for my 9 year old son, especially during this pandemic. Virtual school does not work for him because of his disabilities; he is unable to do work on the computer. I had him using other apps on his iPad, but they weren’t helping him to progress. We have HOMER set on toddler because that is where he is at academically. I love how HOMER will be able to grow with him. Not only has HOMER helped him with numbers and letters, but also his speech. He is nonverbal. He says a few words, but it can be difficult to understand him. HOMER is helping him pronounce his letters and their sounds. Thank you HOMER!!!!

Great App but too many bugs lately. We love this app so much, we’ve had it for almost 2 years now and my kiddo absolutely loves it and has learned so much and I love as a parent that it grows with their knowledge. So if you happen to have an intelligent child that learns at a higher level than their age group, it doesn’t stop or stunt their progress like other learning apps that keep them in their age groups regardless. The cons to this app is unfortunately as of late, now that their trying to “fix bugs”. My kiddo hasn’t been able to successfully get into his learning for the past 2 months and our annual plan is supposed to renew here soon so I’m not sure if to keep it or not as we haven’t been able to use it and has been starting to feel almost like a waste. :/ Please fix these issues as soon as possible, my kiddo has been working so hard on his learning outside of this app but with his adhd this has been the best method we’ve found so far that he can hyper focus with and stay up with his skills and not fall back.

Excellent cumulative reading program. This is an excellent app that actually builds reading and spelling skills. It builds upon itself instead of just random words, it takes the child through each letter sound and blend. Then the child gets a large assortment of first readers (stories) with the new words they are learning and they can record their own voice reading the story. My daughter learned very quickly and enjoyed the app- she asked to use it on a regular basis. I love that I am able to keep the recordings of her reading and that she has actually learned to read. This is an excellent curriculum and app- my child and I both recommend!

Love Homer!. I have taught 4 of my 5 children how to read. My youngest had not picked up on it very quickly. By Christmastime, she still did not know her ABC’s well, and was not doing well with reading. I was unsure of what to do next, but knew something different needed to be done. I decided to try Homer. It has been the best thing we have ever done to help our youngest in her early education. After using Homer for 2 months, my daughter can confidently say and write the alphabet in order. She can also read many sight words and sound out many others. She is not only learning so much from this app, but she loves doing it. Even at night she wants to do her “school”. Homer has been such a God-send to us.

MUST HAVE!. I’ve had this the HOMER app for quite sometime I must say my toddler & I love this app! First off to start it has a bunch of different activities to complete from tracing letters of the alphabet to songs & rhymes. It amazes me how much my daughter learns from this app. The best part of HOMER is the section of art, where your child can create their story! My daughter goes all out she has so much fun putting “sticker like figures” on empty background // picture created for her to decorate. I have a subscription with them it’s about 8.99$ but it’s totally worth it if you think about it. The HOMER app also includes the app Stories, when you have the subscription which is nice like getting 2 for a price of one. The stories is really nice. Only thing is I wish they’d put more. They do have quite a few though so it’s fine for now. The customer service is absolutely wonderful, if needed any help they get back to you & are very friendly. I would love to see more games! More activities to do for sure. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of HOMER. I definitely recommend especially if you have a toddler!!

Awesome reading app... my 4 yr old is reading. Downloaded the app mid January and began doing a lesson (level) every other day with my 4 yo son. He already knew his letters and phonics but was having difficulty putting sounds with multiple letters together. As we started to go through levels I really noticed improvement and by end of March he was able to read simple sentences with the words in each level. Each level has a story at the end for reading practice and after a month and a half he is reading them on his own. We also practice reading books with simple sentences and he can read most of the words. He does need some additional practice for reinforcement outside the app so we practice the words that confuse him. Overall, I would totally recommend this for preschoolers and kindergarten age children. Note the app needs to be utilized regularly as repetition is the key for learning in this app. Having your child do one level a week will probably not be the most helpful.

App no longer working!. We love homer! My daughter loves going on her iPad and doing her « schoolwork ». She uses it typically daily as a form of her homeschooling and gets a set amount of screen time just for homer. Until about a week or so ago and still to this day! The app no longer works on any device. We have reset multiple different devices, removed and re-downloaded the app on different devices and NOTHING works. The app just sits in a « loading » screen before you even get to choose what child is playing. It doesn’t load EVER no matter how long we let it sit. It isn’t our internet because everything else works just fine! I am very disappointed by this and hope it gets fixed soon because my daughter has not been happy without her homer, and on top of it- I am paying for something that cannot even be used right now!

Buggy. I wish this was better executed because the graphics are cute and my son likes the games. My first and primary gripe is how inconsistent and buggy the app is. I find myself having to restart the app a lot. Many of the activities take forever to load. The “Daily Play” is consistently a dud. It freezes when the game starts, then suddenly you hear “You did it! Wahoo!” then kicks you over to the next game where it does the exact same thing! I notice that Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) is a really big feature in these types of apps. SEL in sounds like a positive thing to teach (who doesn’t want their child to learn kindness? Or empathy?) but it has been hijacked by education ideologues intent on pushing an agenda many parents disagree with. Use this information how you want and keep your ears open.

Homer is the greatest app ever. My daughter is 2 going on 3, and she has been playing Homer since she had just turned 2. Watching her write her ABCs and learn sounds and words makes me feel so proud. I’m so amazed by the progress she has made, I have to give some credit to Homer! The best thing is she’s learning while having fun, which to me is the best way to learn. We started with the free trial and by the end of the first day I knew I was going to purchase the app. I even have fun playing with her! I love how she can grow with the game with the ‘Pathway’ as she gets older. The other amazing thing is Homer customer service. I was having issues with the app so I emailed Homer and they told me all I had to do was update to the newer version (the issue was totally on my end.) Customer service responded so quickly and were very friendly. I recommend Homer to anyone with a child age 2-8!

Very engaging resource!. My son whines about EVERYTHING he finds even slightly boring or uninteresting. He is struggling to start to read. I think he may even have a learning disability and most things I try with him make him whine 🙄 I saw an ad for this app and thought it was worth a try since it had a free trial. In two days I knew I found a winner. He looks forward to using the Homer app and finds it very engaging. He loves his “monkey teacher” and the stories and games! He gets excited when he levels up and can see his progress. It was easy to decide to continue with the program after the trial was over. This past week he started identifying small words in texts while we read together and he also started to spell small words to me by sounding them out. I added my 3yr old and she loves it too! She has speech problems and recently started speech therapy. This is the perfect additional resource to help me get her ready for pre-school and kindergarten. Thank you!

Homer will delete your account and leave you no recourse or refund. My kids have used this app for the past almost 3 years. Early last month all the data disappeared and when we attempted to restore the subscription we were paying for, the app said there was no subscription (not true, Apple religiously charges us $9.99/mo) and that there was never any account (which is hilarious 1) aforementioned using it for almost 3 years and 2) active subscription being charged!). Customer support was zero help. All the lackeys would say is “you don’t have an account with us.” No amount of monthly receipts or shots showing proof of the account would make them budge—“I can assure you you’ve never had an account with us.” At this point I’ll just cut my losses and go to another reading app that will be happy to let me sign up and take my money for a subscription. Oh and Apple gave me a refund for the several months going back that Homer now claims no account existed. I guess if no account existed, then I shouldn’t have had to pay for it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

A Creative and Innovative Experience my child loves!. I downloaded and subscribed to Homer with the hopes of getting my child interested in learning and reading at an early age and I couldn’t be happier with the result! With Homer, my son (age 4) has his interests and passions turned into personalized lessons and levels that he absolutely adores. He loves following along with his favorite characters and is showing more enthusiasm for learning every time we open the app each night. Even his teacher has noted to me him becoming more engaged with his schoolwork! Love the experience so far and would recommend to anyone who wants to show their children the magic of learning.

4/5!. My overall rating for this app is a 4/5 due to the fun and interactive lessons making learning fun for kids 2-8! There are a seeminlgy endless amount of activites with a variety of inegrative methods in multiple subjects (i.e Math and Reading). My favorite part about it is that it was developed from an "expert-designed" perspective so you know the lessons target basic skills kiddos need in school for those particular subjects. I also like that it is personalized for each child's age and learning level. This is a good way for them to learn indedependently as well as be creative with the interactive tools! It really helps kids have a base/foundation to practice new ideas and concepts to supplement what they learn in school as well.

