Learning basic blackjack strategy is. so easy with this app! It helps you learn quickly to make the right decisions on the black jack table.

Annoying Pop Ups. Would’ve been 5 stars but lost a star due to the continuous annoying pop-ups asking for a rating. Other than the pop-ups it’s a good app.

Great practice. Lots of great advice, but too many adds, just when you get on a roll.

Useful but phone display stinks. Works great on ipad but on iPhone 8+ and latest ios the screen is cut off. I cant change table rules on phone. Some strategy table items are incorrect.

Recommend. Love this app. I’m truly able to practice and solidify my Blackjack basic strategy and able to edit the strategy to include different strategies as my knowledge of different strategies increases.

Excellent trainer. This is an excellent way to make sure you know your tables, but the strategy table used in this app is different than all the others I’ve seen. Most tables say to hit on a soft 14 when dealer shows a 4, but this says to double. The other case is that most say to hit on a hard 9 when dealer shows 2, but this says to double. These seem like very minor things but it’ll throw you off if you know a different chart. Otherwise this app is a great trainer for the game.

The real deal. This game just gives you scenarios and asks what you should do. No betting. Don’t even get to see the result of your decision- just if it was statistically the right one to make. Here’s what the dealer is showing, here are your two cards. Split / Double / Hit / stand / surrender. And you’re either right or wrong. The brilliance of this game is that it’s so simple, so straightforward, and you don’t have to worry about the app cheating yo get you to buy more chips… it’s just fantastic at what it does.

Great!!!!. Disregard the negative reviews! This app is for people that understand basic strategy per the table configuration and allows you to practice effectively by repetition! Good job, developers!

Problem when doubling on 15. I double down when the dealer has a 15 and it says “a 15 is the dealers weakest hand you should hit on this” First of all a 16 is the dealers weakest hand and 15 is also weak and you should hit on a 15.

Overall good! Some wrong plays. Overall, the app is very good. It claims 5 is the dealers weakest hand, which is incorrect. A 6 is. Players have a 23% edge on a dealer showing a 6, and a 20% on a 5. Other than that, it's very good.

Gets some things wrong. For example, says to hit, not split, 4,4 vs dealer 6. There are other scenarios as well it gets wrong.

Chart doesn’t follow basic strategy. There a couple of hand combos, especially with pairs, that don’t follow basic strategy. For instance, splitting 4,4 against a 5 or 6 is the optimal play, but that isn’t reflected in this app. Once you understand that, this app is excellent.

Wish they would explain more. Why would you split 2s with a Dealer 6? I have no idea. But this is an example of the questions I had while using this app. They mention you should split on a pair of 2s but offer no explanation. Why would I split a crappy hand? Is the winning probability better when you have a pair of cards worth less than a dealer bust card? The world may never know… I’m rating this a 3/5 because of the lack of explanation on the moves. I’m trying to get better.. so do a better job explaining!

Helpful, but not always correct. Follows basic strategy around 95%~ of the time, but sometimes it’s just wrong. Every chart I’ve studied says to split 4s when showing 5 or 6, but app tells me I should have hit. Also messes up sometimes saying I should hit on K+5 (obvious) but should have stayed on Q+5 with dealers 7. Overall, it’s a nice trainer, but going for those high scores is impossible when sometimes it’s just wrong.

Okay for practice- not great for complete beginner. This is great for practicing. But beyond right and wrong, it doesn’t give much feedback on why you should do what on what hands. I’m a beginner and know almost no blackjack so that doesn’t help me learn the strategy.

Great. This is a great app for practice. Love it and I get to work on my soft hands the problem is I got one wrong on soft 14 you do not double on 4 as I understand but rather hit. I double checked and most black jack trainers agree with this basic strategy. Also would like it to go more in depth in terms of allowing us to continue to play the hand as if in real life.

Super solid, but has some discrepancies. This is a fantastic app for getting automatic with blackjack, but I just got a scenario wrong, even though I checked and it’s correct on Blackjack Apprenticeship’s chart. You should hit on a 9 vs a dealer’s 2, but the app says you should double. Beware! Great app but check with other charts to be sure the scenarios are correct.

Quick play. Immediate feedback.. Much faster than dealing. Great for learning the game. Strategy Rules form the foundation of good play. Repetition helps.

