Don't change anything!. This app is awesome! I couldn't ask for a better bokeh app. I really can't think of anything to add to this app it's perfect. It runs smoothly, it's well thought out, bokehs look natural and smooth, the little mini picture box that pops up when zooming in helps for better editing which is awesome. This is one of the most used apps in my iphone camera bag right next to snapseed. 10 plus star app. :)

Best app for this effect. I've used many apps to get the same effect, this one has the most control over your edges. Other apps seem to forget that we're using a finger on a phone to outline images, this one got it right and made it easy to do.

A Suggestion. You can tell by my five stars that I gave that I think this is a good app, but i would like to suggest something to make it just a little bit better. My suggestion is to be able to adjust the feathering, and opacity of the brush while painting the focus. Thanks for reading!

No longer need Photoshop. In the past, I would use Photoshop to artificially add bokeh to my iPhone pics, in much of the same manner as this app does. However, with this app, I'm able to do it on my phone without having to use a desktop, and it simplifies the process to boot. Totally worth $1.

Big love for 64 bit support. Long time user , big love for this apps , work amazing

Great substitute for long lenses. What an easy fix for not having a slew of lenses. A little work, and can use a little improvement, but overall, an easy way to cheat carrying lots of camera equipment around. My friends think I'm not using my phone to take the photos I send them.

Fix. It don’t let me edit some photos I want to edit I click on it and it turns black and crashes

Best bokeh app. This is the perfect app for me to use when I want to create that blur effect of pro cameras. It works perfect on my iPhone SE. The app is easy to use and the interface is very simple and practical.

Crashed. It worked for one picture and it worked great but now when I try to edit a photo, I get a black screen and it crashes and takes me back to my home page🤦🏽‍♀️ what a waist of 99 cents

Trash app. Literally just purchased the app a couple mins ago and it keeps crashing every time I try to edit a pic, although it’s its a dollar please don’t buy this app.

Works really well. This app has something the native iPhone depth effect doesn't. Ability to Bokeh macro shots. Easy to use. Love the adjustable settings. **New update just puts this thing back on top. Saves native resolution now and feels a whole lot snappier. Still prefer it over native iPhone bokeh

Amazing. I’m on the iPhone 6s and just purchased this and it works amazing I love it I can edit focal points better then my blade Zmax does with its bokeh camera feature I recommend this app u can zoom in close to get them good edges and if u use a touch pen it may even work better..

Essential!. This app is a hidden gem for Mobile Photography. Given the iPhone's already outstanding camera features combined with Bokeh Lens to expand depth of field makes it quite competitive with DSLR quality photos. If you take the time to tediously edit your photos focus points the results are well worth it. The only thing this app is lacking is a snap feature to expedite the editing process. Other than that this app is flawless and delivers convincing bokeh and takes your iPhone photography to the next level!

Makes camera photos look so much more pro!!. This app works exactly the way it should. Used correctly, my ok pics are now magical moments that wow those who get to see them. I used to get the bokeh effect with analog SLR cameras with the F-Stop settings. That was lost with some digital cameras (esp. Phone cameras)

Not too bad actually. I didn't have the highest of hopes for this app. Even apps with decent reviews can be a let down but this one actually worked pretty well. Masking the portion of the image that needs to remain clear of the Bokeh effect can be a little time consuming, especially if the section is complex. I find it best done with a mesh tipped stylus or a Adonit Jot stylus. Once the masking is done, the adjustments give you enough control to get an effect that is pretty good. One thing I'd really like to see is an iPad version. It would make masking easier and I do more photo editing on my iPad as it is. For 99¢ it's hard to go wrong but this app is worthy of downloading if you need a way to fake Bokeh with a little work. Four Stars.

Great !. I think this is a really great app! It does wt it's supposed to do!. & after blurring it, it doesn't damage the picture quality which I really like! I took a picture of a rose with camera+ & then edit it with this app & it came out amazing love it.!!!

Bokeh in 1-2-3....... a lot of apps have many settings to mess with and require lots of practice and skill on your part to produce decent pictures. But NOT this app, add the professional look you want in your iOS pic with thus simple and easy to use app, love it.

Can’t import a photo. Every time I try to import a photo from my library I get a black screen, this app is useless to me.

Stopped working after 11.1 update. Please fix

Annoyed. I like the app because you can edit little details to focus but I’ve been waiting for a picture to save to my camera roll for about an hour and nothing has happened.

Great app for those without the 7+. This app is legit. I'm beyond impressed with the ease of use, and I'm super happy the developer updated the app so it now works with the latest iOS. I don't have a 7+, so this app definitely helps, and looks strikingly similar, to the "depth effect" on the 7+.