Won’t refund. Homer says this is for ages 2-8, my child is 7. Looking for a fun educational app we signed up for the 7 day trial. After a few days realize it’s well below her level and she’s already not interested. Unfortunately, with all the end of year craze I forgot to cancel in time. On the 8th day they charge me and I catch it, I contact them immediately. They said since I got this app on my Apple device they are unable to refund me. I find this suspect since this has happened to me once before on another app here and that company gave me a refund with no hassle. I’m out $80 for AN APP, my child won’t use. I recommend if you start a trial to immediately cancel it, that way this won’t happen to you. Worst case scenario you have to sign up again if you like it. I personally preferred the Khan academy kids app.

No diversity. There is a complete lack of diversity. There’s plenty of “majority” representation, but very little for any marginalized groups. There are significantly more talking animals than people of color and the general “holiday” section is almost completely US based or Christian holidays. Only 2 holiday videos show any diversity, for hanukkah, but it’s clear watching them that they were written by a person who has never celebrated the holiday themselves. I emailed the customer service team and was told they’re “still working” on their commitment to diversity. Still working?? This app was released in 2013, if they haven’t figured out by now how to honor that “commitment” they aren’t even trying. I also asked if there was a way to opt out of the religious content, since it’s only focused on one religion, and was told no. We cancelled because I don’t give money to companies who only pretend to care about diversity and inclusion.

App keeps freezing. As somebody who is blind and artistic, this is one of the few apps that doesn’t cause me to have sensory overload with the character voices. The only issue I am having with it is it keeps freezing when I’m doing it nativity. Even when I turn the Internet off to use my mobile data, it still does that. on my phone, it either freezes or it sometimes runs very very slow. Please fix. I have an iPhone 11. sorry for the typos, I meant blind and autistic. Not artistic. Also, please bring back the HOMER stories! They were awesome! I really like the stories where it just basically reads it to you, like as if someone were reading you a stories like the homer originals that you guys used to have. that was cool. I like that you put real audiobooks in there though. And other than that, could you please fix the freezing issue? thank you and keep up the good work.

Games take up too much time. I've been trying to sit down with my child to do these together but as soon as the "tell the story" activity comes up she spends all her time doing that. I understand the value of using pictures to guide her imagination and that story telling is a skill she should learn but she's not telling the story, she's just treating it like stickers and it's very distracting and time consuming. The drawing game too. If it would come up less often them it could be more of a reward for completing a module. As it stands this is just a waste of our time and I'm going to invest in other reading apps. Maybe if there was a time limit to these it would be better. Or give us some way to disable them. Also it bothers me that the instruction is so rigid about how to draw the letters. Maybe this is important for some reason unknown to me but I think there are multiple ways to draw letters and it is frustrating that she can't do it the way she knows how.

Won’t let me in!. I’m not sure what to rate this app so I rated it three for now. I subscribed the 8$ a month to see what it was like, and after the transaction was complete it did nothing. No next button or arrow. I thought something must of gone wrong so I went back and pressed continue. It lead me to the subscription page again. I tried to subscribe again, but it said I had already, and that I could manage it. I tried pressing the manage button but when I did, it just said I could cancel or change it to the annual subscription. I kept trying different things. I’m not sure if I’m just missing something obvious, or there is a bug. If the developers can fix this, or point out the obvious, that would mean a lot. Anyway, I will write another review when (hopefully) I get into the app for my little sis.

Great in so many ways, spotty execution. This app has been amazing in helping our 4 year old learn to read. The games and exercises are engaging and well thought out. My son is definitely learning and enjoys it. Win! Some things, especially after the last big release are not so hot. The animations for the listening exercises slowed down SO much! They add what feels like an extra 5 minutes to each day’s lesson. Worse, it gives him time for his attention to wander. Also, the scene building game at the end of each lesson is just broken. Plain broken- we can’t scroll after we put down the first picture. Otherwise, we are quite happy with the app, though I do wish the exercises would challenge him a bit more. There’s a fine line between being easy enough to not get frustrated and challenging enough to make faster progress.

Can’t sign in without WiFi. Wanted to love this app-the content is great and my kids loved playing it. But it kept logging us out for no reason and wouldn’t let us sign in without being connected to the internet making it complete useless on our trips. I don’t understand why it needs to access the internet to log in or why it kept logging me out but it was so frustrating to never know if we’d get access or not. There is plenty to do in airplane mode-I tested it out beforehand to make sure, but that doesn’t matter when you can’t sign in without internet. I would love to try the app again once this is fixed, but as long as you need to be connected to WiFi to even open the app, it doesn’t work for our family.

I had no idea my son was this close to reading!. My kid is only 3.5 and we read to him every night but I never really pushed him to sound things out or write on his own. Then he started playing around on this app and he’s SO INTO IT! He is really starting to recognize “sight words” and tries spelling and sounding out words in our nighttime stories. The letters he’s tracing on the screen look awesome. The breaks he gets to draw and play along his “pathway” give him the break that keeps us BOTH more comfortable with this early learning. He’s having fun and I can see progress, this is screen time I honestly don’t feel any mom guilt about.

Pretty good would recommend. I’ve only used the free trial so far. Good: It is great supplement for teaching your child along with other learning lessons you teach them do not use this solely alone. It does teach a lot in one app and seems it lives up to its advertisement. My son really enjoys it. I like the engagement of getting to respond to what you’ve learned as well as questions at the end of the lessons. Love the idea of a “pathway” that is personalized for each child to what their likes are although I couldn't pick all of the likes in the beginning had only a certain amount but overall it is a very smart app and my son seems to really like it, he asks to play it and is learning some from it so I think I will buy maybe a month to month and see how it goes from there. Not so good: It does freeze up sometimes and when my son went back to record his voice of what he wanted to say again about the lesson it wouldn’t allow him to so you have to only do it when you compete it and are still on that page, doesn’t seem you can go back and record. I don’t like that the stories don’t exactly match or complaint the lesson taught and overall just wish there was more to it. Also, it seems to specialize in reading but for the price I would like it to also be all basic subjects. Overall: Pretty good, is simple learning. Has engaging, fun characters that seem to make the pathway exciting but wish there was more to it (subjects). :)

Perfect for Pre-K and Kindergarten Readiness. As a busy mom, I am so grateful for the Homer app! My daughter asks to have iPad time for Homer specifically. Before school let out, I was given a list of areas that my Naomi needed to work on prior to school starting in the fall as determined by her teachers. Homer actually gave a quick pre- assessment questionnaire in order to make a targeted learning path for her— I was so pleased to see that the path they created for her was exactly what her teachers said she needed to practice. There is a good mix of engaging reading and writing practice and Naomi is able to navigate with little to no help from me. Her brother (8) actually likes to do the work with her sometimes, laughing alongside her to the funny stories and cheering her on when she does the practices correctly. As a teacher and mother, I highly recommend!

Finally something that keeps his attention. We homeschool and my son (just turned 6) is so dang brilliant! Sometimes however, certain things do not hold his interest. Reading is one of those things. We’ve tried different curriculum, workbooks, other apps, flash cards, reading books, you tube videos... nothing held his attention (and other apps left him wandering around the page without actually working on the educational part of it). HOMER is the only app that has held his attention. It’s also the only app that is MAKING A DIFFERENCE! He actually enjoys learning how to read when it used to be the last thing on his mind. I’m so happy I’ve discovered homer for him. And get this! His 3 year old sister is also using the app and loving it. I am so happy to have this tool to use as an aid in their education!

The app is ok. I’m a lab elementary teacher and I was looking for some apps that would help get my own children off on the right foot for reading! They did enjoy the app, however my daughter became bored quickly with the sight words part of the game. They enjoyed the different songs, books, etc., however they have to download all of them. This obviously became a problem with each item. They also claim to be able to track your child’s progress. This isn’t accurate. You can see what your child sees in the app. No progress, no data, etc. I emailed to company a while back about this and didn’t receive a response. My kids enjoyed it, however didn’t learn very much. Looking for a new app...

Extremely frustrating. Learning to read can be a very emotional task. This app unfortunately does not help. I really wanted to like this app but after watching my daughter in tears for the 4th time because the app didn’t save her accomplished levels and dropped her back 2 levels, I realized it wasn’t worth the frustration. The app is very exciting when it works. Great celebration and sense of accomplishment but when that accomplishment is essentially taken away, that’s too much for a beginner to handle. Also, the app does not track progress between different devices. So if my daughter primarily works on her iPad and then maybe wants to use my phone, her progress will not display. To be fair, this is something they know and have admitted in there FAQ. All in all, there are many apps out there, find the one that will make the wonderful world of reading fun and not frustrating. One more thing, don’t bother contacting customer service, you will get no where fast.

