Used to be fun but now it’s a mess. I used to enjoy this game but now when I try to play, it’s a confusing maze of in app purchases, “rewards” and “upgrades”. None of which are explained or organized in an intuitive or even intelligible way. Seriously, I can’t even navigate through all of the menus and hoops to actually get to the part where you get to play the game! Believe it or not devs, playing the game is what most of your users want to do! Instead of gameplay, you are prompted to go to the almanac and to plant seeds, etc. before you can do something else, none of which is spelled out clearly. There are a half dozen vague menu buttons that lead you to confusing sub menus. Several different coins/gems/etc to collect, redeem, blah blah blah. Really guys, how about just a game that you can open and enjoy playing? So frustrating and annoying. I’m just going to delete the PvZ games and find something that is fun and doesn’t feel like filling out paperwork at a job for 10 minutes before you are allowed to enjoy the game. The actual game play is fun and creatively designed. But it’s gotten so difficult to access that part of the app, that it’s not worth the brain eating stress and frustration.

Soooo… something happened. I don’t know if it is my phone but ever since yesterday, I haven’t been hearing any music. Did my music crash? Is it permanent? What happened to my music? All I did was put my phone on the charger and it just muted. Is something wrong with my phone or the game because it can’t be something else, right? It doesn’t “sound” like a big deal (no pun intended) but I really enjoy the music in this game and I don’t think I like it without background music. The music is joyful and I don’t feel right without it. I’m trying to get used to having no sound in the background until it comes back, if it comes back. This isn’t really a review and more of a request but I just really want that music back again. Plus, the sound effects are working fine so why is it just the music that.. crashed? What even happened? All I did was charge my phone, like a normal person. Anyways, I would really like to hear some music again so it would be nice if you lovely folks and PopCap could help me out with that. Thanks! 😊

Crashes, micro transactions and greed.. I decided to write a review after sending in a bug report because the arena matches have been crashing and closing the app just seconds before the clock runs out multiple times for the past few days. After the 5th time today I decided that I’ve had enough. The matches cost gauntlets to play and you receive no points if it crashes, which is frustrating. So you have to use gems to buy more gauntlets. If you don’t have enough gems you can buy some with real money or watch multiple ads for 3 gems a piece…. Someone has already alluded to the fact that it’s highly suspicious and nearly impossible to reach the full reward for a win streak also. But you can spend more gems to keep the streak alive even tho you lost…. Tell me the game isn’t rigged without telling me the game is rigged. The amount of micro transactions in this game is disgusting. Half the plants cost $5 EACH. The constant ads are annoying. What happened to paying to not see ads any more? That I would gladly do. But it’s all about the money so sit there and suffer through 30 seconds of “gameplay” in ads that look nothing like the real games. The first PvZ game was fun for my daughter and I to play on the kiosk at Olive Garden one day waiting for our food. This game is one big money grab and I’ve had enough of it.

PvZ 2 Review. PvZ 2 started out as a good game. Every area had challenges specific to that zone, and the levels were not too tedious. That is, at least, at the start of the game. PvZ was also a pretty good one. It had no ads or freemium plants. It had fun mini games and plenty of levels. However, in a few updates PvZ 2 has gone downhill. They made it so past level eight of ancient Egypt, you automatically unlock all the other worlds. Where is the challenge in that? There are also lots of ads; I mean, like ads after every level before you get to the next level. Now above all this, what ticks me the most is the fact that you need to pay to unlock half the plants. The price for that is $4.99 PER PLANT. That is over 50 bucks for most of the premium plants. PvZ used to be good, but now as you can see the developers have gotten money hungry. I can tell other people have noticed this as I have read about 50 other reviews. I am pretty sure popcap will not be reading this as they don’t like bad reviews. If you are reading this, I recommend that you find an alternative to this. It has really gone downhill in the past years. I have been playing PvZ games for almost 11 years and will be stopping playing them now.

Amazing game, but... I love this game. It is super entertaining and I’m kind of addicted. But.. there has been a little bit of problems. 1. Whenever you update the game and add a plant, there is a load data part that takes 10 minutes, which can result in devices overheating and losing battery. 2nd. The game has too much adds, can you make it every 5 levels you get one add? And lastly, the game doesn’t get any new maps added in it. This is making me sad because I wanted plants like scarcely shroom and umbrella leaf to return. But alas, the game is very fun. Also, why is Chomper a premium plant that costs money, but torch wood and hot date are not? That’s kind of weird. Also, can you make snow pea a non- premium? I would say you could put it in the castle map. Also, Star fruit should cost gems, and squash should be buffed. Also, why is laser beam doing more damage than bloomerang when 1. Laser beam can hit every zombie in the game, but bloomerang cant hit the jester or shovel zombie. 2. Laser beam can hit every zombie in one lane, and bloomerang can’t. 3. Laser beam shoots faster than bloomerang. And 4. Laser beam only costs 200 sun for what it does? Why doesn’t bloomerand cost 150, and why doesn’t lazar beam cost 250? Also, Why does tile turnip go all the way up to 10K when I don’t even have it up to one lane yet? And a suggestion: can you make Twin sunflower 100 sun?

Would love to give a good review but…. The game constantly crashes. If you’re lucky. Most of the time it will just freeze for over 30 seconds, not even freeze the game freeze your whole device. It never stops freezing, but it takes 30 seconds for pressing home button to register. After your laggy inputs are finally recognized you can leave the app. You won’t be able to open any apps not even this one though, and after a few seconds it will freeze on the home or lock screen. This usually happens during the first flower loading screen and after a level. This happens in arena too, where i lost a win twice because the gam couldn’t handle the cutscene, and it just ate my gauntlets so i lost them and my win streak. It didn’t give me any crowns for the win either. Sometimes this even happens during a level when a few things have to be handled, like using a banana launcher or placing a mint with a lot of zombies and/or plants on the field. I know this isn’t an issue with my wifi because playing any other game or doing things that require wifi is normal. Please keep this in mind when playing that this will happen frequently, and that rewards often don’t save.

My progress got deleted (it’s not your fault). I was playing pirate seas and finally beat the boss battle, but the game crashed and my progress was ALL GONE. It’s not your fault though popcap, my ipad crashes all the time. I’m really angry that my progress is gone though. Also, I’d really like a new Cold War themed world. Basically, it’s a lot like the fog levels from pvz 1, having toxic gases on 1 half of the screen. The gases can’t be planted on, but there could be some sort of plant that gets rid of it (blover also only gets rid of 1 row of gas) there could also be some mutant plants (like the primal plants from Jurassic marsh) there could also be a gas mask zombie, who can’t be damaged unless eating a plant. Also I’d like you to bring back doom shroom (in the new world or as an arena plant)or a gas shroom, which makes one tile of insta-killing gas for a few seconds. Also I’m still salty about my progress so I’m giving you 3 stars. Edit:I found out that since Id unlocked all the worlds already, the new update made my progress get deleted, since now to unlock a world, I need to beat the previous world. Also I gave you back 1 star :) +cool plant idea: weeping willow, makes one water tile where it’s planted and slaughter lily, who can eat 3 zombies before chewing, must be planted on water too. could maybe come in an Ancient Rome world

Great game, however…. Redownloaded because it gave me nostalgia of being a little kid and playing this on the ipad, but it isn’t the same anymore. I really feel like the gameplay is very engaging, but i’ve noticed many things slowly sneaking into the game that make me unhappy. Some of these include things like the excess ads. You’d think in a game where microtransactions lie around every corner that there’d be less ads, but that is not the case with this game. Merely completing a level provides you with an ad, as well as exiting out of menus and other in-game functions. The blatant cry for money from EA is laughable. I’ve also began to notice a slow decrease in the rewards granted in arena streaks. They used to grant things that were usable, but the amount of currency and piñatas that are granted nowadays are insufficient to support a daily player’s grind in Penny’s Pursuit, Arena, and other limited events. This is why I am always saddened to see these small game producers that make a massively popular game and are quickly purchased by these huge brands who swim in money. This game can be improved greatly by just cutting down on the ads and increasing granted rewards, though I doubt that will happen. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading!

Good but rigged. So I have been playing for a while, and made a few plants purchases since I love to collect them for my son. The reward system is good, despite the fact that it is obviously rigged. I.e. the pinata will always give 1000 coins on first try every 3rd pop and 1500 on 2nd try. Arena also rigged. You can win fairly easy the first few rounds, but at 6 or 7 you will most likely lose, and it can’t be more obvious than losing to “someone” with level 1 plants that didn’t even do much damage! Once you lose, the system reset and everything is easy again. Heck several times I beat “players” with all mastery plants! Perhaps it was intentionally designed such way and I can overlook that, but when I spent the last few fights to gain ranks and someome mysteriously keeps ahead of me by several points? The biggest problem right now is at 7th victory, you only get half of the reward! It clearly shows 10x pinatas, yet you get only 5x! Contacted EA and all I got were emails that asking for my account info and details on the rewards! So far I got at least 4 people replied, and none of them resolved it! They just closed the email or let someone else replied with the same statement! Sad because I would spend a few more bucks to get more plants... but it seems the end is near.

SOOOO GOOD. But might need a few improvements to make it funnier. Well, I love the game! It’s so addicting I’ve been playing it for like five days straight. But once you have beat ancient Egypt it gets kind of boring and is not as addicting. My First suggestion is that there needs to more levels for ancient Egypt or a like a prestige or something so that you can go through ancient Egypt again but instead of new plants there are level up points for each plant that was in there before and you got double the rewards but it was double the difficulty. Second more plants like maybe a triple peashooter that shoots like the fire peashooter or a triple sunflower or something like that. That would be great. And you could put those plants instead of level up points in like my last suggestion. My third suggestion is that can you make the areas longer like for instance ancient Egypt, instead of 25 levels there could be 50 levels and like after you beat the first 25 levels it would get twice as hard. Please if you can, add these in because the game has became boring.

Great game, but.... I’ve been playing this game for about 2 years now, and I loved it the entire time. I’ve deleted it several times, but now that I got it back I love it even more. I am writing this review not to only tell you that the game is good, but there are also some issues. There is one bug that makes it so that Crazy Dave and Penny will talk about the travel log every time I go into a world. It’s been happening since ancient Egypt, and now I’m in dark ages. It still doesn’t affect my gameplay though, it is just slightly annoying and I gets in my way. Now the micro-transactions. I find these in many mobile games, and that does include this one. I would usually ignore it and just play the game without it. It’s not really a problem to me, but I see that it is a problem to some other people writing reviews. So I would at least want you to make some features more accessible, or maybe you could pay gems or coins to rent one of those plants to play with in an actual level, just like you can with the extra seed slots. Now for the good things about this game. I could mention so many, but here are a few: It is fun, it is funny, it’s easy to get, it has many different things to do, it give new plants so you never get bored with old ones, and so much more. There are some problems with this game that I would want fixed, but it’s just to good of a game to give any less than 5 stars.

Made it harder.. I really enjoy this game. The colors, the game play and new plants and zombies. I like the traveling to different times. I like that you get to level up your plants. I like the battlez. I don’t like when you get to a certain point in the game it starts becoming impossible to past levels. Every world in this game has a level that is unbeatable. you don’t get sun quick enough and there’s too many zombies that you have to kill. It’s almost like they slow the plants down but spend the zombies up. leveling up your plants is really hard you only get a certain amount and it’s not each level you beat it’s like every 4 levels you beat you get packets. I mean I understand that they made a little more challenging than the first one, I think they made it way too challenging. you have to spend money if you wanna continue playing the game. You have to purchase with actual money some of the plants that you are used to in the first one. Not everyone can do that. I feel like they geared this game towards people who could pay and will pay. I’m deleting game sadly. I’m tired of not being able to getting any farther in the game.

So Fun!. I saw complaints about this game being hard to beat, but I disagree. This game is so fun and way better than the first one. I loved the first one, but I have to admit this one is so much better. They give you plenty of opportunity to get the good stuff to beat the levels and win plants. They let you win plenty of gems, coins, gauntlets, and mints so you can purchase the necessary items or win in the Arena. If you’re not willing to spend extra money then you can watch videos to earn the extra stuff. I’ve been able to beat almost every level without having to spend extra money and I’ve had so much fun. I watch the videos and earn enough to make it through the game. Even without the videos I would make it through. They give you that much help. This game is worth downloading. Don’t listen to the people talking bad about it because I’ve yet to find a problem with it and I’ve played it nonstop since I downloaded it. I’m already to the second to last level and I still enjoy it. The Arena, Penny’s Pursuit, and all the extra little levels thrown in daily keep you occupied when you’re not playing the Adventure mode. The point is, this is a great game. Download it!

(This Revivew is for PvZ 3 and about this game.). PvZ 2 Part: This game is good but, I agree with the people when EA came in, they added EVERYTHING to ruin the game. Now they did add some good things, like more worlds and battlez, battlez is fun. But until they added plants to premium, the game got.. out of hand and not fun.. people who got these plants lost them. EA made The game lose its follower’s and fans.. I hope in PvZ 3, They Remove and rather fix the way premium plants. Like you have to buy with diamonds (like some in PvZ 2) and coins. PvZ 3 Part: It look’s fun, it looks like it’s a remake of the first game, but please add extra worlds, like a graveyard level, that could be for only the good player’s. Because of this graveyard themed world, near IO zombie’s would shuffle faster to the plants. And, change the art style to how it is in this game, I think it would work well, but, I’m gone with the current art style I just don’t like the color’s, just fix the color’s to how they where in this game. Pea shooter in a olive green color doesn’t sit well, I want the pea shooter color from this game. And that’s all, I’m sorry this review is wrong. Anyways, thanks for reading!

Something is terribly WRONG. A few months ago I contacted their “help” center about the game crashing constantly in the Arena. (Both mine and my husbands) Help offered me a lot of coin and gems. I said no thank you just please fix the problem. What would you think if right after contacting them; on the daily calendar, EA says you got so many gems and coins but you DO NOT get them. What gives? EA Who is getting them? Strange the piñata’s don’t go missing only the gems and coin?Every day they go …missing… on my game but not my husbands. (He never contacted their “help”) Contacted them again. Lots of words but no help? Weird. My husband and I have both played this game for years; in our 70’s and retired loved it… after contacting them this time I now get commercials between the first 2 Arena games that slow me down. My husband does not…Not fair play EA. Handicapping my play. That is Not fair play at all EA ! Tonight we decided to play Ice Bound Battleground…I now get a commercial after every game. My husband who did not ever contact “Help” did not get one commercial.. not Fair play at all EA ! I used to pay the $20. A plant… and I get Handicapped, lied to, and what would you call gems and coin going missing……. Why? It is a …g a m e…. It feels vindictive to me??? Something has gone terribly wrong. SAD we used to play hours a day…… can not see why they are doing this? Lesson …not a good idea to contact “HELP?” Bad business.

