Easily the best metronome app. I don’t write many reviews, but this app deserves one. Honestly, the free version did everything that I needed. While I may never use any of the features that came with the paid version (set lists, custom sounds, and many other configuration settings), I thought the developer deserved getting paid for offering such an amazing app for free. No ads. Still very useful. I bet you feel the same way after using this!

The Best Metronome. One of the best metronomes I’ve used in a very long time. One thing I like about it is that you can change between notes and BOMs while all still being able to listen to it with your phone (or iPad) is off!

They all click…. All metronome apps click. This app, Tempo, has a few added features that help me with practice: You can display an indicator for each beat in a measure. E.g. for 4/4 time you see four dots that flash in sequence. The second is the ability to auto increment the bpm. For example increase by 2 bpm every 30 sec. It also has a feature to make presets that define a starting bps with an auto incrementor. Unfortunately there is no way to edit the preset. So if you gradually improve and want to change a preset from 100 bps to 110 bps for example, you can’t! You need to make a new preset. I hope this a bug or a bad UI that hides the ability to edit a preset, but in either case it mars a nice app.

Works for breathing too 😉. I may be a little out of line here by giving this a five star review, because I’m not using it for what it was designed for. I was looking for an app that could provide an audible “tick” every 10 seconds, when the app wasn’t the main app, when other apps were playing (e.g. music or podcasts), and whether or not the screen was turned on. You’d think that should be pretty straightforward, but after spending an entire morning downloading, installing, and then removing one horrible timer/hiit/cadence/metronome app after another, this is the only one I found that could do what I wanted. My only issue is that I would like to go lower than 10 bpm, and it doesn’t. But seriously, who needs that for a metronome, so I can’t complain. The free version works fine for my purposes, but I upgraded to the “pro“ just because good apps should be rewarded. (And if you ever decide to drop the BPM all the way down to 1 in a future version, I can’t imagine anyone complaining.)

Pro version worth every penny. The setlist feature is extremely helpful when working with multiple exercises.

Fix this glitch - CAN WE GET THIS FIXED. There’s this glitch in the app where when I’m trying to change tempos by holding down the arrow, instead of systematically cycling by 10s through the numbers, it just speeds ahead and flips through super quickly into oblivion. It makes the function useless since I have to tap the arrow bit by bit to get from for example 70bpm to 100bpm. 30 taps is ridiculous.

Very functional tool!!!. I’ve never used one, & now see the difference!!! Our group will start using it regularly at practice to build a natural timing routine!!! Thank you, great purchasing items that are practical!!👍🎶

Great app, no reply from support. Tried the free version - it does almost everything I needed it to do, so I paid to upgrade so I could string together a few different “songs” for daily practice. I had/have a very minor question for support and have tried to contact them repeatedly via their web form. No reply. Nada. Not even a boilerplate “we got your request but we’re busy and will get back to you when we can”. That’s disappointing. Otherwise, no complaints. It’s a great little app.

Purchased the full version but still a bit disappointed. One feature would be very helpful is to have a way to modify the accent on e, &, a. This would be ideal for practicing double stroke roll.

This is incredible!!. I’m literally in the midst of making Set lists that has 150 songs each here in Nashville at the moment with this app! The fact that you can have accents or not… Or eighth notes if you want or 16s or triplets… Built into each song is nothing short of amazing and quick! You can get around so fast if someone calls a song you can easily get to it and the tempo is ready to go! Also the fact that you can go to gig mode or Setlist mode or the practice mode… Depending on what you’re doing is amazing! (I’m literally in the midst of making a Set lists for the fifth time and I literally went out of doing it to come write this review)… This is a MUST BUY for drummers! Especially if you’re going to have a sub drummer for you (Or if you are the sub drummer) all you have to do is share the list to them in the same app and they’ve got all the Tempos ready to go… they don’t have to do all of that homework over again! This is brilliant is all I can say! This just put my Tama rhythm watch in the grave… RIP!! Freaking BRAVO!!i 10 STARS!!

A Drummers Metronome. Nicely done. Clear, clean interface. Useful intelligent features. I love that it goes up to 400 bpm as it gives me the choice to not have to play double time because the metronome can’t go fast enough. Thanks for your generosity in offering this for Free to all musicians.

First Rate Metronome!. Does everything I could possibly ask it to do. It’s logical and easy to use. Highly recommend it.