Not enough info on wrong choices. I'm new to blackjack and would be happy to pay to upgrade but a major issue prevents me. The app rarely explains why a choice is wrong, only states that it's wrong. I'd learn more and faster if the app tells me why my choice is wrong. For example if my hand totals 16 sometimes it states "WRONG you never hit in this situation" and other times "CORRECT you always hit in this situation". I assume the difference is what the dealer has, but I don't know, it doesn't explain. If there is more info shown after paying to upgrade, this is not stated anywhere, otherwise I'd pay for this info. Also the app does not work in landscape mode, not a major issue but if you're used to always using your iPad in landscape mode as many are, annoying. In fact if the game were landscape, there would be enough room for the advisory text missing in issue #1 😬 I hope this is useful feedback, I'd love this app to be more useful to beginners like me, I think it has the potential to be huge as there's nothing else like it.

Get rid subscription mode. Probably the best app for BJ I’ve used, very easy interface, I would rather purchase app outright than pay via subscription. I’d buy it if it was purchase vs subscription service. Doesn’t make sense, at least for me anyways. But definitely a great app!!!!

Worth buying Pro version. Absolutely fabulous app. Worth the money for the pro version that you can practice Pairs and Soft Hands which are crucial in making the right decisions to turn a profit over the long haul. I'm now up to 657 correct decisions in a row. The one I missed was doubling a 9 vs 2. It's the correct play in double deck dealer standing on soft 17, but not 6 deck hitting soft 17. This trainer has improved my game beyond words.

Very useful — I WON A TON. Using this and a cheat on the plane ride to Vegas I managed to score big. I knew when to stand, hit, double down, split — and cleaned up. When you hit or stay and it’s wrong the app tells you why it’s a bad idea instead of just saying it’s wrong. Couldn’t be much better.

Good App. Nice app - however I would like the option to reset the weak hand table so I could see a more current evaluation of performance

Pointless and Frustrating... Unless You Upgrade!. Deleted after is said I was wrong for standing on a King + 5, but correct for standing on a Queen + 5. Gives no explanations as to why your moves are correct or incorrect. Absolutely pointless app that’s clearly designed to annoy you into paying for the upgrade.

Mastering Basic Strategy! Small bugs need fixed. Absolutely love this app for basic strategy and will probably purchase it once these bugs are fixed. I download it yesterday and the app doesn’t fill the screen it cuts off on each side on IPhone. This is on every screen, so my highest score I can’t see, except when I earned it. My % correct I can’t see. Also the weakest hands screen is great to understand where you are struggling but it’s not 100% accurate with its calculations, but still after a 1000 hands it has done pretty well. My highest score so far is 169. Something I would love to see in the next update is your score after each run. For me to know how many I got correct I have to keep count, and since my high score is so high it’s hard to know how close I came to beating it, if I don’t have a constant this is how many you got correct in a row. *Please add this functionality, it would greatly improve the app* Thanks for a great app thus far! Keep it up!

It was better back then. It was free back then now hes charging subscription and the weakest hand table actually worked now it’s stuck even if you reset it. Shame

Updates made the free version worse. Capitalism…. I downloaded this a few years ago and all the free functions were nice. Now a couple years later with “updates”, the free part is so limited, the app is pretty useless and I feel like I’d have to pay for the upgraded version to get much out of this.

Great, just needs some fine tuning!. Great app, a couple of errors though. Some of the messages are misleading, and there is a basic strategy mistake. A8 vs dealer 6 is a stand, you have it as a double.

Not terrible but problematic.. The tables don’t seem to update when I change strategy so I can’t reference them for studying. Further, it told me splitting 8s against a high card is bad strategy when literally every other resource tells me to split. They need to test the app more and correct their mistakes.

Solid trainer but lacking depth. Very easy to use trainer that tells you what the wrong and right moves are for each hand. But that’s literally it. There’s no information if you want to know WHY to make a particular move. It’s just either “you’re right” or “you’re wrong”. I would appreciate a little more context. I think if we know exactly why something is right or wrong, it will help us learn it quicker.

My go-to blackjack trainer. A little practice every day improves your game dramatically. App makes it easy. Glad I found it.