Amazing but Vases. This is an amazing game. The graphics are pleasing, the zombies are repeated with different out fits but the outfits look funny and or amazing. Each world has a few twist, like the dark ages where your sun plants won’t work so you have to use the sun shroom and other very unique plants. The outfits for the plants is hilarious and cute. The only complaint is the vase smashing game, it is an alternative to doing arena and normal levels, but the thing is that the vase is completely turned against your favor and you are completely outnumber when they give you the worst plants, you can’t even defend your lane when you run out of plants and lose, and if you upgrade it helps, but the upgrades don’t do much all it does is make it stronger, after 5 or 6 levels you get a 25 sun reduction and very little damage upgrade. What good is the sun reduction in a vase game? Never mind the fact that the upgrades cost INSANELY large amounts of coins, where if you don’t buy the coins and you grind, it would take over 300 levels to get to at least level 6! Maybe reduce the coin amount and make it where you have a slight advantage over a zombie horde behind a vase where you don’t know if it’s deadly or not, it probably is.

Returned expecting nostalgia, actually got a lot of disappointment.. I picked this game when it first appeared and came out on the App Store and I loved it. The idea of it, the themes, the tone, and the general atmosphere was done fantastic and honestly impressive. As they added worlds it got bigger and even better. But.. as I returned, doing something as small as taking out the ultimate battle music along with the endless and demonstration music themes really took away from the whole tone and atmosphere you developers obviously slaved over when the game first came out :( I know I’m not the only one that wants this music back into the game. And the level system with the plants is conflicting and takes away from the original game. I’ve only leveled up my pea-shooter because the game made me in the tutorial. I refuse to level my plants and in my opinion ruin this free to play game that actually had a nice challenge at times. But the game is still fun, but after having all the good times with the original, I’m left confused and disappointed. If you bring the music back as maybe an optional download? Or put an extra’s download in the menu. This could be an easy fix but firing coconut cannons at sea gulls while the regular theme plays makes me incredibly sad.

Why did it get worse?. It’s good but there’s obviously a few problems with it. For starters why is there so many ads after every single level? I get it, it had to make money but it already does with how many people buy the premium plants and other things in the game. Also if you need ads make it once every 5 or 6 levels not after every single one it’s annoying and it’s what’s stopping me from buying or playing. If there was a remove ads payment I would buy it but there currently is none. Secondly when the ads play, the game gets confused and play a soundtrack on top of the already playing one making it sound very terrible. Thirdly i don’t know how this even managed to happen or if it’s on purpose but when I play my music and play the game at the same time, my music gets turned down and almost unlistenable while the games soundtrack and sounds are on full blast. Other than that the game is just the same but ofcourse EA just decided to make it terrible and plaster ads everywhere and not to mention how it’s stupid that you have to buy plants and not earn them through play through.

Love it but too much money. Sad really.. Everything. Is. Overpriced. It is $5.00 for 1 plant, first of all there should really be no money involved, but now that there is that is TOO MUCH! This app is catered to kids, as it should be and how is that fair for literally 20 plants to be paid with money. It’s hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get most upgrades / plants that is impossible to afford. I don’t understand why! It is just greed. The only price I would pay is 0.99 per plant, which still totals to A LOT of money if you buy all of them anyways. That is insane. On the other hand, the game is amazing. The different worlds are beautiful, the zombies are amazingly designed, and the levels are cool. It is an enticing experience, and is definitely worth playing. There is loads and loads of different things to do, levels to play, seed packets to win. It is awesome. However, I can’t afford a single new plant because they are all either 5 dollars of 100 gems, and really the only way to get gems is with actual money so....you decide. But I’m sad for the game : (

Plants Versus Zombies 2. This game is the best game I’ve had as a kid, about 4 years ago, and still have! I had Plants Versus Zombies 1 and it was great. I beat it twice! I was so excited to hear they were making a second one, and heroes, unless that is fan made. All the worlds, special events, and upgradable plants. I don’t remember is that was in the first, but if it was, I forgot. I can’t believe such a game would grab my attention like this for years! I think of it as a strategy game, and I have many games like this one with decks kinda like yu gi oh. I have certain “decks” for this game, too. My sisters and I play this game, and PvZ heroes as well on trips in the car because it’s possible offline, which is my favorite part. A fun, strategic game, with a long campaign and new unlocks of plants every week or day! And it’s offline! All my other games are mostly online, as in require network or WiFi, which I probably should have said that that’s what I meant earlier. Well, it’s a great and fun game, competitive, strategic, and some could say educational. I love it, thanks for making a second! Seth Shoemake

Make new worlds. I have played Plants vs. Zombies for over a decade. I started playing the first version long before there the app version existed, and then excitedly played PvZ2 when it came out in the App Store years ago. It is hands down my favorite game. I finished all the worlds and held on to hope that one day new worlds would come out. I finished this game probably 8+ years ago. I play piñata party daily and the side missions, etc. The arena is not entertaining as there is no real progression or reaching any big goals. Plus I like solo play, not against others. But I am left wondering why in the heck new worlds are not being developed. There have been hoards of new plants, most of which are available only by monetary purchase, but not new worlds. It makes no sense, for what purpose are you creating new plants? Only for brand new players who have never played this game and are just hearing about it now? EA has made absolutely no effort in developing new, real content for the long term player and it is beyond frustrating. This game is an asset and they are wasting its potential. I read that the international version gets worlds to this day, but not the US version. Why???!! EA come on, do this game justice and start developing more solid content. Not every game you put out there has to revolve around shooting and sports.

It was good until.... I really like the game when you were still doing updating it. I started when lost city part 2 came out and it was good. New plants, old plants and new worlds made things interesting. I even like how each world had a certain gimmick that makes it harder like the cold wind in frostbite caves. It gave more challenge during the story more than the first one. However, now half of the plants are premium and you have to buy them with real money. Plus after level 8 in ancient Egypt you get all the world keys. What happened to the extra hard challenge level that rewarded you with a key. And what happen to the music that made that level fun. All the worlds have now only 2 themes. The normal theme and the end of the world boss theme. I really like hearing the remixes of the mini game theme in each world. (like the matching camel tiles in ancient Egypt or the coconut canons and the buccaneer pirates in pirate seas) Other than that, the game is a good challenge and gives you some good plants. Oh and what’s up with the piñatas in the world map. If you played the game before the update that introduced them, all of the piñatas would be used and you would get nothing out of them. If you just fix the premium plants, piñatas, and somehow get the music back for the mini games and challenge levels (like the levels were you used to get a world key when you had to fight a bunch of Gargantuan zombies halfway through the world) the game will be great. Until then the game is ok.

Sell Turkey-pult!. Devs: PLEASE sell Turkey-pult. I'm so tired of anyone with Turkey-pult having an advantage and being unable to obtain one myself. Nerfing it isn't the right option, make it be purchasable once or twice so everyone can enjoy it. I have checked every single day for months and months to try to catch it when it's sold, yet the same plants are constantly on sale and most of the time it's one that doesn't need to be on sale (looking at you Grapeshot). Sell more than one plant each day, let people fill their collections, slowly, but surely instead of locking us out of half the game. It's preposterous that if I miss a little bit of time playing out of the years I have played, I miss a plant and have no idea if or when I'll ever be able to obtain it. And this isn't the only plant this happens with. A year later and I still have no idea if or when I can get a Turkey-pult of my own. Don't get me wrong: I love this game and will continue to play it. But locking half of your game away and leaving no reliable choice to fill your collection is just not a good look. You guys defined a genre. We know you can do better.

This game is awesome… with a tiny couple of bugs. Warning: Mild Spoilers Now, don’t get me wrong. I love Plants Vs. Zombies. Both the games; the original I’ve beat eight times. I got into this one and thought, this one is going to be great! And it was. All the special little touches from the silly descriptions of the plants to the wacky zombies to the hilarious story of trying to find a taco. This game is a bit bonkers with the in app purchases (five dollars for one plant!? REALLY?!?) but I really don’t mind too much. I don’t really write reviews except for the games I truly love. iPhone has a problem, however, and it was weird at first but now it’s a big concern of mine. The music is off. But only for the home section of PvZ. The music in-world is fine but the home music and victory tune are all off. This started when I got to the world ‘Dark Ages’ and the music won’t come back on. I’ve checked if my phone was on silent mode. Nothing. I’ve checked if it was because the settings had music at minimum volume. It was turned all the way up. I’ve seen that others have been complaining too on the help section and I need a fix. All the music and new victory tunes as I traverse worlds is gone. Please help!

Fun game But THE ADS. This is a classic game that I’ve played since it first launched. Since then, with its garnered popularity, it’s become a much better game with improved gameplay, better artwork, and new challenges. HOWEVER, this free-to-play feature comes with heavy drawbacks through the ads. I understand ads are necessary for the game creators’ revenue, but the amount that it shows is excessive and moreover, their design is frustrating. Most, if not all ads, have trick close buttons which will force you to the App Store. This isn’t the worst part though - the constant ads and forced app switching ends up glitching the game and requires you to restart the game. In other words, when you return to the game after being forced to the App Store, you’ll see the green screen, the daisy loading animation, and then a blank green screen for minutes until you realize it will never load. Why play the game if half the time I’m being switched to the App Store? This ad-loving campaign leaks into the game design as well. The start screen has so many pop ups for different plants and coins, it’s like you’re watching an advertisement for the game you’re about to play. It’s gaudy and significantly lowers the gameplay. It makes me wonder how long PvZ will be playable.

New animal based plants. You know, I’ve been thinking about having more animal plants, say like kiwi beast or toadstool, but I think for the spring event, you should add a dynamic Dino, Bananasaurus Rex! Not only would this make more fan service for powerful plants in Jurassic marsh, this is the perfect plant for the spring event! You have only one banana plant, and having a T. rex would be awesome, and could be the very first plant that is an actually a dinosaur! (Not counting Dino nip.) It would be as tall as tall nut, it would take a plants like peashooter,sunflower,walnut, and potato mine by eating them, and when it’s done, it spits them out, and they turn into primal plants! It can also eat 5 zombies if there are no plants in front of it. When it becomes eaten, it splashes it’s banana juice over plants, and they become primal! It takes a decent, a little bit less time than a chomper, and it when it gets powered up, it roars, and all the zombies in the lane fling off, and dinosaurs will be charmed in that lane as well! (From the roar.) also, you guys can make the bio. I hope you have the power in your hearts to make the very first Dino plant in pvz2! Happy planting at popcap you guys! Not as good as the legendary first game. I like this game a lot it has a bunch of new plants and old plants, but more then 3/4 of the this games plants cost money, I get it’s only five dollars but you don’t have to make every single plant cost money, and the only thing they do is make plants, they should make way more worlds to make the game actually fun, penny’s pursuit is impossible unless you have all your plants at least level 3 and the battle arena is is just going against bots which is soooo boring, and then they tried to fix the problem by making it so you can get cards to unlock the new plants but that didn’t change anything, if you really want a new plant because you like it’s play style then you should have to spend no more then a week or two playing to get that plant, not 3 months then uh oh, you can’t get that plants cards anymore, looks like you have to buy it because a new plant came out, oops sorry! This game used to be one of my favorite and I really felt like popcap or whoever made this game really was invested to making people have a fun time, but they literally just made it to make money, and I’m being generous by giving this three stars, it should be one

PvZ 1 is better. Ok, I have some issues with this game 1. They want you to spend every last penny you have but what can I do it about it it’s EA we are talking about here with they’re premium plants. I did the math and found out there is 22 premium plants and they each cost 5 bucks, that’s 110 right there which is absurd, and don’t even get me started with power ups. 2. I might sound like I’m bad at the game for this but this game is way too hard, I think they really try to make you to buy those premium plants 3. Ads. Why is there ads after every level, why is there adds for power ups, coins, and gems and if you didn’t know this also gives EA more money, like they needed more money. Even though I looked like I hated the game to the bottom of my heart there I still like some things 1. The world idea was good I like what they did with the world maps and the progression. 2. These new plants and zombies are really creative ideas from design to mechanics theses new plants are really creative. 3. The comeback of some of the old plants is really cool, and even though some are premiums they still came back. In conclusion I like this game but I still think plants vs zombies 1 is better.

Good but greedy. The original Plants vs zombies game is a classic. You had the core game and didn’t really need micro transactions for anything. Now cut to this one where after every level is an Angry Birds ad and pop up ads for the “premium” plants that should’ve been included in the base game. This is another example of EA taking a wonderful franchise and ruining it. I played this game when it first came out, I only got back into it because I remembered that PvZ turned 10 to find it not as I remember. Instead of awarding keys to levels after you got a challenger of a level done, now you get all of them after Egypt level 8 I believe. I wanted to love this game now but I can’t. It was amazing when it first came out but now I end up stop playing at times because of the ads. And I refuse to buy anything because I don’t to sell my soul to EA for one plant. Please if you ever make Plants vs Zombies 3, don’t do this again. Update! After playing this game for more time and thinking about how this games state is I have come to a finale conclusion, EA did right for a bit. Going by other games this company has made its good. Sure it has a lot of ads and it’s almost a necessity to eventually get a premium Plants it runs smooth, and it’s fun that’s the rest thank you for reading if you do.

Could do without the new update. The new update is causing too many crashes... right before completing a level the game will crash and I have to do it all over again. Also, I have to constantly restart the app in order to watch ads for gems/coins because after watching just one ad, clicking the ad button does absolutely nothing. Battlez was a good addition, however it could have been done better. There are too many players with premium plants which makes it extremely one sided. Why not have one player use zombies and the other plants, that would make it more fun. The new travel log is okay I guess but where are the daily quests? I haven’t gotten any since updating, which is so infuriating. It is already hard enough to get gems and now I am missing out on the 10 gems that used to be available daily. Why make the game harder for us to get gems... I don’t get it. Also, please fix the auto load to new level after completing one. I don’t want to be sent to the next level automatically, take me back to the main menu. It is so tedious to have to pause the game and exit out every time. All of these problems have only occurred since the update which really makes me wish I wouldn’t have updated! Everything was better before 😑😒

Extremely Impressive!. This is definitely the longest game I’ve ever played on the App Store. The game was very fun to play and I recommended it to literally everyone I know. Let me just say I’m honestly fine if no more worlds are added because I’d say Modern Day is a good way to end it off. If there was another world added though, I’d suggest bringing back more old plants because I miss some of the plants from the first game. Also, PLEASE bring back the music you removed from the game a while back. The music is what makes this game even better. So this is a really, really, really great game, it requires skill and patience. The game gets harder the further you go into it and it can definitely get really hard. I totally recommend at least trying this game. If you do try it though, do not skip worlds. Play them in order and go to the next world once you beat the first boss and maybe only boss of each world (if you don’t the levels get really hard, you should come back to those levels once you’ve beat the game) to have the most fun playing.