One-Time Purchase - 24+ Time signatures. A Metronome with Automatic tempo increase at adjustable intervals and then over 2 dozen time signatures once you fork over $3 for a SINGLE, yes SINGLE time! What they could do better is making the upgrade suggestion less intrusive and also note the benefits of upgrading; I was using the app for months without knowing that it was a one time purchase instead of a subscription, as well as not knowing that a purchase would unlock so many more Time sigs!

Awesome App!!. I’ve been using it with headphones because as a 7th grade trumpet player I get off tempo sometimes and it really makes my teachers mad! This app is so fun, the only thing that bothers me is the premium membership ad they always pop up but overall amazing

Best metronome/ set list app for live performances. I’ve been looking for an app that had a metronome for timing and allows me to create set lists for live performances. This app does it all. It also allows me to edit set lists (tempo/rename songs) and pick from a list of songs I’ve already setup. I use to use another app with similar features but it wouldn’t let me edit (tempos/rename songs) once it was created. You could only delete the songs and start over. Also, it didn’t have the option to add previously setup songs to a new set list like this app does. As a drummer in a ministry that’s not setup with a click track, this app helps me with starting tempos during our sets. Great purchase…

Great app… But not perfect. I absolutely rely on this app for my drum practice. I find the interface for playlists and saving a little bit confusing and don’t always know how to do what I’m trying to do. but the rest is quite intuitive and a bit improvement over what I used to use.

Works Great. Quick easy interface. Hasn’t ever let me down yet. And that’s saying something for a piece of software.

Fantastic!!!. I am about to do some recording with acoustic guitar and vocal… And the engineer said I really needed to rehearse with a metronome so we could properly do overdubs and add other tracks. I did some research and found this amazing thing. It is fantastic. The tap function lets me play my song exactly like I want… Then I tap in the beat and there I am, ready to pull the same tempo next time. BIG THANK YOU to the folks who produced this thing!

Needs a few accessibility changes. Tested with VoiceOver on the lite version and upgraded to paid. There are just a few features that aren't accessible like altering the volume in app and the mode switcher. Changing tempo is also a little awkward at the moment. Overall, it's a great app with everything I could ask for. I hope they choose to make this app fully accessible in the near future but in the meantime it is still more than usable. Update: There is a setting for modes and if you turn off all the modes except the one you want it will default to that mode.

Amazing!. I play the flute, and I am always having trouble keeping the tempo of the music, especially playing new music. But while using this app, I have no more problems. This app also is very easy to use and self explanatory from the beginning. It’s also free! I would definitely recommend this.

Tempo review. It’s exactly what I was expecting and it is easy to use and usually when I download an app it takes me awhile to figure out how it works but with this app it only took me a few minutes this is a very good app to use

It flips!. This is the first metronome app I found that flips to horizontal on the iPad Pro. All of my music apps operate in horizontal mode; now I have a metronome that does the same thing. Love that! The only downside on the free version, which is what I'm using, is the limited set of metronome sounds. There are only four of them, and I don't like any of them very well. However, there is one I can live with.

It’s great but.... Every time I open the app an update pops up and it is super annoying I wish it would ask that every other week not every day Otherwise I love this app The sound quality is good and I can easily count rhythms now!! Plus the tapping the beat you want it to be, that is a bonus! Love it!! (｡◕‿◕｡)

The best tempo app.. This is the best app and has been improving my piano skills. Without this app, I would never be able to catch up with the original speed. But I would like a speed faster than 800 please.

Great, but one thing.... Every now and then, I hear that the metronome skips a beat if it plays too long. Maybe I’m just hearing things, but I definitely heard it skip a beat very clearly. Other than that, it’s a great app!

Great app, works perfectly.. Downloaded for personal use when practicing, got tired of pulling up a met on Google. Works great and has decent volume, though if you’re on a drum set I’d recommend headphones.

Use it. It is made to be used, use it and your playing will improve. Easy to work with, good sounds to play with, decent selection of meters to work with. With my conga playing and most percussion I use the standard 4/4. However I play a lot of Middle Eastern percussion so the 6/8 and 9 are vital to staying on track. Recently started snare drumming, and being able to set number of measures for practice is awesome.

Messes w/my eyes.. I’m giving this 3 stars in the hope my purchase will be refunded or that this is operator error. I have seizures & need a needle type displayed vertically instead of horizontally. The way it is started to make my eye flash. I only had it on for maybe 5 seconds so I’m not really in a position to actually rate the app itself

Nice and simple, in a good way.. Tempo is my daily-player metronome for all my practicing and lesson-teaching needs. I can get a tempo going quickly without having to sort through menus. I especially like the ability to switch from a beep to more organic sounds for the beats. There are too many electronic beeps in my world as it is.