I had paid for app. Now they want a subscription. I originally paid for this app 4-5 years ago. Then through an update they switched it to an expensive subscription. I don’t need the upgrades, it’s still the same app.

Great!. This app helped me learn about blackjack just like it was intended. I have improved a lot since I first got the app. The only thing I wish the app would allow you to do is, to reset your weakest hand chart. For example, I’ve learned what to do with an A,5 hand since I got the app. I get it almost every time now but it still says it’s my weakest hand.

Doesn’t Tell You Why. Nice looking app, but it doesn’t really explain the why. Would be nice if it would say “incorrect because...” Instead one has to look at the table or search online for the reasoning...

More simple than it sounds. Please allow us to adjust how much money we can bring to the table. I’m not to the point where I bring 10 grand to a table quite yet. Haha! I would like to simulate more to my funds

Free version teaches nothing. Home screen has a list down the right side; Practice, Pair Practice, Soft Hands, Weak Hands, etc. Unless you subscribe and come out of pocket, only one of these is available for use. In practice mode you hit deal, it deals a hand, you decide how to play it, then it tells u "correct" or "wrong" but doesn't tellyou why! I learned nothing

Helpful. 1) This app needs to have the ability to go beyond the initial cards dealt. For example, if you choose correctly, it deals the next card and lets you choose again. If you choose wrong, then you have to choose again. The counting stats would then need to reflect all your correct or incorrect choices. 2) If it had the math behind each choice (ex if you hit 12 vs a dealer showing a 2 what’s the percentage you would win the hand) that would be helpful.

Awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Weakest hands chart isn’t 100% accurate, there are certain hands I know I’ve seen that show up as a dash. Other than that this app is perfect. Wish more explanation was available in app but easy to find online. Final thought maybe make a mode that allows the hands to be played out and let you know if you make a mistake throughout the whole hand. I know that’s not what that app was intended to do but I think it could help. Once I split my 3s vs a 6 my hand isn’t over. I still have a lot of decisions to make that this app doesn’t necessarily 100% address. Love the app.

Needs better Explanation. This is what I was looking for. The app tells you when you made a wrong move and tells you what you should have done. However it does not provide clear explanation why, especially on hands that are based off of what the dealer has. Your left to figure out why it was wrong on your own. It’d also be nice to have a beginners tutorial on splits, double down etc. I also wouldn’t mind finishing the hand.

Overall a good tool, a little glitchy and occasionally gives the wrong strategy. I really like using this tool and it has helped me a lot. Unfortunately it can be pretty glitchy. If I use the app for more than 10-20 minutes, it normally freezes and I have to close it and reopen it. Also, there are times when it will say you used the wrong strategy but the explanation will contradict itself (i.e. the explanation says you made the right move but you’ll receive an “x” indicating you made the wrong call). There are also times when the “correct” answer given by the app during training does not match what is on the app’s strategy card (i.e. the strategy card will say that you should hit, but that answer will be counted wrong when you use it during training). The stats are either not accurate or just not updating from the first time I used the app. Overall, good tool. Just needs some fixes

Weird chart. I’d really like this game if it used a standard H17 chart, but there are a few key differences. For example, it tells you to double down on hard total 9 when the dealer has 2. It also tells you to double down on soft 14 (Ace and 3) when the dealer has 3. As opposed to a standard chart which would tell you to Hit. This might seem like a small nitpick but Blackjack strategy has to be 100% perfect not 99% perfect!! Especially if you plan on actually gambling.

Nice, but could be more helpful. Two things keep this app from being great: As others have suggested, it should give you more info than just correct or incorrect, it should tell you what the right move would have been, and maybe even why. It’d be cool to be able to jump to the strategy sheet with the particular scenario highlighted Also, it should tailor the tests based on how you’ve done in the past. If I always correctly choose split on A,A and 8,8, no need to keep showing me those. If I’m constantly getting 4,4 wrong, show me ore of those

No cancelation option until paid. Be careful, they have no buttons to cancel the trial version. I emailed and complained to try and cancel before trial was finished. I couldn’t cancel until after first month of paying.

Part of the screen is cut off. Everything else is great, but part of the screen is cut off. You can still use the app, but it’s hard to see everything you need to see.