The original was better. Hear me out before you call me a fossil before the App Store deleted the .99¢ version without ads and made pvz free and full of ads this game was also in its hay day everyone was excited about the new plants traveling different times and the new features but EA made it a pay to play game and it really isn’t meant to be a mobile game anymore with all of the new features that drain your battery this game used to be fun and wouldn’t always crash when you finished a piñata party but I would periodically return to this game wanting a challenge and every time I’m reminded why I deleted it you can’t win pvp unless you pay to max out your plants there’s so many plants that you have to pay for it’s almost not worth having in the game you can now rent plants which is just another waste and the updates are supposed to keep the game “fresh” but the most important thing about a popular game is a good game and it’s just a cash hole freemium game without any actual strategy anymore the only way you can win is by spending money and this will most definitely be hidden because it’s not a good review but the original had all the fundamentals needed to make this game fun and EA making it a pay to play just ruined the fun

game is great, only writing this review for one thing.. Fisherman zombies. The worst zombie in the game. PvZ is supposed to be a fun tower defense game and having a strategy to deal with zombies with mechanics. Most zombies are bearable, the torch zombie and shovel zombie can sometimes be annoying but have their weaknesses. Gargantuars are easy enough. But the fisherman. It doesn’t make the game any more fun, and it doesn’t even feel good to beat the level with the horrid amount of fisherman zombies because you’re so stressed out by their stupid mechanics. They’re just so dumb, literally. It’s so hard to defeat them, because in beach there are tons of zombies blocking your plants from attacking them, and tangled kelp helps a bit but there are sometimes more than 5 all the time, and the kelp can’t take them all. And you always use your single use plants to defend your plants with the zombies upfront, but you end up losing because you didn’t defeat those stupid fisherman zombies. If I waste my cherrybomb to attack a group of fisherman in the back, the bucket head swarm gets my plants and I lose. I don’t have the jalapeño, and it wouldn’t even work because it only gets a single lane of fisherman zombies. I don’t expect you to remove the zombie, maybe not change it at all, but I just want to voice my opinion on how it ruins the game experience for me. But I still have arena so I guess this is alright 😔

Ruined by Micro-transaction model. This is a potentially great sequel to an already excellent game in the first PvZ. However, an exceptionally greedy micro-transaction model (especially with the latest update) and new power creep upgrade system ruins any potential for a well balanced game. Nearly half the plants are locked behind a premium $5 paywall (per plant!) including several classics such as the snow pea. There is no way that a game that should cost no more than $20 total should have hundreds of dollars worth of micro-transaction offers in every corner of the game. And the new upgrade system is no less heinous. If you wish to level up your plants, you must grind for random loot-crate like piñatas to slowly collect enough cards. In the first game, I loved the fact that the design of the levels often made them challenging, but I knew I could figure out a strategy and combination of plants to overcome the challenge. When I face a challenging level in this game, I simply wonder if my plants aren’t high enough level or if that particular level is in fact winnable with base-level plants. It saps almost all of the fun and satisfaction out of game with so much potential for those qualities. I feel like the developers and publishers have put much more time and effort into developing ways to get into customers’ wallets than they have into creating a fair and fun experience. If that’s not enough to leave a terrible taste in your mouth, the endless ads should be. What a shame...

Suggestions. So I’m suggesting some updates,plants and zombies for the next update so hope you add them. The first plant I want to be added is called “pea-berg” so it’s a mix of iceberg lettuce and peashooter and it shoots peas and if a zombie steps on it it gets stunned then it explodes and peas go flying in different lanes and make it where there’s a 50% chance of the pea of catching on fire when the zombie explodes and make the pea-burg a apease mint family plant and worth 25 sun The next plant is called “blower” and it blows zombies like hurrikale but after it blows it flings a random zombie off the board and it cost 100 sun and a contain mint family plant So this update I want in the future is called “garden and plantz” and it contains some new zombies. New zombies in the update I want is gardener zombies and cashiers the gardener zombie has a hose that can damage plants but after it reaches 5 tiles it drops it hose because the hose reaches it’s max distance. And the cashier zombies can have a cash register that they can smash the plants with and it has a 50% chance to drop coins and there can be customer zombies that appear only if the cashier zombie appears and a new plant is called “potato cannon. and it takes a random zombies after 10 seconds after eating it and uses the zombies head as a cannon ball. A zombie that I want to return is pogo zombie and zomboni.

To much changed, in a bad way. Ok before I get into flaws of the game, I like it, it very fun for what I can do. But there are sooooooooooo many ads, every time I complete a level there is an ad, I do not mind ads for rewards, but if you do nothing, you will come across an ad, so that is the major flaw of the game. But ever since you got rid of the world keys, the game felt different, the world keys made it so you could explore other worlds, not be stuck on a level for 8 weeks! Also, if you got stuck, you could explore a new world until you got stuck, then use those plants to get unstuck, the cycles continues. Another thing is how you just made WAYYYYY to many plants that need seed packets, plus, the game is extremely difficult and I feel as though the hard things should be optional, as then you can play freely, and then go back to do the harder version. Meanwhile, also make it so we get many packets and coins, also diamonds, so you do not have to pay to win, we also should not need 5000 to upgrade a plants to level 3. That just feels wrong. You already spend enough coins on getting the piñatas, and it is luck based to get the seeds you want, let alone getting the amount you want. So if you listen to the complaints, then you may make the game fun, realizing, and overall great. Goodbye. =l

A loyal player to EA since 2014.. PvZ 2 was an interesting game, it added multiplayer, constant updates in the campaign mode to keep the game relevant while developing the the anticipated (but terribly looking “mobile game” like) PvZ3. However, things took a turn for the worse in 2017, it released the level up system. This pay to win model was the lifeblood for arena, rewarding those who paid, as the removed the possibility to get gems playing endless or campaign mode to get seed packets to level up characters, instead, having to pay money or fight in a not necessarily fun, but more grindy multiplayer. (The multiplayer isn’t always well done.) This is disgraceful. A game that was known for it’s pick up and use your brain strategy, threw that away for the mindless micro transactions. Where anyone can go “ooh lookie here, it zayz pay for EZ winz, i love thiz game, buy buy buy. Ooh brainz” (mindless zombie/average player.)Making the games worse for those who can’t, or dont want to buy in game currency. I would have rated this a 2/5 star review, but it was an incredibly awesome game before the micro transactions business model. 4/5 stars.

Great game that needs minor bugs fixed. This is an absolutely solid game. However, there are bugs that require resetting the game from my iPhone because the progression tabs are all gray. Normally they could move forward or exit when this happens, but sometimes it's not the case. When I have my phone on silent, it's because I don't want my ringer or anything else going off, but if I select music and fx to be on in this game, it doesn't work UNLESS for some strange reason I'm connected to something like my car radio via Bluetooth/Car Play. And then, while I'm listening to music on an app, Plants vs Zombies turns the music down by 25-50% even when the game is on silent and I don't want that. I want to be able to have that either as an option or I set PvZ sounds on my own. I wa t to balance them myself. Not everyone is specific like this, but I know without fine tuning by the player, it's not going to work well for the majority of people. A minor critique is that the skip on ads opens the ad instead suggesting the button isn't aligned properly or PopCap has it set up on purpose this way. That's the only consistent bugs I'm aware that happens.

5 Star But: Awesome In (Almost) All Ways…. I love this game and I’ve been playing it for a number of years. Changes over the years with the inclusion of Arena competitions that change every few days and daily challenges, along with the continuous addition of new plants helps to keep things fresh, fun and engaging. I rarely leave reviews anywhere, but a relatively recent glitch has me writing one now. It has to do with playing Arena challenges. Every so often (but often enough that this is really becoming an issue), right in the middle of the game, the app just shuts down and kicks me off of the platform. And what ends up happening then is I lose the gauntlet required to play that game, and also the satisfaction of knowing whether or not I was actually going to win or not. This isn’t a huge issue overall, but it does mean I end up forfeiting a gauntlet when I may not have actually lost, and I also then don’t receive whatever prize I would have received for that game’s win. And as there’s no way to recoup that particular game or gauntlet, it just kind of feels like a rip off, tiny though it is. Over time, those small rip offs add up, you know? And the overall effect is….irritating, to say the least. I wish the developers would address this bug. I’m sure enough money is being made by them without having to nickel and dime loyal players here and there. Then this game would have my full-throated endorsement of a true 5 star game without the caveat in the title.

What were they THINKING?!. The first game was a masterpiece. A defense game combining strategy of your arsenal and how you use it. Then... EA came. Even at the beginning of the second one, this game was great! A few premium transactions, but nothing that bad. I come back now, and more than half are premium! Not only that, but it gives you all the keys while you're in the tutorial! Beat the 8th level, and you unlock all of it. Where's the challenge in that? I liked it when you had to beat the gargan-something-or-other of each world to get another key. Why did they make it so you get them all immediately? Not only that, but the regular plants are even mostly premium! You need to level them up, but after level 2 or 3 the seed packets you need to get to the next one are at astronomical levels! Why would they do that? In all, if you want to listen to half of your fan base, give us the option to go back to the old version of this game(with the addition of the new worlds) although, I was thinking. The premium plants appear in a special type of space that doesn't exist anywhere else. After you beat the game, maybe that could unlock a super hard world, but if you beat it, you unlock all the freemium plants, in that blue matrix style.

Fun game, but some problems. I love Plants vs. Zombies, and I’ll start off with the positives by saying that this is a very fun game. It’s addictive! I like all the different themes and the cool new plants. Power ups make the game exciting. There’s a lot to do and endless hours of levels to play. I probably enjoy playing this one more than the first one. However, my main complaint is that everything is RIDICOUSLY overpriced. Some plants you have to pay for with real money, $5 a plant is insane!!! It should cost maybe $5 to unlock all premium plants, then that would be reasonable, and Popcap would get way more purchases. It’s sad that Popcap is turning a classic family game into a money grabbing charade. It’s sad and greedy. You can have a lot of fun with this game, but about half the things are locked unless you pay like $50 to buy it all. Anyway, Crazy Dave is back again, but I don’t like how differently he acts compared to the first one. His new personality is annoying and you should’ve left him as the original way he was. There’s a lot to explore in this game, and it may seem a little overwhelming to a new player. It’s a complicated set-up when you open the app, so maybe organize it more. But yeah, I still really like this game, it’s one of my absolute favorites. But please LOWER YOUR PRICES. And continue making Plants vs. Zombies games.

Great game, but getting constant crashes lately. First and foremost, the game is great- great levels, great story, great difficulty scaling (even though some levels are impossible without certain plants and/or using coins), and so on. Though the fact that most of the original plants cost money is pretty petty, no reason to be charging money for the plants that made the first (and free) PvZ to what it is now. But anyways, recently I’ve been experiencing a ton of crashes, one after another, where the game just freezes, which is unusual in my experience, and in turn really screws up the gameplay experience. So if you guys could figure out what’s wrong, that’d be fantastic. Oh, and as a final note, nothing huge or anything, but the game and AppStore claims that I have not gotten the achievement for beating the Modern Day levels, even though I’ve completed every level months ago and am still using the same account. This has made my goal of getting all Achievements, which I’m only about six-ish away from, impossible, because the game doesn’t recognize what I’ve already completed, so if you guys could also help out with that, that’d be awesome

Good game but has a Garbage update.. I think it’s a great game. I play it all the time, probably to much. But what happened to the challenge of having to beat the Gargantaur Boss fight, to move on to the next Area. I used to play this when I was younger, and I liked how each Area posed a challenge, Like how Ancient Egypt had the Camel Tap or whatever it’s called, and like the Coconut Cannon game in the Pirate Seas, but why’d you get rid of the other challenges? Like in Frostbite Caves, and The Lost City? My favorite was the Lost City Storm, and now with the new Garbage update I can’t play it now. And why did more then half of the Plants have to be Premium?! I mean it’s not bad to want to make a few bucks on a great game like this, but seriously more then half the Plants? It’s a great game and think it has great potential. But I wish Popcap would keep all the special challenges in the different Areas. Oh and if Popcap reads this, I think it would be Way Awesome if you did a multiplayer mode where you could like pick a deck of Plants and the other Player could pick a deck of Zombies. I’m asking to much, but if you have another update, please add that Multiplayer thing, cause I would rate you 5 stars if you did. Anyway that’s just my point of view.

You can get these plants on sale in game but my problem is that you’re still spending more than 50 bucks just to have all of them what would be better is if all plants cost like one dollar because for five bucks you can buy the original PvZ on PC for five bucks or (1 depending on sale) we’re all the original plants are free . And it doesn’t stop there The entire progression system needs You to pull out your wallet so it would be nice if you could up the scale of which people could earn gems this way people can earn some of the premium plants way faster instead of spending a whole month just to get two plants so far everything else about this game is pretty well done even down to the soundtrack so only get this game if you have more than 80 bucks to spend another thing you should do is make it so that you don’t have to spend so many gems on seed packets and zen garden pots and make it so that premium plants go on sale more often and I mean the plants lock behind a money paywall not a gem paywall and make it so that missions give you more gems also one more thing completely unrelated but could u pls port pvz gw1 to switch and maybe port the Pvz console edition to switch cuz just imagine pvz console vs mode on switch i mean people wanted them both on pc why not go for switch

BEST game ever!!. This is the best game I’ve ever played.😄 I’m pretty picking when it comes to mobile games but, this game is a great strategy game that takes some thinking to strategize a good win. Now I’ve read some reviews about the game being to hard but, this game has ways around the...for example fishermen zombie just use the infi-nut power up and it covers all the lanes from the fisherman hooks from killing the plants. If you like fun games that you never get bored of, or a games with tons of plants to collect and zombies to kill, and 12 whole maps to beat, with and tons of game modes and daily activity than this game is for you. Now if you are a giver upper and get upset because you can’t beat a level the first try and are losing because of the fisherman zombies than this game isn’t for you. This game takes a good amount of time to complete but when is over you just want to play it all over again but don’t worry there’s still penny’s pursuit, and the arena which are super fun and you can still collect plants from. I don’t usually write reviews but this game deserves it and I’ve been enjoying this game ever since this game came out, I just love it . So download the game and you won’t be sorry, and thanks to the people who made this amazing game. God bless.🥳

Great game ruined by ads. I’m an OG PvZ player. I remember when it first came out, and I loved it. Then, I didn’t play for many years, but a couple years ago I started playing again. And I loved it, it’s been part of my daily morning routine while I’m having my coffee. However, recently the ads have been more and more present, and more and more annoying. They last forever after you finished a game, and you can’t skip them for the longest time. If your phone is not on silent, the ads will play aloud by default, even if the sounds on the app are off. Often times I have the intention to keep playing but I just close the app instead, cause I can’t stand the ads. It completely ruins the user experience. I’m an adult, but if I had a young child I’d not let them play it because of the content of the recent ads. It’s about some makeover game, that has a really bad and negative message about body image, and that I don’t think it’s suitable for young children. I’m not a prude, it’s not about things being sexual, it’s about making fun of people because of certain physical features, and how to “improve” their look. Aside from the content, just the length of the ads and how often they come up while you’re playing ruin the whole game.

A buggy, glitchy, micro transaction filled master peace. I love plants vs zombies, the original is one of my favorite games of all time. the sequel, however, is so close to being great. If you like challenge this game has it. However, the game is absolutely ruined by bugs and glitches, the music doesn’t play at all, it won’t stop telling you about the travel log every time you open the map, and worst of all, oh man worst of all, if you start a new save the zen garden tutorial will freeze the game every time you start a level and have plants in your garden. This makes the game nearly unplayable! And now onto my original gripe with this game, micro transactions! this game has it all, gambling mechanics which prey upon children, or as they are called in game ‘piñatas’. The best plants are either locked off behind timed events or purchases. It’s just, it asks for money at every corner, “oh get more coins here, oh pay for power ups, oh get gems to speed up this thing, it’s all so… infuriating. The worst part about all of this is that the game itself isn’t bad, the gameplay is fun and not too addicting, it provides interesting and fun challenges, but this is all overshadowed by its major flaws in quality of life and it’s micro transaction.