Just a few suggestions. Tempo is amazing. I use it every day, and it’s very easy to use. However, Tempo can be improved in my opinion. First of all, they should add more options to the control board and everything, even on the upgraded version. Also, they should’ve added more time signatures to the not upgraded section. Besides from that, Tempo is a really good app and deserves to be recognized from all the other metronome apps.

Worth every Penny. Great app, I’ve set setlist for practice exercises. Plus with the paid version you can customize your back ground so I have a little hunterxhunter vibe going.

Flexible and easy to use. I've used it for a couple years on both iPhone and iPad. It is stable and has an intuitive interface. Easy to program unusual meters, and easy to program set lists. Highly recommended!

Great for drummers! 🥁. To be able to set up practice lists for rudiment exercises is one of the best things for me. I have various playlists set up that will take me either through a variety of beats per minute or for a set time. I also use it as a click during rehearsals. I have tried many free and a few paid apps. Tempo is the only one left on my phone. 😎

Getting frustrated. I realize there is a paid upgrade available, but it’s really annoying that I cannot open the app without going through their ads for their own upgrade. I’m a pro musician so I use my metronome app frequently but there are several with the features I need and I’m approaching the frustration level where I may make a switch. If they were less aggressive about the upgrade, I would look into it on my own time and consider it, but when it greets me multiple times throughout my practice day and gets in the way of my work it comes off the wrong way.

App crashes. I have the paid version and I’ve created a playlist I want to share across IOS devices. Using the “forward” icon, the app completely crashes. This important function does not work, which means you have to manually redo all your work for iPad and iPhone.

What happened???. This was an excellent metronome app that was my go to until the accent options stopped working. I prefer the accent on the downbeat on beat 1. Now none of the options work. I even wasted 3 bucks on the paid version hoping that would remedy the problem…Please fix this!!!!!!

Greatest metronome app for practice. I’ve used it for a year and it allows me to start practice slow and correct and then gradually increase speed to play eventually at the correct bpm for the song.

Please add play/pause w headphones. I’ve been using the app for a month now. I picked it because of the integration with the Apple Watch and now I’m going to try the paid version mainly because of the playlist mode for I gig I have. Its quite reliable, but sometimes phone and watch don’t synchronize well. It would be an outstanding app if that sync was fixed; and also if you sync the headphone’s play and pause buttons! Playing the drums doesn’t give you much personal space to hang the cellphone and coming back to it every single time is very tiring. Those details are the reason the user decides to stick to apps at the end.

Everything you need, and for free!. Clean interface, beat subdivision, tap tempo, nice display options, doesn’t scavenge your personal info — easily deserves five stars! I recommend it to my students and bandmates all the time.

I’ve been using this for years.. I’ve been using this for 5+ years and it works great. Lots of amazing features and super user-friendly. A note for developers: The compound time signatures could use some work. I tend to use different accents for meters such as 12/8 or 9/8 and I wish it would let us use any type of grouping that we want. I also think there should be an option for x/16 time signatures such as 9/16, 13/16, etc.

Made me purchase full version. The app is fine. But when I went to press my home button to exit out of the app, a “insert fingerprint to purchase full version” popped up as soon as I pressed the home button. Now i have to go through the refund process because the app made me buy the version just by pressing my home button. This is not the first time this has happened so I will be uninstalling the app completely now.

Beware Background Battery Beast. Good app, but couldn’t figure out why my battery was suddenly draining. I looked is settings and found this app had been running in the background for over 20 hours, and used 28% of my battery.

Mostly good.... I like the sounds and the ability to change the subdivisions. I don’t like that you can’t rename a song in your set list... OR if you can... it’s not intuitive. I also think it’s confusing if you want to edit a song. It would be easier if they would just give you an “edit” button and a “save” button or option.

Great for morning exercises. I’m not a musician. I use Tempo to time my stretches in my morning workout. When I hit 60 morning exercise became essential. This app helped save my mobility.

Big fix needed. Middle school band teacher - I love this app and use it every day with my students. My greatest frustration is when you hold the “+” or “-“ to advance the tempo by 10’s, it rapidly goes through all of the tempos either up to 400 or down to 10, only stopping if you hit the button again. This makes it tough to get to your desired tempo quickly. I’m hesitant to pay for the full version for fear that it will have this same bug.