Doesn’t seem consistent. Most the time it’s a fine app, but it needs tweaking. I had 2 and 6 for 8 total vs the dealer’s 5 upcard, and when I chose to double, it told me “Never double in this situation, Remember, 5 is the dealer’s weakest hand.” Umm... that’s why I doubled!?!? I don’t get it.

Doesn't explain anything. It shows you whether a decision you made is considered wrong or correct, but it doesn't explain why.

Why was I charged $15!!!!. I just downloaded this app last night and I see a charge today for $15 that I did not authorize. I thought this app was free?!!! If anything, you should have a free trial before charging anyone. Very upsetting. The app isn’t even that great! When you get something wrong, it should explain why it’s wrong, not just that it’s wrong. So disappointed. I wish I could give it ZERO stars. I’LL MAKE SURE AND SPREAD THE WORD ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO WATCH OUT FOR THIS COMPANY!

Glitch. The free download version has a glitch where the table doesn’t line up and there is a large white space where the text is unreadable while simultaneously making the table smaller and in the upper left side of the screen. It used to function properly. Deleted and reinstalled, but the problem remains. They need to release a patch before the game is playable again.

Previously paid for Pro version. I paid for the Pro version of this app before they introduced a subscription. They haven’t updated the Pro version in 3 years. Poor form. Otherwise nice app.

Flawed. I want to like this app but a subscription model is totally unjustified, this app has no backend to it, it’s just a stand-alone that should cost a one-time $10. The lack of real updates to it also point to this being a money generator more than a featureful app. It also gives the wrong answers to splitting low number cards, according to probability tables.

Doesn't actually teach you how to play. I subscribed for the app hoping to use it long term but quickly realized it's not actually able to teach a beginner to learn to reinforce basic strategy. You just have to guess what to hit, stand, double the split and then the app just says either "wrong" or "right" move. If the developers just added the basic reasons as to why each move is wrong or right that would actually make the player understand the game and would be a great training tool. For example: If the user hit on 17, right now the app says "Wrong, never Hit in this situation" But instead it could be "Wrong, you should always Stand on 17" That one is an easy plays to learn, but when it gets to other choices like Double or Split and what to do based on what the Dealer has, that is where this additional training would really come in handy. In general the app looks nice and is well built though. Which is why I still have it 3 stars. Hopefully the devs might consider adding the reasoning to why moves are wrong or right as I think would make this app much more useful to people learning. I would subscribe if they did. Some sound of the cards flipping and positive / negative sounds when you play your hand would be nice too.

Like it a lot. Effective and easy to use. My only suggestions would be to allow more configuration options to cater for different casino rules, e.g. Double only on 9,10,11; only one card after splitting; no resplitting (or number of splits allowed); etc. I find it frustrating to be told I made a mistake when I didn't according to my local casino rules. Would also be interested in an Australian version where Dealer pushes on 22! Then it would definitely be 5-star!

Good, just one small thing. I really like the app, but there is one value that is off. It says that you should all ways double down on a 9 against a 2 when the right play on a neutral deck is to hit. Besides that this app really helped me improve my basic strategy.

Not bad for basics. It works for what it does but it’s impossible to sign up for the paid version it just goes to a blank green screen when you hit upgrade. Same thing on my iPad so can’t even sign up if I wanted. On the App Store it says $14.99 a year. Actually? It’s such a basic app, MAYBE as a one time charge but yearly come on.

A3 should hit on a dealers 4 upcard.. The app is wrong on my a3 against dealers 4 upcard. You should hit according to basic strategy. Please fix this.

Not helpful. It tells you what you are doing is wrong, but it does not explain *why* what you’re doing is wrong. Which is arguably the most important of training. So 1 star.

Not worth any money. For ploppies is normal but for who is want really to learn BJ 21 shouldn’t be using that app.

Pay to practice specific types. App is fine if you just want to practice regular/ random hands. If you want to practice anything specific (soft hands, pairs, etc.), you gotta pay.

Incorrect blackjack strategy. This app doesnt actually follow known strategy tables for when to ‘stay’ and when to ‘hit’. Told me Im supposed to stay on a hard 9 against a dealers 2 when every strategy ever tells you to hit.