The game is fun.... The game is fun, don’t get me wrong, but when looking back at the original game, it’s easy to see the heart and inspiration that went into it. When I open pvz, I’m greeted with a calm, memorable menu, it’s the opposite with pvz2, you get a boring background with new, recycled events, and plants you can buy for around 5 dollars, and that’s just the beginning. The original game was never supposed to be hard in my opinion, i mean, if I could beat it as a 7 year old, it seems fairly reasonable that it’s not supposed to be difficult and I think the reason for that is because most people want to get levels over with so they can get the next new plant. With the games accelerating difficulty, the process of gaining new plants becomes slow. You can buy plants for 5 dollars, most of them are pretty trashy cards designed to appear interesting. Some of the purchasable plants can also be won for free in the first game. Another complaint is the music, obviously I can’t expect this game to be perfect, but it seems very far from that on the wide scale. the game lacks the same relaxing music as the original and adds in an amazingly annoying attempt at an ost. Once again the gameplay is great, the same as the first game, I like the plant good idea and the changes in the maps. I like the battlez idea but EA milked money with that idea also.

Great game but........ First of all,I <3 this game, but they took a few things that kind of ruined it a little. First of all, I have noticed me winning against a few zombies and then not appearing in the almanac. This is annoying because I sometimes check the almanac when I can’t beat a zombie. And sometimes they make a zombie rediculously annoying and it doesn’t even appear in the book so I have no way of knowing how to defeat it easily! Also, if someone has found a way to get the bucket of money in the piñata I would like to meet them because the alternative is spending MORE money on the bucket. Not only that, I’ve encountered a glitch that makes me unable to play the game on my phone. It shows the title screen and then kicks me out! What’s more, this hasn’t happened on any other device so could you please fix it? Another thing is that they took the really good plants and then charged money for them! The ones they didn’t charge money for they make you play gems or mints for. And then I end up spending more money on gems! Like I’m trying to beat this game without spending money but it’s complicated. So please take these things up with the creators thank you

What a great game!. I'm impressed with your game! No really, I am. I loved all your eras and plants and I can't wait to finish all the eras. Arena is super fun and I always win. Penny's pursuit is awesome, too. There're just a few suggestions: #1: Can you please add a travel map for penny's pursuit? #2: Do you think you can unlock all the levels in each era? #3: Will you add another era that has roman zombies? For #4: I'll have a free play mode that will make me experiment with plants even when they are locked, and zombies (including cardio zombie, Z-mech, roman zombies, and Zombots) even when I have not defeated them yet. Free play mode will also have different eras. #5: you should bring back the old Zomboss podiums. Finally, I'll have another new era that will have 10 daytime lawn levels, 10 nighttime lawn levels, 10 daytime pool levels, 10 nighttime pool levels with fog, 9 daytime roof levels, and a nighttime roof level with a Zomboss battle. The new era will also have a new endless zone. That will be for #6. Those I told you should be available in the next update. See you soon 😉

I am confused. I like this game to play and it is quite fun althought there are ads after almost each and every level. Thats besides the point of the review. I purchased enough seed packets to get a plant with 20 gems and since it was a product that you had to use real money to buy , i didnt get my plant so i want either a refund in my gems or to actually get the plant. My request is simple but it probably wont be found, if it does have a great day.

Fantastic. The only mobile game I’m currently enjoying. Although premium plants are expensive the developers do have to make money as the game is free to play and plus you can be completely successful without premium plants anyway. I love everything about this game. Love it to bits! I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!! Only 1 thing that I think needs a bit of a change is the leveling up system of plants. I’ve seen you tubers have a HUGE advantage with leveled up plants so please make seed packets a little less of a grind for free to play players! Thank you!

Freezes so often….still 5 stars. Awesome never ending Game…..lately it has been crashing…you pass the level, win/lose tournament battle and then it freezes…never ending blue circles in between levels and that’s it….tried waiting, touching screen left or right, nothing helps but….deleting it and reinstalling it again….luckily Your profile gets saved so You continue where you left off….please fix this more than annoying let down….

Suggestions, Love the game though!. Overall, this game keeps me engaged and it’s really fun to play with its unique concepts. Although, I’d like to see some of the old things from the original game in future updates. Such as how some of the special plants had to be planted on top of another certain plant. For example, the Gatling pea had to always be planted on top of a Repeater in all levels. Even still, these plants were harder to get, making a goal for players to reach. I’d also like to see some sort of picture of Crazy Dave in the current shop like the original game with him giving his “crazy” comments.

Good but a little pay to win. This games as my title says is a little pay to win. I mean you can easily pass the levels with out any paying but it is a bit of a struggle on some levels I truely found out how pay to win it was when gold bloom and coldsnap dragon were on trial they are just game breaking, apart from the ads (turn on airplane mode:)) this is actually nice the graphics are improved zen garden is reworked and this was my childhood thanks of being there Plants Vs Zombies will always miss you

Great game, BUT.... I love this game. One of my favourite childhood games, I remember skipping from halfway through Ancient Egypt straight to Modern Day and raging. One problem: a new bug patch has made it so that I can’t play the game. I enter the game, press the “play” button on the main menu, then it proceeds to kick me out of the game halfway through loading. Such a shame as well, I was enjoying it. I could gripe about this game - BUT -. I’ve been playing this game for years and have a whinge from time to time but - it’s held my interest. I can’t say that about any other game. The gameplay is good, games are short, there’s plenty of variety, the graphics are great, and don’t listen to the whingers, you can do very well without paying a cent. There are some game elements I don’t like as much, but they are easily ignored. Great game.

PvZ gw2 is cool. I always love! PvZGW2 but can you make it offline on the xbox one and ps4 please it would be VERY AWESOME!!! but I still love it a lot thanks your the best. Developers read this. I love this game and I played the original with my uncle when I was 5, I’m 14 now so I’m a pretty big fan. I’ve recently re downloaded the game to find a bug, when I Finnish a level the travel log pops up and tell me a quest. The. It goes away. Yet it comes back up again and so forth, it keeps on appearing and Dis appearing until I have to restart the game. I have the newest iPad and I got it one hour ago from writing this review so I’m assured this is a bug with the game not my device. If you could look into this that would be great. Jacob

Such a good game but... I had this game for years and everyone was so good. The levels were challenging and interesting and they had arenas. I enjoyed the game. I wanted to come back to the game and found out all my work after all these years suddenly disappeared. I was so disappointed (these were also saved on icloud) I have no idea what happened to my data and I was devastated.

I Love The Game but it has some crushes. I really love playing plants vs Zombies. It has always different levels and challenges that keeps the game exciting. I only have problem regarding the app when playing the Arena because it always crushes recently everytime I play. It doesn’t let me finish the game and hence it doesn’t let me win. It’s quite frustrating. Hopefully they will fix this issue soon.

Fun. I like this the graphics are different the sunflowers give 50 instead of pvz 1s 25 they removed spikerock needing spikeweed not sure if good or bad makes it easier to place less cost less seed slots taken the sequel is freeing the plants cost money they used to cost 0.99 now they all cost 7.99 probably to help support pvzh the game is great except 1 thing I've lost plants to the updates gem plants are only on one profile and I lost ghost peeper to an update and this one made me lose dandelion it is Anyang that updates glitch the game also all my progress all lvl 4 plants I had gone thanks update so I lost completion of all worlds except the ones I didn't finish big epwave beach and hell levels ... I wish the updates wouldn't glitch it out a friend said that's why you backit up to Facebook but I don't see that option I'm probably been dumb

Great game but too stucked. I was trying to openthe app on my new iPhone X but it is not loading. Was stuck at the-opening screen forever and no changes. Also apparently not fitting to the larger srceen,perfect for iPhone 8 but not X. ………………………………………………………… I'm stuck when playing the endless mode in Far Future scene. It took me 2 days to finish one single level!!! And it happened for at least three or for times!!! I hope future updates can at least solve this problem coz there's no fun waiting for frozen game!

TASTELESS CASHGRAB. The Original Plants vs. Zombies was such an amazing game and it was executed so well by just a small group of developers that managed to make a full game with a ton of content but without any ADS or MICRO-TRANSACTIONS... Because those people took pride in their work. Now EA has made the franchise into another tasteless cash grab. I’d rather pay full price for a game and not have those in the game, I feel like i’m getting ripped off just looking at these micro transactions prices, $8 for a plant that you’d unlock in the first game within 15 mins of playing and that’s just one example. I can’t even defend this game for its good core gameplay because it’s just original PvZ. with a few new elements thrown in. New plants, zombies and levels are interesting however that is just it.

Great, but one thing. I redownloaded this game after a year and a half of not playing it (my iPad got reset.)I went into the game, loaded everything up, and then deleted all of my useless players, and tried to add a second one(I still left one player.) Realising this, I went to the internet, and found out some solutions, none to my likings. So, i decided to write this review. Please make it possible to create multiple accounts easily. Apart from this, it’s an incredible game. I am going to enjoy playing this.

Great game with big potential but needs improvement. This game is great, one of the best out there. It’s evolved so much from the first game, so much more content. But I have three suggestions for the game: 1. Expand Big Wave Beach or add another water-based world (eg. Vikings) because the number of aquatic plants is lacking. 2. Move the rest of the plants from PvZ 1 to PvZ 2 (eg. Doomshroom, Iceshroom, Gatling Pea, Cattail, etc.) because the game world be so much better with those plants. 3. Add a gem price as well as a real-life money price because the fact that free-to-play players can’t acquire plants in PvZ 2 because they don’t pay is wrong.

Last stand and some plant ideas. Hey plants vs zombies 2 is fun and really enjoyable but I really wish there was a last stand mode and the Gatling pea or corn canon from pvz1 and here are plants that I made up 1 of them is the trio Sun flower and you plant it on your twin sunflower you unlock it by beating accent Egypt day 25 The other one is the mini pea it's a really weak pea shooter that shoots really fast and is unlocked by beating the final day in accent Egypt Also please add this one the holographic pea a pea shooter that has low health but reacharges or is invincible but weak your choice beat far future day 15 PRICES:trio sunflower 100 + twin sunflower reacharges 20 seconds Mini pea price 150 reacharge 10 seconds Holographic pea cost 150 reacharge 15 seconds please add them if not add last stand because pvz1 had it and I want to see how well my strategy is and I know there's the prymid and so on but last stand mode has no lawn mowers and you keep going if you add this please add endless last stand for all worlds I wrote this with care please read this PopCap.

This game is so fun. I have been playing this game on the 2022 update of it, it has lots of zombie it has much more higher graphics than the first game, there was absolutely no bugs at all except the pirate seas music glitched when the zombies make loud sounds, I played it in 2021 but I got bored when I got to Jurassic marsh level 12 because of no new zombies but I builded up the courage to play it to Jurassic marsh again! I am on level 20 of Jurassic marsh and it is fun, I learned to appreciate the dinosaurs, this game is so fun each world with moderators like pirate seas: water Wild West: mine carts frostbite caves: the chilling winds lost city:the gold tiles far future: the power tiles dark ages: no sun neon mixtape tour music that activates zombie’s special effects and make normal zombies walk faster & slower Jurassic marsh: dinosaurs big wave beach:the tide or water modern day: king i earth warps

Great game. This is a fun and very addictive game. My main problem is that after an update, the extra levels (such as Ancient Egypt day 26-35) from all worlds disappeared, which is a shame. The zen garden could be bigger like in the first game, but it has different mechanics so I understand why, but it would be better if it had an extra row or column, considering the massive amount of pots you can get for it just by playing. Another downside is that snow pea, chomper, and torchwood costs money. Either way, they aren't gamebreaking negatives, so it's still a good game.

Worse then ever!. The game barely resembles what it once was, levelling system that was introduced significantly ruins game progression making it unchallenging, but that is not the worst problem! The worst problem isn’t even the ridiculously overpriced store! It’s the ADS, before you were able to watch 5 second ADS only if you wanted rewards, and even then you could skip them anytime. Now you are forced to watch 30 second ADS that are UNSKIPPABLE regardless wether you want a reward or not! Every FEW minutes of gameplay you are forced to watch a 30 second AD. Half the time you play this game you are ether closing a stupid pop up, or watching UNSKIPPABLE ADS. This game is horrible and is a perfect example of EA’s GREED!! Please do your self a favour and UNUNSTALL!

Oh yeah I 'member 🍇. I used to play this all the time like back when the last world was the ice cave world and I used to play a world until I got up to the world key then move to the next one. After a few years (now) one of my friends still played it so I decided to revisit it and OH MY GOD it has changed SO much, now you can only get world keys from ancient Egypt. It just makes me want to go back to an older version of the game, which is why I checked out the app store and now I'm writing this review. The game just gives me so much nostalgia

Amazing but.... This game is literally amazing and I’ve loved it since I was really young. But there is one thing that does annoy me. I might have a boosted plant that I’m saving for a particular level, but then there’s the piñata party or some quest that I play and it uses that plant, and it doesn’t give a warning. This really annoys me because there’s a boosted plant gone and I couldn’t even help it. I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, or if it’s just me, but I think this would be great feature to add to the game and it would be helpful for everyone.

Fun but hard. This is fun however this is pay to win. There are levels that require you to use power-ups or buying plant food. Some other levels require you to spend cash to buy premium plants. In addition, levels such as Big Wave Beach is very annoying as the zombies keep getting in your defence. Big Wave Beach day 28 is impossibly hard and I spent at least 8000 coins on power-ups and still didn’t beat the level.

Too much for an iphone. This game is a insane step from the first one. Its a big jump similar to a Call of duty game. I have to complain that there are so much quests and levels available at once that i do not understand whats the better one to go for as u can jump between worlds. Also the gams is laggy and struggles still with a lot going on in play. The matching zombie puzzle game is too slow as they show their picture and the flip back is too long instead of instant and it doesnt keep up - hence the whole review. I am frustrated as this was keeping me occupied at work at quite periods, now im happy to just sit here with the radio not worth the stress and anger. There will be a time where the game will muck up as in I finished a level by spending the coins on power ups and when i went back into it, it had me start from where i paused it. Re-opened the game and strangely i finished the level. Unsure what else to mention....the blue pea shooter you have to pay for! In the end heaps to do but to play it theres simply too much going on

Great game, but one really annoying bug. *Developers please see this and fix it ASAP*. This game is a great game for passing time because you can do it with or without wifi. It has plenty of worlds and tons of different zombies in each world. I would 100% recommend this game. But there is one big problem, there is a glitch where there is no music for some reason. It just doesn’t feel the same without the music. Mixtape tour doesn’t feel the same, modern day doesn’t feel the same. So developers, please see this and fix it.

I really enjoy the game but I talk about this mint glitch. So I’ve been playing this game/plant vs zombie for a lot of years I don’t know how many but I know I’ve played more then 4 years but besides that I, was playing this game and I was trying to get winter mint as soon as I got 100 mints I was excited to get the winter mint but when I went to the shop to buy it I had 0 mints, and I was upset and confused so I’m asking. Fix the mint glitch cause this is a new glitch cause I look up, if this glitch happened but I haven’t seen any comment about this disappearing mint glitch all I found was something about plants being gone and one of my plants are gone but that’s not really important right now. Plus when the mint stuff started to happen and the arena was new I played the glitch never happened even a year later this glitch didn’t happen so what ever time this review was sent that’s how you know when this glitch started thank you for reading hope you have a nice day and good bye.