Comprehensive and sleek. Best metronome I have used over the years. I was more than happy to upgrade for more features. I only wished that the vibrate function would also work on the Apple Watch. This haptic feedback would really support my Pranayama exercise!

Best Metronome App. This is the best metronome app I have ever used. After constant issues with Soundbrenner Metronome, I tried this one and have never looked back. Better features and stability. It remembers your last settings and the timer function allows you to pause and continue playing. All the features you need and no gimmicky Soundbrenner add ons that focus more on feature count, and not stability. Great app!

Tap tempo on Apple Watch needed. Close to a perfect app… I would buy the full version if you could do tap tempo on Apple Watch… as a dj/performer/punter I am always quickly checking track tempos but would love to do this without getting my phone out of my pocket.

The good qualities of Tempo. Tempo is vey useful! I always get frustrated when practising my piano but Tempo has proved to help me. It is a little complicated and I never seem to get the right pace, 😋 but you get it in the end. I hope you download this app so Tempo can help you with you music as well.

iOS Siri + Multitasking integration. This app is great for both iPhone and iPad! What would make it 5 stars (and really set it apart from other metronome apps) is if it had deeper Siri integration, even if it’s with Siri Shortcuts - me: Hey Siri, open the metronome Siri: what tempo me: 110bpm Also if the iPad app supported slide over or split view multitasking, that would be great! Would pay even double or more to access features like these!!

Watch version does not work. I downloaded this for the watch version, but it doesn’t seem to actually work. I really just want to check tempos of songs. The set list idea would also be useful at gigs if it worked.

Widget. It would be great if this app included a widget so I didn't have to unlock my phone every time I wanted to use it.

Great but Problem!. The app itself is awesome. But on my iPad I have screen time and when I go to put in the screen time password, the app kicks me out for some reason. Other than that, it’s great and amazing!

Set list feature is great. Love the set list feature. Can be used to count songs in as you go through your set and can be set to stop automatically after a few bars.

Best metronome/timing app I've used. This is by far the best timing/metronome app I've used, so much so that the paid version was worth the few dollars. The clicking is great with the visual prompt and being able to save the song bmp into the app library is great for me when live performing.

Sounds. The sounds in the paid version are great. Is there a way to designate a particular sound to a song put into the set list? I’ve been able to have songs with the exact number of bars I want but always end up with the same sound so have to change manually.

Top-Notch, Totally Pro Strobe Click!. I'm really blown away by this app. As a working drummer, this replaces a clunky old strobe easily. The setlist feature is amazing—I could edit on my phone and send to my ipad. AMAZING. Great work, guys!

Not worth “free”. For something basic, the free google metronome online does a better job. Audio is out of sync with the visuals, and even clicks at a different tempo.

Stop asking me to upgrade. It's functional and looks better than most metronome apps. However, being asked to upgrade to the full version every time I reopen the app is very annoying. At least allow opting out of that particular notification.

Perfect!. We use this app at our church. The set list feature makes it so easy to quickly switch between songs in a set. There are also so many options, including which beats to highlight, whether to have a vocal count in, etc. It's perfect.

Great, but needs to go to 1.. This is by far the best metronome app out there. I have no complaints except for one. Please make it go to 1, and perhaps even 1/10ths of a beat from 1-10. As a music teacher and musician I often need to lower it beyond 10 to demonstrate or practice exercises that develop internal time. Using an extremely slow metronome is the best way to do so. I would pay for this feature. Other than this, best app out there.

Tempo rocks. As a pro drummer I rely on this app for all my gigs. Great set list arrangement and plenty of options. Keeps consistent time.

Upgrades not transferable. There was a promo for an upgrade, so I did it with my iPad. But after upgrading, my iPhone app was still on the basic version. And the pro version is still available for purchase on the App Store...but I have already paid for the upgrade...

Split Screen. This would be a 5/5 if it had split screen functionality. Trying to integrate this with other annotation apps can be a pain because the start /stop or next song functions are underneath the other apps split screen functionality making this very difficult to navigate.

Works nicely. Simple and easily useable layout. Best thing about app is the fact it can continue the beat even while the screen is off

Where is my full version?. I bought the full version of the app long time ago and after some update few months ago I can use only light version and cannot restore my purchase. I contacted you through the support form but no one answered. This is the best metronome I have ever used and I would like to use version I payed for.