Good for fuzzifying backgrounds. Can't say it mimics a DSLR focus very convincingly, but... it is an iPhone app! If you have some time to diddle with a photo that has a busy background, this easy-to-use app gives you the tools to soften/blur the distractions and bring out the "foreground" subject in an aesthetically pleasing way. Props to the developer for focusing on one thing and doing it really well.

So far happy and not... iPhone 8 user. I rarely, rarely pay for apps because of how unreliable they can be and the ones that you can’t test out first, I’m always hesitant to buy. After some self convincing the past few days, I chose to pay for it since it was only a dollar. So far, the happy rules out the unhappy, but i’ve only had the app for about 10 minutes. Considering I’ve already had issues, I’m worried I might change my thoughts. UNHAPPY - Literally, the first picture I went to open to edit went black screen and then crashed. Second attempt, same thing. I then tried to take a picture which worked out fine, as well as, select a different picture in my photo library. Those both worked perfect. The thing is, the first picture that crashed was the same subject material as my second picture, just a different pose. On top of it, because that first picture didn’t work the whole app crashes and closes out to home screen. If a picture isn’t going to work there should just be a pop-up that says unable to edit this picture. HAPPY - I love, love, love the window that pops up when you are selecting your areas because of exactly what it says, your finger is always in the way and you can’t see what you’re highlighting. Also, the fact that you can adjust the Bokeh affecting the mask are pretty awesome. For .99 it’s pretty decent, so far. It gives the effect I’ve been wanting. Thinking that all the iPhones from the 7 and up had portrait mode, I recently purchased the iPhone 8, only to find out that only the plus iPhones have portrait mode. 🙄 So to find this working to give the same idea, that makes me feel better. However, having only had the app for a very short time, I’ll have to see how many times I choose a photo that crashes the app compared to the ones that work. If most of the photos that I want to use the Bokeh effect on are not going to work then it pretty much defeats the purpose and becomes a waste of a dollar. I will update after some time using the app.

Amazing but one more thing.... Amazing app that does what it says. Superior controls and professional looking results. My only complaint is I do a lot of my work on the go and would love to use this app on my iPad. Other than that I've been recommending this app to all my artists who need to make quick edits on their mobile platforms!

Waste. Doesn't do the Bokeh effect or even simulate it. This is a crap photo editor that does what MS Paint used to do. Clever marketing though. 1.3 stars.

Almost love it. The app is easy and works great except for one minor detail. It saves the processed image at a low resolution. Hopefully the developers will give us the ability to save the processed image at full res in a future update and until then I won't be using it. I gave 3 stars because I like it but if it saved at full res I would give it 5 stars.

Very convenient. Like the fact I can use the Selfie part.. kinda like portrait mode.. I have the 7 plus and kinda was bum out they didn't have it for the front camera but with this app helps a lot for me.. was even close to get a iPhone X just cause of that feature :)

Great app. This app is easy to use and just works great. It turns regular photos into art.

Intuitive app, nice results.. It can take a lot of fiddling with the image mask, but the results are surprisingly nice, especially for an iPhone app! Five stars for its current state, although it could use a minor tweak: there's no confirmation when you hit cancel while editing the mask for the bokeh effect, so I lost a lot of work when my finger hit the button.

Awesome. Pretty cool app. Does everything I ask. Though I do have to say, it would be nice if it save the original photos on the camera roll. I took some photos, had to retake them, and when I went to look on my camera roll they weren't there. I would have liked to use them for other photos but couldn't since they weren't saved

Previously Lacked Features Now Here. You can now I'm just the feathering of the mask. You can save at high-resolution. You can adjust the amount of blur, you can edit your mask, and there is a helpful picture in picture to help you see behind your finger when making fine tuning adjustments.

Amazing.. The first step is selecting a photo. Then you color in where you need to focus. Then you adjust the bokeh. And that's it! It's as simple as that! Such an amazing editor! If I had to suggest one thing, it would be to let you be able to change the size of the bokeh, but other than that it's absolutely awesome! Great app! I recommend it to anyone trying to take phone photos with bokeh. Totally worth the $1! I'm very happy with this app!

AMAZING. I have the iPhone 7 Plus and I’ve been wanting to take selfies portrait mode but my phone doesn’t have the feature, and now that I have this is works really well, obviously you have to fiddle with it and it’s what I have wanted for a while, plus if someone uses my phone to take a picture and and they don’t use he portrait mode I can just use this app to make it as similar to the portrait mode. Really happy with this!!!!!