It’s amazing even now. Since I kid I’ve loved and been total obsessed with it, to see a new version with more levels, bigger backstories and new plants is amazing! It’s come very far in its development of graphics and deserves to still be popular!!! Though I would like to see a newer version looking closely like the old one of a Venus flytraps personal favourite like to see it back! Taking The Game To New Heights. Hi, Plants Vs. Zombies 2 is an amazing strategy game, that I’ve been playing for more than 4 years. I’m loving how much the game has changed, and I’m loving all the new plants and levels. I think it would be a cool Idea to add even more. My ideas for new plants are Lemons, Pineapples, Acorns, Cotton Plants & Dragonfruit. Also, some ideas for 3 new worlds would be Ancient Greece, Ancient China & Space Travel (1950’s). I hope you take interest in these ideas, thank you!

Probably the only game in the app store worth your time. Been playing it on and off for years now (since 2015) this is the only game so far that isnt a boring reskin of some grindfest with false gameplay vids showing epic battles, where instead you level up the same houses over and over and enter a map where you ”battle” (watch your character have a seizure as the bar fills up and says you have won) plants vs zombies is fun, rewarding and you dont need to be a credit card warrior to win or progress in the game. They always keep it running great and have updates when needed, fresh challenges make it not so stale like other games, the ONLY game I would recommend on this store so far, if anyone knows of a game similar I would love to play it!

Love it but.... Am enjoying the game, I never bought this before it was free to download but I played the first game. I have no issues apart from whenever I finish a level, the game glitches and a notification pops up, I press it, it goes away for a second and comes back. I need to swipe off the app, open and reload the whole thing just to get to the next level... I’m still able to pass but this is very time consuming and annoying when I just want to relax and play some good ole PvZ. Probably a big but needs to be fixed as I know there’d be people who don’t have the patience or time to deal with bugs/hitches.

RIGGED MUCH?. Addicted to this game.... which is unfortunate because even though it frustrates me slightly, I still play it daily. Is getting far too complicated these days, too many things going on. I understand it needs to be new and exciting but ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’. Loved being able to buy plants with gems, I will never spend money on in app purchases making the game unfair. I play the piñata party twice daily since second game started (better part of a year), that’s 730(ish) games and have won the jackpot once. Even my luck can’t be that bad. Rigged much? Will still play it though. Daily. For now. UPDATE: advertising just went to a whole new level of annoying and keeps glitching. I’m out.

Too many ads. I too have been playing this game for many years. Completed V1 on my old PC. Completed V2 on a tablet. It’s a great game, one I would willingly pay for. This V2 has a great new feature with the Arena, as you can continue playing it when you complete all the levels. My beef today is, there are too many ads, I mean really TOO many ads. There is an ad after you finish ANY game play. This is way too much, a game play can last only a few minutes and you are slogged with another ad. Come developers give us a break, I understand and accept that you need advertising but this is way too much.

Love the game. As said in the title, I love the game, however what I don’t like is that you have a to buy some plants with real world money and they aren’t cheap either. For the Apple Mortar it is $8 and yeah you have to make money somehow but I would just like the micro transactions to be restricted to in game currency not the actual tools you use to play the game. Again I love the game, I just don’t like how you need to spend money to get some really cool plants.

Maker mode!. This is one of my favourite games and I love it a lot but you should add a mode called maker mode where you can combine plants to make new combo plants and combine zombies to make new zombies and you can also make your own levels by choosing the time period and the types and number of zombies and you can use your combo zombies for it! Gameplay glitch. To be honest, pvz2 I s a great game but there is glitch. That glitch is the quality. I don’t know why but the quality is very glitchy. I ‘m not being mean to the quality or anything it’s just that the quality is glitchy hope you can fix it. But other then that pvz2 Is a great game to play. Also this only happened to my pvz2 for some reason don’t know if this happened to any other users of this game.

Plants vs zombies. I hated this game so much but some bits are fun as well I just think the game is a bit pay to win as well and I do hope the game can get more updates and I can by a really fun but hell at the same time especially the beach levels are really hard to me one level taking 3 days to complete spoilers But I still had fun My rating is probably a 4.8 stars More like 1 stars but that is just my opinion

Loads of fun, limited by pay-to-win. Great game, with loads of fun content that has expanded over the last few years. That being said, it’s sad to see the game limited by becoming increasingly favoured towards pay-to-win. One other thing is that the ads show up frequently, which I don’t mind, however, some ads don’t have an “x” or exit option, which leaves me to leave and enter the game every time this happens. I’m not sure whether this is just on iPhones, or on androids as well, but this is a huge inconvenience for players, which I feel could be easily amended.

:(. Hey guys this is kinda silly, but I spent over 30$ on this game, and I had to restart cause of a glitch it kept teleporting me on the game, then of the game. My dad suggested that I delete it and get it back, I didn’t know that you’r progress didn’t save I beat modern day in hospital, I was very happy when I got home to see my family the glitch happened, kind regards -(I’m not saying my name)

All is not lost but EA & POPCAP have ruined BattleZ after last update.. The rewards got nerfed, the higher you go in the league the less you get. Forget trying to get a streak past 6 or 7. The game beats you no matter how good the setup, guaranteed every time to lose around battle 6 or 7, seriously. That way players are encouraged to gem their streak just to maintain it. What a rort that is. I used to get worthwhile rewards being in top 3, but now it’s hardly worth the effort. Why make the changes? Anything with EA’s name on it inherently gets ruined over time. Take the Battlefield series for example...now PVZ has followed a similar path, once it was a great collection to play, now not so much. It’s all about the $$$ and less about the end user. And Yes, I paid for some of the game features, so it’s not like I’m a scab who moans about wanting a premium game for free. Just another case of corporate takeover, where the big guys are ruining the industry’s player base by removing the fundamentals....player enjoyment and good rewards for their effort and commitment.

Great game but could use some changes. Hi PopCap. So I recently started playing this game again but I have 2 small issues. 1# we can only make 1 profile and that really annoys me and 2# In Modern Day there’s a problem where the only music that plays is a small bit of Final Wave and it annoys me not having music for Modern Day because every other world has music. So please fix the music and let us have more profiles again please. Thank you

Love this game, but not the ads. I have always loved this game, its great and addictive, especially with all the challenges that get updated frequently. My only annoyance is the influx of ads that have started to pop up constantly. I have always loved playing this game especially because it never had adverts in it but now it has so many it gets rather annoying and I have stopped playing it at for periods of time because of this. The ads tend to go for 30seconds and are difficult to exit, they constantly send you to the App Store to buy the advertised game.

Pay to Win. The latest update to the rewards system means that it will now take you 29 years to level up some plants if you play every day AND win every game you play. Updated 1 May 2019. I thought it was a grind before. Next section is the original review. Another good game ruined by a blatant and over the top cash grab. You will be able to make some progress without spending any real money, then you will hit a bottleneck, where progress grinds to a halt. The cost of leveling up plants beyond the first few levels increases exponentially, in some cases 291,000 coins and 7,185 seed packet to get just one plant to max level. To put that in perspective you get 100 coins for playing one of the world levels and if you are willing to watch ads you can get 2,000 coins a day from the piñata party. Basically, 145 days of play to level up one plant. You can get more coins from playing Battlez, but good luck winning many matches if you don't have high level of premium (can only be purchased with real money) plants. Seed packets are similarly choked beyond the first couple of levels. Requiring either real money or a ridiculous time investment to progress.

Great but…….. The game is great and fun and has so many levels but I have two issues. The first issue is that in arena you get demoted so whenever I take a break for a few days or I have to go somewhere for a few days I get demoted. I understand that you want people to play to stay in there league but it is really annoying. My other issue is that to get plants fully maxed it takes nearly thousands of seed packets and in my opinion that is really annoying. I would much prefer if some level like level 5 is the max level you can go and that way they get way more powerful and you don’t have to spend countless hours grinding to get seed packets.

Fun and then it’s not. The game starts quite innocently with a fun story and small fun gimmicks. Then you start to progress through the worlds and everything becomes more luck based than the piñata slot machines. Levels become more infuriating than fun and unless you have $1000 free this game will kill you to bits. Over 50% of the plants are locked behind a paywall costing over $7 each (about 20 or more payed plants). Most of the plants through the story are unusable because they are meant for the specific levels. The multiplayer isn’t even pvp more like a luck of the draw. And then there is pennies quests which rely on upgraded plant. The plants all start at level 1 with a max rank of 20. From what I saw from a previous reviewer it will take 29 years of constant grinding for a free to play. Do not touch this game if you want to keep your sanity. Go play the first game which is 100% better than this.

I beat the game but…. It was because of the glitch in the game that gave me inf piñata party’s that what made my snap pea level 7 and have 270,000 coins but if you think about it would take like 100 days to do that and snap pea was the plant of the week so it will be impossible to get snap pea to level 10 in the plant of the week and with the coins I got power ups but if you did not have the glitch I would take you years to beat the game I played the game for a while before mints but I did not spend even 1 cent on it and before then the levels where very hard why could not be like the original pvz and the soon release of pvz 3 looks like more of a mobile game it’s shifting into mobile games also my favourite pvz games where PvZ1 PvZgw and PvZgw2 why because they where unique please I know PopCap won’t see this but please change the game back to its better phase if I could make pvz3 I would be very very unique and this should not get any rewards problay when it started it got rewards

Guide( my recommendation. At the start of my time I recommend using your keys properly and use them level by level, for e.g. finish pirate seas and go on to Wild West, if you get 100 gems then you should really get the fire peashooter, I recommend it because it of its flame bullet .If you play big wave beach get the tangle kelp because it’s really easy to get zombie kills with. My favourite lineup normally uses nightshade, infi nut and fire peashooter the rest is optional.

Power Mints Could've Been A Bit Cheap And Great. I love Power Mints but if you miss it you can't get them anymore and your forced to buy a different Power Mint and Power Mints feel expensive because of how much mints you needed to purchase them and how much you get it requires so much but you only get so little you either make the power mints cheaper or give the player more mints and I hate how you gotta purchase seed packets for the power mints WWWHHHHHHHYYYYYY the player are giving the option to beat quests to get a pintina full seed packets, replay stages, or buy a Pintias from the store so what's this game excuse

Plants vs zombies is a fun game but way difficult to finish the game.. I love plants vs zombies. It has been one of my childhood games since I was four. But I quit the game when I was 9 because I had never completed the game. It difficult and can’t pass levels. This game is fun but way to difficult to play. When I started playing again last week, I have seen how much this game has changed and with the brand release of plants vs zombies 3, I am willing to play the game soon when it’s releases to Australia.

Bugs bugs and bad mechanics. First of all, the volume is gone, whenever I play the game, the sound is nonexistent. That is a bug for sure. Another error is that when I play Battlez, it puts me up with people who either get a head start or somehow get more points even if there are no zombies on the screen. Also in battlez, you get matched with people that are better then you, it really doesn’t make sense because you would lose every time. Another thing is that why are the premiums 7.99? That is way to expensive for just one thing in a game. It’s best to not even spend money on the game. Last complaint, why does it cost more money to buy gems then premiums. You can buy 100 gems, which is more expensive then a premium, you can even buy a premium with gems. So then it would cost more. Overall they should make less about the money and fix many problems they have with the game, but it is a good game.

Huge let down from PvZ 1. A few years ago I played plants vz zombies 1 and loved the game soo much I replayed multiple times. I was thrilled to see that there was a second version of the game, but was extremely disappointed to see what it had become… over complicated and hyper focused on coins and excessive ads, that you can’t even pay to remove. When I first opened the game I was almost convinced that it was a third party imitation rather than an official title because the graphical style chosen seemed two dimensional and lacking charm of the original. Some of the levels are soo busy that the game lags and freezes even on my 2022 iPad mini. It is very unfortunate because the foundation of the game was perfect and this version seems like a cash grab.

What has happened to this great game?. I played this game when it came out and it was amazing. Only reason I didn't keep playing it was because of storage on my old devices. I've been looking for a new game recently and thought I would get this again because it was great. My god give ea a prize for being able turn an amazing game into absolute crap in a matter of 2 years since I've last checked on it. The standard well made progression system that was originally in place has been ruined. Now you can open lootboxes to get plants earlier rather than progress through the game and feel rewarded. Rather than beating levels with strategy and bringing the proper set of plants, it's now about the level of your plants that deciding whether you win or not. The stages were adjusted towards this as well. The stages seem much harder than I remember them and using plant food is way too common now rather than before where you could play pvz normally and plant food as a last resort. IF IT AINT BROKEN DONT FIX IT EA and the pvz formula was sure as hell not broken, why did you think adding the problems of most mobile games nowadays was a good idea. Idiots.

Okay let’s calculate the amount of time watching ads in this game.. Ads play every time you win or lose a level. There are 312 levels in total, and the ads are always 30 seconds unskippable. This amounts to 312 30-second ads, which amounts to 2 hours 36 minutes. Now let’s say players lose one in eight games. This amounts to 39 more ads, which equals 19.5 additional minutes. All together, you’ve got 2 hours 55 minutes and 30 seconds of ads. That’s gotta be breaking some sort of world record!

Nostalgia is bad. I randomly found out in pinterest that there was a new plant added to the game that I haven’t seen before. It makes sense as I haven’t played since I was still a teenager, but I wanted to come back to this game to have some fun. What a disappointment… First of all, 7 dollars for a plant. Seven dollars. Everything is monetised, I’m surprised there is no battle pass yet. Of course developers need money, it is a free game after all. But your favorite plants cost each one 7 dollars ? If you buy three of them you already payed more than 20. Can you imagine ? What about gameplay wise ? You can UPGRADE your plants. Which sounds cool until you discover it is also a way to make you get your wallet a bit less full. The different timelines are blocked and no longer avaible to enter with a key. Which was so enjoyable, getting to choose which timeline you wanna choose to visit first after ancient egypt. I would like to comment on the new contents as it looks like there is a bunch of new plants and zombies but unfortunately, the MACROtransactions ruined the fun for me. I give the game two stars because ghost pepper is adorable and i love him.

Keeps crashing. Love this game and everything was working fine until I updated the app… now it keeps crashing. Keep getting an error message saying “Unexpected content from server (got JSON)” while the game is attempting to download the latest update. Really sucks…

Special Event. I think you guys should have a special event where you can buy premium plants for gems, like a 12 days of Christmas special.

Definitely owned by EA. Loved the first game but despise the sequel here. Original was creative and fun but the second capitalizes on all the ways it can make money with bloated side stuff...quite a disgrace actually

Holy Cow, the Ads!!. Started playing again, and even made a few purchases to support the game. Now after two days, the ads that appear after every fight is sooo annoying!!! Even if you have purchased something. And some ads can’t be muted. Thanks, EA Executive team and bean counters, for ruining another gaming experience.

Unplayable and Unenjoyable.. I like the PVZ games but the latest patch makes it unplayable and forces me to delete my game and reinstall it to play because every time I try to install the patch it changes to a black screen and doesn’t change back. Plus not to mention the absurd amount of play to win. It feels like every time I look away one the plants that should be free is instead $6.99. So, I’m gonna keep my review at 2 stars until EA fixes this glitch, until then imma stick to garden warfare and PVZ1.