GREAT App!!. Homer is by far my favorite educational app for my son right now. He is just about 2 and he already knows all of his uppercase and lowercase letters, plus his colors and numbers 1-12. I started looking for some educational apps because I wasn't sure what to help him learn next and we have tried several different apps but most of them are not user friendly for such young children. Homer is great and my son has no problems navigating it on his own! He loves it and is so obsessed and begs me to "pway game" "Ohmer!" I would definately reccomend this for little learners! After using it for a little over a month he now knows most of the sounds the letters make!

Beware. Literally the first review I have ever written on any APP. I started a limited time offer more then a year ago, Homer offered a special price for summer months. It was great for my kids who were in preschool. When my 3 months were up so was my access to the full APP. That is what I expected. Guess What?! Auto payment wasn’t! I have been autopaying for this Homer APP that didn’t even allow me access to the full APP for over a year! Wish I could share photos (I took screenshots) on here to show you how confusing and ridiculous the cancellation process was. To cancel this membership you have to go through a complicated process to complete you cancelation. One of the last pages of cancellation I was give a choice of to give feedback about the reason for canceling. Then clicking one of two buttons. One: Keep My Membership. And two, guess what it was?! Two: Keep My Membership. I am so disappointed by they way this company chooses to treat its customers.

Keep getting kicked out of my PAID subscription. I paid for a yearly subscription yet I keep getting my locked out of the app and promoted to purchase another subscription. I’m only 2 months into the yearly subscription. Customer service is clueless and keeps telling me my account expired despite my showing them the receipt for the yearly purchase. Apple told me to request a refund if it happened again but when it happens we again the refund option is no longer available. This has been an absolute waste of money based on this. The material in the app seemed to be good which is why I purchased it, but what good does that do me if we can’t access it?? Contacting customer has done nothing! I send them proof of my payment to Apple and they keep telling me my subscription is expired despite proof of the contrary. The only viable option is see is Apple giving me money back for the useless subscription.

Doesn’t work regularly. when I can get it to actually function this is my favorite app. I have 3 1/2-year-old twins and it’s great. However we have been paying for a subscription for six months and if I can figure out how to get to the App Store I’m going to cancel it. When I open up the app to try and set it up for my kids and I go to their path way more than 50% of the time I am on able to get it to load. We have 4G service and solid Wi-Fi in our home. All of the other educational apps work fine. It seems like it would be my problem but we are having the same issue on our other iPad and with none of our other apps so I have to assume it’s Homer. I came here today to see if I needed to download a different version or update it to see if maybe that was the problem

What’s more than 5 stars. So I read the reviews and I was won over instantly. I downloaded the game and signed up to pay $8 a month to have my son play it after the free trial. Now my son is super hyper and I never let him have screen time but he’s behind in talking and knowing what he needs to know. So I let my son play this game and at first I’m like is he just coloring but they make it fun with puzzles ,coloring, identify the coloring game with ice cream lava for the kids and at first he skipped them reading the abcs now he stands up and dance and sing the abc in his special talk he does and you can hear him pronounce them better. He loves that he can color with the sticker of the hot dog and burger. If I was to make a suggestion that thing that just have the letters go by and it has what the letter start with as it goes by then it sings the abcs at the end make it into a game because my son was trying to touch the letters and identify them as they go by so maybe like a hide and find with other things not like the game with the balloons but like have a farm background with other things and have them identify the letters as they go by and have it go by fast and see how much they can get as it go by I think that would be fun. Thank you so much for helping my son learn in a fun way I have literally told everybody I talk to with kids about this app.

Kindergarteners expected to read. Tried it because kindergarteners are expected to read. BEST PURCHASE EVER! Games and stories are short and keep interest. Content changes as my daughter continues along her pathway. She's already starting to recognize letters, even trying to name them. She saw a capital F and called it an E, but that's an amazing start! She loves making silly letter creatures and fairy stories with stickers. She can record her voice at the end of some of the stories, and the really great thing about that is that I can access all of her sticker pictures, voice recordings and such. Speaking of stories, there is a wide variety, including informational text, fantasy, science fiction, etc. and she gets to choose between three different stories each time. For as cheap as it is every month and how much my daughter is learning, this is the best purchase I've ever made!

Love it so far. My older daughter is dyslexic and her teacher noticed that she was struggling to have confidence with reading. Came across this on Pinterest one day and decided to try it. We have only been using the free trial for a few weeks and we love it!! My younger daughter is addicted to it right now. She is using the preschool pathway and loves everything. My older daughter is on the growing reader pathway and is gaining confidence, even if she is sometimes bored (it’s geared more towards younger children and she’s 8). I run a very small prekindergarten for about 6 of my friends kids. Our neighbor is incredibly bright for her age (newly 5 and can read chapter books) so I made her and her little brother profiles. However, it has her on the pre-k pathway and she says that it is really easy. Her brother is only 2 and is on the same pathway as my youngest(3). I remember that when I made my first profile, I gave me the option to chose another profile for my older daughter but I can’t do that now. Is their anyway that I can chose the pathway I think they should be on? Overall, this is a really lovely app for any child who wants to have an educational boost. Totally recommend!!!!

Just realized that I have been paying a monthly fee for two months for nothing. I first saw this app through a Carter’s shipment ad and installed it on my daughters iPad to try (There should be a trial period according to Carter’s ad, may be 2 or 3 months) We tried the entire day (because this would be her first app, so she insisted quite a lot) but this app was never opened so I found another one for my daughter. I had no idea how much this app or what would be the trial term, but since we tried all day that day and could not be successful, I just gave up. Today I realized that this app is making me pay a monthly fee of $9.99 since two months😳 We have never opened the app, never been able to use, even for once, and paid all those money! My suggestion to all future customers would be to go to their settings and cancel their subscriptions in case that they will face the same problem as we do. Apple chat support warned me that it is not enough to delete an app if it is a subscription even during the trial period. Sorry I am not an insider since I have never been able to use the app but I also don’t believe that I am the only person who faces a such problem so wanted to warn you all.

Was asking me to creat account every time!. I was so excited about this app, but every time it was asking me to creat account although I was already subscribed and agreed to the monthly payment and received the confirmation email! When it was going through successfully the orientation of the screen was not right and I was not able to change it to landscape no matter how many times I tried different approach! Maybe it hasn’t been designed for iPhone 10

Great app. My daughter loves it, and is learning well

Rip off. You guys made me pay for a month and it has been a week. What is wrong with you people. You said that it is 74% boost but it has to be 100% to boost your learning. Don’t believe these scammers.

Super bad update. They used to let u read books but now you have to pay

This is app is nice!. The app teaches kids a lot!

My 2 and a half year old son love this! Great kids app. My son especially likes the folk songs so I go through usually one lesson of phonics then he gets to listen to 'Jenny Jenkins' or any other song. The bright clear pictures in the stories and lessons are great and he likes to choose the cupcake hat. Please add some more songs soon!

Learn to read, not paint!. Is there an option to remove paint and tell your own story from the activities? There is no time limit or end to these activities and I feel my children could do without them. They paint/draw every day. This is wasting the time limit I have set for their time on this app.

Bad app do not download this app. I have been using it app and I can’t do anything nathing works out do not download this app

More than just a 'learn to read' app. Although Learn With Homer is primarily a literacy educational app, my children found the 'Discover the World' elements to be their favourites. The variety of topics and the level of detail is just about right for pre-school or early school years. The 'Learn to Read' elements are supported with sections of stories, songs, poetry and puzzles, and I like that these are drawn from many cultures and eras, not just your standard 'Mother Goose' collection. The only downside of such rich content is that the app can be a little 'heavy' on your your iPad's memory usage if you download a lot of lessons (especially if you are letting the kids use your device and their games are amongst your other content), but fortunately you can manage what content is stored locally and re-download content if you've removed it quite easily through your account profile. A great app - well designed and has substance.

I have paid. Required to refund before no response.. I have paid and request to refund no response. I cannot log in the account. Every time login ask for payment again and again. No service at all

Annoyed. Im in Australia so i paid $104 for a year membership and im having problems, it has once again lost my log in and just keeps saying start ur free trial. I need help because my ipad has for some reason lost my details for the game, either help me get it back or refund my money!

Nothing to encourage active participation; just passive viewing. Such promise, but our little one’s getting stuck with this app: I thought Homer would have a sequence that interleaved different kinds of activities - interactive and otherwise - to keep things moving along, but it’s got this “stories” and “songs” section that he found very quickly and is just sitting and watching those passively. I also had hoped that there would be a progression of activities to meet kids at the level that they are at, but the structure of the app is such that our little one is continually thrown in the deep end, doing activities well beyond his current level of understanding, and thus getting frustrated. It seems little better than Netflix at this point, as far as use of time goes. An unfortunate oversight on the part of the Homer team which seems to largely defeat the purpose of the app.