Easy to use. This app does one thing and does it well. You also have the ability to compare the bokeh picture vs. the original the make adjustments if needed. The feathering option was a nice enhancement in the last update.

Bad App. This app is pretty stupid if you ask me, I mean, you can't do much with it at all. All you can do is blur your photos. Please add more, I hate to see wasted space on iPhones due to a 'Just for Blurring' app.

Edges need to be softer. This is a great app but the edges need to be a bit softer, or maybe put an option where you can adjust the edges of the bokeh because when the bokeh to 1 the edges are way too hard and looks awful. Apart from that I really like it :)

Absolute waste of time. It's a great app if you've never used an actual frigging camera before.

Pretty Good but Resolution is too low. This is a pretty neat app. Easy to use and the effects are good. However only downside is the image is downscaled to around 700k. Not good if you want to maintain high resolution images or for printing.. Please upgrade for next update.. Thanks!

Works great on iPhone 7. Works very well on the iPhone 7 4.7" great results from both the camera and the app itself. I'd say it's a bit better than the iPhone 7 plus in built bokeh (depth of field) Only wish If it were possible to make the background blur automatically instead of me doing it manually

I debated getting the iPhone 7 plus because of the portrait feature to create bokeh effects but went with 7 because I heard how well this app works. Couldn't agree more. Hope the app is maintained and kept up to date!

Pretty good, but.... But... If you don't save, you lose! I worked for a while on a photo. Got busy, went back to it, and it was gone. Also, the zoomed inset keeps moving around. It would be better if it could stay in the top-left corner of whatever angle the phone is being held at. I have yet to see a finished photo as I keep being interrupted! There is a web site, but it is bare-bone basic.

NIFTY!. I have a few photo editing apps but I can see this one becoming my new favorite! Cool, fast & detailed with lightening zero render time and even the option to compare at a click too. Love it! Lets see colour correction/modification options and this app goes 5-Star!

Pretty good app. This App is good but to not have a feather option is unfortunate. Basically it blurs the image and you choose a spot to have in focus with extremely hard edges. I would have given it 5 stars if it had this option.

App should be called BLUR lens. Works well if all you want is a blurred background. There are no actual Bokeh effects.

Very nice, realistic bokeh. Very smooth, beautiful and realistic bokeh if added with care. Great way to change the look of your photos if you spend the time to do it carefully. Could be improved with an option of feathering for the brush used for marking the focus, or gradient tool .

Great stuff!. I love this app. The only thing I would like to see would be an option to change the feather on the brushes to allow for a gradual fade of the Bokeh effect. Other than that, this app is well designed, and intuitive.

It works and has been fixed. Im lates iOS AND iPhone 6s. I used this app before when I had the 5 and it was great then and I guess after all the updates it's great now as well. Wanted to drop a review since everyone down voted this app. Also it perfectly focusses on adding bokeh to the picture vs other apps with its goofy features. Thanks guys!

Great App. As it is it's a great app that could be even better if it had a feathering option on the brush as others have already mentioned. I'd also like to have the option to save a full size image.

Black screen then crashes. I've used this exactly once. Now it cannot bring up a photo and pressing any button crashes the app. I'd love to get working again.

One of the best bokeh apps. User-friendly and great for creating that ideal depth of field that's almost impossible to obtain with just the iPhone/iPod/iPad camera alone. I just wish when putting focus on an object/using the eraser tool had a way to tweak it so that the edges were less rough.

Simply Amazing!. If you are debating on wether or not to buy this app you definitely should, unless you have an iPhone 6, but other than that this app deserves to be known by everyone!

Photos don't display. I used to love this app, created many wonderful shots with blurred backgrounds. Now when I try to load a picture, the album titles appear, but none of the photos show, only blanks where the pics should be. If I tap one of the blanks, a random photo loads, but there is no way to know which photo will be loading. As it stands, this app is unusable now.

The upgrade version is even better!. The Mask Wing feature was added in this upgrade version. It makes the focused objects look more natural after fading the background. No more awkward lines, I love it!

Only used a few times but...👍. Only used two times but the more I play with it, the more impressed I am with it.

Problematic. Easy to use: Select your level of blur, paint a mask over the area you don't want blurred; compare it with your original; hit Save. The app has a nice workflow, and clear concise help. Disappointing: It only saves at a tiny fraction of your original resolution (from 12.2 MP down to 0.6 MP). That is ridiculous! Why would I want to put all that work in, only to get a result that throws out most of the picture? Troubling: In addition, the overwhelming number of 5 star reviews posted within a 3 day period have a rather suspicious look, to my eye. I would give it 2 stars if not for all the fake reviews. I'm sorry to be deleting this, because the interface had so much promise.