Stop being so mean. This game is incredible. The only ads I get are from watching ads to get things, and I barely get any in general. The game is still playable people, and you can beat it without paying. The creators put a lot of effort in this game so they deserve some respect.

Bring the Game Back.. I’m not saying PVZ is an overly terrible game or anything, but bring back the non pay to win game. The PvZ creator was fired because he wanted it to be not pay to win. When EA came into the picture, it was pay to win;6.99 for a majority of the plants. EA needs to stop.

Decent, but too much has changed.. I LOVED this game as a kid, although not as much as the 1st game. When I went to redownload this, the first thing I realized is that the World Keychain for clearing Ancient Egypt 6 is completely gone. And I SUCKED at this game.

Pay to win : don’t bother.. Waste of time unless you pay them.

It went from a decent game to garbage. I was pretty good at the game and even had all of the plants in the game. But, when I logged onto the game one day all my stuff was deleted and the game took me back to the beginning, and I also lost my plants too! And, since popcap cares about money other than anything else I will never get my stuff back.

Too Many Ads. Minute long ads that sometimes won't close after every level. It's awful. Never played a game with this much advertising. Played for a week but I can't deal with them any longer.

Money Grubbers. Just charge $5 (or $10 or $20!) for the game, and get rid of all the “pay to win” gameplay, please. It’s infuriating. Boo to EA. :(

People actually pay for this stuff?. It’s laughable how hungry for money PopCap is. I can’t believe it. They fired the guy who created PvZ years ago because he didn’t want it to be pay to win. I understand that games and game companies need to make money but $6.99 each for a large majority of the plants? Most of which were free plants in the original. *If anyone ever reads this review, don’t bother with this game (unless you don’t have any monetary responsibilities).

Ads - Keeps Going to App Store. Wish I could give 0 stars. Multiple times I’ve pressed the X to exit an ad, and it opens the App Store. I switch back to the game, wait for the ad to finish and tap the X again. And it goes to the App Store again…

Why I did 1 star. After beating zomboss I had to update the game to go to pirate seas only to get the black screen issue and there is no video of to fix it on apple iPod so plz apple send this to EA or at least help me fix it by sending instructions

Is there anything EA can't ruin?. So you take one of the greatest games of all time and add EA to it. Here's what you get: -ads that are so intrusive it breaks the game -a pay to win structure so vulgar that skill and experience to longer mean anything -a constant stream of "new" plants/content designed only to separate you from your money -gambling mechanics to encourage children to (wait for it) GAMBLE. Where’s the music?. I enjoy playing plants vs zombies but I have no music anymore. At 1 point in time I did, but now there is nothing. My phone and pause menu music volumes are maxed and still nothing? This game would be great if it still had music.

Overall good game. The main problems I have is with the conceal mint and seedium plants as the conceal mint I have waited a whole year to be on sale but never has and also you keep on adding new seedium plants making it harder and harder to get the old and better one

Weird bug. I’m not sure if EA reads this but please I’m asking one thing that is stupid. I have a IPod touch 7th gen and whenever I beat ancient Egypt or any world or even loading my cloud it shows the ea logo and then it’s a black screen with just music behind. Plants vs Zombies are the best. I am a huge fan, I have two of three of their apps and their comic app. Plants vs Zombies is one of my favorite franchises, right after My Singing Monsters. Plants Vs Zombies 2 is possibly 2nd favorite app, because of it’s great characters and multiple games. It also contains new types of modes such as Penny’s pursuit and Arena. And lastly, there is an almanac where you learn of plants and zombies of all types. My favorite plant is Cabbage-Pult. I love this game so much that I write fan fiction about it. My only request is that a new plant is to be added. I had some ideas and I think a plant for 300 suns called Octopumpkin. It is a cannon plant and has 8 arms. It throws pumpkins a zombies that slows them down and does a lot of damage. It would be really cool if the game adds this plant, but either way, this game is great. If you read this, I hope you get the game. And that is the end of my review, 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Some Plants Need To Be Nerfed. This is a awesome game and I respect it, but some of the plants are way too overpowered. I won't try to be a critic but this is just my opinion so you can like these ideas or hate them you can say it since I don't care .I'll Give some examples, the Parsnip. Parsnip 3 shots zombies even at level 5 it instant kills zombies. A way to nerf him is to, 1, Decrease his Damage or 2, make him cost more. The primal Sunflower. Primal Sunflower is too fast and sun production and can make you produce sun like never before. A way to nerf this is to make it cost a little more ( about 100 sun than 75 sun). Lastly GOLD BLOOM! First, it's way to much value for 0 sun, I know it is a premium plant, but that has no excuse to be that powerful. A way to nerf this guy is to lower its sun burst I MEAN IF YOU IMATATE THE GOLD BLOOM IT WILL BURST OUT 750 SUN WHICH IS NOT COOL. That is all the plants that can maybe be nerfed slightly It is just my opinion so you can say something else if you like.

A very good game, but has some major problems. Alright. This game is amazing, and its definetely on my top 5 favorite games of all time. But, this game way overuses microtransactions. Look. I get having you be able to pay for reasorces, but if you want every plant in the game, you have to spend over 100 dollars. $100! Also, remember when goldbloom was an epic quest plant? I don't because it became a paid plant. Yes you have to pay for that plant. Thats not all there are 15 other paid plants. I know that all of the plants are way too overpowered, but they don't have to be exclusive to money! Also this game is not out for steam, so it has the mobile game problems. For example: ads after every level As mentioned microtransactions Also I don't know if its for everybody, but after every ad, my game softlocks making it boarderline unplayable. That being said though, this game is still a great game, its just that I think it could have been better. And it still can! PobCap. If you are somehow seeing this, just make a paid version on steam with no ads and another way to get the paid plants. You don't even have to remove the price tag! Just make epic quests for all the paid plants or an arena event. Or ANYTHING. Pretty much any other solution would be better. But with the being said if you don't mind ads, and you like a challenge, then this game is amazing. Its just I feel like with a few changes, this could be even better.

Good game, but many problems. This is four stars ⭐️ because I simply ADORE the game, but there are many other things that can be changed and questions to be answered. 1. What does mastery do? I’ve never gotten to it and therefore, don’t know what it does. Is it worth it? That also ties along with my next “paragraph” I guess 2. Levels are WAY too hard level 3 for shadow plants takes like 3 months to get to level 4! It’s kinda absurd maybe make it a little easier 3. I purchased plants and they NEVER went through they were “pending” for three months then stopped and nothing happened 4. Tile turnip is special and since you went through the whole far future to get it and not even use it until 1 year later where you have enough seed packets to actually afford it in game it’s kinda not worth it. I was so excited to get tile turnip, but I ended up not liking it al all. 5. There are WAAAAAAY to many seed packet and premium plants why not include them in a new world? Everyone’s been asking. 6. I would like to have events that give you seed packets, don’t forget the older ones and if you missed the event you have to wait maybe 5 months to a year before the event happens again to get seed packets. 7. Lastly, don’t tell me to go to a complicated website because I really don’t want to deal with that EVER again, thank you!

Arena is UNFAIR!!!. You know the arena idea was cool and all but the PEOPLES PLANTS are ridiculous! I have stronger plants than my enemy and he still manages to beat me! Literally, this game mode is unfair because of the in-app purchases people have to buy the old plants that is basically pay to win. The developers really need to nerf the plants man! Cause this game use to be fun until this game mode came in. Plus, I think the players are actually the CPU which is brutal because sometimes the game cheats it’s way up to the leader boards. Also my final complaint is THE POINTS MANAGEMENT! It’s very unfair that you have to struggle because of how many points you get when you have stronger plants but the weakest plants get the higher points! For example let’s take spike weed, right now is the cactus tournament and people use spike weed and they still beat me plus they have a lower level than my spike weed and still manage to beat me! Maybe PopCap you should really fix the arena mode because it’s unfair to everyone who plays it.

They deleted my negative review - you have to pay to play. Long story short, they use sneaky ways to force you to pay. Otherwise you’ll never level up. Goes from fun to tedious. And there is no way the people I’m playing against just happen to kill me consistently on levels 6 to 8 on the tournament with such low level plants. I’ve since read they’ve been using inside game bots not other players so I’m not actually competing against anyone. Just a game trying to scam me out of real $. This seems legit since it is physically impossible to earn that many points in the short amount of time - even if the person won every single round and played for 10 hours straight. Unless you shell out serious cash or you are a bot, you get stuck in tournament limbo because you can’t move to the following week’s level unless you are in the top 3 spots and if you stop playing you drop down to the previous levels until you are rock bottom. I’m ashamed to say I’ve spent $ on this game rationalizing having fun. I’ve also been charged for something that had been marked free so look out for those misleading bugs. Now it is just boring and tedious. Also, it’s been a few years. Where are the new worlds already?

Plants vs Zombies 2. I’ve been playing this game since it came out and I have always enjoyed it. Until now I would have given it 5 stars. The problem started when they began the battles. I like the battles but it’s so hard to play without spending real money. I would go back and replay worlds because I enjoyed them as well as being able to collect coins and gems. You can still get coins in these levels but no gems. They give you options to earn gems but very few are rewarded. This becomes a problem because you can’t really keep up with battles when you don’t have enough gems. They offer 2 free plays and you can watch 2 ads for 2 more. Most of the time you get a message stating that there are no ads available. Three days went by without being able to get free gems or gauntlets to be able to battle. I enjoy the battles but I am not able to spend the money therefore I can’t advance in the battle levels. This was a favorite game of mine but now I’m really disappointed.

This game used to actually be good :(. Why popcap. Why did you do this? What went through your head? “Guys, it’s ea the pay to win company. Let’s give our company to them” like what? And that is not the worst part either! At first it was get to level 5 to get to other worlds. But now it is complete an entire world to go to the next. What i used to do was get the first plant from all the levels INCLUDING HOT POTATO!!! And then would complete the first world. But nooooooo, it can’t be easy anymore. We want to give a challenge to the player. And it is WAY to pay to win now. I am pretty sure in the first game all you could buy was coins. And even then it was somewhat hidden almost. This game shoves ads in your face and asks for 6.00$ PER PLANT a couple being from the first game. And these plants are not tucked away in a corner barley noticeable. This on is in a shop for free gifts than you see the wall of buyable stuff. This is mostly targeting kids too! Kids do not know the concept of money and how important it can be. All the know is “use money to get stuff” that’s it. So kids can just, click and spend. Isn’t that just fun?!? :)

Lost all my progress and miss some of the mini games. This is pretty sad since I love this game, because there are some problems. The premium is okay since I had all except the hurikale (cuz I didn’t want it) but it got boring and so I tried to find a button or something to reset some of the worlds I like because it just doesn’t feel the same if I just replay them. I want actual rewards from levels. This was the first problem. The second. Problem is that I thought of deleting it and getting it back because I thought I could restore the purchases. But guess what, THE FREAKING RESTORE PURCHASES BUTTON WOULDN’T WORK! Not only that but I had to restart all my premium packets which I can’t get because they costed MONEY this made me furious and I lost all my seed packets for the dandelion which is one of my favorite plants in the game and hasn’t been out for YEARS! And I don’t even have penny’s pursuit yet. And I don’t wanna hear “oh I’m so sorry you didn’t have a good gaming experience blah blah blah” I want ,my stuff back and my seed packets back! Also some games like the mummy memory which I really liked are gone

A Fun But Money Hungry Game. As I played the first PvZ, it was glorious and amazing. The plants had spirit and the gameplay was addicting. As soon as I completed it, I wanted to try out the second one. It was as good as its successor but however there was a huge problem. As EA always is, they make almost all of their games full of microtransactions. The game always has options to buy simple things. And you can use them to win more levels as you progress in the game. But the thing is not a lot of people can afford these advantages. That’s where the problem comes in. As soon as you start progressing levels the game starts getting pretty hard. Then you would have no other choice but to either use money to make the level easier and win or just not buy anything and get stuck in the same level while you fail again and again. This game is a huge punch in the gut to f2p players and that’s what I hate about PvZ 2. So if you could lower the difficulty of the harder levels to the point where you can beat them without paying, it would help out a lot. Cmon EA, you gotta change.

Update it for IPhone XR please. Newest updates to this review: Please add an ability to make the corn lobbed plant to pop and do popcorn kernels if you powerup the firepea behind it on the same lane, or if you jalapeño the lane, etc. ——————————— Please change it so that when you power up plants it makes the phone vibrate with the new iPhone effect. Sugar crush and other apps already have this awesome effect while makes you want to play more. I could imagine the effect on powering up sunflowers or powering up in all. But don’t make it too annoying like every time a plant fires Also, please make endless rounds like the pyramid of doom kind of thing that’s on every map have special rounds once in a while please. A bonus special round where you gain free powerups and other stuff for winning, but if you lose, no harm done, onto the next wave. These rounds could be vase breakers, bowler plant bowling, earn enough sun round, a new kind of game mode, something with lava, etc. The endless modes get too hard too quickly. At wave 11 it’s near impossible without loosing a mower, already. With these bonus rounds being added , it should also get harder in further on levels instead of so soon. Also, each wave should be different. It should be a treadmill round or place your plants first with sun, then go, or other game modes randomly, too, to make it more fun, instead of the same game mode over and over around. Also please add a volcano world.

Very well done. I really enjoyed PvZ1 so wasn’t sure that a sequel would capture the same magic, especially as a free-to-play version. But I’m pleased to say that the essence of what made PvZ great is reflected here and even expanded upon. The game is deep with lots of plants to unlock and a variety of modes to play. I completed the campaign content without spending a dime, and then made a few purchases after that both to pay the devs for their good work, and also because some of the buy only plants were intriguing. But it’s worth noting I didn’t feel there was a paywall in this game which kept me playing; otherwise I would have quit as soon as hitting it. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that there seems to be no more campaign content coming out anymore, so having played everything on offer it’s starting to wane in interest. And the in-game ads are totally annoying. That part of their approach is a total fail.

Great game until.... This game was my childhood, it’s great and all. But until EA came to do the absolute worst to the game, Now there’s premium plants that you have to buy with real money. I didn’t really care but seeing all the cool plants now stored away from me with real money I have to pay. It became less fun, don't get me wrong, This game is really good. I know, EA did some good things to the game, But ruined the fans that had the plants that were once not premium, now they lost it and have to pay. I still enjoy this game and I don’t have much problem with the gameplay itself, but I really hate the fact that there’s premium now. Ok, now something else I want to mention is the fact that you get all the keys instantly after level 8, before EA came to ruin this game. I had to unlock worlds, and I enjoyed the game. Now you get all the worlds instantly after level 8. Don’t hate me but I don’t really care, but after reading some of the reviews, I decided to bring it up.