Good content, poor customer service. My children used to love this app, so if you’re happy to pay for a subscription I’m not saying it’s not worth it. However, I purchased the app outright and now can’t gain access to it as it later moved to a subscription service. I feel a bit ripped off as I think that when you’ve bought it outright, it’s yours to use. Now I can’t gain access to any content (not even the content I used to be able to access, which is all I want to be able to use) without paying for a subscription. The troubleshooting on the website is terrible too.

Last update is terrible. Typically love this app, however the recent update makes it feel like a waste of money. It takes 5 minutes to load open once selecting a child’s profile, and for my eldest it won’t open the next game/level so he is stuck as the levels won’t progress

Awesome app, well done!. Fabulous app. My children love it, and it has improved their reading skills dramatically! The content is informative, interesting, and relevant... perfect for developing and inquisitive minds. Well done on wonderful app!

Slow and certain games don’t load. It used to be better but I’m finding a lot of games do not actually load and will just automatically give a medal to the player without having achieved anything. Waste of money.

What a con. I just went to the trouble of downloading, selecting my child’s stage and interests for this so called free app only to find that after 30 days I will be charged per month. Stop wasting parents time!

Sorry if you hate me now. You need money for the trial AND I’M SORRYY IF YOU HATE ME NOWWWWWWWWW

Don't like the sign up process. After downloading you have to sign up with an email address. THEN to get access you have to agree that you will get a month free trial and then be billed over $100 for a year's membership. You have to sign in with your Apple ID. Does this mean that unless you specifically go through the dance of cancelling before your months up you automatically get charged over $100 to your iTunes account? Incredibly expensive for an app and I'm not willing to find out...

Cool. I love the app so much its just so fun

Seriously - this is a must have. So well thought out. As your child moves through the lessons, you can almost see the light bulb going off above his head. No pressure either (like timers, etc) so children can just learn at their own pace.

Nothing is free. There is not single items free for kids. Try something else instead of wasting time here.

The kids love it!!. A really well designed app. Our 3yo and 6yo both love it. We heard about it from a friend of a friend of a friend and thought we'd try it out with our kids whilst on holiday in Mexico. Their positive response was immediate. Looking forward to further development from these guys.

Not very impressive. Purchased but don't think it's good enough.

Charged the card for Trial period. Can’t understand why my card was charged for a supposed to be a FREE Trial period? I have provided the details thinking the card will not be charged until 30 days trial, but you still charged me?

So incredibly awesome - and beautiful!. What a wonderful, wonderful app - have only just downloaded it, but seriously beautiful - and smart. A great combo of phonics, and even better - general knowledge topics for kids. Definitely easy for kids to follow on their own and be curious. Plus there is a great function that allows kids to record their ideas/thoughts plus draw their own artworks - you can then share those with your family. Brilliant stuff for their scrapbook!

?. We only used it for 40 mins and my son wasn’t interested so I unsubscribed but reading all the comments is scaring me I hope it’s not a scam can sumone help pls what can I do

Almost perfect. I use Homer for four of my five children. The app has a great interface and has engaged one of my reluctant learners. The only (and it's tiny) thing I would love to see included is the option to upload an image of the child for their profile for those who can not yet identify their name - my youngest child is two years old and enjoys the app but struggles with the ”who is playing section” and with her growing independence of ”me do it pweeze” a photo option would make this so much easier.

Not working. Hi, my child loves this app, it hasn’t worked for a while now. Please fix.

Too easy for my 7 year old kid. I tried to make the app harder for my 7 year old but it keeps on saying she is at the right level (although she has mastered all exercises. My 4 year old is doing great.

Love. I absolutely love this app, I wasn’t completely sure how well it was working until I went to the movies with my 3 and a half year old and she saw the numbers on the seats and said, look mummy that’s the number forty three! My friend and I were in shock. It has taught my daughter so much!!

Duped by this unethical business!. Downloaded this useless app, and they automatically charge you the highest rate without any warning after your trial period. Absolutely no notice of their charge. Will be taking legal action against this business.

🤔. Does this app only work properly on certain devices?? My daughter has been using it on my iPhone 6, majority of the time she can’t see the whole screen properly so she’s just guessing and pressing answers

No good!. Just downloaded and it won’t do anything. Dissapointing when I had Head such good things.

Confusion. Is it just me but when I uploaded this game I was really confused. My child heard all about this game and when she uploaded it and asked me to help her I didn’t know where to tap. My husband also had some trouble there is also a lot of glitches and my daughters iPad is a week new Please if your reading this fix the changes and also like me on tiktok

Broken cant move pass P on ios 12. Tried 3 different ipads. Please fix

Super. My 6 year old you struggles with alphabet and reading - really is into it and i see sooo much educational benefit! Stories are wonderful and paintings are easy, songs, downloading - all very thought through!!!! I also tried this app with 3 and 4 year old - absolutely wonderful!!! Price - like one book a month from the shop - defo worth it !!!!!

It’s fun for a 4 yo. My 4 year old uses homer. We like it because the activities are short and easy unlike some other educational games we’ve tried and the levels are passed quickly which builds confidence and make it more enjoyable for my child

So good for the kids. My friends was recommended me this great app for my children. They said that with this app, the children can learn and have fun on the same time. That is the best way for kids to learn quickly and they will remember what they have learn for a longer time. The graphics working fine. I sure will introduced this great app to my colleges, so they can take this to there children, and help them have much more fun for learning. Thanks to the developer, you have created an amazing app for kids. Thanks again and hope this app will be better and better in the future.

Dodge. I paid my subscription (yearly) app stopped working after a month. I emailed for help twice. No reply Very disappointed!

Fraud..!!! WARNING!! Dodgy..!!!. This HOMER App was stolen my credit card details through Apple. I paid and purchased through Apple Apps Store for 3 mths of this apps. HOMER took my payment details and charged me automatically direct debit without my authorisation through their third party company since July 2019 throughout April 2020. Please please check your bank statement. The cancellation of subscription from Apple Apps will not stop HOMER continuously charged you directly monthly. BEWARE..!!! I reported to Apple and currently is under the process of investigation. I emailed the company, HOMER refund only the past 2 mths for almost 1 year they stole my money. SHAME..!! BECAREFUL!!

Thought it was good at first. Tried the app as a trail, and it worked fine , my son seemed to enjoy it . After subscribing to the app I found that I could no longer access it or the email account I used to open it with .. I had no problems with the account until I actually made the payment for it .. and I cannot use it at all .. there goes 80 dollars down the drain ...

Money. $$$$💔💔💔

A fantastic app!. As the father of a 4 year old, I find many online apps or programs to be woefully lacking in functionality, comprehensiveness and style. Learn with Homer is the complete opposite. Well thought out and intuitvie with an engaging interface and a fun design, this is a fantastic learning tool. What's more important is that my 4 year old daughter thinks the same !!! Thanks - great work.

Terrible and doesn’t work. I had to enter the details over a dozen times for the free trial and it wouldn’t let us open any of the activities. I’m worried I have accidentally subscribed but can’t find where to cancel it in the settings in the App Store. The sounds are also very difficult to understand due to the strong American accent. Please help me unsubscribe before I am charged. I only downloaded it and set it up an hour ago and it has been nothing but trouble.

Takes a while to open. Great app but sometimes it won’t open and I have to deleted it and download it again. For it to work I think needs a update besides that it’s amazing and my kids love it!!

Dodgy business. I pain my subscription direct via Homer. My kids aren’t really interested in the app, so I cancelled the subscription. For some reason, after working through the ridiculously long unsubscribe rubbish & receiving “confirmation” that I had successfully unsubscribed, I was still subscribed to the monthly auto-renew. I found out after another notification of new charges & have just attempted to unsubscribe twice more & my account is still set to auto-renew. Be careful how you sign up to this service. There is something dodgy with their service.

Homer is brilliant!. This is a brilliant and one of a kind learn-to-read app for kids. Homer is very comprehensive -cleverly combining a phonics program, wonderfully illustrated stories, facts about the world, and art activities in a very engaging and fun way for kids. Both my 3and 5 yr olds absolutely love it , and I don't feel guilty handing over the iPad anymore as Homer is so educational. I highly recommend it!

Free trial. Can’t access free trial without putting in payment details. Free trial should be accessed without doing this and then add details if wanting to continue.