Awesome. Super cool. Takes some time to get right area in focus but when you finish it is like you shot with a canon 50 1.2.

Very basic but ok. The app is just ok. It needs more features, for example the ability to automatically detect selection borders. I prefer Big Lens over this app.

I have been looking for this FOREVER. Thanks a MILLION!!! It's free but I would buy it in a second if I had to. My only complaint is that the pinch and zoom could be a "little" easier to navigate. The effect is perfect with patience and minimal skill.

FIVE STAR APP, BUT IS CURRENTLY BROKEN. This app is phenomenal, it's my favorite photography app hands down and would pay good money for it to work again. Currently it does not function correctly on iPhone 6/6+ as when you draw your focus area and go to create bokeh, the picture gets completely distorted thus making this app worthless. Great, but doesn't work on 6+. This is one of my favorite apps. I use it all the time. However, like other reviewers have said it does not work on my iPhone 6+. I hope they fix it because I really like to use the app again.

Silky 'n sexy Bokeh effect. Truly a great app. I love an app that can do one thing and do it superbly! From the easy masking to the slider bars for tweaking the effect strength, this app is a staple in my iOS photography folder.

Could be useful but.... There's no way to soften the mask you generate, so everything is either sharp or totally blurred. Sure the subject should have sharp edges, but sometimes you need to gradate the mask in areas between foreground and background. Pretty limiting.

boo. There's no feathering between the effect & the area you leave in focus. It looks pretty ridiculous & seems like it would be easy enough to fix. >hinthint< It would be a cool app if they would fix that 1 thing, hence the 2 stars. I'm going to hang onto it & wait for the update! :)

Don't waste your time and money. I would have loved to give Bokeh Lense a better review, but it turns out to be nothing but a disappointment. The feathering effect leaves lots of annoying noise and MAKES THE PICTURE LOOK FAKE. Have tried it on different pics, with the same results. This app needs some serious work, and as of right now is a complete fail.

Wishing for better quality. The app functions well and does what it says. However it does reduce the quality/resolution upon saving and that makes it less than desirable for me. If it saved in high resolution or even kept the same level of resolution, I would give it 5⭐; as it stands, I will be deleting it.

Smart App!. You got to "paint" which part gets focused on the image, instead of some apps which only allows you to set an area of focus. Easy to use. The zoomed inset feature is really smart!

Best Bokeh App on the Market!. This is by far the best Bokeh App ever, period. It outperfroms any other bokeh app that I have used in the past. So simple to use and the end result is amazing. This app deserves 5 star rating.

Bad results, App frequently crashing. The App keeps crashing, and even after a fresh install you're notified that the App needs to be updated or it will slow down your device. The functionality once it's running is poor, the images are of low quality and the effect sad looking.

Worked Perfectly, then Stopped!. This was such an awesome app. It let me blur the background and made my online photos look professional. Now when I try it all you get is a double exposure of the same image and it is unusable. Too bad because it was great. I have an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 if that helps the developers.

It doesn't do the whole pic?. It'd be a great app....if it blurred the whole pic . It only does like a part of my picture. Like a rectangle on the left side is edited and the rest isn't ...makes it hard to do anything. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong? I'm not sure.

Phenomenal results. This aptly titled app may only add creamy bokeh, but I'm excited to finally have this much needed feature and this app delivers impressive results. The ability to double-tap for zoomed precision and to control the feathering spread is so nice. Well done!!

Great Update!. Makes certain pictures look awesome. Sometimes I have a great picture but want to take the background out of focus. This app lets me do that. The mask feather update made this so much easier to edit.

Bokeh Lens app. Efficient, streamlined, easy to use. With the adjust feature for feathering and controlling the bokeh intensity, and the focus feature, this app achieves a natural-looking, realistic bokeh effect. Better than anything else out there for this kind of bokeh app.

Finally. A simple, intuitive photo app that create depth and blurred backgrounds with ease. I have tried well over 10 photo apps paid or free and this is the best for me.

AWESOME. I used to use Filterstorm for Bokeh. This App is easier to use for this effect. I've been "Bokehing" all kinds of pictures. Nothing needs fixing. The complainers just don't want to bother to figure out how to use it.

Pretty dang good. As a blurring app the interface is great and straight forward. I think it could use a gradient based mask as an option for more or less blur in areas but otherwise it does the job well.

Great app, fun!. I think it is great to play with. You really have to zoom in to get a great result, and it takes some time - as it should! Very simple. What you paint red stays and what you don't paint blurs. The blur can be adjusted as well. 5 star app!