I love this game but there are some issues... I love the this game don’t get me wrong, but I noticed some things that could be fixed to improve it. To begin with I noticed the game is just slow. For example when you go to check on your zen garden, it takes a while for it to load. This also happens in other transitions. I could be wrong, this may not be the game it self I may just have bad internet. Next I think adding more worlds would make the game so much better! I have had this game for a few years on different devices, but I decided to delete all my old accounts and start new so I wouldn’t have to wait for a new world to come out. That’s just my opinion, there are so many options of what themed world there could be! So just a update that gives a new world would be amazing! To end on a positive side one thing that I think is wonderful about the game is how some levels give you objectives. It can teach (young children) to problem solve. So for example: one level in the Ancient Egypt world gives you a certain amount of sun to use, and you have to place all the plants before the level starts. So getting to the point, if the first way doesn’t work you can adjust your plan to complete the level. Overall I think this game is amazing! The game is great for all ages and is a great source of entertainment! With just a few tweaks this game can be even better than it is to begin with! I hope this helps :)

Really fun til the micro transactions. The game was super fun and I loved playing it when it first came out. All the new zombies and the new plants and fresh ideas were amazing. I started playing around the wild west era so it was still pretty new. Then more stuff came out as the game started to have a steady flow of updates that added a whole bunch of new and fun stuff. But with these updates came micro transactions and plants you have to pay an absurd amount of real money to actually get with the smallest advantage. And the people who say this game is amazing were probably before the micro transaction era. The game was fun while it lasted, but now almost everything is hidden behind a paywall. The game would be a lot better if you took out the plant upgrading system, and made some of the plants grind to win instead of pay to win. The plant upgrading system is just so dumb because it adds next to no advantage on the battlefield and it is just another big cash grab. The grind to win would work because some people would get lazy and look at the paying options instead of the grinding options.

Good, but it’s a little boring after a while. Popcap, don’t get me wrong, you did a beautiful job. The story is great and graphics are good, but I would like to address the elephant in the room: better modes. I think, instead of doing your games so regimented, make a 3D area that you can place plants and buildings and have them fight zombies so it would be more visually interesting and interspersed, like fighting a war. I think that It would be better to take it like clash of clans in this game. In the game mode I think you should have, there would be more room you can unlock as you win against zombies. Maybe you could even make it AR (but please, for all that have iPods, make it an optional mode).And, of course, make a new storyline and zombies and plants especially for this mode. That being said, you guys work SO hard, and we as the consumers see that! Thanks for all you do to make this game an enjoyable game for all of us! I hope you take my advice, but you all are so skilled at making this gaming magic happen. Again, thank you for all you do.

The changes were disappointing back then, and they still are today.. Returning to this game, remembering many poor changes, it still is sad today... know that back then, this game was better, it had challenging levels, great soundtrack, fairly balanced plants. However, it uh... got worse the levels have artificial difficulty, they cut the mini game soundtracks which before made sense for space, but because there are newer phones with more space so it’s a good time for them to return, the balance is gone, as some plants are overpowered, and many are made redundant because some plants are better versions than the originals, there are still some good levels but it’s masked by poorly designed ones, that’ll you’ll spend most your time on, the survival levels are decent although the difficulty curves too high, it’s disappointing that they don’t improve on many things when they could, all they are doing now, is making new plants you could get from intense, heavy grind, or spending ridiculous amounts of cash... as of right now there’s a plant you can get early for 20 big ones, it’s that bad.

Amazing BUT one issue. PvZ 2 is easily my favorite mobile game ever, it’s so fun, it makes you think, it doesn’t require WiFi to play the levels on the maps, so many plants, however, after deleting my account to start a new one, and making a new account, I enter the app, and after completing the first level or so, I pressed the shop button since I had 100 gems from giving my email, however, when entering the shop, a window that says restoring purchases always pops up, and loads for a long time, I cannot prevent the window from popping up, and after awhile of saying “restoring purchases”, the app crashes. I’ve tried everything I can to fix it, and I don’t think this is a issue that has occurred for anyone else, hopefully somehow it gets fixed or a developer reaches out to me, but assuming that nobody else has this issue which prevents them from entering shop without the app crashing, it is an amazing game, I highly recommend it.

On par with de original in the worst way possible. Now I'm not saying that plants vs zombies 2 it's about time is a bad game, far from it. It's a fantastic game, but I do think that it's flaws are way worse than the first game. PvZ 2 expand upon the original with more plants, more zombies, and a ton of really unique worlds. I really like the Adventure mode, however Big wave Beach and Jurassic marsh, I feel are way too hard, but otherwise the Adventure mode is great! But the replay value from Battle arena and penny's pursuit in my opinion are the best parts of the game. And of course there's the big massive flaw of the micro transactions, but I would argue that the game is still amazing without spending a cent. Is plants vs zombies 2 it's about time have a lot of flaws? Yes. Would I call PvZ 2 a disappointing sequel? In my opinion No. plants vs zombies 2 it's about time in my opinion is just as good as the original. It has a lot of flaws and I mean a LOT OF FLAWS. I still think the game is just as good as PvZ 1.

Great Game; Could Use Less Micro-Transactions. Plants vs Zombies 2 is a great game. It maintains the classic PvZ feel from the original game while adding lots of new content: locations, plants, zombies, and a ton of new levels. The game also has “Battlez,” which puts two players head to head in separate arenas. In addition to its solid base content, PvZ 2 has consistent updates that bring new events and plants to the game. The only reason it’s not a 5 Star rating for me is the micro-transactions. To be fair, in-app purchases are very common in mobile games, especially free ones. I would just prefer to see some content, specifically premium plants, become obtainable in different ways other than direct purchase. I can understand some micro-transactions, but I always prefer rewards for playing, not paying. The final thing I would like to see is some of the old mini-games and modes from PvZ 1. In short, PvZ 2 is a great game with just a few too many micro transactions (in my opinion). I would still recommend it to anyone who wants an epic, zombie-fighting adventure.

BEST GAME EVER but can you add a few more things. Pvz 2 is an awesome game as it has many worlds and mini games too. I have suggestions that could make it even better. 1. Make more plants buyable. Like when a player bought a plant with 100 gems you could replace that plant. So if the player purchased all the plants they could still buy more. 2. Add a “MAKE YOUR OWN LEVEL” option were players could pick any background any zombies and any number of waves and put that all together in a level. 3. Add a “MAKE YOUR OWN ZOMBIE” option in which players could snap a photo of their own zombie then choose its health and moving animations and when they would be done their zombie would automatically launch into the game. And finally you could add a “Make your own world” option in which players could make their own world a limited number of times. Thank you for reading my review.

Very good but too monetized. Been playing this game on and off since it came out and overall I’m a huge fan. My main complaint is that the game seems to stifle rewards and leans too heavily towards spending real money rather than the several different in-game currencies they’ve introduced. First of all, with regards to the piñata party mini games, I have been consistently choosing the same three rewards in the bottom left row and I’ve never gotten the large pile of coins in YEARS of playing, so I’m convinced this is just a gimmick and they’re not willing to give you that reward. Secondly, many plants can be bought with gems but there’s too many that are strictly behind a paywall. For many of these plants I have enough seed packets to upgrade them several times but it doesn’t matter unless I play $5 for each plant. This strikes me as unfair since many other locked plants can be unlocked by collecting enough seed packets. Thirdly, why cap the amount of seed piñatas a player can get from replaying levels at 3? It just stifles replayability. These are my main complaints, but overall good game.

Not worth it unless you’re willing to spend $20+. I beat the first PVZ in no more than 3 days. I’ve always loved it and redownloaded it to play again. When I beat it I decided to get the sequel. I feel like this game had sooooo much potential but it was ruined by the UNFAIR AND OVERLY DIFFICULT progression process. In the first game it was simple to find a way to beat the level. I only ever lost ONE level and had to redo it. With this game I’ve lost multiple times and every “premium plant” is 4.99 a piece!!!!! I don’t think it’s fair. It seems like the creators got greedy and tried to rob us players which is very disappointing. Another thing is you have to upgrade plants now and the system to get seed packets (basically loot crates) is random and you often get packets for plants you don’t have so it’s difficult to move forward. I beat the first boss but can’t go any further than that becasue my plants aren’t upgraded enough and I’ve already used up my slots for piñatas which only refreshes every 5 hours or more??? 🙃 idk it’s just really disappointing and I can’t enjoy the game like I used to. Not worth it unless you can spend $20 on an app.

Good Game but too greedy. Ok so I’ve played for over a long long time and before half the plants were premium it didn’t have to make you buy literally half the plants but it just doesn’t make sense like dude why make a game if your gonna make it a $20 dollar game but then add $50 and make it $70 all because of the premium plants like at least make it 5 dollars for all premium plants and 15 dollars for all plants and I know 15 dollars for all plants sounds too ridiculous BUT listen if you have enough money for all plants then you can but all plants for 15 bucks but I know it’s not fair but what if people who are new to the game and want to get every plant with 100 seed packets to come with it like why spend countless hours trying to get every non premium plant when you can but all the plants for just 15 bucks but if you don’t wanna pay that much for all plants then Make it a 20% off and make it 10 bucks instead so you can get all plants but anyway the game is just WAY to greedy and you way I mean like 299% percent greedy and 1% trying to lower the price but yeah it’s a great game but WAY WAY TO GREEDY please if you think it’s unfair then just keep the 5 dollars for half of premium plants

The commercials are Useless!. I mean I get it, you need money so you use the people that make the commercials, but honestly you charge a crap ton of money for a couple gems almost $100 for probably five plants! Why do commercials when there are nerds out there sitting in their basement playing 24 seven literally! It was way over the top. Some of it I liked, but this would’ve been a good plants versus zombies, three or even a plants versus zombies four. every level is something different, I don’t necessarily mean that in a good way though! Every level is some extra thing that is near TO two impossible! especially the night one. While the original was just fight, zombies, choose your plants, with occasional conveyor belt. Overall, though it’s not terrible! Also, if you just turn on airplane mode, the commercials can’t get to you! but seriously doing that petty stuff like making the eggs TV so you go into the App Store is it gonna make people buy the commercials!

Good but greedy.. Hello, there. I’ve been playing PvZ 2 for almost 4 years now, and I have to say, I think you did a pretty good job. The game would be 5 stars though, but sadly it’s hindered by EA’s greed. I get that you have to pay for some plants, but seriously!?! The chomper, torchwood, and snow pea? Those are some of the classics. I do have an issue with how the Arena-unlocked plants work as well. There shouldn’t be limited-time ways to unlock them, there should be no time limit at all! I am honestly pretty upset that I didn’t get the dartichoke, because that thing is epic! But sadly, I’m pretty sure I’ll never unlock it now. I do like a lot of the new plants that you’ve added, but, seriously, why does the spring bean exist? Worst plant ever confirmed! I do appreciate making some of the previously had to be bought plants, like the starfruit and bombegranite, unlockable with seed packets. I think that’s a really positive change and you should do it with more plants. I think that’s all I had to say, hopefully you listen, this game is cool, and have a good day!

Unrealistic expectations. I’ve been a long time fan of this game series and I love it. But there are a lot of flaws to this version. First off, I think it’s ridiculous and stupid that you have to pay for plants that used to be a staple in the original game. And second of all, and most importantly, the special “rules” that some levels force you to play by are unfair and nigh impossible. Even with boosts, the ones that have the special rule of not letting the zombies trample the flowers is ludicrous. You can’t possibly expect people to want to play if every other level, they have to spend hours of stressful gameplay trying to clear a level that is barely possible. Not to mention the fact that the actual idea of these “special rules” is a joke. You give little to no thought to rather or not the levels are even within a reasonable level of difficulty and it shows. This is a shameful attempt to make an already great game better and it need a lot of work. For me personally, the flaws outweigh the good parts and you should revamp the way the levels are played so they are not so infuriatingly difficult.

A promising game turned pay2play. The first PvZ was phenomenal, no one doubts that, and as such everyone had high hopes for the sequel. It obviously isn’t fair to expect the same greatness as the first, a mixture of nostalgia and old-school comparisons give it an unfair edge, but this game still is subpar. Don’t get me wrong, the basic premise is the same: plant flowers, gain sun, kill zombies, but there is one gigantic flaw that ruins the game - the shameless cash-grab. Some of the most iconic plants from the first game are locked behind a paywall (notable torch wood and snow pea), among others that obviously had more effort put in than some. This wouldn’t be so bad if it was a small fee for everything, kind of like buying the full game, but EACH plant costs $5, an outrageous sum that totals to more than the cost of the original game. That’s not all, as they imputes a new mechanic to “upgrade” your plants, making them stronger, come back quicker, and just be more powerful. The problem with this arrises when the only way to get past some stages is to get upgraded plants, and you do this through the infamous loot box, bane of free-to-play games, and makes this game a heap of steaming, greedy trash.

Game cheats period!. Played this game for many years v1 & v2 have beaten it many times, but the lags in zombie death, rate of plant renewal, and not to mention the freeze, electrocute, or swish buttons when used nothing happens!! Even used twice in a row and still no freeze, electrocute, or swish! It cheats on many different aspects of the game. Wasn’t like that on the previous versions my guess is they bug it so you have to spend real money. NO WAY!! It’s obvious with the 400 new plants they have and some only for purchase?!? Not to mention the levels 1-10 of plant power? (It’s kinda fun but when you want to get right to a zombie battle these weak plants are annoying. YOU HAVE LESS CONTROL OVER THE GAME And since when did zombies get DINOSAURS?!? How does this even fit? We have no option to have anything other than plants! Bottom line I like the game have beaten previous versions multiple times but it’s not fun when u know a game is blatantly cheating! .....for money. The upgrades are fun and entertaining but the cheating ruins it for me. Only 3 stars 😒👎🏾

Would give a 5 star but.... So over the years I've gotten this game off and on if I felt like playing but recently I got really into it.i love this game I played the first one for years and the new story,plants,challenges, event the graphics and sounds are amazing couldn't complain about any of it. But here's my main issue a couple of days ago I re downloaded this game and after a little while it gave me a notification saying a patch was ready to download for graphic resolution or something ab the game and I downloaded it without a second thought then my game crashed,and crashed again and again till I gave up trying to open the app and just re downloaded it again but it happened again and again so I tried useing my other phone to play and it happened again.i found out if you click the log before you hit play and jsut hit next level you can still play the story and it not crash but if you could please fix this it would be great and I'll definitely come back with 5 stars😭😭

YOU GUYS HAVE RUINED A GOOD GAME WITH YOUR GREED. As of July 5th, 2018 You guys have had a number of “bugs” and “glitches” in this game that prevents players from getting free gauntlets or free gems anymore by watching ads. That is totally unfair but more disturbing than that, I suspect purposely done. I have been playing this game for long enough to know when something is a legitimate glitch, and when something is being done on purpose. Like the Bee in the nursery NO LONGER WORKING. That’s a purposeful act so that you can get people to spend money on gems. Now it seems that even the commercials are no longer a way for people to collect jams as well because you want people to spend money to buy the upgrades to play the game. I don’t mind buying gems once in a while, but don’t be sneaky and purposely mess it up so that nobody can get free stuff anymore. That is low and dirty. Why ruin a good game by being GREEDY? As a matter fact I was suggested nobody download this game anymore until you fix those bugs.