Totally a scam. I was excited to start homer reading until you have to pay MONEY hey homer did you know that there’s such thing as free education in this country why waste money on education when this country has its own free education system no thank you instead why don’t we just go to school that doesn’t cost anything 2 stars Homer start doing FREE education

App glitches. It’s great when it works but the app is constantly closing down

This is scam. I downloaded the app and spent minutes on answering many questions but the app is not even free to try

Im getting charged. I am getting charged 13.99 for this and i don’t even have a subscription 💀💀💀

They tricked you to sign up for a yearly plan. Downloaded the app and signed up for free trial and they just charged you for a YEARLY plan right away after the period. I just want to get on a monthly plan and there’s no way to reverse it. Very frustrated!!!

Love it!. Loved this app for my kiddos. However my kiddos have now outgrown it. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to cancel the payments though.

Disappointed. My child didn’t really like this app compared to others but i kept with it. That was until I was being emailed recommendations for other poor sites (paid referrals), as if they are currently making of money from me.

Garbage App. My son is so disappointed on this app. This app keep crashing anc we keep on getting black screen! Fix this cuz we’re paying for it and its not cheap!

Charge you even when you cancel the subscription. They charged me $75 even tho I deleted the app as my daughter does not like it. As a single mom it’s not something I can justify when it’s not even being used

How do I cancel!!??. Can’t seem to get this overpriced app cancelled! I don’t want it!

Unable to access my account after renewed subscription. Impossible to get anyone to resolve the issue with a renewed subscription. Cannot log into my account and it keeps asking me to renew my purchase after I have been billed. Terrible experience as my daughter is unable to move to the next level.

Update. Game keeps shutting down.

Disappointed. I paid for the yearly membership for my 3 yr old daughter. The app keeps crashing. It’s very frustrating for both me and my daughter. Would like a refund.

Very glitchy and bad free trial. App was good when it was working but it had so many glitches, that my child got very annoyed and it made them not want use it. Also I was supposed to have a free trial for a month but a week after downloading, it wouldn’t allow me to progress and it was forcing me to pay to continue. Terrible! Would not recommend.

Expensive but good app. My daughter has been using this as a very beginner(to reading). She really enjoyed it for a while, but has quickly become too easy. I wish there was a way to skip ahead if the child finds a part too simple. To make it more challenging/more interesting. She has now lost interest. Very good app to start tho.

Stop charging me!. I have canceled and they continue to charge me! Scam.

Crashes soo much! So annoyed. Great app! Paid so much money but crashes so much! Very annoying

Rip off. The $8 Learn to read fee sounded like a one-time fee. It’s not! I was charged monthly. It is way too much and misleading. I will never purchase an app from this company again.

Misleading, requires too much info. Appears free, it’s not. And there is so much info and accounts to open when you open it, we just deleted and found something else that was easier.

Meh.. Many low quality animations games and songs. I preferred the learning path they had before the update.

Runs sooo slow. Unfortunately the app is so slow to load and then many error messages.

Too expensive. Before it was said that I have to pay 6 dollars thn it suddenly turn out no it’s 12 or so.

Stop use this game. This game is forcing you child no one here wants to be forced right

They took money from me.. I did not request a renewal after a year and yet they renewed it. My child did not use it and every request I made to cancel or refund was either thwarted by apple or ignored. I would like my 80 dollars back, pretty please.

Do not subscribe. It doesn’t say it in the description but the content ends. I subscribed for the year but my daughter finished all the learning paths in 3 months and now I’m stuck with a useless subscription. Someone should say that the content ends and the app will become useless. The dev says to just redo the content, but this is a terrible answer because kids get bored if they have to repeat!

Outrageous!. I had to make a account and go through tons of work. Just to find out you have to pay for it. Ridiculous!!

Not Compatible with Screen-time/Parental Controls. We subscribed to this application but instead of a program that functions within its own platform, it seems to link to websites. We have Internet browsers strictly controlled on our children's devices except for websites that have been entered manually into a list of "allowed websites." When the links within the Homer application jump to a browser window, a white screen appeara with the error message: "Restricted Site You cannot browse this page at "localhost" because it is restricted." and there is no website addresses displayed, so I am unable to add anything into the list of allowed websites. As a cosequence, we are left with an application that is not usable.

Incredible learning. This app has taught my 2 1/2-year-old so much when I set out to teach her alphabet I went to standard ABC route but homer taught it in a fashion that’s easier for them to understand. She is almost 3 now and can write 10+ letters as well as sound out letter sounds this app is worth every penny! She can also play matching games and spot the differences in pictures! She’s very confident in her speech!

We love it. We love it and have used it since our little guy was 2 years old. He’s now three. He’s learned a lot from the app and really enjoys playing it. It’s the only app he uses on his iPad. I don’t mind the monthly fee because we get so much use out of it and the levels keep coming. He has learned colours and letters and a bunch of songs etc from this. He was speech delayed so some of the little videos have also helped with that. It’s worth the money.

Misleading. Why can’t someone make a good quality app that doesn’t mislead you and milk you for money before you can do anything? Super frustrating. Don’t download this app unless you want to pay a $60 subscription before you can check anything out. Download baby piano by bimi boo. Great free app with true in app purchases.

Beware of subscription. Tried this app and was disappointed in it and was sure I had cancelled it but was charged for months - i will say I should have kept an eye on my account but it never flagged as Homer and instead said apple.com on my bill. Frustrating.

I was charged almost $100. I didn’t give them a bank account number.

I love it. My kids love using the app. I had it first fir my 6 year old, helped him read faster and now my toddlers are on it and it’s helping my son with speech delay to speak more and he’s getting challenged each day. He loves hearing the stories and loves to write out the letters of the alphabet. I am on a monthly subscription and that’s a bit expensive but will use it for now.

Learning made fun & interactive. We’ve been using the app with my 3 year old for a few weeks now and it’s something she looks forward to very much. We love the wide variety of games and activities that cover many topics such as reading colors alphabet numbers etc. she would spend many hours on it if I let her but we limit it to max 30 mins each time. We’re very happy with all the learning that’s happened in just these few first weeks!

The worst. I didn’t never wanted to get charged for this I asked them to stop charging me but they continue to charge me money, how to I cancel my subscription?

Do not try this. I don’t know how Apple lets this on their App Store, it’s a complete rip-off! Downloaded the free trial knowing it was subscription based but cancelled it on the first day since my son was not interested. Then 3-4, maybe more months of getting charged $8-$9 for it wondering why but forgetting to look into it. Finally remembered but could not find any email proof that I cancelled, I then cancelled again in November (have email confirmation this time). I was then charged Dec 10 for another renewal. Now I’ll have to waste time on Apple customer service to fix this.

Request for refund. I cancel my subscription a month ago but this app charged my twice which is unacceptable. I haven't received any response after submitting my complaint.

DOESNT WORK!. Haven’t been able to use my month I paid for at all!!

Do not support this app!. I subscribed to this app for the trial intending to cancel my subscription before the trial period ended. I set a reminder in my phone because I knew I would forget as we all know how busy life can get with children. Meanwhile, all my reminders were unfortunately unintentionally deleted. I of coarse, forgot to unsubscribe. So what did this app do...? They changed me for a whole YEAR! I wrote them to explain what happened and stated that I had no problem paying for a month as it was my mistake, but a year is excessive! Of coarse, I go no reply to my email. I will not support this app and I will do what I can to ensure no one else does!

Bugs. My daughter enjoys it, but it freezes too often she gets frustrated after a few minutes and gives up every time. Not worth the money for a game that doesn’t work long enough to learn anything. Will not be continuing to pay for this

Beware. You sign up and a month later you get an email saying oops! You have been enjoying this app for 12.99 a year but we made a mistake you actually signed up for 12.99/ month but don't worry next year when you renew we will only charge you for the full year so it’s only 4.99 a month, but hey continue to enjoy it at this inflated price till then. Seriously? Um? Yeah I’ll cancel thanks.

It sucks. It’s absolutely horrible

Can’t login to access subscription. The app asks to login and I try to used Forgot password feature but receive no email. If I try to start a new trial or subscribe again the app says I have a subscription and try logging in, so I have no way to access my subscription or start a new one. Send support request through the website but no response. Send message through Facebook and no response. Think twice before you decide to subscribe and be willing to deal with frustration from horrible customer support experience.

They emailed me after I cancelled the free month. They offered the app for $0.99 per month direct from HOMER rather than the $7.99 per month subscription through Apple. Very shady. Not impressed with their lack of integrity and I won’t pay for it even at $0.99 per month. My kids like the app but it didn’t keep their attention amazingly or show a marked improvement in their literacy skills. Meh.

It stops working. My son enjoys it. But it is buggy and stops working very often. After clicking on next topic, many times system keeps waiting and does not bring next topic. Unsubscribing...

Not working. We (accidentally) paid $80 for a year subscription yet they app doesn’t work on our multiple, up to date Apple products. It gets stuck on the loading screen or if we get past that (by deleting and redone loading the app) it freezes after completing one activity. I have emailed support numerous times and no response! I feel like they stole my money.