A well designed metronome app. After trying a couple of different free metronome apps, I can confidently say that this is the best one I have tried so far. For a free app with a paid version, the functionality is quite good. Plus, there are no ads whatsoever. There could be more time signature options, but that is an upgrade, and as a high school musician, I can get by with the options provided. I have no other complaints. This is a really solid app.

Great for guitar too!. So if you play guitar, you know that training with a metronome is something you’ll do in guitar lessons. This app is recommended. ❤️ practice at least 1 minute a day with a metronome

Love it!. I’m Studio musician and use this app all the time. Does exactly what I need in the studio: it is precise, fast and easy to use. I utilize it when composing and recording. Love it!

Charged twice. I purchased the upgrade through the Lite version, and it’s not showing the upgrade so I downloaded the premium version thinking it would just ‘upgrade’ the app.. No it charged me twice, poor platform.

It goood but..... It's a wonderful app! I use it for band all the time but I wish there wasn't a full version. Other then that it works wonderfully

Good with some bugs. Great metronome with subdivisions and great features even on the free mode, but there's this one bug that I hate and it's when you hold down the plus or minus, the tempo will start rising rapidly without you even touching it and it won't stop until you hit plus or minus.

Low volume on iphone x. Made all the settings and levels same on both phones. This app runs much louder and crisp on iphone 6 than on iphone X. İphone X is louder and clearer on every other app and system sounds. Please fix this. My favorite metronome app still.

Fine, but.... Purchased upgrade, and it crashes everytime I try to apply wallpaper to themes in iPad AND iPad Pro. Please investigate.

Tempo is hard. This is a simple, easy to use, no nonsense metronome with all of the features most musicians need.

No customer service. They will gladly take your money but never respond to any emails. Been trying to get a response from these people for over a year now.

Could use a tuner. I think that the metronome is good but it should have a tuner. The settings are very confusing

The Best Metronome App Ever!!!. I am an advanced pianist. One day I was looking for a good metronome app and I found this one. I downloaded because it looked really comfortable and cool and I found out that I was right.

Needs Work to be a true Pro metronome. I have issues where my accent choice and subdivisions will not save per song in a set list so I have to manually do this during a set which is NOT convenient or good practice in a band. Please get this bug fixed and it would be 4-5 stars.

Love it!. I use it to set my running pace. Works great and tempo is easily and quickly changeable.

Not intuitive. Can’t figure out how to add additional set lists or change order of existing set list. No instructions on how to do basic things. No way I can see to contact support. Way disappointed!

iOS 17 broke it. Since iOS 17 I’m unable to add songs from previous set lists. This is a key feature for me, please repair the app. I know it’s apples fault but they absolve themselves of any responsibility. Thank you for the otherwise awesome app!

Like this app but 24% battery Usage?. Great app, been using it for over a year now but on my 13 pro with iOS 15.6 it’s burning 24% of my battery usage. Says “background” but the app isn’t even running in background. What is it doing?

Great app. Great metronome. Clean simple to use and has all the basic functions for free. Really cool stuff if you buy the advance version. And I recommend it to every new drum student that comes to me

Review. When you go to change the temp, and you want to go by ten so you hold the button down, it goes super fast and you can’t stop where you want it to be.

Possibly the best Metronome app out there.... I’ve probably tried at least ten other freebie metronome apps and this is still the best one for me. Simple, uncluttered interface, pleasant tick sound. I can’t stand the green though; bring back the red, or make it an option! Yeah, it asks to upgrade each time (the prompt is easily dismissed) and that’s the price for a free app. Thanks for making this! February 26, 2019

My Review. At first I hated it, but then I Realized it wouldn’t turn dark or black and then fell in love with it.

Okay. The metronome is fine but it doesn’t have a voice so I can not use it. I like speak beat a lot better

Must Have App. Every musician has or will have this app. It does was it is supposed to and does it perfectly. No excuses. Just the right dependable tool.

Tempo app no longer able to add songs. I can no longer add songs from previous setlists. The “add” button is hidden or not accessible since iOS17 software install. Please fix

It's very nice but.... It advertises itself way too much, every time I open it, it keeps asking for me to buy the full version. Others than that it already has most of what you need even subdivisions

Keep the Cool Beat with TEMPO. I love it! It is wonderful and so easy to travel with and use anywhere!!!