LUV but Battle Upgrades Glitches Galore. I love this game and have been playing it for years. However, the recent competitive Battle mode upgrade has been causing too many glitches. It’s fun to play, but with the addition of something called Filamints, I frequently don’t get bonus gems for Free Plays which also effects getting 10 gems for completing all the day’s events. (You use gems to buy gauntlets that help you to play without paying money all the time.) I buy upgrade stuff now and then when I can afford it. I am getting sick and tired of how so many games can’t be played without paying lots of money - 3-5 losses and your done for hours or spending money. With Battle mode I can’t compete if I can’t afford to buy anymore stuff to play or I am a super star gamer. I’ve never felt this way about PvZ2 until the addition of the Battle mode. I’m downgrading my earlier review to 4 stars until this is fixed and until they do something about the pay for play issue they have created with recent upgrades.

Disappointing. I think when reviewing this game you have to take into account what made plants vs zombies so good in the first place. It was a game anyone could play and it allowed you to create your own strategies while giving you new ways to make new strategies. There was definitely room for improvement from the first game so when PvZ 2 came out I was looking forward to what it was going to do. I was expecting new plants and new zombies to fight, I was expecting similar gameplay with a new intriguing world and story. However PvZ 2 completely changes what made the first game so playable. They implemented changes like plant food which turns the game into a frantic mess. It puts certain plants behind a paywall. At first I liked the idea of leveling up your plants but with so many I found myself sticking to some strategies without trying anything different because of how good some of my plants were. Over saturation with plants makes each plant less memorable and worse. It doesn’t feel like PvZ it feels like a fan game that was bought by EA. I just wish this classic game could have had a better sequel.

Pretty good but a few things must be added!. I love this game! You can do so much with it. I love the variety of zombies and plants and I just love to hear Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss talking! Once at the very end of a wave, I trapped in zombie in between two wall-nuts and I drew tons of things out of plants and he is still alive to this very day! It is so funny to trap the last zombie and never ever kill him! 🤣🤣🤣 I kinda feel bad for him at the same time though spending his entire life eating a plant that keeps getting replanted as soon as it dies. I like the zombies. That reminds me... You should add a function to where you can be the zombies. Also add multiplayer so one person is on plants and one is on zombies. Make it so that there is zombie levels just like there is plant levels. I love the zombies. Make a level where you are Dr. Zomboss too! Also make it so you can level up zombies. I think it would be so much more fun if you add a function where you can be a zombie. I almost wish zombies were real. But that would probably be bad soI wouldn't really want them to be real. So please add this!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I'm begging you!!! I'm almost ready to quit.

My favorite game. I’m a busy person thanks to my being an executive leader at a 2,500+ employee state agency and an elected official at a 8,000+ employee school district. But I always find the time to play Plants vs Zombies 2. I think it is partly because as a former military man and war veteran I love the strategy and combat involved. Also as the father of a nine-year-old, he and I like to play plants versus zombies and compare results. I do have a couple of suggestions if you will indulge me? I would love it if plants versus zombies hosted an event where likeminded players could gather and share our love for the game. Second, It would be neat if you hosted competitions where every participant received the same plants and green leaves, and we all faced the same large number of zombies, and participants could battle and then see how we ranked. Fourth, is there a store where I can buy swag? Lastly, I would love to see a brand new world with levels created that involved new plants and zombies and took things to a higher level. Thank you!

Nostalgic. I love plants be zombies. I go back to childhood with this game and it’s franchise. Best parts are the music and sounds which is why I gave it a 4 star for now. Don’t know why but the sound and music tend to cut off for no reason and do not return till either the day/level is one or lost. If this is indeed an error in the games part, hopefully it is fixed soon as the sounds and music are really well made and I’d love to enjoy it fully. If this is somehow an error in my side and not the game then I will still enjoy the game to the best it can run and will nonetheless fix the rating for my review. The series is great and although some plants are locked till purchases they are not needed to progress and beat the main game in my opinion. Which makes me glad to see that they can be bought to smooth certain stages and just have more fun along with the variety. In the end quick thinking and well thought out strategies are the true key to this game and I’d like to believe that’s how it’s always been.

This Is So Frustrating!. The game sometimes says daily quests 0/0 completed which always confuses me because I want those 10 gems! Every second there is and ad, it’s pay to win, you get one plant for $5! and other stuff which makes me mad! Once I unlocked Spear-Mint, I sped through all the Neon Mixtape Tour Levels, then the arcade zombies come and squash all your plants! Day 26 is extremely unbalanced comparing it to level earlier and don’t get me started on the chickens in the Wild West! They are so fast so annoying! Even though they are weak they still always use up my lawnmowers! For beating level 24 in the Wild West with the endangered wall-nut plants, you get such a expensive plant which is just Snow Peashooter and Melon-Pult Combined! But guess what, it’s not pay to win because you need to spend your $5 to get Snow-Peashooter when for me it says 30/10 which makes no sense at all! Winter-Melon is useless and I’ve never used him to complete a level! Overall the game is a classic but still, just make it not pay to win! I’m so into this game and I want to finish the adventure and get that taco, but I can’t because it’s to hard!

Great game, needs some new features. I love Plants vs. Zombies, it’s a fantastic game! I love the fact that you get your plants and go through different time eras and kill zombies. I also love that you can compete with other players to get more points. But I think they need to add more, first off they really need to bring back versus mode where one player was the plants and the other were zombies. Except this time you could choose the time era. Then you could play with your friends, BUT you could also choose to find a opponent online and this time you wouldn’t choose which side you were instead you would be randomly chosen as a plant or zombie. You would be able to choose your plants and zombies but it would have to correlate with the time era, (the modern era could be like the hard mode where you could choose any zombie.) Also it would be more expensive to use abilities like flick and electricity, maybe like 1000 more to make it fair for zombies. Also this would be great if you could make abilities for zombies. Maybe like spawn graves without grave spawners or spawn potions idk. That’s all I have to say for that but here is a second thing, you need to add like an account system for if you transferred phones or tablets, so you don’t have to start over. And you would have your in-game purchases. I will give 5 stars if this game adds these features but until then it’s still a great game and you should download it.

I am addicted to the best game ever. I started playing this game 10 years ago....started with the part 1. I must say it's an interesting and captivating game. I work as a medical doctor but I intentionally still make out time to play this game everyday. I can say that I'm quite experienced in the game. I've finished all the worlds and currently just replay the tournaments and the Piñata and Penny Pursuit. My family and friends all know that this game has become a part of my life and they keep asking why I haven't been made the game brand ambassador yet 😄. I love this game because it also enhances my cognition and strategic planning 😄. Nevertheless, recently the game just crashes and shuts down in the middle of the play and it's so frustrating. I have lost so many plays and gauntlets because of this and it is quite annoying. I have deleted and re-installed the game several times but the problem still persists. I don't know the reason behind this and I wish I can get help.

Honest opinion. When I hear write a review, I want to give the most honest opinion to the people reading this. So yeah, in my opinion plants vs zombies two is a great game. I love the plants that have been Added on. My favorite one that I have saved up 100 crystals for is the hypnoshroom. Ever since I have got it, I have a huge advantage over the zombies. The graphics have gotten really good and I adore the player vs player thing. It would be nice if you could see your enemies plants so you could choose the most accurate and necessary plans you have. Otherwise it’s a great game. That would be cool if you added a Christmas world where all the zombies dressed up in holiday suits and the boss would be in a Santa costume. You could even have electronic reindeer that do the same thing that the electronic bulls do in Wild West world. Just a suggestion. You don’t have to do it since Christmas is right around the corner. But the world could only be like 12 or 13 levels long. Just sayin...

The New Arena Weekly Challenge Is Impossible!. I’ve been playing arena mode ever since I started playing this game. But recently, a new weekly challenge involving the Mega Gatling Pea was released and it is IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN. You’ll be lucky to even win two rounds and then lose your streak because the challenge is BRUTAL. No strategy you could try will work unless your plants are at max level. The zombie take too long to kill, they eat through your plants WAY fast and the level spams them endlessly throughout. The Dinosaurs make this even worse because they kick the zombies closer to the level and by the time they show up, the zombies already ate through my defense and I barely have any sun to get rid of them. This challenge constantly screws you over and it is the worst thing I’ve ever played. I’m glad Iit only lasts three day because of I had to play this the whole week, I would’ve lost my mind. Please, make the challenges less hard. I at least want to feel like I have a FAIR CHANCE AT WINNING!!

Good job. I’ve been playing this game for a year now love it Two things -I wish after u completed a areana match you could see how much damage or kill each single plant type got this would allow people to make much better decks. -make it a little Easyer to get plants without haveing to pay or do the area a the one time it will or did happen (Mainly the real gold ones that nobody has) I was thinking make it so you euteher get more plants in the way to get it or get nerve two or more plants instead of one Also slow down in the adds One more thing can you use the ancient Roman and office zombies and make them into two more worlds all u have to do is make more plants easy since u already do that for the areana all the time

PopCap deserves better. I didn’t know that a company could ruin such an amazing masterpiece such as plants vs zombies in such insidious ways until I played this game. All the cheap tactics used to steal money from your average consumer is shoved into this game to make a quick buck rather than actually expand upon the universe of plants vs. zombies. The plot is awful and much lazier than the original game as well as the character of Dave. In the original game Dave had a quirky personality that complimented the underlying dark tone of the game. In this version we get a half baked/ stupefied version of him that is railroaded by a talking car who has the personality of a brick. Meanwhile, the entire mechanical side of the game franchise was derailed by this fast paced/ money hungry style of gameplay that try’s to force you into spending money on coins to pay for power ups needed in order to survive. The original developers of PopCap are rolling in their graves over the stupidity of this game. Lastly, the entire game mechanic of leveling up plants is so antithetical to regular plants vs. zombies and it’s obviously ham-fisted into the game purely to make more money.

Fun but Frustrating. The game itself is fun, there’s no doubt about that. The only problem I have is the pricing for the premium plants.. $5 for a plant that is slightly better than the default plants, plus another $5 for the other plant that’ll actually make it good.. To clarify: Something like Electric Blueberry is worth $5 because it actively destroys stronger zombies every few seconds. But something like Torchwood or Cold Snapdragon, the former only serving to boost projectile plants that shoot through it and the latter being an ice-version of a plant you already have.. both of those should only be $1, $2 at most but nope $5 like all the plants have the same in-game value. To further clarify: I know, it’s a free to play game, they gotta make money somehow but if they want people to buy them without making them broken “pay to win” purchases then they’re gonna have to lower the price on the weaker premium plants. I would of bought them ages ago if they were, and I’m pretty sure a lot more people would have too.

Great Game but…. This Game is extremely close to what is a perfect mobile game on the market right now, but it has some problems. At first the game may seem boringly easy and may quit, don’t do it. After the third world everything gets interesting with unique gimmicks, thinking of new plant techniques, new zombies, Penny’s pursuit, and arena. The only problems I see is the difficulty and ads. The difficulty is basically the same for all the worlds except three ( Dark ages, Big Wave Beach, and modern day) and it’s a huge spike in Difficulty and it seems overwhelming. Unfortunately it’s a small portion so the game seems lackluster because it’s so easy. The ads on the other hand are very annoying and extremely frustrating but the only way to get rid of them is by buying a premium plant. These plants are like 5 USD and are worth it in the beginning to get rid of ads and to have it easy in arena. You should download this game because it’s one of the best games on this over saturated market

Overall: Mind blowing. W game. I love this game, it’s been with me since younger years (The original game) it’s a classic game and I don’t know if this is intentional, but you made it so my tech lover Dad plays it. Typically I would rate the games I play, 4 stars max. But this game just re aligned my thoughts on the internet and social world. It showed me that you can be invisible on the outside but visible on the inside. More understanding meaning is - You hide outside of the internet, but uncover your true self online. Not a shocker since people spend like more than half of the day on their technology. This game is the best time waster in my opinion. I’m trying to fulfill my dream of seeing something that says plants vs. zombies™ 3. Its mind blowing and warms my heart the amount of effort, the creators put into the detail, structure, art, and little bits and parts of the game. It’s hard to interpret all of the thoughts I have of this game.

YOU’ll LOVE IT HERE !!. I’ve been playing this game for a few years , left when updates stopped happening regularly. Came back and there is so much more going on, the arena - event challenges - daily challenges and tasks .. free daily reward etc. My only complaint that I’ve beat every level in WORLD PLAY a few years ago, all except one (The Big Beach Wave - it was difficult lol). Sooo … It was a little disappointing lol but I still enjoy playing the game. It’s not as fun knowing that I am limited to what I can do now and I feel as I’ve “mastered” or “beat” the game already. I love that you don’t have to throw out a ton of money to have fun - this isn’t that kind of game! There are MANY ways to earn diamonds and just about all your needs lol BUT if you have mastered the game before they came with the rewards for “World” and you know you won't get anything for them now then that’s kind of stinks too but not so much that you just want to delete the game and forget about it.

Admageddon, Scams, and Paywalls. The game is fun, when you get to play, but you will spend a huge amount of time forced to watch ads. Worse still, the best plants are hidden behind paywalls and you cannot access them without paying cash - and even though you pay cash, you will still need to watch ads. They also offer “deals” and special offers. I tried one of those, but despite their claims of delivery in an hour, an hour later I didn't have my diamonds. No problem, I thought. I filed a ticket, and they asked for proof of purchase, which I supplied as screenshots of my emailed receipt and website purchase confirmation. They said they’d email me an update. No email that day. Next day no email. No update in the customer service chat either. I checked on the status and it says rejected. No plausible reasons given - as far as I can tell I met all criteria. At this point I’ve had enough. There are lots of other great games that don't come with the frustration, time wasting ads, paywalls, and scams. Avoid pop cap games. I really enjoyed PvZ, and it is sad to see what has become of a franchise I once viewed so fondly.

Fun but this game has serious sound issues. This is a fun game, don’t get me wrong, and I have played it so much that I’ve done everything in the game, but this game has MAJOR sound issues. I have been playing the boss levels in Penny’s Pursuit and the music just stops playing and the sound effects stop working for periods at a time. I just played a level in Pirate Seas Skirmish on a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max and just had the speakers sound like they got blown out for a few seconds. It was so loud I had to turn the volume down so people in the other room didn’t hear me, and my volume wasn’t more than 1/3rd high but it made a loud, piercing sound. It was so bad that I’m writing this review as I’ve tried to write to the developers through their site but have never been able to get through for whatever reason. Maybe I’m a unique case but the sound issues lately are ruining the game for me. Wow, I wrote this review months ago and I’m still having the same issues. Looks like the developers don’t care about the game functioning properly as long as people buy stuff from the game; well I’m NEVER buying anything from this game ever.

Fun game but real long grind.. I have played the 1st PVZ game and mastered it pretty well, so I was very happy & excited when PVZ2 came out. It’s a very fun & great game to play, multiple levels, so many more plants to choose from & so much more, the only draw back to the game is the real Iong grind it takes to level your plants. If there was a way players could pick a specific plant they want to level up with piñata’s instead of hopefully getting piñata’s for that specific plant by luck, also increasing the amount of points of piñata’s to level plants would be great improvement from only getting 3-5 regularly. Even when you spend money on world piñata’s to luckily get points for a specific plant it’s still all by luck & chance if you get points for that plant, for example 100 Egypt world piñata points is spread across multiple plants instead of players being able to apply all 100 points to one specific Egypt world plant, I still love playing the game but really hope some kinda improvements like I said.