Overcharged. They offered this for CAD $79.99 per year or $9.99 per month. Eight months ago, I signed up for the annual option and was immediately charged $79.99 plus tax. They also proceeded to charge me monthly at $11.30/month. Although I have contacted them numerous times this problem has not been resolved and I’ve now paid more than $200 since November 2019.

Very disappointed. We have tried for months now and in all devices progress is not being saved and tracking children’s progress as promised by the app is not available. I have waisted several months on this and it’s been far and wide useless. Do not fall for this app as it does not deliver. Youtube has amazing resources just as good and it’s free. I did try and contact customer support but it was useless. Homer is simply not worth the subscription price not the quality on their application.

Help. I purchased a monthly subscription… but it wouldn’t let me create an account with my ipad… the password bar wouldn’t let me type anything in…

Inconsistent pricing. Emailed them as they apparently were offering it at 7.99 but now it’s 9.99USD mind you I am Canadian. Subscription on here says $10.49 CAD so what the hell is the price? If I were them I’d offer it at whatever price I saw rather than lose a customer. Also, glitchy and repetitive.

Not Free. They trick you into signing up for a monthly service before you can start using the app.

Great, but bugs are causing issues. My son loves this, and it has been so helpful to him, but he’s now unable to progress. He completed a pathway, but it won’t unlock the next area for him. He was able to move onto the next section temporarily, but when he closes out or clicks home, it resets his progress back to the previous section and won’t let him continue. He has redone the same section a few times trying to get it to let him move forward, but nothing is working. Please fix this bug.

Amazing App!. I work with a young child who is in a fifth grade self contained classroom. He has autism and is learning how to read sight words. The use of the sight word games on this app are especially helpful through the use of repetition and multimodal features. He is mastering eight words better than before thanks to Homer. He stays engaged and has a smile on his face while using the app. He is able to navigate the app and he loves the memory games!! HOMER is worth the money I’d recommend this for any teacher who works with students in a special education classroom or general education classroom. — MSEd.

Updated: Subscribed but not able to access. We downloaded the app and registered our cc details for monthly deductions but we were not able to access the app. UPDATE: we were contacted by customer support who found a glitch, fixed it and then were kind enough to extend our free trial since we had lost some time. We have been using the app for two weeks. It was worth the effort. The pace of some of the exercises is quicker than in other apps so keeps our daughter engaged. She loves the games and voice recordings. This app works for us and I would recommend it. In addition, customer support was great.

The best reading app I found. I’m a teacher and I was looking for an app that would gradually teach my daughter how to read. I’ve tried a lot of different apps, including ABC mouse, Teach my monster and nothing even comes close. Homer was the only app that came close to having a real curriculum. My daughter absolutely loves it, she always asks to play. She started out with learning letters and now she’s is on to reading simple words. It’s was glitchy for two weeks, but I think they fixed it because it works perfectly fine now.

Won’t save. I was really excited to use this app during the corona quarantine to help my daughter improve her reading skills. The content we used so far seemed fine. However on the second day when we logged back in it hadn’t saved any of her progress. We emailed homer about it and she did the first couple sections again. The following day all of her progress was gone again and we had to start from the beginning. We waited a couple days for homer to reply and fix the problem but they still haven’t. She now has the first three lessons down but we can’t get any further without saving so we will be deleting the app.

Continually charged.. I paid a yearly fee a few months back and now I’m getting billed through my Apple Account because they have no records of payment because it was through the developer. Honestly it was so glitchy and would freeze so I would spend more time trying to help my 4 year old twins than actually playing that I haven’t opened it up in almost two months. So, I’m pretty bummed. The teacher in me loved the phonemic awareness that it was trying to work on, which is why I purchased hoping it would stop freezing or taking my kids back to the beginning. But now that I’m paying AGAIN and for a monthly higher price, I’m REALLY disappointed and feeling like it was a dishonest system.

The worse than anything I have downloaded!!!. The worse app I have ever downloaded to my Daughter’s iPad. When I launch the App the video would freeze, or if I tried downloading a new video the app would not respond. We tried downloading the video over WiFi but the video would not download. We are using the latest IOS 12 update. I deleted the App and contacted Apple support to get out monthly $7.99 refund. Apple support will not refund our $7.99 monthly subscription plan despite deleting the App before the renewal period. I did not know that I have to also cancel the subscription too, so the February 23rd monthly renewal charges my card the $7.99. Is there away to get my $7.99 for the month of February. Thanks!!!

Disappointed. We have used Homer consistently from spring 2020 until the update around October 2020. During that time, we loved it. After the update, it constantly tells us that we are offline even though my device is connected to the internet. It doesn’t want to load the learning path and I keep updates current on my device. We’ve even tried using other devices and have the same issue. We haven’t used the app for a few months and decided to give it another try. Made sure the app was current and still having the same issues. I’m canceling my membership because I am not paying for something that we cannot use.

Life Saver!. My daughter had a stroke at birth and it affects her speech and language. She’s been in speech therapy for almost a year now. She’s two. I got this app, and more of the Homer apps, 2 days ago and she can already recognize colors and letter and is even starting to say them!! She begs to play the game. She will even bring me my iPad, tug on my shirt, and bring me to her big pink chair. I can’t thank the creators enough!! This app truly saved us! It’s been such an asset with her condition and she’s already doing so much! I’ve never had a app make me cry.... Thank you!

Learned lots initially. My child learned a lot initially, but it seems to be more game oriented since the upgrades, so she learns a lot less, and it’s glitchy often which causes her to have to start over a lot. In fairness, it’s possible that my daughter just found ways to play the games more and longer, so having a timer in the app would be helpful to keep them moving in the right direction. But the glitches seem more and more common. It grew out of favor and we rarely use the app these days. It’s worth a try for parents interested. Maybe they’ve made improvements, but monitor closely to be sure it’s meeting you and your child’s needs.

Glitchy. My sons iPad was super glitchy with this app and then I downloaded it on my iPhone X and it is not displaying properly. I wanted to be able to use this app at home and on the go for learning but it’s just leaving me frustrated. Not only that but every single time we reopen the app it asks us to back sign back in. My kid is not going to be able to do that on his own each time he wants to use it. Of course I can do it for him but I wanted this to be an app he would want to play on his own. When the app wasn’t glitching he was enjoying it.

I’m so far impressed. I just download this app, and I’m definitely the one to not ever leave a comment or say much, but I love this app, my son is struggling in school with sight words , so I thought I’ll give it a try, listen guys this app is amazing , I’m more excited than he is. He loves this. Homer is his new friend. Lol ,he wakes up wanting to go on homer, I hear 15 minutes a day, but he’s on there for 2 hrs a day that how much he loves it. I told a friend about it, now she download the app . I wish we had this growing up. #TEAMHOMER

Confidence and learning. Screen time has always something I’ve dreaded dealing with as my daughter got older but now at 2.5 she knows all her letters and is growing more confident and excited about learning and problem solving and I know that part of the success has been Homer reading! She begs to play her learning path and exclaims I’m good at this! And even when she gets frustrated she’s challenged to continue and learn and is so gratified when she succeeds. I love it and suggest it to everyone that asks! I’m always Leary of paid apps, especially for kids, but this has been fair more than worth it!

Bugs with freezing and losing progress. Early every other time my son uses this app it will freeze and when we restart it, we’ve lost a lot of his progress. (Once he went from being on Letter W to letter G!! He is so disheartened every time it happens. It’s probably happened to him half a dozen times now. I’m writing after he just lost a whole morning’s worth of progress. This app is successfully teaching him his letters. He loves it. The content is quality and I’ve been really satisfied with that. If these bugs can’t be fixed though, we’re going to have to cancel our subscription. He will continue to be less and less interested if he can’t keep moving forward.

So glad I found this app. Unlike another popular and highly advertised preschool educational app, Homer engaged my son’s interest instantly. Instead of trying to stimulate my kid with loud noises, bright colors, and bouncing graphics, Homer keeps my kid interested by tailoring the lessons to his academic level, using themes he’s interested in for his age, and is perfectly balanced between being both simple and challenging. His confidence when using it is obvious, and the lessons are actually sticking because he practices what he learns outside of the app when playing and talking with my husband and I. We LOVE Homer!

What free trial?!. I downloaded the app for my three year old granddaughter and selected the free limited access. She went thru it in just a matter of ten minutes tops. After that to continue on the my pathway it kept shoving the sign up paying access in our face and would do nothing more. Even if I clicked on free downloads it did nothing other than want me to subscribe to their subscription. I probably would have if the developers wasn’t so demanding about subscribing because she really liked it. I just expected to get at least a little bit more out of it before I put my money in it. Ten minutes tops don’t peak my interest at all to want to put my money in this app. I will be uninstalling as I’m sure there’s better apps that’s focused less on your money but more on your child’s learning abilities.

Wonderfully helpful app. I have dealt with many families using the app and getting them accustom to the app. First thing is that it is very easy to understand and navigate. Have had many cases of confused people attempting to use it and after a few minutes understand it enough to use it to its full potential. Second it is awesome and really works!!! The games are easy and fun but really get kids interested and learning leaps and bounds ahead of others their age. Overall solid system and app.

Technical Issues. My son was so excited to get this app. I downloaded it and bought the year subscription. Started the free trial. We got to play it for 15-20 mins and the glitches started. Pages wouldn’t load. Just sat spinning. Made sure everything was up to date. Restarted iPad. Redownloaded the app and still just spins and spins. Our internet connection/speed are good. Not sure what the issue is but we were disappointed. Cancelled and deleted in the same day I downloaded it. The app has so much potential. I think if they can get these issues ironed out it will be great. I will be on the look out for updates and hopefully we can reinstall and renew subscription.

This is not just a learn to read app.... I started using Homer for my 2 year old with a speech delay. The app is easy to use and he loves all the little games, stories, and songs. The subscription price is not too expensive and is worth it for all the fun and learning you get. I had an issue with not being able to get the app to work on a new device. Customer support responded to my email and had me up and running within the hour! If you haven’t tried this app yet, do it! It’s one of our favorites.

Fit for any learner!. Not only have I been able to help multiple families get access to homer I have had the opportunity to use this app with my little cousins who LOVE it! The fact that they are able to record their voice and listen to it later (OR mom and dad later on) was a major game changer for them. They are both complex learners so since this app helps them learn to read by, speaking, visualizing, playing games, and repeating the words has been extremely helpful!

Awful, with zero customer support. I really wanted to like this learning app. It seemed like something I could get the kids engaged with instead of the mindless games they usually want to play. However, since day 1 I haven’t been able to get in. The app says there is a problem with my email and password but there is no reset on any screen I can access. I have contacted customer service at first they couldn’t find my account but if I try to make a new account, my email comes up as already in use. The free trial has run out and now they are billing me for something I still can’t get into. Funny how they can find my account to bill me but not to help me. My more recent attempts to reach out to customer service have gotten no response.

Child Loves It. Update: iPad Pro 11” support has been added! No more ugly black bars. Thank you for listening and quickly implementing support. This app is now worthy of 5 stars. My child loves it! Original comment: I would give 5 stars but for a monthly subscription, I would hope to see the latest devices supported. App has ugly black bars and doesn’t make full use of our 11” iPad Pro (gen 3) screen. It’s been out for 7 months and I thought Apple required all devs to support XS Max and 11” iPP starting March 27th?

Dislike Pathways SO Much. Long time Homer user (almost 3 years, 2 kids). The new pathways are terrible. The Learn-To-Read was much better. Not worth the $75 a year. Still crashes a lot too. Cons of Pathways: - no autonomy on lessons - profiles aren’t phonetic/letter identification focused (ex: my youngest only gets stories read to him and gives him color choosing games - no letter combo mastery to start reading) - not goal oriented - no “mastered” letters or vowels (or mastered letter combos such as “pat”) -no clear learn to read area means my kids may have to search through the games to find letter tracing or letter identification - app becomes overall less reading-oriented due to above Before with Learn-To-Read: - easy consonant/vowel learning combos (ex: P, T, A, becomes early reading of tap/pat) - can go back to completed sections for review if needed - clear “end” after 26 lesson trees - had distinct areas for letter learning vs education games (such as color identification, etc) Just very disappointed. Loved and used to recommend this app to many parents. Now want my money back. Do not recommend unless they change the app back to previous structure which actually used to help my kids learn to read.

My four year old loves this app. My four year old enjoys this app and that’s sayings a lot because she doesn’t tend to like practicing sounds or letters. She uses this around 15 minutes a day and it has improved her sounds dramatically. The only issue I’m having is I am not able to download her pathway to other devices. Every time I download using my information I get a different child’s pathway. I have spent countless time trying to get her pathway on other devices and nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Love this app. My daughter is super engaged with this app and views it as playtime and a reward, which makes me feel great about letting her play it for a while. She has learned so much in a short period of time. It advances quickly enough to hold her interest but slow enough so she isn’t discouraged. The best part is she can do it all be herself. One suggestion for the developers is to make the font much bigger on the reading stories activities. It is so tiny on my iPhone that it’s even hard for me to read. I would also shorten the sentences so it isn’t as daunting for beginning readers.

Fantastic again...after overcoming connection problems. Can’t recommend this app enough.. Long-time subscriber. This WORKS, and our kid LOVES it. However, ALL our devices (3) just spun and spun due to what the app said was a “connection problem” upon starting the last week or so. Tried numerous ways to try to remedy this. Here’s what worked for us: 1) Double-tap Home button, then swipe-close all apps (at least Homer). 2) Delete the app. When asked, DON’T delete your user data. 3) Hard-reset your iPad or iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons until the device cycles through a power-down and you see the reboot begin by seeing the Apple logo. 4) Reinstall the app. If you haven’t deleted you user data in the first step, you shouldn’t need to renter it again once reinstalled. 5) Learny-learny.

MOM&2YR OLD APPROVED!!!. My daughter loves to learn and she loves how there is always different learning activities randomly. I’m happy to find something very simple to use as I am vision impaired and I require to use zoom to help her be able to use the app which that does get annoying if everything is all over the place and I need to read them but HOMER is so simple that I don’t need to have to read the activities. I recently downloaded this app earlier this morning and she was so obsessed with HOMER that she was learn for 2.5 hours willingly without getting bored of it.

Great Concept-Buggy App. The concept and material of this is great but the app is constantly buggy on iPad Air running IOS 14.7.1. Today I tried to launch the app into my daughters reading plan about 20 times, probably 15 of those times I got the ‘uh oh something went wrong’ pop up when hitting the play button. The other few times we did not get the pop up and proceeded to reading plan only to have the content fail to load. At 9.99 a month I will be cancelling very quickly if performance of this app does not improve. We tried restarting the iPad, cold starting the app, installing latest update of homer from App Store….all to no avail.

Charges accounts after cancellation. My daughter quickly lost interest in this program. We canceled our subscription and switched to ABC Mouse. This was in October. November I got charged again. Thinking I may have never submitted my cancellation I let it go and canceled again. Low and Behold December 10th another unexpected charge. When trying to get ahold of support for a refund I get told due to COVID it will take longer then usual (as expected) for someone to get in touch. I am still waiting.... I have proof of cancellation. I’m very upset that a company would continue to take money from people that clearly canceled their subscription and honestly our family does not have the extra $ to pay for something we are not using....

Unable to access App AND cancel membership. I paid for a month subscription ($60). When attempting to access the app, it was not loading. It would just have the progress circle spinning continuously. After attempting to login for a couple days, I decided to cancel the subscription. After logging into my account on their direct site, I navigated to my subscription to cancel..and lo and behold the site would error out with: “Application Error: Client Side Exception Has Occurred” Therefore, to prevent paying for this subscription without even using the app - I went to my credit card directly to cancel so that I do not receive a reoccurring charge…

Like it so far!. Usually it’s very hard to keep my son’s attention but he loves this app. He is non-verbal but he’s learning and you can really tell! I took away a star because I have an account and it was originally created on my phone, but when I opened it on my tablet, it didn’t take me to sign in, instead, it kept prompting me to subscribe again. There was no way to back out the screen and even closing the app did nothing to reset it. I’ve even tried uninstalling but it still brings me to the same page. I had to delete it and wait a few days before redownloading and it took me to the login homepage.

Ridiculous. I have a 10 year old as well as a 3 year old and a 5 month old. When Homer first came out, I sent over 100 dollars for my now 10 year old to use. Back then, you had to pay in app to unlock objects. There was no subscription. I guess now that has changed to where I cannot even access what I purchased back then. That is a lot of money down the drain and now I have to pay a subscription to have access that I, more than likely, already paid for. Furthermore, back then, it had a more engaging screen with a merry-go-round and other stuff. Now it has pretty much nothing. This is ridiculous! I wished I knew then what I know now... I would have never paid money for this app!

Seems good but doesnt work. I liked it at first. But second day in and it is downloading something everytime i open it. And clicking the pathway made it do more downloading. My daughter played for five minute and got to a spot on the pathway with three videos i think. She clicked to download them and then it shows loading and then nothing. Click again and shows loading then nothing. Closed app and tried again and now its stuck on whatever it thinks it needs to download again for pathway. Thankfulky we are on wifi right now but usually we are on hotspot data thats limited and this activity would not be ok. Besides the app is now useless. It looked great other than that and my daughter loved it until it stopped. Wont be renewing after 30 days.

A little bit amazing. The intent wasn’t ever to force my kid into learning, he just turned 3 and I don’t want to overwhelm him. That said, several weeks into playing Homer on a regular basis and he is sounding out words, recognizing which letters form together to spell names of the places we go and showing a genuine interest in learning to read and write. If this is the effect that a game can have on my kid then I am all for it! Only drawback I can foresee is running out of content. Quickly.

Bugs. It’s not a terrible app and way cheaper than it’s competitors. HOWEVER the app is very buggy. For instance it will say my son completed his tasks for the day but when he tries to open them they automatically close out before he has the chance to actually play them. He loves the app and is currently 3 doing the “preschool” tasks. I don’t see much improvement yet but we have only had the app for about a week. Hopefully HOMER sees this review and works on the issues within the app because after a quick google search I have seen that I’m not the only one having issues with the bugs.

Was great until it wasn’t. I really enjoyed using this app with my 5 year old who has had difficulty learning how to read. This made it fun for him and he really seemed to enjoy it. I’m bummed that we’ve only gotten through maybe 5 letters of the alphabet on the pathway and and it is stuck and we can’t go any further. I’ve tried signing out and back in, deleting and reloading with no luck. I’ve contacted customer service who asked me to try the same things I already tried, still no luck. Last I heard they are escalating the issue, which was 5 days ago now. Looks like I’ll be cancelling and looking for something else.

We love Homer. My kids love playing and I’m totally okay letting them have this screen time. The games change up so my kids don’t get bored. The program moves slowly enough for my preschooler and kindergartener to follow without getting frustrated but they progress fast enough I don’t feel like they are wasting time. So many reasons we have been loving Homer. My kindergartener is a little ahead of a lot of kids in her class so this is fun for us to let her spend time perfecting the things she knows and improving while still progressing.

Buggy app that freezes a lot and now won’t get past loading screen. We really like this app and have had it a couple months now but it’s had a ton of problems. Either freezing, refusing to load, or some features or sounds stop working during some games. But we’ve dealt with it and still liked the learning possibilities. However this morning no matter what I’ve clicked on for my daughter to do, it won’t get past the loading screen. Checked to see if there’s an update and saw it recently had already been updated. With how much this was, I demand the issue be fixed! Very upset and irritated. My guess is it now requires a newer version of iPad or they’ve done something that made it worse.

Account is not accessible!. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed! My children love this app and I paid for a one-year account. If I wasn’t having log-in issues I would have rated this as a 5, but I am now paying for something my children can’t use. My subscriptions show my account doesn’t expire until May 2021 however we are unable to sign in. When I click that I forgot my password it states that my email is not correct. When I tried to create a new account it said I already have an account. When I tried to email Homer using the contact us email provided on the website the email got kicked back stating that it was not a correct email address! Please help as I spent a lot of money on this app. Thank you!

Invest. My advice.. DO IT. My son is going to be 2 in a couple of months and this app has given us so much joy, comfort and knowledge. He has mastered toddler and enjoys being able to discover the next stages! This app hands down has allowed him the ability to state his ABC without memorizing, his numbers and his colors! Recently we have been learning emotions and the Gratitude song with the little boy and the dog is hands down his favorite. Thank you HOMER!

Non existent customer service. As much as I and my daughter love this app, it has really helped her in her reading journey but it has gotten so frustrating in the last one week to the point that she now dreads using the app because it crashes and keeps taking her back to the courses she has done. It hangs and won’t go on and there is nobody to talk to. I have sent emails 3 times with no response. I have reached out to them once on their Facebook and twice on Twitter still no response. I’m in my trial period and would have been super glad to continue but with such terrible customer service I think I will need to look elsewhere. Such a shame it didn’t work out fine

Wanted to love this app!!. We have been using this app for a few months. My son love it! Yet now that I have paid for 3 months the app is asking for more money and charged me again after already paying for the 3 month subscription. I have emailed so many times and while I hear your short staffed you would think you’d make sure things worked out buy you have not!! I got 1 email back and I did everything in the email and yet it’s still not working nor have I heard back from you all. If things change I my change my review and not ask for my money back. I have connected Apple and they said I can get a refund at anytime.

I am in love. This is by far the best child’s app that I have come across in the App Store. My son is two years old (he turned two April 14th) and he loves this app. He learned his colors within two weeks thanks to your application. He grabs his phone on his own and goes straight to this app without me having to force him to do so. I can’t take the phone away from either so that means y’all have exceeded your intended purpose. This app is Worth the money too. We both look forward to your new updates. I am a happy mama. Thankyou homer reading.

Stopped working back in April. When the software worked, I did like it. However, it stopped working (cannot access My Path) in April and after contacting the customer support multiple times (including sending a video of the problem), it is still not resolved. I tried reinstalling the app many times, tried iPhone, IPad, resetting both devices and still have the same problem. The support told me that they can reproduce the problem but unable to solve it. Anyway, I think this is not acceptable for an app that requires monthly subscription fee. I will give it one more week and if the issue is still not resolved, I will be removing the app.

We had nothing but problems with this app on my sons iPad. In the beginning it was great and my son loved it. This app would constantly need to be updated it would not work and when I contacted customer support all they would say was that I needed to reset my device. Why would I need to reset my device constantly in order for their app to work. I think they need some updates. Also when I signed up for a trial it automatically charged me the full price for the app and I did not give me a trial. It would also lose all of my sons saved progress and data and he would have to restart from the beginning. It was frustrating for a six-year-old because it wouldn't save his progress and that's ridiculous.

Not bad. My 2 year old is behind on his development and I am doing a “Preschool Prep” course with him this year. This app along with speech therapy helps him learn his basic shapes and colors as well as basic life words. He’s even learning his letters! My only concern now is that when he clicks on an activity, it won’t load. It has put his progress to a halt and now he’s losing interest. Our WiFi connection is running at high speeds, so we ruled that out. I hope it gets fixed to where he can play again in the next update.

Truly the Best. I don’t usually take time to leave reviews, but this app needs one! I am a Kindergarten teacher and a mother of a 3 year old. This is by far the best app around to help build early literacy skills. It has everything! Comprehension, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, phonics, sequencing, story telling, letter recognition, etc. Not only does it have everything, but it makes everything ENGAGING for children. This is my daughter’s favorite app. She does a little bit of her pathway every week, and she has learned so much in just the month that we have had it. As a teacher, my recommendation is to train your children to use the pathway and not just choose random videos on the app. Although those are good, too, the pathway is where the learning takes place. If there was a way to utilize this for all of my students within my classroom using a teacher account, I would love that!

Can’t get anything to download!. I’m so disappointed. We downloaded this app this morning. My 6 year old and 4 year old have been trying ALL DAY and cannot get a single thing to download. We have tried on multiple devices and every time we click on something, it shows “downloading.” We left it downloading and came back later only to have it appear to start all over downloading. I have been a paid member of ABC Mouse for 2 years now and was looking forward to something new. It really is a shame because the app looked great. But to have to sit and wait forever EVERY TIME and then for it not even to work is beyond frustrating. We will keep trying a little more, but if this doesn’t get fixed soon, we will be cancelling our free trial and deleting the app!

So many glitches. I wanted to love this app. Luckily i tried the limited trial version before putting in my credit card info for the 30 day version with recurring payments. There are so many glitches and it is only our 3rd time (2nd day) trying it out. First it forgot where he was along the pathway. Then he kept playing the same thing and would not go to new activity. I restarted the app and it finally remembered where he was on the pathway, but it will NOT let him do the next activity (it was light up and had a play symbol). It was glitching and you can’t press play. It was very frustrating for me as an adult, even more frustrating for a 4 year old. Totally not worth $8/month if it glitches like this. I wasn’t even sure i wanted to pay $8/month for an app in the first place.

Great for toddlers not 7-8 year olds. The learning path seemed way off, my son is 7 and behind in reading (mid 1st grade instead of 2nd grade level) wanted to find an app that would help interest him in reading but his learning path had him matching lowercase and uppercase letters he didn’t make it through the first game before he was telling me how boring it was and begging to do anything else... was really optimistic since it mentioned it was for children up to 8 years of age, but I just can’t see how it is unless the older kids are only meant to use the books and there are other apps at the same price point that offer many more books if that’s all he is utilizing.
